I think I just found a really cool VN. It is described as a murder mystery that takes inspiration from Ace Attorney and Danganronpa, which sounds pretty tailor-made for me. Unfortunately, I do not think two in the morning is the best time to read it, so I am forced to wait until later.

The source of the bleaching as well, and "the god" etc. Kirschtaria asked Daybit to tell Guda gang the truth if they come to face him in his place (both made a deal to carry out separate plans to undermine Marisbury's). He also told them they were puppets who were used by Marisbury since the beginning, because he wanted them to take down the lostbelts to finish his Grand Order.

Okay. So. I bought and tried out a 5e solo play adventure, Obvious Mimic’s Wolves of Langston. I rolled up a little kenku knowledge cleric of Deneir named Shoosh and spent the last couple of hours playing through it. It was a LOT of fun. Pretty much one of the old school choose-your-own-adventure books, but with dice rolling for skill checks and DIY combat (they give you the stat block and you roll dice for both yourself and the opponent).

I’m kind of glad I made her a level 2 cleric (it just says ‘tier 1′, but it is aimed more for level 1/2), because I almost died, but that’s purely because of shitty dice roles. I almost died to a 2 HP monster ... and then nearly one-shotted a 22 HP one later with a lucky Guiding Bolt.

It’s a nice little story, more on the investigative end than combat. I think I only had about five combat encounters. Technically 6, but I cheated the last one. I was meant to, but it did mean that fight lasted all of 1 round. But the story is interesting. I can see a lot of room for more ... improvisational approaches if this was a DM’d adventure. They did their best, but choose-your-own-adventure is naturally more restrictive. But it was a lot of fun for a couple of hours.

I think I’ll go back now and try again with a different character. And maybe look for more solo adventures, because these are fun.

But, yes. Wolves of Langston is definitely worth a look!
