Tumblr media
"And here ladies and gentleman we have TOKIO HOTEL" the man says, as the band walks in waving at the camera filming them. As the band sits down the interviewer starts to ask questions.
"So how have you like America so far, are you living the american dream here" the man asks his eyebrow cocked, "oh yes it is very nice here, all the american fans are very nice" Bill says clasping his hands together while smiling.
"Oh that's very nice, how about the rest of you is it how you expected" he asks curious to know, the band nods in agreement before ___ decides to speak up. "It is very nice but very loud in the town part of New York, lots of cars and food trucks tho i don't mind the food they make is so good".
Georg and Gustav talk to the interviewer about some of their adventurers in New York so far. The interviewer seemed to pick up on Gustav pronunciation and how he stumbles on the words a bit.
"Gustav may i ask, but you stubble on your English a bit do you have so troubles with it" the man asks, not sure if the question was serious or just genuinely curious Gustav says "oh yeah i am still learning it, big word are hard to wrap my head around and it still takes a while for me to fully understand them" He says looking down a tad bit embarrassed.
"Yeah poor Gustav, he can barely talk to the ladies that do come up to him" Tom chuckles, ___ slaps his arm telling him quietly to cut it out and leave poor Gustav alone. "Well Gustav i don't think you are going to have much fun with the game we organised" the interviewer nods.
"Here i will explain, these cards here have different tongue twisters on them and we guys will have to see who can say them the best and fastest in English" He says a slight chuckle in his voice.
Groans come from Gustav knowing he would probably get out first, "oh Gus you will be fine, your English is not that bad i think bill will get out first"___ says turning to Gustav "Yeah Bills English is terrible, he cant say anything right" Tom nods, Georg agrees. "Oh shut up my English is the best out of everyone's here" Bill says defending himself.
"Okay are you ready for the first one, they will go from easy to hard, okay the first one is Red lorry yellow lorry you need to say this 3x but fast" The first one went by quickly tom stumbling over the yellow lorry bit, Gustav was very happy he didn't get out on the first round.
"Wow that was very good, okay the next one is... She sells sea shells by the sea shore" The man say "Ooo i'm good that his one i know how to say" ___ says excitedly and doing the twister very easily with a smile. In the end Gustav was the one to get it mixed up, he shrugged "i knew this was gonna come up" he say shaking his head as he got out.
"Okay this is the last one this is the hardest one okay The sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick, oh god that is hard" The interviewer says stumbling over the words a tad. Bill was the first to say it.
"The sick-no hold up, the sixth sick sheik's sheep sick" Bill says a smile on his face "WRONG" Tom yells you forgot the last sixth. Tom decided to go next to prove to bill that he was better.
"The sixths sick sheep sheiks sixth sick" Tom say proud "WRONG, you completely messed that up" Georg says "No i got it right" "No tom you have seemed to got it wrong" the interviewer says. Tom rolls his eyes. ___ goes next.
"The sixth sheep sick sheik's sixth sick...?" she says a confused "NO! WRONG" tom says still a bit upset how badly he did it. "whatever at least i didn't do it as bad as you" ___ says with a smirk, tom throws a glare at her.
Georg goes next. "The sixth sick sheik's sixth sheep's sick" The says confidently.
"WRO-" "CORRECT" the interviewer cuts of tom and congratulates Georg on winning. Georg one a chocolate bar. "If i knew there was chocolate bar involved i would of tried harder" "No tom you did try, you just suck" Gustav speaks up smugly "Yeah says the person who got out first" Tom throws his empty water bottle at Gustav.
"Well this is our time up i hope you 5 enjoyed the interview hope you see you guys back in America" The man says shaking their hands while they walk out "Goodbye" The band says in unison.
"Imagine not having chocolate" Georg says sticking his tongue out "oh shut up Georg its just a silly little chocolate bar" Tom says upsetted.
I do this Georg would be very good at tongue twisters for some reason he just looks like he would be good lol. Hope you enjoyed

could I request the tangled prompt for george, please? 😚
and congratulations on 150!!! 🎉
here u are lovely, thank you sm!! (wc: 870)
George is not used to this whole heart in his chest thing, and it’s really dragging down his name as an enemy of the crown.
I mean, sure, that’s not something he can just put away—and the palace guards certainly won’t—but he almost wishes he could. Which is stupid, obviously George loves being a criminal—who doesn’t?
But the thing is, you’re kind of more than he’d been expecting. George thought you were naive, and jumpier than a field mouse, and you are, but you’re also kind when you want to be, and similarly cutthroat when necessary. You’re not half bad.
Like now, in the square, you’re helping an older group of women with their knitting patterns. George had ordered you to lay low, but he realizes now how foolish that is. It doesn’t matter how low you lay, everyone would be looking at you anyways. You’re just magnetic that way.
Leaving the chittering group, you pass over the wide open square, eyes on a shady alcove at the other end. George ducks further into the overhang, skirting around columns to meet you there.
Even if you’re not seeking him out, he’s glad you’re getting some shade. The mid-year sun is penetrating every thick stone building in the kingdom, and turning the ground into a coal walk for your bare feet.
And anyways, when the sun and you meet head-on, it’s a spectacle that’s hard to look at.
Rounding the corner, George stops short, realizing you’re not as alone as he thought.
You’re crouched, hair fanning over your shoulders, speaking with a small boy who looks very unfortunate. There’s dirt covering his face, and his feet are similar to yours in that they’re unprotected. He can’t be more than ten, but instead of playing in the sun like most children, he’s slumped against the wall, looking tired.
George’s newfound heart thumps a little, shocking his system. He steps forward, but then you’re standing, pulling the boy up with you.
Weaving through carts and wagons, you lead the boy into the center of the square, and then skitter away to a quartet of musicians.
The little boy looks like he’s treading open water, spinning in the wake of your attention. When you come back, you take his shaking hands into yours as a song begins to play.
Then you’re dancing.
With the height difference it’s nothing more than a flailing spin, but with every rotation both your face and the boy’s light with joy.
Two couples join in, and George ventures out of his hiding spot to get a better view. As he passes vendors and shoppers, he notices them uprooting themselves, pushing toward you the way he is.
Many of them join, and when George is on the bank of the whirling circle of townspeople he can’t see you anymore. The dance has quickly evolved into a more complex braid of partners, one that everyone but him seems to understand.
A part of him worries that you were taken, but a flash of gold cuts through the mesh of feet, and his shoulders settle.
The partners change fast, so one second your elbows are linked with an older man, and the next you’re swinging into a young girl. It goes this way down the chain, changing all at once like a flower that blooms new every minute, and you keep your eyes on George the whole time.
When you reach him, you stick one hand out and yank him into the fray.
George stumbles and then catches himself on a stranger who kindly guides him into the proper spin. Luckily, he’d been watching long enough to know when to switch, pinging from one partner to the next as bystanders clap to the beat.
When he’s rounded the full circle, the music changes, and everyone finds a new direction.
Though he probably wouldn’t admit it out loud, George understands why you and the boy had looked so happy. As he swings through smithys and students and artists, touching each hand briefly in this hurdling dance, he’s undeniably alive.
He thought that stealing the crown was the fastest his heart would ever beat, but he might have been wrong. Running away was easy, but coming back? Near impossible.
Without him even realizing, George is finally dancing with you. It felt like every time he’d completed the circle and come to you, the music had changed and you’d miss each other.
But now, you’re under his hands, and when the music changes, you tighten yours around his. The chain breaks, and no one seems to mind. George suspects it was all your making anyways, so this time is no different.
Around and around you spin under the summer sun, and George tugs you closer, his feet doing the work for both of you. He doesn’t have to think, he just turns and turns and lifts you, revels in your delighted laugh. He shocks himself with his returning laugh—not snide nor attractive, but truly overjoyed.
When you land on your feet, the music comes to an end, and George and you are still laughing. Both of your chests meet with each huff, swelling with air and pride.
George knows it’s not about the crown anymore.

“I feel ready to be world champion,” says George Russell, IWC ambassador, Mercedes driver, and mental health campaigner. “You’ve just got to keep persevering. And sometimes, when you least expect it, that’s when it happens…”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
No photoshoot in the history of mankind has ever finished on time. But George Russell’s wrapped up precisely 37 seconds earlier than it needed to. We had two hours with the Mercedes driver in which to do the following: dress him in three rather lovely outfits, get a series of portraits on the streets of Mayfair, shoot a behind-the-scenes video, conduct an in-person interview, travel to Cafe Royal on Piccadilly to host a dinner with IWC Schaffhausen, and conduct a lively panel discussion for 60 devoted Formula One fans. Is there a land speed record for cover shoots? To watch George and his team at work — a multi-part, smoothly-cogged machine of slick synchronicity — is to reach constantly for metaphors: they are like a jaw-droppingly efficient pit crew, perhaps; or the silent, infinitesimally-precise inner-workings of some fine, lovely automatic watch. I’m told that if a falcon watched television, it would assume it was sitting in front of an achingly slow slideshow, such is the processing speed of the bird’s eyes and mind. Before you even get to the on-track heroics — the sheer physical and mental ridiculousness of driving the fastest cars in the world competitively for a living — you sense that George is a falcon on the sofa; eyes profound and heartbeat slow.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is appropriate that we have been brought together by a watch partner, I say, as we sit across from each other in a quiet room above the IWC flagship on Bond Street. IWC and Mercedes have enjoyed one of the longest heritage partnerships in Formula One, and George says he has been an ardent fan of the ancient, modern marque even before he joined the team in 2022. I comment on how disciplined and millimetric and precise the afternoon has been. Does he think a lot about time? “I’m now recognising how important my own time is, not only on a professional level — racing in an F1 car, where it’s all about the time — but also appreciating how much I value my own time,” he says. “So everything has been planned to the millisecond, which is how I like it.”
It has certainly taken a long time to move this fast. George — 25 years, 4 months, and 22 days old at the time of writing — left school at the age of 14 to pursue his career behind the wheel. All drivers start incredibly young (George was winning karting competitions at seven.) But this must have felt like a bold move in an industry that is precarious at best, brutally competitive throughout, and characterised by sliding-doors moments, quirks of fate, milliseconds that are worth entire careers. Did it feel bold and risky at the time?
“Now I look back at the responsibility it took for [my parents] to make such a bold decision, it couldn’t have been easy,” he says. “I think there are things in school I have missed out on, but there’s also a hell of a lot I’ve learned in life that school couldn’t have taught me. From the ages of 14 to 18, when I was travelling the world racing, I was working with engineers who were thirty or forty years older, and going to dinner with my mechanics who were in their late twenties. That matures you a lot to the world. I feel like I grew up a lot quicker,” he says.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“It also meant I stayed out of trouble. I had people who I grew up at school with who got into a lot of mischief, as a lot of teenagers do, going out partying and drinking. I missed out on that side of social life. Whether that’s a positive or a negative, who knows. But I wouldn’t have changed it for the world.” Either way, at this precise moment, the gamble looks to have paid off. All careers look smoother in hindsight, and George is refreshingly open about the mistakes, stumbling blocks and setbacks that have punctuated the last decade. But the general trend — the Wikipedia trajectory — has been upwards, upwards, upwards: a whistle-stop climb through karting, Renault Formula 2.0, Formula 4, Formula 3, Formula, GP3, Formula 2, and then, finally, the big one.
Again, timing is everything. In 2014, having won the Formula 4 title, a 16-year-old George sent an email to Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff, humbly asking for a meeting and potential future shot at one of those 20 coveted seats. “I didn’t plan it this way, but I sent that email two days after the championship had finished,” says George. “Timing’s exceptionally important. There was a lot of success and happiness [at that moment]; a relaxed environment. Perhaps if I had sent that email three days earlier, it would have just got caught up in that craziness of the race weekend. And perhaps I wouldn’t be sitting here today.”
Does he think those soft skills — the ways of communicating, his clear thoughtfulness, being polite and kind — are useful, in some unsung way, to a driver’s success on the track? “First impressions are very important,” he says. “Maybe if [his first message to Toto] had come across in an arrogant way, I wouldn’t have gotten a reply to that email.” He says the main things he has learned from Wolff and from Lewis Hamilton, his race partner at Mercedes, are all around “being a grounded and humble person,” he says. “It doesn’t matter if you’re the greatest of all time, or you’ve never had any success — you need to be a grounded person, be humble, treat everyone with respect. They’re things that will take you far in life.”
But still, he tells me, “there’s a clear distinction between being a nice guy, a polite guy — but also being a ruthless athlete. It’s about having that respect, charisma and humbleness in certain scenarios — but also about having that that fire when the helmet is on. That’s a very important distinction.”
That fire fueled a successful debut year in a Mercedes car for George. In April 2022, at the Australian Grand Prix, he achieved his first Mercedes podium. In July, in Hungary, he earned his first pole position. And then, in November, at Sao Paulo, George claimed his first Grand Prix victory, holding off Max Verstappen and Kevin Magnussen in an impressive performance. This year, he says, the team has had “some bad luck”, though he has been pleased with his own performance in general. We meet on the Wednesday before the British Grand Prix — always a slightly more pressurised and poignant race for homegrown talent — and there is a sense of calm confidence about the task ahead. When things can be improved, George says, it is important to work smarter, not simply harder. “I could be on the simulator five days a week, putting in even more hours on my driving,” he says. “But it wouldn’t make me faster. Having those days when I can step back and think about things with a more open vision is important. We can be so fixated in our job. Sometimes you miss the obvious.”
Are there two Georges, I ask? An on-track George and an off-track George? “When the helmet is on, you turn into this animal with one goal; extremely driven,” he says. “You have tunnel vision. You’re looking through this visor — it’s as tunnel vision as you can get. Nothing else matters.” But it is sometimes tricky, he says, when that on-track intensity is broadcast, often out of context, to an off-track setting. “It’s a bit challenging, because all the radio messages [from the cockpit to the race team] are broadcasted now,” he says. “The things you say under the highest pressures are scrutinised and broadcast to the world. And that’s a challenging place to be when you’re representing a brand like Mercedes, or IWC, or any of the other amazing brands and partners we have on our race car, and the 2000 people who work for the company. You’re representing more than just yourself — you’re representing thousands and thousands of people, and you want to make them proud on track with your performances. But it’s important not to let people down with actions you do in the heat of the moment, but may regret an hour later.”
The job of an F1 driver has always been unthinkably intense. But it feels much harder for drivers now — in the age of 360 observation, 24-hour coverage, and armchair Twitter critics — than perhaps it was even just 20 years ago, say. The helmet is a goldfish bowl as much as a shield. “Well,” George says, with Falcon-like perspective, “I think it’s a much more intense environment for every single individual on earth now. We’re all scrutinised. Everything we say on social media is being judged. Every photograph a teenager is posting on social media is being judged, idolised, criticised. It’s a brutal world, and I think the larger the profile, the harder that is. It sometimes feels like nobody can do right.  You open your mouth and you will upset somebody.”
That’s why, he says, the emergence of Netflix’s gargantuan hit Drive to Survive has been so refreshing. While it has brought some added pressure in that it’s awoken a new, much wider audience for the sport, it has also allowed the season some necessary breathing room; the context and zoomed-out perspective that the live, magnifying-glass coverage of each weekend often misses.
“It’s broadcast a year later, so there isn’t that initial reaction to a crash, or a comment, or something that’s been said ten minutes after a race has finished,” George says. “Whereas when you’re dealing with the on-site, live media, people have views, reactions, emotions straight away. And that’s why you’re also reserved to speak from the heart, because someone’s going to take offence from it, and it’s going to spiral, and it’s going to cause you pain from reading.” Does he read the Twitter comments? “No.”
That scrutiny, that pressure — and the clear empathy George has for other people of his generation, the first to mature almost entirely under the blazing, distorted gaze of social media — is one of the reasons he began working with Meta on a mental health campaign last year. As the editor of a magazine largely for young-ish men, I can attest that the ‘conversation around male mental health’, as it is so often loftily dubbed, can be waffly and buzzword-y and earnest beyond usefulness — sincere without being serious; optics over actual advice. So I ask George for one clear thing he would say to young people of his age.
“Don’t be afraid to fail,” he says without pausing. “There’s a huge amount of scrutiny upon people to not make mistakes; to try and be a perfect individual. But it’s definitely okay to make mistakes, and to learn from them, and I can just speak from my own experience: my mistakes were the toughest times of my career, but they’re what has defined me as a person — not just as a professional driver, but as an individual. As much as I regret all those mistakes, and wish they didn’t happen, I sit here now and know they’re the things that have defined me.”
Earlier, I had asked George whether, if he could click his fingers now and be crowned instant world-champion, he’d take the accolade; or whether he would want to earn it, graft for it. “You don’t want an easy journey,” he says. “Those who have an easy journey with no failures will always get slipped up in the future at some point. Yes, I feel ready to be world champion. I feel like I’m performing at the highest level I’ve performed. I’m going head-to-head with the greatest driver of all time, and last year was a great season for me. On a personal level I feel like I’m doing a good job. I have faith that everybody gets their opportunity,” he says.
“And yes, I wanted to be world champion yesterday. But unfortunately life doesn’t happen that way. You’ve got to keep persevering. And sometimes when you least expect it, that’s when it happens.” George Russell is moving fast. But he is not in a hurry.

Time to start unpacking my thoughts following Brazil. Let’s start with Charles.
Seeing Red 🏎
Let me start this by saying since 2020/2021 I have been a firm believer there were 4 World Champions on the grid, Lewis, Seb, Fernando and Kimi and 4 future World Champions in Max, Charles, George and Lando.
I can vividly remember watching Max in those first couple of seasons. Impulsive, reckless, but quick and flashes of the amazing talent that was to come. I can remember telling people Max was a future World Champion in the making and getting laughed at.
Similarly with Charles. That first half of his season was standard rookie fare, accidents, mistakes and almosts. The second half, oh wow! The talent was clear for everyone to see. By summer we were debating which former World Champion was being ousted from Ferrari as there was no way he wasn’t driving for them next season.
As all this was going down George and Lando were around the paddock. Already familiar faces at Mercedes and McLaren. They burst into F1 in 2019 and I still remember the first time Lando caught my attention. Qualifying 8th in his first race in a car I had been likening to a milk float for the last 4 seasons.
All 4 had arrived to their F1 seat with a tide behind them. The whisperings from a young age “this one is special”. They arrived with 4 of the biggest teams in the paddock backing them. This was the future of F1. Bring it on!!
Fast forward to 2023. Max is a three time World Champion. The man looks the finished article.
Lando has slowly but steadily embedding himself into the top 5 drivers of the season year in year out, his faith in McLaren is coming good and he is one of the most exciting drivers to watch of a weekend.
George learnt his trade at Williams, gained the respect of the grid so much they made him GPDA rep and got his much deserved move to Mercedes. It’s not been the easiest time and he has annoyed a lot of fans along the way but he still finds himself towards the front of the grid most weekends in a team of champions. Maybe he overthinks his races, but he never stops trying.
Then there is Charles. I think Charles is the most natural god given talent of the 4. Where the others have had to learn, it seems as natural as breathing to him. In equal machinery, he is the fastest, there is no doubt in my mind. 21 poles say it all. Over one lap, he is a demon.
Yes Charles is all emotion and sometimes his desire to succeed hinders him, sometimes it gives him the edge. He is the driver that I have been least shocked to see him bin it and the one who has gobsmacked me most often with his talent.
That aside, realistically Charles should be knocking on the door of that World Championship by now. As much as I’m loving seeing Lando be Max’s shadow, I can’t be alone in my shock it’s not Charles?
For all his faults, how many points have Ferrari and their incompetence taken from him? I’ve lost track of the awful strategy calls, the bad pit stops, the car taking itself to the shadow realm when we least expect it.
I’m a McLaren girly but I know I’m not alone in the heartbreak of watching Charles hit the barrier on the formation lap. He doesn’t deserve this!
Charles has the talent no question. It’s being wasted at Ferrari, by Ferrari themselves. It’s maddening because I want what’s best for this sport and Charles able to drive to his natural talent and ability is what is best for the sport. This is the first season I’ve questioned is he one of the best 5 drivers on the grid.
The troubling thing for Charles now is the numbers are 3 World Champions on the grid Lewis, Fernando and Max and still 4 World Champions in the making, as hello Oscar 👋. Oscar is showing that same natural talent Charles did in his rookie season. Even more troubling, Lando looks to be the one banging on the door of a Championship. The last 6 races have shown he’s ready but more importantly, so are McLaren.
I’m not sure what will happen if Lando, George or god forbid Oscar get there first. The pain for Charles will be unbearable and too cruel.
It’s that bad already a McLaren fan is writing essays about Charles.

Canadian GP Qualifying Reflection
Everyone and their mom wanted Yuki's heads on a stick for impeding their laps. And I feel like the F1 community on Twitter and Instagram are doing the absolute most. The worst part is that Yuki can't really express any emotionally express anything because people would just stereotype him as being an angry driver.
Tumblr media
This was cute and funny from some Ferrari fans but if Yuki went on the radio and called Charles a dickhead we would not hear the end of it ever. No shade but we need to call these things out when we see it: the expectations on behavior for PoC drivers is waaaaaay different from the white ones
Why did Checo stay on Inters for all of q2? Like I think they called him back into the pits to switch him on another set and he just continued to struggle? But they gave Max the right set of tires at the right time? I need to rewatch since I was so confused because at one point he was the only one on Inters
Tumblr media
Lando driving the 7th fastest car on the grid going equal to qualifying with Checo on the fast car on the grid by a huge margin is so... 😭😭😭 Either Lando is just that good or Checo just doesn't feel comfortable in the car. Or maybe it's a combination of both
The amount of hate Carlos has gotten this weekend is insane. It was bad when he spun in free practice and caused a red flag. It had people calling for him to be dropped by Ferrari, as if free practice ain't the best time to be making these mistakes. He deserved his penalty for screwing over Pierre's quali and Pierre had the right to be upset about it. But that doesn't mean people can be sending him threatening messages!
Alex was so cunty in q2 by putting in a lap time on softs first. Like I was so excited for him to get into q3 again only for him to not be able to put in a proper lap. I genuinely think the Williams upgrades are working and I am very excited to see them fight for positions
Everyone please pray for Charles because even when he calls for the right strategy his team still tells him otherwise. Never seen a driver disrespected by his team like he has been 😭. They asked Max about his opinion on a different set of tires, Max said no, and they kept it pushing. Why doesn't Ferrari have faith in Charles like they love to put him on the wrong tires all the time. Maybe they have a humiliation kink
Tumblr media
This don't even look right. An hour has passed and Hulk still managed to qualify p2. And I am typing this before the decision about speeding during red flags has been made. So if they take away his p2 I'll be sad for like 2 seconds but then I'm gonna be happy because Lewis gets promoted (Lewis getting upgraded grid positions for 3 races in a row sounds correct to me but I doubt anything will happen).
I anticipate Fernando vs Lewis being the main fight at this GP. Nico will be in the front for like the first few laps, but I'm pretty sure he's gonna get overtaken quickly by both of them. Not sure if there will be a safety car or red flag because it might be a dry race tomorrow? Honestly I cannot say much about what will happen outside of Max getting another GP victory
George if you're out there reading this on your burner don't suggest team orders for you and Lewis to swap places because I'm gonna be annoyed. Think about the children (me).
Update: Nico got the penalty which is actually kinda fucked up like let the backmarker team have their moment? But shout out to Lewis he's starting p3 which means another podium is possible 🥳🥳🥳

F1 QUALI HEART RATE EXPERIMENT RESULTS:
(in case you didn’t know, during qualifying i was recording my heart rate, to see any patterns or when my heart rate is fastest/ slowest.) also i’m not an actual doctor or whatever, i run a formula one blog and this is what i do for fun apparently…
my hypothesis was that my heart rate would be fastest in Q3 when my favourite drivers are setting their final laps/ in the third sector.
some important things to consider:
• i have POTS, which (in simple terms) makes my heart rate faster/calmer depending on my posture - during this experiment i was sitting up straight and my heart rate was resting.
• i mostly support the mclaren drivers - but i also support the ferrari drivers. (i’m annoying i know)
• my watch glitched part way into Q2, and said my heart rate was 170 suddenly, when it was actually around 70-80BPM
• i’m italian and biased cos monza/ferrari. soz :)
VARIABLES:
• Dependant Variable: my heart rate (recorded in Beats Per Minute - BPM)
• Independant Variable: the driver qualifying + stage of qualifying
• Controlled Variable: i am recording my results with an Apple Watch series 3 (it’s a bit old now and not so good so don’t be expecting exact numbers) + my posture (also not so good.)
now actually onto the results:
resting: 60BPM
highest: 134BPM (…you’ll see) - this is actually quite low for me, especially in quali. i just wasn’t that hyped clearly.
lowest: 59BPM
Q1:
Q1 average: 76BPM
oscar piastri almost out: 91BPM
Q2:
Q2 average: 85BPM
lando norris almost out: 95BPM
giancarlo fisichella sighting: 89BPM
(at this point my watch told me to take a minute of mindfulness. i said no because i am a formula one fan who hates themself. it also happened when fisichella was on screen - coincidence? i think not.)
Q3:
Q3 average: 111BPM
when my earphones ran out of battery and my broadcast paused: 92BPM
charles leclerc and carlos sainz take P1 back to back: 90BPM
kelly p*quet sighting: 99BPM (scared me ig)
drivers take their Q3 outlaps: 90BPM
then i recorded my heart rate when each driver went over the line:
Fernando Alonso: 88BPM (anomalous result???)
Sergio Perez: 103BPM
Max Verstappen: 107BPM
Lewis Hamilton: 100BPM
George Russell: 104BPM
Oscar Piastri: 107BPM
Lando Norris: 125BPM
Charles Leclerc: 112BPM
Carlos Sainz: 126BPM
Alex Albon: 104BPM
MEAN AVERAGE (excluding anomalous results): 109.7recurringBPM
A SUMMARY:
my hypothesis proved correct - my heart rate increased with each part of qualifying, especially if my favourite drivers were crossing the line.
Q1: 76BPM
Q2: 85BPM
Q3: 111BPM
CARLOS SAINZ PROVISIONAL POLE: 126BPM
HOWEVER, you may have noticed at the beginning i recorded my fastest heart rate as being ‘134BPM’ but i haven’t spoken about it yet. this is because that was my recorded heart rate when CHARLES LECLERC was giggling and speaking italian in his interview. can you blame me though?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
FINDINGS:
my heart beats fast ferrari.

GRADING PLANETS (+PLUTO) ON HOW FITTING THEIR NAMES ARE
Mercury- ancient folks looked at this guy, saw it go real fast, and named it after the fastest god. In modern times, we would have called it Sonic. 10/10
Venus- the Roman goddess, like this planet, is beautiful but deadly. However, I believe that was due to her status as a warrior and not because she had a corrosive atmosphere. 7/10
Earth- well it sure is dirt. Water also. 9/10
Mars- because it is blood-red, the Romans thought it would represent the god of war. The planet itself is weaksauce though. Doesn’t live up to expectations. We bully it all the time. We draw dicks on its sand. 3/10
Jupiter- big ? Check. Full of lighting? Check. Lots of moons children? Check. Yeah that’s Jupiter alright. 8/10, I took two points off because Jupiter (the god) didn’t have a huge red spot. Would have been funny tho.
Saturn- what does this planet even have to do with the titan Saturn? I mean. It’s yellow like wheat. Nice nod to Saturn’s role as a god of agriculture but isn’t enough. 6/10
Uranus- thank fucking god Sir William Herschel decided to keep the Roman mythology theme going instead of naming it after fucking George the third. Sadly, it sounds like “your anus”. 5/10
Neptune- why dear me it sure does look like it should be ocean themed. 10/10
Pluto- when Clyde Tombaugh discovered Planet X in 1930, 11 year old Venetia Burney suggested it be named Pluto, after the god of the underworld, and since Pluto is this cold, dark world it fit like a glove. 10000000000/10 because it also scared Lovecraft really bad

McLaren doing an Aston Martin is a good example for Mercedes Wolff | 2023 British Grand Prix
McLaren’s sudden emergence as the second-fastest team in Formula 1 this weekend gives Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff encouragement about the progress they can make. In the first race where both MCL60s are running the team’s major upgrade package, McLaren claimed second and third on the grid for today’s British Grand Prix, behind pole-winner Max Verstappen. Wolff likened the gains McLaren has made to Aston Martin’s leap forward following the end of last season. “I think it’s very encouraging to see that Aston Martin found massive chunks of lap time from last year to this year,” he said. “And in the same way you see that within the season McLaren are doing that. “That is something that you need to take your hat off to, if we see that consolidating, and certainly for us a good example of how you can turn around things.” While Red Bull have been undefeated so far this year, several different teams have been their closest rivals at different races. “It’s quite weird how that fluctuates,” Wolff admitted. “You would have said for a long time into the season that Aston Martin was the second force and probably our biggest competitor, obviously with Ferrari. “Then suddenly you have McLaren in the mix in Austria, clearly one car had the upgrade and he was very fast. Today both cars have the upgrade and they are second and third on the grid. So absolutely it seems like they have made a massive step in understanding and performance.” Formula 1 is in its third season since introducing a cap on teams’ spending and the Aerodynamic Testing Regulations which handicap the top performances in the championship by limiting their development time. Wolff said the close competition behind Red Bull shows these rules have worked. Advert | Become a RaceFans supporter and go ad-free “We have all been part and active in designing regulations which would allow, over time, smaller teams to catch up and level the playing field. If you look at Albon today on single-lap performance he is right there, and Aston coming back like we discussed before and McLaren. It’s what we wanted. “If you take Max out of the equation – having said that, I mean, he’s four-tenths quicker than the top eight teams on a 90-second lap, so that’s not a huge chunks anymore – but everybody else is within two-tenths. From P2 to [P7] is two-tenths and that shows us that the regulations work. “It’s damn tough and it’s going to continue to be like this, but we knew that.” George Russell and Lewis Hamilton qualified within six-hundredths of a second of each other for Mercedes in sixth and seventh places. That was several places higher than the team achieved during practice on Friday, where it introduced a new front wing for its W14, and Wolff believes they got the most out of their package as it stands. “I think everything performed as we expected. We had to find our reference points yesterday that’s why on the stopwatch maybe it didn’t look too great. But everything was solid and there was nothing we could say today didn’t perform as expected. Just not good enough.” Bringing the F1 news from the source RaceFans strives to bring its readers news directly from the key players in Formula 1. I really want Alex to get his first win before Lando. Like George and Alex having won before lando makes my inner hater so happy.
Like Lando’s the one who began at a relatively good team and one where rookies have won or gotten a podium in their first year (Lewis’s wins in 2007, Oscar’s sprint win, and KMag’s debut P2 in 2014). While George began at Williams and Alex at Toro Rosso. I feel like the expectation would have been to achieve more than the other 2019 rookies.
And then George got a win in his first year with Merc. George won when Lando’s either bottled it or not been fast enough (I will forever tell people about Daniel pulling out a fastest lap on the last lap with much older tyres in Monza. Like Daniel was not trying to pull away and Lando was not quicker that day so the whole team orders thing really does not make sense).
Then Alex, who’s had an awful start to his career and is only just beginning to get into the groove of things, winning before Lando does would just be a difficult pill to swallow.
Lol I get how that would scratch an itch.
For me it’s Oscar because I’m just so impressed with him and I would like him to prove himself as first driver material. Alex has never really done it for me as a driver. I like him where he is with Williams, I like him as team builder, but as a driver, he doesn’t give me butterflies. But yeah for me both Alex and George have had raw deals in terms of their relationships with “big teams” while Lando hasn’t really.
Personally I don’t see Alex being a race winner. You never know, because a 10 car pile up on lap 1 could mean everyone ahead of him is out of the race someday, but I don’t think under normal conditions it will happen. Even the midfield is very cutthroat now.

[caption id="attachment_1475" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts[/caption] Source Singapore 2023 was Carlos Sainz Jr his second win at a Grand Prix but as he very well mention this is his first "Smooth Operation", Carlos IQ went through the roof as he on purpose made Lando Norris defend the front row for him, in this case it was Carlos Sainz getting away when he needed to keep the gap against Lando but on those slow corners giving it back so he could defend his position, at the same time hold up the Mercedes cars; with DRS, I would say that the only two other drivers that have this mind set on the grid are Fernando Alonso, George Russell, Alex Albon and Checo Perez, for the rest of the grid there are very individualist drivers, yes its a sport that you have to be that way to stay on top but this time Carlos Sainz proof its not all the time you need to race just the guy behind/front of you. Ferrari, their car is improving by a lot and as I expected since last year, the superior driver will be Carlos Sainz once he had the car suit him, all Leclerc had before was a fast car design around him, some may say the same thing from Red Bull Racing where the car is design for Max but it is what it is for every second driver on most teams, Sainz all 2022 and 2023 has demonstrate to be the most cold head and smart driver from the two, in Ferrari there is no democracy, its straight dictatorship and it would not be a surprise if we see the team turn the table for Leclerc, after all F1 is a sport where money talks, sports of billions and every single team on the grid is there to win and make a ton of money, as for the car it does look a different animal since Monza, they still have degradation problems but not as bad as before. Over all this is what every Formula 1 driver wants to see, top five cars battling out, I'm not a fan of Verstappen iron fist ruling, its just boring, now that we got McLaren and Ferrari in the Mix is way more interesting and I'm not falling sleep half the race. I have said before, I'm not a Ferrari fan, even if Red Bull Racing got it right Ferrari was still a strong car during the weekend, I thought tradition would continue as Ferrari is for a the most part a one lap car. https://leofinance.io/threads/view/skiptvads/re-leothreads-2p7fs2rqx Here a comment I made on Friday about Ferrari been the two fastest during FP2 [caption id="attachment_1479" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source In my personal opinion another driver that did great in Singapore GP was George Russell, after a brilliant/lucky pit stop to put up Medium Compound Tires 2023 (Yellow) after Esteban Ocon car broke down on lap 44 , on this shot he clips the wall right at the corner of this banner but you cant tell how close he was and then broke the right front arm of the car, got no steering so goes into the wall, small mistakes that can end the race in any second but that's just part of the game, during this time Russell was in a lot of pressure from Hamilton, all this happening on the last lap to finis the race. [caption id="attachment_1483" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source The most obvious question is, What Happen to Red Bull Racing?, from my understanding their setup was totally wrong, the car would not turn, the car had no grip, you could see how many times the rear complains and basically drift when either Max or Checo demand power, this was not a driver problem, both drivers could not make it to Q3 having same grip difficulties, the resurface areas of the track didn't help them but this was the same for all teams. [caption id="attachment_1484" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption]
Source [caption id="attachment_1485" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source In my opinion Red Bull Racing took the wrong approach as trying to reverse changes like rear wing and new floor from the car on a track that have change and so did the car, its not the same car from 2022 and both Max and Checo are not the same drivers, specially how Max has dominated the car for the entire year, going back and forward with parts thinking that could be the problem puts them in a position probably of guessing without much time to proof their theories, the team already knew Singapore GP was a race the will have problems based on simulation, from what I have read online their suspension was too soft for this track, not sure if they made such extreme changes where the bumps of the make the car loose grip either when the suspension expands or contracts making the car to bottom out, probably if they had not change the car a bit from Italy they would have perform better. This was not a car design problem nor a driver problem, it was their setup, Red Bull Racing have done a lot more than other teams in history of Formula 1, the only thing that end their winning streak was themself have the car setup so wrong for this race. [caption id="attachment_1486" align="aligncenter" width="800"] Closest Race of 2023 - Formula 1 Singapore Grand Prix 2023 - Personal Thoughts - www.skiptvads.blog[/caption] Source With ten laps to go Sainz radio was "Gap to Lando every lap", this was on lap 57 after they were notified Mercedes had new Mediums, closing the gap, not only this tells how smart Sainz was to use Lando as his main defense weapon but how good the McLaren is, this is probably a moment Lando has been waiting for a very long time, McLaren finally has a car with a winning shot to win a race, since Silverstone their car finally wake up and drivers like Piastri and Lando show the world how now their car is a true contender to win races so things are not as easy as before for Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen, yes in Monza they won by a six second gap that could be more and Checo did a good race too for the one two but still things are changing, there still 2025 with the same car concept, who knows if they could keep improving their car but the truth is that Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari are improving too, even at Qualifying you have one lap cars like the Williams with Alex Albon improving by a lot. 18.03.2023 | JEDDAH FP3 & QUALIFYING
FP3
FUCK YEAH NICO ROSBERG AGAIN. I said what I said, I love hearing Nico's commentary. Anyway, last free practice…
RED BULL
Tumblr media
Max showed good pace throughout the session, of course, and it always amazes me to see him improve his own time over and over again during a single session. Max finished P1.
Checo also did incredible, having the fastest lap at certain points. He has good pace for this weekend and he’s good on street circuits, so I don't rule him out entirely of a pole position. Checo finished P2 with a +0.613s gap.
ASTON MARTIN
It makes me laugh to think that hell for some people is Nico Rosberg supporting Fernando Alonso, he’s like me fr. I feel like there was more traffic today than yesterday, so Fernando's laps were fast but not as close as yesterday. Both Aston Martins were quite down almost to the end, but they improved their times which I love to see it. Nando finished P3 with a +0.998s gap.
Lance's laps weren't as ideal but they were still good and I feel like it could be a good weekend for him. Lance finished P4 with a +1.024s gap (+0.026s from his teammate).
FERRARI
Tumblr media
The Ferraris do worry me now and I really don't want to be negative and dig too deep into this, but it seems to me that Charles has minor problems with his car again. Nico commented on how teams have to learn based on what their drivers say and that’s so true for Ferrari. Charles finished P6 with a +1.103s gap.
Carlos wasn't amazing either. Both of them were held up quite a bit by traffic but their pace was still meh even when they improved. Carlos finished P10 with a +1.276s gap (+0.173s from his teammate).
MERCEDES
The Mercedes were particularly slow, which surprised me a lot because by the standard of a team like this their speed was way below my expectations.
I didn't like Lewis' speed at all. He was able to pick up more speed at the end and will most likely qualify P5 or something like that again. Lewis finished P5 with a +1.083s gap.
George got better later but he's not perfect. George finished P11 with a +1.326s gap (+0.243s from his teammate).
In other news: Toto + Mick cam!!!
ALFA ROMEO
I don't have much to say about them, just noticed Guanyu was slower due to traffic and that they didn't show Valtteri that much, who I hope has a better time in Qualifying.
Guanyu finished P12 with a +1.432s gap.
Val finished P18 with a +1.832s gap (+0.400s from his teammate).
ALPINE
Regarding Alpine, Pierre has been relatively consistent over the weekend and I see him in the points again. Pierre finished P9 with a +1.216s gap.
Although Estaban's times are not perfect, I can also imagine him getting into the points, the same way it happened with Pierre in Bahrain. Estie Bestie finished P14 with a +1.468s gap (+0.252s from his teammate).
WILLIAMS
Alex's laps weren't perfect but good by Williams standards, especially compared to Logan's. Alex can get a lot out of this car and I can see him earning points this weekend. Alex finished P15 with a +1.498s gap.
The Williams has potential and it's understandable if a rookie like Logan can't find it in the first few races so I don't worry about it. Even so, he is close to Alex and I’ll have to see it in Qualifying. Logan finished P16 with a +1.550s gap (+0.052s from his teammate).
In other news: James cam!
ALPHATAURI
I don't have much to say about AlphaTauri, only that Nyck's power unit issues are worrying because if they continue for Sunday like this, he can easily DNF.
Yuki finished P19, last, with a +2.312s gap.
HAAS
Haas’s laps didn't get me very excited, sorry (sorry Kev). It seems to me that Haas is going to be inconsistent – as they usually are. I feel like they can put in good laps and then finish last and then be in the midfield and I want to see how qualifying turns out but I don't think it will explain how they’ll do this season due to inconsistency.
Hülkenberg finished P13 with a +1.448s gap.
Kevin finished P17 with a +1.646s gap (+0.198s from his teammate).
MCLAREN
I don't trust the McLarens, nor Lando Norris saying that they’re not in a crisis. P7 seems to be Lando's best this weekend but I want to see if he does well in qualifying and can make it to Q3 this time. Lando finished P7 with a +1.205s gap.
Now Oscar, glad to see my baby P8, considering he's a rookie! Even so, my hopes with him are at least Q2 and I would love Q3, but realistically, I don't know if the car is that good (with a rookie like him). Oscar finished P8 with a +1.213s gap (+0.008s from his teammate).
QUALIFYING
Tumblr media
Q1
Fernando and Lance made me nervous by not having time set in Q1 but I'm glad they went up and were safe.
I really thought Alex was going to do better, whereas Logan's position was what I expected. Alex finished P17 (1:29.994).
Logan's spin did scare me a bit, and obviously made him miss his lap. Logan couldn't get a qualifying time, being then the worst rookie.
I can’t believe both AlphaTauri were eliminated, especially Yuki, but again, I already assumed that the qualifying battle was going to be much closer. Yuki finished P16 (1:29.939).
Nyck was also eliminated early, he also had a spin and finished P18 (1:30.244) with a +0.305s gap from his teammate.
LANDO WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE. I can't believe Lando got knocked out in Q1. God. Obviously it was the mistake of hitting the wall which we've seen before in Jeddah, but a big mistake you can't afford during the race. He finished P19 (1:30.447) with a +0.741s gap from his teammate!!!
Q2
Tumblr media
The issue with Max's car was the biggest surprise and it makes me laugh that everyone came together to celebrate it. Look, I don't hate Max and I like to see him succeed, but I also like to see others succeed and when he dominates it's impossible for others. Also, Jos Verstappen upset on my screen is the worst thing in the world, disgusting. I'm not worried about Max because we know he's very capable of winning a race from P15. Max finished P15 (1:49.953) with a 21.318s gap from his teammate.
I loved seeing Fernando first and for a moment I thought he was going to take pole but oh well. He was great.
Carlos at risk is rare to see but so stressful. Luckily he went to Q3.
It's a shame both Alfa Romeo stayed in Q2 but I know that at least Valtteri can get to the points, even if the weekend was not ideal for them. Guanyu finished P12 (1:29.461) while Val finished P14 (1:29.668), with a +0.207s gap between them.
Both Haas out in Q2 doesn’t surprise me. Actually, Q2 is good for Haas because I can't see them in Q3 at this point. Hülkenberg finished P11 (1:29.451) while Kevin finished P13 (1:29.634), they end up with a +0.183s gap
Q3
Tumblr media
Checo really is a beast when it comes to street circuits and I'm happy for him (although Nando…). I hope he does well tomorrow but I wonder how he will do with Fernando breathing down his neck. He earned pole position with a time of 1:28.265.
FERNANDO 2023 WDC. But now seriously, that 3 is promising. I genuinely think he could do excellently in the race and I don't rule him out of a win, much less a podium. He’s going to start in the front row and that makes me very happy. He finished P3 (1:28.730) but will start P2.
Okay Lance was good compared to the previous year. He finished P6 (1:28.945) with a +0.215s gap from his teammate, and will start P5.
Charles did well which I'm glad after a not very promising weekend but he has the penalty. I know Charles is good and he can move up relatively quickly, but Ferrari will always be Ferrari… finished P2 (1:28.420)
Carlos did stress me out a bit, but finished P5 (1:28.931) with a +0.511s gap from his teammate and will start P4. But he’ll start next to George…
Although I am surprised that George outqualified Lewis, I hope he does well and doesn't crash anyone this weekend. I'll admit that Lewis’ was underwhelming and I don't like this feeling at all, I know he's going to move up because he's good at overtaking but the W14 is driving me crazy. George finished P4 (1:28.857) while Lewis finished P8 (1:29.223) with a +0.366s gap between them, they will start P3 and P7 respectively.
Both Alpine in Q3 are great. Esteban finished P7 (1:29.078) and will start P6, while Pierre finished P10 (1:29.357) with a +0.279s gap between them and will start P9.
MY BABY IN P9 IS SO HAPPY I'M GOING TO CRY. Oscar is the first rookie in Q3 and not only that, he outqualified his teammate!!! I’m really happy for him and pray that he does well in the race. He finished P9 (1:29.243) but he will start P8!!!

Hiiii!!! Do you think that George and Lewis would have been competitors for the first two rows had their crashes not happened acc to telemetry? Because someone from merc said that they could have been p2 but I'm not sure
Also thank you so much for your telemetry analysis after every session, i appreciate them very much.
Hiya! Great that you are interested! my interpetations are a bit meh but I am trying!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For HAM I took his fastest Q2 lap because he didn't do a Q3 lap.
I can't really tell you for sure whether or not they had a chance because well it didn't happen.
But in HAMS fastest Q3 lap (that he aborted) his sector one is pretty much on par with VER. However as you can see they lose quite a bit in the second half of the lap. RUS especially loses time in like all corners. But there is no like glaring mistake.
And making up those 5 tenths in just the last sector is unlikely. And with the top 3 being within one tenth I doubt it a bit.
HAM I think could've been 4th maybe 3rd. But it's really hard to tell because they didn't do any proper fast laps but also especially the Russell red flag impacted the tyres for all the others. Out of the top three especially the Ferrari guys. So there is a chance that they also had more time.
I would assume that Merc (the engineer told HAM that they could've gotten 2nd) also maybe didn't expect the top 3 to be this close.
So tldr: idk, but I would say maybe 3rd but definitely 4th.
Also I am doing some guess work with this. If someone else says something else that might be more true. If there is nothing properly off it makes it hard for me lol. and their speed traces are super close to VER.

Being an Olympian (hc)
A/n: I have been watching the olympics recently and it inspired me to write this but I don't know that much about all the sports so sorry if you do any of these and I get things wrong
George:
He is so proud of you that all of your training has allowed you to fulfil your dream of going to the olympics, of course he is sad that he can't watch you compete for the first time but he will be up at whatever time your heats or finals are just to watch you.
Watching you do all the tricks and flips you do as a gymnast he gets scared hoping that you won't fall even though he knows you will be fine because you've done these routines a million times he can't help but worry. Will cheer out loud when you get a really good score and when one of your competitors messes up because he knows that it's good for your competition.
You are in the individual all around final and a few apparatus finals which he watches intently right to the last second. Loved seeing your reaction when you won your medals and of course was so proud of you calling you the second he could to celebrate with you seeing as there wasn't really anyone there for you to enjoy the moment with.
When you come home he picks you up from the airport greeting you with the biggest hug and flowers because he's just that cute. He also love seeing your medals and is surprised by how heavy they are, would definitely call Dream and Sapnap to show them your medals and brag about how cool you are for going to the Olympics.
Dream:
He knows very little about volleyball despite how much you try to explain it but he will suddenly become very interested when you actually make it into the Olympic team and will try his best to learn everything from you before you leave.
Will get up at whatever hour to watch your game and cheers you on as loudly as he can even though you can't hear him and he annoys Sapnap who eventually just decided to join him in watching because it's easier so you have two cheerleaders back home. He often records small parts of the games and puts them on Twitter to tell people to watch and cheer you on as well.
After each game he will call you and either celebrate with you if you won but if you lost or weren't happy with how you performed he would help you look at what to do better for your next match. Of course he's no expert and your coach is there to help with that but hearing some things from him is actually useful sometimes.
In the final he is on the edge of his seat the whole time hands sweating from his anxiousness he is watching you knowing that you are so close to achieving your dream at your first olympics. When you score the final point giving your team gold he jumps up off his seat and runs round the living room he's so excited.
Once your back home he gives you the biggest hug and takes pictures of you with your medal and might post one because he's just so proud. May also steal your medal sometimes just to look at it because he thinks it's so cool.
Sapnap:
He is your biggest supporter and will come to training with you sometimes even though he can't swim anywhere near as fast as you but he will time you to see if you are up to pace which of course you are. When you set a really fast time he will get so excited and will give you a hug even though you are soaking wet.
When your races actually come around he's more nervous than anything because he knows that you have set such high expectations for yourself and he really wants you to meet them. He gets stressed just watching your heats but you make it through with the fastest time which helps him keep calm. Dream would also watch because Sapnap would beg him to even though he probably would anyway but dream has to keep him calm or else Sapnap would bounce off the walls.
By the time your final came around Sapnap almost couldn't watch because she knew that this was your chance to win the medal you have been training so hard for for years. In the last few seconds he was watching through his hands because it was so close between you and the person in the lane next to you but when you touched the side first he sprung up from his position and jumped up and down for ages.
You also do a relay in which your team gets second so you have two medals to bring home. You show him your medals over FaceTime and the smile on his face says everything, he's so proud of you for doing so well after working so hard. While on FaceTime he takes a bunch of screenshots of you with your medals and then he takes more actual pictures when you get home.
Sapnap would definitely brag about it on stream and show people your medals because he's so proud, the chat are also so happy for you because Sapnap had mentioned before just how much you had been training.
Quackity:
Since you do athletics he will come out in runs with you and go to the track with you even though he is always way behind he enjoys watching you run. He has been to all of your previous completions so he’s sad that he can't watch you at the biggest competition of the season but he is supporting from home.
He can't bare to watch you on his own so he will watch your races with your family which creates such a nice atmosphere which even though you can’t see he knows you can feel them supporting you. Is always available to give you a pep talk before you race or after a heat he is there to tell you how well you did. As much as you have an actual coach he is just as good in motivating you and he’s learnt a lot from your actual coach so can give pretty good feedback after each of your runs and isn't afraid to tell you what you could do better.
After you finish second in your heat still qualifying for the final he's so happy but gives you a bit of advice on how you can do better in the actual final which you take on board and use to win the gold medal. The medal ceremony is an emotional moment for him because he can see the huge smile on your face and remembers all the times you've talked about winning even just a bronze and been so excited but seeing you on the top step does make him shed a few tears.
When you come back home he definitely films a video with you called something like racing an Olympic runner where he gets you to show off your skills to his audience who may not have seen you race. He definitely loses the race but he's ok with it because the whole point really was for people to watch you.
Karl:
He is excited to watch you dive at the top level but also a bit scared because he knows that if things don't go right you can get injured and you have only just recovered from an ankle injury you got during training so safe to say he's a bit anxious watching you.
Luckily the synchronised diving is up first when you and your partner are diving together, watching that calms his nerves slightly because he sees you perform so well and only just lose out of the gold medal by 0.5 of a point. Talking with you after the competition also helps because you say that you are feeling on good form and he trusts your knowledge of your ability.
When it comes to your individual event he sets up an alt stream to watch it because he's way to nervous to watch it on his own. A bunch of his friends join a discord call and watch it with him cheering you on along with the chat who were really engrossed in the competition. The reaction when the score for your last dive comes in is ecstatic because there is almost no way anyone could beat you and when the last score came in Karl was jumping around, the chat were going crazy as well as everyone in the discord call. Karl also called you before he ended stream so that one he could talk to you and two thr chat could hear from you.
Does a proper stream when you get back so that the chat can see your medals and ask you questions which was really fun and it’s so cool to hear from people who are now inspired to take up diving because of you.
Wilbur:
He is so proud of you for being able to get to the olympics but because of how strict the lockdown has been in England he is worried about how little you have practiced and trained over the past year but of course he still has faith in you he just doesn’t want you to hurt yourself. Was also gutted he couldn’t go out there with you especially because it’s your first olympics and he so desperately wanted to support you and be there in person to cheer you on.
Watching you practice and watch videos of your past performances has helped him learn how you actually do the high jump so when you start in the first round he can tell that he didn’t need to worry because you are jumping super well. Setting up a makeshift bar in the living room obviously did some good for you because you were looking really good.
Once you made it to the final 8 is when he got most nervous because all of the others were looking great too and the person who had beat you at some world championships was there doing well too. He had faith in you though because he had watched most of your recent practices and you have been really close to beating your personal best so when of it comes to that he thinks you can do it.
It really did get down to that and you had to try going above your personal best but you did it first attempt so you were celebrating and so was he. That height knocked out a few people leaving only you and one person left fighting for gold. You just kept going somehow even though you’ve never made it to these heights before and then it got to above the Olympic record height which is when he started biting his nails with worry. Your competitor failed all 3 of their attempts and you still had one left and you made it meaning not only had you won the gold medal but you hold the Olympic record.
Is so excited for you to get home because he just wants to give you a hug and tell you how well you did not just over FaceTime. He was there for the second you got off the flight and picked you up to give you the tightest hug he could. You also had a lot of interviews to do which usually aren’t your thing so he helps you get though them with his media experience and now the nation loves you because of how sweet you are in all the interviews you do.

Chapter 2

The day of your departure was shockingly calm.  Somehow, everything went to plan, and shortly after being awoken and dressed, you and your parents were boarding the carriage that would take you to the harbour.  Your trunks had been sent down the night before.
“I cannot believe it only takes three days to sail to Antarctica now!  It’s incredible how much more efficient the newer ships are,” your mother exclaimed.
“The ships of the Antarctic Empire are even more advanced, I’ve received correspondence that their fastest warships are powered by steam engines rather than wind.  We will have a lot of catching up to do now that we will be freely exchanging technology.  Their scientists are kilometers ahead of ours,” Your father responded.  He had always been interested in science, and fostered your interest in it as well.  While your kingdom was still steeped in old-fashioned traditions, his reign had brought about some scientific progress.
“Well, our ships are still fast, I’m sure we could go toe to toe with most other countries any day,”
“Not likely, despite how much we’ve improved, many countries are far ahead of us.  It will be extremely beneficial to have the assistance of the Antarctic Empire if, God forbid, we become engaged in a war in the near future,”
“Fine, I guess I’m just stupid then, you got me!”  Your mother pointedly turned to look out the window after her huffy outburst.  This would be a long carriage ride, let alone voyage.
The ship, Bijou de Argentina III, cast off shortly after you boarded.  Unfortunately your stomach did not agree with the rolling waves of the open ocean, so the voyage would be mostly a blur for you.  Your mother was also not faring well, so at least you didn’t have a headache accompanying your nausea.
The three days at sea were relatively uneventful, the weather was as expected, sunny but progressively colder as you got closer to your destination.  Finally, on the evening of the third day, the glowing shore of King George Island, the capital of the Antarctic Empire, came into view.
The Bijou de Argentina III was docked shortly, and you and your parents were ashore right on schedule.  Two coaches had been sent down from the palace to retrieve your family and the luggage. They were spectacular, both you and your father were instantly enamoured.  It was a self-powered carriage, no horses required!  It must be steam-powered.  You had only ever heard of such a thing in a scientific journal, and only this year!
Your eyes were wide as you looked out the window of the coach during the short drive to the palace; trying to take in everything at once was like sensory overload.  The palace sprawled across the tallest point of the island.  It was massive enough that you had been able to see it from the docks of the harbour. But the rest of the island was covered with an immense city, dark buildings towered high above the streets, most light only being provided from their small windows.  You could barely see the sky if you were standing on the sidewalk. It was opposite to everything you’d ever known in Argentina, where even the capital was just a small agricultural centre with a palace by the sea.  The only similarity was the bustling streets, vendors shouting from every corner and alley, trying to get a sale from passers-by.  But these people were so warmly dressed, lumpy pillars of dull grey wool, unlike the light, colourful cottons and linens that walked the streets in Argentina.
“Its so cold here, you’ll need a whole new wardrobe.  Our winter clothes are barely warm enough for this night, and it’s the middle of summer!” Your mother exclaimed, as if one wouldn’t expect Antarctica to be a distinct change from the balmy weather in Argentina.  You only nodded, barely glancing away from the window at her.  Hopefully she would just assume you were tired and reserving your energy for meeting the Antarctic royal family.
Finally, the coach caravan entered the gates of the royal palace.  It felt as cold and dark and lifeless as you’d always expected the heart of Antarctica to be. The palace was composed primarily of dark concrete and bricks, with only few small windows, all capped with steep pointed metal roofs.  It occurred to you that the small windows in every building you’d seen so far must be to minimize thermodynamic heat loss, as the glass would be less insulating than the walls of the buildings.  The drivers continued on for another few minutes, getting to the heart of the royal compound.  You idly think that such a sprawling palace was an excellent defensible point, but the coaches stop before your mind can wander further. Unfortunately your window faced opposite the main entrance that you assumed the royal family would be standing at, so you would have to wait until you stepped out to see your fiancé and future family.
The cold air shocked you when the door was opened, the coach must be heated and you hadn’t noticed it during the drive.  Your parents stepped down out of the coach before you, and your father extended his hand to help you down.  The breath left your lungs at the sight of the royal family.
Firstly, they were all oddly tall, and all of them were dressed in a combination of dark grey metal armour and royal garb.  You had never seen a royal dressed in armour away from the battlefield.  There were five men, and one woman standing slightly apart from them, whom you assumed must be a guard from the full set of armour she was wearing.  The tallest man had brown curly hair and spectacles and was rather handsome.  He stood next to one of the most horrifying creatures you had ever seen.  It must be a man, but he had a giant boar skull strapped to his head, with glowing red glass in its eye sockets.  His shoulders sloped awkwardly, something you never saw in people of good breeding.  His body was strangely proportioned, and you thought that he could be like Frankenstein’s monster – assembled from many different bodies rather than growing into his own.  Altogether, his appearance was jarring compared to the other people present.  On his other side stood the man that you could only assume was the king.  He was a rather typical looking man, medium brown hair, strong build, and a regal stance.  You felt that you could quickly respect this man, especially if his manner followed the calm wise expression of his eyes.  Next to him stood another anomalous man, again older looking.  He was the shortest by far, and lacked the family resemblance of the others (whose faces you could see).  He had long, straw-yellow hair.  But the true strangeness of him lied in the giant mechanical device strapped to him.  It appeared to be made of a dark steel, and while it was only attached at the shoulders and back, it extended in length from his head to the  ground.  Your eye was torn away from studying the device further due to some violent fidgeting from the tall, but quite young-looking, blonde at the other end of the line-up. He was next to the brunet who had first caught your attention, and there was something about the twinkle in the blond’s eyes that screamed mischief, and that was only corroborated by the way he was the only one present who couldn’t stand still for even the short moment that you had taken everyone in.  The man that you assumed was the king started to speak,
“Welcome, Royal Family of Argentina! I am the Emperor of Antarctica,” – Emperor, right – “and I am delighted to present my three sons,” he paused, and the brunet, blond boy, and the one with the boar skull stepped forward.  Great, you had a one in three chance of being attached to him for the rest of your life.  “the eldest, Prince Wilbur, the next in line to the throne, Technoblade, and my youngest, Tommy,”  He finished with a loving smile, lines around his eyes crinkling.  Each of them had bowed in turn when introduced.
You would be known as the woman married to the man with a boar skull.  You weren’t even listening as your parents exchanged civilities and presented you.  Your smile as you curtsied must have been hollow.  You tuned in again to hear the king – wait, emperor – speak again,
“You must be quite cold, this is a big change from the climate of Argentina.  Please, let’s head inside to get further acquainted.”  He turned and started to lead the way into the grand metal doors you had all been standing at the step of.  It took two servants to open each of the double doors for the royal party.  The king – no, emperor – you shook your head to try and get the correction cemented in this time, but unfortunately made eye contact with the female guard trailing the group.  She gave you a questioning look from under her helmet.  While you were marinating in your mortification, the emperor continued to talk,
“My sons will show you to your rooms, and then we’ll reconvene in an hour to have a late supper. I’ll ensure that someone escorts you all to the dining room from your quarters.”  As he finished, the princes stepped forward, and for the first time you heard your fiancé speak,
“I’ll take the princess to her rooms, an’ Wilbur an’ Tommy can escort the King an’ Queen.”  He nodded to each of you respectively.  You noticed that his voice, though muffled slightly by the skull, was deep, and almost raspy.  As you broke off into your groups, and the emperor left to go do emperor things, you realized with some mortification that it seemed like you and Technoblade would be left alone.  How could this be happening?  This would be the makings of a scandal in the Argentinian court.
“Excuse me, are we not to be chaperoned?”  You rather meekly asked as the others left.
“Oh, if it would make you more comfortable, Puffy can walk with us,”  He responded, and motioned for the female guard to follow you rather than your parents and the brothers.  “She’s the head of the royal guard, an’ the best warrior our empire has ever trained. Wilbur an’ I used to spar with her when we were all kids,”
You only nodded in response. You knew you were being rude, but you simply couldn’t think of anything to say.  It appeared that he felt the awkward silence, and he started to speak again,
“D’you have any trainin’ in combat?”  He asked. You started, and for the first time you looked at him in the glowing eye of the skull.
“No! Of course not, that would be entirely improper in the Argentinian court.  Or any court that I have visited, for that matter,”
“Well, you’re in the Antarctic empire now, an’ you’ll have to get trained a bit, for self defense.” He remained remarkably calm in the face of your sudden outburst, and you couldn’t help but feel a bit embarrassed. But you weren’t about to budge on this point.
“I think not, I expect to have a guard on hand when needed, so I see no reason to train in self defense. Let us not dwell on such a strange thought,”
“I think it’s more strange to not have self defense trainin’.  What if somethin’ happens? You don’t care about bein’ able to protect yourself?”
“I cannot think of anything happening where my receiving training would make any difference,” You huffed, feeling more and more frustrated with every sentence in this conversation.  You desperately searched for a new subject,  “Why are you in line for the throne instead of your older brother?  I’ve not heard of such a situation happening in any other countries,”
“You’ll be gettin’ trained in self defense, you can’t deter me from that,” - You couldn’t believe he was so dead-set on you receiving training.  Perhaps you could figure out some excuse to avoid it later - “And in the Antarctic empire, succession is determined by duals.  I bested Wilbur in our dual, an’ he bested Tommy. Barely.”  He chuckled.
“I see, with such a focus on combat skills in even the royal family, it’s no wonder that your country is known to have one of the best militaries in the world,”
“The best military in the world, you’ll be safer here than anywhere else, princess,”  He paused, and you noticed that the two of you (plus… Puffy, right, that was her name) were starting to slow your paces. Technoblade reached forward and opened one of the many doors off the hall for you, and spoke again, “These are your chambers, an’ as you can see your luggage has already been unpacked. Unfortunately, we don’t have a handmaiden for you yet, the woman we originally assigned to you was fired this mornin’ for misconduct.  We’ll find one for you shortly, though, don’t worry.  An’ I think that’s everythin’, I’ll come an’ get you in a bit for dinner,”
“Thank you, Prince Technoblade,”  You started to curtsy, but suddenly his hand was gently gripping your upper arm to pull you out of your curtsy.
“You can call me Techno, an’ there’s no need for any of that ceremony.  We’ll be married in just a week you know,”  He said, and his tone was markedly softer than before, even as you gently pulled your arm out of his grasp.  His hand was large enough that it nearly wrapped the whole way around your bicep, and it was almost still stretched towards you, as if already missing the contact.  You wondered what expression he was wearing under that mask.

dteam wing!au, bc literally nobody can stop me.
my brain spit this out this morning, and i was like “i could make this and nobody could stop me” and now it exists. i put so much less thought than i should’ve into this. i dont even care. if anybody asks, this is inspired by “Minecraft, but we’re always flying” or something, but that’s not true i just wanted to draw the boys with wings.
some notes under the cut:
- Dream was definitely the design i actually thought about the most. I wanted something fast and maneuverable for him, but not super expected (like a falcon or something, which is kind of a moot point considering the other two are super stereotypical wing designs, but also do i really care? no.) so I was thinking something like a kingfisher or a hummingbird at first, but that didn't really fit either, and plenty of birds are fast but not really agile. I then went into swifts, which are the fastest horizontal flying birds and are. super fast and maneuverable,, but guess what? they aren't the fastest horizontal flying animals.
- bats are.
- these tiny bats go around flying at 100 mph, making crazy turns and such all the while. theyre insane.
- Brazilian free-tailed bats ! look them up
- anyways i didn’t want to use bats at first bc stereotypical “evil” connotations combined with dream’s,, uh,, tendencies? (every manhunt vid, but especially speed runner v. mutant. you Know.) seemed like a super cliche take, but like come on. it worked too well. crazy bat boy doing crazy bat boy things. imagine the pun potential.
- so anyways. he’s a bat.
- to be honest, I dont know what universe this would really exist in, real life or minecraft, but both have a lot of potential so. i might do more with this, because i supposedly made this up based on “minecraft but we’re always flying” i’ll put it in the mc world for now but like. both seem like too much fun
- anyways
- Dream is as I said, crazy bat boy. He is still minorly afraid of heights,, not as much as he probably is in real life but like,, he isn’t the most comfortable with them. He does love flying though, and in typical bat fashion he does a lot of dodging and weaving through trees and other crazy stunts. Bat wings are super jointed and flexible, so he’s able to weave through super busy landscapes pretty easily,, much to George and Sapnap’s chagrin
- George is a barn owl ! Partly bc though I know nothing about harry potter but i know owls are a thing with wizards and stuff in general, and george is apparently The harry potter nerd in the dteam, and partly bc owls are the bird equivalent to cats and george is a cat if you've ever seen one. also, his stupid goggles look like giant owl eyes. it works ok ?
- he’s not as fast a flier as dream and sapnap, but he’s still a very effective hunter. he can fly Silently and he uses that to his advantage a Lot. unfortunately, he’s still colorblind, but he’s still got really good vision. his night vision, especially, is super good, as is his hearing
- george has. Lorge wings. he’s pretty average size, same as in real life, but he’s shorter than both dream and sapnap and has Massive wings. they’re super fluffy too, making them look even bigger, and the resulting image results in george looking pretty small for how Massive his wings are, like a child that hasn’t really grown into their clothes yet. they are the absolute best wings to cuddle with, even though he doesn’t do that often, and when he gets startled he raises them automatically to look a lot bigger than he actually is, in that owl way of becoming a circle. dream and especially sapnap find it hilarious.
- sapnap’s a red tailed hawk ! he seems to suit a bird of prey really well, and I associate the color red and orange with him a lot. Sapnap’s a great flier and very much enjoys screwing around in the sky, often way higher than dream and george really like to go up. He’s a fast enough flier, definitely faster than george, but nowhere close to Dream if they’re flying horizontally. However, he Can dive, and he can dive very very fast. He dive-bombs george Constantly, and sometimes manages to pull one on Dream if he and George do the planning beforehand. it doesn’t always work because Dream’s a little weasel and can maneuver himself out of place Fast once he notices, but they Have pulled it off a few times and his reactions are Golden.
- Sapnap is *pretty* chill, but if you trigger his territorial instincts then he can become and absolute pain to deal with. This, of course, is why you can very often find sapnap and dream flying and chasing each other because dream was being a little a-hole and stole sapnap’s stuff or something. (he’s also very protective of his friends, who he consider as his territory, or home, not that he’s gonna say it or anything.)
- when sapnap gets into Instinct Mode he also rarely does the red-tailed hawk screech, which usually is enough of a shock to kick him out of it as both george and dream laugh themselves silly. both george and dream get the most flak for being the loud ones,,, (not even bc of his bird, for george, but just bc. He’s George) but that Screech puts everyone else to shame,, it’s just,, So Loud.
- dream, when he isnt flying, is actually very protective of his wings. it’s not immediately obvious to the others, but because his wings are so small and maneuverable dream tends to fold them up and hide them under his clothes when he can, and otherwise keep them folded and away from everything else when he can’t. george has his wings folded about half of the time, and sapnap really never has his folded. they fly so much that it’s not super obvious, but dream’s wings are Delicate and full of tiny bones and joints thank u very much and he’s very protective of them
- both george and sapnap have feathers along their back and neck that will raise when they’re alarmed or scared. dream doesn’t, but his hair is Extremely fluffy and fine, to the point of almost seeming like fur instead of hair.
- both dream and george lean towards a nocturnal sleep schedule, and sapnap basically grudgingly follows. they have a completely screwed up sleep schedule, just like real life. it be like that sometimes.
i’ll cut this off for now, but i have. more thoughts. we’ll see what becomes of them haha.
