first of all tysm !!! i love daishou and writing him is just so much fun. here are ur answers! under the cut bc you asked me to infodump and i am simply providing.

8. tell me about your favorite band. go on infodump for me.

anyone who knows me knows that i uh kinda like fall out boy a little bit (read: a lot a bit). this blog started as a fall out boy bandom blog; if u go back far enough in the archive u get some wild love for music stuff. 

BUT it’s on my mind after talking about album art so i’m gonna talk about troye sivan (technically not a band but close enough). so i got into troye in middle school ish and boy did i LATCH on to him. like. certifiably insane abt his music and yt channel. i was @ his first and second tours!! had the absolutely time of my life; fun fact, his first tour was my first concert. 

but when wild was abt to come out, that boy did some crazy promo shit. he did one of those instagram countdowns but (a) wouldn’t tell us what it was for and (b) didn’t use numbers. he posted pictures of circles that gradually got either bigger or smaller idr which as his profile pic. he would drop pics of flower petals drifting across his insta page, which was completely whited out. there was no schedule or anything. he just did it. 

THEN for blue neighborhood, i lost my shit even MORE. he sent us (fans) on a literal WORLDWIDE scavenger hunt to get the first looks at the songs. like u do not understand how absolutely insane it was. we were on twitter trying to sus out the tracklist through a, and i cannot express this enough, worldwide scavenger hunt. and you know what we found. VHS TAPES. it looks like the website was taken down, but there was a tracking system and we worked together on twitter to meet up to play fucking VHS tapes and get the first looks. 

at the time it was fucking INSANE. i LOST my goddamn MIND over all of this !!!! i have genuinely never felt alive in the same way as i did when wild and blue neighborhood were first dropping, and i probably never will again. 

in comparison, the bloom drop was disappointing af. man. they just don’t make em like 2016 album drops anymore. 

i’m no longer as into troye as i was (i still adore blue neighborhood and wild, but his new music isn’t as much my thing), but this was so insane and i just remembered all of it, so i gotta talk abt it w someone. god. i was literally on twitter talking to ppl from australia about a vhs tape they found under a bridge or some shit. insane.

ALL THE HAIKYU!! CAPTAINS AND THEIR TYPES (Not Canon!)

DAICHI -> Someone that is responsible but not afraid to have fun and be out there is unquestionably Daichi’s type. He wouldn’t be compatible with someone too bland nor too energetic— just somebody down-to-earth. His partner having a secret competitive side somewhere hidden would definitely be such a turn-on for him. He also would be well-matched with one that is bratty and stubborn. He deals with his own team 24/7, so he would fancy a challenge. But Daichi with a feisty significant other is definitely a concept...

OIKAWA -> Okay, hear me out... Oikawa with a sharp-tongued significant other. A partner that isn't to be hypnotized so easily by his good looks and way with words. Someone to put him in his place when he goes out of line, yet love him when he’s feeling low and help get him back up on his feet. He may seem like the type of person to want a partner that would fill his ego, but he really doesn’t want a pushover or someone that backs down without a challenge. He and his partner’s dynamic would be the type that everyone envies— it just works too well!

KUROO -> Kuroo is nicknamed as the king of provocation, so a partner that is the same way would be something he'd like— very quick-witted, lively, but still laidback. He'd not mesh well with a hot-headed person since he seems to often talk in a condescending manner that would throw them off. He won't care about how academically intelligent they are. As long as they allow him to act on his nerdy desires, such as telling cheesy Chemistry pickup-lines that would be lame if he weren't the person telling them.

BOKUTO -> I think Bokuto is so intelligent that he would find a way to get along with literally anyone, so his partner’s personality isn’t something he’ll ever nitpick about. As long as they love him and he loves them— with that being said, being genuinely mean isn’t something he’ll tolerate. He needs someone patient with him, that’ll care for him whenever he’s feeling down because he’ll do the same. Also, being supportive is another trait I believe his significant other would hold. Bokuto wouldn’t mind if they were introverted or extroverted, loud or quiet, and would never mind them being affectionate or aloof, as long as they truly have the best intentions in mind, love him, and plan to always be there for him.

USHIJIMA -> For a person as stoic as Ushijima is, I believe that a bubbly and cute significant other is his best match. Having a carefree partner would bring him out of his shell and crack a small grin every now and then. But, he wouldn’t be compatible with a sensitive significant other because he’s a very blunt person that will accidentally hurt them with his words. Contrary to popular belief, he’s a very hilarious person —intentional or not— and would appreciate a funny partner.

FUTAKUCHI -> He’s said to be a very “problematic” person with an “easy-going” personality, so I believe that his significant other would be a feisty yet chill person. He wouldn’t want someone too intense nor a pushover, so his partner being right in the middle is the best option for him. Just someone that he can share playful banter with without any hard feelings. A partner to make fun of him when he’s acting too mature and keep him at bay when he’s being too reckless.

TERUSHIMA -> I think that someone with a personality that wouldn’t clash too much with his own would be best for Terushima. He’s very energetic and extroverted, so someone somewhat awkward and quiet —just at first at least— to remind him to take a breather every now and then. He still would prefer if they were light-hearted and goofy at the same time though, he wouldn’t know how to handle someone too reserved and tense. He also wouldn’t be able to company someone too serious, he’ll just feel like a burden throughout the rest of his life that way. Terushima is an individual that values his freedom and loves being outgoing— meaning, he should have a significant other that wouldn’t be opposed to joining him in his crazy daily antics.

DAISHOU -> Daishou has a very snake-like nature— which comes as no surprise, recognized for being manipulative, deceiving, and two-faced. This leads me to believe he would want an innocent, cute, and impressionable partner so he can shield them from people similar to himself in the world. Someone that is so adorably clueless to social cues that he feels as if it's an obligation to take them under his wing, otherwise they would remain helpless. He’s wrapped around their fingers, any wish his significant other asks for, he will do it guaranteed within a heartbeat. That is why he wants a person that is upfront about their intentions and would never deceive him. However, he definitely will be pleased with his partner if they learned from his methods and began acting like him towards others.

KITA -> Grasping his personality into account, I think he would favor a reserved and reticent yet attentive partner. He also would enjoy it if his significant other had a sly and mischievous side that is conserved for him —and him alone— to see. The most essential matter for Kita is that the person he’ll spend the rest of his life with is faithful, considerate, and courteous. I really believe that it would be a dealbreaker for him if they were ill-mannered in the slightest. He wants somebody to love and take home to his grandmother, not an adult child to discipline and tame.

thoughts: my absolute absolute absolute favorite iwaoi fic. the characterization, the fact that oikawa’s a bastard but because he and iwaizumi are older (late 20s i believe), it feels more realistic and sad rather than oikawa being a bitch for the sake of it. spoiler alert it’s slow burn and pining and mostly oikawa not realizing his feelings. this world building is pretty cool bc iwaizumi is the professional player while oikawa is an entomology professor! also i love non-linear narratives bc of This fic. there’s mutual pining in this fic but it’s really really really subtle to the point where you dont even know if oikawa likes iwa. this made me cry like twice.

Summary: In the summer of 2020, Oikawa Tooru returns home from his first successful stint as captain of Japan’s national volleyball team. In one hand, he holds the undisputed weight of an Olympic medal, and in the other, his unresolved feelings for a childhood best friend.

thoughts: the tone in this is So similar to the courtship ritual that I liken this as an alternate story even though it’s still oikawa’s pov. professional player oikawa and regular guy iwaizumi and oikawa is just. bumming around at iwaizumi’s place and naturally he messes up but things happen.

thoughts: oikawa retires and moves in with iwaizumi and they blur the line between roommates/best friends and being fwb. this is an iwaizumi pov and the pining is obvious on his end. as a iwa stan the tone made me feel weird bc it makes it seem like iwa cares more abt oikawa than he cares abt himself but. its a good fic

thoughts: this is also SO funny bc basically oikawa retires and moves in with iwaizumi and becomes his stay at home wife and a bunch of shit happens like people think that oikawa is dating ushijima and oikawa basically loses it every time. here’s one of my favorite quotes:

Summary: Because misfortune come in threes, Iwaizumi Hajime starts his Thursday having a screaming fight with Shittykawa, spends his lunch break listening to the UCI women’s volleyball team gossiping about how Ushijima Wakatoshi had gone public about his longtime love affair with Oikawa Tooru, and closes out the day by drunkenly dropping his phone into a sewer grate.

thoughts: so funny. so sososoosso genuinely funny. the tone is so snappy and iwaizumi honestly just sounds like a confused teenager (which he is in this) and it gets extra points for including a lot of american culture that a lot of the other iwaoi college au ones don’t include for like. obvious reasons lol.

Summary: In which Oikawa and Iwaizumi have always been a foregone conclusion to everyone else, but a massive, unanswered question to one another.

thoughts: this was actually my first iwaoi fic which is funny bc the author doesn’t even like oikawa much and i didnt even ship anything in haikyuu before i read this fic and now im in iwaoi hell. oikawa is really frustrating in this in that it’s basically a really good character analysis on how oikawa comes off as a Mean person all the time bc he’s manipulative and there’s some explicit content

why i’m obsessed with daishou suguru: no, it’s not just his biceps

I’m sure that it’s no secret.  We are all well aware that I am completely and utterly head over heels for this man *looks around at my nohebi inspired theme*.  But, I’m sure some, most, if not all, look at Daishou Suguru and his character and say, “Maddi, why?” This is an excellent question and I’m here to give you my maybe excellent answer.  So, to everyone who has ever wondered why I love him as much as I do, here we go:

I have a long track record of falling in love with characters who tend to interest me with motives and their actions, blame the literature fanatic in me.  Of course, there are some that don’t delve as deep, but for the most part, that’s the common denominator of most of the characters that I love; they intrigue me. 

Draco Malfoy? Interesting.  I could write an entire novel on why he deserves a lot better and why he isn’t just a complete asshole + a brat.  don’t get me wrong.  he’s both of those things, especially as a child, but i would stand to say that we’re pointing fingers at the wrong person when it comes to draco

Oikawa Tooru?  Amazing.  Brilliant character.  Love him with my whole entire being because he’s just such a beautiful constructed antagonist.  The kind of antagonist that you genuinely struggle to hate and I love that about him.  He’s so goddamned interesting and I adore him

Makoto Tachibana is arrafjfsjioaijosfiojsf so incredible. i love his backstory and his connection to haru how essential he truly is to the story mwah chef’s fucking kiss + back that rivals bokuto’s

but are we here to talk about any of those? n o.

We are here to discuss Daishou Suguru and why he is my everything: from a stance other than the fact that I think he’s pretty.

To put it simply- he’s interesting.  I love the entire Nohebi team because of that reason.  They’re interesting.  Think about Johzenji.  A big reason why they stuck with us, especially Terushima, was because they were something new, something completely different than what we had been used to seeing up until that point.  We had fun watching their game.  

But, Nohebi is interesting for a completely different reason.  They are designed to be hated.  Most people who watch Haikyuu!! do develop an attachment to the main teams, so when you meet Nohebi, you immediately want to dislike them due to the fact that there is some attachment to Nekoma.  We see Nohebi through their eyes.  Even the lighting that is used throughout that match screams “BAD GUYS”.  We’ve got the classic Disney villain green thing going on, you know?  And really, up until the end of the Land vs. Air OVAs, there isn’t much that redeems them as a team.  But, at the very end, there’s a really short moment where we get to see them for who they really are, just a group of high school boys. 

This is the first moment where you get to see them as someone other than Nekoma’s rival and that’s where they finally get their chance to touch your heart.

Daishou Suguru is built to be the ultimate antagonist for Kuroo Tetsurou, a character that holds a place in everyone’s heart.  I genuinely cannot think of a single other antagonist that he reminds me of other than Deloris Umbridge.  Not in his actions and I don’t think he wears pink suits (although who knows 👀), but in the fact that he walked on screen and you immediately want to hate him.  It’s even in his character design!  He l i t e r a l l y looks like a snake (the teams being personifications of their mascots is a whole other topic that we could discuss some time).  His eyes are designed with the intent to make you distrust him and it works, doesn’t it?

I can fully admit that he is one of the most morally questionable characters in Haikyuu, which tends to be the main reason that people dislike him.  He is a dirty filthy cheater, that is no lie, but I can’t help but admire him.  Daishou is so incredibly intelligent.  He knows where to poke to make the opposing team to make them lose their cool.  He plays an incredible mental game and that’s so?? interesting?? He is fully aware that he is not the strongest player.  He is lacking in stats and stature.  At only 5′10, he’s not much compared to most of the other players we’ve met through the series.  He only has a power level of 2 and a speed of 3.  He knows that he can’t compete on a physical level with other players, so he plays mentally.  His game sense and technique are both 4/5, and we can even see that when he’s up in the stands at the national games.  He’s constantly talking game sense and he can see what the opposing team is doing and understand why they’re doing it.  You can see that that is what he really loves about volleyball.  He loves the mental and calculating portion of the game and I just think that’s so cool?? Daishou has learned to adapt and use his strengths to be an incredible captain to his team.  Yes, the way he uses those strengths isn’t the best by any means, but I genuinely don’t think any character could pull off what he does.  He thinks so quickly on his feet, but not in the same way that someone like Kageyama does.  He’s predatory and he can see the weakest links in the opposing teams chain and will directly target them.  That goody-two-shoes act? Absolutely infuriating, but smart.  It’s essential for him to be able to pull off what he does on the court and he knows that.

Daishou Suguru is intelligent, calculating, and different.   He is a beautiful antagonist who does exactly what he’s designed to do in such a short amount of time, something that isn’t really seen from any other character that we meet.  When you initially meet him, he genuinely seems to have zero redeeming qualities, but as we see him more and more throughout season four, we start to see him as someone who loves the game and who has just as much passion about volleyball as every other character we’ve met.  We see him humanized through Mika and how he interacts with her, when we see him get all blushy and apologetic about rambling (another topic that I talk about here).

I love him because he’s different, because he is so incredibly built from a literary stance just like every other character that Furudate has given us.  Daishou Suguru is genuinely unlike any other character.

    Your arrival in Japan, unfortunately, did not go unnoticed. While your guard detail--see “glorified babysitters”--had reassured you that the press wouldn’t have a chance to corner you into an interview, there was still some concern over people seeing you and hurting people in order to get close to you. It had happened once, before, the hour predating your first official collaboration with Wisteria. Your guard had gotten a black eye so awful that it had lasted for weeks. He had gotten a very hefty bonus for the trouble, though.

    “I should have worn something more incognito,” you mumbled to yourself. The private jet’s bathroom mirror was floor length, so you had a good idea of how your outfit looked and what kind of presence it would give off. Most of the time, you would wear something cute or flashy to fuel your fan club’s activity--you were a sucker and liked browsing through their twitter feed on a private account--but today you weren’t feeling the energy for it. “I forgot I even had these.”

    After rummaging around in your bags for something that was comfortable, and not sky high heels or chiffon or silk or outrageously expensive t-shirts and jeans, you had come across a pair of Osamu’s old Inarizaki High volleyball sweatpants. You hadn’t even thought twice about throwing them on and rolling the ankles up to suit your height, even though the name printed on one leg and the jersey number on the other would have your fans tracking him down like the bloodhounds they were. You matched them with a black hoodie, socks, and a mask to hide the irritation underneath your nose, but even then you still stood out like a sore thumb.

    It had to be the way you stood, you thought, adjusting your stance to seem more lazy and laid back.

    It didn’t work.

    With a sigh, you exited the bathroom and found that your things had already been unloaded for you by your glorified babysitters. All that was left was your purse, which you snatched up and hooked over your shoulder, and your phone, which you glanced at and shoved into your pocket. It sunk down so far in the sweatpants pocket that you felt it bounce against the side of your thigh as you walked.

    “Nice pants,” one of your guards teased, poking fun at the name printed on the leg. “You sure you don’t want to change them and avoid the media scrutiny?”

    “I’m too tired to go back and find something else,” you hummed. One of the guards--there were three in total, at the request of Ushijima-san herself--held out a hand and helped you down the flight of stairs that were a bit too steep for your jetlagged brain to walk down in confidence. “What are we driving in today, my good men?”

    “Might I suggest the classic Phantom?” one of them joked, falling into formation when you began walking down the flight portal. “Just kidding. We’re taking the Audi today, since you want to be low profile this afternoon.”

    “Good.” You had missed riding around in your trusty Audi; not that a Ferrari or Lamborghini was something to scoff at, but you missed the frugal lifestyle you had when you were in highschool. Once your career took off, you rarely struggled for anything and college had been a breeze. Though, you had no clue what you were going to do with a nuclear engineering degree now that your modeling gig paid more than that ever would. “Make a stop for some cheap drug store coffee and we’re all set.”

    “I’ll add it to the memo.”

    Before you could open your mouth once more and ask if you could stop by a nearby pastry shop and stuff yourself full of crepes and cake, you entered the main terminal and were immediately bombarded by cameras flashing and people yelling.

    “[Name]-sama! We love you!”

    “I LOVE YOU!”

    “What do you have to say about Wisteria’s latest lingerie line? Do you think these styles should be changed to reflect Japanese standards?”

    “[Name]! What are your thoughts on the funding cuts to the women’s centers all around the world?”

    That last one caught your attention. You continued to smile behind your mask and wave, shoving a pair of sunglasses over your eyes, and mimed blowing kisses to the adorable teenage girls holding posters that had ‘you’re my idol’ scrawled over the front. You spotted Kuroo and Sayaka standing somewhere near the back, mostly due to Kuroo’s giant rooster hair, and blew double handed kisses to them as well, although the fanboys in the front thought it was for them and nearly fainted on the spot.

    You watched them sway with a chuckle, then watched Sayaka grab the kisses and press them to her heart with a goofy wink.

    “Hey, Julio?” You didn’t look at the guard as you made your way to the revolving doors in front, watching Kuroo and Sayaka make their way outside to where your car had been parked out of view. “Remind me to send a donation to that women's wayhouse charity by the end of today.”

    “Isn’t that a job for your assistant?”

    “Nope. I fired her.” You shrugged when the guard fixed you with a bewildered look. “What? She stole my nice Louboutins. And had a gangbang in my house in Calabasas, but we don’t talk about that incident.”

    The cleaning crew you had send to bleach down that place had cost you a pretty penny--but Daishou had been kind enough to text you the number of his go-to cleaners (you didn’t ask why, nor did you want to know, but you had an inkling) and had requested that you send him the number of one of your cute co-workers as payment. Needless to say, you had, and that girl had come to work brighter than a lightbulb on Christmas, unusually chirpy and walking just a little bit funny. Your text to Daishou later that day had been along the lines of,’Dear God, Daishou, what did you do, break the poor girl’s hips?’

    His reply had been typical of him. ‘It wasn’t anything she didn’t ask for ;)’

    Your face of disgust had been timed perfectly. You had been sitting outside, eating a parfait--vegan, of course, due to your diet that you planned to ignore in favor of eating all of the meat you could get your hands on (pun might not be intended)--right in front of someone taking candid shots of you for a drama magazine. Your face had been plastered all over Twitter, with some people going as far as to send hate to the nice place you had gotten your dessert from. You had nipped that little situation in the bud, clarifying it was a text that made you make that face and not the dessert, although you didn’t help things when you had been forced to eat a green tea flavored one to prove that you weren’t lying.

    The forced smile you had made to the starstruck owners had been enough to sear it into your memory for eternity.

    “[Name]!” Sayaka’s high pitched exclamation knocked you out of your fantasies of parfaits and coffee. She nearly knocked you down with a hug strong enough to make your spine pop. “I missed you so much! You have to tell me how Moscow was! Did you have a good time? And oh my gosh, you  just have to see Osamu’s shop, it looks amazing!”

    You smiled guiltily at her at that last part, but didn’t say a word. Osamu had asked you to pick out the tiling and countertops, unwilling to trust his own sense of color theory--it was really just awful--and even the tables, which you discreetly paid for and blew off as an anonymous donation. He knew it was you, of course, because who had enough money to pay for genuine marble tables, but he had been kind enough not to say it to your face. Yet.

    “One thing at a time, Sayaka,” you laughed, returning her hug with gusto. You then moved on to Kuroo, who wrapped an arm around your neck and scrubbed his knuckles into your once perfectly curled hair. “Damn it, Kuroo! What was that for? I just wanted a hug!”

    The former Nekoma captain fixed you with a mischievous grin. “That was for dropping twenty thousand dollars into our account without asking for permission.”

    Ah--another one of your random acts of generosity at three in the morning while slightly tipsy. You had Kuroo and Sayaka’s banking passwords and they had yours in case anything happened to them or you, especially with the connections the former Yakuza member had and still kept to this day. You had written them into your will, as well as Osamu, and your fortune would be split between the three of them if you died or wound up missing. Even the contract all of you signed was legally binding.

    “What can I say?” You shrugged when Sayaka looped an arm around your waist, tugging you to your Audi. “I saw that you’d been getting a little low and your college bills were running high. I decided to chip in, like the good friend I am. And no, you can’t give it back.”

    “You know I don’t like taking your money,” Sayaka whined. “I can make my own just fine.”

    You sent an accusing glance her way, followed by a glance to her stomach when Kuroo shook hands with one of your guards. She had the sense to look ashamed at not telling you, at least. “A waitress gig won’t take care of that. And while I’m sure Kuroo makes enough for both of you, I’d like to be a responsible woman and at least pay for your wedding.”

    From behind you, Kuroo laughed. “Who said we’re getting married?”

    “Yeah,” Sayaka said, her tone slightly dimmer than before. You patted her back in comfort and turned your head around to glare at Kuroo, who was only mildly taken aback by the ferocity--he only realized what he had said as you were collapsing into the backseat of your car, squeezing into the opposite window seat as your two friends followed.

    When neither of them opted to break the silence that had developed, you unlocked your phone and shot Osamu a quick text.

'Osamuuuu, what are you doing?'

    When he showed no sign of replying, you sighed and locked your phone again, turning your gaze to the couple sitting awkwardly beside you.

    “Hey, driver, can we stop by McDonalds?” You waved your hand towards the giant yellow ‘M’ down the street--which was also, coincidentally, packed with people. “I want something to eat.”

    “Yes ma’am,” he replied, switching lanes and jerking Sayaka into Kuroo. You grinned at him through the mirror and he did it again; you loved it when your guards pitched in on your plans. “Drive-thru?”

    “No, I think I’ll eat inside,” you winked, and his turn into the parking lot was rough enough to jostle all three of you. “Coffee and hot fudge sundaes, here I come!”

    By the time the guards signaled you that they were done arguing maybe an hour and a half later, you had--admittedly--stuffed yourself far too much on ice cream and piping hot syrup. It would require a harsh workout to get all of the calories off, which you knew Wakkun wouldn’t mind helping you out with since he had a game soon, but you couldn’t bring yourself to regret it as you popped a french fry into your mouth on the way out.

    “Are we done?” You asked, grinning at Kuroo and Sakura from between your guards. You could practically feel the stares from two men sitting at the outside tables, one of them on your legs and the other right on your face. “Then let’s get going. I need a nap before I can do anything else.”

    As you gave Sayaka and Kuroo their food--both of them grinning at you and nudging you playfully--you locked eyes with one of the men sitting at the table.

    And, unknowingly, you had just broken one of Osamu’s most important rules.

    You just didn’t know it yet.

i love all the women of haikyuu so much tbh !

kiyoko is basically a supermodel but she can kick ass, reject men, and Protect her girlfriend without breaking a sweat.

yachi is adorable, really smart, a lil anxious and willing to help out anyone in a heartbeat.

saeko is a whole confident badass, a horrifically reckless driver, more of a heavyweight drinker than coach ukai, and is on a taiko drum team (viva la chest wraps!)

yui is a great captain, always strong and upbeat, and an adorably clumsy flirt.

hana is a responsible momager, (probably constantly) apologizing for terushima’s antics, and she knows how to lecture the team when she needs to (she’s probably a really good mentor for runa too).

yukie is Ravenous Always and probably knows how to deal with bokuto as well as akaashi does.

mika is super cute and genuinely interested in volleyball and she’s got daishou head over heels for her (lucky man honestly).

alisa is literally a russian heterochromia goddess.

akane is the fiercest lil tiger and probably every bit as aggressive as taketora.

natsu is the purest baby just like her brother and she’s definitely gonna be a brilliant volleyball player someday.

i love these women and i can’t wait for them to get some more screen time for s4 ! ! !

Yes and no, depending on at which point in their respective story we’re talking about haha Josh and Chris are in love with each other, and so are Max and Leo (well, their situation is a bit… uncommon, but if I were ever to write their story they’d be together in the end) - I once posted about Gabe and Hector, and by the end of their story they’re in a poly relationship with a girl named Erica I’ve never posted about. Luca has a love (?) interest of sort but he’s not been posted about yet hohoho maybe sometime in the near future. Still deciding about Isa and Ana’s relationship, but maybe. Who knows? That’s about it as far as the ones I’ve posted about go :D

She is!! She’s sort of a jock, a bit of a dummy and really loud, she’s easy to make laugh and got the type of laughter that makes you wanna laugh with her so when she’s around the mood is always a good one! She’s not exactly a social butterfly, but she’s got no problems with socializing, knows by instinct how to bend her behaviour to fit with all types of people and has the incredible ability to have every and all awkward situations fly right over her head, she just doesn’t notice them, and that makes it hard to be anything but relaxed when she’s around. She’s actually how she and Ana got in the group, since she’s gym buddies with Leo! She also really really likes ball sports :D

Ana’s an introvert all the way through, on the other hand - she’s really witty and sassy when she feels comfortable enough, and sarcasm is her preferred way of communicating, but if she doesn’t know you/ too many people she isn’t 100% comfortable with are around she comes off as timid and closed off, smiles politely and barely utters a word - people assume she’s the subdued and shy type at first so once she starts opening up it’s always sort of a shock haha she’s got a scientific mind and while she isn’t a “gifted kid” like Chris she likes to learn and study a lot, which is why she ended up having a real great relationship with Chris specifically out of everyone in the group (they like to nerd out together) (Josh isn’t particularly happy about it, the jelly idiot)

Now. Ahem. Let's discuss why this scene

breaks my heart and why it should pain everyone else too 🥺

So shortly before this gif, we get daishou monologuing for a good minute or two about what's going on in the game. I think he was talking about the rotations, but don't hold me to that. I don't know. I do know that he was very cute and very excited all while he was talking. But then we get this. That sudden moment of "oh shit. i need to shut up" and he begins to apologize. But why? I'm sure most of us speak without feeling the need to apologize, so why is daishou apologizing when all he did was talk about the game?

because mika thought he was boring.

Mika and Daishou break up because he focuses too much on volleyball. She, at some point, calls him boring (which she did apologize for later). But Daishou genuinely loved her and I think that hearing her say that about something that he's passionate about and loves definitely caused some insecurity/emotional turmoil when it came to him talking about what he likes, especially to Mika. And that hurts. Because not to be this bitch but a s/o is really like your best friend. You feel each other everything, you lean on them, they lean on you, etc etc. Imagine having your best friend tell you that they don't want to be your friend anymore because you talk about what you love or even just they explicitly tell you that it's boring. That would sting, wouldn't it!

He's apologizing because he doesn't want her to think he's boring. He doesn't want her to break up with him again 🥺 and he's convinced himself that talking about volleyball makes him boring and that's the last thing he wants to be to Mika. And that's what hurts my heart so bad 😭 the fact that he thinks he has to hide this part of himself away in order for his girlfriend to love him 🥺
