This was originally a video but it was super bright out so I was squinting and making a terrible face the whole time and I’m not about that, so here are some cropped screenshots from the video instead lol.
It’s magpie swooping season here in Australia, as it is every September. I was originally taking photos of the horses around the property, but this family of magpies didn’t take too kindly to my presence. Despite this I think it’s pretty important to stress that it’s nowhere near as huge of a deal as the media makes it out to be.
Swooping season occurs because magpies start nesting. These aggressive behaviours are simply them trying to protect their young. The overwhelming majority of magpies don’t engage in swooping either, with estimates all below 10% of those that do. Additionally, the majority of magpies that do swoop are young males (which is what I noticed during this encounter). Magpies are very adjusted to humans, which is part of the reason why most don’t swoop; they simply don’t see humans as a threat. For this reason, magpie families that are befriended will stop swooping humans they’ve taken a liking to all-together. Though it is worth stressing that while this may prevent swooping, habituating birds to humans to such an extent is dangerous for the birds.
It’s not too difficult to get them to stop. Remaining calm and simply moving on as if you don’t notice them tends to work fairly well. The longer I spent in the area, the less and less they swooped me as they figured out that I wasn’t really a threat. Originally, a young male started the swooping. Then two others, a female and another male, joined in. Over time the other two stopped, and it was eventually just the original male that was still swooping, but at a far lower frequency. The VERY LAST THING you want to do is flail around and make a huge deal out of it! Fighting back, running around, and any other erratic movements are just going to make them see you as a threat. If you’re cycling, dismounting your bike and walking through is not only safer for you, but may make them less likely to swoop as well (as you’re not travelling slower and thus seem less threatening).
Magpies are really wonderful little birds, and to me they’re an absolute joy to see around. I’m sad that they have earned a fairly negative reputation not just overseas, but even within the country somewhat. They’re highly intelligent and social birds, in a very similar manner to corvids. Who, despite the similar appearance, they’re not actually related to! They’re very playful, having been recorded engaging in play with entirely different bird species. They’re even talented mimics! Plus of course, they have a very beautiful song. They’re great little birds, and it’d be nice for more people to see them that way too.

Just a Normal Day
A short drabble about sea grunks having an average adventure, written in honor of their birthday.
Even before they got attacked by the Cthulhu beast, it had been a pretty average morning on the sea for the Pines twins.
Wake up at the crack of dawn (Ford) or closer to late morning (Stan); eat breakfast; reset the spell to ward off the vengeful leprechauns who might still be after them for stealing their treasure in case they’d figured out they were chasing a decoy trail by now; do a little late morning fishing, while keeping an eye out for that golden fish Stan was sure he’d seen swimming under their boat last week, and which he was hoping laid golden fish eggs or something; finally notice what time it was (Stan) and head inside to make lunch.
Just another normal day.
Stan was examining their supplies, trying to decide if it was worth breaking out some of the canned hamburger meat and throwing together sloppy Joes instead of making them eat fish again, when he was knocked skiwampus by the boat being yanked to a halt; as he struggled to regain his balance by grabbing onto the table, a vicious, blood-curdling roar came rumbling through the air from outside.
Stan sighed, and wondered if the kraken was back. In one swift motion he grabbed the spare harpoon they had hanging over the door, and stepped out to see if Ford needed help dealing with it.
It wasn’t the kraken.
It still looked like some kinda big octopus monster, though, with a mass of writhing tentacles where its face should be, and a bulbous head in the back just like an octopus body. The rest of it, at least as far as the torso, was kinda like a human’s but a little bigger (about the size of a baby whale), with slimy-looking green-brown skin and a pair of big, wrinkled, wet wings sticking out of its back. Whatever this thing was, it had grabbed onto the back of their boat, and was looming menacingly over Ford as Stan stepped outside.
“...and you are now my prisoners!” he bellowed, as his piercing golden eyes landed on Stan. “Surrender your weapons now, puny mortals, and I might be merciful!!!!”
“Yeesh, did we trespass on his territory or something?” Stan asked, leaning on the harpoon.
Ford shrugged with one shoulder, since he was trying to write in his journal at the same time. “He didn’t really say; he just jumped onboard and started threatening me.”
“Huh.” Stan looked up at the beast. “You the lord of this part of the ocean or whatever?”
The beast blinked-which looked pretty weird, his eyelids went sideways instead of up and down like humans-before nodding vigorously. “Yes! I am the lord of this part of the ocean, and you must surrender to me now, or else suffer my wrath!!!!” He slammed a fist down against the side of the boat, making it rock up and down so hard he had to scrabble to keep his balance. Stan coughed into his fist to hold back a snicker.
Ford tilted his head. “I could have sworn this was still the primary territory of the Manatee-Merfolk Alliance. Are you sure you haven’t made some kind of mistake?”
“What part of prisoners did you not understand?!” the beast demanded, spreading out his wings and shaking them as his tentacles writhed angrily. “Give up your weapons, now-all of them!!!!”
“...You sure you want that? It’s kind of gonna take awhile-”
“NOW, or I crush your boat in my mighty fist!!!!”
Stan glanced at Ford, who rolled his eyes and nodded. With a small sigh, they began disarming themselves.
********
...A minute passed and they were still at it.
Ford’s pile of weapons was almost as tall as he was, mostly consisting of long-range weapons like guns, but with a few vials of poisons and some handcuffs thrown into the mix.
Stan’s pile was more proportionate, but the number of places that weapons were produced from (including a smoke bomb that he’d somehow managed to keep tucked under his beanie) was frighteningly impressive.
The monster watched their progress with increasingly wide eyes; finally, as Stan produced another set of brass knuckles out of a secret pocket sewn onto the inside of his coat, he spluttered, “...Where were you keeping those?”
Stan just grinned shamelessly. “Trust me, sunshine, you don’t wanna know.”
“Okay, I think that’s everything,” Ford said at last, indicating the pile of weaponry.
“Yeah, well, I’m still workin’, gimme a minute.” Stan produced a switchblade, and tossed it onto his pile. Then, in a brief sleight of hand, he snatched another one from the pile and pretended to draw it out of his coat to toss it on next. “Hey, tentacles-face-ya think you could bring us back by Wednesday? We got a Zoom appointment ta keep, and our niece and nephew hate it when we’re late.” Another sleight of hand allowed him to scoop up another weapon.
“That’s not how this-now see here!” The monster drew himself up to his full height, nearly falling backwards off the boat. “You guys-you puny mortals are my prisoners! And as such, you need to understand that this is not a joking matter! I could squash you both like sea slugs if I wished! I’m all-powerful, an eons-old abomination whose very name would send you into madness if spoken aloud! So you better start quaking in fear and begging for mercy like proper captives!!!!”
Stan looked at Ford. “Sounds like we’re his first.” He looked back at the monster. “You’re doin’ great, buddy-good job on the whole threatening schtick.” He offered a thumbs-up, while using the other hand to snag another weapon that he pretended to produce from another hiding spot.
Ford winked at him, and looked back at their ‘captor.’ “Is this some sort of coming-of-age ritual for your species?” He produced his journal again, pen poised. “Very clever move, by the way, threatening our boat to get us to disarm ourselves. In the future, though, I would suggest that you try taking one of us hostage first, in order to create maximum-”
“STOP IT!”
The monster abruptly started pounding his fists against the side of the boat, nearly tipping it over before instead pitching him all the way onto the deck. “YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO-I’M YOUR-IT’S NOT FAIR-!”
It took Stan a moment to realize that the angry noises leaving his mouth (?) were accompanied by the sound of frustrated sobs.
He hissed through his teeth, and shot Ford a guilty look.
“...Oh boy. Looks like we got a little one here.”
********
Stan crossed the boat and crouched down in front of the weeping monster, putting a hand on his back and rubbing the spot right between his wings.
“Deep breaths, in and out. You’re not gonna get anything done like this, so just take a bit ta calm down, okay?”
The monster hiccuped and coughed, shrinking in on himself in a way that was painfully familiar to both of them.
Ford knelt down at his other side. “Maybe if you tell us why this is so important to you, we can provide some assistance?”
The monster shook his head and buried his head in his arms. “I just wanted-hic-to show my friends I could catch the Pines twins all by myself,” he croaked.
The two old men looked at each other in a mixture of surprise and slight alarm. “...You know who we are?”
That was finally enough to get him to sit up, wiping his eyes with his tentacles. “You kidding? Every creature of the seas knows who you are! You’re the guys who beat up krakens and steal gold from leprechauns and then you and your boat vanish without a trace! You’re the coolest cryptids ever!”
It took both of them a moment to digest that. By the time they did, though, they were grinning in equal delight.
“We’re cryptids?!” Ford asked, eyes practically brimming over with overjoyed tears.
“Yeah! And people at school were sayin’ you’re just a myth, but I knew you were real cuz my uncle saw your ship up in the Arctic last winter, and I was gonna capture you and bring you to class to show everyone how wrong they were and then I’d be famous and they’d stop calling me a weird runt all the time!” After a second his wings drooped, and he stared miserably down at the deck. “...Guess it was pretty dumb of me to think I could catch you all by myself.”
Stan put a hand on his shoulder. “...Kid...as much as we wanna help, we can’t just be your prisoners. We got our own lives ta get back to.”
“Plus, neither of us is able to breathe underwater,” Ford added.
The monster sighed, and pulled a strip of kelp from around his neck, turning one of the leaves until it was facing him. He squirted a stream of black ink from one of his tentacles, and dipped the tip of another one into the ink and used it to trace something that looked like a bunch of gobbledygook to Stan onto the leaf. “Humans...don’t...breathe...underwater.”
Awww...he’s a super nerd, just like Ford and Dipper!
That gave Stan an idea.
“Hey.” He nudged the monster. “What about a picture of us instead? Along with genuine proof of a close encounter?”
The monster’s head jerked up. “A picture?! Like with one of those weird magic boxes you humans carry around sometimes?!”
“That’s the one.” Stan grinned. He looked at Ford and jerked his head towards the cabin; his brother took the hint and headed for it, returning with an antique Polaroid camera that Ford had been experimenting on, but still took good pictures.
The monster’s tentacles began writhing around his face like they’d come to life, and he let out a high-pitched squeal of excitement.
“This is the greatest day of my life!!!!”
********
It took a bit of staging and directing and trying out different angles, but eventually they produced a set of photos that appeared to be of an eldritch abomination in training being attacked by, and bravely fighting off, the ferocious monster hunter Pines twins (hopefully nobody would think to ask how and why the monster had managed to get these pictures taken).
Then, while Stan took them into the cabin and soaked them in a special substance Ford had invented that would render them waterproof, Ford sat on the prow next to the young cryptid enthusiast and offered tips on future hunting adventures, comparing notes with him on some of the creatures they’d both seen. He also (with permission) took a few samples from the monster, including a long strip of skin (“Make it look like a wound I got in the fight! Man, this is gonna be so cool, Yog-Sothoth is gonna eat his heart out! Possibly literally!”) and some of the ink from his tentacles.
When Stan came back with the photos, he also handed over one of his spare brass knuckles that had lost a corner. “Have another souvenir, kid.”
The monster’s tentacles lashed out and wrapped around their faces in what felt like a really weird version of a hug before pulling away, leaving them covered in some of the slimy stuff they were coated in.
“Thank you so much! I really really hope the leprechauns don’t catch you-if they come this way I’ll make sure to eat some of them so they won’t!” He waved at them joyfully as he dived back into the ocean and disappeared.
********
After a moment Stan wiped his face on his coat sleeve.
“...Well, that happened.”
He turned away and began gathering up his weapons.
“Such a strange mixture of childlike innocence and barbarity,” Ford mused as he pulled out a jar and gathered the slime into it for yet another sample. “His culture must be fascinating-I almost wish he would have taken us with him so I could have seen it.”
“You would’ve drowned before you could gather any data.”
“...You don’t know that.”
“He literally didn’t know that humans can’t breathe underwater, Sixer. Not gonna happen.”
He ignored Ford’s sulking and kept cleaning, while musing to himself over the possible monetary opportunities being a couple of cryptids could bring...

Customer Service|Hawks x Reader
Tumblr media
Your job wasn't a really excited one, but it paid well so you didn't care.
It's not like you have a great quirk that would allow you to become a hero even if you wanted to so you were fine with it.
Your job was to supply pro heroes small essentials that they ordered. Such as giving pros a healthy lunch if they forgot it, capture rope for villains, etc.
But you also did other things like photo shoots for magazines, artwork, etc.
For the most part, you didn't care who came in even if they were a popular one, as they were always nice and paitent with you. Even when they weren't the nicest, you didn't have a problem with them.
But for some reason, there is one pro hero who you can not STAND! And that was the Number Two Pro Hero Hawks.
You had never met the guy but just from the talk shows he would be on or what you read in magazines, and how he acted, it just made you so annoyed for some reason. You thought he was a bit of an idiot.
But since you never met him you didn't care all that much.
That was until one very slow and boring Friday at your store.
You were just packing up another lunch into a bento box and in a brown paper bag for the next hero that would come in, when you hear the front door ding as someone walked in.
"Welcome to Hero's Spotlight! How may I help-" But you stop mid sentence when turn around and see the one person who you couldn't stand.
Hawks.
This day just got less pleasant. You think to yourself.
You do your best to keep your friendly smile on as he walked over with his usual smirk. "Hey there. I'm here for a photoshoot for Hero Daily." He tells you. "Oh I see.. well the just step over here for me!" You reply pointing towards the photo equipment.
You grit your teeth as you kept smiling as you don't want to give bad Customer Service otherwise your boss would chew you out with it.
You position him so he's facing the green screen sideways and he stood straight with his hands stuffed in his pockets and he stares off ahead of him.
You were about to take a picture when you noticed his wings wouldn't stop twitching and moving. "I need you to be still! That includes your wings!" You tell him in the NICEST tone and smile you could muster.
"But I can't stay still for long!" He complains. Knowing him, that is entirely possible, as he lives in a fast moving world. You honestly think he goes TOO fast and doesn't take time to stop and enjoy life around him.
"It's just for a second! You'll be fine!" You tell him and he sighs returning to his position. This time he was able to stay still and you got a couple of good shots.
You got a few more pictures in different poses until he was finally done. "Done! Happy now??" You ask, a little bit of hostility in your tone as you didn't want to spend much more time with this guy.
"Finally!" Hawks says with a sigh as he follows you back to the front desk. "I will send these pictures to the editor and that will be ¥1300!" You tell him as you stored your camera down below the counter where it usually went.
"Yes ma'am." He replies giving you the money before heading out of your store. You sigh of relief, glad it was over. Now it was nothing but smooth sailing for the rest of your work shift.
You hoped at least.
The next few days, Hawks kept coming back for either more pictures, or capture rope, or a lunch cuz he forgot to make one.
Each time he visited, you got less and less paitent.
Eventually, you couldn't take it anymore! The day you snapped you were already not having a good day. When Hawks came in and rushed you to get him a special requested lunch packed, you just couldn't take it anymore.
You were tired of his annoying "flirty responses," sarcastic remarks, and pressure of rushing you to get it.
Once again moving in his fast paced world.
"That's it! I'm already having an AWFUL day and I don't need YOU coming in here rushing and stressing me out! I know your world is fast, but you NEVER stop to appreciate it and rush into everything!! But I DON'T like being rushed so could you just be quiet for one second?!"
You tell angrily and immediately guilt had over taken you as Hawks' am, turning to a frown, and h had a blank expression, but you could see the hurt in his eyes.
You sighed and finished packing his lunch before handing it to him. "I'm sorry. Just take your lunch. It's free." You reply as you bowed, not daring to look up at his face as you were ashamed in yourself.
You expected Hawks to reply with his usual optimistic tone.
"Don't worry about it!"
"Nah don't sweat it! It's fine!"
But no. He didn't say anything. You just heard his footsteps walk away and out the door as it rung. You sigh and hide your face with your hands.
That was the worst think you could possibly say.
He was the NUMBER TWO HERO for heaven's sake!
But what was done was done. You couldn't reverse it.
A few weeks pass and Hawks never once returned to your store. You knew why. You knew he was disgusted with you, or hurt by your harsh words and tone. You were immediately regretting how you treated him.
Good news is, your boss hasn't approached you about it so at least he didn't report the situation to her!
But feeling the guilt was worse than any punishment you could ever get from your boss.
One day though, on your day off, you were walking through the relaxing and beautiful park near your apartment complex. You figured by now Hawks probably forgot all about how you yelled at home but even if he did, you could never.
You could never forget the hurt in his eyes and the fact he walked out silently.
You hoped a walk would help clear your head. But low and behold you saw Hawks sitting on a bench a few feet away, looking around.
He had his content smirk on and had casual wear on. And you hadn't realized until now, but as the sun's ray hit him at just the right angle, he looked like an angel from heaven.
You quickly pushed that thought away though as you felt a slight blush appear on your cheeks. You were about to turn and walk the other way, as you couldn't even bare being near him afraid he may yell something hurtful at you.
Which you probably deserved anyway.
But you knew you couldn't run from this any longer, so you decided to take it. You walked over to him and stood in front of him. From the way his smirk disappears again, you knew he recognized you.
You then look down and then get on your knees and bowed to him. "I am very very sorry for how I had treated you at my store. I just ask for your forgiveness! If you want to yell at me, I deserve it." You tell him.
You didn't care if people were watching now, you just didn't want to live with this guilt anymore.
Truth being, he really wasn't all that bad! You were just overreacting! Maybe sometimes he annoyed you but nothing extreme.
That's when you hear Hawks laugh and you look up to see him laughing and smiling before looking down at you. "I was never mad at you! Why would I be mad?" He tells you, and as relived you were by him not being angry, you felt yourself a bit annoyed.
He was never angry yet you suffered the past few weeks, feeling awful and thinking he was mad!
"Look I get it. Everyone just has those days, so I don't care! Infact I'm actually taking your advice now! I decided to slow down today and just enjoy nature." Hawks tells you while he grabbed your hands and helped you back up to your feet.
You then sat down beside him as he stared back at the bright green trees. "You were right about just taking a moment to enjoy life. It relieves a lot of stress as well." He adds while you just stared at him.
You were not only glad he wasn't angry or upset with you, but he also took your advice! You also couldn't get over how he looked like an angel in the light. A handsome one at that.
You felt a light blush before looking forward as well. What were you thinking?! This was the Number Two hero! Even if you did like him, he was busy with life and didn't have time for a partner. Plus you barely knew him.
But you guys talked for the rest of the afternoon before you both get ready to part ways.
"Well this was nice!" You tell him. After getting to know him better, you realized he wasn't at all that bad of a guy. "Yeah! But I never actually got your name." He points out. "Oh right! It's Y/N!" You reply.
"I see. Well, call me Teigo." He says writing something down before handing you the paper. "There's my number so we can keep chatting. See ya around!" He says before walking off.
You blush and close your eyes.
The guilt finally gone.

Taehyung had invited you to hang out with him and the rest of the boys so you didn't see why he was acting so weird all of a sudden, he was being really standoffish towards all of the boys and with you especially.
"What's wrong?" You asked when you finally got a minute alone with him, you'd all gone for a drive around the streets and somehow managed to end up in an abandoned empty pool. Taehyung was sitting on an old mattress holding up a photo of you all, you stared at it and smiled at the memories. You'd all gone to the beach after Jin came back from America and it was great, you'd missed all of them but you all sort of drifted apart when Jin left except you and Tae, you'd always been close since you lived right next door to one another in an apartment block.
"Remember when you ran into the ocean and you complained because your socks got wet?" You giggled looking at the image, Taehyung was staring at the side of your face debating telling you everything he thought about you. He'd had very strong feelings for you since you were teenagers but he would never admit it out of fear of losing you but over the years they'd grown stronger and having you this close to him now was making him want to spill his guts out to you but instead, he was coming across as hostile to try and push you out of his life.
"Nothings wrong." He pushed the photo into your hand and walked away from you sitting in front of one of the pool walls while you watched him, there was something seriously wrong with him and it was starting to bug you. Namjoon's hair was the first thing you noticed when he came to stand with you, it was a bright pink colour with an undercut and it looked great on him,
"Joonie...Has he said anything to you about why he's so-"
"Temperamental?" You nodded at his use of the word and he sat down beside you while you both stared at Tae, he was looking anywhere but over at you both. Whenever he saw you close with the other boys he grew angry wanting them to leave you alone so he could have you to himself.
"No, he seems fine to me. Maybe it's because you're moving soon?" You hummed looking down at the picture, you were leaving to go to university so it meant no more days like this together for a long time.
"I just wish he'd tell me instead of pushing me away and making me feel like shit," Before Namjoon could talk to you Jungkook screamed about going back to Jin's place for a party you looked at Namjoon and he shrugged his shoulders helping you up off the mattress and you all began walking to the car. You stayed a couple of steps behind so you could walk with Taehyung but he put his hood up and shoved passed your shoulder marching to the front with Jin.
"I called shotgun," Jimin pouted when you all reached the car, it was odd Taehyung was normally the first to offer to sit in the trunk of Jin's boot with you and look up at the sky while you drove.
"Come sit with me Jimin, I have an extra blanket." You offered but he stared at Taehyung expecting him to go with you but when he didn't Jimin jumped into the back beside you.
"We need refreshments so stop at Joonie's station," You told Jin through the small window and he agreed, starting his engine and starting the long drive back to the city.
Tumblr media
By the time you reached the gas station where Namjoon worked Jimin was asleep with his head resting on your shoulder so you gave Namjoon your card to get you all drinks while the rest of the boys all filed into the small shop to find snacks leaving you alone in the truck with a sleeping Jimin and a moody Taehyung who was staring out of the window with his hood up.
"You look like an angsty teen Tae," You giggled trying to lighten the mood up a bit but he was having none of it, he shot his head around and gave you a glare only it softened when he noticed that he'd upset you by doing so.
"What did I do to piss you off so much?!" You yelled waking up Jimin, he rubbed his eyes and saw that you and Taehyung were fighting so he tried to get out of the truck as slyly as possible but Tae beat him to it walking down the street so you chased off after him.
"Seriously?! You're going to walk the next 24 miles home?!" You asked him grabbing onto the leather sleeve of his jacket but he shoved you away from him telling you to back off.
"Tae!" You yelled at him and he froze hearing you raise your voice, you never did it and he knew it was because your father was always yelling and screaming at you and you'd sworn never to do it,
"What have I done?! Is it because I'm leaving because I won't be gone that long...My course is a year or two at the most." He kicked the stones down by his feet and shook his head at you,
"It's not the university." You stepped closer to him holding onto his wrist and silently begging him to tell you what was going on in his head.
"I- I just, there's something I have to tell you but you can't tell the boys," You nodded telling him he could always telling you anything that was troubling him. He took your hand in his ready to tell you everything when Jin pulled up at the side of you and he dropped your hand.
"Get in, it's freezing." You both jumped into the back of the truck since it was the only free space now and he pulled the blanket over your body not wanting you to get cold while you drove home in the middle of the night.
"Tell me." You whispered to him but he pointed up at the open window and you nodded asking him to tell you later instead. You laid your head down on his shoulder while Jin drove, it was a natural thing between you to by now but it still made Tae's head spin and sent his stomach into a frenzy of somersaults.
Tumblr media
Spray paint decorated the walls of Jin's apartment since you all regularly partied there - most of the designs on the wall were from Tae since he was the artistically talented one of the friend group - it annoyed you at first whenever they would spray paint the walls but Jin assured you that he wasn't bothered since it was his father paying for the place anyway.
"Drinks!" Jimin cried out going over to the kitchen and pouring everyone something to drink while Yoongi made his way over to the speakers to put on some music for you all to get into the party mood for. Joonie's pink hair caught your eye and you looked over to see him and Taehyung pinning Jin to a wall before spraying around his body online and putting a cross over him making you giggle,
"LOUDER!" You cried out for Yoongi to really blast out the music before joining Hoseok to get a drink from Jimin.
Jin grabbed a video camera filming things happening in the apartment and you giggled as you started dancing with Jimin swinging your hips back against his in time to the music,
"Jimin?!" You both turned to see Taehyung starting at you angrily and you froze not knowing what to do Taehyung had never looked at you that way before but Jimin pushed himself away from you and you pushed yourself against Taehyung, already feeling the effects of five drinks.
"Tae dance with me." You begged him but he grunted pulling you out of the apartment to get you some fresh air,
"You need to work on your tolerance." He chuckled as you walked in front of him.
"You need to work on your mood swings." You shot back at him as you walked over a large bridge that connected Jin's apartment block to another one,
"Y/n I'm sorry." You stared back at him and shook your head, you were still waiting for answers from him.
"Tell me now, we're alone so just tell me what's bothering you." He walked closer to you as you got to the end of the bridge, he walked you down to the river bank and you sat on the wall looking at the water.
"It's nothing really, I'm just really bothered about you leaving I guess. We just got everyone back together," It was only part of a lie but you knew right away it wasn't that that was bothering him,
"You said it wasn't me going away earlier so tell me the truth." You put your hand on top of his and he tensed up at the sparks shooting from the simple touch and you looked at him.
"I like you, I like you a lot y/n." You blinked at him not knowing how to respond to him, you'd seen it in all of the movies when the crushes would finally admit their feelings but you were brain fried. Nothing was working and all you knew what to do was lean in and kiss him passionately, he smiled against your lips knowing this meant you felt the same way and his hands worked into your hair pulling you closer to him as you made out in front of the river.
Tumblr media
When you got back to the party everything was quiet, the music was off and there was blood on the stairs where Yoongi was sitting and holding a bag of frozen peas to lip while Jungkook was holding a bag on his knuckles,
"Don't ask." Muttered Jin as he went on the hunt for a first aid kit,
"I'll take Y/n home," Taehyung said as he noticed the party was going to continue anymore, you only lived a short walk from Jin's place and he walked you both out of the apartment complex telling Tae to text him when you both got home safe.
"Can I stay at yours tonight?" You questioned as you walked back to your apartment hand in hand, Taehyung thought about it for a moment trying to come up with some kind of excuse for why you couldn't but you could read him like a book.
"Is your dad drinking again?" He nodded slowly and you looked at his hands, he was starting to shake at the anger he had for his father.
"Well, we'll take your sister to mine and then we'll have a big sleepover like we used to." He agreed with you finding comfort in being away from his dad for one night but he knew it was only going to get harder when you left for college.
"She'll be locked in my room so when we go in be quiet." You knew the rules of sneaking around Taehyung's house after his dad had been drinking all day it was nothing new to either of you.
"You grab her and I'll get her things." You whispered as you entered through the apartment door, the lights were all off and there were empty glass bottles of Soju and beer everywhere so you knew the man was wasted by now or passed out in the apartment somewhere.
As Taehyung came back into the living room he glanced at you and you told him you were fine,
"Take her to mine and I'll get her things," Her room was right behind Taehyung's dad so you were doing your best to sneak through when a glass bottle slipped from the table and smashed onto the floor alerting him that someone was in the apartment.
"You!" He screamed getting up from the sofa making you back up a little but you knew there was only wall behind you until you got to Taehyung's sisters door,
"Mr Kim. It's just me, Y/n." You were shaking as you tried to tell him it was you but he was too drunk and in a rage to see sense.
"YOU FUCKING LEFT US!" He screamed out slapping you across the face sending you stumbling backwards into the wall, Taehyung was standing in the door when he heard you scream and everything just sort of morphed together as you heard him yelling then his dad was pushed against the wall beside you.
"TAE!" You cried out as he took a broken bottle and began hitting his father in the stomach with it repeatedly, you tried to cry out and make him stop but he was in a blind rage that someone had even touched you like that and he couldn't think straight. He'd finally snapped and had enough of his dad hitting him, his sister and now you. The person he loved the most in the world.
"Taehyung!" You cried out and he stumbled backwards dropping the broken glass onto the floor and watching as his dad's body slumped down onto the floor in front of you both. The room fell silent and all that could be heard was Taehyung's panting as he realised what he had just done, he raised his hands to his face and ran them through his hair.
"Shit." You whispered as you heard the sirens coming from down the road, you rushed into Taehyung's bedroom grabbing his passport and then coming back out and finding him still staring at his hands in silence staring at the blood that had coated them.
"Tae, with me now." You cried out and he stood up following you out of the apartment and down towards the garages where no one ever went because they were 'scary' at night. You lifted up the door to yours and sat Taehyung inside handing him a bottle of water you'd grabbed from the apartment and he stared at his hands.
"Tae. Don't move okay, I'll be back in a couple of minutes. Don't move." He said nothing and you rushed out of the garage pulling the door down and locking it from the outside so you could get back in and Taehyung couldn't get out just yet.
You walked up to your apartment telling his sister that his dad was being taken away by the police and she was confused as to what was happening,
"Just stay here and if anyone asks you haven't seen us okay?" She nodded as you walked around your apartment hunting for things,
"What are you looking for?" She was 17 and wasn't stupid so she knew that something had happened in that apartment but if you told her that her dad was never going to be able to hit her again then she didn't care.
"I need my phone, charger, passport and money." She rushed around your bedroom knowing where everything was since she was always there and you smiled at her,
"It'll all be okay." You promised and she hugged you telling you to take care of Taehyung and you knew in that moment she knew something awful had happened but you would never be able to explain what had happened to anyone. You didn't even want to remember what had happened in that apartment but it was going to be forever sketched into the back of your mind,
"Wait-" You stopped still when you noticed a police man going towards the apartment next door and once he went inside you walked down the staircase and out into the street sprinting in the direction of Jin's apartment.
Tumblr media
"I need your truck keys." You ordered as he opened the door, he frowned at the sight of you. You were drenched in sweat and carrying a huge bag as you pushed your way into the apartment, you were shoving food and water into the bag when he handed you the keys without questioning anything. You rushed into his room next grabbing clothes and throwing them into the bag, you couldn't stay in yours and you knew you were going to have to find a way to burn Taehyung's.
"I'll bring it back soon. My mums keys are in her top drawer at my place, go there tomorrow for her car if you need it." He tried to question you on everything as he followed you down to where he had parked the truck but he didn't know where to start, you checked inside the car to make sure the blankets and pillows were all there.
"Do you still have all that old camping equipment in the back?" You asked not waiting for an answer and going to check the hatches in the truck boot everything was inside.
"Will you slow down?!" You stared at him and he looked back at you only not noticing the blood on your white shirt and on your face.
"What happened-"
"I can't explain. Just- You never saw us." He watched as you jumped into his truck before speeding off back in the direction of your apartment, he rushed into his trying to call you but you sent his number to voicemail not knowing how much time you had until the police were swarming the apartment complex looking for you both.
"Taehyung! Move!" You whispered to him but he was in a state of shock and he wasn't even aware of anything happening around him until you forced him into the back of the car laying him down on the seats.
"How did you wash your hands?" You asked looking at his now clean hands and he pointed over at the empty water bottle and you nodded at him getting into the driver's seat and leaving the scene.
Tumblr media
Taehyung was staring at you as you got out of the truck, you'd been driving for the last four hours and it was still pitch black outside but you were right on the edge of town in the middle of the woods. Nothing around for miles except an old abandoned house that you and the boys found one day when you went for a road trip, no one knew it even existed since it was all out in the middle of nowhere. You walked around to Taehyung's side of the car and helped him out grabbing the bag from the boot and then taking him into the house.
"Sit." You told him as you threw down the bag onto an old mattress which was on the floor, you remembered bringing it up one summer when you all came out here for a party together. Just to get away from everything at home but you never thought you'd be back like this,
"Take your clothes off." You mumbled to him as you handed him some of Jin's clothes but he just stared at them as you started to strip out of your clothes he didn't even look up at you.
"Tae?" You questioned shaking his shoulder and he stared up into your eyes his were filled with tears as reality came crashing back to him over what had just happened and where he was now. You tugged his shirt off him and added a clean black one over his shoulders before telling him to change into the black jeans.
"Can you get my purse from the bag?" He did as you asked and watched as you struck a match lighting up some paper in the fireplace that was in the house. You began throwing the bloody clothes onto the fire and he stared at you as he sat back down on the mattress,
"Aren't you scared of me?" You heard him finally speak and you slowly turned around to look him in the eyes, he was crying as he realised what had happened and he'd just killed someone and you moved closer to him the warmth of the fire hitting you even from far away.
"You did what you had to do Tae, it was self defence." He shrugged his shoulders,
"I just hope the police see it that way when I go to them." You shook your head at him,
"T-Tae no, you can't go to them, we can't go back there. We keep driving and driving until we can't drive anymore." You took hold of his hand and he stared at the way you interlocked your fingers.
"I killed my dad-"
"And I covered it up, we're both criminals now." He swallowed the lump that was in his throat and you knew it was getting late now,
"We need some sleep before we start driving tomorrow night. Get some rest." You laid him down on the mattress and he pulled you down to lay in front of him. Neither of you spoke but neither of you were asleep,
"Why did you help me?" He questioned out of the blue and you looked down at his arms that were wrapped around your waist,
"I love you...You did what you did to protect me Tae and I'll do what I have to to protect you." He hummed and you snuggled back against him hoping he would fall asleep soon.
Tumblr media
Stirring woke you up at first and then came the yelling in his sleep,
"Tae." You grumbled trying to shake him awake but it was no use, it had been a month since you went on the run and so far there was no information about the murder being connected to you both but you didn't want to risk going back yet. Taehyung was having vivid nightmares though he would never tell you what any of them were about it wasn't that hard to guess when he would yell out your name before crying in his sleep.
"Y/n?!" You pulled him against your chest as he cried out about another nightmare, you had hoped they would calm down but they hadn't yet.
"We have to go back." He whispered to you but you shook your head telling him there was no going back now, whatever was back there was gone.
"Jin will want his truck back soon." You knew Jin was after his truck, he'd been leaving you countless voice messages full of questions and concerns for you both the last one was still playing over in your head.
''We know what happened, come back so we can help you.'' Taehyung had heard the message and was convinced that they would help you but all of you were in your early 20's what could you possibly even do to get away with a murder except run.
"Maybe if we go and see them..." You looked at Taehyung knowing he missed them but he was missing his sister more. You'd been getting regular updates from her about what was happening, the police had no leads and you were off the suspect list since her and Jin had come together to say you had left at 10 that night to go on a romantic getaway
"We go, we see them and we leave." You told him as you loaded up the car, you'd been driving around for the last month and you were in desperate need of a shower that wasn't in a crummy small gas station with no hot water.
"We can restock on supplies while we're out." You nodded at him and began the long drive back to the boys. Calling Jin and telling him to meet you out at the abandoned pool with supplies and Taehyung's sister deciding it was the safest bet for you both.
Tumblr media
"Tae Tae!" His sister screamed wrapping her arms around her brother as soon as she came in sight of him, he bent down hugging her tightly while Jin came over to you.
"Where are the boys?" You whispered taking the bags of clothes he was giving you,
"I told them not to come, it's best they're not connected. Here." He handed you a large brown envelope and you looked inside to see fake passports and a bunch of money inside. There had to be around 6 grand in there and he handed you a black credit card,
"For when you get to America. There's tickets in the bottom, you're a newly wedded couple going on a honeymoon." You shook your head at him,
"Jin Tae wants to come back, we're safe the police don't think we're-"
"The police haven't told anyone anything but I know they think it's you guys, you have to get him out of Korea." You looked over at Taehyung who was still hugging his sister and then you noticed Jin had suitcases behind him.
"There's more money and clothes inside to keep you both going and to make the wedding seem believable." He slipped a diamond ring onto your finger while you were still trying to process everything he was saying to you,
"You have to talk to Tae, he won't listen to me if I tell him." There were faint sirens in the distance making you flinch and look around, Taehyung stared over at Jin and you took his sister away to talk to her about anything else except this.
Tumblr media
The airport was rammed full with people all getting ready to leave on their holidays while you and Tae walked through hand in hand and carrying bags behind you.
"You okay?" You questioned as you noticed him frantically looking around,
"I feel like we're being watched." You were in an airport the furthest away from Seoul as you could get there was no real reason why he should feel like he was being watched but once he said it you began to notice it too it felt like eyes were burning into the side of your head. That was when you really took a look around and noticed that none of the people going on holiday looked like they were going on holiday, they were just walking around aimlessly trying to look busy.
"Tae." You whispered as you reached the gate of your flight,
"It's a setup." You whispered again as you got to the flight attendant who looked uneasy and nervous about having to talk to you.
"FREEZE! You're surrounded! Don't make any sudden movements, Kim Taehyung you're under the arrest for the murder of Mr Kim. Anything you say can and will be held against you in a court of law! Do I make myself clear?!" He held his hands up and nodded as he got down onto his knees holding his hands behind his head but you frowned.
"No! He didn't do anything wrong! This isn't his fault!" You cried out and then guns were aimed at you, people who were really at the airport for holidays screamed out in terror and you shook your head.
"He was defending me!" A gun shot rang through the air sending the airport into a massive frenzy people rushing around trying to leave when an office tackled Taehyung to the floor.
"Don't touch him!" You screamed out but another shot rang through the air and you let out an banshee like scream.
"Tae! Tae!?" You whimpered as you felt the warm blood leaking from your side, Taehyung elbowed the officer in the face when he noticed the blood on the white shirt you were wearing.
"Y/n! Y/n!" The officer let him go when he rushed over to your side holding you close to him and putting pressure on your right side where the bullet had hit you.
"What happned?!" You held your hand over the blood as you questioned him and he shook his head at you,
"You got shot baby, it's okay. It's okay! GET A FUCKING AMBULANCE!" An officer came closer to try and arrest Taehyung but he shook his head,
"I will go with you when she's fucking safe!" You gripped onto his arm as a pain rushed through your body making you whimper out his name,
"Don't shout baby, you'll be fine. You did it to protect me, self-defence." You reminded him and he sat down on the floor holding you close to him to keep the pressure on the wound.
"Am I okay?" You questioned as you started to feel dizzy,
"You're okay baby, you're okay! AMBULANCE! PLEASE!" He begged and the same officer who had shot you was calling an ambulance to the scene. A second officer took off his jacket and laid it down on the floor so Taehyung could lay you down and he was sobbing,
"Taehyung you have to go with us." You gripped onto his hand as the shaking began to happen, you were getting colder by the second.
"I'm cold Tae, hold me." You begged him and he looked at the officer pleading with him to stay by your side until he knew you were going to get taken care of.
"We'll look after her-"
"YOU SHOT HER!" He yelled out making you flinch as you felt him moving too quickly, you hissed as he touched the wound that was still leaking blood out.
"I called you! I told you where we would be and to arrest me! You didn't have to shot her!" You frowned not processing everything but just that he was the one that had turned himself in to the cops,
"You did this?" You whispered feeling tired, your words were slurring and Taehyung looked down at you.
"I did it for us, baby, I did it so we wouldn't have to keep running." You were starting to gasp for air when Taehyung screamed for the ambulance to hurry up,
"They're getting here as fast as they can." The officer who was talking with Taehyung said and Tae gripped you tightly.
"I want to go home Tae." You whispered looking up at him as he looked down at you nodding frantically,
"We'll go home, I know. We'll go home and we'll be okay." He told you as he held you in his arms, craddling your head in his arms as you stared up at him. You were no longer shaking from the cold it was numb to you now, it was as if you couldn't feel the wound anymore either.
"I want to go home," Your eyes were rolling backwards and he gripped your face in his hands not caring that he was getting your blood on you.
"Look me in the eyes, look me in the eyes Y/n." You stared at him trying to keep your eyes open but it was a losing battle as you whimpered out before coughing up blood,
"No, no, no baby, No." He groaned as you spat the blood out beside you,
"That's a lot of blood." You slurred and he shook his head at you,
"You're going to be fine Y/n, okay. I'll get you home. I'll take you home, let's go home." You nodded at him and he cradled you in his arms.
"We can go home." You repeated back to him and he pulled you closer trying to keep you warm when your eyes rolled backwards.
"No, Hey! No!" He started rocking you back and forth in his arms as he cried out for the ambulance to get there to you.

Taehyung stared down at you in the hospital bed as the beeping of your heart filled the room, you'd been hooked up to the machine for the last four months and you hadn't shown any sign of improvements.
"You need to go home and shower," Hoseok said when he came in to take over Taehyung's shift of watching over you. They were all taking it in turns to watch you in case something happened,
"What if she wakes up..."
"Then go and shower in the nurse's lounge, they already told you that you could." Hoseok sat down where Taehyung had been sitting and Tae kissed the top of your head going to find the nurse and ask where he was supposed to go.
"You've got to wake up you know, he's going insane and I think you're the only one that can convince him to shower properly." Hoseok joked as you laid there, he sighed going back to his phone.
The machine began to beep quicker than usual and Hoseok lifted his head up to see you stirring in your sleep, trying to rub your eyes but the IV drip was stopping you from moving your arms.
"Y/n?!" He asked and you turned to look at him squinting due to the bright light in the room and he rang the nurse's bell to get their attention.
"H-Hobi? Where's Tae?!" Your voice was coming out hoarse as you begged for answers but nurses were rushing into the room shoving him out.
"Where's Taehyung?!" You screamed but no one was answering your questions they were too busy trying to assess you and note everything done about you. Taehyung was standing in front of Hoseok in a pair of sweatpants and a top, his hair drenched.
"She woke up?!" You looked through the window as you heard his voice and you begged the nurses to leave you alone and that you were fine.
"Tae?!" He sprinted into the room cupping your face and looking at you to make sure he wasn't dreaming,
"What happened?! How are you here?! Why aren't you in prison?!" He chuckled as you fired of questions for him and he sat down in the chair next to you going on to explain everything.
"You had a trail?" He nodded and sighed taking your hand in his,
"I was supposed to hand myself in to get less of a sentence and we proved it was self-defence, my sister took the stand to speak about what he used to do to us and a neighbour took to the stand to tell them about it as well...Witnesses came forward to talk about how nice we both were when we were on the run and it lowered the charges. I was charged with running from a crime scene as well as tampering with evidence but I got away with a month community service once they played the footage of us in the airport." Your side hurt at the thought of the airport again and he sighed kissed your hand gently.
"You have no idea how long I've waited for you to open your eyes." He whispered kissing your forehead and then your hand again,
"Four months is a long time." You joked laying your head down on his shoulder, he smiled softly for the first time in months truly happy that you were awake and by his side once again.
"I love you." He whispered to you as you linked fingers together,
"I love you too." You repeated back to him.

writer: yellow hippo
genre: short story, fan fiction, slice of life
synopsis:
1 train ride. 2 struggling souls. 3 things - Realizations. Friendship. New journey. Where would their last stop be?
character/s: kim taehyung [ace], jade [oc]
story:
•  𝓘 𝓶𝓲𝓼𝓼 𝓽𝓱𝓮 𝓽𝓪𝓼𝓽𝓮 𝓸𝓯 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓵𝓲𝓹𝓼 𝓸𝓷 𝓢𝓾𝓷𝓭𝓪𝔂  •
It was just one Sunday when we met. You were sitting there, staring out the window as the buildings pass us by. It was so serene. It was as if you were at peace. I had my own smile then as I stood in front of you. I couldn't hide my fondness of how you looked. So calm. I wish I was too. For moment, at least, I was. Thanks to you.
"Have a seat, miss." Your deep and husky tone brought me out of my trance. I stared at you, paling as I realized i must've looked dumb with a smile on. "Oh! Uhm. Thanks." I stuttered back as I sat in your place, my head down, eyes on your shoes. I couldn't raise my head up, still shy and stunned. Also because my anxiety started to creep back in as people stared when I sat. It was too much. Why is sitting down such a big deal? Should it be? What's wrong with me? But then I hear you again and everything just melts inside me. Your laugh was so cute. It made the smile creep back up my face. My eyes still trained on your feet, I noticed how they kept on moving. You might be having a hard time balancing? The train ride is not a smooth one especially now that the trail kept making zigzags. "Have a seat, mister." I patted the now empty space beside me, hoping that you would take the seat beside mine. You smiled down at me as you occupied the seat. Your smile is so blinding. It leaves me breathless. How can one train ride make you smile? Is it the view? Is it the fact that it's a Sunday, families buzzing on the ride as they make small talk of their one-day vacation? How I wish I could smile genuinely like you.
• 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝗯𝗼𝗱𝘆 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘁, 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗽𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂. •
It was so embarrassing how I kept missing my balance. Her eyes were always on my feet. I feel like I'm being judged. Is it too obvious that this was my first train ride ever? I must look so pathetic.
"Are you okay?" The girl asked me after some moments of silence between us. I laughed awkwardly, my sweaty palms hidden behind my neck.
"That obvious, huh?"
"Obvious?" Her eyes, my favorite shade of green that I can't put a name on, stare at me. Question marks all over her face.
"Yeah. Obvious that this was my first train ride?" My voice so low, not wanting anyone else to hear me.
"Oh, it is?" She covers her mouth as she giggles quietly. "Don't worry. It's our secret then."
She smiles so sweetly. No judgement in her voice and eyes. Why couldn't I have met her sooner? Why now when everything is-
"Hey? Don't think too much about it. Everyone has their own first experience on train rides. I did too."
Warm. So warm. The sun from the window feels so warm as she talks about her first train ride when she was in high school. She was fun to talk to. No awkward silence once she remembers another story in the middle of her current one.
"So, where's your stop?" She takes a breath as she finishes her story.
"No where. I mean-" I couldn't stop the laugh that escaped me. Her face when was priceless. And she even dare ask if I was homeless or if I ran away. She was willing to take me in, a total stranger, in her home.
Why did I have to meet her? Why just now? The year has what? More than 300 days and I had to meet her at the most unconventional time of my life.
I told her how I just wanted a look at the city from a different view since my hotel window, although better than any paintings in my hotel room, was getting too repetitive for me. Always the same view of the same city. I told her how suffocated I felt even if I was free to leave anytime. I told her how I wanted to have my windows change views every time I wake up.
"I hate routines." The train arrived at it's next stop. People come and go. "So, your stop?" I added quietly, my eyes passing by her own green ones before coming back to the train windows.
"I get down at the last station. That's where my school is. Just a few minutes of walking after this long ride."
"Last station it is, then."
• '𝓒𝓪𝓾𝓼𝓮 𝓘 𝓭𝓸𝓷'𝓽 𝓱𝓪𝓿𝓮 𝓲𝓽 𝓲𝓷 𝓶𝓮.•
"Last station it is, then."
A joyrider. Must have all the time in the world. Nothing but views to think of.
"A photographer?" I asked the man as I spot his camera bag.
"Hmm. You could say so, yeah, I guess?" Again, I am met with a serene smile.
A click and a flash caught me off guard. My eyes see green spots for a moment as I try to blink away the blurriness.
"Sorry about that." He chuckles as he puts his camera away.
"You shouldn't have done that. Nothing worth to see here." I gesture over my face, my palms sweating as I try to laugh my anxiety away. Not here Not now. Not even after the people has moved on from the quick flash of light from our seat. Not ever, please.
"Hey. Are you ok, miss? I'm really sorry. I just wanted a candid shot of you because-"
"Yes, I'm ok. Just not used with cameras and all. Those things hate me that they almost always break after having me as their target."
"How come? Well, I think my camera likes you. Not broken at all. See?" He takes out his camera and offers it to me.
He shows me the photo he took of me, as well as his hotel room window view. He showed me a picture of him with his dog. A picture of him and his older brothers. Pictures of other places he's been to. Beautiful. Everything he took a picture of was beautiful. Even the one he took of me. I looked normal. I looked surprised, but happy. Like I had no worries aside from the butt sore I would get from sitting down from this long train ride.
He took his camera back. He stared down at it on his lap, his serene smile never leaving his lips as my candid shot reflects on the screen. I can't help but smile as well. I laughed lightly. At least someone appreciates me even in an unconventional way.
• 𝗜𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 '𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿. •
Another stop up ahead and we fell in the most comfortable silence I have ever felt. My eyes shift to the books on her lap and some paper peaking in the middle pages of the book. Interesting. Mythology?
"Which program are you in?" I pointed towards her stack of books on her lap as I asked her.
"Literature student. And film. I'm actually taking two majors-" A sigh and a content smile on her face. "-got in both programs for being a scholar since I was younger."
"Whoa. You must be smart then. Congrats!" I offered her my hand and can't help but chuckle at how tiny her hands are. Tiny and soft. So fragile.
"What's so funny?" Her nose is scrunched up as she hits my shoulders lightly.
"Ah nothing. Your hands. They're just so small. So delicate like some kind of petal. If you squeeze too much, it might break."
She opens her hands and stretches her fingers, massaging them, a small pout on her lips.
"They'll grow longer you'll see."
"Wanna bet?" I asked, smirking her way. "Once you've written a book or published any kind of film, I should be one of the first few to see the finished product. Call?"
Her face falls and takes a deep breath.
"That might not happen anytime, mister. I might die of old age even before doing anything out of my dreams." She looks down her shoes and I noticed a tear drop on her book.
Looking at her slumped shoulders, I could not help myself from rubbing circles on her, hoping it could somehow calm her down. But her shoulders shiver even more now, hiccups irregularly escaping her every breath.
"Sorry. I'm so sorry about this. God what's gotten into me. Must be because I only got a few hours of sleep. So many papers due this month. Professors bombarding us with papers before letting us actually breathe for the summer."
I offer her my handkerchief as she starts rubbing her at her eyes angrily.
"Eyeliner-" She points at her lids. "I might get this dirty."
"Nah. You might need it for later as well. Like you said. Summer. We can't have you sweating. I need my subject all fresh and pretty." I put the handkerchief just on top of her books and look down at our shoes instead, humming quietly as she wipes her tears away.
"This is nothing. I am nothing. I won't be able to agree with the bet even if I wanted to."
"Hey. It's ok. You're ok. It might be a long train ride-" I chuckle as her eyes crinkle from giggling. "-but you'll be something. You are already something. No. Someone. A someone worth the wait at the end of the ride. You'll make it something. I trust that. At least have my trust when you feel like nothing, alright?" I point at my handkerchief as I pat her head.
'You are already being something by not running away from your dreams. You already are making something. A progress that I crave for myself.'
The train chugs on as we roll back to another silence.
•  𝓦𝓸𝓾𝓵𝓭 𝔂𝓸𝓾 𝓵𝓸𝓸𝓴 𝓭𝓸𝔀𝓷 𝓪𝓽 𝔂𝓸𝓾𝓻 𝓯𝓮𝓮𝓽? •
I kept my stare down, afraid of the judging eyes all around me - beside me - if I look back up. I look like a panda. Or worse, a clown. Great. I just ruined my make up. I have no time to retouch since I have reporting on my first class. What a reporter. A clown. An ugly clown who has nothing on her once the 'train ride' ends. It was always nothing.
Fighting for what I want has always been useless. I just made myself into the nothing that I am and will always be. Why did I even bother accepting the scholarship program? I won't be the writer that I want to be nor the film director that I always dream of being. I'll crash in an office job after graduation just to earn for a living. Who am I kidding. My dreams can't feed my family. I'm so selfish for wanting this when I won't be anything by then.
I can't bring myself to look up. He's something at least. He's traveling everywhere and taking the places he's visited with him.
"You're the something between us, mister." My head still down, but I saw him turn away from the window and towards me. A hum. But why does it sound so hopeless? So lost? My eyes veer away from my shoes to his. Black leather shoes. So shiny. Reminds me of his eyes.
"Something. Huh." He stands as I feel someone else take his place beside. Did I scare him Off? Only then did I look up and see him standing in front of me, he smiles down at the old lady now in his place. I smile at the lady as well as she nods and smiles towards us both.
"I might be something to someone, but I'm nothing to myself." He sighs, his smile turning melancholy as I stare up. I was about to contradict him but he surprises me as he suddenly kneels from where he stands. I avoid his eyes by looking behind me. A slight rain has made the window all blurry to see outside. I feel a sudden tug on my shoes and I look down at him.
"I'm running away from everything and making myself fall into nothing. But you? You're running into something. You might feel like it's nothing, but the fact that you're running towards something. Well. That's something. Something from the nothing like me who runs away from everything." He whispers low, only for my ears to hear.
He stands back up as I stare down at my shoes, knots tied perfectly in place, not knowing of what to make of what he just said.

It's been silent for the past stops now. Both of us stuck with our own thoughts. But it's not awkward nor uncomfortable. Just a little heavy on the heart because just one more stop and it's the end of the track. What more is there to talk about? She said so herself that there won't be any betting. Her dreams and mine all getting further away as the train chugs forward. At least she fought somehow. I just ran and hid for as long as I can. But this has to end. Every ride has to end.
"So." She cleared her throat as the final announcement for her stop is heard over the speakers. "This is my stop, mister?"
"Ace Wilson. And please, drop the 'mister'. I graduated just a few months ago. Not as old as you think." I chuckled as I held my hands towards her, offering help her with the books.
"Jade Myers. Or just Jade. Thanks." She smiled as she put a book on my waiting palms. "Are you sure I'm not messing your schedule?" She smiles up at me, her height reaching just above my shoulders. What a tiny thing and yet she is fighting a battle. Winner or not, it's the effort that counts, right?
"Schedule? What schedule? Like I said. I'm just running away from everything. Might as well take a break from all that before I run further. There's no rush for me."
She leads the way. The road, or rather the gravel path, making scrunching noises every stomp of our foot. It was enough noise to cover the silence we've wrapped our self into.

I look up at him, my eyes squinting close because of the sun, as we near my school gates.
Just a name and his little stories. That's all there is to him. Questions he will leave though. Questions that I will be facing after losing my fight.
Will he start his own battles when I end mine? Would his run bring him somewhere? Would I meet him again someday when I start running away, or 'if' I run away? Will I stop where he is if I do run? What then? Why stop?
I may know his name, but he will remain a stranger to me.
"Thanks again, Ace." I grab my book from him as I wave goodbye, entering the school gate. He stands there, his serene smile back from when I first saw him. Back from where we started.
Strangers, with only names.

I wish I rode a different train cart. Or maybe I should've never rode a train in the first place. I could've ridden a plane and flew back to where people were waiting for me. I could've stayed home and not get lost. I could've continued fighting even if I see myself losing. At least I fought and lost with no regrets. There is harm in trying, but there is also knowledge. Knowing that you fought though you knew your fate is a win in itself. You at least fought. Your fall would not be in vain.
Why did I have to meet Jade in the most inconvenient time. She left me with regrets. But also a new found determination to fight. I will keep running. But this time, I will run towards my dream. I'll fight if I have to.

The thought of just running away keeps climbing up my 'to-do list' once I graduate. Should I really just run from the reality my family wants to thrust upon me and go for what I want instead? Yes. Yes I do want to run. I want to be what I want to be. I want to continue being selfish. I want to keep fighting. Is the fight and the run worth all that I'll leave behind?
My heels clack on the corridor as I run to my first class. Looking like a clown for my smudged make up, but who the fuck cares? I've decided to fight. The smudge got nothing on the blood I will shed for my win. I can always wipe it all away.
A serene smile left my own lips as I dug his handkerchief out of my pocket. Yes, I can always wipe away the blood shed and run.
I want to feel the wind on my face and fingertips. I want the shiver of excitement. I want to feel. I want to be free.
And I will be, because I'm running away.
I open the door to the classroom and I know that my run has begun. No turning back. The whistle started the race.
I'm running away.

Strangers.
Having different tracks, but the ride would end at the same station. Not once but twice would their fates collide. But for now one train is moving onward and the other stops at a station. But they will again meet at the end of the track.
For now, they are simply Jade Myers and Ace Wilson.

Real thing | 5: An unexpected guest speaker
Tumblr media
GIFS NOT MINE. THIS IS ALL FICTION. Genre(s): mafia!au / hacker!au Group(s): NCT Pairing(s): Qian Kun x fem!reader / Jung Jaehyun x fem!reader Summary: (Y/n), a college student who joined WayV ─ an international crime organization ─ for some extra cash as one of their hackers. But what happens when she gets mixed up in a lot more heavy stuff than only sitting behind a computer and disabling security cameras? Warning(s): A panic attack happens at the end, so be prepared if it triggers you [Masterlist]  [Mini masterlist]
Tumblr media
It’s been a month or so since the cafe incident and I haven’t heard or seen Qian since then. Thank God he keeps up his own anonymity policy.
Qian Kun has this rule that he shouldn’t know the faces of certain departments, IT in specific. It keeps him and his employees save. Once someone gets recruited they only know the people closest to them and someone from Qian’s inner circle.
YY and Lucas are the only faces I knew before I accidentally saw a photo of Qian on YY’s screen.
YY had to do a background check on someone and accidentally opened Qian’s file when he wanted to show me how he did it.
Of course, my first thought ─ like probably every other female he came across ─ is that he’s handsome. Not the big and buff way of handsome with a sixpack and a V line where you can cut fruit with.
But the timeless kind of handsome. He’s still young but has a mean stare, thick eyebrows, and an okay bone structure. Not like that makes sense, but for him it does.
So imagine my surprise when, the first thing I see when I walk in my first class of the day, I see Qian himself standing next to the teacher, talking to him.
I quickly take place in the back of the class next to Ah Ran, one of my girlfriends, to hide between the masses without him seeing me.
“Who’s that?”, I ask her in a whisper as we grab our laptops out of our bags.
“I don’t know”, she replies with a shrug, “isn’t that the guest speaker of today? The one about business strategies?”
I look back to the front and my eyes lock with Qian. I gulp before quickly looking away. This couldn’t be any worse.
“Settle down everyone.” Mr Li’s voice booms over everyone’s muffled chatter and the whole room grows quiet.
“Today we have a guest speaker. This is Qian Kun, he owns a small business in the economics field and will be telling you guys about the ins and outs of economics.”
I swallow thickly, what is he planning? Qian is lucky this isn’t my class with Jaehyun. Otherwise, it would have been a total disaster.
Tumblr media
The hour passes slowly, with me not concentrating on any of Qian’s words. I feel his intense stares on my figure but I try my hardest to ignore it. The girls around me giggle, thinking he’s looking at them.
After the presentation Qian prepared finally turns black, Mr Li reminded us to finish our paper on business strategies with the newfound information of Qian, he dismisses us.
“Hey, can I take a look at your notes after school? I couldn’t keep my attention to the presentation”, I ask Ah Ran as I quickly put my laptop in it’s designated spot in my bag.
She rolls her eyes but complies. “Only if you buy me lunch.”
I laugh and push her hair away from her shoulder. “For you and your amazing notes, anything.” Ah Ran and I walk down towards the exit when Mr Li stops me.
“(Y/n), can you come here for a second.”
I stop in my tracks and look at Ah Ran. “Go to your class, I have a free period after this anyways.”
I turn around with a fake smile and walk towards Mr Li and Qian. “Yes, professor?”
“Can you accompany Mr Qian to his car. The building is such a maze for someone outside our organisation..” Mr Li laughs a charitable chuckle, Qian joining him with cold eyes and I nod, knowing that I have no choice but to see Qian out.
“Of course, sir. No problem.” I turn towards Qian and nod. “Ready to go, Mr Qian?”
He nods and holds up his briefcase. “Yes, shall we?”
I bow one last time to Mr Li before leading Qian out of the classroom, my fake smile falling.
“I got so lost on my way here that I didn’t want that a second time”, chuckles Qian as if he’s not some gangster with probably a .48 Glock in that briefcase of his.
As we enter a deserted corridor, I stop and turn towards him. “No offence sir, but why are you here? Do you know how risky it would be if one of the two suspects saw you?”, I hiss the last part while taking a step closer towards him, still keeping enough distance between us.
Qian coughs before looking around. “Hendery actually had to go but he has a... more important job right now. And I have the morning free so I thought why not? I didn’t even know this was your college.”
A humourless laugh leaves my lips. “Don’t tell lies, Sir. I know you did a background on me, YY told me.”
With a sight, Qian looks away and runs a hand through his hair. “No lying to you, I guess.”
I roll my eyes and start to walk towards the exit, almost jumping three steps at a time down the stone stairs. The faster Qian is away from school grounds, the earlier I can discuss this with YY and rage about it.
Qian follows me quickly, not wanting to be lost again in the school. “How are you? Did your neck heal?”
“Sir...”, I sigh, holding the doors open for him to walk out. “Just... let me handle this, okay? I can do this.” I scan the parking lot and walk towards the most expensive-looking car.
“Thank you for escorting me out. And I do trust you with this assignment, even though it’s not your field.” Qian opens the door on the drivers’ side and throws the briefcase on the backseat.
I nod shortly before turning around, quickly walking away.
“(Y/n)...”, he calls behind me and I stop, “I have to ask you something.”
‘Shit’  I think and turn around on my heels. “Yes?”, I smile uncomfortably.
“I need you to be my date for a gala this weekend.”
I look baffled at Qian. This has to be a joke. He can’t be serious right now. Doesn’t he have escorts or sugar babies for that?
“You’re kidding right?” But the blank look on his face makes me realize that he is serious.
I shake my head as Qian begins to talk, explaining his motive. “I am expected to bring a partner with me. I can’t bring Lucas with me. Rumours will start and that’s not good for the economy. Since you’re the only... female I know and trust─”
“So you decided that it has to be me who you take with you to that meeting-thingy. Like a piece of arm candy, a pawn to use.” I cut in with slight anger rising in my tone, the idea of just sitting there and being pretty going strongly against my moral.
“Do not cut me off! I am your boss, you have to comply with my order”, he urges angrily and takes a step closer to me, towering over my figure. Our eyes lock and I see those familiar cold eyes I saw back in the basement. My breathing hitches in my throat and I take another step back, the anger replacing with slight fear.
Qian notices my sudden change in behaviour and posture pulling him out his trance, his eyes softening slightly. He takes two steps back and exhales deeply, closing his eyes to calm himself.
“I apologize for my outburst.” He looks away and neatens his suit jacket and dress shirt.
“No, you are right, sir. You are my boss and that was an... order. Just call or text me what I have to wear and when to expect you. I’m sure you could get my number from Lucas. Now if you excuse me.”
I turn around and speed walk away from Qian Kun and his unnecessary expensive-looking car. As I turn around, I bump into a chest and stumble backwards. I land on the ground with an ‘oof’ escaping my lips.
“Oh, (Y/n)!”, calls out Jaehyun and helps me up by my arms. Great, just what I needed, more mafia men in the middle of me having a beginning panic attack.
My vision starts to blur and my knees give in, making me drop to the ground. A loud gasp leaves Jaehyun’s lips and he quickly catches me, pulling me towards one of the many benches in the hallway.
“Breathe”, he whispers and pushes my hair away from my face, his eyes falling on the light scar on my neck. “Focus on my voice and close your eyes. Breathe deeply in, hold for a second, and then breathe out. Breathe in... hold... breathe out.”
I concentrate on Jaehyun and lean against him, focussing on how deep his voice is and the way his thumbs rub circles on the top of my hands.
“When you feel ready, open your eyes and look into mine. Focus on them and, if you can do it, describe them for yourself.”
My eyes flutter open and I study his face first. How his bangs cover most of his forehead, his angular eyebrows, the small rings piercing his ears.
I finally look up, expecting to see cold eyes. The eyes I meet are everything except cold. They are warm and look at me with great worry.
“I see... warmth. And comfort. Little specs of lighter brown in them. I like them, they shine in the sunlight”, I mutter to myself, the words escaping my lips.
It seems like Jaehyun still heard it because his breath stops. He comes closer but stops just millimetres away from my face, quickly standing up from the bench and coughing.
“Let me take you home. You can’t continue your day like this.” Jaehyun takes off his jacket and places it over my shoulders, engulfing me in an earthy smell. Strong hints of sandalwood, patchouli, and rosewood.
I don’t ague and let him lead me outside, into his car and drive me home. As Jaehyun opens up the door of my apartment and placing me on the couch with a blanket and a glass of water before he leaves again with a sad smile on his face, a single thought crosses my mind.
How did he knew where I live?

Speaking of a Book of Mormon movie, look what I just found in my notes! I only got as far as You and Me (But Mostly Me)... but I could keep going!
These were originally notes for something I was going to storyboard.
BOM THE MOVIE
Open on the actual book. Light shining on it, like a fairy tale. It opens to the nephites scene “I... am Jesus.” It’s paper animation, like how South Park is.
...
“All over the world!” Music... the book closes, and the front cover fades to the same front cover in Price’s hands.
HELLO!
Start with shots of elder price straightening his tie, name tag, running a comb through his hair.
He steps up to the door with the book in his hand. We don’t see his face yet.
Ding dong.
The door opens, and we now see his face for the first time, with a big grin, book in hand.
“Hello. My name is Elder Price.”
Song continues and cuts to different Mormons at different doors. Each doorbell has a different color door, different comedic people answering.
Sometimes there will be split frames.
Doors will be slammed in faces.
One Mormon smiles as he is about to walk up to another door, while another Mormon is being chased into the street by a dog.
Elder Cunningham buzzes a whole apartment complex. The “hello would you like to change religions” is a frame we see of him shouting through a security camera.
“NOO, NO, Elder Cunningham”
Maybe is in Arnold’s conscience? Idk.
...
“So you won’t burn in—“ One
Mormon has made a placement, but he watches angrily through the window as the person throws the book into their fireplace. “HE-HELLLOO”
The book of... MOOOOOOORMOOOON
camera pans from one door to the whole neighborhood. Title sequence. The doorbell in the word Mormon becomes part of a real door, and someone presses it for the final ding dong. The title sequence fades away.
the final HELLOOOOO could be a split frame of them waving? Like how they were on the risers?
TWO BY TWO
Takes place in the missionary training center. Looks sort of like a classroom. Their instructor is on screen, not just a voice. The boys eagerly wait in their desks.
(OR we do a Charlie Brown thing, where the instructor is never fully shown)
We start in the hallway with the 3 boys. “Do you have any idea where they’re sending you elder price?”
After “SOMETHING INCREDIBLEEEE” they run into the classroom and take their seats. They tap their fingers and bounce their legs to the faint snare roll and “tck bum. bum. tck bum. bum.”
It lasts a bit longer than in the soundtrack. Some close ups on Cunningham taking out his gum or something.
“Form a line and wait til your name is called.”
They line up against the back wall.
Once the boys start getting paired up, they dance at the front of the room. “HOO-AH... (jump on desks. Knees are bent. quick jump.) HEY-YAH, (turn away,) SHOO-WAH (turn towards each other, excitedly) ZADAP-WOW!” Unfold legs jump off of desks, go side be side and do the “TWO BY TWO” march.
.....
Kevin is in line towards the window. He stares at a religious painting on the wall.
“Heavenly Father, (then turns his attention out the window, the typical daydreaming face) where will I go on my mission?” In the window’s reflection we see the other boys come into focus and repeat “on my mission...” Kevin wistfully leans against a map on the back wall. “Will it be China or ol’ Mexico on my mission?”
San Fran by the bay... Australia where they say g’day... (he stares at the continents with romanticized wonderment)
...
“To my favorite place....” Zoom in on Price’s face. The background fades to black, spotlight on Price. He is so wishful it hurts. “ORLANDOOOO” zoom out to see his whole outstretched arm. He’s in Orlando now. A background of sea world whirls past him, a dolphin jumps over his head, the background whirls to Disney world. “GOLFIIING” He hits a put put ball towards the camera. The ball is the transition back to the classroom setting.
“ELDER PRICE!”
“YES SIR!”
...
“.....elder Cunningham!”
“THAT’S ME! THAT’S ME!” Arnold pushes desks aside to scramble to the front of the room. The noise is horrific. “hellO!”
“Your mission location will be...”
Zoom in on elder Price again, black background like his fantasy. *crossed fingers, mouthing the words orlandoorlandoorlando
“UGANDA!”
Black background quickly comes back to normal classroom.
Horrible noise. Instead of from instruments skidding, it came from Elder Cunningham pushing another desk.
Their faces are priceless.
“...Oh boy! Like Lion King!"
...
Desk dancing, evolves into marching down the hallway while high-fifing, clapping, and dancing...
“CHRIIIIII-IIIIIIIST! Of Latter Day Saints.“
They’re outside at this point. Song ends abruptly and everything carries on as normal. Price walks to the bus stop, and elder Cunningham rushes to catch up to him.
Of course he annoys Kevin. We get a taste of what this relationship is going to be like. Kevin takes measures as to avoid him on the way home.
Time passes.
YOU AND ME (BUT MOSTLY ME)
This song obviously takes place in the airport. The music starts as they’re standing in line to have their passports stamped.
“You’ve done an awesome job, Kevin!”
The song pauses. Cut to the woman holding up the passport photo to his face, comparing the two. “Kevin...” he sings again. Then speaks: “I’m Kevin Price, I’m nineteen. That’s not the best photo of me, I sneezed and it was like five dollars to get it retaken, so…” The woman stamps it. “Thank you.”
Cut to the airport hallways.
“Now it’s our time to go out—“
Arnold is on one of those moving walkways and slides past Kevin as he sings “MY BEST FRIIIEEND”
Kevin starts jogging to match Arnold’s pace.
“And we can do it together, you and me—“
But it seems like Price thinks of it more as a race. He reaches the end of it just before Arnold does, and stands in front of it, his bag tripping Arnold as he gets off the walkway.
“BUT MOSTLY MEEEEE!”
Kevin happily skips towards a Kiosk. “You and me but mostly me—“ He snatches a newspaper, “...are gonna change the world forever.” He runs towards the wall, where there’s an interactive screen. "Cuz I can do most anything—“ On the screen, there’s a camera projecting whoever stands in front of it, so basically, there’s a big Kevin on the wall. Cunningham enters the frame, farther away from the screen. “And I can stand next to you and watch!” Kevin messes around with filters on the screen, the first one being a hero, and the second one being a captain.
Cut to a restaurant they’re eating at.
“Every dinner needs a side dish—“
The server places a tiny mac n cheese or something Arnold ordered off of the kid’s menu on the table. “On a slightly smaller plate!”
They’re gleefully zig-zagging through the stanchions as they get in line for security. “And now we’re seeing eye to eye! It’s so great we can agree! That heavenly father has chosen you and me— just mostly me…“ At this point Kevin has kicked off his shoes and placed his bag on the conveyer belt, then steps up to the metal detector. “Something incredible…” As he passes through the detector doorframe, reality distorts into a fantasy spotlight again. “I’ll do something incredibleeee! I wanna be the Mormon who changed all of man kind…” Price’s surroundings are black. The only things that remain are the metal detector, and Arnold, who sets the alarm off and is stopped in his tracks by the security guards. “MY BEST FRIEEEEND” Kevin spins around and Arnold and the security are swept off screen. “It's something I’ve foreseen: now that I’m nineteen… I’ll do something INCREDIBLE, that BLOWWS GOD’S FREAKIN MIIIIIIND!”
As he hits these notes, reality fades back in, and he’s standing on the rim of an airport fountain, sticking out above all of the other travelers. The camera swoops to a bird’s eye view of the airport as if Price’s voice sent it launching up there.
Cut to the long set of stairs leading up to the door of the plane. The camera follows both boys as they race up the steps. “And as long as we stick together—“ Cunningham is in front of him, but leans to the side to let Kevin through, “and I stay out of your way-OUT OF MY WAY”
“So quit singing about it and do it, how ready and psyched are we?” They’re on the plane, pushing their way through the isle. They find their seats and settle in. They smush their faces against the tiny window. “Life is about to change for you,” they turn to look at each other, “and life is about to change for me.” Kevin buckles his seat belt, and Arnold struggles with his. “And life is about to change for you and me—“ Kevin buckles it for him. “But me mostly…” And tightens it.
He looks at Arnold compassionately. “And there’s no limit to, what we can do…” He places a hand on his shoulder. “Me and you.” Arnold smiles at him. Kevin turns his gaze. “BUT MOSTLY—“ ALL of the passengers on the plane sigh/moan.
Cut to the outside of the plane, taking off.
“MEEEEEEEEEEE!”
It flies into the distance.

𝚃𝚁𝙰𝙲𝙺𝚂 1 : 𝙻𝚒𝚔𝚎 𝚂𝚝𝚛𝚊𝚗𝚐𝚎𝚛𝚜 𝙳𝚘
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Strangers.
Having different tracks, but the ride would end at the same station. Not once but twice would their fates collide. But for now one train is moving onward and the other stops at a station. But they will again meet at the end of the track.
For now, they are simply Jade Myers and Ace Wilson.

<— Previous (Chapter 3)
Tumblr media
“What is this?”
You looked over your shoulder at your relatively new roommate. Namjoon had technically moved in a month ago. But about a week in he had to go on a research trip to the wilderness of Japan for his next book (he had briefly mentioned that he wanted to incorporate actual places from all over the world, starting with Japan). You were pretty sure it was to write off onsen hopping on his taxes.
But back to the task at hand.
Namjoon had just arrived home. He told you all he was going to be arriving home the day after tomorrow. Seems like he had gotten a flight home early. “Oh. You’re home early, Namjoon.”
His ears were at attention as he crossed his arms. He was clearly exhausted, but he had enough interest to figure out what was going on. “Don’t try that on me. What is this?”
You couldn’t help but blush, looking at Namjoon sheepishly. As you opened your mouth to reply, Taehyung grumbled angrily, half awake. You looked down and realized the source of the problem. Sitting on the ground, with blankets and pillows surrounding you, Taehyung had his head in your lap and his arms wrapped around your waist as he laid on his side. Before Namjoon had arrived home, you were rubbing his belly. But you had stopped, causing great unhappiness in Taehyung.
You giggled as you resumed rubbing his belly, to which he gave a very satisfied grumble. Looking back at Namjoon, he still looked at you both weirdly. You rolled your eyes. “Oh fuck off. He’s the most in tuned with his inner dog. Don’t judge. I bet you’re actually jealous.”
Which was true. When you first met Taehyung, you had been very conscious about how you treated him and Hoseok. Dog Hybrids were the most likely to be treated more like actual pets rather than people. And you wanted to give them the respect that they deserved, so you were unfortunately hyperaware of how you interacted with them.
Within a week of knowing Liam’s Hybrid friends, you realized that, with them at least, they didn’t mind being occasionally treated like their fuzzy counterparts… especially Taehyung. In fact Taehyung, if not insisted on it at times.
Jungkook was the least like a rabbit out of the three of them, always asserting his dominance. But he still needed companionship and quiet time like a rabbit did. Hoseok was very much a dog in that he loved playing outside, was protective, and he expressed himself through body language, his whole body wiggling when he was happy, driven by his fluffy, golden tail. Taehyung was even more dog like than Hoseok, having more prominent personality traits. He leaned heavily against you often like a Great Dane (sometimes taking you to the ground because of it), he was an utter goof like one, too. He loved his ears rubbed, was unaware of the deadliness of his whip-like tail, and would make weird sounds in his sleep. He was the one that started the windows down in a car rides, his nose being the most sensitive out the three (he at least didn’t stick head out like a dog). The first time you had met Taehyung’s adoptive mother, she had shown you a picture of him, at about the age of five, chasing his own tail. Thankful, (at least, you hoped) he had grown out of it.
So there you were, sitting on the ground, indulging Taehyung in one of his most favorite things in the world: getting wine drunk (ok, you getting wine drunk, Taehyung and Hoseok had wine sensitivity— they could drink it, their stomachs just weren’t exactly happy about it), watching some old cartoons, and belly rubs.
Namjoon just shook his head and sighed. You continued to smile at him. “You wanna join us?”
He eyed the television as it played Loony Toons quietly. “Let me shower first, then I’ll join you guys. But I’ll be sitting on the couch.”
With that, he walked off, dragging his suit case behind him. You rolled your eyes. He says that now, but you knew he’d be joining you two on the ground eventually. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But someday.
^~^~^~^~^
It was nearly midnight when you heard the front door opening. Shitshitshitshitshitshit—
“Oh. My. God.”
You looked behind you to see Jin, Hoseok, and Jungkook at the entry way leading the living room. Yoongi must be still at his studio— that night cat. Jungkook was the one who had spoken. He stood there with his jaw on the ground, looking utterly shook. Jin on the other hand was doing his absolute best not to giggle. Hoseok was unusually unreadable. Was he upset? Did he find it funny? Was he jealous?
Currently, Taehyung was still wrapped around your waist, being very cuddly… and a little too personal. At the moment, he had buried his face in the crook of your hip… sometimes you had to push his head away because he was wandering somewhere he shouldn’t be. Namjoon on the other hand was NOT on the couch like he said he would.
Oh, no. Namjoon had plopped himself beside you on the floor on the opposite side of Taehyung. At first, he started a good distance away. But slowly he migrated closer until he sleepily laid his still damp head on your shoulder. His ears were right there. How could you not rub them?
So here you were, Taehyung wrapped around your waist as you rubbed his belly and Namjoon leaning heavily against you making a noise that was like the canine version of a purr as you rub his ears, your wine glass sitting in your lap. You didn’t move. How could you? You felt like you had been caught doing something rather naughty by your husband or something.
You continued to stare at Jungkook, Jin, and Hoseok, swallowing. Both Taehyung and Namjoon started to grumble unhappily in their sleep now that you had stopped petting. You looked back at the men attached to you like octopuses. Hoseok whimpered like a kicked puppy, breaking your heart a little. Looking back at him, you pleaded, “I’m sorry, Hobi. But… I only have two hands. I promise I’ll cuddle with you tomorrow. Ok?”
Hoseok remained silent. He walked over to you as he slipped off his jacket. He stooped down and picked up your wine glass, placing it on the side table. You looked at him curiously and he gently detached Taehyung from your waist. When Taehyung made a sound of protest, Hoseok rubbed his big floppy ear and Taehyung settled right back down.
Once Taehyung had been silenced, Hoseok sat down behind you, his legs framing yours as he pushes his way between Taehyung and Namjoon. He repositioned Taehyung quickly, knowing that if he didn’t Taehyung would wake up soon, very unhappy that his arms weren’t wrapped around something. Hoseok hooked one of Taehyung’s arms around your waist and made sure that his head was resting mostly now on his own, but still slightly propped up on yours.
Hoseok wrapped his own arms around your waist, squeezing you lovingly as he nuzzled your hair, scenting you. Slowly, you relaxed against him. As you leaned more weight back against him, his tail started going thumpthumpthumpthump.
You found yourself petting the other two canine Hybrids, closing your eyes. Wrapped up in their warmth, you fell asleep as well. Little did you know, Jungkook got out his expensive camera and snapped a photo. It became his favorite photo, calling it, ‘Persephone and Cerberus.’

Crash ‘N’ Run
ship: basicallyidowrk x female!reader x fourzeroseven
warnings: homophobia, racism, it's the 50s babe what do you expect, inspired by a webcomic called rock and riot
"This is complete and utter bullshit." Marcel raged, kicking an empty can angrily. I watched him from the sidewalk as he stomped around. Scotty was attempting to calm him down, following him around as he paced.
I couldn't help the disappointed sigh that left me as I buried my head into my knees.
Being in a relationship with two guys wasn't as easy as it seemed. For one, there are many comments about me being a "whore" for dating two men, as well as Marcel and Scotty being called "cuckolds". Two, because we're an interracial couple, we get even more flack for breaking society's roles on us.
And because of those two reasons, we couldn't go to prom together.
We weren't the only ones either. There were Craig and Tyler, a gay couple; Evan and Jonathan, an interracial gay couple; and Anthony and Melina, an interracial couple. We all were rejected from being able to go to prom.
Unwilling to face the principal's wrath, we retreated to Marcel's cul de sac, where he currently was raging his ass off.
"Marcel, Marcel!" Scotty comforted his boyfriend, quickly calming him while I sulked on the sidewalk. After a quiet few moments, my boyfriends joined me on the ground.
"This fucking blows." Scotty murmured, holding my hand. I nodded solemnly, leaning onto his side. I felt Marcel's hand on my back, which meant his arm was around Scotty. "I wish people would just accept us."
"We knew what we were getting into when we got together," Marcel whispered, rubbing my shoulder lovingly. "I just wanted a night with the two most beautiful people in the world."
"Shut up." I grinned, slapping his chest lightly. "That's so cheesy." We all sighed together, enjoying one another's presence.
But that was when I got the idea.
"What would happen if we somehow got into prom and got caught?" The two of them gave me a confused look. "Like, what are the repercussions?"
"Suspension, maybe?" Scotty thought it over, moving his hand from my own to my waist, his letterman jacket providing warmth. "I mean, we aren't seniors, nor are we troublemakers..."
"Don't lie to her, Scot." Marcel teased, grinning softly. "She knows us enough to know that we're anything but angels."
"Then let's go to prom," I suggested, smiling in excitement. Marcel smile changed into a frown once more.
"You heard the principal. No dates that are homosexual or interracial are allowed." I turned my body to face my boyfriends, grinning with mischief.
"Since when did we decide some fat fuck was gonna dictate how we get to spend our Saturday nights?" Scotty's face lit up with hope while Marcel's lit up with boldness. "I'm sick and tired of being shoved around by some balding white man. I'm gonna crash the fuck out of that prom." Scotty sat up, grinning handsomely.
"What's the plan, babe?"
---
"I can't believe we're crashing prom together!" Melina sang happily, thumbing through dresses. "I mean, I knew you were rebellious, but I didn't think you were this rebellious!"
"We all want a night out, so a night out is what we're gonna get." I declared, finding a sparkly f/c dress. It puffed out at the waist, reminding me of a princess dress. "I want that one." I plucked it off the rack, holding it up to my body.
"Oh hell yeah." Melina chirped, looking me over. "Go try it on!"
After wrestling with the zipper, I looked in the mirror, pleased with how I looked. I normally looked like an innocent teenager, but this dress made me feel like a glamorous, rich woman. Give me pearls and I'll knock off the socks of every straight man in the county.
"Y/n, are you done yet?" Melina asked, knocking on my dressing room door. I peeped it open, seeing her yellow, sweetheart dress. "Oh my God."
"You look great!" I squealed, causing her to blush. "Anthony is going to pass out when he sees you."
"Shut up." She nudged me, shaking her head. "You're a riot."
"I know." I winked at her, closing the door.
---
"You look wonderful, Y/n." My older sister, Ryb, complimented me. "Mom would've loved to see you."
"I'm sure wherever she is, she's proud of me." I retouched my lipstick, looking in my vanity mirror. "I'll call you if we get arrested."
"Knowing you, you'll find your way out of it." She teased, taking a photo of me. The doorbell rang, causing me to grow nervous. "That must be your boys. I'll go let them in." As she walked away, I looked myself over one last time.
I was really about to do this. I was about to crash my junior prom. And somehow, the only thing that made me nervous was Scotty and Marcel's reactions.
But as I descended from upstairs and saw their reactions, I knew that there was truly nothing to be nervous about.
"Holy shit." Scotty cursed while Marcel just gaped at me. I couldn't help but gasp at their appearance.
Scotty's unkempt hair was brushed neatly, going very well with his grey suit and f/c bow tie.
Marcel's hair was gelled to create a masculine look, his scruff shaved which made him look older in his black suit and f/c skinny tie.
It took me a moment to remember that these handsome boys were dating me.
"Hey, guys." I meekly smiled, going down the stairs. They stayed silent, still staring at me. The flashing of Ryb's camera brought them out of their stupor.
"Y/n, you look stunning." Marcel smiled, visibly awestruck. "Like, damn."
"Wow." Scotty murmured, cupping my face gently. My face went hot at their attention and I began to giggle shyly.
"You guys clean up nice," I whispered, smoothing out both of their suits. Marcel held my hand to his heart, tearing up slightly.
"If you guys are done being sappy, I'd like to take some pictures." Ryb cut in, making us chuckle. After doing ridiculous poses with one another, we made it out to my car. As I turned on the engine, Scotty leaned in from the back seat.
"So, we're having post-prom sex after this, right?"
"Oh, hell yeah." Marcel and I nodded in agreement as I pulled out from my driveway. "My house?"
"Where else?" I quipped, speeding out of my neighborhood. After a few minutes of driving, we reached the school parking lot. Waiting there for us was Melina, Anthony, Evan, Jonathan, Craig, Tyler, and a lot more people. "Uh..."
"It's all our friends!" Scotty pointed out as we parked the car. I stepped out, recognizing the faces around me. Everyone went silent, smiling proudly.
Gay couples, lesbian couples, mixed couples, couples of all sorts surrounded the few cars in the parking lot. I couldn't help the excited smile that was on my face as I climbed onto the hood of my car.
"I can tell many of you are here for the revolution." Various cheers erupted from the crowd as they looked up at me. "That's perfect. Because we're done being docile. We're done listening to this stupid principal and what he thinks is right for us! I say fuck the norm!" The cheers were slowly becoming louder. "Fuck the homophobic assholes! Fuck the racist assholes! Fuck everyone who says what you can and can't do! Are we gonna take this bullshit or are we gonna riot?"
"Riot!" A booming cheer rose over the parking lot, causing me to giggle with adrenaline.
"That's right, baby! Let's go fuck this prom up!"
And with that, we burst through the entrance of prom, quickly slinking into the crowd. The teachers lost us as we all split up to go wreak havoc.
I spotted the picture booth and immediately grabbed Marcel and Scotty's arms.
"C'mon!" I squealed, dragging them over to pose in front of the cameraman. We did one normal picture before doing stupid poses with one another. I gave the man a twenty before swiping the polaroids off of him and continuing to dash through the prom. Students were watching as we all made our mark, cheering us on.
I made my way to the stage, getting ahold of the microphone.
"I want you all to know that this is a revolution! And we won't be stopped!" I yelled, before turning around and grabbing Scotty's face.
I gave him a forceful kiss before turning to Marcel and giving him an equally passionate smooch. After a moment, I turned back to the mic, slightly breathless.
"And to this stupid motherfucking principal, suck my left tiddy!" I sent out a graceful middle finger before the three of us ran off again. Though this time, we ran out of the gym.
I giggled happily as we circled the school and went back to the parking lot. Marcel was practically skipping, swinging his intertwined hands as we rushed out. Scotty's high pitched laugh pierced the air, his giddiness similar to a child's.
"Last one there's a rotten egg!" He squealed, dropping our hands to run. I followed in suit, picking up my dress so I wouldn't trip. Marcel and Scotty were easily further ahead of me, which was a telltale sign that I was gonna be the rotten egg this time.
As we reached the clean car, we all stopped to catch our breath again. I bent over the trunk, laying flat on my stomach to try and calm down.
"That's a pretty sight," Scotty smirked, looking at me. Realizing my compromising position, I gave him the middle finger.
"You're unbelievable." He laughed again, straightening up his suit. "What do we do now?"
"Let's go get milkshakes." I heaved myself up, stretching.
"Then victory sex?" I snorted, looking at the two loves of my life.
"Then we'll have victory sex." Both of them fist pumped the air before high fiving, making me snicker again.
"Get in the car, you dorks."

Not Just A Jealous Boyfriend
Could you do a Teddy Lupin x reader were they have their first big fight so it’s a bit angsty at first and then they make up so it turns fluffy and they kiss but that turns into smut Basically Teddy Lupin x reader smut Thx love your blog
Warnings: Smut and language
Word Count: 4,089
 Decisions are pesky things. They are yours to make - you think about them yourself and then decide if you want to do something or not and yet somehow other people are allowed to judge you for the way you think and the path you decide to take. Your decisions lead to you being ridiculed, decisions lead to hurt, love, loss and consequences beyond what you could ever imagine. Some decisions are stupid, some are fuelled by emotions or maybe they’re made on a whim. When they’re not thought out, people get hurt but you had never expected this decision to be the one that people are hurt from. It was one Hogsmede trip. You’d spent so much time with your boyfriend Teddy lately that your friends had started to feel neglected. One of those friends was Louis Weasley and Teddy didn’t seem to like that one bit.
 Louis Weasley has been your friend since the first day you met him (his name was one below yours on the sorting list). He was hilarious, got along well with all of your other friends and always put you before himself. He was selfless, kind and never failed to be there when you needed him after a rough day - sure he was handsome, but that’s not why you were friends with him.  Teddy and Louis had never exactly seen eye to eye. No matter how hard he tried to hide it, Teddy was insecure. No matter how many times you tried to convince him that you felt nothing for Louis, he wouldn’t believe you. That’s what lead to this. That decision that was yours to make, a decision that shouldn’t ever have had a consequence like this had lead to three whole weeks of silence. Three whole weeks of Teddy ignoring you no matter how hard you tried. You’d confronted him at breakfast, in the halls, in the common room, in his dorm, via owl, via friends and even via his grandmother and yet he still hadn’t answered or even bothered to fill his friends in as far as you know.  It was more than tough to deal with to say the least. You missed him, he was your other half and yet he wouldn’t even tell you what exactly you did wrong. Well, he didn’t need to, but that was still no excuse for him to leave you in the dark for three weeks. Part of you thought that there was a chance he didn’t want to fix things at all. Maybe he’d grown sick of you and this was just his way of saying he was breaking up with you without actually having to do the dirty work. Maybe one of his friends was supposed to tell you at breakfast weeks ago and you missed it?  Your friends including Louis were starting to get a little more than concerned. You’d come to breakfast with dark bags under bloodshot red eyes for days on end. The topic of Teddy or what was going on was avoided like the plague as each time someone even mentioned his name, you would burst into tears and leave the Great Hall bawling. Teddy didn’t even feel guilty by the looks of it, he wouldn’t even look at you, eyes skimming past your face as if you were nothing but a stranger to him. This whole thing made your heart break inside your chest. You couldn’t even look at him without breaking down - that's what he'd reduced you to.  You’d successfully made it to fourth period before you’d had to go back to your dorm today. It seemed as if this fight was taking such a toll on you that it was making you physically sick. Madam Pomfrey had checked you over and gave you a pepper up potion, but it did nothing for you at all. She'd already permitted you to leave class and rest when you felt like you needed it, but by now you were surely abusing the system. You'd run out of options, you couldn't keep going on like this without answers.  It’s this that makes you take the opportunity to slip into Teddy’s dorm while he’s not here. His bed of course is empty but hasn’t been made from the night before. His trunk is half out from under his bed and you stoop down to kick it under there again before you see what’s sitting on top of it. It’s a picture, a picture of you that one of your friends had taken by the beech tree down by the black lake. The photo had previously shown you with your lips pressed against his cheek and when the photo moved, you'd moved to smile at the camera and Teddy would move to cover the camera with his hand as he leaned in to kiss you. Now it showed only you standing by the lake looking as if you were on your last legs, face held in gloved hands. Teddy was walking out of the frame and you only caught wisps of his yellow scarf whipping out of view. It made you feel like every tear your body could produce was going to come out.  You must’ve stayed there on the floor for a lot longer than you thought because suddenly and without warning, the door swung open and a irritated looking Teddy burst through. He hadn’t noticed you were in here and for the first time in three weeks, his face softened and his eyes widened in surprise before he fixed himself and stared blankly at the wall behind you. He didn’t even open his mouth to ask why you were here.  You stood from the floor, holding the photo flimsily in the palm of your hand. You held it out to him. ‘This was on your floor.’  Teddy didn’t look at you or the photo and instead was about to turn to leave again. When he’d made it to the door you let out a yell you didn’t even know had come from you until it was already out, reaching out to grip the ends of his swishing robes. ‘STOP!’  Teddy turned slowly, eyeing you as if you’d just slapped him across the face but still refusing to face you fully. He turned back towards the door but made no effort to leave. He could hear you breaking down behind him, falling to the ground and pulling your legs up to your chest. It was taking everything in him not to crack and give in. You had to understand, he would make you understand. ‘This is torture Edward, if you’re going to break up with me j-just bloody do it!’ He didn’t respond and it’s this that made you groan. ‘This isn't you, you're never like this. I don’t even know what the hell I did to deserve this-‘ ‘You went to Hogsmede with him.’  You hadn’t heard his voice in so long that you let out a choked sob of relief. It wasn’t long until the relief had left you, angrily swiping at tears underneath your eyes and glaring up at him. ‘He’s my friend Teddy! I’m a human being that can make my own decisions and I decided to go to Hogsmede with my friends - that's right, friends it wasn't just us. You have friends that are girls and I don't freak and stop you from going to Hogsmede with them!' You stood again, crossing your arms over your chest. Now that you were closer to his level, the overwhelming temptation to slap him and kiss him was proving itself difficult to conceal. 'Besides, you can't control me, I can do what I want.’ ‘He doesn’t see you as a friend.’ ‘How the hell would you know what he sees me as? He’s your cousin and you refuse to talk to him.’   ‘I hear things (Y/N),’ Teddy turned so fast that it startled you. The look in his eyes was intense, as if he’d been holding this in for far too long and you knew he had. ‘I’ve heard what him and his friends talk about! They talk about you as if they're some object they can claim! Like some animal for sale and I'm just some obstacle they need to pass to get to you! I don’t talk to him because the way him and his friends talk about you disgusts me. I don’t want him anywhere near you.’  You’d shuffled back so your back hit the wall as Teddy stood near the door, absolutely livid. He was never usually like this. To say you hadn't argued before and all was perfect was stupid, of course you'd disagreed on a multitude of things, but he'd been level headed and rational, now he was nothing but angry and it was terrifying. He ran a hand over his forehead, sighing heavily. ‘I-I didn’t know-‘ ‘Of course you didn’t, he acts so innocent around you.’  There was a thick silence that shrouded the room. You turned, staring out the window and out at the empty grounds. It didn't seem right. Louis had always kept every secret you spilt to him, he'd never done anything to tip you off that it was all an act and he was only trying to get on your good side. You bit down on your lip. ‘Teddy I just don’t-‘ ‘I don’t care what you think. I know what I heard.’ 'But,' you started, tears forming in the corners of your eyes. 'I've been friends with him since first year, are you really telling me that all of that is fake?' Teddy felt a pang of guilt at the way your voice broke. His eyelids fluttered as if someone had just waved their hand over his face. 'Maybe not, but no friend of mine talks about me like that.' 'I should hope not.' 'Then you understand how I feel?'  Teddy’s eyes met yours for the first time in three weeks and you felt every single worry fade away as you moved off of the wall you had pressed yourself up against and hesitantly wrapped your arms around him. You expected him to throw you off and run for it again, but rather he hugged back, much tighter than you had hugged him, as if he needed to know you were really there and not just a figment of his imagination. 'I'm sorry,' your voice broke halfway through the second word. Teddy's chin moved to settle somewhere deep in the tangle of roots that was the beginning of your hair. He let out a sigh, as if he had just dipped a burnt hand in freezing cold water. You were finally back and he knew it was his fault you had gone in the first place - he had after all been the one who started it - but you finally realised he wasn't just being a jealous boyfriend, you didn't feel like he was insane anymore and that brought him great relief. ‘It’s okay.’ ‘I won’t hang out with him anymore if that makes you feel any better?’ You sniffled. 'It's just... Hard. He seemed so nice.'  Teddy nodded as you pulled away and brushed a strand of hair behind your ear. 'He does that, but it's alright. I'm sure after I talk to him he'll come to his senses or something, but you should avoid him for a while at least.'  He stared into your eyes, wiping away your tears before he pressed his lips up against yours slowly and passionately, as if his one true wish was to kiss you and he'd been dying waiting for it. The kiss lasted for a few moments before you pulled away and swiped at some more tears underneath your eyes and when you smiled softly at him, he found himself smiling back and leaning in again. The kiss was the same as the last only his lips refused to leave yours as if they were magnets drawn to each other.. You kissed him back with the same amount of fervour and passion as his hand wound into your hair and deepened it. Before you knew it, he had begun to walk the two of you backwards towards his bed. You squeaked when he let you go and you fell back onto his mattress, bouncing slightly. He laughed, drinking in the sight of you smiling up at him with flushed cheeks and bright eyes.  As he dipped back down, you felt a fire ignite itself inside of you. Three long weeks without his body on yours left you wanting more. Every touch was like hot irons burning on your skin and you found yourself relaxing into him as his lips moved against yours. You were growing breathless and hot by the minute. It felt as if you had stepped into a sauna in the middle of summer and the sudden urge to strip yourself was barely restrained.  Teddy's lips moved off of yours after what felt like an eternity and you couldn't say you minded. His lips had started tracking the sharp lines that connected your head to your shoulders, stopping over your pulse point and pressing kisses to it that started off light and grew more rough as his teeth scraped against it. Everything was feeling ten times hotter now - it was growing unbearable. You let out a moan you didn't know you could when Teddy's teeth suddenly closed around your neck and sucked, leaving what you were sure would be a very suspicious purple bruise behind. You wanted to whack him one, tell him off for leaving it in a place where you'd be unable to hide it, but his next words made your throat dry, head spinning from arousal. 'I'm going to leave so many marks on you that they'll realise I'm not just an obstacle to you,' he mumbled, deep voice rumbling against the skin of your neck, sending shivers up your spine. He moved closer to your ear. 'And if you dare try to hide them, I'll have to start again.' You couldn't help it anymore, your hips bucked upwards, searching for any kind of relief no matter how small it may be. Teddy groaned, stopping for a moment and catching your eyes. 'I'm the one in control here.'  He must've decided much like you that you were wearing way too much clothing as he stepped back a little to loosen your tie. You helped, taking it off and throwing it away and watched as Teddy did the same to his. It's this that made you realise what game he was playing, so you pulled your jumper over your head as well. Soon enough a collection of your school uniform was piled up in what looked to be a puddle of cloth in the corner of the room. Teddy's was no better, scattered around beside it as if someone had ransacked the place. Speaking of Teddy, he had moved back again and you were furious, you wanted his hands on you - somewhere, anywhere, but rather he was staring at you as if you were a work of art, eyes unsure where to go and flicking from your knee length black socks to your still covered chest and core. He could see you were getting impatient, but usually he wasn't the one who took control, now he was he wasn't planning on letting you have your way.  After what felt like hours later, he motioned for you to sit up which you did eagerly. His fingers moved to your back and with a loud click, the clasp of your bra came undone. He threw it once again to the piles in the corner of the room and stepped back to ogle again. You were the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen - in fact no, you were the most beautiful living creature he'd ever seen. He wouldn't be surprised if he was drooling at this point, but he was thrown back into reality when you flushed and covered your chest with your arms. He reached forward, grabbing your arms and ducking down so he was sitting on his knees before you. 'No don't,' he shook his head and watched as the blush intensified. You avoided his gaze until his hand landed underneath your chin and turned you to face him. 'You are the most beautiful girl I've ever met in my life. Don't pretend that your not, you don't need to be modest.'  You laughed a little, but Teddy didn't. 'I mean it, you really are.'  Before you could protest anymore, his hand sprawled out on your stomach, pushing you back down so that you were lying in front of him again and diving down as if he was a seeker who'd just spotted the snitch, his mouth latched around your right nipple. He began with kitten licks, barely touching you as if daring you to beg for more - which you weren't afraid to do, mewling and gasping with each tiny touch of his tongue. He indulged you a few moments later, unable to hear the sound of your moans and to stay in control at the same time, closing his entire mouth around it and sucking, moving his other hand so that your left nipple wouldn't feel neglected and twisting it between his forefinger and thumb.  When he drew back his pupils were so dilated you could barely see the colour surrounding them. He motioned for you to move further back on the bed and to stop when he wanted you to stop. Then wordlessly, he dipped down so that his face was just over your clothed core. You let out a moan at the feeling of his breath fanning it, yet he wasn't moving, looking up at you as if to ask if he was allowed to. You nodded and moved so that Teddy could pull your panties off of your legs. He seemed to be having fun flinging more things to the corner of the room.  When he'd moved back down again his hot breath was nearly too much to handle, but what was more was when he trapped your hips with his hands so you couldn't buck up and pressed kisses to the insides of your thighs, only stopping once he'd reached your clit. He hovered for a moment before he trapped it in between his lips and sucked much harder than you had been prepared for. A moan loud enough to rouse the portrait of Helga Hufflepuff in the common room tore out of your throat, especially when his tongue moved to prod at your entrance.  He stayed there for a while, revelling in the way your legs had moved to trap his head, his hands still holding your hips down firmly to the mattress. It felt amazing to feel you writhing and fighting to buck your hips, but he eventually had to move his hand away and without warning inserted one finger into you, watching as it slid in with ease and trying to ignore how incredibly hard he was right now. As you moaned above him, he sunk his teeth into your left leg and sucked, leaving a hickey that would be even harder to pass off as nothing if someone noticed it, but you definitely couldn't say you minded as Teddy's finger began to pump in and out of you.  He added another once it seemed like you had gotten used to the first one and watched as you continued to moan and mewl, his tongue darting down to stimulate your clit. He could feel you tightening around his fingers, moaning louder than before as waves of your oncoming orgasm had started to build up. He was still sucking your clit and pumping his fingers in and out of you, even as your hands tightened in his hair and you attempted yet again to trap him between your thighs. 'Oh fuck Teddy I'm going to,' you let out another moan, 'Teddy - ah - please Teddy.'  But it was too late. Just as he felt you getting too close to your high, his lips left your clit and he pulled his fingers out, stepping away. You let out an aggravated sigh, glaring at him, but there wasn't much time to protest, as he had removed his boxers and thrown them to the corner of the room. He hovered over you, teasing you by rubbing the tip of his dick, already leaking precum, over your wet folds. You wanted nothing more than to wrap your legs around his waist and push him into you, but you didn't have the opportunity to before he had flipped you over so that you were now on your stomach.  He grabbed you roughly by the hips and lifted them. The sight before him was heavenly, your hair sprawled out on the pillow, ass in the air right in front of him. He waited for a moment before his hand moved to your hips and he thrusted slowly into you, waiting for you to get used to his length and moaning at the way it felt to have your warm, wet walls closing around him. You moaned, pushing your head further into his pillow as he filled you up inch by inch. Seconds later he had started moving again, albeit slowly. You weren't sure how much more time you would have but who the hell even cares? Right now all you could possibly care about was the way that Teddy felt inside of you. He continued to thrust slowly, moaning and throwing his head back at finally having some relief for the almost painful boner that had been straining inside of his pants up until now. You can admit you were still mad at him for denying you of your orgasm, but you'd be sure to get him back for it eventually.  He must've decided it was finally time to start moving faster when you started pushing yourself back to meet him halfway and taking back control, his hands tightened on your hips as he thrust in and out. The sound of skin slapping against skin echoed around the room alongside loud moans and groans mingling in the air. His right hand dove down to the front of your body when he felt himself getting close and rubbed your clit hard and with purpose. You could feel your high approaching yet again and felt almost as if you wouldn't be able to hold yourself up for much longer. It seemed Teddy was feeling the same as his moans were growing louder and louder. 'Who- do - you - belong - to,' he punctuated each word with a thrust that left you dizzy. He had moved closer to your ear, groaning into it and sucking on your neck, leaving another hickey right where your ear met it. 'Y-yours Teddy - ah - I'm yours.'  Teddy's hands were growing rougher and you realised this was what he wanted - this was all you had to say and you'd get to cum. So you said it a thousand times over, moaning his name as you started speeding towards your high. There wasn't even time to warn Teddy this time around as it washed over you. Teddy moaned, cumming not long after you and riding out your high with you. He waited awhile, spent and sweaty as you both caught your breath before he pulled out and left to the small bathroom connected to the dorm. He came back out with a cloth, flipping you onto your back and helping clean you up before he pulled the sheets back and pulled you under with him.  He smiled brightly at you when you turned to face him and brushed a strand of hair behind your ear, planting a lazy kiss on your forehead. 'I missed you.' 'I missed you too Teddy.' There was silence once again in the dorm though this time it had an air of comfort rather than a tense uncomfortable one like it had been before. You were seconds away from falling asleep, eyelids fluttering like butterfly's wings until you remembered where you where and mumbled into Teddy's chest. 'Teddy, what's going to happen when the others come back and see-'  But it was too late, Teddy had already fallen asleep with his arms wrapped tightly around your hips. You laughed, sighing heavily and shaking your head. You supposed that if everyone was going to find out anyway, then maybe one little nap wouldn't hurt.

Huge Mistake| Agents Mini Story
The room was dark, silent, with the smell of coffee lingering in the air. Cooper just came back from a crazy case and boy! He was exhausted as hell! He let him self relax on his chair and stared at the ceiling while thinking about the case he just worked on with his partner, Agent Torres. He heard footsteps approaching his office. Cooper knew exactly who the person was and obviously was ready for whatever circus his colleagues brought in.
Knock Knock
"Jordan?"
The voice brought a little smile to Cooper's face.
"Oh come in lovely!" He shouted.
The door slightly opened, the person peaked his head in. His hair was weirdly styled but It didn't look too awful. His eyes looked very tired but still looked alive. It was non other than, Agent Torres. He had an annoyed look in his face cause y'know? He practically finds everyone annoying.
"Ha ha very funny Jordan...." Torres said sarcastically.
"Well look who decided to come pay his lovely partner a visit" Cooper replied.
"I'm not here to play games Jordan, just came here to say I'm going out early today...." He said sounding a bit aggressive.
Cooper stared for what felt like forever. He was confused on why Torres was leaving so soon, they still have a case to work on he can't just drop it.
"Oh? Any reasoning behind that Torres? I mean we still got a case to work on ya can't just bail on me now" Copper said with a chuckle.
"Well something came up and it's important...." Torres said.
Cooper knows damn well that Torres has nothing to do outside of the FBI. The guy lives on his own and practically has no one with him. He's obviously lying but Cooper ain't going to question him any further.
"Oh! Well uh sounds great! I'll keep ya updated on the..... C-case" He said trying not to sound too sarcastic.
"Thanks for understanding" Torres said with a smile and walk away.
Once the door closed, Cooper grabbed the lamp off him desk and threw it to the ground with a loud aggressive grunt.
"YOU STUPID SON OF A BITCH!!" He shouted angrily. "THE HELL YOU GOTTA DO THATS 'SO' IMPORTANT!?!?"
~~~
Some time has passed
Cooper was in his car, driving where he probably shouldn't be. He pulled up near an apartment building just a little bit outside of downtown Los Angeles. Cooper sat in his car and tried to not expose himself too much. He saw another car pull up near the apartment. That car looked a little too familiar. It was a white Chevrolet with a big black stripe on it and it looked like it has been washed recently. Cooper kept an eye on it. The door swung open, Cooper waited for the owner to get out of the car.
"You son of a bitch....." Cooper said to himself.
A guy, who was average height with slightly styled brown hair, walked up to the apartment door. He stood there for a good 5 seconds until the door opened. Agent Torres was behind the damn door and the guy who stood in front of him was none other than Captain Daniel.
Cooper felt his blood boil.
"So this the shit that's so important!? Being the boss's side gal?!" He said to himself.
An idea came to his mind. He took out his phone and opened the camera. He made sure the pictures were clear and snapped multiple pictures. He looked through them to see if they came out good.
"Oh! This will be good" He said with a chuckle.
Cooper waited for the 2 men to step inside the apartment. He texted his group of colleagues
Meet me in the lounge room ASAP!
~~~
Cooper waited in the lounge room for his colleagues to show up. One person walked in, he was a little shorter than Cooper. His hair almost covered his icy blue eyes but were still visible. He looked pretty young and his face was covered in freckles. Cooper looked at him annoyed.
"Of course you just had to be the first to show up Agent Gray....." He said in an annoyed matter.
"Oh! Agent Cooper! Nice to see you around, I was in the evidence room making sure everything's in order until I got your message so I came as fast as a I could" Gray explained.
Gray has this small southern accent which makes Cooper want to strangle himself. He rolled his eyes and tried not to say anything hurtful to him.
"Yeah cause you have nothing else to do other than flirt with all the guys you see...." Cooper said sarcastically.
"I don't flirt with anyone!" Gray shouted.
Cooper just laughed at him.
"It was sarcasm you knucklehead..... Jesus kid didn't you go to English class?" He said.
Gray just turned away from him and stayed silent. Someone else walked in the room. He was taller than Agent Gray but shorter than Cooper. His hair was slightly fixed and dark. He had that head shape that every girl loves and not to mention, his chin is perfect.
"Ah great..." He started. "What could possibly be so important this time Agent Cooper? I have a case to work on y'know?"
"Well your stupid case can be on hold, Agent Sanders. You're gonna love what I'm about to say, well once everyone gets here." Cooper said.
"If this is another one of your homo games, I'm kicking your ass!" Sanders shouted. "Plus everyone's out doing their job, y'know what you're supposed to do!"
"How about you sit your ass down and look pretty and listen to what I'm gonna say Sanders!" Cooper shouted.
"And why in hell should I listen to anything you gotta say Jordan!" Sanders shouted back.
"Okay could y'all not argue!? Jesus Christ why do y'all always do this when we have a meeting!?" Gray shouted at them.
The room went silent for what felt like forever. Then Sanders broke the silence.
"Alright I'm sorry" He said sarcastically while he sat down in his chair.
Cooper stared at Sanders with an annoyed look in his face. He pulled out his phone and opened his gallery to get the pictures he took while he was at Torres' apartment. Sanders looked at Cooper with an eyebrow arched. Cooper placed his phone in front of him. Sanders took a glance at the photo.
"What is this Cooper?" He asked calmly.
"That there Daniel, is the bitch who bosses us around with the bitch with daddy issues." Cooper replied with a smirk.
Sanders sighed heavily. He couldn’t believe what he was looking at. Agent Torres, the guy most people in the FBI admire for his hard work, with Captain Daniel, the guy who bosses them around to get their job done.
“Jesus Christ Ryan..... He’s making a big mistake. I don’t know how you got a hand of these photos, but if anyone were to find out about any of this. That’ll put them at risk and potentially get themselves kicked out of the FBI.” Sanders explained.
Another idea kicked in Cooper’s mind.
“I know how these bad boys can come in handy.” Cooper laughed.
Sanders stayed silent for a moment, trying to figure out what Cooper’s getting at.
“Oh you are not going to black mail them! You’re going to get yourself in trouble!” Sanders shouted.
“Well Torres’ always being a little bitch so why not use these against him? Oh and Aaron can go suck a dick, I mean what does he actually do? All he does is sit in his little office and judges all of us and complains how no one gets anything done when we’re basically risking our own lives trying to help the city! So I say we use these against them, they won’t do shit.” Cooper went off.
“That is a horrible idea! Y’know what Cooper? I am out!” Sanders got up from his seat and headed to the door.
“Yeah I am with him.” Gray added and followed Sanders.
“Okay could y’all hang on a fucking moment!? NO ONE IS FUCKING LEAVING!” Cooper yelled.
Sanders and Gray looked at him. Cooper’s face was slightly red and very angry, he could probably snap someones neck if they angered him more. They shut the door and stood with their arms crossed.
“Thank you, now I have a little question for the both of you guys.” Cooper said calmly. “Sanders, how does Aaron treat ya?”
Sanders rolled his eyes.
“Why does that mater?” He said.
“Just answer the damn question Daniel!” Cooper said frustrated.
“Well he always comments on how I look but it ain’t no complement. It’s always something negative like how baggy my shirt looks or how weird my hair looks. Stuff like that.” Sanders explained.
“So he’s just an ass in general is what you mean? Jesus I’ve always hated Aaron, I mean what even is Aaron Daniel Barnes? That is such a horrible name combination.” Cooper complained.
Sanders just shrugged. Gray has been listening to everything they’re saying, he doesn’t really like getting involved in a trio conversation. But he has to know since now he’s part of Cooper’s master plan.
“Gray, how does Captain asshat treat ya?” Cooper asked sounding very sarcastic.
“Like shit....” Gray replied.
“Be specific cowboy.” Cooper said as he rolled his eyes.
“He doesn’t like me very much. He always says that I sound like some weird country girl who likes to prostitute themselves.” Gray added.
Cooper just laughed at what Gray said.
"Not gonna lie you kinda do." He said.
"Not helping Jordan....." Sanders said sounding annoyed.
"Well here's the thing. The three of us back lash at Aaron by implying that him and Ryan are secret lovers." Cooper added.
"Alright, I'm down.... For a little while okay? This is the only time I'll ever do anything nice for you Jordan." Sanders said as he got up from his seat and headed to the door.
Gray just kinda stood there like a lost puppy. Cooper looked at him confused.
"The hell you waiting for cowboy? Get moving! I don't need you wasting my air!" Cooper yelled.
~~~
It was the next day. Captain Daniel came in an hour late. It's not the first time he's done that. Sometimes he doesn't even show up. He walked by Agent Sanders as usual. He took a quick glance at him and he looked quite annoyed.
"Sanders what did I tell you about those baggy pants?? They look very unprofessional, what if the some important person comes here and sees you like that? Yeah they wouldn't too happy." Captain Daniel said.
"I mean I'm not the one who's hoeing around wearing skinny jeans to impress young little boys." Sanders back lashed.
The captain just stared at him with an annoyed look.
"Oh what's that? You said you wanna get fired? I mean I can go do that right now if you want, it's no bother." Captain Daniel replied.
Sanders just stayed silent and went back to doing his report for the case he was working on. Agent Torres walked by along with Agent Gray. Every single day, those two walk around together talking about whatever is on their minds. Captain Daniel glanced at Torres and just kinda gave him a weird awkward smile.
"Keep up the good work Torres, cause you know your boss really loves you!" Sanders said sarcastically.
Captain Daniel glared at Sanders. You could tell he was hella annoyed.
"Do you want to get your ass fired?" He said.
"I mean sure! If you insist. Then the work won't really get done around here, since you're always hoeing around with Torres. So y'all kinda do need me." Sanders added.
The Captain just kinda froze. He walked off and slammed the door in his office. Torres glared at Sanders.
"The hell was that for!? Great! Now you've angered him and he's probably gonna give us extra work!" Torres yelled.
"And why are you so worried? Are you worried about him not sucking your dick? I mean can't you just hoe around with him so he gives you a free pass? You won't have to do anything." Sander added.
"The hell has gotten into you Daniel? Why are you acting like a huge douchebag? Y'know what I don't need this!" Torres said.
"Good I was kinda getting tired of you." Sanders said.
Torres shoved past Gray. Gray just looked at Sanders with a worried look.
“Don’t you think that was a little bit too harsh Daniel?” Gray asked.
Sanders was not enjoying doing any of that at all. Torres is his friend and they’ll do anything for each other, but Cooper asked them to do so. Sanders is somewhat terrified at Cooper but he’ll put him down if he needs to.
“You think I’m enjoying this? No! Not at all! That bitch Jordan is basically forcing us to do this shit.” Sanders added.
“Can’t we just, not do this at all?” Gray asked.
Sanders sighed. They just agreed to do this and who knows what Cooper will do if Sanders and Gray want to back down.
Cooper walked by Torres and gave him  a smile. Torres looked at him with an angry look in his face. Cooper did the same thing at him.
“Got anything to say Jordan?? Are you also gonna make a snarky comment like Sanders did?” Torres asked.
“You want me to make a snarky comment on you? How about you quit being a little slut with the Captain and finish this damn case that was due yesterday? Hm?” Cooper said.
Torres just stood there. He was confused on why everyone keeps saying those things to him. Do they know what he’s been up to? Or are they just being douchebags as usual?
“Me? Being a slut with the Captain? That is the most stupidest thing I have ever heard you say from all the dumb shit you say all the time in the past years.” Torres added.
“You know it’s true Ryan. You think I haven’t noticed how Aaron treats you like a princess? He’s always giving you all the credit even though we all work as hard as you do! The Employee of the Month wall is your face all over it! And what do the rest of us get? Nothing! He’s always like ‘Here sweetie, you get the medal of honor because you’ve worked equally as hard as everyone else!’ And not to mention, I saw him show up at your apartment the other day giving you the goo goo eyes!” Cooper went off.
“Keep it down will ya? Someone will hear you.” Torres whispered.
“Well TOO BAD! Because most of everyone knows about your little love fest with the Captain! Why the hell are you even doing this!? I mean why him!? Out of literally anyone else, why him!? You’re way too young for him!” Cooper shouted.
There was a long pause. Torres didn’t bother looking at Cooper’s face, he could tell he furious. This isn’t their first time getting into an argument. Usually they fight over the dumbest things ever but this time it was serious.
“Jordan....” He began. “Mind your own DAMN BUSINESS!” He shouted as he shoved Cooper and walked off.
Cooper stared at him. He wasn’t sure on what he should do. His vision started to get blurry. A tear ran down his face.
"Dammit Ryan...." He whispered.
Soaring light (chapter 1)
thank you for your lovely comments and messages for the prologue!! here’s the first chapter!
Name: Soaring Light
Fandom: Skam france
Pairing: Lucas Lallemant/Eliott Demaury
Tags: assassin!au, falling in love, angst, hurt/comfort
Summary: Do not get attached, do not waste time, do not engage in any physical contact… The list of rules were long, but Lucas had never been the one to follow orders. In fact, he might have broken all of them in just a week, all because of the piercing blue eyes staring at him from the assignment in his hands, and the charming, mysterious boy they belonged to.
Chapter summary: Lucas tries to be very subtle as he online-stalks Eliott. It doesn’t go too well.
——--
(prologue can be found at the soaring-light tag at my blog, just click on the tag on this post. tumblr don't wanna show my post in the search tag if I put in links... and on ao3 with the username thetimeisnow)
CHAPTER ONE Why were storms a thing? Who invited storms? Lucas was going to find out and kick his ass. It was stupid, the rain covering his sight was stupid. The way he can’t see in front of the road he’s driving on was stupid.
The whole day was stupid.
Lucas had spent five hours trying find Eliott Demoury, but there was no one at his apartment, no one at his registered working place and no one at his two favorite coffee shops. He had googled his name and regretted it in a second, because dousins - no, hundreds - of model photos of the perfectly sculptured face and the piercing deep blue eyes stared back at him and Lucas had let his laptop fall close with a groan.
He can’t be attracted to his assignment to kill. Well, technically, he could. It wasn’t in the rules. The contract just said he wasn’t allowed any physical contact with his targets, mostly to hide all traces of DNA. And to make sure he didn’t get attached, which was another rule. Well fuck him, just the picture of this man got his knees weak.
Lucas hesitated a moment, then sent a text.
-
To: Manon D.
Change?
-
Change of contract, that meant. Manon would know that. In their work of line you had to keep yourself short and never, absolutely never, give out any information over the phone. Especially not their private phone. Lucas knew he’d most likely get his brains blown out if he said too much and he would never risk one of his closest friends and colleagues life as well. His phone buzzed. Manon, quick with a response as always.
-
From: Manon D.
No thanks, got my dream man ;)
-
To: Manon D.
Ugh. Fine. Drinks tonight?
-
From: Manon D.
That’s a yes, thanks. I’ll tell Mika and Emma. See you at 8?
-
To: Manon D.
Lol, sure. Bringing the boys if they’re up. See you, sunshine.
-
From: Manon D.
Dickhead.
-
Lucas rolled his eyes. His ever the lovely friend and colleague, Manon. They had worked in the same business for two years before they realised they were both carrying the same burden. They had been on the same funeral, a funeral for an older man whose two sons were the target of Manon, and his new wife was assigned to Lucas. He remembered it like it was yesterday as they stood gaping, staring at each other in the church when the priest did his thing.
A smile appeared on his lips at the memory. Back then, it had been the shock of his life but now it was a fun thing to remind him how small the world was. They were going to meet at their usual bar, and Lucas had actually seen a few pictures of the blue eyed God in just that bar when he googled his name, so maybe his luck would turn tonight. He could use that as an excuse to get pissed drunk.
Perfect. Just what he needed.
He parked his car exceptionally well considering the storm raging outside. It was only 6pm, but the sky was pitched black. He gave the car window a good, long stare before he forced himself to get the door open. The few meters from the car to the door of the building he lived in felt like a mile and his clothes was drenched in rain as he stumbled inside, muttering angrily to himself.
Stupid ass weather. He was going to kick its ass.
His older neighbour greeted him from the stairs and Lucas threw up his hand in a reply, he didn’t really feel like speaking until he was in comfortable, warm, dry clothes. And a beer in his hand. Maybe a joint between his lips. Ah. Perfect.
Pulling on his sweatpants like his life depended on it, he hurried towards his bed. Where the magic happens, as his best friend Yann dramatically put it when he visited Lucas new apartment for the first time. Well, where his hand happened. Or, another correction, where his hand was supposed to happen. But how no matter how much he tried, what type of porn he put on, he couldn’t get those stupid fucking blue eyes out of his head long enough to concentrate on jerking off, and there was no way he was going to pleasure himself thinking of his next assignment to kill.
Fucking hell.
Eliott really got the best of him. He needed to get rid of this guy fast, so he could get back to his normal routines, so his body could see some hot, big tits chick on his phone screen and think that’s hot! and not but it’s not him. How was this even possible? He hadn’t even met the guy!
In conclusion, his visit to the bed was unsuccessful. Lucas groaned loudly, burying his face in his pillow. He couldn’t wait to get drunk. A week from now Eliott would be dead and Lucas would be rich and he’d get the fuck out of Paris. He’d bring Yann, Basile and Arthur and they’d go to Amsterdam, or something. Find a nice penthouse apartment where they could throw the best parties in Netherlands, bring the best people and smoke a ridiculous amount of weed.
Lucas phone rang. He glanced over at the screen the name of his best friend staring back at him. Yann would know if he ignored him, that guy could read him like a book.
“Yep”, he answered as he put the phone to his ear.
“We going out tonight?”
“Uh-uh. Manon, Mika and Emma too.”
Yann went quiet for a moment. “Emma?”
“Dude. It was years ago, pull it together.” He gave out a light chuckle.
“Fine”, Yann sighed loudly, “only so you get get your lonely ass out there.”
Lucas laughed at him and got up to a sitting position on his bed. “Do you know a Eliott Demuary?” he asked. That wouldn’t hurt, Yann didn’t know he did for a living. Lucas wanted to tell him badly, but he wasn’t going to risk his best friend’s life only to have someone to talk murder with, that would be dumb. Yann wasn’t stupid though, and Lucas suspected he had a slight suspicion of what he did during his days; not that he’d ever tell him, or that Yann would ever get it confirmed.
“Of course”, Yann replied and Lucas almost choked on his own spit.
Okay. That wasn’t the answer he expected at all. It took a few moment for him to pull himself back together and hide the sudden excitement in his voice as he tried to sound as carefree as possible. “Aha”, he said and shrugged, “how’s that?”
“Why are you asking?” Yann was hesitating.
Fuck. Maybe he didn’t sound as carefree as he thought. “You know, just saw a picture of him.”
“Yeah, he went to our school…”
Lucas frowned. “What? No?”
He imagined Yann nodding from the other line. “Yeah, he did. Literature, I think, not sure. Don’t you remember, everyone was talking about him?”
Lucas did definitely not remember, because there was no way he could forget a face like that. “Are you for real?”
“Yeah!” Yann exclaimed, “are you? Ladies were fighting to get into his pants.”
“Shit.” How did he manage to miss this? Lucas shook his head, no, it didn’t matter. Now he had a way in to complete his assignment and he should be very happy for that since Eliott apparently didn’t want to be found. “Cool. Awesome. Nice. I mean, have you met him recently?”
Yann was silent for a moment. “Are you crushing on Demuary?”
Lucas gasped. “Excuse me? I am not!”
“I don’t blame you. He’s hot and- Oh, sorry, forgot you’re still hiding in the closet.”
Lucas pouted and wished Yann was standing in front of him so he could shove a middle finger up his face. Yann knew he was - or maybe was? He wasn’t really sure himself - gay. A little gay. Just a tiny little bit. Like, dick is nice and all and titties isn’t as nice. Which, in conclusion meant; a little gay. “Unfair”, he told him, “was just asking.”
He could hear Yann moving around. “Well, haven’t met him in a while but I’ve seen him in town a few times. Seriously Lu-Lu, you didn’t know he went to our school?”
“I didn’t, I swear! I wouldn’t forget a face like that. I mean, Yann, have you seen him?”
His best friend laughed. “Yeah, I have. How about you spend some time crying over a picture of Eliott and I come over with some beer?”
“Yeah, that’s fine.”
“Great. I’ll be over in 45.”
Lucas ended the call without saying good bye. He had no time to waste when he only had 45 minutes to google some more information about this mysterious man, who apparently went to their school. Did that mean Eliott knew who he was? No, that would be impossible. If he hadn’t seen Eliott, Eliott hadn’t seen him.
He found an instagram account. With a stupid fucking riddle to solve. It took Lucas longer than he chose to admit to figure out the name of Eliott’s second account, but when he did; it was absolutely worth it. A majority of his posts were black and white art. It looked like doodles but there was real talent behind it.
Too bad he was going to kill the guy, he would really want to hear the stories about the numerous posts of raccoons. A short video caught his attention; Eliott in a black hoodie, staring into the camera with his lips pressed together and his hair in a soft mess on his head. He zoomed slowly until there was nothing else than his left eye covering the screen. Lucas found himself sighing, feeling like an absolute jerk about having to end this, clearly well liked and talented young man’s life.
Most of Lucas’ targets were old men. Rapists, embezzlement criminals or other scandals more often than not involving money. He’d never really felt bad about killing them, a lot of them deserved to die. Lucas never stayed to see if his job was finished after poisoning his targets; he learned early on that it was way easier to get caught that way. Instead, he showed up a few days later, or watched the news if his target was someone famous or well-known.
But Eliott. He couldn’t believe this man had done anything to deserve to die. 50k was a lot of money and the higher the prize, the worse the crime. That’s how it usually went, anyways.
And in that moment, trying to pause the video just when Eliott zoomed in on his eyes, Lucas fucked up. He liked the video. Panicking, he yelped, a high pitched noise he’d be embarrassed to even try to describe, and got up from his bed fast enough to make his vision blur. As a first reaction his brain thought of the brilliant idea to throw the phone away from him to keep him from making more mistakes, but then he realised that shit, he need to unlike the video before Eliott noticed. He stumbled after the phone, tripping over a shirt on the floor and hit his toe in the foot of the bed at the same time. Ignoring the pain radiating through his body, he reached over the bed in panic and clicked on the red heard so fast and intensely that he accidentally disliked and liked it again.
Lucas wanted to scream. With an surprisingly steady hand, he finally managed to to unlike the video and sank down on the floor with a loud groan of disappointment. Shit. What the hell. Being subtle wasn’t his best personality trait, obviously.
Eliott had a lot of followers, someone liking his video wouldn’t matter, right? That was, of course, if his theory that Eliott didn’t know who he was, was correct. Lucas considered blocking him but quickly threw that idea aside; the video was worth seeing a few more times.
The doorbell rang. Yann. Had it been 45 minutes already? Apparently it had, because Yann was standing with a big grin and beer in both hands as Lucas opened the door, still sweaty and his heart beating like crazy in his chest.
“You look like you just ran a marathon. Which I know you wouldn’t.”
“Fuck you”, Lucas smirked at him, giving him a helping hand with the beer. “I accidentally liked one of Eliott Demaury’s posts on instagram. It was stressful.”
Yann let out a snort. “When he sees it, he’ll show up with flowers and a ring and propose right here, I’m calling it.”
“I unliked it. And liked it again. And then unliked it again.”
“Even I am slightly embarrassed for you now”, Yann laughed, “let’s drink to forget about it.”
Lucas smirk grew, it sounded like a good plan. Little did he know, forget about  it was the least he would do that night.
Dancing in the Rain - Chapter 2 (Seventeen Dino X reader)
Chapter 1 Chapter 3 Chapter 4
Words: 2140
Genre: Fluff
Warnings: none
Notes: rereading this made me smile, and I hope it makes someone else smile
Your mom wakes you up the next morning. Well, technically all she does is stick her head into the room and shout "Wake up!".
Groaning, you roll out of bed. You wince when your cheek brushes against the mattress. Your cheek is even more sore now than it was last night, and it feels swollen too. After you get dressed, you do your make-up and gently apply concealer over the bruise. You don't want your mom to get worried. She probably wouldn't notice anyway, but you don't want her to yell at you for getting into trouble.
When you finally leave your room, your mom has already disappeared in her study, working as always. It's usually best to leave her alone when she's busy, so you walk into the kitchen and make yourself breakfast. Normally you would make her something, too, but you realize that she's already eaten because of the dirty dishes in the sink.
After you eat and wash the dishes, you take your favorite book and blanket and snuggle up in the reading nook by the window. After a while you put down the book and just stare out of the window into the sunlit yard. A few water droplets are still dotting the window, sparkling like pearls. Through them, you watch the reflection of the partly cloudy sky in a puddle. You can't believe Dino was standing there just last night.
Absentmindedly, you rub the bump on your head. You grit your teeth as you remember the sheer panic that gripped you moments before Dino showed up. You don't even want to imagine what would have happened if he hadn't been there.
The annoying beeping of your phone distracts you from your dark thoughts. As you unlock your phone, you see just how late it is. You've been sitting there for hours. The text is from Ji Woo.
"Why is Dino wearing your hoodie?", it says.
Frowning, you quickly type a response.
"What do you mean???"
Not a minute later, Ji Woo answers.
"Didn't you see the pics from this morning? He was wearing it at the fansign!"
A quick search later, you gasp. She's right. That's definitely your blue dragon hoodie, the one you lost last night. The one he said he would find for you. But he never said anything about wearing it! You scroll through the comments, and a particular one catches your eye.
"This is one of my favorite looks on him!!!", you read.
You giggle. The fan is right, the hoodie looks amazing on him. You also notice that he must have washed it. You're relieved that the rain didn't ruin it, and that it's not lost after all. But one question remains: How are you going to get your hoodie back?
"He must have found it", you text Ji Woo, realizing she's still waiting for an explanation, but not wanting to repeat everything that happened last night.
"And he just kept it? That's not very nice."
You chuckle.
"What else was he supposed to do? I'm sure he's way too busy to find me just to return a hoodie!"
"But why is he wearing it?"
"I have no idea. It's not like he doesn't have any clothes."
You frown and think it over.
"I guess he just likes it", you add.
"Min Ah says you should call Maria. Maybe she knows how to contact him so you can get it back", Ji Woo writes.  You hesitate. A new message comes in. It's from an unknown number.
"Hey is this y/n?"
You raise your eyebrows. How did someone get your number? You've only given this number to Min Ah and Ji Woo. And Maria, through the sign-up sheet, you remember.
"Yes, who is this?", you type back, hoping that it's Maria and not some creepy stalker.
"It's Dino. Just letting you know, I have your hoodie!"
You laugh.
"Never mind, he just texted me.", you inform Ji Woo. Then you switch back to Dino's message.
"Thank you so much! I thought I'd never see it again!"
"It's very cool. Def suits you ;)"
"Are you saying I'm as fierce as a dragon? That's probs the best compliment I've ever gotten :)"
"You're welcome :D"
You stare at the phone in your lap, still confused as to why he would go through so much trouble just to give you your hoodie back. You purse your lips and scroll through the photos of the fansign again. You're not so sure anymore if you even want it back. You kind of like seeing him wear it. It's crazy that it fits you both so well. It was pretty baggy on you, but he fills it out very well. The more you stare at Dino, the more you want to tell him to just keep it.
But then again, if he gives it back to you, it would give you an excuse to see him again. You try to ignore the butterflies in your stomach. You watch dots appear on your screen. Dino is typing again.
"So what's he saying??? Spill it we're both dying over here!"
False alarm, it's just Ji Woo again.
"Not much. I guess he's trying to figure out how to get it back to me."
"Awesome! Ask him out on a date while you're at it ;)"
You snort.
"Calm down, he's just being nice."
"Yeah, right...".
At the same time, Dino finally sends his message.
"Would you like to come by the dorm later to pick it up?"
You chew your lip and eventually decide that it would be too weird if you asked him to keep wearing it. You don't want him to think you're obsessed or something.
"Sure! Just give me a time and I'll be there."
You don't feel as enthusiastic as the message suggests. The first time he met you, you made a fool out of yourself, twice. Three times, if you count your dumb idea of walking home alone in the dark. No wonder he didn't want to leave you alone even when you got home. He must think that you don't have enough brain cells to even take care of yourself.
"And don't worry, I'll get there in one piece -.-", you add, fearing he'll appoint himself as your personal bodyguard or something. Not that you would mind having him by your side all the time. You shake your head and put your phone down. You can hear your mom rummage through the drawers somewhere in the house. Following the sound, you stop at the doorway to the kitchen and watch the spectacle as it unfolds in front of you.
Your mom, not by any means a tall woman, is balancing on top of a chair, trying to reach the plates on the top shelf.
At the same time, the water on the stove is boiling over. You rush to the pot and pull it off the heat as quickly as you can. The sound of water sizzling angrily as it hits the hot stove top grinds your ears.
“Thank you sweetie!” Your mom jumps off the chair and it’s a miracle that she doesn’t drop the plates.
“You’re cooking?”, you ask, shocked. You’ve never seen her in the kitchen for more than a few minutes at a time before.
“Sure”, she says. She walks over to the pot and pokes a fork into the potatoes. You smile as you look around and take in the array of ingredients and cooking utensils strewn across the kitchen.
“Thank you, mom”, you say, your voice thick with emotion. You’re so used to taking care of yourself when you lived with your dad that it didn’t even occur to you that someone would do something like this for you.
“Can I help?”, you ask, already moving to the counter to cut up some more vegetables.
“That’d be great. I may be just a little bit in over my head”, she admits, relief coloring her voice.
“Of course. It’ll be great!”
It’s not long before the two of you have prepared a simple meal and are sitting together at the table, eating and chatting happily.
“So how was dance class?”, she asks.
Your face lights up as you tell her excitedly about your new friends and the awesome choreography you’re learning.
“And they even go to the same school!”, you exclaim.
Your mom’s phone rings. She leaves the room to answer it and the smile leaves your face. You know she won’t be back anytime soon. Her work is important, you remind yourself. You gather up the dishes and chuck the rest of your mom’s meal into the trash can. Sighing, you begin to wash the dishes by yourself.
When you get back to your room, you check your phone. There are several notifications.
“What’s going on?? You’ve got to tell us everything!” You smirk. Min Ah is just as nosy as Ji Woo.
“I’m going by their dorm to pick up my hoodie later”, you tell her. You switch over to Dino’s messages and stare at the last one he sent you.
“Of course you are. It’s not like you tend to trip over your own feet or anything‍‍ :P”
You scrunch up your nose.
“Ugh that was one time!”, you reply. “I can’t believe you’re coming for me like this!”
“You said yourself that I’m not an angel. I’m still curious why you think that btw”.
You roll your eyes. You don’t believe for a second that he doesn’t know exactly how much he drives his fans crazy every time he’s on camera.
“Have you seen yourself dance?”
“The real question is, have YOU seen YOURself dance?”, he shoots back. The question confuses you, so you just type a few question marks and wait on him to elaborate.
“Are you serious? How did you get so lucky?” Min Ah still won’t let this go.
“I’ve been asking myself the same thing”, you tell her.
You fall into your bed and stare at your ceiling, shaking your head. The real question is, when will your luck run out? Because it always does eventually, and usually at the most inconvenient time.
Evening sneaks up on you and before you know it, you’re standing at the address Dino sent you, stepping from one foot to the other. You’re not sure you’re actually ready for this. Meeting Dino was one thing, but you’re afraid you might suffer a heart attack if you come face to face with all 13 of your favorite idols.
Taking a deep breath, you raise your hand and rap against the door. One time, two times, three. Your heart is beating fast. You stick your hands into the front pocket of your second favorite hoodie and clench them into fists. If only you weren’t so nervous.
The door opens, and you look up, expecting Dino. It’s DK.
“Hey”, he says. “You’re y/n, right?”
You nod slowly, not quite trusting your voice. You follow him inside. Dino stands up when you enter the room. Dk disappears through one of the doors, leaving you alone with Dino.
“Hello”, you say, waving awkwardly. He walks over and raises his hand to your face, but hesitates before touching you.
“Hey”, he whispers.
“It looks worse than it is”, you try to reassure him. He doesn’t look convinced. Suddenly he turns around and gets your hoodie from the back of the couch.
You smile in thanks as you take it back. It smells like him. You look down and feel the soft fabric between your fingers, very aware of his eyes on you.
“You wore it”, you state, looking up, unspoken question in your eyes.
He blushes and scratches his head.
“Ah, I’m sorry about that. My stylist saw me with it and she wanted me to wear it”.
You nod and turn towards the door.
“It’s alright”, you say over your shoulder. “Thanks for giving it back”. It seems you’ll never run out of things to thank him for.
You’re already out of the door when he calls after you.
“Y/n wait!” You turn around again and raise your eyebrows. He’s given back your hoodie. What else could he possibly want?
He doesn’t speak, just looks at you with an expression on his face that you don’t understand. Whatever he wanted to say, he can’t seem to find the right words.
You turn around and walk away. But you can’t shake the feeling that he didn’t want you to leave. If you didn’t know any better, you’d say he enjoyed having you around. You shake your head. The only reason he contacted you was because he had your hoodie. Now that you have it back, you need to move on. You can’t allow yourself to get lost in the illusion that someone like Dino could actually care about you.
The True Maniac
You are the chosen one, they say. You are meant to be the savior of the world, they say. All those words, they are my company every day, day after day, they follow me, stalk me, haunt me everyday of my life, it's almost insane. Wait...it IS  insane. Funny you should say that really cause ya know, I knew this gal the other day who had a hot ass and gosh she was cute and I could go on and on...oh...oops...I went on one of my rants again. I'm sorry. I'm rude. I should start again. My name is Johnny Lawrence and you are probably one of the voices and people that come through my head each and every day, you all keep me company, it's kinda sweet, but in a creepy way. But I'm the step son of Sid Weinburg, he's the CEO of Texaco and Time Warner, yes, that guy on TV that asks you for more subscriptions, that creepy greasy guy is my step dad, funny you should ask why the bloody hell am I related to that guy in the first place. Ah, it's a long story really, I hope you have patience cause I'm probably gonna ramble and ramble and go off on maniac induced episodes where my thoughts might not connect with my words and my stories may seem more fantastical than usual, it's all up to you to whether to believe me or not, I don't care if you don't, nobody has believed me in a long while.
You still here? Wow. I'm suprised, most voices and people tend to go away after awhile, you are creepy as hell, after my imaginary dead brother York, who by the way never existed, nor was ever born. I hope for the sake of my story, no York was ever born in San Francisco, it's highly unlikely, but hey, you never know.
Oh and by the way, I lost my girlfriend becuase of a BLIP, lost my title for the All Valley Championship cause I was concussed and dizzy and hallucinating, only to be fucking crane kicked in the face. But hey, at least I have a job as a Rad Tech and am living on my own, so ha! You can't call me a basement dweller since I live in a apartment all by myself overlooking the ocean and ninety percent of the time, I see tourists hanging out there taking selfies and making out like it is some sort of lover's nest. Ugh, I guess I get what I pay for...literally...I got this place on the cheap side with the help of AdBuddy since I could barely afford it on my own and rent is fucking up my savings, like C'mon, stop fucking me up here damn it! And not to mention the fact that my REAL step brother's trial Ryan Weinberg, who has been accused of sexual harassment at the workplace and I was named as a witness, my step dad wants me to lie on the stand...can I do that? I mean... that just feels so wrong, very wrong. Tell me I'm not the only one that I'm feeling this way, cause I have no idea what to do next.
Oh...great Jed is here, wait just a minute while I talk to him.
"What are you doing here?"
"Oh Johnny, just here to deliver your latest mission, the details will be soon revealed as you go."
"Don't you think this is not the right time?"
"Oh but it is."
"Oh and by the way, you will have a handler, she has a certain Jai sais ne qoui about her. You will know her when you see her...DON'T FUCK THIS UP!"
Okay...now Jed has left and I'm still stuck with you. You have this intense, scruffy look about you...I can tell you really are a curious person, you aren't like the others before...that's interesting. Most have tried to change me, give me orders or tell me that I'm chosen or some bullshit...some of those days I'm convinced of that bullshit and actually believing it, the scariest part is not hearing a lie, it's believing the lie and perpetuating the lie. I get up and head to my apartment and flick all my pills that are there to "fix" me...you can't fix what is broken and I am broken.
I also find the package for Neberdine Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology. Odd...they never send me anything, I haven't even heard of them at all. It is scary and creepy though, I wonder if the FBI is watching me, I might close the curtains and I should...you think I could be watched...right? I...I feel like everything has eyes and cameras and ears and mics and all the tech in the world to enhance interrogate me before I have a chance to defend myself...wait...the phone is ringing...I have to pick it up, just wait here ok?
"He...hello? Who is this?"
"This is Neberdine Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology research institute inc. Speaking, we are here to speak to you becuase you have been chosen as a "Hero" Candidate"
"Well...what DOES a hero candidate do?"
"Well we have them do experiments that others normally do not do and we treat all sorts of problems, including prostate problems"
"Popcorn problems?"
"Yes popcorn problems."
"Thank you...I'll consider it."
I hang up the phone in utter confusion and now you are looking at me like I'm an idiot! STOP STARING AT ME JOHN KREESE! STOP!
END OF PART ONE
I get up and, oh...fuck, you are there again, well done you asshole, you are still with me. Oh well, I don't have time to yell and holler at you, I have to get ready and go to work and then head over to my parents house, my brother is celebrating his engagement to Adelade and they are going to announce a wedding date and it all is amongst this scandal of his sexual harassment of a clerk. I have no ideas what I feel or where I stand anymore.
Work is a boring affair as you can tell, you're already doing your kiyakis and forward thrust punches and I'm busy as hell scanning patients and I have lots of paperwork, not to mention the decontamination process I have to go through every day just for health purposes so I'm not literally emitting X Rays by the time I leave the hospital.
Getting rides on the tube to my parent's mansion is very expensive for now since my budget has been tightened becuase I went on a mania induced spending spree and I racked up so many charges and fees from gambling with the furries and casinos are never happy to see me, I never understood why that was the case.
Regardless, I have to call on an AdBuddy and he soon comes over and inserts funds into my account, but in exchange, I have to view a bunch of ads that are read aloud by the AdBuddy and one of them is about Neberdine Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology. Neberdine is everywhere...the pattern is the pattern, there is a larger force at work here and I'm sure of it. I know it, I can feel it at work, it's a bit mysterious to others, but not me, I'm the only one who understands how this works at all.
I can see you have cleaned up real nicely for the occasion and I thank you for that, I have to admit Sensei, you really look handsome in a suit, it really suits you...get it? Hahaha! Oh...I see you don't get the joke? Oh...ok, oh well then. I then go in and hand my coat to the butler and head up the stairs through the foyer and then meet my parents, my step mom and my step dad, both are looking regal tonight since their oldest firstborn is celebrating his engagement again since my "Incident". I hate to admit it but the nieces and nephews are the only reason I even bother show up to family functions at all, I hate this fake, plastic family filled with Barbies and Ken's, I want something more than this Kreese...but what is it I want?
Soon my brother Ryan is busy singing and wooing Adelade and she's smiling and tearing up and all that sappy shit, I wonder if she's marrying him for the money, I would hate for that to happen to Ryan, I had my own experience with Ali Mills and it didn't end well at all.
Soon the adults want to play balderdash but honestly, I feel suffocated and I wanted out of here as soon as possible, the fakeness was getting to me and I can hear them begging me
"Aw cmon! You used to love balderdash"
"Balderdash is fun!"
"Really? What's wrong, play with us!"
"Please play with us! Just one round! I promise!"
At that, I just can't stand it anymore, there is a roaring fury in me that explodes and I yell at the top of my lungs
"BALDERDASH IS STUPID! IT'S BULLSHIT!"
One of my nieces burst out in tears and I can only look on in guilt as as my other brother Andrew glares at me angrily, great...another brother that hates me...fun. I storm out and I see you following me, why do you follow me? Leave me alone, just let me get a smoke, at that moment I can see one of the dog shit cleaners whirr by, it's a small machine the height of my ankle and it sucks in the shit and sprays the sidewalk clean and I walk past and go home...I have to do this, this is everything I will do, to sign up for the trial and to cast you out for good, you had a great run but you need to fuck off.
I arrive at a grey concrete bulding with narrow Rainbow stripes running up the side and I can see the sign of the bulding is in Japanese and I enter and a Japanese woman coldly greets me and hands me a clipboard filled with paperwork, judging on the amount I have, I'm gonna be here a long time just filling out papers. Fuck my life. Another guy next to me adds "Ooo five bombs eh? See that? That's where the money comes from." Sure enough, there are five bomb logos printed on it and I add
"Is it safe?"
"Hell no! The more dangerous, the more money! That is usually how it goes."
I look down at the form and then sign it and turn it in and the intercom says
"Johnny Lawrence to intake exam room four"
The Asian woman bows before me and I bow back and I sit down in the chair, I'm apparently going to be strapped to a lie detector machine. The blood pressure cuff is slipped on my arm and a pulse ox device is placed on my finger and a galvanic skin response device is placed across my chest, she then asks me to tell her how I feel when I see a series of photos. I can hear the clicking of the machine as the metal needles move up and down the paper, leaving trails of red, recording my reactions and my responses and she starts with the first photo which is a bottle of pills and I reply
"Poisoned"
The next picture is of a family, sitting around a table and enjoying a meal and I reply
"Suffocated"
I then see a ink blot and I reply
"Confused."
The test goes on and soon she says "I want you to turn your attention towards me as I ask you this final question." And I look up into her expressionless eyes and I hear a ding and the green light next to me lights up and she said "Congratulations, you have passed the test, you are now in the ULP Phase III trial." She bowed at me and I bowed one last time and I left the exam room, perplexed at what was the final question. I sit down, holding my badge that is labeled with the number 1 on it and as I look up, I see a man I never thought I would ever see again in the flesh, Daniel LaRusso and he is yelling at a test protocor screaming "This is bullshit and you know it! PATRICIA LUGO!" And he storms off after the woman that handed me the clipboard, I don't know what does he want with her but FUCKK!!! HE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE HERE! DAMMIT!
End of part Two
I get up for the day and I stretch the kinks and massage my knee, fuck, that knee has been giving me so much chronic pain for so long, I have resorted to opiates to at least bring the edge down, it doesn't help much with my life, I don't have a job becuase I'm labeled a "Drug addict."
I'm a drug addict for trying to relive chronic, never ending pain from the shattered knee, it's the same knee that suffered a devastating injury at the tournament and yet I managed to defeat Lawrence, Chozen worsened the injury and when I worked in construction, an accident shattered the knee and now I have to put it in a brace so it doesn't cave in on the weight that I put on my knee.
I slip on the brace and grab a stack of magazines and some cash and walk to the nearby store and ask for some cigarettes, the clerk asks me how I am going to pay and I snap
"I'm gonna pay with an AdBuddy."
"No AdBuddy payments accepted here."
I groan and pull out what little change I have and I slam it on the countertop and then he hands me my cigars and I light them, soon I feel a bliss sink over me as I limp back to the shared apartment I have with the others and I run to my room...I NEED THAT PILL! I want to suffer in a way that my knee can never give me suffering, this is the suffering that makes me scream and want to tear out my soul and I have begged for death so many times, but really, I am alone.
San Francisco is a boring as hell city, I moved here when my mom died seven years ago, I gave up hoping for healing, my opioids and my cigarettes were all I ever needed now a days. I swipe the drawer open and open the bottle. The pill is shaped in the letter "A" and I sigh, this is my last pill. I say
"This is it, you are my last pill, then it's fuck you forever."
I then sit on the couch in the cramped and messy living room and I grab the remote control and mash the pill up and snort it all up and gosh...I'm in it.
I wake up hours later, I'm in tears yes, but I am alive, this pain reminds me that I am alive, that I am breathing and that I am fighting, that I'm still awake and that I'm still ok. But I have to pay someone a visit, someone I haven't visited in forever, someone that I haven't spoken to in forever.
I then go to my wallet and yell at my roommate
"Who stole my money?"
"Well you haven't paid your share of the rent in two months!"
"MAYBE IT'S BECUASE I HAVE CHRONIC PAIN AND I CAN'T WORK! I'M ON DISABILITY!"
Oh wow...way to go you son of a bitch, you had to screw that up. Well then, let's try another tactic, the puppy brown eyes and some pleasing.
"Well can I at least have twenty bucks?"
"Well then, fine take some. Calm down junkie!"
Oh Fuck you bitch, like you had your knee kicked in and your knee crushed by some careless truck driver who was high on No-Doze to realize you were nearly under the fucking truck.
I snatch the bill from her hand and I go to my cousin Louie's home, as usual, he is in his A-Void pod, that antisocial idiot hates everybody, well I need his money and I need it now, I'm a man on a mission and nothing is going to stop me. One problem, he changed the combination to the safe and I grunt and I head out to the backyard and i find the pod and press the button and say
"Hey Cousin? How are you?"
A mechanical click and then he replies
"Fine."
I snort
"Your yard looks like a fucking mess."
And it literally is a fucking mess.
"Oh um...what's the combination to the safe."
Another click and a whirr and he replies
"I changed the combination to the safe."
"Thanks for the information Captain Obvious. So what is it?"
"Your birthday."
Really? Fuck you.
"I brought you something to eat."
"Applejacks?"
"Yea."
I slam the cereal on the table top in the dining room which looks like it has seen better days, I step over rubbish and junk from the good old days and I then enter the combination and then I grab the money and then leave, funny how my cousin used to be married until his wife was shot to death while coming back to work, I guess in a way, he can't move on from his loss like I can't move on from mine.
I stand at the bus station, ready to buy the bus ticket to Newark, but as soon as I want to enter the bus station, I want the A pill, I want it so badly, I can't resist the urge and I mutter a "Fuck you" and run off. I'm so ashamed and angry, I am weak and pathetic, that's all I'll ever be.
I approach my friend Kamreon who is playing chess with a foul mouthed furrie and the man is winning and Kameron is my source of these pills, I know that he can get me to them, I know so. I approach him and I ask
"I need more A pills."
"I can't, these pills are really hard to procure! These are from my dad's work!"
"Then how do I get into Neberdine?"
"Sign up for a study, help my dad make millions, for all I know, you could be testing deodorant for a week."
Fuck no, I am NOT going that route, to just end up testing deodorant, no way!
"Gimme a name Kameron! Any name!"
I slide over a one hundred dollar bill and he sighs and gives in before replying
"Patricia Lugo, and can I say something as your friend?"
"Yeah?"
"You sound like a junkie."
I roll my eyes and reply
"I am NOT a junkie!"
And I run off to a store that can dox that woman and give me something to work with.
End of part three
I soon arrive at the doxxing shop and a bored Asian man looks up at me and asks
"What can I do?"
I look to the side before scribbling onto a notepad and hold it up to the Plexar glass barrier and the unamused looking man adds
"Can't read your shit writing."
I roll my eyes before adding
"Lugo. Patricia Lugo of Neberdine Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology."
A few clicks of the keyboard later and a click of a mouse and he continues
"Patricia Lugo was arrested for disorderly conduct and public intoxication, had her arrest records wiped by ZipDox in order to get the job at Neberdine. But, ZipDox's records can be easily unscrubbed and that's why I call ZipDox, ShitDox. If you want more, you gotta pay us more than she paid ShitDox to get her records scrubbed. I'll say...500 dollars, and you get a free calendar as a frequent customer."
I sigh and slip the Bill's under the glass partition and he hands the calendar over and then adds further
"Patricia Lugo lost custody of her daughter Usnavy after the arrest and her daughter goes to Hunter College. I could have her daughter kidnapped, I know a few guys with a white van."
I shake my head, I don't want anybody hurt, that's the last thing I want, for anybody to get hurt in my search, my quest for the A pill. Nobody should get caught up in my quest for me to drown myself in self-misery and self-pity. He then adds
"It also says she has a FriendProxy appointment at the Bonsai Gardens."
"I'll be there."
"Ooo interception. Sneaky I see."
He smiles snidely and I pay up and leave and then I cancel her FriendProxy appointment and get a lapel pin with a FriendProxy logo on it and then I stride over to the gardens, they remind me again of someone I lost, someone I cared about, someone who meant so much to me in a fatherly way, the bonsai trees remind of him so much, it is really painful, and suddenly, she comes over and embraces me, breaking me from my thoughts and she says without a second thought.
"Remember when we met here? At this same place?"
"Oh yeah...oh yeah, all the beautiful Bonsai trees. They remind me of so much."
"I wonder what are you talking about? I was talking about the moment we met? Remember when we also went to Chinatown and we went over the Golden Gate Bridge?"
"Oh yeah, and I remember when we went to see my uncle Liam."
"Now who the fuck is Uncle Liam?"
That question brings my thoughts to a screeching halt as she continues:
"Honey? Are you ok? What are your ratings? You do not seem compatible at all."
I'm fucking pissed off, I'm not compatible with anyone and to hell with that bullshit talking lady! All she seems to do is yammer off on a tangent that I sure as hell do not talk about. Before I can stop myself, I cut her off and say:
"Listen up, I'm here to fuck your life up, I canceled your FriendProxy appointment and I'm here to ruin you forever."
She is taken aback and shocked, she seemed a bit stunned by what I was saying and I'm not sure how to react to that as she slowly digests the information and she adds
"What are you talking about."
And what am I talking about? I haven't a fucking clue at all. Perhaps it's the drugs or the energy that's fizzling out but I feel so ashamed and embarrassed, I have no idea how the hell am I supposed to get her to funnel me at all, I quickly walk away to a hall overlooking a pond where koi fish swim around and I see her again and she says
"You know, you remind me of my daughter. She's just like you. Why?"
"What do you mean?"
"Why are so you desperate to join Neberdine?"
When Forces Collide
Okay firstly I wrote this a while back and I honestly adored this show. I really hope that there are still fans of Kick Buttowski! Here's a Kick X Kendall fic! I hope you all like it!
Stay healthy vanilla107 xoxo
Summery: When a science experiment goes horribly wrong, Kick Buttowski and Kendall Perkins are punished by having to work together for the upcoming dance. Kendall who has always been in charge of the dance is convinced that Kick will ruin it and Kick thinks that the dance will be incredibly boring with Kendall being in charge. What happens when they put aside their differences? Will a love blossom?
Read on A03
Kendall Perkins was a perfect student.
She aced all her classes, was involved in extra-curricular activities and her attendance record was flawless. The only thing holding her back was the fact that she had developed the weirdest crush in the local daredevil, Clarence ‘Kick’ Buttowski.
Clarence had been a thorn in her side for as long as she could remember and all she wanted was him to stop his daredevil antics and let her work in peace. But strangely, her attention slowly began to drift to how hard he worked to be a stuntman. He purposefully risked his life everyday to do stunts that were bigger and more dangerous than the last and in some way, that determination was sort of attractive to her.
But at the present moment, she was ready to rip his head off.
Kick thought it would be ‘cool’ to add double the amount of chemicals to their experiment which caused the entire class to be filled with foam. Since Kendall had been his science partner, she was automatically blamed as well since she should’ve been monitoring him. The two students sat outside the principal’s office waiting to receive their punishment.
“Y’know Clarence, if you hadn’t decided that foaming up the whole science class would be cool, we wouldn’t be in this mess!”
“Well you were hogging the instruction sheet so I couldn’t see the correct amount I needed! If you just let me see the page, the class wouldn’t have foamed up!”
At that moment, the principal’s door opened and Kendall groaned as they walked inside. The principal ushered them to their seats and looked at them.
“Kendall Perkins, you are one of the star students in your grade. Clarence Buttowski, although you seem to go through moments of school spirit to doing your own thing, you add the oomf! of school pride the school needs. I’ve noticed that this isn’t the first time that the two of you clash with each other which is why, as punishment; I’ve signed you both up for the end of term dance committee.”
In unison, Kick and Kendall screamed, “What?”
“You’ll work together and see that you two are capable of pulling off planning a dance together and making it a success,” the principal continued, ignoring their reactions.
“But…but...I usually plan the dance! I can’t have Kick ruining everything!” Kendall yelled and Kick glared at her.
“Those dances lame anyway! The decorations are the same ones from last year and your music choice puts me to sleep!” Kick said angrily and Kendall felt her blood boil.
“Do you have any idea how expensive it is to get brand new decorations, Clarence? And music choices are excellent for dances!”
“If you think the waltz being played on loop is excellent then you really need to listen to more genres! And decorations-”
“-And this is why, I’ve decided that you two do this together,” the principal said and Kick and Kendall collapsed into silence.
“Kendall, you’ll still be in charge of the dance since you’ve got experience but I must admit, having someone who has observed the last few dances organized by you will be good criticism and will definitely make this dance better than the last! Now, you two will discuss the theme for the dance this afternoon and give feedback tomorrow to the rest of the dance committee.”
Kendall sighed and nodded and saw Kick nod as well.
“Great! Don’t let the school down, I’m sure you’ll work together wonderfully!”
*********************************************************
Kendall had been counting down the hours till school ended so that she could get the planning with Kick done as soon as possible.
I can’t believe this is my punishment! Ugh, how is he supposed to help anyway? She thought.
She entered the school hall and hopped onto the stage and took a seat, her legs dangling over the edge. She took out her notebook and pen and began jotting down ideas for the theme.
Under the sea Tropical Island Enchanted night Candyland Hollywood
She looked at them and at that moment Kick walked into the hall and took a seat next to her.
“You’re five minutes late,” Kendall said, the annoyed tone evident in her voice. Kick rolled his eyes and huffed.
“Sorry. I had to dodge Wacky- I mean Jackie.”
“That crazy girl who’s obsessed with you?”
Kick stared at Kendall and he burst out laughing.
“I’m surprised you noticed.”
“Well, it’s pretty obvious. She always asks you questions when you have to do a presentation and she’s always talking about you. It’s really not that difficult to see.”
Kick nodded and he saw the list of possible themes.
“Under the sea? Nope!”
“Why not? It’s a classic.”
“It’s been done a hundred times and seafood is expensive if you want to serve seafood as food. Same reasons for Tropical Island and Enchanted night. Kendall, these themes are all over done. We need something new and radical to make everyone excited for the dance.”
And thus began the brainstorming and bickering. Every possible theme the two of them came up with, the other shot it down.
“Disco?” asked Kick.
“No, I do not need people turning up in bell-bottomed jeans, wigs and legwarmers. It needs to be more formal, Clarence, unlike your usual tastes.” Kendall said rolling her eyes.
Kick growled angrily but Kendall didn’t care.
“Oh! What about suit and tie?” Kendall squealed excitedly.
“That’s the worst theme yet,” Kick said with a deadpanned expression.
An hour and a half later, Kendall was ready to scream.
“This is pointless! What is the point of putting us to work together if we can’t even think of a good enough theme!” Kendall yelled in frustration and Kick put his head on the floor.
“Well, it’s not my fault all your themes are old and overdone!”
“At least my ideas aren’t ridiculous!”
“At least people would actually have fun!”
“My dances are fun!”
“Yeah, right! Tell that to the janitor who fell asleep at your last one!” Kendall glared at the daredevil and stood up.
“If only we could agree on a stupid theme-“ Kendall froze and looked at Kick.
“Kick…remember the dance presentation we had to do?”
Kick lifted up his head and gave her a rare smile.
“How could I forget? We were awesome! With your ballet and my wrestling we were unstoppable! The way we mixed our two styles-“
Kendall grinned when she saw the light bulb in his head click on.
“We need to mix our styles again,” he murmured and sat up straight and picked up her discarded notebook. He read over then crossed out list again and hummed in thought.
“Okay, what if we take Hollywood?” Kick asked and Kendall looked at him in surprise.
“But I thought you said that was overdone?”
“It is but what if we made it more…Lights, Camera…Action! That way we can include directors, makeup artists and-“
“-Stuntmen?” Kendall offered and the two grinned at each other.
“We could get some of the yearbook committee members to dress as paparazzi and have a red carpet for photos!”
“And we could get a backdrop of the Oscars for the food table and we could have simple snacks but all movie themed!”
“And…maybe a DJ for music?” Kendall murmured and looked up at him and she saw Kick’s infamous grin.
“I think we’ve got ourselves a theme, Kendall Perkins.”
****************************************************
Kick and Kendall stood before the dance committee members in the hall the next day to present the theme. Kick could see that Kendall was confident with her presentation of the theme but he could tell she was nervous by her shaky hands.
Guess she wants the committee to be excited about this too, he thought.
“-And that is this year’s theme! So any questions?” Kendall asked the crowd of committee members before her and she was greeted with enthusiastic whispers.
Kendall felt a huge weight off her shoulders and grinned. It was a first for everyone to be so excited for a dance theme and she couldn’t have asked for more. The planning with Kick took an extra hour the day before after they both finally agreed on ‘Lights, Camera…ACTION!’ as their theme, but it had all be worth it.
“Okay, looks like we’re all in agreement! Let’s split up into groups! Group 1 will focus on decorations, Group 2 on food and Group 3 on music!” Kendall instructed.
She watched in amazement at everyone excitedly whispering and getting into their groups. She felt her heart swell with happiness.
“Wow, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you this happy before,” Kick chuckled and she rolled her eyes but there was still a smile on her lips.
“I don’t think I’ve ever been the excited for planning a dance before! Now, let’s go help out!”
She grabbed Kick by his arm and walked to Group 3.
**************************************************************************
The Groups had been a bit of a problem at first when someone disagreed on the DJ and wanted a live band instead but that argument was quickly shut down by Kick when he said that a DJ could play everyone’s favourite songs.
There was a scuffle over balloons and glitter but that had been resolved by Kendall. After all the problems had been solved Kendall and Kick looked over the budget and after a few calculations, they still had enough money to get something extra for the dance.
“Photo booth?” Kick asked and Kendall hummed in thought.
“But don’t we have the backdrop and homecoming committee already taking photos?”
“Well yeah, but this is more for the people there. Like these photos people can take home and make funny faces in their photo with their friends.”
Kendall nodded slowly and smiled.
“Photo booth it is!”
Now, everyone was painting the big ‘Hollywood’ sign that would be used in the backdrop for the pictures. Kendall stretched her aching arms and looked at her watch. Two hours had passed and she felt that keeping the committee there any longer would be unfair. “Okay everyone! That’s enough for today! Thank you and I’ll see you all same time tomorrow!” she yelled and soon all the students were gone except her and Kick.
“Wow…that was more fun than I expected,” Kick admitted as he put down a large brush that he’d been using and grinned at the Hollywood sign.
“See, planning a dance is fun and we’re working together!” Kendall said and playfully hit his helmet.
He shook his head and gave her a gentle shove and they laughed. It was moments like this that reminded Kendall why she liked Kick. When he was passionate about something he put in his all. It reminded her how he could be reasonable and a hard-worker.
The two walked out of the hall, discussing lighting and switched off the lights, enveloping the hall in darkness.
******************************************************
The next two weeks few by and there was only four more days till the dance. The committee had worked tirelessly and everything was coming together.
The decorations were finished and the food had been ordered. Kendall was sitting in her usual spot on the stage after school and had just gotten off the phone with the caterers. She had ordered platters of mini pies, sticky wings and meatballs and a separate platter of vegetables and vegan food as well as a dessert platter with donuts, mini cupcakes, mini apple pies, mini cheese cakes and chocolate éclairs. Kendall had ordered extra just in case but she was sure that there was going to more than enough for everyone.
“Hey, everything okay?”
Kick’s voice became more comforting than casual after spending so much time together and honestly Kendall wanted to get used to it but she knew that once the dance was over, everything would go back to normal.
“Hey Kick, yeah, everything is great! Why do you ask?”
“You look stressed all the time,” he snorted and she huffed.
“I enjoy planning the dance but it does stress me sometimes. Anything could go wrong and I would be blamed.”
Kick burst out laughing.
“Seriously? You, Kendall Perkins, are stressed over a dance that will obviously be the best dance this school has ever seen?”
Kendall blushed at the praise.
“Kick, I wouldn’t give myself that much credit. It’s a team effort-“
“-Yeah, a team effort that wouldn’t have worked without your guidance.”
Kendall didn’t know what to say. Kick had never complimented her like that before.
“Thanks Claren- I mean…Kick…you aren’t too bad yourself,” she grinned and he sat down next to her and looked at her food list.
“Ohhhh, you ordered all this? I am going to be so happy on the night of the dance,” he said imagining the buffet table.
“Remember to leave food for everyone else, Clarence!” she laughed and realized that she called him Clarence in a more joking way instead of when she would use it to make him angry.
“So, you and Ronaldo going together right? Are you going as a celebrity couple or something?” Kick asked.
Kendall shrugged her shoulders and readjusted her hair band to prevent herself from looking into his eyes.
“We…we broke up a few weeks ago. I broke up with him because I just didn’t feel romantic feelings for him anymore,” Kendall said and looked a Kick.
“So, who are you going with? Gunter I presume?”
“Nah, he has a date and even though we usually go as friends, I’m happy for him.”
“So, you’re not going with anyone? Wow, the great Kick Buttowski doesn’t have a date!”
“Hey, you aren’t going with anyone either!”
“Yeah, but before I started dating Ronaldo, I never had a date. I’m used to just organizing and watching everyone else have fun.”
Kendall didn’t realize how pathetic that sounded and she was just about to make up an excuse when Kick spoke.
“So, why don’t we go together?”
Kendall’s jaw dropped and she stared at him.
“Me? With you?”
“Oh, c’mon Kendall. I thought it would be fun since we worked on this together! Plus, we’d look great on the dance floor,” he grinned and Kendall had flashbacks to when they were dance partners.
“Oh...Okay! Sure but I do have requests!”
“I’m regretting asking you now…” Kick groaned and Kendall laughed.
“No, I want your opinion! Which dress should I wear?” she asked as she took out her phone.
Kendall showed him two pictures on her phone. One was an ankle-length baby blue satin dress with a criss-cross back and the other was a gold sequined strapless dress that just hit her knee.
Kick looked at the two dresses very carefully before giving her phone back.
“Well, you look good in both...but I think the the baby blue one. That looks more Hollywood and elegant and more…you,” Kick said with a small smile and Kendall felt her stomach jump in happiness.
“You’re not just saying that because blue is your favourite colour?” Kendall teased.
“Well…I do like blue…but anyway what was your other requests? Let me guess, a corsage, meet your parents at your house and you want a slow dance?”
Kendall froze.
“N-No No! Well, those suggestions are sweet but I just wanted you to promise me you’d help clean up afterwards!” Kendall stuttered and she was sure that Kick turned red.
“Oh...I thought cleaning was already part of the job…” Kick mumbled and he stood up.
“Well, I’ll pick you up at seven, that okay?”
“Yeah, that’s okay…” Kendall said and watched Kick hop off the stage and begin to walk out of the hall.
“Hey Kick! I’m still expecting a corsage!” she yelled trying hard not to laugh.
She saw his posture go ridged and he ran out of the hall.
***********************************************************************
“Hollywood sign, check!”
“Balloons, check!”
“Decorations all in place? Check!”
Kendall ticked off her to-do list and looked at the school hall that had been turned into a gorgeous venue for their end of term dance. The soft gold chiffon fabric draped elegantly at the entrance and the buffet table was soon to be filled with the food. The backdrop for the photos was in place and the photo booth was being set up. The lights were made to look like cameras and the DJ was setting up. The gold and silver balloons adorned the sides of the ‘Hollywood’ sign and Kendall grinned at her list that had successfully been completed.
“Whew! All done!” she said happily and stretched.
She checked her watch and saw that she still had three hours to get ready for the dance. The yearbook team was going to be taking pictures of the decorations while she was gone so she didn’t need to worry about leaving everything alone. Kendall picked up her bags and started to walk out the hall when she heard a loud bang.
“What the-“ Kendall said spinning around on her heel and she gasped.
“Jackie…what are you doing!” Kendall screeched.
The red head smiled cruelly and popped another silver balloon, the pieces of latex falling to the ground.
“Kendall, Kendall, Kendall…why would you try to steal Kick away from me?”
“Wh-what?” Kendall whispered.
“I know that you like Kick, Kendall. It’s really not that hard to see. But I had faith that you’d never make a move since you refused to acknowledge your feelings and you still see him as a nuisance but I was wrong.”
As Jackie said this, she popped a gold balloon.
“When you were assigned to work together for the dance, I knew your personalities would clash and I hoped that the dance would be a disaster but you worked together perfectly!”
Jackie was shaking with rage.
“Watching you two grow closer and closer with every passing day was maddening and I knew that after the dance you would definitely start hanging out with Kick more and eventually you’d have enough courage to confess your feelings for him. Kick was supposed to be my date to the dance! And you took that from me!”
Kendall felt knots in her stomach. There were five balloons on either side of the buffet table and with Jackie popping them, there would be no balance and all their hard work would’ve been for nothing.
“Stop! Those are for the dance!” Kendall yelled and ran towards her but stopped when Jackie popped the last two balloons on the left side.
“No, Kendall. You don’t want me to pop the other balloons either, now do you?”
Kendall growled,“what do you want?”
Jackie smiled and rolled the pin in her hand.
“I want you to phone Kick right now and tell him that you are not going to the dance tonight. Tell him that you never should’ve agreed and that you hate him. And mean it,” Jackie smirked and stood next to the Hollywood sign.
Kendall’s jaw dropped. “There’s no way I’m saying that!” “Do you want this sign to be pushed over?” Jackie giggled and placed a hand on it.
“No…you, you can’t do that! The dance committee spent hours painting that!”
“Then. Make. The. Call.” Jackie hissed and Kendall shakily took out her phone and dialed Kick’s number.
“Hey Kendall! What’s up?”
Kendall looked at Jackie in anger and Jackie nodded, urging her to talk.
“Kick, I can’t go to the dance with you.”
There was a moment of silence. “Wait what? Kendall, you’re not making sense. Why do you suddenly not want to go?” Kick asked in confusion.
Kendall bit back her tears and clenched her fist.
“Because I hate you Clarence. I always have and always will and putting together this dance with you was a waste of my time. Don’t bother calling me again.”
Without waiting for him to answer, Kendall hung up and glared at Jackie.
“Are you happy now?” Kendall screamed and Jackie nodded. “That was easier than I thought. I never thought threatening you with destroying some little decorations would be so easy.”
“It’s not the decorations!” Kendall snapped, “It’s the fact that I have a reputation to uphold and I’d rather give up the dance than let everyone else down!”
Jackie laughed and rolled her eyes. “Wow, you are really stupid. You’d put other people before you? Wow Kendall, that’s really sweet.”
“Yeah, Kendall really is sweet,” came a familiar voice that made Kendall’s heart beat faster.
She turned her body to the door and sighed in relief whereas Jackie was red with anger.
“Jackie, I don’t know what you’re doing but I have a feeling that it’s nothing good,” Kick said with his arms crossed. Standing next to him was the principle, who looked furious.
“Jackie! What is the meaning of this?” she demanded when she saw the popped balloons and the pin in Jackie’s hand.
Jackie growled and anger and ran towards Kendall. Kick ran from the principle and knocked Kendall to the floor before Jackie could attack her. Kick came face to face with Jackie and grabbed her arms and tried to fight her off.
“What is your problem!” Kick yelled.
“You were never supposed to ask her to the dance. You were supposed to ask me!” Jackie screeched. Suddenly two other teachers ran in and grabbed Jackie.
“Hey! Let me go! I’m supposed to go with Kick! Not Kendall!” The teachers began to drag her out of the hall but before they did, Jackie broke loose of their grip and ran to the Hollywood sign. With one push, the sign fell to the ground and Kendall screamed.
Jackie was grabbed again by the teachers and taken away whereas Kendall put her head in her hands and felt tears in her eyes.
“Kick, Jackie will no longer be allowed to attend the dance this evening and I’m going to give her parents a call. We’ll suspend her for a while but you don’t need to worry about her for tonight. Now…go check on Kendall…I think she needs the support. We’ll see if there’s any extra balloons or white paint for the sign.”
The principle walked away and Kick walked over to the crying girl.
“Hey, don’t cry. We can fix this.”
Kendall sniffed, “We don’t have anymore paint or balloons, Kick. They were all used up. I know that for a fact.”
She stood up and walked over to the Hollywood sign and tried to get it off the floor and with some help from Kick, they pushed it back up.
“Ugh! It’s ruined! The paint has cracked and it’s so noticeable!”
Kick took a good look at the sign before smiling.
“Actually…I have an idea.”
“Wait…how did you know that Jackie was here with me? And why was the principal with you?”
“I was actually walking with her to show off the decorations in the hall. I was on my way to see you because I knew you’d be there. Even though you said that you hated me I knew there was something wrong because you‘d never just say that without a reason. Plus, we had been getting along so well…it just didn’t add up.”
Kendall nodded and Kick looked at her with a smile.
“Now, let’s fix this.”
*******************************************************
Three hours later, Kendall was at the dance, her face hurting from smiling so much. She had never seen such a huge turn up before and the dance floor was bursting with people. She gazed at the Hollywood sign that had been coated in a layer of silver glitter paint and watched as some students took pictures with it. The cracks had been easily hidden by the paint and made the sign ten times better. The balloons at the buffet table were now a centerpiece and it honestly looked better than before. Everyone looked like they were having a good time and Kendall was relieved. When Kick had mentioned the left over glitter paint from one of the school plays, it was their only hope and it worked. The sign glowed in the multicoloured lights and it was the main attraction.
“Mini pies and cupcakes?” Kick offered on a paper plate and Kendall snapped out of her thoughts. She turned to him and gave him a smile and took the plate.
“Dang Kick, you were right. This is the best dance ever!”
“I told you that you could pull it off!” he grinned.
“Not without you!” she said and playfully punched him in the shoulder.
“Well, you ordered the food!”
“You made the theme work!”
“You stopped Jackie from ruining the dance!”
“You-“
“Stop!” Gunter screamed and the two jumped in surprise. “Just dance already! I’m so tired of seeing you two argue over everything!”
To her surprise, Kick laughed. “Gunter, it just this inside joke Kendall and I have. We just like one-uping each other all the time.”
Kendall blushed and Gunter smirked at her reaction.
“Well, trying on-uping each other on the dance floor then! I need to get back to my date!”
Gunter left them alone and Kick and Kendall smiled at each other. Kick held out his hand and Kendall took it.
“May I have this dance, Miss Perkins?” he asked with a wink.
“Only if you can keep up, Clarence,” Kendall said going red.
The two walked to the dance floor as the DJ began to play an upbeat pop song.
************************************************
Kendall’s heart was beating so fast she thought it was going to burst.
Dancing with Kick had been…exhilarating and reminded her of the first time they had danced together. People had actually stopped dancing to watch them and eventually, the whole crowd was cheering them on. When they had finished, the crowd cheered and even a few teachers congratulated them.
Suddenly she felt warm…too warm and exited the hall needing cool fresh air. Kendall embraced the gentle breeze once she was outside and took a seat on one of the bleachers. It was quiet and the sounds of crickets were heard. She sighed happily and looked at the stars.
“Could this night be any more perfect?” she murmured as she marveled at the night sky.
“Well, if you’d go back inside it would be, since the whole dance was a success,” came a voice that sent shivers down her spine.
“Kick!” Kendall exclaimed and she turned around to face him.
He was holding two cups of soda and gave her one.
“I saw you leave and I got worried. Thought I might’ve spun you around too much,” he chuckled and Kendall drank her soda thirstily.
“Thanks I definitely needed that,” the blonde nodded in relief as she felt her body temperature cool down.
Kick sat down with her in silence and they looked at the stars.
“Kick…thank you,” Kendall said softly and the daredevil looked at her in surprise.
“For what?”
“This is hands down the best dance I’ve ever had part of putting together. Without your encouragement, I don’t think it would’ve been this amazing. I…I know I’m not an easy person to work with. I lose my temper easily sometimes and I’m known to be bossy…but, but thank you for putting up with me. The dance is usually stressful but you managed to calm me down and take some of the load off. Heck, you saved the decorations last minute and stopped Jackie! I really can’t thank you enough.”
Kick’s jaw dropped.
“Gee…um…thanks Kendall…that means a lot coming from you.”
“It does? What happened to ‘I’m a daredevil and I don’t care about other opinions of me’ attitude?” Kendall asked and she saw a spark in his eyes as he smiled.
“You really aren’t the easiest person to work with but heck, you get things done to the best of your abilities. You’re a good role model, Kendall Perkins and I’m glad I got to work with you.”
Kendall was blushing furiously and she knew Kick could see it since they were sitting under a light.
“I really don’t know what to say…” Kendall giggled. “We’re just going to keep complimenting each other. There has to be a breaking point.”
Kick turned to face her and placed a hand on hers and she felt her heart stop.
“There is a breaking point but I’m sorta…scared to cross it…” he said looking directly at her in her eyes and Kendall’s heart began to beat a little faster.
“We…could cross it together?” Kendall asked and gave him a small smile.
“Deal,” he grinned.
They leaned in and shared their first kiss and Kendall Perkins knew that she would never forget the best dance ever.
