don't be afraid of drugs, if they're the right drugs, you should do them since they will be a blast regardless and overcoming fear is also good (but outside the scope here)

OK to do as much as you want: alcohol - social benefit greatly outweighs health effects, no reason to avoid if predisposed to abuse since that'll happen sooner or later. what can i say? don't be a fucking dork. when you start drinking, really overdo it as much as possible without dying and get a few real nasty hangovers under your belt so you know how much is the right amount to drink.

weed - innocuous enough to be fine but will make you stupid in the long term. make sure to only buy from a real drug dealer and never some legal institution. cut it out when you're a "real adult". don't smoke weed and watch TV routinely, go out and do things so you naturally grow to hate it. good to go through this as early as possible to minimize the time you spend as a cringe weed enthusiast

i guess those are the only two.

ok to do infrequently (annually): "lsd" - or whatever it is, probably not lsd, blah blah blah, if it works and is sold on blotter its fine and won't make you go nuts or whatever. opt for a better psychadelic imo. see psych rule at bottom of section

mushrooms - better than acid since you know what they are. rule of thumb is to always do more than you think you want. minimum 1/8oz. see psych rule at bottom of post

dmt - if you somehow have a dmt hookup you don't need to be reading any of this. lasts 10 minutes which leads to tendency to way overdo it, don't do this, my favorite webcomic artist is permanently crazy from exactly that. using a crack pipe is also not the uhhhh most dignifying-feeling thing to do either. it's harder than you think.

mdma - for use at electronic music event or rave. overuse causes brain lesions or something.

coke - wait until you're in your 20s, have maxed out your roth IRA for a couple of years in a row, and havent missed a car payment in a similar timeframe. better still if you've worked a very shitty low paying job and know the value of a dollar. if you still find yourself buying candy you're not ready. too expensive to be worth it to get hooked on. know that you are VERY ANNOYING to anyone who also isn't high. don't fuck around with the guy selling it to you. avoid discussing or thinking about business ideas. you can't afford to make it a habit + kinda turns you into a piece of shit after a while, but at least a very interesting one

ketamine - another sick drug that rules, but save it for a special occasion. don't try and go into the k-hole your first time

rule for psychedelics - you get one good strong trip a year and that's it, make it count, always opt for doing a bit more than a bit less. but don't make it a habit, otherwise you turn into a very stupid very annoying "hippy" style cliché and believe in ghosts, aliens, crap like that.

ok to try once prescription opiates/benzodiazepine (xanax), valium, this kind of shit - worth trying so you can go "holy shit, this stuff is way way way too good to ever use responsibly" and then never do again. especially if you're white. for some reason we just can't handle this shit. if a doctor prescribes it to you, idk, that's your call to make.

ayhuasca - this is just dmt in a different form. do some other psychadelics a number of times before you do this. once you realize the whole "substantial visual hallucinations" thing is made up, its time. do exactly this: -buy root online (legal). receive box of dirt -boil dirt into "tea" (read erowid for exact recipe) -take over-the-counter anti nausea medicine or anything that will give you a stronger stomach -drink tea (its nasty as fuck, get it down quick) -have someone bigger than you keep an eye on you for the next five hours. -have the experience, which is absurdly intense, has no bearing to the real world, etc etc. don't be a bitch and throw up, if you do it'll only last an hour or so. again there is no way to provide a consistent description of the experience except that you will meet god. you only ever need to do this once and never again. trust me

peyote/salvia/etc - try em if you want, you'll never ever want to again afterwords. these are drugs for idiot teenagers too lame to get real drugs. imagine being very very sick from poison and utterly terrified at the same time. No good

whippets/nitrous oxide - just find a dentist that uses it and don't bother creating hundreds of pounds of trash on your floor for this crap that lasts ten seconds. you have to understand the extremely short timeframe coupled with the cost makes zero sense. go to a phish concert parking lot and do some people watching -- you do not want to be these people. only use is as a motivator to get routine dental exam. also if you somehow manage to make it a heavy habit your fucking legs stop working, no shit, but they start working again once you quit.

don't ever do heroin/meth/pcp - is is truly a mystery why you should never do these 🙄

synthetic weed/k2/shit from the gas station - it is so funny that they sell this as "weed that won't pop you on a drug test". its not weed. it is some dubious chemical sprayed on yard waste. smoke it to have a terrible time and go nuts. only buy drugs from legitimate drug dealers!

kratom - anyone's guess as to why this is legal but it's heroin for pussies. its still heroin

dxm/cough syrup - do you ever wonder why it is exclusively teenagers robotripping? it's because it sucks ass. is like a cheesegrater on your brain in terms of health effects with repeated usage. you're better than this king

inhalants - these are at the bottom of the list for a reason. do not huff gas. don't huff paint. do not consume computer duster. not fun + fastest way to make yourself a complete, uh, (word i can't say anymore) and then dead

May I ask on how you choose your colors when you color your art pieces? It is so pretty to look at the colors of your art, and I want to color like that, but color picking is very hard q-q

here's!! uh, the general areas in the color wheel where i try to pick depending on the vibe

highly inaccurate because tbh i just color pick directly or try to guess the colors from my references and just adjust them to be a little bit more pastel or to the atmosphere and if i have their colors memorized (such as ink or dream), i just pick by memory or by my modified colors LOL

color your scrunkly!

set your line work to multiply and lock opacity

i use warm tones for white ish colors so uhhh idk whatever warm color from here

color the line work!!!!! ofc, shift the hue depending on the undertones of the surrounding colors the skull color is a warm off-white, the undershirt is a blue-ish off-white, scarf is warm brown, so on and so on the multiply function rly helps just blend things into the palette a little more, but if ur confident enough, you dont have to set it to multiply at all for extra variation

minimal shading by just taking the surrounding colors n adjusting the hue slightly n its value n saturation gives it a very messy cel shaded look! been into it lately and stuff

and then i add a few overlays using the pin light layer mode! i usually use these two colors together, it gives the right amount of pastel colors that really appeals to me

if you have access to gradient maps, i recommend using them lots! it makes the pieces look a little more cohesive the pin light layer mode imitates it n is very versatile if u cant use them though (like me when im just doodling on sai)

that's it!!! that's the basic rundown of how i color i'm not very well versed in color theory so i can only do very basic color picking tips, but maybe next time i can offer ways on how to color more atmospherically!

A random analysis but I have to give it to NHIE for always keeping the dreams vs reality themes of the show and how Devi never viewed Ben as a romanticized ideal.

All of Devi’s “love interests” were introduced to her by a “slow motion” entrance. Paxton, Des and Ethan. To symbolize a very superficial, rather romanticized view. Ben’s introduction on the pilot by contrast is framed by him looking back at her with the announcement “and this is Devi’s nemesis”, painting him as an equal and also as someone that integral to Devi’s life.

And I kinda like that during their moment at the finale, there's a slow motion happening but it's not for Ben or Devi, its for their moment.

On 201, right off the bat, McEnroe’s narration feels like it’s tainted in sarcasm. “Devi lay in her bed pondering these two grand romantic gestures. Ben had broken the law, stolen his Dad's car, and risked his life to help her say goodbye to her dad, but Paxton had left her a voicemail.” because for Devi, just the idea that the popular hot guy left her a voicemail is epic. Season 2 has a theme of Devi romanticizing a lot of Paxton’s minimal actions, including the status of their relationship because then later Devi found out that she romanticized all of their interactions to the point she didn't even notice he didn't call her his girlfriend once.

210 is called “…been a perfect girl” and I think we know by now that Devi’s idea of “perfection” was about external views. In this finale, she ends up with Paxton in what feels like a perfect picture (that later was referenced as a dream that she outgrew with Dr. Ryan) and the catch is that the first thing Devi says is “So, I guess I am Paxton’s Hall Yoshida’s girlfriend now”. Not just Paxton, but his full name, because it’s his full name the one that brings out the status of his entire persona, just like when she wrote his full name on her grief journal on the pilot.

Yes, Devi referring to Paxton majority of Season 1 and Season 2 by his full name matters a lot.

And funny enough, Paxton and Devi never get to actually dance a romantic song during winter prom. And it gets brough up by Devi yelling "are you serious? now you play a fast song?" so “their song” ends up being Ben’s song. Say Something by Kylie Minogue was playing during their dance and narrating Ben’s internal struggles about Devi. Not highlighting anything significant about Devi and Paxton's new status.

(and after "She wanted to chose you. It's not always been him" scene I don't know how there was any doubt it was always going to be Ben.)

With Devi and Paxton’s “couple entrance” on 301 the narration says “this is what fairy tales are made of” with Dreams of You playing.

A lot of the problem with Devi's relationship with Paxton was not only her insecurities but the fact she never was able to see him for him. Not in the ways she always saw Ben. And for someone that still wanted validation from the crowd it was hard to let go of that idea, which is why she needed to date Paxton first.

Catch this, for 304, the song playing when Des and Devi are in the car says "looking for the next thing, looking for that next dream."

On 310, Devi doesn’t have stomach knots with Paxton because she finally got over that idea. She dated him, she knew was it feels like. There won’t be “what if…” in her future. She learned to value herself, she gathered experiences and so those rose colored ideas of him went away.

209/409 being parallels of each other was great too because for 209 we have Paxton smoothly climbing Devi’s window to make out. It is supposed to be sexy and forbidden. Similar to Devi's dream on 102. In contrast, 409 does the same thing with Ben and even jokes about it. Ben’s entrance is way less smooth, he is panting and even asks Devi if Paxton used to do that all the time because it's treacherous. Devi responds very nonchalantly with “it always seemed pretty easy for him”. And there's a reason that interaction was written. It’s almost as if to show her illusion of Paxton has completely washed off. She not longer views it as a grand thing he did and instead we have Ben being a very real person. And I love how instead of making out under some blurred lines, it’s just Ben going to her so he can comfort her and they ended up having a very real conversation that ends with them falling sleep.

The show illustrates these themes with the soundtrack as well. Devi and Paxton’s songs usually have a very sexy vibe and cover themes around dreams, illusions and failing relationships. Example: Playing Games, Heat Waves, Dreams Of You, Love Goes, Fire For You. While Ben and Devi's songs are usually about a love that won't go away and the one you have been waiting for. Example: Boys Like You, Take Off, Eres Tu, Running, My Rose, Fade Into You. @rainparadefromhell has a post talking about the meaning of the soundtrack in lenght (here).

Season 3 does a great job illustrating by the end that Devi has finally come to terms with Paxton as a dream she held onto as a distraction from her grief. Season 3 finale had Dr. Ryan tell Devi: “When you lock yourself into a dream of what your life should be, you limit yourself.” And process to tell Devi she’s been locked up into a very particular dream since the show started: dating the hottest and most popular guy at school (Paxton), wanting to be miss popular and go to Princeton and that she probably has outgrown some of those dreams. It goes to tell Devi (and the audience) she’s not the same girl from freshman/sophomore year.

Devi accepts her words because she knows it’s true. That dream was only the means for Devi to feel the acceptance and normalcy she craved after a traumatic event. And once she is able to recognize that for herself and to Paxton, it all suddenly makes sense. Ben is the one she has always wanted. Ben with his flaws and sense of groundedness. She wanted him ever since Malibu and that's never going to change. So, later the narration goes “…her dream had evolved…but there was maybe a part of the old dream that still interested her, and per Dr. Ryan, she was about to surprise herself.” And she goes to Ben. He represents both her old and new dreams because he is a constant.

At the end of the day, when it comes to Devi making choices closer to her own wants and needs, she always goes to Ben. Once Devi understood what those old dreams meant for herself. It was game over. By chosing to sleep with Ben, she made her choice. On Season 4, Paxton was not a choice. She wasn't confused about her feelings. Ethan was not a choice either. It was always Ben. There was no one for Devi but Ben. And no one for Ben but Devi. The triangle ended the moment Devi came off from those rose colored lenses on Season 3 and when she is able to form a friendship with Paxton and finally see him as an equal. She doesn’t want him back because she’s never been in love with him. She's in love with Ben.

I love urban lots, especially where more activities/sims can intermingle, so I put together this apartment lot that features shopping!

There’s a clothing store, a convenience store with groceries, and a gaming/electronics shop (which is a front for a backroom dance club).

It has four functional apartments, 3 of which take up each of the 3 buildings’ 2nd floor space. There’s nothing on the 3rd floor of each building, because it’s already laggy as is so I removed the apartments I originally put in there. The 4th apartment is on the top floor of the center building, so it’s kinda like the fancy penthouse except not really because it’s just as grungy as all the others lol.

All four apartments are already furnished, but minimally & cheaply (though due to size, I think, they average to like $1,000+ rent lol).

NPC Note: Because this is an apartment lot with shopping, it relies on MogHughson’s Apartment & Shopping on the Same Lot mod to work.

You can still play it as a normal apartment right away with no changes even if you don’t have/want the mod, there just won’t be any NPCs that spawn for the community lot objects.

Also even with the mod, the DJ NPC will never spawn. I guess that object didn’t get included in the mod, so you’ll just have to make your own sims/townies be the DJ :P

I tried not to go crazy with NPC-spawning objects to reduce lag issues, but the following NPCs will spawn on the lot with MogHughson’s mod installed:

• 3 Cashiers

• 1 Bartender

Like I said there is lag, but I found it manageable when I playtested - And I’m very picky about playing lots that cause lag. YMMV though, especially if you use/add CC while playing it.

The package file (which contains ONLY the CC-free lot) is 45MB!! That’s literally double The Deadite Den’s size, which is a lot I posted with CC. So there’s an idea of what you’re working with.

I'm not the same anon but I'll just share one comment i found on a GhostSoap thread on twitter "It is most likely that Activision intended for Ghost to be straight even if we don't know his sexuality or he never had romantic interaction with a woman" yada yada, this is a complete bull btw, to this person I'd just replied,if they wanna see Ghost as a het then by all means go for it, but don't put your own projection and personal opinion into a fact of Activision. Their reason being more so how they should all have minimal respect for GhostSoap shippers whereas in reality those very same shippers are the main reason why the fandom is so big and thriving to this very day. But i guess not, to some.

Activision themselves even made an article on valentine's day to celebrate "Babygirlification of Ghost" and they also proceeded to list a few personals about him! Here's the thread

What i found hilarious is when naturally some took "a straight shooter 🔍" to mean that he's straight or that they made a pun for it to mean so 😂😂 I can't -- anyhow you do not have to answer this directly seeing as it's easier for you but I'd love to know your thoughts regardless, especially on this one!! :)

Hmm I read the article and I do have to say that this was all meant in a joking sort of manner. To be quite fair, it really doesn't tell us much of anything more than we already know. And imo, it wasn't actually that well written either.

As I have said earlier, there truly isn't anything definitive we can look at in terms of sexualities. Unless otherwise stated by the characters/Activision/in game everything is open to interpretation.

The term "straight shooter" could be taken in so many ways that it doesn't hold much value. This was quite obviously meant as a play on Ghost being snarky as hell (the comedic straight man so to speak) [edit: a very honest/straightforward guy] and that he's the best sniper the 141 have. To take it as him being straight is a stretch, but I suppose you can read whatever you want into blanket statements like those. Lol.

Ghost is lit like one of those horoscopes. You can read whatever you want into him and still come out believing your assumptions are the (1) true canon because he's written in such general and vague strokes that everything sort of applies.

TEEHEEEE HI MANTIS !!!!!! YOU'RE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT !!!! I should talk about Mary. Here I go !!

- Mary is a funny woman. She's unremarkable by many people– just another person trying to get by in the crazy wastelands without getting shot at a million times, making a living by selling whatever produce doesn't die in the harsh climate– yet she's very valued by the people of her community. Mary has always been kind despite there being little place for that in a planet like Pandora, and it's because of that kindness that she slipped out of many life threatening situations before. Some people would argue that it's just a front she puts on so she has some chance of survival, but she'd say that it's more so just cause and effect: The nicer you are to people, the less likely they are to impale you and display your body gruesomely. Besides, most appreciate a break from the near constant mayhem.

- When she was a youngster, this was the exact same reason why she wanted to leave her clan and study medicine. Which she couldn't technically do, due to there being No Real Schools in Pandora and much less Actual Doctors, but when you're bleeding out and far away from the nearest safe-spot, there's no complaining to be done when someone comes patch you up. She was basically a field medic, except she didn't really know what she was doing and had to guess a lot of the time, but hey, it's not like *too* many people died ! She did give up eventually due to how depressing the entire thing was, but not before a certain someone happened to find her with a group of injured men who needed taking care of. And wouldn't you know, that someone was Lucifer Lucio Caede and his devils. That oughta end pretty good for them !

- Mary's clan, The Farmhouse, disbanded a few years after she left. It just wasn't the same without her around, and even though they still loved the brutality... there was nothing to offset it, no one to dispute it, nobody to lead or to at least give *some* direction of what to do when the oven sets itself on fire after you try to bake something. It was a real mess, not the fun kind, but they were all fine afterwards I'm sure, minimal casualties. She played a major role but her time of leading bandits and organizing big crimes against the intergalactic rules were over. Better things to do, don't you know !

- Can't actually shoot for the life of her, which would usually mean a death sentence, but really means that she has experience finding Other Ways to kill people should the necessity to do so rise. Most of her repertoire with weapons includes blunt force, like hitting someone with a big bat until they stop moving, or outside forces, like running someone over with a car until they stop moving. It's only ever in self defense though, because Mary ABHORRES blood. It used to make her nauseous as a teen and even as an adult it's still enough to make her head spin. Living in the Death Murder planet, you'd think it'd give *some* immunity or at least indifference to it, but nope. Well, should some bodies be made, they'll be great for fertilizer anyway, so it's not a huge deal. Hopefully.

Characters

Yue Qingyuan. I think it will come as no surprise to anyone given my blog title and header lol. Explaining why I love him so much would turn into a full character analysis, but he is just So soggy and bitable. He tries so hard but lives in a world where he's destined to fail, both because of his background and the narrative he's trapped in. He cares so much in a world that will never reward him for that. He repeats the same mistakes over and over because he can't see an alternative path. He is SO SAD AND SO DIVORCED and so traumatized but probably has a complete inability to recognize that fact and he loves and loves and loves but love is not enough to save anyone.

Shen Jiu. He's probably the reason I'm obsessed with SVSSS, instead of just having a passing interest. A week or two after I read the novel for the first time, I started thinking about him and just ended up full on weeping. I find his character incredibly compelling; I love absolute messes, and I really really love seeing a depiction of trauma where the character does not come out stronger or "beautifully broken". It's hard not to be compelled by a character who literally represents the cycle of abuse, who is allowed by the narrative to be both tragic victim and heinous abuser, who is allowed to show what abuse does to people. On a lighter note, I find his younger personality very funny, especially with his dynamic with Yue Qi. He's an absolute gremlin and he lends well to absurdity in lighter fics.

Luo Binghe. Who doesn't love the protagonist!! My reasons for loving Binghe overlap with my reasons for loving SJ— they're foils after all— but I think the core of it is that Binghe is just Deeply Human. He’s just a little guy who’s desperate to be loved. He’s a poorly trained puppy biting down to hold on to the only person who’s ever treated him properly. He’s never done anything wrong in his life.

Shen Qingqiu. His internal dialogue/ narration is why SVSSS is so fun to read! He’s the man shaping this tragedy into a comedy. He’s so insane and so unselfaware, I need to dissect him. Ultimately he’s just a really fun character! 10/10 would chuck him at a wall.

Liu Qingge. He has sword autism what more need I say. I don't talk about him as much on here because my interpretation of him tends to contradict fanon, but I love him so much and I shove him into so many OT3s. Bonus: Qi Qingqi and Mu Qingfang. They're the two background characters with minimal characterization I've latched on to and created massive sprawling headcanons for. This is mostly because I think they are both very sexy.

Moments So fun fact I have clinical memory issues and it’s been a little bit since I read all of SVSSS, so this is WAY harder for me, and I'll definitely miss something. But of what I can recall: 

Xiao Jiu threatening to bash another boy’s head in with a rock, and Yue Qi saying “he didn’t mean it”, even though SJ Definitely Meant It and YQ Definitely Knew That. I just find it cute when children are violent I guess 🤣 (Cheng Qian my beloved), and It kind of foreshadows their later dynamic where YQY covers for SQQ without question— YQY thinks he’s doing the same thing as when they were kids, and SQQ thinks YQY is trying to sweep a troublesome mess under the rug. In general, YQY puts a lot more value on their times as slaves than SQQ does/ is more nostalgic for it (probably because YQY’s Intensely traumatic moments were after he joined CQMS, whereas the worst parts of SQQ’s life were all before that point (until Bingge lol))

YQY paying for SQQ’s gambling at the the IAC. Canonized his findom kink.

“My hand slipped 🙂” YQY’s sexist moment in the book imo. Makes me scream on reread.

There was always something…out of place with you. Mika felt this even when he accepted your friendship when they first arrived to be livestock for the vampires. You didn't wear the uniforms they did but you weren't a vampire. That much was proven when you sat at the table with his family and ate just heartily as the little ones. You were frequently roaming around Ferid's residence, greeting him and playing with him when he wasn't being sucked by Ferid. "I've heard a lot about you Mr. Yuu! When you finally get rid of the vampires what're you gonna do?" You were just weird. Although it was more like Yuu to be wary of you he warmed up to you right away leaving the position to Mika. He caught himself looking for you even going so far as to ask Ferid. "Hmm? You're wondering where baby (Y/n) is? They got in trouble recently so there spending the night in their room, like the little princess/prince they are!" Thankfully Ferid didn't seem sore about it. He felt a twinge of regret when he crafted the plan to leave without telling you. But how could he? His family or the friend that could very well be aligned with the ones they were running from? As it would turn out it didn't matter because he never ended up leaving the wretched place. It wasn't until a year later that he was allowed to see you. When he saw you next he was a very different person. He didn't smile. He hardly could speak about anything positive. And he truly couldn't get his mind off of his single goal: to find his Yuu-chan. Nonetheless you greeted him with a smile, encouraged him with every gaining step, and even cursed vampires like he wished he could. You were still quite weird to him. He grabbed your hands cupping them in his. "Won't you see me off for my happy start? After all it would be the last time we see each other." It was sudden. When Mikaela pulled you aside placing you in an abandoned store telling you to wait. You knew it was only a matter of time before Yuu would be carried by the struggling Mika. But you sat and waited, dozing off. "(Y/n)?! You're here too!?" Not even fully opening your eyes you felt the weight and warmth of a human's hug. "Y-yuuichiro?" You hugged him back looking over his shoulder at Mika who now had crimson eyes but nonetheless was smiling the most he's smiled in a long time. You caught up with Yuu even letting him rant all about his 'family' and how everyone was finally going to be together. "Ohhh I almost forgot we have to get back to them!" "As if. I'm not going back there for them." Yuu visibly sweatdropped before nervously rubbing the back of his head. "We can negotiate on the way, then!" They moved to the entrance of the doors before stopping to look back at you, still planted in your spot. "I'm really happy you found each other! But I have to figure out what excuse I have to give so they won't be on my back." "But aren't you coming with us?" The sad till in his voice and emerald eyes had you sighing and avoiding eye contact. "They'll always be looking for me anyway so even if I wanted to go it wouldn't be ideal. So I'll be content with you guys saving your family!" Both boys were deathly silent. It started to unnerved you as the feeling of dread creeps into your heart. "I-i think you misunderstood me (Y/n)." The way Yuu said your name brought you into cold sweat. He moved once again trapping your forearms in his gloved hands. "When I say I'm getting my family back together I mean all of them!" Feeling the touch of Mika's hand resting on the small of your back made you realize just how overpowered they were to you. A corps officer in sync with his demon weapon and a vampire familiar with combat both harvesting the power of the seraph in their veins. Even with your own angelic powers you were beat. Without much resistance you allowed yourself to be held threateningly by Yuichiro as the duo located a car. All the while casually bickering about whether they were going back or not. You sat silently trying to calm your frantic heart as you vaguely gathered the plan you expected of them. "Now what do we do with you?" It was a playful statement but their obsessive eyes glowing green and red it freaked you out more. Sensing your discomfort Mika instructed for Yuu to let him carry you away. Agreeing he pulled into a random alley way, reaching over to kiss you on the forehead before Mika carried you away. Hopping from building to building the only thing you could do was lean on Mika's shoulder staining it with your tears as air whipped you in the face. Finally stopping you were set down on a bed of paper, complacent as he tied your arm and legs. You expected him to leave at that point but instead he curled behind you pulling your body into his chest. "I know this is scary (Y/n) but you have to trust me. Trust us. We want to protect you the most and we are the most capable." "After all who better to protect a deity than the Seraphim themselves." You could do nothing to keep your tears back as you cried at his declaration. Leaning into the comforting hands of the blond vampire. You eventually once again were lulled to sleep. With a kiss on your nose he reluctantly hopped back to Yuu. His moon, his sun he had both now. What mattered was protecting them. His sun was too giving and his moon too delicate. He figured he'd indulge in the sun's desires for now considering he was bright enough to realize the fragility of their beloved moon. But first he had to sort out the unmentionables, in order to keep his sun shining because if his sun was shining his moon was bound to come around sooner or later.

Sakura's popularity in Japan took a serious hit when she attempted to move on to Naruto at the Kage Summit. This shift alienated Japanese fans who value loyalty and true love and even Japonese fans started to hate Sakura.

He knew Sakura catch bullets for that nonsense. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like he’s a writing god who could accurately predict all critical reception. he also said he misread sai & Kimimaro whom he expected to be super popular but flopped astronomically. But with Sakura? it’s a battle shonen where fans value either raw power or emotional value. He didn’t include sakura in the action for the longest time, and on the emotional side, he used her to victimize naruto & humble sasuke as the “actually not that good” guy who needs to be surpassed. and Sasuke gets humbled for naruto to look good and Sakura in turn looks bad. like how he could put her in that position with the minimal action & negative emotional value combo and be shocked that some little girls didn’t identify with that misogynistic like "Women are fickle are autumn skies" .

Kishimoto managed to put all Sasuke, SasuSaku and NaruHina and the JAPONESE fans against Sakura in that fake confession.

Kishimoto was trying to to portray her positively, but fumbled up and received a backlash he did not except, which seems to have affected his writing for her later.

Sakura confirming that she loves Sasuke in chapter 540 and saying that a girl's feelings can't change after failing in love was an attempt to save her after the disaster of 'girls are fickle as autumn skies' from the fake confession. I think NaruSaku fans needs to undertand Japonese really values loyality and true love above all and they didn't wanted to see Sakura move on to Naruto after she declared her love to Sasuke and SS are always the most popular pairing in Japan.

Perhaps NaruSaku could have worked, but the misconstrued and bad writing confession at the Kage Summit ultimately sealed its fate.

Greetings!! I heard about you from a mutual and I wanna try your event if you don't mind ^^!!

I greatly enjoy drawing digitally and writing (lowkey?) "spooky" fics. I'm an ENTP (4w3); aries rising, virgo sun & moon. My favourite characters are Dainsleif, Kaveh, and Faruzan. In terms of how I'd describe myself, I'd say I'm "funny" and easygoing on the surface but I have my principles. I put "funny" on quotation marks because most my humor is just impulse thoughts lol. I like spending time with people who similarly have intense values, love for their craft, and/or beliefs that they will suffer for without hesitation— yes, especially even if they do become extremely unhinged and feral for it. I have strong tendencies to hyperfixate when it comes to academics and writing. If there's one thing consistent about me, it's that I enjoy politely discussing and/or debating about any subjects when prompted (I'd either play devil's advocate or practice socratic method countless times so people become more comfortable with their own opinions).

I think "grandma core" and fantasy-medieval aesthetics are very appealing. I usually play Genshin with the intent to adopt people (ranging from kiddos like Yaoyao to a literal grown man: Itto) so I guess that would explain the former aesthetic haha.

If it's not too much, may I kindly ask to join events 1, 2, and 3? If Dainsleif for number 2 isn't viable then perhaps Kaveh or Wriothesley? —what a lovely pair! dehya is certainly someone who would catch your eye from far away. with her bright, loud and expressive self, it's hard to have a single dull moment when she's around. she would find you curious and a bit funny in the sense that you would come off as cute as panda to her but your fierce attitude would say otherwise. she would think of you as an angry marshmallow and would almost felt responsible for your safety. both of you stick to work and ethics, which would make you easily adjust with her.

—there is fun and lots of talking involved here, you both would love spending time with each other doing seemingly stupid activities like pottery, or baking, or even sewing which are not significant at all but you two would crack way too many jokes for it to be dull anymore. dehya might not be able to adjust to your debate seeking self though, and would refrain from the mindset of her opinion against yours and would rather urge you to think like your opinion with hers. she's a very constructive and warm person, so when you get overly finicky or get into perfectionist mode, she would gently pull you back and make you see the bigger picture. you two compliment each other well, but sometimes there may be conflicts in methodology which need to be sorted out. not to worry though, both of you are mature enough to navigate through difficulties!

She mentioned something about her highness, the Raiden Shogun being fond of something known as 'Dango Milk', I'm afraid I'm not sure what that is, but I don't think the Lady will be satiated without it. Not to pressurise you at all, though.

Everything is fine here, which means Autumns were quite dull. The Fortress is quieter than usual, and though it's better that way, it does feel lonely. Clorinde asked me about it once, a bit unexpectedly to be honest since I thought I was doing a good job at hiding my feelings, so I told her I was fine. I think I'll just keep playing Charades with everyone until you're back.

It's a bit funny how close we grew, as touching as it has always been. I hope you'll be back soon, and safe. Let me know when you'll return, I'll send a few guards for your security. Please don't deny, your safety is my priority.

—sayu is a disciplined and skilled child, with utmost control over her craft. although those who have high expectations of her are often left somewhat disappointed, it is safe to say that few are concerned with reaching the stem of sayu's lack of motivation- the lack of her most trusted and loved master. indeed, the lack of a person can never be quite fulfilled, but the position they took certainly can be. in her young eyes, you would be a most trustworthy and ideal adult. with your disciplined, sophisticated yet passionate approach to life, she would find an adult who does not nag at her to do something while not doing it themselves.

—you would become an ideal for her to grow up into, and with the best intent, she may even stalk you at times just to see how you deal with people! she would think that you're headstrong, straightforward and direct, traits that she quite admires. she may or may not ever say that to you directly, but there will always be tonnes of trust between you two! she would sneakily tell you all her hiding spots as a way of expressing her admiration and trust and hope that you get it.

ok I accidentally clicked a rage bait video & got sooo mad & now I have stuff to say. gamers who can’t handle controversial or taboo subject matter (first of all you’re weak) who insist on playing & discussing the coffin of andy & leyley anyway are annoying for numerous reasons but I think a specific thing that really just… grinds my gears the wrong way is the argument that the game exists “for shock value.”

well. first of all. I have to introduce you to this insane mind blowing concept in the world of horror where it’s occasionally meant to shock & horrify the viewer. I know. I know. take a second. take it in. it’s a lot.

but also. DUH a game with genuinely horrifying content is playing on that in its marketing??? obviously? sorry you’ve never seen horror marketed before ever I guess.

but it’s also so deeply unfair to one of the most compelling & well written games I’ve ever seen to just… Idk. reduce it to shock content?

when I first introduced myself to the game it was because of the incest & cannibalism. yeah. Im not ashamed or fake enough to not admit that obvious truth lol. I’m sorry that’s kinda it’s whole gimmick / marketing ploy let’s not like. pretend that’s not the main stuff that draws people in. but the actual amount of time we spend on those topics??? outside of subtext??? it’s minimal.

you have to make very specific choices to even see the demonic vision of the siblings fucking because it’s horrifying to Andrew & Ashley’s response that “maybe this is a way to keep him around…” Is like. Deeply depressing & telling of her mental state.

this is not like. a soulless porno game that just does this stuff out of nowhere? not that there’s anything wrong with that! I’m not shitting on porn. I for real genuinely don’t see a problem with people enjoying fucked up porn if they want to that’s just…. genuinely & actually not what this complex horror story game is & it sucks that it tends to get reduced to that?

I just find it so insulting to the incredibly talented writers of this crazy fucked up & nuanced story about abuse, codependency, & choices none of us ever wanted to make to reduce it JUST shock value schlock.

Hello! I really like your analysis and ramblings on episode 7(and everything you write in general)so I wanted to know your thoughts and opinions on something that has been bothering me since I started reading episode 7.

I originally thought that the fact that Yuu came from another world was like a secret between them and Crowley(and Grim), because there were absolutely no signs that I know of that could've hinted at the opposite. So the fact that now it is hinted at that everyone knows about it like it's just regular news just rubs me the wrong way. Like, no one doubted their word? No one was suspicious of them and asked for proof? No one asked any questions about their world ? It feels very out of character for me if they just, took the info at face value without questioning the source.

Idk I just thought it would be important somehow, as it is one of the only things besides mickey and the dreams that make Yuu interesting in any way, as it had so much potential for for world building and character development and potential interactions between them and Yuu, which if I remember by my former interactions with the Fandom, people really like, they want Yuu to be more active and involved.

I find the subplot of Yuu finding a way home to be just that: a subplot. It (and Yuu, by extension) takes a backseat in favor of addressing the struggles of the OB boys; this is why I often hesitate to call Yuu the “main character”, because it doesn’t feel like they are. It feels more like the OB boys are the main characters and that Yuu (due to their minimal involvement) is one of many mob students witnessing their breakdowns. (The only times where Yuu was pretty active in the story was like episodes 3 and 4.) It’s because of this that the sudden shift and focus on Yuu finding a way home early in 7 feels weird and stilted to me.

Yuu discovering a way home in episode 7 feels particularly abrupt because the only other major times when this problem or a potential resolution is brought up is all the way back in the prologue and as a joke in episode 4 when Crowley fucks off for vacation. (I’m not counting the brief dream sequences and meetings with Mickey because we didn’t have context for this as actually being tied to a route home until very recently in 7.) No one (and especially not Yuu, oddly enough) has been making a conscious effort to find them a way home. The situation isn’t treated like the serious problem that it should be for Yuu, most likely because the focus of the narrative is not ON Yuu but on the characters around them and for the meta reason of “it’s a game, we need an excuse to have the player present”.

Yuu being from another world is so scarcely brought up in the main story narrative that I wouldn’t blame anyone for thinking it was a secret between Yuu, Grim, and Crowley. I myself thought this was the case for the longest time too. However, upon a rereading of the text, it seems that it has been mentioned a few times (mainly by the boys in Heartslabyul). As Yuu’s closest companions, Ace and Deuce seem generally aware of their circumstances. Additionally, Trey mentions Yuu being from “a world without magic” in episode 5. Kalim also says Yuu is from another world, but this occurs during an event, which is considered not a part of the main story timeline. In any case, what I’m trying to say that it wasn’t made clear prior to 7 that Yuu being from another world was common knowledge among the student populace; I was under the impression that only Yuu’s closest friends (Ace, Deuce, Grim) and Crowley knew, while everyone else just understood that a student was picked by the Mirror of Darkness yet had no magic so they had to enroll under “special circumstances” with Grim. I guess this information was never that relevant to the plots introduced in each episode, but it would have been a smoother transition if the characters offhandedly mentioned Yuu’s true origins a little more often 💦 or each episode had a little segment where Yuu is making some kind of effort to do their own research to get home??

I do find it odd that now 7 is treating Yuu being from another world like it was common knowledge (for the other first years, for Malleus, etc.) 😅 Like… when did Yuu have the time to tell them (especially since they aren’t super friendly with most characters and don’t seem to spend time with them)?? It couldn’t have been something they overheard from Crowley, since the students were all herded off to their respective dorms to be shown around before Crowley tried to send Yuu home. Yuu didn’t even introduce themselves to Malleus as someone not of this world when they first met in episode 2… It’s also just strange that everyone automatically accepts it??? Ace and Deuce had a hard time believing in Mickey until Yuu showed them a picture of him, so why is everyone else suddenly buying that Yuu is from another world? Okay, maybe people like Kalim would take it at face value but I can’t imagine the more suspicious characters accepting it so readily.

I’m guessing the reason why there wasn’t more focus on this aspect of the main story is that, as I’ve been saying, this is not the central conflict; it’s just the setup to insert Yuu into this world as an easy third party for the players to observe the world/characters and to have everything explained to them. Another thing to consider is that it would be difficult for the writers to have a segment every episode solely dedicated to Yuu unloading their backstory onto the new dorm and then trying to convince them all that it’s true. Again, Yuu is not a “main character” in the traditional sense; if they were and there was significantly more focus put on their way home, they would potentially be competing with the OB boy for the spotlight.

I do wish we had previously seen the NRC boys express a more overt awareness for where Yuu comes from. We are missing that, and it leaves us in a complicated place where 7 feels tonally jarring in sections pertaining to Yuu heading home. I guess it can be easily ignored if you suspend your disbelief and assume Yuu told everyone off-screen (which was probably the case for characters like Trey and Adeuce). Perhaps it was designed this way so people can “fill in the gaps” with their self-inserts of Yuusonas revealing the knowledge in their own ways??? But for those of us that just consume the story straight up, it certainly feels a little “off”.

Soooo if you've been following me you probably know I've done a few things since my last WIP Wednesday, namely more tattoo stuff, and more recently ... more hair stuff.

After a LOT of agonising over it I finally consider the neck 'done' ... or done enough (vaguely ... thinking about doing something more in the transition between the tattoo and the jaw but I probably should stop honestly or I'll never stop). This means I probably have enough done to get away with taking screenshots while I work on the rest of it. Been pondering drawing up an actual plan for the rest beyond what I've been doing so far - mostly winging it and smashing things together. Might get stuff done faster, who knows.

Anyway I am back on my hair shit, yet again that's going just about ... as well as you'd expect ...

Okay okay, I'll be honest, this has been fixed but I gotta say after spending a whole 12 hrs staring at lines of code, changing entries and having to redo them several times because I'd fucked up some file name or changed my mind or found out 'no that is not where you should be putting that folder you absolute dingus' and this was the best I could do was kind of hilarious. 😂

The important part was I'd gotten it IN, which was a process and a half, considering THIS time I'm using a custom made 2048px hair texture (alpha is 4k) and a higher poly mesh - which means yeah, this is the same hair rebuilt from scratch.

After some additional fiddling ...

I got it in. All of it. No missing textures, no hair cards in the hair cap slot. The physics look janky but it's somewhat intentional - this is a minimal effort rigging job based on the alt rig, the priority was to get this hair texture IN so I could see how it looked in game and how everything sat before I dug myself further into a sunk cost fallacy over this second version of the hair.

And I'm actually pretty happy with it? There is some curl distortion yeah but it's not as bad as it was last time - and considering I'd rigged that one PROPERLY is saying something. Higher poly + textures are making a big difference here. It's pretty obvious in the comparison -

Also yes I am aware this one is WAY too shiny, but that one is a considerably easy fix now I know how Vertex Paint actually affects this value. I was a bit too generous on the highlight gradient so I've already repainted what I have so far, using side-by-side references with existing game meshes to try and get it 'equal' but it's likely gonna be a lot of back and forth calibrating with that one.

Excessive shiny-ness aside I'm actually REALLY happy with how the side curl is sitting nice and neat in her jacket collar this time! Also man ... doesn't that look silky ... (ok maybe some shine is good lmao)

I guess that's kind of it on the mod front. I've got other projects in a very initial stage (it's fanfic. Ofc it's fanfic) but work on both the tattoo bodysuit + hair is eating up a lot of my daily spoon allowance so that one will happen when it happens I guess (and probably when at minimum, this goddamn hair is done).

Oh and this hair is using UUH4V. I GOT IT TO WORK. Which means I'll be able to use multiple rigs which will hopefully prevent these carefully crafted curls from getting minced beyond recognition, fingers crossed.

I have an idea for a story and although I don't want to give away a lot because I do still plan to write it. I have a question I'm not sure if you ever answered already. And, if not I'd like to hear your take. What would you think the difference to the story would be if The McCalls were hunters? And, like Allison, Scott wasn't inducted into the lifestyle because of reasons. How do you think the police station scene would have played out? How do you think his dad's return would have played out?

What an interesting idea! I've always been impressed while also being intimidated with AUs that change things before the beginning of the show in a significant way. As someone who respects both nature and nurture in the creation of a personality, I'm always worried about altering things too much so the characters no longer match their backstories. It's not aesthetically pleasing to me. (As an aside, it's why few tropes take me out of a Teen Wolf fanfiction more then when Stiles tries to minimize the impact of Rafael being gone on Scott, "because at least he's still alive" in order to claim that Derek would understand him better, because Stiles knows what it is like to have a living parent who no longer acts like it.)

You didn't specify in your ask, but I'm assuming the Argent backstory does not change, which to me is vitally important. Many members of the fandom try to dismiss Scott's relationship with Allison as a boring teen obsession, but they miss the underlying thematic statement. Allison is an Argent. She was unknowingly trained to be a hunter. She has been raised to have the proper mindset to be a hunter: "Imagine how strong that makes you!" But she is not just a hunter. At the core of Scott's heroic journey is the ability to see people beyond their circumstances, and that is embodied -- in both the series and in the movie -- in his conviction that Allison is an independent person worthy of value regardless of her last name or what's been done to her. Scott, in contrast to Derek's brutal hyper-masculine tribalism, knows that it is not necessarily preordained that she will eventually and always hunt and kill werewolves. And guess what? Scott is right. Repeatedly.

So, the McCalls as hunters. I'm not sure what your take would be, but if I did it, I might approach it like this. Rafael and Melissa were both government agents, working for a secret branch of the FBI that identified and neutralized supernatural creatures, including werewolves. Think of them as Mulder and Scully in a less benign version of the X-Files. They get married and have Scott, and eventually they come to Beacon Hills to investigate the Hale Fire. Faced with that carnage, Melissa has had enough and wishes to leave the agency. While the staircase incident might still have happened, the couple really divorces because she looked at a family of werewolves burned alive and said "I don't want my son a part of this" while Rafael remained devoted to his work.

In this way, very little would have to change until the scene in the jail, though Melissa could be a doctor as she should have been. Her statement of "we're better off with him out of their lives" would take on a different meaning of course. At the jail, she could still react in horror, not because she doesn't understand what is happening, but because she does understand what's happening. She's seen what happens to werewolves who come to the attention of the government and that is the last thing she wanted for her son. But she's also seen what happens when werewolves go out of control (the hunter's bias). She's still the same person who cares, but now she's paralyzed by what to do, torn between the demands of the outside world and still wanting to protect her son.

Not much would have to change in Season 2, but Season 3A would change a lot. Melissa would not be anywhere near as passive. She would confront Derek on his behavior. She would take over the investigation into the Darach. She would deliberately, I think, try to thwart Rafael's involvement. After all, he chose his job over his family once before. She could still be a source of inspiration and support for Scott, but she'd pull a damn gun in The Overlooked (3x10) and start blasting. When Jennifer snidely implied a threat to Scott in Alpha Pact (3x11), "well, most of them" Melissa would get a speech of her own, where she underlines what's wrong with Jennifer's "that's why they call it a sacrifice" bullshit. "I used to be like you, thinking that depriving people different than me of their rights and their lives was simply acting for the greater good. All I was doing was acting on my own fear."

Melissa and Rafael's relationship would change from Melissa running interference between Scott and Rafael in order to encourage Rafael to reconnect with Scott and more into Melissa in direct conflict with Rafael during 3B and 4, as she works to hide Scott's lycanthropy from him and get him to leave.

Oh. I would have been very happy with this version. And, in fact, as I was writing this out, I really want to see this version. Maybe I will write it. But I would love to see yours.

Hi mbti notes, I’m an ENTJ having issues with a superior at work and would appreciate your perspective. I find myself reacting with anger to a lot of her decisions, more than just frustration at what I consider to be bad policy changes. I try to stay polite in the moment but I recently had to rant about her to trusted friends. I am not the sort of person to hold grudges, so this is a weird and bad feeling for me. I think it is because her decisions are just plain mean and I have no way to argue against them since they arent necessarily irrational or illogical. They will save the business money, but I feel uncomfortable with them (being vague for privacy). No one else working there seems to be bothered so I wonder if I am more angry than I should be, though my friends agreed it sounded unnecessarily mean. I guess my question is how to deal with authority you disagree with without going straight to confrontation. And also why my anger feels so out of proportion. Thank you

You are entitled to your opinions and your feelings are valid. Feelings and emotions reveal important truths, which is why accounting for them is necessary for good decision-making and denying them can be harmful. Feelings and emotions become disruptive or unhealthy when you aren't able to acknowledge them, understand them, process them, and use them to enhance your existence - these are all important elements of emotional intelligence.

Anger is an indication of significant injury or brokenness. Whenever you encounter an unfair, unjust, or unethical situation, anger is the appropriate response to the relationship fracture, the betrayal of trust, and/or the damage done to the victims. Without anger, humans wouldn't have the motivation to rectify/prevent problematic social situations. When you don't address these problems properly, the social environment easily becomes toxic and harmful to everyone.

Anger is a very strong and draining emotion because it's meant to quickly spur action that stops/prevents harm. Where people often get confused is they experience all this anger burning inside themselves and they have no idea how to handle it or where to channel it. Some people can't handle the intensity and repress it, only to have it pop back out in destructive ways. Some people get consumed and express it, which only fans the flames of an already tense situation. Are there alternatives to repressing or expressing?

To handle feelings and emotions wisely:

Take them. Accept them. Allow yourself to feel them fully.

Listen to them and hear what they're telling you to do.

Try to look at the situation from different perspectives in order to prevent yourself from getting too biased in judgment.

Pause and tap into your better self to determine what the best course of action is.

Moral problems aren't black-and-white most of the time. Complex moral problems do not have perfect solutions, which is why they are difficult to reason through and resolve. No matter what, someone's going to lose something, so all you can do is try to minimize the losses by carefully considering several possible outcomes, i.e., use Ni to visualize the best possible course of events.

In your case, there seems to be three separate issues to address:

1) The Merits of the Decision: By putting yourself in the company's position, you are able to acknowledge that the decision was advantageous, so you have no logical grounds to counter it. Okay.

But keep in mind that such decisions are never perfectly justified. They are usually based on some data as well as some underlying value judgments. Perhaps a different manager/executive would've looked at that data and made a different decision based on a different set of values. The devil is in the details. Expose the details of the decision-making process and you may find grounds for objection.

For example, although it was an "advantageous" decision for the company, was it absolutely "necessary" to decide in that particular way? Asking this kind of question changes the angle and opens up a different avenue of inquiry. Of course, you might not be in a position to answer the question. But you asked for perspective, so that's one alternative way to approach the argument.

2) The Ethics of the Decision: You take issue with the manner in which the policy change was communicated or implemented ("sounded unnecessarily mean"). You pin the blame on a particular superior. How you handle this depends on what your ultimate goal is.

E.g. If your end goal is to get the policy amended, then you'll have to speak with the people who have the power to change it and convince them with compelling arguments. If your end goal is to get this superior to communicate better, then you'll have to determine whether she'd be open to feedback and come up with a constructive way to deliver the criticism to her (i.e. without blaming and shaming). If your end goal is to alleviate the suffering of the people who will be most impacted by this policy change, then ignore the superior and deal directly with the victims.

3) The Power Differential: You are constrained by the rules and norms of a superior/subordinate relationship. To continue point #2, you have to determine what your end goal should be, but what you set as your end goal is largely determined by how much influence you have over the situation. Since I don't know your status in the company, I can't make any judgments on this matter.

Even when you don't have the power to influence the higher-ups or make big sweeping structural change, doing so-called "smaller" things to alleviate suffering is also very important for mending injury or brokenness. This would be a positive, constructive, and ethical way to channel and release anger. Even venting about the problem with colleagues can be productive, if it leads to greater unity among staff for pushing back against future injury. From anger's perspective, it's better to do something, even in part, to right a wrong than just do nothing and submit to it.

What do you think would happen if Nagisa was actually born biologically as female? I'm curious as to how it would change his character and personality 👀 And if the karmagisa dynamic would change drastically or not

I mean it depends. If Nagisa's birth sex is literally the only difference to canon, there's a chance he might have been less abused by Hiromi? I guess it's easier to look at this from the perspective of him being cisgender, because him still being a boy wouldn't significantly alter canon that much, you'd still have very similar issues I believe. I'll still use he/him pronouns in this post though.

I guess on an inherent level, Nagisa would probably have less of a complex about wearing skirts, having longer hair etc. I still believe he wouldn't LIKE it, but I don't think the same level of, arguably, dysphoria over it.

Hiromi would still probably be almost as bad, though. Her issues were never limited to Nagisa being female, even though that was the crux of it. She also wanted him to be academically successful, work for a specific company, and maintain a sort of hyper femininity? Nagisa being female would just remove that initial barrier to her 'replaying her own life'. I think she'd still be abusive in the same ways, maybe with more of an emphasis on different aspects.

I don't think Nagisa's personality would be fundamentally different, actually. Perhaps this is skewed by my own views on gender. But if we're breaking it down to what's basically a difference in testosterone, Nagisa never really acts with 'masculine' traits as it is. I still think it would be possible for him to be kind of a tomboy and prefer to wear his hair up etc.

His relationships with other characters would certainly be different. And, okay, I'm going to say it here because it's very important if I talk about karmagisa. Modern Japan is very interesting when it comes to gender stuff. And we have to take this with a pinch of salt that, though I have lived there, I'm not a teenager, nor am I Japanese. But generally speaking, you might consider views a little 'backwards'. A lot of women are relegated to housewife roles (mostly a result of 1900s campaigns, look up 'good wife, wise mother' if you're interested). The red light district and *ahem* adult entertainment industry, including brothels lovingly named 'soapworld' basically thrive, where sexual freedom is shied away from otherwise arguably. Long story short, there's a lot of misogyny. It's basically ingrained in the language itself, actually, but that's a very long argument. Point is, as one might expect, that effects relationships between boys and girls as kids. Not necessarily negatively- think of the 'never hit a girl' type of attitude. So, for example, I don't think what happened in episode one with Terasaka would EVER happen here. Similarly, I don't think Nagisa would be as close with Sugino, not in the same exact way at least.

KARMAGISA

I would bet [insert high value here] that they would be romantically canon. 100%. Like, I genuinely don't see any way in which it wouldn't be. If, at least, it's assumed that minimal plot beats change. Civil war probably would have ended with a kiss. I'm not confident that they'd address it much after that (though, valentines day episode?). But like, Chiba and Hayami are clearly canon without it being explicitly spelt out, so.

For the reasons I stated previously, I do think they would be written differently. Their distance, for instance, I really don't think would be significant. That's just kind of how it is, unless they're childhood friends from like nursery age maybe.

I'm also not sure if Karma would have been so forward when they first started hanging out (ie coming up to him and demanding they go to the cinema), though they were also kids, so maybe? I still think they'd have been close friends and it would have broken down in the same way.

Again, I'm uncertain if their relationship would have gone same exactly as it does in the show. Especially the teasing and the one on one time. Though, them hanging out together might definitely cause rumours, especially the Hawaii thing...

(lowkey it would be funny if Sugino's just trying to be a friend, but Karma thinks he just has a crush on Nagisa for like half a year lol)

Without writing like, a whole fanfic about it right here, the other major thing would be civil war. I still fully believe Nagisa's assassination skill is the exact same. I think he and Karma might still fight. But the thing is, even Karma... Look, okay. There's like one manga panel (just take my word for it, it's at the start of kyoto arc) where he shows how he has evidence against people he beat up. The photo he has as 'evidence' or blackmail or whatever it is shows a guy with injuries and a girl who just appears to be crying. Point is, I really doubt Karma would beat up on a girl unprovoked. I doubt he views women as lesser or anything, it's just so ingrained. Even OUTSIDE of Japan.

So yeah, point is, I don't see him physically shoving Nagisa in this version of events. Nor do I see thigh choking occurring. I think you could still get the set up with them yelling at each other though.

Actual civil war, I can picture them fighting pretty much the same however. I think that's different. Though, maybe the onlookers would comment on it more, maybe chastising Karma for being that rough. I could see someone countering, however, that Nagisa's perfectly capable, Karma's merely recognising that. So basically the same as canon, just slightly more nuanced.

Yeah, as I said before, I think they'd make karmagisa canon following this. I don't see it changing their dynamic much more than how I mentioned already though.

Honestly, I argued mostly how I think things would go down from the POV of the writing. My own opinion of the characters, however? There's obviously the issue of sexuality, especially with Karma. Personally I've written him with a variety of identities. I think nowadays my opinion is pretty much gay until proven otherwise (especially since koroq). So, in reality, maybe a female Nagisa would be more of a platonic friend?

That was accidentally a lot. I even tried to be brief. Whoops? Well, that's some analysis anyway. If anyone desperately wants me to go deeper into hcs on this, I don't mind doing so.
