FIC SUMMARY: Ushijima doesn't know why the girl tasked with covering the team for the school paper won't leave his mind

“Is she back already?” Ushijima didn’t flinch when Tendo joined his side, only nodding stoically in response. He was observing the girl with such rapt attention, that Tendo was genuinely surprised; usually, Ushijima only had eyes for volleyball. Girls seemed to be out of the question. Even when the topic of girls was brought up in the locker room, he never paused to pass comment. In fact, he didn’t look like he was even listening to the conversation, instead methodically doing up the buttons on his shirt or neatly folding his kit.

“I hear she’s from the journalism club” he said, watching his friend’s face carefully for any changes in his features. The day had been so boring, and finally something interesting was happening. “Hmmm”. Nothing. “I guess she must want to cover the team going to the finals.” “Hmmm.” Nothing again. “Maybe she’ll want to interview us?” Ushijima cleared his throat “hmmm.” Ah, bingo. “You should talk to her” he nudged Ushijima in the side “you’re the captain after all.” Ushijima finally broke his gaze, looking down at the water bottle in his hands “I’m not good at talking.” Tendo opened his mouth to say something encouraging; to bolster his friend who always seemed to be confident in all his abilities on the court, but the squabble between Semi and Shirabu stopped him.

“Hey” Ohira said “don’t fight in front of the press, it makes us look bad.” The two setters continued to scowl at one another but stopped bickering. “It’s no way to act in front of a girl” Tendo added, slapping a hand on his teammates backs “especially a cute girl.” His eyes trailed over to look at Wakatoshi who’s impassive face was betrayed by the way his hands mindlessly fiddled with the blue bottle in his hands. “I guess she’s cute” Semi agreed “if you like that kind of girl.” “What kind of girl is that?” Ushijima asked, making his teammates look up at him in shock. “W-well you know…” Semi struggled to come up with the words to describe her “she’s clumsy, did you see the way she almost tripped coming in here?” “Yeah, but she got up again with that super determined face” Shirabu interjected “like she was so nervous she was overcompensating.�� “She seems energetic” Ohira said “and tenacious.” “Those are good traits” Wakatoshi said offhandedly. “They are” Tendo agreed, egging him on “and she has pretty, long hair. I usually like short hair on girls but even I have to admit that it’s very becoming on her. Right, Miracle Boy?” Ushijima looked up at her again, observing the waves of thick, dark hair that flowed past her shoulders. She tucked a strand behind her ear as she continued to speak to Coach Washijo and note down the things he said in her notebook. “Yes” he agreed “it is.”

Ushijima continued to think about the mystery girl as he got changed. Who was she? Tendo had said she was here on behalf of the school paper, but usually whenever they were written about, it was a sandy haired boy who came by. Why had he never seen her before? He idly put his jacket on, pondering what the feeling in his chest was. A sort of warmth and tenderness. He hoped he wasn’t getting ill.

“Before you all go” Coach Washijo said, stopping the boys from leaving the gym “remember we have practise on Saturday, and I expect you all to be there bright and early at 6am. No excuses. Also, we’ll have a member of the journalism club with us this week so watch your mouths.” He looked pointedly at Semi, who’s cheeks flushed red, much to the enjoyment of Shirabu who nudged him. Ushijima wanted to ask what her name was, but they were dismissed in the next instance and it seemed pointless.

The girl stayed on Ushijima’s mind. That evening he had several hazy dreams all involving her. In one, he just remembered her looking at him and smiling so brightly that he managed to miss a relatively easy receive. In another, she was interviewing him, and he was struggling to answer coherently. He didn’t remember the last one very well, but in it she was holding his hands. He woke up with her phantom touch still on him. He turned his head to squint at his alarm clock. It was almost five am, way too early for him to consider rising. He closed his eyes again, but sleep didn’t find him. He took his phone off charge and looked for Tendo’s number to text. He had insisted that he get a phone, but he didn’t use it much.

U: Tendo, are you awake? I have a query. 4:58am

He didn’t expect to get a response and instead went to take a cold shower to focus his mind. The cold water was a welcome distraction, and he felt his body leave the dreamy warm state it was in. Today he had practise until noon, but nothing especially pressing to do afterwards. Perhaps he’d take a jog before dinner. He knew he should probably make time to review some tapes from their last practise game too. Despite him concentrating on his own schedule, his mind once again wandered to her. What would she do today?

He left the shower, padding back to his room with a towel around his shoulders. His phone buzzed.

T: What query could you possibly have at 5am??? 5:08am T: Lay it on me, Miracle Boy 5:09am

He picked up his phone, struggling to come up with a coherent sentence.

U: The girl has remained in my mind. I think I must be getting ill, should I tell coach today? 5:12am T: Sounds like love sickness to me ;) 5:12am U: I’m not familiar with that illness 5:1am T: -_- It’s a good thing you found volleyball 5:14am U: I don’t understand 5:14am T: We’ll talk about it later 5:15am U: Ok 5:15am

“She’s here” Ushijima blinked at the girl, standing before them. She looked sleepy, clutching a thermos as she greeted the volleyball team members. Her hair was tied up into a ponytail, which Ushijima didn’t like nearly as much as her hair being out. Still, there was something admittedly quite cute about seeing her like this; dreamy eyed, red cheeked, and cosy in her fluffy jumper. She shouldn’t be out here in the cold, watching the boys do laps, she should be tucked up in bed with her hair being petted gently. The thought made Ushijima flush. He resolved to himself that he was going to concentrate on practise and not on this girl, whose name he still didn’t know.

“So, lover boy” Tendo teased, as he shrugged off his track jacket alongside his friend “you like her?” The boys had entered the gym now to do some routine stretches before doing drills, and Tendo had taken the opportunity to speak up. “I don’t know her.” “But you think she’s cute?” Ushijma paused and swallowed “yes, I suppose so.” “Don’t worry, I’ve got your back.” Tendo winked at him and Ushijima frowned. Surely, he had his back? In their current formation he tended to be behind the Guess Monster. He shook his head free of the thought and went to join the others.

“Take a twenty-minute break and then we’ll do three on three!” “Yes, coach!” The lapse in practise was a welcome one, and Ushijima wiped the sweat off his brow with his towel, grateful for the moment to breathe. “This is your chance” Tendo sang, jutting his chin out at the girl who was speaking to Semi. “It’s rude to interrupt” he said, feeling a sinking feeling in his chest as she laughed at something Semi said. What was this? He felt something brew in his chest that made his teeth clench in annoyance at his teammate. He gripped the water bottle, turning away to drink. “Don’t be angry” Tendo chided “I’ve found out her name…”

*** You stood, trying to follow the game but it was difficult to really grasp what was happening. The ball was shot back and forth with such ferocity that you worried it would hit you. How embarrassing you cringed, picturing yourself getting smacked in the face with the volleyball. You took a step back for safe measure, trying to remember what Haruki had told you.

“The piece is about emotion as much as it’s about sport.” “What kind of feelings can hitting a ball possibly inspire?” You said skeptically. Haruki smiled apologetically “I’m sorry you have to take over for me” “You didn’t ask for a family death” you said, feeling sorry “I’ll do my best.” “You’re a talented writer. Just put your own spin on it, like you always do. I promise this is the last time you’ll have to write a sports piece.”

You had to admit, that despite the dread and the unmistakable sinking feeling in your gut from being out of your depth, you were also in awe of the players. The way they were able to make split second decisions that ensured the ball’s return to the other side of the court; the constant movement… It was actually impressive.

The red-haired boy – you still didn’t know them by name – had an almost eerie gift for knowing what the opposing side was going to do. You scribbled it down, annoyed when you dropped your biro.

“Look out!” Your head tilted up to see your worst fear coming true. The ball was flying towards you and you felt like you had frozen, eyes wide like a deer in headlights. You braced yourself for impact, lowering your head again but the hit never came. You heard a scuffle near you, and you opened your eyes to see the tall one with the olive hair hit the ball away. He met your stunned eyes with his formidable ones. You’d heard of this one. Ushijima the captain of the team. Haruki had assured you that despite his daunting exterior and intimidating manner, he was nobody to legitimately fear. Unless you were on the other team that is…

He looked away first, running back to the court to be alongside his teammates without a glance back. You felt winded. Whatever had just happened felt so intense that it was strange to believe that it was only a couple of seconds long. The sound of a whistle blowing, and the shouts of the demon coach did nothing to snap you out of it.

“Are you alright?” you looked up again to see the captain looking down at you. “Um, yes” you felt your hands go clammy “thank you.” He nodded at you and a silence followed. “Is it always so…” you looked for the right word “dangerous?” The corner of his lip twitched upwards “sometimes.” “Why do you play it then?” He hesitated, looking wistful “I’m good at it and I like it.” It was a terribly blunt answer, but it made you smile. “You’re funny” you said which made him cock his head to the side. “I’ve never been described as humorous before.” “It’s a special kind of humour” you said, rewarded with a faint blush colouring his cheeks. “How is your article progressing?” He asked, clearing his throat. “I think I found my angle on it” you looked up at him “but I need to do more research. I don’t really know too much about volleyball.” “You can ask me. I know about volleyball.” You felt flustered “are you doing anything after practise? Maybe you could help me clarify all the technical stuff?” He nodded “I’m free.” “Cool.” “Yes… cool” he nodded at you, excusing himself to run back. You felt your heart race as you watched him go back to the court. For the first time since you’d been assigned the piece, you felt excited about volleyball.

akechi doesnt real so at the end of the day i don’t really care too much if people think he gladly joined up with shido knowing the full cost of what that meant, but since i’m on my period and already mad about u.s. politics (which actually matters) i’m going to spread some salt here about something that doesn’t

anyone who says "akechi willingly approached shido" IMMEDIATELY make my hackles raise. akechi was a young teenage boy alone in the world and hellbent on getting revenge and was not thinking with a clear mind. it was a plan made with the same emotional impulsivity that was no different than ryuji rushing into kamoshida's office, ready to punch him, after what he did to shiho. it was a plan that's no different than ryuji taking a swing at kamoshida while still on the track team and getting his leg broken for it. are we to say ryuji "willingly" responded to kamoshida's provocation and therefore dismiss all the hurt that came after that? both boys acted under the unjust duress of their circumstances, actions that were both done as a way to defend their mothers and themselves b t w.

sidebar: do we hold ken amada from persona 3 accountable for getting shinji killed because he admitted to being a persona user in front of takaya? do we hold ken accountable for shinji even being in that alleyway that night? no? so we understand that ken was a young boy acting under the duress of his unjust circumstances, hinging it all on revenge so that his mother’s killer could be brought to some kind of justice? we understand that this young boy whose revenge plot was so convoluted, misguided, and thought out for years, yet still not something to blame him for? yes? then why do we hold akechi accountable for his own convoluted, years in the making revenge plot that resulted in the death of others?

guess what ann did? “willingly” flirted with kamoshida to help shiho stay on the team. and hated doing it. guess what akechi did? “willingly” sided with shido’s plot to murder and blackmail his way into power to get in close and get his revenge. and hated doing it. are we going to blame ann for responding to kamoshida's advances? no? then why are we blaming akechi for thinking his only choice was this elaborately stupid revenge plot?

are we going to blame sumi for her moment of weakness that maruki took advantage of in his palace, allowing him to hold her hostage, torture her, and use her persona powers to attack the PT? no? then why are we holding akechi accountable for being an unloved, miserable, bitter orphan who went to the father who abandoned him offering up his powers to be used, and have that father then expand akechi's powers for his own benefit? both akechi and sumi were in weak moments that were taken advantage of. both made decisions under duress. neither of them are responsible for what the men who had power over them did to them.

why do we assume akechi was in any sort of right mind simply because he keeps himself so calm and collected in his recounting of these decisions when we've seen all game long he is masterfully skilled in hiding his feelings?

ppl wanna act like the PT are so unfortunate and need care and protection just because they’re just teenagers until it comes to akechi, who was an even YOUNGER teenager when he got involved with shido, and suddenly it's his fault and he doesn’t need any of that. yeah akechi went to shido to be like HEY YOU CAN USE MY POWER TO YOUR ADVANTAGE, and shido was like “oh good let's fix you up to kill.” shido himself takes credit for expanding akechi's powers in the first place.

my buddy @blkmvsk pointed out something rly important here, and it’s the idea of a “messy” victim. akechi is an incredibly messy victim; kylo ren is to star wars as akechi is to persona 5 royal when it comes to “messy” victims. both of them have body counts and a heap of shitty decisions that never brought them to happiness or peace of mind they craved, and both of them had moments of reckoning when this realization hit them. but ppl in both those fandoms don’t want to see that. what it comes down to is if you’re not a perfect victim--if you’re not sad and suffering and making only slightly bad choices instead of really bad ones--you are therefore guilty for what you went through and all the shitty choices you made after it.

and you know what that is, dear reader? victim blaming.

anyway let’s dust the salt off this blog, i’m over it now.

See, that’s why I should read all the asks before jumping in and starting answering some.... okay sorry, I’ll just ignore the ones I already replied to ;_;

A - Ships that you currently like a lot. I’m not a big shipper, but here’s something from my most recent fandoms and something that I liked for years: Jerza (Fairy Tail) and Royai (Fma), IkkaYumi (Bleach they are canon don’t @ me), ObaMitsu (Demon Slayer, had to google this. Mostly because I read the last chapter a couple of days ago and I’m still in shock), tonight I was reminded of a ship I used to have a long time ago and it’s not anime, LeoxPiper (PJO)

B - A pairing–platonic, romantic or sexual–that you initially didn’t consider, but someone changed your mind. RenRuki (Bleach), to some extent. I usually don’t change my mind on these things, so, even if I don’t ship it, I had to admit they have a cute potential.

C - A ship you have never liked and probably never will. Every ship involving the main character: NaLu, NaruSaku (and to some extent NaruHIna), Eren and Levi or Eren and Mikasa. The list goes on, if it’s the main character, then I probably dislike the ship.

D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t. Again, the canon endgame ship for the main character. I would enjoy the canon contenent and my fandom experience a lot more if I did.

E - Have you added anything cracky/hilarious to your fandom? If so, what? I think you’d have to be rather tumblr-famous to do something like that.

F - What’s the longest you’ve ever been in a fandom? Three-four years. I always go back to Hetalia to roleplay because it’s just so easy to roleplay this fandom, so I never really leave, I always have it tagged on Omegle LoL

G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it? I don’t know? Probably in my YA reading days, but I can’t remember which was my first OTP. If I had to pick a wild guess, probably something in Percy Jackson, like LukexThalia, but I’m not sure, it’s been a long time ago.

H - What is your favorite source text for fandom stuff (e.g., TV shows, movies, books, anime, Western animation, etc.)? Anime and, most recently, manga. But it depends on what it’s easier to find, to be honest. Since I depend a lot on subs (because I can’t always understand spoken english with ease) I found that you can always count on Anime to be subbed, so it’s more a matter of convinence than preference.

I - Has Tumblr caused you to stop liking any fandoms, if so, which and why? I have been active on Tumblr for a short while, but the fanbase made me dislike Supernatural and I’m still enjoying Bleach because I tend to stay away from the fans (guess what they have in common? Crazy and angry shippers)

J - Name a fandom you didn’t think about until you saw it all over Tumblr. The most recent is Demon Slayer and even Haikyuu to some extent. I didn’t know they were a thing until I saw post on tumblr. But I easily give in to what’s popular and sometimes I come to regret my decision (Like watching Game of Thrones).

M - Name a character that you’d like to have for a friend. There’s lots of them!!! In Black Clover, I’d want to be friends with Leopold.

N - Name three things you wish you saw more or in your main fandom. In Black Clover I’m pretty satisfied with what I see. In the show I’d like to see more of my faves. That goes for Tumblr as well. And ships, there’s not a lot of canon ships in Black Clover.

O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of? From my YouTube Mix randomized, God was Never on Your Side (Mothorhead). If you are familiar with the show, that’s really a no-brainer because it played as he died: Jack from Supernatural.

Q - A fandom you’ve abandoned and why. I’ve abandoned a lot. I’ll go with Attack on Titan. The fanbase was rather unpleasant and the plot was going in a weird and boring direction. The same problem with the plot drove me away from Blue Exorcist.

R - Which friendship/platonic relationship is your favorite in fandom?These questions are the worst because there’s so many to chose from. Anything that falls under the ‘found family’ trope tbh.

S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged). If only I had imagination. An headcanon of mine is that Luck is Charlotte’s little brother.

T - Do you have any hard and fast headcanons that you will die defending? Not really? If ships count as headcanon, I’d say that Ikkaku and Yumichika from Bleach are a couple. I also had another in Bleach that was less of an headcanon and more of a ‘I thought this was canon until the manga explained it differently but I like my idea better because it makes more sense’ that is that Rukia, from Bleach, is actually Byakuya and Hisana’s child. I don’t think I have enough room to write my it in details and why I think it makes sense though lol

U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites. Fuegoleon. Do I really need to explain this? Duh. And the last two recent things I read: Byakuya from Bleach. I loved him from the get-go, there’s not really a reason. And from Demon Slayer, Rengoku. I don’t think I can say much about him because the anime still has to cover his arc, but who read the Infinity Train Arc knows. Also, he reminds me a little of Fueggy with his Fire Breathing, he’s kind of a captain (a Pillar) and he motivates everyone.

V - Which character do you relate to most? Lazy characters like Shikamaru or awakard like Kenma.

W - A trope which you are virtually certain to hate in any fandom. Main character slowly succumbing to the dark power he has inside (Naruto - Nine Tails, Natsu - END, Eren - the crack he’s smoking apparenty, Asta - the Demon, Meliodas - his demon power, Also Sasuke -cursed mark even though he isn’t the main character) it’s so overused. When I thought KnY was going in this direction, I was about to drop it - but luckly it didn’t, it was a surprise since it was all about demons but a welcome one.

Y - What are your secondhand fandoms (i.e., fandoms you aren’t in personally but are tangentially familiar with because your friends/people on your dash are in them)? Boku no Hero. I watched only a bit (up to when Bakugo gets taken to the Villans’ hideout I think?). it seems interesting, but I can’t deal with ongoing series (Black Clover is enoguh for the time being).

Z - Just ramble about something fan-related, go go go! Alright this is going to be controversial but sometimes your ships don’t get canon, get over it. I’m so tired of borderline delusional people point out how two characters were so *made for each other* and the author is either 1) homophobic 2) a bad writer (even though y’all liked his writing until the last chapter? Hmmm) 3) clearly manipulated by the editors, he wanted to make X ship canon!!!. And fans really need to stop bashing characters that “get in the way” of their OTP. It’s just pathetic. At the least lose with dignity.

Saw an ask game response abt disliking certain tropes and now i feel the strong urge to overshare my own opinions on that. Here's a list of my most UTTERLY HATED tropes/AUs/etc out there from worst to...less worst. This was rlly difficult cuz I cant think of them til I accidentally see them on AO3 and get all pissy abt it

The A/B/O wolf thingy. Its so dumb to me I'm sorry i just can't follow it and it always gets romantic and sappy somehow. Also I dont understand how wolves work. The more I think abt it the more annoyed I get.

Soulmates AUs. Ugh. Again, sooo sappy and gets SO ooc. The only exception is I once saw (didnt read tho lol) this fic where one of the characters like, kinda rebelled against the soulmate meeting thing, and he said that his eyes change color all the time with different friends. Aka its PLATONIC! SCOORRRRREEEEE! I also recently learned that soulmates AUs are often used to explain ppls pedophilic/incest ships. Disgusting.

OC/self insert fics. I dont have any issue with ppl writing these, in fact its prolly good practice for the beginner writers that make them. Assuming they're all like, 12 y/o kids. Cuz that's the grammar and vocab level in all of them. Also, theyre never very engaging or intriguing, and i never know why I should care abt the main character. I just have absolutely no interest in these fics, sorry.

Sickfics involving like....gross sickness. I get that that's more realistic or whatever but is that rlly what you're going for? This is this just whump and fluff 99% of the time. I dont need a description of [whumped character] throwing up all over the floor. Just like, fucking make them have a dizzy spell or smth; kinda gets the same result. Like are you trying to gross us out? Really?? I make one exception to this rule: throwing up/coughing up blood. That is a whole nother story tho.

Deaging/aging up fics. I dont have a huge problem with these, but I've never been interested. I've heard that this one is also used to make ppls incest/pedophilic ships seem ok, which isnt very cool. I've seen this be used for rlly weird fluff abt like, [said deaged/aged up] having to mother or be mothered by their close friends which I guess is just some weird form of fluff, but like...rlly strange. It's like the filler episode no one liked of fanfics. If it's used as a way to force a characters traumatic past be brought up then ig it's ok since theres some interesting plot, just as long as the character isnt aged down to like..an infant.

Time travel fics. Often used to fix something that happened in canon that the writer is salty about. Usually undoing a character death, or going back to see friends as their younger selves, things like that yknow. Usually hurt/comfort which is cool. I dont have a big problem with these fics, I just find them kinda hard to follow with such a weird perspective (usually the character that travelled back in time). I see a shit ton of these in the one piece fandom, mainly consisting of "luffy goes back in time to save his brothers" or "luffy, after dying before he can reach his goal, gets a second chance and goes to reform his pirate crew". Its always those. Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same stuff for other fandoms but adding "[main character] goes back in time to remeet [character's crush/soulmate/etc] so they can get married" or some sappy shit. Sorry this one is way too long lol.

Slavery AUs. These...ugh ok. These are actually pretty interesting to me, absolutely heart-wrenching and also very sweet in the end. The hurt/comfort angst in these is fucking unreal. My issue with these is they sometimes get super rapey. Starts with idk some kid gets kidnapped + sold into slavery of some sort, then [a lot of the fic being then suffer and be traumatized], and then they are freed. Bonus points for written in epilogue with a healing process and like..found family yknow. It gets fucked up in the suffering part. Way too many of these fics get into like, rape. Which makes sense tbh (god I hate that tho), it just gets too...detailed. like uh hey writer, is this like, a turn on or what? I've stopped in the middle of a few fics, or skip a chapter, cuz I was like dude I cant deal w this. Also dear authors, fucking tag your writing, stop surprising me with shit like this. I should know what I'm getting into before reading it.

Cant think of anything else atm. Might add more later if smth on AO3 catches me off gaurd lol.

I hate myself.

"I think I’m going to be sick."

Summer gripped the counter of the face board in her townhouse, looking over at her manager. "Is it too late to back out?"

Mercedes rolled her hazel eyes. "A little, yeah."

"Shit," Summer cursed, closing her eyes and waving off the woman. "I’ll be fine. Just-give me a few minutes."

"Summer, we’re already-"

"Please."

She sighed and nodded. "Of course."

When Summer realized Mercedes was out of the bedroom and out of hearing distance, she started to do deep breathing.

"You can do this, Summer," she reminded herself. "You made it through Comic-Con. You can do anything. You a boss ass bitch, bitch, bit…..” Her thoughts drifted to the anxiety that accompanied her first Comic-Con appearance. "Shit."

She started to pace back and forth, holding her dress up so that it didn’t brush against the floor.

"And why the hell did I not wear pants?" She groaned with frustration. "Now I have to worry about tripping on my own damn two feet."

She looked over at her phone, grabbing and unlocking it as she read over the last few texts she had with Evans.

"I should have agreed," she murmured, reading the one where he asked for the eighteenth time if she wanted to arrive with him so that she wasn’t alone.

Like an idiot, she’d declined, citing that he couldn’t hold her hand everywhere, and she’d be fine.

Clearly, that was not the case because she was seconds away from ditching the whole thing altogether, contractual obligations be damned.

Tonight was the L.A. Premiere for Age of Ultron, the night where the world would finally see the MCU’s introduction of her character, Storm. Not only was she worried about fandom and critical reactions, but she was experiencing moderate anxiety just thinking about having to walk the red carpet.

They were far from her favorite. She’d started to hyperventilate at the New York premiere of 4AM, and skipped out entirely on the red carpet at the Oscar’s that year.

If not for the alcohol she’d drank during the pre-party, she probably would have hurled or fainted during her acceptance speech that night.

So yeah, Summer didn’t have the best track record when it came to that damn knockoff Aladdin carpet.

She just wished she’d thought more about how stressful this would be for her prior to the premiere.

Even if she wanted to call or text Evans, it was too late. He was already there, probably giving a drunk interview to some poor reporter.

He’d been smart to get drunk a couple hours before so that he wouldn’t be completely buzzed.

"Fuck it," she murmured, gripping her phone and hitting the light switch as she walked out. "Cedes, is it too late to-" Summer stopped in the middle of the hallway and in her sentence.

"Christopher?" He was talking to Mercedes who turned around and stepped to the side, not wanting to get in the way of the two. "What? Did you and Evans decide to do the whole twinning thing?" She joked weakly. His suit was a light gray, sharp, the blue tie a nice contrast to the designer ensemble, and a compliment to his beautiful blue eyes. His hair was short, and he was growing out his facial hair again, something she’d expressed she liked on him. Bottom line, the man looked good.

"Never mind.” She walked over to him, craning her head up and crossing her arms. "What are you doing here? Shouldn’t you be on your way?" Again, before he could say anything. "Shit, I guess I should be too. I’m coming. I swear. I just….my brows!" She gestured to them. "They out here looking like second cousins twice removed. The ghetto."

She shook her head. "Something happened to my first outfit, so we had to go with my backup, and I’m not sure how I feel about it. I feel like it doesn’t flatter my shape, and my boobs! Dude, it’s suffocating them. I couldn’t even wear a bra." Her eyes widened. "Shit, can you tell? You can. Can’t you?" She pressed her fingers against her temple and turned away to head back in her room. "That’s it. I have to chan-"

"Summer." He spoke firmly, reaching for her arm and slowly spinning her back around. Summer finally took note of how he was looking at her, like he was in a trance, like he couldn’t take his eyes off of her even if he wanted to.

She frowned, suddenly uncomfortable with his lingering gaze. "What? Why are you looking at me like that? Stop being weird. I’ll call the SWAT team."

He ignored her remark and moved closer, grasping her hands in his. "Summer-"

"I know my name, Christopher." She rolled her eyes. "Tell me something that I don’t know."

"I don’t think I’ve ever been rendered speechless by a woman, but I honestly cannot tell you what the fuck you just said in the last five minutes because I can’t get over how beautiful you look."

Her jaw dropped before she faltered with a quiet reply. "I was just insulting you and…babbling, I suppose."

"So nothing important," he said plainly. She glared and hit him in his chest before he moved his hands to her hips and pulled her into him. "Sweetheart, do you want to go tonight?"

She shrugged and looked away. "I’d like to not get arrested by the Marvel police."

"That’s not what I asked you." There wasn’t an ounce of humor in his voice or face, a rarity. She didn’t really know how to respond to that, which is why she stayed quiet. "If you don’t want to go, we won’t go."

She looked up at him. "We?" Summer sighed. "Are you crazy, Chris? Can you imagine what kind of trouble you’d be in-"

"Don’t worry about me, Summer," he quickly dismissed, moving his hand to cup the back of her neck. "So again, I ask you, what do you want to do? And I want the truth, Summer."

Summer processed his question. A part of her wanted to go. She’d worked so hard for almost two years, and she deserved to see the product of all her hard work. It was just…she may have underestimated what that product would involve.

Comic-Con was very different from the red carpet where she’d been under constant scrutiny, cameras flashing, being bombarded with questions.

"Hey. Look at me." Summer blinked a few times as she realized she was crying and starting to hyperventilate. He pressed his lips to her forehead and wiped her tears. "Focus on me."

"Don’t tell me what to do, Aussie," she murmured as he kissed her temple one last time before pulling away.

"Get undressed," he instructed, starting to loosen his tie. "God that thing was tight."

"Christopher-"

"I’m sorry, why don’t I see clothes dropping?"

"That’s it. I’m calling Chris Hansen."

"Does this count as bestiality?"

"Wh-what the hell kind of porn do you watch to even know about that?"

"I’d much rather participate." She quipped a brow. "Okay, that’s not what I meant."

Summer laughed and shook her head, further burying herself in his chest, his arm tightening around her. "And stop talking. It’s about to get good.“

"That’s what you said three episodes ago, and-Jesus, are they about to fuck in the morgue?" Summer’s smile widened as she looked up at his mortified expression. "What kind of sick show is this?"

While almost all of LA was at the premiere where she and Chris should have been, they were lying in bed in her place as she forced him to watch one of her favorite shows, Beauty and the Beast.

At first, she couldn’t take her mind off how much trouble they were going to be in. She was as good as fired, and he was going to be replaced with Liam. That was one of her theories. There were many, all of which Christopher only laughed off, kissing her forehead and rubbing her back as he assured her that he’d take care of everything.

It was….strange. How easily they meshed, how comfortable he made her feel. All of the medications in the world couldn’t do for her anxiety what one smile or warm embrace from the Australian could do.

“You know, most of the guys I’ve dated couldn’t understand why I can’t just “get over” this “anxiety shit.” She admitted with a sad chuckle as Chris bit back a cruel remark, replacing it with one not as harsh but equally appropriate.

“Fucking dumbass.”

“That’s what I said,” she smiled and shrugged. “Among…other…crude… and especially cruel things.”

“They deserved it.”

“Agreed, Mr. Hemsworth.” she laughed before licking her lips and taking a deep breath. "Christopher."

"We can finally watch Game of Thrones?"

"Don’t make me stab you."

"Such violence," he sighed, watching how she kept trying to inch closer to him, her body practically on top of his as she laid her head on his shoulder. "Don’t tell me you’re getting soft on me, July."

"It’s so different with you," she whispered, absentmindedly walking her fingers across his defined chest. "You…you make me feel safe." Summer looked up at him with a crooked smile. "Must be an Australian thing."

She gasped as he flipped them, hovering over her, gently kissing her neck. "Or something else."

She chewed on her bottom lip. "Now who’s getting soft?"

He chuckled. "Is that the American word for it?"

"Punk, sucker, loser, sap, chump, pushover,” She listed, taking a shaky breath as he grabbed her wrists, placing them above her head. "Shall I continue?"

"If you wish," he agreed, his eyes softening. "All of them and more….I’ll gladly be for you. Always." She smiled warmly as he ghosted his lips over hers.

"Always is a long time."

"Not when I’m with you."

She lifted her leg, brushing her thigh against his hip. "I am a bit greedy."

He smiled wryly. "Among other things."

Summer felt her stomach knot as she finally found the courage to stop beating around the bush. "And yet you still love me." Chris’s eyes widened slightly. He wasn’t expecting her to directly address his admission so soon. "You better, Hemsworth. I don’t fall in love so easily, especially with Australians."

"Have you been with any other Aussies?" He dropped his elbow to the bed, going to brush his fingers against her forehead.

She pretended to think, flipping them so that she was on top. "I only have eyes for one." He smirked. "God, he was so good in The Hunger Games."

Chris growled, lifting his hand to the back of her neck. "You know I’ll only take but a few more of these references to my brother."

"Do they bother you?" She teased. "Would you like me to stop?" Summer dropped her mouth to his ear. "Make me."

In a second, they’d switched positions again, but this time, he had her on her stomach before he roughly pulled her onto her knees. Summer braced her hands against the mattress when she felt his hand wrap around her throat and moaned as his hand came down hard on her ass.

She smiled.

"Gladly."

Meet The Mods - iftheskyisthelimit

We’ve had a few requests to do something similar to our “Behind The Screens” features in order to introduce ourselves, and we felt that after around a year of running this blog, and having another few people come on board along the way that now would probably be a good time to do it!

The idea is that we’ll each take a turn at filling out and posting one of these so that you guys can to know us all a little better including our own personal tastes/preferences and get a little bit more of an idea of how we all work and what we each bring to the team etc…

How did you find your way to the Thiam fandom? What about them drew you in?

I’d lurked in the Teen Wolf fandom for a while on Tumblr, and became really interested in Theo’s character and his story since he’d shown up in Season 5 (okay at first it was his looks that got me interested… let’s be honest), which evolved into being interested in his backstory when we found out a bit more about him. It wasn’t until his return in Season 6 that I enjoyed watching their characters together and their interactions and started looking around more on Tumblr for their characters that I discovered it wasn’t just me... then I randomly came across the Thiam ship through seeing some fics on Tumblr and found the Official Thiam Library as result of that...

Using a sentence, where the word count is either equal to or less than the number of letters in your two favorite Teen Wolf episode names, tell us about yourself. (ex, Motel California + Werewolves of London = 33 ; Raving + Galvanize =15)

Memory Found + Apotheosis = 21 - I’m slightly quirky but serious, love music, reading and travelling... kinda funny and always overly organised. Can’t ever cut something short...

What’s one thing about you or your life that we’d be surprised to know about?

Do you want serious, interesting or fun facts? I’ll do both as they might surprise people. Serious/boring: I have at least 3 chronic illnesses which tend to floor me, hence my long absences between writing & updating what I’m working on. Interesting: I can speak/read/understand around 5 languages and I’m a bit of a different cultures & sociology nerd.

One other thing I guess is when I get interested in a topic I get interested and have to know aallllll the ins and outs of it and thoroughly research it, so I’m probably full of boring random facts about a bunch of things that come in handy on general knowledge quizzes, but which no-one has any interest in knowing...

Does too many to mention count as an answer? No? Okay… In no particular order *deep breath*

Shows: The Handmaids Tale, Animal Kingdom, The 100, Vikings, Stranger Things, All American, Riverdale, Scream, Supernatural, Parks and Rec, Vampire Diaries, Big Bang Theory, Modern Family, Twelve Monkeys, Shadow Hunters, Game Of Thrones, Reign, American Horror Story, Buffy… There are literally a ton more but I really can’t think on them at the moment….

Movies: I can’t really say that I follow movies per-se… if I had to choose I’d say Marvel movies though if that counts as an answer? Umm… genre wise I like a wide range but mainly gravitate towards comedy, action and thriller movies. Or something with a good twist in the story where it either throws what you thought you were watching on its head, or you get an “aaahhhhh that’s was happening” moment. To watch a horror, it has to have that something that makes me want to watch it or get invested in it… whether it’s a character I really relate to or can get invested in, or a really good story. My favourite horror is probably Haunting In Connecticut, and I saw Midsommar recently and thought it was really amazingly done!

Other Fandoms You Follow:

I don’t really follow a lot of fandoms if I’m honest. I would probably say after Teen Wolf I follow the Marvel, The 100 and Supernatural fandoms more. Mainly the Captain America/Steve/Bucky fandoms. I love a good discussion about Animal Kingdom too!

Uuuuhhhh…. Okay you asked for it, I was going to explain my reasons for why I love each but I’d be here all day and this part alone would end up turning into an essay.

What do you like to create (writing/art/videos)?

I’d really love to be creative enough to make art or videos, but I’m really not! I’m far more comfortable with writing… I find it a lot easier to plan a story, or just to start writing and let the words flow that way and see where it goes. It’s a good way for me to express myself and to work through feelings or to just switch off for a while and create words on a page.

Do you only create for Teen Wolf/Thiam?

I have written for Supernatural in the past and I’m planning to write a Raphael fic for Shadow Hunters at some point and maybe a John Murphy one because I’ve not found many for him that cater to my angsty tastes when there’s so much that can be explored... But at the moment yes it’s only for Teen Wolf. I’ve also posted one Sceo fic which I would like to continue as well!

Which genres do you prefer reading and creating for?

Angst, angst, angst… did I mention angst?? It just feels right to me to write angstier fics, the words and ideas just seem to flow really well, which is a surprise as I’m not really an angsty person in life. It’s just what I’ve always gravitated towards writing and I find a lot better to express myself in that way. I have a humour/angst WIP which I decided to attempt a while ago and I did quite enjoy writing something a little different from what I normally do and people seemed to enjoy it.

If your creative process was a person, what type would they be? What would they do? Wear? Listen to? How do they handle conflict?

Quite probably the most disorganised messiest person alive… No not really… just sorta… kinda… maybe… In all seriousness, they’d be half organised and half “ lets see where this road takes us”. They would probably wear all black all day every day, and be a half emo kid who listens to punk pop and emo music from their teens with a healthy mix of dance and sad songs. Handling conflict? We don’t do that here… we bottle up our feelings and hide them away until they come out in the wrong ways. No really… I think they’d express themselves pretty clearly with 1000 words instead of 100.

How did you find the Official Thiam Library?

I found the Official Thiam Library through searching the Theo Raeken tags on Tumblr and seen the page name pop up a few times, I had a look at the page not long after and followed pretty quickly, I needed my Theo/Thiam fix and this page covered it very well!

First impressions?

“Woah, they’re on the ball!” and then when I saw a few of the events the page done I was really impressed at how often they posted recommendations and how they could organise it all.

How did you come to be involved on the mod team?

I filled in the form for Beta Readers and Helpers for the Thiam Big Bang, I’d have loved to have participated but I didn’t know if I’d have been able to commit to having such a large work completed on a deadline, so I thought I’d offer to help in another way, having helped to run the Supernatural SummerGen for a few years. Tiffany got back to me pretty quickly about it and I came on board at that point.

What do you feel that you bring to the team?

Uuuhhh… I hate these types of questions haha! I really feel like I mostly bring my organisational skills, along with the way that like to try and help out where I can in the background with writing/explaining things or getting back to people with asks/emails etc... With the Big Bang I brought my experience of things I’d learned from the Supernatural events I’d worked on too which I think/hope was of use?

How do you help out?

What would you like to see for the Official Thiam Library over the next year?

I’d really love to see the page continue… continue on as is, doing a few more fandom events, grow as a page and fandom... also to help keeping the fandom going which is important right now I think… we’ve managed it so far though! We were just speaking about how thrilled we are that the fandom is still going strong. I also think it’s important to give older and newer fandom creators the recognition & cheer that they deserve too, which can be done through reblogging/recommendations and different events too.

Cute BTS Questions

Let’s imagine you’ve landed in a Zombie apocalypse, Walking Dead/Zombieland style. You’re among seven survivors–yourself and six characters from Teen Wolf. Which five would be your first choice for survival, entertainment, etc? And who would be the sixth character, the one you’d willingly push in front of a rage-filled zombie mob given the first chance?

I can’t help but feel that my choice for the last part will be unpopular but here goes:

Theo and Chris for survival… they seem like they’d both be good to have around in this sort of situation, Stiles for entertainment because he had his funny moments and would keep everyone going I think. Melissa because we all need a mother figure who knows when to be tough but can also provide you with the loving support you need. Scott because… well… he’s a the alpha and we’d need someone to lead our small group and take charge when needed.

Who would I willingly throw to the zombie mob given the first chance? Allison and Kira are both a tie here. Can’t I throw them both?? I never really liked Allison as a character… I don’t even really know why I just never gelled with her as a character I would like or could even get behind. Kira… ugh… just ugh… I feel like she was quite a forced character, they tried too hard to make her this cooky/funny character who could also kick ass and it just came off wrong to me… I never really warmed to her as she just felt forced.

If you could read only 5 fanfictions for an entire year, which would you choose? Thiam or another fandom, if not Thiam, which fandom?

You are our sensei and us your pupils, can you impart any life/writing wisdom?

Life wisdom: Don’t sweat the small stuff... seriously… it wastes so much time and energy that you could be using for other things. If you can’t control it or you don’t feel it’ll be bothering you this time next year, then don’t let it bog you down. People will come and go, that’s a part of life, take the lessons that they taught you from their time in your life (whether positively or negatively) and use them wisely.

Writing wisdom: Don’t force yourself. If you’re having an hour, a day, or a week where the words or ideas won’t come then don’t force it to happen, you’ll only feel worse. Step back, put on some music which suits the tone of whatever you’re writing and try to get in the mood of your story that way, it’s amazing the words that can come or the complete change in direction you can go from doing that.

Finally, what’s next for you?

Hopefully getting back into the swing of things with the Official Thiam Library and writing more again, getting ready for the Reverse Big Bang, and planning a few things in my personal life, like a few trips, my wedding and a house move (yes… I’m becoming a boring adult and it’s a scary new world!)

I just wanted 2 kno how u felt about these posts saying ppl hate Mary unfairly. And w/ ACW r u going 2 represent that or go a dif direction??? Im super curious and I just wanna know if that’s ok! Also this isn’t meant 2 b hateful/assuming btw!!!

Hey, anon!

It’s okay, I didn’t get that vibe from this anon. I know how I’ve spoken of Mary in the past, and how that can be taken, so it’s alright! That, and I have also been clear about kind of where I stand.

I want to make a disclaimer though: I’m purely expressing my views in this post, and it isn’t meant to cause offense in any way! I’m just a chill person and I don’t have any intentions of zeroing in on anyone for any views on this. I promise I’m not trying to attack anyone or cause drama. I’m just answering you, anon, pure and simple.

And if it does seem that way, I apologize, and assure you that isn’t the case! :,)

I’ve mentioned that I personally don’t like Mary, or at least, how things were between her and Arthur.

I don’t loathe the woman in a sense that I wanted her character to suffer, nor be redacted from the story.

Mary was put in there for a reason, and it not only gave further insight to Arthur as a character, but it helped his redemption and story in certain aspects. I respect her for that, and for certain things she did as well.

I would say the issue I did have with Mary is that she isn’t innocent, but that’s obvious— it’s mainly the reasons why she ain’t and how they affect Arthur.

While she isn’t beating Arthur nor putting him in a position in which he’s forced to help her, she does kind of corner him and know he cares for her in a way that can benefit her in her time of need.

That isn’t necessarily a bad thing in the sense of it validates crucifying her, but it’s kind of how Mary goes about it in certain ways. And how she also treats Arthur for it.

I don’t want to go into specific moments or quotes because it’s all just a mess— but I do want to say this: Mary wasn’t perfect to Arthur, just as Arthur wasn’t perfect for her.

That’s the point. None of these characters are necessarily good, or bad. But their flaws are put at the forefront of what you see, because this series is all about recognizing your flaws and trying to do better by them. To be a better person.

Arthur was a man that came with too many problems. Not necessarily with himself as a man, but mainly with the life he led.

He was an outlaw, and he couldn’t give that up easily. But he wanted to, for Mary.

The timing was just never in their favor.

As for Mary, she didn’t want to admit or realize how bad her father is. She criticizes Arthur but remains blind to her father, and does pin Arthur for what he is when what he is benefits her when she asks for his help.

Additionally, to make note of this too: someone mentioned to me her father does mistreat her (he had a line in which he wished her dead or something along those lines), and it’s sad to see how Mary is in denial about all of it. Her father is just a piece of shit and it’s sad to see how she just writes it off while holding Arthur accountable.

I think a lot of people hate Mary the way they do because of how her interactions with Arthur are because of that criticism. It does appear like usage, and certain things she does are manipulative.

And do some people hate mary for being with Arthur/breaking up with him (the first or technically the second time)?

Yes. Of course.

Personally, I can understand why they didn’t work out. I don’t fault Mary for leaving entirely. I just find an issue in her jaded and contradictory stance on Arthur and that she sided with her father’s notions on Arthur despite all of his hypocrisy.

Now. It’s all taken with a grain of salt.

Because it’s understandable they didn’t work out.

How could they have?

They were teens/young adults who were more caught up in love than to see the problems lying within their relationship. Feelings outweighed reality, and it came crashing down when they acknowledged the problems that were keeping them on two sides of the same fence.

She did care about Arthur. She wanted to run with him, and she insured his grave after he died. And Arthur loved her still, falling right back for her and in general, using his final journal entry to write about her first, and how he only wanted her to be happy.

They cared about each other, even if they never got to to about it right.

As for Mary writing Arthur as she did after Guarma— it makes sense, for both sides!

It can be frustrating for a player to see Mary deject Arthur as she did to return the ring, but how could she have known he got shipwrecked on Guarma like we did? There was no possible way for her to, and so it just looked like Arthur abandoned her and their plans.

Arthur promised her he’d be back, and when he didn’t keep that promise — even if he meant to and was kept from fulfilling it — she broke it off.

She just believed what he did the first time, and that was choosing the gang over her as he did years ago. He even chose the gang over immediately leaving with her.

Just as she stayed with her dad when they initially broke up.

Because they both chose their families in the end— either by blood, or by love.

They were ill-fated. And I don’t think Mary should be attacked as much as she is and especially for certain things or in certain ways, but the dislike isn’t unwarranted.

And people can like her too, just the same!

Everyone is allowed their own opinion of her character (not saying anyone insinuated otherwise).

There’s a difference between disliking a character for valid reasons, or hating them for minuscule ones. And the same goes for loving them.

We can argue back and forth for ages but honestly, none of us are entirely in the wrong or right on Mary.

Like I said, it’s what you usually see. People either hate Mary with a passion, or love her with just as much depth. The middle ground here is often a vacant one, at least from what I’ve seen shared.

It’s just how it is. But I think we can all agree that how things ended was what neither of them wanted for each other.

Now— as for “Amidst a Clash of Worlds”!

I DO plan on having Mary in my fic, and as for her portrayal, I will keep her character as close to canon as possible (but I will have to go astray at certain points just since this fic does diverge from canon).

I’m not going to write with a slant with her character (aka portray her purposefully in one light), and I plan on doing her justice as I’ve attempted to with everyone else in my fic. Meaning keeping her true to as we have seen in the game and not completely going my own direction entirely.

As for her interactions with Arthur and the reader, you will see the true extent of this.

I don’t want to spoil the plans I have for their plotline entirely, but it won’t all be “fuck Mary” or “fuck you” with Mary being either attacked or an attacker against the reader.

Granted, there will be tension and other aspects involving it, but I promise, if you are worried, that this fic intends to do so much more with Mary’s character than to go forward with nothing but a sole attempt at villainously portraying her.

Whether that is accepted or not does not bother me, but ACW is not a fic in which I plan to be frivolous or superficial over things like how I feel about a character.

I’m not tossing Mary’s character and her relation to Arthur and his story away because of my own views on her or with the fandom’s views (be it good or bad).

I just want it to be organic and believable. Nothing more!

KakeraTale: an UT AUs X Umineko crossover AU

*Slams door opens* Guess who's dipping her ass to the UnderTale fandom again??? :D

Anyway, it ain't be me of there's no crossover involved in here so let us get to the point of this post, shall we? >w>

So I was browsing the UnderTale AUs until I found Ink and Error (the latter is rediscovered cuz I liked ErrorTale when I was in High School). After I look further on them, I was like "How are you two not Witches yet?!" (The Umineko kind, mind you. I have not enough creativity to create the Madoka Magica kind). Then I remember there is Umineko crossover but it's only, like, one pic and it's Asriel, Chara, and Gaster. So I decide to make one exclusive to the sanses AUs.

Now behold this new UnderTale (Underverse? Cuz it involves the UT AUs?) X Umineko crossover AU: KakeraTale!

I was gonna call it UmiTale but it's focused more on the Kakera/Fragment concept - which is also present in Higurashi - rather than Umineko's general storyline although a lot of concepts here (Witches, Furniture, etc.) are mostly taken from Umineko.

Now let's us delve into what this AU is about

Characters

Lord Ink, Witch of Creations and Compilations: Ink is a kind of Witch who creates stories. His rank is that of a Creator Witch. Instead of drawing though, he creates them through writing its storyline like one would write a book. His paintbrush is replaced with a quill pen. He mostly compiles other people's stories in books, hence the 'Compilation' part in his title although there are large portions of it are his own creation. Some of his books - stories created by his own or compilated from other people's - are picked by the Great Lady Featherine Augustus Aurora, a fellow Creator Witch, and stored within the City of Books. Due to him mostly compiling instead of creating on his own, his position is a tad lower than Featherine's.

Lord Error, Witch of Erasure: Error would be a Voyager Witch, the kind who wanders from one Kakera to the other within the Sea of Fragments. While he's not aa malevolent as his original counterpart, this particular version of Error has a job on what he called as "cleaning game boards". He would either tamper or straight up destroy a game board (and sometimes Kakera) he deems unworthy or abandoned. Though he mostly respects active Game Masters in leaving their properties alone, that doesn't stop him from messing around with their game boards. One particular hobby of him is "collecting game pieces", in which he would steal someone's game piece and keeps it as his own, usually forcing the original owner to recreate said piece again for their own. His current collection of game pieces are all consisted of Sans pieces, as it seems to be his favorites. He retains his blue string ability.

Blueberry, the Witch of Erasure's Furniture: Originally from the UnderSwap game board, this version of UnderSwap Sans is taken by Lord Error from one particular Genocide Run Kakera rather than straight from its primary game board. At first treated as another game piece by the Witch of Erasure, his resilience in befriending and understanding him earned him a close position to the Witch and thus becoming his Furniture. Prior to this, however, lend him a terrible situation where he endlessly float in the Sea of Fragments in an "And I Must Scream" kind of situation before being rescued.

Lord Geno, Witch of Hopelessness: Domain Witch, Game Master, and owner of the AfterTale game board. Originally a normal Sans, he raised to the realm of Witches after discovering the concept of SAVE and RESET through overuse of determination. In an attempt to amend what happens to his past, he challenges the Witch Chara in hope on defeating them. However, despite being a Game Master, he's always beaten by Chara thus starting an endless loop of trying and failing to defeat them. Growing desperate, he resolves in coercing his own game piece to win the game for him. When this is proven futile, he almost consider to abandon his own game, putting the game into a halt.

Sans the Game Piece: A game piece within the AfterTale game board. This particular game piece managed to retain memories of the previous game session within his own world. At first reluctant on winning the game for his Game Master due to what he deemed as selfish reason, he finally willing to help him after witnessing what cruel moves the opponent have under their sleeves.

Storywise

While I'm not planning to make an all out story for this particular AU (considering I have to maintain and memorize the storylines of bajillion other AUs I have), I envision it having at least two arc, Error-Blueberry arc and AfterTale arc.

The E-B arc would focus on how Lord Error 'steal' Blueberry and the latter's tale in raising from just a mere stolen game piece to the Witch's close friend and Furniture as well as Error's rivalry with Ink. Error and Ink's backstory would also be explained in this arc.

The AT arc starts with how Geno becomes a Witch. It later focuses on the struggle in his own game board against his opponent Chara with the help of the now 'slightly more than just a game piece' Sans. Gaster may or may not involved in this particular game board.

Info on Relationships

Error & Ink: I would describe their relationship similar to Bernkastel and Lambdadelta, with Error being the more cynical Bern and Ink being the energetic Lambda. Despite their severe rivalry, they may or may not actually love each others.

Error & Blueberry: At first their relation is strained as Error only sees Blueberry as an object rather than a person, being a game piece he is. However, Blueberry wants to understand Error and stubbornly tries to approaches him despite the other stolen game pieces' warnings. His stubbornness gets into Error's nerve, culminating in an argument that leads Blueberry trapped in the Sea of Fragment, doomed to float endlessly in there unable to move. Error later misses the poor sod, though, and manages to rescue him despite the difficulty. He later decides to keep him close and makes him his Furniture, lower than Witches but slightly better than game pieces. Their friendship improves after that.

Ink & Featherine: Both are fellow Creator Witches. Ink often approaches Featherine to talk about his books. If a book of his is seen as sufficient, Featherine would put it in the City of Books among other books.

Error & Bernkastel: Both hold an antagonistic contempt against each other. As the result, Error would usually be agitated and prone of outbursts around her.

Error & Lambdadelta: While still sees her warily, Error remarks that at least she's better than Bern in some aspect and, as the result, the worst treatment he ever give to her is just avoidence.

Geno & Sans: Sans is Geno's game piece and thus usually moves according to his Game Master's whim. However, meeting the Witch directly leaves him in a bad taste and starts deviating from his master's action. Geno views him as nothing more than an object, a mere game piece. When the opponent's moves starts to becoming brutal and unpredictable, Sans finally agree to cooperate with Geno despite still retaining freedom in his every steps.

Geno & Chara: Both sworn enemy from the moment Geno became a Witch. The hatred from all suffering Chara inflicted to him leads him to challenge them in his own turf, hoping to win against them. One could say Chara feeds of Geno's suffering during their game sessions.

Geno & Ink: Early game sessions of Geno's board were sponsored by Ink before the latter revoked it. This left Geno desperate to find a new one as the game board couldn't continue with no sponsor to oversee it.

Geno & Error: Error was the first to encounter the recently witched Geno.

❍ ─ hey dudes !! i feel pretty hype to be here. i’ve been rewatching gg for the past three weeks and pretty much neglecting my creative side/avoiding all of my writing friends. i was rping in another fandom on discord and i just started to lose inspo, y’know that flame was starting to blow out. on a whim i decided to check out the rp tag on tumblr again ( i haven’t rped on tumblr since 2016 btw ), and whaddya know, the second post i see is from a gossip girl rp. ─ could’ve been a coincidence, could’ve been a sign ?? idk. point is that i’m here !! and i’m really hoping to fall in love w/ writing again.

ok, lemme introduce you to a boi i made up 48hrs ago.

A LITTLE MORE OOC

// so um, FUNNY STORY, when i joined i was planning to fill up a connection from another roleplayer here as their brother, but they were gone as soon as i was i accepted looooool. so now i lack a sibling and i took their last name. ah well, gotta make due with what you’ve got i guess.

THE SKELETON

.･:*:･ﾟ’ twenty one, cismale, roderick bordeaux was made in the upper east side and attended st. jude’s. he still resides in new york, and is currently a model who progressively grown weary of his profession. they are staying up til’ 4am laughing at memes, mischievous looks, suggestive stature, eccentric humor, silk tuxedos. onlookers say they resemble shawn mendes. ( al, 19, idc, cst. )

FROM THE BEGINNING

roderick grew up with two older siblings and two very wealthy parents.

his family is very popular in the social scene of manhattan, we’re talking generations on both sides of their family.

they’ve always kept up appearances and have made bountiful donations to noble and not so noble causes.

his father ( lawrence ) is exemplary businessman and his mother ( keighley ) is a retired actress who’s found her life as a socialite a “profession” on its own.

his relationship with his parents had its moments of toxicity and neglect but overall he’s never been resentful towards them as he realized the privileged life they handed to him and his siblings.

rick has always had a penchant for doing stupid things and getting away with it. he gets bored easily !! but to be clear his intentions are usually positive. his parents barely know of his ventures, they’re not very interested in GG to keep up with it either. he is the youngest─ he gets off the hook a little easier than his siblings do. you bet your ass they envy that.

he’s always been academically inclined, but school was never really his priority. he spent most of his time at constance with his friends. he’s a social butterfly at heart, and he wasn’t one to stick to cliques. basically getting along with almost anyone. always open to making more connections with people. doesn’t mean he lacked his fair share of enemies.

up until then he was unaware of any other type of life. party, fun, drama and the occasional responsibility. things took a bit of a turn after high school though.

BEFORE THE FALL

first of all, his ex-girlfriend’s-mother married into his family. holidays already came with the uncomfortable “greeting family you haven’t seen for months to years on end” how the hell are you supposed go about it─ “oh hey we’ve rubbed genitals together, we’ve hated each other for a while and now we’re cousins, want a turkey leg” ??

second, his father wanted college, roderick didn’t, but obliged after his father threatened to freeze his accounts.

for three years, he attended harvard, likely due to his parents connections i might add─ he almost claimed the title of a lit major, but in retribution for a new revelation about his parents, he quit.

WHAT GG DOESN’T KNOW....YET

in his third year of college rick picked up a course in theater, dance and media, partially due to the crush he had on another student. during his attendance he met a classmate who he quickly befriended. one evening she invited him to her birthday party, and to say it changed his world would be an understatement.

after spending more time with her and her family, he felt strangely attached to them, he desired the type of relationship she had with her parents. and soon enough the universe offered him a truth that could make that a reality.

turns out his parents weren’t really his parents. rick was involved in a tangled plan filled with lies and deception. ─his close friend from college ?? was his sister.

this was a lot to take in for rick, he had an entire genealogy that he didn't know about, and they were seemingly everything he wanted in a family. of course this was conflicting. he loved the people he grew up with unconditionally, but his loyalty wavered the more the truth was uncovered.

A GENERATIONAL FEUD

his “parents” didn’t even want him, they were blackmailed by his biological grandmother ( thalia ) to keep him away from his biological parents. his grandmother disapproved of his biological father ( lloyd ) and wanted nothing to do with him or his family.

her distaste was unwarranted however, completely biased. her issues were purely against his mother ( harlow ). they have toxic history together, and share a hatred for each other. so much so that they put aside their disagreements to work together. there was no way in hell harlow would share her surname and it’s perks with thalia’s offspring. and thalia wasn’t planning to have a familial tie with harlow.

harlow promised to take away lloyd’s life of luxury if he married rick’s mother ( rowan ).

thalia called for some favors owed, and successfully managed to manipulate rowan and set her grandson up for “adoption”.

unfortunately for the high class devil’s their game only played out for a few months, lloyd and rowan loved each other too much to let go. the loss of a child and the loss of luxury wasn’t enough to keep them apart.

they eloped against their parents wishes, and lost everything. by their early twenties, they were no longer royalty of manhattan, they were “nobody’s”. practically disowned. if it meant they cut ties with their sadistic families, it was fine by them.

rick’s biological parents searched for him, for years, they almost divorced as a ploy to get information from their parents, but it lead them to more questions than answers. it was eventually a mutual decision to end their search, the pain was too overwhelming to continue.

call it fate, who would’ve thought the search would end with academic career and their daughter.

CURIOSITY KILLED THE CAT

understandably, rick was extremely upset with his “parents” and ultimately detached himself from them.

he quit school, and disconnected himself from most of his friends for a while. it was necessary to go over his options alone. and soon enough he planned an intervention. in four months time, he planned to expose his parents in public at an uptown charity event honoring them.

he told four of his closest friends about his strategy requesting for a helping hand, and they willingly accommodated him.

all except for one. one of the four ratted him out before he could pull it off. and his “grandmother” ( genevieve ) was informed and immediately warned thalia and harlow of the proposition.

they took matters into their own hands, and made things very personal. suddenly grandma genevieve wasn’t as sweet as she had been.

rick’s ex-girlfriend-now-cousin was instructed to seduce and drug him in his loft, if she failed to follow through, her mother would suffer the consequences.

with much hesitation she compelled. and on an odd night out she convinced him to catch up, and eventually got him drunk enough to have him pass out on his couch. she called their grandmother right after and waited 10 to 15 minutes for a sign to leave. there were a few stern knocks on the door by two men in very posh tuxedos, she was conclusively excused by their entrance.

THE SECRET GOSSIP GIRL KNOWS

his cousin-ex-lover left his loft around booty call hour. lacking a walk of shame... but stamped with a very guilty face.

off schedule─ his housekeeper arrived to his loft a bit earlier than usual, having much to do that day. her extended family was coming in from out of town for a familial celebration. and we all know how important family is, don’t we?

she suspected rick was working early as well, and went down the list of her duties. her first priority was his restroom, as he generally left wet towels on the ground after his morning showers. however the only elements she found were scattered pills and emptied bottles on his bathroom floor, along with rick... in a bathtub filled with water looking a little too pale.

with a disheveled 911 phone call, she preformed crucial CPR, and an ambulance shortly arrived─ rick was sent to the hospital to have his stomach pumped, and the bordeaux’s made a private entrance, feeling troubled with emotions of guilt and regret.

in recovery rick denies the suicidal accusations but was sequentially sent to a rehabilitation center against his will.

he spent his summer in connecticut, and his family lied to keep press away from their charity event. to what the public knows, rick pursued his modeling career further and traveled through europe for the summer.

AT A CROSSROADS

all forms of communication were taken away from rick, and he spent most of his time at rehab trying to reach out by bribing his nurses.

one of his nurses fell into his bribe and let him make contact with his cousin. out of fear she confessed and delivered his SOS to their grandmother.

sooner or later, his grandma showed up─ grandma.. thalia. to most and to gossip girl? a stranger.

she proposed a settlement with roderick, he was to forget about his biological family and continue mingling in his social circle as if nothing ever happened for exchange of his freedom and his family’s freedom.

he begrudgingly agreed to it, and flew back to new york with built up resentment and a thirst for retaliation.

he’s back home now, as if nothing ever happened. last he heard his biological family tried to invite him to their halloween feast. but no word after that.

as of now, his course of action is to figure out what “bestie” ratted him out. what did thalia, harlow or even genevieve have on them. and what could he do about it ??

if all attempts fail, we still have gossip girl.

I just don't think cats would like saltwater bc it tastes bad, is mildly poisonous, and it feels weird if you let it dry. imagine trying to groom yourself after a saltwater bath! yuk!

thus they breed cats who will go in saltwater but only if they are ASSURED of getting a freshwater bath afterward, and will plague you if you don't give them one

ok so I know the absence of dragons is the big joke but I think you'll appreciate the name a lil more (like i do) bc it has to do with some nerdy lore/worldbuilding: there used to be a lot of dragons around but they went extinct a long time before the first game starts.... then, after many years, some dragons are spotted again! Also, they study their history by dividing it into period and eras (like we do). (1/2)

(2/2) So the authorities that be end up naming the game's current period/age as the "dragon age"... so a misleading name for a game with few dragons hahaha but idk I'm attached to it :') and we get to see more dragons as the game progresses, so I hope that means they are thriving <3

ppl talking about fandoms will be like “its better to have your own tiny group” & like yeah, interacting w 20-some ppl who u can make personal friends with is gonna be better than what you’d get out of trying to deal w like...One Million ppl at random all the time.....but like on a Personal Perspective i don’t even go for the “small groups is good” thing anymore

like i’d look back on the ol mh days pre Slender Game when it was for real like. idk 30ish ppl #onhere. and truly those were some good times but like in recent years i’ve been realizing that for me...the part about it being a group of ppl having fun together.......was not so much my exact experience

like that wasnt so much anything to do with the ppl involved as it was that, for me personally, Trying To Get On With A Group Of Ppl Of Any Size = ending up in the bleachers and going “yeah” and chatting w the ppl who sometimes like to wander off from the main group. i mean i sat at the empty losers table in middle school where even ppl i’d known for like, five years were taking my math homework & then ditching to hang out w the cooler tables. i was socially rejected in pre-k. it’s my whole Thing

anyways yeah focusing in on it more it was like oh wait i didnt really have fun w the group itself as much as i did with stuff i did more solo. and my experience w/ other ppl being (virtually) around was more along the lines of like, seeing that other ppl were able to have wider appeal w/ basically anything they did, having to deal w the fact that i hated a few ppl but couldn’t really do anything abt it w/o it being weird since everyone knew everyone, feeling bad about the fact that there was certain things that Everyone Was In On that i wasn’t which is just like, ok then....thanks

ov course i didn’t like it any more than i already did when suddenly there was like a hundred ppl dropped in overnight, but it was at least a different kind of disappointment. and i could sidle off to my own corner and be like “let me just finally block ppl i hate” and also realize that some ppl i didnt hate i just also didnt like that much actually and that’s fine

also i didn’t draw too much content for mh so that was another reason i couldnt trick ppl into consistently paying attention to me. its a hell of a series to try to make art for, what with its Particular Glitchy Film medium & its “wandering in the woods At Night” aesthetic & the fact so much was tied up in non-visual elements, & only occasionally glimpsing other characters including the protagonist. the art ppl Did make is super impressive tbh i still follow a few artists from back then, who happen to continue to be even more amazing, unsurprisingly

also i’m still in touch w some ppl from the mh days, mainly on twitter, and they’re great and i’ve always appreciated them a bunch so that’s nice. it’s also funny coz they’re some of the buddies i’ve had for the longest, along w some ppl from college who i was also getting to know at about the same time actually

anyways the point is that nowadays i realize what i like, and what i tend to like is to deal strictly with random individuals i coincidentally start talking to and then only become friendly acquaintances with some of them, and just do my own thing w the full understanding that i don’t even want enough friends for a group chat or something b/c that sort of thing just doesn’t work for me. like...even w fandoms that are already smaller and weirder than others, i avoid getting involved in Group Things, yknow. keep those chat servers over there and i’ll pass on the zines and weeklong events and xmas trades & finally not have to feel bad because i’m trying to fit into a lil structure of socializing where im not comfortable & have to go “well i guess everyone else is just fundamentally better than me”

I am so, so sorry for how things went. I so wish we would have stayed closer in this game because we could have done great things together! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for our conversations before you went because without them I would not have flipped to protect Colin. You were our guardian angel. Jodi: Dennis, you truly were the one to watch this season, because your reads and intuition were amazing. That’s why I aligned with you, because I like working with other thinkers. I’m really sorry that I voted you out that round, because I knew that if I were to strike, I could not miss with you. I rightfully knew that you had something really good, in not just 1, but 2 idols. After going for 15.5 hours on that Hunt, I knew that the only person that could’ve beaten me was you. You pushed me to be a better player and you definitely made it a very tough hill for me to climb to get to this point. I’m not sure if you gave me your vote this time, and I understand if you didn’t, but I adore your love for the game and I hope that next time we can align and blaze through some games. I give you props for figuring out my game so early on and you were the one that kept me on my toes and pushed me to play harder. Brayden, you were incredible in this game and I kept trying to see if you wanted to flip with me with some hints haha but you were closer with Jodi. Congratulations on graduating and on being Anastasia’s best friend! I loved getting to know you and working with you. I’m so sorry it ended the way it did. Jodi: Brayden, I severely underestimated you in this game, even though I knew that you were going to be incredible since you’ve played before. When we met up at the merge, I was so grateful to have you be somebody I could bounce ideas off of. Anastasia and I said this later in the game, but you two and me and Jared should’ve come and done a 4-person alliance and rip through the late game. You were such a loyal ally and I really hope we get to play again some time.

Elle: You have a very rational and sort of quietly analyzing mind that I noticed almost immediately and knew that I'd want you on my side, not only because I'd love to be allies with someone like that, but because I knew as an enemy you could easily be a death sentence.I appreciated your love for Survivor and lived in fear of a super idol since the first moment you mentioned their existence 😂. You played your role in the game to perfection and people are mad about it just because you were never actually on the bottom. I’m sorry I had to vote you out because they made me force my hand. I love you to death and I am so glad we got to play this game together. Having this opportunity showed us that we can absolutely do this again and I will be your goat next time we play together. Elle: Colin 🥺🥺🥺💗 When I say I literally almost gave up on this game when you left (Amy can testify). We were a little devious team and it was so much funnn, Amy was the double agent super spy, you were the person on comms with all the connections and gadgets, and I was the nerd in the van planning out the heist routes and typing really fast until I look up really dramatically and say, "I'm in".Also here's the list of book reccs you asked for✨:

The Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson, it’s a mysteryyyy and it's a lot of fun! A fun little cast of characters to get attached to ^_^

The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, I mentioned this one before, it's a classic but you can read it in one sitting And it's funny. We love to see it💕 Plus it's pride month and we love Victorian era gay poet/playwright/authors.

Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, Look. This book is amazing, it is queer🏳️‍🌈 (mlm protag relationship but also way more queer characters), it is well written, it's romantic as hell, it's spicy, I don't know how to describe how good it is I'm getting emo thinking about it read ittttttt 💖 (Casey McQuiston also has a new book out with a wlw relationship and we also love to see thattt✨)

I'll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson. Okay soooo this isn't a mystery, but I feel like people into mystery novels would enjoy the way the plot unravels. Also I love this book. That is all ^_^ Also it is queer as well🏳️‍🌈, mlm relationship.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson. Haven't read it, but from what I know about it and what books you said you were into and it's acclaim/reputation, I think you'd be into it.

Amy: 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭!!!! I won’t even lie here before writing this I spent 20 minutes crying thinking about seeing you at FTC because I am just so sorry. I wanted to sit next to you as you won and I feel like I let you down. I am so sorry for how that round went. I was MAD mad after. When you said you, me, Elle F3 I was all in and when I lost you I made it my mission to get both Elle and myself to the end in your honor. I also regret not grabbing drinks with you in KC because that would have been absolutely hilarious even if our planned tribe fight didn’t pan out hahaha. I loved every second of working with you in this wild game. Your social game is incredible and I am so thankful to you for doing everything you did. I’ll never forget sitting on a 20 minute call with Brayden and Jodi about voting you out, hanging up, and immediately calling you to plan how to keep you safe. Sorry I didn’t tell you about the tricks up my sleeve, too. Thank you for making this game so fun to play that I ignored my family in Disney World. All my love ❤️

Jodi: Colin, I wasn’t quite sure what direction to go with this, but I’ll just be open and honest. I really did want to play this game with you, but after realizing the true threat of you having all of Dennis’ stuff (which was correct), I had to get rid of you not because I didn’t want to play, but just because I wanted my game in my own hands, and with 3 immune advantages, you were able to cruise from F7 to F4 with no risk. Sort of like James in China, you have to blindside them before they cruise to F4. That’s one less guaranteed spot for everybody, and I didn’t want to rely on whether you liked me enough to keep me around. For the same reasons that you were upset with Jared and Jay, I too, did not want to play somebody else’s game. I wanted to put my game in my own hands and that’s what I did. You were not supposed to go at F7, we were just trying to get rid of your idol. I was hoping you’d appreciate the gameplay that I was not willing to rely on riding coattails and be in someone else’s good graces to keep me around. Hopefully I’ve explained this well enough during FTC as well. I had no ill will, just wanted to play my own game, not somebody else’s. For the record, if I didn’t make it back into the game or got voted out again with you at the end, I was going to vote for you to win. You pushed me to play harder and be a better player because I knew you would not be easy to outwit and outplay. I’ve told many people this and I can respect and appreciate being outplayed.

Elle: Joshhhh, my buddy 💔 I'm really sorry you got rocked out, Amy and I were willing to take the risk of being rocked out but we didn't tell you because you had voted for Colin the round previous. To be clear we were still willing to work with you, but the wound was kind of fresh and it seemed silly to give you sensitive information at the time. You did get past F8 this time! You are an absolutely incredible player which made me cautious and frustrated at times haha! Love your energy and I am manifesting that you get a new job that you absolutely love because you deserve it!

Jodi: We had such an incredible story arc to our games. We weren’t close on Phantom, got in touch on SEES, then grew apart again before my vote out, pulled off a beautiful move at F7, and continued to work together until you got rocked out at 6. You were the surprise blessing to my game. When you approached me at F7, I found light in my game again. You had the same agenda as I did, with the same intentions and same concerns. You gave me a real chance to reintegrate into this game and I’m so happy and grateful that you decided to trust me. On top of that, your energy and personality was super fun and I’m glad we got to have fun writing each other’s names down a couple times. I treasured your trust in me a lot and I really wanted to play to the end with you. I think you’d win the game if you were in my spot today. I hope we continue to be friends and good luck with your new game.

Elle: Thank you for remembering my birthday before Raffy reminded everyone 💛 that was very sweet and in my introduction I literally said if anyone remembered it I'd love them forever and then I proceeded to be on opposing sides with you… oops!

Granted, it wasn't really on purpose, I just happened to not be in that alliance of six people and that happened to kind of decide how lines were drawn for the rest of the game in a way.

Impressed with your sudoku skills, being on a tribal call during graduation (congrats again!), and with your coolheadness, if I had an idol while that chaos one was played you bet I'd be playing it 😂 you had a really good game and I hope you think so too ^_^
