ok can i please ask what your blog title means

adfksdkj honestly it’s so old it’s from like 7th grade but!! to go more in depth than you were probably asking for, harvey milk was the first gay man to hold elected office in california (maybe all of the usa??) when he was on the board of supervisors in san francisco. he and george moscone, the current mayor of san fracisco, were shot and killed by their former coworker and ex cop dan white (who killed moscone over politics, milk over politics and probably some hate crime thrown in). if you’ve ever heard of the twinkie defense, it originated in this trial! dan white plead insanity on the idea that he was depressed from eating too much junk food, and it worked. he got off with like 6 years in prison bc he was only convicted of manslaughter, even after point blank shooting two men.

i read a harvey milk biography in 7th grade (mayor of castro street by randy shilts, if you’re looking for book recommendations! it can be a little boring, like all biographies, but it did make me sob in the middle of algebra) which (a) introduced me to the concept of acab and (b) made me incredibly furious. i had seen vintage pins that said “avenge oscar wilde” but like lol oscar wilde dug himself into his own pit and was antisemitic. harvey milk was jewish and brutally assasinated and i felt that he needed avenging more. i haven’t had a better title in mind since then, so it’s here to stay!
