Today I had a patient that went downhill pretty fast during the operation, and I spent each and every minute of the next 2 and a half hours trying to keep them alive (and I did, they are fine and recovering in the ICU as of now) so naturally I called the attending to let her know about the situation. And she just peeked into the OR, nodded, and left. And yeah I felt like I had it under control, but still, it made me so much more confident in my abilities that she trusts me this much. She's a really great attending, but many times she doesn't trust the younger residents, so coming from her, it meant a lot to me

It probably wasn't a conscious decision, or maybe it means I should be way past this level already, but nonetheless I decided to count it as a win because I need more positivity in my life
