So my brain is having many thoughts- you get to receive them now
In every story there’s a villain and a hero.
The villain always has a reason behind their actions. They don’t just turn evil for no reason. This story just happens to have 3 different reasons for one person.
Uncontrollability
Revenge
Realisations
Our villain didn’t understand. Then they found them set back with revenge. Now they know it’s what they had to do all along
Why bother trying to fix everything when you were meant to do the opposite?
The hero in this story only did what he had to in order to fix their wrongdoings. Our hero focuses too much on others and not enough on himself.
Our hero was their brother.
In this story, the hero and villain were brothers.
Some referred to them as Icarus and Rae Morningstar.

All Mark ever wanted was love. He would give anything to get it. His parents hardly ever gave him attention, far too busy with keeping up appearances in a rich social network to pay much mind to a child, so he found support in his friends. He found ways to keep them entertained and got a rush everytime he made them laugh. Still, it was never enough.
Soon, his friends are grown, and disappearing into lofty careers. No time for Mark's antic. So, he dedicated his life to acting it. It's not a profession his parents would ever approve of, but that doesn't matter anymore.
"Give up trying to please your parents," the casting agents say "and audiences will love you for the rest of your career."
And Mark believed them.
The admiration of adoring audiences is all very well, but it didn't fill the hole for long. Those strangers loved his characters. They would never care for him. Then, an old friend wandered back into his life. Celine. Beautiful, clever, witty. Her smile outshone that of a thousand theater goers. It didn't take long before she became his world.
"Give up acting and marry me," She said "and I will love you till death do us part."
And Mark believed her.
But the sweet honeymoon period quickly faded. Light hearted jabs turned to deep cutting insults, discussions turned to heated arguments. Soon, he was alone in a house too big and too full of memories for one person.
Well...almost alone.
Because there was something else with him. Something that had to always been with him. Watching, waiting. On long dark nights, he would wander aimlessly talking to himself, and sometimes he would find something talking back.
"Give up everything," It said "and I will love you until the end of time."
And Mark believed it.

Fit lore has so much potential. I want him to be a villain so BAD.
I want to see him contemplate and angst over making a decision between his job and his friends SO BAD. I want him to spend days mulling over it. I want him to pick his job. I want him to regret it, but not go back on his decision.
I want him to be pinned as a traitor. I want him to be HATED.
I want tubbo, who always called him sus but trusted and relied on him more than he realised, to be DEVASTED. The ugly crying, denying reality devastated like when he was talking to forever that the eggs were missing.
I want pac to be MAD. Absolutely furious. I want him to go batshit crazy, finally letting loose and dead set on killing Fit as soon as he sees him again, betrayed and so, so hurt. I want Mike to be smug but also hurt to know it was really true. I want Phil to be distraught, questioning his own mind even more.
I want Fit to not be able to look at his friends anymore, not look as his son and call them his family anymore. I want Ramon to feel betrayed, but also still believe in him because that's his Dad over there, and he can see he's hurting, but he's not saying anything or explaining or helping himself and it's just going to get worse for him!-
I want Fit to betray his employer right at the last moment. I want him to choose his friends and make the right choice. I want it to be too late when he does, when everyone has already been hurt and the bond, the trust and the relationship that was once there is broken.
I want it so bad.

Someone let Kai have the braincell and they chose violence, now it is everyone's problem
TW: Character Death, Slight Panic, Self Hatred(?) Icarus gasped as the sword pierced their body, they jerked forwards as it was yanked out of them. Centross stepped back and turned it over in his hands. "You know I didn't want to do that, Icarus. But you made me."
They fell to their knees and clutched their stomach desperately trying to stop the bleeding. "Wh.. Why?…" They coughed up blood violently.
"Don't act like you don't know. You've said it yourself, you're a failure. All you manage to do is make mistakes. I mean, you'd think you'd stumble upon the right choice at least once in your life but gods you managed to beat those odds, haven't you?" He used the tip of the blade to lift their chin so they would look at him. He smiled at them.
A sob tore itself from Icarus' throat, they couldn't speak. Their throat felt so tight it was like someone was suffocating them. They stared into his eyes, purple tendrils of corruption snaked all over his face.
"I could make it quicker. But you don't deserve that, do you?" Centross tilted his head. Icarus shook theirs. They knew they didn't. They knew they deserved a slow, painful death. He was right after all. They're just a failure. "It's okay, Icarus. You're finally helping everyone."
"..I-…" Icarus forced the word out, it was pathetic really. Pitiful even. They could barely even get their last words out.
"I'm sorry, truly. I didn't want you to hate me too, friend" Centross pushed the tip of the sword against their throat.
"I don't… hate you. You're…" Icarus swayed, their eyes fluttering closed for a moment. "still my best friend..."
Something in Centross snapped. He pulled the sword away and stepped back. "What-" He looked around, "What did I…" He looked at Icarus as they fell to the side. He dropped his sword and rushed to them but didn't dare touch them. "Ic- Icarus! Icarus, shit- shit, shit I didn't- what did I do?! I'm sorry," He carefully shook them but they didn't respond. He felt for a pulse. "Icarus?.."
Nothing.
"David?.." A quiet voice came from behind him. He turned around and saw the soul of Icarus. "It's okay," They smiled. They looked happy. Genuinely happy. "This is for the best, isn't it?"

its about devotion its about what if we both worshipped someone, gave our lives to them, and had it all turn to ash what if we knew we had to change, or be destroyed what if we found that choice difficult what if we took the "right" path? what happens to our devotion? we've spent so long worshipping and now we are godless, we are blasphemers what if we found each other? we saw the devil in each other, pitted against each other by a fate that was determined by the gods themselves. what if we worshipped each other as an act of rebellion against the people we used to be? what then? would we love each other? would we undo each other? would we deserve the outcome? of course we would. but that does not mean the outcome will be kind, or loving, it simply means the outcome will be born of us, not of gods, and we will walk backwards into whatever hells await us, hand in hand

I think if tpodg adaptations want to have a plausible way to 'redeem' Dorian or give him a more 'sympathetic' character arc after he murders Basil, then instead of forcing a love-interest on him, they should force him into Henry's role.
Since Dorian will def make into the 20th century, have him meet someone like him, someone stunningly beautiful, but hopelessly naïve, and then have him serve as their Henry. This gives you at least two options:
The cycle repeats itself- the new pretty person just becomes another Dorian. This maintains the cautionary tale of the original.
The new pretty person rejects Dorian's bullshit - This can be for any number of reasons, maybe the political happenings around them stop them from losing empathy (the 20th century was eventful to say the least), maybe they see the red flags, or (my personal favorite) they have a Basil-figure in their lives who they trust more than the weird ass twink spouting victorian shit. No matter the reason, Dorian will be forced to confront how painfully empty Henry's life was and, because he followed suit, his own life too. This is especially true if the new person has a Basil-figure; Dorian already knew Basil would have saved him, but this rubs salt into the wound and forces him to recognize his own hand in his downfall.
I think forcing Dorian to confront his worldview and then having him realize how awful it is creates a much better foundation for a redemption arc than introducing a new random love interest would.
Hetty Merton (and the subsequent figures who follow) cannot be the one who redeems him, because the whole point about her character is that she didn't matter. One good act and, therefore, one good person is not going to redeem Dorian nor really inspire change in him, otherwise Basil would have been enough.

I've written that Nuengdiao has grown into the (mafia) boss his parents wanted him to be, but I haven't fully appreciated how much Nueng AND Palm have grown around and because of each other.
And it cumulates around the drinking scenes:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The drinking scene at the dance resulted in a kiss in the next episode, then they had to run away. The next drinking scene resulted in them becoming boyfriends, then Mam' debtors showed up. The final drinking scene resulted in shared "I love yous," then Nueng left.
Hira and Kiyoi from My Beautiful Man 2 reminded me of something I noticed in Never Let Me Go - positioning of dominance.
Nueng and Palm are mostly seen as equal in scenes even with their tiny height difference. However, there are times when Nueng clearly is in the position of power.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nueng tries to eliminate this power dynamic by bending down or demanding that Palm rise
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But with others, he maintains that power imbalance
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yet once again, this power that Nueng has is natural to his and Palm's relationship because at its core, it's a relationship between a rich kid and his bodyguard. It exists regardless if Nueng wants it to or not, mostly with Palm.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Palm, even though he loves Nueng, still views him as a man to be revered. Palm inherently looks up to Nueng, figuratively and literally, and must maintain that order. There is only one time that Palm has allowed himself to hold power of Nueng, and that was when he was upset.
Tumblr media
But when it comes down to it, Palm will always lower himself for Nueng. When he has a chance to exhibit power over Nueng when Nueng is out of his element or lost in his emotions...
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He lowers himself and helps Nueng. Each and every time. Even in his grief, Palm tells Nueng to shower first. Palm worries about Nueng, even in the aftermath of his mother dying in front of him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But Nueng has learned to do the same.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He understands that to truly help Palm, he can't command Palm's compliance. He must lower himself. He must show Palm that he cherishes Palm just as Palm admires him. He must take care of Palm in all the ways Palm has taken care of him.
*back to the drinking scenes*
Nueng doesn't want Palm to drink, but he won't demand that he doesn't. He won't order Palm to stay sober. Instead, he lowers himself and tells him he'll be there, not as a burden, but as a comfort. He is learning how to shape his power into a tool of love rather than dominance.
Palm, a boy who always lowers himself to show his love, told Nueng "no" without hesitation. He didn't leave it up for debate. He took the drink from Nueng, reminded him of the consequences, and told him he couldn't drink because he worries for Nueng. Palm is learning to shape his love into a tool of power instead of submission.
Both boys are learning and growing from each other and their mistakes. Both boys are learning they can't continue to treat each other the ways their parents treated them. Nueng's parents taught him that love was authoritative, while Palm's parents taught him that love was a weakness. These boys are learning that to love each other, they must see love as a gift of strength within themselves, not as a weapon to be used against someone.
Because the last time they tried to maintain the ways they exhibit love and power, it hurt them both.
Tumblr media
Their love has made them stronger.
Even though the boys are separated, the lesson they have learned from each other will still resonate, and because of that, Palm will, hopefully, find the strength to say "No" just like he did on the beach when he saw Nueng close to hurting himself.
Tumblr media
Because they are no longer a rich boy and his bodyguard. They are friends. They are family. They are soulmates. They are equal. They are powerful.

I apparently won't be able to sleep until I put this down.
What I would have wanted to see in order for me to be happy with the ending of Last Twilight.
Back in Episode 11:
More small miscommunications between Day and Mhork. If the relationship is going to blow up at the end of this episode, I would have liked the underlying crack to be clearer in this episode. Maybe when Mork found Day after he was wandering around on his own, a line about Day not taking his phone with him and Day telling Mhork not to worry so much. That would have been the minimum I needed to feel like Day was starting to worry that Mhork was pitying him again. Day’s worry is a realistic one that they would have needed to work on as a couple, but I need more show about this and less tell.
I think it also would have been interesting if, along with Mhork doing more work, Day is starting to think about going back to school. Maybe a letter from the school asking if he wants to extend his leave from class for another semester. Maybe with this, Mhork says something offhand about going back to school that Day takes as Mhork questioning if he could handle that, but Mhork didn’t mean that way.
Episode 12:
Part 1:
Starts at most a couple of weeks or months later. Not freaking 3 years later.
Day is back at school and talking to Ghee. Ghee asking about Mhork. Day saying he blocked Mhork and why he did that because he thinks Mhork was pitying him and treating him like a child.  Ghee says she’s surprised because it didn’t seem like Mhork was the type of person to pity Day.
Day remembering all the times that Mhork encouraged and supported Day’s independence. Starting when he told to get the library card from him on his own.
Maybe another scene with Night and Day being brothers who get along.
Porjai and baby hanging out with Night at the house. Progress in their relationship.
Day asks Porjai if she knows what’s happening with Mhork. Porjai tells Day that Mhork is working at the resort back in the town where Aon lives. Day asks why Mhork didn’t take the Hawaii job. Porjai says that Mhork decided he didn’t want to be so far away from family (family here meaning Porjai and the baby as they are basically the only family Mhork has left even if they aren’t related) but also Mhork didn’t feel like he could stay in the same city and respect Day’s wish not see him.
Day making the decision to go and see Mhork and the two of them talking it out. Mhork apologizing for lying about the job and not talking to Day about his concerns and worries. Day apologizing for his part in the argument, saying that he wants to understand Mhork better and that he sees Mhork for the caring and loving person that he is. Them committing to talking things out and making their relationship work. They are now officially back together.
Day and Mhork go out to dinner. While they are a bit away from each other Mhork gets a phone call in which he is re-offered the Hawaii job. Mhork asks if he could have some time to think about it. This time Mhork talks to Day about it.
Part 2/3
Now we can do a three-year later jump if it’s necessary. Mhork is working in Hawaii and having a send-off before he heads back home for Porjai’s and Night’s wedding.
No fake out that Mhork is the groom, just don’t.
Mhork walking Day to the car and being able to do that in a cute boyfriend way instead of the weird no-talking way.
Mhork being a happy and supportive boyfriend helping Day at book shop. Day telling Mhork that he doesn’t have to help that he can do this himself. Mhork telling Day that he knows Day can do it himself, but he would like to help anyway because he loves him.
When Day and Mhork go to pick up the suites. Mhork tries on his jacket and is surprised by how well it fits. Day says of course it fits well, he gave the measurement to the tailor himself and who knows Mhork better than him. Also touching, just so much casual touching between them.
Wedding stuff being sorta the same but this Mhork and Day can share looks of understanding when Mom is giving her lecture about being sure to talk to each other in order to work through problems.
No airport scenes as they aren’t necessary.
Mhork teasing Day about what kind of wedding they should have.
At the end of the night Mom gets the text about the eye donation.
Part 4
As Day is talking about his life journey and his growth in relation to the book the Last Twilight, I want to see scenes where Day is taking care of Mhork. I want to see Day reading to Mhork when he comes home from work and is tired. Day and Mhork cook together at home, with Day cutting the vegetables for Mhork. Day picking out which shirt Mhork’s going to be wearing for the day. This is important because
If Mhork is going to be saying to his parents and Rung when he goes to pay his respects that they don’t have to worry about him anymore because he has someone who takes care of him – I want to see Day taking care of him! This was something that I needed as show, not tell. Yes, still have cute scenes of Day and Mhork exploring things together and stuff, but also give me some scenes of the small ways that Day takes care of Mhork and maybe even some of how Mhork takes care of Day as they grow as a couple.
I noped out of watching the rest of part 4 because I got mad about Mhork saying this without it being shown, and that was my limit given how mad I was with the rest of the episode. So, I’m not sure what, if anything, I would change in the last part after this scene. Maybe I’ll try to watch it again later.
I hated that this episode opened up with the idea that they took three years to be in the same room. Let alone talk. Like why? These two were always reaching for each other throughout the series, and this one fight made them let go. Really? I’m not a fan of the time skips, but since they only have one episode left I guess it’s fine. I can definitely think of a way to make it work *waves vaguely at the words above*.

Do you think that the whole controversy with Tenoch has caused ER to either be more popular among social media and the public or just less as if people are turning away from her? Especially since the 'so-called' evidence that she posted was used against her to call her out on her lies as well as her crimes and history. Also, I wonder if politicians who have tried to be associated with her, such as that one deputy who schemed with her to try to pass the stealthing law by dragging Tenoch, are avoiding and turning away from her due to probably realizing how toxic and criminal she really is. Because it's amazing how they are all silent instead of supporting her, even with the access to the media power that they have that they could use to promote her such as they did with her case as there is not much news going on except for what she posts on Twitter, even with her acid case. I could be wrong, but it seems to me that no one prominent is really on her side publicly, except her lawyer and followers, which makes her really all alone. She probably does these horrible things as a way to feel good about herself and have some self-importance, which would have been sad, if it wasn't for the fact that she tramples and hurts others with her family to do so. If there is one important thing that I have learned in my two and a half decades of life on Earth that is very true, it's that the bill always comes due, and I feel that her bill for all that she has done might be on its way.
Thank you for the submission, anon! You pose a very interesting theory, which I agree can be true.
I'm gonna be a bit more cautious here about my answer, mostly because everything is so chaotic, nuanced and layered it's hard to tease out a specific reason for this. Whatever I say is purely my opinion, so please take it with a pinch of salt.
She could be the case of "bad publicity is still publicity". If she truly is trying for a political career, this might bring her some exposure. Politics is usually dirty and messy, and any kind of exposure helps. I have a feeling she's not very big on her own, but tries to show herself by using the few contacts she has gained, and the nexus she has from her own family. She cares a lot about her carefully constructed image, coz that's what she has going for her. That public sympathy and an activist image.
On the other hand, an equally valid argument is the one you raise. And that I suspect too: this is gonna come back to bite her. Everyone acts to preserve their self-interests, and so we have seen people distancing themselves from her. The amount of stuff she and her family has going on is a biggg problem for her. It's not like other politicians are not toxic or criminal, they just hide it better.
She definitely created a big ruckus and then nothing came of it. So to some extent, I think her temporary social media popularity is down. Will it continue to be that way? I can't say. Does it reflect the ground reality? I don't know.
I don't want to pass any personal comments on her as a person, and keep myself limited to her case with Tenoch. I feel bad for her acid attack, but what she did to him was nasty. Terrible.
Here's what I suspect. All of our conclusions are based on publicly available info. Behind the scenes? She could have quieted down and shifted her focus elsewhere (other cases that are more important). She might have found solace in the fact that she was able to successfully deliver a blow to Tenoch's career. She might be covering up her criminal traces. She might be working on her network politically. Or she might be quietly planning another attack on Tenoch (I actually doubt that).
But boy do I hope he sues the hell out of her.
Sorry for such a long post! I had thoughts. I hope you keep the world bright through your goodness and optimism! 🫶

So I've watched Knives Out and Glass Onion over the last 2 days.
Obviously Glass Onion is amazing and watching Helen smash Miles' shit and literally burn down his reputation felt so cathartic. Akin to watching Elon Musk burn Twitter to the ground after saying for years that he wasn't a genius (who doesn't enjoy being right?)
Tumblr media
But for me, Knives Out is better and it hinges on the fact that Marta is more relatable to me. And it took for me to actually sit and think to understand why.
See the thing is, Marta is a Latina woman from an immigrant family and I am a white English woman. I have never experienced racism or xenophobia so while I could see the performative liberalism (on the mild end) of some of the Thrombeys, I have never actually experienced that.
So then I started thinking maybe it's because I just found it so much easier to hate the Thrombeys than the Glass Onion ensemble. Because I have seen those kinds of people who would throw everyone else under the bus for money. Especially the way those tendencies come out when there's money to be inherited. I have seen it among certain parts of my own family (the side that I am somewhat alienated from).
Tumblr media
It was in thinking about family, that I realised what me and Marta have in common.
We are both working class with working class values.
People who are working class deep in their soul have key values that will always win out in the end. We look after family because we love them, and we recognise what they do for us, what our parents sacrifice to try to give us the opportunities they never had. And above all, we put kindness first because nobody else is going to be kind to us.
Marta is unapologetically kind to the point where it could lead to her getting caught and losing everything, and the only reason she's even trying to play the game is to protect her mum. She plays Go not to win but to create something beautiful. She becomes Harlan's friend not just because she's paid to be his nurse but because she recognises he needs one.
Tumblr media
And those members of my family I mentioned before who are only interested in money? They're not proud to be working class, they don’t see the goodness in it, they don’t hold their heads high. They are wannabees and class traitors.
Not Marta.
Marta is (aside from everything else) a working class icon. And I'm so happy she got to kick these white shit-eaters to the curb. And I'm even happier that she got what she deserved by being a Good Person, she's Smart and she is A Good Nurse. It's like a fantasy to me- a world where people get what they deserve and not what they can exploite out of others.
Tumblr media
I know this is a rambling mess but I just felt so emotional about this.
Remember everyone, the 1% are not our friends, they are not to be idolised and looked up to, they will not look after us. We have to look after each other.
And we have to take power away from them whether that's taking the inheritance that your friend gives you, or burning priceless art.
God speed and eat the rich!

Little details that I noticed...
It is so clear that Simon has been bawling his eyes out between the scene at the shooting range and when we see him back home with Ayub and Rosh. His eyes are red rimmed and at one point they actually look red to me.
We know he either walked home or took the bus because Linda shows up half way through the scene mad that she waited for Simon at the school but he never showed up. This leads me to think he walked all the way home or he had Rosh and Ayub come pick him up.
Regardless, we can see Simon is clearly upset even though we don’t see the emotional breakdown. He’s been thinking about this since he left Wilhelm, he knows it is a messed up situation and he’s cried his heart out over it. He’s come to realise how messed up a situation he is in. I think Simon is honestly more scared about Linda finding out about him stealing and selling Micke’s pills than the police.
Everyone is in this is there to protect themselves and their family. And Simon realises just the world that Wille is in. And he makes the choice to compromise on a level, as when we see him next he’s putting out that very compromise.
But we can see how broken Simon is at this realisation without actually seeing the tears. And that to me is more powerful.
