idk I've been seeing some people getting upset over Rei being the legends protag so I made a meme:

#Pokemon Masters is it's own thing #but it's not 'canon' to the main games #just like Pokespe's protags aren't canon outside of the manga #with the exception of Red there's no canon protagonists #and Red's only the exception because Leaf didn't exist in game until the remakes + he's the only protag you can fight in other games #I would have preferred Akari but I will be protecting protag Rei with my life #he does not deserve hate just because DeNA assigned him to be based off the player character #he's just as much of a Legends protagonist as Akari is #so unless Akari or Rei appear in a future game #you decide who's 'canon'#and yes there was a even ratio of male and female canon protags prior to Legends #for males there's: Red Ethan Brendan and Hilbert #and for girls there's: Dawn Rosa Serena and Gloria #Then there's Selene and Elio which based off what I could gather could both be Sun and Moon's protagonists?#aka they both share traits of they're in game counterparts #so... 5 males and 5 females before legends #pokemon #pokemon masters #pokemon masters ex #pokemas #Pokemon Rei #Pokemon Akari

Question: Hi, Brendan! My question is about the Roy and Jamie scene. I know change isn’t linear, but that felt like such a major regression. Especially Jamie mentioning the video — he had such a heartfelt apology and hug with Keeley about it a few episodes prior, then here he was using it as ammo against Roy. It kinda felt like it undermined that moment with Keeley to me.

Could you maybe explain the process behind writing that scene?

Answer: For one: men are dumb. Also Roy and Jamie’s relationship was going to well, and had never really had a clear-the-Keeley conversation. Once it started, yeah, they regressed to where they were before. Another thing is: we were playing with the “love triangle” trope there, the time-honored television chestnut of “who will she choose!?!”. Answer: she doesn’t have to choose anyone. She is Keeley fucking Jones.
