also it really is shit how several popular bloggers were like. Horribly bigoted towards ace people when it was cool, but once it stopped being trendy they 1) deleted those posts so receipts couldn't be pulled 2) maybe put up claimed "redactions" or said "omg its been years if you really wanna know wether i still hate those people dm me" but never apologized for their behavior lmao. I don't think any of the people who did that actually changed, I just think they know it's not such an acceptable/fun target to bully anymore. It's really sick how that type of bullying was encouraged for years and how few people repented for their behavior.
#cipher talk#H*stlerose and lgbt*nis in particular come to mind#x***guiw*ng too tbh#They did a weird heel turn of being normal about ace people to insinuating most ace people are homophobic and self centered#And that believing a society which strictly controls your sex life doesn't like you not having sex and may punish you is a 'white thing'#As though the pressures around sex are not MORE strongly felt by PoC#I don't wanna say 'imagine if there was a mass movement of people who said they hated gay men and homophobia wasn't real and they never#Apologized or faced consequences' bc I know that exists. It's on Twitter and it's why I'm cagey around how people on tumblr say f*g#(I do mean like other lgbtq people tbc)#But like it's ridiculously fucked up that it happened. That people allowed it. That most people have forgotten about it either bc#They were targeted or bc they did the targeting#Remember when a real human being who had recently come out as ace was murdered for rejecting a man and people turned her into a fucking#Discourse topic? And posted decapitation photos claiming they were of her in tags about ace people/spread rumors about that?#I do. I fucking do.#Remember all the discussions about how 'denying your partner sex' was abuse? How ace people were p*dos for forcing discussions of sexuality#Onto kids? How wanting non alcoholic non sex forward spaces- something ND people and addicts also discussed- became a fucking crime?#Because ace people also thought it was cool?#Like g-d I know this was painful and I'm not saying we should do discourse again but forgetting all that isn't helpful either

im so over the resurgence of (following the premiere of heartstopper s2 i've seen) the comparison or degradation of genres of queer media, even (and honestly especially) by in the queer community.
like i don't expect everyone to like heartstopper or shows like it, and you certainly don't need to watch it, but i'm tired of people puttng it down because its "just a teen rom-com" or because its focused on kids or because its not doing anything "particulalry new" or whatever ppl are saying doesn't make it bad or worthless. y
i'm sorry that the current entertainment industry and streaming services and everything like it have convinced you there can only be One Queer Media of one type or at all. thats not true. queer media can and should be as common as non-queer media. you don't need to prove one as better than another or whatever people are trying to do.
a slice-of-life show about two boys in highschool falling in love and their friends doesn't mean there can't also be a show about two lesbians in highschool. it doesn't mean we can have a movie about middle-aged people discovering themselves and their queer identities. it doesn't mean we can't have books about old gay people being happy. it doesn't mean we can't have stories about intersex people or aromantic people or polyam people or anything else.
don't let them convince you our stories need to be limited. don't let them tell you theres a limited demand or supply or quanitity of queer content to be made. don't let them make us hate each other and not the people canceling projects.

"i hate twinks"
okay do you mean that in the "i think that gay men have value even if they aren't skinny white 21 year olds" way or do you mean that in the homophobic "i hate effeminate men and i love having an excuse to treat them the same way conservatives do" way?

Who cares
A poem by me
who cares
who cares that people are using neopronouns
who cares that people’s neopronouns “aren’t real pronouns”. newsflash. pronouns aren’t real. grammar is a social illusion constructed of crossed fingers and shared opinions
who cares that bisexual lesbians are “infringing on the community”. who even gives a shit. why are we putting up walls on this of all things. i don’t even know what that means.
who cares about people using slurs to define themselves. it’s not like they’re using it hatefully or anything
who cares about people “faking” autism. who cares. you could say that about literally anyone and find reasons to justify it. that’s just how bullshit works
you live in a bubble consisting of illusions and falsehoods concocted by fake people. go outside. go read a book. talk with a friend. god forbid i say go touch grass.
who cares.

I know the term comphet is supposed to be for lesbians only but as an afab aromantic person I find it incredibly and painfully relatable very time I hear a lesbian talking about their experience with it
is there like an aro/ace version? compallo?

Transandrophobia is so rampant on tiktok like why are you criticizing a sound that is celebrating masculinity in a nonharmful way that is PRIMARILY used by transmen? Like can transmen have one goddamn thing without radfem rhetoric being shoved down our throats on how we shouldn't be proud of our masculinity?

For any one who is confused by Joe's sexual preferences in The Warp effect, he is what they call as "side" which means a homosexual man who doesn't like penetrative sex, but does engage in other form of sexual activities. It's a slang term though.
But importantly it's completely different than being asexual or ace.

I know that comphet is a really big and real thing especially for lesbians but I also think that we don't talk enough about lesbians/gay men who force themselves to *not* be attracted to the opposite gender because that'll make them a "fake" lesbian/gay man who was "bi all along". Especially young lesbians/gay men who have built an identity around being a lesbian/gay man and sworn that they could never like someone of the opposite gender. And then have a crisis when they *do* because sexuality isn't always set in stone.
I'm not saying everyone is bi. I don't think that. I'm just saying that maybe we should show kindness to people who do end up liking someone they didn't think they could like, regardless of what label they choose for themself.
e.g. it's perfectly ok for someone to ID as a lesbian, realise they like a man, and ID as bi, but it's also ok for them to keep IDing as a lesbian.
TLDR; imposing rigid definitions onto labels bad, self-honesty good

anyways trans men do in fact face opression for being trans men and if your excuse for why they dont is "men dont face opression" not only are you ignoring the years worth of oppression trans men have faced for, thats right, Being Trans Men, youre also ignoring the years worth of oppression men of color and disabled men have faced 😭 also gay men literally face opression for being Men who are attracted to Men, but you dont go around saying gay men arent opressed do you no you dont you just hate trans men/transmascs lmao

Sometimes, to torture myself, I look at old discourse posts, and then I find out that some of the ace discourse blogs are still active in 20fucking22. Except now they’re panphobic and transandrophobic
I love how they say “terfs dni” but they engage in terf rhetoric. terfs themselves admitted that ace exclusion is the first step towards becoming a terf. They sometimes call pansexual people a slur based on the T slur. also, gendercrits call trans people “the gender fandom.” acephobes and panphobes always say “the asexual fandom” and “the pansexual fandom,” and transandrophobia deniers call transmascs “the transandrophobia fandom.” I know y’all wanna call us trenders so bad.
You are legally allowed to make fun of people who got into ace discourse in 2017 and are somehow still around in 2022. It’s morally correct.
