i’m so sick of writers who proudly proclaim that they don’t read and directors and actors and other filmmakers who smugly say that they rarely watch movies or any artist who acts like an audience is stupid for connecting with their work like what the fuck is wrong with you that you hold such contempt such derision for the art that you have chosen to make the art that so many people dream of the opportunity to make the art that brings meaning and connection to people’s lives it’s unbelievably disrespectful to both your audience and the art-form and if you can’t muster basic respect for either your art-form or your audience then kindly fuck off and do something else

I kind of hate that I have to remind some people of this before the episode, but if we don't get bi Buck or Buddie in the way we want or think, or even in general tonight . . . . . . . . It's really annoying when you get smacked in the face on other platforms with how little other fans think of your favourite character(s).

Today I saw someone arguing against Sam Raimi directing an Avengers film and they said...

"Say what you want about the Russos, but they handled every single character in their Avengers movies with a ton of care."

And I read that thinking LAUGHS LOUDLY IN LOKI FAN. Heck, they even didn't give much of a shit about Thor considering even Ragnarok wasn't safe from them basically undoing everything that happened to Thor in that. But at least Thor got to go along for the ride in Infinity War rather than being thrown in the bin before the title card.

First, I'm sorry that I didn't indicate the tone well enough. As I'm sure you know this is a website of many neurodivergents. I am one of them, and I also don't English very well, and so I probably could have formatted this better, and made extra sure it didn't come off as negative, that's totally on me. What I would like to say here is (caps for emphasis not emotion): I LIKE BOTH THESE SHIPS. SEPARATELY AND TOGETHER. I AM NOT ANTI SAMBUCKY.

What I was hoping to indicate with the original post was that I think Steve's impact on Bucky (and Sam for that matter) is really important to his character and I prefer moving into new ships when my favorite character actually works through they're issues and not just whatever moral penance he apparently did I'm tfatws that made him all better (that is a whole nother argument so please don't freak out about my supposed hatred of the show. I don't hate it. Chill.). ADDITIONALLY I do not think that Sambucky existing is Steve erasure!!! That second line was actually meant to be humorous, but I can see where that didn't come out. I will add a smiley face so you guys don't think I'm an axe murderer. In reference to that one user *cough* I don't really expect an award for saying I enjoy a ship lol. I was just saying. I enjoy. The ship.

Good morning Walshball Nation here are my personal predictions for the England squad call up this afternoon. Any deviation and clearly Sarina has gone senile and they need to put me in as gaffer /s

1. Kirby’s BACK IN IT LADS. God we’ve missed her. Please Sarina, please. Super Fran Kirby is the spark we need, we’ve often felt a bit sluggish/hesitant in attack and that girl is absolute lightning. Give our strikers a kick up the arse.

2. Lucy in the squad but kept on the bench. Listen, I’m being realistic. Sarina will be calling Lucy Bronze to the England squad when she’s 45 and tracking back in a mobility scooter. And to be fair I think she’s got a lot to offer in terms of experience, morale, and guiding the younger players. A Jill Scott type figure. Emotional support animal. Whatever the fuck her and Keira Walsh have going on. Let her go on holiday to Belgium but LET THAT KNEE REST. I just know her physio has grey hair.

3. Obviously my dear sweet Mary Earps is number 1, as the rest of England’s keepers are deeply unserious individuals unfortunately. And none of them are getting any fucking minutes. Roebuck, girly, blink twice if you need help. This does make second and third keepers a tricky pick- I’d actually love a Keating call up, she’s so young but I think throwing her in at the deep end would be really good for her. Maybe Sandy’ll get a look in? Or maybe Hampton’s reign of terror continues, idk. GK Union looking like Game of Thrones atm.

4. Some fresh blood. Look, if we’re going to let Aunty Lucy have some time in her deckchair we need something a bit zippy on that right wing. I’m talking Le Tissier minutes, I’m talking Charles minutes. But mostly Le Tissier. Let that girl commit GBH against some Belgians and somehow avoid bookings bc she’s just a big ole sweetie. 5. The Old Favourites- can’t lie gang, Mead’s just not ready. She saved our arses on Sunday for sure, but for her second match after injury to be an international fixture is too much. MAYBE a super sub? Idk I’m hesitant. Let her ease back in. I would fucking LOVE, and I mean LOVE, for Nobbs to be in this squad, and to start, and to score a goal and for everybody to say “wow Jordan Nobbs we forgot how good you are and we’re sorry you got left out in the cold”. She needs a win. Heartbreaking to see a good player just continually get forgotten about, SARINA. But then I’m not sure it’s too likely, seeing as she’s somehow not even getting good minutes for fucking Villa. Maybe if you put her on you wouldn’t have 0 fucking points?? Just a thought Carla! THE RISE AND FALL OF SHAWN MICHAELS

He had the world on a string. The ability to yo-yo the people up and down with the ease of a Duncan Imperial Master. He outright owned them.

They were hypnotized by his power… his “star” power. On the edges of their seats they anticipated his every word. If he said jump, they wouldn’t waste any time asking how high. They would simply pump up their Airs and fly through the roof of the building. His wish… was their command. He had them on a “high”. A “high” that they never wanted to come down from.

But then… he dropped them.

Whether it was deliberate or not, it didn’t even matter. He let the air out of the balloon and let it wondrously float to the ground… smashing into a million pieces. They shared his ride… while being the victims of his fall.

The date was April 1, 1996. One day earlier Shawn Michaels saw his boyhood dream become a reality when he outlasted a marathon war with Bret Hart en route to becoming the World Wrestling Federation Champion. That night we were in San Bernadino, California, just hours away from a live Monday Night RAW. Scheduled on the show was an interview with Shawn—his first since capturing the gold. Backstage, Shawn was wired! He was on an adrenaline rush! He was sitting on top of the world… and he knew it. Everything he ever wanted out of life… he now OWNED!!! Like a grade school kid who was about to give his first speech in front of a class, Shawn nervously rehearsed his “acceptance” speech to me, over and over again until it was branded in his memory. Then… it was “showtime”!

Wanting to witness this moment in Federation history with “the people”, I went into the arena and took my familiar position next to the hard camera. I’ll never forget the feeling in that building when Shawn hit the stage. The people—his people—were feeding him with a fire that was so intense that it felt like the place was going to erupt into a full-fledged inferno. I swear to you, I HAD GOOSE BUMPS!!! Like a crafty puppeteer, Shawn pulled the strings and controlled each and every one of them. Man, woman, child—it didn’t matter—feasted out of his very hands. He was their leader and they obeyed his every command.

Man, it’s so ironic. As I use the word “leader”, I realized that Shawn Michaels… never was! As badly as he wanted to be and as badly as his fans BEGGED him to be… he simply wasn’t. And in the end… this would be the downfall of the mighty superhero!

Was it his fault? Or wasn’t it? Well, you can look at that two ways. Perhaps it was because maybe Shawn Michaels was just too immature to play the role of the Pied Piper. Maybe it was all. Too much, too soon. On the other hand, maybe it wasn’t his fault at all. Maybe Shawn Michaels just wasn’t cut out to be a “leader”. We know for a fact that he has an extremely close relationship to his parents, and maybe that’s what it all stems from. Maybe he always depended on his parents to show him the way, and in their absence he let himself be led by “darker” influences. Now, I’m not a psychologist or anything, but there is a lot to be said for this theory. It’s no secret that Shawn has made a habit of following certain individuals in the wrestling business that he calls his “friends”. Some say he even continued to be influenced by his “friends” after they crossed the enemy lines. There is no doubt that these individuals had a tremendous effect on Shawn and, in this editor’s opinion… those effects served as a deadly cancer to the career of Shawn Michaels! I’ve seen Shawn at his best—and believe me he DOES possess the ability to LEAD—but whether you call it insecurity or immaturity, Shawn refuses to assume the role with any consistency… or longevity. He continues to let others take the reins, rather than pull up and take control of his own career or for that matter… his own life.

Whether you like Shawn Michaels or you despise him… either way you’ve got to feel for him. At the moment he’s a lost soul who has no idea what’s best. He might think he knows what he wants built in fact he is lost in the words of others in his ear. It seems that everybody else knows what’s best for the career of Shawn Michaels… everybody except the Heartbreak Kid himself.

As an editor who once considered Shawn Michaels a friend, all I can say is, “Shawn, find yourself the nearest mirror, and take a good long look inside. Don’t see ‘what could have been,’ when you’re about ten years too late. Your time is now, and if tnag man I. The mirror doesn’t seize his opportunity, then it will all be gone before you even had a chance. When, or if, that time ever comes… believe me… you will be riding that storm out ALONE.”

I genuinely don't think straight people can even begin to grasp how upsetting the homophobia in the ted lasso fandom is starting to become. It's coming from all sides: casual viewers i speak to in real life who laugh in my face when i mention the possibility of any of the main characters being queer ("there's more than enough gay stuff with colin being there", "you're making the keeley stuff up she's obviously straight cause she's with roy"), people on the internet saying "who even is this colin guy?" after him being on the show for 3 seasons or "baz doesn't need to be gay as well, stop making everybody gay". And this is about the show that's all about be true to yourself! Be curious not judgemental! Be kind! This show managed to curate that kind of audience. It all just feels so fucking impossible sometimes.

#i honestly think ted lasso is gonna fail the vito russo test #cause the potential queer characters they seem to have set up for a queer storyline (excluding keeley cause she'll end up with roy/jamie) #are all minor side characters #and people will be able to skip their isolated 2 minute scenes and just watch the rest of the show uninterrupted #and if the shwo does pass the test then the situation in the fandom is gonna get really fucking nasty #which is fine cause queer people are used to that #i know i say this with ⅔ of the season still ahead of us but then again that means i've seen 7/9 of the whole show #and i don't seem the earnestly turning this thing around in a meaningful way #and as i said even if they do against all odds then the fandom will turn into fight club #meaning queer fans are gonna be the target of hate either way #ted lasso spoilers #just realised how many typos there are in the tags so please ignore that i was Ranting <3
