#i have a 100 point project in fucking child care

Note
i also always felt like the fandom depicting reigen's childhood as abusive and neglectful never really quite fit. i know that most of it is probably just projection, and it's something i really understand because i've done it before with other characters.
i feel like there's a difference between giving a character trauma that makes sense when taking their canon self into account and giving a character trauma for other unrelated reasons, like comfort or even for fun, to be able to explore the scenarios that would come with it. both are very valid. let the people do what they want, y'know?
but something i feel like people tend to gloss over sometimes is that parents can fuck up when raising you and still not be outright shitty evil people. they can judge you on your career choices and still love you. your friends can make an off the cuff comment that ends up sticking with you in a bad way without realizing, people can suck at showing they care about you while still caring about you, they can be imperfect just as much as you are. it's their first time on this earth too. and it doesn't excuse the times they may have hurt you or made you feel bad about yourself, but it's up to you if you wanna keep them in your life. everyone can change, but that's also up to them.
it gives reigen an added charm [or should i say humanity?], to know that he is a flawed person and that it stems from the things that happened when he was younger, and the people that were in his life, and to know that things don't need to be catastrophic for them to affect and/or change you, whether good or bad. it's a good thing to remember i think. to know that there's so many greys between the white and black. that he has layers. his experiences are very valid.
anywho. sorry for the long ramble i just had to get this out there hehe.
ask game time!!!! 25, 9 and 22
Oh my god no don't apologize you're so right. I agree 100% so I'm gonna answer with my own long ramble.
(Discussions of child abuse below, though nothing that's not present in MP100 canon.)
Yes, it almost feels like people want to dismiss all flawed parenting and strained relationships between parent and child as abuse. There's certainly something very wrong with Reigen and his parents' relationship but I'm gonna be honest, I don't understand how people can find redemption in Toichiro who literally beat up his own son but then at the same time demonize Reigen's parents for the crime of disapproving his life as a CONMAN.
Yes, Reigen actually helps his clients and refuses to take money for things he cannot fix, but he's an incredibly special case and his parents are like most people who have no clue that the supernatural is even real. I personally think IRL psychics are full of shit and prey on the naive and emotionally vulnerable. If I had a kid who quit their normal job and spent all their savings to become a psychic I would not be happy with them! I would hope I wouldn't be as cold and that they wouldn't live in fear of my messages to them but I would definitely be encouraging them to stop that shit and get a "real job". To think that his parents should support his choices in life when he's pretending to be a psychic with no additional context is wild to me. (Also, I can't find the translation anymore but Reigen says in the fanbook that his mom thinks he's being tricked into doing his current job.) Again, they could go about this in a much better way but this disapproval does not inherently point to abuse.
(Sorry this rant got very long so everything else is below the cut.)
I think the biggest thing that points to Reigen's parents not being as awful as they are in fan content is that even after Reigen gets publicly exposed for being a con artist, his mom does tell him to learn his lesson from this but she also takes the time to prepare him an apology, tells him that he should come home (instead of telling him he's not welcome home/disowning him) and emphasizes that she's on his side. Maybe you could consider that the bare minimum of a decent parent but this to me just doesn't feel like she's the hateful abusive mother so often depicted. She could be warmer about it but she's obviously super concerned and wants Reigen to know she cares about him regardless of his actions.
(As for his dad, all we know is that he and Reigen don't talk to each other at all and that he thinks Reigen is unemployed. This relationship is definitely worse than Reigen and his mom's but there's little to go off of in terms of if his dad is a terrible parent or not. His mom seems to think he's worried about Reigen and that would definitely not surprise me.)
In terms of how Reigen feels about his parents, in the fanbook he acknowledges that there have been misunderstandings from both sides and that he'd like to talk things out with them and visit them more often. That's such a real thing lots of people can relate to and I'd love to see that get explored! I want to see Reigen patch things up with his parents! Maybe I'll write out my stupid fic idea for it idk.
I also don't want to stereotype but I am from an East Asian family myself and grew up surrounded by others so I feel like it's safe for me to say that Reigen's parents really remind me of your typical older generation of Asian parents. (Reigen was born in 1984 so his parents would definitely be of the boomer ilk, potentially even the Silent Generation if they had him on the older side.) Reigen also says in the fanbook that his parents are very serious people. Oftentimes with that older generation they just don't really show their care the way you'd normally see it. There may never be any "I love yous" but they'll cut you a plate of fruit without you asking or remember the show you liked 10 years ago and assume you're still into it...
Of course, parental norms in a culture don't justify hurtful parenting. (I mean just watch Everything Everywhere All At Once if you want to see the pain of having a disapproving Asian parent despite knowing they love you and just want what they think is best for you.) His mom fussing over his job and his lack of a girlfriend may be a super "Asian parent" thing, but it definitely hurts Reigen's feelings and she should cut that out. So yeah, Reigen's parents could do a lot better in terms of making Reigen feel supported and loved regardless if they approve of his life choices or not, but Reigen wants to patch things up with them for a reason and I'm hopeful that they can all reach a better understanding with each other.
One thing I also wish the anime showed was that Reigen's mom talks to him on the phone after Separation Arc! We see that in this omake:
Tumblr media
Reigen definitely didn't tell his parents his phone number or his home address if his mom had to resort to emailing his business address just to talk to him. But I like to think that after Separation Arc he started letting his mom into his life a bit more...
God this was such a long rant, I'm sorry. One final thing before I get to your questions is that if we really need abusive parents to hate, Teru's non-present parents are ripe for the picking... Just saying.
(ask game)
I'm assuming you mean Reigen for all of these btw
25. What was your first impression of this character? How about now?
Gosh I initially thought he was just a silly goofy character who could be annoying and pathetic at times, but I enjoyed his presence on-screen. Then he got deeper in the Season 1 finale and showed just how much he truly cared about Mob... That part definitely got me shook. He only got better and better from there and now he's one of my favorite characters in the story.
9. Could you be roommates with this character?
Jesus christ uh I definitely don't think he'd be a bad roommate and we'd probably get along just fine but I also think I'd annoy the shit out of him. I'm not the best at keeping my space neat and clean. Also the thought of meeting Reigen in person is actually terrifying... Reigen should never exist outside the world of fiction because his pure chaos would be too much for reality.
22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?
Hmm I answered what I don't like last time, but I do like fics that explore his relationship with Mob or Serizawa. I also like seeing him confront more of his personal issues and grow as a person even if he gets a little hurt in the process-

- somehow is friends w glass joe. don't ask me how it works they just ARE (and they may be a little. fruity.)
- has one of those light up squishy things that u hit to change the color. yeah he either fucking SLAMS that thing or gently pats it when he wants to change it. it’s a bunny for anyone curious

- has 100% almost broken the world circuit ring's ropes (see his intermission animation in contender)
- his locker in the locker rooms is either completely spotless or dented to hell and back. bonus points if theres like. a fake succulent in there or some shit
- luvs animals. takes pics of cool animals he sees anywhere
origin backstory thing under cur bc its long
origin:
isaiah joseph banks, known as his boxing alias mr. sandman, was born on april 12th to victoria banks and george banks in the Doylestown Hospital. born to loving parents, isaiah grew up as an only child.
isaiah learned to keep to himself and care for himself very early on, as both of his parents were usually at work. they worked hard to provide for isaiah and themselves, but always put their son first. they
the time they spent at work would be made up at home, albeit this time could never be fully made up for a young isaiah. he had spent more time with babysitters and nannies than his own parents. of course, isaiah knew his parents loved him, but all the bonds that were supposed to be formed hadn’t; the time frame had passed.
the time they did spend together was… memorable, really. not in a bad way, but every moment— every waking minute— made isaiah into the man he is today.
every night, when his mother was home early enough, she would sing him a soft lullaby. when she wasn’t, his mother had recorded this lullaby onto a tape for him to listen to. this lullaby was the song that made mr. sandman: Mr. Sandman by The Chordettes. it wasn’t a typical children’s lullaby by any means, but by god he loves that song— present tense intended.
then, a problem arose: school. starting middle school is one thing, but isaiah found out how cruel children could be.
isaiah was big, to put it lightly. five foot six at age 12 was enough ground for bullying, and being dropped off by a few different babysitters/nannies in the morning only added to the ammunition.
with how big he was, the bullying never went farther than verbal harassment. soft giggling every time he talked in class, glances from across the classroom, the bullying was subtle except for the occasional direct blow to isaiah.
his boxing interest began when he was thirteen, where his parents enrolled him in a self defense class that revolved around boxing and the sort. they had found out about the bullying from the babysitters, as isaiah had been reporting what they had been saying to him. there, young isaiah learned the basics of boxing: dodging, punching, and jabs had been added to his arsenal.
isaiah had always relished in the safety of knowing that he’d never get attacked at school, but unfortunately this was false.
it was brutal really; the poor boy had been caught in the bathroom and was attacked from behind, slammed his face into the sink, and assaulted from there. it took around two minutes for teachers to hear the commotion, but they were two minutes too late.
there, isaiah was brought to the hospital. no one truly knows the full extent of his injuries, minus his parents. if you look closely at mr. sandman, his top teeth are a little crooked.
nothing exactly eventful happened other than he moved schools, and everything was smooth from there.
his boxing career began to take off when he was 17, when he met an old babysitter of his— one who had taken care of him up until he was 13. he had become a boxing coach and offered to take isaiah up as a student.
if you ever ask mr. sandman in an interview about his boxing idol, he’d most likely say his coach. that man taught him nearly everything he knows, and even taught him the dreamland express move that mr. sandman is most known for, albeit modified.
mr. sandman picked up his alias when his coach told him about the WVBA and their boxers. it was almost inevitable he’d choose mr. sandman in honor of his mother.
he had his first fight at age 18, where it went swimmingly well. records of this fight have been lost to time, but, according to word of mouth, mr. sandman nearly killed the poor man.
i gotta be honest w u all idk how to continue this. umm mr sandman meets a wvba recruiter and then uh yah.😁😁😁

I need attention, I don't care who its from... Baby, you know, I don't like to be alone.
Love me or Hate me, I just don't care
Tumblr media
Characters: Billy Hargrove, Steve Harrington, Eddie Munson, Max Mayfield, Neil Hargrove Rating: Explicit- Violence TW: Child abusive, homophobic language, violence Tags: Billy Hargrove centered, numb Billy, fighting, unhealthy ways of dealing with stress, the homoeroticism of Billy Hargrove and Steve Harrington, enemies to friends?, Not really a slash because I wasn't planning on continuing this but meh I might, Eddie Munson & Billy Hargrove Preview:
“Yo! Harrington! What the fuck are you doing!?” “Back the fuck off Hargrove,” Steve growls, not even casting a look Billy’s way as he hurtles another. It explodes instantly upon impact.   “Dude, stop!” Billy charges forward, hand up to protect his eyes from the shrapnel about to be projected his way. “Fuck, stop! You’re going to hurt yourself!” Or me. Billy’s able to smack the next bottle out of Steve’s hands and onto the grass before it can shatter.   “That’s the point dipshit!” Steve shouts in his face, so loud and with so much anger Steve loses his footing and falls hard onto the pile of broken shards. Instead of screaming in agony like any sane person would, he just lets out a pleased laugh that is borderline hysterical. “Just leave me the fuck alone man…” “You’re upset, fine. But don’t do this shit. You’re gonna get someone else hurt.” Billy huffs. He pulls Steve off the manufactured landmine and moving them into the grass. By the time they reach it Steve is slapping Billy’s hands off of him.  “Since when do you give a fuck about anyone but yourself?” And the comment stings worse than Neils slurs. Because fuck you Harrington.  “Eat shit. You don’t know me.” “Yeah? And whose fault is that?” He fires back hotly.  Billy’s eyebrows pull together trying to figure out what he’s talking about.  Steve huffs in frustration.  “Just leave me alone.”
*AN and with this little one shot we have officially posted 100 works on ao3!!!!!!!

Hi for the headcanon ask! Number 13? and man I just really appreciate your writing seriously I can’t read anything else! 💗
Thank you, friend! Sorry it took me a few days to get to this!
13) What kind of parent they would be.
This one is super interesting because I have very mixed feelings on whether or not Chrissy, especially, would actually want kids. I think Eddie is more indifferent to it, like... if it happens, cool, if it doesn't, also cool.
For the thought experiment, though, we can assume they do.
I think that Chrissy is extremely--possibly to the point of overcompensating--careful not to force anything on her child. Like, she always wants to explain the reasoning behind every decision she makes, and give the kid a lot of autonomy. Not just "you have to hold my hand in the parking lot" but "here's why holding my hand is important and why I got scared when you wandered away from me when I was putting the groceries in the trunk."
I also think she would try so hard not to push her food issues onto a child, but that it would inevitably happen in some weird ways because there's so many different angles that a kid can get fucked up around food! So many!
So, yeah, all of this coalesces into... I think she would love so, so fiercely, but also be so afraid of messing her kid up that it takes her time to feel confident as a parent, and especially as a mother, because her relationship with her own mother was so cold and withholding. She feels like she doesn't have the programming to love a child properly, and it simply takes lived experience for her to realize that she can be maternal and caring in a specifically Chrissy way, and it doesn't have to look like how anyone else parents, because it works for her and for Eddie.
As for Eddie, I weirdly think he'd be the stricter of the two. He grew up without a lot of rules or boundaries, and I feel like he thrived more with Wayne and a bit of structure. Which isn't to say Wayne was strict--Eddie was selling drugs and on his third senior year--but Wayne had expectations, and he was the first person in Eddie's life who gave him some structure.
So, yeah. Eddie wants family dinner, and he wants to hear how everyone's day was, and he wants homework done before bed. But he also wants to understand why the homework is hard, or what happened at school that made a kid sad, and to treat them like little people, rather than little projects or little accomplices.
Ultimately, I think that's what makes both Eddie and Chrissy good parents, in the end. They both had childhoods where they were used as accessories to parental ambition, and they're bound and determined that their kids will not be pawns to their own agenda.
On the less psychological side, though, I think there'd be crazy creativity in the house, and awesome games, and a lot of "yes, and"-ing the wilder suggestions that the kid(s) come up with. Like, do I see Chrissy and Eddie in Chilli and Bandit Heeler? Yes, I 100% do, and yes, I am 100% the dork who watches Bluey.

flowers in the palace nmj is just like "ok, I will be 100% faithful to lxc, but I will also dad the fuck out of all the kids." He has dad energy that needs an outlet, ok?
Nie Mingjue has nine children and he loves all of them. He's a little more hands-off with his adopted kids because he's not involved with their moms (and in Jin Ling's case, because Jin Zixuan is still part of his life) but he adores every one. He taught them how to use their swords and ride horses, panicked through all their colds and fevers, and nearly had a heart attack when Jin Ling and Xiao-Yu both came down with smallpox during a tour. They recovered, but NMJ was very shaken for several months after.
Preview of the "found-records" fic below, discussing NMJ's relationship with his adopted kids! Note: Empress Zhangxing is Lan Xichen's posthumous title, bestowed about five years into Jingyi's reign.
"Researchers ______  and  _______ postulate that Nie Mingjue was not the father of either child,* citing the differences in rank between his nine sons and daughters. Empress Zhangxing’s four children were princes and princesses of the first rank, and this rank was extended to Lan Wangji’s adopted son Prince Qing after the Emperor discovered that the child was Empress Zhangxing’s first cousin.
"The same title was not given to Prince Zhen and Prince Zhao, who were born to Consort Zhuang and Consort Yi. If they were Chifeng’s biological sons, this would likely have been a point of contention in the harem. Instead, the two boys shared a rank with Imperial Concubine Ye’s adopted children, and seemed quite happy to do so. Both princes remembered Emperor Chifeng fondly in their diaries, and did not appear troubled by the greater favor and political power awarded to the three first-ranking princes.
"However, the leaders of the ___ project have submitted evidence that indicates a more straightforward explanation for the anomaly in ranking. Prince Zhen was a sickly infant and often received treatment from Imperial Physician Wen; when the child was two years old, Emperor Chifeng wrote in his diary that Wen-taiyi had warned him to limit Prince Zhen’s future martial training and keep him on a strict diet. Chifeng was desolate at the news, and employed a personal taiyi whose only duty was to care for the ailing prince.
"Upon recommendation from two additional doctors, he banned Prince Zhen from entering the military out of concern for his health. Prince Zhen’s duties in adulthood were reduced, since he could not fulfill the obligations of a qinwang; and when Nie Rulan was titled at the age of 21, he asked for a second-ranking prince’s estate out of respect for his older brother. According to custom, Nie Yunhai would not have been required (or permitted) to follow suit, since he was a di son born to the Empress."

More Prince of Tennis headcanons (cause I finally found all 179 eps!):
Every once and a while Tezuka will look down at Echizen and go “I would take a bullet for you” and Echizen just responds with “k” every. single. time
The team has given up on getting answers out of Tezuka. They’ve asked him a million times why he says this and every single time he acts like it didn’t happen
Fuji says “it’s like a reflex for him at this point” and that’s the closest thing to an answer the team will ever get
Sometimes when Echizen is being a smug little shit Oishi will just pick him up by his collar and carry him away. Like a mama cat wrangling her baby
I was reminded that Oishi comes from a family of doctors but the idea that he doesn’t know how to use a first aid kit properly makes me laugh
Kaido, Eiji, and Echizen would be the funniest trio ever. Cause I’m just imagining Echizen being an arrogant little shit and pissing someone off
Kaido getting mad at at said person when they get pissed off at Echizen and trying to start a fight with them
And Eiji being dramatic as fuck (cause you know… youngest child) and yelling shit like “yeah Kaido fuck him up he made chibi cry” while Echizen is trying to make himself cry on command
Honestly I’m kind of convinced that Inui’s drinks have made the team immortal. It would honestly be the least surprising plot twist of the whole series if Inui said “I’ve made us Devine beings”
I think they also wouldn’t be surprised I think they would all have the same reaction that’s something along the lines of “with all the hell you put us through the next one better give me fucking super powers”
Now like the queer bitch I am I will bring sexuality into this
I think Echizen is aroace or demi. I’ve been watching this little brats dumpster fire of a love life for 100 episodes and I can safely say I don’t think he wants or needs one
Tezuka: that’s a pansexual man if I’ve ever seen one. I just have a feeling that he wouldn’t be tripped up by things like gender
Fuji: demi I don’t know I just have a guttural feeling like you have to reach level 100 of friendship for Fuji to even think about looking at you romantically
Eiji: bisexual when this bitch showed up on screen doing his little flips and tricks I was like “that is a raging bisexual” just something about doing the most in something as simple as tennis gives of bi energy
Oishi also pansexual like Tezuka I feel like he wouldn’t really care about gender if he thinks they’re cute the he thinks they’re cute you know?
Momo another raging bisexual emphasis on the raging. He’s gotten into actually fights with people about his sexuality
The team has had to pull him off of people while he kicks and screams
The whole team secretly thought it was hilarious but they still had to “scold” him afterwards just to keep up appearances
Kaido also gives me demi vibes I don’t really know how to explain it other than it fits him
Inui is demi and ace this man will fall for one person and will stay in love until they do something irredeemable
Kawamura I can’t really tell if he’s 100% gay or 100% straight but something tells me it’s one of the two. Cause I can’t really picture anything else
Also coach Ryuzaki is a lesbian. Does she have a granddaughter? Yeah. Does that prove anything? No
I also can’t imagine anyone on the team being neurotypical like something tells me they’ve all gotten an adhd or autism diagnosis at one point in their life
Am I just projecting at this point? Absolutely. Can you stop me? NEVER!
You know that one tiktok audio that goes “we’ve both got autism haven’t we?” “Yeah” “well that’s good to know”
That’s Seigaku’s dynamic and a nutshell and I love it

fwiw, even setting aside the fact that severe physical punishment of a child certainly does constitute abuse (and some of what mike mccartney has described does sound severe) paul has also spoken about his father striking him across the face during arguments well into his teens: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fs1TYtUjoiI&t=2219s nobody’s living out victimization fantasies, fans are just interested in him as a person as well as a musician and it’s a valid line of analysis about his childhood! and one that is relevant to the history of the beatles and the dynamics within the band, since paul’s involvement with john was a major point of contention between paul and jim. i don’t think anyone’s suggesting that it was a matter of serious ongoing physical violence, but abuse takes many forms and there are plenty of indicators that paul’s relationship with his father was not 100% positive and had a dark side that paul tends not to discuss
so have we considered the swaggy fact that if paul doesn’t want to talk about it, maybe y’all shouldn’t pry into it?
while i agree that being physical with your child is not ok, let me lay out the difference for you: abuse is irrational, punishment has purpose. abuse leaves victims feeling worthless and questioning sanity. even with different definitions, the leap between harsh punishment and abuse is not yours to make for someone else.
paul has insisted time and time again that he loved his father. that he was harsh, but he’s forgiven him for it and maintained a good relationship. nothing about that indicates ptsd. ffs, if you wanna talk ptsd, talk about the loss of his mom. watch him shut down over that.
and even IF this was 100% abuse, and you’re convinced, why the FUCK are you obsessing over it? you absolute freak. do you think it’s some sort of game? that someone suffered for your theorizing? for your entertainment? does that not make you sick?
or have you experienced abuse and truly need help? is this a way of projecting? i’ve been there, and i promise you that it is not healthy. you deserve to feel worth again. if you feel this way, please talk to someone. here’s the DV helpline in the US: https://www.thehotline.org/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=domestic_violence
i appreciate that you care about him as a person. you seem young and sweet, and i know i was harsh with you, but i truly don’t think you feel the weight of the words exiting you. i encourage you to go into the real world, live life, have experiences, talk to the older generation, and learn some boundaries and respect for the person you claim to love.
now, can we PLEASE shut down this horrendous line of discourse? it’s shameful.

A Prophet In His Own Land chapter 3 nattering
Because I need to organize thoughts before I get going. Sorta-spoilers/things which I am 100% sure need to happen are under the cut:
Overall needs more rats and telenovelas, who the hell is this guy. Also at some point I need to invoke the Bible verse the title comes from I hope y’all have googled it.
I have a decade to morph Bruno from annoyingly stable to the canon’s shitshow. How do. Well obviously there’s violence, I mean that’s guaranteed, but who/why. Don’t let the kids see. He is p. fucked in the head still. Backsliding? That’d do it. Doubling down on tics and pulling away Just In Case.
Anyway, the wedding. The cute thing w/Tori and being Lu’s godparents because d’aww. This chapter is getting A Softer Prologue My Love.
Isa and Dolores’ prophecy. Involuntary?? Would he do it if they asked (no, also side rant omfg this BUGS ME canon why, Isa’s I get but not Lolo, there is no way he’d lay THAT on a literal child UGH).  Go the Lolo being into it at first route, or invoke Wrath of Pepa prompting more withdrawal?
The Bit With Mirabel’s Ceremony/Vision. Obligatory agonizing over going into the walls. I am so bored by this, maybe skip it lmao.
Wall things: concurrent with Talk of the Town, reacting to the granary fire + Antonio + the cruel irony of the vision of his happy family not being what he thought it was. Which I’m pretty sure is the flaw of my Bruno, what he thinks he Sees isn’t what happens, he misinterprets a lot. Maybe projecting some vague “stop having bad visions!” and trying to be optimistic but getting smacked down for his efforts. Or maybe it’s just a thing he did for a bit after el bruno loco, dragging himself out of misery by purposely trying to spin a Good story, and something (Bisabeula Martinez dying at Luisa’s birthday party, cough cough) sent him back into assuming the worst. Hmm hmm hmmmmm.
Post-canon self-indulgent touch-starved sweetness. I refuse to regret anything. Also extremely self-indulgent murdering Mercedes with words. “You know what I’ve always found funny?” oh YES. And Helena’s amazing closure, I cannot wait. MURAL DO-OVER.
The triplet’s 50th birthday no I don’t care what Jared says as far as I’m concerned Alma rounded up. Scene at the bridge mirroring/healing the 20th anniversary mess? Bring Jose (+ a new group of refugees) back for shits and giggles yes/hell yes/fuck yes???
Epilogue of Dolores and Mariano’s wedding. Happy endings all around, sorry guys I don’t have it in me to do anything but close on gentle fluff. All of these idiots have earned it as far as I’m concerned.

Feel the need to rant about this, but:
I really hate Dirge of Cerberus, not because it's camp for thrills or it's centered on one character (okay, maybe!), I hate it cause of how badly they messed up the core characters. Not the new characters like the Tsviets or Shelke (I actually like Shelke), I'm talking about it's main character and those he's connected to, which are Lucrecia and Hojo.
The game isn't very long and only has a longer run if you want to 100% everything and get the secret ending (oh God, please put Genesis back he doesn't need to come back despite him being a core character in the compilation). They have all the focus on Vincent and his backstory as a member of the Turks, but everything is from his perspective and memory which makes everything we see one sided.
And that doesn't help with fleshing out other characters cause we only get to see bits and pieces of what he sees in others and not how they actually are. We get one, maybe three if your pushing it, flashbacks where Vincent isn't the one retelling the story, those being the one where Lucrecia allows Vincent's father Grimoire to die, the one where Lucrecia finds Chaos's cave with Grimoire, and when Lucrecia is at her wits end and is planning on taking her own life.
Otherwise, everything is from Vincent's perspective, and with the focus on the love triangle between them and Hojo, it's not good storytelling.
We need flashbacks where Vincent isn't in them. We need to see a full flashback about Lucrecia's relationship with Grimoire so we can understand how attached she was to him and finally understand her deeper connection with Vincent (which has been taken over by fanon saying that she looked up to him because Grimoire actually liked hearing her thoughts and research to the point that she mistakes this for romantic advances and is in a relationship with him, which only contributes to her having an affair with Vincent because she fucked his father).
Believe it or not, but Hojo and Lucrecia genuinely loved each other and it's confirmed too by translated versions of character information about the og game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yeah! This is just the og game, and they threw that away when it came to Dirge of Cerberus, because they let a man who has no business putting his nose in their relationship try and intervene and talk about how bad this is going for Lucrecia. Thank God he got shot.
Oh, can I pose a theory? Even in Dirge, I still think Hojo experimented on Vincent, not Lucrecia. Sure, it was her research on Chaos and Omega that helped, but if Hojo wanted Vincent to suffer the most he would have put literal apocalypse in him. Lucrecia, sure, we'll say she was there to put him to rest when she thinks he's dead, but she wouldn't have been there long because she was degrading away and was suffering from the fact that her beloved husband killed her side piece and took her child away from her, probably with good intentions.
If Lucrecia was having second thoughts about the project because she was getting visions of meteorfall, it actually would have been best to keep her away so Sephiroth could live, and thus have the plot continue as normal. I'd even go as far to say that Hojo cared about Sephiroth living over his wife (cause he was probably angry and heartbroken when it was revealed that she was having an affair with her past fling's son).
Remember, Hojo wanted Sephiroth to succeed in his goals, it's why he was at the Sister Ray shooting mako at him to make him stronger and it's also the reason that Hojo even enacted the plan to wake Omega in Weiss's body. Even the digital reincarnation of Hojo loved Sephiroth enough to put the planet in danger.
Can we also talk about how Vincent had the chance to get more character development but didn't? Like, congratulations, you got over your guilt over shit that didn't even happen to you? He failed at his job to protect her, I'll admit that, but it wasn't his decision to have her be in the project, as I said before he shouldn't have put his two cents in there if he wanted to live.
Lucrecia made the conscious decision to have her baby as an experiment, and Vincent thinks that he should have protected her from that? His job was a body guard, he should have kept his mouth shut and his dick in his pants, and then he would have lived. Let the adult scientists in the project fight and argue amongst themselves to figure this out.
It's this type of shit that makes me think that Shelke was the only one that got any sort of development in the story, and she isn't even the main focus and has a connection with Vincent because she downloaded Lucrecia's personality and memory file. Shelke was taken from her home and away from her last living family member at a young age, she was brainwashed and conditioned to serve Deepground and the Tsviets by gathering information as concluded by her power set, she rekindled her relationship with her sister years later and learned that people genuinely think she's important to them and not a pawn to further their goals, and even helps Vincent in his moments fighting Omega and Weiss through their connection with Lucrecia cause she knows that's who Vincent will gain power from (cause literally the day is saved by the power of fucking friendship and love, I guess).
She actually gets development, she goes from point A to point B through through the whole story and even gets a happy ending, but it's Vincent who we focus on, even though his character arc could have come to a close in the og game by having him face the fact that he isn't responsible for what Lucrecia got herself into and that he should move on. WE GET A WHOLE GAME ABOUT VINCENT WHEN HIS ARC COULD HAVE CONCLUDED IN THE OG GAME! HOW FUCKING STUPID IS THAT.
Plus, I feel we need more characterization in our big three. We see bits of Vincent in flashbacks being this emo motherfucker and that he is actually terrible at his job. Hojo is one note through the whole game, and thats a problem because he's seen through Vincent's memories. How about we see Hojo and Vincent bickering and having heated discussions, about their families, and Lucrecia.
Why don't we get information about Hojo and his relationship with Gast, since it was said that he has an inferiority complex. Why don't we get to see what he was (cause I fucking despise how they use the same model for Hojo in past and present), a young know-it-all upstart with ideas to progress the world of science through new discoveries and who doesn't take no for an answer when it comes to those who try to limit his pursuit of knowledge. He's batshit crazy because he wants answers and won't hesitate to hurt others if it means he gets answers.
And Lucrecia! I hate to say it, but she isn't innocent either! She knew how far she would stray from ethics when she married Hojo and took to being his assistant. How she would look at him with determination and promise to learn everything she wants to know. How maybe Hojo actually listened to her about her theories and her research, despite the fact that he doesn't believe in it he's still willing to listen cause she listened to him. How she wouldn't even flinch when it came to science. But I also want her to struggle keeping Vincent around with her guilt over letting Grimoire die and her new powerful relationship with Hojo. I want to see her struggle trying to find ways to have both at her fingertips.
But that's too much for Squeenix, I guess. And I have a feeling that future installments of remake and new games like Ever Crisis is going to keep fucking it up. At this point, I'm just rambling. More gremlin Lucrecia, most soft and vulnerable Hojo, more actual development for Vincent. That's all I ask.

Miracle Worker 6
Chapter 6 out of 10
Mike has dropped out of High School at sixteen to take on a full time job as a bike delivery boy to take care of Grammy. He lies that he’s eighteen to get better hours and more pay, somehow ending up working for Harvey on a project that will get him Senior Partnership. Mike and Harvey become friends during the course of it, Mike looking up to Harvey as all he wants to be, but probably never will. However, when things go south with Grammy, he considers taking Trevor’s offer to do a drug run, instead ending up with Harvey offering to be his mentor. Offering him help.
In this chapter, a switch to Harvey’s POV as he works through his anger at Mike fighting against the – god forbid – caring he’s been doing. Especially when Mike calls him from the hospital, having no one else to turn to.
On AO3.

You
Harvey doesn’t know how fast his day has changed. He sits in his darkening office staring at the now vacant hallway and tries to remember how today got from A to B.
Mike…
Fucking hell, that kid. Literally.
Like a genuine 100% child.
Holy shit.
The reality of the whole situation is slowly sinking in and Harvey finally has the breakdown that has been brewing ever since Mike came into his office, looking like a man on a mission with terrible news.
He had unknowingly hired a child. Someone who should be in school, not working late hours, because Harvey demanded it. God, he had broken a few laws just by signing the kid under those conditions, even if he hadn’t known.
Not to mention that the kid lied on his application and signed not only under a false name but with a fake ID. Mike Ross, he repeated the name in his mind. Not Mike Sorkin, who he had been first introduced to. He wondered why on earth Mike had chosen that last name, a small part of him glad the kid hadn’t changed his first name as well.
Though perhaps if the whole person he had interacted with was fake, it would be easier to watch him go, in tears and on the point of breaking.
No, he can’t think about it. Mike made his own choices and Harvey has learned long ago to let anchors go. He does know now, but he didn’t know then and he can still prove that he had no bond with Mike beyond that of a boss. He is not the kid’s friend – and fuck if he was that would be even more questionable, cringing at the times he had been alone with Mike in the office lat at night – it had never been like that, of course not, but he doesn’t want to think of how that could be misconstrued.
‘I don’t see another way,’ an unspoken plea for a way hanging in the air.
Mike’s words still ring through his head. The desperation in them, how he practically begged Harvey to help him, to reach out a hand and pull him out of the mess he had found himself in this time.
And Harvey wanted to. He can admit that a small part of him has grown fond of the kid, who came crashing into his life with feet as fast as his mouth and a mind as sharp as a razor. A well of wasted potential, caught in a bad place.
Harvey wanted to nurture that, help him become the best version of himself that he could be, much like Jessica had done for him.
But this is different. So very different. Harvey had been a screw up, sure, but not to that extend and he had never lied to Jessica, never made her risk everything for him. He knew better than that. He grew under her, because he worked to get his shit together, not get himself into more trouble so that she had to pull him out off again.
‘I don’t see another way.’
Those words won’t leave him alone. He hadn’t had many options either, but he was working an honest job and getting by when Jessica found him, not in a place so hopeless that a drug delivery seemed like the best option if he wanted to survive, not even live, just survive. And barely at that.
Yet, he can’t offer Mike the help he wants. He just can’t.
Harvey has worked too hard to get where he is. He pulled himself out with the littlest help from Jessica. He worked to get into Harvard, he worked to make her proud there, he worked in the DA’s office until he was wrung out so that he’d be ready for Pearson Hardman, he worked his ass of here and now he is so close to becoming Senior Partner. To making it. He can’t flush all those years down the drain for a kid he barely knows.
A small voice whispers: but you know he wants to be a lawyer, you know he likes action movies, but also The Devil Wears Prada, you know how hard he works, pulling of miracles left and right, you know his parents died and that he has a big heart and a healthy fear of Donna.
He squashes that voice down with the betrayal. How can he know that is true? How can he know it’s not all a lie. He hates not knowing people, he hates when someone blind-sights him and this fucking kid not only made a fool out of him, he expected help afterwards too.
The anger is safer, more familiar and easier than all the other emotions, so he focuses on that, riling himself up until he can convince him that he shouldn’t come to Mike’s aid. The kid made his own bed, he can lie in it.
Harvey isn’t required to care about the cards he’d been dealt, about the lack of a guide that brought Mike there. He is known for not caring, why should this bright eyed kid get under his skin and break that uncaring streak?
So, he decides not to care, turns off that knob and throws himself in the paperwork, anger simmering below the surface for the entire weekend.
When he comes into the office on Monday Donna knows something is up immediately, frowning as she regards him before following him into the office. “You’re wearing lavender tie, the last time you did that was when Markus was in the hospital. Oh my god, either your mother is back in your life or something bad happened with Mike and you’re feeling guilty about it.”
“I’m not feeling guilty about it,” he snaps. “And contrary to what you think, I don’t dress to my moods.”
“But you don’t deny something happened?” she pushes, ignoring his sour mood.
“Something happened alright,” Harvey growls, if Donna is going to push, she’s going to get brutal honesty. “He lied to not just me and you, but to his own boss and Pearson Hardman too. And if he wants to, he can tear us down, so you’re going to find out everything you can about Mike Ross, because that is his name and you’re going to find me something I can use against him should it come to it. No, I don’t care that he’s actually sixteen.”
If it were another day, he would have relished in Donna’s speechless spluttering, before she manages a choked off: “What?”
“Exactly my reaction,” Harvey says. “Now, I have important paperwork to finish up, because I want to leave this whole merger behind me.”
It is a clear dismissal and for once in her life, Donna doesn’t argue, just turning around and clicking off to her desk. For a split second he’s disappointed she doesn’t stay to yell at him, before convincing him to help anyway, remembering that tomorrow Mike is fucking up his life in its entirety.
But he shakes that off as well and continues reading over the fine print he was working on before he left yesterday.
In the afternoon, Jessica comes to congratulate him on his win. He manages to play his pleased self as he accepts the compliments, but he can’t help but note how last Friday afternoon he would have mentioned Mike’s roll, which he now keeps out.
He wants to ask Jessica how she knew he was worth the trouble, however, if he does he’ll tip her off to perhaps his biggest mistake and he wants to prevent that, still hoping he’ll get his promotion and it would be admitting to himself that he is still considering helping Mike.
Because he isn’t. He isn’t remembering the first time he noticed Mike, standing in Louis’ office, looking all sorts of uncomfortable. Not thinking of how he’d already been pissed about the case, so having the chance to blow off some steam by yelling at Louis, while also helping a kid, who still had a zit on his forehead, and how that kid had already delivered files Harvey didn’t expect for another hour.
He’s not remembering the first time he called on Mike and he stood outside his office, gasping like a drowning man, having managed to deliver the files with some time left on the clock Harvey put in place for pressure more than anything. Not thinking about how awkward Mike had looked, standing outside his office, rubbing his nose, but holding his gaze for a second anyway.
And he is not thinking about how much he laughed when he heard what Mike did to Tanner, not thinking about Mike wriggling a cookie out of Donna as easily as he breathes, while Harvey has to beg her and still gets a no, not thinking about Mike running into Jessica’s office, impressing her while also having the balls to inquire about pay.
Most of all, he isn’t remembering what he told Donna. That Mike reminds him off himself when he was younger.
He could lie and say Mike reminds him off Markus, his beloved younger brother, who has tried a thousand things and was equally down on his luck as Harvey. The younger boy following his brother around, trying to impress him and prove himself.
But that would be a lie, because while Mike has tried to impress him, he did so effortlessly, succeeding not just where Harvey expected, but coming out of nowhere with an incredible brain that isn’t just book smarts, but an analytical mind clearly shining through.
He might be starstruck by Harvey, but he didn’t mindlessly trail after him, he defied some orders, read documents he wasn’t supposed to, interrupted meetings with lunch and chattering when expectations are quiet coming and going. He didn’t let anyone put him in the corner and knew how to bite back.
In all that, he reminds Harvey of himself, a bitter boy in a mail room where people dumber than him were higher on the ladder.
He could have never prepared for that.
Harvey could have never expected the fast delivery kid, who was surprised he knew comics to point out an exploit in his own contract, to throw out movie quotes of the classics, to memorize Donna’s coffee order, because he saw it once, to have so much insight into the four CEOs just because he interacted with them everyday.
And he never expected Mike to be the one, who found the leverage needed to push the merger into the right direction when it was starting to look like it was going to drag on for a few months more at the least.
No, nothing could have prepared him from that, not even the bouts of smarts he had witnessed before.
Fuck, no, he isn’t going to go there, he’s not going to think about it. He wasn’t thinking about it. He is going to be mad at Mike, about how he lied, not think about how much the kid brightened his days and how he had seen the potential brimming under the surface, just needing a mentor to guide him there. How Mike is going to fuck up his chance at the future Harvey knows he can have tomorrow.
This? This right here is why Harvey tries not to care.
Because he does care for Mike. The feelings remind him of how he used to look at Markus back when they were kids, but it doesn’t compare to that either. Harvey isn’t just proud of what Mike accomplished and upset about what happened to him, no, he wants to help him, make sure he’s okay, ensure he has a future.
It’s like being an older brother, but deeper, so much deeper. He wonders if this is how Jessica felt about him and throws the thought away as ludicrous.
A tiny voice in the back of his mind whispers how this might be how his father felt about him and he pushes that voice away with anger. He’s not letting the lying, down on his luck, helpless- no, betraying little shit come close to the memory of his father.
And he clings to that, reminding himself that anger is safe, he knows anger. He can loose himself in anger and try not to think about the fact that he’s more angry at the universe for what it did to Mike than Mike himself.
Donna doesn’t really speak to him for the entire day and Harvey can’t even bring himself to care that his oldest friend doesn’t even want to talk to him. She doesn’t understand what Mike did, she doesn’t get it, she doesn’t know what Mike is going to do.
Still, he doesn’t ask if she has found anything on Mike yet and when he comes in the next day to find a folder on his desk, he is afraid to look at it. It’s easier not to care when you can pretend the other is lying about how bad it is.
So, he doesn’t open the folder, instead staring at it as if it will clear up his mind about what to do, even if he tries to tell himself he has already made a decision. It is Tuesday now, he is too late to change anything. Besides, he has decided not to care about Mike Ross. Even if his gut is telling him to reach out, because something will go wrong.
He thinks he has managed to squash that feeling, until his phone starts to ring and he picks up without hesitation as if he has been waiting on this call the entire time.
“Harvey?” The fact that it’s Mike shouldn’t be so relieving, the feeling is drowned under unwanted worry at the soft and careful tone.
“Yeah, Mike,” Harvey can’t pretend he wants to hang up, that doesn’t want to know what happened. He does hide it, however. “Do I need to come bail you out?”
“No,” Mike answers.
“No?” Harvey repeats unable to help his surprise.
“You-” Mike hesitates, “you do need to come break me out of the hospital.”
“The what?” The relief at Mike being okay and not in jail is immediately swept away as Harvey conjures all sorts of horrible images. He demands: “What the fuck happened?”
“I fell of my bike before I could get to Trevor’s,” Mike admits sheepishly. “I broke my arm, the radius bone, and they put it in a cast. I’m fine, but they won’t let me go without an adult, which is stupid, by the way. So, I- I told them I was calling an uncle...” he trails off uncertainly, obviously waiting for Harvey to explode again.
Harvey rubs his face tiredly, wondering if he’s going to let himself be pulled into another one of Mike lies, while already knowing that he is. Still, he asks: “Why did you say that?”
“In the hopes that you would come get me and if you did that they wouldn't question why a random older man is picking me up,” Mike explains, before adding: “I’m sorry, I didn’t have anyone else to ask.”
‘I don’t see another way.’
Again Mike is so far down on his luck that despite all that happened between them on Friday, he’s calling Harvey. His drug dealing friend not even there for him, though Harvey is hardly surprised at that.
But he also remembers the unspoken request for another way. Harvey has denied too long that he won’t be able to let Mike go and do this and now it seems the universe is giving him another push to prevent Mike ruining his chances.
“What hospital are you at?” he asks, already sending Ray a text to come meet him at the office right away.
“The Brooklyn Hospital Center,” Mike answers, relief in his voice, which Harvey ignores. He is only pulling him out of this fire, just one last time. He isn’t sticking around again, he going to let himself get that closure and then move on from this whole fiasco.
“I’ll be there,” he says, hanging up the phone, before telling Donna to cancel his meetings for the day as he leaves. Unsure as to why he takes the folder on his desk with him.
It’s only a half hour drive and Ray (a hero in his own right, honestly) doesn’t say anything, just plays soft blues.
Harvey finally finds it within himself to open the file.
A picture of Mike stares back at him, a school picture. In it, Mike looks happy, smiling brightly into the camera. It’s dated to last year.
He quickly scans through it, reading of the tragedy of Mr. and Mrs. Ross, who died five years ago and the settlement Edith Ross, the famed Grammy, had taken. But other than that, Harvey reads of a successful young man, who worked through some anger, but thrived in High School, leading the debate team and winning with his decathlon team.
Then Mike started skipping classes more often, teachers noting him getting troubled. A sudden change in the bright boy, before he dropped of the radar.
According to school administration, Mike wanted to be the same age as his peers before getting into college, didn’t think classes were right for him and a whole bunch of other bullshit Harvey could easily see through as he held Edith’s work history in his hands.
Harvey had torn up his own home, unable to stand it any longer. He’d been self sufficient and away from it all as he tore it to pieces and watched it burn before walking away. But Mike had watched his loving home crumble around him, doing everything to keep it together, to hold on to the pieces he knew.
It just isn’t fair. Harvey gets that now.
He is almost glad that they have arrived and he can put the mess in his head aside for a moment to focus on the situation at hand. He tells Ray he doesn’t know how long it’ll take and that he will call when he needs to be picked up, but that Ray should stay in the area.
Ray nods and gets back in the car, driving off as he leaves Harvey to face whatever will happen in the hospital building that now seems to loom over him. It’s a ridiculous notion and he puts it out of his mind as he gathers up his his arrogant self, before barging in there like he has a clue about what he’s doing there exactly.
The emergency room is busy, but not busy-busy and he spots Mike easily enough. The boy hasn’t seen him yet and he has a moment to take in how his shoulders are slumped, how exhaustion seems to cling to his every fiber.
Once Harvey calls out his name, he perks up, brightening slightly when he sees Harvey, something the man tries not to think about. He makes his way over to Mike, inspecting the kid closer. He has bruises under his eyes, but more prominently a scraped open chin and an arm in a plain white cast that doesn’t fit him. Still, his eyes are clear and he meets Harvey’s head on, not entirely unafraid, but ready to put up a fight if necessary.
Harvey crosses his arms and says: “Explain.”
All the fight leaves Mike. An uncomfortably devoid and helpless look returns as he sighs deeply: “I fell of my bike.”
“So you said already,” Harvey says, waiting for a better explanation.
“A car nearly clipped me, so I swerved and hit the sidewalk. Send me flying,” Mike tells him.
“And why isn’t your friend here right now?” Harvey asks pointedly.
Mike bites his lip, looking frustrated. “I called him,” he grits out after a moment. “I told him I fell and was about to tell him I was at the hospital when he got mad at me about excuses and flaking on him, before hanging up. He didn’t pick up the second time.”
A pang of sadness goes through Harvey as he imagines Mike calling his – apparently – only friend, who left him hanging.
“And your grandmother?” he asks, pushing those feelings aside. He isn’t sure why Mike wouldn't want the comforts of his closest family, the one he was willing to risk it all for.
The kid lets out a bitter laugh that no one that young should have mastered. “And that will help me how? If I’m lucky, she won’t know who I am and not care, still leaving me here. Or she’ll know and worry herself into the grave, unable to help me. Or she’ll remember partly and think I’m my father, who she’s losing all over again. She can’t help me.” The ‘you can’ hanging between them.
Behind Harvey’s eyes the picture from the file flashes. The bright grin now seeming like an outlandish thing on Mike’s beaten and defeated face.
Mike has been pushed beyond his limit. He has found himself helpless and alone, pulling a Hail Mary by calling Harvey while he waits for that to blow up in his face again. He is only sixteen and has already lost faith in the world.
It’s just not right.
Harvey lost a bit of faith in the world at sixteen when he caught his mother with another man, but he still could believe in right and wrong. In the fact that good things came to those who worked hard, while the bad would get punished. He still had his brother and his father and his baseball team, but Mike is all alone.
This bright kid – who took Harvey by storm without even trying, who is always lively, making jokes and comments, who broke past walls and cemented his place into Harvey’s world – is now sitting there, small and pale.
He has already partially admitted to himself that he cares about Mike, that he feels protective and, god strike him down, parental towards him. But all of that hits him again as he looks at him, bitterly asking him what his grandmother could do for him now. Now that he is so far gone.
A plan is forming in his mind. It is insane and he shouldn’t even think about doing it, but it’s already too late. He is not known for backing down and he thinks he sealed his fate when he picked up that file, or even the phone.
Mike deserves a future.
Mike deserves a chance, just like Harvey got.
Something has to change and Harvey isn’t going to stand by idly again.
~~
A/N:
HAHA SIKE! Last chapter was a feint, Harvey does care XP
It’s really fun to do a Harvey POV, I’ve been wanting to do it since I started and I wondered how I would fit it in, but I felt like this is a good moment to get a feel for what Harvey is thinking about the whole thing. I’ve never liked dragging out conflict, so this was a good way to push them back without Harvey doing a sudden 180 without explanation (from Mike’s POV at least) :D

Ok about my cruel!AU, or the YD!AU as I've been calling it-
I have a stupid nickname for this Millie as I often do with many of my AU characters (e.g Vanny as "the vanilla rabbit", Michael as "the son and heir"), Millie's out of universe nickname is "the unfortunate girl". That's not related to anything about the AU itself I just like the nickname.
Millie x Dylan x Brooke is sort of canon in this AU, they're not officially dating but that's about the only factor keeping it from being 100% canon. YD!Millie isn't really in a good mental space to be in a relationship, so not labeling it allows her to receive that love without feeling trapped by the commitment.
I've come to the realization my Millie probably has BPD bc that is literally just a projection of a big relationship issue due to my BPD OOP-
Oh well.
Anyways, as for Millie's grandpa, he and his relationship with Millie are... complicated.
Since Millie's grandma died, Maurice- who was never really the best person to begin with- has just wanted a nice normal family, in which Millie was a major issue due to her pessimistic attitude and actions reminding him all too much of his past as a child, which he believes he's gotten "better" from and wants to make sure Millie gets "better" from as well. He programs Funtime Freddy to scare her into changing due to her consistent "bad" and moody behavior that she refuses to shake to the point it begins to encroach on the family's Christmas. He scares Millie again into keeping his actions a secret, though through concern and determination for their friend Dylan and Brooke over time get her to crack. He's controlling of what she can and can't do. She can't act out against him, be moody or harsh, push him away, refuse meals, make an excessive fuss about minor things, play her music loudly, obsess over death, tell ANYONE what he did, EVER, or hang out with people he doesn't approve of. She can dress goth and hide in her room, since he thinks letting her keep that will help her cope and realize he was right to do what he did, which he fucking wasn't. And of course he's not going to make her throw away her entire wardrobe or force her to be social. It's just not logical or ethical. Furthermore, he wants her to be happy, and forcing her into constant distress will only make her worse.
Maurice at first has no reason to be disapproving of Dylan and Brooke. They're kind kids who care about his granddaughter and seem to be good for him. But over time, he begins to notice a slight shift in their behavior. He's not an expert on body language, but he notices how Dylan- who usually wears a leather jacket- will often take off his jacket and pass it to Millie or drape it over her shoulders if he's nearby for an extended time. He'll speak louder to sound more confident, and casually mention often how he doesn't like adults, always making a point to say that doesn't apply to Maurice. (The repetition of the initial negative phrase over time will cancel out the impact of the positive follow-up. Fun trick I've learned for telling people I fucking hate them.) Brooke, who's usually pretty affectionate anyway, will run her fingers through Millie's hair, increase the amount of times she praises or compliments Millie tenfold, her tone becomes icy when speaking to Maurice, and between the two of them, they will get a lot physically closer to Millie when he's around for a long time, going from sitting next to her on the ground to laying on top of her, one of each of their legs straddled around her back and one arm meeting the other's over her shoulders. It's a strange display given Maurice is perfectly kind to Millie now that she's "improving" (with a controlling catch of course), but Millie adamantly denies having told them anything and when he casually brings up Funtime Freddy in a conversation, they seem to have no visible external reaction, so he keeps an eye on them and begins trying to limit Millie's time around them, but eventually deems that a mostly useless endeavor since they go to the same school though he's always sure to remind Millie how he doesn't really like those two whenever she wants to hang out.
The YD!AU?
Ok, now I'm really invested in this AU, I love them sm- (except Maurice, he can get shoved down a flight of stairs for all I care-)

has jason ever on page objected to the concept of 'child soldiers' the way he so often does in fanon? as far as i remember he never did in utrh which i read fairly recently. as far as i can tell his beef with bruce is entirely driven by resentment of the fact that bruce won't 'do what needs to be done' and any objection he has about tim is more about being replaced than it is about the idea that batman put another child in danger. which like,, meshes better with the dc precedent that superhero sidekicks aren't explicitly bad but fandom brings it up so often i can't help but wonder.
Nah, as far as I can recall that's a fanon thing.
I think the closest is him calling the idea of Batman having a teen sidekick a mistake while he was in the middle of beating the shit out of Tim:
Tumblr media
(Teen Titans Vol. 3 #29)
But… with any sort of context about Jason and other things going on with him, this doesn't read like he has a problem with 'child soldiers'/teenage vigilantes as a general concept- it's not like he says 'training a teenager to be a vigilante' is the mistake, it's specifically Bruce 'training a teenager to fight against something he'll never eradicate'. Jason's problem here is still 100% rooted in his anger at Bruce and how Bruce handles Gotham. It’s a 'My death didn't change anything- it didn't make Bruce kill Joker and didn't even stop him from bringing more people into this cycle who will just inevitably end up getting hurt/killed like me’ sort of thing, elements of that have been expressed elsewhere like UTRH:
Tumblr media
(Batman #650)
And also makes me think of this bit in Lost Days:
Tumblr media
(Red Hood: The Lost Days #2)
It’s all coming from that same place, of Jason being angry about (and hurt by) Bruce refusing to kill the Joker/the bad guys. When he says Bruce never 'gave a damn about any of us', I imagine the 'us' means 'all the people Bruce involves in hero work' (just a page or so before he mentions Alfred & Dick so like, its the implication). It's Jason saying that by choosing his methods, Bruce is actively endangering the people he involves in the Batfam and that if he really cared about them he would just kill the bad guys- that his own death should have been that turning point. So, at core, I believe Jason was really calling that act of bringing anyone (just especially a kid) into his whole never-ending (because Jason sees killing as the only way to truly ‘end’ it, for things to ever change) fight that he cares about above all else a mistake- not because of some grander moral stance on child soldiers but because he thinks Bruce’s whole approach is a mistake.
Like, it’s just Jason projecting his feelings onto the situation while trying to demoralize Tim (because that’s another factor- he’s saying this during a fight with Tim where he’s… trying to fuck with Tim’s head! Insisting that Tim’s whole current life path is a mistake his mentor made is… part of that!)
And like... here's the thing. I know a lot of people love the 'child protector' Jason idea, I think that goes often hand in hand with the idea of him being against 'child soldiers' in fanon, but especially with pre-reboot Jason... That just doesn’t consistently mesh with what we’re presented!
While I don't think he'd go out of his way to target kids, and he in general thinks kids should be protected and doesn't want harm to come to them (like, he goes through all that effort in Lost Days to take down the child traffickers and save those kids)... Jason is just... not above sacrificing/hurting kids for what he sees as the greater good/for following through with his plans (Remember that time during Battle for the Cowl he shot Damian, his 10 year old brother, for getting in his way?). And he's definitely not against involving teens in vigilante stuff as a general rule. He just doesn't like Bruce doing it because he’s got a whole slew of problems with how Bruce does everything.
Like, for example, Jason himself tried to recruit a teen hero (Mia Dearden) to work with him (and this story was even written by Winick, so like, theoretically this in particular is consistent with his UTRH outlook/ideology)
Tumblr media
(Green Arrow Vol. 3 #72)
And at one point he advocated to Tim (while... trying to get him to work with him) for using 'kid gangs' as fodder during a whole gang war erupting in Gotham:
Tumblr media
(Robin (1993) #177)
...and shortly after that he tries to get Tim to be his Robin during Battle for the Cowl too.
And after BftC he did eventually get his own teen sidekick, Scarlet/Sasha.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Batman and Robin (2009) #4)
And while I was mostly talking pre-reboot here, even post-reboot Jason repeatedly ends up working with kids/teens, like Duela Dent
Tumblr media
(Red Hood/Arsenal #6)
Who at that time was apparently around the age Jason was when he died:
Tumblr media
(Red Hood/Arsenal #10)
And also... all the Generation Outlaws kids who are literally his students in trying to become villains:
Tumblr media
(Red Hood and the Outlaws (2016) #37)
...So yeah, I super don't recall his general stance on 'child soldiers'/teens being vigilantes really changing even with the reboot. (Though I do think post-reboot Jason would not really be willing to sacrifice kids the same way pre-reboot Jason would)

It’s all for his sake - Endeavor and the Sunk Cost Fallacy
My hero academia 301 is a pretty interesting chapter, but for me, the most notable piece of it was how Endeavour reacted to the realization that Touya couldnt surpass All Might.
Tumblr media
upon realizing that his son might not be able to do it because of inborn physical limitations, he immediatly stopped his training, which frankly was the responsible and adult thing to do.
This stint of real parenthood did not last long however.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
After taking the matter to a doctor, he is flat out told that not only cant Touya achive what endeavor wants, but it is a direct result of his incredibly selfish and irresponsible attempt to play god, by trying to breed the “perfect” hero into being.
Tumblr media
It is how you react when you lose however, that shows who you really are, and endeavor illustrates that very, very well.
Upon being told in no uncertain terms that his attempts at Breeding an heir failed magnificently, producing a child that was not capable of resisting his own immense power, but also admonished by his doctor for even attempting it, and adviced not to try again, Endeavor instead doubled down, while focusing on the child he screwed over from the start with his attempt at genetic manipulation.
It was all for him you see. Endeavor doesnt use those words, but that is how he spins it here. it was all for Touya, all for his sake. if i stop now, then Touya was all for nothing, a mistake, im doing this for my son.
if im doing this for my son, then im not responsible for any of this.
his wife however, calls him out on it, as she understands Touya much, much more than endeavor does. or rather, she sees him fully as a human being, instead of as a thing, a weapon, a failed attempt at an heir.
Tumblr media
Unlike Endeavor, Rei is able to see the way this all is affecting her son. She is able to see, and understand that Touya has fully accepted what Endeavor wanted him to be. a stronger, and better version of himself. however, unlike Endeavor, she only cares about him as a person.
Endeavour by comparison isnt completely uncaring about Touya. like most abusive parents, he does possess love for his offspring, but it is forever tainted by the fact that however much he might care, or not care about Touya, any familial love he has for his son is tainted by the fact that to Endeavor, he is a failed experiment, a failed heir, not his child.
He is the golden child that Endeavor was building up as his true and only heir, who he breed, trained, and molded to for that single purpose, and now that he’s reached a point where he cant continue that legacy.
so, its time to abandon him, and start over new, despite literarily having just learned how stupid this plan was, and that it can, in fact, go completely wrong, with a quirk that will fuck over the person he brings into the world.
Of course, Endeavor doesnt use those words to frame it. there is no way to pretend to be a hero, if you phrase it like that after all. Intead, this is the words he uses.
Tumblr media
this is a very important series of panels for a great number of reasons, some that can be debated, argued, and we will probably never know the full truth to the questions because this is a series published in 2020′s shonen jump, and there are things that probably wasnt gonna fly with Hori’s editors, if it was the case.
but lets start with what can not be debated. Endeavor’s words here.
“If we want him to give it up, then we have no choice... Touya... Cant surpass him.”
These are very telling words, and however you believe The third and fourth children of the Todoroki family was concieved, there is not denying the meaning of what he’s saying here.
The only way that my son will stop being an idiot and fall into line, is if we have another baby. that is the only Right way to move forward. it is morally right, because if we dont do this, then he’s going to destroy himself.
there are two ways to interpret this scene.
The charitable way is to read it as the fact that he used Rei’s oldest son’s mental state as a justification of guilting his wife to have a third child, to give this attempt at a superpowered breeding project another shot, despite the fact that they now know that this can lead to a child who is essentially born crippled from his own powers, and despite the fact that Rei obviously understands the effect of them continuing this insanity will have on their oldest son.
the uncharitable way to look at it, is that he used this as justification for flat out raping her, and forcing a third, and then later a fourth child on her.
I personally believe the last one, given a number of factors shown in this chapter(the way this page is framed, the fact Rei obviously didnt want a third child, given she predicted exactly how touya would react, the way her eyes would latet turn when she looks at who is presumably touya which really brings to mind how she would later react to her youngest son’s face after her mental breakdown, etc.), but i’ll frankly admitt that withouth a direct quote from Hori, its impossible to know for sure one way or another.
either way however, this is a very good example of Endeavor both being influenced by, and using Sunk Cost Fallacy to justify bringing another potentially crippled child into the world for his own, selfish goals.
sunk cost Fallacy, is a mental reaction to when you invest more time and resources into a project, that you becomes so emotionally invested into said project that you will continue to invest into it, even if it reaches a point that it becomes clear that the resources you put into it, far, far outweighs the potential gains you can achieve.
because if you give up after having invested years, and years of effort to breed, raise, and train a kid, and then all that effort was absolutely wasted. hence he choose to keep going, despite having learned what a terrible idea this is.
He doesnt care about the fact that his next child might be even more crippled than his firstborn, he doesnt care about his son’s actual wellbeing. he cares about the fact that if he doesnt continue this insanity, then not only will he not achieve his dreams, but everything he did to get to this point was for absolutely nothing.
and endeavor cannot accept that. and so long as he can justify breeding more children into the world, and there being any chance they might inherit both quirks perfectly, he doesnt care about anything else.
Tumblr media
and the moment he realised that this kid wasnt gonna cut it either, he did it again. it is not a coincidence, that the age gap between Endeavor’s second, third, and fourth children were all 3-4 years apart. because thats the age where you can usually tell when a quirk will manifest or not, as established earlier in the series.
While she isnt brought up directly by Endeavor as a justification, it is very telling that Endeavor decided on having a third child, only after his second child was old enough that he could tell that that there was no chance she could take the place as his heir instead.
So, he had his third child, and as time passed and it became obvious that he wasn’t gonna be able to fulfill Endeavor’s goals either, he dumped him, and instead breed a fourth child into existence.
and finally, he struck gold. he did it. he produced Shoto.
Tumblr media
everything was finally worth it, and now, everything would be absolutely fine. the cost fallacy had reached its end, and it was now all full sails ahead.
except of course it wasnt.
His oldest son, now in middle school, had been raised from birth to believe he would surpass his father, only to be thrown away, and getting to see his father try to replace him, not once, but twice.
Tumblr media
frankly, this scene is probably my favorite in the chapter, because it goes to show Endeavor’s mindset. Natsuo made a point that their father completely ignored his older children. and he did... from Natsuo’s perspective. however, having a more thourough picture of things, we can clearly see that this wasnt the case with Touya.
Endeavor genuinly cared for Touya, enough that once he got that child he tried to breed into existence 4 times, he genuinly wanted him to just abandon trying to be a hero. he genuinly thinks of himself as a good dad here, wanting his son to abandon the mission he set out for him before he was born. of course, with context, this heartwarming scene is incredibly sad and insidious, because we understand why Endeavor got so attached to his oldest child. because he WAS the golden child. he was the child Endeavor genuinly cared about, and invested in, and trained personally with great warmth and enthusiasm.
And not only did he abandon him as a failed project the moment he realized he wasnt gonna live up to his ridiculous standards, but he literarily created 2 more kids to try and replace him, just as his oldest son was old enough to understand what exactly his dad was doing. over the course of this chapter, we get to see Touya’s start as a 5-8 year old, his deteriorating mental state over the years, until he finally seemed to reach the breaking point with Shoto’s birth sometime in his middle school years 12-15.
Endeavor is in this scene, just not capable of understanding why Touya so desperately wants to become a hero, when obviously he isnt physically able to do so. he isnt able to understand that he is 100% to blame for the fact that his son is having a full emotional breakdown after literaly being replaced by his siblings.
In other words, Endeavor genuinly think’s he’s a good person. a person who has made a few mistakes along the way sure, but a person who was always justified in the end, and now that he’s having to face the fact that as dabi would later say “The past never dies” and has to face the aftermath of his inane attempt to play god for the pettiest of reasons, things simply arent going to work out.
He isnt going to have a happy family, who can now put the awful early years behind them, he put way too much effort, caused too much suffering and sacrificed too many years of his life for this not to work out as he wants.
after all, if he walks away from this project now, and lets Shoto have a normal childhood, and decide for himself, with no pressure from him, wheter or not to become a hero, then the sunk cost fallacy will have reached a negative end. it will all have been for nothing.
and we know he did eventually double down on this mentality, literarily beating into Shoto that he WAS going to become a hero, and there was not but’s or no’s about it.
there was no way that Endeavor was EVER going to let things be for nothing. His treatment of his older children could not be for nothing. His treatment of his wife could not be for nothing. His treatment of Shoto, and the way he beat him black and blue to train him, could not be for nothing.
Because if it all was for nothing, if everything he feels guilty about was for absolutely nothing, then he was in fact, a bad, bad person, who had no justification for anything he ever did.

I have Cassandra Dimitrescu brain rot and it literally Won’t Leave Me Alone so here are some headcannons:
she’s mean as FUCK bc she doesn’t know how to deal with her emotions in a healthy way
very mean to her sisters too but like... (affectionate)
also she’s the only one that can bully them, if anyone other than herself even LOOKS at them funny, that person will definitely go missing
“nobody bullies my siblings, except for me”
has Protective Older Sister vibes even though she’s not the oldest and is extremely protective of her family
particularly when it comes to Daniela. Cassandra has like a sixth sense where she can tell whenever her younger sister is in danger and goes RUNNIN to check on her.
Cassandra, weapon drawn: “DANI WHATS WRONG ARE YOU OK??”
Daniela, swinging from the ceiling by her foot: “Oh, hello sister. It seems I have stepped on my own trap.”
Cass, exhausted, pinching the bridge of her nose: “Daniela. What the fuck.”
Cassandra gets her down and smacks her on the back of the head (but not before subtly checking her for injuries)
she has a very hard time opening up to people bc she feels weak when she does and she HATES feeling weak
the only person she has ever cried in front of is their mother
and speaking of Alcina, Cassandra definitely gets her protectiveness from her mother. those two turn into a pair of rage monsters whenever someone they care about gets hurt.
one time Bela got severely injured by a lycan and Cassandra was like: “Those stupid mutts, i’ll kill them all, I swear!” and moves to leave but her mother stops her, “Hold on daughter, it’s quite rude of you not to extend the invitation.” and they both leave, eyes completely black with rage and murder. Daniela stays with Bela but waves them off happily in the background. “See you soon! Bring me back a lycan heart!”
does not know how to deal with her anger and sometimes has to punch the brick walls in the basement just to release some of the energy
her knuckles are almost always cut up and bruised bc of this
Alcina has walked in on more than one of her outbursts. She takes her daughters arms so she stops punching the walls, and pulls her into her chest. Cassandras breathing is erratic and she’s shaking violently with rage.
“Shhh my love, breathe.” Cassandra exhales in a way that Alcina can’t tell if she’s crying or seething. “What’s happened?”
Cassandras breathing speeds up through gritted teeth and she pulls against her mother, as if trying to get back to the wall. “I d-didn’t know what else to do.” her voice is hard like she was stating a fact.
Alcina strokes her pinky finger down her daughters nose, a trick that’s always worked for keeping her angriest at child at bay, and holds her there until she’s calmed down.
Afterwards, they don’t talk about it. Alcina knows Cassandra is already too embarrassed so she only wraps up her knuckles and says, “I think I heard Daniela call out for you a little bit ago, she had that tone of voice she gets whenever she’s in over her head.”
Cassandra just scoffs, “She’s just an idiot.” but moves immediately so go check on her younger sibling. She stops just before she’s out the door, “Mother I....” Alcina sees the hidden gratitude in her daughters eyes. “I know, dear. Go.” And her middle child nods and bursts into a cloud of bugs.
so.... there’s that.
I may be projecting but who knows.
ANYWAY
can throw a Wicked punch
very competitive and a sore loser
her competitiveness comes out the most when Bela is involved
Cassandra thinks Bela is their mothers favorite and that creates a lot of tension between the two of them bc Cassandra low key looks up to Bela (but will never tell her that) and wants to please mother just like she does. She feels the anger under her skin whenever their mother praises Bela instead of her
(Cassandra craves praise just as much as Bela but will NEVER show how the lack of it effects her)
Mean Lesbian™️
so, so touch starved
when anyone outside of her mother or sisters touch her softly she snaps bc a) she’s not used to it and b) she get filled with complicated and confusing emotions that she doesn’t know what to do with
quickest to yell at a maiden whenever they mess up
when she’s in a good mood she can actually be very playful and teasing (“rawr! >:D”)
hums to herself when she’s bored and sometimes (rarely) sings when Bela is playing the piano
the best at makeup out of the three daughters
Daniela always begs her to do her make up for her and Cassandra just pretends to be annoyed and does it anyway (she secretly loves it)
Bela also tentatively asked one time and Cassandra was shocked because Bela never asks for favors
they sit in silence while she applies Belas makeup but eventually asks “Why ask me to do this now? There had been plenty of other opportunities before.” her voice comes out more defensive than she wanted it too, but she leaves it be.
Bela studies her with calculating and knowing eyes before looking away and opening her mouth “You love doing this. I can tell.” Cass stops moving her hand. “I see the proud look on your face when Dani runs to show Mother your work. I just...” Bela shrugs, “want to be a part of that too. For you.” She glances back to her dark haired sister and shifts in her seat.
Cassandra didn’t know how to react, let alone respond. The lump in her throat was wide and pushed against her windpipe. Her and Bela had never really gotten along, but hearing this from her older sister felt like a small weight was lifted from her shoulders. It felt like acceptance. She cleared her throat and gently grabbed her sisters chin to pull it back into place. “Well maybe if you stopped squirming, i’d be able to get it done faster.”
Bela shoots her a very small, understanding smile, it was more of a smirk really, but it got the point across. I love you. No matter what. and Cassandra felt like she could finally breathe.
(I love sibling dynamics leave me alone)
claims she’s a top, is actually a switch
impatient as hell
Smooth Talker
her ability to talk her and her sisters out of sketchy situations has saved their asses more than once
“Hey Cassandra, would you punch Uncle Heisenberg in the face for $100?”
“I’d roundhouse kick him in the face for free.”
cue Alcina spitting up her wine.
probably swears the most too lol
*stubs toe* “Son of a mother fucking bitch that shit HURT.” Alcina: *raises eyebrow* “Well I certainly didn’t teach her that vile language.... Heisenberg.” Heisenberg: ......
knows how to wield a butterfly knife like a complete badass
Alcina: “CASSSANDRRAAA”
Cassandra: *instant fear*
uhhhh that’s it. did I go overboard? probaby. do I care? absolutely not and i’ll most likely be doing this again very soon lmaooo.
also p.s. send me more headcannon requests for Cassandra and i’ll answer them!

Hello may I ask if u can do Morro headcanon
*clasps hands* CAN YOU??? oh get ready for this i have sm to say
• for starters, morro wu is the name they go by!! the very first time sensei wu heard morro refer to himself with it he cried so hard
• morro is nonbinary, going mostly by they/them and he/him pronouns, but if you used she/her or anything of the like they wouldn't mind :)
• biromantic and greysexual!! can you tell im projecting yet?
moving onto my purely personal stuff:
• they play violin!! they picked it up after coming back to life. the wind responds to the song their playing. its a beautiful sight
• morro %100 needs glasses. do they get them?? no
• his gi's now associated more with the color yellow. he wanted to move away from green, and yellows pretty (and one of the few gi colors not taken already)
• cats!!! they love cats so much!!!!!! feeds all the strays. they love him
• the once green stripe in their hair is now grey, and they have a ghost scar across their left cheek, reaching all the way to their chin
• 100% was forced to read starfarer bc of jay and lloyd. he says he hates it (he ADORES it)
• they wear skirts and dresses when they feel like it!! clothes they can feel their element in? fuck yeah!!!
ok now done with the personal headcanons, onto more specific stuff :)
• in my 'morro is revived/redeemed/he just stays like we all wanted him to' au he does not move in directly with the ninja, instead living higher up in the mountains, in a small town southeast of Ninjago city. they feel at peace there, up in their element, away from most modern technology.
- both he and the ninja liked this decision more, while wu did not, but I'll get into their individual dynamics more later
-he doesnt really talk to anyone from the village, but anytime he goes to buy supplies and stuff he tries his best to give money and food to the homeless he passes. especially children.
-the children of the village therefore deem him a myth, some tell ghost stories of him, and others call him a good luck charm. morro thinks this is adorable, really, and plays into it; giving vague fortunes everytime a kid points him out.
• the ninja and wu definitely come to visit him sometimes too, and no matter how many times they do so morro's always suprised they care. the first time lloyd came to visit them on his own they were so astonished for like the next month
• whenever there's a world-threatening villain present and they need his aid, it is painstakingly obvious. they normally come to him all chill, but whenever they need help they come to him like akward in-laws.
- *sliding inside their door* "heyyy morro-"
- *exhausted sigh* "what is it now? another giant snake???"
NOW speaking of his relationship with the ninja
• this is a vv common headcanon, but morro and cole would become friends the fastest i think. oh? you were a ghost too? you like food?? quiet and prefers to not be in social situations??? hey bestie
- bonus thing: morro hasn't heard of cake because they were first an orphan/homeless, and when they were adopted by wu they were too focused on getting their body in perfect condition to eat sweets. therefore, a conversation between them has most definitely happened like this:
- "hey, morro, im craving sweets, wanna go get some cake?"
- *genuinely confused* "whats cake?"
- "..."
- "cole???"
- "oh you poor sweet summer child"
- tldr; out of kai, zane, jay, nya, and cole, morro and cole get along the best!!
• i think morro and jay would get along mostly by jay being the one who informs him of modern technology. y'know, teaching him about it. morro flipped his lid the second he learned what a microwave was.
- i also think jay brings out his inner sassy side. they have a lot of nicknames for each other.
- oh also also you know how nya can move ice if she tries hard enough? jay can just barely move wind, same goes for morro with lightning. they definitely use each others powers responsibly
- (jay almost caused a minature tornado once and morro made a week long power outage. they don't speak of those things)
- tldr; morro feels rather relaxed around jay. even if he takes a lot of their energy, its not too hard for them to get along. they would probably cause doomsday if left alone together for too long tho
• morro and zane!! or as I like to call it; therapist friend to therapist friend
- while untrusting of morro for a while, Zane was able to connect with them by seeing their walls come down
- i think morro would go to zane to vent if need be, hes a great listener. same goes vice-versa.
- both wind and ice are very reactive to their weilders emotions, so like it or not, these two have to bottle up their feelings sometimes for the safety of others
- thats why they work so well together, actually. fire, earth, lighting, and water arent as emotionally reliant. and we're getting 2 energy
- whenever zane is over and makes food morro will steal some or get thrown out the kitchen trying
- tldr; their friendship is very (heh) chill
• kai and morro!! aka 'i don't like you very much but we have the common interest of protecting lloyd to make up for past mistakes so ig ill tolerate you'
- unstable relationship!! they bicker the most, lloyd mostly being the peacekeeper
- they have their moments tho
- i think kai would've found morro in a vulnerable state once, like crying or having a panic attack or something, and he just sat next to him and held his hand
- they both refuse to acknowledge that happend, but they were nicer to each other after it
- they don't get along very well mostly to kai holding a grudge, but morro doesn't blame him. they haven't completely forgiven themselves, either
• morro and nya. dictionary definition of 'its complicated'
- can they get along and work together? yes, surprisingly so. do they WANT to? nah
- even though hes human again, morros still highkey-lowkey scared of nya. its the ptsd innit
- thats why nyas so compliant with him in the first place, bc even though she holds almost a big a grude towards them as her brother, she sees morros use
- i do think they made a small storm once though, using their powers. just out of boredom. it was beautiful
• and last but most certainly not least: disaster cousins! i cant fit these two's entire journey together in this one post, but I'll highlight the most important bits
- loyd was terrified that morro survived the drowning of the Preeminent, so he was immensely relieved that morro wasnt staying with them
- the first time they saw each other after styxx shit was so akward. they were left alone in a room together for 5 seconds and they hated it
- lloyd never wanted a verbal apology from morro, saying that the only way they could probably get forgiveness is through action
- only got close to morro after he proved himself through his actions. i mean, after helping them and Ninjago many times, lloyd couldn't say he hated them anymore
- the first time lloyd visited on his own with the intention to just, like, hang out; morro broke. mf bluescreened. thought he was hallucinating for a solid 20 minutes.
- they play video games together and read comics and the like.
- they rarely do anything like sparring tbh. whenever they're together they let their inner children come out
- lloyd: *bringing out a coloring book and crayons* "hey I know we're like in our early 20's but-"
- morro: *snatching them* "y e s"
- Morro's EXTREMELY overprotective to compensate for what hes done. lloyd doesn't stop them, he knows it makes them feel less guilt, but it does get a liiitle overbearing sometimes
- wu bawled once he learned they were getting along, the hardest he cried in a while
- tldr; these two mean SO MUCH TO ME
do i have more? oh, yes, many. am i stopping? yes, sadly. i don't want peoples Tumblr to crash once they see this post.
