Izanami

What I like about them: Everything? They’re such a pure and genuinely good person, which is somehow not incompatible with being in basically a government-funded criminal gang, I don’t even get it, they could murder someone and I’d still see them as pure. I like their personality and demeanor too, it feels like they’d be a generally pleasant person to be around. 

What I dislike about them: Inherently, I don’t think there’s anything I dislike… I feel sort of sad about how much they loved Koku and that it was unrequited and I wish this show had a context where they could’ve moved on and be happy, but that’s just the Jetblack for you.

Favourite moment: When they were reciting poetry while Koku chased them. Iconic.

Least favourite moment: When they died. (Note that this answer is gonna be a reoccurring theme.)

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: What they do in their free time, some more detailed stuff on their gender identity and what they think of it, how they acted around other people in Market Maker, what happened with their friendship with real Minatsuki, whether they had any resentment towards Yuna… Many things, really. There’s a reason I’m writing a fic about it.

An interesting AU for this character: Cheesy realistic!au where they get to be just a normal person, go to school with a backpack with a lot of keychains on it and just BE HAPPY.

A crossover: Danganronpa crossover where they have the Ultimate Poet talent or something, lowkey because I want to see what their sprites would look like drawn in that style.

OTP: I don’t have a romantic Izanami ship I particularly prefer over the others; anyone who will provide a wholesome relationship to the Bean.

Other ships: As I said, anything where they’re happy can pass… Koku/Izanami pretty much just exists in canon and is relevant so I can’t ignore it if it’s what Izanami wants. Izayuna? Good, also. Laica/Izanami? Prefer it as a brotp but it’s also fine. It’s all good.

BROTP: With Laica. It’s just my absolutely favourite thing, I feel like it was probably wholesome and the opposite at the same time. I hc that one of the reasons Izanami stayed with Market Maker was that their friendship with Laica kinda always tapped into a bit of a selfish side they had for wanting Koku to themselves. Something like mutually relating to each other’s egoism is the only way I can put it…

NOTP: This fandom is small and hasn’t managed to create an Izanami ship that was truly Abhorrent yet, so I’m not gonna get creative with this and come up with one. All ships are good as of now.

An assortment of headcanons: 

Their cover job is not even a cover but a legitimate job as an author (mostly poetry and short stories), but they have to write under different pseudonyms because Market Maker. They have fun coming up with the names though.

Speaking of names, since they’re from Jaula Blanca they don’t have a family name but come up with a bunch all the time, trying to pick one. 

They like being imaginative with clothes and makeup. It’s completely unrelated to gender, it’s just aesthetics.

They’re the cool mystery kid at the skater park… Nobody knows who they are… They’re just crazy good…

(I have a lot of Izanami hcs but since I’m gonna put them in a fic I don’t want to list them all here.)

Keith

What I like about them: Most relatable lifestyle and demeanor of 2018. I mean, how can I not like him. A gigantic mood.

What I dislike about them: He has a bit of an Asshat Genius Syndrome and I feel like how brilliant he is sometimes puts a bit of distance between me and his character, I don’t think I’ll ever understand/will be able to explain his way of thinking 100% and that bugs me as someone who likes maniacally dissecting fiction.

Favourite moment: When he talked to Gilbert in the last episode. It was a very needed callout and I’m glad he perfectly identified him as the source of malice in everything that happened.

Least favourite moment: The baity scenes with Lily… Which is not even me being against the ship (I wrote for it twice), I’m just not highkey into that type of bait because I find it tacky. It’s personal, I know, but it still bugs me.

A situation with this character that I want to see explored more: Both him being in university and the shenanigans with Gilbert and Erika, and what on earth happened with the Dead Kyle situation later because he literally tortured the guy and that’s something I’m curious to see happen.

An interesting AU for this character: I’m just gonna say the same thing I did for Gilbert; AU where he’s the one on the bad side for some reason. Still retaining his canon personality, though. Not really being a bad person, just not giving enough fucks to fight for justice.

A crossover: I feel like he’d do well in the Ghost In The Shell universe??

OTP: Keith/Koku. But shh. I’m subtle about this. I know it’s sinful.

Other ships: Keithlily is extremely entertaining. Though most m/f ships are incomprehensible things to me, there’s something funny about the way they interact and I found out I really like writing about it. Keithgil is another one I can’t disregard; I find it reassuring that he can stand up to Gilbert’s bullshit, because it means someone can. I can’t think of more ships right now, but I’m open-minded about it.

BROTP: Lily, Eric, pretty much all of RIS, I just support him having friends.

NOTP: It wasn’t clear whether there was actually some pseudo-incestuous thing going on with him and Erika but I feel like that’s… better off not being a thing if we can avoid it… I’m conflicted on this because I’m not the kind of person who’s gonna go on a moral crusade about it, but even if Keith/Erika did exist I’d be uninterested at best. 

An assortment of headcanons:

He’s one of the people who will cry if you write 0 in the denominator.

He’s old but not very old and most of the aching joints originate from him sitting in the same position for hours or sleeping on the wooden floor.

The gumbo he cooks is amazing but he’s really bad at any other food because he doesn’t have nearly the same amount of passion

His circadian rhythm barely exists anymore, he can stay awake for 2 days and sleep for the same amount of time. Sometimes he alternates half-a-days. He just rests whenever it’s convenient.

Gabelena

I’m posting all my written headcanons here before New Years (and school bleh) so here are the ones I did for a Gabelena ship meme.

Who steals the other's food? I would have to say... Gabe. It just seems more likely to me. He likes to show off his fast reflexes.

Who shamelessly cheats at games? Again, Gabe. He talks big game of winning and everything so when Elena easily starts surpassing him, he tries to turn it around. All in fun.

Who accidentally pulls the door instead of pushing? Gabe when nervous and trying to impress, or Elena if she is super enthusiastic and rearing to go.

Who starts the tickle fights? Elena because she is used to doing it with Isabel, and Gabe has this need to be mature and manly.

Who starts the pillow fights? Elena, same reasons.

Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines? I can't see either of them doing it. Maybe Gabe trying to sound all poetic?

Who plays with the other's hair? Gabe since Elena's hair is much longer and there are more styles. He finds it very calming.

Who arranges the bookshelf in alphabetical order? Gaba. He usually likes the organization to keep his mind uncluttered, and not having to go crazy looking for an important book.

Who licks the spoon when they are baking? Elena, she has a major sweet tooth and the batter is the best part.

Who massages the other? Gabe. Elena tells him to put his muscles to go use.

Who buys candles for dinner even if there isn't a special occasion? Gabe in the beginning of the relationship. Elena when they are married to keep the magic alive.

Who is most affectionate? They are pretty equal. But Elena tends to be more physically affectionate and knowing to have Gabe right next to her as a leftover from her time in the amulet.

Big spoon/little spoon? Gabe = big. Elena = little.

Most common argument? Elena overworking herself and trying to be the most perfect leader, helping everyone, pleasing everyone, catering to each individual's situation which Gabe thinks some things have to be compromised and that she is human.

Favorite non-sexual activity? Fencing, sometimes horse riding.

Who is most likely to carry the other? Gabe, treating his girlfriend/wife as "the true queen, and I, her most loyal guard to cater to all your pleasure and protect you from harm and tiredness." Elena playfully smacks him on the head and tells him she can handle herself, but still likes it.

What is their favorite physical feature of their partner? Elena admires Gabe's strong, broad shoulders and lovely, puppy dog eyes. Gabe likes playing with Elena's long hair, and her eyes as well and how expressive they are.

Nicknames? Elena calls Gabe, "Gabe-bear" Gabe calls her, "My one queen" "Mi amor" "The most awesome"

Who worries the most? Equally during adventures. Gabe especially the first time Elena was pregnant. He was a nervous wreck.

Who remembers what the other orders at resturant? Elena. Idky she just seems likely to.

Who initiates kisses? Elena being the more physically affectionate. Though Gabe is a bit more aware of her status as queen and how it looks with her dating a commoner, she has no such qualms and does it out of emotion.

Who kisses harder? Gabe, because he just loves her so much and in some ways can't believe she returns those feelings.

Who reaches for the other's hand first? Elena.

Who starts the food fights? Gabe. First he takes her food, then she tries to get it back, he throws it, you get what happens.

Who wakes up first? Actually it is sorta of contenst between them as Gabe gets up for guard duty, and Elena for her queen duties.

Who wants to stay in bed? Neither.

Who says I love you first? Gabe. Big ol impulsive Gabe.

Who leaves notes in the other's lunch? What does it say? Elena, "Enjoy these (insert here) and tomorrow I'm going to join you ;)"

Who tells their family about the relationship first? Elena because of all the political ramifications.

What do they think? Luisa, Francisco, Blanca, ate absolutely thrilled for both and finding true happiness in each other. Roberto is more than a bit surprised that his son managed to get the queen of Avalor to marry him but he can’t complain too much. 

Isabel is majorly excited and asks them dozen of questions about their relationship and wedding. Naomi and Mateo are happy for them because they kinda figure it would happen, and jokingly warn not to get too lovey dovey. Esteban at first disapproved of the whole commoner/royal thing but then soon is all aboard the shipping train with Isabel. He cares for his cousin, we all know this. 

Who is more likely to start dancing with the other? Elena, hands down. She can do a mean salsa.

Who cooks more? Gabe, he grew up baking. He knows what he is doing. 

Who whispers inappropriate things at inappropriate times? Neither, but Gabe totally “ACCIDENTALLY” slips into innuendoes.

Who needs more assurance? Gabe, being a commoner, and sometimes knowing how capable Elena is of handeling things. Then Elena assures him that she provides the emotional support and relief no one else could.

Who would sing their child back to sleep? Elena, no question.

What do they do when away from each other? Royalty duties and guarding. Elena also goes for a lot of girl time wth her sister and Naomi while Gabe is bros with Mateo.

What is their song? "It takes two" from Into the Woods.

One headcanon about the otp that breaks your heart? Gabe's absolute cold feet about marrying her. I mean, he loves her. But he gets worried that he won't be enough, he will fail her in a way because he is not royalty, that he will embarrass her or worse, not be able to protect her or that he isn't her intellectual equal.

A headcanon that mends it? Elena goes to him the week before the wedding and they spend the whole night talking about their plans, their past, worries. Basically everything they could talk about and any feeling. They end up being more solid and close after that talk, they already feel married.
