You know I really do love my parents but I will never forget the time they told me they weren't going to get me tested for autism/ADHD because they didn't want that stigma attached to me.

#i was 7 at the time btw #so i didn't fully understand the absurdity of that #but i do understand now #i spent nearly 15 years of my life thinking i was weird that nobody else did the stuff i did and that i should keep my mouth shut about it #i was bullied for being weird and just accepted it to the point where i just hated myself and supressed all my neurodivergent behaviors #i still do #but at least now im starting to see that im not weird just neurodiverse #because i definitely am #and i could have received support during that time but no ❤️ #can't be having that stigma attached 😍 #i don't care what you do with this post just don't derail it #but i saw someone say something similar and it got me thinking #that was messed up #oh i completely forgot to mention that the school literally told them they suspected i was autistic #like great job guys #i have no stigma just a fuck ton of depression and self hatred instead
