I was going through some posts I missed and came across the “tatsumi is mature but still does 19 year old things” and I just wanna say I’ve never been able to put it into words when my friends ask but like. That’s exactly what I love about this game.

We’ve got scandals and drama and weird crypto currencies and convoluted backstories of implied murder or identity theft or military shit or relations to underground gang activity or so SO much more and yet the writers still succeed in reminding you that this is a game full of high schoolers.

Natume was one of the five oddballs and suffered through so much during the war where it affects him to this day, but he also refers to his tech savvy and love of the occult as magic and loves the junior he “adopted” to death. Despite Aira struggling against every odd to become a real idol he still buys merch and looks on the internet to look for content of the ones he likes. Rinne was destined to become the monarch of his homeland but ran away in an attempt to find happiness and acceptance and is an amazing strategist who uses it to take down corruption, but his sense of humor is entirely made up of sex jokes and romantic teasing like Aira being “hiiro’s little girlfriend”. The amount of characters that assign themselves the mom friend role just because. Trickstar. I don’t think I need to explain Trickstar-

Like this game has made me cry so many times and it has its ridiculous moments but it also has its genuine ones while also being the most teenage shit I’ve seen in my life and I feel like so few media can balance those and still have a decent story like that. Sorry for the long ass post I just have so many feelings about this kind of stuff 😭

YEAH this is exactly what i was talking about in a previous ask when i said i have nothing meaningful to add to the enstars cast that isnt a headcanon . its all very well thought out and the interpersonal relationships are nuanced enough to feel realistic but outlandish enough to be interesting .

worldbuilding and character design is one of my special interests and i say this any chance i can get: the most important part of building a character (and a story in general) is realizing the importance of comedic irony and comedy as a whole regardless of genre or tone. it makes characters feel more 3 dimensional and relatable because people arent stagnant and theres multiple facets to any individuals personality (this is also why some of the most popular animes of all time have filler episodes or funny bits that show the characters personalities, every event hits with 3x emotional impact the more you know about the characters as people but that's a different discussion) enstars does a really good job of this . like for example if wataru were to have had a realistic reaction to eichi starting the war it wouldnt be nearly as good of a story. the fact that eichis ridiculous ass backwards plan to get wataru to fall in love with him actually worked is a perfect example of comedy used to make a story more interesting. another thing similar to this is how sometimes its better to not detail something and let characters do things for a mundane reason or even no reason at all . for example subaru hating chiaki just because he annoys him, or shinobu being on the broadcasting team despite his character not being associated with technology otherwise and therefore having no real backstory on why he likes radio stuff. its all really well planned worldbuilding with an insane amount of subtle details , which is why enstars is one of my favorite stories to analyze . the only thing i could possibly want more out of it is hardcore tragedy but thats entirely a personal preference rather than a critique because im a slut for catharsis and i love sad endings , especially ones where characters die . (don't worry im in therapy)

Hi, hello! Sorry to bother you but I love your blog so I thought you can answer my question if you can. So, um, can you tell me why is everyone in the Rain World community saying that both Hunter and Artificier are girls and lesbians? Did I miss something? Was there some Q & A that revealed their gender and preferences? Does it have something with the Downpour dlc (haven't gotten it yet btw)? Again, sorry for so many questions but I'm just very confused rn 😕❓

It's fine! The most straightforward answer is really just "its fun" and "its their vibe" As many of the Downpour slugcats started as effectively ocs, I'm sure that some may have had some intended gender as creations of people, but as far as i'm aware at no point in RW itself (or Downpour) are any of them gendered nor are there any statements (such as using certain pronouns on streams) on it meant to be taken as the official lore for them. It's just really people having fun with assigning headcanons to funny creatures. For me personally I just like a bunch of combat-savvy girl characters (Hornet) who happen to be red so I like to playfully assign girl status to any creature that fits that theme. Given what slugcats are, who even knows if they have either genders or distinct sexes- none of that (or even any wider slugcat biology) is ever discussed or canonized. As for pairing them together or calling them lesbians, that's mostly just cause they're both red-ish slugcats with a focus on combat/violence so people think they match in that sense and theyre mostly saying it jokingly haha. Rain World slugcats are so open-ended that people have a lot of "play" with in the character sense, so people do.

Dinosaur nerding about the Lifers

Since all the support for raptor Etho and an anon ask, I've been trying desperately to assign dinosaurs to all the Lifers and I cannot tell you how difficult it is to choose. I have to spend like a full 24 hours of deep thought and research on this lmao. And there are so many insanely cool dinosaurs whose names/appearances would be so awesome as added symbolism and stuff but I just cant use them all aghhh

Just some that I'll have to miss out on: I cannot assign the dinosaur "Brontomerus" to anyone but its name means "thunder thighs" and I never stop thinking about it Another funny name is Huehuecanauthlus which means "ancient duck". Also "huehue" lol love that "Aviatyrannis" means grandma tyrant which made me think of Cleo but its tiny in size "Venenosaurus" is really neat because you'd probably picture a venomous little terror but no, it's a gentle giant... "Yi Qi" is just a really fucking cool and unique dinosaur. It looks more like a proper bat than anything "Changmiania" comes from a phrase meaning "eternal sleep" due to it having a perfectly preserved skeleton of itself curled up nice and cozy in its burrow... "Anurognathidae" just google and look at this fine thing Therizinos are some of my favorite dinosaurs and there is one called "Erlikosaurus" meaning "Erlik's lizard", Erlik the god of the Underworld. That's metal as fuck but even if I manage to squeeze a Therizino into the roster, it's not gonna be Erlikosaurus because jesus christ who would that be..?? In similar vein there are two other dinos with really interesting names "Stygimoloch" and "Theiophytalia". Stygmoloch more or less means demon of the styx river, the river of the underworld etc. It's also a god's daughter or something but uhh irrelevant. I might use that one for Martyn because of the whole watcher thing idk it makes sense to me, especially with him in LL. Also it's a pachy (the dinosaur with a hardened tough head that bonks others) which I like the image of for Martyn lol Then there's Theiophytalia meaning "Belonging to the garden of Gods" whoah. I've been really struggling with Scott because he's such a hashtag deep character but I might just assign him that one. Almost like he named himself... It's an Iguanadon looking dinosaur which I think a lot of people would regard as the most basic, boring type of dinosaur (not me I love them a lot!!) but that further fits Scott but if I delve into my thoughts further we'll be here all day

I'm not gonna be able to make decisions I'm happy with for all of them anytime soon but I'll get back to you with some more dinosaur hybrid doodles for some of them!! I'm trying to represent all the major uhh families? Of dinosaurs? Like I wanna make sure there's at least one ceratops and one ankylosaur and one long-neck and one apex predator (just one. I hate apex predators lol but I'll do one for Cleo she deserves to be one) etc etc

"What did you get for question 3?” Sebastian asked.

“Expelliarmus.” Ominis answered as he was pouring himself some pumpkin juice.

Throughout the following days. Sebastian, Ominis and Edwart started spending dinners together. Sharing assignments, chats, food and even a table. Other students were looking at them funny sometimes.

“I have some things I need to attend to.” Edwart spoke rather suddenly after eating his porridge. “I'll probably be back in the late evening.”

“What do you have planned? Ominis asked as he bit into his toast.

“A fellow housemate sent me information about a ghost which might be able to help me find those missing pages from the book I've found in the restricted section. It would really help me before Professor Fig returns from the ministry.”

Sebastian and Ominis were silent and nearly looked at eachother with the same confused looks already thought that asking questions wouldn't bring much if the new student hadn't gotten all the information to share.

“It's all very complex and I've promised to explain everything which I will when it gets sorted out. For now it looks like I'm to have a trip to Upper Hogsfield…”

“Hm. This must be the place Minister Diggory mentioned.” Edwart thought to himself and knocked a few times.

“Yes?” An older woman opened the door.

“Hello Madam Thistlewood. My name's…”

“Ah yes.” She said excitedly. “You're that hufflepuff student. Uncle Eldritch did tell me you might come. Come in! Come in! I'll set the tea. Would you like some?”

“No thank you, your uncle said we might be able to help each other. Would you elaborate?”

Madam Thistlewood explained an entire long story about Richard Jackdaw, Apollonia Black and Anne, a prisoner in Azkaban.

“So let me get this in order.” Edwart said with furrowed eyebrows. “You want me to travel to Azkaban with you so I can speak to a woman who has been sitting there for the past decades in hope that she somehow has an answer to Richard Jackdaw's cave wherever it is. And all that is a clue, not a certainty.” Edwart finished unconvinced.

“Yes I suppose one can put it like that. It has to be you though. You could be a fresh breeze to her which could help her talk.”

“Well I'd rather not go to Azkaban. Is there no other way to help?”

“I'm afraid not. I will be right there with you being a retired auror does have its benefits, we can simply apparate right to her. I've escorted Ministers. professors. and many others to that blasted place. Never a student, I'll admit, but I will keep you safe.”

“Very well. Let’s go.”’

“Steady yourself. We'll Apparate together. Don't worry, l've never splinched anyone”

Edwart heard a snap and felt an unsettling change of air which made him nauseous.

“Shit.” He thought “I'm going to barf. Apparating is rough.”

Before he understood what has happened around him he heard a scream: “Expecto Patronum” A beautiful bunny made out of light came out of Madam Thistlewood's wand and busted through the dementors as she spoke again.

“That ought to keep them at bay for now. Though, be aware - you may feel a wave of despair. It will pass. This really is a dismal place. But we'll be out of here soon enough Now, follow me.”

“No one at school's going to believe this…”

Edwart thought while taking in the awfully cold surroundings of Azkaban. Somehow he did manage to drag the information about the cave from Anne even though her mental state was up to question especially after she attacked Madam Thistlewood without using any weapon. Edwart didn't know what had just happened. He was left in Upper hogsfield in pursuit of that cave.

Finally after all that time. Edwart found Richard Jackdaw who promised to help him as he most likely dropped the pages in the forbidden forest.

Edwart finally sat on the grass taking a breather for a second. He took out his pocket watch and noticed it was time he should head back to the castle but he had to get those pages back…

Sebastian and Ominis were in the great hall eating breakfast. Edwart was supposed to meet them yesterday at the dinner but when he never showed up, Sebastian felt uneasy.

Finally Edwart stumbled in for breakfast. He had enormous bags under his eyes and he was looking paler than usual.

“Merlin what happened to you?” Sebastian bewilderedly asked “You look like you haven't slept in a week.”

Edwar took a seat next to Ominis and groaned a bit. “Very funny. I’ve had the worst night of my life.” He said, grabbing a toast and basically devouring it.

“We thought we were going to see you at dinner yesterday. What happened?” Sebastian asked curiously.

Edwart swallowed quickly and responded “That was a plan. But I had to get those missing pages I was talking about. Turned out. Out of all the places it was in the forbidden forest.”

Sebastian choked on his pumpkin pastry.

“Merlin are you alright?” Ominis asked with a hint of shock in his voice.

“Who are you asking me or Edwart?” Sebastian asked with laughter

“Both. Are you both okay?” Ominis replied with a small grin.

“Anyway I got caught sneaking back in got in big trouble with one of the Professors and since Fig is not here-”

Just then the Owl’s started flying about delivering mail which interrupted Edwart's story. Sebastian got a letter from Anne. He smiled when it landed in his hands.

Just when they thought the owl storm had come to an end. Edwart’s owl Barney dropped a letter onto his lap. He picked the letter up from his lap with a tense grimace.

“What is it, who's sending you letters?” Sebastian asked curiously.

“I-” Edwart stumbled upon his words as he flipped the letter. “Shit, that's not good…I have to go. I- I have that flying class anyway.” With that Edwart ran out of the great hall at the speed of light.

Sebastian signed heavily “I wish he would be more open with us.”

“Give it time Sebastian.” Ominis replied flatly.

fe3h maddening and gameplay thoughts from reddit

There's multiple ways to grind on maddening. If you want to skill or class grind grab a broken weapon (training weapon if your avoid really sucks that bad), unequip any prowess or hit skills, and stack on as much avoid as you can (or enough def that you take 0 damage). Then pack some healing and send out a few units into the forests. The exact arrangement depends on how much avoid you can manage if you can get below 10 hit on you you can send as many individual units as you can fit on the map. But usually to control the situation better you can blockade a corner of the map off with extra units and a couple healers and rotate out the wall of units getting attacked. Ideally your units should be missing every hit and the enemy should be missing every hit, attacked on 4-10 side every turn for 99 turns with the KNOWLEDGE GEM equipped. For magic units because of the limited reason spells I usually equip a reason tome and assign them as an adjunct to someone with a weapon. To grind levels there's the dancer and healing methods. I hate grinding so I never use this but you can look it up I seem to remember someone grinding Flayn to level 100 like this. I think the calender glitch also works on maddening.

Compared to warrior, hero hits for less damage. Hero like a lot of mixed classes in fe3h just ends up doing worse than what it is a mix of, fe3h tends to reward mixmaxing over jack of all trades more than other fe games. That said hero isn't bad it is just meh, it's mid tier. There's far worse classes in this game. The innate vantage isn't excellent but it does free up an ability slot for another ability so viable builds can be run on hero. With Balthis specifically he tends to slow down in endgame unless he's in warmaster (or wyvern lord but wyvern lord fixes everyone) so this is less hero's fault than a balthus thing. Like if you had made Balthus a swordsmaster he probably would have slowed in endgame too.

A lot of people seem to forget that mounted units can get off(or on) the horse as a free action during their turn which is why mounted units are so overpowered because essentially they get both mounted and infantry movement. Also people are exaggerating when they say mounted units are bad on CF, its only 1 map and like I said the horse units can always dismount for free to bypass the mounted movement penalty and still attack on the same turn. So don't let that 1 map scare you off mounted units, know that its there are prepare for it, but mounted units are still great. (Of course for the same reasons flyers are even more broken)

If you upgraded the statues they stay upgraded on subsequent playthroughs.

Dancers can use magic so Marianne as dancer would still have all her white (and black) magic spells. Dancer isn't optimal for Hilda, she's a physical powerhouse but you can beat maddening with any character in any class (I've tried). The best dancer is the character you aren't using much, so really it could be any of them. Dancer is a waste of Felix's potential, the player can still do it but it would hamper their overall power. And the thing is unlike any other class dancer doesnt care who the user is. Like warmaster has a big difference if you use hubert vs using felix but dancers all perform about the same whether you use dimitri or flayn and at least with dimitri you get funny dialogue. Even when I've tried to use that sword avo the unit just would have been more useful in another class usually.

bow knight does not have the powerful combat art of sniper so be aware you will be doing far less damage in this option, you are just hitting once without the mt buff and without the hit buff of hunter's volley. Bow knight is very fun to weaving in and out of combat it probably has the largest attacking range in the game. I personally really like bow knights on maddening. Some of the only units to get in, kill and get out all on their own, sometimes fast enough to double and with the archer line's dex build the crit half the time too.

Death blow is a player phase ability so if you want extra power on player phase and want to put in the extra work than it may be worth it. But it you want an enemy phase Dimitri or don't feel like investing in axes and brigand then don't worry about it. Similarly with hit+20. Hit+20 makes the biggest difference for ranged units (mostly bow but if you're doing some weird javelin build I guess this applies too) and axes which have a low accuracy. Hit is based off of dexterity so Dimitri as a close range unit with good dexterity usually does not have a hit problem in his standard build.

A bit situational but when the positional combat arts are useful, they are crucial. Their best use is in cheese strats when people are trying to 1 turn bosses and chaining these for that like 4 tiles actually makes a world of difference. It's also very useful on maddening where 1 tile difference can mean life or death when most enemies will 1 round your units. In normal play it usually isn't worth the more useful combat arts but if you have a free space go ahead and equip them.

It's such a high-horse, full of shit take that you can only really have if you've been deliberately not paying any attention to canon. The ENTIRETY of Sumeru should have put this take in the ground where it belongs. And it ain't even the full tidbit of the thing being referenced either. I think you should honestly quit playing Gensh if you're not actually going to pay attention to the story and lore and get on a high-horse about how other people totes have it wrong. It's fine to have preferences for characters, but genuinely fuck off with the "any take I dislike is obviously wrong and shouldn't be written" shit.

Polite Answer: A few characters I personally find boring or un-engaging, some headcanons I'm really not into, and one version of a take on a ship that baffles me.

I really don't see the whole wide appeal of characters like Barbara, Noelle, Nilou, Kokomi, Mona...to me, they're all just kind of generically cute and sweet. (And one character I forgot I kind of genuinely despise, but I think I get the appeal so I don't think I can put her here...) I guess I can kind of get it, but the more people angrily try to say how great they are and complain about That Sort Of Take while putting down other characters like Itto, the less inclined I am to even try to like them, and the more resentful I get instead. I also have zero interest in the "pop idol" facet of Barbara's personality, and was more interested in her in the story when she was doing her priest/nun role, since I'm EXTREMELY used to "cutesy bubbly girl who sings" and not very used to "cute-but-serious nun" characters.

(Also call Barbara fucking minor-coded again and I will find a way to rip through this computer screen I swear to god)

Next would probably be Childe being some kind of confident playboy. I think that's born of the English dub exclusively, and has no fitting place in any genuine part of his personality. It's hard to explain, but he gives me way more of an Innocent But Violent Kid vibe, particularly with his devotion to the Tsaritsa. (No this isn't child-coding, this is a description of trauma stuff) And I find that much more fascinating. (Also very funny to think his sex education might be a little lacking if he had to learn from other Harbingers or something) Also I have NO idea why people like him saying "girlie" so much. In every other language, he's far more polite and essentially says some form of "miss", and I haaaaaaate when people call me "girlie" so, so much. That's just a personal pet peeve of mine. Can't trust english fandom with anything.

And basically, in general, if it's the english fandom's version of the character, I pretty much exclusively don't understand it or its appeal. The takes of people that only engage with the english dub and nothing else are generally pretty bad and way off the mark for actual characterizations, especially with things like the Harbingers.

While I've since remembered some ship takes I genuinely dislike a bit, one that baffles me endlessly is Kazuha/Wanderer; specifically the version where they make a lot of parallels between Kazuha and Niwa, but think it's BadWrong to ship Niwa/Wanderer. Like, friend, bud, amigo, chum, pal.......what? You're very, very close to just writing straight up Niwa/Wanderer, what's your problem, why are you complaining?

(...I also don't really get why so many people like Wanderer/Mona. I kinda sorta get the basis, but I also just...don't...like Mona, as previously mentioned, and I don't really know what's so compelling about those two together.)

I'd generally advise to take mmmost of these with a grain of salt. I'm the type of person that can be tricked into liking anything so long as you get me writing it for whatever reason.

But I WILL grow to hate things out of spite also, so. you know.

Part 2 of My really insane college life 🙃🙃🙃

Ok The classes

To give you a little context, most (if not all) of the professors at the university are doctors, doctors in practice, who are helping the university because there is no professor. Therefore, many of them do not have the pedagogical preparation to teach the subjects they are assigned to, or despite having it, they explain as if ee were a human video recorder that perfectly captures the information they say at 100 words per second lmao.

This does not mean that they are all bad, I am lucky to have several who clearly love the career and teaching and they make me understand very well with their classes. But, as I mentioned, they are practicing doctors, they have been practicing their career for years and continue to practice it while teaching, So there is a lot of planning and time problems, sometimes they have to leave super quickly because something comes up at the hospital, or they don't teach classes that day because they have to operate or have a Medical appointment

And since we are short of teachers (to the point that we are one of the few sections that has all its teachers) it is not like we can change them So this results in sometimes going to the university (which for some is an hour away) to watch almost 1 hour of classes alone 🫠

The classrooms

As I was telling you, the section representative asked us for money at the beginning of classes to do Maintenance to the air conditioning of the classroom they had assigned to us, But then they changed our classroom to one without air conditioning and asked us all for $5 to pay for the Air conditioning, anatomical models (at least two per section) and curtains.

5 dollars is not much but considering that inflation in my country is very strong, And the national currency is 'the Bolivar' It's still money, but before that we had already paid for the projector (which was something that the teachers highlighted as essential because they show their slides there) And that was (if I'm not mistaken) around the same amount as what they were asking us this time, that's almost 10 dollars and it's only the first month. And that's not even all.

The first week of school was an ordeal, mentally and physically, we had no chairs, we entered our assigned classroom and there were more tables than chairs (and this is something I've always found funny because in high school, we were always scolded if we even leaned back from our desks, and the first time I sat at a table for lack of Chairs I thought they were going to scold me 😅, but I soon realized that the university student takes care of himself as best he can and everyone ends up sitting at the table without any scolding in the end) So we had to go ourselves to another room to look for chairs to complete the ones we were missing, it doesn't sound like much but the heat is horrible here and let's remember that it's not like we were going To rest in a cold room

Now the problem of the chairs is solved, it also happened to us once when they did the opposite, many chairs few tables

Anyway, we don't have windows, that is, we have the threshold and the frame but there is no glass 🫠 lmfao, and this continues like this. What's more, due to the lack of glass, they placed two blackboards (one in each window) as a substitute, I wish it were a joke, and there is only a portion left on the sides even without anything because it obviously does not cover everything

And we still don't have air conditioning or anatomical models

This, for several reasons, first, not everyone has paid those 5 dollars, both because they don't want to and because they don't have it (there are people who have to pay for tickets, rent and food).

Second, because there are more expenses, teachers ask for money to make copies of the exams, that is not a lot of money (depending on the teacher) but it is when several evaluations are added together (my current situation) That becomes up to a dollar added to what is already spent in the week Then there is the payment for the 'sports' shirts, only God knows why the hell we see that stuff, that was 5 dollars too (I didn't pay for them because the truth is that I was lethargic 😂)Then there are the copies that one has to make of the printed works that have to be delivered, which again, on their own are not much, but together they amount to dollars in that

And then (yes people, this continues) there is the money that they are now asking us to pay for the computer because the one we have been using until now belongs to a student and to take it from there to here (being for her personal use) it's not very practical And, for that it is 3 dollars per student, now they are also asking us for 2 dollars because the art and culture subject teacher, another that I don't know why the hell we see it, wants us to plant plants at the university, no, it's not a game, it's not a joke, it's not an exaggeration, it's just what I'm telling you.

And well, attached to that is a payment that had to be made by taking two dollars from the models' 5 dollars, to pay for an air Conditioned at a medical center where two professors give us classes And another dollar to rent a damn room to watch a midterm exam.

To give You some context and perspective One dollar is 36 bs, copies (prints) are charged from 10 bs to 20 bs, the bus fare is 5 bs for students, but, for example I must pay for bus and cart (a term for taxi basically) and that cart costs 15 bs, those who have to take the bus and car pay almost 30 bs per day, especially when they have to go to the Medical Center, because they have to pay more. Do the math for yourselves

⤷ we actually meet in highschool !! kuni was a year higher than me, we met through a school literature club. we were assigned together to some activity and, honestly, it was hard at first... although i was already known as the social butterfly in class, first time talking one on one with kuni was absolutely nerve-wracking. after few months we became close friends though! it's funny, although i was quite popular in my class... it still felt lonely sometimes. it felt a little less with him.

⤷ i fell for him and it took me a good month of realizing and constantly denying it. he fell for me and it took him months of realizing and constantly denying. i'm surprised that we actually ended up getting together! it happened some time before my graduation, when i was hanging out at his place and whining about how stressful everything was, and how worried i was about the future, and finals, and everything between, and... it just happened. he kissed me a few weeks later.

⤷ he unfortunately had to manage through the absolute mess i was after graduation; people i once knew started to drift away, i wasn't actually sure what i wanted to do after school and so many other issues... but he stayed with me and he was actually the one suggesting this whole florist thing– there still was time, after all. and i love flowers. you see, he buys me both real flowers and fake flowers often. the real ones are pretty boquets, and the fake ones are for me to arrange into pretty, little baskets when i'm bored.

⤷ walks together <3 down by the river, through the neighborhood, small forests, down by the train rails and many random places. movie dates and sleepovers, him studying while i lie on his bed and either read something, watch something or nap. if we happen to have enough free time and he's in the mood, i sometimes go with him to shopping malls... not to buy stuff, no, but judge how expensive everything is save for this one clothing store we have to visit, because i'm sure i'll find something nice for myself.

⤷ frankly, i was surprised to see him picking physics for his major. i knew he was good at science subjects, he even tutored me, but i never expected him to actually go into that direction... always expected history or something literature related. sometimes it makes me feel a little stupid around him, with oh how smart he is, compared to me and my stupid flowers but. he's fast to knock that thought out of my mind.

⤷ although kuni is a physics major, this man's knowledge about literature rivals mine... truly. literature debates are a weekly thing for us at this point. just grabbing a book and discussing its characters, arguing about its characters and going to far, far lenghts to defend our point. it goes past books too, sometimes we discuss movies or games and it seriously turns into a whole ass debate !! i always enjoy them though <3

⤷ my favourite thing to do ever is when we are about to sleep, im lying my head on his chest and simply talking about random things. about my day, about things i saw today, about my plans for the next day, all until i fall asleep. sometimes i'm too tired and barely last few minutes, sometimes kuni has to force me to go to sleep because if he doesn’t, we gonna end up staying till the morning.

Long-winded shpeel about zombies and human arrogance below the break.

Something that has always struck as me odd in zombie apocalypse fiction is the common phrasing of 'the end of the world' or something of the sort. The thing is, in a lot of zombie media, it really isn't. It is, at worst, the end of human civilization. But human civilization is not the world. I mean, let's look at The Walking Dead as the mainstream 'everyone knows this' example. To my knowledge, humanity eventually adapts and goes on to rebuild and survive the world with zombies just becoming a fact of life. Neat, good for them. But even if every single human being on the planet was killed by the zombie horde, the rest of the planet would basically be fine. Like, we've seen the undead go after some creatures, like one zombie that narfed down a bird (good luck explaining how he managed to get a hold of the flighty thing). But the thing is, it seems that the airborne zombie virus in that franchise only infects humans. I may be missing something as I am far from a virtuoso on the setting, but I have never heard of anything other than a human being infected and going undead. So even if the zombies chow down on other things, those things don't get back up after the fact. And we know that zombies decompose. They don't decompose all that quickly, granted, but they do deteriorate and break down with the passage of enough time - especially when they go into lurker mode and just sit around. The one that got pulled in half and left to rot in a field in episode one comes to mind. So with the sufficient passage of time, if there were no humans left to turn, then the zombies would eventually decompose into extinction. And what's left? A human-less planet earth. But planet earth has been without us for the overwhelming majority of its history. I know that's a lot to get through to arrive at my point, but I always find it interesting how so many people align 'the end of humanity' with 'the end of the world.' The world'll be fine and go on without us, you guys. Other forms of life will go on without us and thrive in the ruins we leave behind until those crumble into an indecipherable layer of plastic and carbon in the rock layers of earth in a few dozen-thousand years. We ain't the planet. We just live here. But a lot of people have developed this funny sort of involuntary arrogance where we assign ourselves a degree of existential importance we really don't have. And what is my point? Uh... Hm. I don't really have one? I don't know, take what you will from this infodump of words and I hope you have a nice day.

I was born in a poor family, my life was not easy but even though childhood was like that I still have something good happened in my life. When I was a kid i was very skinny and my skin colour is super brown because I was always outside. I remember playing Bahay-bahayan and other traditional games every afternoon under the sun with my friends and cousins. I was the one who "leads" every games we did because I am the oldest during that time. Even at school, I remember playing with my classmates every free time, lunch time and after class. We would always play Chinese garter, touching ball and dakop-dakopan. Funny part when my teacher gave us assignments and I didn't how to do it so i would make a help to my sister which is my older sister, and then she discuss it to me and ofc I was listening but still I didn't know what to do, so she would scream at me and you know I am a very sensitive and so I did is to cry. It was so funny for real and I miss those times, It was a very very like childhood feel for me, but this isn't the end yet. When im almost a teenager my mother would always scream at me because I don't for real like I was just a child and every little mistakes I did will always be big for them and they would get angry to me. Also my life wasn't easy with my sister because even though it's just a little mistakes like a LITTLE MISTAKE she would still fucking scream at me and then say bad to me but I couldn't do anything because I am the youngest and she was the older sister, so I just go silent and go to the room silent crying and even until now that im almost adult she will still scream at me like a wild lion.

During my Highschool days, this is the time where I was crushing to someone so at grade I had a crush with my classmate who is a girl. We were friends and sher sits behind me but she didn't know that I had a crush on her because I didn't tell her. Funny part is that she had a girlfriend that time. Before I forgot to tell you, I am a girl who is also inlove with a girl, in short im a lesbian. Continue so when the 8th grade ends, I told her that I have a feelings for her and she also felt the same, without me knowing that her feelings wasn't real. We became girlfriends ( they broke up) but it didn't last, it was only 3 days haha funny right. When the covid started and there was no face-to-face class i felt bored so I downloaded an app called "YUBO". The app is installed and I logged in so in that app you can meet new friends and even girlfriend/boyfriend. I was living in YUBO at 3a.m almost 4 a.m and then suddenly there's this girl who joined my live who's from Germany. She added me and asked for my IG and ofcourse I gave my instragram we talked everytime and after 3 days I guess she asked me to be her girlfriend and so I said YES. Our communication was okay because she can speak english and I can a little bit. We would always talk everyday and everynight and would do video call everynight its our way to see each other even thought we're long distance. Our relationship were good and sadly we only lasted for only 8 months. I didn't date anyone for 1yr after that so this girl change my mine. This girl is my school mate and we would always see eachother everytime we get modules in school but we wouldn't talk because were shy I guess. And the best part is when she added me on facebook and ofcourse I confirmed her. She replied on my story and I replied to her and our convo started. Fast forward after like how many months of talking we decided to go dating and we became girlfriend and girlfriend but that relationship didn't last it only lasted for 3months but its okay we are still friends 'till right now.

But foreal aside those sweet moments at school there's also a sad happening inside at home who even I thought I could call a "Happy home". I am the youngest child so every work at home is always on me. I am not a very productive person so when my mother will give me task I will always say "I'll do it later" and that later my mother cannot wait so she just gonna do the task she gave me and then she would start becoming a "dragon" and yeah I mean sometimes its my fault. But for real there's always a time that even though I did everything I could sometimes, there's always wrong about it with them it's like its not worth it and I felt worthless and that didn't stop until now. There were times that I was about to end my life but I just couldn't. Right now my life is still not that good and bad, I mean those things still happens I guess I just couldn't get rid of that kind of problem. Now I am turning eighteen and almost in to college, I have a big future for my self and also for my family. I am the youngest child and I want to give them everything that my other siblings couldn't give. I am now studying anything I can do and will pursue my future for the betterment. And even though our financial problem is hard its still okay for me as long as I am able to buy or get the important thing I need. I just want to say to my self is that I CAN DO ANYTHING I WANT IF YOU HAVE FUTURE AND WORK FOR IT.

Reflection of Happy Hour by Marlowe Granados ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is like Broad City in a book.

It’s such a good slice of life of a 20something living(struggling) in the big city

If you’re looking for a plot this isn’t the book but what is so great about it is how Marlowe describes the things , like things that you’ve felt but never put words to it (see fav quotations section)

- It’s like stream of consciousness but witty and similar to mine and my friends (so maybe it’s just the brain of a 20 something)

I'm so sorry for putting Tumblr back in its peak era, but i have to.

For me, at least. But maybe you can take something from this too.

We all went through something super dramatic and came out different in one way or another. Some people changed for the better, some people for the worst. A lot of people cam out of the COVID-19 pandemic with more social anxiety or experienced it for the first time (like me). Most of us sat and continue to occupy positions today which provide us with challenges and impact our day-to-day in unfavorable ways.

As I sit here writing this, I have a million other things I need to be doing--but I'm so tired. Physically tired--sleep deprived to the point where it's not even funny, mentally drained and exhausted. I've fallen behind in so many tasks and assignments. Yet, sometimes we have to be the person who allows ourselves to take a break and express our thoughts and articulate our emotions when no one else will. When the world is not giving you the kindness and consideration that you deserve, make sure to make time and space for yourself. Writing this will probably make my thoughts a lot clearer (well, I'm sleep deprived again, so maybe moreso...less cluttered). I just feel like so many thoughts are hanging over my head in a cloud that I don't have time to think about. But in the long run, really, it makes everything harder to navigate.

If you take anything away from this, give yourself the 5 minutes and a much needed break to do what you need to do for yourself, like I am doing now.

I transferred to a new university away from my hometown, a passion that I loved, a community that I loved to do my passion with, and almost everyone I knew. I've been in undergrad for damn near long enough to have (maybe) my graduates. I'm supposed to finally graduate this quarter.

But I'm just so tired...and anxious, and depressed. I know that it's much better to talk to a professional about this but I'm not able to right now. I work 20 hours per week, and go to school more than full time since my advisors pushed me to graduate earlier than everyone else I know graduating for no specific reason. One day, I was sitting in class an my heart rate on my watch rose to 155BPM--i wasn't doing anything, I was just sitting there anxious. I thought I was having a heart attack and drove to the hospital, staying overnight.

Anxiety is never something I've had to face in my day-to-day which impacts it at that level before. After COVID, however, I am anxious in all social situations and especially in an unfamiliar community (still fairly new to me because of the stay-at-home orders, remember?) This was supposed to be my last hurrah at a university experience after years of working through community college to transfer. And I moved away from everyone and everything I loved to sit in my room for two fucking years, gaining health problems and mental problems I didn't know would be popping up now after society has been opened back up for awhile.

And yet here I am when it matters most. The one class that is required specifically for graduation--I wrote the wrong deadline down. I'm embarrassed and scared to email my professor about it. I've had to meet with my other professors, too, about missing work and falling behind. Even in work I'm behind on work. I feel so bad but I genuinely felt like my birthday, two days ago, was too much for me to think about let alone celebrate--how do i pull myself out of this? how do i not blame myself? i have severe adhd impairment and because of my newfound anxiety heart rate, cannot take my medication without precaution. everything that could possibly go wrong is going wrong. and i'm so depressed.

i know this sounds like it went from maybe inspirational to a lot of whining, but honestly, i just need space to vocalize and vent. i don't know who else to talk to. i haven't made any friends since I've transferred.

anyway, i have to go try to tackle the never ending workload that i have in lieu of the past-due dates that are glaring at me at all times in my mind.

Your score, time, and leaderboard ranking are all tracked – logged, waiting for you to do better. It’s goading you to restart and do better, even before you have time to think about looking at what's next.
