fest credits & acknowledgements;
an author’s note by yours truly, ames ivettel <3
"oh, wow..." was pretty much all i could say as i scrolled through the f1blrcreatorsfest23 tag on the evening of august 1st. i was in a hotel room with some of my best friends in the world, all of us piled on a single bed, my laptop balanced precariously in the air as i passed around tumblr posts like a blunt, and already, i was floored by the initial response to the fest. little did i know that my mind would continue to be blown.
not to ruin the illusion, but going into the month, i was so stressed and scared that things wouldn’t happen—literally, the day the festival launched, we were still doing prep work. fio and i had committed to a morning of Getting Life Shit Done, and while she did more important stuff, i was on after effects finishing up the launch post and rushing through the caption (and bothering her 💀). i hit post and went to touch grass, already kind of having given up on things going smoothly… and i came back to the best chaos i’ve ever seen, along with the feeling that i was completely out of my depth.
honestly, if i’d run this behemoth of an event completely by myself, i’m sure it would have flopped early. not for lack of trying, mind, but simply because running a community festival is a team game at heart; you need input from others if you want to make something big for others!
so, with that said, i’d love to give credit where credit is due. i hope you’ll join me in giving a standing ovation to these stellar individuals!
first and foremost, a massive shoutout to barbi @brawn-gp for kickstarting the idea in the first place: a racing sideblog that prompts community challenges for motorsportblr. the very foundation this fest is laid on is because of you! thank you also for running the queue for most of the month and being so meticulous with the tagging system—our blog would not be here without you!
next, thank you to kyle @princemick and riel @azrphales for your work doing posters and being active members of the exec team! as i tried to chase people down to vote on big decisions, your quick input was a sigh of relief—a sign that others wanted this fest to happen just as badly. your promo work was literally invaluable in getting this to take off and stay strong. thank you both for your work post-launch (additional planning + sideblog modding)! a special thank you to kyle for being so active in the discord server and supporting our participants, also for participating so much in the fest itself <3
another big thank you to garnet @garnetaldebaran! your suggestions were incredibly insightful and thoughtful while trying to create the fest’s schedule and events. you really came through with the organization of our first sprint, which proved so helpful when organizing the second and third. and the creations you made for the fest on top of it all? absolutely gorgeous!
to nico @userscuderia and fio @maranello, thank you for lighting the inspirational fire we needed to get ideas flowing on what we could do in addition to weekly themes! the very concept of our sprint challenges, our silly f1-themed guidelines, and our motivation for most of july are thanks to you!
finally: nami @boyfrombarbados, emma @dannysricciardo, and ginevra @leclerqued, thanks for rolling with the changes to the video editing server / joining the pitwall on the fly! your comments were great and helped us define how we wanted to shape our fest identity.
i set out, initially, to try and change the culture around f1blr—to show noncreators that there is so much talent that exists in the fanbase, and that to keep us going, pretty much all we ask for are reblogs. maybe even a nice comment or two! it’s been made pretty clear, however, that the lack of interaction and interest in supporting creators stretches far, far beyond our reach.
that said, not all hope is lost! if this fest has done anything, i think it’s encouraged people to try new things artistically and really push the boundaries of what it means to make a #f1edit. at the end of the day, isn’t that what this is all about? being on the side of art, encouraging creation, fostering support? if we can continue to push ourselves—and really enjoy the act of creating—doesn’t our spirit count for anything?
so i’ll sign off on this by saying one last thing: stay passionate about the beauty you give to the world. it matters, regardless of the notes, the likes, and the comments; it matters, and most of all, you matter.
thank you, everyone! a gold star for each of you ⭐️
-xo ames

So some of you may have seen the other day that I've considered switching blogs. I've decided I'm going to switch to a new blog, but since this is a sideblog I can connect it to a main blog and still have access to it.
However, I don't really intend to be active here after I've made the full move to the other blog. I know I have anons that have wanted to discuss the Fodlan series with me. If you're one of those people, I'll be continuing to answer anons there, so once I have the blog set up, I'll post a link. This blog will be temporarily password protected while the link is up, but I'll reblog it every so often for my followers to see when I've moved.
This doesn't mean I won't answer asks sent to this blog. Firstly, I haven't moved blogs yet so this one will be active until then. Secondly, if you do send anything here after I've moved, I'll likely just answer it on the new blog and link the ask to the answer in the new blog.
I'll be reblogging all my content to the new blog. This includes my reblogs (such as older Tellius posts I want to carry over, etc), as well as my answered asks or just posts I've written like discussion posts or headcanons. Chances are I'm going to queue up a lot of posts per day, so though you'll be free to follow the blog while I'm moving posts, just be aware there might be a bit more activity there until I've gotten everything moved.
Once I've officially moved I'll be resuming my regular posting the same way I do here. I can check activity and whatnot on this blog anytime since it's a sideblog, so it won't be just totally ignored, but for a lot of reasons, at this point it's just time to let a decade old blog rest.
If you'd like me to send you a direct link through messages with the new blog once it's made, you can let me know and I'll send it to you through messages from this blog's main blog. I know I have some regular post interactors and rebloggers etc, so if you guys would want me to drop you a link to the blog I can do that.
This won't be immediate since I'm going to make an entirely new blog, but I'm going to start moving everything very soon. My commission info will also be moved to the new blog.
Lastly, this url will be given to the new blog and this one will be changed again, so the url I have with this blog now is still the one I'll be going with.

check-in tag🌻☁️
I was tagged by @lokisasylum @taemaknae & @kook-ssi 💖🌈✨
1. Why did you choose your url?
because it was time to move on from my old one ( i know more than half of the followers wont know, but if you followed me since the very beginning you’ll know the username). Also its inspired by THE song “euphoria” by the one and only jeon jungkook💜
2. Any sideblogs? If you have them name them and why you have them?
yes, @baekhunx (for other kpop groups)
3. How long have you’ve been on tumblr?
since 2012👵🏼
4. Do you have a queue tag?
#stargazing with jungkook (it’s self explanatory)💜
5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?
well at first I wanted to escape from my twitter nightmare are aka the toxic one direction fandom and a safe place for my anxiety (i was going through a difficult time with my family). But the i got into bts and the rest is history.
6. Why did you choose your icon?
because it’s an iconic jeon jungkook expression. you dont see people having this as an icon. plus i’ll probably wont change it, unless i get an updated one🥲
7. Why did you choose your header?
because i was bored and made it. it’s not like other blogs that move and has glitter and unless someone can do a perfect jinkook header (if you’re up for the challenge) please be my guess.
8. What’s your post with the most notes?
my “SIR-”, “cute boy with hats 👒” and “-precious” posts and all of them are taehyung🙂. (that itself has 1k each). Also i wrote something about ‘people need to stop bitching around if bts dont win all the awards and other groups do’ - that has too many notes.
9. How many mutuals do you have?
i have no idea at this point🥲
10. How many followers do you have?
0 (the number doesnt matter) but i still don’t understand why people follow me, i just reblog and post immature moodboards😅
11. How many people you follow?
561 but that number constantly changes because i keep unfollowing inactive blogs and im also following anime and book related blogs.
12. Have you ever made a shitpost?
my entire blog is a shitpost👀
13. How often do you use tumblr each day?
i used to be in it 24/7. since i started working, it’s been a little less. but im still here🤩
14. Did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? Who won?
yes, so many. my first fight was about the post i made about ‘people need to stop bitching around if bts dont win all the awards and other groups do’. She/he called me “fake fan” and proved my point that some fans are toxic and the end she/he told me to jump of a cliff ( i dont want to say what was really said to me) the point is…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
another story was too funny. someone wrote me “you post too much jungkook”… *SHOCKER* have you seen my username, linda? do you expect me to post nct or ariana grande?
last one, someone send me an ask that i should stop spamming with my moodboards. well im sorry… no one is saying anything to the gifmakers, but okay. since that i havent post much moodboards. thanks karen.🤗
15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?
read me carefully… I HATE IT!!!!!! I WONT REBLOG IT AND DONT EVEN DARE TO MESSAGE ME BECAUSE I WILL BLOCK YOU.
Tumblr media
16. Do you like tag games?
Of course i do. I used to do one everyday. But then i felt that people got annoyed by my tags, then i did them again. Im not doing them much because of the time. But best believe that i do see, read and like them all. Right now im probably doing like 5 tags coming soon😂
17. Do you like ask games?
I do. But sometimes i forget to answer them and when i have time to answer them, i feel like nobody cares anymore🥺
18.which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
everyone.
19. Do I have a crush on a mutual?
i love myself. *jokes* i love everyone here.
20. Tags?

random questions game
Tagged by @kbeesims. Thank you very much! I’m taking a break from studying rn, so let’s do this.
1. why did you choose your url?
Nika is actually one of the first things I’ve ever called myself as a kid and last year I decided to sort of “reclaim” this old nickname and start using it again in online places and I’m surprised by how right it feels.
As for Tyler, well. I think it’s obvious. In my head he’s the main character of this blog, the mascot, if you will. And also, and this is a bit embarrassing, but about a month or two ago I saw this post that was like “changing names shouldn’t be such a big deal, we expect trans people to do it if they’re uncomfortable with their birth name, but we should normalize EVERYONE changing their names if they’re not okay with it” (or something along these lines). And well, I like my name, but I thought, what if I didn’t like it, what would I pick instead. Immediately, this one popped up in my head. Yeah. I mean it makes sense to me, but it feels so dumb at the same time. So yeah. I guess if you called me Tyler, I would respond to it. I’m not sure how I feel about the fact that I would respond to it, but hey. It’s weird but it would work.
2. any sideblogs? name them and why you have them.
The only one that is still active is my cc finds blog @simmeronnie-cc (yes I need to rename it too, we’ll do that). I don’t really post on my sort-of-studyblr-but-more-like-a-rantblr sideblog or my simspiration blog anymore. Among other things, I rant on twitter again (@/nikatyler22 if anyone’s interested), and I need to bring back the simspo tag on this blog.
3. how long have you been on tumblr?
Almost five years. I refuse to believe that.
4. do you have a queue tag?
I do. Well, I schedule my posts manually, I don’t queue them (because earlier this year I noticed it would eat at least one post a day, so I stopped using it), but still. I don’t know what I’d do without this function haha
5. why did you start your blog in the first place?
There was this blog that did this really cool comic with very pretty characters. That’s what convinced me lol, even though my content has never been like theirs.
6. why did you choose your icon?
Because Tyler lol
7. why did you choose your header?
Because Tyler and Sharon and I want to have what they have dAMMIT
But I might change the picture for the one I posted yesterday, you know, the awkward one
8. whats your post with the most notes?
That would be the pride paints post I believe!
9. how many mutuals do you have?
I don’t know, but a lot I think? At least in the simple sense of “I follow you and you follow me.” I never counted it. I’m not sure how many people would actually consider me their mutual or online friend or something like that. I hope someone would haha
10. how many followers do you have?
Over 2 000. What the heck. I mean, not many people are actually active and I think most of them don’t even lurk, but it’s still a pretty cool number
11. how many people do you follow?
I checked and it’s 183. I can’t realistically keep up with all of them but at the same time I’d feel bad for unfollowing any of them
12. have you ever made a shitpost?
My entire blog is a big shitpost tbh, and I wouldn’t have it any other way ✌✨
13. how often do you use tumblr a day?
I usually keep the tab open all day and just check it from time to time. I’m not counting
14. did you have a fight/argument with another blog once?
Oooooh boy
Yes. I was dumb, okay? Very dumb.
15.  how do you feel about “you need to reblog” posts?
Those scared me when I was younger, I remember I couldn’t sleep when I was like 8 and saw one of those “repost this or you’ll die in 7 days” pictures. Now I’m okay with them, I just scroll past. Usually. Sometimes I still get nervous. Don’t post them, guys. You can really hurt people with anxiety and similar issues.
16. do you like tag games?
Y E S
17. do you like ask games?
Y E S   Y E S   Y E S   PLEASE SEND ME ASKS
18. which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
One that immediately comes to my mind is @berrysweetboutique. I can’t believe such a big simblr is following me and seeing my daily pixel clownery on their dash :D
19. do you have a crush on a mutual?
I don’t, but back in the day, I used to sort of put some simblrs on pedestals and then act in a way that I thought they would like, if that makes sense, and I was really insecure about what they would think, and if we started talking I was so worried I’d say or do something wrong and it was all in all not a great experience. I know it’s not a crush in the romantic sense, but it reminds me of how sometimes you’d go and try to impress a crush and change yourself so that they like you too. I guess they were sort of crushes in the sense of “oh wow this person is so amazing and perfect, I’m so little next to them, they could probably never love me the same way I love them”. Anyway, once you let go of that mentality and just start doing whatever, without trying to impress anyone...oh that freedom is sweet.
Sorry, went off topic here 😅
20. tags?
I’m just gonna tag whoever wants to do this, go make another cup of coffee and go back to my 19th century poetry 😄

Lovely Kim @kerasines tagged me in this, so here we go !

tagged by @awsugar and @iero to do this!! i’ve never done this one so ty :’)
1. Why did you chose your url
when i REALLY got into mcr in like january 2020 (i’d been a fan before but pretty much only listened to about half of revenge and then tbp and dd) sorrows was one of the very first songs of bullets i got into specifically the knives/sorrow demo on mdnsy. i was checking for canon mcr urls and i saw that this one was taken and i was DESPERATE to have it (also because it’s a bit more ~niche~ reference to our lady) so on the off chance i dm’ed the blog and its owner just happened to check tumblr for the first time in years a few days later and let me have it :) akdjfhksdjhf that was so long
2. Any sideblogs?
technically THIS is a sideblog because @wakemeupbeforeyouvangogh is my main (i didn’t understand how accounts work when i made this blog) but i also run @seaborns (tv, mostly criminal minds and the west wing), @njolras (les mis), i used to run @vsuvia (the arcana) but it’s inactive now, and i also make gifs and content for @daily-cm
3. How long have you been on Tumblr?
it was my ninth anniversary on my birthday ;____;
4. Do you have a queue tag?
yeah, it used to be #still into queue but now i don’t wanna use that bc ch*d so it’s #drain the fantasy of queue which is from pool by paramore aka THEEEEE song. i try to keep a pretty active queue but i forget a lot
5. Why did you start your blog in the first place?
my friend sarah had a blog in sixth grade and it was all about superwholock (of course) i can still so clearly picture the photo of the eleventh doctor she had in her sidebar. but my parents were super strict on the internet (and also i had just recently had someone creep on me on instagram) so they didn’t let me get a blog until i was 13 and it had to be about something educational (hence the van gogh theme for my main). until then i checked a few blogs like the morning paper. and i made this blog because my dad didn’t know how tumblr worked and i was getting into bandom and bored of not posting about it
6. Why did you chose your icon/pfp?
love of my life
7. Why did you choose your header?
it’s not the best picture of it but i really love the brand new eyes stage setup with the picture frames and it goes with my icon
8. What’s your post with the most notes?
it’s this hayley edit with almost 40k which is so embarrassing because i didn’t properly source either of the pictures and i think the second one is actually someone else’s edited pic that i just slapped a sepia filter over...... i was 14 i didn’t know better
9. How many mutuals do you have?
it’s really hard to tell bc mutual checker doesn’t work since this is my sideblog
10. How many followers do yo have?
3,160 <333
11. How many people do you follow?
okay please don’t lose your minds but 2,308..... a ton of them are inactive it’s just genuinely too many to unfollow with inactivity checker
12. Have you ever made a shitpost?
yeah lasjfhlaskdjfhh a ton i think my best shitpost is the compilation of star wars actors trashing kylo ren
13. How often do yo use tumblr a day?
it really depends and it’s kind of less rn because i work a lot but i’m assuming i’ll be more active when im home in a few days with nothing to do but i tend to try to at least queue some stuff before i go to bed
14. Have you ever had an argument/fight with another blog?
yeah jdfhdkjfh multiple times. when i was younger it was dramatic but now it just tends to be arguing with reposters
15. How do you feel about “you need to reblog this” posts?
if it’s like political or about something going on in the world then i’ll probably reblog it, if it’s one of those old-fashioned “LISTEN HERE FUCKERS LET ME EXPLAIN U A THING” then i will ignore it. unfortunately reblog bait (i.e. reblog this for good luck or you’ll have the worst day of your life) gets me because i have ocd
16. Do you like tag games?
yeah i love them i’m just so bad at remembering to do them
17. Do you like ask games?
YES i absolutely adore them but for some reason like EVERY time i post one i have to go do something else but i want to do more
18. Which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous?
i honestly have no idea. mack and kay both have a lot of followers but idk if that counts as tumblr famous... is tumblr famous even a thing anymore
19. Do you have a crush on a mutual?
i am in a healthy loving relationship with my polycule the bandom creators server <3
20. Tags
hm i tag: @dangersday @smileandasong @raytorosaurus @lolalovesu @girlfriend-frank @adamlazzara and @mikeywayinc! sorry if any of you have been tagged before i cannot read <3

6. why did you choose your icon/pfp? seunghyub is beautiful and orange is just a nice colour? idk i saw it and went ‘THATS IT, THATS THE ONE’

12. have you ever made a shitpost? nope!
13. how often do you use tumblr each day? i check it while making cups of tea, so that much.
14. did you have a fight/argument with another blog once? who won? i did once bc i’m a big old bully /s. i’d say we won bc we had the moral high ground bc we don’t treat people as commodities, but they still have a loving 11k followers so i think stupidity won honestly.
15. how do you feel about 'you need to reblog this' posts? my brain switches off bc i have adhd and can not follow instructions.
16. do you like tag games? i love them! i’m a chronic oversharer!
17. do you like ask games? i do but i never do them.
18. which of your mutuals do you think is tumblr famous? honestly? all of them. i’m shocked every single time someone i follow follows me back. like are you sure you’re meant to be here? did you get lost?

PSA: Back-ish + Archiving
So, after giving it a lot of thought, I think that archiving this blog and getting a fresh start might be the best thing for me, even though I know like 8 or so of the 14 people who actually interact with me were concerned about that ahaha. In all seriousness, this blog has been here a while, there are a lot of followers who don’t interact with me at all or aren’t even active, and archiving this one and moving elsewhere is probably the best for everyone really, especially since it might help prevent burnout like what I was feeling a lot of lately.
Now I will be re-following a lot of my mutuals who are still active and interact with me, and I’ll probably fill this queue with reblogs about this blog having moved once I do make a proper post about it, but I’m also likely gonna drop most threads from this blog and my sideblog (as I’ll be moving that too) with maybe only a couple of exceptions? I’ll sort that out once I actually get to making the new blog and migrating things over there.
Sorry if this concerns any of you lovelies, but I think for my mental health and for the sake of getting rid of some stress, this is the right way to go. But don’t worry, if you really wanna interact with me, just follow me on the new blog when I do finally get it set up, I promise you’ll be welcome to ^^
TTFN, ta-ta for now!

Tumblr media
WELCOME TO MY TIPS, ADVICE AND TUTORIALS SERIES.
This series of posts is intended to teach and/or remind users of pretty much anything regarding Tumblr, from basic rules to gif tutorials.
Today we will be covering Part 1: Back to Basics
The latest trends with social media have left users with a bitter taste in their mouths, and made Tumblr less appealing. Here we will be covering some general rules that there are about Tumblr. They may not be spoken or even be in Tumblr’s terms of service but you’ll find many people - especially creators stick by these rules.
1. FOLLOWING
Who you follow is important and it may seem like a simple thing to just hit that follow button, but it’s important to check blogs before you follow. Some blogs have a before you follow (which usually can be found in their description), which will specify if they don’t want certain people following - this is usually a bloggers way of avoiding triggers.
So lets take a case, you find a blog and you would like to follow them. You go into their about or before you follow in their description where it specifies that they do not want haters of a [insert character name] to follow them. You in fact hate that character, so in that case you respect their wishes and do not follow them.
It’s also important to note, when you follow someone you almost sign a contract with some bloggers - as if you unfollow them and they are following you they may automatically unfollow you, possibly blacklist you and even block you. It depends on the blogger, but it is something you should be aware of.
2. LIKES
This is a hot and controversial topic, especially amongst creators. Here’s the most important thing to remember, Tumblr is NOT Facebook, Tumblr is NOT Twitter and Tumblr is NOT Instagram. Likes work differently on this site compared to the others and this must ALWAYS be taken into account, likes in fact while count for notes do little for a post beyond adding +1 to notes.
There are no strict rules regarding liking, you can like whatever you want but it’s reblogs you should be more aware of as that is will what allow to see content on your dash.
Also note, everything you like goes into your like page (which can be found in Mobile) and can be publicly viewed unless you make it private in your settings. I’d recommend keeping it private, because the content you want people to see - that you like, should be on your blog and it’s a good way of one keeping track of content and keeping things private that you like but don’t want others to see.
3. REBLOGS
Reblogs are important for pretty much anyone on this site, but especially creators. This could be writers, artists and editors.
Similar to likes, there are no rules regarding reblogs which part of the reason the like-reblog ratio has suffered so much in the past year.
My recommended method is Reblog if you Like and by that I do not mean reblog everything you like, I mean if you like the content so much you want others to see it and you want to see more of the same then you reblog it. Even if you don’t keep it on your blog permanently and delete it later, it still counts as a reblog.
This may sound contradictory, because some people are very exclusive about what goes on their blogs, in particular aesthetic blogs. In which case I recommend you either avoid all non-to your interest content or Create a Sideblog (which we will go into next time) to post the content to.
As I said reblogging shouldn’t be taken lightly, reblogging allows for content to be spread, thus no reblog = cannot spread and therefore cannot be seen. If content cannot be seen, then creators will cease to create and this site would basically die.
HOWEVER, I must also mention that if someone tells you NOT to reblog something whether in tags or comment section then you DO NOT REBLOG that post, as the op will have a reason for not wanting something reblogged.
4. QUEUING
Queuing is one of the best things about Tumblr, in my opinion. One of the flaws in reblogging is that you can spam people’s dashs when you reblog over and over.
Many people, myself included set up a queue where things are reblogged at specific times (you can time it to be scheduled to certain times of specific days). This is useful to make sure that your blog is consistently active, even if you are away for days or weeks at a time.
Additionally, it is useful to use alongside likes. I personally like things I plan to queue, and then use the likes as bookmarks to tell what I have not reblogged. Then once my queue is getting low i go through my likes and queue them up - and unlike them. Thus keeping notes at the same and keeping my blog organised.

hey, i noticed that you liked a gifset i made but didn't reblog it. may i ask why? i'm trying to figure out if i need to improve my creations or not. thanks for your time!
hi there. this has been sat in my inbox for a bit because i wasn’t sure how i wanted to respond. still not sure this will be an answer you’ll like, but here we go. i don’t know which gifset you’re referring to - perhaps if you talk to me off anon, i’ll be able to clarify further - but the general answer is going to be one of two things: firstly, i queue pretty much everything. i currently have 224 items in my queue and a further 147 in my drafts that i’ll add to my queue at some point. and this is just for my main blog. i also have a sideblog which has 381 items waiting to be queued. this means there is a solid chance your gifset will be posted on one of these blogs at some point in the near future. i like them so i know not to queue a thing twice.
the other option is that i thought it was pretty but it’s from a fandom i’m not part of. this is considerably less likely, but sometimes a thing will catch my eye and i’m hesitant to reblog it because i know nothing about it. it doesn’t mean your creation is lacking in any way, it just highlights my ignorance of the thing you made, even if i found the colouring/composition appealing.
i hope this helps you to understand that not reblogging your artwork is not a slight towards you. i’m sure it’s great - there’s a reason why i liked it. chances are i just haven’t got around to reblogging it yet.
what i would like to add, though, is that if you’re not making things for yourself, for the sheer pleasure of making them, because you have an idea in your head that you want to see brought to fruition, then you’re probably not doing it for the best reasons. doing anything just to get likes or notes or whatever is likely to lead to disappointment because no one is obligated to like or reblog anything they don’t want to.
i understand it’s disheartening to spend time working on something and get little feedback and few notes, but that’s what it boils down to. you can create, but no one is duty-bound to share your creations. you can’t force them or pressure them or guilt them into it, so it’s better to create for you, for the joy of it, than to expect outside validation from a fickle userbase.
i hope you find your corner of the site where your work is consistently appreciated and reblogged, and i’m sure you’ll see your art on one of my blogs soon.

Do you have any advice for a new blog?
🌸 Oh this is such an interesting ask, I’ve been thinking about it for a few days now, sorry it’s taken a while to get back to you but I was thinking how best to answer it! While this blog has only been around for 3 years and I’ve only really started posting in it recently, I have had my main tumblr blog for 10 years and several side blogs with quite a few followers so I’m hoping I can provide some insight! I do apologise as this turned into a bit of a ramble that I feel is about tumblr but beings to overlap into life advice lol - I blame my age. 🌸
1.) I would say firstly, enjoy it. I feel sometimes there’s a lot of pressure to get loads of followers, create new content etc. and you can forget why you’re here. I got tumblr to reblog photos of things that made me happy from bands to tattoos, movie stuff, art etc and occasionally I would forget that and end up getting bogged down in comparing stats and myself to others. So yeah, enjoy it and remember why you joined ^_^
2.) If you love work that others create (writing/art/gif sets etc.) show your appreciation not just with likes but with comments and reblogging where you can/feel comfortable doing so. Likes are great and always appreciated but comments help to inspire and reblogging means more people will see their work. It encourages content creators to continue creating, it’s also a really good way of gaining followers and make friends. If you support others they will likely support you in return.
3.) Share the art/fan art/cosplay photos you love as per above - but don’t repost work. This was something I wasn’t really aware of when I first joined tumblr, a lot of people would just save photos from google or deviant art (it was a very different place back then) and post them on tumblr to show appreciation. But often there would be no artist detail or link to the artist, instead if you find something you like reblog it from the creator. If it isn’t on tumblr and you’d really like to post it here, contact the creator and ask their permission to post - then include a link in the post and explain you have the artist’s permission.
4.) Talk to people :) - Okay like Alice in Wonderland here’s some advice I could really use sometimes! Through tumblr I have met some of the most amazing friends. When I first started out I started chatting to a girl who went to the same Uni as me, we met up to go for coffee, browse record shops and saw The Vaccines together. I’ve also met numerous people who encouraged me to go to Hobbit Con in Germany - I had the most amazing time, remained friends, one of them came to my wedding. I guess the message here is that internet friends are great and you never know what a friendship can blossom into. If there’s someone whose work you admire or blog you love, don’t be afraid to reach out and send a message, even if you feel a bit silly (I often do!).
5.) Tags - My take on tags is pretty simple, tag correctly. I often tag things quite heavily but I make sure that I only tag characters that feature in a post or fandoms that feature in that post etc. You often come across posts where every character in the show has been tagged, I get why people do it, it means the post will come up in more results but it is rather infuriating when you’re looking for something specific. It also looks messy and can make things hard to find on your own blog. So yeah tag the show/film/book etc, tag the relevant characters, add whatever tags you want regarding your feelings/emotions about the post or thoughts on it. But ideally keep it relevant. On that note, tag ships (people often blacklist ships they dislike or that they find problematic) so doing this helps everyone. Anything that’s only really suitable for people 18+ tag however you see fit (due to Tumblr’s changes last year we had to revert to tagging things on the citrus scale again so I tag anything like that as lemon as well as nsft) Finally Trigger/content warnings - I do use them, some people put warnings on everything, some people don’t do at all. Again like with shipping it is helpful for people who have
6.) Remember to take breaks - tumblr can be a little addictive and easy to pass time (like social media) so remember to take breaks, when you get back they’ll be loads of new stuff on your dashboard to look at ^_^
7.) Follow loads of blogs! I probably should have put this higher up. But have a think about the kind of content you want to see and spend some time searching for blogs that fit that, I also find it’s nice to follow some more aesthetic blogs or blogs that are calming/relaxing, seeing things like that on my dash is always a reminder to have a breather!
8.) Enjoy playing around with themes - decide what you want your blog to be about (and remember there’s nothing wrong with having a main blog that’s a little bit of everything you love as well as personal stuff!) and then have fun with the settings. There’s a lot of free tumblr themes, some of which are pretty neat and user friendly in terms of customisation. Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you’re stuck.
9.) Side blogs are also really great. I begun to create side blogs because I didn’t want to spam my main blog with Game of Thrones, The Hobbit, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Attack on Titan, so I created side blogs. I still post about all these things on main but not as frequently. A side blog can also be good if you want to create a blog you can share with employers - I have a side blog for my photography and one for my writing. Sideblogs are also a good way of keeping certain material away from the blog where people in real life are most likely to find you. Generally I won’t post 18+ material on my main blog, so smutty fan fiction etc. goes on the side blogs. As a side note, when you have a side blog you cannot like posts or ask questions as that side blog - it will be from your main blog.
10.) Try not to get disheartened if you create original content and it doesn’t get a lot of attention at first. When you create a blog it can take time to gain followers/traction. But remember as per point 1, that Tumblr should be fun and creating content should first and fore mostly be for you and your enjoyement. But if you continue to create, tag appropriately but also show appreciation for fellow creators there’s no reason why in time you won’t flourish. And as per point 3, if you reblog others work there’s a chance they in return will reblog your art.
11.) There’s extension kits you can get for tumblr, I know some people use them and find them helpful. I’m not sure they’re as poplar/needed now as they used to be. I used to use one but don’t feel the need now, however might be worth a google or asking someone more knowledgeable to see if it’ll work for you.
12.) You can blacklist tags through settings, if there’s any ships, characters, things you’d rather not see on your dash or that you find upsetting or triggering I’d recommend blacklisting them. If people tag correctly you shouldn’t much/if any of it.
13.) Under blog settings you can also choose whether you want your blog to be searchable via the email address you registered with and on google. I switched this off pretty much as soon as it became a feature! My blogs, even my main blog are a piece of me which is only shared with a select few people in real life. I really do not need my colleagues, employers, certain family/friends finding this!
14.) Use Queues! I adore a queue.... Once I discovered they were a thing I try to have around 100 posts in my queue on main at any time. You can amend how many times you post a day (mine is around 8-12 times, I change it when i go away). It just means your blog remains active even if you can’t really log on for a week or two or if you’re on holiday. Occasionally I’ll add original posts into my queue with writing, it can be nice to come back and see the feedback. A lot of people put ‘queue’ in the tag, but you’ll realise most people have a quirky tag. For example on main mine is - one does not simply queue their way through tumblr. And on my red dead blog it’s - I had a god damn queue! Sadly on here I haven’t got one yet!
15.) Finally I would say engage in discourse as little as possible. It can be tempting and while drama can be fun for a while, even just to watch from the outside it can quickly escalate into something nasty and toxic. At first you might want to join in but tumblr can be, well it can be a lot at times and very noisy with everyone screaming their opinions and trying to be louder than the person before. I would say no fandom is inherently toxic, but it happens. A fandom I was heavily involved in last year had so much discourse and there was so much drama that even though I wasn’t involved in it my anxiety was through the roof, I had a panic attack over it and felt paranoid. After speaking to other older members in the fandom I felt much better (they too were annoyed with what was happening) and we realised that essentially a lot of it boiled down to a real lack of critical thinking. I’m not saying don’t get involved at all, sometimes I have seen things where I’ve felt things need to be said/action taken especially when it comes to intolerance and hatred. But I would say when you do engage - pick your battles. (I hope this last one makes sense). I started writing a lot more and going into the politics of it and ranting about bigots and then thought that’s probably enough! 😁
I hope this post helps! Like I said I’ve never been asked something like this so it took a bit of thinking but these are some of the key thoughts I had.
edit - I meant to add that obviously the above is just my opinion and based on my experiences on tumblr/thoughts about things.

Pokémon Ask Blogs: A Guide
{Also, on the back of the “don’t send in fetishy stuff” post, allow me to offer up a few tips on creating your own Pokémon Expert Ask Blog. Yes, there’s a story behind why this is related to the “don’t send in fetishy stuff” post. Tl;dr, don’t powergame, kids.
Aaaaaanyway, so you want to make your own Pokémon Expert Ask Blog! Starting up might sound like it’ll be a daunting task, but it’s pretty easy once you get the basics down.
Tip #1: Start Writing, and Do It Persistently
The granddaddy of all rules when it comes to text-based blogs: ya need content. Like, a lot of it. Tumblr’s always worked against authors, no matter what field you’re in. It’s just a natural fact of life that text posts get fewer notes and less attention than photos or art, so in order to gain traction, you’re going to have to be super-consistent and super-persistent with what you’re doing. And don’t worry about writing a mini novel or anything; a lot of blogs get along just fine with only a short paragraph or two per post.
You will not have a crapton of notes on every post when you start out, and sometimes, it can take months before you get anywhere. To give you an idea, I really don’t think this blog gained traction until about six months to a year in. (Granted, some people have gotten traction faster, but remember: those people aren’t everyone. And also, don’t compare your numbers to the numbers other people pull in. That’s a good way to burn yourself out.)
Finally, queues. Whenever possible, queue content. For example, if you know you’re going to have a lot of free time on a Sunday, consider writing up multiple posts and putting them all in queue so you’ll have something for Monday onwards.
Tip #2: Tags Are a Blogger’s Best Friend
Remember: the first five tags on your post are the tags your post will show up under, so use that to your advantage. Tag your post with the pokémon that you’re focusing on, as well as well-traveled tags like “pokemon headcanons.” The pokémon is especially important because you’ll be surprised how many fans every single one has, and some folks are dying for content, seriously.
You will, without a doubt, pull most of your readers through tags when you first start to gain traction. Yes, even more so than relying on your mutuals or sending your OC off to interact with others. Sure, the latter of those two sources can help, but there’s simply a bigger market out in the tag cloud.
Tip #3: Google Is Also a Blogger’s Best Friend
So you want to play a professor or pokémon expert, but you’re a college student who’s not even majoring in a science to begin with. No problem! You can 100% fudge it with the power of Google! Research everything you don’t know to the best of your ability.
A few protips on this, by the by:
* Academic websites and papers are usually the most reliable, and they’re not as intimidating to read as one might think. This is followed by news websites, of course, but be careful about which news website. BBC, CNN, local news stations, local papers = yes; Clearly Right Wing Term News = no.
* Don’t be afraid of zoo websites, government websites, well-funded organization websites (except PETA probably), magazines, and blogs run by vets or animal experts, either. (Yes, even if the latter sometimes look like they still think it’s 2006.)
* Contrary to what high school teachers might have you believe, Wikipedia’s science articles are actually pretty solid. No one wants to vandalize the wiki entry for an extinct marmoset, but you know who is editing that? Experts who want to talk about extinct marmosets. Also, most articles on the stuff you’ll probably need to put together an answer will have a mountain of sources to verify that, yes, everything on that page is by and large accurate.
Tip #4: It’s Okay to Fudge It
When in doubt, fudge it. As in, be creative with your science! It’s your blog, so do what you want! And anyway, this is a universe where a toddler-sized rodent can generate thousands of volts of electricity, so why should anyone stop you? (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧ Just remember to keep your canon straight. Nothing’s more awkward than accidentally retconning stuff.
Still, word of caution about this: while the majority of your readers might not know the difference, some do, and if you’re writing a pokémon expert blog, you will probably end up getting mansplained to. It’s best to just roll with it or find creative ways to incorporate those corrections into your work. If all else fails ... limit who can reply to your posts.
Tip #5: Don’t Be a Dick
Soooooo ... powergaming.
To put it in short, that’s the act of deciding for other RPers what their actions will be—or, in a sense, playing their characters. With ask/headcanon blogs, it’s a little fuzzier what that would mean because ask/headcanon blogs feature a character talking about their entire world, but usually, it means deciding for someone else what is and isn’t canon to their blog—or, in other words, sending in-character asks that contradict explicit canon of another player’s blog or that would otherwise not fit with the way that player has designed their universe. A lot of players will let this slide, but it’s still really hella awkward to suddenly be face-to-face with a character who's asking about something that’s technically impossible for your world.
But more importantly, let’s talk about advertising. Do not use someone else’s blog to advertise yours, especially if you’re powergaming to do it. That’s kinda not cool.
Or to clarify, it’s okay to send in-character asks. That’s perfectly fine so long as you’ve read up on the canon you’re about to send or so long as you send the player a message, asking if it’s cool first. It is also okay to send in an ask to the effect of, “Hey, I just started this blog; could you promo me?” or a message to the effect of, “Hey, I have this idea; can we RP it between our characters?” The first instance involves you going out of your way to fit into the player’s universe, which then ensures that they have control over the content that they’re posting to their own blog. The second instance involves you actually going out and seeking permission to co-create content with the other player.
What is not okay is violating a blog’s canon or a player’s boundaries.
So for example, let’s say that Bill posts something like, “Komala eat coconuts.” It’s not okay to have your character go into that post, reblog or reply to it, and say, “Well, actually, komala hate coconuts, and here is a story involving my character that illustrates how this komala they know dislikes coconuts.” This is basically taking control of what is and isn’t canon according to Bill’s player.
Likewise, while it’s probably okay to send in an ask to the effect of, “Komala eat coconuts; I know this because I have a story about komala” (although please ask first or otherwise check to make sure it’s not violating canon first!), if Bill says, “No, actually, they really don’t like coconuts,” then it’s canon in that universe that komala do not like coconuts. If you really want komala to like coconuts in this case, please make a post to your own blog about it. Do not reblog Bill’s answer.
Ultimately, what it comes down to is this: a player has the last say in what is and isn’t canon on their own askblog. Period. Underlined.
Tip #6: Yes, You CAN Roleplay with Yourself
It’s also worth it to note that not every blog has to start out directly RPing with another blog. Yes, you can write independently! Granted, yes, not everyone wants to, but my point is that if your first post can just be you posting your own thoughts on the way the Pokémon world works. That and not everyone interacts with other blogs all the time. In fact, this blog got its start just making shitposts in the guise of pokédex entries not because I really wanted to RP but instead because I was trying to make myself laugh by posting as Bill. And for the most part, it’s still that; because the canon is so different compared to fanon and because this is a sideblog, I don’t really send Bill or Lanette out to interact with other people unless someone tags this blog in something.
That isn’t to say I’m not open to it or that everyone has to be like me; it’s more saying that it’s okay if all you do at first is construct a story for yourself on your own blog. If your character and the world they live in is interesting to the rest of the fandom, people absolutely will stop by because people either love hearing about their favorite pokémon, or they love hearing about how this one scenario they’ve thought up will play out in someone else’s world. So don’t sweat it if you find yourself talking to the void for a long period of time.
If anything, consider it freedom because in space, no one can hear you yeeting actual canon out the window.
Tip #7: Yeet That Canon
Final tip: The more you think about Pokémon canon the less it makes sense. It’s just ... it’s just like that. So yes, it’s okay to treat canon like some sort of all-you-can eat buffet where no one’s going to judge you for putting the hot fudge sundae toppings on a slice of pizza. Pick and choose whatever canon you want or disregard it all. Take your blog and run with it. Eat that pizza with hot fudge sundae toppings, you absolute animal.
And most of all, best of luck!}

this is the end!
and what a ride it has been.
this probably won’t come as a shock - you can tell that i haven’t been very active on here for a while now. a few years ago, i promised myself i would ride the supernatural train as long as it gave me inspiration, and unfortunately, that ride is at an end.
it’s hard to say goodbye to supernatural. sam and dean (and cas, and the show, and all of you) gave me a lot of joy in a time when i had very little. i will always, ALWAYS, love the winchesters, and i will always look back on this time that i spent here with pride.
i’m not leaving because “it sucks now :///” or because it’s trendy to jump ship, (you’ll notice i haven’t even watched a new episode in.... three-ish years lmao), because i think that the relative quality of a show means absolute dick compared to what you got out of it. things change! interests shift! and running this blog felt more like a chore than anything else.
i can’t overstate how much i have loved being a part of this fandom. i have met some of the strongest, kindest, most talented people through supernatural, and they (and you!) have helped me to grow, heal, and learn things about myself that i never even imagined. this fandom helped me rediscover all the things i used to love, taught me to love my creations and treat them with care, and introduced me to things i now know i can never live without.
there’s a couple of people i want to shout out in particular:
@awabubbles, your art and your fic are so fucking good, AND you’re the nicest person ever, how the hell are you such a triple threat
@kansaskissedlips, your fic and your endless enthusiasm and patience never EVER failed to put a smile on my face, even when i was at my worst
@semirahrose, your fics and metas and graphics and your whole presence inspire me to go further and think harder in everything i do
@holydarkhallelujah, i think i’ve followed you since the very beginning. that was such a long gd time ago. you’ve always been awesome
@sam-winchester-admiration-league, thank you for indulging me and my dumb ass niche obsessions! and for reminding us that there are far more sam fans in the blogosphere than we think!
@rex-daemoniorum (and i’m tagging your sideblog instead of your main lmao) you know... you know exactly how much i love talking with you
and @ everyone who has ever reblogged my posts, sent me a question, sent me a prompt, left a comment on my fic, or even just deigned to check out my blog and see what all the fuss was about... thank you SO much! it has been an absolute joy!!!
(and yes, i’m trying not to cry as i type this)
so what does this mean? for those of you that care, i’m not abandoning the ink in my pen. i’m also not going to delete this blog, or delete any of my stuff off of ao3. they represent a very key time in my life, and i’m proud of them, as clunky or amateur as they may be. there’s a handful of fics that i still want to write - and i’m still going to do the sw big bang - but they’ll be posted exclusively on my ao3.
as for incestmurderbros, i’m just going to let the queue run until it’s done.
tl;dr: i’m leaving, but i have a few things to finish that i’ll put up on ao3.
if you want to find me elsewhere on tumblr, you can find me at
@mmeviardot, my main (for period drama, personal updates, and roman history shitposting)
@dvme, for star wars
@guntwastelander, for achievement hunter/rt/video games
and @adelinapatti, for music history and other stuff
every time i’ve thought about making this Official, so to speak, for whatever reason, all i can think about is that scene from ferris bueller where matt broderick is singing “danke schoen” in the parade. so here! enjoy it for yourselves!
youtube
thank you! goodbye! don’t forget to ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING and to LOVE YOURSELF FIRST! i will always consider you as part of my family.
love, sasha (incestmurderbros, formerly samvvinchestre, and always a sam winchester stan, first and foremost)

THE ADMIN'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY: a SEBLAINE-RPH chapter by chapter guide on building and admining a roleplay group
Chapter One - Making a Blog
So you've decided that you want to open up a roleplay of your very own. My first piece of advice is as follows; don't panic. Remember that even before the moment of conception, you aren't alone. If at any point you ever feel unsure, or would like another opinion, there are a vast number of people out there that would love to help you out. You never have to panic, no matter what the problem. Personally, I am always open to giving advice, helping with the process of building your plot/character biographies/other writing, production of graphics of any kind, theme makeovers, and the request of any other help you may need. I'm not the only one out there either, there are plenty of other RPH and other help-based blogs out there too. Most other roleplayers don’t mind giving opinions either, so you can always ask your friends.
1.) We're going to start, in this guide, with making your blog.
Some people prefer putting their main pages on sideblogs, but there are things (like submitting promos and shoutouts*) that are made more difficult by that so others prefer main blogs. Take a moment to consider what you want in this instance. There are guides out there and people you can ask if you want to do a bit of research, but in my opinion the decision comes down to one question. If you're planning on making a bigger group, something long-lasting with big needs, then you probably want to make a main blog. If you're making something simpler, something less serious (but of course still has your interest and devotion), or something smaller (like a 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4) then you could be fine with a sideblog. The only reason I've personally ever used a sideblog for a main was so that I could always be available to questions sent there within seconds, even while I was roleplaying. I had made a small group that consisted of less than a handful of characters and once I had those few roles filled, there was no further need for the main other than for organization and event announcements, so it just worked better to have it right there, attached to my character blog. If it had been on its own main blog, I may have forgotten to log in and missed questions sent to it.
*If you choose to make a sideblog, then you can use your rps/writing/personal blog to ask for shoutouts/promos. Some blogs that post those don't accept shoutouts/promos from anything but the main though, so keep that in mind.
2.) Once you've chosen, the first thing you'll need is a url.
Remember that this doesn't have to be perfect just yet, because you can change it at any time, but if you have any ideas that you really like, it's smart to save the url immediately so that nobody else gets the same idea and snags it first. Before you forget, head into the settings for your blog and turn on your ask box, the anon feature, and your submit. There are new on-blog advertising features that you need to turn off now too. At the time that I'm writing this, there are two of them and they're listed together. There is now also a “non-chronological posts” feature that you’ll have to turn off too once it starts. Because Tumblr is finicky, it's a good idea to make your ad blog right now too, and you might as well throw up an ooc blog while you're at it. For those that have never made a roleplay before, these two blogs (ooc and ad) for your roleplay will be sideblogs. The ad blog is where you'll queue your ads so that you don't spam your main and therefore the dash. The ooc blog will be a private blog that you click the option to password protect so that your players have a little community to talk out of character with each other. This helps with plotting and keeping your players connected ooc.
In order to create a new sideblog, click the little person button (on the top right of your screen) and click +New, then write in your url and do the captcha. You'll want to make a post on your main and on your ad blog right now, so that Tumblr registers them as new blogs. You don't have to tag either post or put anything you'll actually keep in it, all you need to do is make a post because your blogs won't show up in the tags until two days after your first post. Sideblogs follow the same rule. Posting on them now allows you to hit the tags as soon as you’re ready to advertise.
3.) Now that you've got the basics set up, it's time to pick a theme.
You can ask around the RPH community, check the rp themes and rp theme tag, browse an RPH’s theme tag (here’s mine), or look through your favorite theme maker's blogs to find the perfect one for you (my original themes).
When choosing a theme, you want to consider your group and its needs. Do you want a lot of links on your main page or would you prefer just a few links and the use of a full navigation page? Do you want a lot of room on your sidebar for a long description or will a scrollbar/a smaller space do? Also remember that if you choose to use a page with popup windows, you'll want to have mobile links up for them too.
A lot of people like to go with fansite themes, which all have a top header and side column(s) for information that make your main page look professional and streamline. There's room for a lot of information and links on some of these too. You can find fansite themes with sidebar columns that are so long that they have to scroll with the posts, but there are those that remain stationary as well. Some of them have font or navigation links as the top header, with no image, which are good for those of you that don't want to have to make a bunch of graphics for the main.
Another go-to theme type for roleplay mains are container themes. One of the things that you have to remember with container themes is that you want people to be able to see your main page, so you want to use one that doesn't have a tiny container. I've seen themes that are so small that the posts are 150px-250px wide with a 150px height window of appearance, which forces people to use 6px font and gif icons that are 25px by 25px so that it "looks aesthetically pleasing," but that translates to "absolutely unreadable" for a good number of people. There are a lot of container themes out there, and a lot of them have really small spaces for posts. You can edit that yourself though, or ask for help from the theme maker or an RPH if your favorite theme comes with a tiny container.
4.) There is more to do once you've got a theme, now you need to customize it.
No matter what theme you use, or what type of theme, you can always edit the html to make it better suited for your needs. If you can't do it yourself, there are plenty of RPH blogs that would do it for you.
Before doing anything else, you should be sure that:
Your theme doesn't have any fonts that are below 12px. Some fonts are larger than others, but anything that you actually want people to be able to read cannot be smaller than 12px. It is relevant to mention that 16px is the standard for accessibility in font sizes, so your fonts should be closer to 16px than 12px, but any smaller than 12px is just cruel.
Your posts are 500px in width. On some themes, you can justify using as small as 400px on the post size, but no smaller. When the post size shrinks too much, it's harder to read and the font html tends to shrink too in order to compensate for the smaller space. When changing the post size, I always use cntrl+f to search for the originally used post size px, so that I can change all of the other applicable html locations (ask size, tag size, the entry div, photo set size, etc) as well.
You might have to change other things because of those two bullets. Containers might need to be edited, margins changed, etc. Those of you that want to change other aspects of their themes can do so now. Put everything on the main page where you want it. Consider this the first step in customization.
Then make your theme graphics. This is where you really start to see your roleplay becoming something specific and personalized for your plot. Use imagery that is relevant to your plot. Keep diversity in mind by choosing imagery that represents as many different types of people as possible, if you're using people in these graphics. Remember that you don't want your graphics to be too dark to see, but you also don't want them too bright to see-- and you definitely don't want to whitewash anyone. You may wish to use a PSD (<-link to psd tag) so that all of your graphics are edited the same and therefore look the same, just beware of those three problems. Almost any PSD can be edited and altered in the name of making them work properly. Again, there are RPHs that will gladly do this for you or give you advice, if you want the help.
Your theme colors should match your graphics, and can be taken directly from them if you want. I prefer to, it just makes it easier to ensure my graphics match my theme. It also helps to choose a lighter or darker variation of the color on the graphics that still matches, when you don’t want to use the exact same colors.
Tumblr media
When choosing colors for your main blog, make sure that everything is still accessible. You want to make sure everything matches and looks aesthetically pleasing, but aesthetic means nothing if you can't read your blog. For instance, if your background is dark, the font you put on top of it should be light. If your background is light, the font you put on top of it should be dark. If you have a bright pink background and a bright yellow font, it is very likely that it will be completely impossible for anyone to read. Accessibility is not just important for those that have a difficult time seeing, but for you as well; if people can't read your blog, they won't stay on it long enough to give your group a chance.
5.) Your theme basics are done, now fill out your rpg information.
I'm going to do a whole new admin guide for this, so it won't be as detailed as it could be. I will link that guide as soon as I finish it.
Know your rpg and what you need on your page. Different groups require differen't information. For instance, if you're a supernatural group, you may want to at least link to information on all of the different species involved in your group. If you're not running a supernatural group, that's obviously not necessary.
As far as the basics go:
You'll need a sidebar description, something catchy that draws people in and makes them want to read more. Make sure it gives a clear reading on what your rp is about.
You'll need clear navigation. Most groups have a navigation page, but you also want to make use of your navigation buttons. All themes have a different number of them, make use of them with the most important links for your group. Remember that if you have popups on your theme, you're going to want to have mobile links up for that material too.
You'll need a clear set of rules. Most of these are the same thing written over and over again, so really consider your group and what is important to you as an admin to make sure yours are as unique as possible. If you have any requirements, this is where to put them. Age restrictions, instructions for nsfw or mature content, activity limits, dash rules, and ooc stuff all goes here. The point of a rules page is that you want to be able to say, "you knew this was expected of you" if any problems arise. And you can add to this! If you start up your rp and someone does something you absolutely do not want to see in your rp again, feel free to make an amendment and add it to your rules.
You'll need to consider what other information you need on your blog as well. Some rpgs require applications, others are appless. Some need to have their plot explained further, others can cover it in the sidebar. Whatever your needs, make sure everything is clear, not too long-winded (people will tune out if they aren't engaged), linked clearly for ease of navigation, and double checked for proper spelling and grammar.
6.) So you think you’re done, now get a second opinion.
At this point, you can tell that your blog is done and ready for information to be put on it. It looks pretty, it has graphics on it, all of the information you want it on your blog, and you're certain that you can read it.
Double check that last statement. You can ask a friend or you can ask an rph, but now would be a good time to make sure that everything is accessible. You want to make sure that your theme is the right theme. You want to make sure that you've got a good font and font size, for both your page html and your graphics. You want to make sure that your information is clear and concise as well as attention-grabbing.  It's really easy to miss out on stuff, and we all have different screen sizes, so it's really important to get a second opinion.
I do theme reviews and opinions on rpgs as a whole, but you can go to almost any rph for the same service or simply ask your friends for their opinions.
