With s4 Harringrove, the group all finds out in different ways.

Max finds out first, between s2 + 3 when Billy + her become closer and she finds out that Billy + Steve used to date. She finds out they're dating again when she almost walks in on them, it all cool tho. El finds out next kinda due to Max and also kinda due to the fact that Steve + Billy can't keep it in their pants but- She just sees them being all cute with each other and looks over to Max and is like "that's allowed?" And Max is like "yeah." So El asks if they could act like that and Max short circuts.

Then in s3, Robin finds out during that bathroom scene. When Steve says that he's found someone better he goes on this huge rant about this girl whose super strong and has blonde curls and omg he has such pretty hair and Robin's like "he!?" But it's okay cuz they're both gay... duh.

The way that Joyce, Will, and Johnathan find out is after they move to California w/ El. El knows not to tell people about Billy and Steve, but Max had said that bad people would after them. And her family were not bad people. So while they're walking about their new home El sees these two dudes holding hands and being a little close with each other. El points them out and says "oh yeah, Steve and Billy do that" and Joyce, Johnathan, and (espically) Will short circut. Only for El to respond with "what? Me and Max have done that too."

Nancy finds out in s4 when she's patching up Steve. He's hurt and doesn't really know what he's saying but he makes a joke like "Billy would throw a fit if he found out you were this close to me." Nancy's confused because why would Billy throw a fit, that doesn't make a sense, and then she starts putting everything together. Steve's been by Billy's side since this whole thing started. When she wanted to bring Steve to the library Billy reminded Steve that he was the babysitter, when she asked Steve to join them to visit Victor Creel he said he couldn't leave Billy with the kids, when Billy snapped at her like 20 minutes ago because he either went with Steve or neither of them went.

"Oh." She says quietly and Steve responds the same. Steve kinda starts panicking because he just realized what he said and he understand that both her parents voted for Regan and jesus christ if that wasn't an indicator of homophobia then- but Nancy calms him down, saying that she doesn't care as long as he's happy. "And Billy Hargrove makes you happy?" She asks, like a joke but Steve responsed with a slightly teary and awkward smile.

"Yeah, he makes me really happy." He says and Nancy's okay with that. She might've gotten some weird butterflies after hanging out with Steve after so long, but she had a boyfriend and so did he.

Dustin, Lucas, Erica, and Eddie all find out at the same time. Steve's dropping off Billy, Max, Lucas, and Erica at the Creel house when Steve stops them really quickly to grab Billy by the collar and kisses him in front of everyone. It's kinda of like a goodbye because neither of them really know if this is going to work out. Lucas and Erica are in a silent state of shock because they aren't allowed to speak for this plan to work so Max just quietly tells them that if they aren't okay with it they can't walk off. Erica almost walks off but Lucas drags her back because "wtf Erica". Nancy and Robin think the interaction are super cute and find out the other know about and they turn into supportive moms like "omg that's so cute- they're so cute- that's so romantic omg." While Dustin and Eddie are in the background like "WHAT THE FUCK". Once the doors close Dustin just kinda screams and Steve kinda winces because he knew this was coming, what he didn't expect to come was Nancy to turn into the biggest ally ever (or maye she's projecting....?) But Nancy turns around and starts berating the boys like "There's is nothing wrong with what those two boys are doing, they are in love and love should not be judge no matter who it is shared by!" Robin and staring in awe because like... yo? Nancy then threatens them if they say anything and Dustin's like "I'm cool that he's gay and all but... Billy Hargrove?"

"Holy shit." Steve cusses and sits down the driver seat while everyone agrees that Steve dating Billy Hargrove came out of the left field a little.

"If anything, I'm surprised Hargrove is gay." Is what Eddie says, and everyone agrees.

So when everyone sees Steve hanging out by Billy's hospital bed no one bats a eye because they all know. And Dustin comes in one day to ask Steve why he never told him. Steve explains that it's not because he didn't trust Dustin, it's just difficult because what if they start acting like themselves in front of the party and slip up in public? Dustin then goes on to ask a bunch of questions about their relationship and Steve's more than happy to answer because he loves Billy so much.

( Basically an addition to this post, but doesn't have any order to either story. But I thought this was cute so -- )

Goten knew it was going to be hard. He just didn't know it was going to be this hard. His anxiety probably stemmed from the fact that his mother was likely to react the worst. It wasn't that she hated gays in particular -- but she was stir crazy with baby fever, which worsened when Pan was born. And she'd been so set on Goten marrying a good girl after he went to college and got a good job and had kids. Coming out that he was gay probably put a huge damper in her plans, and she would probably react the worst out of everyone. So he knew he should probably start someplace easy; and with someone that wouldn't spill the beans to his mom before he was ready. While his father probably wouldn't even know what gay meant, he'd probably still be happy for him. But keeping his mouth shut? Not so good at keeping secrets, his father was, though Goten knew he meant well.

So his second dad Piccolo seemed to be the safest bet. He was usually pretty easy to find when he wasn't helping mom run errands or watching after Pan for Goten and Videl while they were busy. Meditating near the waterfall was Goten's first guess -- and thankfully, he was right. Rather than levitating above the water, Piccolo had decided to sit on the grass near the river with his back to the forest that otherwise engulfed the waterway from view unless you knew where to look -- or if you could fly.

Goten touched down noiselessly behind the Namekian, though he knew Piccolo knew he was there. It wasn't like he was trying to hide his Ki or anything. Yet he didn't say anything to him, even as Goten slowly approached and sat down next to him. The sounds of nature and animals reverberated around them momentarily in their silent sitting. Finally, Goten shifted slightly as he stared at the water, finally causing Piccolo's head to tilt towards him as he opened his eyes.

"Did you need something?" he asked -- though it didn't sound malicious, no matter how grumpily the Namekian spoke.

"No - I mean, yeah -" Goten sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Do - you have a minute to talk?"

Piccolo stared. Right. He always had a minute.

Goten took in a deep breath, hands on his knees, before finally saying, "I'm gay."

Again, Piccolo stared. The only change seemed to be that his brow furrowed in -- confusion? Goten waited for a long moment, not making eye contact as his nerves wracked around inside of him. It took another moment for Piccolo to speak up.

"With this gay being…….?"

Goten couldn't help the curt laugh that escaped his lips, though whether it was because he thought Piccolo's question was truly funny or because of his nerves, it wasn't too sure."

"It's, well --," Goten wracked around his brain for the right way to explain it. "Oh! So, you know how mom and dad are together, and so are Gohan and Videl?"

"..... Yeah?"

"Well, they're with each other because they're straight," Goten tried to explain, "which means they prefer their partners to be the opposite gender they are. So dad and Gohan are with mom and Videl because dad and Gohan are guys that only like girls, and mom and Videl are girls that only like guys."

"...... Right."

"And that's being called straight. But I don't like girls like they do," Goten said. "I like, uhm, I like guys like dad likes mom. Like, I want what dad has with mom but with a guy instead of a girl. So that means I'm gay and not straight because that's what we call a guy only liking other guys like that. Does that make sense?"

Piccolo stared for another moment, before nodding and straightening himself and trying to return to his meditating. Goten seemed to relax then, turning his attention back to the river --

"So does this mean you and Trunks will start that courting ritual Gohan and Videl did?"

Goten fell over in shock and embarrassment at Piccolo's statement as he stared at him wide eyed.

"E-excuse me?!" Goten asked. Piccolo opened one eye to look at Goten but otherwise did not move.

"Well, the way you put it," Piccolo explained, "makes it seem like you two are into each other like Gohan is into Videl. So this means you'll start that courting ritual they did before marriage?"

Goten sputtered, face going red instantly. Piccolo raised his brow and made to question him further -- before Goten quickly got to his feet, stuttering something about having planned a lunch with Grandpa Ox King before taking flight. Piccolo sat there for a long moment, mulling over what he'd just witnessed.

Then the Namekian shrugged and returned to meditating. No doubt he'd learn of the outcome sooner rather than later. He'd just probably give them more grief when training, but that was always the fun part.

WOW FAIRY TAIL. seeing them brought back sooooo many memories of middle school me hgehasf ANYWAY what do you think about the Strauss siblings??

The most siblings of all time my god!!!! I love them so much can do no wrong my three baby children!!

I try not to be too biased but my god. Elfman is everything one could ever want in a character. He sets the standard for Fairy Tail guys. He's big. He's Dumb. He's full of love. The perfect himbo of a guy.

Baby Elfman specifically is my everything he is just a Littol Guy I am pinching his cheeks and pulling them till he cries he's so cute in him little bow tie baby smile absolute perfect child hold him gently and brush his hair.

Elfman to me is Bi with a preference to men. There's a filler episode where Juvia is asking everyone what they want most as a gift no matter what and I know his whole bit is Manly but the fact that his answer with minimal hesitation is "A man" is so not Straight. But also his entire thing with Evergreen actually matters to me so much you do not understand.

Headcanon that Elfman is positively terrified of his own strength, he doesn't like being big and buff as much as he acts like he does. He likes feeling like he could protect people, sure, but in his mind he's just as likely to hurt them as well. When he gets older and his life calms down as the need to take jobs to pay rent lessens I think he'd eventually stop working out and fall comfortably into a pudgier shape, more like he was when he was little. Dad bod Elfman. Bear Elfman. Consider it.

Mirajane is probably, objectively, the best character in this show, Hands down. She's the only female character treated with any respect in a fight, she is smart, she is sweet, she is cute, she can kick your ass, she's very easily the second strongest wizard in the guild tailing Gildarts by only the littlest bit. She's held back by the trauma of loosing half her family not once but twice, she healed, and still chooses not to fight as she just lost the taste for it.

She's one of few characters who uses her head, she thinks, she holds the guild braincell and my god has she had to bear it for so long. The wiki says she's 19 and I fucking disagree. This is THE woman of all time. She uses her power as The Only One Who Thinks to mess with people and my god she's so fucking funny I'm sorry but this woman's gags are hysterical and when everyone else is getting into bullshit and she just plays into it and encourages them I genuinely laugh every time.

To me she has a lot of Aro vibes, happy with friends and family. If she were to get into a romantic relationship I think it'd be with another woman, I just can't see her with a guy?? She was born to live the Aunt life though, so when Elfman finally settles down and adopts the dad bod she is going to be all over his kids all the time.

Lisanna I have a bit of a harder time with. I wasn't really expecting to ever really know her, ya know? She was dead, it was a big deal, a big stain in the backstory of everyone in the Guild at the time. I thought she'd be someone who's death rung across the rest of the narrative, not a sort of love interest to get between Natsu and Lucy (which she doesn't really do either?)

She doesn't have a lot of plot relevance. Where I am right now she has yet to take a fight on her own, and as far as I can remember all the fights she has been in she's lost. Everyone counts her out really fast, keeps her out of harms way, kinda... treats her like a baby. And then outside of fights she doesn't do much either? I have a hard time finding her in character shots around the guild or placing her in any casual situations. So not only is she no longer the trauma the Guild bears, she's also still not really present despite being alive.

I like her, trust me! I think she's cute, the way Laxus reacted to her on Tenro island is positively adorable and makes me laugh every time, I like Elfman having another sister to bully him around in my stead, I'm glad Mira had the chance to heal she always needed and the sister she loved back.

I just think, personally, she was better as a point in history the characters grieved than as a character rarely used.

Also she's Straight and Transgender I make the rules this is my house.

He's my favorite kiddo and as I'm sure you've seen through all my long ass f.f13 s/I writings, he has the most lore too! He's my little star <3

💬: what was your child's first word? was it a nickname for you or your f/o or something entirely different?

Rowan's first word was, unsurprisingly, "mama"

Rowan's father was never in the equation. His mom raised him by herself, which is why they're so close. He's an adult (plus 500 years) by the time he meets his father and doesn't feel very connected to him. His mom was the person in his life that was always there and he adores her with all he is.

(Then again, even when he does meet his father after his father comes back to life, it takes him a LONG time to actually refer to him as Dad. He just calls him by name. This man was never around and his mom didn't speak of him too often, so why should he even call him dad, even if they do look so similar?)

So Rowan's first word was him calling out to his mom, the person he values most in his life. Ash had Rowan while in a state of grieving. Her fiancé was dead, so was her best friend, her home planet was gone, everything she knew was gone, and she was all alone. As shown by her journal entries by that time, she wasn't really in a great mental state. I don't think it would be an understatement to say that Rowan is the very reason why she's alive.

Ash had a lot of support during that time, but it wasn't easy. Still, she knew that this kid deserved a decent parent, so she tried her best, even if during that time she was just a shell of who she used to be. We only see her like this in the second novel (Snow comments that the only time he saw her smile was around Rowan).

But in the game? 20 year timeskip, babyyy! That's why Rowan is 19 and Ash is 47. Thank you for giving us a good milf, f.inal f.antasy! The Ash as we know her in-game is kind and sweet, responsible and patient. She kind of becomes everybody's mom.

This goes especially for Noel! A lonely kid who Rowan hates initially. Rowan may or not catch feelings for Noel eventually, but Ash is the mom Noel never had. She is everyone's mom now!

🧁: what's your child's favorite thing in the world? what's their least favorite thing?

As for favorite, it's probably his mom- They're just so close! But if we're talking actual objects, probably oranges or his sword. This kid really likes eating oranges for some reason. I don't like him but he loves them! At least they're good for him? Little Rowan would always ask Mr. Snow to peel his oranges for him and even when Rowan is all grown up and fighting in Yusnaan, Snow still teases and asks if he needs help.

Rowan's sword is very special to him. He grew up around Cocoon soldiers (and his mom, who despise not being a soldier, was very important in the military) so a lot of what he uses to fight is similar to what we see in the first game. His main blade is a modified and simple version of Lightning's first sword. It's pretty much the same thing, but there's no gun aspect to it.

Rowan can shoot fireballs out of his hands, so he thought having a gun would be a little bit unnecessary. Still, his sword reminds him of the people around him and he loves it. He's a very skilled fighter (I mean, of course he is, he grew up surrounded by wild monsters) and his sword has been his best friend through it all!

(When he was younger, the soldiers gave him a gun so he could be like him, but Rowan rejected it, saying that he wanted a sword! Looks like he really is like his dad, huh? Still, Ash freaks out the moment she sees her little kid with a giant weapon! The others get a scolding that day.)

(But also, considering who Ash is and how she's a pretty important person in the lore, she kinda.. you know... invented and wrote most modern-day magic theory? So having who might just be the best mage of their time as a mom means Rowan is really good. A lot of it is just him having inherited her natural affinity for magic, but she also taught him a lot. Ash chuckles and reassures Rowan that it's a long process and it took her weeks to even generate a spark!

... Rowan has fire in his hand in a matter of minutes as a mere child. Fun times.)

Rowan loves his family and the people around him. He fights for them!

... and because it's fun.

As for things he hates, he hates plenty of things! Just like both his mom AND his dad :D!

The obvious answer here would be Noel. He cannot stand Noel. From the moment they meet, they are at odds. They're about the same age, two sword boys, Rowan thinks Noel is an annoying stuck-up hero type (at least Snow is actually cool about it!) and Noel thinks Rowan is a pathetic mama's boy!

However, after a LOT of arguing, they become close friends. Rowan is pretty important in Noel's quest in 13-3. Thing is... Rowan caught feelings along the way. There's AUs where Noel feels the same, AUs where they don't. When they do get together, though, it's at the end of the last game. Making out in a cathedral as the world is literally ending... Pretty romantic, huh?

Rowan also has a bit of a hatred for gods. His mom is Ash, what did you expect? The 13 games are about saying fuck you! to higher power anyway, but his mom is one of the greatest researchers around. Rowan is, at his core, a kid of science. He sees what the gods are doing in 13-3 and he's just so, so upset about it. He thinks it's messed up and honestly hates the state of the world.

He also jokes and says that a plus side of time not moving anymore is that he doesn't have to worry about trimming his bangs-

His journals aren't quite as long and flowery as his mom's (he swears like the soldiers he was raised around, and he also has his mom for a mom, so... yeah.) But I think Rowan is most interesting in the third game since it really solidifies his character arc and it gives him reasons to fight. We see him having fun, but we also see him kicking ass and deciding to take matters into his own hands and spend the last days on this earth the way he wants them to be.

Though he is pretty shaken up at first.

(A line that Ash repeats time and time again throughout the games is "i hate it when I don't know."

She feels like she has to know everything. That's why she became a researcher in the first place. Her thirst for knowledge is so strong, and Rowan says that iconic line too.)

But most of all, Rowan just hates people who try to take his freedom away. He grew up around open fields, luscious grass, wild animals, huge cliffs... He likes feeling like he can do whatever he wants and can have fun doing it. His dreamworld is extremely simple.

(You'll notice that his dad is there. He doesn't care about his father, but he knows that his mom still loves him. Rowan puts her happiness above his own)

Rowan just wants to have fun with his friends and he wants to beat up whoever tries to stop him. It's as simple as that.

He has his father's silver hair and Ash's big, brown eyes. The glasses are purely a fashion choice and he doesn't wear them much in the actual game. His side profile resembles his father a lot and he has his strong and sharp features, but he has Ash's smile. Ash has commented that she once tried to count his freckles, but got lost since there were so many.

Pretty cute kid if I do say so myself! (I'm very biased you see)

I got to go to our local pride festival today but now I’m feeling super dysphoric
