It starts, as most things do with Yoongi, after a night out.

He’d gone out with Hoseok. Wanted to blow off some steam after a long week for both of them. You’d sent him off with a kiss, a text me if you need a ride that was met with an affectionate roll of his eyes, and finally a have fun, love you that he returned with a smile and a kiss to your forehead.

Now, it’s nearing two a.m., and you’re in bed with a facemask on, staring down at your phone.

Yoongi had sent you a picture. It’s blurry and unfocused, clearly taken on a whim, but those are undoubtedly Hoseok’s hands. You’d know those slender fingers anywhere, but it’s the nail art that tips you off. Each finger is painted black except for his pinkies, which are decorated with smiley face stickers, sealed with an extra-shiny clear coat. Beneath the photo, two texts from your boyfriend:

You snort, typing out a quick reply.

No, it’s not hard Why, you want me to do your nails?

You expect him to say no. Not because of some toxic masculinity bullshit, he just does too much with his hands. Chip a nail playing guitar? The acetone would be out immediately. Smudge the polish? His pout would be overwhelming.

So you’re surprised, then, when he says yes; when he sends you a few pictures he plucked off of Pinterest, accompanied only with a half-dozen question marks.

Yeah, I can do that, you send him.

Even more surprising:

You shouldn’t be surprised by the numbers, considering Yoongi has been hyping it up for weeks.

Kept posting teasers. Had a countdown timer on screen during his usual streams. Acted all coy and shy whenever his chat would ask him about it. Could barely swallow his smile when they demanded to know if you were finally making an appearance. Couldn’t hide the way his cheeks grew pink at all, and that tiny crumb was enough to send the internet into a frenzy.

So, no, you shouldn’t be surprised, but the view count on Yoongi’s screen seems too big to be real.

Yoongi is as shocked as you, but there’s pride simmering beneath the surface. Not once has he turned down an opportunity to show you off. Refuses to keep you hidden despite how private he insists on being otherwise. Doesn’t want you to feel like you’re a secret; wants everyone to know how much he adores you.

You’re certainly feeling adored now. “Does that say thirty thousand?”

“Sure does. Think you can perform under that kind of pressure?”

You snort. Pinch playfully at his side. Yoongi squeals, twists away from you, but he’s more serious when he comes back around. Reaches for you as he settles, hands on your hips, thumb brushing the warm skin beneath your sweatshirt. “Thanks for doing this with me,” he says, and you know Yoongi means it the same way you say I love you.

All you can do is smile, suddenly overwhelmed by how fond you are of him. How it feels like your heart grows three sizes every time he flashes you one of those gummy smiles of his own.

“Of course,” you say, because there’s only—“Five minutes. You ready?”

He pulls a face. Asks you to sit for a quick light test. Spends a few seconds fussing over it even though you think it looks fine. Makes sure all your supplies are organized and at the ready—you decided to let Yoongi’s stream decide all the colors and stickers, so there’s stuff everywhere, and you can see how stressed he is.

So you reach out, smooth over the furrow between his brows. “Relax, baby.”

He huffs. “I’m trying, it’s just—”

“You’ve done this a million times.”

“Yeah, by myself. Not with you. Not in front of… Jesus, there’s even more of them now.”

You roll your lips to hide the smile that’s creeping up. “C’mere,” you say, sliding your fingers through his belt loops. “Everything is going to be fine, okay? This is just for fun. Deep breaths.”

Yoongi listens. Closes his eyes, sucks in a breath. Holds it for a few seconds before he exhales, and it probably doesn’t do anything to dampen the buzz, but at least he looks glued back together. “I know.” Another inhale, another slow exhale. “I just want this to go well.”

“It will.”

He looks like he wants to argue. Push back on it. But Yoongi knows you just like you know him, and he trusts you implicitly. He wants to argue. Instead, he says, “Okay,” presses a soft kiss to your lips, and that’s the end of that.

“What color did they decide on?”

Admittedly, you might’ve gone overboard. Surely you didn’t need to bring over every eyeshadow palette you own, but you wanted options, and now those options are coming back to bite you in the rear. There are too many.

Yoongi huffs. “I don’t know. I can’t scroll through the chat because you made me put my hands in this ridiculous thing.”

“It’s a UV lamp. You don’t want your nails to chip, do you? After I just spent all that time and effort—”

“Okay, okay,” Yoongi relents, and a familiar blush creeps up his neck. Over his shoulder, you can see his chat explode with messages. “You see what I have to put up with?” he asks them.

“Yeah, it’s awful,” you agree, leaning in closer to the monitor. “Hi, guys. What color eye makeup should we do?” The chat erupts again. Messages come in faster than you can keep up with. “Wow, there are a lot of you. Of course I’m going to do eyeliner. Oh—I’m seeing a lot of requests for purple. That okay with you, babe?”

“Sure. Give the people what they want.”

With a smile, you pat his cheek with a gentle hand, cooing at him. “So accommodating. Isn’t he the best, chat?” Yoongi rolls his eyes, blush deepening. You think he’d hide behind his hands if they weren’t still drying. “Okay, nails are all done. Want to show them how they turned out?”

Like most things with Yoongi are, it’s easy.

He sits patiently while you prime his skin, commenting on how nice it is, and he makes small talk with his chat. Tells them how the two of you met, how disastrous your first date had been, how Yoongi thought he’d blown it for good. He’s told all of these stories before, but it still warms your heart to hear them again—to hear the way he speaks each word with such care, such affection.

“Show them how beautiful you look with your eye makeup done.”

He rolls his eyes, but does as you request anyway. Once again, the chat explodes, and the amount of emotes whirring by nearly makes you go crosseyed. COUPLE GOALS!!!! stands out amongst the chaos, and you know Yoongi has read it because another slow, gummy smile takes over his face.

You do his foundation next even though he doesn’t need any. Even though the chat demands he drop his skincare routine and he admits he doesn’t have one. “It is so unfair that you have this skin and can barely remember to moisturize.” You pretend to boo him. “God truly has favorites.”

“Yeah, you,” Yoongi says, and it’s so quick, so automatic, that it catches you off guard. Has you spraying the setting spray before you can tell him to close his eyes. “Aish, what was that—”

“Sorry!”

“I’m blind,” he wails. “You’ve blinded me!”

“I did not—”

But you’re up and off anyway, disappearing into the bathroom for a wet washcloth. You can hear Yoongi’s raspy laughter from the hall, know he’s not grievously injured and is just playing it up for laughs, and you don’t mind. Loving Yoongi means seeing all of his parts, and you know he’s got a darkness in him just like everyone else, that sometimes he finds it hard to escape it, so you want him to be this carefree and joyous always. Want to hear that laughter all the time.

You’re hovering in the doorway when he says, “Do you think this is what they meant when they said love is blind?”

And you’re… struck. You can feel how much Yoongi loves you in everything he does; can hear it in every word he says whenever he speaks about you. He handpicks each one, wraps it in the care it deserves. Not because they’re fragile, but because he wants to, and that kind of love feels a little overwhelming. Has you blinking back tears.

You’re not going to cry on stream, so you take a second to get yourself together before you walk back in the room. Say, “Are you done being dramatic yet?” because it’s easier to joke, and Yoongi shoots you a smile that says he knows.

“Of course,” he answers. “Please continue. The chat is patiently waiting to see the final product.”

You make a show of looking over his shoulder again, at pretending to read all the comments. You press a kiss to his temple just because you’re there. “Oh, they are, are they?”

One catches your eye: is anyone else painfully aware of how single they are rn.

Being a mother was a massive responsiblity. You knew this, and you had greatly prepared yourself even during your first pregnancy, let alone your 4th child, however the sheer amount of stress was getting to you. 

Your younger sons were a little too energetic. It wasn’t a bad thing for them, being willing to go out and explore during your childhood, however for one adult who was taking care of 3 children and another one in her stomache practically by yourself, it was seriously taking the toll.

You had been worn down to your very bone, sobbing on the corner of your bed as you waited for your husband to come back home. It was already late into the night, having tucked your sons into bed hours before. Of course being a pro hero was extremely demanding, long hours wasn’t normally a problem, however you were around close to your due date and despite this your husband was home for literally 5 hours a day.

The door clicked open after twenty or so minutes, causing you to sit up and put the book down beside you on the table, standing up and slowly walking towards the shuffling noises by the living room.

“Katsuki?” you called out, leaning against the wall as you watched the lights flicker on, your husband sending you a tired smile as he loosened his tie. “Hey darling, what are you doing up so late?” he asked, picking up his bags and guiding you back towards the bedroom.

“I wanted to talk to you about something.” you answered, sitting back down as he began shrugging off his blazer.

“You could’ve waited until tomorrow morning.”

“You probably would’ve been gone by then.” you muttered under your breath.

He turned to raise an eyebrow at you. “What did you say?”

“Nothing.” you shook your head. He gave you a slight look before nodding for you to continue.

“It’s just that you’re never home and the kids are practically growing up without a father at this point.”

“I don’t understand, is the nanny don’t doing a good job? Do I need to fire them?” he scowled at the thought.

“No it’s not that. They don’t need all of these strangers taking care of them Katsuki, they need their dad.”

“I’m always here for them.” he replied, earning a defeated sigh from you.

“Here for them?” you asked, giving him a confused look. “How so? You’re away from home nearly 24/7, we haven’t had a meal together as a family in months Katsuki, it’s like you don’t even live here. The boys are always asking about you, and what am I meant to reply to that? Sorry sweetie you’re dad’s busy at work.”

“Well yeah-”

“No. Not ‘well yeah’ because they’re sick of hearing that. They might be young but they sure aren’t stupid enough to not even notice that you set foot in this house for like twenty seconds a day.”

“Darling-” He was cut off with the ringing of his phone, sending you a pleading look as you responded with a glare.

“Go on and take it, I’m going to bed.” you stated, turning away to walk to the bathroom as you heard him sigh and answer his call.

The arguement had been weighing on Bakugou’s conscious throughout the entire day, causing him to nearly trip over the pavement as he screamed at anyone who laughed at him.  

His friends and colleagues had quickly picked up on his easily irritable mood that day and they didn’t know how to help, instead pushing Bakugou to go home early and spend the rest of the day off.

He had arrived back at your apartment, a small smile at your surprise at him returning home so early. He had listened to you, granted it was more of his friends pushing him back home, but you had requested him to stop spending too much time at work and here was complying.

Maybe he would see you in an apron cooking or baking for the boys as they ran around in the living room or sat and watched a hero movie together on the couch. The ideas caused him to grin, a small pang in his heart as he realised how much time he had truely spent away from his family.

He had missed so many important moments in his son’s lives for what? An amazing reputation at his company? Sure his goal was still to be the number one hero, but it wasn’t as if that spot would suddenly run away from him. He was still relatively young, and such a title wouldn’t just be suddenly ripped out of hi reach, granted as he was already in the top five. However his sons were growing and his poor decisions can caused him to miss his boys’ childhoods, something he realised he incredibly regretted.

He listened out for your voice asking who was at the door, or the sounds of his sons laughing, yet the home is in a deathly silence, his footsteps echoing throughout the rooms as nothing else sounds.

“Darling?” he called out, his voice gruff and surprised, as he slowly made his way through the home. “Y/N?” he shouted, growing more impatient as he stormed down the small corridor.

“Y/-” his shouts completely stopped as he opened the bedroom door to you lying on the floor, arms bound behind your back and body limp. “Y-Y/N?” he called out, dropping to him knees and cradling your head as you remained unresponsive.

“Y/N.” he repeated over and over again, shaking your shoulder slightly before attempting cpr. “What about our sons?” he asked, of course recieving no reply. His heart quickened tenfold and he looked around the room for his sons, catching sight of them too tied up and unconscious on the floor.

“No no no no.” he shouted, feeling his heart wrench with sorrow as his voice cracked into sobs. “Wake up Y/N.” he screamed, tears streaming down his face as he spun around trying to find anything in the room to help.

He felt himself shaking, a force on his shoulder as his body uncontrollably moved.

“Katsuki!” you shouted, snapping him awake as he sat up gasping, looking around frantically before wrapping you tightly in a hug.

“What’s wrong?” you asked. “You haven’t had a nightmare in a good few years.”

“I... I thought I lost you, and our sons. I thought I lost all of you.”

“Well you haven’t.” you reassured him, stroking his back as he rested his head on the crook of your shoulder, his body still trembling. “We’re still here.”

He lifted up his head to look at you and you pulled his face in close, softly kissing him on the forehead.

“Get some sleep sweetie. We’re not leaving you I promise.”

He slowly nodded, still unsure, feeling that the sense of dread still remained. “I’ll call into work tomorrow and take a few weeks off.”

“A few weeks?” you questioned, unsure. “Was this about eariler, I’m sure we could work something out with your schedule.”

“No, I’m going to take some time to spend it with the people I love the most.” he stated.

You left a soft kiss on his nose before gently pushing him back, resting his head on the pillow. “Alright sweetie, we can worry about that in the morning alright?”

“Sleep well.” you smiled.

Dabi stood back, hands on his hips and sweat on his brow as he examined the finished crib he had put together. The black and white piece of furniture looked simple but it was a bitch to piece together. The colors of it contrasted with the abstract wall behind it, painted in three inter-crossing triangles of white and two different shades of grey, the white one full of black polka dots. Looking around Dabi was satisfied as his sons room was finally finished, all the furniture, decor, lights and toys in their assigned spots.

“Oh you’re done!”

The ex-villain turned around to see you leaning on the door frame smiling, one hand rubbing your pregnant belly. He smiled back and nodded, wiping his forehead with the back of his arm and wrapping his other around you as you walked over and stood next to him. He turned his head to kiss the tops of yours and you hummed.

“Yeah, fucking finally. It only took 2 days!”

“And it looks great! Thank you babe, I don’t know what I’d do without you,” you smiled and kissed your husbands chest as your arms wrapped around him.

“You’re such a kiss-ass you know that? What do you want?” He smirked and brushed your hair out of your face.

You giggled and bit your lip, knowing it was Dabi’s weakness. 

“Well the baby is gonna be here any day and I wanted to start packing our things for the hospital, the only problem is –“

“Your short pregnant ass can’t reach the bags.” 

Dabi finished your sentence and you nodded.

The man kissed your forehead one last time before you parted from each other. He told you to go ahead and gather things while he tossed out the crib boxes and other trash and he’d be there to help out. Smiling, he leaned down to let you kiss his cheek and you left the baby room. Dabi watched with loving eyes as you exited and he started to gather all his trash and bring it outside. Before going back inside Dabi sat on the front door steps and smoked a cigarette, knowing he’d only be able to suck down these cancer sticks until his son made his arrival.

As smoke left from his lips, Dabi thought about the past 9 months and how they were the most stressful yet most amazing months of his life. Before you announced your pregnancy Dabi was still part of the LOV, that’s how he met you, during an attack. You weren’t a villain and you weren’t a hero, you had a quirk but it wasn’t something fancy or anything you could defend yourself with. How he fell in love with you in the first place was beyond him, normally he’d deem someone like you weak but it was that first look you gave him, it only took that one look to make him want to have you instead of just leave you behind in the ruble.

Since then you turned his world upside down. Dabi wasn’t always happy with his villainous lifestyle but that’s all he knew and he figured that it was all he’d ever know. People looked at him in disgust or fear because of his disfigured appearance, which was the reaction he was going for, but you only looked at him with wonder and no fear. Soon that look turned to adoration and love. Even though you knew of his choices and his past mistakes, of his kill-streak and ideologies, you didn’t care. You knew Dabi would never hurt you or let any harm come to you, which was true, he’d engulf the entire world in blue fire all for you. It was different having someone yearn for him and show him affection, it took awhile for him to get used to actual love and not just lust. But once he crossed that threshold he was head over heels for it. He lived to hold you and keep you warm, to shower you with kisses and make you laugh.

His colleagues knew of your existence and Dabi threatened every single one of them if they so much as looked in your direction or even thought about coming between you and him. As time went on, the LOV could see a shift in their most useful member, Shigaraki always had his doubts about Dabi’s loyalty to the cause so when out of nowhere Dabi had took off without so much as a word, he didn’t bother tracking the patchwork villain down. He was out of his hair and not his problem anymore. The only one who knew of Dabi’s whereabouts was Kurogiri, he was the only one who knew about the seed growing inside of you as well. In fact the warping man helped Dabi out with finding a place and securing more than enough funds to last him and his new family a lifetime. Why the man helped him out, Dabi didn’t know, but he never questioned it and he was grateful.

Since then, you and Dabi had moved from the slums of Japan and to Australia of all places. It was off the wall and no one would think to look there, plus no one knew who Dabi was, giving him that clean slate. It was an adjustment for the both of you, but you quickly came to love your new home and knew it was the perfect place to raise your first child together. The two of you married, it was extremely private and only between the two of you. Dabi was hesitant at first, wanting to give you something more than just a courthouse ceremony, but you left your family behind years ago for reasons of your own and all you had now was Dabi and your future child, and that was all you needed.

Taking another drag of his cigarette Dabi grinned realizing he really had a damn good life and it was only going to get better in a few short days. He relived the last 9 months, your mood swings, disgusting cravings, your whining and disgust over yourself and how huge you were. Dabi thought you were still the most beautiful creature he had ever laid eyes on. Pregnancy definitely looked good on you, despite what you thought. Your skin was flawless, as always, but had this ethereal glow to it. Your eyes were so fucking bright and clear, Dabi could always see his own reflection in them. Then there was your adorable pregnant stomach, you said you were ginormous but you really weren’t, your proportions were perfect. Sometimes Dabi couldn’t resist his urges and would play or nuzzle your breasts as they grew bigger, making you whine and groan on days they hurt. Other times he’d relish in laying in bed with you, his hands wandering the vast expanse of your bare stomach and his ear pressed to it as he listened to the life inside of it.

He loved waking up before you, cuddling you close and resting his chin on your shoulder as he rubbed your belly. He loved how his patchwork skin looked against your flawless skin. Dabi would lay there making silent promises to you and his unborn child, vowing to be the most amazing father you could both ask for. He wouldn’t be like his old man, he’d love and cherish every moment, every messy, chaotic, stressful, funny, beautiful and wonderful moment. If his son had a quirk like his, he’d help him harness control over it and not let it cloud his mind. He wanted his son to be the very little bit of good he had left within himself. He just wanted the entire world for his son, and for you. Dabi had no doubts or fears about whether he could do this, fatherhood, he was very confident that if there was something he didn’t know how to do then he’d figure it out, with you by his side he could do anything.

Dabi finished his cigarette, smashing it into the concrete beneath him and walking to the dumpster to throw it away, along with the almost finished pack he had in his pocket. He made his way back inside, washed his hands until they no longer reeked of menthol and nicotine, brushing his teeth after before going to gather the bags your needed. Once he finally found you in the bedroom, you had the baby bag out already and were stuffing it with the essentials. Dabi smiled and walked over, placing your bag on the bed.

“Alright angel, what do I need to get?”

After an hour of bickering and giggling, all your hospital bags were packed. Dabi even installed the car-seat and put all the bags in the vehicle so they’d be ready to go and not forgotten had you gone into labor so suddenly. You sighed and fell back on the bed, your arms stretched out as you sunk into the mattress. You were totally exhausted and not really in a great mood. All day long you had these intense cramps, they weren’t unbearable just uncomfortable. They’d come and go in waves, making your face twitch as your jaw clenched in reaction. You sat up and rubbed your belly thinking to yourself. 

“There’s no way its contractions right? Maybe it’s just me being hungry, I haven’t eaten all day long.”

Dabi walked back into the room and saw you in the middle of thinking. He smirked and walked over, squatting down before you and placing a hand on your knee. “Don’t think too hard, you might hurt yourself!”

You rolled your eyes and miserably kicked at him, causing him to laugh and squeeze your knee. 

“How about you get a shower, you look beat to hell. I’ll go get dinner started.”

You smiled and ran a hand through your husbands spiky black locks, his turquoise eyes glimmering at you. 

“I think I’ll do just that, thank you Dabi, for everything.”

“Don’t sweat it angel, now come on, I’ll help you out,” he replied.

Standing to his feet, Dabi took your hand and helped you stand up, his other palm cupped your chin, making you look up at him. His hand released yours and fell to your stomach rubbing it gently as he placed a sweet kiss on your lips. You smiled at him when he pulled away, reaching out and touching his patchwork cheek.

“I love you Da – ah!” 

You groaned and screwed your eyes shut as you clutched your stomach.

Dabi’s eyes widened as he rested a palm on your shoulder. You inhaled sharply and bared your teeth, trying to breathe deeply as a sharp pain crashed over your lower abdomen.

“(Y/N) you okay, what’s wrong?” He asked, worry lacing his words.

“It’s just a cramp Dabi, I’m fi – ineeeee,” you dragged out as your knees suddenly buckled.

Dabi caught you before you could collapse, panting in his arms and gripping his shirt with desperation. “That doesn’t seem like ‘just a cramp’ (Y/N). Has this been happening all day?”

“…sort of but it’s noth –“

“Bullshit, you’re having fucking contractions. Why didn’t you tell me some – never-mind, I’m getting your shoes and we’re leaving,” Dabi hissed as he sat you on the bed and went to grab your shoes from the living room.

When he came back you were holding your stomach and your breathing was becoming labored as you barred your teeth. Dabi shook his head and knelt before you, holding his hand out for your foot. You grit your teeth and shook your head.

“NOW (Y/N)!”

“I can’t! I - I can’t do this, what if ... what if I’m a t-terrible mom!”

Dabi stared at you, his turquoise eyes full of shock as you cried out with so much fear that your voice cracked, tears starting to stream down your face. He smirked and chuckled, making you look at him confused as to what was so fucking funny at the moment. He stood to his feet, leaning over to be eye level with you as he cupped your face in his hands.

“First off, it’s a little too late to back out now, ready or not this baby is coming!”

“You fucking did this to me,” you growled out as Dabi wiped your tears with the pads of his thumbs.

“That I did, but you didn’t exactly stop me either. If I can recall your words were, ‘oh Dabi, please, please fill me up, cu – ’ oww!” 

He smirked as you shut him up with a fierce punch to the arm, making him laugh and coaxing a small pained smile from you.

The lean man kissed your cheeks, “You can do this angel, you’re so fucking strong and so amazing, this is going to be nothing for you! I’ll be right there by your side! You’re going to be a fucking fantastic mom, no doubt about it and this kid is going to love you! We’re going to make mistakes and mess up, but it’s a part of parenthood. No matter what, we’ll have each other and we’re gonna be kickass parents together! Got it?”

You gave a bigger smile, squeezing you eyes shut as another contraction rippled through your body. “I – ngh, I got it Dabs. Thank you!”

Your husband smiled and knelt back down, putting your shoes on your feet before he stood up and reached for your hands, asking if you were ready to go and have your baby.

“Let’s get it!”

Dabi rushed you to the hospital, thankfully you were already pre-admitted so you were wheeled to a delivery room in no time. After dressing down and getting into your hospital gown Dabi helped you into bed. The nurses took all your vitals and counted the closeness of your contractions. The delivery doctor had to break your water manually and from there it was only a matter of a few short minutes! You had no time for an epidural, to which Dabi was worried about, he didn’t want you to be in pain at all. You smiled, sweat starting to coat your skin and gave him a thumbs up.

“Hey what did you just tell me before we got here?”

Dabi smiled and kissed your forehead, taking your hand and letting you grip the life out of it as the doctor prepared to deliver your baby that wasn’t waiting another second.

“You’re so fucking strong and so amazing!”

In what felt like the blink of an eye, a healthy baby boy was placed into Dabi’s arms. He stared at the tiny human, not exactly smiling but also not frowning, its like he didn’t know what face to make. For once he was just so speechless and amazed. Your son had a head full of dark red hair, the same as Dabi’s natural color. Of course he also had those same sparkling turquoise eyes. Almost every feature on the newborn matched that of his father, an exact carbon copy. Dabi’s long and slender fingers caressed the baby’s soft cheek, his un-charred, flawless cheek. Every inch of him was perfect.

Your husband was so lost in those wondrous eyes that stared back at him and that soft coo that came from those tiny lips. Dabi chuckled as his son gripped his finger in his small hand. An overwhelming sense of protection washed over him at the touch, as if it were the spark that sent him into ‘dad mode’. Now, Dabi had two people in his life that he’d burn down the world for. Two very beautiful and important people that he’d love with every ounce of his soul, every beat in his heart and every breath in his body.

Dabi looked from his son and to you, watching him with a tired smile. He walked to you, handing the baby over. You took your son and smiled, cooing with him quietly as you poked his perfect nose. The baby smiled and nuzzled his body deeper into his blanket as if he were shy. He may look like Dabi but he had your smile and apparently your bashfulness. You moved over in the bed, making room for your husband and he gently crawled onto it and next to you, wrapping an arm around you as his long legs nearly hung off the end of the bed.

“Our Asahi, he’s so perfect huh?”

Dabi nodded and kissed your head, his fingertips trailing down your jaw to cup your chin, making you look at him. “Thank you, again.”

You quirked a brow and smiled, “You’re welcome, but what did I do?”

“First you gave me you, and now him. I could never thank you enough for any of this.”

You chuckled and leaned in closer tilting your head and kissing the happy man. His hand caressed your cheek as he kissed back tenderly, enveloping your lip between his and showing it the utmost love and care. Thanking you one of the only other ways he knew how. 

A small cry came from Asahi as he squirmed in your arms, making you and Dabi break your kiss and look. Immediately Asahi smiled again as he gained your attention, making you both laugh.

Accident | Billy Hargrove

Authors Note: I can’t get enough of him omggg. Also, this was supposed to be a little blurb, but it got kinda long, so have it as a oneshot instead.

Summary: you’re caught in the crossfire against the Mind Flayer and the kids, and Billy is by your side when it gets you.

You were never meant to be there, never meant to be part of it. But you’d been conned into staying late to close Scoops Ahoy and you’d been in that stupid sailor’s outfit all goddamn day.

After you closed, you figured you’d use a little while of the silence to read a little bit more of your book before you returned home to your mom and sister. But one chapter turned into six and you fell asleep in one of the booths.

You don’t remember the time, didn’t bother to check it. But the doors are all locked and you’re dead certain you’re the only one in the goddamn mall.

That is, until a blinding scream and a monster-like screech is heard and it echoes off the walls. Your blood runs cold and you race for the exit of the parlour.

You’re not sure why you decided to run toward the potential danger, but you’d never be able to live with the guilt of hearing something and not helping someone.

It all happened so fast, one minute you were racing down the still escalators and the next, you’re frozen, watching Billy struggle against a monster, a fucking monster.

“Billy!” You scream out to him, eyes wide and frantic and before you have the chance to say or do anything else, it moves, it releases its hold on Billy and comes for you.

A searing pain shoots through your entire body, the pain too much to bear and everything else is white noise. Everything but the monsters piercing screech and Billy crying out your name.

Another pain shoots through your body as an explosion sounds through the mall. Blood pools and drowns your sailor’s outfit as your weak body slumps to the ground with a thud.

You’re sobbing, body convulsing as your hand instinctively reaches for your torso. Blood coats your trembling fingers and tears gloss over your eyes.

“Y/N? Y/N! Hey, it’s okay, baby. You’re okay,” a distant voice calls and shaggy blond hair is all you can make out as you blink away the tears.

“Billy,” you choke.

He shushes you, his own tears staining his cheeks and he’s all battered and bruised; busted lip and a black eye, a gash on his cheekbone and one on his forehead.

You reach for him, and he kisses your palm, holding your hands in his and guiding them to your stomach. Billy tears off his shirt and presses it on your stomach, holding your hands down on it.

“Just keep pressure on it. You're gonna be okay, baby,” he sniffles, his frantic movements blurred by your tears and before you know it, he’s dragging you away someplace secluded when everything goes black.

You wake to a dull ache in your stomach, a blinding headache, and soft beeping from the machine you’re linked up to. Your entire body hurts and your throat is dry.

You clear your throat and suddenly, there’s a strong grip squeezing your hand. You flutter your eyes open. “Mom?” you ask, voice scratchy and she perks up in her seat, a shrill to her voice and she kisses your hand.

“Oh, honey. How are you feeling?” she asks, wiping away the tears from beneath her eyes and shuffling to the end of her seat.

You frown, sitting up but the pang of pain in your stomach stops you from doing so. You mom eases you back to the hospital mattress and coos you. “Paramedics said you got caught in the explosion at the mall. A damn metal pole impaled you, hon.”

You frown harder. What?

“If it weren’t for Billy waiting outside to pick you up, God knows what would’ve happened,” she shudders, and your eyes widen at the mention of your boyfriend.

“Billy,” you breathe. “Where is he? Is he here?” you ask, trying to sit back up again and your mom ushers you to calm down and lay back.

“He’s just gone to get us something to drink. He’s okay, a bit beaten up from walking through the explosion to get to you, but he’s okay. He’s a tough guy, honey,” she reminds you.

It’s barely 10 minutes later when your mom is excusing herself to have a smoke outside and Billy is sauntering into your hospital room with bloodshot eyes and a bruising face.

“Billy,” you whimper, hands reaching out for him and he takes the seat your mom was on and holds your hands, kissing your knuckles and scooting as close to your side as he can.

���Baby, hey. How are you feeling?” he asks, one hand holding yours and the other is stroking the matted hair from your face.

You lean into his touch and kiss the palm of his hand, fresh tears pooling in your eyes and he wipes them away the second they fall.

“I haven’t seen you in two weeks, then all of a sudden you’re at the mall at 3 a.m. with a bunch of kids… and that… that monster. Why does my mom think there was an explosion? Does she know about the monster? What happened to it? What the hell happened?”

He cuts you off with a soft kiss and pulls away, cupping your face in his sweating palms. “Hey look, listen to me, Y/N, listen,” he says, he calming voice soothing you immediately.

“I promise you, I’ll explain everything the second we get you out of here. But for now, just agree with them about the explosion or say you don’t remember,” he tells you, like he’s been told to do the same thing.

You frown, but slowly nod your head. You can’t get that damn image out of your mind; Billy fighting a 15-foot monster with his bare hands, the look of terror on his face when he saw you.

“You’re safe, it’s gone. It’s gone, we’re safe, I promise,” he says.

It’s like he reads your mind and you nod, swallowing back the fear of the situation. Billy moves closer until he’s laying beside you on the bed and holding you as close as he can.

He kisses your cheek. “You’re gonna have such a badass scar,” he says, voice light as he tries to make you smile.

You struggle out a laugh and nuzzle your head against his chest, your fingers intertwining with his. “I’ll take a badass scar any day if it means you’re safe you mumble out.

Billy feels his heart flutter and cheeks blush and he holds you tighter, leaning your chin up to press a gentle kiss to your mouth.

Your lips are both chapped and sore, his bottom one split and swollen, but you welcome the dull pain that comes with the act of affection and coddle closer into him.

“No more late nights at that stupid ice cream parlour,” he tells you, voice gruff and you can feel his muscles tense.

You hum and snort out a laugh. “I doubt the mall will be open for a little while. At least I won’t have to wear that godforsaken sailor’s outfit,” you groan.

Billy smirks and strokes your arm. “It’s a shame, you did look pretty hot in it,” he quips, licking his lips and you howl out a laugh and shake your head.

Have you ever read a book that actually changed your outlook on life? I haven’t had that profound of an effect, no. I’ve read a lot of amazing books that I’ve really enjoyed and I get invested in them and the characters, but I don’t know, I haven’t felt changed by any of them.

How do you feel about teenage girls that are on birth control? It helps with bad menstrual cycles and pain as well, so that could be one reason they’re taking it. But anyway, if they’re going to be sexually active then of course it’s best they’re taking precautions and being safe. I personally don’t think teenagers should be having babies, so. I’m not like encouraging teenagers to have sex, but I know some will and if they do, I hope they’re informed and being safe.

Do you judge people, and then lie about it? I mean, I feel like we all judge people to some certain small degree, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that I’m “judgmental”, if that makes any sort of sense. And I always make sure never to judge anyone based on a first impression, only because I know that my own personally suck. Lol. <<< I get what you mean, I would say the same thing.

What does your favorite song remind you of? I have a lot of favorites, though.

Does the thought of growing up scare you? I’m 31 and it still scares me.

Do you brag about being different than everyone else? No. I don’t brag about anything.

Where exactly are you from? Are you proud of that? I’m from the US. 

Is there a talent that you wish you were good at? I wish I had a talent.

Are you honestly so depressed that you've considered suicide? It’s been something I’ve thought about, but never seriously planned out. I could never.  Do you think that is a problem with teenagers in this country? I’m thinking of like all the YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok teenagers who blow up for whatever reason and it really just seems to get their heads and a lot come off entitled and snobby and like they’re untouchable. It’s also sad to me because I feel like they’re trying to grow up way too fast. 

How do you feel about unloyalty in relationships? Uh, it’s bad?

Have you ever had a day that you wanted to repeat over and over? No, eventually it would get boring and wouldn’t be considered special anymore. <<< Yeah. I’d like to experience some things again, sure, but not over and over.

What is your biggest accomplishment? Bleh.

If you could have anything right now, what would it be? I want ramen, which I’m about to make.

Are you planning to hook up with anyone this summer? No.

Do you love the little things in life? Yes. I need to stop and realize and appreciate them more.

If you have a significant other, could you live happily without them? I’m single.

Are pirates really better than ninjas? I don’t know.

What type of career do you see yourself in, in the future? I have no idea.

Don't you just hate when people copy other people's ideas? Maybe they don’t all do it intentionally, though. You could try turning the situation around and view it as a compliment, as long as it doesn’t get too annoying. <<< True. 

What does your ipod/mp3 player consist of? I don’t have one, I just use Spotify on my phone. My main playlist consists of a large variety of genres and artist/bands from different decades.

Do you have any odd songs on there? None I consider odd.

If someone had told you, you would be who you are today, five years ago, would you believe them? Yikes. That would have scared and depressed me, but maybe it would lit a fire under my ass and I would have done some thing to try and prevent some of what I’ve been dealing with.

What is something that not many people understand about you? Why I completely distanced myself and became withdrawn these past few years from everyone and just holed up at home.

What do you think about William Shakespeare's work? Some of his works were required reading in high school, so I read it for that reason but it wouldn’t have been something I would have picked on my own and read for my own pleasure.

Do you like things that most people think are weird? Some things, probably. Like ASMR. I don’t care, though.

Do you look up to anyone in particular? My mom.

Are you obsessed with anything you would consider odd? Hmm. No, not that I can think of.

Explain your opinion on drugs. Do you ever do them? No, I don’t.

Have you ever uploaded a video on YouTube? I actually have, several years ago. A few of them. :O They’ve all been put on private and will never see the light of day again, though. lol.

Do people often doubt your intelligence? I think some might think I’m smart when actually I’m really not.

Who was the last person you were rude to? Did you have a good reason? I sometimes can be snippy and short when I’m in my extra moody, irritable moods. That’s absolutely not a good reason. My family doesn’t deserve that at all.
