hi nonny, thanks for the nice words! really appreciated. ♥️ so, you're looking for this grid effect:

you're starting off with two gifs. i'd recommend choosing scenes that are not too close up because otherwise they'll overlap too much and you won't be able to delete enough parts to make the most of this effect.

so, here's my base gif that i just did in black and white with some minor purple brush strokes set to screen:

i then chose my second gif and coloured it with a purple gradient map and a purple colour fill set to multiply. the colouring of the gifs is entirely up to you and what you think looks best. so here's my second gif, still without the grid:

this is where the fun part starts - the grid layout. i created that with a new guide layout. this is a super neat tool in photoshop that helps you align shapes or selections on your image. the guide lines basically float over it and help you set up symmetric shapes or layouts. you can define how many columns and rows you want to have and then photoshop creates the guide layout for you. for this gif i chose 4 columns and 4 rows:

with this set up, i started creating the rectangles to make the purple gif visible on top of the black and white one. this is my final layout for my shapes:

you can move around the shapes to your liking and what works best with your gifs. i didn't want to cover too much of my base gif but also tried to make their faces in the top gif all be in the gif as much as possible.

this step is just a lot of moving around your shapes and seeing what looks good tbh.

i then grouped my shapes and clipped my top gif (including all layers for the colouring) to my shapes group:

looking good so far. the only thing missing are the lines for the grid. this is where your guide layout comes in again. i just reopened it and then traced the guide lines with my line tool to create the white grid overlay:

(for editing purposes i turned all of the line layers into a single smart object at the end. this is why you only see one layer for all the lines in this screenshot.)

finally, i used a gaussian blur (0,5 px radius, 100% fill for the filter, 40% fill for the overall layer) on the smart layer to make the lines a little bit smoother and softer looking. this is totally optional and again, up to what looks best to you.

Hello! I'm that anon who once asked you about the lots you use in your gameplay and whether you built them all. I'm so impressed that you create most of them yourself! But ever since you replied to that question, I've been trying to envision a lot for one of my upcoming gameplays, but I'm struggling to fully see it in my mind, so I was wondering if you'd mind giving some tips on your process of building your lots. Building is my weakest skill in the game, but I want to give it a try!

hello again anon!! i'm very flattered u think it's impressive 🥺 i truly love creating spaces for these guys! i'll try my best to kinda go into my process but be warned.. like anything else i do it's pretty much just chaos/winging it dkjsdkj (it'd be much easier if i used floorplans or smth simple so i could be like, here do this! but alas...)

okay i'm prolly gonna ramble a lot here but i mostly base my builds off random visions/future scenes that pop into my head or straight up vibes.. which isn't very helpful ik but hopefully if i explain it'll make a bit more sense!

so with Oscar's house above i knew i wanted it to be BIG, but i didn't want it to feel like a mansion they couldn't afford so i added some other houses on the lot and just gave em the biggest plot! i also knew i wanted it to be symmetrical, but only from the outside cos i wanted it to feel slightly chaotic on the inside, also hence the random tower addition on the left and the sunroom on the right.. like it used to be a big grand symmetrical "mansion" (prolly at the time it was built) but over the years kinda ended up as a convoluted mess left to rot until someone rescued it (yay for Oscar's impulsivity 🤸‍♀️) AND IT NEEDED AN ATTIC!! u kno cos where else would Clementine live?? 👻

so really i had no inspo pics or house plan layouts to go off here, just a vibe and an idea, i started with a rough shape and worked out all the kinks from there, then added the other lots.. be prepared to hate your wip and start over tho cos ig it's all part of the fun!

here we have an actual wip to use as an example! so with this one i basically knew i wanted a wrap around style house around a "courtyard" but since mt. komo is shit and doesn't have any decent sized lots we'll have to go with an L-shaped design and a third floor ig 😩 i started with the ground floor and just pissed around with the others until i ended up with smth just right, like anything else i do, building is just ruminating on an idea until i'm like.. yeah that works sdkjskj.. also handy to place the bare minimum furniture items as u go to get a feel of how the space does or doesn't work so u can fix it n stuff!

also feel free to make shit look strange if it works, for example these window placements look weird as hell on the outside, but real life houses aren't always symmetrical or perfect on the outside and we spend most of our time on the inside where the windows make perfect sense so.. yeah! i'm big on views from the INSIDE of the house so i just make stuff work, also big fan of using ivy/wall decs n stuff to "fix" the way it might look on the outside if needs be too..

the school i made for Robin n' co. was entirely built around this pool (cos it's IMPORTANT) and the fact that it had to have a glass roof (it just HAD to ok idk why but we must kneel to the vision when it strikes 🧎‍♀️) i tried to make the rest of it make sense around it tho, like maybe it was added on afterward so the rest is a pretty standard shape with offices n shit near the entrances etc.. ALSO (wait i actually need to explain smth else before we get to this also BUT BEAR WITH ME!)

ask yourself some questions (if u want? or just dl a house idk dskjdk)

i treat building similarly to writing and that means asking yourself some questions.. like you might ask why a character is doing/saying something, what happened in the past to make them this way? what're they aiming for in the future to choose these paths etc etc.. WELL.. what's this building for, who is it for, who chose to live here, who got stuck here, why do they like it, why do they hate it, etc etc.

we either get stuck somewhere we hate and it doesn't suit us, or we're lucky enough to choose somewhere that we love, but why? Oscar's house is sprawling and chaotic because they kinda are, and it suits them! all the random cupboards leading nowhere and the quirky additions are just perfect for them, if they were real people looking for a real house they'd view it and LOVE it, but other characters definitely would NOT 😅 the wip is neat and practical cos the people who're gonna live there are! 👀 and the school (see we got to that ALSO eventually) has that huge "grand" courtyard at the front that's actually pretty useless because it's a shitty comprehensive school that wants to give the image that it's decent, but actually it's a bit shit and there's nothing going on in the back, nowhere for the kids to play outside and very limited resources/equipment for them either.. like everything is built the way it is for a reason, which is why i think i find it so impossible to use other ppls builds, cos they don't fit all these visions in my mind...

ok i'm gonna shut up now but i HOPE this rambling mess somewhat explains how i go about starting a build and why.. i'm not sure i can help with the vision part since your brain is your own but floorplan websites and things like pinterest or even just google images are great for giving you ideas if you're struggling!

vere's demeanor immediately gets serious when he notices you're upset. he's dropping whatever he was doing and coming closer, pulling you somewhere quiet if you aren't there already

feeling dysphoric | if you were just feeling dysphoric, he jumps straight into comfort, whatever that means for you. do you want a distraction? do you want to talk about it?

he'll double down on any preferred compliments for a while, making sure to casually use them in your conversations. if you start questioning your appearance or get worried about being seen as someone you're not, he shakes his head and tells you to look at him. keeps direct eye contact so you know he's absolutely serious with the compliments he's about to say.

vere would also help you buy clothes that made you feel confident. fully supports dressing up and the importance of clothing. you guys aren't leaving until you agree with him about being the best-looking couple in the city

masc (prince) | gets you to try on something so so fancy so he can tease you, "are you sure you aren't hiding some royal bloodline from me? am i unknowingly dating a prince of some far away land?"

fem (beautiful) | eventually picks that outfit you keep eyeing every time you walk past the mannequin. you come out and he's extremely pleased. "i knew you'd look beautiful in it, what took you so long to try it on?"

gn/androgynous | after time, he gets a good handle on what you lean towards and brings you ? such a good fucking outfit where the fuck did he find this? "i think you have the title of the most stunning person in eridia."

borrowing his clothes | if it meant you wanted something from his closet, of course he'd let you wear it out. he thinks you might look better in that top than him, and he already has the perfect accessories to go with it

dealt with transphobia | if it was because of something someone said, he makes a mental note to look for them. genuinely pissed off but hides it well enough (you know both the fact that he's angry on your behalf but also that you right now are his priority)

so while he makes sure to call them on their shit and call them a stupid pathetic asshole,,, the filth on the bottom of his shoe,,, vere prioritizes getting you somewhere that feels safer so he can take care of you for the rest of the day

tells you your gender isn't up for debate. the only person who gets to question your gender is You in which case he'd still be supporting you as long as you were happy.

he reminds you that it has never been, and never will be hard or a burden to recognize you for who you are and to respect your identity. he's always going to see you as you, and you'll always be able to trust him to love and respect you.

affirming your chosen name | don't know if this is really specific but like,, vere seems like he'd compliment your name? he'd smile as he tells you that it fits you perfectly, and it's maybe his favourite thing to say.

vere gets softer with you in general behind closed doors, i think. he lets you get away with things that others wouldn't, but that lenience/softness somehow multiplies when you're having a bad day

you want to cuddle in bed all day and play with his tail or ears? that's fine with him. you want to take a bath or shower together because having him there to help wash you gets your mind off of everything? sounds lovely! do you want a scented soap? you want to go to the wet wick for drinks or to meet up with the others? Maybe questions your taste but gets up and ready with you of course. do you want to stay in with him and just spend some time together? let him get some tea going and go get a blanket, neither of you are leaving for as long as you need him

omg. vere drawing you with like,, whatever style or haircut or look makes you happiest just so you can have it. let him remind you that that's You in his mind, and he'll do whatever's needed to get you there

THE OTHERS (/ ALL)

the urge to use inanimate objects and abstract concepts to explain your gender. while not all of them would initially, or maybe ever fully understand, i really think they'd try so so hard. they'd agree with you and say yes you Do have the energy of that little cat with rain boots standing in a puddle. yes you ARE a mystical fantasy forest. that depiction of an otherworldly creature has your vibes. to be so honest i Am curious about what mhin would describe their gender as if asked

ment. of misgendering | not a single person is getting away with misgendering you (with malintent) in front of any of them, much less all of them together. daggers are getting shot into their soul from every angle until somebody corrects them

ment of transphobia | sometimes just,, seeing it on the news or wherever else is overwhelming enough. it's hard and frustrating and heartbreaking and emotionally ? just not a good time. let any of them know that you'd like some comfort or a distraction and they'll be there, whatever you need.

mhin will take you to sit and talk on the roof, hand you some treats to feed the strays on your way there. thinking about a scenario where you and mhin are with the cats and the both of you talk about how cats are just,, so much better than people sometimes. cats can't be verbal assholes they just meow. this also works with ais and his pets of course

you could literally ask kuras to help with a haircut and he would maybe First of all suggest going to a professional, but ultimately stand in the washroom with scissors ready if you don't want to. LOL

wearing makeup | ais and his red eyeliner will help you try a new make-up look if you ask. vere and his what I think is eyeliner/eye shadow would also help. either of them would do their best to follow your inspiration, and also teach you how to do it if you don't know how !

masc presenting | not just vere but like,, any of the guys will let you try on their clothes. if you don't like it or they don't fit (considering kuras is fucking 6 foot 6.) they'll take you shopping ! suggest their favourite brands and places and do their best to get you a closet you're happy with.

mhin lets you check their closet too and i'm so sure they know some kind of like,, lesser known store that has the most Gender Fucking Clothes. THEIR TOP? THE CLOAK? be serious where did you get this tell me your secrets

and i think it's a given but just a reminder that if you use multiple names they're all going to switch between them regularly,, the same with pronouns.

the next points just give you (cute) little moments where terms would be used for you to think about! :) the entire cast would use the terms that make you happiest, when they make you happiest. just let them know if you'd prefer one type over the other today, and of course they'll happily oblige :]

masc | (boyfriend) leander grins happily while he introduces you to people as his boyfriend. (handsome) and calling you handsome has become one of his favourite things to do. would go "hey handsome, you come around often?" when he catches you sitting at the bar of the wet wick

(he/him pronouns) | ais. help me. get the "i'm he's" joke AWAY FROM HIM! he won't let it go like he'll get drunk and order matching shirts that say I'm He's on it if you don't stop him i'm so serious. said it out loud to the others once and they "?" but went with it anyways. someone asks you "are you sure you want to be he's?" but don't laugh (do laugh.)

gn | (partner) i don't know kuras's sleeping schedule but i feel like either way if he catches you up late he tells you you should sleep. you say You're up right now and he shakes his head. "i'm finishing something up, and you're my partner who i want to be well-rested. i'll be up in a few minutes, i promise."

while i don't really see mhin as someone who really uses…words of affirmation…whenever they do compliment you they Mean it. at first they just say "you look nice," but then you catch them flustered and unable to look at you and ??? they say they're fine. the outfit you've chosen for tonight is just...really you. it's one of their favourite looks on you and it's the best one you could have chosen and they're really trying not to stare please look away they're dying

fem | (pretty) leander conjuring up a flower and tucking it behind your ear and saying it looks pretty, but you look prettier. to be honest he gives me casual compliment vibes either way, you could probably walk down the stairs and he'd say "well doesn't someone look pretty today?" bro you said that yesterday and the day before

(gorgeous) i totally see kuras as someone who while going on a stroll with you through the market will immediately notice if something catches your eye. whatever gorgeous piece of jewelry you thought you'd be stuck thinking of for the next 3 months? he buys it for you right there. "though i think you're still more gorgeous than it, it looks perfect on you," he says with a smile.

Tbf to Dorothea's hypocrisy on CF, couldn't that be blamed more on the fact that the vast majority of the optional recruits in that route are written heavily out-of-character so they can side with Edelgard, including Dorothea herself?

It doesn't fix 3H not realizing that she's much more priviliged than an average commoner, but i feel like Dorothea being hypocritical on CF is is more an example of that route's generally clownish character writing than something specifically wrong with her imo.

If it weren't for Ferdinand I'd say sure, but that specific aspect of her hypocrisy stays with her no matter the route. She's never angry at Edelgard. Ever. She's only ever regretful that they have to fight each other, and never shows off that she feels betrayed by Edelgard's actions. She can stay pissed at Ferdinand for what he did as a fuckin' NINE YEAR OLD CHILD put into AN INSANELY FLUSTERING SITUATION for a child to be randomly put into out of nowhere - and stay mad at him FOR OVER A DECADE - because it hurt her feelings, but she had a chill year with Edelgard (that gets revealed to her to be built on a foundation of lies and blood) so that means she's chill with Edelgard's

ATTEMPTED

MURDER

and will NEVER bring that event up, and will NEVER get pissed at her for doing it. Even though HER LIFE WAS NEARLY ENDED because of it.

And also, she still does explicitly hate nobility on all routes - she will lambast them for crawling back to the player's army once Edelgard is defeated out of self-interest. She'll praise and cry for Bergliez for giving up his life to spare his men, and that and hating nobles would all be just fine... except she does all this without ever acknowledging who exactly it was that caused Bergliez's sacrifice to be a necessity in the first place. You know, the one who threw everyone into war? For her own benefit? That thing Dorothea literally just got finished showing off she didn't like nobles doing? But it's fine if her bestie does it!

So, not really - while CF certainly does exacerbate these issues in Dorothea, they are always there to some degree regardless of where she's at

“Pleaseeee?” “No.” It’s instant the way he shoots down your question, tone flat and void of any emotion as he keeps his eyes on ahead.

You deflate momentarily before trying again. “C’mon! It’s cold and my hands are freezing!” “‘m not doing it.”

“Jeff…” You pout, casting your eyes to the sidewalk and hanging your head low as silence fell over the two of you accompanied by the sound of both your footsteps.

“For fucks sake, fine.” And he is annoyed with your persistence. He really doesn’t like the idea of his hand touching someone else’s, it makes his face scrunch up in disgust and if it were anyone else he would’ve told them to fuck off and kick rocks. But of course he had to be with the biggest baby in all of Forest Lawn.

The way you seem to have a skip in your step afterwards makes him feel irritated that you’re so happy go lucky all the time (and especially when you’re around him. He doesn’t understand where your joy comes from consider he sucks the happiness out of everything and everyone around him.) But the corners of his lips tug up slightly and he lets out a slight chuckle as he drops his head for a second.

“What’s wrong?” You ask, always so genuine and caring. It’s fucking weird to experience and deal with someone besides his annoying family worrying about him, but you aren’t obnoxious about it. It’s as if you’re slowly “understanding” him and what gets on his nerves the most. The thought makes him chuckle again.

“‘s nothin’.” He grins to himself, shaking your hand exaggeratedly in his own as if he’s trying to shake the foreign feeling he got away.

You giggle at the action, all smiley with heart eyes at him as you step a little closer and squeeze his larger hand gently before talking on about a creepy shop you thought he’d like to look at and his fingers ever so slightly push into your hand more.

Hello! Would it be okay to ask you for advice on how to build some characters in Honkai star rail?

hi nonnie and ofc !! this will go very bare-bones into character building so, uh, buckle up 🧍‍♀️

the main principle is to prioritise one or two characters at a time. if you go for more than one, then preferably ones that either share the same trace material or their relics are in the same domain to make farming a lot easier and less tedious !!

the next question is: which character(s) will be the one built, and what are their stat focuses? for example, are they a dps who requires atk%, or one that needs a different main stat like hp%? are they a sustain (healer & shielders)? are they a general or a niche (specific for certain characters/situations) support?

once you know these, then you can narrow down what you need.

light cone

this will be a very short section in comparison to relics, as the main thing you really need to make sure of is that the light cone path matches the character path (i.e. a hunt light cone for a hunt character will allow you to make the most use out of it compared to, say, a destruction character, as they won't be able to use the passive ability and only gain the flat atk, hp, and def stats).

the next thing is to make sure the passive ability works with your character. for five stars, their signature light cones are of course the best and easiest tell, but if you don't have them then you will have see the effects. for example, support characters will want light cones that either help boost the team (i.e. dance! dance! dance! gives action forward to all allies when the wearer uses their ultimate), sustains will want something that boosts their defensive/healing capabilities, damage dealers will want something that increases their overall output (can either but dmg%, atk% or a crit/crit dmg% boost), etc.

of course, some may have specific needs (like ruan mei who would want memories of the past as her light cone for both the extra break effect & energy, especially at high(er) superimpositions), but it will always be found in the same path and are easily identifiable. there will also be more coming out in the future, so better options are still yet to come!

relics

the relic pieces have set main stats;

cavern relics:

head piece is always flat hp

hand piece is always flat atk

body piece can be: atk%, hp%, def%, effect hit rate, break effect, outgoing healing bonus, crit rate, crit dmg

feet piece can be: atk%, hp%, def%, speed

planar ornaments:

planar sphere can be: atk%, hp%, def%, type dmg bonus

link rope can be: atk%, hp%, def%, break effect, energy regeneration rate

cavern relics are what can be farmed in overworld domains. they have four pieces which can give you the full set effect, or you can have two pieces for the two piece effect and mix it with another two piece set effect (i.e. this is usually put on supports/sustains, but can also be used on damage dealers if needed).

planar ornaments are farmed from within simulated universe after each elite boss + from the final boss. these ones only have a two piece effect, and cannot be mix-and-matched.

generally, each archetype/class/role will follow the same or similar principle;

the main/sub dps/damage dealer role will want:

body piece: crit rate or crit dmg

feet piece: atk%/hp%/def%/speed

planar sphere: type dmg bonus

link rope: atk%/hp%/def%

certain main stats will depend on what they scale off of. some dps (like dan heng il) will want atk% if they can afford to be slower or have a support that can bump them up, other dps (like jingliu) will want speed to be faster to get more out of their kit, and some will scale off other stats such as hp% (blade) or def% (afaik we dont have a def% scaling dps, but we will probably get one soon).

the best cavern relics will be ones where the set effect benefits them. this can include ones with type dmg bonus as a two piece to mix-and-match with another that has the stat they scale off of, a full four piece that helps their overall output, or one a bit more specific which tailors to how their kit works, such as increased follow-up damage (jing yuan, topaz, blade (inert salsotto ornament only), dr. ratio, and possibly clara with the inert salsotto ornament), increased dot (damage over time) damage (kafka, black swan, sampo, and guinaifen) and increased damage against debuffed enemies (acheron and dr. ratio).

the ideal planar ornaments would be ones that focus on increasing damage output, and it usually again depends on the character's kit for what they need, much like the cavern relics, and with factors such as whether they primarily use their skill and/or basic attacks (rutilant arena would be best in this case), if they use follow-up attacks or have a high ultimate damage (inert salsotto), or if you want an overall damage output from high speed (firmament frontline: glamoth, though so far only characters like seele can really make use of it due to her high base speed + her bonus from her kit, but you can also have supports which buff the speed to meet the threshold) to name a few.

the sustain role will want:

body piece: hp%/def%/outgoing healing bonus

feet piece: hp%/def%/speed

planar sphere: hp%/def%

link rope: energy regeneration rate

the role has two sub-categories; the healer (abundance) and the tanks (preservation).

healers would want (sub)stats that prioritise hp% with an outgoing healing bonus body piece + speed + hp% orb + either a hp% or energery regeneration rate rope. (luocha however is an exception, as he scales off atk, so replace the hp% stats with atk% where you can.)

the best cavern relic sets would either be passerby of wandering cloud for the outgoing healing bonus (the extra skill point is nice, but usually the two piece + either another with a speed or hp% two piece is better) two piece longevous disciple for the bonus hp%, messenger traversing hackerspace is good for the increased speed two piece and party action advance four piece if the ultimate can be used on an ally, but the full set is better for supports rather than healers.

planar ornaments that either boost the character's scaling stat or buff the party are ideal (broken keel and penacony, land of dreams can be good ones, primarily broken keel if you can reach the effect resistance threshold).

tanks/shielders would want (sub)stats that prioritise def% and follow the same general set-up as healers, substituting the hp% for def%, and for the body piece to also have def%. (fu xuan is another exception, as she scales off hp for her sustain as she mitigates damage to herself.)

the best cavern relics would either be knight of purity palace for the def% increase two piece and shield absorption increase four piece (the full set is mainly for characters who provide shields), guard of wuthering snow is mainly good for the damage reduction two piece, but even then you would mainly use this for fu xuan with two piece longevous. there aren't any options, but there will probably be more in the future.

and the ideal planar ornaments would be either belobog of the architects for the increase def% and effect hit rate, broken keel if you want to buff your party + have some effect resistance, and possibly penacony, land of dreams if you want to have multiple/mono-typing (i.e. mono quantum with fu xuan as the quantum sustain).

the support role will want:

body piece: hp%/def%/effect hit rate/break effect/crit damage

feet piece: hp%/def%/speed

planar sphere: hp%/def%/type damage bonus

link rope: energy regeneration rate

general supports will usually have a defensive stats such as hp% or def% for survivability + speed boots + a sustain sphere. their main job is to buff a character/the party, so the priority is to keep them alive without having them be one-shot by the enemy.

the best cavern relics will be messenger traversing hackerspace four piece if they can use their ult on an ally/all allies (which is more often than not a yes since their purpose is to buff). there isn't really much else other than this set, as you want to boost your team and you will get a lot of survivability stats from your rolls, so you don't need anything that offers more.

the best planar ornament sets will be either fleet of the ageless for the bonus hp% + teamwide atk% boost after getting 120 speed, broken keel (arguably the best set), and penacony, land of dreams (again, good for mono teams).

niche supports will follow a similar set-up to general supports, with the exception of the body piece. this could either be break effect (such as ruan mei, whose kit relies on it despite being a general support) or crit damage (such as sparkle or bronya who need a high crit dmg to boost others). their role is to work with a specific kit archetype or boost a certain mechanic. topaz can technically fall in this category (especially with her light cone), but she would want more dps-centred sets as listed previously.

the relic sets are basically the same as those of general supports. the only difference are characters like ruan mei, who will want the thief of shooting meteor cavern relic for the increased break effect (messenger traversing hackerspace can still be used but isn't recommended unless you roll a lot of break effect stats to reach 160%, which can be lessened if you use the light cone memories of the past or the planar ornament set talia: kingdom of banditry for the extra break effect at 145 speed.

the planar ornaments will also be the same, unless future sets come out and are more in-demand.

debuffers (nihility) can be a bit more on the offensive side with the stats, but will mainly depend on the effect hit rate body piece + extra sub-stats of that where possible (could be from light cone as well). their main job is to apply debuffs to the enemy, so having a high effect hit rate is ideal in case some bosses have a high resistance.

the best cavern relic sets can vary, and you will typically use ones that increase their damage. for example, welt would want either the full set of wastelander of banditry desert, pela would usually want the full piece of musketeer of wild wheat or maybe even hunter of glacial forest if you want her to smack more, and silver wolf would want the full set of genius of brilliant stars. a recent set that came out is pioneer diver of dead waters, which can be good on them as the four piece (silver wolf especially), or you can use the two piece with their type bonus two piece.

the best planar ornaments will usually be pan-cosmic commercial enterprise, which increases their effect hit rate as well as increases their atk% based on 25% fo their effect hit rate. however, if needed, they can also make use of penacony, land of dreams and/or broken keel, but pan-cosmic is typically a better all-rounder for them. the debuffers will usually be the ones to have a type damage bonus sphere if you want them to do more damage.

another thing to take into consideration is speed. while there is a lot of back and forth about whether speed is necessary and when, i think it really just depends on whether you

a) actively participate in/complete end-game content and need the speed in order to be fast enough to have your characters take their turn at least twice in a cycle (i.e. forgotten hall/memory of chaos, pure fiction, swarm disaster, gold & gears, etc.)

or b) have a character who needs to meet a certain speed threshold in order to make use of a set's passive ability. there are currently five planar ornament sets that have this requirement:

space sealing station - Increases the wearer's ATK by 12%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer's ATK increases by an extra 12%.

fleet of the ageless - Increases the wearer's Max HP by 12%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, all allies' ATK increases by 8%.

talia: kingdom of banditry - Increases the wearer's Break Effect by 16%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 145 or higher, the wearer's Break Effect increases by an extra 20%.

sprightly vonwacq - Increases the wearer's Energy Regeneration Rate by 5%. When the wearer's SPD reaches 120 or higher, the wearer's action is Advanced Forward by 40% immediately upon entering battle.

firmament frontline: glamoth - Increases the wearer's ATK by 12%. When the wearer's SPD is equal to or higher than 135/160, the wearer deals 12%/18% more DMG.

this is just a general comment: of course there are other sets that people may use on their builds, but we will also get more sets in the future updates, so it really just ultimately depends on which sets you have the best rolls on, and you can always farm more later if you feel you need to!

Hi, I hope this is okay to ask. If not, totally okay! I am recently becoming comfortable with my attraction to women and bisexuality. However, I am also in a relationship with a cis man I care about and love very much. Can I ask about your journey and becoming comfortable with your sexuality within the context of your relationship?

Big question, I love it. Thank you for asking.

So, my partner and I have been together since I was 18, which was well before I really started interrogating my sexuality and what that meant for me. I grew up Catholic, with Conservative-leaning family, especially regarding social issues, so I never really knew there were options other than being straight.

Looking back, I definitely had some very intense friendships with girlfriends in highschool that probably should have clued me in earlier, but I didn't know it was an option and I liked boys just fine, so I figured everyone had girls they wanted to sit really close to and whose hair they wanted to touch, and clearly I enjoyed kissing boys, ergo I was straight.

When my partner and I moved in together in my third year of university, that was when I started to wonder about my sexuality and what being queer meant, especially as someone who was and continues to be in love with a cisgendered dude, and is generally monogamous. I looked at my attraction to women and my attraction to my partner, and looked at our relationship, wondering if I was missing something in it, and wondering if I wanted something he couldn't give me. I worried a lot about whether it was like, the seven year itch, or a quarter life crisis brought on by swapping majors in university and narrowly avoiding a nervous breakdown. I wondered if I was just imagining things, or if I was just being influenced by being around out, proud queer people on the regular as part of being a volunteer at the women's center on campus. I wondered if I should say anything, to anyone, or if I should just keep it to myself forever, suppressing the desires I realised I'd been feeling for such a long time, now. I wondered if my friends would still like me. I wondered if I would have to come out to my family. I wondered if my partner would leave me. I wondered if we would survive this revelation I was having about myself.

It was a scary thing to think about. I could lose someone I loved very much and who I knew loved me, and whose life was entwined with mine. But I also knew that he was a good person, and a kind person - I wouldn't have been with him otherwise, so I had to trust that he would see this not as a threat, but as a deepening of our intimacy and so, in the end, I decided I couldn't keep it to myself. I couldn't go on pretending I was something I wasn't.

It's been a journey, really - I had to come out to myself, and then to the people around me who mattered and who I needed to love all of me and not just the most public bits. I came out to my partner fairly early on, and it was a bit fraught! I was worried he'd not take it well - and initially, to be honest, it was a touchy thing between us! We've grown so much as a couple since then though, that now it's just a part of me that he accepts and celebrates and acknowledges.

I still, many years on, struggle with being queer enough because I'm passably straight, and don't outwardly 'Look Queer:tm:' so people just make assumptions. Even though I'm pretty loudly out online, I'm a little less out in real life. I work in a professional corporate setting, my parents are still Conservative, the community I live in is very rural, etc., which all adds up to not always feeling safe to be out and so I maintain my stealth mode a lot.

But, the crux of it all for me, is that my relationship is queer because I am in it. I am queer regardless of who I am or am not dating. I love my partner, and I intend to keep on loving him until we are old and grey and buried, and my being queer is just a part of me as the person who my partner loves. I fell in love with him before I was out to myself, and maybe, in another life, I'd have met a woman I loved first, or figured it out sooner, or or or - but I don't live those other lives, I live this one, and in it, I love him, and he loves me, and I'm queer, and that's enough.

Welcome to the journey, beloved. It's a lifelong one, and we all do it at our own pace. There's no right or wrong way to be queer, there's only the way you are.

Regarding your mixed feelings, is it the interaction you're worried about? I know it has been hit and miss with some writers. Or is it a different reason?

Something I'm trying to remind myself of since I'm tired most days is the fun of writing and creating. It's a wonderful thing to use our imaginations and shouldn't feel like a chore. I don't have to "produce" a certain amount. It should be an escape and what is shared is more than enough.

Give yourself grace. Be proud of every single word you write. No one can tell your story the way you can. It deserves to be shared at your own pace. You have a place here.

do you have any advice on how to encourage someone away from falling down the hindutva pipeline? i’m worried my mom might go down that path since she’s been drinking the hindu nationalism kool aid more nowadays.

(i think part of the reason it might be sticking with her is because we live in the us, where we ARE the minority.)

I think you should start with baby steps. Gently nudge her towards the truth by showing her instances of Hindu fascist violence (hate crimes on Dalits, defaming churches and putting their orange flags to "celebrate" things like that). If she has something to say about Islamic rulers, ask her this: why do the actions of this specific ruler bother her so much? What bearing do they have on today's day and age? (answer: none). What makes them so uniquely evil? They were just your average invader. Lots of Hindu kings destroyed temples of other sects. This is part and parcel of medieval history

Hindus literally make up 80% of India's population they are not oppressed here. The circumstances of Hindus minorities do not match those of India's Hindu majority.

Do you have a specific place where you buy your cloth for them? And do you look for a specific kind as well? I believe it's called minky or something similar, right?

That's awesome!! Sewing plushies is so fun, and I hope you enjoy it! I buy my plushie making fabric in a few different places. Nowadays, I usually buy minky from CaliQuiltCo on Etsy. I like CaliQuiltCo because they let you buy minky by the 1/4 yard or a cut they call a "fat half", which is 36" by 30". I usually get the fat half; I find it's a more usable cut of fabric for plushie making and with most of the things I make half a yard lasts me quite a while I get my fleece, faux fur, and faux sherpa fabrics from Joanns Fabric, a chain craft store in the US. I would only recommend buying from Joanns in person, not online. They've had some issues with inventory management online, and sell a lot of their minky in 2 yard minimums, which is a LOT of one color for plushie making (all of this is based off of experiences I had with Joanns website a few years ago. They might be better now, idk). In person, they also have remnants bins where you can get the remnants from a bolt of fabric (usually a yard or less) at a huuuuge discount. That's the main place I get my faux furs because faux furs can be really really expensive. If you're starting out sewing, I'd recommend fleece. It's significantly cheaper than minky, almost as soft, has a similar amount of stretch (so you can use it on the same patterns), and I've heard it's easier for beginners to work with when starting out. Oh, one more thing: I recommend Shannon minky, specifically their cuddle 3 minky. Their longer pile minky fabrics are good too, but they are significantly trickier to sew, to the point where sometimes I just handsew them instead of machine sewing

hi lovely!!! <3 thank you very much, i’m so happy to hear that! and omg omg of course!! i would love to share some tips, i am so honored you asked me o(≧◇≦)o

my number one tip is such a cliché, but it’s to write as much as you can! writing is just like any art, you’ll only get better & better with practice. and be patient with yourself! some days i write things that i don’t really like, and some days, i know i don’t feel up to it, so i won’t force myself to write just for the sake of it.

also, another basic tip, but something i struggle with a lot is comparing myself to others. the thing about art is everyone has a different voice & reading would be so boring if everyone’s writing sounded the same! so even if your writing isn’t just like your favorite writers’, it’s still valuable & beautiful because it’s a little part of yourself!! <;3

as for specifics! i formulate a lot of ideas from getting inspired by things around me & other media i’m consuming. some of my writing has been inspired by songs i love, some of them by books, etc. or just things that happen in my daily life! i think just getting in that mindset and thinking abt the world that way can be difficult, but so helpful to coming up with ideas!

when i really struggle with ideas, i usually take a step back & write small things like headcanons or short little drabbles about basic scenarios like first kisses or something! that way, i can get the creativity going, but i'm usually less worried about making those kinds of things perfect, opposed to my longer fics that are more fleshed out.

i’m so happy you asked about dialogue bc it is my favorite thing to write! i actually have a good tip for this. so whenever i write dialogue, i have that conversation in my head, like i’m speaking to that character, without worrying about any of the action that follows. that way you can see if it sounds natural or strange! i find that’s the easiest way to do it, as you’re just thinking ok, what would a normal person say to this kind of statement, how would they go about it? and then you’ve got a baseline that you can kind of tailor to the specific character or situation.

sometimes it helps if i write all the dialogue out first, and go back and add description and action later. that way, you can read it without any interruption. also, if dialogue sometimes feels clunky, it might not need to be changed! sometimes, i find that my writing just needs to be broken up by an action. it could literally a simple change like "hi. you look nice today." to "hi." he smiled. "you look nice today." and that can make all the difference!!

also, i know everyone says this, but reading actual books is such a valuable thing. it helps my writing soo much!! i'm not really sure why it is, but the more i read, the easier it becomes to write and come up with ideas!!

Could you write about a villian with severe anger issues, but still somehow, they've managed to come to love hero, and so has hero. Now, as they live together, villian just one days, snaps at hero for small little things. And at night, hero just storms off. Villian at this point wants to hate the hero now, and when thru hear a knock, they almost bring in their knife, and when they open the door to hero, IT TURNS OUT THAT HERO JUST WENT TO BUY VILLIAN SOME ICE CREAM AND COFFEE. CUZ THEY REMEMBERED THAT VILLIAN LOVES THESE TWO TOGETHER, SO JUST TO BRIGHTEN THEIR MOOD, THAT'S WHY HERO STORMED OFF. Cue the villian breaking down into tears as they hold their selfless hero in their arms and cry and apologise and kiss the hero and the hero just absolutely not minding it at all, cuz they are understanding enough to know that villian is going through something that is making them act like that, and they don't really mean it.

“I don’t know, Hero. I don’t know. I don’t know!” Villain snapped. “God, you keep asking me questions. Why the hell would I know how aglets are put on shoelaces? Or- or what type of plastic is supposedly safe to eat from? Or when- exactly, as you asked- sugar turns into caramel in a skillet? I don’t know, Hero!”

Hero’s lips parted halfway through Villain’s outburst. Shock took up many of her emotions, but somehow hurt triumphed them all. “I didn’t mean to upset you,” she said, and her voice was hardly heard. “You’ve just been gone all day; I wanted to make conversation.”

Not seeming to understand just how much damage he was already doing, Villain continued. “Yeah, well, I’m tired. It was a long day and the last thing I want is someone asking a thousand questions a minute.” He repeated, “I’m tired. I just want to sit here- here, in my goddamn chair- and watch a show. Can I please, for the love of everything in this universe, just do that?”

He sounded like an old man with nothing better to do than to wrap his lips around a cigar, while watching Casablanca for the tenth time in a week, wearing a fedora that went out of fashion seventy years ago.

“Do you have a show in mind?” Hero tried.

“No.” Without another word, Villain closed his eyes, laid his head back, and slept in his chair as he wished.

When Villain awoke, his mind was still in a place of dread, and the feeling intensified as he watched Hero’s small figure dart about the house as she gathered her things.

“What are you doing?” he asked, voice darker than before. Neither he, nor Hero, could tell if it was sleepiness or irritability which made his voice so low and unwelcoming, though caring little about what her lover’s voice meant, Hero responded, “Leaving.”

Her purse was already tucked into the crook of her elbow, and she had her wallet. Now to find the keys.

“You’re leaving?” Incredulous. “What the hell are you leaving for?” By the time Villain asked it, Hero had found the keys- in plain sight, on the kitchen counter- and business-walked to the front door. “Don’t forget the rest of your things! You’re going to leave me with your clothes and jewelry and all your other shi-” The door slammed shut. Villain began talking to himself instead. “Why would I ever think that she’d stay here with me? Why would I ever think she was any different from anyone else I’ve ever known? The hell is wrong with me?”

In the next hour, Villain moped around his home, drinking glasses of water, eating the crumbs out of old chip bags in the cabinet, and watching tv. It wasn’t particularly horrible; Villain just felt…off. As angry as he sounded, he wasn’t. He wasn’t angry, wasn’t sad, wasn’t much of anything other than another human who was overwhelmed and burnt out. There was no emotion- only exhaustion.

The sky outside was darkening more and more. If Villain squinted in search, he’d find a few stars shining through hazy clouds. It made him wonder, now, if Hero was ever coming home, or if this was really the end to…to them. Had he really been so horrible that she’d leave with nothing else but her wallet and keys? Maybe so.

Then again, Hero was easily saddened. She’s overreacting, Villain thought, because facing the fact that he might be the one in the wrong was preposterous.

Villain shifted in his chair and uneasily pulled his phone out of his pants pocket. He dialed Hero’s mother.

“Villain?”

“Yeah, hey.” His voice was typically more enthusiastic. Not now. “Is Hero around?”

Hero’s mother hummed. “No. No, I haven’t heard from her since this morning. Is everything okay? Are you home?”

He took a breath and closed his eyes. Yes, he was home. No, everything was not okay. Maybe Villain should have called Hero first, but then he considered a scenario in which she wouldn’t pick up the phone, and that thought infuriated him. What if he was worried? It was getting dark, and she wasn’t home. If she didn’t pick up the phone, it’d make him worry even more, and how was that fair to him?

He didn’t give thought to her answering the phone.

“Villain? You there?”

“I’m here,” Villain assured. He inhaled once again, and as he breathed out, he said, “I fell asleep earlier, and her keys were gone when I woke up. I figured she might have headed out there, but she might have just gone to Friend’s.”

“Did Hero not pick up the phone when you called?”

“I didn’t call,” Villain admitted. Then, “I had a nightmare, and I guess my mind just went to the worst place. I’m sorry. I’m- uh- I’m going to call Hero. I’ll get back to you when I know she’s alright. I’m sure everything is okay.” It was too difficult to admit he got angry, and Hero left him because of it. “Anyway, I’m going to-”

Knock, knock, knock.

“I’ll get back with you later.” Villain hung up, then scurried to the kitchen where he had immediate access to steak knives.

Soon after, Villain recognized the sound of keys rattling in the lock. But who else had keys to the house except for himself and…“Hero?”

Her face emerged into their home as the door creaked open more. “Little help?” She yelped as a bag dropped to the wooden floor. “Shoot! Oh, I hope the eggs weren’t in that one. Could you- you’re holding a knife.”

“You went grocery shopping.”

“I did. And you’re holding a knife. Should I,” Hero ventured, “go back to grocery shopping?”

“No. No, I”- Villain put the knife down- “was just shocked. We argued and then I fell asleep and then I woke up and then-”

Hero extended her free hand out to Villain. Free, as in, it held only one item, and that item was for Villain. “It’s probably half-melted by now- sorry. It’s an af…afro…afrogato? No, that means cat, doesn’t it? No, that’s gato.”

“You got me an affogato?” Villain’s brows pinched and his lips jutted out. Someone who didn’t know Villain, they would interpret his expression as anger, but Hero knew better. He was only confused.

“I don’t know what you’re going through, but I can tell you’re struggling. I thought this might help brighten your night.” She smiled sweetly, then tilted the small paper cup towards Villain, reminding him that he might want to take and eat it, or else he won’t get the chance to enjoy it. “If you can help get the groceries in really quick, I can put them away so you can enjoy the ice cream.”

Speechless, Villain took bags off Hero’s arm and rushed them to the kitchen island. He stuck his affogato in the freezer, then rushed to his and Hero’s car in the driveway. “Sit down,” he called out behind him. Hero didn’t like the grocery store; it exhausted her.

After the groceries were brought in, and Villain, not Hero, tucked them all away in the fridge, freezer, and cabinets, Villain took his treat- one he didn’t feel he deserved- and sat beside Hero on the couch.

Hero curled in, toes tucked between the couch cushions, and her arm wrapped around Villain’s. “You keep shaking your head,” she said. “What’s wrong.”

“I don’t deserve you,” Villain replied, head still shaking with his lack of understanding.

She sat up, then, and looked into his eyes. “Everyone deserves love. All tonight means is that we have some things to work on. We,” she emphasized, “not just you. I shouldn’t have taken off the way I did. It wasn’t helpful to either of us.”

Maybe she was right. Still, Villain’s outburst…“You didn’t deserve that.” His eyes darted away for a moment but came back as quickly as they left. “I’m sorry, Hero.”

Nodding, Hero tucked back into her love. “I’m sorry, too. Now eat your afro-cat.”
