knubblers reaction to someone confessing about liking him?
i feel like he'd be really flustered
he's probably gonna say some silly shit like "oh golly gee"
like he doesn't really know how to react
his face is redder than a tomato though, that's for sure
something in me also says he's going to like, stare at you for a solid 2 minutes with a O_o expression because he is absolutely mindboggled
you?? like him?? are you sure??
definitely verbally questions you because he cannot believe it
like he VIOLENTLY questions you
"now you're sure you aren't blind? you know who you're talking too, right??" I TOLD YOU BRO, MINDBOGGLED
but uh... he is definitely going to accept whatever offer you have to throw at him
he may be shocked
he may be hornswoggled and surprised and flabbergasted and astounded and dumbfounded
but he is NOT stupid

VA x Reader? 👀 ay yo I’m looking especially knowing how he is like-? Oh goodness that’s a treat- 👀
Mmm I've been thinking about it for a while. VA is one of the characters I really want to know more about (and hoping he gets a role in HSR too). He's just so intriguing...Lots of non canon-compliant bits here, just something I had in mind for him haha (Using He/Him for Void Archives here!)
Tumblr media
Void Archives ends up in the Herta Space Station, alone. There wasn't anywhere in particular he wanted to go, and the Space Station seems to be a good place to start. There's a ton of information that can be of use to him, relics and items with special powers, and a lot of research papers. It helped that the staff here all had a tendency to leave their notes and papers out in the open for just anyone to read it, aiding him further in his exploration. The term 'Honkai' wasn't applied anywhere, but there were mentions of a Stellaron and Aeons and...well, Void Archives could connect the dots.
(There was the question of the Herrscher's whereabouts, but he supposed the two of them would meet again, somehow.)
And then he meets you.
You're a researcher, though not held in nearly as high regards as your colleagues, with a particular interest in the Stellaron and the harm it brought. What you searched for was answers; a reason for the sudden spread, how it all started, and so on. VA steals your notes and drafts often, sharing your curiosity in the phenomenon, and looks over them carefully. Well-written, and detailed, accompanied by various, and at times, outlandish, theories. But from his own experience, even the most far-fetched possibilities weren't impossible.
He tells himself that your research, and by association, you, would be helpful, and that was the only reason why he was constantly near your desk. That's also why, when he sees you look particularly dejected after yet another failed report, he leaves you a can of your favorite drink on your desk. It's not because he can sympathize with your fervent devotion to your mission, or with your desire to stop staying in the shadows of others. It's only because it's in his best interests that you stay motivated and continue working on your research, so you can supply him with the information (and entertainment) he needs.
One day, you happen to catch him looking through your papers, and...you take it surprisingly well. He was muttering to himself something about your mention of aliens, and you immediately rushed over and launched into your understanding of alien species and their role in the disasters. You were foolish, he thinks, but oddly endearing. Maybe you thought he was a researcher, or maybe...he watches you go on about the Fragmentum and common identification signs with poorly contained excitement—maybe you were just happy that someone was interested in your work. A lot of your words don't make sense to him at the speed you're going, but he listens all the same—He's become quite good at that, after all the centuries. He finds it quite odd that just his presence by your desk has invigorated you to such an extent. He wonders how pathetic of a state you have to be in to end up like this, how desperate you must have been. It wasn't like Stellaron research was unpopular, it was just your ideas that weren't very well received. Such a shame too, your efforts were admirable, and your heart was in the right place, even if your ideas were a little unconventional.
But he doesn't particularly mind the company. He doesn't mind when you sit beside him after a long day, a string of complains ready to go (He acts disinterested, but he is listening. He thinks you keep coming back because you know this, too), or when you drag him to a window and name all the stars you know (He asks himself why he's never done this before; because he had never known to, or because he never cared to?), or even when you ask him for his opinions on your theories and reports (And what is he supposed to say? Tell you about the Honkai and the Sky People, and of his life so far, to assure you that nothing is too absurd to be real?). He finds that being beside someone after all this time, especially with someone who expected nothing from him and knew nothing of him, was...unexpectedly nice. It was something he could see himself getting used to, though he knew he shouldn't. There was a hundred other things he could be doing right now, and loitering with a nobody researcher was hardly on the list.
One more day, he tells himself. But he's been saying that for a little too long already.

One-shot connected to these headcanons
You were both in college
You didn't immediately talk to Albedo when you first become roommates since you were still getting used to everything, but he was nice so you two became friends after a few days
Sometimes you'd catch him awake at 6 am finishing his work or sketching
You didn't really mind if he woke up early or stayed up late, but the first time this happened, you got jumpscared after seeing him sitting in the couch when you just wanted to get water
If you both had the same classes, he'd help you with homework
If not he'd still try to help, he's very knowledgeable so I think he'd understand whatever you were having trouble with
If you wanted to bring more than 2 friends over you'd ask him if he was ok with it, he didn't mind as long as he wasn't bothered too much
He also wouldn't mind if you weren't social and didn't bring people over!
Once you both got close enough, he'd introduce you to his little sister, Klee
Klee was a hyper child, but she was adorable so you didn't mind if she visited again♡

due to a couple conversations with some friends today who write muses from other universes i'm curious to explore, i just wanted to drop a quick line that i have a generic "au" verse for mags now! (♡´౪`♡)
basically, for any setting not his own (a universe where Rosas doesn't exist), mags has ended up in that new universe after a... somewhat failed but ultimately successful (???) attempt to break out of mirror jail
task failed successfully
he's broken out buuuut he's not in his own world
the forbidden magic straight-up just trolling him now ( ✧≖ ͜ʖ≖) but it's deserved

Ed and Hughes (FMA) #17
Let Me Count the Ways ask game
(specifically '03 animeverse) Prompt: "Are you just going to keep walking by my house or are you going to come in?"
“Did he come back?”
Peering through the tiny slit of the curtains, Maes spotted the small figure standing under the streetlight. No red coat, no braid, no swagger. Just a twelve-year-old boy dressed in black, hands stuffed into pockets as he stared up at their house. “Yeah.”
“That's the third time,” Gracia yawned from the bed.
“It's like he's...too embarrassed to come knock on the door, but he wants to,” Maes murmured, watching the way Ed just stood there, scuffing his shoe against the ground and not moving on.
With a sigh, Gracia sat up. “Well, either call him inside or come back to bed.”
Maes looked over his shoulder at her and smiled, his heart warming at the sight of her. Even with tousled hair and huge bags under her eyes, exhausted from the demands of a certain little someone asleep in the next room, Gracia looked so beautiful. It was tempting to just crawl back under the covers and drift off to sleep again, but something told him he wouldn't be able to rest until he knew why Edward Elric was standing outside his house in the middle of the night.
Call it the Investigations officer in him. Or maybe the father.
As he passed by the bed on the way to the door, Gracia got up and reached for her housecoat. Maes held out a hand to stop her. “No—I can talk to him, hon. You need your sleep.”
Ignoring him, Gracia stepped into her slippers. “I'll make some hot chocolate.”
When she made to step past him, he stopped her with a kiss. “You're the best.”
With a sweet smile, she patted him on the cheek. “I know.”
And so, while Gracia headed to the kitchen, Maes opened the front door and stepped outside. Belatedly, he realized just how cold it was and regretted going outside in bare feet with nothing but his teddy bear-printed pajamas between him and the chill night air.
Ed was just on the other side of the fence now, frozen in place like a rabbit about to bolt. Maes couldn't read his expression from this distance in the dark. Raising a hand in welcome, he called out, “Are you just going to keep walking by my house, or are you going to come in?”
Slowly, dragging his feet the whole way, Ed opened the gate and slouched his way up to the door. “Sorry,” he mumbled. “Didn't mean to wake you up....”
“Never mind that,” Maes said, ushering him through the door. “Just get inside; it's freezing out there.”
Flipping on the lights to fill the room with a warm, cheery light, Maes guided Ed through to the living room and pushed on his shoulders to make him sit down on the couch. As Maes sat down beside him, he got a better look at the disheveled boy.
Huge circles under his eyes, like he hadn't slept in a week. Hollow cheeks, like he hadn't been eating right. His hair was tangled, not even held back in a ponytail. Instead of his usual brash confidence, Ed's shoulders slumped and he stared listlessly at the floor.
“Where's Al?” Maes asked. Best to start with the basics.
Ed shrugged. “With Winry.”
“Winry...oh, right, your girlfriend.” Maes waited for a reaction, but didn't get any. That concerned him more than anything yet. “They know you're here?”
Another shrug. “Went for a walk. Needed to clear my head.”
Maes nodded. Those boys had been through a lot lately, what with tracking down Barry the Chopper and also the whole Tucker situation. It made perfect sense that Ed wasn't his usual self. “Is it helping?”
Ed shook his head. A minute of silence passed while Maes waited for Ed to say more and Ed just stared at the floor.
Maybe he just needed more of an opening. “So how come you ended up on my doorstep tonight, Ed?” he asked softly. “It's a pretty long walk from your hotel. Did you...want to talk to me about something?”
“Yeah...no...I don't know.” Ed sighed, dropping his chin into his hand.
Maes's detective brain started whirring away as he looked at the slump of Ed's shoulders, the way he hung his head and didn't look Maes in the eye. Here he was, in the dead of night, clearly wanting comfort or at least a listening ear...and he wasn't with his brother or his childhood friend. Al and Winry were probably the two people he would normally turn to first for comfort and understanding, as they'd known each other their whole lives.
So why was Ed here, with a man he'd met just a couple months ago? What would Ed want to talk about that he wouldn't want to talk about with the two people who were closest to him?
Pushing his glasses up his nose, Maes asked quietly, “Is this about Nina?”
Ed jerked as if Maes had poked him with a fork, suddenly sitting up straight and staring at him with wide eyes. Maes's heart clenched. He's just a kid. He's twelve. And look at everything he's already been through....
“How'd you...?” Those golden eyes filled with tears and Ed hastily looked away, as if trying to hide behind his long bangs. But Maes could still see his chin trembling.
Maes put a hand on Ed's shoulder, and a choked sob escaped him. Ed pressed a fist to his mouth as if to stifle it, but Maes would have none of that. He slid across the couch and wrapped his arms around Ed, pulling him in close. “It's okay,” he murmured, patting Ed's back just like he always did with Elysia. “I've got you.”
Ed grabbed the back of Maes's shirt, his grip so strong but his sobs surprisingly weak, muffled in Maes's shoulder. Strange. Elysia's tiny hands were much weaker, but her cries were loud and piercing.
Maes felt the same desire well up in his heart—the desire to hold this child close forever and to never, never let go.
But Ed did let go. He pulled back, sniffling and rubbing his sleeve across his eyes with hasty, furtive movements, turning his face away as if embarrassed to have done something like that. But Maes kept an arm around his shoulders, and Ed didn't break his grip. If anything, even though he looked ashamed of his outburst, he leaned towards Maes, as if secretly longing to stay in his embrace.
So Maes settled close to Ed's side with his arm around him, an open invitation if Ed wanted more. “I know you've probably heard this so many times by now it's lost its meaning,” he said heavily, “but it wasn't your fault.”
“Yes, it was.” Ed's chin began to tremble again, but he clenched it and looked defiantly up at Maes through his tears. “I could've stopped him. I should've figured it out before he...he....”
“Hey,” Maes said, squeezing Ed's shoulder until he realized it was his metal shoulder and he wouldn't be able to feel it. “There's a lot of people who can say they should have done something. We all realize that, looking back. But you can't beat yourself up for it. We do our best with what we know at the time.”
Ed's mouth twisted into an ugly scowl. “Guess my best is just never enough, then. 'Cause I did my best...and I still failed her. Just like I always—“ He bit his lip, but that did nothing to stop big, fat tears from rolling down his cheeks.
“Hey, now.” Maes pulled Ed in close again, and Ed didn't protest. His shoulders shook with the force of his tears, miserable and broken. “Don't you go telling yourself that you've failed everyone. That's just not true.”
Ed made a garbled sound of protest, but it was muffled in his shirt, so Maes elected to ignore it.
“You're thinking about your mother, aren't you?” he said softly, rubbing Ed's back in circles. “Maybe I don't know the whole story, but one thing I know for certain is that she would never tell you that you failed her. I'm sure your mom wouldn't have wanted you to sacrifice what you did, trying to bring her back. But she would understand. Because she loved you. She knew that you did what you did because you were desperate, and you wanted to see her again.”
Edward drew a deep, shuddering breath, but didn't say anything, so Maes continued. “And I know for a fact that Al would never call you a failure for what you did for him. He looks up to you. He respects you. He's grateful for what you did, because it's kept you two together all this time. It's given you a second chance to make things right. The way he sees it, you saved his life.
“Now, you may not have been able to save Nina's life,” he murmured, absently stroking Ed's tangled hair, “but you brought so much joy to that little girl's life while she was still here. I could see it from the first time I laid eyes on her, you know. You were like a brother to her. And I know you tried your hardest to help her even after...what happened. She wasn't just a failed experiment to you, was she? She was still Nina.”
A little moan was the only response he got.
“Sometimes...there's nothing we can do. We can't prevent it, and we can't fix it. Unfortunately, that's the way life is sometimes. And I'm so sorry you've already had to learn this so many times.”
“It hurts,” Ed sobbed. “I-I don't want it to hurt!”
“I know.” Tears stung Maes's eyes, but all he could do was hold Ed close. “I know.”
Minutes passed in silence. Gradually, Ed's tears subsided into sniffles and shuddery, hiccuping breaths. Maes relaxed his embrace enough for Ed to sit back against the couch cushions, wiping the tears away. This time, he didn't look embarrassed. He seemed too worn out for any of that nonsense by now.
Gracia's timing was impeccable as always. She picked the perfect moment to walk out into the living room with a tray of steaming mugs and a plate of cookies. As soon as she set the tray down, before even serving the hot chocolate, she perched on the arm of the couch and pulled Ed into a hug, complete with kiss on the top of the head. Ed's cheeks tinged red, but he still lingered in her embrace as if reluctant to let her go.
Like any other twelve-year-old boy who'd been carrying a weight of grief and just needed loving parents to hold him and reassure him that everything would be all right. Maes had to bite his tongue to keep himself from announcing that they were adopting him and Al on the spot.
Just as Gracia got to her feet again, a baby's cry echoed down the stairs. Glancing at the clock, Gracia said, “It's time for Elysia's next feeding. Please make yourself at home, Edward. Maes can help you make up the couch if you want to stay the night.”
“Oh...that's okay,” Ed mumbled as she left.
“Here.” Maes passed him a mug of chocolate and positioned the plate of cookies within easy reach, snagging one for himself. After the emotional turmoil, he felt he could use a midnight snack too.
After a sip or two of the hot chocolate, Ed glanced up at Maes again. “Thanks.”
Maes smiled, his heart lifting to see the spark of something that had been missing in Ed's eyes before. “Anytime.”

I found one eating my roaches what do I do
handling your bdubs like that is not appropriate handling!! grabbing them like that in a pinch such as when they're eating something they're not supposed to is plenty fine, but holding them like this often can cause damage to their squishy bodies.
Tumblr media
creatures should be handled gently, they are very tiny and more afraid of you than you are of them. let your bdubs warm up to you and handle him! I recommend leaving food offerings so he recognizes you as friend, and stops eating the roaches.

While I know that I shouldn't apologize for this, I do feel like I'm being more inactive than I would've liked for myself even in these moments where I have free time before the training starts. Know that I love Dain to bits, always have and he's been the reason why I got into Genshin. I love his lore and everything that surrounds him. But many times it can get really dragging when the content in Genshin is lacking for the most part and for a character that has so little about him, the fact that there is so little content to go with as things stand worsens it.
It becomes even harder when there is a newer game that will barely make it to a year soon to compare it with. And no, I won't get into the "Genshin would never" because I find that stupid and it's not the case. But it's the gameplay, the storytelling and a whole list of things that I won't bother to write up here that I discussed in private with friends. As for what the current circumstances go, it's hard to think that H.YV is taking it seriously with this game when, as soon as they finish the main arc of the newest nation, we're jumping from one festival to the next without little regard of the aftermath of the current nation after everything it went through. I don't want Genshin to get suddenly gore-y or anything of the story, but it does get sad when this game story becomes interesting when it gets dark. It has many reasons to be and a select amount of antagonists to make it interesting if it weren't... because they make it laughable at this point, so not-threatening or they pull redeeming qualities out of their behind for marketing purposes. There are many interesting things that could be done in Genshin both from the storytelling and gameplay perspectives, but eventually it's all reduced to this go-happy thing that in essence, feels so forced.
To conclude with this ramble, I just wanted to say that I've been feeling demotivated and it's showing to me, I can't imagine what it'll be to you. Know that I won't stop writing Dain, he's been the muse I've been the most invested in years and it'll continue to stay that way. It's just that... it's being hard in my end and that I'm trying my best to get out of this by thinking new things to address with him. All in all, I hope that the team responsible for Genshin will get their poop together soon and get serious with it.

(AO3 - prev)
After discussing the details of being the 'royal stunt double' for a little while, Bigb was dismissed by king Ren, who clarified that he really meant it this time. So he left the throne room and descended down a narrow spiral staircase all the way to the ground. He was about to head outside, when he noticed an odd sound, like someone pounding their fists against a wall repeatedly.
He traced the sound to a diorite wall to the right of the door. He approached the wall and then, hesitantly, called out.
“Hello?”
The pounding stopped. Faintly, a voice responded from the other side; Etho's voice. “Ren? Is that you?”
“No, I'm- uh. Yeah. I'm totally Ren. Etho, is that you?”
“E- what? No, I'm Joel. Ren, do you see any buttons where you are?”
“Buttons?” Bigb was fairly certain he did hear Etho's voice, but then again, he looked like Ren now. Maybe the same thing had happened to 'Joel'. “Nope. No buttons here. Why?”
“Well, I'm in this big dark room, and I can see that there's a piston door here, but I can't find any way to open it, so I thought maybe the way to open it was on your side? But I guess not, so-” he made a hysterical laughing sort of noise, which definitely sounded like something Joel would do- “well, that's fine!”
“Okay. Alright, don't worry, I can get you out of there,” Bigb replied. He scanned the room again. There weren't any buttons, but he did see an observer in the floor, with some candles on top of it. “There's an observer here. I can try and trigger it, see if that-”
“No! Dude, don't just trigger an observer, that's probably a trap!”
“I mean, it sounds to me like you're already trapped. I don't think we have much to lose.”
“Trapped?” Joel made another noise. “I'm not trapped at all! I could easily break out of here, it's just very dark, and I don't have a blumming pickaxe in my inventory, and, well, a god of the sky just isn't supposed to be in a dungeon like this, and-”
This was getting out of hand. “I'm triggering the observer,” Bigb said.
“DON'T YOU DARE-”
Bigb reached down and grabbed one of the candles standing on the observer. It clicked.
Behind him, pistons retracted, and then someone collided with him.
Joel breathed out sharply, sounding relieved. He made no attempt to move away from Bigb, so Bigb just awkwardly hugged him instead. I sure am getting personal with these guys today, he thought. Strangely enough, he didn't recognise Joel's features at all. He had pale skin, and white hair, and a scar over his eye-
No, wait. He recognised that scar. And the top half of his face. And the piece of dark blue fabric that was now hanging around Joel's neck.
Joel finally pulled back. “I wasn't scared or anything, you know. If you th-”
“Dude, your mask!” Bigb interrupted him.
“My mask? You mean this thing? I don't- wait.” Joel looked at the mask he had pulled down, then at the rest of his outfit-- Etho's outfit. He tapped on his face around the scarred eye. “Oh. Well, I guess that explains where my depth perception went...”
Bigb continued to stare at his- at Etho's mouth. “This is surreal. I feel like I just walked in on somebody naked.”
Joel let out a hum. He sure was making a lot of noises today. “Then- if I look like Etho but am actually Joel, does that mean you're actually Bigb?”
“Yeah.” Bigb nodded.
Joel nodded too. “I thought you didn't sound like Ren.” Then he pulled the mask back over his face and said: “Well... Bigb. Can we agree to forget about, just... this whole encounter?”
Bigb chuckled. “Sure. I can do that.”
“Sweet. Thanks,” Joel replied, then opened the door-- a regular door-- and went outside. About three seconds later, he came back and asked: “By the way, where the heck are we?”
“I have no idea.”
---
Gem opened her eyes, and cracked her knuckles. Both other members of the soup group were away, doing some sort of hardcore challenge, which meant she had a few hours to work on her base with no distractions-
Oh, nevermind. The player list showed that Impulse had already arrived, and a bunch of the other participants too. That was strange. The game was supposed to last around 24 hours, maybe more-- and 17 hours was not 'around 24', in Gem's opinion.
“Well, I guess that's what happens when you trust Grian to estimate a time,” Gem said, and sighed. “Goodbye, productivity.” Then she solemnly grabbed a rocked and flew into the sky.
Impulse wasn't in his own base, which meant he was probably at the shopping district. Flying in that direction, she found him soon enough- about halfway to spawn, in a screaming match with Bdubs for some reason.
“...whole time, I was thinking, 'I can't wait to be back so I'll be taller than Impulse again', and now this has happened!” Impulse shouted as she approached the two of them.
“Well what do you want me to do about it? I didn't cause this!” Bdubs shouted back.
“Impulse!” Gem yelled, interrupting the argument. Both of them jumped as she landed on the ground.
“Hi Gem!” they both said, almost in unison.
“Guys, what's happening? Do I need to slay somebody?”
“Th- no, no, that won't be necessary,” Impulse said. He didn't quite sound like himself.
“Good. Impulse, what were you even saying, about being taller than... yourself?”
“Uh- okay, that does sound weird, but it makes sense, I promise,” Impulse replied. “You see... hm. How do I put this...”
“Oh, Pearl's just gotten back,” Bdubs interrupted, looking at his chat.
“Pearl's gotten back... or... somebody else?” Impulse replied.
“Yeah. We should probably go greet... them.”
They had yet to explain anything. Impulse and Bdubs took off flying, and Gem followed them. “Okay, would somebody explain what the heck is going on?” she asked as she caught up.
“Yeah, we probably should,” Impulse replied. He slowed down, and for some reason stuck his hand out towards her. “Hi. I'm Bdubs. Nice to meet you.”
“Wha-” Gem stopped herself, and sighed. “Okay, first of all, if you're Bdubs then we've already met, so there's no point introducing yourself again. Second of all, I just left my larping world, so I'd appreciate if you didn't-”
“We're not larping!” 'Bdubs' yelled. Admittedly, his tone of voice did sound a lot like Bdubs'. Ahead, the real Bdubs-- was that Impulse now?-- landed in front of Pearl.
“Hi. How you feeling?” he said to her. Yep, that sounded like Impulse.
“Very confused,” Pearl responded in a Scottish accent. “I don't know where I am, I wasn't expecting to see you again- no offense- and I have the body of-”
“Of Pearl. Yeah.” Bdubs nodded. “Welcome to the club, Scott.”
“Scott?” Gem repeated.
“Gem!” Pearl- no, Scott- turned to her. “Can I have a word with you, privately?”
The two of them walked away from Impulse and Bdubs. Scott grabbed Gem's shoulder and whispered: “Where are we? What is this place?”
“This is Hermitcraft. I live here. Welcome!”
“You... live here? Don't you live in Dawn?” Scott said, confirming Gem's suspicions: not only was this the same Scott she knew, but he was still acting in character.
Gem replied: “Well, I live here too.”
“Okay,” he replied, looking up and around at the fantastical landscape Pearl had terraformed. “Do you know how I can get back to Chromia from here?”
Gem hummed. Scott wasn't whitelisted to Hermitcraft, so the only way he could be here is if he got Pearl's permissions as well, but she wasn't whitelisted to Empires. “I'm not sure you can.”
“I- excuse me? I can't just stay here, I have a responsibility to my empire! As do you, by the way!” Scott said, looking at Gem sternly. Classic Scott; he wouldn't break character if his life depended on it. Also, he was taller than Gem now, which she did not like.
“Oh, relax, I'm sure it'll be fine. Also, I can go over to Dawn whenever I like. I was just there!”
“Oh.” Scott looked down, then at Gem again. “In that case, can you also keep an eye on Chromia when you return? As a favor?”
Gem sighed. “Yeah, okay,” she said. “I can do that.”
As if she didn't have enough to do already.

[A video is attached, the camera is facing Xichen and Roark in Oreburgh Gym. A voice can be heard, presumably from the person holding the camera.
"Is this thing working?" The camera is flipped and Jingyi's face is right in front of the screen. "Ah! Yup ok I think so!"
The camera turns around again. "You guys can start now! Oh, and thanks for letting me film."
Roark waves a hand and replies, "It's no problem. Let me just start from the beginning again." He clears his throat and says, "Welcome! This is the Oreburgh Pokémon Gym! I'm Roark, the Gym Leader! I'm but one Trainer who decided to walk proudly with Rock-type Pokémon! As the Gym Leader, I need to see your potential as a Trainer. And, I'll need to see the toughness of the Pokémon that battle with you!" When he finishes, Roark sends out his Geodude, and Xichen lets out Shuoyue.
"Shuoyue, Bubble." His voice is calm, and as soon as the stream of bubbles clear, the Geodude has already fallen, and is returned to its Pokéball.
"Wow, you seem to have type matchups down! And a critical hit too... Onix, go!" Roark says as he tosses another Pokéball. "Quick, Rock Throw!"
The move hits Shuoyue, but he seems mostly unaffected.
"Bubble again," Xichen says, and once again the opposing Pokémon goes down.
Roark chuckles a little, "I think I'm outmatched here... You really trained quite a lot, didn't you? You already have a Prinplup! What did you say his name was? Shu.. Shuoyue?"
Xichen just nods as Roark sends in his last Pokémon, Cranidos. "Keep using Bubble." This time, the Cranidos growls as it gets back up again.
"That's it! Now, Headbutt!" Shuoyue staggers a bit, but is still standing. "We're not giving up yet!" Roark shouts and sprays a potion on Cranidos, who straightens. "Keep using Headbutt!"
This time, Shuoyue flinches, and Cranidos manages to get another Headbutt in. The Prinplup starts to look a bit worse now, but still uses Bubble again.
And as the two Pokémon before it, Cranidos falls and is returned. The moment the red light disappears, Jingyi starts clapping, and the camera shakes rather violently, but it's still possible to see Xichen bowing to Roark.
The Gym Leader is laughing as he says, "I admit, I don't think I had much of a chance there, but well done nonetheless! Here's your official Pokémon League Coal Badge," and he gives a tiny sparkling badge to Xichen, who bows again.
"It was a pleasure to battle you, Gym Leader Roark." The video ends.]

{{ eeee you better post pictures of the snek when it comes !!! >:3!!
Tumblr media
Oh, I'm planning on it! I've had corn snakes in the past and they were so much fun to take care of but I'm leaning really heavily towards a ball python if possible. They're a little slower and very, very chonk which would be adorable. Going to wait until it gets a little warmer first as I'd need to get a train there but sometime soon you'll see the new baby!

so a lil quick psa is in order, i feel. starting off, this might be a little tmi? but plainly speaking, my hormones sometimes make my time of the month very challenging emotionally and mentally. i haven't experienced this in quite a while, and i wish i knew what changed or if it's just a random thing i have no control over, but i have no idea sadly! all i know is that i become very prone to bad mood drops and sensitivity, so if i'm extra quiet or inactive, i apologize; i'm just trying to handle myself gently and avoid making this all worse.
with all of that said, thank you for being patient with me <3 it really does mean a lot that y'all put up with my snail-like pace!

Lantern Rite leaks (I know these are just things so far, etc. usual):
Tumblr media
Listen, listen, listen, I've been so highly anticipating Lantern Rite 2024 since it ended this year (it was my first one, it was amazing; one of the reasons why Liyue will always rate so very highly for me) and I'll be thrilled with whatever it is that we get, but!!! Light negative nancy incoming (understandably so, I think), forgive me, stop reading if you'd prefer: no Ningguang, no Beidou, No Madame Ping?? NO YELAN at all??! (Me: listen, I'll be happy to just see her, doesn't even need to speak, I will never expect more, it's perfectly IC)
Edit: Ok ok, we're better. I got so frustrated at the '19' that I missed the 66. But also, IS THIS STILL LANTERN RITE OR IS THIS CHENYU VALE?

okay I thought about the similarities between jfm and jc's unrequited crushes who prefer their 'servant's' company to their own and it looped around from being tragic to being really funny again. jc pined after wq so clumsily and unsuccessfully with the stupid fucking comb she didn't care about because SHE AND HER FAMILY WERE POLITICAL TARGETS AT THE TIME and HE DIDN'T EVEN KNOW HER AT ALL and she 100% always preferred the company of wwx, who was genuinely fun to be around, as intelligent and selfless as she was, understood and respected the delicate political position she was in, treated her like an individual, knew what was important to her, helped her family, and sacrificed everything for her safety. wq literally would rather have lived a doomed life in a starving refugee camp with wwx and her family than accept a marriage proposal from jc, jc wq shippers how does it feel to be fucking clowns
#you can say that decision was just for her family. but you could tell how much she loved wwx too and how little she cared about jc#he sucks to be around and whoever is in his life just needs to be someone who's inexplicably into that and it is NOT wq#she has her own shit she can't be babying him and soothing his self-esteem issues!!! the cultivation world had her family in a death camp#like WHAT would be the appeal here???? 'he cares about his family like she does' actually he publicly denounced his brother who is her#really good friend so...????? no?????? do they think she thinks he's hot??? isn't that a little superficial???#his sarcasm and prickliness don't gel with her sincerity and guardedness. she wouldn't like his joking roughhousing and she's more mature#than all that anyway....also I can't think of a single time he even looked wen ning's way pre-ss and wn is THE most important person to her#and its actually disgustingly ooc to see how jc wq shippers just act like he doesn't exist. bc what they can't pretend he'd get along with#wn effectively? but that's wen ning!!!! how is she married to someone who doesn't care about him or even hates him!#WHERE'S THAT POST LIKE#jc: lady wen may I rub thine feet? feed you grapes?#wq: uhhhh#wwx: hey wq!#wq: wei wuxian! *they do a 15 step handshake*#jc: okay guys I'll just be uhh. over here#wwx and wq: laughing together#UGH she was so great. travesty of the century that she died like that for the emotional development of a male character!!!#I really do like wq tho I don't really know what to say about her. she was a solemn character who knew her ending far before anyone else di#and didn't fight it for her own sake only for her family's#I just hope she was able to be at peace in the end. it seems so cruel that she was ripped away from the only person she truly wanted#to be with forever#ALSO her entire thing is repaying debts!!! which he categorically FAILED to do!!! she wouldn't respect that or find it admirable/attractive#he probably looked like a fucking impotent self-centered coward. which he WAS! SHE SAVED HIS LIFE!!!!#cql txp
