i'm seeing people commenting on this new toji art as if it symbolises gege placed toji in heaven even after everything he did and i know it's mostly a joke but i feel like this is actually an interesting thing to talk about. as we all know, jujutsu kaisen is a heavily buddhist inspired story. having in account all the situations gege has made use of this element, which i will add here:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(the first two are illustrations for chapters 89 and 90 of the manga, before gojo and kenjaku died, and the latter for chapter 180)
i think it's safe to say halos aren't used within the manga to be associated with the christian connotation (except for hana, even though her holiness and the one she serves also aren't traditionally christian by context clues we had so far). halos in buddhist art are actually used to depict enlightened beings, which correlates a lot more to toji than whatever christian symbol ever could. however, i don't think it's clear if gege has used halos in jjk with this specific meaning in mind. so far only gojo, kenjaku/geto and rika have been drawn with halos over their heads, as shown above, despite not being the only dead characters. additionally, all their halos are drawn different, taking shape of things relevant to them (gojo has the infinity sign; rika has a flower crown which can be associated with marriage; and, kenjaku has two halos, one within the other, possibly symbolising him residing inside geto). this could relate to toji as he's the only one with a simple halo, and also the only one within those four that is deprived of cursed energy. in my view, this new toji illustration doesn't mean gege sees him as a saintly figure or someone who would go to heaven - that's also why gojo and nanami are shown their own versions of the afterlife at the brink of death - but, most likely, that gege depicts him as a character that has reached an unparalleled understanding of his own existence and transcended death.

I'm not trying to rain on anyone's parade and I'm glad to see everyone excited by Seb's interview... But maybe try to not repost the full pages of the Attitude article? Read it on the webpage directly, generate traffic to the website etc. It lets the people in charge see that there is an interest in Seb/LGBTQ+ issues/motorsport etc. and that we want more of it.
Anyways, direct link to the full interview :)

I have a couple questions
1: who gets to call you kacchan?
2: what’s your hero name?
4: what do you think about people shipping you with deku?
1. Nobody, if you're just a stranger passing by and don't know any better, that's fine. I'm a fictive though, not my source, so the nickname is kind of a joke I make occasionally. If I know you and you call me Kacchan (in a non-joking sense) I might cringe a bit.
2. I've got no hero name, but ground zero always sounded cool.
3. People can ship my source with whomever, I don't mind, as long as you're not fucking mauling one another over it (shipwars). Personally, I'm not romantically active.

If I may be weird and petty for a moment, I don't get AUs where Martin is the Archivist when Melanie and Sasha are right there?? I mean I get why: roleswaps are popular AUs and martin is a popular character. And maybe its just my specific headcanons re: archivist requirements but I feel like the other two would be so much better?
Yes, Martin reads statements and yes, he gets marked, but I really don't think those are the Only Requirements to do the big ritual? Cause at that point Elias could've chosen any web-marked dude off the street, especially if they have the mark of another entity as well already.
Melanie and Sasha shared several important traits with Jon, most notably a burning curiosity, a willingness to put themselves in trouble for information, and (in Melanie's case (and Sasha's too, arguably) an ability to antagonize extremely dangerous fear avatars. Sasha's whole statement is her putting herself in a dangerous situation without telling anyone or acquiring any help (remind you of any main characters?) and running face first into supernatural dangers (sometimes to protect her friends, sometimes out of curiosity). Useful for collecting marks, but also useful for collecting information and developing her own powers as the Archivist. Considering her seemingly unrepentant willingness to look through her friends' and coworkers' personal files via accessing their accounts, I'd argue that her curiosity and boundary crossing could easily get stronger when investigating supernatural entities. Obviously, this never happened because of how early on she died, but I think you could make a strong case for Sasha's strong curiosity making some avatars incredibly mad. Not to mention how incredibly Beholding it is of her. None of this is criticism btw, I think Sasha should have access to whatever personal info she wants and I love it when characters are so obviously Eye-aligned. I know "Sasha wasn't promoted because she'd solve all the problems and find a way to kill Jonah" is also a popular headcanon but please think for a MOMENT about her appearances in podcast. There weren't many, but there's a very obvious through-line in almost all of them. She's curious, she takes risks in the face of the supernatural, she wants to Know. It's literally what caused the circumstances of her statement. Those traits are arguably the ones that got her KILLED. I'm sorry this went off on a tangent. I just love Sasha very much and I'm constantly filled with Thoughts of Sasha.
Melanie also has curiosity about the supernatural AND a much more obviously antagonistic personality!! Her first appearance is being a total asshole to Jon, mocking him, the place he works at, the equipment they use, and what they do. But she also dedicated basically her entire career into uncovering the supernatural? She ran a Youtube channel about it, and when she discovered that everyone was sticking to the same "safe" sites, she started looking off the beaten path for the real stuff. And she found it! She went looking for ghosts of war and violence and even without access to statements, probably working alone and sifting through bunk on the internet, she found them! She got stabbed by a ghost and instead of trying to avoid ghosts in the future, she decided to look for more violent ghosts. The slaughter tendencies might be a drawback for her becoming the Archivist, yes, but by that point Jon had already survived multiple marks and was developing his powers. If he failed by that point, Elias might've wanted an Archivist who'd be better able to defend themselves. By S4 Melanie was probably far enough gone to the Slaughter (and hated the Eye enough) that she was probably off the table as a candidate. By that point, however, Jon was expected to fully Become and only needed a few more marks.
I understand that Sasha was approved for a transfer to the Archives because Elias let Jon choose who take with him and Jon chose Sasha. And Melanie was almost certainly chosen to keep Jon in close proximity of a Slaughter-aligned person who'd be likely to mark him but unlikely to kill him. But I think that they served a secondary purpose of being backup Archivists in case something happened to Jon.
Obviously this is more headcanon than theory (not to mention it relies on other headcanons to fully stand) but I'm very fond of it. I guess I think that, even if Elias wasn't really looking for another Archivist when Jon seems like the perfect candidate in every way (and I'm not saying this JUST because I love him), I think that if something did happen to Jon, they'd be Elias' next candidates.

i am staring SO HARD rn i love alien aus and i would love to hear more about yours if you want to share ;w;
World-wise, I'm going back-and-forth between a more "Feral/Genuinely Alien" take on the characters, versus a "Earth-adjacent" take where it really is more like WALL-E: the planet was once a hub for entertainment, maybe even the entirety of the FNAF cast lived there under some sort of alien conglomerate running the "company" of Faz Ent, but something happened and despite trying to rebuild itself several times over, they eventually just gave up and left the inhabitants to fend for themselves.
I might even combine that with an "Alien Stage" take, where the "entertainers" (alien-verse animatronics) are other alien species captured from various planets and brought to the one planet, forced to entertain species from all over the galaxy, until the same ruin happens and they're left to deal with the fallout all by themselves.
Uncertain of Reader's fit atm, possibly part of a crew testing the barriers of humanity's reach into space. Something happens to the ship (I have a few ideas for this too) and they end up crash landing on the "abandoned" planet, without any means to contact their own world, nor any knowledge of where they've landed. Hijinks ensue.
Also because the idea of "alien" soda/pizza is so funny to me. You take a sip of what looks like battery acid, only to realize that while it might burn like battery acid, it tastes more like sour green apple.
Hell yeah.

I'm sorry, I'm an absolute idiot and a fool, why is the gay wrongs poll being separated into major and minor polls? What is this exactly supposed to mean?
The reason it has 2 brackets instead of one is popularity/number of submissions- less popular media and couples/ships with less submissions are mostly* in the minor bracket, couples/ships from more mainstream media/with more submissions got sorted into the major bracket.
*I made some exceptions for couples/ships with 2 submissions after realising those submissions are very popular and from more mainstream media. For example, Nadja and Laszlo from WWDITS are in the major bracket despite only having 2 submissions because WWDITS is popular + they're main characters.

Hi, wrt your post from the 35th bday issue where John gets called the f slur, could you clarify what you mean by saying "it could be either or"?
Surely he is called the f slur because he is percieved as queer, and that he is percieved that way because he isn't interested in sleeping with the woman.
YEAH, that’s what i mean by that, from the woman’s perspective.
what i intended to mean is more fans use him being called the f slur in that scenario as essentially the big kick-off of his canon bisexuality, when it’s more cemented later on and that’s when it’s more canon by john smith, though i don’t think constantine being perceived as straight was ever intended.
also, the term is a lot more common back then in a linguistics stand point, and people kind of just threw it around when they were offended regardless- like when a few years back ( and technically, still now, i suppose, though it’s not as common ) when guys on games would call people the f slur when they were frustrated with them. or, hell, it’s something i was called ( and various other slurs towards lesbians ) because i didn’t like playing with “girl” toys when i was younger and because my brother didn’t like that i played “boy” games like mortal kombat or found an interest in comic books, but it didn’t necessarily mean i was queer ( though a few years later, i know i am ). it was just something used because i defied from the norm and what was expected of me. so when i saw this and thought back to my own experiences, i thought “well, there’s a chance he’s not being slurred because she thinks he’s genuinely queer, but instead because he did something that wasn’t the norm and that she wouldn’t like.” if this makes any sense.
which is why i also go on to add the “gay earring” part of the post- if she had seen that, which is entirely possible but we don’t know for sure, then it could suggest that he’s being genuinely slurred because of his queer identity. however, he isn’t confirmed bisexual until later on in the series ( exact issue i am not entirely sure, but it’s definitely not this early on ). regardless, i say people can perceive it as either or because of the fact she might not be targeting his queerness and instead just in general being like “fuck this guy”. it’s a sort of giving both sides of the argument, and just how loose the term was at that time period. like people were just using the slur left and right until nowadays, and even now, some people still do. but now especially it’s targeted toward our community.
basically continuity stuff. we don’t know if they included it to hint at john’s bisexuality, or if they just added it because it was something to say at the time. personally, i think it could be the former if i were to take an actual stance on the argument because i don’t think john was ever intended to be a straight guy, but again, it could be perceived as either or. there are plenty of instances of john being targeted by homophobia, though- like in the horrorist.

Why are you still here if your bf left? Wouldn’t it be best if you both deleted your blogs?
My blog is my outlet in a sense. I still have it because it helps me express the more sensual side of myself that I have trouble expressing. My blog has become a safe space for me to do so without any judgement. My boyfriend has been very supportive of this 😊 I don’t quite understand why I would need to leave just because he did. I have taken a few lengthy breaks from my blog. So, I could see myself deleting my blog in the future if that’s what I wanted.

semi-here for sweethearts spoilers in ask
so, are the rest of your characters the same 'species', so to speak, just with different animal features? or do pathospires just view all non-pathospires as food? or are both true?
I want to try and explain this in terms of like, hierarchies?
So like, on Earth, we are all Earthlings. If you were from Mars, you'd be a Martian.
Over in their world, they are Noisrevians.
Then, from there, they are all different animals! So Mary might be a Manta Ray and Twyla might be an Owl and Jaxter might be an Arctic Fox, but they are all classified as "Noisrevian"
Pathospires are the same, they are "Noisrevian", but they aren't animal-based like many of the other characters featured. And still, they view all non-pathospires as food.

Hi, I love the quote from your bio. I know you've written before criticising organised religion so I hope you don't mind me asking, r U religious at all?
I'm not religious because I don't believe in or pray to any sort of higher power (or follow any sort of code prescribed by a religion). However, I do find religion extremely fascinating and love learning about different religious traditions throughout time, the deities worshipped by different groups of people, how beliefs spread, how it brings people together and can create a sense of community, etc.
I also love to see/read/listen to the artwork that is borne out of religious belief (architecture, symbols, scripture, etc.) Something about that devotion is inspiring.
I think it's one way to learn more about the human condition.

you did big sin here.
Why didn't you include third eye in the polls? Dude is into gay cannibalism—
You're right and I actually did consider adding Taishakuten but didn't for two reasons:
1) I need number of candidates to be power of 2. Meaning either 16 or 32 and where would I find another 15 kinksters then?
2) I considered putting him instead of Karen or Miyuki-chan but didn't cuz:
-Miyuki-chan literally gets molested 90% of her screen time and is definition of disaster lesbian. I can hear that "kyaaaa!! >\\\<" from miles away
- Karen is a catholic sex worker that goes around in lingerie and sexy clothing and is very flirtatious and so confident in her sexuality yet such a kind and compassionate soul 🥺
I have no doubts Taishakuten is into very fucked up stuff considering he did have sexual relationship with Ashura ou (and canon cannibalism yes) but there were barely any scenes that show their relationship. Hence I prioritized kinkiness and horniness shown in canon over what was probably happening behind the scenes when we weren't shown too many clues

Hey, uh, it's been *checks calendar* 10 months? Are you planning on coming back to this at all?
... This is actually kinda tough to answer. on the one hand, i absolutely do want to continue this, i have ideas for this au i want to get out, but on the other hand, i've been making my own Link designs that would be separate from linked universe, and it's starting to feel... kinda weird to have an au for linked universe while trying to make my own links-meet au?
since this is an au, some ideas (and especially headcanons) that would have appeared would pretty much transfer from my interpretation of the linked universe links to my own. so while i do want to do a modern au, i'm not really sure if i should continue it using linked universe links?
I dunno... this is probably not as big of a deal as im making it. I really would like to continue this au, but honestly might just end up changing it to a modern au of my own links. i just feel strange using linked universe links while im creating my own link designs, y'know?
so basically... yes, i do want to continue making this au. i just don't know if i should make it while also making my own links-meet au. I know that might be a bummer to folks who came for modern linked universe specifically, and i'm sorry if i do switch it up. I just feel too weird to continue it right now.

Do you have any advice for learning digital art?
HAVE FUN! For the love of god have fun. I know this sounds generic and asinine but listen. I took art instruction from the ages of 5 to 21. I got into art school, I’ve done 3 hour studio classes where I had to draw a fucking towel, fiber by fiber. I feel like the attitude of teaching yourself new mediums is expected to be that disciplined, but I’m here to say that it’s not. You learn and develop from joy, imagination, and satisfaction. Teaching myself digital art meant that I didn’t have a professor or instructor judging my art, it was up to me to make every decision and find my own inspiration. That’s why I dabble in niche things….fashion sketches, art nouveau, Klimt….it all brings me joy. So aside from the actual technique, developing self motivation is the real key to growing as an artist.
To develop technique, I’d say watch a lot of those short videos on Instagram, bc at the very least you’ll pick up brush mechanics. Keep a good Pinterest board of images you like. And don’t be afraid to download brushes! I use Procreate and it’s VERY easy to find new brushes. Right now I’m using a chalk set that’s rlly fun and interesting!
