SO, I saw @theminecraftbee’s Joe Hills+Convex au stuff and my brain went a little wild, so here’s the results of that! You can also find this fic on my AO3! (I am sorry that there is no dialogue, it is my one weakness, and I cannot write it for the life of me </3) (Edit March 30th, 2023: I said on ao3 that I would get chapter 2 out before last weekend but I got so busy but I’m still working on it!)

Now Joe hadn’t intentionally planned to befriend two fey, it just sort of happened. It was a whirlwind of events after getting off of work one night. He had planned to simply go home, but it seemed the universe had other plans. 

There was someone following him, it wasn’t the first time, and probably wouldn’t be the last. His job was decent, sure, but it wasn’t enough to pay off the debt to the collector that was actively following him. He knew the city well enough, likely much better than the other, trusting that he would be able to find his way home from wherever he was going to end up.

What Joe didn’t account for was stepping into a fair circle. In his defense he did have more important things on his mind. The outskirts of the city did have some plant life, but last time he had gotten out this far, it didn’t seem nearly this vibrant, or overgrown for that matter. 

He decided that this was far enough out, he didn’t see any sign of the debt collector anymore, so he should be good to head home. Something felt off though. Despite shaking off the man, Joe had the intense feeling of being watched, and that’s where it really began.

Joe had very unluckily caught the eye of two fey, and thus the hunt began. He didn’t know this area nearly as well as he would have hoped, but hey! It’s not everyday you get chased through the feywilds, so he had that going for him at least. 

While at first it seemed like he was just in a constant loop, passing by the same place over and over, there were small things he noticed. Things that broke the illusion that it was a perfect loop. It took a while, or was it only a few minutes? The time flow here was strange, and Joe didn’t want to think too deeply into the implications of what it might be like once he got back, he couldn’t have been gone for that long. 

Thankfully he made it out, stepping through the ring again once he found it. He looked down at his watch, while he didn’t know when he entered the circle, he knew when he got off work, and that, according to his watch, was an hour ago. He gave a sigh and began his walk home.

Now I'm curious about something 🤔 Reblog this and put in the tags or comments what ideas or concepts did you scrap for your OC's lore/backstory.

I know an OC's background isn't always going to be consistent or concrete and that's fine! But do you ever have ideas that you either A) didn't have time to work on, B) found too complex to incorporate into their lore, or C) feel like it just didn't fit in based on the standards of whatever universe (canon or original) your OC is in? Or perhaps a secret fourth option, I dunno!

#Hehe I'll start ofc beware the tags are lengthy and plenty hehehe #But as far as I remember I had a bunch of convoluted ideas for Madison's background #The most notable one being that she was an android who had a human soul trapped inside her and was such when she came into the events of SDC #Died at a very young age from an accident that had her in the hospital but her father managed to somehow scrounge up the core of her soul #Said soul was then booted up into an empty android which then became sentient #BUT limited in its physical features since it was the 70-80s and that her father worked in some hidden department in the government #Her father brought 'her' home and her mother grew suspicious of how different her daughter has been acting- #-Unaware that her body is actually gone and all that is left of her is her soul and memories #I was also going to incorporate some concept of a time loop but like a long loop if it makes sense? #Like a week loop of how the 'android' Madison is brought home and her mother and brother are suspicious #Said mother and brother are horrified knowing that she is no longer who she was because all that she *is* left is her soul... #am i making sense SJDKKSKDKS probably not but the huge inspiration for this idea comes from the indie game Mothered which i LOVED #you should defo try watching an LP of it!! #The plot revolves around the MC's soul and her family and the terrible but sad fate that the mother has to go through- #-to keep seeing her daughter be forced into the vessel of an android and live with them #even when they know that their daughter will never be the same again #I still kept the aspect of angst within the family but translated it through a more digestible concept #(at least I hope it is when I share more of it with posts in the future ( ´Д｀)=3) #I also wanted to use aspects of amnesia where Madison gets complacent into living with her mother as an android- #-bc as soon as she finds out that she is no longer who she is the system inside the android tries to erase said memories #And that she'll only regain them when she finds that her biological name isn't Madison but is actually Rhonda #NDKDKSKD LIKE THATS A WEIRD EXPLANATION where I got more of that inspo from a song by The Scary Jokes but eh!! #The amnesia and soul explanation plot just doesn't work for me! #ALSO i got inspired by the jojo fangame 7SU and wanted to incorporate the concept of the time loop too- #-with how in one universe we get the canon ending and in another universe after pucci resets the world #so Madison have more knowledge on what's going to happen to the crusaders #and manages to save all or most of them #Too convoluted and honestly not as fun to think about if anything it stays as a fun scrapped idea #Luckily i figured out a way to make it somewhat easier to achieve that 'everyone lives-no one dies' scenario in my lore now wahoo 🕺💃 #sorry for the typos and grammar errors just correct them in your head lolol

klay’s response to draymond’s habit of getting ejected lol… something i will never get over lol sorry it’s just. draymond tried to make a joke about it but you can also tell it clearly meant a lot to him— whatever klay’s answer was going to be. to really understand klay’s stance/how it affects klay personally.

and klay answered with so much gentleness AND firmness; it’s so interesting the way klay expresses his thoughts in general but specifically his answer to draymond’s question.. it was like there were no right words to properly express his emotions but at the same time he articulated his response so well and with SO much sincerity. “when you’re not out there a piece of us is gone… you’re the heartbeat of this team… we need you we love you.”

and going along with the whole theme of nostalgia that was apparent in this podcast, where klay says after going through so much together— the three of them— climbing up the mountain, reaching the top, and falling down to their lowest, climbing up again, and fighting to stay in the mix, you can tell it means so so much to klay to go through all of this: his whole career, with the two by his side. how he feels anything is possible with them by his side. how many times this year has he said as long as he has steph and draymond by his side he will always believe in this team and what they can do?

so interesting how people never seem to understand klay and say they have no idea how he really feels when he has always been open to the things that matter to him most.. 🥹

This is going to be an unpopular post probably, hate post even, according to some of you. Yes I am a hater now.

Spoilers, kinda, for the Mandalorian season 3.

I kind of disliked the first episode of the new season. There I said it.

Alright, it is the first episode and sets the tone and story for the rest of the season. But after knowing the other two first episodes, this one falls flat, in. my. opinion. Remember that before you come for me.

And by that I mean the story, the dialogue, the setting, the colors, the cgi … it all feels so … “disneyfied”.

I know mando was always about side quests, and how that plot leads to another, but this episode had like no depth? “Oh I have to go there to get that? Alright!”. Also, I’m sorry, but the cliche catchphrases “Never trust a pirate” made my eyes roll. And I know we love fan service, trust me I do too, but I can’t hear “This is the way” anymore.

I know it’s a “kids show”, and the mouse tries to make merch off of everything, but knowing how good season one and two were, I have to say I am disappointed. Still gonna watch the whole season though.

even if they get less summer content, arknights' main cosmetics lineups always being 3-4 new skins, and one of them is always a guy operator is very good consistent fanservice for menlikers

#i thought i don't really care that much about british catboy. but stainless summer skin is cute #the operator gender ratio is already 1/3 skewed towards girlies but having consistent balance with playable operators is really good #whereas. in fgo there's huge discrepancy between servant genders in different rarities (aka barely any low rarity girls) and general content #i feel like modern gacha games have realised that you can get dedicated menliker-players if they're consistent in their content #even if the games generally cater towards girlenjoyers; consistent content of men can open up your game to a new demographic #(ie neural cloud and starrail but also g*nshin in a way) which really made fgos '3 men in a year' hit really hard to the playerbase #fate has been a pretty equal media with it's viewers and it's a shame a gacha can ruin people's expectations and perceptions of the series #i hope fgo does better but i have my doubts. i hope we get more original fate media before fgo does more damage to type-moons image
