I have to disagree with the sentiment that Show Joel is too weak because he wasn’t slashing his way through infected to protect Ellie like in the game. I mean, is he as physically strong as Game Joel? Obviously not, because, as you said, it wouldn’t be very realistic in a live-action series to have him doing stuff like that. Show Joel may not be an indestructible force of nature, but he’s definitely still pretty damn capable, and I think giving him some physical weaknesses (damaged hearing in his right ear, chronic body aches, exhaustion from over-exerting himself, ageing him up by a few years) and leaning heavily into his PTSD and the psychological scars of failing to protect his daughter actually served to highlight his strength. Seeing him struggle to protect Ellie because of his physical vulnerabilities and his debilitating fear that he’s going to get her killed one day like he did Sarah, made the moments he was able to protect her by fighting through all his pain and his fear that much more powerful to me because it’s relatable. I get wanting to see him do more badass things like in the game, but honestly I think if the show had just portrayed Joel as indomitable all the way through, then I don’t think his moments of strength or his overall character arc would have had as much emotional impact, in my opinion.
That is a valid point and I absolutely get where you're coming from. Funny is, that I partly agree with your opinion.
Although, what HBO did mess up, was their move to reduce violent action scenes. They basically cut out every important aspect of the time where both Ellie and Joel proved that they can trust each other in the most dangerous situations. I get they decided not to use some of these scenes to avoid difficulties during filming, but they diminished the thrill of Joel's character development.
The problem with reducing violent action scenes is that it removes very important build-up and foreshadowing about Joel. In the game, we are constantly reminded of what he's capable of and what kind of man he is. I just don't buy that show Joel would be mentally or physically capable of taking out an entire hospital filled with armed guards by himself. It's not that believable because Joel has only been portrayed as a depressed old man with panic attacks until that point.
I love show Joel. Pedro did amazing job portraying what he was given (I actually love him cause of how well he portrayed him), but they did him so dirty in the show when it comes to this. It's the writers' fault.
It's kind of clear now that they are trying to do the opposites of those chracters in the show for some reason. Making Ellie rougher and Joel weaker.

Reenactment (BTAA!Scarecrow x Fem!Reader)
You and Jon decide to act out one of his favorite scenes in one of Basil Karlo’s films...with an erotic twist, of course.
AN: This man has me by the throat, so of course, as soon as I got this idea, I had to write it down before I lost it to the void.
CW: Roleplay, Consensual Non-Consent, Knifeplay, Slight bondage, Rough sex, Biting
Word count: ~1200
The stage is set. Your wrists are bound, tied to the bed post in rope that scratches and reddens your skin. Wearing nothing but a plush bath robe, you are at the mercy of your captor, your husband, Paul Batcher.
At least, that’s how the scene of one of Jon’s favorite movies goes. During a Basil Karlo marathon, in between his random bits of trivia about the actor himself, he was most excited about what was ‘the most controversial scene of his career’. His character, upon finding his wife had been cheating on him with his best friend, abducts her and tortures her in a gruesome finale. It was hard to keep your eyes on the screen, but Jon seemed to delight in how much it fascinated you all the same, even providing his own personal dissection of the climax. You couldn’t help but agree with his opinion that despite the horror, there was something erotic hiding behind every action Paul performed.
So with some editing to the original script, you were here, playing the role of Charlotte, the unfaithful wife. Armed with only your safe word, you listen as Jon hums, polishing his switchblade until it shimmers in the lamp light.
And action.
“You remember this, don’t you?” Jon smirks, perfectly mimicking the one Karlo wore in that infamous scene (you can’t help but wonder if he's practiced it before). “My birthday present. And you remember what you told me when I opened the case?” He turns, and his grim expression sends shivers down your spine. “‘So sharp, you could shave your face with it.’ Well,” he says as he steps toward you, “I haven’t the guts to try something like that. Not on myself, at least.”
Slowly, he brings the blade towards your face, and you swear you can see your reflection in the polished steel. You hold your breath as it hovers over your cheek, just barely touching your skin. “But I’ve taken good care of it. Bet you wouldn’t even feel a cut from it.” With the tip, Jon traces his knife down from your cheekbone to the bottom of your chin. Even though he’s not pressing hard enough to draw blood, you hold your breath, keeping still as Jon’s other hand lingers over your throat.
It's your cue now. Remembering how the scene went, your voice shakes as you beg ‘Paul’ for forgiveness, you can talk this out.
Jon sighs, his lip curling into a grin. “Too little, too late. But you were never good at thinking ahead. No,” he purrs, trailing the blade down the side of your neck. A whimper sneaks past your lips, your nerves on fire from the mix of sensations. Jon’s voice vibrates through your bones, down to your pelvis, causing you to cross your legs in a feeble attempt to hide your arousal. But he seems to have noticed, as his own leg comes forward, wedging itself in between your thighs.
“You’re not even thinking about what I really want to do to you. You’re only thinking about yourself.” Jon brings his knife to the belt keeping your robe closed. “And how much you want this robe off.” He digs it into the loose knot of the belt, using the flat to lift it up and undo it. After laying the ends aside, he sneaks his blade in between the folds, and the cold steel against your lower stomach makes you gasp and shudder.
Your heart races, pounding as you concentrate on staying still for Jon. It wasn't as if you didn't trust him. But you know that one slight move from you might result in an accidental injury, especially as he draws a circle with the tip just below the ribs. Even so, the adrenaline coursing through is enough to make you soaking wet, and Jon's knee rubbing up against your sex only accentuates it. You don't even notice him undoing his belt, pulling down his pants and revealing his own excitement as he sets the blade aside.
This was the biggest departure from the original scene now, but you almost forget to moan out the main character's name. You fumble in your clouded mind, calling for Jon instead of Paul, but the scene continues just the same. In fact, you hear a small laugh from your partner, amused as he sneaks a little kiss and nibble on your neck to draw more noise from you.
"How many names have you cried out on this bed?" With two fingers, he presses down just above your groin. "How many have you taken?" He traces down, brushing over your clit and rubbing against your lips, eliciting whimpers and whines as you finally get some proper attention down there.
No, concentrate. What was your line again? 'I'm sorry...I'll do whatever you want, just throw the knife away. You know I would do anything for you.' Well, you did the best you could, anyway. Jon's rubbing, combined with him sneaking inside to massage your insides didn't help.
"Yes, pumpkin," he purrs in your ear, "I know you would." He brings his hips forward, his erection throbbing as he brings your legs over his shoulders. He lines himself up to your cunt, and your breath stops as you stare into his hazel eyes.
"Then scream for me."
And he plunges his 'blade' into you. The sudden thrust sends pain shooting through your sex, making you cry out and arch your back as he lingers inside. His breath shakes, and he grits his teeth as he moves his hips back. With another thrust, the pain courses through you again, but behind it, the hormones work to turn it into pleasure. The safe word rises up your throat, but you swallow it down. Even though Jon's sudden thrusts hurt, it's not an unwelcome pain. Again and again, he stabs into you, and your cries and whimpers spur him on. Eventually, your body catches up with his, and you come as his cock digs into you.
"That's it," he growls in your ear, his hips slamming into yours. "Just like that." Suddenly, he grabs your face, making you look up at him. Jon pants, his lips upturned in a sadistic snarl. "Look at me when you come. I want my face burned into your eyes."
Just the way he glares at you, forcing your gaze towards him, sends you over the edge again. Your body was going to hate you for this later, but the abuse was addicting. Without thinking, you cry out Jon's name, forgetting about the scene, only focusing on how he fucked you like an animal, nibbling and biting on your neck and shoulders, marking you as his. And finally, as he reaches his peak, he groans as he bites down, hard, on your shoulder. With one final thrust, he finishes, panting heavily as your insides are coated with his seed.
Your muscles twitch, the final orgasm running its course as Jon pulls out. After wiping the drool from his mouth, he grabs his knife again, and with an effortless flick, he cuts the ribbon around your wrists, freeing you. Then he falls over next to you, and the two of you lay close to each other as you catch your breath.
Finally, you find the strength to move yourself closer to Jon, resting his head on his chest. You're met with an arm around you and a kiss on the forehead.
"Brava..." You hear him whisper. "What a performance. What a spectacle."
If he thinks he's getting an encore, he's going to be disappointed. You're going to need at least a week to recover from this.
"Ah, well." He says in mock disappointment, giving another kiss. "Wouldn't want to spoil our appetite, now."

Every single thought I have about the Doctor Who 60th specials… (Part 2/2)
Part 1
I feel like I’m losing my mind with all the opinions, questions and theories I have about what we’ve watched over the last three weeks so this is part 2 of a full semi-comprehensive list of pretty much all of it so I can get it out of my head and (mostly) move on
The Giggle
Toymaker Stuff
I didn’t love the mad guy’s speech at the beginning, it felt very unnatural idk
Wilf isn’t affected by what’s going on so that would surely mean that Kate shouldn’t be affected either because they both went into the TARDIS for pretty short amounts of time. Wilf probably even less than Kate as far as I can remember. I’m kinda just gonna assume it’s to do with when episodes were written, filmed and aired like I guess RTD didn’t know that Kate would end up in the TARDIS during PoTD and it was too late to change it when he found out
The tune in everyone's head reminds me of the Master in S3 using the beat to get everyone to vote for him
I don’t know how I feel about the Toymaker showing up because of the salt in WBY like.. Okay I guess. Wait I don't think I really care that much either way actually. It’s fine
NPH did a fine job for the most part but I low-key wish the Toymaker was played by someone unknown because I just couldn't get out of my head that it was NPH lmao but maybe that’s just a me problem
I liked the Spice Girls scene but I didn't love the lip-syncing idk, it didn’t have enough power to it, just felt kinda awkward. Also while I loved it, it is probably my least favourite out of the three scenes like that that we’ve had. Rasputin number one!
I’m not sure if I like the bit where the Doctor basically does what he did with the Master and offers to be with the Toymaker and go travelling and stuff like.. Did he mean that? What would have happened if the Toymaker agreed? I do get what he’s saying though about how the Toymaker can do all of that and chooses to cause problems for people but idk, offering to go out to space with him isn’t my fave like why are you tryna give the Toymaker a redemption arc rn fuck him
The flashback to 1 and the original Toymaker!! Love it
RTD said in the commentary that the ‘I made a jigsaw out of your history’ comment was kinda to relax the rules a bit and make more sense of contradicting things we’ve seen like the half-human thing and the Timeless Child for example and like.. Okay, I guess. I think it’s an unnecessary addition tbh. And the ‘Did you like it?’ comment is like right, are we saying the Doctor has memories of, say, believing they were half human because that’s so silly to me. Just chalk it up to a dumb writing choice that went nowhere and move on. We don't need an in-universe explanation for it.
‘I made every opinion supreme. That's the game of the 21st century. They shout and they type and they cancel. So I fixed it. Now everyone wins.’ - CRINGE sorry. Like ppl say Chibnall has on the nose commentaries (@ the Orphan 55 speech) but some of the stuff in this ep was like yeah okay Russ mate we get it. Also I don’t trust that a 60yo man fully understands what ‘cancelling’ is and it always makes me side eye ppl when they mention cancelling bc I’m like right but ‘cancelling’ is a lot of the time actually just people being held accountable for things but whatever. I get though that the point in this episode was to make people extreme so there were examples of ‘cancelling’ in the ridiculous sense rather than the holding accountable sense so whatever
I cba to check what he specifically said but there was a moment where the Doctor was like ‘if I told you he [could do this thing] would you believe me’ and the person he was talking to was like ‘can he do that’ and the Doctor was like ‘no’ so um why mention it then? Dumb as fuck
Not sure about the Toymaker being racist, feels unnecessary? Obviously recognising that the original character is fucked up is important but I don’t know if having the new Toymaker straight up be racist towards someone and spend the episode doing different accents was really needed? Like was the actual character of the Toymaker racist in that original serial or did he just have aspects to him (like name and outfit) that we now recognise as being fucked up? And he’s not from Earth so idk why he would be racist and also in unleashed they’re like ‘he is now a white character played by a white actor’ which he also was in the 60s so?? Unless what they’re saying is that back then the character was intended to be Chinese but was obviously played by a white person? Idk everything about the original Toymaker so maybe overall it does work that he’s racist, idfk
Hints
The Master - RTD said in the commentary for this episode that he hasn’t got any Master plans right now and if that’s true then I truly do not understand why he would bring the Master up at all let alone hint at their return (in the same way he hinted at it back in S3 mind you like get some new actually decent ideas Russell I’m begging). It’s just such a waste of time to do that. Let whoever decides to bring the Master back in the future figure out how they want to do it, and if it’s RTD that ends up doing it, do the hinting and explanation at a time when it makes sense, not in the midst of an episode two plus seasons from the Master even coming back. Baffling choice. I did love the laughs we heard as someone picked the tooth up though and also I love the idea of the Master going up against the Toymaker.
The One Who Waits - Okay. Idk how anyone can have any theories about this tbh but someone who the Toymaker would rather avoid has gotta be pretty rough
‘My Legions are coming.’ - They say in the commentary that this is true and every few episodes the story is kinda supernatural and the rules are suspended a bit and I’m SO excited for that, sounds really interesting
Name Drops
Obsessed with the companion puppet show. I’ve seen a lot of people basically try and clown on the fact that no Chibnall companions got mentioned during that as if it’s the funniest thing in the world and Chibnall has been skipped for shady reasons or something and I find it so embarrassing. It’s literally like well no, 13 managed to get all her companions home safe so why would the Toymaker mention them in a puppet show about the Doctor’s dead companions? Like ppl seem to think it’s funny bc they’re skipping Chibnall’s companions but imo it’s more funny bc it makes the Toymaker’s little story less impactful like he’s got a run of three companions that leave via traumatic experiences but then he has to skip four whole companions bc they literally got home fine like it ruins the flow and is kinda embarrassing for him if he’s tryna prove that the Doctor get’s everyone killed all the time bc clearly they don’t. But anyways
The lack of Yaz mention in the scene at the end literally full of namedrops is frustrating icl. Like, the whole conversation they’re having is around the Doctor never resting. The Doctor is literally about to go and rest by staying in one place for an extended period of time with a companion, FIXING THEMSELVES SOMEWHERE, and you don’t think now would be a good time to do a quick mention to the companion the Doctor left less than 24 hours ago that they decided they couldn’t be with because they ‘couldn’t fix themselves to anyone’? Are you being fr? Like, a Yaz mention fits in so perfectly with that conversation so the fact they left her out is CRAZY.
I don’t think it would have made sense to mention her along with River and Rose because the vibe of the conversation was about like, hugely devastating moments/experiences and the Doctor leaving Yaz isn’t quite on that level in terms of Yaz is just in Sheffield if the Doctor wanted to see her whereas they lost both Rose and River in devastating ways. But I think when people point that out they do it as a reason to not mention Yaz but to me it’s like, well no, she should still have got a mention, just at a different point in the conversation. Even if it wasn’t in relation to the whole fixing themselves to someone thing, they could very easily have had 15 been like ‘Yaz left less than 24 hours ago and I bet you haven’t even tried processing that’
Idk. I know so many ppl are clowning on the fact Yaz wasn’t mentioned or trying to justify why there was no reason to mention her anyways but it’s like no matter what you think of the previous era and the quality of it, it is a FACT that the Doctor thought of Yaz very highly, literally comparing her to River, so not mentioning her during that scene, especially when the Doctor left her not even 24 hours ago, is beyond ridiculous and I’ll genuinely never stop being baffled by it
I know some people don’t like the Sarah Jane mention and feel like she deserved something bigger but I liked it tbh. The Doctor was like ‘Can you just think for a second about how crazy it is that you’ve been so busy doing shit that you not only haven’t been to see your old companion in YEARS to just catch but also it’s taken you so long to do so that she’s died.’ I get wanting more emotion but I kinda liked that it was more of a call out and also like a ‘woah’ moment because I think Sarah Jane is one of those characters you wouldn’t think of dying so her being gone is in universe now too IS a woah moment
The Mavic Chen mention was kinda unnecessary. Idk I don’t really know anything about the character other than it’s a white guy portraying an Asian character so like… of all the characters to mention idk why that would be the one. I don’t even know if they’re that significant of a character, the racism is literally the only thing I hear people mention which leads me to think there’s not really much else going on there that’s worth them getting a name drop after however many decades but whatever
Bigeneration, Face Explanations
I think bigeneration as a concept is interesting and I actually do like the moment where it gets brought up and they’re like ‘It’s a myth apparently not’ and 15 is like ‘myth, myth, myth,’ like ‘the details don't matter right now, what’s happened has happened, moving on’ but at the same time, while the details didn’t matter in that moment, I actually do want details.
I can’t remember which Doctor it was but one of them says to the Toymaker, ‘you did this, you doubled us’ so I guess we’re saying that the reason the bigeneration happened is because of the Toymaker. That’s fine by me tbh. Like okay, the Toymaker, and people as powerful as the Toymaker, are rarely around to make that happen so I guess it makes sense that bigeneration could be SO rare that it’s thought of as a myth rather than a real thing. But thats about the only thing about bigeneration that I think is even remotely clear or like, un-annoying enough for me to just be like okay cool whatever
From the commentary - ‘I think down the timeline they all separated and came back to life with their TARDISes, the gift of the Toymaker. What I'm calling the Docterverse. I want to create a future in which Sylvester McCoy could just survive and have an adventure. Because one of the thing about The Star Beast is to get you back we had to jump through so many hoops which is a great story but it's like why can't you just arrive and step out of the tardis. So hopefully it creates a story where that happens.’ - This is just unnecessary and I don’t really see the need for it and the reasons RTD gave aren’t really THAT compelling to me.
First of all, the ‘gift of the Toymaker’ comment is proof of him being why the bigeneration happened. I don’t think the bigen is in any way related to the state the Doctor was in after years of bottling things up like I think some people have speculated. But also there is a moment in the episode where 15 says ‘bigeneration has never happened before’ so that makes me be like well if it hasn’t happened before why would it be a myth? And I guess how do you know it’s never happened before? IDFK
Second, ‘we had to jump through hoops to get DT and CTATE back’... You quite literally did not. 13 regenerated into DT, Donna magically survived with the help of girl power and her plot device daughter. It was actually quite simple.
Third, I get the thing of wanting to be able to tell a story that’s set in a world where Sylvester McCoy didn’t regenerate when he did and instead went on to continue travelling with Ace or met new companions or grew old or whatever else but I just don’t think bigeneration was the solution for that. You can absolutely write those kinds of stories without bigeneration. Like somebody introduce Rusell to the concept of Alternate Universe fanfiction fuck me. All of that stuff does not need to be added to the official canon timeline of the Doctor.  Doctor Who is already a massive franchise with content all over the place but imo the idea that every Doctor bigenerated adds to that on such a ridiculous level. And also I know that there’s already so many Doctors travelling the universe but the fact that now I guess there’s TWO of every Doctor is like.. Why?
I also think all of it happening in the same universe cheapens the story of our main Doctor and each incarnation’s life and ‘death’ on some level. Like, now RTD is basically saying that 13 bigenerated and 14 went on like we saw in the 60th but 13 coulda gone back to Yaz and said ‘Actually I’ll be with you because I can do that now.’ and I just HATE IT. That would completely take away all the emotional impact of their ending because it’s all in the same universe as what took place in the show. That’s not some AU Yasmin Khan that now gets to have a happily ever after with the Doctor, it would be OUR Yaz from this universe and that’s STUPID. For another example, 10’s final words of ‘I don’t wanna go’ well don’t worry, he didn’t go! Like omg write all the AU fanfics you want about 13 running back to Yaz or 10 crying about not wanting to go only to then actually not have to go or whatever else but don’t put that shit into the actual canon Russell?? Not that 13 going back to Yaz is in the canon now (10 not actually ‘going’ is tho according to RTD’s everyone bigenerated theory), but it’s possible we’ll get some EU book that’s about that and I just would much prefer stuff like that to be kept to fanfics or even be official DW content but be specifically alternate universe/what if style stuff.
Idk like at the end of the day I will just be ignoring that RTD is saying every Doctor bigenerated in that moment unless we see some stuff related to it in the main show (though even then I’ll probs be like nah) because it’s genuinely one of the dumbest things a showrunner has ever come up with but even though I’m gonna ignore it, it still winds me up because I’m just so baffled that it’s even real and the reasons for it aren’t even good.
Like ‘now we can bring a Doctor back whenever and not have to worry about where they fit in their timeline or how old they look’??? How STUPID omg I actually can’t cope. There’s basically infinite space in every Doctor’s timeline where you can just be like okay let’s say they came from that point. The need to be like well now we don’t have to figure that out is SO lazy. A lot of stories don’t even get too specific, because half the time it doesn’t really matter much
And the whole them aging thing is like did anyone give a fuck that they looked old in Power of the Doctor? No. Because it doesn’t matter. And if it did matter, just recast them. Like if we ever got a full on multi Doctor episode with a Classic Doctor (like TUaT) I would much prefer to see them be recast than have the character be played by the older actor and have it rationalised by saying ‘Well they bigenerated and they’ve got old’ like how FUCKING DUMB get me out of here. Just recast them and think for two seconds about what point in their timeline they could be coming from.
And if you want to tell stories where they magically survived and met new companions or went on adventures that wouldn’t fit with what we know their general timeline/arc is then create specific alternate universe content, don’t make every Doctor magically survive their regeneration. The Tales of the TARDIS stories on iPlayer are interesting but the idea of it being in our main Doctor’s universe/timelines is just silly. Say it’s an alternate universe where the Doctor didn’t regenerate at the point they did omg, it’s that simple
He also literally says ‘it’s what everyone does in their imagination’ and ‘it's Big Finish’ and um yes Russell, there is a reason that stuff is imagination and alternate universe and not like, canonically a part of the Doctor’s life, because it’s just silly.
Also I’m not fully clear on what this means for 14 like okay so (1) is he going to get old and die, (2) is he his own Doctor now that will regenerate as normal for potentially an infinite amount of times or (3) is he gonna at some point regenerate and magically appear as the 15 that bigenerated out of him however many years previously on the roof?
I want to say it’s (3) mainly because of 15 saying ‘I’m fine because you fix yourself’, and it does make sense that 15 is the way he is because he’s a result of the recovery 14 goes through but it raises more questions because like... How tf does that happen? 14 regenerates one day and turns into a puff of smoke while his consciousness travels across the country to the roof and implants itself into 14’s brain as the Toymaker shoots him and then he pops out as 15? Like? It’s SO ridiculous. This is kinda the only thing that makes me want bigeneration to come up again in future seasons because maybe RTD has a clear explanation in mind that will play out better on screen and make more sense than what we’re working with right now
Tbh I think option (1) would’ve been my favourite if we’re saying every Doctor bigenerated because it makes things a lot simpler and also would mean that whatever the Doctor goes through post bigeneration doesn’t effect the main Doctor so essentially our main Doctor would be existing as if the bigenerations never even happened because unlike if option (3) is what’s going on, they won’t have any memories of what the post-bigenerated Doctor got up before they magically get transported back to become them yknow? It does kinda make 15 being like that (happy, therapized) less interesting though because it would basically mean that he is a true fresh start for the Doctor and he basically fobbed all the trauma off onto 14 when he popped out rather than having memories of overcoming that trauma etc while living with Donna. And that’s kinda cop out-y and doesn’t make sense if we’re saying EVERY other Doctor also bigenerated (which I’m not saying bc fuck that but it’s Russell’s theory so).
Like if 11 bigenerated in Time of the Doctor, 12 would NOT have that personality bc he presumably would have fobbed all the trauma onto 11 and came out fresh as fuck like 15 did (and like obviously the reason that actually didn’t happen is because bigeneration wasn’t invented back then out of universe but you know what I mean, if we’re saying retroactively that it DID happen then it doesn’t make full sense. Unless 14’s bigeneration was a one off and not every bigeneration results in one Doctor being left with the trauma and the other Doctor being fine. Wait, I'd much prefer that actually…
If the explanation we’re going with is every Doctor bigenerated then I prefer the idea that both Doctor’s that come from the bigeneration are exactly same, but maybe bc 14/15 are the main focus and reason the bigenerations happened, that’s why 14 is fucked still and 15 is recovered. So then 14 lives his life, dies of old age. Then 15 continues as the Doctor. And for previous Doctors, 12 would still be the 12 we know because the bigeneration didn’t change the Doctor’s personality.
This is what kills me about Russell saying EVERY Doctor bigenerated btw. I'm so down for 14 bigenerating then living his life resulting in 15 being the way he is but it happenining to EVERY Doctor is where it falls apart. It’s STUPID. Because if we’re saying 15 is the way he is because 14 lived his life and go therapy then surely the same would’ve happened with all previous Doctors? And maybe they wouldn’t necessarily be thereapized but they wouldn’t have the traumas of what they just regenerated from because they would have just lived however many years between then becoming slightly or largely different people. Like if 10 bigenerated and didn’t go, essentially getting what he wanted, would the 11th Doctor then have wanted to run away to a fresh start like he did in S5? Because who knows what sort of things 10 would have got up to between bigenerating as himself and magically getting back there again as 11. Does any of this make sense omg I feel like I’m waffling like crazy
As for option (2), yeah, I hate that idea. Like, 14 (and every previous Doctor that apparently bigenerated (fuck you Russel T)) going on to live that life out but then also continue on regenerating and basically being their own person now that’s branched off from our main Doctor? Horrific. No thanks.
Regardless of how he got that way, I am so in love with 15’s vibes and just how happy he is. I feel like it’s not gonna last long (which I’m fine with because I love a traumatised Doctor) but I’ll love it for as long as it lasts
I love that 15 basically takes over the episode instantly like he says to push, he explains stuff, he has the throw that makes them win. Idk I understand why people were worried about the first main black Doctor being overshadowed by the people’s princess but I think anyone who believes DT overshadowed Ncuti in those final 15 or so minutes is SOOOOO wrong. 14 still had his moments obviously, but 15 was absolutely present and had great stuff too, probably more so
The ‘do you come in a range of colours’ comment from Donna was honestly kinda jarring like I know what she was asking and why she was asking it but the way she asked felt crazy. But also if she has memories of what the Doctor has been through since he left her then surely she knows he ‘comes in a range of colours’ because she would’ve seen 13 meet Fugitive? Unless I’m misremembering and Donna was being fr when she said she couldn’t remember the stuff she saw properly. Idk
There’s vibes to it that I don’t love but overall I think I am happy and okay with 14’s ending like I’ve seen a lot of people say it ruins 10’s ending for various reasons or like, it’s not fair that other Doctors didn’t get this but I think that’s kinda silly. In terms of 10’s ending, him bigenerating (according to Russell, I'm pretending that shit didn't happen) is what ruins his ending, not the fact that 14 now gets to be happy. And in terms of other Doctor’s deserving it, you just sound childish icl. Like yeah okay every Doctor deserves to be happy and healthy and rest up but that just isn’t what happened, grow up. Wish they got that, sure, but don’t act like 14 getting that instead of them makes the story bad because clearly if you want that for your fave Doctor then you mustn't think the story is that bad
I don’t think I looove the explanation that his face came back because he was wearing himself out and wanted to go home or whatever like idk. It feels kinda simple and boring. I do like the idea of the Doctor just being so worn out that he ends up spending a regeneration recovering, that’s VERY real and the Doctor defo needs that. But that being the whole reason the face came back is very cop out-y imo, much like the explanation for Donna surviving the metacrisis. Two big story points that could’ve had really interesting explanations but were kinda nothing in the end. I’m glad 14 got the ending he did but that part of the explanation was a bit boring
14 accepting he’s regenerating only to then.. Not regenerate is kinda haunting like everyone has BEEN saying oh it would be nice if 10 didn’t want to go and 14 finally got closure or whatever and was okay with it and then that literally happened and he didn’t even end up going like.. Okay. I think it makes sense for him to be okay with going bc as much as people love to say it, he’s not ACTUALLY 10 and the Doctor’s attitude to regeneration has changed since he was 10 but idk, I’m just wondering if the bigen kinda ruins that moment of acceptance from him
14 saying he fought all those battles and now he knows what for because he’s living a happy life makes me feel INSANE. Honestly, I think that’s the line that really makes me remember that this isn’t just 10 3.0, this is the Doctor with pre- and post-10 baggage and I really felt his age and felt how deserving the Doctor is of just being happy and living that life.
There’s a moment where 15 says about how they’ve never just stopped and rested and I’ve seen people not like that and bring up things like Darillium or the time 11 spent mourning the Ponds or 12 working at the university and I defo understand where that POV is coming from but I think for me there is a difference between those and 14’s ending because 14’s ending is really just as simple as he is living on Earth pretty much permanently with the odd trip away and that’s just his life now whereas with all the others there was bigger things going on that the Doctor simply staying at a place because they feel like it. Darillium is probably the closest to being like 14 but I cannot imagine 12 and River just spent 24 years doing nothing, I’m sure they travelled during that time. And then 12 at the Uni had watching vault duties and 11 was in deep mourning. 14’s ending is a lot more simple y'know and focused specifically on his recovery and just living his best life.
Misc
The TODAY text that came up when we first saw 14 and Donna was so unnecessary. It’s 100% the kind of thing Chibnall would've got shit for bc ppl have a weird hatred for his location texts but I haven’t really seen anymore mention it even though it’s defo the worst location text the show has seen
I am obsessed with the music when 14 first appears in the ep and when they first meet the Toymaker in the shop, it’s so good. I’m not that happy about Murray Gold being back bc it’s suuuuuch a ‘getting the band back together’ thing like omg just hire some new ppl but I’ve always liked his stuff so whatever I guess
I like when the Doctor calls out about people and how they love to poison and hate each other like yeah, the Doctor loves humans but also he can see how shit we are at the same time, and calling those things out specifically was just really good imo idk
Idk why Mel was in this tbh like I have no attachment to her so I can’t even say it was nice to see her bc I don’t know her. All she did was sing a song, hold 14’s hand and carry a box around. I feel like she could’ve been used better. I’m hoping she gets used better the next time we see her. Also I’ve seen some ppl literally say that she was used better than Ace and Tegan were in POTD and genuinely if you think that you’re an idiot
Love the scene of Donna and the puppets, spooky
I like catch as a final game, I think I saw some ppl say it was too simple/boring
Why did 14 start explaining bits of the TARDIS to 15 like brother that is literally you I think he knows
The ‘you’ve finally caught up with the 21st century’ comment is cringe a fuck. Very an old man just wrote that coded. And also Shirley doesn’t even get to go in lmao
The whole old man, you’re older, I’m younger thing is a funny moment but also doesn’t make sense unless the intention is that 14 goes on to become 15, in which case, yes, 15 is the old man. If 14 never becomes 15 and they’re just living parallel lives from now on then they’re the exact same age
Why is Wilf shooting moles? That does not feel very Wilf at all
Giggle Commentary Misc
Russell said something like there’s proof Ncuti has the real TARDIS because he’s sure people will worry but um.. Why would people worry about it?
DT says in there that he didn’t make a conscious effort to play 14 differently to 10 and I find that baffling for two reasons - first because he FELT different, so the fact he wasn’t trying to be is kinda impressive and second because I’m like surely you know the character has changed over that time? Like I know 14 is essentially 10 but he is 10 with 1000+ years of extra baggage and not taking that into consideration when going into the part is borderline unprofessional? Naive? Embarrassing? Makes me think he wasn’t taking the story/character seriously? Idek. I find it strange. RTD’s fault too, I’m sure. Though the fact 14 feels a bit different is in part to do with the scripts etc
Also in the commentary they were laughing at the idea of DT coming back and playing the Doctor differently and like, I get it, obviously the excitement about him coming back was because people love 10 and the story they told made it make sense he was acting a lot like 10 but to laugh off the idea of him playing it differently is CRAZY, there’s surely interesting stuff that coulda been done there. Like one day an actor coming back to the role as a main incarnation and playing it completely different to how they played it the first time round and having a completely new arc etc would be really cool imo
I love seeing the Doctor be high on regen energy when they first regenerate, it’s one of the best parts of seeing a new Doctor, but I also kinda agree that it’s nice to do something different and seeing 14 and 15 interact with each other was 10/10. I do hope the next regeneration is a back to basics one though after two fuckeries in a row.

Hi. Destiny! I came with peace 😊 so pls don't be mad at me. I have a little favor to ask. You know, we often say here "c'mon people, stop taking twitter haters/film bros seriously 'cause they are very very loud and toxic minority of the internet". Well, twitter and tumblr Tom stans are NOT the majority of the fandom either (same with Z stans and TZ shippers). Like at all. And those who actively post are an even smaller slice. And those of them who constantly write nasty things? It's like 1% of that slice🤏. So when you and your anons discuss how many of Tom fans did this or that pls🙏 do not exaggerate and be a little bit more specific. Cuz "many of Tom fans did something" and it's pretty much always like 2 blogs and 10 asks here and 4 same noisy accs on twitter (who call themselves his fans but shit on him every week. we all already know their names). And that's it. Looks not so "many" for me😏. The rest of boycotting TCR tweets and making fun of his look tweets or asks (i agree there were plenty of those) were not really from TOM fans but more like from GP, locals and not so friendly Z stans. As always.
That's fair enough Anon. I agree that it's not ALL of Tom's fans who are bashing his choices, or are behaving a certain way. I really shouldn't generalize.
Okay, I'm going to go with some #REALTALK here...so sorry if I offend anyone or step on toes, but I'm always 100% HONEST here on my blog.
***WARNING: Unpopular Opinion Coming Through***
I just find that with Tom's fandom in particular, it just seems like his fans don't trust him for some reason. 🥴 I feel like a lot of his fans infantilize him to a massive degree in fact. He's a 26 year old MAN...he's not some little boy. But I get the overwhelming feeling sometimes that his fans think they know better than he does about what he wants to do, or what he should do. Idk...it's just weird to me. 🥴 Why not just trust him and his decisions? Even if you didn't particularly like a project of his, maybe HE liked it and wanted to work with a particular director/actor or just simply liked the script?? 🤷🏾‍♀️
I'm pretty sure the same thing probably goes on in other actor's fandoms as well, but I can only speak to Tom's fandom since I've been part of his fandom heavily for almost 6 years now. I even compare it to the other male fandoms that I've been apart of in the past, and even currently, and to me it just seems like Tom gets way more pressure from his fans/fandom than some other fandoms out here. That's all. While other fandoms seem to just let their faves just "be" and are CHILL about whatever new project or thing they have going on in their life, I find that Tom (and Zendaya's fandom tbh) freak out over the smallest little things. 😔 Take the LV (possibility) for example. So many fans ready to hate on Z possibly switching from Valentino to LV. Like, we don't even know any details yet, but some already are crying, complaining, or getting "anxious". That is just SO much pressure on these two individuals. Can't y'll just let them BE?? 👀
Sorry for the vent session, but that's just how I personally feel about the fandom. And maybe you're right, maybe it's just a very SELECT small FEW (a minority) who behave this way. Unfortunately, this "minority" is a very vocal one.....

do you care to share any of your many feelings about Tony? Or why you're team Iron Man? I'm actually so curious about all your opinions about the MCU in general, like Tony and why Endgame ruined the franchise and why you didn't like Loki, so ... if you want to talk about any of those things please share because I want to know as much as you're willing to tell me! If not feel free to ignore this and continue on your day :)
Sure, lovely!
Imma just preface this by saying that I'm not looking to kick the hornet's nest and I'm not interested in having arguments with people about this sort of stuff. If anyone disagrees, that's cool, I legit do not care and please don't come into my inbox trying to change my mind or be upset.
I love Tony because he's a deeply flawed character, and within the story he's completely aware of his faults. He's by no means perfect and he doesn't pretend to be (except as a mask or a joke). He accepts responsibility for his actions the second he realises what's happening, he carries his guilt well and uses his mistakes to improve. He's charming, a snarky little shit, and traumatised, which is my favourite character type.
I'm Team Iron Man largely because I agree with their views in the movie. The Avengers really did need oversight, because holy shit have they done some fucked up things and made things actively worse in many instances. The fact that the accords were brought up by the UN and agreed on by 117 countries really makes it hard for me to just hand-wave those away. I live in a country that has a real problem with certain policing or political entities not having the correct level of oversight, and it's a shit-show. If I lived in a world where people could fly and punch someone into the stratosphere or destroy cities with laser beams and magic, then hell yeah would I want someone keeping an eye on them and at the very least making sure they had training/processes/policies they had to follow. The fact that Steve barely read the accords or took the time to understand them really bothered me. And the fact that the Civil War stopped being about the accords the second Barnes was involved also annoyed me. Steve had tunnel-vision, and it fucked everything up for everyone. So just on that, Team Iron Man wins by default for me.
Endgame just disappointed me. The plot was messy, and the shoehorned humour was completely out of tone. Trying to redeem Howard Stark was dumb. Thor was bad. Thanos annoyed me. Natasha got done dirty. It was just - idk. I don't really need to justify it. I just didn't have a good time overall. I haven't really liked many mcu films or tv shows, to be honest. I think I just watched them because they're the latest trend or whatever, and even the hype wasn't enough to keep me on the tether. There's just a lot of inconsistency with certain projects and it can get frustrating.
I didn't like Loki's show because I couldn't get into the characterisation of him. He turned...almost goofy? Silly? He just didn't have the sharpness I initially really liked, if that makes sense? Him being softer would have been fine, him learning to trust and have bonds would have been absolutely cool, but this was Loki fresh from New York and those first few episode just had him come off as a bit dumb. So I couldn't get into it :/
This was a very rough response lmao, but I hope it shines at least a little light on my thoughts 😂 Have a good day/night, darling!

To those blaming Harry saying he was okay with her neglecting HER kids. If the leech tries to play the victim and says Harry manipulated her into leaving her family for him and told her to follow him around the world, Harry didn't hold a gun to her head forcing her to leave Jason and her kids. It wasn't as if her life was on the line if she didn't leave them for Harry. It wasn't as if her fiance and kids life was on the line if she didn't leave them and agreed to be with him to protect them. With the way some people are blaming Harry, you would think he threatened to go after her and her family by making him look so desperate to be with her. By making him look so desperate to sleep with his director. Have you guys forgotten this is Harry Styles we're talking about. He would never risk tainting his image for a quick hookup with his boss. People only believe he likes older women because that's the way he's been portrayed in the media. A womaniser who only has eyes for middle aged women.
But you know what? I've loved Harry (and I still do love him so much) since he was on x factor. I've seen all the shit he's had to go through since day one. Sure I don't know what went on behind closed doors but I've seen the way he's been treated by the media and his previous management team. I've seen the amount of fake stories people made up online about hooking up with him or dating him just for clout. I've seen the times he looked bothered whenever interviewers would try to be nosy about his personal life and kept asking questions about his dating / sex life but was too kind to tell them to shut up. I've seen the times he's truly been happy. I've seen his REAL smile which I have yet to see when he's with the leech. I don't believe the "he fucked his director for the role" or "they hooked up on set and fell in love" bullshit. He definitely was not the reason the leech abandoned the family that loved her for him. He signed the stunt contract to promote the film and the contract was meant to last until spring 2021. Of course the leech continued to keep following him around like a dog after that and maniupulated HIM to extend the contract. Yes Harry was stupid for agreeing to stunt with a woman who has kids in the first place and he got himself into this mess. But didn't it occur to anyone that maybe it's HER the one that's making him go along with the stunt for this long. Maybe she blackmailed him by telling him that if he doesn't contine playing along, she will make up fake accusations against him. At the end of the day she did start those drug rumours which Anne then had to follow her after to calm the leech down. Why do some people think it's only possible for men to manipulate and blackmail women yet don't stop to think that maybe it's the men who are actually being manipulated? Trust me, men can also be intimidated by women. I know it because I've seen my uncle in a similar situation with his wife. They've been married for over a decade now and he still feels intimidated by her. Why he's still with her I'll never know. But yes I've seen how depressed and stressed out Harry looked everytime he was with her. Not once have I seen that guy smile around her. Apart from the (staged) yatch pics. Over 50 pap pics from last month and not a single where he looks happy at all. Over 100 videos from Coachella of them two and again, not a single one where he's smiling or looks happy to be her. Especially in the videos where he's "holding" her while the leech looks smug. He is definitely being manipulated by the leech and the truth will come out. We'll see who defends her then.
After all the twat is friends with Amber Heard and we all know her history with a certain middle aged man.
#freeHarry
This is so controversial to be honest, there are so many opinions about it, so I'm just gonna post this and stay neutral! 😅
I'm so sorry for your uncle though, men can definitely suffer as well, hope his situation gets better. No man or woman should go through intimidation in their lives, specially from the person that they share their life with. 💛

Hello!! Read your No Way Home thoughts and while I did personally enjoy the movie, I do agree with much of what you said and I did feel that the movie was... not as good as it could have been. But I also wanna say that the difference in our experiences was because we both went in with very different expectations! (while I do like to think I have critical thinking skills, I am generally just an average movie enjoyer haha).
That being said, I’m curious to know what your thoughts about the first two MCU Spider-Man movies are, if you’re willing to share :) For me I absolutely loved the first two films, I thought they were really good movies and personally consider them a lot better than NWH. However, I did watch those movies when I was 16/17, so I wouldn’t be surprised if some things about those movies were not as perfect as I originally thought (or maybe I was just charmed by Tom Holland’s face HAHAHA).
Ooh if you watched the other two Spider-Man franchises too I’d love to hear you discuss that as well!! And where MCU Spider-Man stands with respect to them :D but ofc that’s entirely up to you.
Thanks for reading, and have a good day! (Yes I realised I have no idea how to end this ask HAHA sorry)
Hello! I really don't mind people enjoying the movie, I am just blowing up after a year of slow realization that you can no longer trust media critics to make their own informed opinions and think deeper than surface level because everyone is just saying whatever will bring them the most clout. It really has nothing to do with regular people watching stuff that entertains them, I too watch stuff mostly on purely subjective entertainment level, but Disney is one of my most despised things in this world so that's why I am so passionate about this specific subject ahahah!
As for my relationship with other Spiderman media, I suppose it IS important for the context of my opinion and I just forgot abt it fsabjkasbjk. Here's the chronological summary under the cut bc I went off the deep end again:
I grew up with lots of superhero stuff, but Spiderman is the only one who I really loved. I read the comics and books, watched the cartoons and movies, played with action figures, all of it!! I grew out of the phase at around 10 when I started reading like an addict, but I still harbor special feelings for the franchise due to the nostalgia!
We have a tradition where we marathon the Tobey Maguire trilogy once a year, and I truly love it!! Here's where the subjective enjoyment comes into play, because trust me I am aware it isn't high art, but I still love it to bits. It's such a cute way of portraying a teenage superhero in the most 2000s way possible. Everyone is played by adults, the fashion is disastrous, the effects silly, the acting dramatic, the jokes fantastic, the villains engaging, AND I can still cry when sad stuff happens. Perfect.
The Amazing Spiderman movies aren't my thing, my brother claims I have seen them but the only thing I remember is falling asleep midway through the first one. I don't like the fake awkward vibe of a conventionally attractive adult playing a teen boy, so I can't really vibe with Andrew, sorry...
Into the Spiderverse is my fav Spiderman movie. Not only is it fun, but it also reset my brain back in 2018 and it’s the objectively best entry in the franchise no matter how you cut it. Inventive and revolutionary, the animation, the music, the direction- EVERYTHING is just SO GOOD. I was an adult who hated the concept of multiverses with absolutely no prior knowledge of any of the characters and no nostalgia whatsoever and I fell deeply in love.
I don’t have much to say about the PS4 game. I watched my bro play for a while and I think it’s super pretty and charming and well written and I’ll play it one day for sure.
The Spiderman movies are the only entries in the MCU featuring Tom Holland that I've seen, so that's the only context through which I can view his performance. And I really like Homecoming! It is such a fun, cute movie! Sure, I was a little disappointed with the non-Spiderman sentiments such as the robot suit and the "I'm above protecting everyday people" attitude, but the jokes were funny, everyone sold the awkward teen aura really well, and it was visually really good! Ur right, Tom Holland has such a charming boy vibes that he’s super relatable and makes you care about him just by standing there. The villain, the emotional beats, the ending realization that normal people need protecting, it's all very nice! As for Far From Home, I loved it the first time I watched it! (Side note, I first saw it with my mom at a cinema, and that experience of two women with not a lot of knowledge of the MCU sitting among a hundred fans def played to the "no thoughts head empty just good fun" vibe. We cheered, we cried, we screamed. Everyone booed Ned when he said Europeans love Americans. It was amazing.) However, when I rewatched it and had the opportunity to think about it, I caught bad feelings. It was right around that time that I started waking up to the invasive reality of the Internet and just how parasitic and horrible Disney is for the entertainment industry, and I couldn’t help but notice parallels between that and the stuff that movie tried to get us to accept as normal and reasonable in that story. It’s not a question of who should inherit Tony Stark’s power- it SHOULD be a question of whether ANYONE should possess it. Sure, the underlaying message of “It’s not about having powers, it’s about how you use them” is a regular theme in superhero media, but it’s usually for stuff like superstrength or sticky fingers or stretching your limbs really really far. It’s never the most powerful superhero leading nations and directing the fate of the world, it’s the wisest or kindest or most decisive one. It’s the VILLAINS who see power as the right to rule. But Tony Stark’s enterprise in the MCU puts power into new perspective- there IS absolute power that can be used to rule the world and bend the nature of reality, and this time it’s the heroes who invented it and not the villains. And we should just. Accept that. We should be aware these are “normal people” with faults and mistakes and fully quips, but also that they could destroy us all with a flick of their finger and a computer program. It’s such a bleak, ugly thing in that it is contemporary and reflects the world we currently live in, but refuses to paint it as a bad or even a morally gray thing. And now that the third movie is out, I can confidently say that yes, MCU’s Spiderman took a story about a poor boy in a homemade supersuit fighting for the little guy who goes unnoticed amid the space fights and old gods returning and turned it into one of the most obvious pieces of current world order propaganda.
You might say “Io it’s not that deep, stfu, it’s literally about a guy who got superpowers from being bitten by a radioactive spider, it’s just good fun,” but I would argue that EVERYTHING created by the biggest entertainment company in the world should be examined through contemporary context lenses. Media has enormous power in society, and if it’s controlled mostly by the same institution, we should pay attention to what they are saying and why. I’m not gonna pretend the Spiderman franchise was a revolutionary piece of socioeconomic philosophy in the first place, but when you look at which pieces Disney decided to reinterpret and in what ways, it sure makes you think. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

so, I was watching the video that came out today and I was thinking about a age gap seb x reader around his friends like Jessica or maybe chace? And they're just hanging out and they both have this lovesick look on their faces and when she leaves the room for some reason they don't waste any time addressing how in love she is with him, and sebs glad bc they were kinda wary of her at first?
Hiyaaa babes! This is my first request so woohoo🥳 Since you mentioned the video, I literally thought of the pictures that were released while they were filming 355, and now I can’t get the image of Seb in Paris because holy shit he looked good. So I’m gonna be using Jessica❤️
- This came out so long, I’m a sucker for background info and can’t get past writing a story without one💀 Enjoy!💜
💌.
Lovesick
You and Sebastian were unexpected. Literally the chances of you guys getting together were so off and you guys were at different times of your lives. He was in his late 30s, already living most of his life as a successful actor. While you were in your early 20s still in college working on your doctoral degree to become a Pharmacist (It was the only major I could think of atm because it’s the one I’m planing on lol.) You guys met at the cafe near your campus. You always went there every morning and would spot him drinking his morning coffee with his nose stuck in a new script he was reading. You two would sneak glances at each other, admiring each other from afar. Until one day when the cafe was fairly packed and you needed a place to sit. You spotted his familiar face and asked him if you could sit in the seat across from him. Obviously he agreed and you guys talked, getting to know each other the whole time. When it was time for you to leave for classes, you guys exchanged numbers and kept in touch.
Which brings us to today. You and Sebastian have been going strong for about a year now and were approaching your second year together. Though you two are as happy as can be and are still in the honeymoon phase (even after a year), the first few months of the relationship were quite rough. There was an obvious age gap between you two, it didn’t bother you two as much, but the public didn’t react too nicely about it. Your parents weren’t too fond of the idea of you dating an older man, but after getting to know him they knew his intentions with you were well. Same goes for your friends and family. When it came to his fans and the media finding about your relationship, that’s when it went to shit.
The media made Sebastian look like some creep who was going through a midlife crisis for dating someone much younger than him. A few “fans” even claimed that he were a “groomer” after pictures of you and him heavily making out on the street were released. These issues caused some bumps in the road for your relationship, though after many arguments, you two realized that the only opinions that mattered were each other’s.
Now you two were staying at a hotel in Paris. Sebastian was currently working on a big project, “The 355”, something he was very excited about. This was one of the first projects that he was really involved in, from script to screen, he played a pretty big role in this project.
You were typing up a report for your class when Sebastian entered the hotel room. He was still in his set clothes, a light blue shirt, dark jeans, and a pair of Chelsea boots. He approached the bed where you were typing and pressed a kiss to your temple.
“Hey sweetheart, how’s school going?” He greeted you as he settled himself on the bed, laying on his side.
“Meh, it’s going...but I finished my report on time. Now I just need to proofread it.” You smiled as you finished typing the last sentence of your report. When Sebastian discovered he was going to film in Paris, he immediately told you, knowing you’ve been dreaming of visiting Paris. Luckily for the both of you, your school allowed you to do online learning (it probably doesn’t work like that but just go with it) and you were able to tag along with him.
“I’m sure it’s prefect, you’re a great writer.” He complimented, you hummed in response. Turning to him you run your hand through his short hair making him lean into your touch. You loved his fluffy hair but the short hair was starting to grow on you.
Sebastian turned his head and pressed a kiss into your palm, stormy eyes gazing up at you.
“How has your day been?” You asked.
“It was good. We got through a good amount of scenes without messing up, so I’d say it was a successful day.” He answered. You smiled at his enthusiasm. Sebastian’s face always lit up when he was talking about a project and it was one of the things you admired most about him, his passion for his work.
“So, you’ve been cooped up in this damn hotel all day. Why don’t you come to dinner with me and the cast tonight? You’ve been waiting to visit Paris all your life and you haven’t even been outside this hotel for days.” He suggested. It was true, you haven’t done much but do school work, order room service, and binge watch shows on Netflix.
“Are you sure they’d want me to come? I might be intruding.” Honestly you were nervous to meet the rest of the cast. You’ve met Jessica a few times but they were brief and she seemed like she didn’t like you. Though that could just be your thoughts making you paranoid, you were still nervous to meet the people Seb worked with. You didn’t want them to think you were using him for money or to travel around the world because you weren’t. You loved Sebastian for himself, not the money and the fame, you could care less about all that.
But they were still Sebastian’s friends and you wanted to have a good first impression on them. You didn’t want them to think you were just some immature college girl who needed money to pay off her college funds.
Noticing you were drifting off, Sebastian pressed another kiss into your palm and grasps it. “You wouldn’t be intruding, Jessica actually suggested you come along.” He mentioned.
“Are you sure?”
“Positive, baby. Come on, let’s put this stuff away and get ready. We’re having dinner at the Eiffel Tower.”
“I— the Eiffel Tower?”
To say you were intimidated and scared shitless was an understatement. Here you were in the Eiffel Tower having dinner with some of the most talented women in Hollywood. Like seriously Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Penélope Cruz, and Diane Kruger. Of course Seb and Édgar Ramírez where there as well. Then there was you, NYC local college student. You didn’t wanna say you felt out of place, but you did. These were successful people who probably starred in some of the movies you watched growing up. Now you’re literally in the Eiffel fucking Tower having dinner with them.
Dinner was going smoothly, everyone was talking about the set, shared some funny stories, and you were keeping to yourself simply eating your steak. That was until the attention was brought to you.
“So (y/n), Sebastian mentioned you were in college, what are you studying?” Jessica asked. Everyone turned to you and you swear you felt like a deer in headlights. Seb nudged your thigh with his, a reassuring smile on his face.
“Yes I am! I’m actually taking a PharmD program at St. John Fisher to become a Pharmacist.” you answered.
“For your masters?” She followed up curiously, slightly leaning forward to you.
“No, for my doctoral degree.” You corrected her proudly. You didn’t want to come off as an ass, but you were proud of your work and you worked your ass off for it.
Everyone at the table was taken back by your response. Except Sebastian, who had a just as proud smile on his face. They knew you were in college but not studying something as serious as Pharmacy.
“St.John Fisher College? I had a cousin that went there, it’s a great college.” Lupita was the first to break the silence.
“So are you working in the field yet? For some experience?” Penélope chimed in. Sebastian snorted, “Oh she has experience, trust me.”
You chuckled as you softly smacked Seb’s bicep, “Well currently, I’m interning as a Pharmacy Tech at a hospital pharmacy. They’re thinking about making me a permanent one until I graduate so fingers crossed!”
As you answered all their questions about your personal life and your major, Sebastian couldn’t help but just admire you. Just like how you admired the way he talked about his projects, he admired the way you got lost in rambling about your soon career. The way your eyes lit up, how your hands moved while you talked, and that hint of a smile on your face. He absolutely adored every single thing about you.
Dinner continued, the last question for you about why you chose to do college in New York, which segwayed into a conversation about— well New York. As the others talked about their love for the city, Sebastian wrapped his arm around your shoulders. Your back was now pressed to his chest, both of you not listening to the conversation. You pressed a kiss to his arm and looked back at him.
“Hey you.” You hummed at him rubbing your thumb along his arm.
“Hi.” He gazed down at you with that smile that made his eyes crinkle. The moment was interrupted by your phone ringing. Quickly glancing at the contact ID, it was the hospital pharmacy you interned for.
“You should take that.” Seb whispered into your ear.
“No, Seb that’s rude. We’re at dinner, I’m sure it can wait.”
“I have a good feeling about this call, draga mea.” He coaxed you. Having a feeling that he might be right you excuse yourself from the table. When you’re gone the table goes quiet.
“Sebastian, you’ve got one hell of a girlfriend.” Penélope stated as the rest of the table agreed.
“She’s so smart! What the hell, a doctoral degree? Kudos to her because the amount of motivation I would need to even try!” Jessica followed up with an amazed look on her face.
“I think you guys are forgetting to mention how whipped they both are for each other! Those two were in their own world over there!” Lupita pointed out. The whole table laughed as Sebastian was turning red. Of course he was whipped, he knew he was.
“I love her guys, she’s, she’s something else. The spunk she has, her intelligence, she’s-,” Sebastian began to list but was cut off by Édgar, “Out of your league?”
The whole table burst into laughter as they agreed with Édgar. You were also coming back to the table after your call. Sebastian spotted you, eyes connecting to yours immediately.
“Everything alright?”
“They gave me the permanent job!”

I now dub myself the unofficial preview reviewer, gif beggar and chapter summarizer that nobody asked for !!
And what a chapter it was 🥺🥺 Please tell me that they are at the "something" stage !!
Watching Hermione take on the role of politician was very refreshing. She may think it's ill fitting, but I thought it showed real growth because she was able to *observe* and not deck someone in the face as she previously would've. Draco "snob" Malfoy was a great turn on. Percy is a cool cucumber topped with chili powder, and sweet Harry is just as clueless as he always was (no offense darling).
Joint project no. 1 - Translation - Yaaasss !!!
Head of the DoM - what are you up to ? What are your agendas ? Are you banging the librarian ?
The wards in the library which made Hermione feel unwelcome are fascinating. Come on Hermione, the man has access to a whole library through birthright, that should motivate you to gain access through marriage !!
The whole library tour, the fact that he hasn't brought anybody else ,that he is now encroaching on her personal space, asking her opinions now and most of all allowing her into his office shows some modicum of trust. I bet he was astonished, but pleased that she had no other expectation from Scorpius other than him being happy and his true self. It would've also made him think about his own expectations and familial duties.
A Hermione day sounded amazing !! I love that she's starting to step up of her rigid mindset and brewing without instructions. Which film did she see ?? An already good day ended with the bang with Pansy !! Pansy gave some much needed insight on why Draco blew up, and Hermione was in the serious need of a reality check and Pansy was the best candidate for that as her life is also not perfect.
You devil, when I asked you about swimmer Draco I knew you'd tease, but I never expected to you to drop it in this chapter !! Poor Hermione " I brought a plant" Granger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are you doing Draco Malfoy ??! You are very suspicious 🤨🤨. Why would you stand in your kitchen, WET, making tea ?! Very suspicious indeed !! Tea making in wet swim trunks is something I did not know I wanted Draco to do !! But thank you anyway.
The fact that he knew she would hate the tea he made his mother, she that she was actually stubborn enough to test it out and be proven wrong was just 😂😂😂
Their whole conversation after that was phenomenal !! His research, their common goal to introduce Muggle methods of treatment, their healthy debate about muggles and magic, Hermione revealing her turbulent relationship with her parents and the extremely personal reason behind it, how she keeps saying that they aren't different from each other, discussing Andromeda and setting up a meeting...
The TEA !! Why are you making her tea Mr. Malfoy ??! And why are you that she wouldn't make yours for the same reason you make hers ??
The potions discussion is amazing !! It's going to be challenging and risky, but brewing together at her place for a month ?! Yaaasss - Joint project no. 2 !!
It's also kinda awesome that she didn't just agree to the potion idea without asking for something in return, especially since that is something that he wouldn't have taken the initiative to do on his own.
"Who am I meant to be ?" "Whoever you choose to be." It's all about the choices here Draco darling !!
Poor baby Scorp not knowing what he's going to walk into that morning 😂😂
Tumblr media
The way she asked Draco to keep his arse glued and went after Scorp to comfort him. The actual breakfast-cum-staring contest !! Hermione's softness while helping BB with the straw (daddy's eyes miss nothing)
Excuse me Catherine, why is your face red ?! How old is she ? What's her blood status ? Should I be ready to fight her off ? What do you gain by reporting every single thing to "Mr Malfoy" ? I've got my eyes on you girl 👀👀 (Do I even need to ? I don't know. But you and Olivia are on my list )
Draco signing "tomorrow" ??! Be still my heart
Tumblr media
Yes !!
I'm waiting for more progress, and this took only 20 chapters and 2.8 k words !!
I'm wondering do Hermione or Draco wear any kind of jewelry ? He's tempting her curious nature with that tattoo of his !! Have you added new tags ? Because I was shook by the intimacy, domestic sexual tension and denial of feelings tags !!
As for what stage they're at. I leave that to the interpretation of the reader as they both fumble around in the stages. Both the intimacy and domestic sexual tension have been there for a min, at least a month or so. I don't take tags away, I add them so...I would keep an eye out on them.
As for the meeting, circular table like King Arthur but Draco is essentially to Percy's right. That's a valuable seat anyone in the room would want. As for Hermione, her day out shows her growth from beginning to current in every way. As for Draco's motives, Hermione was early so she intruded in his morning routine. Their talk does set up so much. Also that meme made me die laughing and cry at the same time because embarrassed bb Scorp! 😭😭🤧🤣. He, who was also off routine, got the shock of his life. Everyone in this chapter was off routine. Sorta like an arching theme for the chapter.
Also y'all leave Catherine alone! She's young as hell, is not blind, reports to her boss daily about the movements of his son (so she knows of his level of devotion), and Draco is hot like fire. She is bound to have a little crush on him 🤣. As for the rest of your questions, all that gets answered.
Thanks!

Irresistible
Summary: Robert gets asked on an interview where or in what he finds you, his fiancé, completely irresistible.
Genre: Fluff and very slight smut.
Word Count: 1,292
A/N: This is the first oneshot I have ever written in my life. I hope it is worth reading and it does not have much mistakes. I also hope you will stick around to read my further blogs :) POLITE criticism and future oneshot ideas/requests are always welcome.
Tumblr media
"Hello to one and all, welcome to the Howard Stern Show and we're back with the ever charming and newly engaged Robert Downey Jr!" Howard announced.
"Yes, i sure am all of that; thank you very much." Robert said into the microphone attached to the headset with a wide grin. He just couldn't hold it in anymore, he absolutely had to do this interview. He couldn't wait to tell the whole world that y/n was his soon-to-be-wife. Oh he how loved saying that, that y/n would be his wife. But he knew he had to restrain himself from calling her the missus.
It was…too soon?
Well, for now fiancé would do just fine. He still had to take in the feeling that his beautiful and witty y/n had agreed to marry him.
“I cannot even begin this interview without talking about your beautiful fiancé and how the internet is going absolutely crazy about your engagement, in all the good ways obviously..” Howard said with a light laugh.
“I wouldn't want this interview to start any other way either and yeah... again me and the internet have a lot in common” Robert replied with a light chuckle of his own.
“Like...I mean.. you and y/n did have a little fling back then when you were both shooting Sherlock Holmes and everyone just thought it was just another Hollywood cover page hookup that would be forgotten, but you both actually did go the distance together. And oh! You both hid this for so long with such perfection and now we hear you both are engaged! That's absolutely crazy..” the host beamed with excitement.
“Man, I don't know about the magazines but all those lovely people on the accounts dedicated to me and her on Instagram and Twitter saw it coming” Robert replied.
He absolutely loved reading what the fan accounts had to say about him and y/n.
It was not that he depended on the public opinion to make his choices for him but often his curiosity got the best of him. He wanted to know if the people were as happy of them being together as he was.
Sometimes, if he found one or two good posts, he would often recite them to her.
“Hey y/n” he lightly shouted facing the kitchen while he tried to hold in his laughter.
Y/n peeked her head out of the door “Downey I can cook but you just won’t let me, right? Just trust me on this one, I wouldn’t burn the house down. I mean, i’ll try not to, but that was one time. Second time’s the charm.”
“I did not, for even once doubt your culinary skills sweetheart” he replied with a smirk, “but just come here for one second and see what..” he glanced at the username and this time couldn’t hold in his laugh anymore “...@roberty/nswhore has to say”
Y/n strutted over to the couch, wiping her hands on the way to where Robert was, laughing lightly and then proceeded to take a seat on his lap.
“What?” she asked, now really interested.
He showed her a picture of them at the premiere of Sherlock Holmes that the account had posted. “She says and I quote ‘My mutherfuckin’ parents, just look at how good and powerful they look together. My bi brain is quaking sksksk..”
They both laughed in unison. Y/n didn’t miss the opportunity to plant a quick kiss on his lips and said, “You ever wondered that if they knew you stalked their profiles, would they post more of this stuff or less?”
He double tapped the post and said, “I have absolutely no idea darling.”
Howard laughed and spoke into the mic, “I may have seen one or two of them and let me just say they got what they deserved. You and y/n have one of the most loyal and supportive fan bases”
“Yes we do and I could never be more thankful of the people who don’t forget to remind me that I am still the best and me and y/n make the hottest couple in the entirety of the universe”
“No doubts there. You both do make one of the most hottest couples in Hollywod-“
“-in the universe I said Howard, don’t twist the facts” Robert interrupted with the classic Downey grin.
“I must apologise, you both do make one of the hottest couples in the universe. Right, that sounds way better. So as I was saying, you and y/n are probably the most beautiful people I have ever interviewed. You both get people hot and bothered whenever one of your photos gets out. I just wanted to ask what is something that Y/n does or wear that gets you hot and bothered? And let me just add that I am not taking ‘she’s sexy in everything she does’ as an answer”, he asked with a hint of mischief in his eyes.
“I was just going to say that but…oh god everything she does is actually very sexy. Um..okay. I think I can answer this without getting flustered”
He could not, he knew that.
“Let’s see, I think she’s very sexy when she’s with my girls; Miss Brain and Fuzzy especially. Y/n absolutely loves them and they lover her back. And when she gets competitive. Yeah she’s very competitive, like when she’s playing some sport or a video game or when she had a fight seen with me in Sherlock Holmes. When she gets in the mood of winning and she gets in control, it’s a sight worth watching.” Robert said with a hint of red on his cheeks.
“This is so hot” Robert said as he was straddled by Y/n on top of him, holding his wrists above his head.
“CUT!” Ritchie said from the director’s chair, clearly annoyed and amused simultaneously by the two secret lovers.
“Just try to keep it in your pants Downey. How many more retakes do want?” Y/n asked. They still had not moved from their rather interesting position despite the director yelling cut.
“Just enough of them so that you can feel it through my pants”
“If you don’t shut that witty mouth of yours up and let us get home early, I swear to god I will…” Y/n trailed off.
“You will…?” Robert teasingly asked, not forgetting to slightly roll his hips against hers as she sat right over his crotch. Oh, she could do as many things to him as she wanted for however long she wanted and he would happily comply. He loved teasing her; it brought a side of hers that he found absolutely erotic.
“I will tie you up on this bed, absolutely naked with nothing but a pillow covering ‘it’. And I will make sure it gets into the film as well” Y/n replied with narrowed eyes and a smirk plastered over her lips.
“I’d love to see you try, honey”
“I already said cut! Please move and get a room you two.” Ritchie shouted again.
“I love her in anything she wears or does. I think it’s like she has become my habit, you know? She would wake up in the morning with bed hair but I’d still call her beautiful, because she is. And she becomes even more beautiful the next morning I wake up by her side. She’s the most beautiful and intelligent woman I have ever met, and I am even more grateful that she’ll, one day that is not far away, be my missus.” He couldn’t help but smile the widest he had ever. Every single word that he had spoken was true to its core. He had never been this thankful to anyone in his life. He just hoped that y/n felt the same.
And she did.

Hi Jin! Since you are looking for some DC hc what's your opinion on Flash? Honestly I like his character and his interaction with other heros, esp. Batman. I like to hc that sometimes Flash says/does something so deep and profound completely accidently but it shocks and touches others and they see him in renewed light. If you don't feel like Flash, what about some grandpa Alfred and his horde of superhero grandkids? xD Just some options for you, have fun and thank you for your amazing writing!
So I... don't reallllly have much experience writing for Flash or the Justice League in general? I based Flash's characterization off from what I remember from watching various cartoons and from pannels I've happened across over the years. I need to read his comics. He's such a dork. Anyway, sorry this took a million years DF, hopefully this is sorta what you were wanting <3
Also if you're wondering when exactly this takes place, just know I am constantly rejecting canon and substituting my own 😤
-o-o-o-o-
When Dick was nine years old, he wanted to join Bruce on a Justice League mission.
Bruce—being the clear-headed, calculative, newly foster father that he was—panicked and said he couldn't go on an official League mission until he was twenty-five years old... which is what Bruce was at the time. When Dick tried to argue back, well, Bruce pulled some strings—meaning he glared at the other League members until they agreed—and made it official.
No one under twenty-five would join an official Justice League mission.
Bruce wishes now he set the bar higher and told the young man to just deal with it. Because Dick is twenty-six now, and that's all Bruce can think about as Batman punches his way through an alien spaceship. Twenty-six, somewhere on this ship where Bruce can't see him with a different team comprising of newer members—not because he's untrained, but because there's no one else Bruce would trust to keep the newer recruits alive.
Meanwhile, Batman and other original powerful members of the League fight their way towards the leader of these attacking aliens. The mothership is large, practically a maze, and filled with soldier creatures with no individual agency to note. They're not an Apokolips level threat, but it would still be preferable to stop them before they enter the solar system.
Batman stops in his tracks, slamming his back against the wall to avoid getting blasted by an enemy soldier around the corner. Then, after a beat, he jumps out and launches a baterang at the attacker and takes them down with a few well placed jabs. There's the sound of something creaking violently somewhere behind him, probably Superman or Wonder Woman deciding doors are too tedious to find and the walls are weak enough for them to just plow through.
Which is why Batman is paired with none other than Flash for the moment. Despite his abilities, he can't go vibrating through walls whenever he finds it quicker to do so. He needs to save his strength; which means he's in the same boat as Batman, finding tedious doorways and navigating winding corridor filled with flashing red lights and steaming pipelines.
There's the sound of a blaster loading up to his right where he didn't notice another soldier hiding in the shadows. He just manages to pull up his cape in an attempt to lessen the damage when there's a blur of red and a flash of yellow lightning, the alien goes flying against the wall with a snap, falling limply to the ground.
"You good, B?" Flash asks, stopping in front of Batman with a grin. His voice is light, a little joking. Batman rolls his eyes. "I mean, it's a good thing I was here, It's not normally me who's doing the saving for destracted teammates."
"Let's move," he replies before moving on.
Behind him, he hears Flash sigh dramatically. "Good talk."
They move further into the ship, the blue glow of a fuzzy, half-detailed map hovering from Batman's wrist computer. Flash is a constant chatter behind him, which only serves to remind Batman further of a certain talkative, pun-slinging acrobat somewhere on the other side of the ship, taking down the ship's main controls.
Then, suddenly, the holographic map glitches violently like an old corrupted silent film as the entire ship jolts. A large boom crashes through the air, creaking pipes and tilting the entire gravitational system, causing Batman and Flash to throw their bodies towards the nearest wall as the ship struggles to realign itself.
Batman keeps his grip firm while Bruce keeps his eyes on the map, his stomach dropping when he sees a flashing red dot appear near the ship's main control room.
Nightwing...
"What was that?!" Flash wheezes as the gravity returns to something similar to what it should be, but it's shaky now, like one wrong move and everything will be sent spinning.
"Something exploded in the control room," Batman growls, pushing all thoughts that don't involve the alien leader and finding said alien leader out of his head.
"'Wing's on the other side," Flash says, his voice suddenly devoid of his constant joking and light tone. "You think they're oka-"
"We need to finish this."
And Batman is moving before Flash can argue. He doesn't say he's sure they're fine, or we should turn back, or let me attempt communications; he just moves forward because the mission is important. The world is important.
Whatever trouble the other's have gotten into... he is positive they can handle it.
Then, just moments later, they run into more trouble. Only this time, it's not just one or two mindless soldiers, but a whole group of them. Immediately, Batman launches himself into battle, cape fluttering behind him like an omen, using the shadows between the flashing lights to his advantage. He can hear the static of a speedster's energy all around him as Flash winds between bolts of enemy fire. Batman pushes his companion to the back of his mind, throwing his fist out into slam the door deformed jaw of an attacker.
The ship jolts again, along with the floor beneath him. He grunts as he's thrown into the wall, the explosion sounding like it came from the same area as before. Everything's sideways now: the ship, the gravity, his train of thought. He just manages to grab at clawing hands as an alien jumps on top of him, snarl in its lips and teeth dripping with drool.
The alien screeches, it's taloned feet digging into the Kevlar over his stomach, practically doing it's damnest to gut him open. Batman growls, his stomach twisting as the ship's gravity tries to fix itself once again, causing Batman and the alien to go rumbling from the wall into the floor. Batman grunts as he crashes through a branch of pipeline, landing harshly on the ground and sucking in a breath as his ribs scream at new bruises.
What is going on over there?!
And he doesn't even have a chance to think more into it, because he realizes he's been laying on the ground, worrying, when he should have noticed the alien finding it's bearings and scrambling forward with a scream to attempt to pin him down again.
He bunches up, preparing himself to defend himself at last moment, before there's Flash, once again, coming in at the perfect time. Flash slams the alien into the wall, it's skull making a terrible thunk noise, before it slides to the ground unconscious.
Batman pushes himself to his feet, his ribs throbbing, and opens his mouth to command they keep going, but Flash—in the blink in an eye—ends up right in front of Batman, his mouth twisted in a rare frown.
"What is wrong with you," Flash demands, grabbing into the clasps of Batman's cape and holding Batman in front of him so he can effective snarl in the other man's face. "I was joking before, about you being destracted, but now I think you actually are."
"I'm not destracted," Batman growls back, moving to shove Flash off of him, but the Flash doesn't back down. He tightens his grasp and glares.
"You are. You're destracted and worried for Nightwing because you're a dad-"
"We have a mission to finish-"
"The mission is a failure if you die, Bruce! I can't watch them be told you've died again!"
Everything goes still, nothing but the flashing lights and creaking pipes exists while Barry clutches the clasps of Bruce's cape and breathes hard. Barry swallows roughly, and then gives Bruce a narrowed look.
"When will you realize that?" He asks, sounding close to hysterical. "That your self preservation is worth more than the world to them?"
And Bruce remembers Wally, and Bart, and Iris, and their plans to have kids and find a better house with a bigger lawn. Bruce takes a deep breath and lets Batman take the backseat.
"What do I do?"
Relief flashes through Barry's face. He lets go of Bruce's cape and a smile twitches in his lips. "Go find him. Check on him. Get yourself un-destracted."
"What about you?" Bruce asks, and Barry shrugs, looking way too relaxed now. Like a weight is off his shoulders. Like he can really run now.
"I'm sure Oli is around here somewhere. I'll meet up with him." Barry looks Bruce right in the eye. "We'll finish the mission, it'll be a done in a flash. Just go make sure your kid is okay first."
And for once, Bruce doesn't groan at the pun or argue the phrase his kid. He just nods and turns back the way he came, his legs pumping, to make sure his kid is okay, which he should have remembered in the first place was always the mission. Always the top priority.
He'll have to thank Barry later... and send Iris some flowers.

ever since my first watch of the sequel trilogy, i've been a whore for commander dameron as we know. and i've searched a shit ton of videos on youtube with his scenes and shit, and there was this video that never sat well with me. i never watched it but the title had poe and holdo and misogyny. and don't get me wrong, misogynists can fuck off, but poe wasn't being one of them when he want against holdo. and the way they made her a martyr at the end like she's some sort of hero pisses me off — ✨
buddy i know we’ve already agreed we’re soulmates, but man. we are soulmates. i agree with everything you just said. i’m gonna put this in a read more, because...well i’m me and this is gonna be long, and i don’t want to clog up anyone’s dashboard if they happen to be fans of you know whomst.
you know that “did x effectively utilize girl power” meme that’s been going around? that’s fucking holdo in my opinion, like oh my gosh. I have never understood the idea that Poe was misogynistic, and it annoys me to no end that THREE WHOPPING YEARS LATER it’s still apparently a popular opinion????? fellas [wild hand motions] how???????
(I’ve also seen people call Poe an example of ‘toxic masculinity’ and I’m just. Yes, the man who sews up the jacket in between an evacuation to give to his crush friend and politely introduces himself to Rey and also, yknow, flips his shit when his droid is damaged is a fantastic example of toxic masculinity, I have to laugh /s).
Poe’s actions are not the ones of a “sexist who doesn’t respect women”, they are the actions of someone who is highly and recently traumatized, faced with the VERY REAL threat of losing everything he has left, and the possibility that the person put in charge might actively be trying to tear down everything Leia has fought to build. The Resistance is not the Rebellion, the Resistance is 400 people and a handful of squadrons - that’s it. They didn’t have any support, they’re now actively fleeing for their lives, and now there’s someone in charge who seems plenty happy sacrificing most of their fleet, isn’t offering any hope to anyone, and refuses to trust people with her plan - yeah, I can see how Poe would be thrown and upset, yknow?
I just cannot narratively read tlj in a way that paints Holdo in a good light, or paints her in the “right”, believe me, I have tried. I have tried to like her, but I just can’t. I’ve tried to understand her, and I can’t. Not really. And honestly, the more I explore the film, the more I inspect, the more I think I’m not supposed to?
I already shared an snippet from the tlj novelization, but like. if you thought the film was bad, she is horrible in the novelization. it seems like her favorite past-time is belittling Poe at any chance she can get, even when he hasn’t done anything. He follows her orders and aides in the evacuation of the medical frigate, doesn’t so much put a toe out of line, and she still grounds him inexplicably from aiding in any other evacuations and also bans him from the bridge? The book constantly shows us what the film doesn’t really get a chance to explore: how dire things are on the Raddus. The Resistance is losing hope, more and more people are giving up, and Poe spends most of his scenes trying to boost morale until, finally, when the last support ship goes up, he finally confronts Holdo.
I know some people have said Holdo is “warm and maternal” but I just. cannot see her in that way? I’ve seen Laura Dern play warm and maternal before, but Holdo does not come across that way at all to me. She makes me extremely uncomfortable, the way she’s constantly encroaching on people’s personal space (particularly Poe’s, in their first scene together? It makes my stomach churn). Especially the sequence when Poe’s unconscious and she cups his cheek?? like?? no get away from him do NOT touch him that’s creepy as all hell to me, I feel like hissing like a cat every time it happens like. no??????
I’ve genuinely started calling her “Purple Haired Tarkin” because she reminds me so much of him (and also because he’s the only other character in sw I dislike this much). I’ve actually made a parallel gif of them before, because I noticed how similar the framing is between Poe and her’s conversation with Leia and Tarkin’s on the Death Star.
And honestly, I’m gonna rag on her leadership abilities here for a second. I would like to point something out for a second: in tfa, when the Resistance is working out a strategy against Starkiller, everyone is present including Kaydel, who hasn’t even been made a lieutenant yet. Leia welcomes everyone in, trusts the people who work under her, which inspires trust in her.
Holdo doesn’t do that. You could make an argument that she didn’t trust Poe because of his recent demotion, however, Holdo doesn’t trust anyone except maybe one?? person??? with her plan??? out of the whole Resistance staff? Not to mention the fact that she seems to dismiss almost everyone? The way she calls Poe flyboy drives me up a goshdang wall, but also the way she reacts to Poe telling her about what Finn and Rose are up to “an ex-stormtrooper and a who now?” according to the wookieepedia, she brought...Rose...aboard the Raddus. and can’t be bothered to remember her name? And she doesn’t even consider Finn anything beyond “ex-stormtrooper” despite the fact that he, yknow, helped topple Starkiller and almost died fighting Kylo Ren.
Not to get on my rogue one bullshit, but trust has to go both ways!! rebellions are built on HOPE, Holdo wasn’t nurturing either of those things. In fact she was making things worse: in the novelization, Rose notes there’s rumors going around that Leia has died or that they’re planning a surrender to the First Order, which heavily implies Holdo didn’t even inform people that Leia had survived - Leia, who is constantly heralded as the Resistance’s main source of hope. And she’d ordered the techs to...tase and restrain people who tried to escape?????????????
And I also noticed the last time that I was skimming through TLJ that when Poe confronts her on the bridge finally, Kaydel is nowhere to be found, despite being there the last scene we had on it, where she questions Holdo on what her plan is, which makes me think that she might have banned Kaydel too??? from the bridge??? since Kaydel should be there working as a comms officer???
I’m cutting myself off here but this....isn’t even half of the reasons I dislike her so much. I go into more (coherent) detail in it, in that Kaydel fic I teased earlier but I’m still afraid to post it jatoajtoajtaota

Innocent question, sincere answer, and an honest person || Chris Evans
Pairing: Father!ChrisEvans x Daughter!Reader
Word count: 3,351
Summary: Some questions are answered sincerely, others - not so much. The truth behind a sincere answer can be hurtful to an honest person. It hurts, but it’s the truth.
{A/N}: Not so long ago I watched “Gifted” and it inspired me to write this imagine. I may even do a part two of this (it’s really not how I wanted it to end, but it was getting too long) and to be honest, it takes me a while to write something properly.
English isn’t my native language, I’m so sorry for the mistakes.
Tumblr media
“Probably all of us here in this studio have seen the movie ‘Gifted’?" Ellen asked the audience and they all nodded their heads, shouting something like 'yes', but the sound of applause overshadowed the answer. "I know right, it's a great movie!"
"So please welcome the co-star Chris Evans!" Ellen said, applauding as well. "Unfortunately, the mini copy of him couldn't make it today." She added as she stood up and shook Chris' hand.
Evans sat down in the white armchair after he greeted Ellen and the audience, a big smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, my little girl is with her mother in London. Haven't seen her in two weeks." He pouted, but inside his heart ached.
"I'm sure Y/N misses you too, Evans, and so does your wife." Ellen said and smiled, remembering the adorable little girl from the movie. "Recently released movie ‘Gifted’ left a really great impression for all of us, I believe. For me, I especially noticed the strong bond between the uncle and his niece."
"Yeah, the movie really has a deep meaning and a few good lessons we all could learn from." Chris nodded his head and looked at the woman in front of him.
"The title of the movie itself is a play on words that holds a deeper meaning. I mean, yes, the little girl, Mary, is a gifted individual. She's a mathematical prodigy. However, she is also gifted with her uncle's love. And vice versa. Frank, the uncle, and Mary is a gift to each other. The family itself is a gift, even when said family is of two, three, or four, or not even blood-related.  Meanwhile, Evelyn, Mary's grandmother, Frank's mother, is what happens when you don't appreciate that gift. When you take things for granted. And how fast you can lose them."
"And-and then you have to fight for it if you don't want that to happen," Ellen added, nodding her head in agreement. "So tell me, what was the hardest scene to film? Personally for you?"
"Personally for me," The young man paused, thinking. "I think it would be the final scene between my character, Frank, and his niece, Mary. Their reunion."
"Yeah, the scene was really intense." Ellen nodded, agreeing. "But your little girl did it like a pro. The crying and emotional disclosure, it was really realistic."
"Chris, where were you hiding such a talent?" The woman asked, laughing along with the audience.
The actor chuckled as well, but his face immediately changed as he started talking. "Y/N is a very sensitive person and one of the reasons why I didn't let her act sooner was because people are very cruel these days." He explained.
"And um... I remember one time when she came home from school crying because other kids were bullying her because she was my daughter. My daughter." Chris continued as Ellen's eyes widened a little bit. She didn't understand how people, especially the young ones, could be so merciless. Y/N was just a kid and she was already bullied. "So I guess I just... I want to protect her."
"’Course you do, she’s your child. You only want the best for them, even if they can’t see it, yet." Ellen muffled and looked down, but quickly lifted her gaze up and covered her unpleased feelings with the next question. "What made you change your mind about Y/N and acting?"
"My wife," Chris answered. "She made me realize I can't protect her from everything. I can't stop the world from hurting my kid, but what I can do for them is to be there as a supportive father."
"Your wife is a very wise woman." She complimented and the man nodded his head, agreeing. "So from what I’ve heard now, the final scene between Frank and Mary has a specific place in your heart. It holds a great meaning to you, doesn’t it?"
"The moment between those characters is very special. It shows how much Frank and Mary actually need each other. Their bond, how strong it is. It's very important, in my opinion." Chris explained. "Frank apologizes because he let her go, he gave up. He let his niece down, broke her trust, everything they had. He made a mistake. And he knows it."
"He did all that because he thought he wasn't good enough." Ellen finished for him.
"Yeah, I guess, that's kinda the point." The actor agreed, his eyebrows knitted together a little. "W-we... I and Y/N, rehearsed that scene many times. Whether there were cameras or not, people around us or if we were alone in our hotel room. We just practiced."
"It was not an easy scene.  In general, one of the hardest things actors have to do is to transfer the emotions to the audience." Chris said, looking at Ellen, who was listening carefully. "And it was a hard scene for Y/N, too. Perhaps that's one of the reasons why it means so much to me."
"What do you mean?" The woman asked confused as she moved back a little, trying to get comfy in her seat. "The girl basically nailed it."
"That she did. I'm very proud of her." The corners of his lips lifted a little, but his facial expression became serious soon after he continued talking. "It was a very last minute she realized she actually had to make, you know,  physical contact. That she actually had to hit me. And I guess it scared her, upset her." Chris tried to explain as best as he could.
"Y/N isn't a violent person, she wouldn't hurt a fly, especially her loved ones." The actor continued.
"And.. and did you have to say what? That-that, it was okay to hit you? Or-" Ellen asked, making small gestures with her hands.
"Yeah, something like that." He answered, moving his head a little. "She apologized so many times after the scene and every time I had to comfort her that it was okay, that it wasn't real, you know? She didn’t hurt me."
Ellen nodded her head, understanding what he had in mind. It probably wasn't easy for someone as gentle as Y/N to raise a hand against someone who was raising her and taking care of her, even if it was only for a movie. It's hard to hurt someone who you love and who loves you back.
"You're a leading actor in a lot of big movies, Avengers and Captain America. And now this film, which has just come out." The woman said and some main pictures of the movies started showing on the big screen behind their backs. "How do you manage to balance both your family and your job? I mean, you spend how much time on set? Six months? Seven? More?"
"Yeah, something about six," Chris answered, scratching the back of his neck. "It's hard, you know, to be away from your family. I mean, sure, we facetime each other when we get free time. We text and send pictures to one another on social media, as well, but it's not the same as eye to eye."
Chris was talking so honestly that not only you could tell that he was hurting and telling the truth from his eyes, but you could hear the pain in his voice as well.
Home is where the heart is. It's a timeless old quote. And Chris‘ heart was wherever his family was, it was his safe haven. Every time he was away, his heart was cracking into billions of small pieces of longing, which over time always came back and lunged at his heart with even harder stabs. He missed them. A lot. And every time the actor was far away from them, miles and miles apart, he felt as his soul was being taken. Chris felt like he was missing out so much. And in fact, he was.
He remembers the day where he was away from home, once again, filming yet another movie. That evening he received a video snap from his wife. She filmed Y/N's first steps. He missed that too. He wasn't there when his little girl said her first words either.  Chris never felt so much regret in his life as he felt in that exact moment.
"I feel like I'm missing out on Y/N's life. She's growing up so fast and I'm never home." Chris said, a drop of pain hidden in his voice. "I feel like I'm failing my job as a father to Y/N and a husband to my wife." He said, remembering his little girl's heartbreaking words, how they slipped from her mouth so frailly, full of longing, craving for her dad to be home like a vulnerable snowflake on the warm palm in the silent night.
"Evans," Ellen said meekly, not believing with her own ears what the young actor just said. "You're not a bad father and you're not failing them. God, it's very opposite to that, Chris. Why do you think that in the first place?"
The blonde-haired man looked at the woman, sitting in front of him with eyes full of sadness, a sad small smile on his face as a small flashback started playing in his mind.
"Do you want to go to sleep?" Chris asked Y/N and closed the door of their hotel room. He turned around to look at his daughter, who put her favorite plush teddy bear, which he got her when he and his wife found out they were pregnant, on the bed. She always carried Bowie, the teddy bear, with herself, no matter where she was going. He was her toy-best-friend and friends don't leave each other behind.
"Mmm, I'm not tired yet." Y/N mumbled and climbed up on the bed. Her big eyes following her dad's every move from him taking off his boots to him putting his bag and jacket on the chair.
They had just come back from work, it was a hard day for both of them. They were filming the scene where Frank leaves Mary at the foster "parents'" care. Everything went pretty normally, the director had complimented them, saying the scene was well done and that work for today was done, after all, it was already pretty late. But not everything went that well as everyone thought. Sure, the scene was done, it was great as the producers said, but something was off with Y/N. Chris could tell that something was bothering her, even when she smiled at them, but he was her dad, she could fool anyone, just not him.
Chris looked at the little girl, who was staring at him for a while, and frowned as she dropped her gaze to the ground when their eyes met. She was avoiding him which meant he wasn't wrong, something really was bothering her.
The young actor sighed. "Okay. That's enough." He knelt in front of her and placed his left hand on her knee, causing her to flinch away from him. Chris knitted his eyebrows together. Did he do something wrong?
"What's up with you now? You've been avoiding me ever since we shooted that scene." He asked, trying to make eye contact with her, but when she still didn't let him, the worried father placed his warm palm on her rosy cheek, lifting her head a bit, finally meeting her beautiful eyes, just like her mother's, even if that gaze was shy and timid.
"Cupcake, what's wrong?" Chris asked her softly, his eyes filled with worry as he saw her teary gaze. "Do you miss mum? We can call her if you want." He gently tucked her soft hair behind her ear as he talked. But she shook her head no and closed her eyes for a short moment as tears started streaming down her cheeks, making the young actor's heart ache.
"Then what's wrong?" He asked her patiently. Chris knew that if he raised his voice just a little bit or seemed just a little bit angry or annoyed at her, she would just shut him out even more. Everyone does that, but no one notices. When a person feels horrible he either is quiet or he wants to pour out every problem, every ache he felt in his heart for so long and just once have somebody to listen, and if the listener gets annoyed and makes the other feel more pain, he will just scare the other away. Because no one wants to be not understood.
"Or did somebody hurt you?" The man asked, his eyes flashed with anger for a split second. Because, oh, God help that person who dared to hurt his little girl.
"Uh-uh, I'm good." Y/N murmured. "Everyone is nice to me."
"Then why are you crying?" He asked her, using his thumbs to gently brush away the silver droplets from her cheeks.  "You know you can tell daddy everything. I’m here for you. Always.”
And it was all she needed to finally break. She jumped straight into his arms, burying her face in his chest, her arms firmly wrapped around his waist, laud sobs escaping her mouth. Chris gasped from her so sudden movement, not expecting anything like that to happen, but he quickly hugged her back. His strong arms wrapped themselves around her frail form as his fingers softly rubbed small circles on her back.
"Shh, sweetheart, it's okay, I've got you." He soothed her. "You're safe. But you've still got to tell me what's wrong, baby girl. I need to know."
Chris frowned a little when she murmured something he couldn't make out. The man pulled away from her and brushed the falling salty droplets away.  "I'm sorry, cupcake, but I couldn't hear you. Can you repeat what you said?" He asked her gently and she nodded her head but didn't look at him.
"Please don't leave me." She whispered and there was a moment of silence.
"W-what?" Chris stuttered. His eyes widened and his jaw dropped to the ground. The time itself seemed to slow down and the dead silence hung above them, surrounding both of them as a big angry enemy of theirs.
Chris couldn't take his eyes off of his daughter, he couldn't believe his own ears what he's just heard, what she's just said. Or perhaps he didn't want to. Chris didn't want to believe that Y/N, his beautiful child, would ever think that he (or her mum) would... could ever leave her. He didn't want to think that this kind of thought has ever crossed her mind and how painful it must have been for her to think that he didn't love her enough and someday there would be a day when he'd decide to leave her behind.
He felt his heart crush, then crack into two different yet so similar, full of helplessness halves and finally, it felt like it was cruelly ripped out of his chest and then dropped into the mud without any mercy. The hardest part of being a parent is watching your child hurt and feel helpless. Especially if the cause of that pain is the parent himself.
"Y/N, babe, can you look at me?" Chris asked gently, his eyes full of sadness but glued on her. He took her chin in his hand, gently lifting her face. Y/N watery eyes met his blue ones and his heart clenched in the ache of guilt, knowing he was the reason behind her tears.
"Why would you think that, sweetie?"  He asked her, his thumbs caressing her rosy cheeks gently.
Y/N let out a small sob, closing her eyes tightly and forcing more tears to roll down her cheeks. "B-because that s-scene felt so r-real."
"You're... you're never home and," the little girl whimpered. "and I-I miss you so much."
"Oh, Y/N," he whispered and felt as his own eyes started to well up. He pulled her into his embrace and she laid her head against his chest, letting the tears freely flow and sink into his shirt.
"A-and... and I just want to be worthy of you."
Chris' breath hitched in his throat and he gently pushed Y/N away from him, so that he could look into her eyes once again. "Y/N, you are good enough, you are worthy. I love you for all that you are, all that you have been, and all you are yet to be."
"When you were born, there were a lot of sleepless nights, tiring days, early morning rises because you wanted to see sunrises. There was a lot of salivae, a lot of angry tears and morning cries. There was a lot of food on the ground and me when I tried to feed you. Mum's still the best at this." He chuckled a little.
"But I wouldn't have it any other way: I wouldn't change anything, even if somebody gave me the chance. I would do it over and over again. And I'd be just as much as happy as the first time."
"You are the best thing that has ever happened to me, my little monkey." His daughter smiled at the nickname. "I would never abandon you, Y/N, and neither would your mum. I would never leave you or ignore you when you need a shoulder to cry on. Never forget that and don't let anyone tell you otherwise."
Chris told her, sincerely, and kissed her forehead, pulling her closer to him as Y/N wrapped her arms around her father's neck and softly whispered. "I love you too, dad. Thank you."
"So, I guess at that moment, I did feel like I was failing Y/N and my wife, letting them down," Chris said, looking at Ellen. "But that day we got even closer with Y/N. People fall and then they get up to try again, the only difference is that that that time they know where they stumbled."
Ellen smiled. "Indeed."
Chris continued to talk with such a concentration that he didn't even notice the audience's shocked facial expression and small grins appearing on their faces when a small frame started slinking towards the actor.
Just as he started to notice the odd behavior, he flinched as he felt small delicate hands on his broad shoulders and a loud 'boo' coming from someone behind him. The actor widened his blue eyes and confusingly looked at Ellen who was laughing in her armchair. He turned around and looked at the person who's just scared him only to be surprised even more.
"Hi, daddy!" A cheerful voice greeted him. Chris looked back at Ellen as if not believing his own eyes when he saw his daughter standing just a few steps away from him and was the only one who scared him. He quickly rose up from his seat and swooped his baby girl right into his arms.
Y/N waved at the audience, a big smile playing on her lips. She flashed Ellen a grin and the woman smiled back at the little girl in the father's arms, mouthing something like 'you scared him' to her.
"I thought you were with mummy!" Chris exclaimed, his happy smile not going anywhere as his eyes scanned Y/N's face.
"I am," She answered and looked at the audience, searching for her mother's appearance. "There she is!" Y/N pointed her finger at her mum once she caught a short glimpse of her.
Chris looked over the audience and his face brightened when he saw his wife sitting there, waving at them a little and mouthing a small 'surprise' to him. He kissed his daughter’s temple and tightened his hold on her.
He really was a happy man.
Some answers are hurtful, it stabs you in your heart and leaves you bleeding. But that’s just the truth. What’s more hurtful is to admit it and accept it. And when you finally do it, it may hurt just less.

How RDJ ruined the MCU
... for me, at least.
I'm going to start this off by saying that I have never met R/obert D/owney Jr. and will probably never meet him. This is not an attack on him as a person. I actually respect what he he went through on his road to recovery to be where he is today. This is my opinion on how his relationship with MARVEL Studios has ruined a good portion of the movies in their Cinematic Universe.
Now, I will be the first to admit that I don't like the character of T/ony S/tark. Didn't like him in the comics and don't like him in the MCU. He has some great lines, I'll give you that, but over all he's just an obnoxious ass to pretty much everybody, even the people he professes to love and care the most about. But, like him or hate him, T/ony had a great three-act story. I/ron Man, I/ron Man 2, and The Avengers. We saw him go from the completely uncaring war profiteer to someone who was willing to sacrifice his own life by flying that nuke into the wormhole. That right there, that act of totally selfless heroism was the pinnacle of T/ony S/tark. He has yet, and I don't see that he ever will, to top that moment.
Then Iron Man 3 happened. Mostly agreed upon by the fandom to suck, especially in relation to his other movies, but more so in the sense that this is where T/ony starts to regress back to his original asshat programming. All that aside, IM3 had a satisfying ending, in that he destroyed all of his suits. He chose to retire and live his life with the woman he loves as opposed to fighting on, and there is nothing wrong with that. Ignoring the rest of IM3, that ending was a nice coda to his story before the book slammed shut.
And this is where everything went wrong.
It has been confirmed that RDJ's contract with MARVEL Studios ended after IM3, meaning ever subsequent movie he's appeared in, he specifically negotiated to be in. Knowing a slight something about how contracts work, I know that he negotiated for all that screen time in each movie he's been in. An example would be his turning of what was supposed to be a cameo role in Captain America: Civil War into the co-lead of the movie, despite it being a CAPTAIN AMERICA movie.
What MARVEL should have done after IM3 was offer him a cameo role here and there, without caving to his demands for more screentime and money. If he got outrageous with his demands, they could cut the character from the script. We all know how frugal Disney is, so the fact that they kept caving into his demands is a bit ridiculous. What's even more ridiculous is that he wasn't needed to continue the story. They could have used the Iron Legion and Rhodey to fill in the gap of I/ron M/an in Age of Ultron. Seeing as how they completely took Ultron's origins away from Hank Pym to give them to S/tark, despite the fact that Pym was introduced one of the immediate follow up films, I'm sure they could have come up with something as to how Ultron came to be. Or even select a different villain. It's not like MARVEL doesn't have a surplus of villains to pick from. Hell, they could have picked an entirely different story for Cap 3, because Civil War worked better as an Avengers movie. That's what it was in the comics.
But no, ever movie RDJ appears in within the MCU, he hogs the most screentime, effectively making every movie all about T/ony S/tark, despite the fact that most of the fans that I've spoken to don't actually care for how S/tark is written. In addition to having so many villains, MARVEL also has an enormous cache of heroes that they could use, rather than making S/tark the center of every story, having pretty much everything revolve around him, which all comes back to RDJ and his demands for more.
Enough is enough! Move on, do something else.
And just in case anyone thinks I'm exaggerating about RDJ'S screentime...
Tumblr media
I'm trusting whoever did these because I don't have the time to sit through and do the numbers. Take a look at those totals, even if you subtract the cameos in the post-credit scenes, they don't add up to even remotely the same. The amount of time that RDJ has over Evans is enough to make a whole other movie!
There's a reason that Winter Soldier and Ragnarok and Black Panther did so well, and that's because the plot didn't revolve around T/ony S/tark. He's an interesting character, I'll even concede that point, but not enough to dominate literally every movie he's in.
I would like to conclude this by stating that I tagged everything correctly and that I never once wrote out T/ony's name, so if you're a T/ony stan and you see this post and get angry about it, it's your own fault because you deliberately went looking for it. That being said, if anyone wants to discuss my opinions, I'm totally open to it.

Unpopular opinion but Andy is seeming like more and more of a flop recently lol. I don't trust his judgement at all after the TWD films deal stuff. I just don't see him doing the right thing and leaving his wife. I will wait to see if Danai signs on. Maybe that'll make him look better. But it's become harder and harder to have faith in his decision making skills. He seems silly and complacent.
GIRL, I feel the same way. I’ve been ranting about Andy since Sunday. The decision to further his contract after all the shenanigans and drama about AMC is so odd. Like after what they did to Chandler and to Lauren recently he would still stay with this shitty network? The movie deals sounds so fucking dumb to me I can’t even. They butcher the story in the damn show so we can have solo Rick Grimes Made For TV Movie? Like SyFy or Hallmark or some shit?? WTF?! Why would they make solo Rick movies when everything about Rick is leader, father, a man who would do anything to protect and get back to his family? Does Andy think Rick is Mad Max or Wolverine? Mad Max has movies where he kinda befriend-ish different people in each one. Is that what Andy wants? Or does he think Rick is Wolverine in that even tho he’s in the X-Men movies as a focal point most times, there needs to be solo movies about him? AMC is doing this as a cash grab and I hate that Andy is so welcome to being a part of it. Plus I know he says it all the time but OMG you can so tell Andy doesn't watch the show cause good grief is he describing it as something way more deep than it actually is. I so don't get this choice of his. If he wanted to leave he shoulda just left if he wanted to stay he shoulda just somehow agreed to pop up in way fewer episodes. Rick in the comics uses a cane and is kinda not like a main main anymore so idk why they couldn't just have him have like a real bum leg that makes Michonne takeover.
With Andy making this extremely questionable choice I wouldn't be amazed if he stays in his marriage even if it is loveless (ok idk how his marriage actually is but just saying) I wonder what happen to the reason of him quitting the show to be with his family more. Sounded like he was retiring back in Summer.
I said I was gonna chill on dogging on Andy and wait and see but I get annoyed every time I see this dude is staying at this wack ass AMC. I was also gonna wait for what Danai is gonna do. She’s been silent on promoting the show so who knows. She may leave the show and sign on the the movie deal only like Andy, then I’ll be mad at both of them for a sec lol then go “oooohhhhh this makes way more sense! Sorry Andy!” Lol. Or she could leave AMC all together, which I kinda hope she does. Or sign on to the show, movies, and whatever else and I pray its not this lol. Altho if she’s able to negotiate a salary that is reflective of her status as a breakout star then I’ll just say get them coins girl!

"Best Superhero Movie"
Spider-Man 2 (2004):
Tumblr media
Spider-Man 2? Best Superhero Movie?
That's right, Spiderman 2!
There are Eight Spider-Man films in the Spider-Man lore (Maguire x 3; Webb/Garfield x 2; Holland x2; and an Animated Feature) - What makes Spider-Man 2 better than all other renditions?
The first Raimi Spider-Man (2002) film was excellent and in my opinion more ground breaking to comic/pop culture film than it's Origin Story predecessors, X-Men (2000) and Blade (1998). Spider-Man 2 tops Spiderman because it gets to swing right into action. The First Film in the franchise had to check-off the Origin Story Boxes: Kill off Uncle Ben, Learn to Use Powers, and Establish Social Class & Hierarchy with Peers all before Battling the Baddie, Green Goblin. The first half of the film makes Peter Parker/Spider-Man a Passive Protagonist.
The Second Film we are well versed with Spidey's background and built off the excellent installment which bred a more Active Protagonist with a More Grandiose Action and Sharper graphics.
Then we have Spider-Man 3 (2007)... Out of the Raimi triology it grossed the most money but toppled the franchise. The World Still Doesn't Know How...
Tumblr media
Then we had the Webb/Garfield The Amazing Spider-Mans (2012 & 2014) reboots which had the advantage of better technology and a large sample base of what comic book fans and movie goers were looking for in a superhero film (there were 6 MCU films - Iron Man to Avengers - before Amazing Spider-Man's July 3rd release - 9 by the time we got to Amazing Spider-Man2), but The Amazing Spider-Man managed to dismantle the charm of the Raimi franchise. The Amazing Spider-Man produced lesser plots, villians, and protagonist.
Tumblr media
Then we have the Watts/Holland's Spiderman: Homecoming (2017) and Far From Home (2019) which are fabulous. Both films coming off the momentum of the MCU franchise are packed with powerful punches in a John Hughes fashion - Great Villians and Refreshing take on Peter Parker/Spidey, but as standalone films they seem to stand in the shadows of the MCU's Iron Man. Both Villians are birthed through hatred of Tony Stark and The Avengers which turns Spider-Man movies into a spinoff rather than a solo film.
Also with the Stark/Parker dynamic - Holland's Spidey comes off as a people pleaser who is trying to live up to someone else's standards compared to Raimi/ Maguire's version where we get a Spider-Man who makes his own conscious decision to stand up to injustice and learns how to be a superhero along the way making for a greater story arc.
Tumblr media
Now Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse is another tough contender - An absolutely fresh superhero movie which shows how much you can play with a Superhero Universe by giving us multiple perspectives from different Spideys. Perfect Characters mixed with humor and action - not just a Great Animated movie but a Straight-Up Excellent Movie, period.
I still have to choose Spider-Man 2 over Spiderverse as the latter is essentially an Origin Story which gets caught up more in self reflections than battles. If they make a sequel my tune could very well change.
Don't cry Spiderverse...Be Proud... You won an Oscar:
Tumblr media
Now... Let's Machete through the MCU.
What makes Spider-Man compelling is Peter Parker did not choose to have Super Powers - he was bitten by a radioactive spider and made a conscious decision to use his newly gained abilities to fight evil.
Iron, Capt America, Thor, and Black Panther sought out their fights. They wanted their powers and abilities. The internal struggle with Parker/Spidey is he wants a normal life but cannot have one as it will bring harm amongst his loved ones - in Spider-Man 2 we see Parker try to give up Superhero antics for a life of normalcy where he can have a relationship and go to school, but in the end Parker realizes his responsibilities and decides it's best to live in secrecy. Stark, Rogers, Thor's lives are their Superhero identities in the film - They have nothing to hide - they are open books to the public.
Then you have The Hulk and Ant-Man:
Ant-Man/Lang is just aloof - just falling into plots and action haphazardly. Portrayed as more of a Slapstick Hero.
The Hulk/Banner does have a compelling story kind of like Spider-Man in a sense he to did not want his "powers".
Where they differ is Banner sulks way too much - We get it - You have no control - whereas Parker is more of a trooper who plays with the cards he is dealt. In Spider-Man 2 we see multiple times that Parker tries to do the right thing but can't please the ones closest to him: Let's down his boss, his professor/studies, his aunt, friends, and his crush Mary Jane - the struggle is real.
But what about the Team Ups? Avengers, Infinity War, End Game... even Guardians of the Galaxy... Surely they rival Spider-Man 2...
Well, They are Excellent and well crafted films - they effortlessly did what hardly any X-Men film could which is make an ensemble picture - multiple egos sharing screen time, Bravo.
Where I think they lose out is most of the stories draw conflict from internal bouts with other teammates. The stories will have the big baddies on the horizon ready for a battle, but the audience is taken on a side-bar to figure out the Heroes petty squabbles with their coworkers - Trust me - if they were real grown ass adults Capt America: Civil War could have been avoided.
Heck, Loki's first/main tatic in Avengers was to pit the team against each other - c'mon - same team guys...
Tumblr media
So... We are done with Spider-Man 2 versus Marvel Universe...
Up Next... The DCU.
And There is Only One True Contender:
Tumblr media
Through my research 95% of the time The Dark Knight comes up as the #1 Best Superhero Movie of All Time.
Claims that it was ahead of its time and that it is more than a Superhero Movie - It's a Crime Movie - No, no, it's a Cinematic Masterpiece.
A film that was able to capture a gritty darkness set in a realistic world.
The Joker steals the show - No other villian performance can rival.
And I agree. It is a well layed out Crime Drama which was nominated for multiple Oscars (with Ledger picking up one for his Joker performance) and Nolan did make a very plausible world.
But does that make it the Best Superhero Movie?
You already know my answer is "No".
For all the reasons why it is so reverred is what holds it back.
We are talking Superhero Movies - who wants to see a story played out in a super realistic world. Plus the Camp and Cheese of Comic Book movies is part of the appeal. And if we are talking Dark/Grittiness we got that with the Burton Batmans (excellent films as well) - Nolanites, I am sorry to tell you Christopher didn't invent style.
You want a Crime Drama - watch Heat (1995) . So many critics paired The Dark Knight to Heat ( a great movie) but again we are talking Superhero movies.
Finally, Heath Ledger's Joker launched multitude of character studies for years to come and it is well deserved... but the funny thing is he is the Villian... The Villian is more compelling than the Protagonist!
No one talks about Christain Bale's Bruce/Batman when they talk Dark Knight. Our hero is overshadowed! This is why Michael Keaton is my Batman.

We no longer have a Superhero Movie...We have a Villian Flick.
It's almost as if Nolan tried so hard to make a movie that appeals to a wider pretentious audience beyond the comic book crowd that he put too much emphasis on the baddie and not enough on the hero. The Joker drives Batman that entire film making him a passive protagonist.

Spider-Man 2 is a perfect mix/balance of all of the above...
We have a hero that constantly sacrifices.
A man who just wants to deliver pizzas and go on dates but is busy taking on a Megalomaniac with Mechanical Arms - who by the way Spider-Man inadvertently creates by trying to do the right thing - while also trying to transverse a rocky relationship with his best friend - who happens to be the Son of The Green Goblin - The Villian who died during battle with the Protagonist.
Alfred Molina's Doc Ock is excellent. His villian mission is plausible and his hatred for Spider-Man is justified making for epic battles.
Lastly, the humor/comedy lands just when it should and when action takes place it is on Fire!
