“Ugh, you know I don’t do double VHS.” Steve waved off Robin’s Saturday morning movie suggestion.
“But it’s about doomed love,” Robin tried again, clutching the video tape to her chest.
“Oh, well, that’s relatable.” Steve grabbed a cart full of movies to be restocked, swerving around a rampaging Robin.
“Precisely.”
You flipped around a movie in the new releases section that someone had fumbled with at some point or another, adjusting it so the poster was facing outwards, half-paying attention to the conversation going on between your two friends/coworkers.
“Also, Julie Christie is b-b-bonkers hot in this.” You snorted at Robin’s comment, and she tossed a sly grin your way before continuing on her rant about the most gorgeous creature she’d ever seen.
“We’re in Forest Hills trailer park in east Roane County.” Your neck cracked with the speed at which you turned your head towards the television Robin had just turned on, seeing both her and Steve staring up at the reporter.
“We don’t have a lot of details right now, but we can confirm that the body of a Hawkins High student was discovered early this morning. Police have not yet issued the victims name…”
“Holy shit,” Steve said.
You swore you could’ve fainted at that very moment. You felt dizzy, started to sweat, felt your hands shake—so much that you tossed the videos you were holding onto the counter, catching Steve and Robin’s attention.
“Hey, are you okay?” Steve asked, glancing at you and clocking how frazzled you looked.
“Th-that’s where Eddie lives. Forest Hills trailer park.” You hopped up the step to behind the counter, trying to see behind the reporter.
“No. Shit. That’s his trailer. Oh my god, that’s his trailer.”
“Hey, woah, woah, woah, calm down. How can you be sure—”
“Because Steve! I practically live there half the fucking time! I think I know what my boyfriend’s home looks like.” You felt like throwing up. Seriously, you needed some air.
"Okay, well when did you see him last?" Robin started, trying to console you before you erupted into full-blown mass panic mode. She set her hands on your shoulders.
"Last night. I went by the drama room to wish him good luck—you know, because of the campaign—" Robin nodded her head, urging you on. "It was normal, I don't know, I-love-you-see-you-later shit, but then I left to go watch Lucas! I didn't see him after that because he said he had a deal, that he had to go home and get something else f-for—"
"For what? For who?" Robin couldn't handle the suspense.
"For Chrissy Cunningham."
"Chrissy does drugs? Huh, that's interesting." Steve cocked his head, slipped his hand under his chin, contemplating the actions of the cheerleader you spoke of.
"Steve! That is not the focus right now. Besides, everyone has their moments," Robin berated her once jock-worthy friend.
"Right. No, you're right."
You separated yourself from Robin’s clutches, moving out from behind the counter. “I need to check on Wayne.”
“Wayne?” Steve questioned, looking at Robin who watched you disappear around the corner.
“Eddie’s uncle, Harrington. Keep up.” Robin clapped her hands. “She’s been with the boy for, like, ever.” Her focused shifted though, as Dustin and Max appeared, the former hurling himself over the countertop.
You collected your things from the staff room, ignoring the bickering from the other side of the door. Wayne was home, obviously, it was day time, but if the cops were there, no way was he gonna answer the phone. Maybe you should’ve gone to hunt for your boyfriend right away, but you couldn’t bear to not check on the boy’s uncle, who was probably just in the dark as you were—if not more.
It took you a little longer to get going, hands shaking so much that you dropped your keys, and then remembered to clock out. You scribbled an excuse on a sticky note in case Keith questioned your early departure on the schedule when he came in on Monday.
Pushing the green painted wood open, you slammed into Steve, who’d just finished helping a young woman, and put his hands out to steady you.
You turned your head, taking in Max, Dustin and Robin chatting wildly on three separate phones, all pacing equally. “What are they doing?” You asked, straightening Steve’s vest where you’d messed it up.
He mumbled something about Eddie’s friends when Max waved to get your attention, slamming the receiver down. “Do you know a ‘Reefer Rick’?”
The question was so odd, coming from her, that you shook your head before answering. “Yeah, Eddie’s supplier. Why?”
“Do you know where he lives? We’re trying to find Eddie.”
“Uh,” you rubbed your forehead, recalling the couple times Eddie had needed to stock up and you’d been with him. “Out by Lovers Lake.”
Dustin slammed his phone down at this new information, the group now frantic with chatter about your boyfriend’s whereabouts. You started toward the door, stressed and suddenly sweaty, when Dustin flew out from behind the counter, stopping you.
“Where are you going? Don’t you want to come look for your significant other?”
“Of course I do, Dustin. But I’m going to check on Eddie’s uncle. I don’t like the idea of him being left in the dark during all this. It isn’t fair.”
Dustin lifted his hat from his head, readjusting it and then setting it right back down.
“Okay.” He let out a breath that sounded like he’d been holding it in for a while. “Well what if he’s there? At Rick’s? Can you meet us there after your excursion? I don’t feel right looking for him without you.”
“Yeah, Dustin.” He gave you a hopeful high five, your palm stinging as you pushed your way out of the door.
————
Pulling into Forest Hills, your hands started to shake. What if they wouldn’t let you in?
You stopped beside the cop monitoring the entrance, rolling down your window.
“I’m sorry, miss. I can’t let you in. We’ve got an active crime scene on our hands.” Shit.
You took a deep breath, trying to keep yourself from stumbling over your words. “I apologize, officer. It’s just that I have a family member that lives here, and I’d really like to check on him. Just for a moment. I’m worried sick.”
The officer straightened from where he’d been level with your window, placing his hands on his hips. He looked around, looked back at you, looked up again. His resolve was slipping.
“Okay. I understand. But you have to be quick, okay? There’s a lot going on that I don’t want you getting caught up in.”
“Thank you officer, really.”
You cranked the handle, rolling up the glass panel and pulled off, trying to find somewhere to stop considering your boyfriend’s home was the crime scene. Eyes scanning for Wayne, you found purchase.
He was sat up against the geometric dome that was meant to be the designated play ground area. Except all the kids in the park had grown up at this point, so now everyone sat there to sulk or smoke.
The slam of your car door caught his attention, and he stood on seeing you, moving in your direction. He met you halfway, holding his arms out. That’s how you knew he was tired. Scared. Confused.
Wayne Munson was no cuddle-bug, but he had no aversion to hugs if he really knew you. But letting you see this much emotion right off the bat, letting you in, that’s how you knew he was hurting. This was his boy they were talking about. Where was his boy?
He was warm from being outside, and smelled of cigarettes. You pretended not to see the tear tracks left in the thin layer of dust on his cheeks. He didn’t let go for a long time.
“Have you seen him? Heard from him?”
You sniffled. “No. Not since last night. I saw him before Hellfire, but that’s all.”
Wayne wiped a hand down his face. “Did he seem alright?”
“More than. You know they were supposed to finish th—”
“The campaign. Yeah. How could I not know?” He smiled, and you could tell he was seeing Eddie hunched over the kitchen counter, pencil in his mouth.
He briefly filled you in. “They’re saying he did this. Killed that girl. But I know Eddie. He’s my boy and he didn’t do it. He couldn’t.”
“I know he didn’t. I’m sorry you had to find her. I’m going to look for him, okay? I probably shouldn’t tell you that, but I figured you needed to know. If I get to him, I’ll come tell you, okay? I’m so sorry, Wayne.”
Another hug. More reassurance on your part, on his, telling you that you couldn’t have known. You asked if he needed anything, but he said the cops were supposed to figure out where to put him soon. And that was it. You left him there, and sobbed in the car knowing how sick he was over his boy. Knowing what’d he’d seen, how frightened he was.
————
“Eddie! It’s me! It’s Dustin!”
The young boy tried so hard to get his older friend to hear him, to calm down. But that was kind of impossible given the situation. He tried to understand.
“You won’t believe me.” Eddie’s voice was broken, his eyes glassy, his fingers going numb from his grip on the broken bottle.
“Try us.” Max knew what it felt like to be that confused. To be that uneasy. But he spilled his guts, and now the group of unlikely friends sat with him.
The slam of a car door made Eddie jump, made Dustin shoot up from his spot on the floor. Dustin peeked over the window sill, spying you looking a little lost at where they might be, so he hurried outside, much to the dismay of everyone else, scaring the shit out of you, but making you hopeful nonetheless.
“Any luck?” You whispered, not quite grasping his sudden appearance from the boathouse.
“Yeah! Yeah. He’s in there. And he’s scared shitless, but he’s okay.”
“Really?” Your eyes were glazing over and there was nothing you could do about it. He was alright.
“Really.” And he took your hand, leading you back and gently pushing the door the rest of the way open. He let you in first, lingering behind.
You moved in, eyes scanning for him, first roving over Steve, Max, Robin. But there he was. Up against the wall, hands in his hair. He looked up at you, and visibly softened, but sunk in on himself nonetheless.
“Baby.”
“Eddie.” You dropped your bag, not giving him time to stand, moving to meet him on the floor.
Your knees met chilly concrete, and you went to reach out for him, but you stopped yourself, noticing how broken he looked. “Eddie? Is this okay? If I touch you?”
“Y-yeah.” He nodded as he said it, eyes moving quickly back and forth between yours. To Eddie, even though there were four other people in the room, it felt like everything else faded away the second you walked in. You came for him. You’d believe him. He knew you would.
You opened your arms, and he fell into them, arms going around your back, head falling to your chest. He buried his face against you, squeezed you so hard it hurt, but fuck if you were going to tell him to let up.
You ran your hand soothingly over his head, gently untangling curls without the intention of doing so. Glancing up, you met Dustin’s eyes, and he gave you a small smile. “Thank you,” he mouthed. Dustin wanted to thank you for putting up with him, for letting him steal your boyfriend, for being so kind, for calming Eddie down. For everything.
“I went to see Wayne, Eddie,” you told him, moving your hand to rub his back. The boy perked up at that, looking at you with fear all over his face considering what he’d done.
“I-is he…is he m-mad at me?” He looked so young, so fragile.
“No, he’s not mad at you, sweetheart. He’s just worried. Scared. Wants his boy safe.”
Eddie winced, but pulled away from you anyhow. You brushed his bangs away from his eyes, straightened his vest, buttoned a chest pocket. “Do you think you could tell me what happened, maybe? You don’t have to now, really you don’t. But whatever it is, I believe you, okay?”
He hummed in reply, and relayed the story again for you, even if it hurt, and the rest of them tried to catch you up on their theory.
What you didn’t see was Robin turning to Steve, eyes softening at the way you and Eddie interacted with one another. How that scared look in your eye that had been there at the store was gone, just from seeing him. How Eddie’s hands had stopped shaking at your presence. How he wasn’t afraid to be vulnerable with you, and how much you cared for him.
But he made it so easy for you.
————
“Shit! Shit!” You stumbled over your own feet, hopping over ever root and vine you met in your path, trying not to make your presence known.
You’d been with Steve, Robin, and Nancy. The four of you were meant to go to Creel House while Eddie and Dustin distracted those fucking bats.
But you had this feeling. This sick, sick feeling.
It was eating you alive. It was something Eddie sad at Skull Rock. Something about running. And then right before you parted ways. When he’d kissed your head and muttered in Steve’s direction, “Trust me. We are no heroes.”
And standing there with your friends, trying to save the world, you ran. Ran for Eddie’s sake. Because he was going to do something. You just knew it. Some sacrificial lamb shit.
And it hurts, the running. Your legs are burning. It’s the kind of running you haven’t done since you were a kid. The desperate kind. But this time it’s not in order to beat a friend to the finish line, to win a competition. It’s to get to your boyfriend. Because you’re afraid he’s going to die.
And you can hear them. The bats. Their horrid screams, the leathery and wet rasp of wings, of tails thrashing in their rage, their determination to get to the source of that noise. The noise that had just quit.
You’d just caught the end of Eddie’s playing, and barely had time to think about how he’d finished it. He’d been determined to finish that fucking song and it’d been two weeks.
But none of that mattered.
Because you could see the trailer now, and it hadn’t occurred to you that maybe you wouldn’t be able to get in. That was the point of their reinforcements, anyways.
You stumbled up the concrete stairs, reaching for the door handle, trying to ignore the ever increasing sound of the bats, the sounds of them closing in. You didn’t dare glance over your shoulder, knowing they’d be right there.
Wrenching open the door, metal screeching, you almost smacked into Eddie. He’d been holding onto the sheets, but he had that look in his eye. The decisive one. And then he heard you clattering in and he practically tumbled free from his hold on the fabric.
“What the hell are you doing here?” You looked up seeing Dustin, who looked equally as frightened and desperate for Eddie to get to the other side.
“Whatever it is that you’re thinking, stop it. Go. Now. Climb.”
Eddie looked at you. Really looked at you. A look that said I need to do this. I need it. “You first.” He backed away, beckoning you forward.
“No.”
“No?”
“You go. Now.”
“Baby, please go. I’m begging you. If I go now, I can buy more time. I know it.”
Eddie looked desperate. He needed this. Needed to know he was good for something. He’d been such a failure. And he could do this. He could be good.
“No! Fucking go, Eddie! Now!”
He blinked at you, not expecting the change he found in your voice. He’d never heard you sound like that before. So angry. So angry at him.
So he let up, reaching and pulling himself towards Dustin. Towards home.
You felt like a weight had been lifted off your shoulders. And then you tried to get yourself up, calming considering in the time that you’d stood there, the noise had stopped—the bats had stopped. Your friends had done their job.
You pulled and it hurt, but you did it anyways.
————
It had been three days since Eddie almost sacrificed himself and you’d been avoiding him ever since. He knew why you hadn’t come to see him, and he was upset at himself for hurting you, for not realizing you could read him so well. But it felt like that was the only way to prove himself.
And now he was living in a fucking tent in the Wheeler’s basement, supposedly like some girl with superpowers had.
The boy was flipping through one of Mike’s old X-Men comics when the sheet providing him refuge was torn back. Dustin appeared, making Eddie jump. “Jesus Christ!”
“Here.” Dustin threw a hand radio at him and then vanished again. It took him a minute before he realized you had one too.
A few guesses later on what channel he needed, he found you.
“Hey, I know you can hear me, baby. I know you’re mad.”
You reached for radio where it resided under your bed, stretching so that you didn’t have to actually get up, the chill of hardwoods meeting your fingers.
As much as you wanted to pretend you couldn’t hear shit, you wanted to talk to him. Something was really wrong if he thought he’d needed to do that. And maybe it was wrong of you to be upset, but you loved him. He didn’t need to complete some grand act of service to be redeemed, he was already your hero.
“Afternoon, Munson.”
Eddie slumped down inside his tent, smacking his head on the wall. He really was too lanky to be living in there.
“Son of a bitch!” He rubbed his hand, skull throbbing from the impact. “Hey, honey, please come see me. I wanna talk to you. Please.”
“Yeah. Yeah, fine. Unlock the basement door, okay?”
————
You sat against the support beam at the bottom of the stairs, watching Eddie tie up the sheet so it’d quit falling down and he could see you properly.
Your lower back started to ache and he noticed, passing you a smushed pillow. Silence filled the hair until you decided to breach the surface. “What were you gonna do, Eddie?”
He scrubbed his hands over his face, fingers bare of their usual silver, as the rings sat in a pile of his other shit, metal accoutrements proving incredibly uncomfortable to sleep in when living on the floor.
“Buy more time. I thought that if I could get the bats to back off, that they would’ve had the chance to kill Vecna. That Dustin could get home okay. I don’t know. And don’t give me that look.”
“I didn’t want anyone else to get hurt. I could’ve done it. I swear. I just wanted to be good for something for once in my fucking life. Prove that I’m not this—this thing. This nuisance. This monster.”
“I guess I thought I could be the hero for once.”
You moved towards him, sitting on your knees and taking his hands into yours. He wouldn’t look at you, eyes darting around the basement walls, the old furniture indented from years of bodies molding the cushions.
“I understand. But I wish you didn’t feel that way. I wish I could fix it. I’m sorry I didn’t come to see you sooner. I was just upset because I had this feeling, Eddie. I thought you were going to die.”
“But, Edward Munson, you are not a monster. You aren’t a nuisance. Anyone that’s ever thought that is a piece of shit and you know that
You put your hand on his cheek and he blinked. Hard.
“Eddie, look at me, please.”
The boy turned to you, looking just as young and fragile as he had in the boathouse. He looked disappointed in himself.
“You’re my hero.”
Eddie bit the inside of his lip so hard he tasted blood, forcing himself not to cry.
“Your Gareth’s hero. Mike and Lucas’ hero. Eddie, your Dustin’s hero. But, sweetheart, you didn’t have to save the world to prove yourself. You’re everything to me. To your friends. To Wayne.”
That was the tipping point. Uncle Wayne. And the tears slipped out, silent and calmly, easily sliding down his finally clean cheeks.
“R-really? I’m your hero?” Eddie’s hands were shaking.
“Yeah! Of course you’re my hero, Eddie. You’re such a badass, you know.” A grin pulled at the corners of his mouth. “You are not a monster. I’ll spend every day for the rest of my life telling you that if you’d like. I’d do anything for you.”
“You didn’t need to save the world by fighting off demo-bats, Ed. You’ve saved it by being you. By shepherding those little sheepies. Shit, you’re so good, Eddie. You’re golden.”
Eddie Munson had been waiting his whole life for those words. For someone to reassure him that he wasn’t this sick creature. This freak. And he was your hero. That was better than anything in the whole world to him.
————
Wayne rested against the cool brick that constructed Hawkins High School. His current place of refuge post-earthquake. Pulling his flannel closer his chest to keep out the wind, he reached in his pockets for a lighter and a pack of Marlboros.
He didn’t look up at the sound of gravel crunching around him, used to the noise of other people fluttering around him.
“Any chance you’d lend me one of those?”
Wayne’s hands froze from where they’d been peeling the plastic wrap off of the new cardboard box. He knew that voice. But he thought it was a trick. He looked up anyways.
And there, standing in this alleyway, somewhere he definitely shouldn’t be, was his boy. Eddie’s hands were in his pockets, a bandana over his forehead.
He smiled that award-winning smile, the one he’d used on Wayne as a kid when he wanted pancakes or temporary tattoos from the coin machine at the grocery store.
Eddie made his way over to his uncle, to—let’s face it—his dad. Wayne enveloped the boy in his arms, squeezing way too tight, but Eddie wasn’t going to complain. “My boy.”
Eddie rested his head on his uncle’s shoulder, breathing in that familiar scent that never seemed to go away, of cigarettes and the came cologne he’d been wearing since Eddie was a toddler. That smell he’d welcome after a rough day at school, after he’d done well on a science project.
“I never gave up. I never stopped looking. I knew you didn’t do it. Not my boy.”
“Thanks, uncle Wayne. For everything. I love you.”
“I love you too, kiddo.”

Yay 😁 Winwin's story is now done!
It's only been what, a few days, since I asked for help with my smut story for NCT/Wayv Winwin, which previously caused me a lot of grief. You helped me loosen my writer's block big time! I've now completed a first draft I'm very happy with, and it's all thanks to your responses 😊😘
One in particular got me writing well into the night (it takes maybe 6 hours to write the first draft of any one of these stories). I won't reveal too much, but let me give you a hint:
MILF 😏😜🍆💦
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
With Winwin's story "done" (again, I still need to edit and then proofread all six of the remaining stories of the Most Memorable Sexual Experiences of NCT series before I begin to publish them), only one (also wide-eared 😁😍) member remains: LUCAS.
Since your suggestions for Winwin helped so much to get my creativity going, I'll ask for the same help with Lucas: If you want to, send me an Ask with your suggestions for what kind of sexual experience and storyline I can put Lucas through 😊
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It will likely be another month before I start the final "season" of this series, but I still have loads more Quick Fix stories coming your way while you wait. If you didn't see the one with TXT Beomgyu's steamy shower sex scene I published this week, check that out now. And in just a few hours (Saturday Feb 24), you'll get a much wilder imagine in which NCT Johnny and Yuta double penetrate you 😱😏🎉
I can't say it enough, but thanks for following and reading all my smut, and especially for engaging with me as I can't stress enough how much that means 😊 Your presence here is what makes me want to keep writing, and keep the blog alive for a long time to come!

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
“Hey it’s Mark– dude, shut up! Uhhh what was I saying? Oh yeah, just leave a message and I’ll get back to you whenever I can.”
“Mark? Um, Minhyung? It’s me. Y/n. Look, I know that we haven’t spoken in a long time but you said. . .”–you shake your head, as if it would miraculously banish the memory from your mind–“no, that doesn’t matter. At least probably not to you. Um, listen, if this is the Minhyung who prefers chocolate covered bananas over chocolate covered strawberries, and who told Youngho that the hideous red shirt with the blue stripes looked good on him, and who helped me count poker chips in Italy, then I really need your help. Please, please call me back.”
*
There were some moments that wished you could take back in your life. Meeting Lee Minhyung wasn’t one of them. Leaving him, however, was. It was nothing dramatic, nothing like those scenes in movies. There was no crying on either end but there was, however, heavy pleading from his side.
(In the years to come, his pleading would haunt you. The way his voice was small and how it trembled. Not to mention how he looked at you. God how he looked at you. He looked at you like he was being ripped apart from the seams.)
But you had to go. The life you two lead wasn’t a sustainable one, not anymore. Not since your older brother disappeared without a trace. Without you. And you were so exhausted. It was the bone deep kind of exhaustion that was built in layers by one too many brushes with death, run-ins with the police along with a hefty dose of the constant fear of living. How long had it been since you could roam the streets freely without the low thrum of unease?
It had been far too long for you to remember.
“You know what will happen once they notice your gone, right? It’s safer here! With me! Youngho might even come back!”
“I can’t keep doing this anymore.” You replied quietly, your grip tightening on the straps of your backpack that you hastily stuffed with essentials.
“But–”
“I’m tired, Minhyung, so tired,” you refused to meet his eyes as you said it, hating the expression he wore. “Please let me go.”
You would have offered him to come with you, the words were on the tip of your tongue, ready to be spoken at any moment. But you wouldn’t ask that of him. Minhyung had his parents to think about and he wouldn’t risk their lives, not even for you. And even if he had offered to join you, you would have declined for that reason alone. You weren’t going to make him choose, even as the ugly voice in the back of your told you that if you begged hard enough, he’d go with you.
“I’ll miss you.” Minhyung said as he reached for your hand and you allowed him to hold onto it, slowly meeting his eyes. His watery eyes were scanning your face as if he wanted to commit you to memory. And he probably did. You were leaving him after all. After a few more seconds of staring, he released his warm grasp on your hand and raised his own to cover his eyes. “Go,” he said before he clenched jaw tightly. “If you don’t go now, you’ll be caught.”
“I’ll miss you.” You echoed quietly and allowed yourself to look at him from head to toe, just one more time, and then you fled seamlessly into the darkness of the night.
*
Minhyung hasn’t asked any questions. He hasn’t asked why your hair is dirty and matted or why your clothes are grimy and discolored. He hasn’t even commented on the fact that you’re emitting a putrid stench–not that he would ever. Minhyung had always been too kind to say anything that would make someone feel embarrassed or ashamed. In fact, instead of saying anything, his grip on the steering wheel is tight enough that his knuckles are white. The speed that he’s driving at is concerning but then again you suppose that the way your entire body is aching is a large cause for concern, too.
You want to shut your eyes, maybe pretend that you are some place else. You could pretend that you are relaxing with Youngho at your side, telling you a funny anecdote that you’ve heard a thousand times before.
But you can’t do that.
There are loud warning bells in your head telling you that you aren’t safe, not yet. But you’re with Minhyung. This is the boy, man now, actually, that you know, no, used to know like the back of your hand. The man who was literally your partner in crime. And he called you back. He called you back. Even after all this time, he’s helping you. Surely that has to count for something, doesn’t it?
“Hey! Hey,” he says, a clear tinge of panic in his voice, “stay with me, y/n!”
“Safe with you, yeah?” Your voice comes out a little rough around the edges and slurred.
“Of course. Definitely. You’re always safe with me.”
“Need some sleep, Minhyung. G’na close my eyes, ‘kay?”
There’s a string of curses in reply as your eyes flutter close. You want to dream of pleasant things and the only way you can think to achieve that is to block out Minhyung and retrieve an old memory.
*
Youngho had Minhyung in a headlock, rubbing at his hair affectionately. You sat on the couch, laughing at their antics. The three of you were obviously still giddy from the outcome from the previous night.
It was your first job and it went smoothly. Youngho had worried tremendously and frequently spoke into your ear piece but you and Minhyung had done great. Compared to what Youngho had to do on a regular basis, it was nothing extremely dangerous. Besides, a seasoned member of the team did most of the talking so it wasn’t as if it you and Minhyung had a major role in the operation. Regardless of your role, the pay was good. Really good.
“Let’s get ice-cream!” Your brother suggested as he finally released his hold on Minhyung. His grin was wide, already making his way to the shoe rack that was positioned by the door.
You shared a pleased smile with Minhyung as you stood up and followed your brother. “Can we do a movie marathon too?”
“Absolutely!” he said once he slipped on his shoes, “we can stop by seven-eleven and by some snacks.”
Minhyung whooped loudly and you couldn’t help but beam at your brother as you looped your arm through Minhyung’s. In turn, Youngho ruffled your hair and pinched your both of your cheeks, and laughed as he dodged your lame attempt at hitting his bicep.
*
You can see Youngho laughing vividly, his eyes the shape of pretty crescents with his head thrown forward, while you and Minhyung throw bits of popcorn at each other. But then the vision starts to slip away and you desperately want to cling on to it, even as your eyes slowly open on their own accord. The brightness that spills into the room from the window causes a dull pain in them. You shut your eyes a moment later, trying to bring the dream back but it’s completely useless. The door opens just as you open them again. Minhyung’s expression changes to one of relief when he looks at you and is quick to sit by your side.
“What’s the damage doc?” You try for a light, playful tone but instead it comes out with a wince, your voice coarse with disuse.
“Worse than Mexico but better than Italy.”
You huff out a laugh that’s entirely too bitter. “Anything is better than Italy.”
Minhyung purses his lips together and nods in agreement. There’s a loud ‘smack’ that echoes throughout the room when he slaps his hands on his thighs.
“I’ll grab you something to eat.” He says as he stands up and makes his way to the door. With one last long look at you, he exits the room and leaves you alone with your thoughts.
*
Italy was as beautiful was in the movies and the pictures you have seen, and the food was incredible. You almost begged for permission to go sight seeing. Youngho would have allowed you and Minhyung to go and you knew it, however you also knew that the situation was serious. No dilly-dallying allowed, no matter how much you wanted to, or else there would be consequences.
Minhyung stealthily sent faces your way which had you clenching your hands into fists to keep you from bursting out into laughter. Your brother was doing no better, smothering his mouth with the palm of his mouth as the leader of the operation went through what needed to be prepared for the next day. The preparation and mission was relatively easy; the cash would go in the two black briefcases while the poker chips would go in the two brown briefcases. The money had to be counted numerous times, a job that was given to you and Minhyung, and the weapons would be prepared and examined by your brother and some of the others. The next day would involve going to a lush hotel where the trading of goods would occur and then you were on a flight home.
“Nine hundred and ten, nine hundred and thirty, nine hundred and forty,” Minhyung murmured as he counted the cash. You added another tally to your page once you counted another line of poker chips that equaled one thousand. “Nine hundred and ninety, one thousand!” Minhyung placed a rubber band around the cash to keep it bundled and shoved it neatly into the briefcase.
“This sucks,” you commented as he leaned back on his chair and sighed. “I keep losing count.” The tally system that you had could only help so much.
“Same,” he said, rubbing at his eyes, “should we get some gelato?”
A grin split your face, eyes twinkling. “Of course!” You answered. Then, with a frown, you added, “we should finish first.” Minhyung nodded in agreement and then the two of you began counting again, only this time with more vigor.
“Are you nervous for tomorrow?” Minhyung asked after he shoved a large spoonful of his cantucci flavored gelato into his mouth. The two of you were quick to count the money and purchase gelato before finding yourselves back in the hotel, sitting side by side on the tiled ground of the small balcony that connected to the room. Even though the door was closed, the two of you still spoke in low voices.
“A little bit,” you answered truthfully. Youngho already informed you that he would be giving you a gun, just in case, he said. The target practice that he’d given you and Minhyung was plenty but you still weren’t confident in your skills. “Aren’t you?”
Minhyung nodded, his mouth in a thin line. After a moment that had you mulling over tomorrow, thoughts as quick as lightning filtering through your mind, he rolled his shoulders back and shook himself. “We’ll be fine. It’ll go well, like it always does.” He said optimistically, knocking your shoulder with his.
-
The room was completely silent as the two people in charge from either side sat across from one another. The opposing leader was counting the money that was tucked neatly in one of the briefcases, the other three were being held by you and Minhyung. Your gaze swept from the table to the people surrounding the room. Everyone was standing as straight as a ruler and looked like they didn’t even dare breathe while they stared intensely at their opposing group. One of the women met your eye, a brow arched. The steely glint in her eyes made you shift your gaze and readjust your clammy grip on the briefcase. On your right, Minhyung moved the slightest bit towards you, his bicep pressing against yours.
With a nod from both of those in charge, you and Minhyung were waved over. No matter how many operations you were involved in, and it had been plenty by now, nervousness still overcame you. Being the target of several pairs of eyes made you swallow thickly, hand clenching onto the handle of the briefcase as if it was the only thing anchoring you to the room. Once you placed the briefcase on top of the table, you spun on your heel and made your way back to your designated position. When you turned to face the centre of the room, the money was being checked.
Chaos errupted not even a second after the briefcases were closed. The other side had taken out their weapons and aimed at your side, greed and malice painting their faces. Adrenaline flooded your system and you fumbled as you reached for the small gun that you tucked inside of the blazer your wore. Your eyes darted to where your brother was standing by the door. Or where he should have been standing because he was nowhere in signt. From beside you, Minhyung grabbed your elbow and hauled you to the direction of the door.
“We need to get out of here. Now.” Minhyung’s voice left no room for argument. You cocked your gun and nodded in agreement, still looking around for Youngho.
The path to the exit wasn’t an easy feat. You hadn’t even taken three steps when you felt a sharp pain in your shoulder. Minhyung turned as you stumbled into his back, quickly aimed somewhere behind you, his eyes sharp and his mouth thin, and then fired his own gun. From that point on, it progessively became worse and worse. Eventually, you and Minhyung, by some miracle, managed to escape the establishment. You were both extremely worse for wear, you more than him—with the amount of gashes and bullets your body now owned, it was a miracle that you were still concious.
“Youngho,” you slurred, slumped against Minhyung side as he lead the two of you the car. It was sheer luck that the streets were mostly empty. “Gotta find him.” You added, wincing as Minhyung carefully laid you on top of the passenger seat. He left the door open and left you, the telltale sound of the truck being opened and closed reaching your ears as you tried not to focus on the searing pain everywhere.
“He’s gone,” Minhyung replied and when your eyes snapped open to stare at him in disbelief, you found him rummaging through a first aid kit. The deep frown that he wore didn’t suit him. It sat strangely on his face, especially with the creases that imprinted themselves on his forehead–you wished that you could smooth them away, if you had the energy you would have said something funny to lighten the mood. “I’ll explain later, just– just let me fix you first, okay? I can’t– Not you too. Please, y/n.” He was frantically rummaging through the first aid kit, grabbing what he needed.
You weren’t going to deny him to begin with but the the pleading in his eyes packed an extra punch in the gut. Instead of saying: ‘of course you won’t lose me, you’ll never lose me. You’ll always have me.’ You nodded, squeezing your eyes shut and allowed him to work on you. The disinfectant stung and you had to clench your jaw as he stitched the majority of your wounds but you survived.
“Your turn,” You told him as you blinked rapidly, as if it would clear your slightly foggy vision. “C’mon, I’ll help you.”
“No it’s okay. I got it.” Minhyung replied but you ignored him and he didn’t even try to pick a fight as you helped him tend to his wounds. He probably would have been finished much quicker if had he done it himself but of course you were going to help him–the two of you were a team. A family. Even if it was just the two of you now, if he was to be believed. And you did believe him although it was difficult to ignore the part of you that raged and wanted to call him a liar.
Just as Minhyung settled into the driver’s seat, the back door opened and someone from your team slid in. She was panting heavily, dried red splotches covering her face like freckles. You and Minhyung traded looks, mouths pressed into thin lines as she demanded him to drive off. You were hoping to hear what his explanation about Youngho, but you knew that he wasn’t going to say anything while there was additional company.
It was later that you found out that Youngho and Taeyong had hatched a plan for the four of you and a couple of others to escape. They had been planning it for weeks and Youngho had only told Minhyung their plan the previous night while you were sound asleep. Initally you were outraged. You weren’t proud of it but you threw accussations at Minhyung and he did nothing to stop you. Then, you were angry at your brother because he didn’t inform you of his plan. Because he left you and Minhyung behind, and what kind of brother was he to do that? How dare he leave you behind when the three of you promised you would never do that to each other. Finally, once the anger left your body, sadness washed over you like a huge wave, drowning you in it. You moved as quick as you could when Minhyung opened his arms and sobbed, wailing about thw unfairness of it all. He cried quietly with you, your bodies trembling in sync.
The two of you slept side by side that night, gripping each other tightly, tangled together. The nights to follow were the same, until it became an unspoken nightly occurrence. The others thought that the two of you were weird but you couldn’t find it in yourself to care, and neither could he.
*
It’s been a almost two weeks since you called Minhyung – no, Mark - for help and neither of you have discussed, well, anything. There are questions that you have that keep piling up the longer you are here with him. Questions like how he managed to escape, how long has it been since he has been free and, most importantly, how he’s been doing. Judging by the nice, spacious house that he lives in, he has been doing really good for himself but you wonder if he has the same night terrors that you do–if he wakes up in cold sweat because of nightmares where they catch him and do what they did to you but worse. Way worse.
Your curiosity is never quenched because you are too busy befriending the people he lives with. There are six of them in total and they are all really nice; they never ask you intrusive questions, make you feel comfortable and seem to genuinely want to know you. You aren’t surprised that Minhy– Mark, has found them or vice versa because there has always been something comforting and safe about him. You aren’t sure about what he has told them about his past but it’s very obvious that they all care about him and admire him deeply. And Mark? He absolutely, definitely, one hundred percent deserves it. Of course he does. You think that he deserves the world and more. It’s just. . .when you see him with Kim ‘call me Haechan, everyone here does’ Donghyuck and how they interact with each other seamlessly, you feel a nasty case of jealousy and, maybe even worse, replaced. You are mature enough to admit to yourself that the jealousy you feel is completely ridiculous along with the whole being replaced thing. Obviously he has a new best friend. Why wouldn’t he? You are the one who left him all those years ago, not the other way around. If the roles were reversed, you probably would have gotten a new best friend too.
You suppress your feelings, try not to blatantly avoid the pair when you see them together, and instead focus on trying to fit in.
Surprisingly, it works–fitting in, that is. While the main issue is still a work in progress, you get along swimmingly with them group. You go cycling with Jeno and Jaemin, learn how to speak Mandarin thanks to Renjun and Chenle, play one-on-one soccer with Jisung and get roped into what Haechan and Mark do. Before you know it, you have slotted yourself into their lives and it has been a couple of months since Mark called you back. There is evidence of your presence in every room, from articles of clothing to little knick-knacks you have collected during your stay. You don’t have a room of your own or anything, Mark had set up a futon in his room and that was that.
It occurs to you over dinner as Haechan and Jisung fight for the last slice of garlic bread. The thought that you have been with them for that long has you dropping your cutlery on your plate and leaning back on your chair, staring at your empty plate. You should probably devise a plan to leave. You’ve overstayed your welcome and they’re all too kind and lovely to mention your long awaited departure to your face. Mark’s questioning eyes meet yours when you lift your gaze and you quirk the side of your mouth into a smile, shaking your head at him in dismissal. A small frown forms on his face at that so you tear your eyes away from him to the others. Jisung is smug as he purposefully chews slowly and exaggeratedly ‘mmm’s at the taste.
“I’m leaving,” you say lowly into the darkness as you lay on your futon, staring at up at the ceiling. They are the same words you said back then, too. Except this time you don’t want to go at all. As long overdue as it is, it’s hard to say the words confidently because you enjoy living here with them. “Tomorrow.” You add decisively before you can cave to your true feelings and end up staying with them forever.
“What?! No! You can’t!” Is Mark’s frantic reply. You hear him move around and then the lamp on his bedside locker is lighting up the room. When you turn to face him, he’s sitting up, facing you and staring at you with an expression that is a blend of disbelief and distraught. “I–” he falters, his eyes dropping from yours to his hands for a moment as he audibly exhales shakily. “I just got you back.” The words are spoken quietly, vulnerability spilling into it, and you hate yourself for doing this to him again.
“I know but Mark–”
“But what? You belong here, with us. With me. I can tell that you’re really happy here, y/n, so why are you saying this? Why do you need to go? Actually, where would you even go? And– And– Why are you leaving me again?” His voice is small. It trembles throughout the entirety of his words and cracks in the middle of the last question.
It feels like you’re nineteen all over again. Especially with the way he’s looking at you. It’s the same look that he gave you back then except it’s so much more worse. You avoid his eyes as you say, “I know I’ve stayed here way longer than I needed to and that you’re happier than I’ve ever seen you. There’s no way I’m risking your happiness in case they find me again. Besides,”–you swallow thickly, the next part of your sentence harder to say–“you don’t need me here.”
“That’s not fair,” although it’s still a whisper, Mark’s voice is stronger this time, the trembling gone, but still sounding terribly wounded. “You left me. And then my parents died and you weren’t there to see that I lost massive parts of myself.” He pauses, breathes deeply before continuing. “How could you think that I don’t need you here, or at all? Of course I do. I always have.”
“But you Haechan and all the others now, you don’t need me anymore.” You counter and there must be a sliver of something in your voice because Mark’s eyebrows furrow slightly. It’s clear when he has connected the dots because he says your name softly under his breath and looks at you tenderly. You flush, heat rising to your cheeks immediately knowing that he has found out how you have been feeling.
“It’s not the same,” he assures you firmly. “Haechan is amazing, they all are. They’ve taught me how to live again and confidently express myself. But you’re different, y’know? Just as amazing, of course! It’s just that we’ve been through a lot together and you played a really big part in molding me into the person I am today, and for the entire time that you were gone. . .I felt like I was missing my heart or my limb, or– or something.”
The sincerity in his voice soothes and untangles the knot that’s been weighing heavily in the pit of your stomach. You manage a small smile. “Your heart?” You repeat, teasingly, and there’s a snippet of a memory that unlocks in your brain–you, Mark and Youngho sitting in a small circle with Taeyong, Yongqin and Sicheng in a warm, sunlight room, listening to Sicheng intently as he read poetry aloud. You huff out a small laugh and, with mirth in your eyes as you look at him, your smile growing, you then follow up with, “I carry your heart with me.”
Mark, whose expression morphs from hurt, sincerity and concern to dazed before settling on a soft, sweet expression. He mirrors the mirth that you feel, a smile of his own adorning his face. “I carry it in my heart.”
Then, together, the two of you recite the next part. “I am never without it.”
The smile you wear hurts your cheeks but you can’t find it in yourself to care. Mark gestures you to his bed with a slight nod of his head and you waste no time climbing in under the covers with him, making yourself as comfortable as possible. The two of you don’t weave yourselves around one another, not like before, but Mark does grab your hand, his grip tight - although not tight enough to hurt - as if he were afraid that you’d run off in the middle of the night. You don’t blame him. What you do instead is give his hand a reassuring squeeze and then, gather the courage to ask the questions that you have been meaning to ask him for months. Mark tells you every little detail; he staged his death, he left almost a year after you and that for the most part, he is doing better. He admits that he has bad days and even worse night terrors but they aren’t as frequent as they were before. In turn, you answer the questions that he has for you, providing him with just as much detail as he gave you. By the time the two of you have stopped swapping stories, it’s early in the morning–you can tell by the slight brightness coming from the pale curtains.
“Hey Mark,” you call out quietly, not quite ready to sleep yet. Not with the remaining question you have for him. At this point, the two of you were spooning, your back against his sturdy chest with one of his arms thrown over your middle, your fingers laced through one another and his legs are flush against yours, copying how your legs fold. He hums, prompting you to continue. “Why did you call me back?”
“I told you didn’t I?” He murmurs sleepily, “Needed you. Missed you.” When the answer leaves his lips, you feel silly. He didn’t remember the promise he made you. It wasn’t a big deal–people break and forget promises all the time, so why wouldn’t he? “Besides,” he adds, interrupting your thoughts, “I promised you didn’t I?”
A lump forms in your throat and your lips quiver slightly as you feel the telltale signs of tears start to pool in your eyes. “Yeah,” you croak out, “you did.”
“Promise you and I will try our best to find your brother?” You give him an affirmative. “Good. G’na sleep now, ‘kay? Night”
“Good night.”
It takes a while for you to fall asleep although when you do, it’s the most comfortable and safest you have felt for a long while.
*
You sat glumly on the uncomfortable plastic chair, holding a bag of frozen vegetables on your swollen cheek to alleviate help the pain. Minhyung, the newbie, had rushed to give it to you the minute you limped through the door, clearly battered. That was before Youngho caught the sight of you, steered you into his room and promptly began lecturing you on the dangers of thinking you could handle certain situations on your own.
It wasn’t as if you particularly wanted to go by yourself. You would have loved if someone tagged along with you to scope out the area that you overheard some of the senior members whisper about to each other. The only problem was there was nobody here that you trusted, with the obvious exception of your older brother and his best friend, Taeyong. Unfortunately they were out doing a task that they were given so you had no choice but to quench your curiosity by yourself.
Evidently it was a mistake - which you knew now, obviously - because even with how stealthy you were, you had been caught. The ones who found you were taunting you by having a loud conversation about what they should to you. It had your heart palpitating uncomfortably, eyes wildly scanning for an exit. In the end, they tried to extract information from you by using some violent tactics–a punch or two here, a kick there and, the worst part of it all, they trailed a knife along your body, the tip of the blade extremely distinct under your clothes. When it became obvious that you weren’t going to reveal anything to them, they gave you a quick beating as a message and then let you go.
“This is why you haven’t been given any tasks yet.” Youngho said and then after a beat he added, “you’re sitting out for everything until I say so.” His tone was firm, his arms folded across his chest as he looked at you sternly.
You sputtered. “You can’t ground me! I’m totally good for action.” Your brother arched a brow at that, and even Minhyung shot you a look of disbelief. You wanted to argue but you knew it would be futile, so you gave him a quick nod.
“Good,” he walked over to you, petting your hair as he gave you a light hug so as to not bother your injuries. “Now go get some rest. Minhhyung, will you help them to their room please? I’ll grab some food.” And then he was off, leaving you with the guy you barely knew. Why couldn’t he have taken you there himself?
At first you hesistated as he stood close to you, prepared to catch you in case anything happened, but you slung an arm across Minhyung’s shoulder so that you could lean onto his side. It was an awkward walk to your room, the silence was so loud that you eventually gave in to talking to him.
“Thanks,” he hummed questioningly at you. “For the frozen veg,” you clarified, “you didn’t have to but I really appreciate it.”
You felt him shrug a shoulder, a reflex of his that you noticed while you slyly observed him conversing with the others. “It was no big deal,” he replied as he opened the door to your room and steered the two of you towards you bed. “Can I ask you something?”
“Sure.” You answered as you tried to find a comfortable position to lay down.
“Why did you go on your own? I mean, like, why didn’t you call anyone or anything?”
“Nobody I trust was free,” you told him plainly. “And besides,” you began to say as he mulled over your answer. “No-one actually answers my calls. Except for my brother and his friends.” You felt really lame for admitting that to him but it was the truth.
There was a beat of silence that stretched long enough for your statement to hang awkwardly in the air. Just as you were about to tell him that he could leave, he spoke up. “If you called me I would have answered.”
There were a million things that you wanted to say. Out of all of them, what came out was, “I don’t have your number.”
Minhyung shrugged, slightly rocking back and forth on his heels. “I could give it to you? I mean, if you want it. It’d be nice since I’ve heard we’re the closest on age here and all. We could be, you know, partners in crime or something.”
“Literally partners in crime,” you said, a small laugh escaping you at the truth of it all. You gave him a considering once over, which he seemed to fidget under. “Alright, but this means that you’ll have to answer every call I make.”
Minhyung’s mouth curled into a bright smile, excitement lighting his eyes. “I can do that.”
“Even if it’s something silly?” It was a challenge and test all in one.
“Even if it’s something silly.” He parroted back.
You stuck out your pink finger towards him and there wasn’t an inch of hesitation in him as his hooked his own around it. “It’s a promise then.”
“It’s a promise,” he agreed. When you released your pinky from his hold, he stuffed his hands into his pockets. With the bright smile still in place, he said, “I have a really good feeling about this for some reason.”
You mirrored his smile. “Me too.”

Season 8, Episode 2: Honestly, Elizabeth
I think I’ll do all my write-ups this year scene-by-scene. It’s easier to keep track of everything that happens in the episode that way, and I can write up thoughts while I’m watching the episode.
I’ll just jump right in!
Scene 1: Narration/Jack Jack
The first scene starts out with Elizabeth writing in her journal about the arrival of Lucas’s mother to town, and I think the writing here was actually polished up as to be concise and fairly decent. I didn’t mind seeing Jack staring at his father’s picture, but I think what would have made a much more compelling scene would have been for him to turn away from the picture and pick up a toy off of the ground and just start playing with it. Something symbolic of moving on, or at least of Jack’s lack of connection to his father at this age. While he’d certainly be curious when he gets older, at his current age he has no real reason to care.
Elizabeth waxing poetic about how strong and brave Jack was, and how her son embodies those same traits is…I don’t know. It came off a little silly to me—like it was trying just a little too hard to be meaningful.
Scene 2: Lucas check on Helen
I like that Lucas seems to care for his mother a lot, and that he wants to help her. I think he realizes there’s perhaps more to her visit than merely wanting to see Elizabeth, but isn’t willing to push for that kind of information. My guess is that they’re just not that emotionally close to one another.
Scene 3: The Crate of DOOM
Joseph from the railroad brings a delivery for Lee and in helping Joseph carry it, Lee hurts his back. This was a genuinely good scene. CALLCARSONCALLCARSONCALLCARSON. It also has the advantage of making everyone feel friendly and neighborlike. Elizabeth popping out of her house, Jesse just stopping by… It was nice.
Scene 4: Nathan and Elizabeth Talk
Opal’s dress was really cute in this scene, and Robert really is growing up fast! I’m glad Allie and Opal seem attached to him; the show feels more cohesive with its little friend groups and it’s been hard to really show that off since Cody left. Allie fills that void easily and I think gets better lines/dialogue/scenes as well. She gets treated like a character of the appropriate age.
Also, Nathan treating Robert respectfully is nice. It comes off like he recognizes Robert’s good intentions and genuine enthusiasm and treats him appropriately, too.
The little quip about Allie being interested in boys was cute (and not over-the-top), and I like that Nathan is the first to bring up the missed…dinner date. Elizabeth’s response is interesting to me; she does seem a little more enthusiastic, at least about how fun it would have been had she followed through on it. When Nathan suggests they could try it again, though, she clams up. I think what’s interesting about it is that she doesn’t look disgusted or unhappy with the idea, just…a tad uncomfortable—like she wants to say something but can’t/won’t. A pretty good scene.
  Scene 5: Introducing Joseph Canfield
At this point in the episode I knew I’d love Joseph. He’s so wholesome and pleasant both in his demeanor and his offer to pray for Lee.
  Scene 6: Nichols and Dimes
I really am enjoying Fiona’s interactions with Mike Hickam. Actually, I’m enjoying that Mike gets any lines at all. He’s a pretty good actor and deserving of the screentime. Also that man has a butt and they’re showing of in like, every other scene he’s in LOL. Fiona trying to explain the reason for the name of the shop is quirky without being too over-the-top I think. It works well enough and I think lends some more personality to her character.
Tumblr media
This scene gave us some more low-key genuinely funny stuff with Jesse repeating “Nichol isn’t spelled that way, right?”
Henry’s surprise at the barber being a woman isn’t too over the top either. At this time, barbers would just about always be men, because not only did they handle haircuts and shaves, but it served as a gossip (and business, as Fiona mentioned in the last episode) center for all the men in the area AND the barber usually also treated things like toothaches and first aid if a doctor wasn’t around.
I admit her reaction to all the men running off was...a bit surprising. I figured her feelings would be hurt, but she literally just laughs it off, maybe just too excited at having her own business to continue to think about, you know, what will happen if she doesn’t get customers.
Scene 7: Joseph runs out of gas.
There isn’t much to say here, but when he walks back to town he sings “It Is Well with My Soul” which was always one of my favorite hymns. My pastor had his own piano arrangement of it and everything. I knew from this moment forward that I would defend him to the death.
 Scene 8: At the clinic
This is probably not the most...accurate medical scene ever, but it wasn’t bad. The best part about it was actually Molly, though. It looks like she’s really thrown herself into working with Carson and she’s used to it and even enjoys it!
 Scene 9:Nathan and Bill talk
The scene is super simple but I think it was excellently done. Nathan wants to adopt Allie and Bill thinks that’s a fine idea in theory, but in starting proceedings (court filings, public notices, et cetera) he could stir things up. It sounds like Bill and Nathan spoke about Dylan since Bill knows how Dylan found him (the newspaper article).
Bill mentions a fee and at first I thought this was going to be the start of a really sour joke about Bill being greedy or something, but to my surprise (AND IMMENSE RELIEF), they were just discussing it like a business transaction...which it is. Nathan trusts Bill to be fair with that... AND I LOVE IT.
Allie’s mother’s full name is Colleen Mayes Grant. Allie’s full name is Allison Mayes Parks. Would Parks also be Colleen’s full name if she were married to Dylan? Am I missing something here?
Anyway, Nathan and Bill then talk about the money that Nathan used to trap Dylan, and Nathan admits he got it from Lucas, which...surprises Bill.
Tumblr media
“You asked Lucas?! You do love your niece.” Nathan is a little amused by it, but I think this is interesting. I mean, 1) Nathan asked Lucas in the first place, which is telling, but also, 2) Lucas loaned him the money without even asking what it was for. Maybe they are not on such bad terms after all, lol. ;)
Nathan points to a map and asks about some land, and Bill says he owns that land, and that he was thinking of building a cabin on it but he’s just not really that sure he wants to. Nathan asks if he’d be willing to sell and Bill (jokingly) asks, “How much of that money did you give back to Lucas?”
Good scene, wholesome scene. I genuinely enjoy watching these two interact. It almost reminds me of the older seasons when Bill and Frank and Jack would all scheme together; stuff like this just helps build up the characters a lot, and it helps the town feel...real.
Scene 10: Lucas and Elizabeth Chat
This was a short but nice scene. I think it’s clear Lucas is a bit worried about his mother and asks Elizabeth to visit her in the hopes that it might encourage her to talk to someone or feel better.
At first I thought this was perhaps a bit much, like...she barely knows the woman why would Helen even want a visit from Elizabeth? But then I thought...well, Lucas is probably thinking of the fact that Elizabeth has spoken with Helen now and again about her writing, so a visit from her would be expected since she’s in town.
I like Elizabeth’s honesty in admitting she was intimidated by Helen. “So she does bite!” Kind of a cute/silly scene. I liked it.
Scene 11: Rosemary and Elizabeth talk.
This was probably the second weakest scene in the episode. Rosemary just says hi and tells Elizabeth she can’t help with anything regarding Lee, and then Elizabeth says she’s off to visit Helen, and Rosemary says “Oh, the old saying...the way to an editor’s heart.”
Elizabeth replies with, “I don’t think that’ show that saying goes.”
I think they were trying for Funny here but it misses its mark and doesn’t really add anything to the episode. I’d have rather had an earnest word of encouragement from Rosemary.
 Scene 12: Elizabeth visits Helen
There are a lot of things to like about this. Helen takes her job very seriously, and corrects Elizabeth (“book” vs. “manuscript”—it ain’t a book yet!). Helen comments on Elizabeth being undisciplined but this is an objectively true statement (whether Elizabeth likes it or not).
I think Helen is actually really understanding when Elizabeth blurts out that she was late with her first draft because, “I decided not to let my writing interfere with my life.” She’s pretty calm about it, and says maybe her trip was for nothing.
Elizabeth springs back and hurries to explain that while her writing means a lot to her, and she takes it seriously, it’s also not her main source of income. I was really worried that Helen was going to come off as this huge bitch hurting Poor Widdle Ewizabiff’s Feewings but I think she’s actually pretty great in this scene. She doesn’t come off as the bad guy, but neither does Elizabeth. In fact, I feel like both characters communicate quite cleanly and it seems Helen appreciates Elizabeth’s spunk, haha.
Scene 13: Henry and Lucas have a meeting
The writers straight up wanted to negate some of what happened last season, and I think that was a smart choice. There are some lines in this scene that I really enjoy a lot. “I like you, Henry. I don’t know why, but I do.” I think Lucas likes Henry because he’s been mostly up front with Lucas about his methods...which he does here, too.
“I’m willing to get my hands dirty.”
Henry’s proposal is that he will double the crude output in the first year he’s back as Lucas’s partner, and if he doesn’t manage it, he will walk away. However, if he is successful, he becomes majority owner at 60% and is allowed to make all business decisions.
This is a very good opportunity for Lucas, provided he trusts Henry can at least maintain current output. He loses nothing if Henry walks away and he loses hardly anything (in fact, he loses a bit of profit and a LOT of responsibility) if Henry manages it and stays on.
When asked why he had a change of heart, Henry says he “has his reasons.”
Scene 14: Joseph comes back to town + Fiona’s
This actually isn’t its own separate scene, but rather, the camera pans from the previous scene to Joseph walking into town.
Joseph stops Hickam about getting some gas, but Hickam is sent away to hold up his end of a bet while Jesse helps Joseph.
The camera then is in Fiona’s barbershop, so I’m counting these two scenes together. Hickam asks for a trim and she agrees to do it. He apologizes for running off earlier and she accepts his apology with grace and says she’s glad he came back. He tells her it was the right thing to do and she calls him out instantly for having accepted a bet from Jesse.
This is a pretty funny little joke, but the best part about it is actually how it ties Hickam and Jesse together. They’re around the same age and they could be friends; I like the implication. Some of the male friendships have suffered a bit in recent years so it’s nice to see those getting a splash of attention.
Anyway, Fiona doesn’t take offense and Hickam seems relieved.
Scene 15: Sergeant gets some pats
Sergeant is a good boy and so deserves some pats! The only thing I hate about this scene is the dialogue. Robert is like, a farm boy...and you’re telling me he’s never ridden a real horse? Please. This is in a time period where most of these kids would know how to ride a horse. He’s no larger a horse than any other horse in town! The bigger concern should be that Sergeant is an ex-mounted police horse, which means he needs a more experienced rider (and that certain signals could mean different things to Sergeant than they would mean for a farmhorse).
It’s still pretty cute overall, but I think they could have had the kids currying him or something instead. “We can start by patting him” seems a little silly when this horse has been patted by everyone in town 3 billion times by this point.
The camera then adjusts to the window of the saloon’s upstairs room where Helen is watching Elizabeth spend time with the kids.
She’s more or less smiling and watching Elizabeth and the kids, studying them. As predicted, she has already decided she likes Elizabeth.
Scene 16: Hickam narrowly avoids death
Or more like, he moves while Fiona is trying to cut his hair and she gets his ear with the scissors. He literally runs out of the barbershop, past Helen and Lucas who are now out for a walk, and straight to the clinic.
Scene 17: Rosemary talks to Elizabeth and the kids
This is a continuation of the last scene where the camera catches Rosemary from outside the clinic (as Hickam goes in) and follows her over to Elizabeth where she says hello (they are still with Sergeant but over by the church now).
I’m a little tired of these Cute Widdle Opal moments. She’s like, nine years old. The fake smiling and “oh my goodness!”ing is too much for me at this point. I probably hated this scene the most.
Scene 18: Lucas talks with his mother
Helen calls out the situation exactly for what it is: Elizabeth is the reason Lucas has settled in Hope Valley, and Lucas and Nathan are vying for Elizabeth’s hand. Lucas admits these are both true.
Just a nice little scene. Helen seems pretty normal and good here.
Scene 19: Elizabeth talks to Nathan
On her way out of the mercantile (with a cloth to clean Opal’s face) Elizabeth runs into Nathan who is on his way up to Bill’s land to check it out. She says he must be serious if he’s going in the middle of the day out to look at it, and he says he is. “I think it’s time I settle down.”
She walks down a step or two and turns after him as he’s about to go into the mercantile: “Nathan? When you’re back from your trip, perhaps we could get together?”
And he agrees to this, almost in a tone that’s like, he doesn’t want to seem too excited.
As soon as Nathan is in the store, Robert goes flying by on Sergeant with the worst posture I’ve ever seen.
Tumblr media
Elizabeth steals Newton from Nathan and goes after Robert, catching up to him and dragging him back to town right in front of Jesse and Joseph.
Joseph is of course iMMEDIATELY like: “I want to live in this crazy place.”
This isn’t how I would write a scene like this, mostly because I would assume that Robert could ride a horse (and his posture later kind of says this...lol) and it’s really hard to film something like this without it Actually Being Dangerous (mostly due to the gravel in town—a horse could kick that into someone’s face and they’d be messed up, or they could slip in it)(also, the filming location doesn’t have a lot of Large Spaces where they can really let a horse gallop safely). I’d probably have a stunt double dashing off at an actual run if possible, and show Elizabeth catching up to Robert who has been thrown from the horse. He’s fine (landed in some prairie grass or something) but then it’s actually really scary.
Her “catching up” and “helping” just doesn’t work very well when it’s very clear these horses are moving at a leisurely pace.
But if you can use your imagination it wasn’t a bad scene.
 Scene 20: Lee and Rosemary
It’s the next morning, and Rosemary helps Lee sit on the couch. Rosemary gives him his coffee but there’s no sugar in it (this is hard to believe; they’ve been married how long? She’s been making this every day for how many years?) and she boogies over to Elizabeth’s.
Scene 21: Rosemary and Elizabeth have a chat
Rosemary talks to Elizabeth about the chase after Robert and then to little Jack and there’s a little moment where she looks at Jack and talks about how her and Lee like hearing him laugh when the weather is nice and the windows are open. It was a nice touch.
Rosemary offers to babysit until Laura arrives.
It’s a nice scene but I’m a little tired of the babytalk for a child that is way older than they’re acting. This is a 2-3 year old child, not a baby who can’t talk.
Scene 22: Bill meets Joseph Canfield
Tumblr media
Joseph came back to town to have another look around and consider buying the gas station. He mentions the church, and Bill says they don’t have a pastor right now because “he left to become a missionary.” I’m not sure which pastor they’re talking about here: Zeke or the guy before him, or even Frank? My guess is Zeke since they took the time to give him a name, and there’s no reason why Frank would do that when he’s been written away as finding his calling in mentoring/pastoring/caring for terminally ill children.
Joseph says he’s looking to settle down and would like it to be Hope Valley, which is....sudden. I’m not sure what the script could have said instead, but maybe if there was some kind of hint that his wife isn’t happy in their current situation? Or maybe that he’s been looking around and that he found Hope Valley when he wasn’t even looking—just doing his job.
It’s a hard sell either way. There’s a whole lot of nothing in this area, so it’s hard to imagine Hope Valley wouldn’t be on the map with a railroad stop...lol...
Joseph says he doesn’t want to build, so Bill says he knows a guy.
Good scene. I’m always happy when Bill gets normal interactions, and it seems like in this scene we’re meant to imagine that he is actually on his rounds (since Nathan is away).
Scene 23: Elizabeth and Helen edit...
Helen says “dour” in a way Elizabeth has never heard it said, and it sounds kind of clear that everything Helen says, Elizabeth just blanks out and can’t discuss reasonably.
“I’m just not used to writing this way.” You’re...not writing. You’re editing. There’s a difference. And Helen seems to be trying to get at the Author’s Intentions (“Would you describe this character as dour?”) to ensure that Elizabeth’s writing matches what she’s going for.
They’ve made it past ONE page at this point. They do share a chuckle over how slow their progress is, though, and I mean, as a writer that’s a whole entire mood, so it’s fine.
 Scene 24: Henry’s cabin
For some reason Henry owns a cabin and Joseph, Bill, and Henry are checking it out. Bill is mostly snooping to find things wrong with it lol, which is very in character for him, considering Henry is (or at least was) the enemy.
Joseph decides to buy the place because it’s not too far from town and there’s room for the kids to play.
Boom he’s in.
Tumblr media
Welcome Hope Valley, Joseph!
 Scene 25: Robert’s Sorry + Helen’s Truth
Robert has atoned for his sins by cleaning all the stalls out or something. Helen and Elizabeth meet Robert on a walk. He’s atoned for his sins by cleaning the stables.
Helen and Elizabeth chat a bit, and Helen drops a bunch of Truth Bombs:
-Authors often feign indifference to the characters they create, or insist they are mere fabrications outside themselves.
-Elizabeth is honest with herself and with others, and honest in her writing.
-Most people are uncomfortable and afraid, and hide behind characters they’ve created for themselves.
She then says that she’s like that (kind of an awkward delivery line) and then instantly launches into saying she came to see Lucas and to see her, too, but if she’s being completely honest, she’s come because her husband has left her.
(Scene break for commercials)
Elizabeth runs after Helen and calls her “Mrs. Bouchard” but quickly corrects herself to call her “Helen” (NOW IT MAKES SENSE WHY HELEN DOESN’T WANT TO BE CALLED MRS. BOUCHARD!) and asks if she wants to talk about it.
“There’s really nothing to say. It’s not going to change anything.”
Lucas’s father is in London, supposedly, and as Lucas walks over to the two of them, Helen asks for Elizabeth to keep this just between them, as he doesn’t know yet.
I’m not sure where they’re going to go with this, or how they’re going to resolve it, but it’s possible this was just a misunderstanding (seems farfetched but hey, it’s Hallmark).
As an aside, the flowers they have out on display are all summer flowers. Does it matter? No. Am I pointing it out? Yes.
Lucas offers to take both women to dinner and Elizabeth says she isn’t able to go. I think she should have stated she had a prior engagement (so she didn’t appear to be rude), but Helen takes him up on the offer.
Walking away, Elizabeth runs into Laura, Emily, Anna, and Timmy, which was nice because all the mentions of Laura without actually seeing Laura made me worry she wasn’t on the show anymore, haha.
Laura isn’t with Jack because Rosemary wanted to watch him for the day. Elizabeth turns around and asks Lucas for his help with something.
Scene 26: The Surprise for Rosemary and Lee
Elizabeth comes over to collect Jack with a surprise: a nice dinner all premade, a bottle of wine, and some mood music. ;)
This is a wholesome and sweet scene. Elizabeth leaves with Jack and Lee struggles to his feet to dance with Rosemary.
 Scene 27: The letter
Henry goes to the mercantile to see if there’s any mail and there IS...the letter he sent out last episode has been returned...opened.
Henry’s upset by this (he seems genuinely hurt) and asks Ned if he opened it. Ned says he didn’t, and Florence defends him by saying he would never do that. Henry leaves and Ned says he forgot to take care of something in the back and wishes Florence good night.
Very suspicious. I don’t think Ned opened the letter but I do think he read it. He looked a little upset himself...? Not sure what’s going on here. Could it involve a relative? Nora? A business proposition?
 Scene 28: Florence and Molly
At the saloon, Florence and Molly talk about the letter, and Florence says she thinks the person who opened it was the person Henry sent it to.
Molly notices Bill laughing and having a good time with a woman she doesn’t know and stares at them. Florence points it out and says Molly must be bad-tempered because she’s hungry and suggests they order and eat. Molly gets up and marches right on over there and embarrasses Florence with her BS.
She mentions the chili in the cafe and then fakely says, “Oh nooo, I’m being rude,” and introduces herself to Helen.
Helen doesn’t shake her offered hand but does give her name. She’s extremely awkward and leaves in a hurry, with Florence on her heels.
Helen tells Bill he must have a “fan.”
Bill says he wasn’t aware of that.
Tumblr media
The classic Bill Squint™.
 Scene 29: Mike returns
Mike comes back to have his haircut finished. She says she’ll be more careful this time; he admits it’s his fault...and they both agree that they’re both to blame a little bit.
Clara and Faith drag their men in and insist on them getting haircuts/trims. I liked the scene with Fiona and Mike, but didn’t really care for the last bit as much. Mostly because everyone hates the idea of her cutting their hair and this is supposed to be funny, even to her? Like...I don’t know. It just falls flat for me.
Scene 30: Rosemary is a bad influence
Rosemary asks Elizabeth how the meeting went. They talk about the fact that Lucas and his mother are nothing alike and Rosemary says, “Well maybe he’s like his father.”
Elizabeth is like “Let’s hope not.”
And of course that gets the ball rolling. Before long, the truth is out: Helen’s husband left her.
Elizabeth really should have...shut her mouth lol. But at least Rosemary believes that’s a bad position for Elizabeth to be in.
Lee comes in with Jack wearing a little outfit...
And then the truth comes out that what’s in the crate is a LOT of coffee. 250lbs of it.
Scene 31: Bill and Molly Talk...sort-of.
Bill chases Molly out of the cafe and insists they talk about what happened the night before, and Molly says she made a fool of herself. Bill tries to figure things out by saying he’s been a bachelor for a long time (probably trying to ease into it by admitting he just hadn’t realized she was Interested because he’s not used to the whole thing, to take some pressure off you know?) and Molly stops him like, “Are you under the impression that I’m interested in you as a suitor?”
Bill is more or less like, well...yes (but I wasn’t alone in that thought).
Molly tells him she was curious about the woman with whom he was dining. “True, I have mentioned to Florence that it might be nice getting to know each other seeing as how we’ve lived in the same town for years...”
Bill: “Well, see? You are interested in me.”
Molly: “You flatter yourself.”
She then leaves.
Anyone who knows me will know why I don’t like this scene lol, but at least neither character is being made a fool of, here. Pretty sure Molly is both curious and jealous.
Scene 32: Henry’s tirade
I think they should have rerecorded this scene because it 100% sounds like Henry is drunk off his ass and not just angry. More punctuated words would have fixed this easily.
Anyway, Carson comes by the mercantile just in time to see Henry yelling at Ned and Florence about the letter (but specifically Ned). Henry sees Carson come in and leaves, but falls outside. His blood pressure is ridiculously high. Outside, the acting is fine and he sounds angry (but deflating).
“Sometimes what you do in between [birth and death] just isn’t enough.”
This makes me really curious about that leTTER... It almost has to be a personal matter: family, perhaps?
Scene 33: The Confession
Elizabeth runs into Nathan while she’s out with Sergeant and they talk about Bill’s land. Nathan’s very enthusiastic about the land and the idea of living there.
LOOK AT HIM.
Tumblr media
This is probably the most animated we’ve seen him!
(I think this talk of land and building on it might be forcing her to think of Jack, by the way. They already have the profession in common and now the land/planning for the future thing, too? A future she never got to have with Jack? OOF.)
I think at this point she’s worried that he wants to do this FOR HER and the guilt is what prompts her to speak. She goes on to tell him that he means a lot to her, and so does Allie, but she thinks he’s looking for more than friendship.
He says he wasn’t trying to hide that, and she thanks him for his honesty. She goes to express that he wants more from her than she can give. He was shot that one time when she thought it had been him who died, and she can’t go through that for real, not again. She doesn’t want to lose him the way she lost Jack.
He says he wouldn’t let that happen and she gets (RIGHTFULLY!) upset because that isn’t something he can meaningfully promise, and it’s pretty insulting considering the way Jack died; he isn’t better than Jack, after all. Anything could happen.
So Nathan says that his solution, what makes his promise different, is that he would quit the Mounties.
And she says, “No!”
Then we get the lines:
Nathan: I know you feel the same way that I do.
Elizabeth: I can’t.
Nathan: Elizabeth, I’m in love with you!
Elizabeth leaves hurriedly on Sergeant and that’s the end of the episode.
I don’t want to end this without talking about the last scene a bit. I think some people might be a bit confused about it. I think she has feelings for Nathan and has been repressing them because it’s too scary a thing to consider. She wants to let the idea go but knew she couldn’t just cut things off without saying anything.
But how do you say something like that kindly? How do you do that without hurting feelings or looking stupid?
I feel like the talk about the land, as well as Nathan’s comment earlier in the episode about settling down, has forced Elizabeth to be honest with Nathan the way that she is honest in her writing, and she does this specifically because she doesn’t want Nathan to go making decisions based on feelings for, or a potential future with, her. It isn’t fair to Nathan or Allie.
For those of us who haven’t lost a spouse traumatically, I don’t think it’s easy to understand this specific brand of anxiety/fear, but this episode made it really clear that this is something she’s really struggling with. The heart wants what it wants, but it also feels fear sometimes (and in this case, rightfully so).
Nathan offering to quit was wonderful but I think it would frighten Elizabeth just as much to feel she’s the cause for someone giving up something they’re passionate about. I personally think she’s thinking too much of Jack when it comes to that. Sure, Nathan’s a Mountie, and sure, he likes his job and is good at it like Jack was, but I think for Nathan family and safety would always come first.
It didn’t come first for Bill. It didn’t come first for Jack. But it would for Nathan. I don’t think Elizabeth realizes this—that for Nathan this isn’t him giving up his passion for love (or to settle down). It’s settling down because he wants to make a life here for himself and doesn’t want to ever have to leave, a choice he won’t get if he stays with the Mounties
For Jack, the Mounties were a Calling, a lifelong passion.
For Nathan, they were a career he enjoyed.
I’m interested to see when this will be revealed in the story and how that will make Elizabeth feel. No matter what, it’s scary to be the person ‘forcing’ someone else to give up something big, in this case Nathan’s livelihood (in exchange for her peace of mind). I have some personal experience with this. In fact, when I was dating my (now-)husband for the first time, he wanted to move to be with me. We were young. He had a college picked out. He had a career path. I had a job doing physical labor and I was living at home. If he needed help, my family would be too poor to assist and we had no extra space for him to stay. I refused. We actually broke up over it. There’s just so much pressure on the person who isn’t giving something up: fear of feeling indebted to someone, fear of the relationship HAVING to work out (or it was a waste of everyone’s time and money)...
Anyway, this storyline could mean a lot to me if it’s done right, so...I hope it is. :)
Overall this was another enjoyable episode. I was shocked at the intensity of the ending, and pleasantly surprised by most of the rest of it. Fiona’s actually growing on me as a character (she’s made of sterner stuff than some of them). I’m definitely looking forward to next week and I hope you are too!
My only real criticism so far, other than the ones outlined above, is the sheer number of scenes. I think it might be...a bit much. Almost...scattered? But we’ll see how they do in future episodes.
Feel free to message me with any thoughts/opinions/et cetera. ♥

CANTLON: (FRI) UMASS-LOWELL KNOCKS OFF UCONN 5-2
Tumblr media
BY: Gerry Cantlon, Howlings HARTFORD, CT - UMASS-Lowell senior and East Lyme native, Ryan Dmowski, scored two goals while goalie Tyler Wall made 38 saves and paced the UMASS-Lowell RiverHawks to a 5-2 win over the UCONN Huskies before an announced crowd of 3,334 at the XL Center on Friday night. “Certainly we're pleased we got the two points in a tough environment. I think he (Wall) was solid for the game. Dmowski can really shoot the puck. It was very good that he was able to do it in his home state. He always enjoys coming back here, and he was very excited about that,” UMASS-Lowell head coach, Norm Bazin, said. UCONN slips to .500 in its overall record (5-5-1 overall, 2-4-1 HEA)  and UMASS-Lowell climbs to the .500 mark (5-5-1 overall, 2-3-1 HEA) This was the Huskies last home date before leaving for Belfast, Northern Ireland and the Friendship Four tourney in Belfast, Northern Ireland was not the rousing success they hoped for. The Huskies and UMass-Lowell clash tomorrow at 5 pm at the Tsongas Arena in Lowell. “It was a disappointing loss,” UCONN head coach Mike Cavanaugh said. "At times we played some of our best hockey. We hadn’t put 40 shots on a goaltender yet this year. We had double digits each period, but margins for winning and losing are so small in this league. You can’t confuse effort with results either.” In a battle of junior goaltenders drafted by the Rangers and playing in the same building of their AHL affiliate, Wall came out on top over Adam Huska and each got beat on the first goal by plays by great shooters. Early in the third, Wall, who was solid in the second period when he made 16 saves, committed a big gaffe that led to UCONN’s second goal. Wall mishandled the puck at the side of the net on a clear-in. Karl El-Mir swooped in with speed and chipped in his sixth of the season at 2:28. It gave UCONN a glimmer of hope to get back in the game at 4-2. The Huskies battled throughout the period and looked like it caught a break at 14:32. Ruslan Ishakov caught a pass off the boards, raced in all alone on the left wing, and beat Wall to the short side. The ref, however, waved off the goal and called a penalty for Too Many Men on the ice. Cavanaugh was not a happy man with the goal being disallowed and vociferously objected the call, but he didn’t want to use it as an excuse for the loss. “Our guy jumped on and then jumped off. It wasn’t a factor in the play, but to the letter of the law, it was Too Many Men on the ice, but I’ve seen that let go quite a few times. Not one referee’s call should dictate a game. I‘m more concerned (about) the net front battlers that we lost than the referee’s call. Referees are human. They get a lot more calls right than they do wrong. I can disagree with a referee’s call, but it wasn’t the reason why we lost." In a span of 4:01 early in the second period, UMASS-Lowell took control of the game. Just 16 seconds into the period, the Huskies were caught flat-footed and turned the puck over. The combo of Levesque and Dmowski beat UCONN. Levesque put the shot on net while Dmowski was up high and won a one-on-one battle before redirecting the puck past Huska who was reacting to the shot from the point. Ryan Lohin, who scored four goals last weekend for the RiverHawks, added his fifth of the season. Junior Kenny Hausinger was able to come from behind the net on UCONN’s Roman Kinal. On the right wing, he sent a pass to the slot area where Lohin outworked Max Kalter and Carter Turnbull and fired it in to expand their lead to 4-1. “That was the disappointing part. They won the battles down there. When we got the pucks in their end, we won a couple and then he (Wall) makes the save.” Cavanaugh said. UCONN did try to get back in the game on the next shift. Jachym Kondelik had two good chances of his five shots for the game, but Wall stood his ground. “We did a good job getting the puck down there, we had a good forecheck. We hit a post and he made saves on us.” UCONN grabbed their only lead of the night at 4:28 of the first period. Sasha Payusov swiped the puck from a defenseman in the UMASS-Lowell zone and sent Ishkarov who sped in all alone. Ishkarov deked Wall to the ice and then swept in a forehand shot for his second goal. “That was one of the better games he's played so far this year. He managed the puck well, didn’t turn it over, and he was dangerous most of the night,” Cavanaugh said of the freshmen who was also a second-round pick of the New York Islanders. The RiverHawks struck back to even the game at one with a terrific goal of their own. Junior Charlie Levesque was at the right wing corner of the Huskies defensive zone. He took a pass from Connor Sodergren (3 assists) and outmuscled Corson Green behind the net in the right wing corner. He spotted Dmowski (Gunnery Prep) coming into the right wing circle before he snapped a shot across the grain, high to the blocker side for his third of the year. UMASS-Lowell expanded their lead in a play that was not without a little controversy. Wyatt Newpower was tripped up in the Huskies zone and there was no call made. The UCONN squad stopped playing for a second while expecting a whistle and stoppage. The stoppage never came. Lucas Condotta corralled the loose puck and snapped his third goal of the year with a shot low to the stick side with exactly 56 seconds left in the period. “You have to play to the whistle," Cavanaugh said. "Everybody assumed there was going to be a call. You can’t do that. It’s something we're all going to have to learn from.” NOTES: The Huskies next home game will be televised on CW Channel 20 against Boston College on Thursday, December 6th.  Cavanaugh dropped his first line to second to try to get away from UMass-Lowell's checking line. The Top Three teams in the nation are all from Minnesota. Among them is NOT the Golden Gophers of Minnesota, one of the nation’s premier collegiate programs. Defending national champion, the University of Minnesota Bulldogs are number 1. At number two is the St. Cloud State Huskies followed by Minnesota St.-Mankato at number three. Three Hockey East teams are in the polls. At #4 is UMASS-Amherst featuring the Calgary Flames draft pick, Cale Makar. At #9 is Providence College and 15th in USA Today and 13th in the USHCO, Northeastern. The USHCO ranks the Top 20. Cracking the barrier of being nationally ranked this week, is Arizona State. They are #18 at (9-3) for the first time in Sun Devils history. After Thanksgiving, expect the US and host Canada to be the first to announce their WJC (World Junior Championship) rosters for the annual tournament to be held in Vancouver and Victoria, BC starting on Boxing Day December 26th. UCONN could see Ishkarov and goalie Tomas Vomacka on the Russian and Czech teams respectively. Read the full article

The MLB draft concludes Wednesday, an exciting and important time for every organization. It’s also the annual reminder of how difficult it is to project high school and college players into the future. You know what else is difficult? Projecting players even closer to the majors into the future. Baseball is hard, with so many unknown variables.
From mock drafts to rankings, check out ESPN’s coverage of the 2018 MLB draft.
Armed with a devastating splitter and major league poise, Auburn’s ace is ready to live up to the hype now that the Detroit Tigers made him the first overall pick.
Between minor leaguers with major league bloodlines and future stars who have been involved in major trades, there are plenty of familiar names on this year’s list. Where did your team’s top young players land?
2 Related
This is a list of 10 players, all premium prospects coming up through the minors. I’ve chosen them more or less at random because their stat lines in 2018 jump out for various reasons. Five of them have negative WAR, one is at 0.0 and another is barely above replacement-level at 0.1 WAR. It’s still too early to call them busts — you never know in baseball — and some of them have had significant major league success at some point.
But they’re all at some type of crossroads in their careers. Let’s take a look.
Lucas Giolito, RHP, Chicago White Sox Stats: 3-6, 7.53 ERA, 55 IP, 56 H, 37 BB, 30 SO, 8 HR, minus-1.1 WAR Age: 23.327 Peak prospect status: No. 3 (pre-2016) by Keith Law, MLB.com, Baseball Prospectus
Giolito was regarded as one of the best high school right-handers scouts had ever seen when he regularly hit 99 mph during his senior season at Harvard-Westlake High School in Los Angeles, falling to the Nationals with the 16th pick in 2012 only because he sprained the ulnar collateral ligament in his right elbow. He made one pro appearance and then needed Tommy John surgery. He rebounded from that to become one of the top pitching prospects in the minors, but after a lackluster debut in 2016, the Nationals shipped him to the White Sox in the Adam Eaton trade.
White Sox fans may remember Scott Ruffcorn. It pains me to say this, but Giolito reminds me a little of him. Ruffcorn was a first-round pick in 1991 (not as highly regarded as Giolito) and dominated in the minors. For whatever reason, he couldn’t throw strikes in the majors — he had 70 walks in 70⅓ career innings. Giolito is averaging 6.1 walks per nine inning and he’s hit 10 batters, with more walks than strikeouts. We never see that kind of ratio anymore. We can analyze all the metrics a hundred ways, but I wonder if, like Ruffcorn, he simply lacks confidence at the major league level.
If you want to get into the numbers, he has especially struggled against lefties (.958 OPS), because his curveball and changeup haven’t developed into effective out pitches, and because of that he seems timid with the fastball in the zone. The only pitch really working for him is his slider. He has only 22 career starts, so it’s too early to give up on him as a starter for a rebuilding team like the White Sox, and maybe he needs to start showing some results.
Byron Buxton, CF, Minnesota Twins Stats: .156/.183/.200, 3 BB, 28 SO, 0 HR, minus-0.2 WAR Age: 24.170 Peak prospect status: Consensus No. 1 (pre-2014)
Buxton has shown flashes of brilliance — September 2016 when he hit nine home runs and the second half of 2017 when he hit .300/.347/.546 — but between those flashes have been long droughts of empty results at the plate. I talked to Twins chief baseball officer Derek Falvey in spring training and one notable thing he said is that Buxton wants so badly to be a great player and can put too much pressure on himself.
Buxton is on the disabled list with a broken big toe, but before the injury he was back into some bad habits at the plate, with a 39 percent chase rate. He was at 32.4 percent in the second half last year — still high, but at least a figure he could still do some damage on. Buxton now has over 1,000 big league plate appearances and owns a .285 career OBP. He doesn’t have to be great at the plate — he was worth 5.2 WAR last year even with a .314 OBP thanks to his brilliant defense — but he does need to be more consistent.
Miguel Sano, 3B, Twins Stats: .212/.282/.449, 12 BB, 52 SO, 7 HR, minus-0.1 WAR Age: 25.026 Peak prospect status: No. 4 (pre-2014) by MLB.com
It’s easy to see why the Twins have disappointed when two of their expected cornerstone players haven’t done the job. Sano’s strikeout rate has gone from extreme to scary. He was at 35-36 percent his first three seasons, but he is now at 40 percent — and that’s come with a deteriorating chase rate and thus a career-low walk rate (he was at 15.8 percent as a rookie but is at 9.2 percent this year). Sano has once again missed some time, but 52 strikeouts in 29 games translates to a mind-numbing 269 over 150 games. Somewhere, Joe Sewell is crying.
Sano was a 2.5-WAR player a season ago in just 114 games, so he isn’t a lost cause, but the regression in plate discipline is a big concern. His conditioning is another issue, and while he played an OK third base last season (minus-6 defensive runs saved), if he moves to first that puts even more pressure on the bat. Sano looked like a 45-homer slugger when he was so impressive as a rookie. Will he ever get there?
Tyler Glasnow, RHP, Pittsburgh Pirates Stats: 1-1, 4.35 ERA, 31 IP, 27 H, 16 BB, 40 SO, 2 HR, 0.2 WAR Age: 24.287 Peak prospect status: No. 6 (pre-2016) by Keith Law
Glasnow was always a wild card as a prospect given the issues of keeping his 6-foot-8 frame in consistent mechanics. As a starter in Triple-A, he dominated over parts of three seasons: 1.95 ERA, 321 K’s in 245 innings, allowing just 155 hits. He did walk 115 batters and that erratic command hurt him at the major league level in 2017, when he posted a 7.69 ERA in 13 starts and 62 innings. Hard to hit in Triple-A, big leaguers hit .319 off him and pounded 13 home runs off him. Ouch.
The Pirates didn’t mess around. They moved him to the bullpen, where the fastball velocity has picked up — averaging 96.3 mph — and he has limited the home runs and kept the walks somewhat in check. The potential rotation trio of Gerrit Cole, Jameson Taillon and Glasnow didn’t come to fruition, but at least Glasnow has the chance to be a dominant reliever and a potential closer with better control.
Austin Hedges, C, San Diego Padres Stats: .173/.235/.293, 6 BB, 30 SO, 2 HR, 0.0 WAR Age: 25.292 Peak prospect status: No. 18 (pre-2014) by Baseball Prospectus
High school catchers drafted in the first couple of rounds don’t have a glowing history, but Hedges quickly established himself as a strong two-way prospect after solid seasons in Class A in 2012 and 2013. His hitting tumbled at Double-A San Antonio in 2014, however, and the Padres rushed him to the majors in 2015.
Hedges retooled his swing at Triple-A in 2016 to add more power and then hit 18 home runs for the Padres in 2017 — albeit with a .214 average and .262 OBP. He’s never been much of a walker, but now his offensive game is a one-trick pony, kind of a National League version of Mike Zunino. We’ll give him a pass on 2018 as he has just 81 plate appearances and is on the DL with elbow tendinitis. The old cliché goes that catchers often develop late with the bat, so the Padres will have to continue to show more patience.
The Padres have one of the deepest farm systems, but the previous wave of prospects have yet to make a major impact — Hedges, Hunter Renfroe, Manuel Margot (who hasn’t hit after a promising rookie season in 2017), Cory Spangenberg, Dinelson Lamet (Tommy John surgery this spring). Hopefully the next generation will learn to take a few more walks.
Blake Swihart, OF/C, Boston Red Sox Stats: .157/.232/.176, 5 BB, 15 SO, 0 HR, minus-0.5 WAR Age: 26.064 Peak prospect: No. 10 (pre-2015) by Keith Law
After a promising debut behind the plate in 2015, Swihart missed much of 2016 and ’17 with injuries, getting just 453 plate appearances over the two seasons. He’s healthy this year but has hardly played (just 56 PAs), and in May his agent asked the Red Sox to trade him. Even though Red Sox catchers Christian Vazquez and Sandy Leon have both struggled at the plate, Swihart has caught just two innings.
What’s the future here? There just isn’t an opening for playing time. He’s blocked in the outfield, maybe no longer a catcher in the eyes of Red Sox management, but of use as a bench player. It becomes a dilemma of sorts: Do the Red Sox owe Swihart a chance to play somewhere else, or do they let him waste what could be his prime seasons as the final player on the bench?
Jurickson Profar, SS, Texas Rangers Stats: .231/.303/.410, 18 BB, 33 SO, 3 HR, 0.1 WAR Age: 25.106 Peak prospect status: Consensus No. 1 (pre-2013)
Profar became the top prospect after excelling in Double-A at 19, hitting for some power (14 home runs), showing good plate discipline (70 walks) and playing a good shortstop. Profar actually received a few plate appearances while still a teenager, although his rookie season in 2013 produced a lackluster .234/.308/.336 line in 85 games.
Then came shoulder surgeries in 2014 and 2015, with him missing one entire season and most of another. It’s impossible to know what that missed development time meant for his career trajectory, but he simply hasn’t hit as once projected. He’s gotten a chance to play this season with Elvis Andrus out, and while he’s shown doubles power (18 of them), his 21.8 percent fly ball rate and mediocre exit velocity average (86.2 mph) mean he’s not going to be a home run guy. His defensive metrics at shortstop also have been very poor (minus-8 DRS). When Andrus returns, Profar may go back to the bench — although given Rougned Odor‘s awfulness, I’d let Profar play second.
Zack Wheeler, RHP, New York Mets Stats: 2-4, 5.14 ERA, 56 IP, 62 H, 21 BB, 57 SO, 7 HR, minus-0.1 WAR Age: 28.007 Peak prospect status: No. 5 (pre-2013) by Baseball Prospectus
Wheeler is the oldest guy on this list, but he’s trying to get through his first full season since 2014. He had Tommy John surgery in the spring of 2015 and then was shut down in 2016 with a strained flexor muscle after making just one minor league appearance. He made 17 starts in 2017 with a 5.21 ERA, but he was twice on the DL with arm injuries and shut down in late August with a stress fracture.
So, this one is pretty easy: He’s never been able to stay healthy enough to get the most out of his ability. It’s worth noting that Wheeler’s 2014 season also wasn’t as impressive as it looks on the surface. He posted a 3.54 ERA in 185⅓ innings with 187 strikeouts — all good numbers for his full season. But that was the notorious pitcher’s year, and he did it in a pitcher’s park and the walk rate (3.8 per nine) was a little high. His WAR was just 0.9.
As for 2018, maybe he needs to rethink his approach. He’s thrown his fastball 55.5 percent of the time, but batters are hitting .311/.368/.508 against it. Out of 113 pitchers with at least 50 innings, he’s 13th in percentage of fastballs thrown and 82nd in wOBA allowed.
Or maybe this is a Mets thing: Noah Syndergaard has allowed .454 wOBA on his four-seam fastball (.364/.407/.636).
Addison Russell, SS, Chicago Cubs Stats: .272/.347/.348, 20 BB, 46 SO, 2 HR, 1.4 WAR Age: 24.134 Peak prospect status: No. 2 (pre-2015) by Baseball Prospectus
Russell is different from the other guys in that he’s proved to be a valuable big leaguer — 11.5 WAR since he came up in 2015, ranking tied for 50th among position players in that span. He’s been an All-Star and a World Series champ and Gold Glove-caliber shortstop (although he hasn’t won one).
So this is mostly about his bat. Coming up through the minors, his bat was raved about more than his defense. He popped 13 home runs as a rookie and 21 in the title year 2016, but the power has evaporated this season (although the average and OBP have gone up). He’s swinging a little less this season, but it’s remarkable how his underlying metrics have basically remained unchanged in his four big league seasons. The one exception is he’s hitting fewer fly balls this year and more line drives (which explains the low home run total and the higher average), although his average launch angle is the same.
Basically, this is probably who he is: an elite defender with a so-so bat, not enough power and not enough contact to significantly improve, so he’ll remain on that next tier of shortstops behind Francisco Lindor, Carlos Correa and a healthy Corey Seager (no shame in that). He’s under team control through 2021. The defense is important. The Cubs lead the NL in runs scored. Would you trade three years of Russell for three months of Manny Machado?
Kevin Gausman, RHP, Baltimore Orioles Stats: 3-5, 4.63 ERA, 70 IP, 81 H, 17 BB, 68 SO, 13 HR, 1.1 WAR Age: 27.151 Peak prospect status: No. 10 (pre-2014) by Baseball Prospectus
Gausman is kind of the Addison Russell of pitchers. He’s a quality major leaguer: 4.1 WAR in 2016, 2.0 last year, 1.1 so far this year. Still, it seems like we’re left wanting more. As with Russell, maybe that’s unfair. Gausman will have big games — he tossed nine scoreless innings of two-hit baseball against the A’s — and then follow it up with clunkers (19 runs in 19 innings in his past four starts, which actually includes 6⅓ scoreless frames against the White Sox).
Gausman is a fastball/slider/splitter guy, and when he gets ahead in the count, the splitter is a big wipeout pitch. But batters are hitting .364/.415/.599 against his fastball and he doesn’t throw the slider enough to make it a major weapon. That often turns him into a two-pitch guy, and his primary pitch is too hittable, despite plus velocity.
My first thought: Maybe he just needs to get out of Camden Yards. Well, he has a 3.65 career ERA at home and 4.77 on the road. His home run rates are similar. Like Russell, it seems this is who is: a good player who is going to make a lot of money in his career if he stays healthy. He’s just probably not going to turn into that ace.

Jack Of All Trades: Stars Who Are Each Actors And Athletes
When you concentrate on it, actors athletes are very related. Each are positioned within the highlight the place the entire world is ready to see. Then comes alongside these particular kind of people that double up on expertise. Individuals like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Chuck Connors took on each sports activities and performing. Some are extra gifted in a single space than the opposite however we’re not right here to guage.
NBA star LeBron James is aware of his means round a basketball court docket. He even will get animated and theatrical along with his teammates on the bench when his staff is successful. However does he know navigate the massive display screen? James performs himself within the 2015 movie Trainwreck (starring Invoice Hader and Amy Schumer) and though he has by no means taken on such a giant position, he was up for the problem.
“They stated, ‘You’re going to play your self,’ and I instructed them that I can try this simply,” James stated. “I can simply present up and say, ‘I’m LeBron. I play basketball and I can dunk.’ They stated, ‘No. You’re really going to be Invoice’s finest buddy within the film, and also you’re going to be a love physician who helps him patch issues up along with his girlfriend.’” He should have accomplished nicely as a result of Rotten Tomatoes gave it an 86 p.c!

There are 1,000,000 and one myths surrounding Chuck Norris. For instance, “Norris has a diary. It’s referred to as the Guinness E book of World Data.” You get the purpose. As of late, Norris is a conservative political activist. However earlier than all of that, he was a championship karate athlete. Whereas his performing profession was simply getting began, Bruce Lee solid Norris as a villain in Return of the Dragon that helped him launch his profession in 1972. He has since excelled at each performing and martial arts. Norris was inducted into the Martial Arts Historical past Museum’s Corridor of Fame in 1999, and has been awarded a star on the Hollywood Stroll of Fame.
Up subsequent is one massive man who wanted to be within the sport he performed.
Defensive finish Terry Crews was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 1991. He performed for numerous groups just like the Chargers, Eagles, and Redskins earlier than retiring in 1997. It wasn’t till he left soccer that Crews pursued performing.
Since retiring from soccer, Crews has confirmed that his performing expertise is as much as par. He performed a reoccurring position on the TV sitcoms All people Hates Chris and Are We There But? He’s most just lately acknowledged for his position as NYPD Sergeant Terry Jeffords within the TV sitcom Brooklyn 9-9, the place it turned clear that Crews not solely thrives taking part in roles in comedy however motion, too.
Actor Chuck Connors is understood for his well-known portrayal of Lucas McCain within the TV sequence The Rifleman however his expertise carried over into sports activities, too. Connors turned professional in each basketball and baseball. He was a member of the very first Boston Celtics staff in 1946. Connors additionally had the excellence of being the primary skilled basketball participant credited with shattering a backboard.
His excellent pure athletic talents landed him a spot on the Brooklyn Dodgers and the Chicago Cubs, the place he performed first base. However he realized he wasn’t going to make residing in sports activities, and turned to performing. The remainder is historical past.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson performed soccer on a full scholarship for the College of Miami. He graduated in 1995 and began coaching to turn into an expert wrestler. After being acknowledged as one of many biggest skilled wrestlers of all time, (he gained a record-breaking seven championship titles) The Rock got down to see what else was cookin’. He established himself as an actor whereas he wrestled within the WWF/WWE. He first began out with small components in TV reveals and rapidly took his performing profession to the subsequent degree with main roles in motion flicks, together with The Rundown, and The Scorpion King.

You might know Jason Lee finest from the sequence My Title is Earl. However earlier than he was entertaining us on display screen, he was skating ledges and launching over staircases with the perfect of them. That’s proper, Lee was a profitable skilled skateboarder. Are you aware how troublesome it was to turn into a professional again then? With out YouTube or Instagram for skaters to showcase their abilities and safe sponsorships, they needed to exit and earn it the arduous means.
Within the early ’90s, Lee determined that he wished to check out performing. When he put himself on the market, he caught the eye of actor and filmmaker Kevin Smith. Smith ended up casting Lee in a lead position within the comedy Mallrats.
Michael Jordan remains to be often known as the perfect basketball participant within the historical past of the NBA. We might go on for days speaking about his accolades and stats however we’ll simply say he went to the finals six occasions and gained all six. As compared, Kobe Bryant went seven occasions and solely gained 5. A G.O.A.T. (biggest of all time) is unblemished when it issues most.
Probably the most memorable movies starring an expert athlete must be Jordon in Area Jam. And he didn’t achieve this unhealthy performing with characters that weren’t actually there! Perhaps we should always all strive a few of his “secret stuff” he talks about within the Looney Tunes movies.
Nonetheless to return, Emma Stone performed what?
This should have been fairly some whereas in the past, when Jason Statham seems to have a head full of lovely hair. When he was a teen, The Transporter actor was fairly athletic. He was impressed when he noticed a man doing a excessive dive whereas he was on vacation, and was instantly drawn to the game.
You might not count on man who performs such powerful characters on display screen to be a diver. However Statham was aside of the British Nationwide Diving Squad for twelve years! He says that though his performing profession has taken off, not competing within the Olympics remains to be a sore spot for him.
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar is an NBA legend and for good cause. He’s considered one of solely seven gamers in NBA historical past to achieve the 30,000 level mark. He’s additionally the all-time chief in factors (till somebody reaches 38,388 profession factors or extra). However are you conscious Abdul-Jabbar additionally acted in movies?
By the point the Lakers have been on prime of the NBA, the middle had already began his performing profession. Like Chuck Norris, he fought Bruce Lee in Sport of Dying and was additionally within the comedy Airplane as himself. What would you do for those who noticed a legendary NBA participant sitting within the cockpit of your airplane?
Emma Watson from the wildly profitable Harry Potter franchise just isn’t solely a terrific actress however because it seems, she can also be fairly athletic. Her spellbinding sassiness she shows on display screen have to be from expertise. Any athlete who competes on the collegiate or skilled degree has some kind of hearth in them. Whereas attending Brown College, Watson was a member of the membership discipline hockey staff. We’re prepared to wager no less than one individual referred to as her ‘Hermione’ a few times.
Proceed on and also you’re positive to be in for a shock.
John Cena is among the hottest wrestlers to ever step foot within the ring. Ever since The Rock left wrestling, it was Cena’s thrown for the taking. In school, he additionally performed Division III soccer at Springfield Faculty. President of WWE, Vince McMahon began a film manufacturing firm in 2005 so you may guess what occurred subsequent.
McMahon selected Cena for a lead position in one of many firm’s first movies, The Marine. Cena has been in a number of roles right here and there (just like the Hefty business!) however his principal focus remains to be wrestling.
Romeo Miller is greater than only a baby prodigy. The music artist as soon as often known as Lil’ Romeo makes music, acts, fashions, and for a brief stint, performed collegiate basketball for the USC Trojans. The son of hip-hop artist Grasp P., Romeo is most well-known for his music. When Romeo was barely a teen he already had a single at No. 1 on the R&B Billboard chart. However not many individuals are conscious that basketball most likely means essentially the most to him out of his many abilities. His father additionally performed for the USC Trojans from 2008-2010.
Broadway Joe Namath was an expert soccer star who first performed for the College of Alabama earlier than catapulting to stardom because the Jets quarterback. In 1965 he was named AFL Rookie of the 12 months. In 1967, he was the primary skilled quarterback to cross for four,000 yards in a season when he threw four,007 yards in.
Namath finally began accepting small roles on TV taking part in himself. He had a straightforward going persona that led to him internet hosting a number of speak reveals. That is the place his nickname got here from. He was an icon.
Bruce Lee started showing in movies from a really younger age, as his father was a Cantonese opera star with many connections. However martial arts rapidly consumed him, and Lee dropped out of school and put performing on maintain to open a martial arts studio in Oakland, California. Quickly he developed his personal model of combating referred to as Jeet Kun Do. One producer noticed Lee’s expertise and requested him to audition.
Lee auditioned and landed the position of Kato within the TV sequence The Inexperienced Hornet. He then went on to play a task in 5 feature-length movies. Sadly, Lee ended up passing away on the younger age of 32, however he has put his mark on martial arts after which movies surrounding it endlessly.
Shaquille O’Neal is likely to be essentially the most dominant participant in NBA historical past. He was just about unguardable. His solely flaw was his free throw taking pictures, which led to the time period “Hack-a-Shaq”. That is what gamers and followers referred to as it when the opposing staff deliberately fouls a poor free throw shooter as a result of they know they’ll miss. Outdoors of dunking on folks, O’Neal was additionally a rapper and an actor. Shaq acted in a number of movies like Kazaam and Blue Chips. As of late, he’s an NBA analyst for the Emmy award-winning TNT present Contained in the NBA.
O.J. Simpson, what can we are saying about him that you just don’t already know? He was exonerated of the costs within the homicide case of his ex-wife Nicole and her buddy Ron Goldman. He was probably the most spectacular school athletes at USC. He additionally set an NFL dashing file whereas taking part in with the Payments. However you already knew that. Within the ’70s and ’80s, The Juice was a profitable actor. He’s most recognized for his work in Roots and The Bare Gun.
The Juice was additionally an in depth buddy of the household of our subsequent athlete-actor.
Earlier than Caitlin Jenner made the transition that froze popular culture, she was labeled the perfect athlete on the earth. That’s the title you get if you win the gold medal within the Olympic decathlon. Jenner did simply that in 1980. At one time, she was additionally a university soccer participant. After the Olympics, she turned to leisure. Maintaining with the Kardashians isn’t the one time she appeared on the silver display screen. She additionally performed a bike cop on the ’80s hit CHiPs.
Nonetheless developing, see what a former beautiful wrestler is as much as.
Picture: Catherine Steenkeste/NBAE/Getty Photographs
Rick Fox is a former NBA champion for the Los Angeles Lakers. He had a silky clean three-point shot that helped the Lakers massive time in clutch conditions. And will we point out that he’s kind of a heartthrob? He had tons of girls throughout him even earlier than the NBA, whereas taking part in for the College of North Carolina.
Fox began his performing profession nearly on the similar time he started his NBA profession. Since that point, he has been in tons of of visitor starring roles on each tv and movie. You might keep in mind his cameo on the finish of the Disney movie, Holes.
Yet one more WWE wrestler has made the record. This time it’s a stunning girl. Stacy Keibler was wildly well-liked within the wrestling world. It could have been as a result of everybody lusted after her however she was wrestler as nicely. As soon as she left that world she entered a brand new realm: performing.
Keibler has appeared in a handful of flicks and TV reveals. They embody Samurai Woman, What About Brian and Bubble Boy from 2001. Her most well-known transfer didn’t come from the ring, it was when she dated George Clooney.
Like father, like son so the saying goes. Maybe the largest affect on his son’s life must be himself, Percy Miller. Often called Grasp P by the lots, Miller was and is greater than only a file maker. No Restrict Data was once one of many greatest labels in rap. Miller was kind of a renaissance man.
Rapping apart, Miller additionally starred in a number of movies again within the ’90s. Films like I Acquired the Hook-Up and Silly. The films weren’t blockbuster hits however Miller had abilities elsewhere too. Comparable to basketball. He was a member of the Toronto Raptors and the New Orleans Hornets.

Ramblings: Bruins Blast Sens; Ovi and Backstrom Lead Caps; Forsberg; Sprong – December 31
Daniel Sprong was recalled by Pittsburgh on Saturday afternoon. Sprong has 18 goals and 28 points as a 20-year old in the AHL this year, a year after averaging over a goal per game in the QMJHL last year. You can ready his Dobber Prospects profile here.
With the Pens at the bottom of the league in five-on-five shooting percentage – which is hard to fathom – they are clearly looking for a scoring spark. Maybe he can provide it? Without PP1 time, he won’t be otherworldly in fantasy, but we are just a season removed from Conor Sheary putting up 23 goals and 53 points in 61 games in a similar situation. If you have room on your bench, it’s worth the shot. If he can draw into that top-six, and the team starts heating up, there’s serious upside here. It looks like he’s starting in the bottom-six, though:
Just to be completely accurate here: Forwards in black: Crosby, Guentzel, Kessel, Hornqvist, Hagelin, G. Wilson Gold/yellow: Sheary, Sheahan, Sprong, Kuhnhackl, Rowney, Reaves
— Jason Mackey (@JMackeyPG) December 30, 2017
*
The story of late for Boston has been depth scoring and that trend continued Saturday night in Ottawa. Ryan Spooner scored twice and goals added by David Krejci and Noel Acciari helped cement their 5-0. The other tally was by Patrice Bergeron.
Tuukka Rask wasn’t really asked to do much but did save all 25 shots he faced. After his awful start to the year, Rask is now sitting at a very solid .923 save percentage. Anyone that bought low on him, kudos. Anyone that sold low on him, sorry?
*
Sean Kuraly came incredibly close to having a very bad gash across his face or neck:
*
Christian Djoos had a goal and an assist in the first half of the first period in Washington’s game against New Jersey on Saturday night. Scoring a goal as a third-pair defenceman is nice and all, but it was the assist that was his highlight:
DJOOS FINDS WILSON, WILSON FINDS NET! 2:26 IN AND THE CAPITALS LEAD! pic.twitter.com/3epJo87inb
— NHL Daily 365 (@NHLDaily365) December 31, 2017
Just the confidence to shake the oncoming Devils player, get down low, and find Tom Wilson is something special. Sometimes with a rookie blue liner, he will make it a point (often at the direction of his coach) to “keep it simple.” Rather than floating a puck on net, Djoos created a goal out of nothing. He’s impressive.
Djoos won’t have fantasy value this year; he just doesn’t play enough. Moving forward beyond this year, though, this is a guy I would be trying to acquire in dynasty leagues.
*
It was a banner night for Washington’s top line as Alex Ovechkin had three assists and Nicklas Backstrom had a goal and two assists. It was actually Ovechkin’s third three-assist game this season. He had one such game over the previous six seasons. John Carlson also had a goal and two assists, with the goal being of the power-play variety.
*
This came up during the Caps game. Does anyone double-check these?
*
André Burakovsky was a healthy scratch for Saturday’s game.
This was inevitable after he played fewer than nine minutes in each of Washington’s two games coming out of the holiday break, but it’s still disheartening for those hoping he’d carry fantasy value. He’s shooting a lot less this year (13.08 shot attempts per 60 minutes at five-on-five compared to 16.14 last year). The coaching staff is obviously unhappy with his play, but hopefully this wakes him out of his funk.
*
Connor Brickley scored Florida’s first goal of their game against Montreal. He also eventually joined the second line early in the second period, skating alongside Vincent Trocheck and Denis Malgin. Evgenii Dadonov was moved down to the third line.
At times this year, the Panthers have used Brickley in their top-six. He never showed much of a scoring touch in the AHL, so I doubt this is anything long-term. For Dadonov owners, though, the continued demotions should be a little worrisome. Before he was injured in late November, when he was skating on the top line and top PP unit, he was playing just a shade under 20 minutes a game, and had 18 points in 22 contests. Since returning from injury on December 12th, he’s playing a full three minutes less per contest, and has zero goals. Is he still injured? Maybe the league is catching up with him? Whatever it is, he’s looking less and less of a draft-day steal.
*
James Reimer was the story in Sunrise as he made 35 saves for the 2-0 shutout win. Reimer finishes the December with a .932 save percentage for the month with two shutouts and seven wins. Not a bad 30 days.
*
Outside of Reimer’s performance, the Panthers/Habs game was rather dull. There was this little nugget from intermission, though:
On Hockey Night, @RealKyper says Bergevin is actively shopping Pacioetty, seeking to get a top goal-scorer in return.
— Evan Sporer (@ev_sporer) December 31, 2017
It seems to me that trading one of the top goal scorers over the last half-decade who is on a very team-friendly contract for another top goal scorer is dumb, but that’s just me.
Regardless, this could be good news for fantasy owners. Pacioretty is going to bounce back regardless of where he plays, but imagine if he ends up with Ryan Johansen, or Anze Kopitar, or Brayden Schenn as his centre?
*
St. Louis went with 11 forwards in this game. By the end of their 3-2 win on Saturday night, Scottie Upshall was with Tarasenko/Schenn, Berglund stayed on a line all game with Brodziak and Steen while Stastny was between Tage Thompson and Vladimir Sobotka, until late in the game when Paajarvi joined Stastny and Sobotka. It seems Schenn/Tarasenko is the only sure thing up front right now.
Parayko and Thompson, by the way, were moved to the top PP unit for the game with Steen and Pietrangelo moving to the second unit. If Thompson can maintain his top-six slotting with top PP minutes, he can carry some redraft value. Again, however, this seems like a situation that can change quickly.
*
Lucas Wallmark scored his first career goal for Carolina. You can read his Dobber profile here.
*
Bad news, sports fans:
The Predators have placed Filip Forsberg on injured reserve. https://t.co/H0trFE5yOJ
— Adam Vingan (@AdamVingan) December 30, 2017
During the first intermission of the Kings-Canucks game, Nick Kypreos said at least two weeks. There's more news to come on that front, but that's the baseline for fantasy owners to know.
Calle Jarnkrok started the game Saturday night with Ryan Johansen and Viktor Arvidsson, keeping the Kyle Turris line together. He also took Forsberg’s spot on the top PP unit. Jarnkrok is a good two-way player, but I’m not sure he’ll stick around long on the top line. We’ll see. He did have two assists in their game, so, good start.
Juuse Saros, by the way, got the shutout for the Preds in their 3-0 win, making 29 saves along the way. It’s his second shutout of the year and he now has a .925 save percentage. Craig Smith had five shots on goal, a night after putting up 11 shots. He had 51 shots on goal in 12 games. Yowza.
*
It’s New Year’s Eve and with just six games on the docket for Saturday night, I thought it would be a good time to go over the year that was 2017. These are just some random facts and stats from the previous 365-ish days that are of importance to fantasy hockey owners. These stats will be taken from Dobber’s Frozen Pool, Corsica, Natural Stat Trick, and NHL.com (at my own peril). Today will be forwards, tomorrow will be defencemen and goalies. Reminder that these were all tallied before Saturday night’s action.
Shot Leader
It is Evander Kane (4.11) and not Alex Ovechkin (4.02) that leads the league in shots on goal per game since January 1st. Everyone knows that Kane shoots a lot, but surpassing the guy who has typically been the far-and-away leader since the 2005 lockout in this regard puts him in another stratosphere. With the way things are going in Buffalo, and the fact that Kane’s contract is up after this year, he’ll probably be on the move by the trade deadline. Imagine that shot volume on a good offensive team?
  Power-Play Goals
Over his last 83 games, Tomas Tatar has as many PP goals (11) as Sidney Crosby, Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin, and David Pastrnak. I suppose the reason this doesn’t get talked about very often is that he has just 14 total power-play points. That lack of assists really hurts in leagues that just count total man-advantage production. In fact, going back further, he has just four PP assists over his last 119 games. There is a chance he may not crack 40 total points this year, though an increase in power-play scoring from his teammates could go a long way in buoying his overall production.
  David Pastrnak Is Really Good
I’m basically just a David Pastrnak fanboy now. As far as power-play production goes, the 21-year old Czech is tied for fourth in 2017 with Claude Giroux at 31 points. Beyond that, he’s on a very short list of players to have accomplished the following: 30 goals, 40 assists, 240 shots on goal. The others on this list are Nikita Kucherov, Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Jack Eichel, John Tavares, and Patrick Kane. Say it loudly enough for the people in the back: Pastrnak is on the short list for elite wingers in the NHL, and he hasn’t hit his prime yet.
  Goal Scoring
There were four players to score at least 40 goals in 2017 and they are as follows: Nikita Kucherov (51), Anders Lee (44), Brad Marchand (44), and Alex Ovechkin (40). It is stunning just how good Lee’s year was. His 44 goals tied him for second in the league, his 73 points were as many as Vladimir Tarasenko, and his 23 power-play points were more than Patrick Kane. Over his career, he’s now averaging 30 goals every 82 games. Of course, the big shoe to drop is what happens with John Tavares in the offseason. Not that I would advocate outright trading Anders Lee in keeper leagues, and if Tavares does leave, maybe he fits as well with Mathew Barzal. All that said, his value will never be higher than it is right now.
  Squealer For Ehlers
Of the 19 players with at least 30 goals, 30 assists, and 200 shots on goal since the calendar turned, Nikolaj Ehlers is the fourth-youngest behind Eichel, Matthews, and Pastrnak. I suppose as far as the 2017-18 season is concerned, people could have been hoping for more than 60-65 points from Ehlers, but it’s worth noting he’s on pace to soar past 30 goals, and maybe crack 35. The issue with Ehlers is that Bryan Little and Patrike Laine – his line mates most of this year – have just 11 goals at five-on-five. With Ehlers playing the second PP unit the majority of the year, it hasn’t allowed him to rack up the assists. Stay patient, my friends. This is a top-end offensive talent.
  Do The Bartman
youtube
Ok, not Bartman, but Hartman. As in Ryan Hartman. In calendar 2017, there were five forwards who managed 20 goals and 80 penalty minutes: Evander Kane, Wayne Simmonds, Patrick Maroon, Milan Lucic, and Hartman. It should be noted, of course, that he’s done this in way less ice time per game (12:51) than anyone else (next closest is 16:26, and three of the five are over 17 minutes). Anyone who reads my Ramblings regularly knows I’m a big Hartman fan, though with Joel Quenneville’s proclivity for going all Boggle on his lines it’s hard to rely on him for consistent top-six minutes even if he lines up there for a game or two. Regardless, in deeper leagues, Hartman contributes across the board, and he can be viable in shallower formats if he ever gets a bigger permanent role.
*
Not really fantasy-relevant, but in an interview with TSN during Canada’s semi-final Spengler Cup contest, René Fasel (President of the IIHF) said that NHL owners have already committed to sending NHLers to Beijing in 2022. This obviously fits with the NHL’s strategy of increasing coverage in China, but it’s still infuriating for anyone that was hoping they’d go to South Korea for 2018. I suppose, if anything, we’ll get Sidney Crosby in a grizzled-and-aging veteran’s role as a third or fourth liner, which is an incredibly weird thought to have. They grow up so fast.

Note: there are two rocks that fit the description one closer to the entrance of megaton and one further on the one that is furthest is the right rock this is going to the left of megatons entrance around to the back the rock is near the wall.
Unlimited Caps
Go to anyone that sells leather armor, combat armor, or laser pistols. Make sure they have 2 of at least one of these. Buy the cheaper one. Sell it back. You should have lost money. Do it again and you will gain money because you are selling the trader the fully repaired version of the item you bought. Keep repeating this until you have gotten all their caps. Buy everything you want from them (leaving enough caps to buy the leather armor, combat armor, or laser pistol)then repeat the process now wait (press the select/back button) for 3 to 4 days. All their stock will be back including their caps. Repeat for as long as desired. If it doesn’t work you are doing it wrong.
Power Armor Without Power Armor Training
What you want to do is, go to the top right corner of the map. Then go to a small town SW with death claws. You want to go to the sewers. Fight your way to a corridor where there is a man with power armor and another body, loot both boodys. The power armor talks when there are hostiles around and applies stimpacks to you when you are low on health. AND you DO NOT need power armor training, and it has some air force decals on the shoulder pads.
Get A Discount At Craterside
Go to moria brown. She’ll ask you about the survival book that she wants to make. Once you complete the first chapter and tell her about the book and how she can get someone kill if she mess up. She’ll say your right well I guess I should’nt work on the book now. Once you ask about trading she will give you a discount and discount on repair. Its 25% off so enjoy as much you.
T-51b Power Armour Location
When you go to fort Constantine after you get all the keys from the quest you gotta shoot em in the head you will be able to open up a secret box or locker you have to travel to the very bottom of the fort which is hard because its infested with robots anyway after you go down to the last level there will be a door or a locker or a box that requires the keys that you got from the quest when you unlock it it will reveal the normal t-51b power armor the creators made this so that it would be more realistic from the one in operation anchorage because the one in anchorage never breaks but any way good luck with the new armor.
Unique Weapon: Xuanlong Assault Rifle (Chinese Assault Rifle)
To obtain this weapon, go to the Museum of technology and when your inside, find the three terminals
Terminal #001 – 19 (Ground floor, across the entrance room) (The same terminal needed to start the quest)
Terminal #002 – 53 (In the Museum West Wing, which is past the Vault tour)
Terminal #003 – 113 (Ground floor by the Delta rocket)
After you unlock the three terminals, go to the Diner in Jury Street Metro Station. In there you will find Prime’s body, search his body and he will have the Xuanlong Assault Rifle along with 500 caps, explosives, and ammo. (NOTE: if you make an error in the terminals, you will be unable to obtain the weapon. ).
Location Of A Fat Man
To find a fat man, go to the capital building which is located on the other side of the mall were he Washington Monument is go in side the fat man will be located were the behemoth is but be careful a bounty hunter has it (if you don’t kill him in one shot he will either use it on you or you will brake the fat man the fat man is expensive to fix).
Best Armor In Game
In the quest you gotta shoot em in the head get all the keys for Crowley and give them to him. He will get up and leave the underworld. When he gets to the main room where the T-rex skeleton is, kill him and take his keys. (NOTE: this will only work if you have not finished the quest yet). Head northwest until you get to a place called Fort Constantine (it is near raven rock). Go into the CO quarters and keep going deeper into the fort, when you get to a room with three doors and a dead body by one of them, go into the only one that doesn’t have lock level 100. You will find the best armor in the game called the T-51b armor in the stasis field, there is also a fatman and some mini nukes too. (be sure to explore the rest of the fort including the main building there is some extra goodies around.)
Pintsize Slasher Mask
At point lookout in a hotel room in a bathtub you find a sketlon with the pintsize slasher mask.
Free Pet Dog!!
On your way to the Minefield, you’re almost there, but keep looking at your left. If you see some big antenas, go behind them, and continue to the Minefield. You’ll start to see some big white ramps. Between two of the ramps, you will see a dead body, so it will let you know your almost to a dog. You are now in the Scrapyard! Go all the way to the left on a fence until you see the enterence. When you see the enterence, don’t open it. Just keep going straight until you get to a turn. Take a right, and you’ll see another turn. Turn right. Now keep on going straight untill you enter a train yard inside the Scrapyard. Now you’ll start to hear shooting, hurry and follow the shooting. You’ll see a raider killing a dog. Kill ONLY the raider! When the raider is dead, but the dog is still alive, talk to the dog. When you say the right words, the dog is your friend, and it will follow you. So now you earned a dog.
Survive Fall
When you fall from a high distance just hit b on your controller and go to your pip boy then hit b again and you land a fall from a high distance. NOTE: I always do this when I’m on a quest and I wanna get out.
Aromory In Megaton
In megton there is a armory where lucas simms keeps his weapons. The lockpick is very hard 100. If you break in, a robot like mister gutsy will start shooting you. Ths is what I did I unlock and ran to my house where deptuy sheriiff attack my robot wadsworth and he is dead now let wadworth wound the robot but he will die if you do. Go back to armory and you will see chinesse assault rifle and a hunting rifle and combat shotgun its up to you if you want to sell them. NOTE: some of the guns are horrible condition.
Alien Crash Site
Right next to the MOLP-13 power station a crash site is up 2 grid lines then turn right you should get a new radio signal or a beacon the beacon sounds like someone is speaking alien. You see a alien on a floor and a alien gun with 10-110 shots. NOTE: if you get the beacon signal its call the recon draft ship and if your fall your lose the signal so good luck.
Enclave Telsa Armour And Plasma Rifle
This is simple. After you escape the jefferson memorial and go to the citdal go to the arliton library right next to the alexandra arms. Go inside the library and go back out. Go to where the raiders are when they hide and you will hear two enclave helicopters droping off the enclave I recemend not to attack. Just wait a hour or attack and if you wait you will see 3 enclave kill. One by getting hit by steel. Second, they got shot third, the got shot by the mark4 laser turrent.
Going To Vault 87 Through The Radiation
When you have to get the geck, you have to go through little lamplight. But there is a easier way. First get rad radiation perk fully then get a advance radiation suit that moira brown got then you shoud be able to go through without getting poison. NOTE: if you do, get the brotherhood of steel holotag and then give it to scribe jameson.
Two Eugenes
When you finish the quest Rileys Rangers, she asks you if you want a minigun or armor. Take the minigun then kill brick. The minigun Riley gives you is called Eugene and brick has Eugene.
People Giving You Free Suff
When you reach level 8, 9, or 10 (I forgot what level) a girl in Megaton will start to give you free items like ammo, chems (like stimpacks and all that) food, and 10% weapons. But when she gives the items to you, you have to wait like a week in the game so she can give you more.
The Gatling Laser
If you find a Brotherhood of Steel person, and if they have a big battery on their backs, they have the Gatling Laser. The Gatling Laser is a Laser that shoots straight, has nice accuracy, and does a lot of damage. Find it, try it, love it.
How To Rack Up XP
Simply walk up to a single person (its to hard to do with a group) draw a weapon that will almost kill them but doesn’t. After getting them close to death, pause the game and raise the difficulty to hard. Then kill them, you get almost double XP! Good Luck!
Deathclaw Follower
This is actually only available to those with the broken steel expansion. On the quest where you need to get the tesla coil you have to talk to rothchild and ask him about something that can help you with old olney. He will send you to another scribe that gives you a device called a deathclaw scrambler control. (or something close to that) it makes it so all enclave mind controlled deathclaws are friendly to you and will protect and follow you. NOTE normal deathclaws are still hostile and when fastraveling while having a deathclaw follower, it will die. (reasons unknown).
Easist Way To Kill Any Enemy
The way I kill all my enemy is I get out my dart gun and terrible shotgun (or combat shotgun). First you need to make dart gun if you don’t have 1. Then you can find the terrible shotgun at evergreen mills. )ok back 2 the hint. All you have 2 do is shot your enemy with some darts. Then you shoot’em in the face with the shotgun.
Ultimate Operation Anchorage Cheat
When you download Operation Anchorage, you know the infinite ammo cheat right?
With the ammo dispenser, get full ammo, drop it then refill, then continue, but, what happens if you bring all those ammo and weapons to the capitol wasteland?
Well you can! Before you get in the simulator pod in the outcast base, kill someone, and everyone else if you want to. Then drag his/her body to the pod and put it in the pod seat, so if you sit down in it, you can search him/her.
Save before going into the simulator, then play through until you get to the part after you blow up the artillery cannons.
Make sure you did the lots of ammo! Or infinite if you call it that cheat!
When you get to choose your loadout, ( picked the close combat loadout first) preferably your favorite weapons like the 10mm pistol, combat shotgun, power fist, assault rifle, sniper, 10mmsub. , missile launcher. Those are, I think, all the weapons you get from the loadouts.
Then do infinite ammo cheat lots! Then drop your loadout in the armory, change your loadout (only can do once so pick wisely)!
Go back to the armory, pickup your new loadout from the man, grab your previous loadout you dropped, then do the infinite ammo glitch with all your weapons.
Play through until you pass the electro minefield, and save before entering where the Chinese general dude is.
Then go inside with the t51b dudes, and kill or persuade the Chinese general.
General chase appears, talk, then the simulators over, but on the loading screen keep pushing A and pointing down if you put the body earlier down like me.
You may have to try a few times, but, if succeeds, you search the dead body.
Then put all your weapons, ammo and awesome winterized combat armor in the body, then you get out of the pod, which then you search the body for the invincible weapons, and armor.
You heard me – invincible!
Now loot the armory, and go outside, make sure you have a follower, so you can store heavy weapons and armor that he/she will carry!
The Abraham Lincoln Action Figure
When you are at the museum of history go down the hall and turn left until you get to a a wooden door not the giant skull door but. You can not easily find the figure go inside and it will take you in the lower levels of the building be prepared there is 1 glowing one and about 30 feral ghouls kill all them and loot the area then go into a room with book shelves this is the treasure of this area then go inside behind one of the book shelves is a action figure of Abraham Lincoln this is just a easter egg that does not sell for a lot but it makes a unique house decoration. NOTE:this area is always found when doing the head of state quest when you have 2 find the large poster of the memorial.
To Get A Dog Follower
Go to the scrapyard east of paradise falls in the east part of the scrapyard you will find a dog fighting raiders talk to him and he will start to follow you he can find food ammo and guns.
Location Of Agility Bobble Head
Go to minefield and up two grid squares on the map and one to the right and at the top middle of that square will be GREENER PASTURES DISPOSAL SITE go in the building and it will be right there on a desk next to a computer.
Unique Weapon: Zhu-Rong V418 Chinese Pistol (Chinese Pistol)
To obtain this weapon, travel to L. O . B Enterprises. It is found behind a Very Hard locked door (requires 100 lockpick) in the CEO’s office in the case on his desk. The key for the case is inside his desk. It is also possible to reach the case by working your way around the edge of the destroyed top floor until you are on the other side of the locked door.
SWAT Sheild
This is the same as a MEATSACK. But instead of just a shopping cart, bodies can be used as a bullet catcher! Just decapitate the body (to make it lighter), pick it up (the body) and keep it pointed at the enemy. NOTE: this will NOT work on melee opponents or heavy weapons, mini guns excluded. But laser based or bullet based will be absorbed by the dead body in front of you. This is a good tactic against raiders and super mutants. Not lurks or ferals. You can’t fire while doing this so get close and slash and gash is this technique!
Alien Crash Coordinates
On the Word Map, Zoom to where you can easily see the grid. Starting from top left, go to the 3rd grid down (not intersections), then grid 12 to the left. I t should be near the center or top of the grid.
Unique Weapon: Victory Rifle (Sniper Rifle)
To get the Victory Rifle, go to Rockbreaker’s Last Gas in the Abandoned Sniper Shack (where you will find Keller transcript 4) in a locker that requires 100 lockpick skill. If you do not have 100 lockpick skill, it is still possible to obtain it
1. Bring Jericho or Star Paladin Cross or Clover since they will want to shoot Fluffy and Jitters, the radroaches.
2. Have Dogmeat and tell him to find a weapon, he will eventually retrieve it
3. If Talon Company Mercs or Regulators spawn outside the hut to kill the player. Go back into the hut and keep shooting out their weapons.
Fisto!
To get Fisto! You have to have discovered Minefield. The power station North of it is where ya need to be headin’. It’s the bigger building not the tiny one. This was easy for me because I had my GhoulMask from Tenpenny Tower. If you don’t have this, get ready to fight four Glowing Ones and like 20 Ferals. But Fisto! Is on the top floor in the big generator room.
Keller Transcripts Locations
For obtaining the MIRV, you will need all 5 Keller transcripts. Here are the tape’s locations.
Tape 1: Go to the VAPL-58 Power Station then head North following the electric/hydro towers and it’ll be at the base of the last one (third tower). The tape is on the bookcase at the bottom shelf.
Tape 2: Go to Hallowed Moors Cemetery North of Big Town. Going in at the front entrance, the second Keller tape will be on the left on top of the podium.
Tape 3: Go to Grisly Diner and head inside, then go to your right and out the back. The third Keller tape is located on a desk at the back.
Tape 4: Go to Rockbreaker’s Last Gas and turn to the west. You will see the Sniper Shack at the top of a cliff, Enter the shack and the tape will be on the workbench on the left (You will also find the Victory Rifle there in a locker that requires 100 lockpick skill).
Tape 5: Go to Anchorage Memorial and head to the north. Across the river there is a truck on its side and a tent behind it. Inside the tent on the table is the fifth Keller tape.
These tapes are used to open the door in the National Guard Depot in the armory.
Unique Weapon: Experimental MIRV (Fat Man)
To find this, go to the National Guard Depot, go to the armory and there is a terminal. However , it cannot be hacked so you need all 5 Keller transcripts (some reason, I got in there with only using 4 transcripts). When you have all 5, you can enter the room. The MIRV is on a table along with 5 mini-nukes and 1 nuka-cola quantum under the table.
Get Two Followers
OK so first off in order for this to work you need to go to megaton and talk to Jericho and ask him to follow you (you need to have under 1000 caps)he will tell you he can’t and he says comeback when you got the caps. Now leave and go to underworld and get Charon by killing the other clerk. Take Charon to megaton and talk to Jericho again you should get a different dialog option Ex. I got the caps now want to join me. (you must have at least 1000 caps now) and he should reply sure I want to get back out there again. And that’s all there is too it. (NOTE if you leave the main dc ruins to do an expansion you will lose the capabilities to have two followers at once).
Unique Sword
The unique Chinese officers sword is tricky to get, you have to do the Blood Ties quest, when you meet the family, you have to pickpocket Vance, he has a sword cabinet key and he is almost impossible to pickpocket. To do this right save just before picking his pocket then try if you fail re-load and try again. His room is on the top, first door on the left, it has a big nice white bed.
Unique Weapon: Vengeance (Gatling Laser)
To find this, go to deathclaw sanctuary and go southeast of the cave and find a pool of blood and you will simply find it laying there. (note: the deathclaws are powerful so I recommend you have either Lincoln’s Repeater, The Terrible Shotgun, Alien Blaster, or Firelance. Or you can have Fawkes and let him mow down the deathclaws. ).
Giant Teddy Bear
In SatCom Array NN-03d, go to NN-03b-B by underground from NN-03b-A. You will see the section of the room that looks like a laboratory. Right next you can see a passage been blocked by nailed up plank wood. If you take a look inside, there is a giant teddy bear lock up by the barricade. It is possible to take the teddy bear. To obtain it, you need 15 frag mines and a BB gun. Throw the 15 frag mines on the table (if they fall on the floor it will still work) equip your BB gun and shoot the mines, the giant teddy bear will glitch through the wall for you to take it, they can be used as unique decorations for your house. (note: once picked up, keep it til you get to your house and drop it, if you take it again, it be back to a normal size teddy bear).
Unique Weapon: Smuggler’s End (Laser Pistol)
To get this weapon, go to the citadel. And go to Elder Lyon’s room in ring B. Its in the wall safe (requires 100 lockpick skill) and lockpick the safe and you will find the Smuggler’s end (laser pistol) and other stuff. There is no karma loss for lockpicking it.
Overseers Ammo (10mm)
When you get in the room where the overseer is interrogating Amata when you kill the overseer and the police officer search the weapon lockers and lockers there should be police armor, police helmet, and 41 bullets for the 10mm.
How To Obtain Both Ant Sting And Protectron’s Gaze
During the Super Human Gambit quest, get at least any kind of power armor (most likely Telsa armor) and the helmets (telsa helmet). Pickpocket both of them first and place the telsa armor and helmet. Then go out ant go back in and pickpocket them again to obtain both of there costumes, once you get both of there costumes, talk to both of them and give the costume to them and they will give you there weapon (results in bad karma) if you want you an kill both of them to get the costumes back. Note: be sure you have about 8-10 stealth boys (or chinese stealth suit if you have operation anchorage) or good sneak skill and save before attemping to pickpocketing both.
Easy Unique Clothing
This works best if you have 100 sneak. To get a kids unique clothing simply pickpocket them and add a suit of armor to their inventory then enter another area then leave that area go back to that child pickpocket them and get their clothing.
Overcumbered Use A MEATSACK
A meat sack is a dead body that you pick up by pressing down on the right stick while pointed at the body then search it and put stuff inside you will move slower than normal but still faster than if you were overcumbered. NOTE:you can’t take a body through a door to a new area so take every thing out and find a new body on the other side.
Double Eugene’s
To get double Eugene’s you have to do the Reilly’s Rangers quest, make sure Brick dies then loot her body and take her Eugene then complete the rest of the quest and go to the Rangers compound and when Reilly asks what you want for a reword take the Eugene. Then check you inventory and you have two Eugene’s.
Easiest Way To Kill Characters Without Losing Karma
To kill a character without losing karma, all you need is a follower (preferably Fawkes the friendly supermutant because he is nearly invincible). Just shoot the character one time with a weapon that will NOT kill them in one shot. The character will turn on you and attack. Then find a place that is safe and let your follower finish them off. You never lose karma, but you do put your follower in danger of being killed. (doesn’t happen often).
Two More Bobble Heads
Perception- Is in the republic of daves the republic of dave museum on the book shelf.
Big Gun- is in the basement of the cottage next to fort constitine (the fort at the top of the world map) when in the basement there is a door to the fort bunker to the left is a safe and insde the safe is the bobble head.
Three More Bobble Heads
Charisma – Is in Paradise Falls in eulegy’s pad over on the table next to the computer.

Acheive Kills Without Losing Karma
Wedge a barrel between you and the person you want to kill and then just walk forward. Repeat as needed. Sometimes it takes more than one time to do.
Tranquility Lane; Abandoned House
In Vault 112 you go in the “Tranquility Lounger” and into Tranquility Lane. You have to activate the Fail Safe by entering the Abandoned House and activating the items in a special order. The order is; Radio, Pitcher, Gnome, Pitcher, Block, Gnome, and the Cola bottle.
Click on the items in this order and a computer will appear. Activate the Fail Safe and go back to the playground and talk to Betty. Exit and you will find Dad.
Unlimited Caps For Bad Karma
Travel to the town of Arefu. Near there is aroaming trader named Crow. Kill Crow and take hiskey. Then Head to Canterbury Commons. Go into themayors house, up the stairs and second door on theright. This room should contain all of thedifferent traders supplies. Find and open CrowsLocker. Inside there should apparel and a pencil. The Pencil weighs nothing and has a value of 1which means an unlimited number can be held. Takethe Pencil out and close the locker. Now open thelocker and again and inside should be anotherpencil. There will always be a pencil inside nomatter how many you take. Keep doing this untilyou get the amount of pencils you want. Now sellthe pencils to any merchant for caps. Repeat theprocess to get unlimited Caps. (NOTE: EACH TIME APENCIL IS TAKEN, YOU LOSE KARMA).
Find The Alein Crash Sight
When you find minefield, head up the hill behind it (try not to use Arkansas if you want a good person you’ll need him for the “Just Buissness” Quest).Up the hill you will find a power station. You can go into the power sub-station, but don’t go into the bigger building – there are so many feral ghouls that its hard to fight them all so get the ghoul mask then go in. But on the world map, if you zoom in enough you will see grid lines. There should be and intersection of lines above the station its not the first intersection but the one after it is where the crash is along with 110-120 shots for the alien blaster which is also at the site.
Locations Of Five Bobble Heads
Strength – It is in the sheriff of megatons house on his desk. Endurance – Is in the DeathClaw sanctuary use the (easier Deathclaw kill hint) to get to it. Repair – In arafu the dude who shoots at you when you first get there it is in his house on his desk. Medical – Right before you take the goat your father is examining you when you are done talking to him look on his desk and there it is. Charisma – Is in Vault 108. It only has 2 areas so it isn’t hard to find. Unload all your stuff before you go down there. There’s a lot of armor and weapon parts. But look out for the clones I recommended using a combat shotgun because they only have lead pipes and knives.
Easy Death Claws Kills
First you need the dart gun V2 or higher. When you spot one or the more likely one hits you from behind do the following: 1. Shoot it once with the dart gun wherever you have the highest chance of hitting it. 2. If you have one, pull out a combat shot gun and let it get as close as you feel comfortable. (Let it get pretty close because it can no longer charge at you (the dart gun will kill it’s legs). Then aim for the head. You should be able to get in 3 shots in vats if it’s not dead from that. Then it should only take one more shot, which you can do normally.
Use Auto-Save
One of the nicest things about this cool game is the auto-save function. But what I really like is the ability to pause then save and load at anytime in the game. For example, right before you use up your last bobby pin to open a “very hard” safe save (if it breaks just reload before you used it) This function saves you from possible gameplay disasters. Just remember to ck which save you are reloading so you don’t lose good stuff.
Get Fawlke The Friendly Super Mutant To Follow You
While in vault 87 you will come to a room and hear something that sounds like a Super mutant talk to you. That will be Fawkle. He is in a medical cell to the left of the door. Use the intercom to the right of his cells window to talk to him. He will ask you to let him out – be as nice as you can be in your responses and use all the intellect options you see. He will tell you that he knows where the G.E.C.K. is and that he will get it out of the room full of radiation for you if you let him out. Ask how to let him out and he will tell you that there is a fire alarm down the hall (To the right of the window) in a maintenance closet. Go to the room but don’t press the alarm if you can hack average computers there is one behind the alarm that opens individual doors to the cells. Hack it and open all but room #2 and #1 (these have bad guys in them – a guy named Sid in 1 and a centipede in room 2) All the others have ammo and a pearl in them and maybe some food. Now go back to Fawlke and talk he will then lead you to the room filled with radiation he will tell you to stay here and be on guard for more super mutants. He will then go get the G.E.C.K. and bring it to you. He won’t follow you just yet. ask him to come anyway when he says no. Leave before you get out you should get ambushed by the enclave (there is nothing you can do about this because it’s a cut seen). You will wake up to being questioned by the enclave. The president will let you go to come and see him but as soon as you step outside the door a guard alerts every one close that you got out you have to fight your way to the president. About half of the way there the president says to stand down and let you pass then a couple seconds latter the guy who was questioning you says to ignore the president is orders use the time between the 2 to make some distance without resistance. When you get to the president, accept the virus so that he will help you get out using robots and turrets placed on the way to the exit. When you get out side you should see Fawlke with a Gatling laser mowing down some enclave. Talk to him ask about his new toy and then ask what he is doing here then ask him to come with you this time he should accept if you did it right. Now you can talk to him and have him carry items that make you over weight and change his fighting style and how close he follows you. You can also fire him but after all that hard work do you really want to!
Return To Vault 101
After you have been playing for a while go to megaton and look for radio signals. If the time is right there should be a vault 101 distress signal. listen to it and you will get a message from Amata through it she will ask you to come back because her father is mad with power. (she changed the vault password to her name) Go there and the first person you meet should be a guard. Don’t cause trouble just be nice and then ask if he can take you to Amata. He will and you get about half way there when he tells you to stay back some old guy will fire at butch then butch will run away ask the guard to take you to Amata again and follow him. He will lead you pretty far then, stop and tell you he can go no farther or he will get attacked go up the stairs and Butch will run at you – don’t shoot him. He will stop and ask you to take him away. Tell him that your here to help the vault. Then talk to Amata she’ll ask you to talk to her dad. Tell her that violence isn’t your thing at the end. Next, go to the overseers office talk to him be polite and use the speech command when ever it pops up. If your speech is high enough he will see the error of his ways and go find Amata and make her overseer she will then ask you to leave until she sorts things out in the vault because there are still people who blame you for what happened. Say you understand and leave. You should get good Karma for it.
Unlimited XP
You can gain infinite XP if your speech skill is high enough. (At least about 30).Go to “Big Town”, located north of Vault 101. If you speak with a girl namedBittercup she should tell you about her dating exploits. After speaking with her,go into the house marked “Common House” and speak to a man named Pappy. Thereshould be a speech skill dialogue option that says “You came here with Bittercup, right?” You will get XP every time you click it. Continue to do this and you canrack up XP in mere seconds.
Unlocking Computers
If you’re hacking a computer and you only have one more chance left exit out by pressing the B button this resets the computer so you get another chance. You can do this as many times as needed.
Survive A Long Fall
If you’re falling from a bridge, or some other high area, just save your game just before you hit the ground and re-load the game from there.
Charon’s Contract
To get charon as your teammate, go to the underworld, and talk to the owner of the ninth circle. Ask him about the dude in the corner and he will say that’s his employee, and ask him about giving you his contract. He’ll tell you 1000 or 2000 caps, or just do a mission, and then he gives you his contract.
Friendly Ferals
To get Feral Ghouls to become friendly and even help you should you fight a creature or another you made hostile, help the ‘friendly’ ghouls in the mission ‘Tenpenny Tower’ and Roy Philips will give a mask that will, while worn, calms Ferals. Note: To get the mask, you MUST gain good Karma, so if you are making an evil person, try to gain a lot of evil before or make it up somehow, also, you should just kill Tenpenny beforehand on his balcony to get his suit, caps, and Sniper Rifle, which will not get you attacked because it was not in the building HOPEFULLY and you need a key for another quest.
A1-23’s Plasma Rifle
To get this special variation of the plasma rifle, do the quest “The Replicated Man” and convince Harkness to go to Zimmer. As a reward he will give you his rifle. It does 52 Damage at full condition and 100 weapons skill.
Finding Dogmeat
Dogmeat is found in Scrapyard. On the world map, Scrapyard is in the top right corner of the square that is two squares directly below Minefield. Follow the clear triangle on your compass if you are having problems finding it. Go into Scrapyard and look/listen for fighting. Your will find Dogmeat fighting a Raider. Once the Raider is dead you can talk to Dogmeat and ask him to join you.
The Replicated Man Quest: Get Both Rewards
When you discover the identification of the android and are deciding to turn him in or warn him, go to the android first. Convince him to go to Zimmer on his own and he will reward you. After that, go to Zimmer in the science lab. Tell him about the android’s identity. He will also reward you. Note: You will still get bad karma

Glitches
Unlimited Smg Ultra Glitch
In order to to do this glitch you have to meet with Sydney and help her get the decloration of independence. Once you do make sure she gets out alive and back to abraham, in rivit city. After that she will be in underworld in the ninth circle bar. NOTE: to get sydneys gun you have to have a holo tape explaining why she was abandoned and what hapened to her father. If you have the tape go speak to sydney and talk about her past then talk about her father. A speak choice appears that says you have a holo tape from her father. She recognizes the voice and give you her ultra smg with ammo. You can repeat as much as your little heart desires. Enjoy :).
Elder Lyons Glitch
This is for the first fallout 3, I don’t know if it works for the expansion packs, but you have to start the ‘Take it Back’ end quest, then when Elder Lyons is on the railing next to the big holder thing that held the robot, shoot him in the head and make sure he falls off the railing. (the other people shouldn’t shoot at you, they only attack you if you attack them) it will say he’s unconscious, and jump down after him, when he wakes up he will glitch out and shoot back up to the railing, it’s funny to do over and over again. :).
