2023 recap + 2024 plans
i wrote 261,200 words in 2023; 172,500 of those for Whispers, 88,700 for Goddess-Touched!
i read 16 books to completion, beta'd for an additional 2, am currently reading 3, and got partway through 5 others before having to put them down.
i maintained my streaming schedule with only a handful of emergency-related exceptions, and drew, uh, a shit ton over the course of the year!
writing goals for 2024:
fix Echoseers (full stylistic rewrite, along with some plot tweaks)
finish the first draft of Goddess-Touched (and edit it hardcore as well)
work on as-yet-unnamed book 4 of tms
fix up Whispers with the added feedback of beta readers
start querying Whispers (i'll look into self publishing down the road if i don't end up finding an agent. the way my brain functions i must cling to the hope of not having to market it myself tooth and nail for the time being)
POTENTIALLY. if my brain fixates on it. write the script for The Lost so that i actually have something to work with to make the comic happen
one of my offline friends is starting to get into writing, and im hoping to help them through some of the early rough patches and potentially co-write a thing with them!!
i completely dropped the ball on the weekly writing updates so im gonna try and get back to that on wednesday. and potentially get back into the weekly ask games!
non-writing goals for 2024:
youtube. i want to make speedpaints and worldbuilding videos and shit. ive already made the basic animation stuff to have a lil sona to do the gesturing for me and i know how to make videos i just havent done it in a While
twitch!! i want to stream a bit more often because its fun and if i let myself branch out into video games as well as art itll be easier to do that. u might see me streaming in the evenings sometime soon. (psst im not streaming this weekend as im still doing a shit ton of holiday/social stuff but the weekend of the 13th ill be back to both patreon and twitch baybee)
SPEAKING OF i want to get my shit together enough to do like. monthly short story releases for my patrons/ko-fi members. early access, that is, so if i post one in january, it'll be posted here a month or two later for all to see/read
i want to read as many books as i did in 2023, if not more! im also considering adding book reviews/thoughts to youtube or patreon/ko-fi perks
my weekend hiatuses aren't going anywhere. having time where im not actively engaging with tumblr + don't feel obligated to do Anything online has done wonders for my mental health and i highly recommend it. focus mode on my phone and leechblock on desktop has helped so so so much
and that's all i'm sharing here!! i hope 2024 is a better year for all than the last <3

How long do you usually take to plan for a really long story/comic? Do you do a rough plan or a fully detailed one? Any apps you use for planning?
Thank you in advance!
It depends on the project. For my long-term series, it definitely takes me a good while to finalize everything from start to finish, but as a general rule, I try to keep my writing one step ahead of where I'm drawing, for two purposes: so I can have a goal in mind to propel the comic forward (I don't want to be writing or drawing on the fly more than I have to), and so I can have enough planned ahead for editing, because by the time I get to the thing I've planned, my writing has likely grown more and my perspective on it has shifted, so I'm not releasing "first takes", so to speak.
Usually I use LibreOffice and just sort of keep a few separate files for different purposes. I always have a "[story] shit" file of some kind where I just dump thoughts and notes that I don't wanna lose lmao but then I usually also have a file that's meant for outlining. I think Rekindled is the first comic where I haven't employed my spreadsheet method, which is when I'd use Excel/Spreadsheets to lay out panel descriptions and dialogue. So like this:
Tumblr media
(Episode 14 of Time Gate: [AFTERBIRTH])
Rekindled is more just note-taking, what I want to happen in each episode, and if there's any dialogue I come up with that I definitely want to include, I write it down in there. I've done all of Rekindled's process through Scrivener, which I learned how to use shortly before starting it. IDK yet if I like Scrivener enough to use it for my bigger projects, but it's been helpful for organization and keeping my files all in one central "hub" area.
Tumblr media
So right now I have up to about Episode 70 drafted out like that ^^^ but things do change during the actual production of the episodes. Sometimes I'll write something in my notes that doesn't flow well in actual comic form. Sometimes I'll write dialogue during the sketching stage that I don't like anymore by the time I get to the final rendering. It's all a stage-by-stage process from drafting to final release.
The question of "how long" really just comes down to the note-taking process. I tend to work in bursts, the last time I did any written episode layouts was a few weeks ago and that was because I got like, 40+ episodes done in a day LOL So I'm all set for the next little bit, but I'll have to get back to planning by Episode 50 if I haven't done any before then. I'd like to have the entirety of Rekindled plotted out by the end of the year so I can get a more exact answer of how long Rekindled will be :' )
When it comes to software/apps, keep it simple, use what you know. I've been using standard word editors and spreadsheets for years now because it works for me. Scrivener's been fun to learn but as I mentioned, IDK if I'm gonna be able to stick with it for bigger projects like Time Gate because it feels like I'm wearing different shoes that I'm not used to lol But that's just me, feeling "at home" with my software is just an important thing to me, for others it might not matter so much. Scrivener definitely has the most features for drafting/writing/editing, but it's also not very beginner-friendly and there's a huge learning curve to really understanding how the software is designed and what it fully offers.
There's also Plottr which I've been using for [AFTERBIRTH], it's really helpful for people who need visual aids because it allows you to lay out story timelines through imagery. But I really only use it for laying out story beats from end to end, I don't use it much beyond that, any extensive note taking or scripting happens in actual word documents.
Tumblr media
(idk if this is how you're actually supposed to use Plottr but it's how I use it so w/e lolol)
Ultimately it's all up to you, what works for me might not work for others so don't be afraid to try things even if it ends up not working out for you. Obv that might be a bit more of a "nah" when it comes to paid software like Scrivener and Plottr, but there are loads of tutorials on Youtube that teach you how to use the software that you can hopefully use as a glimpse into how they work to see if they'd be up your alley before paying money for 'em.
Hope that helps! ˋ( ° ▽、° )

Projects List
Been meaning to write a post on this but in case anyone is curious what I'm up to, I am up to a lot.
I try to make a big list/write up of a list of projects I wanna do on a given year so with 2023 Here's my progress of what I've worked on or am working on:
1.) Art:
So the big main thing that I consider it's own thing is just whatever art project I do, a sketch etc. for this year the main pieces I did Are these two pieces:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for were most of my art is atm (I am posting stuff here and on twitter but kit's stuff I already posted on Deviant Art):
Fair warning, janky Anatomy. Still working on getting better.
2.) Videos:
So this mostly comprises my YouTube work, now I have too many uploads to post on here. So I will just post a link to my YouTube:
3.) Website:
This one is iffy at the moment, been trying to make a website for my works or just collecting all my works. I tried using Wix, I need to budget for actually buying a domain and etc but it did allow me to do like a design a base version before you publish it. Problem is it only allowed me to upload a certain amount of media and I tried to clear some things and tried to do some basic here's my portfolio thing. Unfortunately I didn't get far with it so it's on the back burner for now.
4.) Production Company:
This is more of a specific dream, I know you can like pay for some LLC or whatnot but honestly I might do that whenever I have an actual thing for it, like If I have a good enough short animated feature that I can submit for a film festival or something.
I have a couple proof of concept logos:
youtube
youtube
So We'll see what happens. Basically this isn't something that won't manifest until another project is actually finished, Like a proper project.
5.) Comics-The Buggs:
So Yeah I have a not great but serviceable webcomic (which I kinda have in a bit of a filler arc just cause I already feel sorta drained of ideas for this). Not sure How long I'll continue this, was hoping this be a good weekly webcomic thing to shill out to show I'm still making stuff.
Previously I had with a special comic strips booklet made a 14 strip comic that I posted on webtoons here:
This I posted on 2021 but was something I worked on from like 2018 to then.
6.) Essay-Godzilla and Themes:
So yeah I had some ideas for some essays I thought I would try my hand at. This one I thought would be a good introduction to my views my favourite franchise, Godzilla. Unfortunately this might have been too much of an undertaking. This was inspired by a shitpost I've always been iffy on and was an attempt to set the record straight, talking about individual movies that DO or DO NOT tackle something and the ones that do tackle a theme or message Differs from each other in drastic ways. Tho I might Can it. I dunno. Gonna do a baseline draft going through every era and see if I can produce something out of it or if I should cut my losses and move on to a different essay.
7.) Write Up-Comic Creation:
So I thought with the book I have on various how to do subjects that I would create a resource for myself but I do think I could release what I have to like pastebin or something. Kinda a weird entry in my list of projects.
8.) Books-Godzilla Unmade:
Was inspired by this book here:
Tumblr media
Wanted to do a version of this book but with Godzilla films. However I still need to research Legalities. Honestly cause I'm a nobody, this is a book project that won't get to see the light of day until maybe later if i somehow get some book publishing clout. Still I decided to do a private research document that I could string into a first draft and if by some miracle I end up meeting up with some publisher, who knows.
9.) 2D Animation-Foodchain (Cancelled):
So this is another project that's finished but it was apart of this list I'm posting, just to catch everyone here up.
youtube
Basically an attempt at traditional animation I wanted to do before moving on to digital 2D animation. Some issues with the scanning process happened so I had to do things a different way and I got kinda sick of this so this project will remain unfinished.
10.) Stop Motion-Transit:
I just finished a script for this but I am still currently working on a stop motion short film based on a really morbid thought I had while in a skytrain that was getting more and more crowded. Gonna be a lot of work and i don't wanna screw up what otherwise could be a neat creepy short film. Hoping to submit this to horror festivals around Canada. Right now I'm just in the process of storyboarding.
This project is also a replacement for last years Stop Motion project I did as a test short:
youtube
This is not great however, I should do more editing in this but oh well, used a ton of footage from a camera I inherited with footage of my brother learning to drive various construction vehicles so uh there's that cameo. Part of the reason was I also got sick of this project and didn't wanna get more footage be it B roll or have more stop motion segments. The actual stop motion side of things actually happens like at the end of this vid.
11.) Live Action-Dog Eater (Cancelled):
Another project I ended up scrapping mostly because my hand prop which still remains unfinished was so botched, it's practically an iron maiden in glove form and I had the dumbest idea of making my principal actors being my dogs. So I just did this little video instead:
12.) Mods-Half Life:
Another project up in the air, I might can it just cause it seems like doing half Life 2 maps might be easier or at least i don't need to download separate compilers. This too was a replacement of last couple of years project attempt (that I might return to one day) which was Doom Map making:
youtube
For Half Life 1, I toyed with an idea based off a weird dream I had about some space battle happening, and than someone entering one of the damaged ships. It's empty, creepy and there seems to be graffiti everywhere and weird supernatural things seems to be happening throughout its corridors. But again was having a hard time doing anything in Gold Source. Maybe I should give it a second chance, I really just need to download a compiler and watch a video as to where I need to put it folder wise and etc.
13.) Game Engines-????:
This is another odd one. I considered seeing if I can make a simple game engine but that might be another back burner thing especially since I don't code well so uh yeah. Alternatively This entry is just a free space for me to just for a full year grab whatever game engine I bought and downloaded off of steam and actually toy around with it. Not much else to say. Right Now I'm kinda sticking to GameMaker.
14.) Game-Adventure Game-Photo Point And Click Adventure Game:
So yeah kinda a weird idea, inspired by Metropolis Software (The guys who would later break off to make Painkiller and than break off again to make The vanishing of Ethan Carter) which was instead of making original sprites or whatever, construct a point and click adventure game around a bunch of photos I have. More of a test game that I can use to jump off of and do actual Adventure games with.
15.) Multiplayer Game-Fighting Game-Test Demo Fighting Game:
Thought about a stop motion inspired fighting game (which very much is not an original idea, there's a few of those around). Was gonna do a test demo in gamemaker with stick figures before moving on to a second version using toys as stop motion sprites before moving on to an actual game with original models made for it.
And yeah that's a lot of stuff I'm working on. Probably biting of more than I can chew but oh well.

Happy anniversary to me and AO3!!
Here is the aforementioned more coherent post. I have divided it in two parts: a little note and a silly and self-indulgent section (affectionate) where I give some of my fics fun lil superlatives. I'll add a couple little factoids to the latter section, too, just for giggles.
But before all that: I'm not gonna get emotional this time, but I have greatly enjoyed writing Dragon Age fic. I told myself three things when I started, all of them comically incorrect now ("I'm only writing this one story," "I will never write a soulmate AU," and "I will never write a DA2 story; no way could I ever hold a candle to what already exists") and I am so, so glad I was wrong on all counts. I have grown so much as a writer because of fic and I have met some genuinely remarkable people. If you have ever commented, written something in the tags, kudo'd, or bookmarked anything I've written (and especially if you have ever sent me a writing prompt, bless you), from the bottom of my heart: thank you. It has been genuinely incredible to share my love of this series with y'all, and I can only hope you have felt as glad of the experience as I have.
That's really all you need to know---that I'm glad to know you, in whatever sense that means. Thanks for sticking around c:
(and thanks to Cullen for scrambling my brain so thoroughly that I am still doing this a year later when I swore it was just going to be the one story lol)
Anyways! (she says, setting up the cake and candles and kazoos even though the room is otherwise empty)---
I was thinking about what to do for this anniversary that only I am keeping track of, and I decided (because of a trip I took when I was sixteen, which I originally recounted here, but which has no bearing on any of this so I cut it) that it would be funny to give my fics their own imaginary certificates. You know, like participation trophies. For my own entertainment (only a few though; there are twenty-three of them, and that's too many awards). Awards follow:
Best Punch: Your Fate for Mine; after I finished Trespasser the first time, I really wanted to deck Solas, so I let Cullen do it for me. It's the best one because it was the most satisfying to write C: (fun fact also: bless him, my husband proofread all the smut in this fic for accuracy lmao. special side award to my husband for being the best)
Best Kiss: Wander the Drifting Roads; nothing has yet felt as satisfying to me as Emma and Cullen kissing in the rain after all that time. I think about it Often. Also I wrote the first draft of this fic in roughly a week and a half---which is why it needed so much editing later :)
Most Persistent: To the Bone; because I swear to whatever higher power is out there, I tried so hard not to write a soulmate story but Salshira would not be stopped. In the end, I couldn't let the idea go and well, here we are.
Specialest Baby: Tidal Lock; because it is my special baby and the first fic I ever completed. I have a soft spot for it, and oddly enough it has the highest kudos: bookmarks ratio of my works at over half. It was extremely fun to write Cullen as a kid (he is soooo serious) and (for me) there's such a pleasant full-circle element to the narrative.
Best Smut: More than Memory; this one is my imaginary people's choice award, since it was received far and away the best of any smut I've written. I think, and it's just my intuition here, that it's on account of all the yearning. But maybe it's actually cus Cullen is, as always, a hot, hot mess C:
Hyperfocus Award: This one's a tie between Misericordia and Saccharine. As soon as I knew what to write for both of them, I achieved that beautiful state of not noticing the passage of time, anyone around me, the existence of my physical body, nor any of my pressing irl tasks. I wrote both of these in a delightful fog and then came back to it later as if seeing it for the first time. Extremely nice experience, 10/10, would recommend.
Blue Ribbon, Gold Star: A Golden Bell Hung In My Heart; this one gets a special extra award because I think it's probably the best thing I've written so far (at least from a technical standpoint, but it has a lot of my favorite elements, as well). It's one of the few for which I knew what I was trying to write when I set out to write it, and I think I achieved it unequivocally. Also, you know. Presents :)
Tumblr Ficlet Award: lol I am not picking only one. Here're my top three ficlets, based on how pleased with myself I felt when I initially typed them out: Lock and Key (I loooooove a good hurt/comfort), A Fool and His Gold (love yearning, too), and A Bond Beheld (because it includes that knight/liege thing that makes the Cullen romance so!!!).
For posterity: Unless I finish this short fenris/hawke piece open in the other tab, my final word count last year is 516,937 which is....a shocking amount. I probably won't surpass that this year, which is fine. I had no idea I had at least 450,000 words to say about Cullen, but hey, here we are.
That's it for this year---and I have no idea if I'll do this again next year---but thanks if you've read this far! I really wanted an excuse to think back on what I've written this year and have a little laugh to myself :) Have a good Thursday and...yeah. Thanks for reading!

enchant’s writing update: september 21, 2022
phewww, i’ve went back to uni, so i’ve been having some irl workload. however, i still managed to write. mostly on fanfics bc it’s a bit easier for them rn.
for original writing, i’ve written some flash fiction friday drabbles. i’ve been spinning oc blorbo thoughts over my head. developing the leads in lines of a script to ignore. i’ll be honest, nothing much is happening in this department.
for fanfic, i’ve been re-writing a fantasy AU. decided to revamp it and make it less choppy. added a bit more pizazz and snazzy stuff. for new wips not involving re-writing, i managed to finish the first drafts of two legends of tomorrow season 1 re-write AU ‘episodes’. it’s been fun bc i get to change things. and i’m gonna remove 85% of what happened in the actual season itself. there are some good moments but for the most part? it lacked some 'oomph' and the plot line just screwed over a certain amount of characters (kendra, leonard, mick, miranda coburn, and. . . and so many, tbh.). i'm excited to add elements from the comics into this AU. so, i’m gonna be slow by writing three episodes each month, i guess. and also some samtember 2022 prompts just cuz i can.
this has been refreshing, so i look forward to dealing with original stories, somehow. 🌸🌻🌸🌻

February 2024 Book Log
(bold means new this month)
Bosnia: A Short History by Noel Malcolm
The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness Book 5: Oath Breaker by Michelle Paver (reread, FINISHED!!!!)
Crowded Volume 1: Soft Apocalypse by Sebela et al. (finished)
Dactyl Hill Squad by Daniel José Older
Dinosaur Summer by Greg Bear
Kindred: Neanderthal Life, Love, Death, and Art by Rebecca Wragg Sykes (unfinished - due at library)
Mossflower by Brian Jacques (reread, finished)
Orochi Volume 2 by Kazou Umezz
Pride Wars 2: The Four Guardians by Matt Laney (finished)
Guess who finally finished tCoAD book 5 lmaooooooooo okay jumping ship to Pride Wars 2 what the fuck was that ending. No spoilers but. Hello?????? Felt like I was being repeatedly tossed into the air by a gorilla until I landed face-first on solid rock. I'm anticipating this to be a finite series (four books, probably), so I'm gonna save my full review until after I finish the whole thing. I just need you to know I'm not happy with like...the whole last quarter of book 2, maybe more.
Once again defeated by due date. RIP Kindred I'll check you out again soon. In the meantime I'm reading a much slimmer volume on the history of Bosnia - 99% sure this is the text Sacco was referencing when he made Goražde.
Crowded was loads of fun. I spent like an entire Sunday reading it. Orochi is my friend's book...I have a lot of books of his I need to finish (I've been "borrowing" them for about two years now smh smh smh smh smh.) I typically have a hard time following the action and dialogue in manga, but Orochi is much easier for me, and a nice change of pace overall from most of the stories I read, comic or otherwise.
Dactyl Hill Squad has been in my inventory for nearly two months, and is on the very last leg of its library loan period. I grabbed it on impulse because it had dinosaurs. (You know me.) It's young YA, like Pride Wars, so it's got the typical young-YA quirks, but I'm really enjoying the core of the story: orphans of color navigate the aftermath of the Draft Riots in New York City during the American Civil War, in a universe where humans live alongside dinosaurs.
It's such a refreshing perspective that I'm even willing to forgive it for being set in NYC lol. This is, dinosaurs aside, a very different NYC - none of the hyperactive bustle and conceit of modern NYC that inevitably poisons the blood of any book or movie set there. This is old NYC...mid-19th century old...and I dig it.
I also love what Older does with his dinos: a healthy mix of traditional and modern interpretations, creating something unique and engaging. My only issue with the story so far is that we're not given good descriptions for about half the characters. Lots of names get thrown around in the beginning with little to no associated images, descriptors, or voices, so I'm having a hard time keeping track of the cast. Other than that, an exciting story! Glad it caught my eye on the bookshelf :)

Doodle New Year Resolutions!
Gonna put my 2024 Resolutions out there just for fun and also then I can look at the list at the end of this year and see how much I got done from it! I got quite a few I wanna do that go from Easy/Most Achievable, to Medium/Will Take Some Work, to Hard/Less Likely to Achieve and then a fourth one that is Extreme/Definitely Not Likely.
Easy
Finish Book One of my FSS comic (I'm very close to doing that, just need to get re-motivated)
Create a draft/script of FSS Book Two (this is more a bonus)
Brush my teeth twice a day (I've always had trouble with that, but I've been really good about it this last week so I think I can still achieve it!)
Exercise at least once a week (I recently got a cool binder made for swimming so I can finally go back to the pool! ^w^)
Read at least one book a month (I wanna read more books)
Be more consistent with taking meds (that includes my T, I've been really bad about being on top of that... ^^' )
Medium
Make a complete draft of my book (i've been working on a book for five years now and I keep making new drafts and adding more things to it but not fully writing it lol)
Make a remake of my first comic from Deviantart (I still love the concept so I'd love to remake it and share it both here and on my original Deviantart account)
Hard
Fully finish and publish my book (from my medium list)
Start working on my other books (I have like three book ideas I wanna write and publish, but I feel like I gotta at least finish one before I do another lol)
Make a comic dub of FSS (I think that would be fun to do, I'll have to see how that goes)
Publish FSS Comics as a physical comic (if I did that I think I would have to redo a lot of my earlier pages which sounds like a pain to do :p But I would love to see my comic published)
Extreme
Write and produce my own version of Disney's "Wish" (I see so much potential in that film in all their concept art and scripts. I feel like the world deserves a REAL proper homage to the 100 years of Disney and not the cash grab garbage we got...)
Anyways that's my list!! Defiantly some more easy to achieve than others, and even if I don't achieve them in this year then I'll take them into the next year. But I defiantly can't wait to see how I do at the end of the year~!

The Future of Omega Timeline: Poppy's Story
I am writing this way in advance, I have finished animating all of the main cutscenes, and I'm mainly working on the music for the "Act 1 Finale", as I write. I wanted to write this to talk about the fact I even got to this point at all, and what comes next for this project.
For starters, like most usually say when they reach a milestone such as this, I never thought this project would reach this many people.
I started this project with the mindset that no one was gonna really pay attention to it. The concept has always been pretty niche, so I was mostly doing it for myself. ... And yet, two years later, the blog is nearing 900 followers.
I'd like to thank everyone that has stuck by these two years, seen the asks, read the story, done fanart for the AU...
... Of course, let's not forget to thank all of my lovely friends and team members (Dihze, Lolika, Doku, Cap'n Toad, Tyrone, AJ, Cerulean, SKL, Mrky) that helped me throughout this whole thing. This would have never been possible without them.
... I cannot stress this enough, really.
Half of the fun of working on Poppy, for me, is always the back and forth between me and my friends. Talking about hypothetical plot points, how characters would answer asks, how they'd feel about other characters, or the OT should look or sound— that is and will always be what brings me the most joy about working on a project like this.
Not to mention all the friends that I've made through working on Poppy. Jakei, Yugo, poody_blue, Cerulean, blaize.mayes, and so many more I can name off the top of my head that have influenced Poppy to become much bigger than I originally intended.
Even though I will be the first to say that this AU is not perfect, and really, it never will.... It has reached so many people and inspired others, even brought more attention to the Omega Timeline itself, that I am honestly glad it exists as it is.
Originally, I was planning to do just like, 5 sprite comics and end it in less than a year. But now I've made 3 sprite based animations, totaling around 20 minutes, and many comic pages, a 30 long original soundtrack, and the blog has almost reached 900 followers.
It's hard to believe I did all of that, even if I had a lot of help along the way.
Regardless of how reception turns out (I'm still quite unsure on how people are going to feel about it...), it's honestly a huge thing for someone like me to have reached this point.
If you don't know my history with the Undertale community, I don't tend to finish or see through most of my projects.
But now that I've finished this video, I feel I am confident enough with saying that I am going to see this project through, one way or another.
Regardless, I figure people are going to have questions After the finale is out. I've lined up some of the ones I can think off the top of my head:
"Is the blog over?"
No, not yet, obviously. It's why it's called the "Act 1 Finale". There will be more in the future.
"How many acts will there be?"
3. What the other two are like, I cannot tell you, but we have a promising outline.
"What will happen to Poppy and the rest?"
All in due time. Did you read the ask above?
"What about Poppy Buys Milk?"
Like I've said before, the game is going to happen. It canonically takes place before the events of act 1 finale, specifically before "Happy Birthday, Mon" (Present), so most of the characters are unaware of what befalls them later.
"Are there plans to redo the act 1 things?"
Only the Dusted and Poppy spar. That is genuinely the only comic I'd like to remake in some fashion. It's bad and dumb.
As for more scenarios that ocurr during Act 1's time, though, I have no comments yet.
"When will character asks return?"
Once Act 2 starts. But that will take a bit to get it out.
To make up for it, though, I will likely be posting scrapped concepts, concept art, unused or old music, and story drafts, so I hope that'll hold everyone over until we can start.
... That's all for now. Again, huge thanks to everyone for sticking around and checking this little blog. If anyone has any Omega Timeline and otherwise out of character questions, you can send them here. (I've cleared out the ask box, so I'll be able to catch them more easily).

Hi! I'm the girl who recommended "All I've Ever Known" from Hadestown from your most recent chapter, which, by the way, completely blew me away.
I wish I could send some of my own TimSteph thoughts/writing towards you, though I haven't done much. You are an excellent writer and I love your interpretations of both characters. They're so perfect together.
1. Do you have any fanfics concerning them coming after this one?
2. You have no idea how much it kills me that I have to wait 7 days to read another chapter. This fic should be CANON and no, I'm not joking.
3. Also, I recommend listening to Mr. Blue. It reminded me of Chapter 9 (was it?) when Steph said she was worried about Tim's mental health.
4. You said in Chapter 11 that you had a soft spot for Steph playing piano (that happened) and there would be more of "fun" Tim. Is it coming soon?
5. Have you seen Marcus To's art of TimSteph? They're so cute.
Again, so sorry for the long questions/responses. I just love TimSteph, which is weird, considering I'm not THAT big of a shipper and I'm more of a book fan than a comic book fan. I actually preferred DickKory when I got into the Batfam comics, and I still have them ranked high, but over time, these two grew on me. It was like, "Ooh, these guys are great BFFs! They can't get any better--"
Then I realized that they were dating, and the more and more I thought about it, THE MORE AND MORE IT MADE SENSE. I COULD WRITE A 10-PAGED PAPER ON WHY THEY WORK SOOOO WELL.
But IncoherentBabblings beat me to it with her incredible post on "Why TimSteph is Nice," and it's one of my favorite posts ever.
Hey hey!! Sorry, busy couple days at work!
I am so happy that you've been enjoying the fic!! I listened to the song and it's so so sweet!! I totally get the TimSteph vibes from it, where it's just the two of them clinging to each other in the face of everything else.
If you ever post anything lmk! I'm always happy to see more TimSteph content! You are too kind about my writing! I am just happy that I'm finishing my first multichapter fic like this. Never finished a big project before, honestly never thought it would happen.
1. I have a whole to-do list of little projects, god knows when anyone will see those. I'm drafting little things now that I'm winding down from FMWBTY. I am gonna be doing a collab project with @incoherentbabblings but we are just in the planning stages so far.
As far as with this fic, I would love to do a sequel to write the relationship more on this timeline, but we'll see! There's a lot more I'd like to cover, idk if it would be as long of a project. I do want to utilize Cass and Damian though, I want to bring them in since Cass is such an important person to Steph, and I'd love to see some forced bonding hilarity between Tim and Damian with Tim playing nice out of respect for Steph lol
2. lololol yeah I though a week would be a good amount of time in between chapters. It's better than waiting for me to write the chapters, I promise. I made my first draft of this thing in 2019!
3. I will listen to that too! It's on the list!
4. I use "fun" in an odd way. I'm trying to have Tim relax around Steph and act like himself again. He's kinda been battered by a lot of shit over the years, so he's kinda receded in on himself. I will drag him out a bit, but that's where a sequel would also be fun. Let him be a jokey, lovey dovey boyfriend for Steph.
5. Love Marcus! Hope to be able to commission a TimSteph piece from him someday. I do wish that she was drawn with more wavy, kind of untamed hair, since I just like the idea that Steph has this super thick hair. But his art is literally always stunning, such clean line work and I like that he doesn't draw the men too bulky, and that the women aren't oversexualized.
Long questions are fine! I think a lot of us started with DickKory in the form of RobStar in the Teen Titans TV show, that was definitely one of my first major ships, and it was a painfully wonderful slowburn. Wonder where I latched onto that trope? 🤣🤣🤣
Idk when I hopped onto TimSteph. I think I just latched on after I started reading Tim because their dynamic was so fun and sweet. And then fandom, cuz when I joined there weren't so many antis and Steph haters. Truly sad to see now.
Thank you thank you THANK YOU for all your support!! I definitely plan to keep writing TimSteph while I still have ideas! ❤💜

Woop-de-doo, it's Lord Scarlet stuff part 2
This was a post I planned on making WAY sooner, but I accidentally lost the original draft so I didn't even bother to try doing it gain until recently. And just now something happened that changed everything; and I mean what both DID and DIDN'T automatically give me the right to post this. I almost deleted my first post at that, and here's why:
In the first post, I mentioned that when I initially found out Vic was lying to me, I was quiet about it and just stopped talking to her out of fear, and then when I asked for help on what to do I was told to leave without a word. I don't think that was entirely the right thing to do in the long run, because it may have been the easiest way out but I'm better off with proper closure.
And the thoughts she left me scarred with never left my head. Time and time again, I'd find myself crying myself to sleep again at the thought of Brock forced to hide romantic feelings for Master Frown and not know who he was anymore while Frown was left unaware and in love with someone else, even if it wasn't Lord Scarlet.
And the pain sometimes came with a want to confront Vic one last time and open up to her about how I wasn't blind anymore, and how much she really hurt me. But I, again, wass scared she wouldn't care and would cut me off.
So when the pain got worse, I did what any coward would do: tell everyone else about my pain.
Now I DID tell friends of mine other than the Unikitty Amino staff about what happened, and they were all sympathetic and understanding about it. But then I told almost everyone, and then made my vent post on here (as well as Wattpad). As much as I wouldn't want to call them call out posts, they might as well have been. I didn't want people to harass Vic and make her mad...but at the same time I kinda did. I was too scared to face her that I was hoping that someone would do it for me. I even tagged accounts of Vic's. Not cool of me at all.
Now the Tumblr and Wattpad posts got me pretty much more of the same: sympathy, and acceptance that I had moved on. No one came after Vic but we could still agree that none of her actions were justified (I even got @careeningle's attention...sorry about the aneurysm)
Now comes the next important thing that happened, because I mentioned @friffinx kinda being responsible for me getting back to the Lord Scarlet Amino to write the message that I did. In it, I said that after I sent the message I did I would leave the Amino again & for good.
Well...I lied. I still checked in every day for the same reason I started venting: I kinda wanted Vic to see my message. Even if she'd ban me, I wanted to see if she'd ever notice my message. And that would've been the end of it if it wasn't for Brook.
I briefly mentioned Brook in the last post. She was another OC of Vic's, and was exactly to Brock what Lord Scarlet was to Master Frown; a carbon copy love interest. Except Lord Scarlet was far more developed and drawn & written about more. Brook didn't even really have a distinct personality, she was a girl Brock and that was it. But with reptilian overlord eyes. (To be fair, Vic drew Brock like that sometimes too)
(I didn't include Vic's art unless it was in chat bgs or whatever in the last post, but for the sake of referencing/proving a point, this is what Brook looks like)
Tumblr media
No one really paid attention to her for the longest time. She was there in the fanfics because according to Vic, "Scarlet needed a friend." And like I said in the first post, Brook wasn't said to be canon so I never found a reason to really care for her. Plus I can only recall someone giving Vic fanart with her, and it was with Scarlet (@plastic-papercuts made it, go follow her she's gr8).
But then one day, for some reason, something in me clicked. I actually thought of a story idea for her. Somehow this bland cutout of a character had potential in my eyes, and I weirdly started liking her because of it. She suddenly felt...more real. I got pretty invested in my idea and newfound interpretation of Brook, and describing it would make this post way longer than it is so if anyone asks about it, I'll probably make a whole other post about it.
Anyway, I came up with a little plan: draw out this idea in the form of a comic and post it to the Lord Scarlet Amino. And see if Vic gets suspicious and checks out my profile and then maybe bans me. It felt a bit better than total silence and she'd probably see that someone gave a crap about Brook after all.
So I started a new chat called "It's Brook" to share my progress with the other members of the Amino, which there weren't too many of but we had fun in it. It was basically me, @friffinx , @soapycocacola, @plastic-papercuts, and a few others who aren't on Tumblr (or at least don't think are) chatting about how awful Vic was and calling out her lazy art tactics like tracing and using assets/clips right from the show. And of course me sharing the comic progress I was making. Again, this doesn't make anything we did right but it felt good getting everything off our chests. We were like a secret rebellion against an absentee dictator. One time Vic came online as we were chatting and even viewed my profile, but nothing happened. And it stayed that way until I opened Amino up one morning. For those of you who don't have it, the menu shows all the communities you're in when you open the app, and all of mine were there except for the Lord Scarlet Amino. I assumed I must've been banned overnight. But I wasn't banned from Vic's other Amino so I commented on her wall on that one. For Vic's sake, I won't show how the conversation went (and I'll explain why at the end) but here's how it went:
Me: Did you ban me from the LS Amino?
Her: There was drama in one of the chat rooms and I'm not having it. I didn't want to do it and it's not a big deal It's just an amino and you're still on this one AM I RIGHT?
Me: Yes, but I assume you read my updated bio. As I hoped you would.
Her: Nope.
Me: Oh. But you know what? Ban me from here too for all I care, I feel like you deserve to know why I left and came back: *insert me finally telling her how I know she lied, that she hurt me, and what I did was wrong here*
Her: Lol ok be that person but keep in mind that I'm one of those people that doesn't gibe a fuck lol
And then she banned me from that Amino too before I could type and submit a fitting farewell reply.
At least I finally got all the built-up emotional pain out of me, but it did help me realize something important: we never really were friends. I wanted more of her content despite all her red flags as a person so I tried enduring them, thinking it'd be worth it, and she only kinda cared about me when I was being a yes man. She never kept any promises and didn't respect me the same way I did her. So I could at least feel confident knowing she most likely didn't care at all when I first left.
@friffinx and the others didn't get banned, though, and Friff even started another chat on the LS Amino called "It's Brook 2" where they talked more about Vic being a terrible person. And it didn't take long for her to shut that chat down too and ban everyone from it that time. Friff sent me screenshots of what happened next (which again, I'm not gonna show), where Vic basically had a meltdown. She changed her username to "Little Miss Guillotine", and made a post about her being "finished with the bushit". In it, she announced that she didn't even like Unikitty! anymore but was still gonna keep/use Lord Scarlet because she wanted to. The part that made my blood almost boil wasn't her views on the show, she's free to have her opinion and I couldn't care less about it. What DID was that she acknowledged that she lied the whole time because "she didn't care anymore" and said that it was "our faults for believing it in the first place" and that "we needed to grow up"/"stop brining it up"
Ooooh boy, victim blaming, my favortie...
Since then she changed the Lord Scarlet Amino's theme to make it about The Penguins of Madagacar (again, fine with me). Either way she was still a narcissist and I thought she'd, sadly, likely never change. And my friends and I all thought that was the end of it.
Until a few hours ago...
I was browsing the Unikitty Amino and saw a new member named BlueCat. Didn't think anything else of it until the user PMed me. And this is what happened:
Tumblr media
I didn't know what to think other than "I thought this day would never come", I was that shaken. This was so left field-ish that what else could I do but believe her? It didn't even seem suspicious or like she was trying to be a suck up, that wasn't Vic at all.
But the one thing I knew I had to do was ban her because even if she meant well and did it for the right(?) reasons, but I still asked if I should in the staff chat. @girly-glorious (also amazing so pls check her out :D) told me that yes, it was ban evasion so since I'm a leader too now I could to it on my own. But I knew I had to message Vic first and Girly told me to be careful, so this is what I sent:
Tumblr media
And then I banned her, the end (not really)
Now I don't understand how or why this sudden behavior change happened but I don't know if I should question it in case it's personal. But again, I at least want to believe that she's really being genuine and had a change of heart because never in a million years could I imagine her being this mature. Again, she didn't demand that I forgive me or probably even expect me to. But the message still does leave me feeling sorry for her.
Now I thought that was the real end of it until I see the Penguins of Madagascar/old Lord Scarlet Amino on my sideboard.
She unbanned me.
Tumblr media
Now I don't know where we'll go from here, if anywhere. I'm not too sure if I can really let my guard down around someone who hurt me so badly just in case she does it again. So I may not talk to her again, but if she really asks something from me, I might try and build up courage to ask her more about how she came to apologizing to me. Plus she followed me on Wattpad too.
But this is why I didn't show our conversation right before my ban or her "f.u." posts. Because I don't want people seeing more of Vic's past behavior and possibly embarrassing her about it if she ever sees this. But that's kinda why I felt like it was 100% necessary to finally make a sequel post in the end; I'm hoping people at least acknowledge Vic has changed and don't keep thinking about based on what I shared out of attempts to gain sympathy like a crybaby.
So before I go: PLEASE, DON'T GO AFTER OR HARASS VIC. I KNOW YOU PROBABLY WON'T, BUT THIS IS SERIOUS. ALL THE PROBLEMATIC LORD SCARLET DRAMA IS STUFF OF THE PAST AND NEITHER OF US WANT TO KEEP LOOKING BACK ON IT.
I hope this helps whoever's reading as much as it did me.

i'm curious! do you have like, a 'dream story' that you'd like to tell one day? something you want to work towards so you can get it just right? for example, i'm working towards making my art better so i can make a webcomic i've been thinking abt since early 2019! do you have anything like that :o?
aaaaa i do, actually!! i havent talked about it in a while tbh, but its been in the making since 2013 when i finished the first draft of the story for nanowrimo of that year, anddddd the rewrite is still in process lol :’)
but if you have ever heard of me mention something about a story called ‘silence kills’ (or the ‘endless’ trilogy for that matter lol), thats the one! im working on it being the first book im ever going to get published, through whatever means that might be (either an official publishing house or self publishing idk), and have been obviously on-off for the past like six years
tho right now its in a point where im REALLY motivated and inspired to start a rewrite since ive been doing a whole lot of research about writing and gathering ideas and inspiration for it, and its seeing some maaaajor redesigns plot-wise especially, so hopefully soon! i know i put a lot of pressure on it as i want it to be the best i can possibly make of it, and its been years in the making now, and i adore the original story to pieces even tho its terrible to what my standards are right now lol, but im hoping that one day. One Day. especially now that im starting creative writing studies that’d be a huge motivator to try to get through with this thing finally and find the missing pieces i need to make this thing happen
plot-wise im just gonna give you a quick little rundown cause idk how to write good summaries lol but basically its a story about a man named jerrold, who sees predictive dreams about murders that are about to happen, and uses this power to help his best friend who works as a private detective to solve and prevent these cases. they get called to a small, kinda secluded mountain town to solve a case of a missing woman followed by a sudden homicide spree, anddd thats when jerrold has a dream that one of the victims of it will be his wife, and theyre being put on the clock to solve this case and save her life pretty much
i think thats about the barest of bones of it? theres a lot more to that tbh but without giving everything away and mentioning the missing pieces of the plot i still have to fill, thats it ~
thank you for letting me ramble anon, and if you (or anyone else, really!!) have any further questions feel free to ask! <3 also i hope you get to make your web comic some day, those things are super fun! i wish you all the luck with it <33

I was just curious how long it take for you answer an ask with screenshots of the comic panel. Because I'm always impressed that you chose the perfect comic panels to illustrate your point when they seem to be from different comics across different decades!
How long it takes me to answer an ask depends wildly on how much detail the question is asking for or I feel I need to go into (canon deep dives, reclists for characters who have been around since the 60s, anything where I’m like “geez is answering this gonna get me weirdly aggressive anon replies”), how busy I am with other stuff (which is why I have a whole bunch of unanswered asks right now, sorry!), and whether or not I’m also trying to write fic at the time. Replies writing brain is different from fic writing brain, is a thing that I’ve learned. (Also sometimes I’m writing really long replies and so I draft them and then. Forget they’re there. My fault.)
But when it comes to picking the comic panels themselves, that’s usually pretty easy for me. Here’s my not-so-secret weapon:
Tumblr media
This is a current screenshot of my dubiously organized Spider-Man refs folder, which currently has 8,315 images in it labeled by series name and issue number. I have a super good visual memory so I can usually recall individual scenes really easily, but when you’re talking a couple thousand issues worth of canon then almost nobody can pull specific panels from specific issues without some kind of system in place. Personally, I find saving panels helps me remember roughly where they are in a specific series, if not what specific issue they’re from exactly, which makes looking them up pretty easy for me. At first I was just saving panels I might want to post, then I was saving things that I thought might be relevant to fic I was writing/wanted to write, then when I started writing meta and getting asks about comics I started saving stuff that I thought might be useful in illustrating my points, and now I just save anything that’s of particular interest to me or that I feel I might want to reference later, for fic or meta or whatever. (As the 8000 images in that folder implies, I have a lot of Spider-Man interests.) One thing that’s interesting when you start just saving things that catch your interest is you pick up on little things, like this particular little chin-touch Peter likes to do and how it’s appeared over different runs with different artists in different decades. It’s a tiny detail but even the tiny things inform characters.
Another useful thing for me personally is that I’m a big rereader. With comics especially I usually spot different things when I’m rereading because I already know how the general story goes which frees up my attention to focus on things like specific characters’ actions within the larger story, the way their dialogue comes off, or on various themes or relationships. And you can make games out of it! Right now I’m doing a Betty Brant-centric reread where I’m hitting every 616 continuity issue of Spider-Man Betty’s been in. (You can find reading lists for character appearances at sites like the Complete Marvel Reading Order.) So I started with Betty’s first appearance in Amazing Spider-Man #4 and now I’ve made it to the late 90s. It’s been interesting because it means I’ve covered a lot of canon periods that aren’t necessarily my favorite, but the rules I’ve set up mean I have to reread them. It’s been fun -- when I finish with Betty, I’m probably going to do the same with either Harry Osborn or Felicia Hardy. (I kind of want to do it with Flash Thompson, but his and Betty’s histories are pretty intertwined, so I’d probably be revisiting a lot of the same issues, which kind of defeats the point of making me step outside my usual favorite rereads.) So usually when I’m answering an ask and I want to pull a specific comic panel, I either have it on hand already in my refs folder or I know vaguely enough where it is that I can quickly pull up the relevant issue and save it. I don’t know if it’s a perfect system, but it works for me.
