Danny doesn’t want to stop being Phantom, but he definitely blames having that identity for a lot of problems he faces
Unfortunately, when he complains about those problems to Sam and Tucker, to an outside observer, like Valerie, it sounds like Phantom’s bullying Danny
The next time Phantom goes out on patrol, he has a tough time getting back to the portal to release the ghosts he caught because it appears as tho the Red Huntress is just,, guarding Fentonworks??

Sylvia Legris is a plenty successful poet as is but I do feel that she should have more Tumblr cachet. Like. Locked Tomb girlies look at these bone verses
Details of Articulated Skeletons, c. 1510
Memento marrow. The treacherous thread of the unnamed. The flourish-stripped reunion of broken parts.
The polymathematician (the osteo-horoscopist) plumbs the anonymous bones, the forlorn unspoken-for. Lead white, bianco di piombo, the poisonous orbit. An algebraic
of discrete desecration. Cancellous bone, cortical bone, an innominately rising hip bone. The acrimonious split of the acromion from the scapular spine. Explode the view . . .
Exploit the post-medieval zodiac. A moon-distending thorax; the gibbosity of the humeral head. The anteriorly tilting ascent of the pelvic girdle. False false ribs and the acute
angle of descent of rib one and rib two. Memento mori. Woe betide the Renaissance bonesetter. Bone-beset.

A thought I had about Pathologic 2 Eva Yan is that she's a physical reflection of the player character's motivations and narrative throughline. This is only a thought (I hesitate to say Theory. You get it) insofar as only Haruspex is out, but with news of Bachelor approaching is worth considering.
Pathologic Classic HD Eva is a Utopian, reflective of Bachelor. She remains a Utopian for all three routes, unchanging from an ideological standpoint. In Pathologic 2 Haruspex route, however, she's wildly different; perhaps the character with the biggest redesign, visual and ideologically. But her personality is the same. She's airheaded, spiritual, and incredibly naive. In Pathologic 2 Haruspex, now consider her a reflection of Artemy. Not a friend, but a parallel; a manifestation of his narrative strapping itself to Eva. That leads her to appropriating his culture, donning a facsimile of what herb brides wear and dancing among them despite being wholly and fundamentally at odds with their way of life. But she will not back down, forever determined to join them. She will die in the nocturnal ending, of course. She's not immune. But she's not a tabula rasa. She's not reflecting Artemy's motivations one-to-one, but steeped through what is fundamentally Eva. She's reflecting not only him and his route, but on an in-game AND narrative level, the racism of the town. She's a white lady after all, and there's no nonracist way a white lady can reflect the Indigenous traditions and culture of the Kin.
Seeing a glimpse of her redesign for Bachelor route makes me interested in seeing her portrayal in his part. I think she will be different than her portrayal in P2 Haruspex route, and instead be more similar to her Classic HD characterization; rewritten into a reflection of the Bachelor's goals and his story's throughline. I think she will be an earnest sycophant towards him, dreamy and romantic about the capital, or perhaps about death itself. That's certainly in line with her characterization in Classic HD. And then, in a thousand years, we would see how she's portrayed in Changeling's route as a reflection of her ideology.
Pathologic 2 Eva is a character not only doomed by the narrative but sculpted by it too. Sculpted by the motivations and ideologies of the PC. On a story level she's a woman who once an idea forms in her head, will follow it to its conclusion without a second thought, dreamy yet adamant in her procession. She embodies the soul of the cathedral, embodies the Utopian ideal! Just as she embodies the holistic methods of the Haruspex, for better or worse.
I've spoken of Eva on many different levels of meta here. I don't think it will "be confirmed" in the upcoming P2 Bachelor route that she is wholly shaped by each narrative, but I think it would be interesting if they explore her this way. I would, anyhow.

Been thinking about pacific rim lately and... do pilots know whose memories are whose. Do they ever forget what's theirs and what's not. Does one ever remember and the other doesn't. Like has one of then ever said "on my fifth birthday, my mom-" and without missing a beat the other goes "that's my birthday. On yours-" and the other one just smiles at them.
Where do the lines blur.

Hi!! Hello!! I've just been passively listening to your blog for a bit and I just have to say. auauua you actually giving Nahida the spotlight she deserves is so refreshing! I love Wanderer in all his forms, but the lack of character studies/general brainworms about Nahida is so sad to me D: She's an archon!! You'd think people would talk about her more in the general fandom... Idk, personally, she's a pretty relatable character in the way of having to become an adult for the people around her (in her case, becoming a knowledgeable god despite having the mind of a child for the sages) like!! She is smart, but she is a KID. Haven't a fair number of people experienced that? And justifying the behavior too- like I (personally) think that Nahida tries to make the horrendous behavior of generations of sages seem Less Bad bc 'oh, they were probably so lost without the Greater Lord.. and I wasn't what they were looking for' Because admitting that you were hurt for a reason that was entirely NOT YOUR FAULT actually feels Really Bad. LOCAL BABY GOD IS RELATABLE TO THE MASSES!! (Could be a bad take, I do need to rewatch the Sumeru quests.. it's been so long.. my little guys..) BEFORE I GET TOO SIDETRACKED UH. yeah. Thank you for the Radish Thoughts they are really really appreciated by someone who also thinks Nahida is Pretty Neat!
WTF UR GONNA MAKE ME CRY IM SO GLAD. I love Nahida I’m glad it resonates. Tbh i think that take isn’t bad at all bc I actually also had a similar interpretation of her downplaying her neglect in the same way she downplays her worth as an Archon bc obviously there’s overlap between the two
Assortment of screenshots I feel go along with this , starting with how the Sages’ treatment of her is discussed textually:
When we learn she’s being imprisoned for the first time in the AQ, Nahida’s response is quite literally her justifying why the Sages’ decision makes “rational” sense because (like u said!) she’s not Rukkhadevata and by extension isn’t a “real enough archon”
Nahida internalizes the “my existence has little meaning” to the point she justifies beating herself up as an inferior archon over Dunyazard’s presumed death as “rationally observing the distance between herself and a real archon”:
And also the first thing she does when we set her free is apologize for letting the Sages neglect her. We also get her basically saying she was never angry about what was done to her until she was being rescued:
She goes onto say she’s going to punish the sages harshly, but then it’s noted by multiple characters they think she wasn’t harsh enough with her punishment. Which is a haha aww Nahida doesn’t have it in her to be harsh. But it’s also like haha aww. Nahida doesn’t have it in her to be harsh even to the people who dehumanized her and kept her in a cage for generations Zjsjmxkxjnsj
Nahida as a person seems to be someone who clings to a sense of personal control , my main reasoning for this is it’s directly stated in her character stories the reason she gives up her Gnosis to Dottore for information would be to have more knowledge and therefore control over a situation:
With one Gnosis still in her hands, Nahida could not help but hesitate. She barely knew more about the Gnoses than she knew the "truth" of the world. […] Shaking hands in bargain means an equal compromise for both sides, a far cry from any victory. On the other hand, turning down the bargain indicates a certain type of "ignorance," which, obviously, would more easily invite a loss of control. Thus did the "God of Wisdom" instantly find her answer...
So her rationalizing her own neglect or Anything Bad That Is Done to Her to me is a way of asserting a sense of control over her situation when she has none, just as u said!

I can't relate to the "I hate popular motifs" sentiment... to me it kinda depends on how it's executed I suppose. I still like fucked up deer stuff. and bones stuff. and cannibalism. when it's good.

ok ok this is probably dumb but i gotta get it out there because i have lots of thoughts and if i don't say them my brain will bother me about it forever so :
earlier today i saw a post about how much darker ride the cyclone could've been- the kids still having their injuries from the fall , having to do the songs and choreography because karnak makes them but having it hurt them and eventually they all just collapse from pain and exaustion- and while that's an amazing concept for a much sadder version and i can tell it would be absolutely DEVASTATING to see performed it also got me thinking about how different that would be from the actual show and the reason they're all there in the first place .
karnak brought them there because , in his own words , he wanted to let them express not who they were perceived to be , but who they dreamt they were . this was his gift to them- "a eulogy" , he says , to these kids unfairly torn from the world before they got a chance to fulfill those dreams . and as he assures ocean after her "catchphrase" , their will is still entirely their own . they choose the songs they sing , not one of them is forced to . he was ready and willing to let ocean concede without singing at all (although i suppose that could've been because he knew she would never go through with it at that point) , and apart from her initial catchphrase , none of the kids object to having some of their moves choreographed . as another post points out , he even lets them do some of their own , unchoreographed , dancing during sugar cube . and all in all , they're happy to have had the chance !! they all get to know each other so much better over the course of the show , and ricky even gets his abilities to walk and speak back so he can better communicate to the others what he wants to say . and of course , penny gets her memory back and is able to live out the rest of her life . it's amazing that even one of them was able to come back like that , and everything that lead to that point helps them all realize things about each other , and life , and death , that they otherwise would never have known .
....i got kinda off topic there . i guess my point is , the "competition" for reincarnation was a gift to the kids , not a curse . it was a way to let them say the things they had always wanted to , and learn lessons they never had the chance to learn in life . to change it to something they were being forced to do , something that was hurting them- that would change the point of the entire show .
ride the cyclone can seem very dark at first- and it is , of course , that is a part of it . but at its core , it's a very optimistic show , and i think that's a big part of what defines it . and karnak , while he can be very sarcastic and mess with the kids (especially ocean , though to be fair she usually deserves it) , is ultimately just .... a lonely guy who knows more than is good for him . and instead of using his power over life and death to manipulate and control the kids for his own entertainment , he gives one of them the chance at life and all of them the chance to express themselves the way they wanted to be seen .
it's optimistic because it says that even though these kids died in a tragic accident , they still have another chance to learn and grow . that's what makes this show what it is , and i love it so damn much . it's hopeful , it what it is , and it's really impressive how they managed to make a story about kids who died in an accident have so much hope ingrained into it . it's contradictory in the most beautiful way , and i wouldn't change it for anything .

i think one thing i'm never gonna get over about the movie is that the memorial wall full of art — some of the drawings are of shadow nimona. i can't get screenshots right now but like. shadow nimona smiling. beaming. getting hearts and smiles and hugs, from the kids, from other shadow creatures. it's just. it's so sweet. like it's the kids who drew that taking all that raw hurt and vulnerability from the final act and giving it the hug and empathy and solidarity it needed. and it's like, look at nimona's line after the kwispy incident, look at the cereal ad, the board game billboard; look at gloreth being taught hate, and then look at the drawings. and i just lose it every time i think about it

U mean U and the others (unholy trinity of Tsaritsa simps) did drag me down a wormhole of oc-ing an existing character with lore and yet still making it adapt to your fic.
in my defense her lore is extremely vague descriptions by other people (who may be biased. staring directly at childe. staring very hard at childe.) and like. the gem description im just working with what i got. also i don't trust hoyo to write my wife correctly so as far im concerned anything they write abt her isn't canon until i approve it /j

weird ask but what. do the arakawa family smell like. like what perfumes do they use/do they stink of cigarettes/etc.
arakawa = the scent of cigarette smoke and bourbon does well to equalize the profile of oud wood, not allowing the sweet smell to overpower his mysterious profile. whatever does seep through, you're more likely to catch the more woody, tangy notes- though people who stay around long enough recognize that sweet, nutmeg smell first
sawashiro = legally have to say he smells like a smokey leather couch cause of his 2019 outfit and for the occasional cig or two he'll have BUT as for colognes, definitely something akin to masato where it's more on the down-low as far as scent impressions go. unlike masato though, it's nothing superbly complex and isn't trying to invite anyone to stay and compliment the profile. besides the leather, theres a deep, earthy smell- but stay around long enough, and you might catch a speck of rose
ichiban = definitely tried to find a dupe for arakawa's cologne, though our boy's on a budget: cause'a that, he's got a preference for more woody colognes, wearing a sweet patchouli cologne that possesses an undertone of orange. luckily, the help of cigarette smoke and shea butter helps dilute the potency of his cologne
masato = definitely isn't shy about buying something pricey, and there's payoff for it. leans towards more extravagant fragrances, a castoreum and leather blend being his usual wear. his cologne isn't overly strong, yet it's present enough to make you want to linger to catch it. the only one on this list to not smell like smoke in the slightest
aoki = wears abundantly brighter and more inviting colognes. opposed to harsh, mysterious smells he'll wear the likes of cedarwood. there's still notes of leather to his profile, though. it's just barely masked by the cedar
mitsu = if we're talkin' the 90's, then nothing especially of note. doesn't care too much about colognes (or can even really afford anything especially nice), and he doesn't pay any real attention to deo and body/hair wash scents. legally has to smell a bit of cigarette smoke on account of hangin with people who smoke, but i couldnt tell you if he smokes himself or not. fast forward to 2019, something about him's telling me he'd wear some kind of aquatic cologne- like sage and sea salt..

I would argue that to my recollection Murderbot in fact does not do a single on-page murder until Network Effect. “These people are actively trying to kill me so I have to kill them back to protect myself/my clients/my friends” doesn’t count as “murder.” Only in NE does it join its noble predecessors GLaDOS, Hera, and Breq in Actual Revenge Murder
