Oh Baby — Quinn Hughes
Tumblr media
Summary: In which you go into labor in another state unsure if your husband will be there to meet your daughter with you
Content Warnings; Labor, Cussing, Needles
Pairing; Husband! Quinn Hughes x Fem Reader
“I’m gonna kill him! Jack, I swear to god I’m gonna kill your brother!” Jack rubbed your back reassuringly, “I know honey. But you can wait to kill him until after my perfect niece is here, right?” You gripped the sleeve of your brother in law’s t-shirt, “If you don’t stop talking Jack, I’ll you first!” A plethora of pain coursed through your body as another contraction ripped through you. Jack gritted his teeth as you clawed his hand.
Jack had always been the one of your two brothers in law that you were closer to, majority of that being the closeness in your ages comparatively to you and Luke. You were 3 years older than Jack and 5 years older than Luke. So you and Jack were closer friends. So when your water broke as you were meeting a realtor for a potential new location for your chain of restaurants, you called Jack knowing he was less than 3 hours away in Washington while Quinn was on his way back from Boston. You had checked into the hospital and gotten situated by the time Jack got to the hospital.
He rushed in holding your hospital bag for the baby, a bag for yourself and another bag of stuff for Quinn. He had called Quinn and reassured his older brother that you were okay, although Quinn could hear you cussing at your ob as she gave you an epidural block. Quinn assured his younger brother that he would be back in time to meet his daughter with you. As time progressed you began to lose hope.
You were in hysterics as you were finally pushing, “Jack I’m scared. What if I’m not cut out to be a mom? I mean I’m only 25 and we just got married. I’m scared that me and Quinn won’t work out.” Jack held your hand somehow tighter, “You are the most amazing person I know, you always know what to say Y/N, you are going to be a perfect mom. And you and Quinn are like a damn rom-com movie. You will be okay, the minute you see your baby girl you will know.” You sobbed as you forced another push, “Thank you.”
The door opened and Quinn rushed in, “I’m here! I may have a ticket but I’m here.” You looked up at your husband, “You made it.” Quinn pressed a soft kiss against your lips, “I wouldn’t miss this for the world.” Your OBGYN smiled, “Hey Mr Hughes, you made it just in time. Give me one more push and you’ll have your perfect girl.” You clutched Quinn’s hand, unaware of Jack who had taken out a digital camcorder and had started to record you and Quinn’s faces as you let out a groan and clutched Quinn’s hand as you pushed.
You collapsed back when you heard it, your newborn daughter’s cries. You felt your heart clench as the OBGYN spoke, “So dad, do you wanna do the honors?” Quinn’s eyes welled with happy tears as he nodded, “Your damn right I do.” Quinn took the scissors and cut the umbilical cord. With the doctors okay, Quinn held your daughter oh so carefully and placed her on your chest. You reached your finger out and your heart shattered and somehow felt more filled as your daughter’s tiny hand wrapped around your finger, “She’s perfect. Look at her Quinn. That’s all us.”
Quinn melted into you, “She might be the girl I love most in the world now.” Jack smiled with teary eyes, “So what’s my new best friends name?” You smiled at your daughter, “Lorelei Jacqueline Hughes. After my mom and my girls alleged best uncle.” Jack grinned at his newborn niece, “Rory Jackie Hughes. You are so perfect, and you lucked out in the parent department. You have the best mommy ever. Your daddy is alright.”
You smiled weakly at your husband, “I have never loved two people this much. This is the best and most fulfilling experience of my life. I love you Quinn Hughes, with all I am.” Quinn kissed you softly, “I love you too Y/N Hughes, will everything in my heart.”

Anonymous Asks: "I have a dilf ask! How would the sunny day characters, alan, and dachabo react to their little one asking them and mama for a little brother or sister for their birthday or christmas?
Classic awkward parents question lol"
Tumblr media
Jack:
"A sibling?" Jack smiles and wraps his arms around you, propping his chin on the top of your head. "Well, I think that's a great idea! Isn't it, Sunshine? After all, having a playmate is important for a child's development. And we want to give you the best life we can! So how could we possibly say no?"
Ian:
Ian glances at you, eyes wide as he tries to come up with a response. "Well, um... I don't... I mean, we can think about it. And talk about it. I'd love another child, but it's a big responsibility." He glances at you once more, trying to judge your feelings on the matter. "We'll... we'll talk about it, okay?"
Shaun:
"Awww kiddo," Shaun crouches down to ruffle their hair with a wide grin. "A sibling isn't something you just get for your birthday. It takes a while to make one! We'll have to buy all the parts, make sure we choose the right style, and then put the whole thing together. Remember how long it took us to build the kitchen table?"
Nick:
Nick takes a moment to very solemnly consider the request. "Well, we have been talking about what to get you for your birthday. But you'll have to be very good and very patient. Babies take a while, and they're a big responsibility. You'll have to show us that you're ready to be an older sibling..."
Joseph:
"A sibling...?" Joseph lets out a slow breath and raises a questioning eyebrow to you. "Well, a baby isn't a gift. I mean, it is a gift. But it's... well, you don't just get one for your birthday. We'll have to do a lot of planning. Budgeting. Making sure we can take care of both of you. We'll see, okay?"
Jean:
"How about it, sweetheart?" Jean's nose nudges at your neck, breath brushing over your shoulder. "You can't say no to our child. Look, it would make them so happy to have a little sibling. Don't you want to make them happy? We can even get started tonight... make sure it's born in time~"
Rory:
The grin on Rory's face is equal parts delight and mischief. You can feel his hand on your back, drifting down to give your ass a subtle squeeze. "A little sibling sounds like a great idea! Right, sugar? We don't want them to be an only child forever, they'll get lonely without a sibling to play with."
Bo:
Bo's tail wags hard enough to thump against your hip at the question. He turns to you with wide, pleading puppy eyes. "Oh can we, puppy? Can we please? Another litter would be so nice, it's been so long since I got to—"
You have to silence him with a sharp nudge before he gets too graphic in front of the children.
Alan:
Alan hums thoughtfully, pulling you close to press a kiss to your forehead. "Ya know, it's not a bad idea, Doe Eyes. Ya wanna make the kid happy, dontcha?" His hand drifts down to rub your stomach absentmindedly, and you can tell he's already imagining it. "I think we can make it happen."

one of the many. ( e williams )
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
category: modern!college/university!ellie x female!reader : angst, fluff
summary: after her devastating heartbreak with her first girlfriend in highschool, ellie swore off dating, everything she did was casual, non-committal. that was until you showed up. (basically logan and rory troupe but make it happy)
warnings: alcohol consumption, implied smut, “friends with benefits”, cheating(?), use of the word “baby”, a somewhat copy of rory and logan’s fight, fuck boy!ellie (LMAO I’M SORRY).
word count: 2.1k
Tumblr media
it had been almost three years since ellie’s first, and only, breakup with her ex-girlfriend, cat. she was older now, more mature, i mean for god’s sake she was a junior in college she couldn’t still be hung up on some stupid girl from highschool. that is why she had resorted to this. one girl in today, another one tomorrow. no attachments. casual. she was hanging out in a cramped party at her friend's house, sipping something alcoholic, with one, two, girls on her arm, laughing and giggling and tracing their fingers up and down her fore-arm tattoo. she was, enjoying herself, she guessed. the party life wasn’t exactly dull, it was the crowd she was surrounded with, a bunch of drunken girls over-exaggerating their laugh so that she’ll go home with them. she wasn’t opposed to it, if fact she probably needed to let loose and celebrate the compilation of one of her tests, she just hadn’t found the right girl yet. that's when she spotted you. an absolutely gorgeous girl, trying to find your way through the crowd. and she immediately took the opportunity to…introduce… herself.
“hey girl,” ellie said, wrapping an arm around your shoulder, her action causing your spaghetti strap to fall slightly lower on your shoulder. “i’m ellie, what’s your name?” she asked and you introduced yourself, pulling your strap back to a more comfortable position, and smiled up at her. fuck it ellie thought i’m just gonna go for it. “wanna get out of here?” she asked, earning a smirk and a cheeky ‘sure’ from you as she led you out of the party’s front door.
ellie woke up and stretched her fingers, sore from last night, to see your body draped in and out of the sheets of her bed, still resting. her heart fluttered a little but she chose to ignore it. she sighed, clearly, you didn’t know how this worked. but it was early, and she had never slept with you before, so she gave you cut slack, she’d find a way to get you up and out of her apartment later. a few minutes passed and your body started to feel the lack of ellie’s presence. you woke up in a dingy bedroom full of music posters and scattered clothes. one pile, of which, being yours. your legs were sore as you stood up and grabbed your clothes off the floor, with a little shame in realizing the reality of your situation. you eventually got up all of your belongings and went to find ellie.
“hey,” you greeted, voice hearse and sleepy, as you walked up behind ellie’s sitting figure in the living room. she was wearing new clothes, jeans and a shirt, layered with a flannel with her hair half up pulled into a lazy barely-ponytail. her eyes racked up your body, hair messy and outfit sagged from it being thrown off the night before. “so, um, do you want my number or? i’m sorry i haven’t really done any of this before…” you stuttered on your words.
“look,” she said getting up from the couch, “i like you,” she began, “i really do. it’s just i’m not really into all that relationship crap, you know? i don’t feel like i should be tied down to someone.” she explained, moving her hand to rub the back of her neck.
“oh no i get that,” you lied, “i just, was hoping we can still…hang out.” you said, trying to come as casual as you could.
“oh no, definitely,” ellie said, smirking, as she looked you up and down. you kissed her on the check before you said goodbye. and that’s how it was. at least once a week you’d be over at her place, ‘hanging out’. it was nice. nice, until, “hey,” ellie said whilst scrolling through her phone, looking over at you gathering up your clothes, “down to go to a party?” she asked.
“sure!” you said, a smile rising to your face at the anticipation of spending time with ellie, outside the arrangement the two of you had. you went inside ellie’s bathroom, it was small and a little dingy, in order to fix up your hair and get ready to face the outside world. once you were both ready to leave, ellie locked the front door behind her and walked you to her car. it wasn’t until you were both buckled into her car and driving down to some girl’s house with her hand on your thigh that you realized you and ellie would be out together in public for the first time. i mean, sure, you’d see the other girls ellie was hooking up with but she decided to come to the party with you. you. ellie eventually pulled up to a house and slipped out of her car, with you not far behind. it was obvious with the loud music and yelling coming from the white brick house which one would be entering. you slipped through the front door with ellie by your side and went around to make conversation with the few people you knew here. you knew ellie wouldn’t want you clinging to her side the whole night. more than a few moments passed and pop music remixes blared through low-quality speakers all around the house. you did your best to socialize, and decided to look around and find ellie. luckily, she was in sight. on the other side of a heep of sweaty, dancing bodies. you were going to make your way over until an arm stopped you. the arm tan and delicate resting atop ellie’s knee whilst she sat atop the kitchen’s barstool. you felt a green-monster flash of despair, both anger and sadness. of course ellie wasn’t yours, but fuck, did your delusional-ass-self really think you meant something to her? something more than just a girl she fucks? acid rain fell from your eyes as you stormed your way out of the crowded jungle of drunken bodies. time had passed and you’d gone numb. you’d rationalized it. you and ellie weren’t exclusive, you knew that. so why did that girl fucking bother you so much? it wasn’t her fault, of course, she didn’t know. and that's the thing, know what? exactly, nothing. that’s what you were to ellie, nothing, disposable, replaceable. but your whole pissed-off attitude disappeared into a mear thought when she approached you, body lanky and oh so attractive.
“what’s with this whole ignoring me thing?” ellie laughed, leaning against the wall next to you, looking over your pouting frame. you didn’t want to start anything, god knows you didn’t, but the edging creepy feeling of jealousy washed over you.
“what was that?” you asked simply, not-answering her question with another.
“what was what?” she asked, seeming genuinely confused. you sighed, then began again, uttering the first answer to a question since the conversation first started.
“her…” you said, looking around the room for the girl ellie was with earlier, “that…girl…you were all flirty with.”
“oh,” ellie sounded surprised, “that’s dina,” ellie laughed, “another, friend, of mine.”
“friend?” you asked, as if you doubted her use of the word, “that’s what i am?” you asked, jestering to yourself, “a fucking friend?” you saw the gears turning in ellie’s head, the fight or flight kicking in. she composed herself without the slightest reaction that she was ever the least bit scared, to the untrained eye that is.
“yeah.” ellie’s voice grew impatient and angry, as if to say, ‘i don’t have time for your crap’, “that’s what we agreed upon.” ellie moved her hand from her hip to in front of her, “friends.” her stern voice and your overwhelming guilt and regret was building up and you felt tears starting to form in your eyes. you let out a,
“y’know what? i- i can’t fucking do this,” before your voice could break and left the party, letting you walk yourself home. it wasn’t until you reached the welcoming doors of your bedroom that the tears that were welling in your eyes finally fell. and they fell fast. you sobbed into your pillow all night, so much so, when you woke up your pillow was still damp. you knew you couldn’t do it anymore. you slumped off your bed, and made sure to take care of yourself. you showered, did your skin care, put on something more comfortable. you opened your phone, scrolled to ellie’s contact and pressed ‘call’. there was only one ring until,
“hello?” she called out your name.
“we need to talk, ellie.”
you walked through the mountains of fall leaves and cold air to reach her apartment. you planted a solid two knocks on her door and she immediately opened the door, you could tell she was nervous. her nails were picked at and her eyes darted everywhere around the room but you. the tension was thick, and you knew you had to settle, or rather end, it.
“ellie, i don’t think we should see each other anymore.” you bluntly stated.
“ugh, c'mon is this about that stupid shit last night? you're still hung up on that?” ellie questioned.
“look it's like you said, you can’t be couple-y with me and i get that it’s just i’m a ‘girlfriend’, ellie, i have ‘girlfriends’ not…friends.” you explained, used your hands to display a pair of air quotes when you pronounced the word friends. “i’m sick of…i’m sick of being one of the many, i can’t do it anymore, that’s it okay? i can’t be your friend anymore, i thought i could be different, but i can’t, i’m sorry.” you huffed out the big speech you’d crafted on your way to her apartment. after an erie second of silence, ellie spoke.
“don’t do that.”
“do what?”
“i get it,” ellie said, rubbing her hands together trying to settle her nerves and her voice at a calm level, “i get what your doing.” ellie accused you.
“i’m not doing anything,” you stated, plainly, confusion written all over your face, wondering where she was going with this.
“if that’s what you want, a…a girlfriend, then just come out and say it okay? don’t make me sit here and worry and feel like i fucked up, don’t make me pace around my apartment, don’t come here saying ‘i can’t see you anymore’ don’t fucking do that! i’ll be your girlfriend? alright? that’s what you're really saying huh?” ellie lectured you.
“that’s not what i’m saying, ellie.” you tried to explain, but she kept going on,
“no, no, but that’s what you mean, don’t you?” she sighed, putting her hands on your waist, “c’mon, i’ll do it”
“what?” you gasped.
“i said i’ll do it, okay?” ellie forcefully stated, “i’ll be your girlfriend, it’s either all or nothing baby.”
“you can’t be my girlfriend,” you pushed her back.
“who says i can’t? huh?” ellie’s hands slithered their way back onto your waist.
“um, you, last night!” you declared, recalling her aggravated tone from the night before.
“oh come on! last night was last night, forget about it, right now is right now and i want, scrap that i need you, don’t– don’t leave me sweet girl.” ellie pleaded, begged you. you placed a hand on your hip in an attempt to display fake confidence.
“you have a hundred girls on speed dial.” you scoffed, disbelieving of this ‘new’ ellie.
“who cares about them? they don’t matter to me.”
“look,” you began, “i know you, i know your type, commitment is not your thing and that’s fine! non-commitment isn’t mine so it's better if we just go our separate ways.” you turned to leave. ellie’s hands, previously placed on your waist, went up to arm and turned you back around to look at her.
“just let me try,” ellie said, looking deeply genuine, “if i say i can do this, then i can do this.”
“ellie–” she interrupted you calling out her name, with your own.
“do you really want to stop seeing me?”
“no,” you stuttered, “but i can’t–”
“‘cause i don’t wanna stop seeing you.” ellie smiled at you.
“are you sure–?” she cut you off a third time, this time with her lips. waves crashed and goals scored in that moment. her lips, never so delicate until this point, landed on yours and connected each other. it was utterly and absolutely euphoric. her lips were soft, softer than other times you had kissed. and it was then you knew. it was then you both knew. you were the one. she didn’t want anyone else. only you. her girlfriend. and she was finally proud to call you that.

I FUCKING LOST THE ASK BECAUSE TUMBLRS A BITCH. Some lovely anon asked for subby charlie crying with a soft dom sadist reader. Here it is! I added a Mommy kink because it felt right.
Tumblr media
Happy Tears
Charlie Walker x Fem!Reader
A/N: for some fucking reason I wrote this like very...detailed or something? idk but I like it, so... enjoy!
Word count: 502
Warnings: mommy kink, dacryphilia, overstimulation, my endless love for Rory's gorgeous blue eyes, a mention of Charlies fanboyness?, my guesses at Charlies music taste, unprotected sex (wrap it, people!)
"Fuck! Momma- *hic* Momma, please. I can't, i-" He cut himself off with a whine, trying to squirm away from your touch.
"Charlie, you've only cum twice though, baby~" Fuck, he's so pretty when he cries.
"Can you be good for me and give me just one more?" The way he rapidly nods his head, bringing a smile to your face.
"I'm gonna ride your pretty cock, baby." He looked up at you pleadingly, those beautiful blue eyes glassy from the tears of the past hour.
"Mhm. Wanna make you feel good too momma." You stroked his cheek with a soft touch, one that felt lovingly familiar.
Grabbing his cock, you gave it a few slow strokes, placing one last kiss to the tip and guiding towards your entrance. He whined at the contact, unconsciously bucking his hips, sliding himself into you accidentally.
"Ah! FuCK! I'm s-sorry momma!" His breaths shuddered as you continued to sink down onto him, his girth stretching you deliciously. You smiled down at him, letting him know you weren't mad at all.
You slightly shifted your hips, sending shock waves of please through Charlie. He whimpered and jerked his hips again, the sensitivity coming on strong already.
"Doing so well baby, momma's so proud." He smiled at you and did his best to fuck up into you, the trembling of his thighs aiding to his struggle. He knew your body like the plot of stab 1, and you, his. He knew the exact angle in this position to hit to slam straight into the sweet, spongy spot of yours.
You threw your head back and rocked your hips, back and forth, back and forth. Charlie did his best not to cum yet, trying to focus on something else in the room to distract him.
The clock on the wall, slowly ticking rhythmically, mocking his unsteady breaths. Tick-Tock. Tick-Tock.
The slight whirr of the paused Cure CD on the CD player, whirring in wait of when he'd play it. Whrrr.
The ding of his notifications going off, he completely forgot that you were supposed to be at a party with your friends, they were probably going off in the group chat. Ding! Ding! Ding!
And he finally turned back towards you. Fuck. The slight tremble of your plush bottom lip, your perfect bouncing tits, the few hickies on your neck from earlier. Looking down at where you both connected, he could've came right there.
There was a ring of your creamy slick around the base of his cock, making this lewd, wet, slapping noise every time your hips met. You tipped his head up to look at you.
You leaned in and kissed him, giving him that shove towards the edge that he so desperately needed. He pulled away quickly to warn you of his oncoming release. Choked whimpers and moans coming out in place of words.
Tick-Tock, Whrrr, Ding! And you.
"Shit- close!" He swore he saw stars.
"Go ahead and cum for me. My good boy."

we need more fresh-out-of-the-pit aurora. i see so much newly summoned phantom and about how he's left out and confused and just wants to please his packmates and like YES absolutely but what about rory?!?!??! (under the cut because i went on a tangent)
first of all - her summon !!
phantom and aurora being bonded summon buddies means everything to me so yes they got summoned together in the same circle no i won't take criticism yes they're in love in every way possible
rory refuses to look at anyone but phantom for the first few days, no one can even get a good look at her face. the girls take her on the tour of their part of the den and all that but she looks at the ground the whole time and escapes to her room until phantom is done getting the tour and they hide together. she only wears his clothes (aka swiss' old clothes but she doesn't know that yet) for ages and they'll venture out together to get food and maybe explore their new environment a bit but apart from that you don't see them.
but then how about a bit after her summon when she gets more used to things? what about her being so tiny? in the pit it had its positives but topside? she's still getting used to everything being so big. she has no concept of fashion or hair or makeup so when she sees cumulus and her beautiful white curls she decides i want to do that! and lus ends up having to brush out all the knots she made for an hour. or how about this - she's absolutely TERRIFIED of the older ghouls. aether and omega? she is kind of used to. zeyphr? not yet. alpha? absolutely not. after only knowing of her own small multi ghoul size and her pale pink complexion her whole life in the pit, how do u expect her to react to the massive, grey skinned fire ghoul? that's a trick question, she won't deal with him. she disappears into thin air (she's half air ghoul!!!!) everytime she sees him.
but that's just the silly stuff, what about the angst???
seeing how close cirrus and cumulus are and desperately wanting to impress them, but overdoing it and embarassing herself so she doesn't talk to anyone but phantom for a week and the girls are so upset that she's back to square one?
or during that week - not being able to talk to phantom as much as she's like because aether has him practicing so much and she's still slightly intimidated by the older ghoul so she doesnt wanna annoy him by stealing away his student so she seeks out mist - the solitary ghoulette who only really hangs out by the shore occasionally - but mist wasn't even aware there was a new ghoulette so she freaks out at the sight of rory and rorys left all alone with no clue how to make friends
or her returning back to the abbey hours later when everyone was stressing about where the fuck the tiny ghoulette disappeared to and turns out she got lost in the forest trying to find flowers for the girls as an apology because she saw mountain give them bouquets and she's covered in scratches and mud and bug bites and her hair is full of leaves and sticks and she's sobbing her eyes out and phantom runs over to her and won't let anyone near her for the whole evening and snaps at anyone who comes too close
but eventually aether gets them both to calm down and the girls bring aurora into their part of the den and clean her off (with phantom there watching over her the whole time because he's not that calm yet) and tell her she doesn't have to impress them and put cream on all her bites and braid her hair and tell her how pretty she is and how they're so happy she's here and eventually swiss pulls phantom away to talk to him about not trying to murder his packmates over aurora because none of them are going to hurt her (phantom saw aurora being upset because she got lost looking for stuff for the girls and immediately thought they did it on purpose) and when he leaves the girls make a big pile of pillows and blankets and lay her down and let her get all her feelings out
and she's on her side and cirrus is at her back and cumulus at her front and sunny at her feet and they're all whispering sweet nothings to her as she cries silently at how comforting it all feels and falls asleep to lus humming a tune and wakes up and the whole pack sit down in the morning to talk it all through 💕💕💕💕
oh yes and she definitely saw cirrus eating salad one day and then mountain took her to the flower field just beyond the greenhouse and turned away for 2 seconds and she started trying to eat all the flowers because she thought that's what cirrus' salad was made out of

Okokok so what if the reader is a part of the more popular crowd but is secretly really nerdy and owns like every superhero comic book known to man. And Rory being Rory is like madly in love with her already because she's just really pretty plus she helped him once so now he's like head over heels. But anyways what if the gang are at a comic book shop but see the reader there and like to confront her by asking why she's there and she basically just starts RAMBLING on and on and on about how big of a fan she is of these comic books. And Rory just falls even more in love with her(if that's even possible) and like he just puts his hands on her cheeks to make her shut up and just says "you're the girl of my dreams" and like kisses her BOOM! EVERYONE SHOCKED!! BOOM HAPPY ENDING!!
Girl of My Dreams (Rory Keaner X Reader)
Masterlist
Request Something!
Summary: Rory Keaner was already heavily infatuated with Whitechapel’s pride and joy, Y/n L/n. But when he finds out she’s a nerd, he falls even harder for her.
A/N: Reader nerds out over scooby doo bc I nerd out over scooby doo, you wouldn’t believe how much I talk about it irl. So yea reader and Rory bond over scooby apocalypse (it’s like the only comic I own) and scooby lore, this fic is kinda just me projecting lmao
***
It was no secret that Rory was head over heels for Y/n L/n, one of the most popular girls in Whitechapel. His friends had tried to get his head out of the clouds because there was no way a popular girl would fall for a nerd. Rory thought that was an outdated concept. Eventually, the gang let him have his delusions because his infatuation seemed to be more than the fleeting crushes he had had on others in the past.
Rory thought he had more of a chance with Y/n than with his past crushes. For one, she actually acknowledged and talked to him without being forced to, like being paired together for a school project. She didn’t push him away when he’d go up to speak to her, despite the looks her friends would give him for just approaching them. Y/n seemed engaged in their conversations, making Rory’s dead heart flutter when she’d add on to something he’d say instead of wondering what he was talking about.
“She’s not just hot, Benny!” Rory argued with his friend as he and the gang walked around an outlet mall. The girls wanted to go shopping, and the boys thought that would be the perfect opportunity to look for things to add to their game and comic collection. “She’s really nice and sweet and funny and hot!”
“I’m just saying that maybe you shouldn’t get your hopes up too high, Rory.” Benny sighed, trying not to crush his spirits. “I mean, have you thought that maybe she’s nice to you because she’s popular and doesn’t wanna seem like a bitch in front of people?”
“Don’t say that about her, Benny! Besides, we’ve talked in private before. And she’s just as nice, maybe even nicer!”
“When have you talked to her in private, Rory?” Ethan asked. He half regretted asking because Rory got even more excited.
“Okay, so I was in the library, right? We had some research project, and I was trying to find a book. Well, Y/n was also in the library, and she came up to me asking if I was looking for something. Turns out, we were looking for the same book, so when we found it, we took notes on it together. Did you know she color codes her notes?”
“I learn something new about her every day,” Benny muttered. Erica decided to butt in.
“Guys, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but stop being so hard on Y/n.” Benny and Ethan looked at her, confused. Erica never passed up an opportunity to rag on somebody. But to be fair, she usually ragged on them. “I remember before I became a vampire, she was like the only popular girl who didn’t treat me like trash or like I was invisible.”
That convinced the group a bit more about Y/n. Rory was very imaginative, while Erica was blunt and didn’t care too much about hurting someone’s feelings if what she was saying was honest. One of the boys was going to say something when Rory gasped.
“Guys, I found the comic store!” He raced to the door as fast as he could without using his vampire speed. The rest ran after him, trying not to get hit by the door he whipped open. Rory sped to the comic section as the rest casually looked around. Ethan was in the games section when Rory came back, running into him.
“She’s here!” Rory whispered in a panic.
“Who’s here?” Ethan asked, startled, looking over Rory to see who he was talking about.
“Y/n!” Rory said sharply, looking back for a moment to see if she had heard her name. “She’s in the comic section; what do I do?”
“Go talk to her?” Ethan was confused. Rory was going on and on about how Y/n was so nice and easy to talk to. He didn’t understand what was stopping him from doing so now.
“It’s not that easy! Yeah, at school, it’s fine. But this is, like, out in the open. This is unexplored territory, E!”
“No, it’s not, Rory.” Ethan put his hands on Rory’s shoulders, trying to get him to focus. “You can do this, man. You’re in a place you’ve been in about a thousand times. You’ve talked to Y/n enough times to the point where you’re comfortable enough to go up to her on your own. This should be like a dream scenario for you.”
Rory stared off, thinking about what Ethan was saying. He was right. Y/n was now in his territory, without any of her judgemental friends around her. Talking to her should be a breeze.
“Come on, Rory, go talk to her.” Rory was startled when Ethan started pushing him. He almost stumbled over his feet as Ethan shoved him toward the comics before walking back to the game he was looking at. Rory looked down the aisle. Y/n was still there, looking at a shelf. He took a deep breath before strolling over to her.
“Hey-” Rory cleared his throat, his voice coming out a bit high out of nervousness. “Hey, Y/n. What are you doing here?”
The girl turned to him, immediately smiling at his presence. Rory felt butterflies rapidly flapping around in his stomach.
“Hey, Rory! I’m just here looking for some comics that I’m missing from my collection.” Y/n picked a comic off the shelf. “You know, I’m kinda surprised this is our first time running into each other here.”
“Really?” Rory asked, sneaking a peak at the comic Y/n had picked out.
“Yeah, I mean, I come here-”
“No way! You like Scooby Apocalypse too?” Y/n looked down, realizing he was looking at what was in her hand. She grinned at the fact that he recognized it.
“Yeah! I love Scooby Doo, especially when they have a cool concept like this.” She looked back at the shelf and found another comic in the series that she was missing. “Although, I have to say that my favorite Scooby media has got to be the Mystery Incorporated series.”
“I loved that show!” Rory grinned. As if Y/n wasn’t perfect enough in his eyes, he also discovered that she was a bit of a nerd like him.
“The storytelling is so good! Like finding out that the mystery gang was all connected to the previous group that disappeared and Fred finding out he’s the son of two of the members! Oh my gosh, don’t even get me started on finding out that Scooby’s the descendant of creatures from a whole different dimension, and that’s why he can talk.” Y/n didn’t notice Rory looking at her like a lovesick puppy, thoroughly entranced by her rambles. “Did you know that Anunnaki, the creatures, was actually a group of gods in the Mesopotamian pantheon? So like, Scooby could actually be seen as a descendant of gods! I feel like the writers of the show put so much effort into-”
“God, I wanna kiss you so bad right now,” Rory said dreamily. Y/n paused her ramble, looking at him in surprise. Rory soon also became surprised at what he had just said.
“You wanna kiss me?” Rory realized that she didn’t look disgusted or weirded out. She smiled softly at him, waiting for an answer. He took a deep breath to get the courage to speak.
“Yeah.” He nodded, watching her smile get bigger.
“I wouldn’t mind if you did.” Y/n shrugged, taking a step closer to him.
All fear washed away at her words. Rory stepped closer to her until there was barely any space between them. He cupped her cheeks with both hands.
‘She looks even more pretty up close.’ Rory thought as he took one final look at her for confirmation before pressing his lips to hers. One of Y/n’s hands left the comics she was holding to hold the back of his neck, drawing him more to her as their gentle kiss continued.
One of his hands slid down to rest on the small of her back. He gripped the fabric of her sweater as if none of this was real and she would fade away. But it was happening, and nothing could tear them away from this moment.
Until they heard a ‘whoop!’ and broke apart suddenly as if they had just remembered they were in a public place. Rory’s hand on Y/n’s back pushed her closer to him like he was scared that being found so close to him would scare her away. But instead, she leaned into him as her head whipped toward the source of the noise.
“Go, Rory!” The boy looked like a deer in headlights at his friends, who were crowded at the end of the aisle. They all looked both surprised and proud of him for finally making a move, even more surprised that Y/n reciprocated the kiss.
“Uh, a little privacy?” Rory laughed awkwardly, even though they were in public. The friend group quickly nodded and dispersed, acting like they were focused on other things while secretly listening to Rory start to talk to Y/n.
“If that kiss didn’t show it, I really like you, Y/n.” He smiled nervously. “You’re like the girl of my dreams.” Y/n laughed.
“Well, in case my kissing you back didn’t show it, I really like you too, Rory.”
“You’re even more perfecter than I thought you were.”
“‘Perfecter’ isn’t a real word in that context, Rory,” Sarah commented, forgetting that she and the gang weren’t supposed to be eavesdropping.
“Hey!” He looked at her offended before being drawn back to Y/n by a hand on his cheek.
“I think you’re just as perfect, Rory.” He giggled when she leaned in to kiss his cheek. From the corner of his eye, he saw the friends look at him expectantly, like he was supposed to do something. He racked his brain on what he should say.
“There’s an arcade nearby,” Rory said suddenly. “I have some money and… If you don’t mind, I really wanna keep hanging out with you.”
“I’d like that a lot.”

“Is she still staring at me?”
“Yep” Ethan went to adjust the hood of his hoodie again.
“Can you be any more obvious than that?” Benny remarks and Ethan’s hands go down slowly
“What’s her deal anyways? What did I even do wrong?”
“Why are you asking me? How would I know?”
“Hey guys!” a certain blonde boy appears , with a tray of food in hand
“Rory, sit down and eat your food!”
“Well someone’s in a bad mood today, damn Benny.”
Ethan is still staring down at his lunch. The mere thought of putting something in his mouth feels overwhelming. Anxiety runs through his body and he can’t stop his leg from shaking under the table. He’s trying not to make it obvious that he can feel your gaze on the back of his head from the other side of the room but that’s very difficult.
“What’s wrong with you E? What's wrong with everyone today?” Rory, the ever-so-oblivious, picked up on him acting weird. That’s definitely a bad sign.
“Y/n has been tearing him limb for limb with her eyes for the last 5 days and he has no idea why.” Benny answers
“Why?”
“...didn’t I just say…” and the normal banter starts again
Ethan does the same thing he’s been doing every night for the last 3 days: think. Think back to the day you stopped talking. Where was he? Well at school, it was monday. What did he do? Nothing unusual. Just classes and then lunch with the guys. He’s gone through his routine a dozen times by now, there was nothing to point out new and the more time passed, the more blurry his memories got.
The most frustrating part was how sudden it had all been. You two were so close, in fact you were the closest you had ever been. Ethan met you around 3 years ago now, when you joined their little friend group but in the past month, it was like you and him were growing so much closer within your own relationship. There was a lot more time spent between just the two of you, a lot more messages exchanged. Late night video game competitions and sometimes study sessions, although those would more than definitely turn into a regular hangout session with no work done. Ethan was enjoying how much more time you would spend at his house everyday and how happy you seemed to always be. He felt so comfortable with you. There was a sense of never having to worry about being anything other than himself, because he knew, without a doubt, that you liked him just as he was. He didn’t need to show off, and that was nice!
And then suddenly you’re not wishing him good morning when you walk past his locker. You take a seat at a different table in your shared classes. When Ethan approached you to see what’s up, you quickly made some lame excuse and got out of there, every time! You stopped replying to messages, let alone come over like you used to. At first he thought you were going through something and needed your space, so he tried to respect that. But the more time passed, the less ignored he felt and much more resented. The nasty glares, purposeful ignorance of him. You didn’t even make the effort to reply to him when he approached you at school anymore, instead walking right on ahead without eye contact. Now you were sitting at a different table for lunch, staring arrows at the back of his head. It was really aggravating how what he considered to be a nice, open and honest friendship was now turning into what felt like a rivalry. He didn’t like accepting it but your behavior was growing aggravating. It was getting on his nerves and even he could tolerate it any longer. He couldn’t stand the thought he did something wrong. He was perfectly innocent! None of the people he asked could think of something he did wrong. HE couldn’t think of something he did wrong. You were so absurd for this! You were so absurd in your behavior for no reason at all!!
The days passed on like that. One week turned into 2 and you still weren’t talking. In fact Ethan had resolved to send you his own nasty glances. When he catches you staring at him again, with the same aggravated frown, he simply raises his eyebrows in a challenge instead of pretending not to notice. It sure didn’t help mend things but he was exhausted of you. If you were looking for attention you’d have to find it elsewhere!
And things kept getting worse! Ethan was still upset and could not get over you. Could not go back to being his old, cheery self knowing you were mad at him. He tried to push his questioning thoughts away but sometimes they were just too much. One positive thing came out of that though: he created a mechanism. When he felt his head too heavy with thoughts, he would go out for a walk. It’s not anything he generally did, but it helped now and it was probably good for him to get some fresh air so it’s ok. That’s how he found himself hearing your laugh. At first he thought he was imagining but no, it was definitely you. Even tho he wasn’t sure where the noise was coming from, it was definitely you!
He tried following the sound, which led him down the street to a convenience store. He didn’t have to pass the corner of the building to know you would be there. He could now clearly hear you and Erica talking.
“It’s not my fault!” your annoyed voice was somehow comforting after so long of no contact
“Listen, I’m never gonna be the one to blame you. If anything, boys are always at fault!”
that got a laugh out of you. So sweet and innocent, it made Ethan feel weak. He knew he shouldn’t be listening into your private conversations but God, it was too interesting to back out now.
“Whatever. I mean he can like who he likes, it’s not my problem to deal with but also, I don’t wanna just sit on the sidelines and watch that happening. Gross!”
“Do you think she would say yes to him?”
“Erica I seriously don’t wanna think about it”
“I mean Sarah is way out of his league in the first place. And definitely uninterested. I mean could you actually imagine them together?”
“Ethan and Sarah? Yeah, I’ve done my fair share of imagining, thanks!”
This made E’s heart drop to his stomach. Him and Sarah? What the hell was this about? There was nothing going on between them. Yes, she was a pretty girl and he used to have a crush on her but that was a long while ago now. He’s swiftly moved on since she made it very clear that she was uninterested. Plus, the closer they got, the more he grew to understand that they would really not work, so it was all fine. So why were they the subject of conversation?
“Of all the girls in the world, you were the closest to him. Honestly, if he was gonna fall for someone, it should have been you!” and you scoff at this
“Well it wasn’t. I heard them talk. He’s into Sarah and all the guys are supportive of that. They are good friends and I wish them all the best but he made his decision and it was not me so I’m moving on in the only way I know how. Creating distance.” “Whatever you say girlie!” Erica’s voice seemed uninterested
Ethan left after that. He had heard too much. ```
He couldn’t find the courage to approach you about what he’d heard immediately after. A part of him was worried you would get mad for listening in on your conversations, the other part of him kept questioning what he’d heard and if it was really true. Did you want him to choose you? Because he will. He already has damn it, just didn’t have the courage to express it. Is that why you were so cold all of a sudden? Would this count as jealousy? He blushed anytime he thought about it. You were jealous because you wanted to be with him! How much luckier can a guy get?
At first he wanted to talk to Benny about it, get some advice but on second thought, decided not to. For a small second he considered asking his mom but quickly changed his mind. He had never really had ‘girl problems’ if you can even call it that, he wasn’t sure who to go to for advice.
It took about a week for him to build up the courage to talk to you. He had pondered the idea back and forth basically every waking moment and was never sure what to do really. When he saw you waiting at the bus station one day after school, all alone and scrolling on his phone, he pushed back every thought and insecurity he felt and approached you, almost mechanically.
“Hey!” his voice cracked a little, giving away the nerves swirling in his head. You barely spared him a second of your time to look at him before going back to scrolling
“How have you been?” he tried, admittedly lacking the old confidence he had around you
“Just peachy. You need something or what?”
“Just making conversation.”
“yeah…don’t really feel like it. Long day, y’know?” but when you caught his eye, the boredom was so clear in your eyes. It hurt him more to see you didn’t even care about hiding your distaste for him anymore
“Yep, got it.” Ethan laughed in response. All his courage, gone! Within seconds!! That irritated him so much. He had prepared for this. Went through every possible scenario, even tried acting out some speeches in his room in preparation and you still had him at your feet with a glance. He felt pathetic and for the first time ever, genuinely enraged by this whole situation. You used to be best fucking friends and look at you now! All within a matter of weeks and from a misunderstanding at that too!!! He knew how to fix this, he just had to say it so why couldn’t he?
“I don’t even like Sarah like that…'' he snarled, under his breath and frankly it was a miracle that you heard him over the white noise of the busy town.
“Like shit you don’t.”
That’s what you had to say? Of all fucking things that was your first reaction?!
“How would you even know how I feel?”
“Clear as day on your face and actions! I don’t need to be a mind reader to crack into that big head of yours!”
“You have no idea what you are even talking about! I act with her the same way I act with all my friends!” Ethan’s voice failed to hide the anger surging through his body. Now, as he faced you completely, head tall and fists clenched in frustration, you seemed just as uninterested. Your gaze didn’t shift from the cracked screen of your phone, shoulders hunched, totally disengaged. It just fueled E more.
“ You don’t even have a problem with Sarah!” he started again, throwing all logic to the wind and speaking whatever came to him “ You just hate that she’s a girl! You would have made this shit up regardless of who it was I got close to!”
Finally, your attention was on him!
“What the fuck makes you think I care enough for that?” you stood up, looking him in the eye
“You mean to tell me we’ve been friends for years with no problems but the second a new girl enters my life and I start spending time with her, you act all crazy and throw a fit? What am I supposed to make of that?” “This has nothing to do with Sarah to begin with! See? There you go making false assumptions again and acting all smart about them, like you actually did something!” “I’m not the one making unbased theories and running with them! You never even asked me about my feelings for Sarah! You just draw a conclusion yourself and then go complain about me to Erica, don’t you?” Anyone would have been able to see the dots connecting in your head at that time. You didn’t spend that much time with Erica anyways.
“You were there?”
“I was behind the corner of the store”
“You were hiding?! What the hell?”
“I wasn’t doing anything! I was out on a walk, I happened to hear your voice!” but his explanation gains him nothing but an irritated scoff. You go back to your phone, seemingly ready to ignore him again, but that just won’t be enough
“So now that all the cards are on the table, can we address the elephant in the room?”
“As I said, you like Sarah. It’s very clear. And that’s fine and you can do whatever you want!” your voice didn’t carry the same rage as before, much more mellow and distant.
Detached.
“I liked Sarah! A long time ago. I don’t now!”
“Okay” said with absolute indifference. Ethan, couldn’t help a roll of the eyes
“You’re unbelievable!” “What do you honestly want me to do right now?!”
“Just say that you like me, if you do!” “I fucking like you Ethan! God damn, I’d think you’d be smart enough to piece it together yourself but clearly you’re just-”
The grasp Ethan had on the back of your head felt strangely powerful and as he pulled you into him, locking your lips together, you genuinely felt yourself considering if this was the same man you knew! Truth be told, Ethan thought about this moment forever! About kissing you, about confessing to you! When he heard your conversation with Erica however, perspectives changed. Now all his thoughts were clouded by you confessing to him, admitting that what his speculations were, in fact, true. He thought about what he would say, how he would react to receiving that confirmation. He practiced the soft smile he’d give you in return, the quiet but tender confession of his own feelings. One thing he never expected himself to do is to aggressively pull you by the back of your neck and kiss you powerfully. He never thought himself the kind to have enough confidence to just go in for such a shameless kiss, but in that moment he wanted nothing more than to just shut you up!
It took a little bit to register, to wrap your head around the sharp pull of your hair and the sloppy moves of his lips on yours. Every conceivable thought in your head told you to pull away, slap him, tell him to leave you alone but your body had a mind of its own and you found yourself tugging him closer by the collar. Your lips moved on his with just as much intensity and fervor as his! The build up of emotion, frustration, anger, all of it boiled down to this moment. Ethan’s hand sneaked around your waist, pulling you impossibly closer and finally, as if satisfied with this outcome, his grip on you loosened. His kisses turned progressively softer. The hand in your hair moved to cup your cheek and almost instinctively, you followed his lead, letting go of the tight grip you had on his shirt, resting your hand of his chest instead.
It felt like a real kiss. Like all the kisses you dreamed about every time you thought of him. You knew your cheeks were burning up and that now, after your anger had subsided, the reality of your situation, the confession, Ethan’s fingers pressing into the plush of your waist, all of it made you shy. When he finally pulled away, bruised lips and breathing heavily, you couldn’t look at him. All this time, you used your anger to cover for just how weak in the knees this man had you but now, somehow, even that had been stripped away.
“I…um..sorry about that! I...should have asked” Ethan was blushing just as much. He was starting to second guess his actions. He took 2 steps back, giving you room again, the feeling of your ragged breaths so close to his lips made his head spin
“It’s ok” you whispered. This was an unusual situation. In one move, all your cards had been turned upside down and now there was no point in even trying to deny the truth.
“So are we good?” Despite trying to sound confident, you could hear the edge of nervousness in Ethan’s voice. It’s the kind of knowledge that comes with many years spent together, and the thought makes you smile.
“Yeah. We’re good.” “Can we possibly be more than good?” Ethan’s chuckles, as if he already knows the answer, if the blush on your cheeks is anything to go by anyways. You giggle in return and nod.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, @rowanaelinn!!
I’m posting this oneshot at midnight in your time zone if my math is right. I was between childhood friends to lovers and exes to lovers, but ended up going for this secret, cuter third thing. However you wanna call it, it’s a TS-inspired fluff fest.
Love you, Ezzy. I hope you have the best day today ❤️

14 YEARS BEFORE
“They’re idiots,” her boyfriend said with all the sureness a second-grader could have.
Aelin groaned. “I told my mom these glasses are stupid, but she won’t listen.”
“I know you can’t see it because the doctor said you’re blind now, but you still look very pretty, Fireheart.”
“I’m not blind!” Aelin whined.
Rowan squinted his eyes at her, not convinced of that yet.
When the school bus stopped and they stepped out, her body finally relaxed. She took a deep breath. That smelly bus full of mean kids had nothing on her neighborhood’s main street, especially when the first thing that hit her senses was coming from Emrys’, her favorite bakery.
Getting home was Aelin’s favorite part of school, but only because she did it with Rowan. She couldn’t stop thinking about today, the embarrassment she felt after the other kids wouldn’t let her play with them because she wouldn’t see the ball. The worst part is, Aelin knew her new glasses were just one of many excuses they had to not let her play.
She sighed, and Rowan squeezed her hand like he knew what she was thinking. After that, he bought her a Kit Kat bar with the pocket money his dad gives him, because he thought he knew how Aelin felt. He didn’t. Rowan said he didn’t want to play with kids who didn’t want to play with Aelin as well, but he only had a few friends because he wanted to.
Their parents were always telling them to use bikes on this stretch, but Aelin and Rowan actually walked on a turtle’s pace so they could spend more time together. Besides, she loved her neighborhood. She liked stopping to pet the neighbors’ dogs through the fences and jumping over the cracks of the sidewalk with Rowan.
Her dad had been telling her all about Doranelle City and how she’d love it there, but Aelin didn’t want to hear it. She loved Mistward, even if it was small and the kids at school didn’t like her. She had Rowan, and she had Emrys’ chocolate cake. It was more than enough.
“Wait here,” he said when they passed by his house.
”Aren’t you going to drop Aelin off, sweetie?” His mother called while she worked on her garden, and turned to Aelin. “I like your glasses. You look great in purple.”
Aelin hoped she wasn’t blushing. Even if Rowan’s mom didn’t approve of their relationship, she was always nice to Aelin.
It was their thing. Aelin walked Rowan home because his house was close to the bus stop, then he walked her home because he wanted to drop her off safely. Only after that he’d walk back to his house, alone this time.
“I’m just going to drop my backpack inside,” he explained.
Mrs. Whitethorn had the most beautiful garden in this block, it was her baby. It had roses and a few other flowers Aelin didn’t know the name of, but the kingsflower was her favorite.
“ROWAN!” Rory called, making Aelin’s eyes go wide and look for her boyfriend.
Before she knew it, he pulled her and they both ran off. Aelin’s heartbeat was as fast as her breathing, but Rowan didn’t let go of her hand as they ran away from his home. He made a stop a little after they turned around the corner, both of them panting and staring at each other with widened eyes.
“What did you do?”
With a sheepish smile, Rowan showed a big, blooming kingsflower he picked from his mom’s garden.
Aelin’s eyes were big with surprise, but then she smiled at him bigger than when she got chocolate cake. “For me?” She beamed, laughing.
Rowan handed over the flower, wearing the boyfriend smile he used just with her.
“I wish I was an octopus, that way I could give you seven flowers.”
“You mean eight.”
Rowan shook his head. “I‘d still need one to hold your hand while we run.”
Aelin’s cheeks were hurting from smiling so much, but she wouldn’t stop even after she got home.
“Do you think your mom will be convinced after that?”
Rowan shook his head. “She still asks me to call you my best friend.”
“Did you tell her we hold hands and share our lunch?”
”I did. She told me dating takes a lot of responsibility and other things kids can’t do.”
Aelin wrinkled her nose. “I think she means kissing.”
“Ew.” Rowan grimaced. “We don’t need that.” He had that little frown that gave away he was thinking hard on something, then sighed. “The couples always kiss on their wedding day, though. I guess I can kiss you if it means we’ll be married when we’re eighteen.”
“Come on, Buzzard.” She tugged on his hand, resuming their walk. “We’ll figure out the grown-up stuff when we grow up.”
Rowan didn’t press on the subject after that, but she knew he was still thinking about it. It was okay, she thought while twirling the kingsflower between her fingers.
Aelin planned the video game they’d play this weekend, Rowan planned the bouncy castle they’d live in instead of a brick house, ten years from now. It was how they worked.
If every day was a day with Rowan, she’d be alright.
CURRENT TIME
PERMISSION DENIED, said the stamp in very red, bold and capitalized letters over Aelin’s request to do part of her research in a rural school near Doranelle City.
Aelin’s furious footsteps clanked against the Depart of Psychology’s tiles as loud as if she were wearing high heels. She knew better than to wear that, though, especially with how many stairs she had to climb to get to the lecture hall.
What was the point of being the psychology department’s nepo baby if she couldn’t even do her research? And was denied by Murtaugh Allsbrook, out of all her dad’s friends.
It was so simple. Aelin just needed permission to do her research at the school Murtaugh worked at, and she didn’t even know that man was capable of saying the word no.
Apparently, he is.
Aelin knocked on her dad’s office, but didn’t wait for his reply to enter. He looked exactly the same as every other day, leaning on that huge, messy wooden desk.
“Fireheart,” Rhoe acknowledged her without taking his eyes off the paper he was grading.
“You didn’t give Murtaugh a heads up about me filing the request?”
“I thought you didn’t want special treatment.” Her dad replied in a quiet tone.
”But you do that to every one of your students!”
Rhoe finally glued his eyes off the paper, looking deep into her eyes with raised eyebrows. “I thought you didn’t want to be advised by me.”
Aelin groaned, placing that damned paper into his desk. “Why are you being so difficult?”
“Sorry, Fireheart.” Her father rubbed his face with both hands. “I guess I’m a little on edge today. I’ll see if any of my students can spot if there’s anything wrong with your papers, then I’ll call Murtaugh.”
Aelin sat in front of him, finally relaxing. “Thanks, Dad.”
Rhoe got up, squeezed her shoulder and headed for his lab down the hall.
She took in his office while waiting. Either as a daughter or as a student, Aelin was very familiar with those wooden floors and lavender essential oil her dad diffused here to help soothing anxious grad students. Now that Aelin was one, she realized it didn’t do much.
“Hi, Dr. Galathynius asked me—“
Her dad’s advisee stopped mid-sentence, and Aelin knew why the second she saw him.
This version of him didn’t resemble the one in her childhood memories at all, but Aelin could recognize those deep pine-green eyes anywhere.
It was like something in her chest loosened to give room for her heart to go wild. No thoughts, the realization that Rowan Whitethorn was standing in front of her after more than a decade, and the funny feeling in the pit of her stomach that came with it.
“Aelin,” he said under his breath, as if her childhood nickname had slipped out of his conscience. His body was completely frozen, eyes wide.
At that point, it wasn’t a matter of if Aelin cared or not. It was a reflex. She got up from her chair and ran Rowan’s way as fast as she could, embracing him in a clumsy, but tight hug. It took a beat for his brain to process all that information and make him hug her back, but he did. So tight he squeezed her ribs a little, but it was alright. Aelin smiled with her head resting on his collarbone, feeling his frenzied pulse against her cheek.
“What are you doing here in Doranelle?” She asked in a quiet, wondrous tone.
He put some distance between them, still holding both of her shoulders and taking her in. “I did tell you I’d move here too.”
Aelin grinned, feeling the leap her heart did at that memory. Rowan’s words when she told him her father got a job on the other side of the country, and she’d be doing 3rd grade there. “Don’t worry, Fireheart. I’ll go with you.”
Swallowing those feelings down, Aelin playfully slapped on his arm. “How long have you been working with my dad? Why didn’t you reach out to me?”
“Just a few weeks, and—“ Rowan rubbed the sting off from his bicep. His insanely large bicep. Aelin trained her eyes back to his face. “It took me a while to decide on an advisor, but your father took me under his wing the second he saw me. And about reaching out…” he did that thing where he just stared at her again, as if he couldn’t believe she was there. “We stayed out of touch for so long, I didn’t want to presume.”
“Presume?” Aelin asked in an outraged, high-pitched tone. “Rowan Whitethorn, you’re my favorite ex.”
“Yeah?” He asked and blinked a few times, looking flabbergasted.
She shook her head slowly, clicking her tongue. “You should’ve seen the dipshits I dated in high school.”
“I-“ He looked at his watch and frowned. “I wish I could invite you for something longer than coffee, but I have Dr. Lochan’s class in an hour.”
“So do I,” she lied. That class couldn’t be further from Aelin’s dissertation, but she needed more time with him.
Rowan was here. She could barely believe it.
“Really?” He scratched his strong, stubbly, mouth-watering jaw. “I haven’t seen you there.”
“Did you even pay attention to your classmates?”
He looked down, a small smile on his lips. “Busted.” He looked back at her. “Do you want to go now and we’ll grab coffee there? Do you need a ride?”
”Sure. I’m trying to take the bus more. Carbon monoxide and all.” Well, that wasn’t exactly a lie. Aelin did care about carbon monoxide. Just not enough to get a crowded, smelly bus first thing in the morning.
Rowan jerked his head towards the door. “Come on, then. I parked close today.”
Dr. Lochan taught at the philosophy building, which was a bit far from theirs. His classes were attended by grad students of the whole humanities field, and rumor has it the cafeteria there is a lot better than the one in the psychology building. Aelin wouldn’t know, but she was supposed to.
As soon as they got in the car, she took her lipstick and carefully tinted her cupid’s bow and bottom lip with pink, drawing Rowan’s attention to her lips. She couldn’t look back at him because it’d be too obvious to spot what she was doing, but Aelin still felt his gaze burning into her skin.
“You ready?” He asked with firm eye contact the second she took her eyes off the mirror.
She nodded, giving him a bashful smile, and Rowan turned on the engine.
Aelin twirled her lipstick between her fingers, considering her next move.
Her favorite person from childhood, the one she had the fondest memories with, was right there. And he looked hot like hell.
Yes, Aelin knew she was being impulsive, but just as much as she wanted to rekindle something right now.
When Rowan was focused on that uni street, she sneaked her tube of lipstick underneath her leg, so it’d look as if she lost it there.
Was leaving something in a guy’s car the oldest trick in the book? Absolutely, but it was as old as it was effective.
Checkmate, she couldn’t lose.
˜˜
Her class—that wasn’t her class at all—had ended hours ago, but Aelin had so much to do she didn’t even notice how time flew by.
Rowan insisted on giving her a ride home after the lecture ended, which meant she had to uber back to the psychology department to get her car. Now that Aelin had her comfy pajamas on and pizza, she was writing Dr. Lochan a formal email, asking to audit his class this semester.
She knew she should’ve been working on her denied application now, but Aelin couldn’t stop thinking about her long lost love from when she was a kid.
Every time she thought of Rowan—which became less frequent each year, but she still did—she remembered him fondly, especially how sweet he was with her.
Never, during all these years, she considered how hulky and insanely hot he’d become.
Like he was being summoned by her thoughts, her phone pinged.
Unknown: Hi. It’s Rowan
Unknown: Rowan Whitethorn. Your favorite ex.
Unknown: Did you forget lipstick in my car?
Aelin put her laptop aside, snuggling in her bed to give her phone full attention now. Smiling, she saved his contact the same way she would’ve done 14 years ago.
Seeing him reach out so fast after they exchanged numbers brought back that funny feeling in her insides, but she still had to calculate her next steps. Aelin squinted at her phone with an alert gaze.
Leaving the lipstick in his car had three goals: make him text her, find out if he’s single by how sure he is about the lipstick being hers, and get invited to a date so he could return it. A question vague like this one did nothing to the second step of this mission.
Aelin: hey!
Aelin: did i?
Aelin: i haven’t noticed
She would rather ignore her fast and erratic heartbeat as she waited for him to finish typing.
Buzzard: It belongs either to you or my bro Lorcan.
Aelin used the little breath she still had to let out a loud, maniacal laugh. No girlfriend, then. She could already listen to the sound of the dominoes cascading in a line.
It was a bold move to leave one of her favorite lipsticks in his car, but Rowan needed to catch up on her tastes. Their wedding was four years too late, she needed to act.
Aelin: there *is* a missing pink lipstick from my purse.
Rowan: Don’t worry, I’ll return it next class
Her shoulders slumped. No date invitation. She could work with that, though.
Before she could look for his social media, Aelin put a reminder on her phone to text him at the same time tomorrow. Time to start some classical conditioning.
˜˜
If it wasn’t for the silver-haired man by her side, Aelin would’ve spent this whole class reading fanfiction online. The class she wasn’t even supposed to attend, for starters.
Dr. Lochan sounded like a sleeping pill to her ears, and it didn’t help that Rowan was playing with the ends of her hair. The electric shock of his fingers against her strands made her shiver, but then the tingling sensation in the back of her neck was so relaxing it almost made her purr.
Her screen lighting up took her out of the sleep-inducing class and hair-caressing haze.
Dad: Did you fix your permission yet?
Aelin: rowan said he just diagnosed it
Aelin: we’ll sit to discuss what can be done later today
Dad: Do you think you can finish before Friday?
Dad: I'll pay Murtaugh a visit. I can hand him the file.
She considered this request, biting her lip. It was Tuesday today. If it took a whole week for Rowan to inspect it, it'd take longer to rewrite it. But then she thought of the very long drive she did to file these at the school Murtaugh worked for. Eh. Taking the risk was worth it.
Aelin: i’ll have it ready by thursday night
Dad: [thumbs up emoji]
When she put her phone down and inched closer to Rowan, he leaned his hand on the backrest of her chair. Aelin suppressed a smile.
“Do you think I can finish rewriting by Thursday?”
He nodded. “I didn’t see anything wrong with your application, actually. Coffee after class?”
“Sure.” Aelin was trying so hard to hide her smug smile.
So far, Operation Rowan was a success. By texting him every day at the same time, it didn’t take long for his brain to learn that as a conditioned response. On the fourth day, he was the one texting her at the time she was supposed to text him.
Aelin couldn’t be happier about her Psychology degree.
She didn’t find Rowan’s social media—she found out later he doesn’t have any, which is a huge green flag—but she did find his Spotify account. When she discovered which artists they liked in common, conversation flew.
After the class, they sat in that same cafeteria to discuss her application.
“I don’t understand why Mr. Allsbrook denied it.” Rowan looked absolutely delicious with those muscles stretching his white cotton shirt while he praised her work. “There isn’t a lot to change, but maybe you should detail more what you’ll be doing with the students for the research, since your work is so innovative.”
She smiled. “You mean experimental.”
“I mean groundbreaking.” Rowan leaned closer, studying her face as the corners of his lips slightly tugged up. ”Any questions?”
“Yes.”
Rowan raised an eyebrow, prompting her further. He was so fucking close, sitting on her side like that.
“Why are you staring at my lips?”
He wasn’t, but he was going to now.
Rowan’s eyes slowly slid from her eyes to her mouth. Back to her eyes. On her lips again. Her knees got weaker each motion, and it didn’t help that they were between his, under the table.
It was like the electricity between them burrowed under Aelin’s skin, waking up her heart that was now beating like a drum.
Rowan gently caressed her jaw. A question. A warning.
Her veins felt like wildfire, heating the air between them. Aelin leaned closer slowly, tilting her head up so they wouldn’t break eye contact until—
“ROWIE!”
Rowan jerked away from her, erasing the moment faster than it started. Aelin’s body felt hot as she looked around, wondering what had just happened.
A blonde man with a I would like to make a joke about philosophy, but I Kant t-shirt approached them, a huge smirk on his face.
“Fenrys.” Rowan’s greeting was almost a protest. “What are you doing here?”
He sat across from them. “Nothing as interesting as you.”
Rowan’s already flushed cheeks just turned a shade darker.
“Hello, gorgeous. Fenrys gave her a troublesome grin. “Since when do you hang out with that grump?”
“First grade.” Rowan narrowed his eyes at his friend, sliding a possessive hand across Aelin’s shoulders. She tried not to visibly swoon. “She taught me the L trick to tell left from right.”
“Oh, really?” Fenrys’ smile grew, and he didn’t seem to miss how Rowan was staking his claim with that arm around her. “Now I need to hear all his stories as a kid.”
“No, you don’t.” Rowan’s voice was so clipped Aelin held back a snort.
Fenrys eyes were gleaming as he smirked like the devil. “All of them.”
˜˜
She didn’t know for how long Aelin and Rowan were there just holding their breaths, waiting for other shoe to drop.
Murtaugh Allsbrook seemed very relaxed, though. Just slowly reading through all the applications and marking them with a PERMISSION GRANTED stamp with very blue, bold and capitalized letters, his signature by its side.
She could barely believe how easy this was.
When Rowan texted her this morning telling Rhoe had asked him to hand the documents at Murtaugh’s school, she was almost sure she’d be rejected again.
The person visiting would be a student, not the professor he’d known for years. He’d read her application again and say he couldn’t let her do research with his students. Aelin already knew she would have to fight for her dissertation, so she asked to come with Rowan.
Her heart almost leapt out of her chest when Murtaugh held her own application. He seemed to be reading faster than the other ones, though.
“I detailed the activities a little further this time.”
The man nodded. If he said something, she couldn’t hear it because of the increasingly loud rain outside.
“I guessed that was the reason why my application got rejected at first.”
“That’s right, dear.” The pitch of Murtaugh’s voice was slightly higher this time, and he closed the file before he could get halfway through it. He had barely read it. When Aelin opened her mouth to speak again, ready to defend her work, the sound of Murtaugh’s stamp stopped her.
PERMISSION GRANTED
Both Aelin and Rowan exchanged small, satisfied grins when the man wasn’t looking. She sat a little taller in her seat, feeling warmth spread through her chest. And not because of the lack of AC in this freaking school.
She could barely believe how easy it was this time. Her dad called in a favor, it was the only reason she got rejected and then accepted without Murtaugh even reading what she rewrote. Aelin would question her father later, now she just wanted to enjoy this moment.
After the man started some small talk with Aelin and Rowan—mostly about Rhoe and the projects some of his students would be working on in this school—and went through all the files, it was finally time to go home.
“You did great there.”
Aelin groaned. “He didn’t even read my adjustments.”
“Maybe he regretted rejecting you?”
She snorted, but it sounded bitter even to her ears. “Maybe he got a phone call from my dad.”
“I don’t doubt it, I’ve seen him doing that for other students.” Rowan squeezed her hand. “It’s not a bad thing, though.”
Chuckling, he slid that one hand around Aelin’s waist, tugging her closer.
Ever since meeting Rowan again, she realized her skin tingles everywhere he touches her. It was starting to become an issue, especially because it had been a few days since their almost kiss, and she couldn’t stop replaying it in her head.
Outside, Aelin realized the rain was a lot heavier than she predicted. She could hear it from Murtaugh’s office, but didn’t realize how aggressive it was outside.
“Come on.” Rowan tugged her hand. “My weather app says it can rain the whole day.“
Aelin sprinted in the rain towards his car, feeling her clothes progressively clinging onto her skin as the rain soaked her wet. Even then, Rowan followed her to open the passage door, running to the driver’s side only after she was inside and safe from Doranelle’s weather.
She tugged on Rowan’s hair and squeezed it to dry a little. “You shouldn’t have done that,” she mentioned his completely unnecessary act of chivalry. She could open her own door, especially in this pouring rain. Despite her own words, Aelin tried and failed to hide a silly smile.
Rowan just grinned and shook his head like a dog, sprinkling droplets of water across the car.
He turned the GPS on and started the drive back, but Aelin was wondering how long it’d take.
After leaving the city, Aelin and Rowan started on a road. A lot later, they entered a smaller road. After that, they entered something that was barely a road. The rural school she’d be collecting data on was a little after that. That’s how long their drive was about to be. Especially now, that Rowan was driving slower to be careful.
”Aelin, I—“ Rowan was squinting his eyes at the road before him. “I can’t see anything. Can you find somewhere we can pull over until the weather gets better?”
Which will take a long time to happen were the words he didn’t say.
When Aelin checked the map, she felt her muscles tighten. “There’s a hotel. It’s the closest place.”
Rowan nodded and asked for her to add it to the GPS on his car. If he had any thoughts or feelings about this, he didn’t show. It was late afternoon already, so it made sense to choose a hotel.
Trees blurring together as they passed by. The soft sound of her playlist, partially muffled by the rain. The car’s AC brushing against Aelin’s skin, giving her goosebumps. Because that was the reason this was happening, right? She had been planning to get together with Rowan, but there was no way staying with him at a hotel would make her limbs tingle like this, so fast after they reconnected.
He dropped her at the front door and went to park the car. The hotel looked nice enough, displaying simple, but comfortable-looking furniture and decorated with plastic kingsflower bouquets. They took her back to Rowan’s old garden, and the remainder of one of Aelin’s favorite childhood memories brought a smile to her face.
There were other people in the lobby who probably had the same idea as them, but she only stood in line at the front desk for a few minutes.
“I’d like to do a check-in.”
The woman nodded, but didn’t do so much as look at Aelin. “How many people, dear?”
“Two.”
She typed on her computer, nodding. “How many rooms?”
Aelin opened her mouth, then closed. She glanced at the fake bouquet of kingsflower, feeling her heartbeat in her throat.
“Just one room.”
The woman just chewed her gum harder as she typed more, but Aelin could barely breathe as she lied her way into Rowan’s bed.
Her gaze quickly swept the room until she found him leaning against a pillar while holding a bag. He gave her a small nod, and Aelin hoped the smile she gave him looked natural.
“There was only one bed,” Aelin blurted as soon as she approached him.
He blinked. “What?”
“Room,” she corrected herself and showed the key dangling from her finger. “There was only one room available.”
“Oh.” Rowan looked around, and his frown morphed into an eyebrow raise she couldn’t quite decipher. “Alright.”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “You sure?”
“Yeah.” Rowan shrugged and guided her towards the room by placing a hand on her waist. Aelin hoped he didn’t notice the way she shivered. He continued, “Besides, there’s nothing we can do, right? There’s only one room, you said yourself.”
Their room was small, but it looked cozy with its white walls and wooden window. The rain was still pouring outside, but now it was more like a soothing background noise than a nuisance.
“Take this.” Rowan handed her some fresh clothes as he searched for something in his bag. “I think this is the only change of clothes I have, but you can take it.”
“Where did you take this from?”
It was a neatly folded green t-shirt and a pair of soft jeans. It smelled so fresh and detergent-like that Aelin sighed against it. Rowan was studying her, a small smile on his face. Shit. Did Aelin just smell his clothes in front of him?
“Sometimes I need to shower at the gym. Keeping a change of clothes in the car comes in handy.”
Nodding, Aelin unfolded Rowan’s gigantic shirt. It was very easy to picture him having to shower at the gym after spending too much time there, and just thinking of him like that made her blood boil.
“This shirt is bigger than some dresses I have. I can take this, and you’ll take the pants.”
Taking the bathroom first, she frowned at herself in the mirror. Aelin was covered until mid-thigh, which was alright, but damp hair and faded makeup weren’t her best look. Cleaning smudges of mascara from under her eyes with toilet paper was the best she could do to look fresh, though.
Rowan was sitting on the side of the bed, head tilted up as he supported himself with the heels of his hands. He was wearing nothing but jeans and the ridges and valleys of his abs.
Did her knees just get weak?
The air between them was taut as Rowan’s gaze kept darting between Aelin’s face and her—mostly—bare legs, almost as if he was fighting his eyes to stay up. She hasn’t been near as discreet about ogling him.
Aelin strolled his way and bumped their knees together, eyes somewhere between shy and mischievous.
Rowan toyed with the hem of the shirt she was wearing and tilted his head up to look her in the eye. “You’re quite the sight in my Levi’s, did you know that?”
“No, I didn’t.” Aelin playfully flipped her hair and sat beside Rowan on the bed. “Please, tell me all about that.”
Rowan chuckled and wrapped a towel around her shoulders so the shirt wouldn’t get damp by her hair, caressing it on his way.
“I didn’t know a lot when I was a kid, Aelin, but I knew you’re the most gorgeous girl I’d ever seen. That didn’t change over time.”
“Really?” Aelin felt like her whole body was melting, and Rowan’s pining gaze was the only thing keeping her upright.
“Fireheart,” he whispered her name like it was his only possible answer and caressed her hair until his thumb reached her cheek.
She let out a short, soft chuckle. “Buzzard.”
Aelin hadn’t called him that in years, and the way his eyes lit up told her he noticed that too.
His shaky thumb brushed her bottom lip in one careful motion. “Is this okay?”
Aelin’s nod was almost imperceptible, but it was enough for him to tug her closer and meet her halfway, closing their distance.
Their kiss wasn’t each other’s first like they had planned, but right now it felt like the only one that mattered. Rowan’s lips felt so soft to the touch as they made their way between hers, and she felt her insides fluttering as he tilted her head to deepen the kiss.
But then it mixed with a tight feeling in the back of her throat as Rowan flicked his tongue against hers, and Aelin couldn’t stop wondering if this kiss would even happen if she hadn’t schemed and manipulated her way into it. Her body got more stiff each time he caressed her.
Aelin broke the kiss and lowered her gaze, not looking him in the eye.
“There was more than one room available. I lied to you.”
“Oh.” He blinked. “Okay.”
Rowan trailed kisses down her neck, but Aelin still felt her chest tight.
She added some distance between them. “You don’t understand. I could’ve booked two rooms, but I didn’t. Just like I forgot my lipstick in your car on purpose.”
“Aelin…” Rowan sat back on the bed to talk. His hand grasped hers, and his eyes had nothing but amusement as he looked deep into hers. “I knew it wasn’t the last room because other people checked in after us. And leaving things in my car is the oldest trick in the book.”
Aelin opened her mouth to retort, but he beat her to it. “I also saw you’re not in the official list of students at Dr. Lochan’s class.” He squeezed her hand, biting his lip as an attempt to not laugh. “And I’m a psychologist, Aelin, of course I’d notice you were conditioning me to text you at the same time every day.”
She stepped back, mouth falling open. “You knew it the entire time?”
Rowan nodded, still clamping his lips together as if this was the funniest thing. For Mala’s sake, Aelin thought she was being so smooth.
She gave him a tentative, awkward grin. “And you’re not mad?”
“No.” His mouth opened into a smirk. “Actually, I thought it was a little endearing.” Tugging her closer, he continued in a soft tone, “You didn’t have to do all that, though.”
When Rowan kissed her again, it felt right. He gripped the back of her hair with one hand and her waist with the other, but her whole body tingled and shivered as he held her. Aelin fully melted into his touch this time, feeling all the butterflies in her stomach as they explored each other in a bruising kiss.
He rested their foreheads together, breathless as she’d never seen him. “But if you want to make up for lying to me, we could get back together.”
“Alright.” She chuckled and pecked him, but he took advantage and bit her bottom lip. “I thought you’d want to start casual.”
“I don’t know, Aelin.” Rowan tilted his head sideways and frowned, pretending to look thoughtful. “I *did* tell my entire family, when I was eight, that you’re my future wife. Agreeing to be casual would be a huge setback.”
“Okay,” Aelin chirped, adjusting herself in his lap. “So you’re telling me my master mind and scheming abilities brought us together?”
He snorted. “I was ready to woo you, but I guess chivalry is really dead.”
Something struck Rowan, making him disentangle himself from her. He paused, analyzing his still wet shirt, but wore it anyway. “Wait here.”
Aelin frowned at the ajar door he had just left open. What the fuck had just happened? Did Rowan really leave right after they got back together?
It was a matter of seconds before he returned, though. Aelin felt the fuzziest feeling as her face morphed into a beam.
He had one single kingsflower in his hand, which had definitely been stolen from the lobby.
“I wish I was an octopus, that way I could give you seven flowers.”
Aelin cracked a surprised laughter, her pulse fast. “You mean eight.”
Rowan shook his head, grinning as well. “I‘d still need one to hold your hand.”
LATER THAT WEEK
“Are you going to tell me why I had to deny your own daughter’s application?”
Holding his glass, Rhoe pointed to the very expensive bottle of whiskey he gave Murtaugh, which they were sipping right now in his living room. “Isn’t that reason enough?”
His friend smirked. “Bullshit.”
Rhoe smiled at his glass. This wasn’t the easiest thing to confess, but he regretted nothing.
“I hate it when people say love works by faith alone. Do you know how hard it was for an average guy like me to pull Evalin?”
Murtaugh’s mouth was ajar as he processed this. “What are you trying to tell me?”
“Sometimes people need a little push. Especially couples.”
His friend’s eyes widened. “Your daughter and that boy. You were playing cupid, weren’t you?”
“Not cupid, no. That’s too manipulative.” Rhoe twirled his glass, smirking and thinking of a poetic way to put it. “I’m the wind in their free-flowing sails.”
He was used to making little things like putting his students to do assignments together on purpose when he thought they were a good match, but this one was personal.
Rhoe still remembered years ago, when his family moved to the big city because of his job, and he had to witness his little girl crying because she had just been separated from her so-called boyfriend.
A decade and a half later, the memory still broke his heart. The moment Rhoe saw Rowan at the psychology building, he knew this was his chance to fix what he broke.
“Why are you telling me all this?”
Rhoe shrugged. “This is the first time I felt the need to confess.”
Murtaugh chuckled and sipped more whiskey. “How long have you been scheming like a criminal?”
“Not like that!” Rhoe protested in mock offense.
“Okay, I already know what you’re going to say.” Murtaugh waved him off and raised an eyebrow, as if daring Rhoe to disagree. “You’re only cryptic and machiavellian because you care.”

Special Moments
Rory Culkin x Reader
Warnings: None just fluff
Words: 1kish
Master List
AN: I love fluff. I always forget that. I hope you enjoy.
"Please." You plead with a cute pout, snuggling into Rory's neck with your nose. "Pretty please. One more time." You shift your weight on the piano bench, feeling his arm around your waist. He thinks you're just teasing, but you really want to learn. "My fingers are traitors. They won't listen to me."
He gives you a tender smile, rubbing your back soothingly. "Just relax, okay? You're doing great." He says, his voice is warm and supportive. You feel a blush spreading over your face as he wraps his arms around you, guiding your hands to the piano keys. "This one goes here and that one…here. See? You just have to skip this key and go to the next one." He points to the keys with his finger, then presses them with yours. "There you go. Now try it a few times, get the rhythm of it."
He smiles at you, his eyes full of love and admiration. He loves teaching you new things, especially when they involve music. He watches your face intently, seeing the concentration and curiosity in your expression. “Amazing," He whispers, kissing your temple. “Now, move your hand to the left, two keys over, same position.” He guides your fingers gently, feeling the warmth of your skin.
You hear the melody come out smoothly, and you can’t help but grin. You pull your hands back and clap excitedly.
You feel a burst of happiness as you exclaim, “I did it!” You look over at him, glowing with pride, and his eyes sparkle with joy. “You did!” He cheers, clearly impressed.
You can’t help but tease him, “Better watch out. I’m gonna outshine you soon!”
His response is to lean in and give you a sweet kiss. “Keep practicing,” He advises, “You can take over the holiday piano playing at my mom’s.”
But you shake your head, feeling a little nervous. “No, I’m not ready for that.” You admit.
He grins at you, “Well then, do you wanna keep practicing, or are we done for the day?”
“I think my fingers need to rest. They aren’t used to stretching in all of these weird ways.” You say, rubbing your hands together. “Besides, it’s time for us to get ready for dinner. I don’t want to be late again. Your mom always gives us that look when we show up."
Rory shrugs, “I think everyone’s used to it.” He gets up from the bench, delicately lifting your chin with his finger, locking eyes with you; he plants a sweet kiss on your lips, "You can't speed up perfection." You hug him tightly around his neck, kissing him back.
"Mmm. I love that." You say, slowly opening your eyes.
Rory never ceases to amaze you with everything he does. Sure, your relationship has highs and lows, but you wouldn’t trade him for anyone else. He just gets you and understands you.
He bites his lip, hoping you won’t say no to his question, “Do you mind being ‘sick’? I kinda want to stay in tonight and cuddle with you.” He sighs, “My mom won’t take no for an answer unless one of us is on our deathbed.” He chuckles.
You smile at him, feeling touched by his request. You know how much he loves spending time with you and how hard it is to say no to his mom. You decide to go along with his plan and nod. “Okay,” You agree softly. “Let’s be sick.”
He hugs you tightly and kisses your cheek. “Thanks,” He says gratefully. “I don’t want to hurt her feelings and say, Sorry, Mom, I just want to hang out with my girlfriend instead.” He laughs, “She doesn’t get how crazy our schedules are.”
You nod, following him to the living room and plopping on the couch. “I get it. Honestly, I was going to ask you this morning, but I know it’s important for you to have your family outings.” You say, understanding his dilemma.
He grabs the remote from the coffee table and sits before you, leaning back and fluffing his hair onto your lap. He looks up at you with a mischievous smile.
“Did you want something?” You tease him back and say
“Maybe.”
You bend down and kiss his nose, making him grin.
He softly speaks, grabbing your hand and putting it on his scalp. “It's so relaxing when you play with my hair.” He says, batting his eyelashes at you. “Please?”
You nod, bringing your hands to his head, and softly brush through his curls with his fingers. You stop when your fingers get stuck in a knot. "Hold on." You fling your leg over him, sitting up and walking to the bathroom to find your brush and detangler.
You gently run the brush through his curls, smoothing out the tangles and making them shine. He closes his eyes and sighs, enjoying your touch.
“Much better.” You say, parting his hair down the middle and continuing to practice your braiding skills. “You’ll be so pretty when I’m done.” You tease, making him laugh.
“You’re braiding my hair? I’m gonna look ridiculous.” He says, shaking his head slightly.
“Don’t worry, it’s only me here, and I’ll still love you either way.” You remind him, kissing his cheek. “Besides, you look cute with braids. Like a Viking warrior.”
He opens his eyes and looks at you with a playful smile. “A Viking warrior, huh? Does that mean I get to pillage and plunder?” He asks, making himself laugh.
“Maybe, if you behave.” You say, smiling back. “Now, hold still; I’m almost done.” You finish the last braid and tie it with a rubber band. You admire your work and say proudly, “There. You look amazing.”
He turns around and faces you, his blue eyes sparkling with curiosity. He reaches up and touches his braids, feeling the texture. He grins and says, “You know what? I kind of like it. It makes me feel adventurous.”
“I’m glad you like it.” You scoot over on the couch, making room for him to sit.
“Thank you for making me feel special.” You smile and snuggle into his chest. You feel his heartbeat and sigh contentedly. You whisper back, “Thank you for being you.”
He leans down and kisses you a little rougher then intended, surprised you kiss him back, feeling the warmth of his mouth. When you break away from him, breathless, you say, "God, you're fucking perfect."

jacob teasing rory by not leaning down when she wants a kiss, but it just makes her so pouty and sad instead
Rory was standing in front of Jacob, her chin resting on his chest, looking up at him. One of his hands were resting on her hip, tracing patterns while the other one was caressing her face. Jacob knows what she wants, she just looks so cute standing there all pouty, he just wants to drag it out a little.
"I want a kiss," Rory finally says
"I want a lot of things, but I can't have them." Jacob replies
"But I can have a kiss." she argues
"Can you?" Jacob asks amused
Rory huffs, knowing he was referring to the fact that, physically she was too short to kiss him. Which means technically she can't.
"Are you mad at me?" she asks
"What, no, why?"
"You don't want to kiss me," she replies, sadness clear in her tone.
"I always wanna kiss you, sweetheart. I just think it's cute when you're all pouty when you don't get something you want." Jacob says, running his thumb over her bottom lip.
"Don't you like it better when I'm all happy cause you gave me exactly what I wanted?" she asks smiling up at him and Jacob grins, lowering his mouth to hers and kissing her long enough that when he pulls way her cheeks are flushed.
If there was one thing he liked more than seeing her pouty, it was seeing her blush.

Anonymous Asks: "hi! I know u did a breeding kink list for Jean, Bo, Joseph and Jack but can I ask for ur take on it for Ian, Nick, and Shaun pls? c:"
Oughhh I forgot I did this one... I'm also gonna do Rory and Barry to complete the set >:3c
Content: breeding kink (reader is still gender neutral, just has the required parts to get pregnant), yandere content, begging, pregnancy kink, noncon, forced pregnancy
Tumblr media
Ian:
"P-please I need to... n-need to fill you... I w-want you to have my baby..."
Ian's breeding kink comes from the need to prove you love each other and are both committed to each other
He's gentle yet frantic when he breeds you, clinging onto you and on the verge of tears as he begs for permission
He needs you to want it as much as he does. Please beg him to breed you, he needs to know you love him!
Nick:
"Fuck... you want it, baby? Want me to breed you? Go on, beg for it. Tell me how badly you need it."
Nick's breeding kink is half a desire to indulge your desires and half because he wants to see you pregnant with his child
He's slow and teasing about it, fucking into you with slow rolls of his hips as he makes you beg him to breed you
More than anything, he wants to make you happy. And if breeding you will do that, he's thrilled to oblige~
Shaun:
"Wanna have a baby with me? Wanna make me a daddy? Fuck, you're perfect..."
Shaun's breeding kink is half about wanting to be a father and half because he's also got a pregnancy kink
He's gentle about it, but in his own way. He'll hold you down with his full weight and slowly fuck his cum into you
He'll enjoy every minute of breeding you, and if it takes, he'll enjoy every minute of your pregnancy too!
Rory:
"You're going to look so good, all full of my child, sugar! I can't wait to see it~"
Rory has a major pregnancy kink. Seriously, he gets off from just imagining rubbing your baby bump
He's gentle about it, cradling you to his chest as he makes slow, sweet love to you, purring in your ear about breeding you
He can't stop talking about how excited he is for you two to have a baby. And he can't stop getting hard when he mentions it
Barry:
"What do you think? Is it time for me to put a baby in you? I think it might be..."
Barry's breeding kink mostly has to do with how much you don't want him to breed you
He'll be hard and rough about it, fucking into you while getting off on the way you cry and struggle and beg him not to cum inside
He wants nothing more than to watch you be forced to carry his child. And don't think you're getting pregnancy leave either...
