Buying a lakeside house in the mountains of Tahoe to get as far away from your now ex girlfriend and her motorcycle club wasn't easy, but you knew you had to do it. You needed a new start, a new life, a new beginning and as painful as it was, you knew you had to leave everybody you knew and loved behind. Your friends and close family members would never understand your reasonings to leave but it was better for everybody this way, at least that's what you thought.
You weren't even sure how you got to this point. At first, dating Yelena was like a dream and she made you feel so many things you had never felt before. Fast forward three years later and things weren't the same. You knew exactly what her role in her motorcycle club was, you knew exactly that things were never how they seemed, you knew the activities that went on behind the closed doors of the club. You were simply her old lady; you had a role to play. It was a lifestyle you grew to hate the more you knew about it.
So, you waited for Yelena to ride off with the others to the bigger clubhouse in Ohio before you packed your belongings and closing the door of what once was your shared home, not a single word to tell Yelena where you were going or why you were leaving, not even a note. That was seven months ago. Seven months ago, you left everything you knew behind, seven months ago since you spoke a single word to anybody you cared about, seven months ago since you left your heart behind.
You didn't make a name for yourself in your new hometown, you got a job at the local café; adopted a cat from the shelter and kept to yourself the best you could, isolating yourself from everybody around you. Only spoke when spoken too, only smiled when smiled too, only waved if waved too. It was hard to see any form of light at the end of the tunnel, you thought surely by now that Yelena would be worried or anybody for that matter, but you had to remind yourself why you left in the first place.
Seeing everybody around you look so happy and letting your mind run towards thoughts of how things might be if you weren't there anymore, you were convinced the happiness of those you loved and cared about wouldn't change and maybe that was where the idea to leave first came to mind.
Eventually you knew that you'd have to give Yelena answers for your decision. Every day you thought about the day you'd see her again, sometimes even thought about sending her a letter but would she even bother reading it? You weren't sure how she was feeling or if she even cared that you had left. That day came one Wednesday afternoon, shortly after you had finished dinner you heard the loud roaring sound of a Harley Davidson rolling up the dirt road of your driveaway. Your heart sunk to your stomach when you stepped onto your front porch and watched the blonde park her bike and remove her helmet.
"You've done well for yourself" she said as she walked up the four stairs of your front porch with a hint of pain in her voice. You took a deep breath as she came closer, the smell of her perfume mixed with gasoline and cigarettes took you back to the last time you saw her. Just looking into her eyes, you knew she was hiding the hurt you caused.
"How'd you find me?" You asked, your arms crossed over your stomach.
"It wasn't easy, but I had Darcy run your old credit card details, found you purchased a place here before you cancelled the card" she replied with a slight frown in her brows. "So, are you going to let me in?" She asked. You nodded and moved aside to allow her to enter your home first.
She took her time walking down the short hall to the opened living era, she noticed how the walls remained plain, not a single photo frame in sight. The silence was awkward, you were sure what to say but you knew by her body language that Yelena had a lot she wanted to say and all you could thing of was offering her a beer.
"Do you want a beer?" You asked, watching as she pulled a chair out from the dining table and making herself at home. She only nodded in reply and waited for you to crack open a cold beer for her.
"Why are you scared?" She asked before sipping her drink, "you're the one who left me without as much as a note!" She added, letting her anger fill her words.
"I couldn't leave you a note, you know that" you replied without thinking it through.
"What's that's supposed to mean?" Yelena frowned.
"Oh, come on, do you really think if I left the more traditional way that you would've let me?"
"Don't give me that shit, nobody was holding a gun to your head!" Yelena snapped; her eyes full of build up rage from her unanswered questions. Sure, she's raised her voice at you before whenever the two of you had gotten into an argument, but this felt different.
"Yelena, don't turn this back on me! I left for my own good! I needed too, it was what was best for me" you shot back, remembering the reasons you left.
"What was best for you? Y/n, you never even spoke to me about any of this! I never knew you wanted to leave! How the fuck did you think I felt huh?" Yelena's eyes searched yours for questions she was yet to ask but she couldn't see past her anger to see the real issue.
"How long did it even take you to realise I was gone?" You asked her bluntly causing her to sit back in her seat, the room filling with silence once again. "It's been seven months Yelena, so tell me!" You added. The silence answering one of your own questions.
"I tho-thought you went to visit your grandparents for a while" the biker eventually replied, "I wasn't sure when you left, fuck, I was gone for two weeks on that trip! But when your number was disconnected, I knew you left me" she added before leaning slightly forward, "what happened to us? Why did you leave?" she asked. Her tone was calm, but the pain was still there and for a moment, you lost yourself in her eyes like you always did.
"Because you left me long before I left" you admitted with tears filling your eyes. "You used to come home to me Yelena, you used to call me to tell me you were okay but then you just stopped. The club became more important, you started risking your life for stupid reasons and the parties? You didn't even look twice at me anymore. That club is your family, and I became your old lady, the one who did your dirty laundry and made you dinner incase you'd come home" you added, letting the stream of tears roll down your face.
Naturally, Yelena reached for your hands, wishing she had seen the signs before it was too late. "Detka" she spoke softly, the pet name bringing you a sense of comfort like it always did, "why didn't you say something?" She asked.
"It wouldn't have made a difference Lena, you forgot about me, just like everybody else did. For months I blamed myself, maybe I wasn't good enough, maybe if I involved myself into the club more or maybe if I was more like the other women that things would've been different. I was scared to leave, I know what you and the others do, I know it's not legal…I was scared that if I left you would've made sure I never left again" your words opened Yelena's mind to her behavior, and she hated herself for putting you through this. "I had to leave" you added.
Yelena shook her head in disbelief at the words that left your lips, "are you really telling me that you were scared of me?" she asked, her tone stern to hide the hurt that your feelings had on her. You hated to admit it but you nodded, "can you blame me? You've changed Lena. Ever since Nat stepped back from the club and gave you more responsibilities, you've become distance, cold and yeah, I'm scared" you paused, letting your eyes drop, "I don't know what else to tell you" you added.
After taking a mouthful of her beer and swallowing harshly, Yelena rose from her chair, "Well, I guess that's all I need to know" she replied with another shake of her head before making her way to the front door. You frowned slightly at her actions before following her, "That's it?" you asked, stopping her from taking another step. Yelena stopped and turned slightly to look at you over her shoulder, not enough to make eye contact.
"There isn't anything to say, you're scared of me and you left without wanting to even leave me a clue to as why. You did this for yourself, you made this new life for yourself. I'm not going to convince you to come back to me, not when you've just admitted that you're scared of me" she paused and turned fully to face you, "I would never, ever put a hand on you or put in any form of danger" she added, a tear rolling down her cheek.
Maybe you were wrong to leave, maybe you stupidly let your overthinking thoughts get the better of you. You hated to see Yelena look so defeated but for some reason you weren't sure why, you couldn't say a single word in reply. You just watched as she walked out the door and down the stairs before turning to look back at you once more, "I'm sorry you felt that way. I hope you whatever you do, you enjoy it and are happy" she spoke before walking towards her motorcycle.
You broke, tears filled your eyes as you heard her start up her motorbike one last time, revving it a few times before she took off down the driveway, hearing the distance roaring of her bike leaving you behind just like she did seven months ago.
A part of you left with her that day, a part of you that you wished stayed but you knew that your heart would always belong to Yelena, together or not.

I’ve got my eye on you, Valentine! 💘
Pairing: General!Scarecrow x F!Reader
I’m super late for Valentines Day (I’m on vacation cut me some slack) but o finally finished this. Some characters may feel a little bit ooc and the pacing may be a little fast, but I tried my best I hope you guys like this.
Rating : General Audience. A little bit of angst, but mostly fluff.
For most of his life, Jonathan hated Valentine's Day.
He remembered the time at school when the day finally came and all the kids were exchanging cards, but Jonathan only found his box empty. Worse were the few times when he actually received a letter and there was that temporary feeling of happiness, only to later discover that it was all a cruel joke from his classmates.
Who in their right mind would have a crush on Jonathan Crane? The lanky, weird boy who always wore patched clothes and had his face buried in books.
Over the years, the date stopped being terrifying and became just annoying. Jonathan couldn't help but roll his eyes when he noticed that stores hanging up the pink and red decorations, how couples seemed even more clingy in public and the chubby image of the Cupid with his little bow was everywhere he looked.
Deep down, there was still that disappointment, the loneliness that seemed to follow him wherever he went, but he tried to cover up any silly feelings with his work and studies. He didn't have time for romance. He didn't need the chocolates or teddy bears or stupid cards.
And that was why Jonathan felt in a bad mood today.
"Valentine's Day. February 14th. Day to celebrate the martyr Saint Valentin.” Calendar Man whispers to himself as the Arkham staff handed out colored paper and blunt scissors to the patients.
For some reason they thought it was a constructive activity to make Valentine's Day cards. Nonsense. Nobody was interested in this stupid holiday. Well, except Harley who seemed to squirm in her seat with excitement.
Jonathan stares at you from across the room. You looked concentrated, your tongue tucked between your lips as you took the red paper and cut it into the shape of a heart. Your eyes meet for a second and you smile sweetly at him before Jonathan looks away.
You were a relatively new piece in Gotham's criminal world, but you had already done enough noise to be sent to Arkham by the Batman.
You and Jonathan got along well, you could even say you were friends, but nothing more than that. You seemed to actually pay attention to his lectures about fear and the human brain and he liked listening to you talk as well.
Maybe he could do something for you. You were kind after all. And funny, your laugh never failed to bring a smile to his lips. And smart. And beautiful. And…
Jonathan shakes his head. God, the doctors were right about him finally going crazy. You would never accept anything he gave you. Jonathan had always been the weird kid and that hadn't changed.
“Out of ideas, Jon?” Edward asks as he spies over Jonathan’s shoulder.
“No,” he says without looking at him. "I won’t do anything."
“Oh my friend, don’t be so grumpy,” Tetch says, cutting out several paper bunnies holding hands. “Would you like us to make a card for you?”
“No,” he says again, crossing his arms. “I don’t want anything from either of you.”
Edward follows his vision to you, a mischievous grin on his face. “Let me guess, you’re embarrassed to send her a Valentine’s card, aren’t you?”
Jonathan feels like he was back to his school days. Not exactly, since he didn't have any friends back then, but Edward was like an annoying friend pressuring Jonathan to confess to his crush.
“Don't say nonsense, Edward. I’m not in the mood for your jokes.”
Edward throws his head back in laughter. "Don’t be shy. You can tell us if you have a crush on someone. After all, we are your best friends, right, Jervis?”
Jervis at the moment seemed more interested in the paper hat he was making, so Edward decides not to wait for his answer.
“Come on, I can even help you,” Edward says, nudging him with his elbow. “Ok, write this down: What is a vampire’s sweetheart called? A ghoul-friend!”
Jonathan roll his eyes instantly. “That was terrible.”
“Trust me, women love riddles.” He winks, brushing his hair back.
“I won't take relationship advice from you, Edward.”
"What do you have to lose?"
“Let’s see…” he adjusts his glasses before starting to count on his fingers. “My dignity, my time, my patience…”
“You complicate things too much. Don’t tell me you’re scared.” The look Edward gives him is challenging, a smirk on his lips.
Jonathan opens his mouth to defend himself. Fear? He was the master of fear! He was the bogeyman that hid in the shadows. The nightmare of Gotham's citizens. But any complaints died on his tongue.
He stares at Edward full of venom before speaking again. “Pass me the damn crayon.”
Edward grabs a red crayon and hands it to Jonathan, still smiling smugly.
Jonathan curses under his breath as she folds a light pink sheet in half. The crayon stays in the air for a few seconds until he finds the right words and starts writing.
“Happy Valentine’s Day, from your friend Jonathan Crane.” He writes simply in his impeccable handwriting.
"Done. Satisfied?" He lifts the card into the air, showing it to Edward.
Edward wrinkles his nose. “This is so boring! It doesn’t even have hearts!”
“You're crossing the line, Edward.”
“Actually, he is right.” Tetch says in a moment of sudden clarity. “It’s a Valentine’s Day card, it should have lots and lots of hearts like mine!”
Tetch shows his card full of collages and details dedicated to his beloved and unreachable Alice.
Jonathan rolls his eyes again and sighs in defeat. He decides to add a small heart in the corner of the page, discreet enough that you might not notice it.
“Good enough,” Edward pats his shoulder before leaning back against his chair, looking pleased with himself.
The rational decision would be to throw the card away, but something about it stops Jonathan from doing so. Another dark part of him has the desire to add more details. Spilling out all his feelings and secrets until every corner of the paper was filled with sweet, silly things. But he holds back, clutching the crayon in his hand.
When the time runs out and the cards start to be handed out, his chest tightens.
Edward and Tetch were kind enough to hand Jonathan cards, although Tetch wrote nonsensical rhymes and Edward’s had a riddle that he answered before Jonathan could finish reading.
Even if Jonathan didn't want to admit it, he was grateful for them. Edward and Jervis could be difficult and annoying, but they were the closest thing he had to friends. It was an unlikely partnership, but it worked. Sometimes.
The two of you are the last people in the room when you get up and start walking towards him. It's at this moment that Jonathan realizes how fast his heart is beating inside his chest. How sweaty his hands are and how dry his throat is. He knows these symptoms very well. Fear. He was afraid.
“Good afternoon, Dr. Crane.” Your tone is light, but the way you say “doctor” sends a shiver down Jonathan’s spine. He swallows hard, giving a small nod.
"Evening."
"What you got there?" You ask.
Jonathan fumbles for a second before realizing you're referring to the cards in his hand.
“Oh, Edward and Jervis did this for me.” He feels heat rise to his face. Was he actually blushing?
"Can I see?"
Jonathan doesn't answer, just hands you the cards. Your lips stretch into a smile as you read what Jervis and Edward wrote.
“I didn’t know these two could be so cute.” Your gaze turns to him again. “They must really like you.”
“Don't be fooled. They can be truly horrible when they want to.” Jonathan says in a somewhat playful tone and you chuckle.
“And from who it is this last one?” You gesture your head towards the card in his hand.
He squeezes the paper even tighter between his fingers. He could just lie. Forget about this silly Valentine's Day idea and tear that damn card into little pieces.
But the way you look at him, full of expectation, makes Jonathan's heart melt inside his chest.
“Well, it’s… for you.”
“Oh, good, because I made one for you too.”
He stares at you dumbfounded for a few seconds in silence.
"Really?" It's stupid, but he can't help but ask. He feels like a kid again, like at any moment the curtain will fall and everyone will laugh at him for believing anyone could ever like poor Jonathan.
“Of course it’s for you, silly. Who else would it be for?” You wink at him, handing him the card.
Jonathan takes it with trembling fingers, handing his to you as well. The paper feels like it will disappear from his hands at any moment, but it is so real, so tangible.
You glued some big and small hearts on the front with “Happy Valentine’s Day” written on the bottom in red ink. He rubs his thumb over your handwriting, trying to savor every detail. When he finally opens the card an unconscious smile spreads across his face. You had made a simple drawing of a crow holding an eye in it’s beak and on the side it said “I’ve got my eye on you, Valentine.”
"Did you like it?" Your voice pulls him back to reality.
“I… Yes, of course.” He clears his throat, trying to compose himself. “But I’m afraid mine isn’t as good as yours.”
And then he notices the way you are holding the card, pressed against your chest like something valuable.
"I loved it. Seriously. But I think you forgot a little something.”
“Sorry for the lack of details. I don’t have much practice with this.”
You shake your head, chuckling softly. "It's not that. You forgot to ask me if I want to be your Valentine.”
He waits for the the joke to sink in and for the moment you brush him off with a laugh, but you don’t stop staring at him with a serious expression.
He hates it. He hates it how exposed he feels. How bare his is before you. He hates even more how he hopes this not some kind of joke afte all.
“Stop playing with me.” He almost sounds like he's begging.
"This isn’t a joke."
"You can’t be serious."
You cross your arms, frowning your eyebrows at him. "Why not? Why is it so hard to believe that I want this?
“Oh, please. This is ridiculous. Is this some kind of prank? I have been the target of this kind of joke before and belive me when I say they aren’t funny.”
“Oh my God! You’re can be so dense sometimes!” You sigh in frustration, taking a deep breath before speaking again. “Well, if you're not going to ask me, then I will. Jonathan Crane would you like to be my Valentine?”
If he was blushing before, now his face is burning hot. His brain is a mess of emotions, but it’s unable to actually form any coherent words. He can’t even remember the last time he was speechless.
You’re staring at him and he knows he needs to say something. Anything! Jonathan could never forgive himself if he ever let you go without knowing how much you matter to him. So he decides to do the only thing he is capable of.
He approaches you slowly so as not to startle you, his eyes searching for any indication of discomfort, but you dont move a muscle. He leans towards you and when he's sure you want this, he presses his lips against your cheek.
The kiss is shy and quick, barely brushing your skin, but when Jonathan pulls away you're staring at him as if he'd placed the stars in the sky.
“Yes,” He finally manages to say, “I would like to be your valentine.”
Before you can say anything, a guard appears in the room, interrupting your intimate moment.
“What are you two still doing here? You should be in group therapy. Come on, move before you get in trouble!" The guard orders.
In any other situation Jonathan would be annoyed, but now he just does what the guard says, pulling you out of the room with him.
The two of you sit silently side by side on the chairs positioned in a circle with the other patients. Jonathan knows someone is babbling something in the background, but all he can focus on right now is how your knee is touching his.
Jonathan catches you staring at him, your lips stretched into the sweetest smile he's ever seen and he can't help but smile too.
This may be the best Valentine’s Day he had in a long time.

Its sooo upsetting that jade never got her happy ending, she never got her chance to heal. Not where we could see, anyway.
Disregarding the game over timeline, disregarding 3 years of her being in a ship with John and Davesprite and Nana and Jasper— disregarding that and moving to the ending timeline, the one that made it to the end, Jade Harley starts the game, because it’ll make her friends happy. Jade wasn’t going to play SBURB. It wasn’t something she had set her mind to. She wanted her friends to play, because Rose would see her dead cat which she loved, John would have fun, and Dave… well, he’d be with John and Rose. She didn’t really get all that much information from the clouds of Skaia.
She starts being bullied by the trolls much earlier than the other kids, and Karkat is much more ruthless. He’s mean. She plays the game, and she’s excited to see her brother wake up, and then she dies before she sees that happen. And she wakes up with the worst migraine of her life, and Feferi terrifies her, and everything’s happening all at once and she’s being blamed for a thousand things she simply didn’t have a say in. And her grandpas dead, her dog is gone, and she has doomed her friends.
She tells Rose her mom is dead. Would she blame herself for her turning grimdark? For being the reason her friend found her cat, but lost her mom?
She meets Dave— the first person she sees since she was small, and she kills him. And her dog, a part of him anyway, makes her do it. And this is after she learns that she is the reason her grandpa is dead, too. She killed him.
I know Jade doesn’t need a weapon because of how powerful she is. But I think, also, she wouldn’t have wanted to use her gun again.
Then she’s almost at her happy ending and her brother and her best friend (another version of him, but Dave nonetheless) die while on her watch. And for three years she blames herself. 3 years that she spends alone, again, in an isolation she thinks was created by herself. Again.
Then she gets to see people again, and she’s mind controles to hurt those people, and then she falls asleep and when she wakes up she is incredibly uselessly alone and there’s just a letter and another mission. And she goes to that mission, and she has to see her dog again, the reason she killed Dave, the guy who Doomed her timeline, who took her guardian away, who took Rose’s and Dave’s and John’s guardians away, her dog. There’s a nostalgia and an request from deep within her for some sort of reminder that her dog exists, or existed, within these creatures, a request to play again. And one of them hits her, and she falls, and she’s knocked out again.
Then… she gets a hug? She sees her brother again? What’s that matter with no dialogue? There is no real heaviness to her reunion as there was with Dave and dirk, or rose and Roxy, or John and Jane and Jake (and arguably, those three weren’t as heavy or as emotional or as meaningful as the strilondes). But Jade gets nothing. Nada.
She begins as a character foil, as the key, and ends as the character foil, discarded.

I can just imagine them facing against scarecrow and scarecrow being you know using his toxic fumes being fear, making boomerang remember that day so clearly and vividly and boomer gets so pissed he tackled scarecrow in the ground and starts beating him, beating him in like until he’s almost to death and Harley and Floyd has to like Get him off of him so he won’t kill scarecrow and Boomer is just screaming at scarecrow
 you fucker how dare you piece of shit you’re gonna die for that and Floyd and Harleys trying their best to keep boomer at bay because of that they have to ask for back up you can choose who they have asked for back up
Oh, and if you want, you can add some of your boomerflash
Also, you’re the best of making boomerflash head cannons and stories your apps your pieces are beautiful French kiss 💋
kisses!!! <33 thank ya, the brain rot feeds off them, so I'm happy with every little idea thrown my way.
---
In defense of Harley, she had no way to know that when Scarecrow decided to test his "new" gas on them (in a safe space, after he got "recruited" too), apparently this one showing off old fears instead of creating new ones, whatever that meant, Boomer would be hit with something... like that.
Through most of the experiment, few chosen heroes around them to help if needed, Digger was the only "normal" one. He stood still, almost peacefully, if you ignored the shaking hands and short breaths. Maybe it was the fact that they knew it's all a hallucination, maybe it was the fact that the person responsible was right next to them, but when it all finally broke away, when most started trying to get some water and calm themselves with help, the first thing he did was jump Jonathan.
The first hit wasn't the thing that broke the shock of heroes and others around them - it was the sound of a breaking bone that did it. A pain-filled whine left Scarecrow, when he tried to use his claw-like gloves to tear the Australian away, his whole body mass keeping them down, while he punched almost blindly. He was angrily half screaming, half mumbling something about Owen, whom Harley herself didn't know exactly.
But Flash, who was the first one to try to hold Digger back, definitely knew. Most people who aren't dragging Crane away to make sure he'll survive probably notice the way his eyes go wide at the suffering screams that slowly turn into whispers full of bitterness. His hands, now bloody from the scientist, shaking rapidly and trying to hold onto something - failing to do so. Barry has his arms intertwined with the Rouge's elbows, holding him behind while clinging to him and trying to calm him down.
But when he does get calm, it doesn't mean his brain is fully caught up with what happened exactly, so all they hear now, less shaky and unfocused, are the words of horrid truth that Boomer saw.
"...How could they do that? They took my boy-" this time only a few people freeze, Flash now slowly working his way to the ground with trembling Boomer in his arms. "They took my boy, he was only eight-! How could they? What did he do to deserve it?"
Floyd, water bottle in hand, gets closer to the man, brushing his wet from sweat hair up, showing his blurry green eyes clearer. Shark looks angrily at the bloodied up scientist for a second, a protective urge firing deep inside, before he gets on the floor next to the two, touching Digger without grabbing him, being more something to rest up on than anything.
And when he continues, this time words just... giving up, changing between sobs and empty anger, Harley joins up. She walks straight at him, until she's right in front of him, her shoes almost touching his. Steadily, she sits down right there, looks her friend in the eyes and waits for him to ground himself, doing her best to ignore the hurt sounds coming from him and the few words that crawl their way out of his closed up throat.
"...He was so small, y'know? His body was so light-" a sob shook him, making Barry change his hold, from holding him back to just having his arms around him and his head rest on his back. "They took him from my arms to check for pulse, but- but they didn't have to take him to the hospital - too late, they said. Too much blood, he stopped breathing fifteen minutes before their arrival. I couldn't get his blood out of my hands, it's still stuck under my nails- I need to, I need to wash my hands-"
Another attack of weeping stops him, while all they do is be here, for now. Somewhere in the back, the rest of the heroes takes care of Crane and talks to Flag, who has a grimace on his face and a glint of understanding in his eyes - it probably was in Boomer's files, knowing how they like to have all possible information. Doesn't make it less dehumanizing.

Happier [edited] (Happy Lowman)

note: based on the song by ed sheeran
(ok so, basically, it's long but it's angst any mistakes I have made, were all translated by google)
note 2: leave a comment if you would like other stories, maybe i'll write more!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
From that distance the lights in the house looked different, Happy for a few moments thought that maybe he was at the wrong address.
But through the open curtain, which would rarely happen to him at home, it was possible to see Y/N.
And it was in those moments, seeing her smile with someone else, totally relaxed, that he remembered.
He was no longer welcome there.
Suddenly, he felt in the pocket of his jeans, the small cell phone vibrate.
- Hello?
- Where are you? We have a meeting now - said Juice, on the other side of the phone - You left more than an hour ago...
- I'm on my way...
The bald man hung up before there were any more questions, which everyone already knew the answer to.
As he put on his helmet and looked for the last time to find the woman with whom he had decided to spend the last three years, Happy sighed.
Inside, Y/N heard from afar, almost like a thought the sound of the engine of the old Harley. She knew which motorcycle, exactly, made that noise. There were many mornings and dawns woken up by the same sound.
But she just ignored it, it was what she had been doing for over a month, and what she promised herself to keep doing.
.
Before...
1:19 in the morning. Or was it 3:45? Y/N couldn't see, her consciousness didn't follow her body.
But it was automatic, following the sounds of the bike down the street, closer and closer, her feet guiding her out of bed as if it had a life of its own.
She yawned and grabbed a black sweatshirt from the chair next to the computer.
The sound at the entrance to the second floor alerted her.
Then she stopped.
Happy never knocked on the door, he had a key, and even without, he would enter through the back door of the house.
Another knock.
Y/N turned from the hallway back to the dark room, her body shivering involuntarily.
Another knock, and another, and another after that.
Her heart raced, for sure, she thought, it wasn't Happy.
The moment of silence lasted a few minutes, long enough for Y/N to lock herself in the bathroom with her cell phone in her hand, her boyfriend's number already calling on the line.
- Pick up, pick up...
The front door slammed so hard against the wall that the whole house shook.
.
The old Teller-Morrow mechanic's shop, which was also home to the Sons of Anarchy motorcycle group, was packed.
There were more motorcycles at that time than cars on an average day.
The loud music announced a party.
Happy parked his motorcycle next to his friends, one next to the other, they had just arrived from a trip of almost a week away.
- Good to see everyone is well - Gemma, the matriarch of the family welcomed everyone.
In the back of the bar there were dormitories for almost everyone who worked there; many stayed there for days or even months.
Once inside the room, Happy threw his backpack on the bed and taking off his clothes, hurriedly stepped into the cold water of the shower. All he wanted was to get rid of all the dirt and go home, where he knew he would be at peace with Y/N.
It had been three years since they had been together, they had met at one of the parties at the place, she accompanying a friend.
Happy couldn't take his eyes off the woman, they talked all night and he became more fascinated by the second.
He had never felt so happy and at peace.
- Happy, they're calling you out front - the voice of one of the club's prospect rang out from inside the room.
- I'll be right out.
A few minutes later, wearing his usual leather vest, Happy joined the party.
- Is your cell phone around here? I can't find mine...- Happy asked Juice.
- I don't know man, here, grab a beer... - the other bald one said, surrounded by women, smiling.
Happy took the bottle and open.
- I need to go home...
- What are you talking about? - Tig, almost drunk, laughed - We just got here, don't ruin the party.
- Don't start, man...
- I'm serious, since we left the city you've been worrying more than necessary... - Tig hugged his friend sideways, pushing him back inside - Come on, enjoy a little, you'll be back home soon.
Following the advice of friends, Happy allowed himself to enjoy the party and ended up forgetting both the cell phone he was looking for and the hours that passed.
.
- Damn it, Happy, where are you? Please pick up - the woman pleaded against the cell phone, warning a full message box - Please...
- Happy, please help me... - she spoke for the last time into her cell phone, before the door opened with force and two men came in.
In all these years of dating, she had learned a few things about her partner. Happy did things that she knew were wrong, carried as bad a reputation as possible, and had some enemies, so to speak.
- Where's that boyfriend of yours?
The men shouted, there were two more at the bedroom door.
They soon caught her, who was struggling to get out of there, took her to her room, throwing her on the bed.
- Who are you? I don't know what you are talking about...
- Where's Happy, girl? - the taller one pulled her hair so that her face was higher
- Where is he?
- I don't know - she cried softly
- I guess he didn't mind leaving you alone...
Out of the corner of his eye, Y/N noticed that the other three men were breaking every single thing they could find around the room.
- What do you want? There's money in the closet, please don't hurt me - she tugged on her sweatshirt to protect her legs, which were covered only by shorts.
The man holding her face laughed, a sound that turned her stomach.
- We don't want any of that shit, we want you to just pass the message on to those idiots...
- What mes...? - Before the sentence could be completed Y/N felt something cold in her head and closed her eyes tightly. A gun.
Suddenly, she felt pressure on her arm.
It can't be, not like that! She cried, it couldn't end like this.
- Get up! - Another man, one with a hood, was now pulling her out of the room.
They followed her down the stairs, room after room destroyed, practically nothing left.
- Sit down. - He forced her into the dining chair and tied a cloth to her mouth and hands.
Y/N waited for that to be the end of her, her body was trembling and she could no longer see the faces of those men properly, either out of fear or the tears that formed non-stop. She had never felt such panic.
Something hit her head from behind, then she couldn't hear anything else and her vision went dark...
.
It was morning when Happy pulled his motorcycle into the garage. The sun was burning his skin and his head felt like it was exploding.
Surely he had overdone it last night.
Reaching in his pocket for his keys, he noticed the door ajar.
His head was empty now, no pain, no alcohol, just full focus.
- Y/N? - He called while pushing the door with the gun in his hands - Baby?
He looked in all directions hoping that it wasn't true, the house all overturned, broken.
He walked tensely into the dining room.
She was there, her head down. His breath caught in his throat. Happy ran to the woman and lifted her hair, the woman's normally flushed face was a little purple.
- Y/N, please wake up, - he released her from all restraints and held her in his lap on the floor.
- Did they do something to you, baby?
- Happy... I tried to call you - she spoke softly
- I'm sorry, I'm sorry - he said desperate - Who did this?
- I tried to call you... - Y/N cried - Where were you?
Without strength she just cried and trembled in shock.
A few days after that night, Y/N left the house and left Happy. She didn't want anything to remind her of the horror she had been through, she just took her car and drove back to her own house.
Happy never stopped her or went after her.
.
Now...
It was Saturday night, Y/N was leaving a bar in downtown Charming accompanied by a friend and two men.
Across the street, far from her view, Happy watched intently. She should never have walked into the bar that night and should never have fallen in love with him.
He destroyed her, in the worst possible way, leaving her alone when she needed him most.
She was smiling more than ever, hugging one of the men.
- Let's go brother, you know she's fine... - Jax said pulling his friend - she looks happier...
Happy shook his head, not saying anything, knowing he was right. But he couldn't help but think that one day, he'd been happier that way with her too.
Okay so I got a little bit excited when I read your navigation so here I go with the request!
Can I get a DC request with Harley Quinn and her sidekick friends to lovers type of thing??? Like the reader used to study under Harleen Quinnzel to become a psychiatrist so the two of them were already pretty close and the reader really admires Harleen and wants to be just like her. But then the reader gets a front-row seat to the Joker turning the reader's idol into Harley Quinn and so because of how loyal and protective the reader is over Harley, the reader joins the clowns only for Harley's sake and becomes her sidekick that would only listen to Harley alone. The reader doesn't like being a villain and frequently tries to make Harley go back to her old self or suggest they become good guys instead and leave Joker forever so he wouldn't hurt her anymore. From that point on the two can have a falling out because of their different views, which results in the reader getting the boot out of the clown family. In the meantime, the reader tries to redeem themselves for the crimes they have committed and tries to become a hero. A long while passes until Harley finally realizes how much of a monster Joker was to her and runs away, having nowhere to go. But then the reader finds her, dressed as a hero, and approaches her removing their mask and revealing themselves to Harley. The two make up and start living together in the reader's apartment with Harley deciding to try out being a hero as well. During all of that Harley realizes that the reader has always been good to her and is her one true love, they both confess and become the most chaotic crime-fighting couple!
The reader can be whatever gender you want, though I prefer if they would either be gender-neutral or female. Also, if this whole thing was too cringe for you, feel free to delete it, I know I could've worded that all better but couldn't. Write it in whatever format you want, however you write it or do it, I will be happy with the finished product anyway! Feel free to tweak the idea or add some things in it if you want as well. Just have fun with it! Thank you if you decide to do this and good luck! ^^
Tumblr media
Thanks for the request, I’m sorry if it took awhile, but I loved the whole plot, sorta reminded me of ‘Harley Quinn’ on HBO Max. I also decided to make this a two part story just because i love the plot a little too much~ Enjoy.
Limelight pt. 1
Harleen Quinzel was the only person you seemed to mesh with. It all started when you first met her, her sarcasm seemed to match your own, thus came a new beginning for the both of you.
You worked under her wing, you were like a sidekick (if psychiatrists had side kicks of course). Everyday seemed to be a new learning experience, for you at least. She taught you everything you needed to know, and you—well you were just you.
Your arms were stacked with papers, your arms nearly folding under the weight as you carried on towards Harleen’s office.
She was sat in mere darkness, the only light that seemed to illuminate her office being the tiny desk lamp you bought her. With a huff you dropped the papers on her desk, breaking her concentration with the files she scanned through.
“That was totally necessary, and very generous.”
“You’re welcome, Dr. Quinzel.”
Her harsh stare towards you seem to break, a smile breaking across her face as she lifted her black framed glasses off, blinking like a robot before she spoke.
“Are these all for me?”
“Yes, a sweet gift from the warden.”
Harleen made a ‘tsk’ noise with her mouth, leaning back in her chair as she tossed her glasses on her desk. You decided to be the helpful person you were, shuffling papers around as you arranged them neatly. Your eyes seemed to buldge out the sockets as you picked up a paper, an infamous grin staring back at you.
“We finally got him?” Harleen looked up at you, snatching the paper out of your hand as she laughed humorously, dropping it onto her files. “Well if you consider Batman dropping him off at our doorstep last night ‘capturing’ him, then yes.”
Harleen seemed to notice the worried glint in your eyes, making her smile reassuringly at you as she stood from her spot, taking your hands in hers comfortingly. “This,” She started, gesturing around her office. “Will be you one day. You can’t let the bad guys intimidate you.”
You seemed conflicted, a child-like frown on your face as you crossed your arms. “I know that Harleen, but this is the freaking Joker we’re talking about.” She seemed amused, trying her best to stop her forming smile as she joked. “Yes, it is the Joker, but he’s just as crazy as the rest, maybe even crazier.”
You became silent, causing her to become silent for a moment. You shifted in your spot anxiously before she grabbed her office keys from her desk, as well as a few other items. “Wanna go for a little walk?” You contemplated, even though you knew she’d kick your ass out and drag you, so you mumbled a lame ‘sure’.
As you made your way through the Asylum, Harleen gave you a quick assessment of each notorious bad guy. To say you weren’t too keen about being in a room—alone might one add—with these bad guys would be an understatement.
“The riddler isn’t too bad.” Harleen spoke, breaking your stare from each of the cells that contained inmates. “He’s like the rest of us, just with a whole lot more problems, and annoying riddles.” You opened your mouth to speak, only to silence yourself as you came across the one person you weren’t delighted to see.
“Harleen, you said a walk, not an evaluation.” You whisper shouted, lingering behind her as she motioned for the guards to open the gates leading towards the Joker’s cell. He was sat on his bed, back towards the both of you as he fiddled with his straitjacket.
“Relax, you can stay out here, and I’ll be going in there.” You placed a protective hand on her shoulder as she began to walk towards his cell, stopping her in place as she glanced back at you.
“What if—what if he hurts you.” You mumbled lowly, physically tensing as the Joker turned around to look at the both of you, a careless grin on his face. “He won’t, I promise. Do I ever break promises?” You only shook your head, making her nod as she turned her back to you once again.
You watched silently as she conversed with the guards standing in front of his cell. Within a few seconds they opened his cell and let her in, shutting it behind her and leaving her all alone.
“A pretty nurse? All just for me, they’re too kind.” He joked, not even a trace of a smile on Harleen’s face as she pulled a chair up across from him.
“Joker, how are you feeling?” She spoke firmly, pressing the recorder on her tape recorder as she stowed it in her lab coat. He eyed her pocket, as if he could see the tape recorder, before he smiled widely.
“Well let’s see, I’m locked in a straitjacket, stowed away from rest, and I haven’t seen the sun all day today, I’m feeling perfect doc.” Harleen silently jotted a few things down, quickly glancing up at the Joker.
“Do you feel angry?” She questioned, his smile still etched on his face as he leaned forward, his teeth shinning at her mockingly. “Angry? I could never, besides I’ll be out of here in no time.”
“What makes you so sure?” The Joker seemed amused by her pressing tone, a cackle falling from his lips as he tried his best to move in his straitjacket. Harleen quickly stole a glance in your direction, catching sight of you, who seemed busy biting away at you nail as you were already staring back at her worriedly. She smiled at you.
“Oh my, a possible lover doc?” She turned back to the Joker who held a mocking smile. She only cleared her throat, ignoring his statement as she spoke.
“Can you answer my question Joker?” He pouted, booing loudly as he leaned against the glass box keeping him locked away. Harleen only stared at him, her stare never once holding fear, making him smile.
“Wanna know why I’m so sure,” He started, gazing back at a curious Harleen. “I’m so sure because one way or another, I’ll get help from the inside, or the outside.”
Harleen wrote silently on her paper, her glasses slipping slightly, causing her to push them up. “What makes you think anyone, in here at least, will help you?” The Joker seemed deep in thought, silence surrounding the two before he laughed.
His crazed laughter went on for minutes, before he leaned towards her, whispering softly, “Between me and you—Harleen, I’ll take my chances with you.” She seemed un-phased, quietly clicking her pen shut before she stood.
“I’ll be back in a few days to see you.” She was swift to stand ignoring his ear scratching laughter before making her way towards the cell entrance and exiting.
She smiled at your worry, silent as you continued to ask questions, even hugging her as you told her how unsafe it was to be alone with him of all people.
Weeks had passed since the Joker had been brought in. Your worries had been off the charts, especially for Harleen. She had seemed to grow a somewhat interest in him.
You believed it to be her caring side, watching from the sidelines as every other day, turned into every single day. With a troubled headset, you stepped into her office, greeting her weakly as she continued to work on her ‘Joker Analysis’ paper.
“Why are you always with the Joker?” You asked naively, watching the way her head snapped up as she looked at you with hooded eyes. “What do you mean?” She played innocent, in hopes you’d back off.
“It’s just, you’ve visited the Joker nearly everyday for the past week now.” Harleen seemed calm, quickly and silently stowing his file away as she stood. She paced for a bit, silence growing between the two of you before she spoke.
“I’m just curious about him, aren’t you? It’s not everyday you get the chance to figure out why the ‘clown prince’ is the way he is.” Your eyes were squinted as you stared at her curiously. You said nothing, only reaching for the files you left on her desk. Harleen seemed stumped, her mood now ruined due to your silence.
“Y/N, why don’t you just trust me?” You quickly turned back to her with a frown, your files clenched between your hand as you retaliated, “It’s not you I don’t trust Harley.” She shook her head, settling back down into her seat as she scoffed, an offended expression on her face as she spoke.
“I’m still Harleen, not Harley, not whatever he claims me as, just trust me Y/N.” You felt a part of you still, watching a defeated expression form on her face before you sighed, settling down across from her. You were being a terrible friend at the moment.
It wasn’t that you didn’t trust her, it was him you didn’t trust. He was a psycho, an infamous clown known for his heinous crimes. “Harleen, just—just promise me you won’t do anything you’ll regret.”
She smiled, a light laugh falling from her lips as she held her pinky finger out. You cracked a smile, wrapping your pinky finger around hers. “I promise.” With all your troubles swept under the rug, you spent the rest of the night working alongside her, up until you fell asleep.
Your head snapped up, papers falling towards the floor as a siren rung loudly throughout the asylum. The office was empty, no sign of Harleen as you stood, your vision slightly disoriented from sleep as you stumbled out her office.
You flinched harshly, gun shots ringing out as you made steps backwards, the sight of armed goons coming closer. You stumbled over your feet too many times to count. Stupid heels. With determined effort, you tried your best to find Harleen amidst the chaos.
Unknowingly, and quite stupidly might one add, you ran straight into the chaos. Multiple eyes locked on you, a pair you feared causing you to tense up. “What a surprise, just for good ole’ me?” Joker spoke with a cackle. You silently stood your ground, the tiniest of fear in your eyes as you glanced at his armed goons.
“Where’s Harleen?” The Joker acted confused at you statement, rubbing his gun alongside his head as he spoke, “Harleen? I don’t—oh you mean my good dear Harley.” He only laughed louder, motioning his goons to grab you and bring you closer.
You quickly tore away from his goons, only to land in Jokers arms as he pouted playfully at you. You squirmed fearfully, your voice still strong as you spoke, “Where is she?” He only laughed at you question, pointing towards a figure that was being hauled away unwillingly. Your stomach dropped, and in an instant you tried to chase after Harleen.
You were stopped by his goons who stepped in your path, looming over you with dirty grins as they pushed you backwards, right into the Joker. “Not so fast, I think you deserve front row seats my dear.” Your face was laced with confusion, a scream nearly falling from your lips as his thugs hauled you along.
Who knew sitting in a helicopter across from the Joker could be so awkward. Silence loomed over the helicopter, with the Joker telling unfunny jokes, and his stupid thugs laughing along. Where is Harleen? Seemed to be running in your mind on replay. Had he hurt her? Or worst of all, kill her?
You shivered in fear, glancing out the helicopter with a confused expression as you landed atop the ‘Gotham Chemical Plant’ building. You felt your heart jump out your chest at the sight of Harleen awaiting your arrival. Her clothes were torn and tattered, her makeup smudged and her hair a mess.
You were quick to exit the helicopter first, hugging Harleen in relief as you tried your best to inhale her natural scent. You both pulled away, her with a smile, and you with a worried expression. “Are you okay?”
She only nodded, gazing back at the looming figure behind you, causing you to turn and flinch at a grinning Joker. You opened your mouth to retaliate, only for you to choke on oxygen at the sight of Harleen kissing the Joker. You were stunned, absolutely stunned.
Your heart hurt, was it out of betrayal? Had she been planning this all along? You broke out of your mental dilemma just as they pulled away from one another. “Y/N, I know you’re probably confused, but—I love him.” You only frowned, disappointment for your close friend obvious.
The Joker only ignored you, dragging her along towards the chemical plant. You bit your lip, debating if you should follow or leave, and in the end you followed. Did your heart nearly fall out your chest as you followed them all the way to the top? Yes, it did.
Once at the top, you quickly looked down at the large chemical container, prompting you to back up immediately. Harleen was to busy ogling the Joker who seemed to be telling asking her a multitude of questions. Would he hurt her? You knew he was a violent criminal, but Harleen’s happiness seemed to be the only thing that mattered to you.
“Y/N my good friend, do you know why we’re here?”
You shook your head.
He grinned.
“My dear love Harley—Harleen.” You cut him off, a stare off between the two of you as he gripped Harleen gently. He laughed in defeat, tilting his head down as he nodded. “You’re right, my dear Harleen is here because I think it’s time for my love to be reborn.”
Your brows furrowed at his statement. As if a light switch flipped in your head, you were a second too late. As you reached for Harleen, he pushed her over the edge. Her arms were spread, as if embracing her demise as she fell into the chemical bath. You looked down, tears in your eyes before you turned to the Joker, pointing angrily at him.
“Save her, or I’ll kill you myself.” He laughed at your statement, his hand quick to grip your hair, making you help as he spoke. “You couldn’t even kill me if you tried.” You felt your heart crumble to pieces as you sunk to the floor, silent tears streaming down your cheeks.
She was gone.
Harleen Quinzel was gone.
Mamma Harley Arc AU:
Nora: So… You use a giant hammer?
Harley: Yeah.
Nora: And you like it when things blow up?
Harley: Uh-Doy!
Nora: … Can you be my mom?
Nora laid back on the comfy couch. Beacon's Headmaster, Ozpin, was kind enough to allow Harley the room while performing what liked to call "on the spot therapy". This was common in her wilder years, usually in the back of a squad car after a failed heist. Criminal psychology was her bread and butter, but you had to learn the others to get a full course meal out of your work.
"Now, lay back, relax, an' tell doctah' Harley all ya poblems." She clicked her pen. "Let's start with ya childhood. As far back as you can remember."
"Well, I grew up in a small village in Mistral." Nora began. "It was just me and my mom, and we didn't have anything. We might as well have been homeless, even if we had a roof over our heads."
"And what was ya mothah like?" Harley asked, scribbling into her notepad. "Was she a loving mothah?" Nora was quiet for a moment. "It's okay, take ya time."
Nora took a deep breath. "I thought she was. She took care of me. Tucked me in, fed me, and took care of me when I was sad. But then..." Nora tensed, taking a deep, shaky breath.
"Here, kid." Harley hand Nora a box of tissues. Nora blew into a tissue as tears welled in her eyes. "Don't hold back, just let it all out."
"Th-then the Grimm attacked, a-and they killed everyone." She blew her nose again, heaving breaths as she relived that awful time of her life. "A-And Mom j-just abandoned me! I -I watched her r-run ahead without me, and I cried, and I cried, b-but she never looked back for me."
"Nora?" The girl looked up to the woman. "Do ya want a hug?" Nora quickly nodded her head, and felt the motherly embrace of the psychiatrist.
"I... I just don't know what I did wrong!" Nora sobbed into Harley's shoulder. "W-What kind of a mother abandons her child?"
Harley was quiet, stroking the girl's back. Swallowing a hard lump, she answered. "Awful muthahs. Horrible, awful people." Harley pulled away from Nora. "But ya made it here, alive and happy. Ya mother may have abandoned you, and yes, ya lost her, but she's the one who lost something more important. She lost the chance to see the beautiful and intelligent woman ya growin up ta be. An without her, ya came here an made so many friends to take her place a hundred fold." Harley smiled. "So don' give her a second thought."
Nora sniffed, then blew into another tissue. "Thank you, Ms. Harley."
"Oh, pshaw!" Harley hugged the girl. "Jus Harley is fine, sweetie. Now, if ya eva need someone ta talk to, here's my numbah. Call me whenever, and if ya can't get ta me, jus leave a message."
"Thanks, Harley." Nora stood up. "I'm gonna go hang out with my friends."
"Have fun, sweetie!" Once Nora left, Harley walked over and shut the door. She locked it, and shoved the couch into the door knob. She sat down.
'W-What kind of a mother abandons her child?!'
"Me..." Harley sobbed into her hands. "I'm the kinda muthah who would do that..."
Ghost helpline part 15 sibling adventures
Klarion just wanted to cause some mischief, just because he left the Lords of Chaos doesn’t mean he’s no longer a trickster after all. Having Violet and Billy gone for so long had made him restless. So when he heard that there was an Atlantean artifact being shown off in Happy Harbor Museum the same color as his only sisters dual eyes he HAD to have it.
It was supposed to be an easy trip. Teleport in cause some chaos, steal the trinket and teleport out. May be he’d get to throw some sidekicks around, he hadn’t been expecting
Dr. Fate.
God he missed Nelson.
—- —- —-
Violet followed the celery dog and it’s master into the empty building- oh not empty. There were people talking at the bar and ten hidden guards. She sniffed the air, the one in green was bleeding.
“Goddamn it Harleen what did you do? Who is this you can’t just bring in strangers to drug deals!”
“Oh hold your horses Penguin. I’m just looking after the kid until someone comes to get her. What was I supposed to do just leave a meta kid alone in Gotham.” Harley spouted while r the walked to the bar, immediately grabbing a drink and downing it.
“A meta huhhh?”
“Oh no Penguin don’t be getting no ideas there, this kid is in no condition to join a gang.”
“Tch- so girly what’s your power?”
The girl was starting to anger Cobblepot, there was something about her that didn’t seem right. She wasn’t even answering she was just staring at all of them! At him, like he was some sort of freak show!
“Well I’m talking to you!”
The girl clocked her head, opening and closing her mouth a few times. She was getting on Oswald’s nerves, that vacant expression was creepy on a kid.
Oswald hated when people stared.
“Your green friend is bleeding.”
What?
The Penguin followed her gaze, around him and to Riddler. She hadn’t been staring at him at all?
“What? How did you figure that out?” Riddler smiled as Harley read him the riot act.
Cobblepot rolled his eyes at the twos antics, “Maurice! Bring the new fish some food!”
Noise could be heard from the kitchen, huh Violet thought - nine guards then.
“Oh come on Oswald don’t be cruel! Look at her!” Nygma chastised as the chef brought out a platter of dead, fully intact fish.
Instead of the usual shrieking the girl stared at it… “This is for me?”
“It’s in front of you isn’t it. Dig in.”
Violet was hungry, and Harleys phone was still charging. She knew she should eat food from people who weren’t her family but it didn’t seem that this came with any strings attached.
- Harley was horrified, the girl was reaching over to grab a fish. She was holding it in her gloved hands, “Hey kid you don’t gotta -“
She bit straight into it. Since when we’re her teeth sharp like that? She was chewing quickly, slurping on guts and swallowing with out hesitation. Like a train wreck Harley couldn’t look away, even as she took her other hand and pulled another fish apart by the ribs.
Oswald laughed and laughed, this was great. He reached over to take a morsel for himself and the girl flinched. Letting the fish drop onto the counter she covered her mouth with her soaking gloves, “Oh, sorry.”
It was the villains turn to stare.
Surprisingly it was Riddler who got over .. all of that .. first, “Why are you apologizing? We told you to eat and you ate. Good job.” He stared over her head to Oswald and mouthed, “Fix this.”
She was still covering her mouth.
The thing about the Ice Berge Lounge was that it was a place that ran on Villains and freakish clientele, this sense of shame simply would do Oswald thought - not here.
“You can keep eating I -“
“It’s okay I’m not hungry.” She said while eyeing the plate.
“Hey bud we already saw your teeth, and we know you’re a meta so you can keep eating okay? Look even Ossy has sharp teeth!”
“Don’t call me that Harls! - But she’s right do eat comfortably.”
The moved her hands down onto her dirty dress, her teeth looked normal now. “I’m not suppose to … I know it’s … ugly.”
Oswald felt enraged, “Look here no one in this lounge is ever going to give you crap about something like that okay kid? So just eat, we’re going to be deal with work so we won’t even look at you Capeesh?”
The kid looked entirely bewildered, Oswald slowly grabbed a fish for himself and swallowed it whole. The girl started eating again and he called it a win.
- Violet continued to eat as the adults talked. She felt mouths water under her skin, she could still smell blood. If it hadn’t been for the one dressed in green she might have not figured it out. But to be fair none of these villains were acting very villainous at the moment, drug deal aside.
It wouldn’t take that long for Harley’s phone to charge… who was she going to call? She definitely couldn’t call dad or Dandy she thought. She knew how mad and disappointed they’d be. And she wasn’t even sure where Billy was…
Alright that leaves seven brothers left.
—- —- —-
All Dandy had wanted to do was go on a nice drive with his brother to pick up their sister. But nooooo his little brother had to pick a fight with a lord of order and a gaggle of side kicks.
The worst part was that Charles and Klarion were utterly enjoying themselves.
“Awww is the Baby League gonna cry?”
Both of them had located Klarion quickly after entering the town, turning into their ghost selves before entering the museum.
Half of the place was destroyed, the entire town was semi floating and Charles was throwing fireballs like it was the only move he knew. At least it slowed the martian down. It was pure havoc.
Dandy saw a blond pocket the necklace. Uhhh, this is why you don’t send Klarion to do a stealth mission. He squared up against the girl, this necklace better be worth it.
- Charles was having the time of his afterlife! He was fighting real superhero’s! … and Dr.Fate.
Unlike his brothers Charles ghost form, lovingly called Danka, wasn’t … fleshy. Instead of a pallet switch, his black hair became black fire and his body discorporated into sizzling unbreakable bone.
Charles laughed as he spotted his brother buzzing around the young Amazonian. Dandy’s specialty was shrinking, collapsing in on himself until he was nothing more than a ball of light. Often confused for the ghost of a fairy instead of a human.
“I got it! Klarion portal us out now!”
Charles whooped out loud, best day ever.
Dandy looked around their new location and held the urge to scream, “Klarion. Where are we? And where is our car?” Worst day ever.
Billy knew that beating in Dr. Silvana wasn’t a constructive out lit for his anger. But he couldn’t throw a punch at his “co- workers” so this would have to do.
Billy walked down the streets after leaving the reject pediatrician for the police. He knew Fawcett like the back of his hand, even after getting adopted Vlad could never take him away from here. Not that the old man had tried, Billy was almost convinced his family thought the town was his haunt. He slowed down near a drop for homeless kids and stuck a roll of cash inside, all crumpled ones and fives. Maybe they were right.
He kept on walking, staring up at graphite and half finish murals. He couldn’t shake Batman’s words out of his head.
// The three of them had been taken in by Duke Vlad Plasmius at the end of the war. Violet had been promised asylum and adoption for her contributions in battle.
Klarion demanded asylum from the Court of Chaos that had abandoned him and had thrown him into war like a lamb to slaughter. He refused to leave Violets side.
The gods whispered their apologies to Billy. He shrugged this worked for him, they were a packaged deal now.
The trio explored Phantoms Keep like children and played politics like adults. Billy didn’t trust Vlad yet , he knew what adults were like. There had to be an ulterior motive here.
“Vlad! What’s happening what’s going on?”
Violet looked excited. They had all been worked up and dressed up in their finest, which wasn’t saying much. Vlad smiled back at her, “The royal painter is here dear, we are to be cataloged as part of the Royal Family.”
“Us? But-“
“All three of you are to be my children, so all three of you will be afforded the rights of one.” The man kneeled down, actually knelled! It left Billy bewildered. “I can’t promise things will be perfect, and I can’t promise a fairness in the line of succession or anything like that. But I will fight tooth and nail that you are all given the respect and dignity you deserve. So please please let me try.”
Billy could see Klarion waver, and Violet was already sold on the idea. “Okay dad! Let’s go!”
They meet up with their new siblings and all was well. It was a slow and tedious process but both him and Klarion ended up looking good. The human magician was old and stand off-ish but it didn’t matter. He bowed at the appropriate places and was deceptively polite.
… until Violet stood up for her portrait last.
It was all a blur and the painter almost got shanked.
“I’m sorry my Duke, I just don’t see why I have to paint her. It’s not like she’s in any line of power-“
“She is my daughter.”
“Right. Well I just don’t feel comfortable painting someone … like her.”
“Get. Out.” It was a lot easier to believe Vlad after that.//
Billy looked at the city mural and fiddled with his dads credit card inside his pocket. He thought about taking up painting.
Jazz and Danny don’t get much time together these days, which was fine really. What was a little time apart when they had eternity.
Jazz smiles as Aragon walks into her territory, time to get to work.
The werewolf stopped in front of the group heaving in anger, “What to scared to fight your own battles blood sucker?”
“I didn’t do anything wrong! I don’t even know you!”
“Liar! My friend dies and you just happen to be in the same area!!”
“Hold on,” Kaldurs voice harden, “Let’s talk this threw calmly. We are actually here investigating a death, if you could give us any information we can take care of this for you. There is no need for undue violence. If -“
The beast man growled, “His name was John Mark he worked in the building you just came out of. Do whatever you want. We know who’s really to blame.”
“I didn’t-“
“Better watch your back bloodsucker! Gggrrr You can’t hide behind the Atlantian forever.” The werewolf bared his teeth one last time before turning away from them.
- Kaldur was left sharing a confused look with Dick. That man had seem ready to hack them to pieces, they had been expecting a fight at least but instead he had spoken as if Kaldur was nothing but a shield. Maybe -
The girl bowed to Kaldur, “Thank you! Thank you so much! I-“
Nightwing stepped in with his easy going persona, “It’s alright you’re safe now. Do you mind if we ask you some questions? We-“
“I didn’t do it! I swear I just got here! I hardly even spend time in the mortal realm!”
“Wait if you hardly spend time here, then how did you know we were heroes?”
Jacks eyes blinked at them, oh shit. “Your heroes?!?!” Fuck fuck fuck
Dick could see the internal panic, “Hey hey it’s okay, just talk to us you’re not in trouble. Here you’re bleeding.” Dick took out his med kit, it would be an ideal time to get a blood sample.
“Don’t! Don’t touch me! You should never touch a bleeding vampire!”
Jack stepped back, god how dumb was this human?
Kaldur was getting worried, “If you didn’t know we are heroes why did you hide behind me?”
The pink dressed mess stared at him, “Do do you seriously not know????”
More bowing, “The stories of Atlantis king are terrifying, no one would be stupid enough to fight one of his subjects … so I kind of used it to my advantage. Sorry.”
Kaldur felt pride swell in chest, “Right.” Kaldur looked at the vampire, they were cute and clever. If only they were a boy Kaldur might, well it doesn’t matter.
“So what were you doing here?”
“I was collecting some flowers for my fright-mate!” A pink bag opened to show off a collection of flower heads, stems, leaves and ziplocks of soil. “She’s sick so I came, into your haunt without thinking.” The stranger flushed.
“Right well you should be wary, especially in places like Bludhaven and Gotham. Also walking around at night is dangerous for girls in these parts, lot of trafficking rings and stuff.” Nightwing debated tacking on a piece about not wanting to see any murders out of her but that felt unnecessary and perhaps a tad to mean.
A confused look took over their face, “But plenty of Vampires live here? And I’m not a girl?”
Well Dick was embarrassed now, Kaldur was just straight up shocked- the surface world really was different.
“Uhhh I should uhhh go… now… sunrise and all that.” She- uh they stepped away from them slowly.
Kaldur reached out, “Wait! What if we need to contact you again? … for the case!”
“Oh here, call for me if you need me. I owe you one for this whole mess I guess- But just one.”
Kaldur held on to the pink headband as the boy speed off.
“Uhhh great now I owe Tim money.”
Note
For anyone wondering Teekle, Klarions cat, is at home with Vlad.
I can see Billy not trusting Vlad at first only to completely take advantage later.
Yes Tim is definitely a conspiracy theorist that fully believes Vampires live in Gotham.
Dandy hates humans and the painter being a human magician, only add fuel to the fire.
Now that it's november get ready for "Jonathan Crane mopes because Halooween is over" time. He will be extra cranky this month and not even the horrifying screams of his text subjects will give him the same level of joy it usually does.
Get ready for more Jervis trying to hype him up with tea partys and mind controlling/abducting random citzens and other rogues alike so he can fill his tabble. Crane is the only person who is there voluntarialy and he isn't even happy with it.
Prepare for Pamela to offer her own toxins to help Crane study and use to improve his as a way to sheer him up. November is the month the most unique special new batches of the fear toxin are developed and they are truly something.
Rejoice at Harley Quinn beutifull shows of friendship as she does her very best to cheer Crane up. Including horror movie maratons, psycology discussions, finding impressively creative ways to terrorize Gotham, hugs, a fenomenal hot cocooa (she actually shares it with civilians too!!), judging uggly halloween costumes and just being very supportive.
Notice Riddler actually being less noisy for once because Crane apreciates the silence. Edward will also provide Crane with new tecnology made specifically to fear toxin people (be by gas, injection, or any form tbh, it rly doesn't matter). The good side is that he won't be doing crimes as he will be helping Crane and trying to not make as much noise. The bad side is that in december Crane will be heavilly armed up and with new toxin batches.
Don't try to confort the crying Killer Croc after Crane hurted his feelings. Unless you are a kid, Croc does not hurt kids au contrary he will probably play with you and give you a toy (some are made from human bones but hey such is life).
BE AFRAID. Because Crane will not work with Joker in november and while that means less potent smilex it also means mopey Joker (it only last the first week of november because Joker has a very poor atention span, but still).
Get ready. Calendar Man didn't comit his october crime for fear of Crane's retribution. But november is fair play.
Help you local baby vigilante. Red Robin is kindda friendly with Crane when no murders are being comited (he actually helped get Scarecrow murder rate lower by his positive influence) what means he heard a bunch of cranky retorts and he already hears it from the other bats already. Robin may punch Scarecrow even without a crime because mopey Crane annoys him. Batgirl is blonde wich increases the chance of her being kidnanpped to the tea partys, she will help the civilians to go through it without getting hurt and arrest Tetch. Blackbat is fine, actually, mostly she just worries about her gf being kidnapped by the MadHatter. Signal has to deal with Crane comiting crimes during the day, a thing he only do in november because and I quote "the darkness of a perfect Gotham night only reminds me that the all hallows night is far away". They need your support. Ofter them a hug, maybe a cup of coffee.
Red Hood is Red Hood and Nightwing it's in Bludhaven so they are fine. No need for extra mesures, just treat them like you always would.
Warning:
If mopey Scarecrow enters your home offer him a tea and a horror novel and coment about how you miss halloween already, bonus points if you or your house have a gothic or emo style and extra points if you still didn't took your Halloween decorations. He still will spike your tea, but the dosage is low as he is pleased with your gothic spirit, if you want a higher dosage just ask him, he will be glad to give it to you and provide you with a fresh bash of toxin for future use (legal disclaimer: this PDA should not contain pro-drug advertasing but them the GCPD should not have hired a high schooler to do it because they are lazzy and/or hate tecnology).
P.S: If you please him, Scarecrow will also provide you with great book recomendations and maybe a dark chocolate bar that may not even be spiked!! There was ONE case of a friend of mine, Mina you're great, that got one of his books because her decoration as great, her tea delicious and she wanted extra strong toxin. It's a copy of Dracula (probably a reference to her name) and even has some notes in the margins made by the Master of Fear himself. Soo cool.
One
Jackson Teller
Flashed on the screen of Ryder Winston-Teller’s phone causing her to pick it up and silence it before she put it down on the desk again. For 4 months she had been ignoring his phone calls and text messages. Mostly out of spite, and mostly out of hurt. They hadn’t been apart for long with her taking a temporary position at a law firm in Tacoma and the crow eaters had wasted no time trying to get into his bed and trying to replace her. One had succeeded, one she had thought was her friend but it wasn’t.  The phone rang again and she pressed the side button silencing it before it could ring again.
“You should talk to him.” Herman Kozik commented from where he was sitting on the leather couch, Harley, Ryder’s 2 year old daughter with Jax was sitting on his lap watching a cartoon on the spare laptop. “Koz,” She commented looking up from her own computer screen,  “Mind your business.”
“Can’t sweetheart, that the mother charter’s vp and you are his old lady. And it's kind of my business.’
 She returned her gaze to the screen in front of her, she wanted to pop off at him again but it wouldn’t do any good. She had made her displeasure of having a Son babysitter while she worked known. After a few seconds, Kozik’s burner rang and he pulled it out. “Don’t.’ She said pointing her finger, “Kozik please.”
 “Hey VP, what’s going on?” He said once he flipped his phone open, “I am right here with her.”
Ryder had picked up a letter opener and pointed it at him in a silent threat.
 The blonde man smirked, he knew that she wouldn’t actually do anything to harm him, it was either him or Happy and a lot of the time she chose Kozik. He didn’t scare people the way Happy did. He held out the phone to her, “talk to him, it won’t kill you.” “Might  kill you.” She whispered as she took the phone from him, “Yeah?” “Ry, you need to come home.” It wasn’t a statement, it was a demand.
“Why?” Kozik was now standing in front of her desk, her daughter on his hip clearly wanting to eavesdrop.
There was an angry sigh from the other end of the phone, he hated when Ryder got like this, not wanting to listen to him.
He supposed that he deserved it because of what happened when Wendy conned her way into their lives and into bed with Jax.
 “Something happened to Wendy and the baby.”
Ryder recoiled away from the phone, her green eyes full of tears. She had tried her hardest not to hear anything about Jax and Wendy, even forbidden Kozik and Bull to not talk about either one of them in her presence. “Wendy overdosed.”
  “Again?” She couldn’t help it, she had known Wendy when she was in Charming and knew that the woman only ever cared about was chasing a high.
“She’s dead.”  “Oh Jax,” she started, “What about the baby?”
“He might not make it. Hole in his heart and stomach. I need you and Harley here.”
“I can’t just up and leave Jax, I have cases I am working on. I have clients.”
 It was a lousy line of defense and she knew it, but she had to try.  “Ryder.” Her husband started, “please. I need you.”
The situation must have been desperate if he was using please, he never did.
He never had too.
  “Jax,.” She started  softly, turning so she couldn’t see Kozik or Harley, she knew if she looked at them she would say yes. She needed to hold strong to her resolve not to return to Charming and back into the ever ending circle of fighting, drama and anger.  And not to mention there was Gemma, Jax’s mother, she was there and meddling. And meddling in everything. It was exhausting, the whole life was exhausting, she just wasn’t ready for that. And she wasn’t ready for Harley to go through that. Harley deserved a semi happy childhood.
“I can’t. Not today.” She finally said, “I have to be in court in the morning. This case I have is major and it’s a big client.” Kozik scoffed so loudly that Ryder turned back around and glared. “Ry, this isn’t something you can negotiate.” “Jackson, don’t pull that I am your old man and you have to listen to me bullshit. It didn’t work when we first got together and it’s not gonna work now.”  Kozik’s eyes went wide in surprise. In the time he had been a son and he only ever heard one lady say no and that was Jax’s mother Gemma.  He had met Ryder when she was about 6 and he just joined the mother charter, she was a spitfire then and if anything it was worse now especially since she had been in Tacoma and was living a life that wasn’t dominated by the men in it.
The phone slamming down on the hard desktop, startled Kozik out of his thoughts and turned to look at her. “I can’t  believe he is playing. I am his old lady, and what he says go card. Our relationship has never been like this. Ever.”  “Well kiddo, I hate to say but times are changin’, and your relationship with Jax is gonna change.” Kozik commented, “One day you will be in Gemma’s place.” Ryder glared at him, her hand curling around the pen she had in her hand, “I am never gonna be that woman.”
Soothed After A Bad Dream
Fandom: Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man
Summary: Jimmy comforts his big teddy bear brother-in-law Jack after he has a nightmare.
Characters: Jack Daniels, Jimmy Jiles
Word Count: 1,299
Tumblr media
Jack woke up from his nightmare in a cold sweat. He sat up, alone in his bed, hyperventilating and shaking in fear. He looked over at his wife’s side of the bed. She wasn’t there. Lulu was away from home visiting her mother. Jack was alone in the dark bedroom. The only sounds were his pounding heart and heavy breathing. He put on boxer shorts and went down to the kitchen to get a drink of water. He sat down at the table with his glass of water, trying to calm himself down.
Lulu’s brother, Jimmy, was staying over while Lulu was away. He had been asleep on the couch but was awoken by the noise when Jack came down. He went to the kitchen to check on Jack.
“Hey, are you okay?” Jimmy asked, rubbing his sleepy eyes.
“I had a bad dream,” Jack said softly.
Jimmy came over, yawned, and sat down next to Jack. “Want to talk about it?”
As Jack thought about his bad dream, his eyes filled with tears. Jimmy could NOT BEAR to see Jack cry.
“Damn it, Jack. Please don’t do that.”
“Sorry,” Jack said, wiping away the tears.
“You don’t have to be sorry,” Jimmy said gently. “But there’s really nothing to cry about. It was just a dream.”
Jack sniffled and wiped his runny nose on his arm. “It was horrible.”
“Do you want to tell me about it?”
Jack closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He began to talk about his dream, his deep voice trembling as he spoke.
“I dreamed that Lulu left me for another man. She said that she didn’t love me anymore. A bunch of people started laughing at me. They threw rocks at me and hit me in my head, chest, and tummy, but my broken heart hurt worse than anything else.” Jack paused for a moment to inhale a shaky breath before continuing.
“Then all of my friends said they hated me and that I would be alone forever. I took my knife and started to slice open my own throat…and then I woke up.”
“Oh man,” Jimmy said, his dark eyes full of pity.
Jack couldn’t hold back any longer. His eyes squeezed shut, his lip trembled, and the tears leaked from his sweet eyes.
“Hey,” Jimmy said, patting Jack’s arm comfortingly. “There’s nothing to cry about.”
“I’m sorry.”
“You have nothing to be sorry for.”
“I feel like such a baby,” Jack whined, roughly wiping the tears off his cheeks. He felt ashamed of himself for making such a fuss. “It’s pretty silly to cry over bad dreams.”
“You had a nightmare. It’s okay to be scared, but you know that nightmares have nothing to do with reality,” Jimmy explained to him. “Lulu loves you, and I know that she would never leave you. I mean, I know that she can be a pain sometimes, but she really does love you. You should hear the way she brags about you.”
“She does?”
“Of course. She loves to tell everyone about her big, strong, wonderful husband. There are lots of people who care about you so much…including me. I love you, Jack.”
Jack smiled. “I love you, too.”
Jimmy hugged Jack.
“Nobody is going to hurt my favorite brother-in-law. Not on my watch,” Jimmy said.
“Thanks,” Jack said.
Jimmy patted Jack gently on his back. “Now let’s try to get some sleep, okay?”
“I’m not ready to go back to sleep yet,” Jack said, anxiously picking up his glass of water and taking a sip. His huge hands started to tremble again as he feared more nightmares in his future.
“That’s okay,” Jimmy said, soothingly. “I’ll stay up with you until you’re ready. Is there anything else I can do for you?”
Jack thought about it. “When I was a kid, Mom used to make me hot chocolate when I couldn’t sleep.”
Jimmy looked over at the stove. “Do you want me to make you some?”
Jack considered, but he shook his head. “No, you don’t have to do that.”
“Listen, Jack. When you go back to sleep, try to think about happy things. Think about the good times that you and Lulu had together. Think about the good times that we’ve had with our buddies. Think only happy thoughts.”
“Okay, I’ll try that.”
“Think about anything that makes you happy. You could think about drinking beer and whiskey, eating an ice cream sundae, going to the beach, having a picnic…”
“Being tickled,” Jack added, a red blush on his cheeks.
Jimmy chuckled. “Yes, I know you like to be tickled.”
Jack looked down for a moment, biting his lip. Then he looked at Jimmy with puppy dog eyes.
“Uh, Jimmy? I think some tickling might make me feel better. Umm, would you…”
“No, Jack. I will not tickle you,” Jimmy said firmly.
Jack made a sad face.
Jimmy rolled his eyes and sighed. He just had to give in. “Oh, alright, you win. But…please don’t tickle me back.”
“Okay, I won’t. Promise.” Jack smiled excitedly.
Jimmy came over and tickled Jack in his ribs, causing him to laugh loudly. He squirmed and slid out of his chair onto the floor. Jimmy stopped tickling and waited for Jack to get back into his seat.
“Lift up your arm,” Jimmy ordered.
“I can’t!” Jack said with a nervous giggle.
“You asked for this.”
“Okay…”
Jack raised his arm and let Jimmy’s finger tickle his armpit.
“HAHAHAHA!” Jack laughed, slamming his arm back down. “Stop, that tickles!”
Then Jimmy tickled the back of Jack’s neck and made him squeal with more laughter. His squirms and joyful laughs turned his plump cheeks rosy red.
Jimmy was glad that he decided to tickle Jack. It was worth it to see that big, happy smile on Jack’s face.
“There, that’s enough,” Jimmy said, patting Jack on the shoulder. “Now I think it’s time to get our asses back to bed. What do you say?”
Jack smiled and nodded yes. He was feeling better now. “Thanks for everything, Jimmy.”
“No problem, but I still don’t understand how you enjoy being tickled. I can’t stand it!” Jimmy said with a shudder.
Jack became curious about something. “Hey, Jimmy, what is your most ticklish spot?”
“I’m not telling you that!” Jimmy said, startled. “No way. That’s private.”
“Oh, come on. You can trust me. Where are you most ticklish?”
“I won’t tell you.”
“I’m just curious. Tell me!”
“No.”
Then Jack yawned. “Actually, I am kind of sleepy. I think it is time to go to bed.”
“Have good dreams this time,” Jimmy said.
“Thanks again,” Jack said.
They hugged and said goodnight to each other. Then Jimmy went back to sleep on the couch, and Jack went back upstairs to the bedroom.
Jack got into bed and pulled the blanket up to his beard. He closed his eyes and let his mind drift off to a happy place. He remembered his childhood and those sleepless nights spent bonding with his mother over delicious hot chocolate. He remembered the day that he and Lulu got married. The day he and Lulu went to the beach, he got buried in the sand, and she tickled his feet. He remembered the day he and Jimmy looked through an old photo album and then shared yummy ice cream. The day Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man returned to the Rock N’ Roll Bar and Grille and they had a play fighting match and a nice reunion. He thought about those big burps he would let out after a great beer, and that thought made him chuckle. He thought about something that he wanted for Christmas.
Sweet, beautiful dreams welcomed Jack as he fell asleep, knowing that he was loved.
Listen to: ‘Just Another Girl’ -by The Killers
Tumblr media
xxiii: Patching Up
"You know, I gotta be really honest with you, girls..."
The three of them were at the back of an ambulance, this was the first time they spoke after Kate told them she'd handed her own mother to the police.
"It doesn't happen too often, but every once in a while, you come across somebody that just makes you better in every way... And that Missy, boy— she just outdid herself with the suit, right? The elasticity in this fabric..."
Kate laughed. "Okay, you can stop..."
"I know tonight was a lot," he continued, "you took on Kingpin all by yourselves— and you got him arrested. Not many people walk away from somethin' like that... And I'm so proud of you."
Kate squeezed his hand. "Thank you."
"I honestly wasn't that good, I..." Kate was looking at her, and she stopped before saying the self-deprecating comment. "I'm glad I could be of help. Your family needs you, Clint."
He looked between them with a little smile, realizing what'd happened. "You know what? We gotta walk that dog."
"Yeah, we do," Kate stood. "Let me make sure Jack's okay— I mean I'm sure he will be, he has a penthouse but..."
"We'll wait here," Cat assured her.
Her eyes stayed on the girl until she felt Clint's. "Argh, just spit it out. I can't stand you when you get cheeky."
"You don't like it when others have ways to mess with you," he smirked. "You are a flirt."
"My heart has plenty of room and people keep begging to get some, who am I to deny them?" She innocently.
Clint shook his head. "Kate's not your regular superhero. She's just a girl with a cool suit."
"So?"
"You know what I mean."
Cat looked around at the mess they'd caused, she smiled, lost in thought.
"Steve said something to me when he came back old... never forget that you had a family... I thought he was telling me that I had to honor them, but he was telling me that no matter what, I'll always have them in me."
"Yeah, that sounds like him," Clint sighed heavily. "Been a rough couple of years for ya, huh? But that look on your face..."
She pushed him playfully. "Don't get sappy, we're not that close."
"You're not fooling anyone," he chuckled. "We've always been buddies..."
Cat's eyes found Kate again, she was telling Jack goodbye, and the moment he left she looked terribly lonely.
"Hey, considering we crashed the Bishop's party... don't you think she should have the chance to crash yours?"
Tumblr media
Barton's family treated her like she was one of them. They knew her name and knew what she liked to eat and not to use flash when taking pictures, the children had really good memories.
She got a text from Harley and Happy, both spending the Holidays with their respective loved ones (Happy was with Morgan and Pepper). Kurt sent her a picture from New Asgard: he was in the middle of a large table surrounded by different beings, and King Valkyrie was at the end with a charming smirk.
Cat walked out of the house staring at Matthew's contact. They hadn't talked in months, but she wasn't well-versed in break-up etiquette, and she didn't know what to do. Cat regretted the way things ended, she wanted to make sure he was okay.
"No reception?"
The mutant almost dropped her phone. "Shi— I was— er, thinking... I just... well, I was... never mind."
Kate's smirked. "Who were you texting, Cat?"
"You know what, you coming out here at this moment is a sign. I'll let it go."
"Is this about that ex-boyfriend Yelena mentioned when she came to my apartment?"
She groaned. "Yeah. I keep thinking that if I hadn't said yes to that one gig, I'd be celebrating Christmas with him and his friends... but I'm not regretting it much, if I'm honest, and that makes me feel even more guilty."
Kate gave a step forward. "You're not?"
"You and Clint helped me realize a few things, and I got the closure I didn't know I needed. You did that," she pointed before stepping closer to her. "I did most of it, but you were there."
Kate crossed her arms. "Well, if getting the beating of my life helped you realize your worth, I'd gladly go through it again."
Cat tilted her head, and a deja vu came to her, of something similar a long time ago, yet she couldn't place it.
"You're sweet," she concluded. "You have a place to stay after Christmas?"
"No."
"You can stay with me."
Kate opened her mouth, then closed it, then opened it again. "You're serious?"
"Yeah."
"But you were about to text your ex!"
Cat looked at her phone and put it in her pocket. "That has nothing to do with what I asked, and I don't even know what you're talking about. Who does that?"
"Many people," Kate said bluntly. "Everyone. At least once in their life."
"Really?" Cat asked in surprise. "I've never gotten back together with anyone."
"No?"
"Well, I've only dated once. I hooked up with my best friend and never did it again," she squinted. "Okay, two times, but it wasn't like we were in love or anything—"
"Okay, Clint wasn't wrong when he said you were a flirt."
"That a turn-off for you?"
Kate pondered. "It makes you cuter, somehow. How do you do that?"
"Maybe I'm just hot."
"Maybe."
"Have you tried covering one half of my face to see if you like me or if it's just that I have pretty eyes?"
"What do you mean?"
"Yeah like those tiktoks, you know, 'Is he handsome or just white?'"
"Hang on," Kate reached for Cat's face and covered her eyes. "Hmmm they are distracting, I mean they're purple, but you also have a great smile..."
Cat giggled, trying to move her hand away.
"Say something weird, c'mon," Kate teased her. "Tell me more about your hookups—"
She laughed, seizing her wrist. Kate was standing really close, and when they locked eyes, a thrilling goosebump ran up Cat's spine causing the tip of her fingers to tingle. Their breaths rose in soft, white puffs, and Kate's cheeks flushed.
"Kate," she marveled at the way the archer's eyes mirrored the snow. "Remember how I said I'm not a good partner?"
"Yeah," the girl replied just as quietly.
"I wasn't lying," Cat's gaze landed on her lips. "But I'm really good in bed."
The archer's face turned scarlet, and she burst into cackles, moving away from Cat.
"You did not just say that! Oh my God!"
"Too forward?" Cat was laughing too. "Okay, well, you didn't let me finish!"
"I'm listening," Kate replied, struggling to keep a straight face.
"I know you like me and you know I like you, but I don't think it's a good idea to try anything serious, at least for a while. I'm not made for forever."
"That's alright with me," Kate agreed, shrugging a little. She laughed again, it was a beautiful sound. "You're amazing."
"You're pretty cool too," she smirked. "So you'll stay in my apartment?"
"Okay."
"Really?"
"I have to confirm if you're telling the truth. About being good in bed."
Cat was grinning from ear to ear. "You done making fun of me?"
"I'm not making fun of you!"
"You are."
"You say crazy things with a straight face and it catches me off guard—"
Cat put an arm around Kate's shoulders and turned her around, guiding her back to Clint's house.
"You have to get used to that, princess, 'cause I don't know how to stop," she said.
"At least I hope it never stops being funny," the archer said, walking beside her and wrapping her own arm around Cat's waist.
"Oh, I've always been hilarious, you don't have to worry about that."
Kate nodded briefly and sighed happily. Cat felt warm against her, she couldn't remember the last time she'd felt this young.
what kind of tattoos do they have? what are their dream cars? what were their childhoods like? what were their favorite novels? would u say that jack is doomed by the narrative?
what kind of tattoos do they have?
gale has a black flag tat on her left shoulder n a bunch of random stick n pokes on her left forearm in the early 80s. after abt '87 she stopped maintaining them n in late '88, early '89 got a desert sleeve on her right and left forearms,  something similar to this. the right arm was day and the left was night. she also has a venom welcome to hell tat she got a few years (87 iirc?) after jack passed away on her right shoulder blade and the artery tattoo i mentioned yesterday (anatomical heart pierced by 5 swords in a pentagram shape w an A carved into it) on her left also in 87
ronnie got flowers on her right thigh in 83/84 and the artery tat at the same time as gale! they went together n had a good cry abt it
jack & max never got any but jack did joke about getting a venom welcome to hell tattoo
what are their dream cars?
they were all kind of basic LOL gale just wanted a baby blue mustang, but she was more into bikes (lovedddd modding her harley esp in the late 80s n into the modern day).
ronnie bought the bands van ('81 ford ecoline), wanted a '68 pink mustang convertible, pink corvette convertible, (probably a 74 or 72) n a bmw. i think she got the z1 even though it was never released in the us (rich bitch moment.)
jack wanted a pontiac firebird so fucking bad it was embarrassing, ideally it would be black probably a 77?
max was not into really into cars but she liked how firebirds looked the best so i guess that would have been hers.
what were their childhoods like?
ronnie and gale's were pretty happy! they got along w their parents n were pretty well off. jack n max were not as fortuante tho<\3 everyone but jack grew up in socal
ronnie grew up rich. like mega rich. her "modest childhood home" it was a huge house w a waitstaff ("it was only jim (butler), tom (valet) n cathy (cook) n the cleaning ladies on tuesdays!" thats still a waitstaff fuck off ronnie) n in southern california. like girl🙄. but anyway yeah. rich girl kind of spoiled (definitely spoiled) youngest of 2, had an older brother who lived in the uk in the late 70s early 80s for school or something. maybe it had to do w the family business which idk what it was LMFAO. he would send ronnie metal albums cuz they were both into nwobhm. mother was a socialite, loved to throw lavish parties. ronnies dad adored her, shes a total daddy's girl. she started playing drums when she was 14 when she found her dad's kit (he was a big beatles fan n loved ringo) in the garage attic. ronnie went to public school but wasnt really the best student tho she tried really hard. she had like 3-7 dogs growing up cuz her parents loved dogs and giving strays a good home for however long they stayed.
gales dad was a single parent, worked as a college professor teaching literature. his specialty was american lit, esp black american lit. he collected classical music and jazz records and read books constantly. he often had his professor friends n students over for dinner, to discuss books or political happenings etc etc. he really encouraged gale to pay attention to politics and read everything and listen to everything and ask questions about everything. she took piano lessons from like 6-16, started playing bass around 13/14. she was a huge bookworm as a kid which her dad like. very much encouraged n fostered. gale went to public school.
max was the 4th child of 6. her dad was an alcoholic n her mom worked as a waitress. she doesnt talk abt her childhood. when she met ronnie she basically moved in w her n ronnies parents adored her cuz she had that california beach blonde, girl next door look coupled w a total kicked puppy sad eyes n they just loved taking in strays. she started playing guitar around 14/15 after being lent a black sabbath tape by an older sibling. not sure which one
jack was born in chula vista n her parents divorced when she was 4. she lived w her mother in the bay area but never stayed in one place for very long. her mom bought her a guitar when she was nine as a birthday present n jack taught herself from listening to songs on the radio. she was often described as a "troubled child" struggling with aggression, focusing in school, reading, and writing. began seriously playing guitar after hearing motorheads debut. was kicked out of her moms home after dropping out of school, moved in with friends. played in a bunch of various punk n heavy metal bands, eventually relocating to LA with the band she was in at the time, before joining artery in the summer of 81.
what were their favorite novels?
gale read too many to have a like. real favorite she would just start listing the ones she thought were good or that u would like. she really loved kurt vonneguts and bell hooks work. maybe sister outsider by audre lorde? i know why the caged bird sings? dhalgren? dune? catcher in the rye? i think dhalgren honestly but idk
ronnie's is definitely lord of the rings. like without question its lotr. fucking nerd. she'll say its vogue magazine tho
max...lolita, ariel or maldoror
jack was like. between being functionally illiterate and having (MAYBE?????????) severe dyslexia. she has a lot of trouble reading (recognizes albums by the cover, bands by the vocalist/guitarist) n struggles with writing (near/illegible handwriting, misspelling, difficulty with grammar/syntax) so. she doesnt have a favorite novel. shed call u a nerd for asking that
would u say that jack is doomed by the narrative?
definitely. there is no possible outcome of artery's story where she could have lived. she n max r both doomed by the narrative but jack was the only one who really actually literally died. max … since she didnt like. physical die its not truely being doomed by the narrative but like. she, as both the frontman of artery and as the person she was in artery around tht community… she died. completely. n hasnt been seen since 1986. so maybe she did actually die! ull never know
The final fates of Dini-verse villains part 2: The Winning Edge (If ever there was a PSA about steroids...)
[All images are owned by DC Comics and WarnerMedia. I hope I’m too small-fry to sue...]
(All videos in this review are courtesy of The Night Beyond)
In my last review, I mentioned that 7 “modern” era villains has their final fates revealed in the era of Batman Beyond. I have thus far revealed 5. The sixth reveals the fate of the newest Batman villain on this list (debuting in the comics a year after Harley Quinn debuted in Batman: the Animated Series)...
Tumblr media
Bane, a villain created specifically...
Tumblr media
(Thanks to Screen Rant)
...to remove Batman (much like Doomsday was created to remove Superman) In the comics, he’s a brilliant tactician (which didn’t seem to carry over as much to the Dini-verse) who uses a super steroid known as Venom to temporarily enhance his already impressive strength.
If you would like to watch the episode, you can either do so on HBO Max, or watch it on Amazon Prime behind the paywall.
Tumblr media
We open in a dark alley in Gotham, where the Jokerz line up by an ice cream truck...
Tumblr media
...with a cool secret. However...
Tumblr media
...there always has to be a party pooper. The Jokerz grab the hardware from the gun and start firing (they do know they’ll have to pay for those, right?) Batman makes short work of them as Gotham’s Finest show to do the mop-up.
I should note this is early in Terry’s career as Batman...
Tumblr media
...so he’s not used to the late nights yet. His teacher notices and gives Terry a disk with a note for his mother (Really? Even when this episode first aired email was fairly common!)
After school, Dana takes Terry to watch the Big Game. No clue what the game is. Near as I can tell it’s Zero-Gee Lacrosse.
youtube
Batman recognizes “Mason” as one of the athletes from the game earlier in the evening (who is also dating his friend Chelsea)
Tumblr media
Speaking of the happy couple, Chelsea is worried Mason (who looks like Death Warmed Over) is using something called “slappers” (you don’t suppose she means those squares he was placing on himself that made his veins pop out, do you?) Mason brushes her off, so she storms away. Guess the honeymoon is over.
Then Mason’s teammates arrive with the cash they got for selling the stuff they stole last night...
Tumblr media
...which he trades for slappers for him and his fellow players. His hands are trembling so much he has to slap one on just to get home.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately for Mason, someone followed him and saw the whole thing.
That evening at Hamilton Hill High School (where Terry goes to school)...
Tumblr media
...Batman pays a visit to the boys’ locker room, picking Mason’s locker open and finding his stash of Slappers. Next stop, the Batcave so Bruce can analyze them.
But before he can leave, he gets hit from behind!
Tumblr media
You’d think the Coach would want to know why Gotham’s resident superhero is snooping around his locker room, but instead he wants to take on the Bat.
The fight is carried to the...Zero-Gee Lacrosse(?) arena where Batman makes short work of the Coach.
Tumblr media
Afterward, Terry heads home later than normal, and his mother is worried, especially since the school told her about Terry sleeping in class. His brother Matt “helpfully” goes in Terry’s bag to get the disk (OK, I get that little brothers are jerks who want to see their sibling get in trouble. Hell, a few months after I moved from my mother’s custody to my father’s, my brother was STILL trying to get me in trouble with my mom! But Matt embraces “sibling rivalry” with almost sadistic glee!). When Terry grabs the bag back, it spills open, revealing...
Tumblr media
...the slappers Batman took from Mason’s locker. Terry’s mom, of course, freaks. She grounds Terry except for school and working with Bruce Wayne. Matt is giddy that Terry’s in trouble!
Later at the Batcave...
youtube
This episode is turning more and more into an Afterschool Special.
Meanwhile at Zero-Gee Lacrosse(?) practice...
Tumblr media
...Mason looks worse than ever, and the Coach notices, sending him to the showers. His cohorts bitch at him about his stash of slappers going missing, but one of them “found” his parents’ cash cards so Mason can get more.
That night, Mason approaches his dealer’s car when...
Tumblr media
The dealer high-tails it out of there, but not before Batman tosses a tracer on the car. Bruce tracks the vehicle.
youtube
I know Bane was defeated at least once by damaging the device that feeds him Venom until it overloaded his body, so this is certainly plausible. Plus it shows the dangers of drugs by showing a guy ODing.
Anyway, Terry is out past curfew, so likely his career as Batman may be over (and Matt is likely doing a Victory Dance in his room)
youtube
Hope you enjoyed the episode (even it it was a bit heavy-handed) I know Matt didn’t like the ending.
Six down. The final villain’s fate to be revealed next week...and it’s a chiller!
Proving Yourself to a Cute Boy
Harley has a crush on a cute boy, who doesn't notice him. Harley figures out a way for him to notice him a bit more.
Ao3 Link here
Harley knew he was in trouble. Peter being Peter was smiling as he talked with MJ and Ned. Harley wished he was smiling at him and talking to him but he wouldn’t. No one talked to Harley.
“Are you still staring at Peter Parker?” Gwen asked. Almost everybody.
“He is hot and he is smart and who wouldn’t look at him,” Harley whined.
“A lesbian,” Gwen said.
“Well besides you,” Harley said.
“Look I’m asking Michelle out tomorrow and when I do I can suggest a double date between you and Peter,” Gwen said.
“No thanks. I don’t need you to get my boyfriend for me,” Harley said. Peter turned and his glance passed Harley’s. Harley wished Peter would just notice him. He sighed as he went on with his day wishing for something he couldn’t have.
~
Harley thought he was crazy. Maybe he wasn’t. As he was waiting for Happy, he saw Peter look around before jumping the fence of the school. Harley was surprised he could do that. How was Peter able…? Harley ran past the gate and split out of the school yard following Peter for a while before he saw him change into the Spider-Man costume. Harley hid as the web-slinger swung away. Harley got a call from Happy.
“Kid, where are you?” Happy asked.
“I was following a friend and got lost,” Harley said. “I’ll send you my location.” Happy grumbled but told him he would be there in a bit. Harley took that as enough time to process what he found out.
~
Tony was blasting music in the lab when Harley came into the lab. He looked at his adopted dad and went to ask but decided against him. Maybe Tony didn’t know Spider-Man’s identity and if he didn’t know and found out the other was under eighteen then Peter would never fall in love with him and have their two point five kids and their dog that Harley always dreamt of. Harley didn’t say anything as he opened a new tab and had FRIDAY lock it from Tony under the Kid Needs a Secret Protocol. Tony never needed to know about what he was planning.
~
“Hey Harley, want to take a break and grab a snack?” Tony asked.
“Yeah,” Harley said as he shut the file. He would have to find time when Tony wasn’t in the lab to work as the man would be in his business. Anything to help his love though.
~
“Did you finally ask out Michelle?” Harley asked.
“No,” Gwen said. “I was about to but then Betty showed up and interrupted me and I couldn’t ask her out.”
“Well you could do so now,” Harley said pointing to Michelle alone. Gwen looked at her and got up the courage to go ask her out. Harley watched as Gwen made it to the table and talked with Michelle. Michelle seemed confused and then he saw her surprise. Michelle said something and Gwen smiled and held out her hand. Michelle handed over a phone and then Gwen handed it back and said something else before heading back.
“So?” Harley asked when Gwen was back.
“Michelle is going to go out with me,” Gwen said.
“Your dad isn’t going to stop you from dating is he?” Harley asked.
“Says Iron Man’s kid,” Gwen said. Gwen was the only one who knew who Harley’s adopted dad was and Harley rather not have the school find out. Gwen continued on her points as Harley saw Peter join Michelle and Michelle let him know about the date. Peter looked over and Harley put his head down to look at his food.
“He isn’t looking this way,” Gwen told him. Harley looked up to see Peter was not looking this way. Harley thanked Gwen who just rolled her eyes.
“Ask him out already,” Gwen said.
“I actually made a plan to ask him out. It requires some work but I plan to steal his heart through helping him out a bit,” Harley explained.
“It’s not crazy is it?” Gwen asked.
“Sort of,” Harley said. “But when isn’t my life crazy?” Gwen just rolled her eyes and Harley worked on the schematics as he ate lunch.
~
Harley was testing out the suit when he saw Spidey get his ass kicked by a Lizard. Harley landed and blasted the Lizard with a stun blast. Spidey grumbled as he webbed up the Lizard and looked at Harley.
“Look Mr. Stark I don’t need your help,” Spidey said.
“I’m actually not Mr. Stark,” Harley said. “I’m Iron Boy.”
“Iron Boy? What are you supposed to be Iron Man’s sidekick?” Spidey asked amused.
“No, it’s just a name cause my suit is similar,” Harley explained.
“So knock-off Iron Man?” Spidey said. “Has that suit even been tested?”
“Testing it now,” Harley said.
“Good now go home and never come out again. This life is too dangerous for you,” Spidey said before swinging away.
“Guess I’ll just have to prove you wrong,” Harley said as he flew away. He knew he would have to prove that he was fit to fight alongside his hero.
~
Harley didn’t think his world could change so fast. Tony was focused on finding his alter ego’s identity. Gwen and Michelle were now a couple meaning that Gwen was going to eventually want to eat lunch with her girlfriend which meant Harley would have lunch alone. Or so he thought as he was sitting down eating his lunch and reading through papers that Tony wanted him to look at because his dad trusted his opinion when he heard a tray set across from him and he looked up to see that Peter Parker was setting down his tray. Gwen sat beside him with Michelle by her. Ned Leeds sat next to Peter and continued his conversation. Harley looked at his papers ignoring the intrusion.
“What are you working on today?” Gwen asked him.
“Some new prosthetics for my internship. I’m actually just accessing the blueprints for my mentor,” Harley explained. Peter looked at it before pointing out a flaw that both Tony and Rhodey missed. Harley looked at him amazed.
“Would you be able to stop by after school today and show this to my mentor? I’m sure he would let you show up. He kinda is the boss,” Harley explained. Peter hesitated before agreeing. Harley texted Tony that he was bringing a friend home to help with the prosthetic and telling him about how smart Peter was and just praising Peter to the point Tony asked him if he was bringing his crush home. Harley groaned but told him he was. He didn’t know how Tony would react to meeting Peter but he knew that this was going to be embarrassing as Harley told Peter about how his mentor would be embarrassing ahead of time. Peter just smiled and told him his aunt could be the same sometimes.
“Harley’s mentor is his dad though,” Gwen said.
“Adopted dad,” Harley reminded.
“He is your dad in every way but blood,” Gwen said.
“That is cool that you can work with your dad,” Ned said. “My dad took me to work once and I fell asleep but he also has an office job at Stark Industries.”
“Mine can’t take me to work,” Peter said before Ned and Michelle groaned.
“Please don’t make another orphan joke,” Michelle said.
“Well even before he died he worked in a top secret lab so I could never go in,” Peter explained.
“Orphan pals?” Harley jokes.
“OMG I found another orphan who is smart! It’s fate!” Peter said. Ned rolled his eyes.
“My sister is an orphan as well. Well she might be my brother. She is gender questioning right now and Dad and Mom are accepting and telling them; they don’t have to have all the answers and I am rambling again,” Harley said.
“You’re right,” Michelle said. “They are perfect for each other.” Harley looked at Michelle surprised as Peter looked at her confused. Harley just gave Gwen a stare but Gwen smiled at him and told him to eat his lunch. He did but only because he knew he couldn’t deal with a sugar drop now. Not when his crush was coming over today.
~
Peter smiled as he waited with Harley for Happy to arrive. Harley had texted Happy letting him know about the extra passenger. Harley talked about the labs where he interned as they waited. Peter seemed interested and talked about the internship labs he worked at.
“My dad might try to get you to start working for him so be aware,” Harley said. Peter smiled at that and talked about his mentor not letting him leave no matter what. Happy pulled up and Peter and Harley slipped into the car. Happy had the dividing window up for now. Harley just explained his driver didn’t like people.
“It’s okay. My internship driver is flirting with my aunt,” Peter said. Harley laughed as Peter seemed to smile.
“It’s nice to see you smile. You are always serious,” Peter told him.
“I guess I am,” Harley said.
“You are very serious, Sir,” his phone said and he cursed. JARVIS must have turned on again. He had been working on his reprogramming during Engineering again and he knew that he should have verified he shut down the program.
“Is that an AI?” Peter asked.
“Yeah, I’m still working on him,” Harley said. “He was my dad’s AI and part of the programming was still on my laptop so I reprogramed his coding that I had leftover on my computer and recreated him based on the programming. It was supposed to be a gift for my dad but I kinda want to keep him now.”
“Boss has his new AI that I was replaced with after my files were corrupted,” JARVIS explained.
“Why is he British?” Peter asked.
“No idea,” Harley said. Peter asked about his AI and told him that he wanted to create his own AI. They got to the tower in no time and it wasn’t until the car was stopped for a while that Harley realized it. He told Peter and led him to his lab on the top floor. Peter was amazed.
“This is my lab. My dad has his own on the floor, but I told him to meet us here cause he can be a little too much sometimes,” Harley said. “Also, I should probably tell you my dad is…”
“Parker?” Tony said as he came in. Harley froze. His dad knew Peter. Peter looked at Tony and seemed to be shell shocked.
“Mr. Stark,” Peter said. Peter seemed to put two and two together. “Your dad is Mr. Stark!”
“Yes,” Harley said. “How do you know my dad?” Harley wanted to know how Tony knew Peter.
“Peter is a Stark Intern here,” Tony said.
“When do you have time for that with all your extracurriculars?” Harley asked.
“Well most of them are part of the Stark Internship,” Peter said calmly as Tony looked between the boys.
“You mean you knew he was Spider-Man with him being sixteen,” Harley said. “What the hell? Why would you let a sixteen year old be Spider-Man? Aren’t you supposed to be a responsible adult? No wonder you can’t figure out I’m sneaking out at night.”
“You know I’m Spider-Man?” Peter said as Tony said “You’re sneaking out?”
“Yes and Yes,” Harley said. “It wasn’t hard when I was watching you. I mean I’m surprised you didn’t catch my stares across the halls or in class.”
“Oh I knew you were staring, I just thought it was because you didn’t like me,” Peter said.
“Not like you, I have a crush on you,” Harley said.
“Well guess I’m an idiot for not noticing,” Peter said.
“Guess I’m an idiot for not asking you out sooner,” Harley told him back. “Michelle is right, we are perfect for each other.”
“Can we get back to sneaking out?” Tony asked.
“No,” Harley said.
“I think we need to,” Tony said.
“You’re Iron Boy,” Peter said. Tony grumbled. “That is why you are working on AI.”
“That’s it! FRIDAY makes the kids need super guidance protocol to alert me when a kid is a superhero!” Tony shouted.
“Alert: Kate Bishop of New York is doing vigilante activity on the block of…” Tony was cursing as the other two laughed as Tony ran to grab his suit and deal with another vigilante kid.
“So since your dad just left wants to hang and watch movies as my boyfriend?” Peter asked.
“Sure,” Harley said. The boys went up not knowing that Tony just screwed himself over with a new protocol and they would have to get involved soon.
ANT-MAN COCO AU PART 2
Peter tried to get the suit with him but just when he grabbed it, he got back to the land of the dead.
"Only five seconds and you're already breaking my rule!" Hope snapped
Peter tried to get the blessing from Kate, Natasha, Pietro, Wanda and Harley but they were all too scared of Hope's shoe to give it. They tried to convince him to accept the condition mama Hope put, but Peter wasn't listening
"I have to go to the bathroom" he invented as an excuse to escape and search his great great grandfather to get his blessing and be able to turn into a superhero, because it was his dream and he knew his family wouldn't understand. Some guards saw him, but he evaded them all. He entered a room where he heard a conversation. In there, the same guy who failed to cross the bridge was being scolded by a police. The police explained him his charges and after leaving him go with a warning. Peter discovered the guy was a friend of Cross.
"Hey! You know Cross?" Peter reached him and turned the skeleton towards him
"What do you want?" The skeleton scoffed thinking it was a guard, before looking at Peter, shocked "ay ay, he's alive!"
Peter locked both of them on a phone cage and explained him
"Yes i'm alive! And i have to get a blessing from him!"
"That's weirdly specific!" The skeleton added
"He's my great-great-grandfather!"
"H-he's your great-great-what!" At this, the skeleton's eyes fell to his mouth and Peter let out an "ew"
When the man returned his eyes to his sockets, he went thinking for a minute, and he let out a happy "yes"
"You're from the living world! And you can put up my photo!" He softly shaked Peter
"Now that i think of it, it may not be a great idea" Peter left the cabine, but got the skeleton reached for him
"No no no, i'll help you! And you can help me! We can help each other!" He told the boy, who got spotted by his family that were behind the skeleton
"I'm Scott!" The skeleton -Scott- added
"Nice to meet you!" A nervous Peter interrupted, pulling him out to the exit. When Hope and the rest of the family arrived to the exit, they lost sight of Peter, so Hope had only one option. She whistled and suddenly, a giant ant alebrije named Ant-thony landed just on her side, smelling the petal Peter had touched to track him down. On another place, Scott was painting Peter's face like a skeleton.
"Look Peter, on the day of the dead everyone puts up your photo so you can cross the bridge, unless you're me" Scott pauses
"You haven't crossed?" Peter asked
"Well, nobody puts my photo, but you're gonna fix that!" Scott gives Peter a photo of him, when he was alive. He had the same long fluffy hair and the same shiny green eyes, but still, he looked kinda different.
"Muy guapo, eh?" Scott said, smiling proudly "so anyways, you don't have family here?" Scott asked
"Uhhh nope!" Peter answered nervously. The pair proceeded to walk through the town, Peter looking at all the stunning things and trying to blend in, when he saw that there was an anual show at sunrise where Cross would made a perfomance. Scott took the kid to a building, where he got scolded by a woman who was working on some dresses. Meanwhile, Cosmo decided to explore the place, chased by Peter, who got to meet the artist Ramonda, who asked him to give her his opinion of her perfomance for the show.
When Scott found him, they asked where to find Cross, only for him to get mocked by dying due to "choking on some orance slices" Still, they told Scott that there was a music contest to meet Cross at his pre-show party. Luckily, Peter knew to play the guitar.
Scott decided to get Peter the guitar. They arrived at a different place from the other houses. This place was very unkept and people wasn't as happy as the ones on the colorful side. After Scott met with some ladies and they gave him a bottle of whisky, he guided Peter to a shack, where there was another skeleton in even worse conditions than Scott.
"What's up Billy?" Scott said to the man
"Go away" The guy who looked nothing like a Billy but like a grumpy man said
"Ay Bill, i need to borrow something" Scott continued
"I need to borrow your guitar"
"My guitar? My precious guitar?!" Billy scrambled his guitar from Scott
"I'm gonna return it back" Scott answered
"Just like you returned my lasso Scott? My femur?" Bill revealed his whole leg, showing that he had a stick instead of a femur. Suddenly, Billy's bones glowed, and he fell away tired, worrying Scott.
"You're okay amigo?" Scott asked
"I'm fading Scott. Play a song for me"
"No no Bill, you know i don't play anymore, the guitar is for the kid"
"If you want that guitar, you must earn it" Bill quietly snapped.
Scott sighed and took the guitar to sing a soft song about a girl called Juanita. When Scott finished the song, Bill just laughed and suddenly, his bones glowed yellow again, slowly dusting away.
"What happened to him?" Peter softly asked when Scott was already taking him to the exit door
"Pete, when there aren't people who remember you or tell your stories, you fade away and nobody knows where. They call it, the final death. And there wasn't anyone left who could tell Bill's stories..." Scott was silent for a moment, but shaked his head "ah, it happens to everyone all the time. Keep going kid, you have a show to win"
