Little Girls (From the Annie [2014] Original Movie Soundtrack) - Cameron Diaz
I found this through TikTok cause so many people use it there lol
AU:
Nightmare was probably the best known Hero in the city, working for the official Hero's headquaters. And he wasn't just the best known, but also the best in general, which meant a lot of work for him. Nightmare - or Dream as his real name was - always worked. The hero association barely gave him a break, his friends always told him they'd work him to death.
But who else was fit to fight against the Blood God, making sure him and his syndicate wouldn't destroy the city. It was on his shoulder to make sure they wouldn't get any data about The End Portal. The portal that would lead you somewhere unknown, a place that is supposed to give you great power.
No one alive ever went through and came back, but they had old books and letters, notes of people who apparently went through and talked about a dragon like beast. They told of cities unreachable and a dark and evil energy.
The heros had to make sure the villains wouldn't ever get there and steal said power. It was to protect everyone and therefore Dream was fine with working himself to death.
Until the day the syndicate had managed to get into the archievs. Not even Dream was allowed into the deeper, more secret part. So when he got there he was shocked to see what the villains had found. Blue prints of a prison to hold villains and heroes?! One known to weaken them and steal their powers and there was a cell for everyone.
There was one for Dream, the most secure one. Blood God had shown him, told him that those heroes were the real monsters who were after the dark power. He had told him to join them, to help them reach their goal. But Dream declined, he was naive enough to believe that there must be an explanation.
Blood God had stared at him in silence before they all fled with the notes. Dream didn't care. When Quackity and Sam came up to him to yell at him he had questioned them. They weren't happy about it, said Dream shouldn't worry. But he did, cause there were cells for not only him but his friends, even for the youngest who had just started training!
Apparently too many questions were ask and Sam - The Warden - started attacking him. They made explosives go off, framing Dream for letting the Syndicate in and attacking the association. Every hero got ordered to hunt him down, to get them to the prison alive.
Dream fled, he had to fight against people he had called his friends, people he had trained and people he had fought side by side. Now they were against him. Heavily injured Dream was able to escape in a storm, using the chaos.
He had knowledge of where the syndicate usually was found, rumors of where to find them when you needed them to do something for you. So Dream went there, bleeding, in pain from the wounds and the betrayal. In a back alley he fell to his knees, wondering if he had gotten wrong information.
But then a shadow fell down on him and in front of him stood the Blood God, pig skull staring down at him. In that moment Dream realized how little his life was worth, that he had given it to the hero association and now he had nothing left, he was a nobody.
With tears in his eyes he started to beg, to plead his greatest enemy to end his life. He didn't want to live in a world where the people he had fought for all his life to be the evil ones. How could he? What was left to live for?
But instead of a sword at his throat, Dream felt a big cloak wrap around him, sheltering him from the rain. In front of him knelt Blood God, his red eyes visible through the holes in the skull. He told him that instead of giving up he should use this desperation - this rage - to help the syndicate.
Dream was asked to join them, a gloved hand held out for him. With only a bit of hesitation Dream accepted, holding the hand that pulled him up back on his feet. Blood God - or Technoblade how Dream would learn in the future - helped the injured man walk.
And just like that the greatest Hero and the greatest Villain joined forces to bring down the real evil.

Okay so I realized I havent postet dfo stuff for a while and I decided I need to change that. Actually I wanted to post this for a while now, but I have been a little busy and unmotivated recently. So here it comes. People who follow me or read my dfo posts know that I believe that the reason why afo/hisashi left "overseas" is because of all might. Because all might startet to become to much of an problem by actively trying to find afo and that put his little family in danger too. And while I still think this could be part of the reason why he left, for a few weeks now I think there was actually a different reason.
Now I think afo didnt leave because of all might and to protect his family (it still can play into that too), but because, knowing what afos goals and dreams are, his feelings for his family startet to affect him and hinder him in archieving his goals. Okay hear me out. Lets say for a moment the inko shimura theory is true (it also works if its not) then afos interest in inko makes perfectly sense. He most likely wanted to use her against all might but after a while.... things startet to become more complicated. Because afo startet to care or even like her romantically. If we go by the whole "40 year old maccalan" thing being a code word for inko, while the "16 year old maccalan" was confirmed to be a code word for izuku, its actually a big hint that afo has romantic feelings for inko, because @psychomurderz found out by checking the raws that afo speaks in a very soft and affectionate way about whoever that 40 year old maccalan is. Not his voice (because of course we cant hear his voice), but THE WAY he speaks. And only inko really fits the bill to be meant here, because who else should the aoyamas bring to him who fits the age and wouldnt be able to fight against afo? So if its really inko (and its most likely her) afo feels AT LEAST affection for her. Its also important to note that he asked for the "40 year old maccalan" FIRST and only after the aoyamas told him they can bring an 16 year old maccalan to him (= izuku) he agreed to it.
Well back to the point now, I think afo originally wanted to use inko against all might (if inko shimura is true) or play a little bit around with her and crush her little heart like he loves to do with people. But... things startet to change between them and all of a sudden he was a married man and just some time later there was a baby. This.... wasnt how things were supposed to go. But the real problem was that afo startet to ENJOY this. He startet to like to have a family again, to have a place to come back to and he could call "home". To be loved and missed when he wasnt there. Similar how it was once between him and his brother before everything went to hell.
I think its possible that at first afo was telling himself that this kind of life is just for a short while. A nice little break from all the villain stuff and that its not that serious, but more and more his growing love for izuku and inko startet to affect him and he startet to lose interest in his main goals, because his family was more important to him. And because the idiot he is, he told himself that he cant let that happen, because he needs to fullfill his life goals to make a "better world" and THAT was the reason he left. Not really to protect his family but because his love for them turned him more and more into "hisashi" and he LIKED it! And that isnt allowed to happen. BUT the thing is, despite leaving them, he is not able to forget them or stop loving them, so he still provides for them, still sends enough money for them to have a comfortable life so that inko doesnt need a job and can concentrate solely on izuku. So that both of them have at least each other.
There is also something very interesting going on here:
Tumblr media
Some people already pointed it out (even non dfo fans) but something here smells fishy. When afo says "thats all I ever wished for" it looks like as if he is "far away". As if he remembers something and his words are more to HIMSELF. As if he is reminding HIMSELF about "what he ever wished for."
He is telling himself "you want to obstruct the future of this world" (whatever that means) and NOT "you want to be hisashi midoriya and you want to go home to your family and you absolutely dont want to fight against your own son!"
So to come to an conclusion: afo didnt leave to protect his family from the heroes and to prevent all might to find out about them, but because afo wants to be the demon lord and his love for his family prevents him from archiving that! He is in conflict because he wants BOTH but is telling himself he only wants the demon lord part. Similar how darth vader wanted padme/luke but at the same time also wanted the dark side and rule over the galaxy. And at the very end he had to make the decision what he wanted more.

Comparison between Shadow of the Colossus and Dororo
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've been a Dororo fan for years now and I just recently played Team Ico's games for the first time. So, here I'll try to list things that Shadow of the Colossus and Dororo have in common. My theory is that Fumito Ueda was inspired by Osamu Tezuka's work and, vice versa, Ueda's works inspired the 2019 anime adaptation of Dororo. Now, if this was common knowledge, then my bad! If that's not the case, these will be just lots of comparisons. Spoilers ahead!
First of all, both Wander and Hyakkimaru have a goal, and they are determined to reach it, no matter what. Wander wants to bring Mono back to life, while Hyakkimaru wants to collect his bodyparts, that were taken by evil spirits at birth due to a contract his father made to gain power. The demons in Dororo are 48, which is the number of Colossi Ueda initially planned to have in his game.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now, we know that within the colossi lie severed segments of Dormin's body. As Hyakkimaru defeats a demon, he collects a body part back. So, both the fiends in Dororo and the Colossi in Shadow of the Colossus hold a piece of body. But while in Dororo once these creatures are slayed the body part goes back to its original owner, in Shadow of the Colossus Wander is the vessel of Dormin's body, which is collected through those dark trails that pierce him after each battle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
At the beginning of Dororo's original manga from 1967, Lord Daigo, Hyakkimaru's dad, enters a shrine and finds various devil statues. Here, he makes a contract with the evil spirits, the 48 devil gods. He seeks power, but the price to pay is the body of his own child. Doesn't that sound familiar? Wander also enters a shrine adorned with various idols, where he asks Dormin, the being that controls the souls of the dead, for Mono to be revived. But Dormin warns him that the price he'll pay would be heavy. Both the evil gods and Dormin, while promising what the human desires, ask for something important in return. They are also kind of making fun of the mortals for their requests.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'd also like to add that, as the Dororo manga continues and picks up with Hyakkimaru now being 14 years old, his lover, Mio, is already dead. We just see her through flashbacks, as the boy tells his story to Dororo. We don't know what's the relationship between Mono and Wander, but it's clear that he deeply cares about her, either as a lover, friend or sister.
(While I'm not sure if this is a fan speculation or not, wasn't an alternative ending gonna feature Mono come back to life but blind, and she would've slowly regained her eyesight? If this was an actual scrapped ending, it would literally reference a core theme in Hyakkimaru's journey).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for the rest, the two stories are completely different, but the beginning is pretty similar, at least in my opinion. I feel like Ueda could've been influenced by Osamu Tezuka's work. Back in 2019 a Dororo anime remake aired, a retelling of the story. Just like all the other Dororo adaptations, a lot of things were changed from the original manga. The 48 demons were cut to 12, and another major change is the additional grey morality that envelops the entirety of the show. In the original manga, Daigo wanted to be a powerful ruler and gave his son away without regret. Here, he seeks help from the demons to archieve that, yes, but his lands are being destroyed by famines and epidemics. While he has egoistical ambitions, he's also helping its people. As you watch the anime, you start to question: who is right and who is wrong? Who is truly evil here? Which are questions we all asked ourselves while playing Shadow of the Colossus. While you play, you know why you're slaying those Colossi, but you do start to wonder if you're really doing the right thing. They are just giant creatures, some peaceful if not attacked, and are the only inhabitants of the Forbidden Lands. Is Wander the true villain, is it Dormin, or is it Emon? Is there even a true villain at all, or just characters at cross purpouses?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In Dororo, you root for Hyakkimaru, deprived of his own body. But, as he kills more and more demons, the lands are yet again subjected to droughts and floods. And, on his first encounter with Lord Daigo, his father asks him to stop collecting his body for the sake of the lands. The morally grey character of Hyakkimaru, I feel like, could be inspired by Fumito Ueda's work. There's a major difference in the ending though. As Wander's journey makes him loose his humanity, Hyakkimaru's is the opposite. Withing him, he also has bits of evil spirits enbedded into his soul, much like Wander.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But while Hyakkimaru is plagued by doubts, and sometimes lets the demonic part of him loose, he ultimately reaches his goal to be whole again. With the death of all the demons, the natural disasters stop, starting a period of peace. He gets his humanity back, something that Wander only archieves after being reborn.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, this is totally just speculation, but the thing about Hyakkimaru's demon slaying causing illnesses and epidemics might be a reference to ICO. In the PS2 manual (at least in the italian one I own) it is stated that the horned children are believed to be cursed, bringing misfortunes to befall the villages. Another thing added to the 2019 anime adaptation of Dororo is the fact that with each evil spirit Hyakkimaru kills, the idol that represents it at the shrine (where Daigo made the contract) breaks. Which is literally what happens in Shadow of the Colossus.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I'd also like to add that Dororo also has a videogame adaptation for the PS2 called Blood will tell, that contains 48 fiends to defeat in order to retrieve Hyakkimaru's body parts. It came out just a year before Shadow of the Colossus did, and it's such a fun game. It has some amazing looking fiends and, fun fact, Blood will tell's japanese cover art is also a beautiful drawing (made by Hiroaki Samura), while the western box art is a 3D rendition of the main character, much like ICO. Though, not as ugly ;)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I can't tell if this game actually influenced Shadow of the Colossus or not, but it's pretty fun to spot the similarities between the two. The final boss, Behemoth, is the biggest out of the 48 fiends, and its fight is divided in various sections. In one of these, you have to stand on Behemoth's hand so that it can bring you close to its face to attack. It reminded me of the Malus fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In another section, you have to climb the fiend's back to destroy his weak spots, which are horns with a very familiar blue tint that shoot lightings. This reminded me a lot of Pelagia (but also of Basaran and Quadratus).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the last section features Behemoth charging at you while it flies, which of course reminded me of the Avion fight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thank you for reading all my yapping about pieces of media I love deeply! After not being able to find many comparison between Dororo and Shadow of the Colossus online, I just had to make one myself. This is my first time making a post like this, so I hope this isn't worded too badly—

“i know but even so all of us just have to push foward” hanji’s words keep echoing in erens ears.
floch’s arms are tight around him as he drags him away from armin but with a burst of strength that floch doesn’t expect he knees him in between the legs and makes his way back to the roof.
he isn’t a genius like armin. can’t command the scouts like erwin.
he isn’t special.
his only value is his ability to turn into a titan.
captain levi has the syringe against erwins arm but upon erens landing he gets up a murderous look in his blood covered eyes.
rod reiss had only needed a drop of the spinal fluid to turn into a titan.
if humanity needed erwin but mikasa and eren needed armin and there was only one titan shifter the answer was obvious.
captain levi would feed berthold to erwin and armin would die.
but eren can’t let that happen. he can’t have armin die. not kind smart armin who only ever wanted to see the ocean.
“i’m a titan shifter” captain levi stops in his tracks.
“we both know armin is smarter than me.” a look of understanding flashes over captain levi’s face. eren would maybe call it soft if he didn’t know better.
“in that syringe is enough to transform them both” captain levi stares into his eyes for a few seconds before turning around.
he doesn’t diminish him by asking him if he’s sure but just nods.
captain levi is just as human as the rest of them and he was on the verge of losing his friend or losing one of his squad members, his loyal comerade.
but he’s also a solider and he can see, just as clearly as eren had, the strategic value eren has in comparison to armin - if you discount the titan powers armin wins.
and what eren is offering. it’s tactically the best choice.
eren doesn’t care for that. he just wants- needs armin to live but that is the reasoning that will archieve this goal so he uses it.
armin is the lesser fighter so levi injects him first. maybe it’s also a kindness of him. this way he can see armin one last time.
captain levi moves to protect erwin and eren in case armin fixates on the wrong target but he immediatly grabs berthold and hungrily shoves him into his mouth.
there is a sick crunch of bones together with a cut of scream before steam errups from armins nape and he burts out, healthy as he had been just hours ago.
eren could cry from relief and because he will die soon he does. but he doesn’t want armin to see him die so he doesn’t rush over instead he turns to captain levi and nods.
*
levi doesn’t know what to do.
having erwin eat jaeger is the best choice but his mind is warring inside of him.
the part that loves erwin wants him to die, to be free of this aweful world, to finally be at piece, while the selfish love he holds tells him to keep erwin close, alive.
the part that hates erwin, for his machinations, for his part in isabel and farlans death, want to hold him accountable, to have him live in this world a little longer to have to deal with the mountain of corpses he’s standing on.
jaeger is standing in front of him. determination and relief practically radiating off of him, but levi can also see the fear in the tremble of his hands.
he knows whatever choice he makes will leave him guilty until he dies but he had long since sworn not to regret his choices.
he returns his nod at jaeger and because eren is still so young with his sixteen years he gives him a short hug.
it’s uncomfortable and he hates every second of it but this is for jaeger and it’s his apology.
jaeger seems grateful for it, if confused.
*
mikasa notices too late what happened.
hanji is dragging her away and she can hear eren struggling against floch some ways to her right.
she’s to numb to do anything. she just hangs there like a limp ragdoll, letting her grief fill her every bone, and doesn’t move even at the pained sound coming from floch.
hanji sets her down on a roof and she blindly stares at the roof armin is breathing his last breaths on.
she can see a blonde titan shove something in his mouth and wonders detachedly if they’ll go to the jaegers home now.
but then there is a second transformation and suddenly she notices that floch and eren aren’t on the roof with them.
but that means.
eren.
oh no.
the numbness gives part for raging grief and before anyone can react she is speeding towards the second blonde titan.
she doesn’t know if it’s armin or commander erwin. doesn’t know what she can do.
she just knows that she needs to get there before it’s too late.
*
eren is grateful.
after that bewildering but strangely comporting hug captain levi went over to erwin and injected his arm with the rest of the spinal fluid.
erwin transforms into a tiny titan, only three meter to armin’s ten, and eren makes his way over to him.
every cell in his body is screaming at him to run away, to kill the titan, to survive but he’s made his choice.
this is the price for armin’s life and he refuses to let it go unpaid.
he doesn’t move as erwin grabs him. doesn’t struggle as erwin shoves him into his mouth, doesn’t transform as erwin bites though his spine, doesn’t fight as his consciousness leaves him.
*
armin wakes to crying and warm arms around him.
he doesn’t know how he got here, the last memory he has is filled with berthold’s heat, but he knows he shouldn’t be alive.
when he opens his eyes there is mikasa.
behind her he can see jean, connie, hanji, levi and erwin.
he doesn’t see eren.
then hanji shifts and he can see erwins right arm. the arm he had lost to a titan.
armin shouldn’t be alive and he knows the only reason he is is that he has become a titan shifter.
but armin also knows that the only way to regrow an arm was to be a titan shifter.
there had been only berthold - they hadn’t managed to capture reiner.
but he can’t see eren.
he twists out of mikasas grip and throws up. he he hadn’t- couldn’t have- not not eren.
*
when erwin looks at levi he sees guilt.
but he als sees a resolution and a lack of regret.
what paints him is the hatred he also sees in levi’s gaze.
he hadn’t been very concious at the end of things but he remebers flashes.
a sting in his arm, levi and jaeger - so small before him, eren in his fist.
he knows what must have happened. understands it when he is told that arlert had almost died to take down the colossal titan.
he also understands that the reason he is alive is because levi had choosen hate.
years ago levi had sworn to kill him, hours ago levi had told him with pain in the eyes that he’ll finally have fulfilled his promise, minutes ago levi had told him with cold eyes that he was now a titan shifter.
*
mikasa had been too late.
as she had arrived erwin had pulled himself out of the second titan’s nape.
she would have broken down there but then movement had alerted her to armin.
so wonderfully alive and healthy.
eren was gone. it was an earthshattering pain that filled mikasa at the thought.
but mikasa had lost eren once before. back in trost she had resolved to stay alive to protect his memories, to ensure people knew he lived. if nothing else she would survive for this. but she had armin in front of her. he was retching and horrified and needed mikasa at that moment.
mikasa had been too late. eren was gone, this time there would be no miraculous return, but armin wasn’t.
and armin was in front of her and even if she had been to latelatelate for eren she could still help armin.

🗡🏳️‍🌈 colress?
🗡- Badass headcanon: Okay AU specific HC incoming since Colress works on researching the potential of Pokemon and how to unlock it to the fullest, he will not always insist on using the most invasive, quickest and therefore destructive options to archieve his goal. Some of his aproaches are slower and take the physiology and antomy of a Pokemon into account. What I want to say: sometimes he will just do stuff like giving Kuyrem physical therapy hours to help them with its fucked up wing and bad posture which enabled it to move more quickly and be more painfree. He will also try this kinda stuff on more common Pokemon like Psyduck and free them from their permanent headdache (these experiments incluede any Pokemon that has some kind of barier between itself and its fullest potential and Colress will try to lift it).
🏳️‍🌈- Orientation headcanon: Gay or bi! I don't overthink him as much but he definitly kisses men.

Would FF have been improved by the White Clad members having better motives? Atleast some of them? But I guess with the endgoal being death it wouldnt really work without them being "crazy". Maybe leaving it ambigious if merging with Adalla would just be a global suicide and not some transformation or transcendece would have improved it? Dunno, maybe this was the only way to archieve the theme (if it wasnt changed in the middle)
I think any motivations would have helped make these characters more memorable and engaging--not even sympathetic, just someone whose story I want to read.
What was Haumea’s motivation? It is defined so late in the story that I still, when re-reading, feel almost zero empathy for her. I wish there was a choice made to better show that she can hear too many thoughts, the thoughts being so much about dying just depressed her, so she wanted to stop hurting--and instead we have another potentially disablist “mad” character. This isn’t Stein where you see Stein still lives his life regardless his condition--this is just “insane character, so villain” trope.
It’s why your remark, that the goal being death wouldn’t work without them being considered insane? Yeah, that’s because that seems to be the actual plot of this series, that these characters are just losing their minds, thus that death is preferable.
But the story doesn’t do enough to make that seem like the option, for two reasons.
First, you can see that Haumea is the only one obviously feeling his death drive--and, not justifying her desire for death, but at least you understand, with that much pain, why ending her suffering is preferable, however insane it comes across.
But second, on the flip side to this, the way Haumea was defeated was by Shinra doing toxic positivity talk--because things weren’t so bad for him, so they shouldn’t be so bad for Haumea, so stop being “crazy”!
…That’s not how this works.
Haumea is in pain. The way to address her mental illness is not to say, “Things are great for me, I don’t get why they aren’t for you, just listen to me and your parental figure Charon and stop destroying things!’ At best, Shinra just finally says, “Look, I’ll re-make the world where you don’t have your ability, Haumea, and that will stop your suffering and somehow ‘cure’ your decades of trauma!” That is not how responding to trauma works. (Please forgive me for conflating insanity and trauma--these two are not the same.) Living after trauma is a lifetime of adjusting each day to that trauma--and this shonen just takes the most cliche approach to act like Haumea just gets better from  it.
What was Charon’s motivation? Again, I wish it was telegraphed more clearly that he saw himself as Haumea’s parent, because until we see him tending to a baby Haumea, he just came across as the guy who has to hang out with a younger coworker. (I am avoiding discussing that last scene of the two, given how people read that romantically--which, blech, no.)
What was Lisa’s motivation? We know Lisa got here because she didn’t want to become an Infernal like her parents--so…she gets bit by one of Giovanni’s bugs on purpose to unlock her powers, when said bug could have infernalize her anyway, and…I guess she was fine with the blame to turn the world into a new Sun, killing everyone?
At least Sho was raised in a cult, so that is easy enough to bypass. What was Arrow’s origin story? Was it the same?
Honestly, given what my friend and I write, you can have enough original characters and the explanation just be, “This is a cult, they are desperate to belong,” and have that be enough motivation to work. The problem is, once you have those cultists learn this plan is going to kill them, there is no way you don’t have some characters bail on this plan, whether because that is realistic (“I don’t want to die, I just wanted to belong”) or because that makes your story more interesting (it introduces conflict within the ranks of the Clads, it potentially weakens them to help it make sense how the good guys can manage some minor victory against a conspiracy that includes the entire government and the entire state religion).
I think that ties into your point, that maybe leaving it ambiguous what the Clads had planned would have been better--because then you are just kicking that can down the road until the big reveal. But to make that work, you need to show that the Clads were a place that you get why these people were here. My friend does a great job writing Clad original characters where you get why they are here and feel that sense of belonging--you don’t have to agree with their actions, but you get how this is a found family, however toxic it is. It’s like the first live-action Ninja Turtles: you get how the Foot was able to con these teenagers into committing crimes, because the Foot was targeting wayward youths like Daniel who felt they didn’t belong.

when dan speaks about his family you can hear how the tone of his voice changes. He couldn’t fly to australia to spend holidays with them and nearly cried on the team presentation when they showed a video of his nephew. That and the frustration while trying to understand the car, being in a new team, getting older.... sometimes i wonder if he’s doing ok. i just hope that everything gets better for him, he deserves all good always

hi!! could you write a vinnie x reader where they’re just lating in bed with sweats and hoodies talking about their future? i just see vinnie as a really soft hearted guy! thank you🖤
a/n — i got so excited when i got this request, i love fluff so much! and i definitely agree with you. i focused on vinnie talking about the future cause with my idea i would had to put goals for the reader but that what would make y’all individual, which is why vinnie is a full on simp and 100% considerate boyfriend but i hope you still enjoy it! <3
JOGGERS AND HIS HOODIES
type — hardcore fluff
pronouns — none used
warnings — talk about reader being pregnant
summary — a pinterest photo discovered by y/n leads to vinnie revealing his plans for the future, which revolve around her being with him
vinnie had one of his hands in the pockets of his black hoodie that you were wearing while the other one caressed your cheek softly. your back was pressed against his chest since you two wanted to be as close to each other as ever possible. the feeling of his presence made you smile as you scrolled through your pinterest feed for the what it felt like the 10th time this day but neither you, nor vinnie, who was looking at the pictures with you, sometimes even commenting looks or pointing out when he thought they’d look good on you, got bored by it.
you had come across a picture of a big white dress, that looked simple and only had a few magnolias spicing it up. it gave you major fairy vibes and you wanted to buy it. vinnie saw how you stopped scrolling and noticed the way you were looking at the dress, leading him to stop carressing your cheek and take a closer look at it.
“it’s beautiful, isn’t it?”
“imagine you wearing this on our wedding day, maybe even pregnant. you’d look stunning”, he mumbled and kissed your cheek. you felt your face heat up when you realized what he had just implied.
“our wedding day? do you think we’ll get married at some point?”, you put your phone away and turned slightly to see him better. he had a soft smile on his face as he nodded and his curls bounced.
“do you not? i mean, i wouldn’t want to get married to anyone else, to be honest”, he admitted and leaned on his underarm, his hand wandering from your face down to your hip where he left it.
“i would love to get married at some point, vinnie. do you think about this a lot?”, you wondered and used your right hand to play with his hair. vinnie shifted a bit more so that he was now kind of hovering over you.
“yeah, i do all the time. i always have you on my mind, love”, a small kiss was shared between the two of you before he continued. “but when i really have time to think about it, i think everything through. first i wanna make sure that you can archieve your dreams, whatever they are. like graduating college or traveling to some specific place, you get it and when you did that, i will propose to you. why not earlier you’re asking? because i don’t want it to become a stress factor for you. you’ll probably manipulate yourself into thinking our marriage would be more important than your dreams and your well being, which is not the case, by the way. anyways, we will get married whenever we want to, this is not a decision i wanted to make without you, even if it is only in my head”, you interrupted vinnie to give him a quick peck on the lips.
“thank you, babe. but uhm.. where was i? oh right, marriage. we will get a cat at some point and then we can also have children, maybe even adopt some? but it’s up to you, it’s your body that will have to go through all the pregnancy stuff. have i mentioned that we will move into a suburb? because we’ll do that too!”, vinnie finished his long idea of your future and smiled at you, obviously satisfied with that.
your eyes had gotten a little watery, hearing how your boyfriend put you first in almost everything he had told you about. vinnie noticed that, took your hand playing with his hair in his and placed a few kisses on your knuckles.
“that’s.. the ideal future, vinnie. how do i even deserve you?”, you mumbled and pulled him down to your lips to kiss him passionately. the kiss lasted for multiple seconds
“y/n, i will always put you first and i know that you’d do the same for me too. you’re really special and i’m glad that i have the luck to be in your life. until our future starts we can just chill in joggers and my hoodies, alright?”
“yes! god, i love you so much.”

You know what I am really fucking tired of seeing in popular media?
The "evil, hysterical woman in power" trope. The clichè that potrays women who are in a position of power as overzealous, unhinged, power hungry maniacs who are a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
Female leaders are shown as less resonable and down to earth as their male counterparts, and are often villainized by either the fandom or the narrative of the story itself. They are doomed to fail because of their womanliness and need to be taken down before they enact their evil plans, preferably by a man, or a woman who performs the 'right' kind of femininity.
This trope relies on the sexist misconception that women are more fragile than men, more emotionally unstable and unpredictable.
"Women aren't cut out to be leaders, they should be nurturing and supportive and tend to their families. Having higher aspirations is against their nature and will eventually break them and drive them crazy."
That type of bullshit that was designed to keep women out of leadership positions and keep oppressing us. To keep us quiet and submissive.
Here are a few examples to further explain this stereotype:
Tumblr media
Daenerys Targaryen is one of the most well known characters to fall victim to this trope. She is an abuse and rape victim, seeking to change the current social and political systems of the world because she knows how many people suffer under its injustice. ("Crush the wheel.")
For all her compassion and charity she has shown over the series, the writers decided that it would be reasonable for her to go crazy at the end of the show and, despite promising she wouldn't inflict more damage than necessary, kill thousands of innocent people whose government had already surrendered to her.
And guess who had to kill her in the end? Yup, another man. Her love interest, who was "forced" to betray her.
Tumblr media
Next, we have:
Tumblr media
Morgana Pendragon, from "Merlin". To remind you, she is an abuse victim who had to endure her father's controlling behavior and bigoted attitude towards people with magic abilities which, suprise suprise, she turned out to have. She had to watch as her father murdered and oppressed people just like herself, and when she challenged that behavior, he would come down hard with punishment. (Going so far as to actually throwing her in the dungeons for a couple days.)
Eventually, she rebelled against the corrupt system and had her genocidal father killed. She led a rebellion against Camelot after Uther's son (Arthur) continued to oppress magicians under his reign, and sought to create a better future for herself and her people.
So far so good, right? Well, no. The problem here is that she is the antagonist of the story. She is portrayed as being in the wrong for not quietly taking the injustice and watching it happen.
Halfway through the show, she becomes obsessed with power and status and desperately chases after the throne of Camelot. She is extremly vindictive, manipulative and cruel to others to archieve her goals. She is a "hysterical woman" who is out of control, emotionally unstable, challenges the patriarchy, and therefore needs to be defeated.
Her death was portrayed as tragic, yet absolutely necessary.
Tumblr media
(Of course it had to be a man who killed her.)
Tumblr media
Azula is the epitome of this horrid, misogynistic trope. She is a fierce, ambitious leader and highly skilled fire bender, respected and feared among her people. She is highly driven and succeeds at almost everything she sets her mind to.
Ever since she came into this world, she was better at everything than Zuko. She was a better fighter than him, a better bender, better strategist, better child. And that is precisely the reason why she had to lose in the end.
Despite coming from the exact same circumstances as Zuko, the story and the fandom at large see Azula as way less redemable and likable than him. Even though she is an abuse victim whose own mother hated her and is a literal child soldier, she doesn't get any sympathy from the protagonists of the story. The otherwise so understanding and wise Iroh even calls her "crazy", (which is, if you've done some basic research into misogynistic expressions, really fucking problematic.) and tells Zuko that there is no saving her. Why? He doesn't tell, but it's obvious that the writers made him say this because of their own internalized sexist beliefs. She isn't offered a way out of her toxic environment like Zuko was. She didn't get the support from Iroh because he had already given up on her.
To top it off, she has a nervous breakdown near the end and loses her remaining sanity. Because, you know, "She's craaaazy!! And SO unstable!! Typical woman." (Not to mention how this further stigmatizes mental illness and portrays it as something only evil people get.)
She was supposed to become the next fire lord, a position that carries utmost power and influence. Of course, such authority could not be given to a woman. That's why Zuko, a man, gets to be the next fire lord, and we are left assuming Azula will be spending the rest of her days in prison.
The writers assume the audience detests Azula and wants her to suffer. She doesn't deserve a happy ending, or the love and support that Zuko got.
Why? Because she poses a threat to the status quo, the patriarchy. She challenged the belief that men had to be the best and most efficient at everything they do, that women could indeed be better leaders and be happy with having a career and not be nurturing, motherly figures to the men in their lives. And for that transgression, for breaking gender stereotypes, Azula was punished.
(It's also why Katara, someone who performs the "right" kind of femininity by being nurturing, motherly, supportive, healing, doting, and is the care taker of the group, ends up taking Azula, the evil and perverted form of femininity, down. I believe @batboyblog has made a similar post about this.)
Tumblr media
This is Carmilla from the popular Netflix show "Castlevania", and if you've payed attention to my previous points, it should be pretty obvious what her character represents and how her story ends.
Note that she is also an abuse and rape survivor who is represented as evil and cruel for being angry at what was done to her.
To top it off, she is also an example of the man hating woman stereotype, whose anger at the misogyny and sexism of the world is portrayed as an "overreaction" and as "too much".
Tumblr media
At the end of the story, she had to be taken down by another man (Isaac) so that the status quo could be preserved, and the reign of a crazy bitch like her could be stopped. Horay, the day is saved from yet another unstable, selfish woman who would have brought suffering and pain over her country if allowed to rule. Hysterical women with their demand for equality.
Conclusion:
In all these examples, we can see female abuse victims thriving for power and status, for respect, being represented as something negative and something to avoid. Trying to fundamentally change a system that is rigged against women/female representing people is a fruitless endevour that will eventually fail and drive us crazy, because our minds aren't strong enough to handle this type of responsibility and status.
Holding on to anger and bitterness over what was done to us is the sign of a bad person, and the only morally acceptable path is to forgive/ignore our abusers and let the injustice continue to happen.
Strangely enough though, that same gaslighting, victim blaming mentality gets almost never applied to male characters. Men who seek vengeance are never portrayed as weak or crazy for giving in to the wish of changing a corrupt system/killing bad people. (Batman, the Punisher, Hawkeye, John Wick, Jason Todd, Erin, Scar from FMAB, Iron Man, and so on)
The reason why these stereotypes almost never apply to men but almost always to women is sexism. There is no other explanation for this. These tropes were specifically designed to make society believe that women aren't cut out for leadership positions and are happiest with domestic, easy tasks like watching after our children and taking care of the household.
Women who are angry, women who are dominant are to be feared and distrusted. They are represented as a danger to the general public and need to be taken down before they enact their evil plans.
Feel free to add further examples.

I think one of the reasons I love dream smp so much is because of their concept of who is in the right and who is in the wrong. It's much more complex than one might think. Because everything considered, everyone is right!
Aka me talking about morality in dream smp for longer than I should, enjoy:
The storytelling in the dream smp is very different from traditional storytelling. The author writes the story and guides it's reader through the narrative and giving them the information for the reader to reach their own conclusion. Of course anyone can obtain their own unique takeaway from a story, but dream smp isn't like that. You aren't seeing one story from hand-picked perspective, but from several points of view through the eyes of each character.
This causes for people to have very different opinions about who's in the right and who's in the wrong. You are presented with so many characters with different arcs and ways of thinking, and who you watch affects your opinion of the story. For example, quite obvious but I mostly watch Tubbo's streams, when Tubbo exiled Tommy to me it seemed like the best course of action, obviously Tubbo is doing his job by protecting the nation, which was given by his friends and he swore to protect. What I saw was a conflict with an, albeit heartbreaking, easy solution, but it was the best way to preserve peace, the thing Tubbo wants for his country. But on the other hand, viewers of Tommy and those who sympathized with him saw this as Tubbo betraying him instead of Tubbo keeping his word to Tommy. Which isn't wrong! His best friend shouted at him and kicked him from the country he sacrificed so much for. Tommy absolutely SHOULD feel betrayed, his friend doomed him to a horrible fate which almost ended horribly, all to prevent conflict which was bound to happen anyway. So... They are both right.
A more recent example is Tommy's "betrayal" of Techno. I think Tommy was in the right to leave Techno's side, he's siding with someone who deeply hurt him and is plotting for the mass destruction of land and people he loved, Techno's path is very similar to Wilbur's..... and he doesn't want to be like Wilbur. But Techno is very much justified in feeling hurt by this. Tommy once again used him as a weapon to archieve his own goals, and when it was time for him to return the favor he backed out. From Techno's perspective, he's trying to save L'manberg's people, free them from the oppressive clutches of government, but he's instead looked at as a villain.
While I don't agree with Techno's way of doing things, he objectively right, he isn't a villain and truthfully .... No one is a hero or a villain in the story of the dream smp, Tubbo isn't bad for putting a nation over Tommy, tommy isn't bad for turning his back on Techno, Techno isn't bad for following his goals while being very transparent about them. All of them and everyone else in the smp has their own sense of morality and own ideals, in the end they all want freedom and happiness, they just have their own way of archieving that goal. No one is objectively wrong in this. No white and black, but shades of grey.
Everyone except Dream tho lol fuck that guy

can you please do stray kids felix past life?
Past Life Serie: The Secrets Of Reincarnation
Past Life Serie, is a Serie where we discover the past life of a member before he reincarnared in this life we know today. As always I’ve used tarot and oracles to cover as much as I could ❤️ hope you guys will enjoy ! Remember to take this with a grain of salt, and don’t judge! A lot of People take this belief seriously so be respectful and just have fun !
Side note: you are free to request for other idols. If you wanna know about yourself please contact me on twitter. Also past life readings are longer and more difficult to do, thus the rules are different than usual readings that I give
Felix
Tumblr media
Sex:
Female
Looks:
Average height with green eyes and dark hair. He was incredibly beautiful and sensual, someone with nice skin and smile. Honestly such a powerful and attractive aura. He was also extremely clever and knew how to use his beauty
Astrological Sign:
Gemini with Taurus Rising
Their Past Life:
Felix was someone that during his lifetime had various opportunities to change his life and path. He would took a path and if he ever felt like he wasn’t satisfied, life gave him other opportunities to change instead of having to cope with his choices
I do feel like people had the tendency to think he was simply a pretty face when in reality he was so intelligent. He quickly adapted to his environment and he would use that “obliviousness” of others to manipulate them and get them on his good side. Felix powerful woman indeed
It’s interesting to see that he has been victim of his own beauty as well. There’s so many overwhelming feelings coming from this, like he had to basically marry this person for the sake of his family and well being.
I do feel like it was hard times for him, but all of his efforts and struggled paid of. He was concious that it was a bad period he had to go through in order to archieve happiness later
So yeah basically after he got the stability needed, Felix was able to get away from this person. He became a very wealthy woman, with a status, someone that used his cleverness well and for the good of his family and happiness
His heart was tamed by another man, someone I believe was a romantic soulmate. In any case he had such a deep connection with them that people could mistake them for twin flames
He lived happily. That’s honestly the best ending I could have hoped for anyone. Felix was happy until his last breath
How Many Times Have They Lived?:
16
Karmic Chains:
Felix has a very commun chain which basically relies him through the spiritual world by prayer. His prayers and wishes are powerful manifestation tools and he is able to get what he wants in life through that
However in order to be able to archieve his goals he must also follow the flow of life. This karmic chain is attached to the first one. You want something? Okay you manifest it but then you need to follow down this particular path to get it
Tea Facts:
He was very submissive to this first man he was with. It was someone quite authoritative with deep convictions and Felix had many times swallowed his words to keep himself safe
He literally ran way from this man. Like I’ve 4 oracles cards that are all about this “runaway” energy . He knew that he needed to leave far away and break the relationship he had with this man, hardcorely in order to be free from them
Like I’ve said before, he is someone that went through many transformations during his life. He changed a lot of “skin” to fit in. It makes me think of a snake, like there’s a strong energy like that so the snake was probably is tottem animal in this past life
He never showed it but he was someone sensitive that was gifted with a great compassion and empathy. He did a lot of things to protect and save himself but he mostly did it to also protect the ones he loved

I have a hard time believing that AFO loves Izuku and Inko more than anything if DFO is canon, because if he did then why leave to fight All Might? He knew ahead of time that All Might was getting closer to him, so why didn't he decide to run away with his family to somewhere better and just give up his criminal empire? He could've done it if he tried, but he didn't he just went and faced him.
I already answered a similar ask once, so here is a link about my "afo loves his family" meta. Warning its pretty long. 😅
About why afo didnt took inko and izuku with him. Well, first we dont know yet if all might was the reason he left (maybe he left because his love for inko and izuku was starting to affect him in archieving his dreams, because he lost interest in his goals) and second we dont know WHEN exactly afo left. Was it pre potatohead or after? Because if afo left AFTER the head injury it makes perfectly sense why he wouldnt take his family with him, right? What was he going to tell inko how he got the head injury? And if not, maybe afo believed hiding them in plain sight from the heroes was a better move. No hero in his right mind, would guess that japans nr 1 super villain would hide his family so near to ua, the heart of japans hero society. We just dont know yet WHEN afo left. Was izuku still a toddler, was it before or after izuku was declared quirkless? We dont know!
What we DO KNOW is that afo tried to FLEE in his fight with all might and that izuku was around 9 years old at that point. In this fight afo gave all might his terrible stomach injury, but instead of finishing him or lets say keeping him barely alive to obtain ofa, afo tried to RUN AWAY! He almost killed all might but DIDNT keep fighting and instead tried to get away while all might just lost half of his stomach. It was all might who managed to follow afo despite his terrible state and punched his face off. Also there is something very interesting going on here:
Tumblr media
You can see that afo is not wearing his usuall black suit and pants. He wears casuall clothes. A (most likely) white shirt and pants with a light colour. He was in civil clothes. Include the fact that afo was trying to flee and was obviously in some kind of panic. He was cut off guard by all might showing up. So my guess is that at that time afo was either with his family, or at least near them (lets say he was on his way home) and all mights attack surprised him, so he took his feed in his hands and lured all might away from their home (interestingly afo did exactly the same thing in kamino, by luring all might away from the kids hiding behind the wall just a few meters away from them). About the part why afo doesnt give up his empire for them. Afos empire and his rule is a way to protect his family. Because if he is the ruler over the world NO ONE can harm them or take them away from him. Ultimate protection. Also its a dream afo had for a long time now, so of course he wouldnt just give it up and instead would try to find a way how he can have both! That was already his kind of thinking with yoichi back then. We also need to remember that afo is a very VERY selfish bastard! "Everything is for ME!" He also said about himself that he is a kleptomanic. "If I see an interesting quirk, I want it for myself. I just cant help it." (Its the negative effect of his quirk on his psyche, turning his owner into a very greedy and power hungry person). And I think this kleptomanic part of him also includes other thinks as quirks. He likes to have a family, even loves them, so he wants to "keep" them. Their are his possession. But I believe that at the very end afo has to make an decision what he wants more or what he wants to protect more. His "demon lord" dream ruling over the world OR his family, because its pretty clear he cant have both, no matter how much he trys to make it happen.
Also the story needs a counterpart for endeavor. Endeavor "the hero" choose his hero carrier and to protect strangers OVER his family and treated them like trash. Was a terrible father and husband.
Afo/hisashi "the villain" chooses his family over EVERYONE else and wants to rule over the world to make sure they are safe and under his protection (and to turn the world into a "better place"). Before he left "overseas" he was a good and loving father and husband.
Things now are more complicated, because he needs to take ofa from izuku and that wont happen without izuku putting up a fight. Afo showed zero mercy towards any other past ofa user, not even en, who seems barely older then izuku (I guess mirios age) and when all of them STILL had ofa. He left banjo and en to die when he realized he couldnt steal ofa from them. He was ready to give ofa up. ONLY with izuku he is hesistant to the point that him using AIR CANON, one of his most destructive moves and the very attack he destroyed half of best jeanist lungs with, didnt even left a scratch on izuku, just pushed him back and INSTEAD it was afomuras hand bleeding, because afo surpressed the truth power of the attack.

On the great selfishness of forced “reconcilliation”or, what’s in it for me? (A Thinkpiece)
It’s very clear and easy to see what he would get out of it: A great relief to his ego, self-image and pride. A feeling of attaining his goal. He’d no longer have to explain to himself or anyone why his daughter isn’t speaking to him. He would be more comform with the image and values he wants to attain. He would have piece of mind.
I’m even gonna be generous and grant that he would feel happy about the connection and being able to show his love, though I personally don’t buy it.
But what do I get?
A common retort here tends to be that I’d get “peace of mind”, and I grant that this can be true for a person who hates conflict and feels distres from disharmony, but I am really quite comfortable with some conflict. I don’t care to be friends with everyone. I get that not everyone will like me, and I’m fine with that.
It’s actually rather arrogant for someone to inflate their own importance to the point that they think your mentsal wholeness, hapiness and peace of mind depends wholly on themselves - like all your other relationships, your job,  your hobbies and any self-improvement efforts you might be  doing don’t matter at all. It’s jarring that anyone would think claiming that would make you forgive them, especially if your initial complaint was that they are arrogant and treated you as an extension of themselves rather than a whole person. They’re claiming that they changed and in the same breath showing that they still think your life revolves around them, that they get to have the relationship by default without ever having to build it.
And even such a person for whom forgiveness would bring piece of mind could just forgive the person in the quiet of their own heat for their own betterment without reestablishing relations. They wouldn’t be keeping to themselves because of a grudge, but simply because there is no good reason to connect.
Do you need a reason?
Well, if you didn’t, then you would have to connect to every single person who has not given you reason to loathe them. That’s impossible.
Consider that there are seven billion human beings on this planet. Most of them I will never meet. I couldn’t be friends with all of them even if I wanted. We all have limited time and energy. So, I have to pick some.
And to pick all the ones who just happen to be nearby seems like leaving a very important part of your life up to randomness. Your social contacts, after all, influence what values ideas you’re exposed to and what kind of support is available to you, and what experiences and energies you invite into your life.
It makes sense to first consider your family: They’re already nearby, you get to know them very well by virtue of living together, they’re biologically programmed to get attached to you, and they are likely to have things in common with you.
So if you know nothing else, it makes good sense to assume that a family member is a good candidate for a social contact.
But there are also family members who are NOT good choices for company. I think most of us can agree to this as a principle at least for extreme cases like rape.
So, it’s rather like this: A family member is a good candidate for social contact unless proven otherwise.
If we were like god who can be everywhere at once and needs nothing and never gets tired, then maybe we could be friends with everyone who is not an irreedemable sinner, but I am not god.
Any relationship costs time and energy. Yet, this can be very worthwhile, because human relationships also have great benefits.
For a relationship to be worth keeping up, the benefits have to equal or outweigh the work.
In our christianity-influenced culture it is still considered shameful to admit that you “want” something out of a relationship, but really, all of us do - that’s why we start and maintain relationships. Not being aware of that makes us blind.
By ‘benefits’ I don’t just mean shallow things like sex, attention or status. If you are longing for deep, meaningful experiences, that’s your benefit. If you love to give and see others thrive, that’s your benefit.
And I don’t mean that as a clever gotcha or as some cynical assertion that all relationships are inherently transactional, but as an useful mental framework to make oneself aware of the desired end result and check if one’s actions are in accordance with that.
If you want your children to trust you, you can’t judge and humiliate them when it’s convenient because that destroys the trust that keeps them listening to you & sustains the relationship. In the book “7 habits of extraordinaryly efficient people” this is called Production vs. Production Capacity or “The Goose and the Golden Egg”.
And don’t get me wrong, nortmally, there are great benefits to keeping in touch with your parent as an adult:
They typically have more ressources and are more advanced in their careers, so they can help you if you’re in trouble
They might be wiser, more experienced and more mature than you, so they can give you valuable advice
And lastly, you have all the benefits you’d get from any close social bond: Companionship and emotional support. They can listen to your woes, share you joy, you can tell them your thoughts, liven up your everyday life, and they can also introduce you to new ideas and viewpoints, and motivate you to go beyond your comfort zone. What’s more, being with a loved one can give you a feeling of meaning and community all on its own. Just seeing them on its own can make you feel happy, satisfied and meaningful. They don’t even need to do anything. They might be interesting and loveable and just all around enjoyable to be around and fill your heart with warm fondness.
People who have even 1 decent parent should be aware how lucky they are compared to ppl with no parents or two unforgiveable asshat parents. Every time you spend a good time with your parent, think of all the orphans, thrown-out gay kids etc. who don’t have that. Having a nice parent who supports you well into adulthood is a cause for great gratitude.
But now let’s look at an abusive jerk parent.
Could I get material support? No, because it comes with a proce tag of emotional distress. You will be guilt tripped even for the baby wipes that wiped your newborn butt! Super not worth it. If I wanted to pretend to like someone for money, I would just open an onlyFans, it’d be much less stressful
Could I get valuable advice? Is he wise? No. He is a fool. All his opinions are copypasted from rightwing websites. H e was telling us to heard hydroxy last year. Is he mature? He has the maturity of a toddler My 20 year old sister is a hundred times more mature.
Could I get emotional support? No, you have to walk on eggshells around him
Could i share my thoughts? No. he flies into a range if anyone voices any opinion that isn’t to his liking
Could we have fun together? No. He hates my lifestyle and values, and I loathe his. I think his politics are deeply immoral and he probably thinks the same about mine. We have zero interests in common. He only ever mocked my music and interests and tried to force me into sharing his so that I now associate them with bad memories. I would never be friends with such a person normally.  I would count to ten so that O don’t waste time having pointless arguments with them on youtube comments.  He says people like me are destroying Europe and that we are lazy degenerates. And this is assuming I believe that he didnt mean all the other outrageous things hes since made flimsy pretend apologies for.
Could I relax around him? No. I’m rather efficiently pavlov trained to associate him with pain and humiliation. Speaking to him tires me alot. It would cost me much, much more effort than any other relationship, and much time I could be spending doing useful things or interacting with people that I don’t have bad blood with & that don’t trigger emotional flashbacks with their mere presence
Would I enjoy being near him? No. He has zero traits that I like, value or enjoy. I absolutely do not enjoy being near him. I might have suffered him to touch me as I child because I was told to by my mother whom I trusted, but it was always with fear. He’s also never shown much signs of being interested in me. He would always yell at me if I entered a room and cried and whined about what a burden and a punishment I was. That is, except for making me take courses so he could then brag about having a child that does this & that, ignoring my wishes completely. In effect he brushed my real instincts and personality aside to mold me into his fantasy of having a child prodigy, exerting extreme pressure, and then humiliated and abused me when I remained a perfectly ordinary, non-genius child.
None of the normal reasons for having a social bond is present. There are only downsides for me: I have to shut up, bottle up my feelings, play nice, censure my thoughts etc.
I could see the point of doing that for a boss who pays me money, or to get into a social group that gets me prestige and energy, or maybe to get along with the friends and family of spouse I love and enjoy.
But what do I get here?
I mean, I’m not a child. I get that you sometimes have to play nice to get paid or archieve a cause. But my private relationships in my private life should be pleasurable. It’s where I go to recover from the work where fakery maybe can’t be avoided.
So why, why in the name of god would I ever chose THIS person to spend time with out of all the seven billion humans on earth? Aside from murderesrs, rapists and evil politicians, he’s probably among the worst choices.
Obviously this “reconcilliation” could only benefit him. There is no joy for me, no benefit. It’s purely letting myself be used for his ego like he has always done for the first 20 years of my life. If he was capable of providing the benefits normally associated with having a father, he would have done so already.
Considering that the whole problem was that he used me to fill his needs instead of thinking about my needs like a parent is supposed to, it’s insuit to injury and salt in the wounds.
And if I wanted such benefits, I would have much better odds of getting them by trying to find a mentor, tutor, life coach, therapist,  friend etc. who is an older male.
So why would I believe that he is changed if in the next breath he makes such a profoundly, deeply selfish request?
If anything it shows me that he still doesn’t have the capacity to consider things from my PoV and see me as an adult independent human with logic, feelings and will.
This is not about not wanting to make the effort. No one makes an effort for effort’s sake; They do it because something worthwhile is at the other end.
There is nothing for me to gain here, nothing at all.
I see the point of making an effort to salvage a once good relationship that has gotten sour because of mistakes: The hope is that you can have that good relationship once again, or even a better, more evolved version of it.
But here there was never any good to begin with, and any hypothetical good that come in the future is questionable and dubious from past experience.
If he come then and ask, “Then what is he supposed to do then?” that would just be proof of that same objectifying mindset, that he just need to throw some coins in and out pops a relationship.
You’re just going to have to live with the consequences of your actions, just as I do every day.
Once upon a time when I was younger, I might have said “show real interest in me”, there’s people that know me that you can ask. Heck, I’ve got an internet presence. Nowadays, I do NOT want that. I’ve learned not to let him have any information or acess about me because I’ve seen time and time again that it will just be used as ammunition to clubber me. The benefit of the doubt is fucking gone.
But I have always believed in free will & not putting people into fixed unchangeable categories like, say, “narcissist” that give themselves easily to easy juddgement and fundamental attribution & stigmatize mentally ill people. It’s much more sensible to label behavior.
So in the name ofintellectual integrity, I’m going to try & name something that might lead me to reconsider. Not immediately agree, because that would presuppose that he’s entitled to it somehow. Just think about it.
It’s really pretty simple: Actually change.
When I visit my mother and don’t have to witnesses her getting yelled at, pressured and emotionally blackmailed over the phone, when my younger sisters tell me of all the great quality time theyare spending and how much he listens and cares about their feelings, when he behaves like he understands what he did, maybe then I’ll believe.
But as of now it seems about as unlikely to me as a giant sucker on the backside of Pluto. I can’t prove 100% it isn’t there, but it seems unreasonable to live my life assuming it exists.
99% sure isn’t the same as 100% sure, but both those things are very different from 0%. then again its a pretty common trope of far right rhetorics to act like every degree of uncertainty is the same

💢 and 💓?
aplecherry i love you i can always count for you when doing this stupid games
also this is so much longer that i had planned so,,, take a seat
Ship that is most misunderstood
this is stupidly controversial but like,,, caleo
so like, i get if you don't like the mischaracterization of calypso in hoo, she is, indeed, really different from the calypso we see in botl. also, i haven't read toa, but i've seen that rr made them fight a lot and are just straight up a toxic couple. i won't blame you if you don't like them. i honestly have the most love/hate relationship with riordan's books than any media i have ever consumed. i get it.
but like,,, the three chapters of leo in ogigya took my breath away. all of house of hades, honestly, took my breath away. if you're going to read the riordanverse, do it for that book and the last olympian. i was unable to stop reading, they're incredible.
leo's story is a really tragic for me, wich is ironic, since he is a character we often asossiate with his sense of humor. his first years of life are probably the only happy ones he got to live, together with his mother, talking morse code and making inventions, till Hera appeared in his life as a baby sitter, and started to "train" him to archieve his best potential. she literally put him in a chimeny, on fire, it wasn't going to hurt him, but he was a child, he didn't know about his fire powers. i can't even begin to imagine what type of mark that type of experience must have left.
then? you know what happens? his mothers dies in a fire, and his entire family refuses to take care of him because "he's a devil". he thinks, as a child, that his fire powers killed his mother. that HE killed his mother. he's sent to different orphanages but always runs away at month 4 or 5. in the last hero he says that he lived in sewers for MONTHS. he doesn't let himself have a family. he stops using his powers. god forvids they get too close and sets themselfs on fire.
as for calypso, she is the daughter of a titan, and is hunted for a mistake she did what it feels like years ago, but it's probably centuries. time is difficult to understand when you're in ogigya, her home and prision. the gods have cursed her for helping her father in the first titans war, and is fated to fall in love with the heroes who are shipwrecked on her island. she cleans them, she takes care of them, she loves them, and they always, always leave the island for someone else, leaving her behind with nothing but resentment.
so, you have two people, who have spent their whole lives being abandoned, filled with guilt and resentment, thiking that all their relationships will end in agony...
and there was only one island.
they both see the worst in the other at first, so it feels even more satisfying when they fall in love. i love that is so simple at first, she sents him food, he fixes her fountain. but they don't care about each other. calypso is done with the gods sending her boys, and this one seems like a joke. and leo actually has a prophecy in the run so he can't stand with this type of bullshit.
but then, they do care, and it's so sweet, because they finally feel seen. calypso doesn't think he's stupid. he's cool. she likes when he teaches her about machines. and leo does have a place to get back to, but the boys that came to ogigya had never paid as much attention to her as leo does. calypso cares. leo cares. they both care.
and when he's about to go back he cannot take all of this months out of his mind. and then she kisses him and pushes him to the boat, so he's definitly not going to forget her now. and that scene? with him promising to himself that he's going to find her again? because he finally found a place he wants to go back to???? I'M IN TEARS
this is so messy but, caleo is good, fuck you.
Ship that you didn’t expect to ship but now do
Honestly??? adrigami. i think this would also count as the misunderstood one, bc people kinda hate in this ship for no reason (SPECIALLY on tiktok, and not just adrigami, but the whole of kagami's character is often given a lot of shit).
when we first got the side love interests, i honestly didn't get much their place in the story and felt more like an excuse to cause love drama™ that in that moment i wasn't really interested on. but after rewatching season 2 and 3, my feelings towards them changed a lot.
for me, kagami and adrien are really similar, they both share the same type of family situation and can both relate as what it comes to living in high expectations and not being really good in social situations. i think that's really cute! they both support and validate each others in their struggles bc they both understand what is it like.
also i think its really well conceptualized. kagami comes into adrien's life just at the same time ladybug rejects him. she's also the opposite of marinette when it comes to achieving a goal. marinette tends to overthink the situation and procrastinates over it, while kagami it's really straight foward. "hey, i like you, i think you're spending too much time in a girl and you're not gettin anything in return, maybe you should change targets, let's date", and if you put in the ecuation how discouraged adrien feels... yeah, why not? (i would also talk for hours in adrien/luka parallels but that's a whole other story)
one of my favorite moments are in glaciator, where adrien is really nervous about the whole date, and they have this interchange:
adrien: *stands in front of her, trying to imitate luka about asking kagami to skate*
kagami: it's okay, i'm not going to tell anyone
adrien: what?
kagami: i'm not going to tell anyone that you don't know how to tie your shoes
adrien: *looks at his untied skates*
adrien: *blushes* ..,o-oh,,
i just love the confident!kagami and flustered!adrien, ok? the boy isn't used to that type of stuff
so yeah, i think they're a great ship, from the rocky and messy relationship in cannon to their potential in fannon, and i was an idiot for thinkin it was not

Floof went all out and made a 100+ thread of "Unpopular Opinions" about RWBY, most of which is a load of bunk or twisted facts, like usual. Though some, like, 56 would have -some- weight...if it wasn't from someone who constantly acts like he does. twitter(.)com/TheFloofArtist/status/1250503406738829312
1. I don't like Bumblebee. The execution is flat out nonexistent. There's no transition from Yang's discontent with Blake or showing how their conflict resolved. I wouldn't mind them being together if they showed us characters doing things, but it's all offscreen.
Yes, things that haven’t actually happened are off screen, congrats Floof.
2. I don't like the magic system. There's four magic systems. Aura, Semblance, Dust, and Magic. Their societies aren't impacted at all by people with superpowers. In the latest seasons they've done damage control with Dust by finally making use of gravity dust, but that's it.
You forgot Magic dumbass. also Semblances and Aura are the same fucking thing. Semblance is literally just another application of Aura.
3. I hate Ruby's voice. Why does it continually get squeakier every Volume? She sounded fine in Volume 1, but now she's like a mouse on helium, even though the character is older.
Floof, my aspergers make it so it’s painful for me to hear a fucking vaccum cleaner and yet I handle Ruby just fine.
4. I hate the Faunus racism subplot. Pointless, stupid, and a massive waste of time for everyone involved. All it does is eat screentime for no reason other than to give Blake something to do. The second it was resolved, Blake had nothing left as a character.
Congrats Floof, you gave a less nuanced version of what Miles said a month ago.
5. I hate Weiss. People only say she's the best character in the show (which she is) but it's like comparing garbage to recycling. Weiss would be recycling, while Yang and Blake are a dumpster fire. Nothing about her makes any sense at all, from her goals to her motivations.
Just because you lie about Weiss does not make it reality. I’ve seen your shit about Weiss before you rely entirely on everyone just mindlessly agreeing with you to look smart.
6. I hate Yang. She's like the Pokemon Ditto, in the sense that she's whatever the script wants her to be in regards to personality and dialogue. Dumping several contradictory traits into one character is not realistic nor is it character depth People only like her because tits
Not only is Ditto NOT like that since Ditto doesn’t speak, you’ve never even said what these ‘contradictory’ traits are. And I bet it’s, once again, reliant on everyone just seeing “RWBY bad” to mask your stupidity.
7. Salem is stupid. Why did she bother getting henchmen when she's an immortal who could just waltz into the academies and yoink all the Relics unopposed? Why didn't she just do the things she's doing in V7 earlier? She could've done it during the whole war thing 80 years ago!
Because if she tried that at literally any other moment in time, they’d all unite against her, Ozpin’s quest objective is cleared and he can summon the Gods. It only works here because Ironwood has gone off the deep end and won’t unite with anyone. And if she loses she’s FUCKED.
8. The gods are stupid "We can't resurrect Ozpin, that'd disrupt the balance of life and death" "Oh, you oppose us? Guess we'll kill all of humanity over 0.0001% of you guys opposing us" "We need to resurrect you Ozpin so you can stop Salem, who can't be stopped because of us"
Man, if you think they’re dumb, you should have heard about that time Chronos ate a boulder thinking it was his kid.
Gods aren’t always smart, dumbass.
9. I really don't like the tit windows on all the female character designs, especially when they're in a cold climate and proceed to explain that it's so cold you'll freeze to death, so why not wear warmer clothes? It would be cooler to see them wear color-coded arctic clothing
And then you’d play the ‘WHY ARE YOU SPITTING ON MONTY’S VISION!?’ card.
Your reputation kind of MURDERS any point you make.
10. I hate Jaune. My hatred for Jaune extends to just about every aspect of his character, from his goals, to his motivations, to how he was introduced, to how much screentime he eats, to his voice actor being the writer, to his incompetence, and his arrogance.
Translation: “I’ve projected Miles onto Jaune even though Miles doesn’t like Jaune and now I’m gonna use him to justify my hate boner towards the weakest link.”
10 tries, 10 fails. Especially when you look at these and realize-
These aren’t unpopular. Fuck, my blogs are dedicated to archieving bullshit and I’ve seen these moronic complaints hundreds of times.
Floof isn’t giving unpopular opinions, he’s just giving negative ones and then self victimizing so he can shield himself from criticism
Here’s an idea Floof, how about you give an opinion that ISN’T pandering to your base? Or is all that is left of you just parroting popular negative RWBY opinions?
