5x09 With All My Heart
"People only see a queen when they expect to" or when she's wearing a queen's clothes and hair 😂
I'm kinda glad they jumped right into Merlin and Arthur spying on the conversation between Morgana and Gwen rather than do a whole drawn out thing where Merlin tells Arthur, Arthur threatens to exile Merlin for suggesting such a thing, etc. I'm choosing to believe thatI after Merlin proved to be right about so many other betrayals, Arthur decided to trust him enough to go check it out. Plus it's just nice to have him in on the plan for once.
Arthur: if I lose Gwen I lose everything
Merlin: I'm standing right here
Here's the new route you've got ten seconds to memorize it and you won't be using it until three days from now good luck!
The ongoing 'Merlin in a dress' gag is so silly, but I'm glad they followed through with it because so far the only one we've actually seen in a dress is Leon 😂
Merlin remains unable to get anyone to drink his poisoned beverage but Arthur comes through in the clutch!
Poor Angel having to be manhandled onto that hand truck by these two
Wondering who managed to get Arthur dressed and into his armor
I've often wondered if it's really Angel on the horse, really Angel that Bradley is carrying on his shoulder. I don't *think* it is, but it's still definitely a real woman that he's got in a fireman's carry. He's a fit dude but like, in full armor, walking on a rocky ridge path? Ouch.
It's a good thing he didn't stab himself with that sword on the way down.
Arthur realizing Mordred was Merlin's funny feeling. The irony. It's still a sweet sort of husbands moment, but. Irony.
You'd think Morgana would be angrier at Mordred for the whole stabbing her and leaving her for dead thing
The Dolma voice is really impressive Colin should do cartoons.
Why doesn't Merlin just use the druid telepathy to tell Mordred to stfu? I know he doesn't trust him but like damn
Why is this making me cry make it stop
I'm sorry but no. That water is literally algae green. Absolutely not.
She's calling him over for a hug lol more like 'fuck that you dragged me in here you're helping me out'
Silly 'forgetting Merlin' bit but if you read me screaming about the way 'Dragoon' bartered with Arthur in The Wicked Day, in an attempt to force Arthur into lifting the ban on magic rather than proving to him that he should because it's unjust - this exact exchange with the Dolma is what I thought that should've been. I like to think that as he's gotten older and wiser Merlin's figured that out for himself too.
Commentary by Angel and Alex
Angel says she was quite sad to go back after Gwen's puppet queen arc ended, and my traitorous brain just screamed "yeah cuz now you're back to being left on a shelf and ignored until they need you for Arthur again" 🙃
Bastards
They are having a good laugh about Gaius' little mezzanine level with the books, saying he fell off it in the first episode and then never went back up there again 😂
They are funny together. Saying the Dochraid could be a great anti smoking ad 😂
Angel pointing out the fly or possibly spider crawling on Alex's cloak and Alex seeing it for the first time and going "oh my God" in the highest pitch voice I've ever heard 😂
Angel said it became her least favorite episode to film because of the passed out dead weight being carried thing. But she says she felt bad for Bradley having to carry her so much so I guess it was her. Oh wow she says it was her on the horse in one point when they're not moving.
Alex is saying "no don't climb down there" to Arthur going down the ridge to get Merlin and Angel is like "he has to go rescue his love"
Apparently the location where they filmed all these scenes was really miserable.
Oh wow they made Colin go back and reshoot his lines as the Dolma because he initially played it pretty straight and Johnny and Julian wanted it to be played more comedic, so he actually had to go back and shoot it by himself and then it was spliced together. That's crazy.

Oh my god we might come from different cultures but my favorite thing is the stuffed zucchini, I just—akdjsjfbdjdksk that, that is the only way I will ever eat such a vegetable, ever, and not just any dish, it has to have SPECIAL spices cus damn I’m like that—WHATS YOUR FAVE DISH AHSHFHSHDHDHD (I feel so bad to your followers cus I keep spamming sorry djdbdhdh)
AAAA THATS MY FAVOURITE TOO!! (after shawarma that is)
There is also musaqaa (?) (idk how to spell it but u basically line some zucchini and eggplant in a baking tray and put some ground meat on the top with cheese and a variety of spices) (tbh I just add whatever I think will taste good) (my mom makes it with rice too and oh god i think I’m craving it rn…)
I like a lot of things so um after those I like dolma (had it like 5 times when I went to Iraq in 2019 at my dad’s friend’s house and got obsessed with it since, would 10/10 visit Iraq for Dolma again)
Grape leaves is the one thing I wish I can get it’s spices and sourness right but can’t and I hate it bc I love that shit so much. :(
Kunafa and baklava, I’d eat those everyday if I could (my dad used to make them everyday during quarantine) but alas I can’t 💔😩
My grandma used to make kofta so I liked hers but didn’t like my mom’s. (My mom makes them taste bland idk) (and i make them too spicy or too salty)

A couple weeks had gone by since Riley returned to New York from Paris and of course, Liam was on her mind more than he’s ever been over the last two years. She finally had a week of down time before her next work trip to Greece. She was soaking in the bathtub with a glass of wine one night when her phone rang with a number she didn’t recognize.
“Hello?”
“Hi...Riley?”
“Liam?” her heart started to race...“Hey! What are you doing?”
“Oh nothing, I had some down time after finishing up some paper work, I figured I’d take you up on your offer to call.”
“Well I’m glad you did.”
“Me too. What are you up to?”
“Oh, umm...well... I’m in the bathtub,” she said chuckling.
“Oh! I’m sorry!” He was now trying to shake the image that was plastered in his mind of her sitting in the bathtub, but it just sat there.
“No it’s fine, I’m just relaxing, I got some down time finally too.”
“So when’s your next trip?”
“I actually am heading to Greece in a week for a few days.”
“Ah Greece, it’s beautiful there. Which part? Have you ever been before?”
“Nope. This will be my first time. I’m going to Athens.”
They talked on the phone for hours, Riley had moved from the bathtub to the sofa, as Liam was telling her all about Athens and all the landmarks she should try and see if she had time. He’s always been a fan of landmarks and anything filled with history. Finally they realized how long they’d been on the phone.
“Wow, I didn’t realize how late it was,” Liam said laughing.
“Neither did I, it doesn’t feel like we’ve been on the phone that long,” she said with a chuckle.
“Well I guess that’s a good thing.”
“I guess so.”
“Well, I won’t keep you any longer. Enjoy your trip to Greece. You’ll have to let me know how it goes.”
“I will! I’ll give you a call when I get back. Is...this the best number for you?”
“Yes, it’s my private cell phone.”
“Ok, I’ll give you a call then....Goodnight Liam.”
“Goodnight Riley.”
A week after Riley’s phone conversation with Liam she found herself in Greece for a few days. The first day she headed down to some of the beaches and coves to snap some pictures. The second day she had taken Liam’s advice and went to the Parthenon, and that evening she headed to another one his suggestions, a restaurant overlooking the Acropolis, and it was, just like he said it would be, beautiful at night. She sat at the table, chin resting on her hand, circling her finger around the top of her wine glass, lost in thought, when her phone rang, she grinned when she glanced at the screen.
“Hello, Liam”
“Hello, Riley. How is your trip going?”
“Really good. I went to the Parthenon today.”
“Ah, I’m glad! Pretty amazing right?”
“It was.”
“And what are you doing now?”
“I’m at another suggestion of yours,” she said chuckling. “At the restaurant near the Acropolis.”
“That place is spectacular, especially at night.”
“It is. The view of the Acropolis is incredible. I feel a little out of place though, if I’m being honest.”
“Why is that?”
“Well, clearly you forgot to tell me this was where all the couples go to eat, and I’m sitting here enjoying wine by myself getting a few free shows,” she said laughing.
“It is a romantic dinner spot,” he said chuckling, “what did you have to eat?”
“Well, I haven’t ate yet, I’m still waiting for it to come out but I decided to try the Lobster Dolma.”
“Mmmm, that sounds delicious.”
“Well I’ll have to let you know how it is.”
“How about....I have some with you?”
“What, are you going to ask your palace chef to whip you up a Lobster Dolma?” She said chuckling.
Suddenly her plate was being set down in front of her, and another plate being set down across from her at the empty seat. She turned to tell the waiter he made a mistake, and there he stood.
“Liam?” she said grinning as she stood to give him a hug, “oh my god, what are you doing here?”
“Turns out I had some more down time, it’s not far from Cordonia,” he said smiling as he helped her back in her chair and then sat down across from her, “and I hear Greece is beautiful this time of year.”
“How did you know I was here?”
“I didn’t....I took a gamble that you took my suggestion, it just worked out really, really well in my favor,” he said with a laugh. “When I saw you sitting there, that’s when I called you.”
“Sneak,” she said with a grin. “So what was your plan if I wasn’t here?”
“Well lucky I didn’t have to come up with another plan,” he said smiling, unfolding his napkin. “So...Lobster Dolma?”
She just smiled looking at him, “Lobster Dolma.”
They sat and talked, Liam giving her his charming lessons on the landmarks in Athens. She’d be lying if she said she heard half of what his lessons were, because she kept getting lost in thought staring into those blue eyes of his, and her mind was wandering to fact of how fitting it was they were in Greece, and she knew underneath that shirt he was wearing, his body was the closest living thing to a Greek God that she’s ever seen. She felt her cheeks flush at the thought of it.
“You ok?” he asked noticing her face was flush.
“Oh...uh, yeah...must be the wine,” she chuckled.
After a while of conversation and laughing, Liam leaned back in his chair and smiled shaking his head.
“What is it?” She asked.
“I just....I’ve never found anyone so easy to talk to like you...I don’t have to be a King around you, I can be just Liam.”
“Well, didn’t I always tell you that I liked just Liam?”
“Yes, but even after all the time that has passed...everything that happened...to be able to see you two years later and still talk to you like this,” he said motioning his hands between the two of them.
“I know what you mean,” she said smiling.
They talked some more and decided to call it a night, Liam’s car drove Riley back to her hotel.
“Well, this was a nice surprise,” she said smiling, “thank you, Liam, for doing that.”
“I had a great time, like I said I heard Greece was nice this time of year,” he grinned.
“Uh-huh,” she chuckled, “Well I better get inside, thank you again. I had a good time too.”
“Riley...” he said as she turned to open the car door, she turned back, and he cupped her face with his hand, and leaned in and kissed her. This time Riley could feel that burning desire building up inside her chest, and she melted into his lips, as his tongue softly found hers. She ran her fingers through his hair to the back of his head pulling him closer. They slowly pulled apart, and reluctantly she opened the door and got out.
“Goodnight Liam.”
“Goodnight Riley.”
