your post about the human au with beel as a farmer has me giggling and kicking my feet!! and now i can't stop imagining the brothers on their own little farm (writing this even though i know nothing about farming)

lucifer and satan mainly handle the finances, making sure they have the best equipment and techniques to produce good crops. the goats and sheep seem to take a liking to lucifer, especially the baby ones, who love chewing on his clothes. satan stays away from them bc they keep thinking his blond hair is food, choosing instead to coo over the farm cats

mammon and levi are the unofficial handlers and bully victims of the birds. mammon gets pecked by the chickens as he goes to collect their eggs, and he says one day, he'll cook them all up as revenge!! (everyone knows he's lying). levi spends more time with the ducks, where they quack at him on the farm and when he's fishing at the local ponds. (one time, a group of baby ducks imprinted on him and followed him home. it took forever for him to get them back to their mama)

asmo does a lot of advertising for the farm, with both his social media and charming personality at the farmers' market. he designs the cutest packaging and sews any holes that end up in his brothers' clothes with lovely little patches. his favorite animals on the farm (a couple piglets and bunnies) are marked with pink bows, but you could tell by how he squeals whenever he sees them

you already went over beel, but i imagine him still having his super strength and can easily carry adult sheep with ease. he also has gained a lot of (kissable) freckles from being in the sun all the time

belphie is a straight up cow whisperer, which may be caused by his habit of cuddling with the cows on their pasture to skip out on chores. but he's great at milking and can instantly tell if something's wrong with the cows, to the point that other farmers go to him in need of help. he's a lazybones hero!

Honestly, I'm surprised that little post of mine got so much attention lol! I was definitely thinking about it more in terms of what I think the boys would do if they were humans, rather than how it would be if they all worked on the same farm. But I saw a couple tags suggesting a Stardew Valley crossover, which could be all of them on the same farm or all of them with separate farms. I haven't played Stardew in a long time, but I am so obsessed with farming sims it's ridiculous. My favorite is Story of Seasons Trio of Towns, I've played it so many times and I still replay it from time to time because I loved it so much lol.

ANYWAY that's all to say that my farming experience comes almost entirely from video games. I took a class about plants and agriculture in high school, but otherwise it's all vibes and cozy gaming!

But I think you've nailed it with these. I keep seeing Satan falling asleep in a pile of hay, just completely covered in barn cats. Cute lil Asmo all decked out like a farmer but only for the aesthetic 'cause he's running that farmer's market booth like nobody's business. Cow whisperer Belphie, please I love it so much.

Also freckled, sun-kissed Beel... human!Beel would have so many freckles if he spent any time outside at all. I love this because I'm extremely freckled myself and it'd be really cute if MC had freckles to match his.

Though I actually hadn't even thought about MC's role in a human au. Since they're already human. Would it be reversed? MC is the demon in this scenario? Or just MC is their same human self but they meet the others in a different way? I think both options could be interesting. I was initially going with the idea of there being no magic and no realms though.

I was trying to think of what the characters would do with their lives based on their interests and Beel just screamed farmer to me. Like yeah he probably still works out a bunch, but he really loves food. So I thought it would be interesting to consider that as his primary motivation for wanting to become a farmer. He just wants to feed everybody.

Anyway, I love this, I'm thoroughly enjoying imagining the boys on their farm. Though Mammon threatening to cook the chickens is hilarious. Like I can just hear him saying that to a bunch of indifferent hens, too. It reminds me of a story my mom used to tell me about my great-grandmother getting so annoyed at my uncle's pet rooster for getting his beak tangled in her yarn that she straight up made soup out of him. I dunno how true that story is, but it's one my mom & her siblings have told me numerous times lol.

Parallels are funny

I was never into anime when we were friends. I just wasn't a fan, until recently. I was watching a few different animes based on another friend's recommendations. Jujutsu Kaisen is the one I am referring to as I write this. I never thought about why Satoru Gojo's and Suguru Geto's relationship really affected me until I saw this piece of art.

Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto fit us so well.

The love, the intensity, the ending. One who would do anything for the other if they asked. One who kept the other in check while allowing them to feel truly free. One who was shining too bright to notice the darkness consuming the other. The one who had endless possibilities, and the one who wanted the impossible.

From freshman year to the middle of our junior year of college, we were inseparable.

Constant rides and study sessions. Doing homework, and practicing our pass-off music together. Those first few classes in our major were hard, but don't worry, I was there to always lend a hand when you needed it. Classes just kept getting harder. We both started to get busy and overwhelmed. I know you started to feel depressed when I was advancing in classes, and you were struggling with the same ones. I was there to support you as much as I could, but I had to keep going. I just didn't realize that I was leaving you behind. I thought you just needed more time, but you were focused on other things.

We were a duo- connected at the hip. Always together, never too far apart.

The friendship was innocent. Sharing laughs and having late night conversations. Small, drunk kisses that didn't mean anything, right? Cuddling and sharing blankets. Matching outfits and saying I love you. We talked about getting matching tattoos. I swore you were my soulmate. We shared so many late night drives. Remember when we went to the beach at midnight and didn't get back home until 4am? Yeah, I replay the video sometimes just to hear your voice.

Everyone thought we were dating.

That was so funny, right? Of course as best friends we shared locations, had specific nights just for us to get dinner, had sleepovers every weekend, and joked about why we haven't slept together, yet. Of course, as best friends we would push the limits of what other friends do. Of course, I noticed you were struggling, I tried my best to help you. It wasn't always what you needed, but I tried. -Did you notice my struggle? No? That's okay. I hid it pretty well.- Of course, I got upset when you started to use guys to make other guys jealous. I didn't want to see you play with people's emotions like that, but I also didn't know how to stop you. You couldn't see how it affected you. You didn't see the changes it made.

Some words were said- words I wish I could take back, but it's too late for that.

We didn't speak for quite some time after that. I left my final 'I love you' on your doorstep- a scrapbook of us. The times we did speak were brief and out of pure necessity. Until, one day you volunteered a comment on my performance. I was frozen. You didn't need to compliment me- I didn't need it, rather. This was a critique, but you offered me love, instead.

That was your final 'I love you.'

I know that many other people have experienced a friendship like SatoSugu, but I think we truly encapsulated it, unfortunately. From the intense friendship with wild adventures, to blurring the lines between friend and lover, to losing each other, and to, finally, saying our final 'I love yous' to each other in our own ways.

Just like Satoru Gojo's happiness around Suguru Geto, my happiness was so loud when I was with you that I could not hear your silence. I’m sorry Satoru- Suguru didn’t stay in this universe either. Maybe the next one. In this universe, I spent 3 years loving you, and, now, I will spend the rest of forever missing you. There is no curse more twisted than love.

You're not dead, but I will never see you again. Even if I did, you wouldn’t be the same. You are my best friend, and I was yours.

Oh hi. I heard it's gifs tips'n'tricks time.

View this as a little addition to this post I made a while back.

This time I thought I'd take you through my gif making process. It'll be very specific to Photoshop CS6 but maybe some of you will find parts of it helpful regardless.

And since our biggest nemesis appears to be ~The Tumblr 10MB File Size Limit~ I decided to go for the absolute worst premise for a gif: Lots of stupid wobbly particles and gw2 bloom and transparency effects. Because huge gifs love these.

Aah, a horrifying amount of those in this single scene. Perfect!

Let's start with a little timelapse video, and I'll get into the details with screenshots below then.

So this actually went smoother than expected? Not super much fiddling needed in the end, but here's how it went in detail:

Load the raw footage into photoshop.

You can do this in two different ways: What I do is simply drag & drop the video file into the program and it'll open with a video timeline and some rudimentary video editing options.

What you can also do is File -> Import -> Videoframes to Layers and select your source video, which will give you a timeline of separate still image frames instead.

It comes down to preference, I used both methods in the past but nowadays I find the video timeline more intuitive.

Cut the footage to roughly the right length.

From experience I know that most of my gifs are around 3-4 seconds long. This can of course vary depending on different factors. Don't get too attached to the exact seconds you selected, you might have to shave off a bit depending on how evil the file size decides to act.

Optional: Change footage speed

Depending on the gif and its purpose, I slow the footage down. I usually do this for the visual effect (especially nice for showing off animation details) but it also has the practical side effect that it can help with file size. Say you want a gif that loops after 4 seconds. At 100% speed your gif will move at your original framerate (in my case 60 fps); if you slow it down but keep the same length in seconds it'll logically use less frames. That's less data to blow up the size! Yey.

Crop the image.

Now this is probably one of the most crucial parts when it comes to your final file size, and your gif looking nice on tumblr. Since the tumblr dashboard displays images at a width of 540px, you want this to be your absolute minimum image width to ensure a crisp image. If I can, I'll make the gifs larger (I like starting at a minimum of 600px and then reduce the image dimensions if needed).

With that in mind.... choose your image crop wisely.

A "widescreen" image like this will be the most merciful in terms of file size, but might not always be what you want in terms of composition.

Given tumblr's very vertical nature, this kind of approach will look great in posts (if it fits your image composition of course), but at 540px minimum width tends to be a file size monster.

For the gif I'm attempting to make here I opted for a more square approach. The subjects of the scene fill out the image's space nicely, and it's still a nice size for tumblr posts overall. Let's see what the file size will say about this.

Replay your footage after cropping to make sure you didn't accidentally cut off any motion you didn't mean to cut.

Next up: optional colour corrections

I tend to crank up the saturation for gifs way, way more than I ever would for regular screenshots since I find that often the limited web palette can make them look fairly dull. But like everything else so far, this greatly varies depending on the scene you're showing.

Note that colour correction can increase or decrease file size depending on what exactly you're doing. The more different colours you have, the larger your file size will be.

Reduce image dimensions

Since my original video footage was fairly zoomed out, the cropped area only left me 575px of width to begin with. In an earlier attempt (that I absolutely did not fail to capture and therefore had to record the whole thing a second time) I tried to leave it at these dimensions, but the 10MB size limit did not like that so now I knew better and immediately reduced the width to 560px.

Note: After you've changed the video's dimensions it won't let you edit the speed anymore (for some reason), so make sure you've got that settled.

After all the adjustments are done it's time for the moment of truth...

File > Save for Web...

Aww almost.

But honestly? That's not bad at all. I've had completely different disasters to deal with in the past (starting somewhere in the mid 20MB, good luck trying to make use of every size-reducing trick you've got up your sleeve).

Before I do any adjustments to shave off the last few KB though, I preview the gif to make sure it loops correctly. I want the Chak to sway seemlessly. Turns out it didn't, so I back out of the window to remove a few frames from the footage. And when I open the "Save for Web" window again....

Well that's anticlimatic. Apparently those few frames were enough to get the file size where I need it. (Note: Sometimes Tumblr likes to be a little b* and pretends your file is too big when you're this close to the 10MB limit. It be like that.)

While my gif journey theoretically ends here, I want to at least show you a few more things that could have helped if I had needed to get the file even smaller.

So this dithering thing I keep making a big deal of...

It can make or break a gif. In my experience this is so, so crucial to the final file size and quality of the gif.

In my own very amateurish words, dithering is a way to emulate colours that aren't actually part of the images colour palette. This is especially needed for in-game transparency effects like fog, glowy stuff, or smooth gradients. And that is part of why I chose this hell scene of all the ley line glow and the typical gw2 bloom that's particularly bad in this area.

PS CS6 offers you three different kinds of dithering techniques: Diffusion, pattern and noise.

My go-to is diffusion dithering, which has adjustable quality levels.

In my opinion it's generally the type of dithering that's often the least noticeable and creates the smoothest looking images. Unfortunately, it's also the one that creates by far the largest file sizes. Another downside is that it doesn't work super well with heavy DoF/fog etc. effects and is prone to really ugly banding, especially visible the more you decrease the quality. It looks awful for this particular scene. (Look at the glow around my asura's headpiece if you don't know what I'm talking about. Or... just the entire background.)

Both noise and pattern dithering will get you smaller file sizes, luckily.

I've never used noise so far (it tends to look messy in my opinion), but pattern gets the job done! Especially for gradient heavy gifs it's a lifesaver. It's definitely more noticeable than the diffusion dithering on static parts of the gif, but it absolutely makes up for it by not having any ugly banding effects. This is also what gave me the neat little 9.99MB file size in comparison to the diffusion dithering's 15.31MB.

Last but not least, if fiddling with the dithering or image dimensions doesn't help you get below that magic 10MB mark...

Limit the colour palette

You can either manually colour edit your image to use less colours for a more artistic approach, or you can let Photoshop limit the palette to its best abilities.

Additionally you can double click each individual colour to replace it how you see fit. (I've done that in the past when Petthri's yellow eye colour got erased and I had to bring it back manually.)

In this gif's example, reducing the palette from 256 to 128 colours has brought the file size down from 9.9 MB to about 8 MB. It can have a big effect, but doesn't always in my experience.

SHOW US THE GODDAMN GIF ALREADY!!!

Not the best quality gif we've ever seen on tumblr, but given the extremely unfavourable source material I think it turned out alright. I have to admit I'm actually surprised it worked at all.

Oh well! This got long (once again). I hope this was at least a little bit helpful to someone out there. Happy gif making!

A/n: I am trying to write for some anime I watch and not my usual genshin. I have not watch classroom of the elite in a while. Spoilers for season 2. Odd writing style idk why.

It made no sense, how it was even possible? He was a monster! You paced around your bedroom struggling to think as your mind replayed the horrible scene you had just witnessed. Why did it have to be you? It wasn't supposed to happen! Of all the boys you could have fallen for, it had to be him.

On any normal day, you were somewhat of an anime addict, the posters in your room, the videos, the otome games, you were into a lot of anime tropes but never in your life did you expect to meet an actual Kuudere! Ayanokoji was cool and nonchalant, before you knew it, you had developed a crush on him. Sure, something about Ayanokoji just didn't sit right in your spirit and you couldn't explain why you fell for him while suspecting him at the same time!

You had managed to be in his and Horikita's inner circle, he didn't seem like he cared much about anything that was going on, and he had a dark undertone too. Not to mention, the school you attended with them had their own issues. Who gives a task on a cruise ship? You barely understood the rules of the VIP game you were partaking in and it would decide whether or not you had enough points to survive on campus. Being in this school had you in Shikamaru's mood most of the time!

You were lucky enough to be put in the same group as Ayanokoji, but the whole discussion and proposal went in one ear and out the other. Class A and Class B were running the proposals while the rest of the classes watched in silence. No matter what 'teams' we were supposedly on, each person was more loyal to their class. You could not trust anything they said, furthermore, you were hardly a complicated person. 'Find the VIP' was our task, not going through some sherlock holmes mind mapping.

You left soon after class A, not interested in the rest of the conversation, these students could hardly work together when their life depended on it. The first meeting was a waste of your time, you were better off taking a wild guess. Not to mention, Ichinose was pretty vocal which made her a viable suspect. No one suspects the person who is loudest and most open. Then again Class A were also suspects, separating from group questioning was a great cover to protect the VIP and Kei could also be a suspect as she was always on her phone. All things put into consideration, you could narrow them down if you really wanted to.

Day by day, the whole thing was a mess and yet this Ayanokoji dude remained calm for the whole thing! It was traumatising, to say the least. You were in a deadlock for quite some time, you had no idea how you were going to find the VIP. You thought it was going to be a normal day, have a meeting and binge anime. Yet that's when you saw it. You were walking down the hallway when you caught wind of Ayanokoji. You were about to call out to him but he walked toward a strange area. He was heading for the boiler room of the ship. "Where is he going?", you asked yourself as you struggled to keep yourself hidden. You couldn't believe what you saw next! Kei getting bullied and Ayanokoji standing there and then telling her to spread her legs, exchanging numbers?! What the hell was going on? You could make out the conversation but each moment you stayed there, you found it harder to breathe. Just who exactly or what exactly was he? You left the boiler room and ran. You could barely think straight. This was not what you expected! He was not what you thought!  "Y/n, why are you running?", Horikita asked as you sped by her and went straight to your room. Ayanokoji was a monster! Monsters couldn't have friends, monsters couldn't be considerate, monsters couldn't love!

You sat on the floor your hands on either side of your face trying to calm down. Your phone buzzed distracting you from your panic momentarily. A message from the monster himself appeared momentarily on your phone screen reading "Let's talk".

Kay so I very much have a rant about Halsin's romance, spoiler tagged and also marked with a read more that I HOPE works as I'm on mobile. Should only be spoilers for Halsin's romance, tried to make sure I didn't include anything else.

I haven't finished the game, but I did read something about Halsin's romance, and I have to say, I'm really disappointed.

I pushed off every character that flirted with me because I knew Halsin was romanceable. Talked to him at every opportunity, did his quests first, got his approval up because my ranger girl falls for him, being a Beast Master that grew up in a dark forest with nothing but animals to speak to for decades.

And I read that at the end of the game, you just... Don't get an ending with him really? He tells you he's going to go off and you should not follow?

And I get it. He's poly, he says he doesn't beholden himself, doesn't expect you to tie yourself down to him, either.

But mother fucker he calls you his heart. This normally means a guy is in LOVE with you, not just some.. casual fling or fuck buddy. And it fucking sucks because everyone else gets this thought out romance and cute scenes and dates n shit. And I get one sex scene and that's it. And I'm in Act 3, I can't pick anyone else at this point.

I wanted more. I want him slowly falling in love with my ranger, slowly finding out he wants to be by her side.

Poly doesn't mean you can't love someone, that's not fair. I know he's very beastial in nature but dammit even some animals mate for life, and I think it would be really cool if he for once went AGAINST that nature of roaming to just... pick a person he wants to keep in his life and love regardless. A reminder that he ISN'T an animal but an elf.

I'm so upset and now I either have to beg Larion for an alter and replay my game IF they decide to have mercy on me, or just submit to the fact that I am horrible at picking fulfilling romances in video games and write my own shit.

Scenario - Blackmail ✨

You were just sitting on the couch, relaxing while scrolling away on your phone. You heard a faint voice from upstairs.. It sounded almost angelic, were you finally dying-? You put your phone down and tried to listen to what exactly was making that noise. Someone was singing.. But the only people in your house were you and your boyfriend, Killer. You decided to check out if it actually was him singing, so you walked up the stairs, making sure you were quiet enough so he wouldn’t hear you. You knew that he was extremely shy about singing in front of people, so he never sang around anybody. You loved his voice! It was so smooth and gentle, you would fall asleep anytime you were to listen to him sing :) You reached the door to the bathroom, and heard him singing from outside the door. Putting your ear to the door, you could hear him singing the opening to an anime you were forcing him to watch earlier. (You can make up whatever anime op you want) You giggled, and pulled out your phone to record him singing. He had such a lovely voice, so you didn’t know why he never sang. This would be nice to save for later, it always cheered you up to hear him singing :)

You heard the water faucet turn off, and you quickly ran back into your room, sitting on your bed and replaying the video. You smiled lovingly at it, his voice was so addicting, once you heard it, you always wanted to hear it again. You were so invested in the video that you didn’t even hear your boyfriend’s approaching footsteps to your shared room. Scenario - Self Care

Law got home from a strenuous 12 hour day of college medical training as well as some refresher classes. When you saw him, I think he looked even more tired than he usually did. “Hey Law- are you ok? You should probably take a rest..” You mentioned to him softly, giving him a hug when he walked through the door of your shared apartment. “I’m fine, I need to study for a midterm in a couple days.” He replied softly, starting to walk upstairs, into his room quietly. You looked worried for him, Law definitely knew how to worsen his already god awful sleep schedule. Even though Law was very informed in the medical side of things, he still didn’t seem to know about “self-care”. You sighed, grabbing a cup of warm tea, specifically Law’s favorite kind of tea, Chamomile. You also grabbed one of his favorite comic books, and started to walk up the stairs. When you saw him slaving away at his desk, you sighed with a worried smile. Typical Law..

“Hey Law, drink some tea to help you stay up.” You said softly, setting it down right next to him. He looked up from his work with a soft smile, kissing your cheek as a thank you. His days were always brightened when he saw you, and little gestures like these made his heart swell with warmth. “Thank you y/n.” He replied quietly, sipping some of the warm tea. You also showed him one of his favorite comic books with an excited smile, “Do you mind maybe taking a break and telling me about this one again? I really liked this one!” You said with your usual happy grin. How could he say no-? First off, it was you, and you looked so happy asking for him to tell you about it. Secondly, that was literally his favorite comic book, of course he’ll tell you all the details about it! He got up from his working chair and sat on the bed with you, opening up to page one and starting to explain all of the depth and details on specific characters. He even talked about how each ability of the antagonists and protagonists suited them, or how they could improve if they did this or that. He looked excited, ranting about these kinds of things to such a good listener like you. You couldn’t help but smile, you found his nerd side so adorable and endearing. “So this character has the ability to turn himself into rubber. But, the problem is that he can’t swim because of his abilities. I think maybe the reason is..” He ranted on and on, racking his brain for new ideas. You smiled at him, this was the first time you’ve seen him relax in a long time, and you were so happy that you could help him. You honestly loved hearing him explain these things! It gave you an entirely new perspective, and a lot more interest in comics like the ones he reads. “And yeah, that’s pretty much the whole story.” He finished with a soft smile. “Whoa- that’s super cool! How’d you get all that information out though??” You asked, continuing to try to distract Law from all of his worries and anxiety. “Well, I usually just form different theories of my own, but occasionally the internet isn’t the dumbass it usually is.” He replied softly. “Hey why don’t we read one together tonight? I can read it to you!” You suggested with an excited smile.

There was something about your smile that made Law so weak for you. Your face was just.. Perfection. Your smile so warm and kind, it could warm him up from the inside out. Your actions and gestures made him almost tear up on the inside from your kindness.. “Sure y/n.” He replied with a soft smile, grabbing a comic book from his desk, handing it to you carefully. As you read the words on his page, Law’s eyelids felt heavier and heavier. He didn’t realize that all of the work he was doing really tired him out. Self-awareness of his own personal health wasn’t really a major thought on his mind. He slowly started to lean on your shoulder, drifting off to his much needed sleep. When you felt the weight on your shoulder, fluffy hair tickling the side of your neck, you couldn’t help but smile softly, kissing your boyfriend’s forehead with such love and care. “Goodnight Law, I love you.” You whispered, wrapping the blanket around you two gently. You also fell asleep, letting Law lean on you as you both drifted off to your dream land. <3

You’ve always been a weak person when it came to your boyfriend, Minhos voice.

You’re bored, sitting in your boyfriends dorm waiting for him and his members to come back from practice, which should be almost over by now. What can you do to pass the time, you may ask?

Well, watch your boyfriends face cams of course.

So you opened YouTube on the tv, opening your account and going to the search bar and typing in ‘Stray Kids Minho face cam’ and you got more than enough videos to keep you im entertained until he returns.

You click the first one you see, which is his ‘Thunderous’ face cam, one of your favorite songs of theirs. Watching Minho perform was always entertaining; seeing how me glided across the stage and does the moves like he was born doing so always has you entrapped.

The video ended quicker than you thought it would and you let the next one load up. “Tiger Inside? Have I not seen this one? Odd, it’s really popular.” Your mumble, sitting against the couch cushions, munching on your favorite chips.

It started, and the minute it did you were sitting up.

He looked so good. The music started and your pretty sure you stopped blinking once it did, not wanting to miss a single move from your partner.

Then, he came to the center, they familiar confident sass in his walk as he sang and danced. He looked so… animated, and you couldn’t look away. From they way his lips moved to his his body went along with the music perfectly, it was impossible for you to look away.

As the part ended you got around for the remote, pointing it to the tv and restarting that part once again. It went again, and you replayed it again, and again, and again. At this point you’ve lost count of how pant times you’ve watched this part and decided you needed to move on to finish the face cam, but after his part went again and you let it continue on, your fingers twitched with the need to see it again.

Your brain was telling you to play it again and you listened.

“What is it about this? Why can’t I… look away?” Just then the door moved open just as you replayed his part again. The laughter of fur boys quickly filled the somewhat silent space, and you felt a smile creep onto your lips as you heard them put their things down.

“Hey Y/n! What’cha watching?” Jisung asked, standing behind the couch and bending over it so he was next to you, eyes on the tv. Right then Minho was in the center again, doing the part that has you trapped in a never ending loop.

“Minho’s face cam. I was bored and found this one and now I can’t stop watching it.” You answered bluntly, not really caring how you sounded while replaying the tv for the nth time that hour.

Jisung held back his chuckle, walking away from the couch to go grab your boyfriend. Minho was listening to something Jeongin was saying when the quokka tapped his shoulder, and Minho reluctantly took his gaze off of the youngest to him.

“What? Cant you see Jeonginnie is telling me a very important sorry right now?”

“I was making fun of how Changbin nearly hit his head on the wall—“

“See, important.” Jisung sighed.

“Your girlfriend is watching your Tiger Inside face cam and I think she’s obsessed with it. She’s been replaying it since we got back.” That got his attention and Jisung knew that. One of his favorite things to do was use your name to get Minho to listen to him, which usually resulted in getting scolded or a sulking Minho because you weren’t coming to see him like Sung had said.

Minho sighed and switched spots with the younger, chubby cheeked male, telling him to listen to Jeongins story (that wasn’t even a story, he wants to add) so he can go see you. Jisung nodded, more than happy to listen to their makanae speak.

Making his way to the living room, he say you watching his most replayed part from that performance he he smirked, loving the affect he had on you. Seeming to sense his presence, you turn around, finally looking away from the tv to give him a stare.

“What?” He teased, sitting on the couch next to you and wrapping his arm around your shoulder to pull you closer to him. You happily cuddled into his side, but continued to give him the stare.

“Did you put some kind of drug into your vocal cords before this performance,” you gesture to the tv. “Or what?” Holding back laughter was something Minho was usually good at, but seeing the seriousness of your face face him break into giggles.

The sudden noise caught you off guard and you scowled, not wanting him to laugh but to give you answers. “Y-Yah! This isn’t a laughing matter Min! I’m serious, do you drug your vocal cords so people can’t stop watching your part over and over again?” God you’re so cute.

Minho let out one lays chuckle before pulling you into a kiss, his hand holding firmly on the back of your neck so you can’t pull away to grill him further. You put up no fight, practically melting into his touch.

Once again, Minho loved the affect he had on you.

Breaking away, Minho kissed your cheek, giving you a smug smile that told you he was going to tease you.

“You like my voice that much baby?”

“You drugged it!”

“Did not! I’m just an amazing singer.” You froze, racking your brain for a good comeback.

“Well yes of course you’re an amazing singer, but you still did something to your voice for that performance!” Grip still firm on your neck Minho pulled your closer, tilting your head to look at him.

“You said the same thing when you heard Taste.” You groaned. He really is impossible. You half-heartedly punch his chest, closing your eyes momentarily to focused of the feeling of his hand on the back of your neck before your re-opened them.

“Well yeah you’re not wrong—“

“You actually say that when you hear me sing all the time.” Uh oh, busted. You chuckled, shaking your head before nudging his chin with your nose. “I just love your voice and don’t understand how it’s so amazing— how you’re so amazing.” You whisper. It’s only for him to hear and he knows that.

Minho lives off of your praise and you know that, wanting to make sure he knows he’s missing and his loved he is the best you can. Said male seals your lips together again, slow and passionate. You only breaks apart at the sound of fake, over dramatic gagging.

The both of you whip your heads around to see Hyunjin hunched over, giving you both a disgusted look that has you snickering.

“Go somewhere else with all that lovey-dovey kissy stuff, some of us are trying to go on with our lives.” He whines, crossing his arms other his chest.

Minho smirks at the blonde. “I am too. She’s my life.” The younger once again gagged, moving away as though the room stinks. You laugh, pinching his bicep to regain his attention.

“Why’d you have to gross poor Jin out?” He pouts.

“He asked for it. ‘M not gonna stop loving on you because they’re here. It makes me wanna love you more so they know you’re my baby.” You let his chest with an adoring smile.

“I think they know that already Minho.” Not to Minho they don’t. He wants to make sure these idiots know that you’re his and that they can’t have you (even though, none of them would dare steal you away from him, they think you’re to cute together).

Minho pulls your closer so his lips are right next to your ear, a smirk replacing the sweet smile he had earlier. “Baby, if you wanna hear my voice you can always just say that. You know that if you ask nicely, I’ll give you anything you want.” His voice is almost breathless in your ear, and your whole body stiffens.

He’s got you right where he wants you.

“Now c’mon, wanna hear you sing for me next.” He grabbed your hand, dragging you off of the couch n’s away from the tv. The look on his face told you that tonight, you would be calling in sick for work tomorrow.

Because you are going nowhere, anytime soon.

GAMES I PLAYED IN 2023 - FIRST HALF-ISH

i've been seeing a lot of this in gif form but i do not have the energy or video material and also i'm late but i rly wanted to make a post where i say a lil bit abt all the games i played and how i liked them!

pokemon platinum, soulsilver, white, white 2, y, sun, alpha sapphire & shield: i started a big mainline pokemon marathon in 2022 but most of it fell on 2023. it was a lovely time tbh and i miss it! platinum was a bit too grindy (but we love cynthia) and soulsilver traumatised me for glitch reasons. my favorites out of this lineup were definitely gen 5 in terms of storyline and pokemon selection, the later ones were a bit too handholdy and slow for my taste, and alpha sapphire could not compete w the og emerald which is my favorite pokemon game of all time. i did rly love shield though but that's bc i'm a) a football girl and b) i played it on my wife's sofa askfjhkasjf. anyway music is bangers all around and i do love The Concept of pokemon so i didn't hate any of them.

lonely people potion shop: this was an absolute surprise indie gem that i found on my wife's itch.io in 2022 but i replayed it for her in 2023 so it counts. this game is a rly short very fruity visual novel where you make potions for people and chat with them. it's one of the most heartwarming and gentle games i've played, every character is so lovely and caring towards each other and also to you the player! 100% would recommend i cried a bit several times.

validate: i really wanted to love this game because a dating sim/visual novel/narrative fiction type game w a super diverse cast (in terms of backgrounds, body types, gender, sexuality, and mental health struggles) and such a lovely art style? sounds perfect! and it would be if the characters weren't so...unlikeable sjfhaksjfa. it eventually got so difficult for me to root for them and also kind of frustrating bc the routes overlap in a way that even if you get good outcomes in one route, you can still mess up the relationship in a different route (because you have routes for each of the characters) so i ended up not finishing it.

neo cab: another one i never finished but was rly intrigued by! another visual novel but choices matter type deal where you play as a taxi driver in a dystopian world where you're being replaced by self driving taxis. the mechanics and cast are really cool and if the storyline didn't stress me out so much i would've finished it by now but i definitely will one day!

coffee talk 1/2: barista simulator meets visual novel in an urban fantasy setting where you also kinda save the world one drink at a time! i loved the first one so so much and finally played it last year in preparation for the second one coming out that i'd been anxiously awaiting, it's so vibey and the characters and their storylines are so interesting and i loved seeing their heartfelt interactions! also the first game was giving such strong queer vibes but they kinda dropped the ball w that in the second game trying to backtrack on that. ruined the experience for me a little bit but still a very solid game w cool additions to the already great cast of the first game!

skyrim: not much to say about that one. my favorite classic walking simulator that i keep coming back to, still very much playable and so pretty even on the switch! unfortunately also incredibly broken so i can't finish the solstheim questlines kjsfhkajsfas fuck you todd howard

calico: wonky little game where you explore the world and also bake and own a café that you can fill with all sorts of animals from cats to snow foxes to capybaras because why the fuck not! absolutely delightful, 10/10

later alligator: lovely little puzzle game w great old timey detective vibes and a banger soundtrack where everyone is alligators. these characters are such great fun, i loved the writing and i loved learning about all of them and doing tasks for them! the minigames got a bit frustrating at times bc i was lacking the coordination skills or just general strategy and there are some completionist things i could never do because of that and the main character (the main guy you're doing things for, not the player character) can get on your nerves pretty quickly but otherwise a lovely game w a great twist in my opinion

strange horticulture: this one made it into my all time favorites too. you play as the owner of a supernatural plant shop in a place where A Lot of strange things are going on. it has a bunch of really cool mechanics like plant identification and a lot of map related puzzles to find new plants, secrets etc. the overarching story that gets revealed bit by bit from an unknown person's pov outside of the gameplay while related events are also happening in real time was so interesting, and there are a lot of cool choices you can make that lead to various more or less unsettling outcomes. the spooky vibe is SO good but at the same time it has a very calming homey feel AND YOU CAN PET THE CAT 10000/10

penko park: another absolute indie banger. probably something like a pokemon snap but the beasties look fucking stupid and kinda creepy and the lore is cursed as hell. throughout the game you explore the remains of a park that was built upon the abuse of all sorts of cute little creatures (and big creatures) and while you mostly try to take pictures of every weird looking fella in their different emotional states that you bring upon them in various ways, maybe there's something you can do to right the wrongs of the park founders! who knows! (also special shoutout because these are german devs and as a german, i am especially demanding when it comes to german games and this one knocked it out of the park) (haha the park get it)

Quick Review: Stray Gods

Stray Gods is among the rare, the few, the musical video game. This is a visual novel/musical that reinvents Greek myth and provides a modern story about reincarnation, trauma, pain, murder, mystery and romance. The games gameplay is very simply put, making choices, there isn't more to it then that but the choices feel impactful.

I played one run with my GF and my Metamore romancing Persephone. After that run I did listen on youtube to more of the outcomes and possibilities [in particular the rest of the Freddie romance] but have not replayed it or anything like that. I feel like I got everything I wanted from the game with just that alone but maybe one day I'll revisit. We had a play time of roughly 8 hours but a lot of time was us talking over choices together or on a pause menu the game is fairly shorter than that if your playing it solo. Especially if you just lock in on one person you wanna grab romantically. Even more so in further playthroughs where you aren't going to need to ask as many questions.

The games music is good but I don't think there is a lot of stand out banger songs. Like I am not really belting these songs out in my head or wanting to rewatch the song over and over like with many other musical moments in animated series or from proper musicals. I really love You and I (Reprise) and that is the one song that atm has returned to my head. I think a large part of why the songs aren't super sticking with me though is that the tone of the songs are mostly more somber and mellow where I prefer a more action packed or upbeat song from my musicals. I do think the songs can feel a little weird because their designed in pieces to fit together by player choices but when you listen to them on the soundtrack they do pretty much all clear.

The queerness in Stray Gods is better than average, a progress pride flag exists in Freddie and Grace's room but that flag is a generic pride flag not putting a particular label on Freddie or Grace's sexuality. As far as I can tell no character uses any labels one can assume Grace is bi in so much that she can romance 2 men and 2 women but perhaps they want you to self insert your sexuality into her. Still it would have been nice to talk more about sexuality in this game especially when talking about passing down Eidolons and stuff. Perhaps it's too messy of a topic but it was something in my head. We do some a touch of unavoidable queerness with Persephone having a past lover who is a woman who as far as I know is not at all optional to miss. That said Freddie's feelings for Grace are pretty unavoidable but I know straight people aren't very smart so I do think they could somehow miss it. The game also sadly lacks polyamory despite being about Greek gods and that not making any sense.

Overall, I think the game is really well voice acted and good experience. I recommend listening to a song or two online to see if the music clicks with you because you probably won't want to play the game if you don't enjoy that since it's the main event. It's a fun time with a good cast and fairly simple. The story can get fairly dark with suicidal ideation, PTSD, Abuse, etc all being themes but for me they were all handled well but perhaps that was how we handled choices. I really like the game overall and I will probably be on the hunt for Grace X Freddie and Grace X Persephone art for however long people keep drawing it.

SIGNALIS SPOILERS AND WHATNOT~~

finished my second playthrough of signalis, was going for the artifact ending. then loaded my save and got the memory ending. such a good game aaaa

the memory ending made me cry, it was really heartwrenching when ariane said sorry i dont remember, i just crumpled. watching elster be so exhausted was a lot.

not really sure if i understand the artifact ending. i feel like either its really vague (on top of all the other vagueness) or if im missing something. it kind of feels like a burial of arianes memory? like elster dies and we see ariane thikning about her and elster dancing in the wrecked ship? i’m not sure. maybe someone could give me their interpretation of it?

i also found out that theres a difficulty setting and really wished i had set it to survival before my second playthrough. woulda been nice!!! I do have one more ending so i might play the game again but might also just watch it on youtube and play the game again some other time(gotta let it ruminate so i can go back in with different eyes), I wanna get all the achievements anyways.

all in all i fucking love this game a lot. very rarely do i replay a game so soon after playing it for the first time. its really tragic i’ll never get to experience this game for the first time again, but, so it goes. its such a beautiful game i will be thinking about it for a longgggggggggggg time. ive been wanting to talk about it so badly for so long but none of my friends have played it yet kyaaa!!! >_<

its crazy to me that the game exists the way it does. the style, the mechanics, the story, the music, everything about it oozes so much passion and care and thought. very few games have made me want to stare at every part of it to figure out how they made it look the way it did (THE GAME IS SO STYLISTICALLY RICH LIKE HOIW DID THEY DO ALL THAT) and the game mechanics are so nice to my brain, everything is so tactile and clicky and inventory management and ammo management and horror stratgey and the flesh and rust and death and love and lesbians and robots and anime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

edit:(thinking about the first time i played compared to the second. i was considerably less scared since i had a clue of waht was going on but the fear that i felt playing the first time was special to me. i really like games with stories about ‘time loops’ because the replay-ability is baked in in a cool way. especially with how the game throws information at you, viewing things again having experienced perspective shifts from information is really cool. seeing scenes again re-contextualized makes my brain go ^-^(hots quest ding sound) but going in completely blind and being afraid of everything (i especially remember being scared of the dream beach, i had literally no clue what to expect and it was nice) it all had a different flavor than the second time which is cool because i feel like i experience that kind of emotion change *with* elster. (girlie needs a FUCKING cuddle nap)

the way the game balances reality and the surreal i think is super neat. i love surrealist dream stuff a lot and i think that a video game is a super good medium for that kind of experiential stuff that really inspires me to wanna make video games. especially because then theres also this super nerdy sci fi stuff going on about robots and space regimes and magical tech(my favorite) and planetary systems and military systems and all that good shit. i similarly wanna get nerdy about stuff like military logistics while also telling a story about gay robots and girls that keep missing each other just barely in the space time continuum. i love that the game tells you a lot but also is vague and also says fuck you (affectionate) stop looking for answers and just feel it. it explains just the right amount to not feel esoteric while keeping enough vague to leave a lot up to interpretation/figure it out by playing it again/thinking about it. it plays with themes and reality and reoccuring symbolism and all that good shit that makes stories addicting to think about.) ((also one of the endings requiring beating the game once among other things that keep between playthroughs, yummyyy. games that know they are games/stories/worlds that are aware of themselves., thats good shit right there))

can anyone recommend some affordable games with really good character customization, so much so I can make my blorbos, but also good gameplay too?

stuff I liked in the past for reference, and reasons I stopped playing as well:

Miitopia: ngl I wanna do another playthrough with an Everhood cast, but my main problem with this game is it loses replay value IMMEDIATELY after you beat it. The gameplay is pretty shallow aside from the customization aspect, and the story you already know so it won’t hit differently when you restart of course. Now onto the good: The customization in the switch version is god tier, the story with everyone being miis you cast in each role (excluding our best boy Dominic <3) is amazing, I love playing a fanfic basically!! The personality quirks and relationship aspects are also really fun!!

Cult of the Lamb: more focus on gameplay than customization, but in every damn save I GOTTA make my Everhood blorbos!! For now the little animal followers do well, but I wish modding becomes easier in the future for custom follower forms </3

Flight Rising: I REALLY REALLY want to play this again, but I can’t because the only legal way for me to play it is to use my shitty account I made when I was 16 which used up all username changes and has a TON of shitty cringeworthy forum posts attached to it because it was the pandemic and my social media was extremely restricted with parental controls……. I don’t feel comfortable enough with the moderators and their extremely strict attitudes and rules to just make a new account and not touch my old one.

Sims 3: I wanna play this again so baddddd… I stopped playing sims 2 tonight after a few minutes because tbh? Modern game customization (mainly sims 3 and miis) have absolutely spoiled me to death and I can’t stand having to download a mod for every. Single. Customization I want. It’s so painful.

Rain World: I wish I could play this, I have tons of skin mods including an Everhood one, but it’s too damn hard for me to play (yeah okay Leaf sucks at video games and just needs to git gud and stop whining). The hardest games I play admittedly are Monster Hunter and Everhood’s battle replay, and I absolutely cannot STAND video game time limits. They stress me the fuck out every time and I can’t deal with them at all (shoutout to Mix quitting the call with me fighting the splatoon 3 final boss because I was screaming my guts out and I ended up having to hand the controller to them for me to beat Grizz), and on top of it I have to use a map in order to beat the game, pre-planning my routes every time and not making a single mistake lest the rain get me. I hate it. I hate that I can’t be good at games for fucks sake ughhhhhhhhhhhHHH

Lobotomy Corporation: I like the customization and modding is rather easy but. Come on. It’s lobcorp no fan has beaten the game its even a fandom in joke LOL (though I’ve definitely gotten farther in it that Rain World. CURSE YOU, TIME LIMITS!!! The thing also keeping me from beating Wandersong….)

Hi I'm making another long post talking whatever bullshit that comes to my mind because I'm insane I guess, this time it's music because I love music. I wanna say before hand, I have 0 knowledge in music so a lot of what I'm gonna describe is just my feelings

You also don't have to read through all of this, you can just listen to the music I've linked and that's enough for me :+]

Anyways I'm gonna be talking about JP songs from the early 2000s or late 1990s (Y2K?) that have this poppy, girly type energy. I'm mostly gonna talk about Serani Poji but I'll talk about other's that I've found too.

Ok so I learned that Serani Poji was originally created for SEGA's (I don't know how they keep finding banger musicians) video game called ROOMMANIA #203, which is crazy because I thought they were kind of an indie group like CAPSULE (I don't even know if that's true) or something. Anyways, a lot, if not all, of Serani Poji's songs were put in their later albums (I believe they're all in Manamoon? But there could be other albums too)

Manamoon by Serani Poji

What a banger debut album. To be honest, I think the only songs I really dislike is Manamoon, but the other songs really make up for it. Like "Octopus Daughter" and "Which one of the twins ?" are so fucking GOOD. And I think "Spiral Da-Hi!" is a perfect representation of what I imagine the idealization of the future would be like? If that makes sense??? Basically like The Jetsons. Also I really like this album cover art, speaks a lot of it's era. It's other album cover is nice too I think, I know it's very simple but it takes a surprisingly a lot of thought to think about the composition/placement of text and what colors to pick and the sizes (curse you Graphic Design class)

I'll talk about One-Room Survival for a bit, I think it's their most popular album? Though, I think that's mainly because of "Pipo Pipo".

One-Room Survival by Serani Poji

I think I like this album more than Manamoon? Or at least I think a lot of the songs here are more memorable/addicting to me (but that also may be because I spent more time listening to this album, I only listened to Serani Poji's other albums recently). "One-Room Survival" and "Where is Smiley?" are probably one of my most favorite songs in this album, especially the latter because I love humming the chorus (where is my friend Smiley????? !!!!!). Lovelabor is also really good, I love Bossa Nova type of music. Also I think this is my favorite album art out of all of Serani Poji's Discography? Maybe it's on par with Manamoons because I like it too, but something like this album in it's simplicity is really nice, and a lot of the songs kind of fit it too to be honest. Merry Go Round Jailhouse's album cover is cute too! I think they're all nice in their own way.

Uhmmm I'll talk about Ochamekan briefly since I haven't spent that much time with it

Ok admittedly I haven't heard all of the songs, but I do know that one of my favorite songs #2 Earthling Body(?)/Earth Human Body(??)/地球人のカラダ is in this album. #5 Coffee Shop at Night/夜の喫茶店 is also a really good song by virtue of it being kinda Bossa Nova (or maybe I'm just guessing that genre wrong,,,). Also I think this cover art is very cute!!! Actual blorbo

Ok that ends the Serani Poji section, I'll talk about the other albums I found and maybe mention at least 1 CAPSULE album since I've already talked about them before.

FAKEVOX by Plus-Tech Squeeze Box

I love this album art JHNGFDJKNGDFB ANYWAYS this entire album is a lot more... Hyper? Energetic! Upbeat!! compared to the other albums I mentioned. It leans more to like, Cutie Cinema Replay/Nexus-2060 by CAPSULE. Anyways I think #2 Early Riser is such a fun song, I'd love to make an animatic or animation with it. #7 ☆ is also one of my favorites, it's very cute! The ending song "Clover" Is another favorite, I've listened to it probably the most or just as much as "Early Riser", it's very sweet and nice to listen to while doing chores.

SUPER MIRACLE CIRCUIT by Sonic Coaster Pop

THIS IS THE ALBUM I'VE BEEN MOST EXCITED TO TALK ABOUT. I think out of the album cover art in this post, this has to be my very top (even though you can count every pixel on here). I don't know if this counts because I only started recently liking it, but I really like this type of Y2K visuals and music? IT'S FUN IT'S CUTE IT'S EVERYTHING!! Anyways, I LOVE how all the songs transition to the next one so smoothly. My absolute favorite song here is #3 Super Speed POP☆STAR. Definitely the most listened song on this post, I'd love to make a character design based on this song!!

The songs are pretty long but that's ok, It really helps with the transitions! Also surprisingly, Plus-Tech Squeeze Box has made a remix for them! I think I prefer the original but I love the title "go go EGG mix", that's so fucking silly behavior, let's be whimsical!!

OK so a break, I'll be talking about 2 more albums which are personal favorites. The ones above are a lot more recent albums I've listened to (excluding One-Room Survival) but these last 2 are ones I've had a lot more time with.

Second last album I'll talk about is from CAPSULE, which is the only band here that still makes music to this day I believe? Which makes me really sad, but it makes a lot of the albums here valuable/important, as they're a really good product of their time.

Capsule – L.D.K. Lounge Designers Killer

A Flying City Plan(?)/空飛ぶ都市計画 is such a great starting song. I really wanted to use it for my Frye Splatfest art for Team Aliens, but I went with the Nexus-2060 song "Space Station No. 9" since I think it and the album itself fit more with the "aliens" theme. Anyways, I believe this album is the most latest one on this post? That's ok, I'll give a pass to CAPSULE any time of my life. A lot of the songs here are more chill, very loungy LOL

Also same as always, I love all of the songs in here, I mean it's CAPSULE. It'd be easier to say which songs are the weaker ones for me, which is #3 Lounge Designers Killer (how come the title tracks are the ones to kinda fall off...), and #4 Twinkle Twinkle Poppp! But not because it's a bad song, I just think it's kind of out of place in this album?? Whatever I still like it, anyways #5 TIC TAC and #1 A Flying City Plan are my most favorite songs in this album. Also the little ending song is very sweet :+] <3

LAST THING TO SAY ABOUT THIS ALBUM, #9 do do pi do reminds me. A lot of Tunak Tunak Tun. and it's driving me kind of crazy because I don't know if anyone else also hears it.

Last album is an album I've listened to the most and one I've heard since I was 12. Maybe my most favorite album ever??

NAGISA COSMETIC by NAGISA COSMETIC

I am so... Distraught that they only released one album, because I think they've captured cuteness so perfectly?? NAGISA COSMETIC is a duo consisting of a model and designer, Ichikawa Nagisa and the other half of CAPSULE, producer Nakata Yasutaka. I can't express how much this album means so much to me, like I made my first animation to one of the songs here (#6 retort). I LOVE THIS ALBUMMMMMMMMM, and how I found it was through... OSU 😭 whoever mapped Cosmetic Happy, I love you, you changed my life.

finally making the woe.begone character master post :3 (Not including PR1ZE)

PR1ZE ITERATIONS

PR1ZE (A.K.A Mikael Schiavo): (He/She) The Original. He joined WOE.begone after finding a video of someone cutting their arm off in a gore video with the phone number written in the corner. He thought it was an ARG, it was not.

His first challenge was to call his dad and tell him how his younger brother died. As soon as he stopped the call, he was shot in the head and revived by the game. And from then on, he was his own PR1ZE.

Very soon after his first challenge, he gets an email from someone claiming to be a player of Woe.Begone, Castiel (@imaginepostingonmain). He became friends with them, and found himself doing increasingly worse and worse “in between” challenges to get up the ranks.

He found Cicada (@teknikolor-walters) right after finishing his third challenge, and from then on H1VE was formed. After he was consolidated with TR0PHY he got the fucked up gender

TR0PHY: (He/She) PR1ZE iteration created after the first time PR1ZE met Eli (also @teknikolor-walters). He’s taken away from his Cicada and manipulated/time travel tortured by her till he forgets all about them. He doesn’t speak unless spoken to. He’s basically only around because he’s pretty and he’ll kill on command.

He’s “saved”(Taken in by) H1VE after the H1VEvsElijah war is over. He’s. Not ok.

Consolidated with PR1ZE.

MIKA: (He/It) FLINCHITE Experiment iteration. His inability to die makes him a very interesting subject to work with because no matter what they do, it will be reversed. Him dying doesn’t mean he can’t feel the pain, though. He does his best to smile through it to keep himself sane.

B0UNTY: (He/Him) Consolidation between MIKA and 4CCOL4DE. He escaped the compound and proceeded to fall into the worst loop possible, falling in love only to have his Cicada die over, and over, and over again. He lost 27 cicadas before Scarab found him.

He’s somewhere between a hippy and a cowboy, and basically only wears unbuttoned Hawaiian shirts. He’s much calmer and has easier to control emotions.

4CCOL4DE: (He/Him)

FLINCHITE iteration. He’s… an undeniably terrible person. He’s Ty Betterage’s right hand man, and he uses that to his advantage. He lost his Cicada and went to Ty Betterage because he’s the only person who could bring a Cicada back. It didn’t work. (also he’s the hottest)

EUCCOL4DE/Euthanasia 4CCOL4DE: (He/Him)

FLINCHITE Training iteration. He trains people who are trying to work for ty, and by training I mean torturing. He, much like TR0PHY, had his memories removed because of repeated time travel uses and an unhealthy dose of manipulation.

He dies after escaping the compound after he remembers how much he loved his Cicada. Confronted with the guilt of his actions against Scarab, he begs Scarab to kill him. Scarab obliges.

M3DAL: (He/Him)

Hidden PR1ZE iteration. He’s hiding out in the woods to try and avoid WOE.Begone’s detection. Lucky (or unlucky) for him, Rove (Cicada iteration) found him. They fell in love and live a stupid little life on the beach in complete solitude

H0N0R: (He/Him)

After Cicada started replaying Woe.Begone for PR1ZE, this iteration was created to keep playing the game. He is convinced that his Cicada abandoned him.

He was sent to OVER and is now… doing his best.

TRJD/The Repeating John Doe/John: (He/Him)

Every time PR1ZE dies his body is found. One of them came back. He hates PR1ZE, and he hates H1VE, and if he could, he’d kill them all.

DAMIEN KING

Vincent Stefanovski: (He/They)

Vincent Stefanovski played WOE.Begone. He did it for the fame and fortune, the possibility of blood on his hands. They didn’t do it for the power, he did it for the killing. He’d always dreamed of being a murderer, starting small with animals and moving up. Then he found WOE.BEGONE, and it was a dream come true.

He met Lukas in a park, hands bloodied, wrapped around a cops neck. They bonded quickly.

Lukas J. Flüger: (She/He/They)

Lukas Flüger played WOE.Begone. It was an opening to a new technology he wanted to learn about, she wanted to grasp and pull apart. He wanted to, just for once, not be the puppet and instead control the strings. They’d always been a control freak, running every school he went to, making sure everything was always right. WOE.Begone would give him control over time, the universe itself.

After completing the second challenge, someone he thought was the gamerunners gave him a reward. Dropped a calculator into his cold hands.

Damien King: (He/It)

Damien King is an accidental consolidation Between Lukas and Vincent. He’s… not great. One who fed off power like he needed it to live and one who stole life away for fun. Power hungry and bloodthirsty. What more do you need in a guy?

Me and @teknikolor-walters co-own consolidations between Cicada and Damien, named Hornet Walters-King! Bird was it on their mega post so I’ll leave that to them :3

Parasite Fischer: (He/It) Woe.begone player who, instead of being sent to OVER, was sent to the FLINCHITES. He’s a sitcom character of a man. He basically fucks everything up till he finds what he needs and then sends it to the Woe.Begoners. He’s good at sticking his nose into situations and then fucking everything up.

why, thank you for asking! i've been thinking it through for the last few days, i just wanted to make sure my answer was all written and ready to go first. all... checks notes... 4,000 words of it.

ICYMI, last week i sent asks to a bunch of my friends with a simple question: "what's your favorite game you played this year?" as i hoped, y'all gave a bunch of EXCELLENT answers, all of which i reblogged on my side blog @autumatically! (if you didn't get an ask like this and you want to join in, ping me – i sent too many asks to keep track of and i probably just forgot to send one your way!)

of course i wanted to answer this myself, but i wanted to write about more than just one game! and when i sat down to write, i just kept going, and going, and going...

so we're splitting this up! every day this week, i'll be counting down my top 5 games that i played in 2023. not all of these are games that i've streamed, and only one of them has shown up on anyone else's lists so far, so i'm really excited to reminisce and share my experiences this year 💖

maybe you'll even find a new game to try out? i'm certainly really excited to dig through y'alls lists and try some of the ones i missed out on this year!

to kick things off, let's start with:

Honorable Mentions

two games came out this year that i would probably put in my top 5, no competition. so why didn't i? because i didn't actually play them!

see, as much as i love to play video games, oftentimes i also like to watch them just as much. this has always been great for games that i never intended to play in the first place, like the Final Fantasies and Fortnites of our day… but lately it's also let me take turns with my partner on who plays which new releases.

in fact, for both of the games i'm about to list, i watched my partner play them in full and i've watched no less than two separate people stream them as well. which means, with all that oversaturation, it's probably gonna be a while before i play them myself…

either way! here's my top two games that i didn't play in 2023.

Pizza Tower

this one likely needs no introduction! Wario Land 4 is one of my favorite games of all time, and the way Pizza Tower extends those basic concepts is a masterclass of game design. the moveset is perfectly geared toward accessible speed tech, the level layouts are top notch, the different forms are unique and funny, the art style is GORGEOUS, the combo system adds incredible replay value and pushes the player to their limits…

honestly the only thing stopping me from playing this right now is that the levels are too fresh in my mind, and i'd like a little time to let those memories fade before i dive back in and experience everything in a wave of nostalgia. seeing so much of the game already was totally worth it, though – i had the distinct pleasure of watching my partner learn how to P Rank most of the levels, and the simple joy of watching her build up her skills is one of my standout memories of 2023. proud of you, love!

god, Pizza Tower is a perfect slice of video game. i can't WAIT to play it myself!

Super Mario RPG

as a young kid, i always wanted a physical copy of this game. i could never justify it, though, because i already owned it on Wii Virtual Console, and it was one of the more expensive SNES games i had my eye on… a whole $40 in 2007 money! fast forward to the modern day, and not only do i no longer have easy access to that old Wii copy, but a physical cart now goes for like $90???

blessedly, along comes the Switch remake. i still can't believe this exists – it's a perfect remake in every way, shape, and form! the sprite-based animations are lovingly recreated, the battle system is rebalanced in fun ways, and the music is PERFECTLY re-arranged. even the dialog, which i expected to be completely retranslated… it's smoothed over, but mostly unchanged! the original game's unabashed weirdness and charm is fully intact, and i did NOT expect that out of modern Nintendo.

this is one that i didn't mind watching others play; Super Mario RPG is all about the vibe, and this remake captures that vibe perfectly. i'm excited to play it myself once it's had time to settle! but, for now, i'm perfectly content just vibing with others~

Favorite game?

Nightmare – he is a Fossil. The guys got him Mario and it’s now the only game he plays(and he’s damn good at it). Aside from that, he plays dating sims on his phone when he’s bored(which he would never admit to)

Killer – MINECRAFT forever. He is everything your 3 week mc faze was but all the time and at max intensity. It’s his absolute favorite game because he doesn’t have to think too hard about it and can dissociate to it when he’s having a hard time. It helps that there’s no clear objective or timeline of events he’s tied to, so he can have a level of control he doesn’t irl, plus all the mods, shaders and different maps makes for an as close to happy as he could be Killer.

Dust – Mr “video games are for kids” who absolutely destroys EVERY. SINGLE. BEING. At Just Dance, Dance dance revolution and any rhythm game u can think of. But that doesn’t count…….. why? “Because I said so” -Dust

Horror– Stardew Valley, followed closely by Animal Crossing. Why? Pretty simple. Farming games first, and the controlled social aspect of friendships(and romantic interests in stardew). Stardew is not an easy game, but it’s not challenging in a way Horror can’t keep up with. Repetitive tasks and anything relating to food is his forte, after so many years of cooking and managing his own little farm(not to mention the private, quiet lessons from farmtale!sans when he goes to pick up food for his au)

(all i know about stardew i know through youtube and tiktok. keep that in mind)

Cross – used to be Mr “I can’t afford yo waste time on silly things like that” until he chilled tf out and started trying the games he saw others playing on the communal consoles. His favorite game is, unfortunately, CSGO, and he frequently plays with Killer just to absolutely annihilate the latter.

Zerox – Hue! Charming little game that has his whole heart and soul. First game they 100%ed out of pure love for it and desire for it to not end. Perfect mix between a nice, simple story with a happy ending and genuinely difficult puzzles wrapped in a fun concept!

S – He doesn’t play video games, actually. Of any kind. Yeah… not joking. Any free time he gets is spent somewhere out in nature or at Ccino's. Unfortunately for him, he doesn’t get much truly free time, but Zero does bring him coffee from Ccino's often enough that it’s bearable.

Bonus

Error – The Talos Principle. Perfect, immaculate, holds up incredibly well years later. (he went against Elohim from the first word he uttered). The only thing on par with his love for this game is Road to Gehenna, so, basically, nothing beats it or comes anywhere near. 100/10, author is planning on replaying it very soon as well.

(as a little aside, Error and Zero actually form a tentative friendship over their shared love for puzzle game, though Zero is borderline bad at them.)

Dream – He’s a phone game kinda guy, let’s be honest. The only games he plays are sudoku, word-related and tetris-like. His most recent favourite is 1010

Ink – Human Fall Flat. Need I say more? Probably. The amount of puzzles he’s skipped by accidentally parkouring around/over/through them is insane, and it makes him feel Good. Plus, it has no story he’d inevitably forget.

Blue – Little Nightmares, despite what you may think at first. He finds horror games therapeutic, and worked out his frustration at feeling so metaphorically small through playing Little Nightmares 1 and 2. While 1 is his favorite by far impact-wise, he loves how the story comes full circle and the lore implications of Little Nightmares 2
