FRUITS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN GROWING ON THE TREE OF KNOWLEDGE
The apple, the classic, bright red like struck skin
fits firmly in your palm.
You crush it in your teeth and between your jaws, it snaps like broken bone.
Scavengers feast on what remains, what you leave behind.
The pomegranate, cut in half, bleeds like a heart
from four chambers, from its severed veins
which it doesn't need anymore, taken from its body like this
The peach falls to the ground and no one catches it in time
and it bruises readily, tenderly
martyred for the health of the earth
The cherry grows in pairs
One holds the other which holds the other back
When you split them apart, the ladder of your ribs aches in sympathy
The apricot shines golden from its perch in the golden sun
reminding you of the guardians blinding halo, its fierce flaming swords
Is it ever blinded? The fruit is sweet on the tongue
A banana?
That's just silly.

OH I WILL ! CHECK OUT THE VIDS WHEN I HAVE THE CHANCE.. [the horrors of having no free time nowadays] and. looks at you with my big autistic eyes. tell me more about benny? :0
YAHOO!! I HOPE YOU'LL HAVE FREE TIME SOON ALSO YOU DESERVE A GOOD LONG BREAK!!! STAY STRONG OUT THERE BOSS YOU GOT THIS!!! ok ok so benny AAUGH benny. AGAIN SPOILERS ahead. i guess it's convinient, he has like. probably the most fletched-out story out of all the characters since he's the one you control, even when rodriguez, who is normally the leader, joins your party. although in the rodriguez route benny doesn't reflect all that much on his life from what i remember. speaking of reflecting on his old life! if rod dies and the story kind of, goes how it usually goes, at certain points you get flashbacks to benny's life before the flash. he worked at a burger place with his friends (clyde and liam) where rod was their manager. besides the two guys he was also friends with a girl named amy (at least i'm pretty sure that's her name, based on the fact that a joy mutant called the same thing uses the move "familiar cry" which implies that you knew that person, but also in the hopeless (an in-the-works sequel to the hopeful) it seems like that childhood friend is alive?? idk i'll keep calling her amy it's shorter). she's stated to have friendzoned him and (as i interpret it and i might be a little biased as someone aroace) if im being honest he doesn't really look like he cares that much? if anything clyde and liam (the latter actually called her out for "leading benny on" once) seem to care way, way more.
^i like this dialogue (it goes clyde, benny, clyde btw) i think it's funny but it also serves as an example. he doesn't even get what they're talking about, i think he just doesn't give a shit about "getting their relationship to another level", thruthfully. ok benny aroace icon headcanons to the side, coming back on the tracks um. so benny's like, well he's trying his best as a leader if rod dies, he's pretty much the sole party member to try and support his friends and cheer them on. he tries to help lanks after what happened to him when they got captured by the lovelies at the beginning of the game, even though he doesn't exactly know how to do that. in, geez i think clyde's route? he gets shot through the eye, which either turns him into a joy mutant or eventually kills him later on. i can't for the love of me remember what happens in liam's route but he for sure dies, since it's not his route. in rod's route they just all die at the end. NOW. in benny's route at the sportsdome, he gets shot in the knee, lanks gets taken and clyde gets set on fire but survives (if he isn't joyed). they fight on a little more but both of his friends eventually end up dead, so he tracks the lovelies down and kills them. the final boss is in every route, a guy named hart, the leader of the lovelies. beltboy's run actually has one of the more difficult versions of this fight BUT what is interesting is that for the first part (before hart turns into a joy mutant, beginning a phase 2 of sort) liam and clyde actually ARE THERE TO HELP!!! like. in benny's spirit. this doesn't happen for liam or clyde, they're stronger because of their anger and grief, especially liam, but i think what allows benny to win is his kind attitude and frienship, which is really cheesy but idk what other way i could interpret that. THIS also. allows him to survive in the end! as five is relieved that he's approached her like a normal person and gets him patched up. idk idk he makes me feel so many things. kind of unrelated and again, i'm probably biased cuz i love projecting, but i think reading him as an aroace man like. makes sense. i see a lot of how i think in him. he does make comments about "getting the girl", yes, but i think that's more to like, please his friends and keep their spirits up or whatever. other than that he seems disinterested in a romantic relationship with amy, it doesn't bother him at all it's not sexual or anything, he tells five that "he needs a friend" when he stumbles into her hideout half-dead after the fight with hart. aroace guy TO ME!!
^me right now as we speak btw. more dialogue propaganda also
and he loves his friends!! ok i think that's all i can recall

anyone wanna recommend some books for me to put on my newly revived tbr list? i like fantasy mostly (anything from witches to dragons to magic to fairies to vampires to angels & demons (i am a former good omens blog after all) etc) i love romance but not thrilled about sex. i can read it but i don’t want it to be too heavy with it. can be older or newer series/stand alones as well.
right now i’m reading fourth wing by rebecca yarros because my best friend recommended it to me (she just finished reading it). i’m almost halfway through and liking it so far.
also it doesn’t necessarily have to be a “good” book, because “good” is subjective anyway. different things make a story good to different people. plus sometimes things don’t have to be “good” for them to be enjoyable. “guilty” pleasures are soooo welcome
i’ll be honest, i’m 29 and i haven’t really read a real book since i was in late high school, early college? (like just for fun, ykwim?) don’t judge me pls.
(in my defense, i read a TON of good omens (and a few other fandoms) fanfic that were definitely long enough to be books so. it’s not like i don’t read. but that’s been a couple years now too.) plus i read comics (webtoons) and manga sometimes, which in my opinion counts.

An important thing to remember as an artist that started out drawing characters crudely and then started learning the fundamentals, at first your art will not look nice.
At first, drawing faces and bodies in different positions will make your characters look weird, then poor perspective will make your characters look weird, and finally when all the kinda things I mentioned above will be dealt with, just the hype of finally knowing how to draw anatomy will bite you in the ass because you can do all these things, you can draw them correctly or close to that, but whether that's figure drawing knowledge gaps, or awkwards poses/composition, or just not a very harmonious combination of realism and stylization in facial features or in general, but your before and after pictures might get this look of "clear objective technical improvement but many would consider it a downgrade"
That's a very common thing. I used to be in this before/after art community, and it was so toxic it was a meme within the community that no matter how much you've improved there will be people that will say that the before is better. There's a seed of truth to these words though, what they fundamentally get wrong is this implication that you "ruined your art"
That's a big example of why you shouldn't listen to non-art people for art advice. Keep going. You're closer to your art dreams than you ever were, you just need to look into all these things like the remaining knowledge gaps or personality to your art you might've lost as you were on your anatomy grind.
Keep creating, keep looking at art that inspires you and try to think of how to make yourself like your art better. Don't get stuck on it, if it begins being unfun, please do take a breather. Also, none of that is objective, people will still prefer things different to what you find beautiful. It's alright, create what you like, that's what this post is about. If you don't wanna, don't focus on aesthetics, just the process of creating art is fun and will eventually get you in the right place, that's what I do, I just occasionally throw in things I like and sometimes they work. Take care.
These are my current thoughts on the topic. I wouldn't take them too close to heart, this is just a blogging site and I'm blogin 👍

someone suggested i use reddit for buying and selling stuff, so i have checked it out, but i can't post a lot usually bc i have to grind for karma or whatever, but why is reddit so focused on stats? most social media is of course with the number of views on videos, likes on a post, followers, etc., but i feel like reddit has it for literally every aspect of community engagement on here. does anyone know why or is that just a reddit thing..?
