- being "good" or "bad" in bed is a normative bullshit question I am frankly annoyed tav can even ask, because different people like different things, and this game is otherwise a lot better written about sex and gender stuff. also if you play haarlep's game, tav lies there like a starfish doing nothing at all, and haarlep likes it?? we should get rid of normative sexual evaluations of others smh
- there are people who like topping, people who like bottoming, frankly this is kinda toxic homophobic/misogynistic "haha, he was the one *getting* fucked all the time" implying a. the fuck-ee is dominated by the fuck-er and fucking is a violent act of dominance (untrue), and b. bottoms are somehow lesser than tops? so much wrong with this!!

to conclude we know absolutely nothing about raphael's sexual preferences, we just know haarlep is (rightfully) angry at him and being a slave, and raphael has ego issues which like come one we already knew that from day 1
I’m completely with you anon. The only thing I would like to comment on (and this is just my own interpretation) is the fact that Raphael can’t deny Haarlep anything. I don’t think that’s out of any fondness, I completely think its through Haarlep’s magic…which…just kind of makes it worse since Haarlep is there to spy on him for Mephistopheles. You saw how hard it was for Tav to deny him use of their body and mind. I’d imagine it works the same way with Raph, even though he’s a cambion. In my mind, the whole dynamic between Haarlep and Raph is fucked and Raphael is just trying to make the most out of a bad situation (I wrote a whole post on it a little while back, but it is of course just my own interpretation). Which just makes it even WORSE that Tav behaves the way they do about the whole thing. Like damn. I’d be mad as hell too.
I might write a standalone post on the weird discourse on Raphael’s sex-life at some point because it does somewhat fascinate me. Everyone is entitled to their own interpretation of any work, and that is something I hold sacred. What bothers me sometimes is the way that people talk about it. For example, the problematic way of portraying tops/bottoms and the shaming part that you also talked about in this ask.
What bothers me even more is when people feel the need to drag that interpretation into fan-spaces to reduce the character to just those aspects as a “gotcha”. I don’t know if that is just me, but if there’s characters that I don’t like, I don’t even use their tags. I’ve written a couple of hate posts on the Emperor. They might show up under the tag just because Tumblr’s algorithm is weird, but I’ve never tagged them with the character’s name, just in case there are fans who use the tag and find that annoying.

Oh me oh my. I wrote again. What has come over me lately? Tsk tsk
Anyway, reader has chronic pain (namely fibromyalgia and MS), the clone brothers risk it all to help them. I think this one is gender neutral as well? I didn't edit this one either so I might've slipped up and used "she" somewhere. Will probably put this on AO3 too. Reader is Black.
The Hantengu Clones brave the sun to take care of reader
Your eyes slowly cracked open one morning. The light from the sun being extra harsh to you and your aching head. Your throat was bone dry, your body heavy, and you felt pain on every inch of your body. Quickly as you could, you checked the bedside table for your daily meds only to realize you forgot to pick up the refills from the pharmacy.
"Oh... I'm so doomed" you groaned.
You climbed out of bed before the room started spinning and you stumbled a bit, your blood pressure not getting the memo that you're upright. Noticing your boyfriends weren't with you, you decided to find them and try to start your day the best you could.
Sekido, Karaku, Urogi, Aizetsu, and even little Zohakuten were standing around in the kitchen bantering about breakfast that Sekido made before they all turned to your slumped form leaving your room. The men grew completely silent as they watched you walk with a limp to the refrigerator. Your eyes were glossy, but vacant like you were moving on auto pilot. You hair was a mess and if they looked closely they could see you breathing heavily. You wordlessly opened the fridge to grab the carton of orange juice just for it to fall straight out of your hand like butter. It seemed like an eternity had passed before you noticed and looked down at your hand to find you had little feeling in it.
"Y/N, are you okay?" asked Karaku as he stepped towards you, placing a hand on your shoulder.
You flinched like you just noticed his presence before you started to cry and eventually wail.
"What did you do, asshole?!" shouted Sekido, as he punched Karaku in the chest.
"Y/N, what's wrong? Maybe we can fix it. Don't cry. I get sad when you cry" said Aizetsu, who hovered near you unsure if he could touch you.
You opened your mouth to speak, but everything started spinning again and you felt yourself falling before everything went black.
A few minutes later you found yourself waking up on the couch with five pairs of eyes watching over you.
"Y/N, can you hear me?!" Urogi shouted and you flinched at the noise.
"Not so loud. You're upsetting them. I hate when they're upset" said Zohakuten.
"Ugh I'm up, I'm up" you said in a non convincing voice.
"Why did you faint on us? Don't tell me you've caught a cold! Irresponsible ass humans" said Sekido.
You looked down at your lap, anxiously grabbing the blanket and biting your lower lip. "So there's something I never told you guys about me. You see I have several chronic illnesses and they're all incurable. Some days are better than others and some days are really really bad."
"What illnesses do you have?" said Urogi, leaning in closer in curiosity.
"Well the main ones are fibromyalgia and multiple sclerosis" you said, only to look up at them all with their heads tilted in confusion like puppies.
"Fibromyalgia causes me to hurt all over my body. Especially 18 main points like my shoulders. Even this blanket and my clothes kinda hurt. It usually flares up after I do too much in a day."
"Ooh that explains why you started crying. Sorry Y/N!" said Karaku, who went to rub your shoulder before catching himself. "Maybe that's not the best idea right now."
"Okay and what's the muscle cytosis thing?" asked Urogi.
"It's called multiple sclerosis, you dunce!"
"So you guys know about the immune system and everything, right? It's supposed to fight off illnesses and keep the body healthy, but sometimes it gets confused and fights the body instead. With MS, my immune system attacks my brain and spinal cord. Sometimes parts of my body goes numb or burns, like my feet, or my eyesight blurs, if not, goes out altogether. Among other things. That illness will get worse over time, too."
"Why didn't you tell us about something so important? It makes me sad when you hide stuff from us" said Aizetsu, tearing up.
You looked away from them back to your lap. "I'm not used to people sticking around after they know my situation and limitations. And that's just with humans! You guys are like ten humans each. I didn't want y'all to think I was a burden and leave because I can't keep up. Usually I have medicine to help me feel a little better or at least ignore some of it, but I was so busy I forgot to pick up my refills. I can't really move too far like this so I'm kinda screwed."
Zohakuten rushed to you in haste and palmed your face, squishing your cheeks together. "What do you need us to do? How can we help?"
"Well heat 'akes 'ith worse so keepin' me coo', but I nedth my med'cine the most. And a good hea'thy dwink" you said.
You all turned and glanced at the window and the rays of sunshine being blocked out. "I'll go first thing at sunset" said Zohakuten, as he released your cheeks and went to make a list of things to buy.
"He's such a good boy" you said, proudly.
"Let me help! I'm good too!" shouted Urogi.
"We'll all split up and get something from the list. We'll get back faster that way." said Sekido.
They all helped you back to bed and tried to make you as comfortable as possible. It wasn't enough and they all stood on edge as they heard you tossing and thrashing in the other room. The pain driving you up the wall like you were being torn apart limb from limb.
"Oh no!" said Aizetsu, staring at his phone. "It says the pharmacy will close before sunset. It's not like the convenience store will have these kinds of drugs."
"Maybe I can fly really fast and stick to the shadows to-"
"To turn into fried chicken?" said Karaku with a huff.
"I could have my dragons go get it."
"And tear up the whole roadway?" asked Aizetsu.
They all grew quiet in defeat before realizing Sekido was mysteriously silent.
"I might have a solution," he began and pulled out a box from his kimono sleeve.
"Douma recommended these patches of wisteria and spider lily flower. Supposedly, they'll let us go into the daylight without turning to ashes immediately."
"That's great! Y/N will feel better in no time!" said Urogi.
"What's the catch?" said Karaku and Zohakuten in unison.
"The patch does have the wisteria component so our powers, speed, and regeneration will be slowed greatly. We'll be out there longer than we would if it were night and while we won't turn to ash, we'll still feel the pain of burning."
They all fell silent again before they jumped at the sound of a loud crying and sobbing coming from your room.
Before they knew it, they were each putting on a patch and preparing to get whatever you needed.
At some point, you were so tired from the pain that you fell asleep only to jolt awake at the overwhelming smell of burning entering your nostrils.
Springing up out of bed thinking something caught fire, an actual common occurrence in the house, you ran to the kitchen as best you could only to see a pile of smoking bodies twitching and breathing heavily.
Without saying anything, they each sat up, still regenerating, and held out a bag to you. Urogi had your medicine, but was nursing a severely burnt wing and talon. Sekido had tubs of ice cream in one arm, while the other was burned away. Aizetsu had a bouquet of flowers and a severe burn along his torso and back. Karaku had a bunch of differently flavored hydrating sports drinks, but one of his horns, arms, and some of his hair was singed. Lastly, Zohakuten beat a drum and a small dragon held out a bear plushie that was wrapped in bandages that said "Get well soon" while the boy nursed his burned face and burns on his legs and most of his drums.
You lips trembled before you fell to your knees and burst in tears, lunging to wrap your arms around as many of them as you could.
"Did we mess up? A-Are these not your favorite flowers?" asked Aizetsu.
"Do you hate the bear? It's the one I hated the least" asked Zohakuten.
"If you don't like any of these flavors, I don't care. We don't waste food in this house" said Sekido.
"I know you don't like blue flavor, but I wanted to get one of each. I suggest the green one first" said Karaku with a wink and a wince.
"And I have the most important thing! The medicine!" said Urogi, puffing his chest out in pride as whatever feathers he had left turned fluffy and excited.
"Thank you!" you said hugging them tighter and crying harder.
"OWW!"

He Saved Me (Abe Guevara One-Shot)
Another One-Shot for a Frank Grillo Character. I absolutely LOVE Point Blank, so of course I had to write a One-Shot about it. This one is somewhat different from what I usually write. Because of the emotions in this one. I decided to make it a Self Insert, instead of my usual Readers Insert. I hope that you´ll love it anyway.

Being suicidal. It's not only about wanting to take your own life. Sometimes it's about taking that last drink, hoping that you'll die of alcohol poisoning. Sometimes it's about not quit smoking, hoping that you'll get lunge cancer. Sometimes it's about not eating. Sometimes it's about not bothering to put your seatbelt on in your car, when you speed up on the freeway. Sometimes it's about just not give a damn. Sometimes it was about living inside of my head. Sometimes it was that suffocating feeling of depression, eating me up from the inside, piece by piece. And as for me, I wanted it to eat me up. Praying each night for God (if he exists) to not let me wake up the next day. That never happened. Every day I woke up, to my shit show of a life. Working that same boring job, that I hated, for minimal wage. Having to turn every single dime, to make sure it would get me to my next pay check.
Friends? I didn't even know what that was. Co-workers, yes. Online friends, yes. Friends, real living friends, no. The few I managed to get through the years either left me, or got their lives together. Or both. By now I've given up. Screw life. I might come off as hard, and that was kinda my intent. People scared me. From experience they hurt me, so to keep the few pieces left of my soul, safe. I kept them at arms length. If anyone got too close, I shut them off. And not always in a nice way.
Boys? Men? Yes. I had that. A lot of it. Didn't care. They got what they wanted, I got what I needed. Like a trade deal. It worked. It didn't exactly make me feel any better. But other than that, it worked. I was fucked up anyway, so what was another dick, other than just that, another dick?
Psychiatrist? No, no way in hell. To give my whole tragic little life story to a person who's JOB was to listen. Who got payed to listen. Payed to give advice. Advice that didn't work anyway. Because they had no idea, no fucking clue what was going on in my head, in my life. They didn't understand. How could they? How could anyone understand? Fuck, half of the time I didn't even understand why I did the things I did. Fucked up. I told you I was fucked up.
Usually my days were pretty OK, monotone, but OK. Usually I did everything on auto pilot. Most of the time I didn't even feel how tired I was. But some days. Some days, everything shattered around me. Like a bomb went off and blew out every single one of my windows. Like my walls was being tored down by a wrecking ball, and I had no idea how to stop it.
And that particular day. That day I Met Abe. That was one of those days. The worst I've had in months. One of those days, I just wanted to give up. And if it wasn't for my strange fucked up caring for other people. I'd put my car head on into a semi truck that day. But I didn't, instead I took it to a carwash. Don't ask me why I decided to wash my car the same day I planned on ending it all. We all do stupid shit. So don't ask, just listen to the story I'm about to tell you.

It wasn't the first time that week I woke up in a bed that wasn't mine. I lost count of how many it'd been. Didn't matter anyway. Last night this semi blonde guy gave me what I needed in those 5-7 minutes. It was OK. Not the best I've had, but, not the worst either. This was kinda where I was at the moment. Kept on finding the ones that seemed to consistent be in the middle of the pack. Easy guys. Boring guys. Fuck it!
I hit the shower. I should probably just walk out of there, before he woke up, but I needed a shower. And he didn't care about me, any more than I cared about him. I locked the door to the bathroom. I really didn't want him in there. He was average. Not too big either. Just enough to satisfy that hole in me. Some people use food to fill the empty place inside. Me? Guess I used sex. At least that kept me somewhat skinny, combined with the fact that the money I had almost just covered rent. Pasta was basically my diet by now.
I don't exactly know, what happened in there in that shower that morning. But something broke inside of me. And I cried, and cried, and cried. My tears mixed with the water in the shower, washing them away before they even got the chance to roll down my cheeks. But I felt them. This is it Talia. I told myself. Today, this is it. This is no life. You can't go on like this. So just end it. Fuck everything. It'll never get better anyway, right? So there's no use.
I made sure that there was no evidence of my tears, before I left the bathroom. He was already awake. Of course he was. Sitting by his coffee table with a coffee cup. Looking at me.
- You want a cup?
- Nah..
I answered. Looking at the cup again.
- I'll just buy one from Starbucks or something.
I looked away from him as I picked up my purse, and made sure everything was still in there. Then I quickly moved towards the door.
- You want my phone number?
He asked. Pathetic..
- Why?
My voice might have sounded harder then I originally intended it too. But, fuck it. I was never gonna talk to this guy again anyway.
- We just slept together!
He looks at me. God! Like that will matter in a day of two. Like he'll ever even use my number.
- Again, why?
I didn't let him say anything else. I just left. Maybe I should have given him my ex's number or something. Why do I hate being mean? Everyone is always mean to me, so why does me being mean make me feel like crap? I kicked a trash as hard as I could, before I got into my car.
My original plan was to wrap my car around a tree or something. And I can't really tell you what happened. But for some fucked up reason, I decided to wash my car first. Maybe it was that little voice in my head telling me to give it one last shot. Or maybe it was me, wanting to put some make up on before I decided to meet the man upstairs. Either way, it was one of the best choices I've ever made. Coincidence? Maybe. Devine intervention? Could be. Either way. That choice, that little choice to drive my car through the local carwash, for my last dimes. That was the choice that saved me. Guess it wasn't my time that day. Guess my destiny was greater than that.
Inside the carwash, I put my music on, cranked the volume up to max. Shut the world out. It made me feel a little better. Music had a tendency to work that way. Made me smile. Although the smile didn't feel genuine. I had literally nothing to smile about. A forced smile, brought on by the music. Fuck it!
The music was probably why I didn't hear what was happening in the carwash, and me putting my make up on was probably why I didn't see anything.
I didn't notice anything before I drove out of the machine. I had to stop the car, see if it was clear for me to drive. Turned the music down. Then, there was a tap on my window. I tried to ignore it. Probably an addict looking for a fix. Another tap. Fuck this shit!
I fished up my wallet, as I opened the window. Didn't look at whoever was standing outside.
- Take it all! I don't need it.
I said, while putting my open hand with whatever was in my wallet out the window.
- Mam, I need your car!
Oh for fucks sake! I need this car. Being robbed was so just what I needed right now.
- I have pepper spray in my purse!
I say, slowly turning my head towards the voice. The guy leans onto my car, looking at me.
- I have a gun in my pants!
His eyes, brown, dark hair, strong features. Jesus!
- Why don't you use it?
I say, not breaking eye contact. Showing him that I'm not one to mess with right now. I don't fucking care if he blows my brains out. Truth be told, it will be amazing if he does.
Before I get to think anymore, or say anything else. He showes his gun in my face. And for some strange reason, it scares me. I can't explane why. I was determined to leave this world. So why was this so scary?
He gets in the back seat, pushes the gun agains my ribs.
- Drive!
Of course I could have denied. I could have done that. If I did he'd probably shoot me, take my car, and my pathetic excuse for a life would be over. But... Instead I started to drive. Again, don't ask me why. I don't have an answer as to why I did that...
He guides me to an abandon building. Tells me where to stop, and then instructs for me to exit the car. The whole time he has his gun pointed at me. It's not like I was scared. Not really. But it was kinda uncomfortable. And I HATE to be uncomfortable.
- Do you think I'm scared of that?
I say, looking at his gun. He looks down at it as well, before putting it back into his pants.
- I had to make sure you'd cooperate!
- You could've just asked!
I say, before turning around to get my purse out from my car. When I turn towards him again, the gun is back in his hand. Pointed at my forehead.
- Keep the fucking pepper spray in your purse!
I roll my eyes at him.
- Paranoid, much?
I ask, as he comes all the way up to me, pushing me against my car. Dragging his gun down my cheek, before placing it under my chin. Looking into my eyes.
- That smart mouth of yours will get you into trouble, you know!
His eyes locked on mine. He sounds hard, but at the same time, there is a softness there.
- Oh, please. If you wanted to kill me you'd done so already!
He takes one step away from me. Looks at me. Assessing me.
- I need help!
He says. Before he once again puts his gun back in his pants.
- Yeah.. You and me both..
I mutter under my breath. I couldn't help it, the words just fell out of me, and I prayed to higher power that he didn't hear me.
- What kinda trouble are you in?
He asks, as he drags his shirt over his head. Turns around and picks up a bag from the floor.
I can't take my eyes away from his bare upper body. I've seen a lot of them. Bare upper bodies that is. Usually they were pretty common. Some had muscles, some had six packs. Some were skinny. Usually nothing much to rest your eyes on. But this guy. Seriously fit. Like nothing I've ever seen before. I don't even realise that he looks back at me.

The interception went well enough. Of course with illegal stuff there's always a thing or two that goes wrong. Thankfully Abe had experience with this kind of things, and had a backup plan for every single little setback. Spun my unorganised head around. But in a strange way, being with him, although he was worlds apart from my life, made me feel safe. Like I finally found a home. I didn't even know what a home, a psychological home felt like. Abe just effortlessly made me feel calm.
We didn't share that many words. So don't ask me how or why I felt that way. Maybe it was the intenseness of how we met? Maybe it was the fact that he, and his gun, saved my life that day. Or maybe I really fell in love with him. But how could I? I didn't even know him. A brief meeting, and well the physical... thing... Fuck it. I didn't even know what love was. Damaged goods as I was. Besides, I didn't fall in love. At least not for real.
He kept in touch though. No matter where he was in the world. He told me what he was doing. Small stuff. Like friends. I wanted to be there with him. Still wanted my life to change. But those suffocating feelings dissipated more and more after he entered my life. That wish to disappear from the world, that wish just vanished. I danced to music again. And the need to fill that emptiness inside, wasn't there anymore, simply because the emptiness was gone.
Just as fast as they came. They disappeared. And even though I feel this, every day I feel it. I still can't believe that ONE SINGLE person, that you don't even know. Can have that kind of enormous impact in your life.
But he did. He saved mine!

FUCK its the end of January - Diary of a Big Ole Gay 1/31/2023
Hey whores, its me your bitch back on his bullshit.
So I have a interview tomorrow and I'm waiting to hear back from like three, four different places. so its a lot of waiting.
(yeah I kinda hate having to sit on my ass and waiting)
Also I probably didn't watch that much queer stuff this week so sorry? I mean I had to slow down a little whores. most of this stuff is stuck behind a paywall. (pssst I have a ko-fi if you wanna help a whore out).
The Legend of Lylah Clare (1968) dir. Robert Aldrich
So this is one of those movies that had a queer element and then were also just very poorly recieved for completly unrelated reasons, (think Sylvia Scarlett or Glen or Glenda). This film is about 80% less gay then that. On one hand you have this very meta type of patisches to it its a lot of elements from things like Rebecca and Sunset Boulivard.
You basically have this young actress who has this preternaturally ability to imitate Lylah Clare a golden age star who died in a spectacular fasion and she bascially falls into the wild child/Bisexual Vamp role. If you remember me discussing Lola from Pandoras Box then you have a sense of what I'm talking about.
TBH it is very campy and fun but the reason why this is on the list is that one of the characters is a lesbian and she was fucking Lola Rebecca, *checks notes*, sorry Lylah Clare.
Muchachas de Uniforme (1951) dir. Alfredo B. Crevenna
so this is a mexican remake of the classic and while there are some aspects I really like about it (the expressionist type architecture, the costume design), it tones down a lot of the queerness of the original.
I will say that this
1. is a lot darker and if you know how the original ends then know that they go for the bummer ending. (bury your gays)
2. I watched this on youtube and there were no English Subs so I had to use the auto-translate function which meant I only got the barest bones concept of the dialogue. its buggy, spanish is a fast spoken language and also if I understood spanish the dialogue would probably be really pretty. So understand there is a language barrier for me here.

Madchen in Uniform (1958) dir. Géza von Radványi
This one is a lot more faithful to the original but they also butcher the bedroom kiss scene. However they do make that up with this kiss later on when they extend the play plot point.
I will say that I do like aspects of this film, i like there take on it but the original madchen in uniform is far superior to both of the remakes.
and thats not to say that the remakes are bad films they have a great aestetic, they add little details the original does but its something about the original that just sings in a way these ones dont
Everything Else I watched this week and a half
as you can tell I watched Infinity Pool, It was great. Horror Autuers are like lets shit on rich people and I'm all for it. Its giving sci-fi taking to its psycological horror extremes and what happens when you give in negative nihilism.
Also watched 2017 B&B, its a gay thriller and its pretty good if a bit triggering.
I finished the rest of the Hammer House of Horror and umm what else...
So I watched Bi-coastal, one of the Catalina Bisexual Features they did in the 70s directed by Tom DeSimone, (or as he went by then Lance Brookes). The men in it are definetly hollywood twink and not the sexy Gage Men, but despite that Bi-Coastal was V V hot. and honestly very bi positive for the time.

I don't think people who agree that Adam is an abuser based on the fics you all write get to complain about antis. Never mind how you make Cherry into a triggering character now, because people can't have anything. Must always be reminded in series with imperfect male characters that all men would hurt and abuse us because we can't ever have this one thing. Men in fandom get to have their fantasies of cute girls but everything in anime with male characters must always involve them abusing.
Adam isn't an abuser. Being so firm on this stance that he is an abuser diminishes the meaning of the word. What he does in the show (despite S being a race where anything goes and everyone being aware of this) would be considered assault.
But do you know who has also assaulted others? Joe and Shadow :)
Do you know why it doesn't matter? Because it isn't real. But also- everyone consented to this. Think of underground fight clubs, people are consenting to getting the shit beat out of them. In sk8 everyone consented to the beefs they took part in and knew what would happen as a result.

Anyway I asked a mutual and after some careful decoding we have come to the conclusion that you believe I write Adam as an abuser and that others do the same. What are you reading? Because it isnt my work. The first multipart fic for this fandom that I wrote might have depicted Adam in a that light, but I was releasing that as the show aired and I don't remember the majority of that fic (I have also grown as a person who participates in fandom and wouldn't write him the way I used to).
Other than that? I wrote him in age swap simping for Kaoru and Langa and I wrote him in confidence sk8 simping for everyone. There is an entire thread on my blog about him adopting cats and it is my favourite thing in the world and so on and so forth.
Also, I can complain about whatever I want. You certainly are and so far most of this reply has been about your grammar and I could go on about how it looks like you typed the word "abuser" and then used the auto fill function on your phone until something that sorta made sense showed up.

Authentic Costumes: Gladiators
-Yes! The costumes came!
Andrew walked back into the living room, with a simple brown postal box. Jack stopped what he was doing, and looked at his friend.
-Good. They were cutting it pretty late. I mean the party is in 2 hours.
-Well, no need to complain anymore. Hurry let's bust them out and start getting ready. The site said the transformation process will take about an hour.
The two friends worked together to open the box. Inside were two authentic gladiators costumes and two jars of glowing purple liquid. In addition, there was a file describing the costumes in more detail.
- "Octavius and Maximus" Wow those are some bad-ass names. Apparently, they were the Ancient Roman's version of a tag team. It says that they were undefeated, loved by the roman people, and were able to retire, with a comfortable amount of winnings from their triumphs. If I'm reading this correct these potions will transform us into Octavius and Maximus at the height of their careers.
-It, also, says that Maximus was the stronger of the two. So ... I'll be taking this vial.
-Aww come on ...
- No dude. Look at the size of this armor both these guys must have been so ripped. It's not going to matter that I'm going to be slightly stronger than you. Besides, I'm the one that paid for them.
-Fine, fine, fine. Well here goes nothing. Cheers.

Both guys remove the tops on their jars and drink the purple liquid. Jack becoming Maximus. And, Andrew becoming Octavius. An intense sensation starts filling thier bodies, as with each heart beat the glowing liquid spreads through every vein in their body.
-Dude, I don't feel so ... good. I'm getting ... pretty dizzy ... and tired. My heart is beating ... too fast.
-Just calm down. It affecting me too. The instructions says it affects everyone differently. Just try to sleep it off. But, I feel great. Damn, I feel pumped. I feel ... I feel ... I feel ...
And, like that Andrew fell unconscious. Meanwhile, Jack slowly started drifting off. The last thing his drowsy eyes saw was hair filling up his chest. And, was his stomach bulging out?
Dreams of being in the arena filled their mind, until Jack started coming into consciousness. His body felt heavy and swore. He was feeling the effects of the hard life style of the gladiator's life. Still unable to shake the sleepiness out of his eyes. He rubbed his face, with his hand. His arms felt heavy and strong. And, his hands were rough against his breaded face.
Slowly he moved to lay on his side. As he did, he felt a strange pressure on his stomach move with him. Completing the turn to his side, he felt his stomach extend far beyond his body. At this point, Jack quickly sat up and finally forced himself awake. He stared at his naked body, as his clothes were ripped around him. The sight of his belly and and moobs blocked anything underneath his gut.
He looked to the body next to him. Andrew, also, got fat and hairy. But, not as fat as Jack, now was. It also seemed like Andrew's new body had a height advantage, which helped him look slimmer.
Jack got off the floor and ran to the nearest mirror, his body jiggling with every step. All though he took up more space, the world around him seemed a bit bigger. He saw his reflection and screamed. His fears were confirmed. He was fat, short, and looked way older. The loud rough deep gladiatorial scream woke up Andrew, and he shot straight up.
-What ... what! What going on! Wait Jack ... what going ... is that you? What up with my body?
Andrew was now exploring his stocky body.
-What the fuck dude! You got the wrong package. This has to be some kind of joke costume. Why am I so fat and short compared to you. I thought I was supposed to be the better one.
-No it can't be wrong, I made sure. These are supposed to be authentic gladiator costumes. I'll call up. Something had to go wrong.
-You better. We can't go to the frat party like this. The costumes are the only thing that fit us, now. I'd be fine showing off my body if we were fit. But, I don't want to walk around shirtless with this gut. Not to mention, the fact that we look way to old now to be at a college party.
Andrew called the costume company. He explained what happened and the mumbled voice started answering his questions.
- So, what did they say?
- Okay. Don't be mad.
-Why...?
-Well there is nothing wrong with the costume. This is how authentic gladiator look like. Apparently they were all fat vegetarians. In fact, it seems like your current body type made for the best gladiator. It's seem to be a common misconception that they are buff, because of Hollywood. And, if we wanted to be hot gladiators we should have ordered the Hollywood gladiators package.
-Damn this fucking sucks. Shit! Well we can't go to the party now. I guess I'll post mates us some bigger clothes. How old would you say I look. 45? I guess there gotta be something a middle aged man can do on Halloween. Maybe a bar or something. I mean we still gotta make the most of tonight. I guess it will be kinda fun. I mean we won't be this age for another 25 years and tonight we will be able to legally drink. It's kinda like seeing our future selves, but hopefully I won't get this fat.
Jack started laughing. Andrew, who remained quiet, started up again.
-Well ... um .... there is actually more. Remember don't get mad. I'm sure we'll be able to laugh about this later.
-What!? What are you talking about.
-Well ... you see ... this authentic package is mainly bought by people you work in areas were this body is best suited for. Like gladiator impersonator, construction worker, or any other person who wants to be a big beefy guy.
-Yes ... and ...what?
-Well ... these type of people need the costumes for more more than one night. So, they sell the transformation liquid in a bundle.
-What? So we are stuck like this for a work week? Are you fucking serious. We have class tomorrow. I have test. I can't take it looking like a completely different person.
-No not a week. We were supposed to take a drop. That would have lasted a 24 hours. But, the jar has enough drops to last a year. So, we are stuck like this, at least until, next Halloween.
-What the fuck! What are we going to do? We can't stay like this?
-I know ... I know. But customer service is going to handle it. This isn't the first time this has happened. They got a connection with witness protection. So, for a year we are gonna have new lives. But, ... um ... there also might be a chance that we are stuck like this.
-What!?
-Like, I said it affects everyone differently. We drank a whole jar. Costumer service said most people, in cases like ours, revert back to normal. But, some also change permanently. We won't find out until next Halloween.
Jack felt tears welling up in his eyes. HIs body was shaking with rage. He was mad at Andrew for not researching enough. He was mad at himself for wanting to do this in the first place. He hated his new body. Even being in Andrew's new body would have been better. These strong emotions were rising to the surface.
Jack Slammed into Andrew. Their skin pressed against each other. Suddenly muscle memory took over, as the bodies wrestled against each other. It was like a dance these two bodies practiced for a life time. It just felt natural. They way their skin touched and the power of their bodies filled both men with passionate aggression. Finally, Jack was able to pin down Andrew. He looked into Andrew's eyes and smiled lovingly.
-I win again
Jack leans down and begins kissing Andrew. They moan as their bodies and tongues rub against each other. Suddenly they both snapped out of it.
Jack quickly gets off of Andrew
-What the fuck was that?
- I don't know it was like our bodies went on auto pilot. This must been something these bodies have always done. You know it wasn't strange for gladiators to have sex with each other.
-oh shut up!
They both just sat in silence. There bodies sore and heavy. Both men now looked at each other in a different light. In their new bodies they found each other extremely attractive. They minds were screaming no, but the urges in their body were getting stronger. They both got up and faced each other. Their bellies were pressed against each other. And before they could continue their love making there was a knock on the door, as two police officers came in. They came to escort the two men to their new lives. Their futures where unknown, but the two men were happy they had each other.

I was bored one day and gave Coco a daughter who is older than Leti but you know Leti doesn’t actually want to share Coco. So, let’s see how this will all unfold.

“I got a daughter, she’s older than Leti,” Coco looked at Bishop. “She reached out and wants to meet me. I told her she could come here, she’s eighteen and heading off to college.” He smiled. “Seems super fucking smart and goal oriented.”
Bishop nodded slowly before looking around the place. “You invited her here?”
“Figured if Leti likes it here she will too.” He shrugged. “I don’t know. Her name is Xochitl, call her Flower.”
“Your ex named your daughter that and then called her Flower?” Angel shook his head. “She looks like you then?”
“Nah Leti is the one who looks like me the most,” He laughed. “Feel bad for her.”
“Coco?” A brunette walked into the clubhouse and looked around. “Coco?”
“That’s her, that’s my girl,” Coco smiled before moving towards her. “Hey, thanks for coming here.”
“Hey,” She offered a smile before tucking her hair behind her ears. “This is interesting. Never been inside of a clubhouse before, besides like the rec center back home.”
Coco nodded. “Let me introduce you to my club, my brothers.” He lead her towards the group. “This is Flower.”
“Hey,” She shook the men’s hands. “This is an interesting place. I’ve never heard of any motorcycle clubs before.”
“You’re not from around here?” Angel looked at her. “Where are you from?”
She shook her head. “I grew up in Utah, my mom, my dad and some siblings. I’m visiting California for school and I reached out to Coco, I’ve always been curious to see who I get half of my genes from. My mom always told me about him but she also told me that he’s a lot of crazy and unpredictable.”
“Sounds right,” Coco smiled at her. “So what college are you going to?”
“USC,” She smiled proudly. “Full ride scholarship for academics and softball. If I didn’t get into college, I was gonna go enlist in the marines like my dad. It was cool traveling all over with him. One time we lived in Japan for an entire summer.”
“I used to be a sharpshooters for the Marines,” He looked at her and nodded slowly. “Full transparency, I’ve got two other kids. One that comes around, her name is Leti and one that doesn’t. Different moms.”
She nodded before looking around. “Oh,” she let her eyes settle back on him. “That’s cool, a sister. I’m the only girl at home. My younger brothers tower over me like it’s nothing.”
“You look like your mom,” Coco lit a cigarette before offering it to her. Smiling as she waved him off. “Good, smoking is bad for you.”
“Can we go outside and talk?” She looked at him. “Please?”
He nodded before he started to walk towards the exit. “I didn’t know where else to have you meet me. Figured this would be neutral enough grounds.”
She shrugged. “It’s okay, I just don’t think I want our full first conversation to be around so many people.” She smiled at him. “It’s kind of cool to meet you finally, I always dreamed of meeting you. I grew up well, if you’re concerned about that type of thing. No kids, no criminal record, no rebelling against my mom.” She chuckled. “I did grow up without a lot of my culture though.”
“What do you mean?” He looked at her. “You speak Spanish right?”
“Yeah!” She laughed and covered her face. “I speak Spanish but the neighborhood and schools were mostly white kids and all mom’s family is in California and they only visited every blue moon. Disowned my mom for marrying a white man.”
He nodded slowly and smiled. “At least you speak Spanish, you didn’t miss much though. Just crazy ass family parties and arguing and flying chanclas.” He pointed to the SUV that was parked carefully next to the bikes. “That yours?”
“Yeah, graduation gift.” She smiled. “It’s a little less pretentious than a Range Rover but still gives off a vibe. It was better to drive out here than my Audi.”
“Spoiled little rich girl,” he looked at her and irked an eyebrow. “You got a job or anything?”
She nodded. “Yeah, I work part time in an auto body shop, I do oil changes and switch out air filters. Sometimes I get to change tires and that’s always a fun time.” She shook her head. “I get more spoiled because I’m the different one of the family.”
“Well I’m glad that you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, your mom always had two jobs.” He smiled before running his thumb over his lip. “That’s how I met her, was at her waitressing job, I saw her and immediately wanted her.”
Flower laughed. “I got something for you,” she slipped out of her backpack before unzipping the small front pouch and pulled out a picture. “So, you must be the guy in the picture then?” She passed it to him. “My mom gave me that picture when I was fifteen, during my quince when she caught me trying to sneak a bottle of vodka.”
He looked at the picture and smirked. “Yeah, that’s me. Look at me, I looked good back then.” He laughed. “Man, barely any ink. Still had the cigarette in my mouth though. Your mom hated it.”
“Coco!” Leti walked towards the pair and gave him a nod before looking at the brunette. “Who’s your friend? Kinda young for you don’t you think?”
Coco shook his head. “Leti, this is Flower, she’s your sister. Flower, this is your younger sister Leti.”
“We look nothing alike, that’s kind of disappointing.” She furrowed her brow before smiling. “Nice to meet you Leti.”
Leti eyed her carefully before shaking her head. “You’re saying that tan Malibu Barbie is my sister? Where?”
“She looks like her mom, you look like me and your mom.” Coco shrugged and smiled. “But look you got a whole sister to get to know.”
“Whose name is Flower,” Leti scoffed. “CoCo and Flower.”
“It’s actually Xochitl but I had a lisp when I was little and just started calling myself Flower, it stuck.” The older brunette tossed her hair over her shoulder and smiled. “Sorry can’t have something boring and simple like Leti.”
“Jesus,” Coco stepped between the pair. “We’re not doing back and forth mean girl shit. Leti apologize to Xochitl and Xochitl apologize to Leti.”
Flower looked down at Leti and shrugged. “Sorry I said your name is boring and simple.”
“Sorry you look like a tan Malibu Barbie,” Leti scrunched up get face. “Must suck.”
“Sorry you’re short and look like a fucking chihuahua,” She crossed her arms over her chest. “That mouth of yours must be the only thing that’s getting you through life.”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Leti looked at Coco before looking at the brunette. “Huh?”
“Take it how you wanna take it,” She grabbed her backpack. “Coco, I’ll see you later. Next time we can meet up at a restaurant.”
Coco nodded as he watched the young woman walk off before looking over at Leti. “You gotta be mean huh? That’s blood. That’s your sister. That’s family.”
Leti looked at Coco. “Did you see her? She looks like a walking Barbie, she’s not like us, she doesn’t know what we go through.”
“It doesn’t matter, okay? She got a mom that took her out of the struggle. She’s smart, she’s college bound, she’s well spoken for the most part but did you see the Cruz creep out when you started with her? She’s gonna dish it back to you.” Coco shook his head. “I’m not sure about you but I want her to be part of my life. I wanna know her. That’s my kid too. It’ll be good for you too, you need more friends. You need her, maybe you two will end up actually being close, give it a fucking chance Leticia.”

So I decided to do commentary this time. I usually have a lot to say when wacthing dramas but forget it all quickly.

Episode 6
“Girls like me are like the Emperor's New Clothes... Good guys cants see me.” Best quote of the whole drama so far. Clepto waitress, I love her. She was weird and I wasn't sure if she was playing old dude, Tae. But she was and kinda genius at it. Men help create the traps they get caught in.
Is Dongbaek really going to die in the end because it really sucks as this sad girl narrative goes. Being an orphan and or single mom does not doom you. The society in which she lived did. She was a fighter and would always win. The fact that she made it so far in life despite believing the bs others were telling her and the shit she was telling herself is worthy of praise.
Episode 7
Smart girl to keep a tab of bad behavior. I just wish she had a bit more confidence, petty, and bad bitch in her delivery.
This self deprecating behavior is getting old now. But this kind of behavior can't be unlearned in a night. It's so frustrating. This is why I can't be a therapist. Get a grip bitch. (kidding I know how healing works) all you can really do is pour in the positive and hope it flushes out the negative. That's why smiley is good for her but God he's annoying. He may be good and all but he had def benefited from her lack of boundaries.
The dead girl at the end is the Clepto waitress. She stole the bracelet from Dongbaek and thus why the dead body is wearing it. Go Gye-tae has something to do with the murders. He is too punk to do them himself. But he knows and is close to the murderer. The timing of the alarm at the aesticians office. Tae saved her I think it's the handy man.
Episode 8
Chief is looking really suspect.
Clepto waitress has crossed the line to disrespectful. Is she really risking hurting Dongbaek to get baseball dude? I think extortion always been her MO. Mom was referring to her when she said watch who you trust. I don't think she's the killer but bitch is not innocent.
Episode 9
I hate bitches. It's true that for some people who never grew the fuck up... Hate is their love language. Cliques need a common enemy to thrive and they are weak as fuck. It doesn’t help that Dongbaek never puts them in their place.
Me and Dongbaek are the same age and had our kid about the same time.
I don't think the killer is female. Unless that bitch is Ronda Rousey I would like to believe I can fight off a bitch with chicken wire.
Chief is looking suspect as hell. Why is he always throwing Smiley off the track or avoiding the case. He knows something.
I am by no means taking baseball guys side, however I do feel that both parents should be given the opportunity to be parents to their kid. It's unfair to not tell him about his child when he clearly wants to be a father. The scar can go both ways. You son can resent you for keeping this from his father. Pil clearly knows what's up.
Dongbaek is growing up. In a way, this is a death flag. But I still don't believe it's her.
Episode 10
There isn't a cloud in the sky. They are walking around without coats. And you expect me to believe that it's cold enough for snow.
I still feel like Joker isn't a female but her mom is looking hella suspect. What if the connection between all the victims is Dongbaek. Maybe they somehow did her wrong and crazy momma bear was protecting her. But I really can't see her climbing out of a window. Plus the fire alarm. Trust no one. A lot of people have said the "don't be a joke" line.
I called it. That ending was more of a death red flag. So the dead lady is Clepto waitress. She probably died because she obviously owes debts. Dude in hair salon was creepy. But that is separate from joker.
I know this goofy mug. I've seen it somewhere (Googling it) ah.. yes... Mr Smiley was in Midnight Runners, playing a cop there too if I remember correctly.
Episode 11
A bunch of elementary school kids fighting over baseball. Me yelling at my TV: GET EM!!!
Let me tell y'all. I would have been on that field lighting shit up, whipping everyone's ass. Little boy go get yo momma so she can get your ass beating. 😡
Chief is acting wonky. He knows something.
What's with the mom? She seems so protective... Now? What about her dad? What if Dongbaek's parents are some crazy con artists who are protecting their daughter by killing off people who conned her? They are basically trying to tell her to "get a grip bitch!" Or "don't be a joke." And did you see her grab the belt and wrap around her fist? She knows what the fuck she's doing. (I want her on my team in a fight) Why is Dongbaek not questioning her lucidity? 🤔

Episode 12
This shit just became an episode of 24
“Why try to live so hard?” Because if I live up to the narrative people create for me based on some societal BS explanation, they win. They can say, "see I told you all _______ are _______." Fuck your prejudices and stereotypes. The last thing I want to do is prove some asshole right.
So many people want her dead they are trying to confuse me. Who the fuck is the joker?? Handy man's dad? Is he even alive?
And this lack of boundaries is killing me. Dongbaek needs to put both those men in their place. Baseball needs to know he has no legal rights, period, if his name is not on the birth certificate. It would be the kids decision as to what his relationship with his dad is. She also needs to tell Smiley to get a fucking grip and that dealing with Baseball is part of being with her. These situations can coexist and it's frustrating to think otherwise. Mom dukes needs to chill. Her son has to make his own decisions and fuck-ups and she cannot fault Dongbaek for that. Life is hard, regardless. If it ain't this, it would be something else. Who lives an easy life?? Challenges build character. And I get it some things you can avoid. But they are grown in their 30s, who at this point does not come with baggage?

Episode 13
Is momma bear on drugs? Her behavior isn't totally out of the ordinary but maybe she goes away to trip and comes back.

They are teasing this story line so hard. IDK who the joker is. I'ma stick to the handy man but everyone in this story is guilty of something and really it's like matching the crime to the person or the person to the crime. Who killed Clepto? Was it her enemies or the joker? What momma bear is up to? Who's the joker? Is the joker and cleptos killer the same person? What's handy mans deal? Out of all of clepto's enemies, I believe the only ones capable of killing her are Mr. Pimp, Jessica because she's desperate, or Momma bear because she's protecting Dongbaek. In which case, her death is separate from the Joker's killings.
Episode 14
You think Smiley's mom may be jealous because no one took an interest in her with three kids?

There is a such thing as too much motherly love. This lady is fucking delusional. Her son has always been the type to run towards trouble. Does she really think his life would be easier without Dongbaek? Really?
Go-tae is cleared. He was guilty but his crime is gambling. Jessica hit clepto with her car but someone delivered the final blow. Was it Momma bear? Or joker? I think Chief is cleared too. He was just operating out of fear.
So hold up. Momma bear has been watching over Dongbaek her whole life. If Momma bear is lurking in the shadows of course she would run into someone else lurking in the shadows. Bitch.
Episode 16
Laugh cry?
Jesus Christ Dongbaek is stupid. A abandoned mall. Really? She's like a white chick in a horror movie. No don't go in there. Run bitch. 😔 Always take the fucking stairs. I can't. If she falls, I quit.
Episode 17

Pil's in for a rude awakening but it's a lesson that his mom can't protect him from. His dad may have nice things, but he ain't shit. He'll be back.

He did it for his mom. Funny.. he's assuming what she wants. Did she ever say that she couldn't marry Smiley because of him? Did Smiley say it? That Ma Dukes said it and it's unfortunate. He's too young to realize which opinions matter Society sucks for making a kid feel this way. Fuck that shit.
It just hit me. One of the underlying themes of this drama is parenthood, more so motherhood. Dongbaek lacked boundaries, even with her son. Smiley's mom is delusional about her son and life in general. She relied on him too much, babied him too much. I don't think any woman would not have been good enough in the long run. The guilt of his father dying, she blames herself, a burden she should have never had to bare, and never fully healed. She projecting that onto Dongbaek. Dongbaek's mom is seeking redemption. She did what she thought was best for her kid. Jessica's mom put up with an asshole for the sake of everyone else and probably to maintain her life. She's learning that she doesn't want that for Jessica. That her own insecuries have transferred to her. Taeks mom is selfish as fuck and babied her son, never holding him accountable.
Mother's think they know what's right for their kid, but a nice life from the outside doesn't guarantee a nice life from the inside. That nice lawyer could have treated your daughter like a slave. But it all looks nice to the neighbors. People have got to let "perceptions" go. Most of the time people with the "worst" past have the best character.
The issue with it all is.. most mother's define themselves by their kids or husbands. Korea does it very literally. Then, when it all goes away; your kid grows up, your husband may die or leave, what's left of you? Who are you? Women are incouraged to be everything for everyone else but nothing for themselves. When we do, we are made to feel guilty or less than for it. Dongbaek needs to be away from him for while. How this is happening sucks but both of them have lessons to learn.
If they don't live happily ever after I have wasted my 20 hours of my life.
This is utter bullshit. I hope they're fucking with me.
Episode 19
This would have played out differently if she had a daughter. This is literally why fuck boys are running amuck these days. Moms who use their sons (sometimes daughters) as substitutes for men and adult relationships. Boundaries.
To love your dad so much even though he is a killer is unhealthy. Sik needs psyhological help. It sends the wrong message that you need to or have to take you parents (family members) bs just because they are parents (or family.) In hindsight, a red flag.
I don't want Dongbaek to be a match. I don't want her to give her kidney. I don't like the idea of someone younger giving someone older an organ. Once you've passed 50 you have lived your life. The donor should be the same age or older and preferably on their death beds. Especially in Dongbaek's case. What if something goes wrong and Pil looses his mother and grandmother? You going to let that man-child raise him? I would never be okay with taking any organ from my kid.
Episode 20
So it was the handy man? I was right bitches. And his dad is covering for him. Wow let it be known that Episode 7 I called it! He was framing his dad and playing everybody. Why didn't he kill Ma tho?
Loving people and being kind-hearted is so fucking easy. Why do humans make it so hard?? I know these dramas are fiction but someone somewhere has lived a similar life. Where the fuck would I be if I didn't have an awesome mom and a loving family?

Are you going to any concerts this summer?
No. It’s been almost a year since my last concert, and of my favorite band to boot :( I can’t believe it’s been that long already; every detail is still ridiculously fresh in my mind.
Have you ever been to a concert?
I’ve been to several ones. I typically go for mainstream acts since it’s rare that they come over to the country, so I’ve seen Coldplay, One Direction, and Paramore, and a WWE show if that counts.
Would you have gone to Woodstock?
It would have been such a thrill to experience that; I don’t think I would have wanted to miss it, despite the traffic and the mud and sanitary problems that ultimately came up. Then again I’d probably only go if I was already near the area cause I wouldn’t be passionate enough to travel for it.
Have you ever camped out with a significant other?
Mmm no. We’re both pretty unfit to try camping hahaha. We’d have no clue where to start. I’d love to have the opportunity though.
What kind of music do your parents listen to?
Generally, my mom is super attached to her elementary and high school tunes; she knows every hit song from the 80s. Right now she’s in a Queen and ABBA phase though. My dad is so much hipper than I am and the playlists he makes has all the newest Top 40 singles lmfao, half of them I usually don’t even know about. I do know he has a bias for Maroon 5.

Well, I mean I’m no longer a teen but when I used to be one I didn’t feel like I was getting older. I wanted to enjoy my teenage years, so I did my best to.
What do you do when you can't escape thoughts of your ex?
When I was stuck in this position, I couldn’t. I went out to as many hangouts with my friends as my mom could possibly allow me to try and forget, and while those helped distract me for a bit, it never fully worked. Then my grandfather died soon after so I had something else to cry about. And then the most important college entrance exam I was ever gonna take took place, so I was properly distracted for a bit. But that was all there is to it – distractions.
What do you think about indoor pets?
So long as they’re properly trained and don’t chew and/or pee on everything, it’s fine.

Quick Review of Winx Season 8
I manage to translate the episodes from Italian to English using Youtube Auto Subs and a translator. Not the perfect way to translate but at least I got what was going on and even when I couldn’t understand what they were saying exactly, I could make out what was going on, regardless.
First off, I will admit while I still don’t care for the art style, it kinda does grow on you after a little bit. Least it did me, though the boys still look horrendous especially when you hear a deep voice and it’s coming from a character that looks 12! >.<
Second, the animation is at least smoother and crisp in movements like the old Winx animations and instead of just shooting projectiles at targets, we do get some promise that the Winx will have various attacks.
Characters seem to be in tact, though it’s hard to tell as of right now. We’ll just have to see. They have their quirks, only time will tell if they are fully fleshed out like the old series but surprisingly there’s a lot of hope for this series from fans. The Trix are going to make their return and they look like their old selves. (Seriously why can’t everyone else look close to their old selves? Everyone else has the same freakin eyes, least on the girls!)
We get sirenix back and I will have to admit, new sirenix looks pretty good. I mean I never hated sirenix at all but yeah I like the new look better. Least it looks like a mermaid and the style is unique to each Winx. They may have the same wings but at least the outfit looks better though some more tinting and shading would have been nice. As is, it’s nice.
The writing is okay. It’s not perfect but I didn’t find myself cringing at it. It’s not totally stupid but then again, I only watched the Italian version and translated it, but shoot, the actions and how the characters talk, seem like it’s at least passable. My only complaint is of course, Bloom and her drama with Sky. Seriously, why was she mad at him when they brought Riven out. Musa and maybe Aisha because they’re best friends,should have been mad but why did Bloom take it out at Sky? He didn’t do crap! I know that’s typical of Bloom and I for one, actually blame the writers, not the character herself. Bloom is a decent character and can be very intelligent and reasonable. I mean, she was willing to risk her life for Diaspro, someone she didn’t like at all, trying to steal Sky and she put her pettiness aside because Diaspro is still a person. (Though, after she tried to kill Bloom and had endanger an entire dimension at one point, I seriously doubt that’s what Diaspro is now...and wouldn’t blame Bloom if she threw a fire dragon at her.) I blame Rainbow for this. They never can do proper couple drama!
Rainbow stop trying to make couple drama! It’s frustrating and you don’t do it right! I get couples fight sometimes but they write the stupidest, petty reasons for the couples to fight and IT NEVER WORKS! It just makes our beloved characters jerks! I know a couple that doesn’t have a fight now and then is a bit unrealistic but if you can’t write the drama properly, just don’t! I learned that myself. I tried to make some drama between my ocs in terms of couple drama and it was really stupid and petty and I’m just like “You know what? If I can’t write it well, just make them a happy couple. There’s nothing wrong with that!”
Bloom is a decent character and she can be a good leader. Just have her love Sky and Sky love her back and just have them be a happy couple. It maybe unrealistic but you know what? It’s a freakin series about fairies! Fairies! Going into outer space even! We don’t mind a bit of the unreal! It’s better then seeing them fight and be petty at each other for stupid stuff!
So yeah, so far from what I seen, it’s fairly decent and I would say the writing is okay. It’s not spectacular but it’s passable and harmless. I definitely see it as an improvement to the last series. The art style is still growing on me. I still wish the girls at least had different eye shapes and the boys look like actual men. Granted I never liked the muscular men look, but you could thin them out slightly without making them look twelve! I mean look at VivziePop. Most of her male characters are thin and they aren’t even human most of the time and still, you could tell the characters are adults!
I won’t give it a rating just yet. I want to watch the English episodes at least. From what I’ve seen so far, I actually do have a tiny bit of hope for the main series. Just freakin cool it with the couple drama! Though, I’m not holding my breath on that....

Rethinking of Star Wars: The Character of Darth Vader
In addition to being the most Iconic character in the whole series, Vader is kind of the emotional core of the movie, despite his being the villain and the antagonist. When I talk about the original Star Wars being really weird, this is what I mean, who is the emotional core of these films? You might say its Luke, but the movie is kinda weirdly distant from Luke, we don’t really delve that deeply into his head, the film seems a lot more excited to talk about Han Solo and Leia. So are they the emotional core? Well no, because in the third movie they just kinda stop doing stuff after awhile. Is it the droids? We are with them throughout the earliest bits of the movie, and their perspective seems to dominate about 50% of a New Hope, but not so much the other movies. These movies don’t really have an emotional core the way that the first Matrix movie does, or Pirates of the Caribbean do, its more of a spectacle. Because while these stories are a heroes journey, they are a really distant one (more on that later.
(There are emotional moments but not emotional themes)
The exception to this is Vader, who is a constant presence in all three movies, and in fact it is his decision which decides the final conflict. Rewatch his scenes in the triology, and emotionally the camera is with Vader (except being his first confrontation with Luke), when he chokes the guy mocking his religion, that guy is presented as annoying and you get the anger in the scene. When he is frustrated and obsessive in the second movie, the movie seems to display it, like the scene where the falcon gets away or when he is in his little life pod. The emotional high point of the third movie is Vader’s core. Now I’m not saying this is particularly well done, or even deliberately experimental, only that it’s kinda weird considering how this movie is basically the king of main stream.

Vader is also the greatest failings of the prequal series, because Anakin from the original doesn’t resemble Vader at all. And I don’t mean “oh Anakin is whiney he isn’t dignified” I mean the emotional logic of Vader’s actions doesn’t synth with the prequals.
(this is more movement that Vader uses than like the entire original trilogy)
See it’s a fallacy to assume that the only way you can devolve a character is by showing their back story (YOU HEAR THAT MARVEL). In that blessed glorious time in the golden days before the prequals existed (aka my elementary school), you could look at Vader and try to imagine what made him into this monster. Because Vader is remarkably well characterized, most of that credit going to his actors, and it is mostly done just through little things, namely his movements. Vader is heavy, he is slow, he is ponderous, all of his movements just feel like this evil glacier in human form is stalking around a space ship*. And this slowness isn’t combined with carefulness or even elegance, Vader feels heavy and brutish, walking straight into reality and just expecting it to get out of his fucking way. All of this movement direction are tied to two core emotions. Anger, and exhaustion.

So I already talked about Vader’s relationship to anger earlier, but summing myself up. There are many different approaches to anger, and Vader’s is not explosive like in the prequels, Vad’ers anger is like a dull constantly burning ember, he is just kinda quitely pissed off all the time, basically moving via his constant hate. But that doesn’t make him a passionately anger fellow, its burnout, he just occasionally snaps when his overwhelming frustration with everyone around him just kinda makes him at somebody not following the rules. Its not explosive rage, nor a cold rage, it’s a constant low boiling frustration that has so consumed Vader that he only keeps going out of spite. I could never picture Vader explosively slaughtering a whole village of people or even dramatically screaming at his mentor, I can see him just making a frustrated scoff and killing everybody in the area out of contempt because they wasted his time.

The other emotion that defines Vader is exhaustion, especially in the first movie, because is so fucking zoned out in that first movie. Literally every single interaction he has in that movie except for his duel with Obi One is curt, brusque and dismissive, Leia is like “I defy you” and Vader is like “Yeah what ever, I don’t care move on”. He stands in Tarkin’s meeting room like an extra prop, he feels so superfluous and barely interacts or move until somebody insults his religion, and even then he is like “oh well I guess I’ll hurt you”. He is zonked out, and if you think about it, it makes sense. Vader’s reason for joining the Empire and embracing the Dark Side aren’t clear in the original, but presumably he came out of some sense of believing in something, even if that thing wasn’t good. Well after decades of atrocities and murdering most of his former friends, Vader has won, the empire is in control and he reigns supreme…and he still isn’t happy. He is this massive badass and is just...doing his job because its what he does.
Based on how eager he is to turn Luke, my personal headcanon was that Vader wanted to remake the Jedi order in his new fascist empire, but the process of making the empire basically wiped it out, and now he is alone in an empire where his own subordinates say his religion is sad and outdated to his fucking face. Whatever goal Vader went into this for, it clearly hasn’t worked out for him, he is basically on rage field auto pilot.

Compare that to how he behaves in the second movie, Vader has so much fucking energy, he is focused on the task at hand, he is talking to people, it really does feel that for the first time in a decade he has found something worthy living for. Which brings up something else, Vader always felt old to me, in fact he is referred to as old a few times, but he also just felt like an old exhausted man. According to the prequals he is basically in his early 40s, which just feels wrong, Vader doesn’t feel like he is having a midlife crisis, he feels like somebody age is catching up to them and they are just sort of realizing how out of place they are. I always pictured Vader in his early to mid-50s, I mean Obi One was 63 when he played Obi One, though you could believe him being a little older, I thought Vader was like ten years younger, and they had more of a peer relationship, that is what it feels like in their duel, two old men who are the last relic of a conflict which ended over a decade ago. Vader’s fall to evil never felt to me like a dramatic sudden break, rather it felt like a slow steady loss of humanity over the course of decades, like John McCain.

And like a man who earnestly held principles to be valuable while betraying all of them simultaneously, Vader never espouses a morality or a philosopher, but he feels like somebody who’s sense of self is founded upon some sense of duty and purpose, even though both have long ago been lost. He earnestly is deeply religious concerning the force, and in the third movie seems largely ok with the Emperor letting him be killed by Luke in order to cause his son to fall to the dark side (First time I wrote that I wrote Dark Souls and suddenly Star Wars became a lot cooler). He feels like somebody who does everything he does due to duty, even though its meaning is long past, so the Dark Souls reference I accidentally made wasn’t actually all that off point.

Actually seriously now, do you know which character Vader reminds me of more than anybody else. Leo McGarry from The West Wing, I mean imagine if Leo McGarry’s master wasn’t Barlet but somebody vile and destructive who encouraged his own anger and frustration, and imagine if he didn’t have a family or friends who could help him alienate his own pain, and he just comes this manifestation of a system that he enacts without understanding it.
It’s also interesting to me because Vader is such a Kinetic person, I mean the is basically second in command of the Empire and the main enforcer, why is he flying a Tie fighter around personally? Can’t he delegate this shit, doesn’t he have like administration or something to deal with? For somebody who is trapped in a robot suit which doesn’t move very much, he is clearly somebody who likes to move around, when I was really little I never really got that he was a cyborg just in how human his movements seemed to be. I think Darth Vader isn’t somebody who thinks very critically or questions his decisions once his made them, so when all of his life chocies have made him miserable and hollow, he just kinda distracts himself by going to people’s houses and kicking their doors down, cause you know, its active.

All this combined actually comes together quite nicely at the ending or rather, it is one of the only two character arcs that are complete in Star Wars, Vader changes in each movie. This is not fantastic story telling by any means, but Vader is the most iconic character for a reason, and his emotional arc is kinda more important than Luke for reasons I will get into later (seriously Luke’s story line is really weird). In the first movie, he is totally burned out, just kinda doing the Empire’s will out of inertia, and is so exhausted he basically on auto-pilot. The only three scenes where he seems like he is paying attention is when somebody insults his religion, Obi One shows up, and Luke gives him a hard time in the Death Star Trench. Rest of the time he just phoning it in.

In the second movie, Vader seems alive, active, mobile, like he actually has something to care about, and it is also freakily obsessive. I know there is this meme of Vader murdering people at the drop of a hat, but I think that is less Vader and more this particular point in Vader’s life, he doesn’t kill anybody in the first movie, in fact a guy basically feels so confident that he again..insults Vader’s religion to his face. Sure he gets chocked afterwards, but can you imagine anybody doing that in the second movie? Sometime between New Hope and Empire, Vader seems to have figured out who Luke is and now he has purpose, a goal, turn Luke and remade the Jedi order, since Palpetine seems to not to give a shit, so Vader is heading to that, regardless of how many ships he throws away officers he murders. And at the climax of Empire he just…kinda retreats back into his depression, and mopes away. .

And while Jedi doesn’t focus that much on its main story (more on that later), Vader here seems to be totally conflicted even before Luke shows up. He is surely and unfocused, and basically is letting the Emperor take the wheels, except of course the Emperor doesn’t give a shit. But it isn’t burnout, it’s the realization tht Vader might have to actually you know…consider an alternative possibility. Before the Prequals corrupt our imagination of the past, the impression I had of Vader was a man who set a goal for himself and basically followed it for decades, even though in the process he kinda destroyed the thing he was trying to protect. He is basically a hyper lawful person who isn’t creative enough to consider alternative possibilities, and only now with his family involved, does Vader actually thinking larger thoughts rather than immediate goals. Going back to my thesis that the Force=Emotional Health, then Vader is finally realizing that his way of coping with the world and his emotions isn’t working at all, and he needs to actually choose what he wants.

And even so, it takes him so fucking long to make up his mind at the end, because Vader is a really clannish type of person, he values his “Group” over everybody else, and picking between his master and his son is a hard choice. And then he dies, movie over. Honestly, Jedi kinda fails, but it has a pretty good arc for Vader, it’s the story about a fascist who questions “why did I become this?” You know that scene from pan’s Labyrinth where Captain Vidal slices his own reflections throat? That is basically Vader character arc in a single scene
