these two pages alone made me sob

Shiki's whole character arc is, like, he was raised by this woman who tried to murder people. she was cruel and inflicted irreparable damage. and she was also cruelly treated herself, and when she realized what she'd done she tried to make amends. and she knew some people could never forgive her and that her very presence would cause more harm, so she limited her exposure to other people in the family so that none of them would have to deal with her

but she had a kid and she didnt want her kid raised in the same isolation she was (and had inflicted), so she makes sure he gets to know and love his family when he's young. drops him off at big family events that she herself will not attend. and this works, he has a great relationship with the other kids, but as he gets older it starts to feel like a betrayal of his mom, who loved him so much, to leave her behind to be with the rest of the family

and it's a direct foil to the relationship the actual main character of FB:A (a girl who isn't even part of the sohma family!) has with her mother, who's emotionally and verbally abusive and neglectful. like the actual message of this sequel miniseries is about how family can be a curse even without the fantasy zodiac elements. but I think it's really cool that to highlight that message the author contrasts it with the newly free sohma family's complicated mess of healing from that generational trauma

#i just. i know a lot of people hate her and with good reason but i love akito so much #that scene in the bottom left of the second image? that's tohru. teaching akito how to be a mom #bc tohru GOT that role model to emulate but akito never had. she found out she was having a kid and PANICKED #so she goes over and has mommy play dates with tohru. and every single time kyo leaves the house because he cannot be there #its just its so visceral the amount of pain in the healing ugh #its like how yuki and kyo NEVER become the friends they should have been but they make sure their kids get along #anyway having fruits basket feels tonight lmao #furuba #fruits basket another

'Us Time' -Dad!Todoroki Shoto x Mom!Reader

A/n: once again I have no freaking clue what to do for the title. I meant to make y/n and Shoto stressed out and stiuff but it's just fluff :)

A/n 2: this is a bit old but decided to finally post it.

General info:

Genre: fluff/ slice of life // wc: 854

Summary: Shoto is tired of barely having any time with you, so he proposes an idea to get you for himself for an entire week.

"Mama! Mama!"

A voice called, causing you to groan.

"Mama~ it's light outside! Up time!"

Rubbing your eyes, you squint to see your four and a half year old jumping at the side of your bed, h/c locks bouncing up and down.

"C'mhere baby, it's still time to sleep some more." You yawn, reaching your arms out to your youngest.

"No! Sister and brother are up!"

"Oh- are they really?"

"Mhm! Sister says come get you!"

Sighing, you squeeze Shoto's arm that was wrapped around you, trying to let him let go.

"C'mon Sho, the kids need me." You whisper, turning around to play with his mismatched hair.

Whining at the thought of letting you go, Shoto hugged you tightly before slipping his arms down to his side.

"Aki, why don't you go snuggle dada while I go get your siblings ready?" You ask, kissing Shoto's forehead before sliding out of bed, picking Aki up.

Giggling, Aki gave you a kiss on the cheek before hurrying to crawl next to her dad, making him smile warmly.

"I love you both!" You call, already heading towards your twins' rooms.

"Yuki, honey? Are you up?"

Sofltly knocking on the door, you open it to see her room empty.

Assuming that both of them were awake, you wandered to the living room, where they were fighting.

"No! We can not wake up mom! She stayed up late last night!" Daiki whisper-shouted, grey eyes glaring at his twin sister, Yuki.

"But I'm hungry, and we have school today! She can nap when we go to school!" Yuki bit back, face as neutral as her dad's despite her harsh words.

"N-"

"Shhh it's okay, Daiki." You comfort, wrapping your eldest in a hug, petting his head to help soothe him. "You're sweet, but Yuki's right. I need to be awake to take care of you two."

"Bu-"

"No buts! I love taking care of you. If you didn't wake me up I'd be sad that you had to do it all on your own."

"Yuki, thank you for having Aki wake me up."

Yuki simply shrugged, back to her I-don't-care demeanor inherited from her dad. Just like Shoto, you knew that she did care, but she just hid the majority of her emotions. Luckily you had enough experience with Shoto that you knew how and when she needed you, and you were always ready to support her.

"Okay, who's ready for breakfast?" You smile, causing Daiki to smile back at you and Yuki's e/c eyes to shine a bit brighter.

"Love, do you know where my boots are?" Shoto called, causing you to roll your eyes fondly.

"Yeah, they're in our closet! If they're not there check in Aki's!"

"Thanks babe." Shoto smiled, walking over to you to press a kiss to your temple, hand resting on your hip.

"Mhm" you purr, leaning into your husband's touch.

"What do you think about a vacation?" Shoto mused, leaning down to pull on his hero boots.

"That won't really work with the twins schedule for anther few months-"

"I meant for the two of us."

Your breath caught in your throat as Shoto wrapped you in an embrace from behind, pressing a few kisses against your shoulder blades and neck.

"What abou-"

"Fuyumi or mom can take care of the kids. We haven't had us time in months, I miss you."

"I- I don't know Shoto.. that seems like a lot to ask. Plus what about work?"

"Those are just minor details, Love. Do you want to take a week off with me or not?"

"Of course I do but-"

"Then it's settled, I'll get everything prepared for let's say- next month?"

"Okay but-"

"Love, don't worry about it, and just let me handle it." Shoto purred, spinning you around to face him as he kissed your lips sweetly.

"Okay." You sigh, smiling into the kiss.

"I can't wait to have some us time." Shoto sighed, leaning his forehead on yours. "You've been so busy being an awesome mom and I've been working."

"Mhm, it'll be nice." You sigh, wrapping your arms around Shoto's waist.

"Speaking of-"

"Can you flirt elsewhere? We kinda wanna eat without your lovey dovey stuff going on." Daiki grumbled, hugging Aki close to him to shield her eyes.

"We're just hugging." Shoto chuckles, moving towards his kids with a fondness only you and your little family got to see.

"But-"

"Daiki, you mama needed a hug from her husband. Are you really going to be upset about that?"

Daiki immediately shook his head no, guilt clawing at him for interrupting your comfort.

"I'm sorry mama! Here, my hugs are better than dad's anyways!" Daiki apologized, sticking his tongue out at Shoto before wrapping you in a hug.

"Me too! I wanna hug!" Aki exclaimed, jumping onto Shoto's leg.

Lifting Aki up into his arms, Shoto guided Yuki towards you before enveloping the four of you in a hug, causing you to giggle.

After a minute or so Yuki squirmed away, closely followed by Daiki.

"Mom, you burnt the eggs." Yuki sighed.

"Oh shoot-"

I feel like Fruits Basket had a missed opportunity to write a great arc for Yuki instead of him ending up with Machi. And I LOVE Machi and their romance is really cute but I didn't feel satisfied with that ending for Yuki.

When I first watched Fruits Basket I was sure that Yuki was supposed to be queer-coded and his arc about self acceptance and love was him coming out of the closet.

The reason for that is because of the way Yuki is constantly presented and the way he reacts to other people.

Yuki always gets mad at Kyo for calling him "girly boy" or "pretty boy".

He tries to put up at tough persona to try to appear more masculine.

He has a fanclub with both girls AND boys crushing on him.

Whenever he "flirts" with Tohru it would come off as awkward (I know it's because he considers her as his mom figure but still!!! And yet he has some unspoken rizz when it comes to flirting with guys tho)

Even his dislike of Ayame and not wanting to be like him was kinda him not wanting to come out of the closet (Ayame also gets a last minute love interest to make him more hetero. I thought he was definitely not straight)

It just made sense to me this was going to be his arc. Especially since Fruits Basket is sooo good at depicting emotions. I thought Yuki's arc was him overcoming his hatred of that part of himself and essentially coming out of the darkness that Akito had made him live in.

When the Student council members were introduced I thought Kakeru was going to be both a foil AND a love interest for Yuki. They just had that dynamic and chemistry that made it seem like Kakeru would change Yuki and help him understand his true self and feelings. I thought Machi was the quiet/ weird side character that would have a similar role as Kimi (comedic).

Then the whole Machi x Yuki happened and I was proven wrong. I didn't hate it but....Kakeru and Yuki just had so much growth in their friendship, I couldn't help but ship them.

I would have been happy with even a Bi-Panic moment for Yuki with Kakeru and Machi (who are both half-siblings)

Yuki just had the perfect personality and backstory for a good coming out arc but it never came to be.

(Ps: I am NOT hating Machi and Yuki's relationship. It's just that Fruits Basket had many opportunities to have gay characters but didn't commit to it)

Chevalier Romantic route rantings

Warning: This post contains spoilers about Chevalier Michel's route. More specifically his Romantic ending.

Sooooo, it is extremly rare for me to criticise Cheva's content. After all, as his absolute stan, i love everything this man does.

BUT i admit that I am not a fan of his romantic ending.

The reason is simple. But first of all a little summary of the events, for does who do not remember or for does who have not played the route but dont mind spoilers.

MC is with everyone at the battlefield. The campement where she is, is attacked and this is when the two ending branches.

In this I will only discuss the romantic one.

So, in the romantic ending, MC gets stabbed by a poisoned knife by the anti war faction and obsidian. They use her as a hostage and says 'if you want the antidote you gotta hand her off'. But Genius Cheva figures out the poison and have the antidote made badabim badaboum.

(Honestly I would have prefered it here if Clavis was the one who found the antidote, and Cheva being impressed by his brother's abilities, after all Clavis was the one who has been studying poisons. But this is not what this post is about so let's no dwell on that)

So MC is cured, Cheva goes to beat the anti war faction with his FIST, because MC says no Stabby stabby. And he somehow makes Obsidian sign a peace treaty and VOILA, war is over.

(Yes, the political plot of this game is extremely stupid, DO NOT start me on that, or this post will never end)

Soooo, MC and Cheva goes back to the castle, where MC is healing. Chevalier stays by her side most of the time as they spend quality time together. And before they know it, there only very few days left before MC has to choose a king, leave the castle and never see cheva again.

So MC asks Chevalier for one last favor, she wants him to dance with her. He accepts and they head to the ballroom where they have a very impactfull moment where MC tells him she is gonna choose HIM as a king and she tells him her reasons which leaves him speechless and i would say touched.

After that there dance ends, and MC start acting like Booboo the clown as she starts rambling, she tells cheva they should have a meal together sometimes before she leaves and turn away from him to hide her tears.

As of now, everything is fine. I have no objections to this developpement. But this is where it ticks me off.

Cheva hug MC from behind and literally ask her TO SLEEP WITH HIM!

Yes yes, he says dinner but he says he is famished and his hand touch mc's body subjectivly.

MC might be as dense as the mariana trench but she's not stupid and she agrees to the hanky panky.

And BIM BADABOUM they smash, in the trill of the action, mc asks him if he will remember her and he says NO which is obviously a lie. And that's literally it. They separate for a year and you guys know the rest.

Now you might ask, what do you not like about this, Yuki?

And i would say many things:

First, HOW DARE HE ASKS HER FOR HER FIRST TIME JUST LIKE THAT, MY CHEVA WOULD NEVER WTF. Remember everyone, this is not 21st century, it's literally around 1500 and around then a woman virginity was EVERYTHING to her. I was like well maybe the ikepri author created the ikepri universe differently and its not a big deal but silvio's romantic ending proved otherwise. I'm not gonna go into the details, i'll just say a woman first time is IMPORTANT. And Cheva most likely knew that. He would never ask her for it in such a way. Specially knowing he could not be her lover. It was one night only between them.

Also it is very irrational and the way cheva asked for it seemed calculated which i hate. I mean, there are no contraception during that era. Surely both knew what could happen after that night.

Then there is how that first time was written. It was only a few sentences and during the whole act MC was crying and all while Cheva was all smug saying 'You like that, don't you?'. I would have liked it if he showed some vulnerability in that moment. And don't tell me 'This is cheva we are talking about, he is not capable of doing that', he actually did in the dramatic ending.

This was supposed to be such an angsty dramatic scene, if only they gave it more attention it would have gave his route more dept and made the ending all the more satisfying.

THIS is how I think things should have happened:

-After the dance, MC still acts the same and says they should have a meal together.

-Chevalier agrees and says then let's have dinner together.

-MC accepts and they have dinner in his room. MC is nervous since this is her first time alone with him in her room since he knows of her feelings and it makes her hyperaware of him. Specially that whenever she look up at him she sees he is already staring at her. Like he wants to commit her to his memory.

-Cheva sees that and starts talking about a new book to calm her down.It works and soon enough they are sitting together on his bed and reading the book together in silence.

-Chevalier's reading speed is higher than hers and whenever he is done he just stares at her as he waits for her to finish the page.

-MC finish a page and look up toward Chevalier to see if he's done with it, but when she does he is already looking at her and there eyes meet.

-They stare at each others soul for a very long time in silence before they kiss, none of them knowing who made the first move.

-The kiss soon turn into a full makeout session on Chevalier's bed and the book fall to the floor in a tud.

-This bring Chevalier to his senses, it is not like him to act so irrationnaly.

-He pulls away from MC, but she pulls him back and that was all he needed for his logical facade to snap.

-They make love and as MC cry her heart out she sees that Cheva's usual ice cold expression is nowhere to be seen.

-His walls are completely gone and at that moment she has the REAL Chevalier in front of her.

She says she loves him but he does not answer her back. He knows that if he says it, it's gonna make even more difficult for her, so he just hugs her to him instead.

And that's how it ends.

forgot to screenshot this one to, but an anon suggested: Hu patching up Ace after he falls off of a horse. I feel like even if Hu and Ace don't get along, she'd try to come to his games to support him once in a while as the mom of the group! (even if Ace is her least favorite child.) In like 90 degree heat she'd pull up, with enough sunscreen and waterbottles to keep everyone in a 70 mile radius hydrated and safe from skin cancer. And she wouldn't hesitate to help Ace if he gets hurt, ofc!

Spooky experiences... No, not really. The one or two I can remember isn't something I want to bring here.

So, allow me to talk about my wall licker.

Her name is "Yuki" and she's roughly about 8 years old? I'll have to check but I can swear she's eight.

She was given to us as a kitten by my mom's friend, whose cat had a huge litter and she didn't know what to do with so many kittens. She's been an outdoor cat for the first few years of her life but adapted well to having to live indoors in her later years.

Aside from having to sterilize her sooner due to some health risks, she's been pretty healthy her whole life, honestly.

Aside from her odd penchant for licking walls (there was a spot that had humidity in it, but it's been fixed, she still keeps doing it for some reason), she also attempts to eat cardboard boxes and loves being carried in bowls around the house to experience the world from her hairless slaves' perspective.

Other enriching activies she has picked up involve clawing the bathroom door until I allow her to stand by inside while I pee, having zoomies inside the bathtub, watching me crochet (bidding her time to bite the yarn, of course) and trying to rub her face on glasses/pens.

She's really talkative and has learned to respond to the same creature noises I have made since youth, like those "inhale whistles" (idk what you call those) and tongue clicks.

This is not the best picture I've taken of my wall licker, but the lighting really accentuates her smooth brain look here.

She used to be a pretty good hunter back then, going as far as to bring us several lizards, crickets, at least two bats, several small birds, and one fatass bird I honestly have no idea how she caught it- Kinda scary.

I do recall coming home to a literal severed bird head on my bed once. Very sweet of her to try to feed me, I guess.

If something happens to this cat I am pretty sure I will start stabbing recreationally.

Shoto's soft breaths pan over your skin. His chill fingers rest on your stomach, his face tucked in your neck. You don't know how long you'd been laying there after you woke, but you didn't dare move, wanting to soak up all the time of cuddling you had left.

At some point, you finally decide to turn around. Slow, turning in Shoto's hold and pressing more against his chest. You loved times like these. You could run your hands through his hair, down his chest, and just feel close to him.

Even after all the years, you've been together, lying with him never gets old. You adapted to stripping away all your clothes when you guys slept. It's perfect for both of you. Sensual, intimate, the skin-to-skin makes you both feel happy, connected.

"You know they'll be awake any second now, right?" Shoto's voice pulls you from your tranquil thoughts. You blink and look up at him. His tired eyes barely cracked open as he looked at you, a small smile trying to pull at his lips.

"Yeah, well, we can probably stretch for a few more minutes," you say.

You both knew the twins would be up soon, wanting breakfast as they always did, but if you could, you'd stay in bed with Shoto as long as possible.

Shoto tightens his arm around you, pressing your naked body closing, feeling content and at peace. You close your eyes again and shift up a bit so you can bury your face in his neck, feeling yourself slip back asleep.

Sure enough, though, within seconds, you hear the patter of two sets of little feet racing down the hallway and bursting into your room.

"Mommy! Daddy! Wake up!"

"Yuri, Yuki, what have we told you about coming into our room when the door's closed. You have to knock," Shoto gently scolds, discretely lifting the blankets a little higher over your body for security. With you and Shoto's cuddling habits, plus how close and comfortable you are, ever since the twins could walk and get around on their own, you guys told them if your door was closed, knock. You never knew what you two could be doing or what the situation was, and you didn't want them to see something they shouldn't.

"But grandma told us to wake you!" Yuki chirps happily, standing next to your bed.

Your eyes snap open, and you pull away slightly to sit up and turn around. "Wait, grandma-"

"Good morning!" your mother coo as she enters the room, tray table in hand.

Your eyes widen, your hand flying to secure the blanket over your chest as you completely sit up. "Mom! You- I-I forgot you were coming today. How'd you get in?" your surprise quickly switches to confusion.

"My lovely grandkids, of course," she says, happy, as she sets the tray on the edge of your bed. "I made breakfast."

"Mommy, are you naked?" Yuri asks, a confused look on his face as he stands directly next to you, able to see your bare back.

"Oh, I- I-"

"FREEZY!" Yuki shouts as she appears at the other side of your bed, activating her quirk, little icicles forming in her hands, and presses them to Shoto's back. Shoto hisses and jumps, his body pressing against yours as he scoots away from the little girl.

It's something she picked up on doing ever since she found her quirk. She'd surprise Todoroki and press her cold hands to his body randomly. Usually, his legs, maybe even his butt since that's all she could reach, but since he was laid down on his side, she could get to his bare skin, immediately taking advantage of the opportunity.

"Where did she even learn to do that?" Shoto groans and turns over, burying his face into his pillow as he tries to warm his back.

"Mom, can you please take them and wait outside while we get ready?" you plead, wanting a few moments for you and Shoto to collect yourselves. "And Yuki, Yuri, I told you both not to open the door for anyone. Do not do that again, even if you think you know who it is," you give the five-year-old boy next to you a stern look.

Your mother nods and starts to turn back to the door. "Come on, kid. Why don't we let your parents start eating and get dressed, and I'll take you to the park."

Yuki has always been the twin you have to watch out for the most since she's so outgoing and energetic. So once again, you don't notice as she pulls the chair that's next to the bed from Shoto's desk, settling it next to the bed and climbing on it, then jumping on you two, effectively startling you both.

As a reflex, you put your hands out to catch and stable her in your lap, but that also makes the blanket fall from your chest, plus ruffling the covers and moving them off Shoto as well. “But I wanna stay here,” she says when she lands.

Yuri gasps, "Mommy is naked!" his little face scrunching up as he points.

"Daddy is too!!" Yuki shouts as she looks at Shoto.

"Ewwwwww." They both say in unison.

Shoto is quick to try to cover himself up as you do the same, trying to shimmy the blanket back between you and the little girl on your lap. “Alright, alright, come on, let’s give them some privacy and you can join them for lunch later,” your mom tries again. This time it works, the kids sigh and begin to exit your room. “Next time maybe they’ll be ready for the surprise company,” your mom says, giving you a teasing look.

“Mom!”

“What? Not my fault you two do it like rabbits,” she teases.

“Do wha-“ Yuri starts.

“We weren’t-“ you say at the same time.

“Byeeeee!” your mom interrupts as she closes the door.

You and Shoto sigh, relaxing back into the bed and taking a moment. “Those kids,” you sigh.

“That mother,” Shoto snickers.

“Our family,” you look over at him, both of you erupting in laughter.

ok so i had a crazy idea so how would you think yuki would be as a dad. Or some headcannons yk?

Oooooh okay okay.

So I have been thinking about dad Yuki. A lot. And I love him. I want to write an actual fic/smau for it but I can’t decide what I want to do.

So throughout the pregnancy he would not shut up about it to his friends. He’d be super happy and excited and what have you. He is a private person, so as far as media goes, no one would really know until she’s showing. I mean, they wouldn’t have known she even existed until there was a ring on his finger and a new girl showing up to the garages every weekend with a ring matching his. He’d make passing comments about it, but for the most part all of his excitement is directed to mom and close friends.

So in general, we have seen Yuki kind of mature throughout this season. He’s learning a lot. I think he’d be no different with his kid, really.

He’d be the dude that talks about how much he’s learned from his own kid, from his parents, etc. He’d want to be as much like his parents as possible, yknow with his own type of thing, but still. His parents are important, so why wouldn’t he want to take as much as he can from his own parents?

Personally, I think he’d be a fun parent. His kid would be a clone of himself. Looks like him, acts like him, the whole thing. Put the kid in some sort of cart the moment it can tbh. As the kid gets older, Yuki takes them carting. He doesn’t go easy on them though, so when they finally beat him in karting it’s wild. Yuki would absolutely hope that the kid goes into racing, and would be so ridiculously proud to see them kind of follow in his footsteps. No matter what series they go into.

He’d take the kid out to do stuff so that mom could get a break. His parents would love to take care of their grand baby so that Yuki and mom could spend time together. They probably wouldn’t be the types to drop everything to take baby every weekend, but they would definitely take the baby if it were planned ahead.

He’d probably be more eager to do the fun stuff with his kid than he would the actual parenting at first. But like I said, he’d be learning from his own parents, mom’s parents, mom, so he’d get over that pretty quick and really get into parenting baby.

He’d be the one to have the entire grid as uncles, basically. Not everyone will get that privilege, Yuki is really one of the few I see everyone wanting to be there for. They’d all love the baby so much. And while mom wouldn’t trust everyone with her baby, the ones that she does trust will take baby Tsunoda and show them around their own garages.

Media personnel however, would be more than happy to make sure baby Tsunoda isn’t in any of their pictures or videos. Maybe they would be in the background, but they’ve always avoided mom, so they’ll avoid baby the same way.

I smelled it before I saw it. I felt it before I heard it; the presence, the humming. I had never entertained the idea of time travel. No one could actually predict a forced turn in the highway of time, even if Back to the Future made it look so comical. Despite that, I found myself basking in that presence, in that humming, and let it drive me off to when I was a child: innocent and safe.

“Mom?”, hoarse. Silence. A knot of guilt tightened itself up inside my chest. ‘Don’t go’.

“Sorry, did I wake you up?”, there weren't the walls of my room around me, no posters, no bookshelves nor pictures. In fact, there was no room at all. Just an open field I didn't know, somewhere I couldn't remember. I wasn't curled against my mother either. It was just Hogo, and it made me more at ease than expected.

Not being alert in a strange place was a punch to my instincts, but I couldn't bring myself to care aside from a simple:

“Where are we?”

“We’re at school. I carried you here, remember?”, oh yes. She and her stupidly strong arms. “You fell asleep though, so you probably don't”.

I did remember not wanting to come, earlier that day. The air had felt like lead for the entire … month?, weighing heavy on my lungs with each breath. Every layer of clothing was a tight rope made of rubber. It didn't matter how much I tried to fight the dark clouds, they only grew thicker and tighter. It was exhausting. It'd be way easier to just give into the misery. ‘Ah… everyone would be so disappointed to see me like this, choosing the easy way. But I can't carry this and pretend anymore’. So I hid from sewing fake smiles on my face. I just wanted to drown in the pain without witnesses.

Despite that, I let her in.

“C'mon, I want to show you something.”

“I don't really feel like walking anywhere right now”, it had been four days since Tsukumo Yuki talked to me on that very bench, and left me with more thoughts than I could manage. I needed quiet. “Maybe next time”.

Hogo crouched in front of me. Her voice was soft, the one she used when talking to kids. “Please, it won't be long, I promise. We go and then we come back. You will like it”, her eyes were clouded with worry, she looked pretty like that too, “You don't even have to walk if you don't want to”.

“Hmm? How come? You can teleport now, too?”, I cocked a brow, feeling the slight tug of a smile against my will. ‘The things she makes me do’. Her hands closed and opened for a second. She wanted to hug me, and the realization of this loud and clumsy girl being so mindful around me made my chest ache.

“Well, I'll show you if you agree to come with me”, she sang quietly with a spray of confidence.

I was so eager to get an answer to these haunting questions. Haibara’s response was as simple as his own mind. Tsukumo Yuki’s, on the other hand… It was complicated. Or maybe it wasn't? Maybe I had made my choice? But what if I was wrong? How could I know? What would she say? I wanted her thoughts, a piece of her mind to tell me…anything.

‘But not now’. The scent from her neck lulled my senses quiet. The tree leaves above our heads were kind enough to shield us from the summer afternoon. Hogo’s hand traced my skin, untangling my worries stroke by stroke. My legs were folded on her lap, and the vague memory of being cradled this way made me feel so innocent. Too warm to think. Too soft. Too comfortable.

She had a book propped up against my thigh. It was open roughly around the middle.

“What are you reading?”

“112 prayers at midnight”, she hummed, eyes not leaving the pages.

“That's an odd number of prayers”.

“Yeah. It's a story about a non-believer trapped in a time loop trying to save his loved ones after losing them to a mistake… He prays every time for the loop to restart.”

“For a non believer he surrendered fast… At least he has a second chance”.

Silence settled between us. A few seconds later she spoke again.

“Hum, I thought about that too, ‘To pray for time to go back, it's so unfair’. But as twisted as it is, I just can't stop reading. Maybe I'll be surprised”.

“Who’s that god that answers at the first call? That's a real surprise. I'd like to meet him”, that was a slip. My throat tightened and by no means I expected how broken I actually sounded.

Her arms held me closer. When she pressed her lips against my forehead, a sob almost broke through every wall I had built.

“Me too”.

Stop being like this. Don't hold me, don't carry me somewhere calm, don't kiss me so softly. Stop making me feel so small! I don't want the sun, I don't want the breeze, I don't want clouds, or words, or songs, or flowers; I don't want any of it!!

“Shh… it's okay, I've got you”.

The first time this happened, she thought somebody was trying to jump her until she realizes it's only you.

Eventually she gets used to it, recognizing your footstep patterns moments beforehand.

Your affections are often the distraction she needs whenever investigating places/murders gets overwhelming or she's struggling with her amnesia.

She doesn't mind you following her around while exploring the ship or islands. It gives you a chance to talk about what you found, or just have casual chats to take your minds off of this dreadful "trip".

Whenever the others see you together, they usually mind their business. You both keep tightly-knit alibis, so you're rarely suspected of any murders.

But Monocrow can be quite annoying with his constant "no excessive PDA" reminders.

Setsuka

Ever since you've known her, the ol' "hugging from behind" greeting was something you two have exchanged for years. She's absolutely all for it.

It helps on days where she gets self-conscious of her cybernetic eye and stares into the mirror too long. You'd embrace her and reassure her it looks beautiful, giving her a kiss that cheers her up right away.

Fastforward to the killing game, you'd always stay by each other's side, helping the other students feel better about this grim situation and find ways to lift everyone's spirits.

You're impressed with how quickly Setsuka became the "mom friend" among them.

When they all see you being a sweet and supportive couple, it's hard for them to believe either of you could be potential murderers or Voids.

You might possibly have a friendly rival with Hibiki--just to see who can hug your gf the most in a single day.

Nikei

If he's hyperfocused on writing articles or making observations for scoops, he's easy to startle.

It just takes him out of the zone™ and he may get a little annoyed, so it's best to make your presence known beforehand. Only then he doesn't mind it.

He finds it endearing if you wanna follow him around, as he'd love to ramble about his latest scoop to a listening ear.

Alternatively, he could be venting about Mikado being a total bitch (assuming you're part of Void or don't mind the fact he's in Void), but you'll let him.

Before the killing game, the rest of the Void gang sees your interactions as cute!

Though they're surprised at how he can yell at them one moment, and then smile and hug you the next.

During the game, however, Nikei easily gets flustered by your affections if others are around to witness them--especially if Mikado points them out.

But if you're both alone together he'll let you hug him.

Yuki

Tbh if anyone appreciates your hugs the most, it's this guy.

They definitely help bring him back to reality whenever he starts getting upset or disassociates.

Somehow you just know when he needs you the most.

With his fear of losing people he cares about, he'd rather have you stick by him as you venture through the ship or islands. It gets harder to trust anyone besides his s/o as the murders continue.

But he refuses to think you'll ever be a killer. Just straight-up denies it.

Most of the students see you together and notice he's not as pessimistic anymore, which is great!

As for others, well...they may just see you as "interference" and might try to do something to change that /j

Mikado

Usually, he wouldn't allow anyone to sneak up on the mastermind so easily.

But he can sense whenever it's you and so he just plays along, feigning being "captured" once he feels your arms around him.

His mask is all smiles (or half smiles, in this case).

He'll try to reciprocate the gestures when you least expect it, sometimes sweeping you off your feet.

Honestly when not dealing with Void-related stuff, he likes following you around just as much as you like following him!

But only bc he thinks this is what couples normally do.

The others (esp Sora and Teruya) think you've gone crazy for dating the freaking mastermind, and Nikei fully believes you've been brainwashed/hypnotized into loving him.

Imagine how flabbergasted the journalist is when Mikado explains that's not the case whatsoever.

Syobai

Like Sora and Mikado, he can anticipate if you're coming up behind him.

You two got an inside joke that he'll "charge" you for every second you spend hugging him, with you gladly saying you'll go broke.

What made the Ultimate Broker fall for you hard is knowing his dry humor. You get it.

He does feel a bit relaxed with his back against you, so he may be tempted to let you carry most of his weight while he smokes.

If you tend to follow him around like a lost puppy, he won't make much of a comment on it, though he'll ask if you needed something or if you had info to share.

Don't take it to heart. He's just used to being a loner.

Should anyone else notice, they simply marvel at how you can tolerate him.

And here’s a bloodborne crows headcanons drawing no one ask for!

Yeah I headcanons that some characters used to have some pet crows but it’s mostly a references for my fic verse too.

So I don’t have names for all the crows but I have a couple of ideas already. If you have ideas too pls share I’m listening.

Let’s begin with Cainhurst! 🛡️

📚🦉Ok Beltran from the cut content! Not sure he’s still alive during old hunters time but basically I imagined he was the (first?) crow master of Cainhurst.

🐦‍⬛⚔️Vledemyr my oc, my fav cainhurst knight! The current crow master. (Maria & Annalise’s cousin too) He was the one in charged of them before he become captain of the royal guard, he actually have lots of them (and they all love him a lot) but his very first crow is Corvus, the crow on his shoulder.

👑🕊️Ok so Annalise was offered an Albino crow, because she’s the princess and future Queen you see. *Check notes* hm Yuki is a possible name but idk either smt Japanese or slavic who mean snow or fit with cainhurst aesthetic idk.

��🐦‍⬛ Ah Charles (oc based on the cainhurst portrait too, king consort when Annalise was Queen). So when he marry her and was crowned he was offered a baby leucistic crow (that’s why it’s brown, it’s a loose of melanine like albinism bur not complete the the eyes aren’t red or the skin pink for exemple), he was so confused about it like you can see XD probably except a hound or smt (in his dream he would have wish for a lion but there’s no lions at Cainhurst since like 60+ years or smt)

🐦‍⬛🌕🐦‍⬛Maria have 2-3 crows (the ones at the research hall you know 😢 minus the one with the guidance rune that belong to Ludwig like you can see) As for the names I was hesitating between Hugin & Munin (Odin’s crows) or Phobos & Deimos (Mars’moon) for the 2 crows siblings (well I hc Maria study astronomy so… heheh also her third one is the one German is holding x) yeah missing a leg I know. Ok also after Maria passed away the crows escape from the research hall and freak Gehrman out! They wanted to say to him hello or called his named and because crows can mimics sound and voices they took Maria’s voice 💀 he thought he was going crazy for a few mins before he found them… but really it annoyed more Laurence XD the crows really went to harass him (they know what’s up. Or didn’t take well he put them in cages or smt, or you know because of Maria. It got to the point Laurence almost wanted them dead 💀

Fortunately Gehrman managed to made them go with the very first official hunter of hunter, he passed to him the mercy blade as well.

🐥Ah Voron my boy! Aka future bloody crow🩸🐦‍⬛ (No I am not detailing the entire backstory here! And yes his name means raven/crow I KNOW!) also the red of the cap don’t appear much sorry… thanks the scan.

✨+Svetta another Cainhurst oc based the painting with her crow, Voron mom yes. Vledemyr is his dad.

👁️I managed to put Micolash & Edgar on the page XD

💣🔥 Ah this one well when we first got into the hunter nightmare there’s a hunter before a gate right? Behind there’s a crow and I noticed the crow attacked the beasts but the hunter and the bird never attacked each other (only the hunter or beast) that’s why I now headcanons that many old hunters had crows too like this one.

🗡️🌕Ludwig & his crow with the guidance rune. One day the old hunters found many dead crows in the forest, not a good sign… Ludwig managed to recover a baby crow an care for it (he was so panicked at first he asked Maria for help so many times XD)

🐦‍⬛Eileen and some crows & the very first official hunter of hunters! (Before her)

🐦‍⬛The friendly crow of hemwick on the top left :3 I hc it’s either the crow bloody crow had or one link with Eileen or either my own hunter.

As for the other names I had in mind : Hrafn, Karasu, Branagan (I think I’m keeping this one as the name of the first crow hunter too)

Now, you’re gonna ask me why didn’t I just named one « Kuro » (black color in Japanese) well, I’m keeping it for the horses’ names of Cainhurst!!!!

Please may I have One piece scenario of when you (Sanji's wife) and Sanji acted all lovey dovey, you know.. kissing like how all married couples do in the kitchen and your kids who are also Sanji's..(your son's name is Ame age 13 by now *Ame wasn't a handful anymore* and he is a splitting image of his father and Yuki age 11 who looks like her late grandmother) voiced their displeasure in a very obvious/common way when their parents are being disgusting. Some of the crew members laughed at their displeasure..it was definitely cute of how they reacted at it..when you affectionately pulled your children in a hug which they accepted..Ame wouldn't admit it but he is certainly a mama's boy.

Typical everyday family things..

You laughed as Sanji dipped you down and pressed kisses to your neck. It was finally Autumn and you and the rest of the Strawhat crew had docked at an island to replenish food and relax for a few days. You and Sanji were on the Sunny dancing around on the deck while your kids, Yuki and Ame were out with Nami and Robin getting new clothing. You loved how the two women treated your sons.

Sanji smiled down at you before pressing his lips to yours. His arms wrapped around your waist and pulled you closer to his chest. You hummed into the kiss as your arms wrapped around his neck. Your fingers immediately thread into his hair. He chuckled into the kiss before deepening the kiss.

“You two are so gross.” Ame’s voice called out pulling you and Sanji from each other. Nami and Robin were laughing behind the two as Ame and Yuki looked at the two of you in disgust. Yuki was the spitting image of your late grandmother, and you felt your heart clench. Yuki made fake gagging noises before turning away and darting to his room to most likely hide from you and Sanji. Yuki wasn’t the type to stay out in public for a long time and you understood that.

You giggled before racing over to Ame and pulling him into a bone-crushing hug. He tried to pull away from you but he wasn’t strong enough too. If Luffy, Zoro, Usopp, and Brook were here they would have been laughing at Ame. He groaned before hugging his mother back. Ame knew that he was a momma’s boy but he would take that little secret to the grave with him if he had to.

Sanji smiled at Ame before taking him to the kitchen. Ame had grown to love cooking and Sanji took it as a sign to start teaching his oldest son how to cook. Ame loved how tasty his father’s cooking was and wanted to be able to cook just like him. You watched your husband and son walk to the kitchen before you went to Yuki’s room. You found Yuki carefully putting away the new clothing that Nami and Robin bought for him.

Yuki turned around when he felt someone was in the room with him. “Hi, mom!” He called out, a smile on his face. “Hi, bub.” You say back before walking further into the room. “Did Nami and Robin buy you those?” You asked, pointing to the new shirts he was hanging up. “They are! Do you like them?” He asked. You smiled and placed your hand on his head and ruffled his hair. “I absolutely love them.” You said. You were happy with your little family and you wouldn’t change it for the world.

May 29 - Mónaco GP

“Any plans after the race” I asked my teammate, Alex

“Well, there’s always the Red Bull afterparty, you know that is almost a tradition, even if you DNF” I look at him and nod.

“Yeah, I can’t handle too much, not after dealing with a very drunk Charles and Lando, no thank you”

“C’mon, we need a little bit of fun. And we’re expecting the best from you, you’re Mrs. P3 today and can finish as Mrs. P1″

Safe to say that Monaco it’s not my favourite GP. Reason: none but today it’s raining and I prefer a sunny Mónaco. Who knows, maybe I want to look for a really cute french around Mónaco harbor.

I walked to my motorhome and for a moment I feel like everybody was looking at me in a weird way. I ignored it and changed in my race suit getting race before the race. The reunion got cancelled and the FIA scheduled for a little debrief, weird.

As I go inside the room, I am looking for Alex, seems that everybody is in a rush. Being in front row in Mónaco is a big achievement and being in a Williams is like touching gold, so I can mess this up

“Alice...Al...¡Alice!” Alex is shaking my shoulder. Lando and Daniel, who are in front of us, are looking at me trying to gain my attention

“What...I get lost in my thoughts, sorry” I look around and every driver where looking at me “Why is everybody looking at me? For the record, I got a shower in the morning” The looks in their eyes are the same when my mom told that my hamster died when I was 8 years old...

“What ever it is...I’m okay if you tell me...I mean, we tell each other our stuff...sometimes...I...I” Alex take my hand and squeeze it, his eyes are a bit watery, so are Lando’s, so as Pierre’s, so as Sebastian’s

“Tell me already, I can deal with your faces right now as much as I love you all” Sebastian was crying, Alex’s face is something that I would never forget and his next words were like a whisper, an arrow to my heart, worst that a heartbroken.

I got up, ignoring their voices, their screams, I have no place to go, my legs are functioning alone. It’s still raining and the way to the paddock is alone, no one and there’s tears running down, I looked to the grey sky and then to my feet

What now?

I sit on the floor, looking to knowhere. Being a thousand kilometers far from home and being an only child and deciding to leave was the greatest sacrifice for my mom, saying goodbye and know, all that distance just for set myself in my biggest dream, but she’s not here today and she’s not going to be tomorrow

How is it now that somehow I am felling like the biggest looser?

“I’m sorry mom, forgive me. But I know that I have to let you go. I'm giving up and... and I guess this is where we say goodbye, I hope to be alright, someday I'll be fine, it’s just... not tonight” I heard a lot of steps and the boys where standing in front of me with their umbrellas and Carlos have a bouquette of red roses, Yuki offers me his hand so I can stand.

Charles look at me “We are with you and even If you feel you’re alone, you’re wrong. You have 19 brothers that are going to hold your hand till the day we die. We know how close you were, we knew her and she loves you”

“She’s proud, so are we” Said Sebastian “It’s not correct for me to send you racing today but If you feel strong enough to do it for her, we’re with you, If not...well, we’re still with you, till the end of the line”

I look at them. I still have a home, they’re home

“Promise me to stay?” I asked

“Always” All of them start hugging me and telling me that they are here for me and more lovely words.

“Boys, It’s race time. Let’s go” I smiled and headed with Alex to our garage. I changed my suit and get ready. This is for mom, Even if i get in the bottom, this is for my number one fan. My get in the car and thumbs up to everybody. I’m okay, I’m okay

I’ll be okay

“Radio check”

“Loud and clear” I answered to Andrew, my race engineer,

“Okay Alice, let’s do what you do best, I give you my condolences and I tell you that this is your race, do it for your mom, today she’s looking after you...as always, kid”

“Thank you. My mom is now an angel, let’s get that P1” I smiled and the moment we expected, lights out.

With an end time of 01:13:521, I passed the chekered flag and all of the screams of the fans and my team holding a big board with my mom’s name on it and a P1. This is definitelly a race to remember. There is no pain so great as the memory of joy in present grief, my mom is gonna be forever, even she can’t call me as she ever did or wait for me at the airport, her memory and all the time she spend taking care and helping me is something that stays.

I placed the car in front of the P1, I go out of the car and put my hands in my face, not realizing this and I saw everybody clapping at me, Checo and Lewis, stand by my side and in the big screen located at the podium a photo of my mom was present. I kneel crying. Lewis kneel by my side and then hug me, Checo did the same, I look up and the rest of the boy were there with happy faces.

I look at Lewis, we took off out helmets and balaclavas. I smiled and run to hug my team. Everybody is cheering, joyful. I run to the boys and hug Max and then all of them join

“My home is here, thank you”

“Anytime, A” said Mick

“Lovely and cheessy but someone needs a shower” said George and we started laughing. “Go for your trophy miss”

“What a way to kill the moment George” Alex said, he hug me and jump with me “I must be a wizard, Mrs. P1″

“First of many, you’ll see” I follow Checo and Lewis to the podium. I look up to the sky, how gratefull I am for living my dream, being the best on it. And still...she’ll always be here. I shake the champagne and enjoy the moment with the others. My second family is here, smiling at me, clapping, cheering, laughing, all the happy ways to show me how much I mean to them.

At the end

Home is were my 19 brothers are. And I’m glad that I’m always there
