I truly, TRULY do not know how to say this, because the fact that I have to say it makes me feel like I am losing my grip on reality. so on the subject of the "Crowley is secretly Revaan/Laverne/Levin/please Twst give us his name" theory, I think my feelings are best summed up as "I don't really buy it, but it's funny". like, in all seriousness, I'm not opposed to it; I have enjoyed the writing in Twst so far and I'm willing to trust that whatever happens will, you know, make sense and not be terrible. but I'm just not really convinced by the current evidence! maybe that'll change once we learn more, we'll see!

with that said, may I propose a few alternate theories about the possible Crowley/Revaan connection:

Actually going insane over the implications of Jason asking Dick to be the Robin to his Batman in Battle for the Cowl.

Like I initially took it at the purely surface-level of Jason wanting a partner in the general sense. Which made sense, it's a huge responsibility and a lonely one so an assistant/sidekick/partner seems a no-brainer if you can get one.

But then I really thought about it, because Jason is not asking Dick to be his partner in the general sense; he's not even asking Dick to be his Nightwing. He's asking Dick to be his Robin.

And they both know exactly what Jason means: "Be the light to my darkness. Be the smile to my scowl. Be the hope to my fear. "

He's saying "Be 'Robin'; be the embodiment of Love and Justice and Goodness. Be the exceptional person that you have always been. Be the slightly-less exceptional person that I was when I wore your colors. Be the person that I was in the process of becoming and might have been (or might still be), if only Joker hadn't clipped my wings."

He's saying "I am prepared to become vengeance, become the Night. And I will go further than Bruce ever dared to, because it is what is needed. I will be the necessary evil. But you don't have to be. If Batman is Gotham's curse, Robin has always been its blessing. I will be the brutal punishment to our world, and I am asking you to be its incandescent gift."

i may be really reaching here but when crowley says 'who tried very hard to kill you, to cast you into hellfire and destroy you', that's the only reason he gives to hating gabriel. he's not willing to give this clearly ditzy and amnesic archangel a single chance because he was involved in aziraphale's execution and he clocked that he's a generally shitty guy. he doesn't say 'he's an asshole' or anything like that, it's the only reason he gives.

plus, he says 'he's not OUR friend'. He could have easily said 'he's not YOUR friend', but gabriel's actions was an attack on crowley as well as aziraphale, as crowley was the one to stand in the burning bookshop, thinking that his angel had been killed, and was ordered to step into hellfire in a cutthroat manner posed as aziraphale. it gets to the point to the point where aziraphale, the one who was attempted to be executed and has been pushed around by gabriel all his life, gives gabriel more slack than crowley, who only knows gabriel off of the fact that a. he tried to kill azi b. he's been treating azi badly for millenia

plus, we don't know if he knew gabriel before he fell from heaven, and if he did, he doesn't mention it in the 'why gabriel is a bad person so he should not be our adopted son 101' mini presentation, so if he did know gabriel before and gabriel was most likely part of the falling, he doesn't mention anything like 'i knew him before he was a dick', because the ONLY THING that matters to crowley is that gabriel's a dick to aziraphale, something that even AZIRAPHALE HIMSELF cast aside because he wanted to help gabriel, it doesn't matter what gabriel did to him, it doesn't matter that he inadvertantly tried to execute crowley, it only matters what he did to azi, and he's afraid that he'll do it again now he's back. crowley is so scared to lose aziraphale again it's insane also... Sorcerers’ society find out the causes of earthquakes happening faster than usual was MC due to their magic potential (MC being the cause of all the natural ‘phenomenon’ in S2) and now want to investigate MC and call them in.

Drama has already started baby.

Solomon who’s against this but goes with MC to make sure they’re ok because it’s not a good idea to ignore a seemingly threat invitation I mean.

It’s explained the Ring of light was used to console MC’s magic and everything is fine now but they’re doubting it and want to investigate the Ring of light for themselves, if it’s actually successfuly tamed their magic or just a temporary device to tone it down- simply meaning if MC’s overflow of magic would still be leaking and not fully restrained.

[Also add overprotective Solomon drama who’s against this because that’s hot and more dramatic]

It’s found out the ring of light isn’t powerful enough to completely prevent MC’s magic from overflowing and now…

The sorcerers’ society have deemed MC a threat. A large threat to the human world.

Who would be better off dead. No. SHOULD be dead.
