Understanding Lennon McCartney Rewatch Part 4.3
Oof! Got him!
Tumblr media
“She loves you and he loves him and they love each other”. You know when you've got something to say but you don't want it to look like you really wanted to say it specifically so you throw it in between two other things? No? Just me and John?
I'm obsessed with John just heaping praise on Paul in this interview. Every song the interviewer brings up it's “best” “my favorite” “all Paul” “good piece of work” “somewhere I have the tape of him doing it” “damn good” “one of his masterpieces” See also: Paul’s a good lyricist, he just doesn't try because he's insecure. And: one of the most innovative bass players of all time.
Tumblr media
John mixing up In My Life and If I Fell “although I don't know why I'm confusing them, they're nothing alike but they have the same–” The same what? Same target? Same muse? Hmm? “It's really about–it's not about Cyn.” He's barely hanging on to not saying it here, like, by a gossamer thread.
John confessing that the consistent character flaw of Paul's which hurt him ((hurt. Not annoyed. Not angered. Hurt.)) was insensitivity. Not bossiness or lameness or sneakiness. Insensitivity. What John couldn't handle in the end about Paul was that he wasn't aware enough of John's tender feelings.
He's also so cruel in this interview. And what you've got to pay attention to is the theme connecting the songs he's cruel about: Let It Be (let John go) and The Long and Winding Road (the long and pointless fight).
Tumblr media
The Japanese Monk comparison doesn't quite land for me because it implies that John purposely broke up the Beatles because he knew they were at a peak and he wanted them to stay gold. And I think that's what John would like the story to be. It makes him feel better inside. It makes him look incredibly wise and courageous. But it's clear – John even stated it himself more than once on record – that the breakup was not purposeful or calculated. It was a terrible accident that nobody wanted, least of all John.
More quotes to live by when examining John's post breakup “ow!”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I find it fascinating that John thought of Paul's and Dylan's lyrics as very similar and says so twice in this documentary. But nobody else ever draws that comparison. In mainstream thought, Bob Dylan is one of the greatest lyricists of all time if not the greatest (it's me. I'm mainstream. Subterranean Homesick Blues my absolute beloved.) and Paul is the worst lyricist to ever get successful. And you know what? I think Paul gets punished for being physically pretty and financially savvy, and I think in the exact same way his music gets punished for being melodically pretty and commercially successful.
John about Paul's inscrutable messages in his songs: if one knows the person, one knows what's coming down. John in I Know (I Know): and I know. What's coming down.
Tumblr media
I will always love how he says in the same breath . . . “I've compared it to a marriage a million times" and "Paul and I were together.”
You really do gotta be like “Johns say the darndest things sometimes.” I mean that's what Paul did, right? Because genuinely most of the time he's a fucking sweetheart. After he's sat there defending Paul's insane mourning bus movie, the interviewer asks him to compare himself and Paul. And after saying there's never been a question about commerciality, he says this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Nobody think about Paul writing “One of These Days” just before John's death then “This One” a decade later. Don't do it. I do recommend.
Free as a Bird is such a beautiful song. It's a gorgeous melody, and it's got such complex emotions. He's still mourning something that was lost, but he's hopeful. He's on his way home.
You all know that long distance interview Paul did right before John died where they bring up some of the awful things John said recently about him (ignoring the millions of loving and admiring things). When Paul's voice cracks and he looks up at the ceiling and struggles for a minute and the lights go out, I have a theory that it's one of their kids being protective. She was messing with the lights before to be silly and then when the bad question comes she turns them off again as a sort of protective sabotage.
Tumblr media
What If though? What If that's true?
Tumblr media
Quote of all time!!! “The person I actually picked as my partner, who I recognized has talent and who I could get on with, was Paul.” He doesn't say ‘as my sidekick’ or ‘running mate’ or ‘captain’s mate’ or ‘second string’ or any of those things that traditional Beatles fans tend to push on them. Partner.
Serious question, because I swing all over the place as to what I think actually happened between John and Paul physically and emotionally. If we agree that Real Love is about Paul (a baby and another on the way lalalalalala farm . . . Just call him on the phone) Then what about this lyric? “Was I just dreaming (a word of theirs and something they thought they shared) or was it only Yesterday (Paul's biggest song) I used to hold you in my arms? Is that to be taken literally? John used to hold Paul in his arms? i.e. frequent hugging and cuddling?
The heart monitor cuts so harshly into John singing “Grow Old With Me.” As we see beautiful images of John and all the people he's leaving behind. I'm dry heaving. This documentary is so much more painful this time around than the first.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Anyway I'm glad we got coverage of all the “for Paul” songs. Which. Btw fuck you Sean and Peter. You proved absolutely nothing.

Insights come, through original content
It's definitely worth the time, to watch as much original content as possible. BIG note to self.
I've watched all four seasons of Bon Voyage, and just finished the four years of Summer Package. Lots of stuff that I have seen bits and pieces of before, in a lot of compilation videos and "analysis" videos. VERY interesting to see all of it within it's original context, in each show.
Yeah, there's a bit of Jikookery as people call it, in some of it. Most of it I had seen out of context, during my first couple of years in the fandom (when I didn't have any idea about anything). There are a few moments here and there that I haven't seen before which are primarily touches, and super subtle stuff.
The interesting thing is how people have taken so many of those moments out of context to support a story that they are presenting, in their compilations or "analysis". Yes, it can be said that other parts of the fandom have done the same thing, for the same purpose.
One of the moments from BV in Malta that everyone has seen comes to mind, here as I type. It is when they are all at a restaurant, and Jimin and Jungkook are seated across from each other. They reach out at the same time, to offer a bite of food to each other. That is a favorite clip that j-kookers love to use, to prove their theory. I mean, I do think it is cute and sweet, and I do believe that Jimin and Jungkook are together (in a closeted relationship), I just think that it's really a disservice when people leave out the other part of that scene. You know, when Jimin is then offering bites of his food to the other members, too. It wasn't just a Jimin and Jungkook thing, like is portrayed in many of the YT videos I have seen...
The other things I noted are how the editing was just so chopped up and discombobulated at times. Like When you see Jimin literally sitting down right next to Jungkook and then suddenly it is edited and next thing you see is Jimin on the opposite side of the group, not sitting where he had just sat down a second before. lol... Yeah, there's a TON of that crappy editing in all of the series and shows. I'm guessing that as they got into 2017, 2018, 2019 that they had to do a lot more editing as Jimin and Jungkook kinda started being more open with their antics. lol...
I kind of understand why people like to create those videos over on YT. There's thousands of them probably, and literally millions of viewers who like that type of thing. I was one who watched a bunch of it, as I mentioned before. It was before I understood what a lot of it was, and before I understood how much manipulation there was.
What's next on tap for me? I'm not sure. There's a ton of content still for me to make my way through. It has been enlightening to say the least. I do see the shift in the way that Jimin and Jungkook were from the early years into 2019, from what I have watched so far. There's so much there that clearly shows that they had particular types of experiences with each other, behind closed doors. I mean, anyone who has ever had a lover would see it in their energy(if you sense or see energy) and in the way that they would touch each other. It is as clear as the sun in the sky.
I can only imagine the complexities that the members had to navigate in their relationships with each other, their communication of how they felt to each other, and in working out HOW to have two members in a close intimate relationship within the group. Talk about a complicated situation. That puts it mildly. No wonder Namjoon had so many moments when they were in front of cameras, audiences, interviewing and such. No freakin' wonder.
Sorry for this long ramble..... I've just been thinking a lot about them and about what I have seen in these shows. Like I have mentioned, I hadn't seen much of the original stuff that was on Weverse, sold on DVD, or behind pay walls. I didn't actually understand what the heck "Summer Package" meant! lol... There's a TON of content that I have still to watch. This will be an ongoing thing for me, during these months while we wait for June 2025. There's probably going to be more rambles like this one, to come.... 😁💜

December 19th, 73 days since October 7th
TLDR- I am sick of seeing Hamas propaganda here. People here are posting literal blood libels and mistranslated quotes.
After taking a break from social media for the rest of Chanuka, your favorite Zionist is back. Don't worry though, once again, people who never had any interest in this tiny piece of land, continue to tell me, a Jewish Israeli, that I have got my history and facts wrong, while they know better than I do. To that, I have 2 answers: 1. I am just a student who wants to live in peace. I am not a "zionist demon" or a "genocidal killer".
When I call myself a Zionist, all it means is that I'm a Jewish woman who would like to live peacefully in her homeland. I don't inherently support war or death from any side because I am a Zionist. 2. I actually live here, born and raised, and so were my grandparents. How delusional and condescending can you be to suggest that you, a Western person who only found out about this conflict a while ago on Tiktok, know better than an Israeli??? More on double standards Sometimes I wonder why most of you didn’t have such a strong reaction to any other war & civil war going on right now: in Ukraine/ Yemen/Congo and Syria**, etc. Considering the amount of antisemitic hate anons I've received I have a feeling why...
**Which directly affected the lives of most Palestinians.
As I've said in previous posts- It’s easy to throw around big words you don’t understand. There is no apartheid as all Israeli citizens have the same rights. - Gaza is not occupied by Israel- it’s been returned multiple times in history ( just to name a few: 1956,1987,2006...).
*Even when it was under Israel’s control, all it meant was that there were approximately 10 Jewish settlements in Gaza*. The Israeli military presence was to protect those people& prevent terror attacks.
Blood Libels
In addition to the lies and the poor mistranslations from Hebrew, I have also received \ seen an alarming amount of Nazi Propaganda. -you say that you’re anti-Zionist and not anti-Semitic, yet you use antisemitic rhetoric…
Comparisons between Israelis and Nazis -Comparing Israelis to Nazis is wrong on so many levels.
In case you aren't aware, the holocaust was a premeditated and carefully planned genocide, that lasted 6 years. 6 MILLION Jews were killed and all of their possessions were stolen. It followed hundreds of years of persecution, violence, and discriminatory laws. They were also starved and enslaved in different sorts of manual labor, in addition to being experimented on. They were held in Ghettos and concentration camps. In the aftermath of the war, Jews were completely driven out of their land and face prosecution across the world to this day. The existence of Israel allows Jews to live free of that. The Israel-Hamas war following October 7th is a war against a terrorist organization that invaded Israel and massacred its civilians. Unfortunately, due to Hamas' tactics, there are a lot of Palestinian civilian casualties. While they are wrong- the treatment of Palestinians and the bombing of Gaza are nothing like what the Nazis did.
Debunking some misconceptions I've seen on Viral posts here: -No, we Jews do not control the media and global banks. At least invent something new, this is giving Medivel blood libels used by the church lol. -We do not go around killing innocent Palestinian babies for fun. We have laws and a moral compass (Shocking I know). We do not go and kidnap people or rape women for fun either. Do you know who does that? Hamas, the terrorist organization. -We're not all white, this conflict does not revolve around race: There are many Jewish Israelis from the same countries that Palestinians originated from (i.e: Egyptian & Jordanian Jews ). -Israelis perceive Palestinians as lesser human'- This claim is usually supported by mistranslation of Hewbew and out-of-context Interviews. The phrase חיות אדם (Chayot Adam, savages, acting like animals) was obviously often used to describe Hamas terrorists who took part in the October 7th masssacre. We do not call or treat Palestinians as "animals" or savages. All of the referenced instances were about those Hamas terrorists.
-There isn't a 'Gaza Ministry of Health', it's all Hamas. The number of Palestinian casualties and other claims they make are not to be trusted. Most of the casualties are terrorists.
So what is my point?
It is important to note that am not ignoring any of the Palestinian deaths. I’m not saying they should die either. Please stop assuming I do!!
All I’m saying is that Israeli victims matter as well. For some reason, some people cannot comprehend that Israeli civilians do not deserve to die just because of where they live.
You wouldn’t call for the death of all Americans/ Europeans/ South Africans etc… while they committed actual genocide & apartheid.

Imagine my surprise hearing a familiar voice on this week's podcast!!!! Congratulations to you!! How did you get that call?!?
Hi Teach!!
Yay, thank you!
Okay, so here's the story --
Three-ish weeks ago, I get a somewhat random message from one of the Scarves and Coffee moderators if I'd be interesting talking to the producer of the podcast. I was kind of -- huh?? The Mod in question, who is a lovely person, doesn't follow me, nor do I know them, so I kind of thought it was a joke at first.
But being curious, I said okay - and she sent the producer my email. The producer replied almost immediately. And, ngl, I was in shock, because I didn't expect to get a reply at all. (Honestly, I think with the strike dragging out as log as it did, they were beginning to get desperate for content. And, idk, maybe Kevin's interest in fanfiction pushed them onto doing it? I have no idea.)
Anyway - we traded a few emails, and then the producer asked if she could call. Ngl, I googled her just to make sure this wasn't a prank. Sure enough - she seemed legit, so I gave her my phone call.
The producer of the show was actually really nice. She was/is a Glee fan, (and probably more in the know than Kevin and Jenna on somethings from what I could tell by our convo.) She asked some basics - like what was my relationship with the show, how/when did I start writing fanfic, those kinds of things.
Interestingly, and in case you're wondering why this happened, I mentioned to her that I wanted to remain somewhat anonymous. Something she didn't know (and obviously K and J didn't either) is that there are legal issues concerning fanfic. Thirty years ago, Anne Rice sued every single fanfic writer she could find. Now, I know things are better, and copyright stuff has changed, but I'm not a lawyer, and I didn't want to take that chance - so I asked if we could only use my name, and I did not give her my social media handles.
The other reason for that, though? I still am one of those people who like to keep their real life and fandom life a little separate. I know all of you guys know a great deal about me, but I'm not ready for Kevin and Jenna's 55 million followers to descend down on me. Nor do I really want them (or other people in my personal life) to know about what's on this blog/or my fanfiction. Also, maybe feeling a little guilty, I have been somewhat critical of the podcast (though I've always tried to maintain resect for K and J) and I really didn't want the producer digging into that, either.
She was super nice about everything though, and we worked it out that no one would see my face, nor would my last name or social media stuff be shared.
Also, interestingly, within that convo -- I learned that Kevin and Jenna still don't feel like people really like them all that much, and were really moved when people sent in voicemails about the podcast. I was also asked not to ask questions about the show -- because they don't remember anything, but I could ask other questions, because they love answering them.
I did have a few questions - but I never had them answered. The interview went by so quickly, and they moved from question to question so quickly that I never got to ask.
She also mentioned they had just finished The First Time podcast. Not really helping myself, I let her know Kurt was my favorite character, and that TFT was one of my favorites. And I said I had hoped they liked it. The producer paused a bit before replying -- stating that they had warmed to the episode as they talked (kind of like Born This Way) but I would like the episode. (Sure, Jan...)
Another thing she said was that the woman who had just aired, the one who stopped watching during season 3, had a lot of negative attention because she didn't watch the show after season 3. She was really grateful that I had watched the whole series and was still active in fandom. Plus, she loved that I run a bookstore.
Anyway - she basically asked if I was available in two days to record (!!!). Luckily I could (and even if I couldn't - I am the boss and could rearrange). I'm guessing not many other people could do the middle of the day on Wednesdays, so I was chosen.
They already had the other two guests ready to go -- and no, I don't know either of them. It's interesting that they even wanted a third person. And this whole thing is really a lot of really dumb luck.
So, two days later, after a lot of thinking, and one zoom meeting with @snarkyhag to make sure my computer worked properly, I was on the call with Kevin and Jenna. Crazy, right??
Honestly - I really was just at the right place at the right time, grateful that someone reached out to me, and that the producer was really desperate for guests, because I don't think the opportunity would have ever come otherwise.
I'll talk a little more about the actual interview in another ask.
Glad you liked it, Teach! <3

Gwyneth Paltrow photograph by Ellen Von Unwerth for ‘Bustle’ (October 2023)
“A Tantric ritual: during the initiation ceremony, you are given a mirror in which you see your own image. Contemplating it, you realize you are nothing but that, i.e., nothing.
To what end, so many pretenses, so many airs and graces, when it is so easy to comprehend one's insignificance?” - Emil Cioran, ‘Drawn and Quartered’ (1979) [p. 91]
“So who’s going to buy Goop and make you hundreds of millions of dollars?
I have no idea. We’re not ready to sell yet. I need a few more years.
Maybe you could make a dramatic exit on your 55th birthday.
I’d be happy with that.
Sail off into the sunset.
I will literally disappear from public life. No one will ever see me again.
You think that’s true?
Yes.
You don’t get any pleasure from having to do that side of it?
No. I don’t.
What does your professional pleasure come from?
Creating, collaborating, being struck with new ideas, innovating, thinking ahead, strategy, vision, that kind of thing.
Are you motivated by money?
Unfortunately not. I could never get attracted to the really rich guy... And I don’t make choices to build value in the wrong way. I’ve always done independent films. I don’t know. Money has never been my thing. It’s never been my driver.”
“Gwyneth really is the gift that keeps on giving.
Just when you think she can't outdo herself, here comes yet another interview in which she makes all kinds of crazy, contradictory proclamations from an alternate universe.
(…)
Anyway, back to Gwyneth. Despite having spent the bulk of her adult life as a red carpet figure who accepted InStyle's award for Style Icon in 2015 — wearing Schiaparelli couture, no less — Gwyneth hates getting dressed up and having her picture taken, just hates it.
(…)
Yes, let's all sympathize as we look at these portraits of Gwyneth looking ecstatically at herself in a mirror as she applies red lipstick. As she poses suggestively in her underwear and six-inch Louboutin heels. Who is she kidding?
(…)
Whither the Gwyneth who said, 'I am who I am. I can't pretend to be somebody who makes $25,000 a year'?
At least that Gwyneth felt honest. An elitist, insufferable snob, yes, but an honest one.
Here though, we have a Gwyneth who is actively trying to court the woman who makes $25,000 a year. The point of this interview, don't you know, is to plug her new, lower-priced Goop skincare line through — gasp! — Amazon and Target.
Now, if you think this is meant to bring Goop to the masses, don't be silly.
'I just didn't approach it like . . . 'Let's go mass,' Gwyneth says.
What other reason could there be? It's a tautology: You go mass-market to reach the mass-market.
(…)
Once engaged to Brad Pitt and the ex-wife of Chris Martin, a millionaire many, many times over thanks to Coldplay, Gwyneth says here that, 'I could never get attracted to the really rich guy.'
An actress best known to generations of moviegoers for her role opposite Robert Downey Jr. in the 'Iron Man' franchise: 'I've always done independent films. Money has never been my thing. It's never been my driver.'
Strewn throughout is one of my favorite tics in a celebrity profile: the unnecessary use of big words, especially ones meant to evoke business school: When Gwyneth was getting divorced, she says, she didn't just talk to her friends — she embarked on 'data collection.'
She and her team didn't think about doing a lower-priced line; it was something they 'ideated.' Her serums and lotions just don't work; they're 'efficacious.'
There's an unjustified shot at 'the patriarchy' for the pressure women feel, she says, to be busy all the time, as well as the term 'nepo baby.'
'Nobody rips on a kid who's like, 'I want to be a doctor like my dad and grandad,' she gripes.
Well, no, because to become a doctor one must pass exams and do residencies and, you know, prove oneself as smart enough to be trusted with human life. But let's mourn for the children of Malibu, with their modeling gigs and influencer deals, spared the rigors of the meritocracy.
(…)
And those moms out there working three jobs and struggling to afford child care — well, they can't relate, but Gwynnie is hoping you'll try her new Goop treatments priced for the poor people out there — the $24.99 eye serum or the $19.99 glycolic acid toner.”

Fic writer interview
Thank you @takingoffmyshoes for tagging me in the thing!
How many works do you have on AO3?
51 (putting additional text in this line because if I don't tumblr makes the font truly enormous)
What's your total AO3 word count?
283,783
What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
don't make me spell it out (TMFU. Aka The Pegging Fic)
poco a poco (Rogue One. Aka The Music Student AU)
a million different reasons (TMFU. Aka the one where Napoleon's self-loathing and Gaby's inability to identify or ask for what she wants delay a threesome for an inordinate amount of time)
breathe (Gotham TV. Aka that one Gotham fic I ever wrote)
least the rose alive must three (TMFU. Aka the soulmate AU)
Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I try. If I'm going through a tough moment they often get unanswered, but I generally answer otherwise. Unless it's someone asking me to write more.
What's the fic you've written with the angstiest ending?
Based on the number of times the word "bittersweet" is used in the comments section and the crying emojis, likely don't talk just hold me closer (Star Trek: Discovery). Its sister fic nor made me feel so sweet is also a bit of a downer™
What's the fic you've written with the happiest ending?
I don't tend towards *unhappy *endings in my substantial works, but Dirty Talk (TMFU) is unrepentantly sappy so that I suppose
Do you write crossovers?
I don't believe I ever have
Have you ever received hate on a fic?
I'm not sure I'd call it outright "hate", but have received multiple comments on a million different reasons upset at me because I guess Napoleon being an unreliable narrator is not obvious enough for everyone.
Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Every now and then. And, statistically, the threesome/moresome kind.
Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Even if I had I have no clue how I'd know.
Have you ever had a fic translated?
I don't think so. I have translated a few of my own and others' fics as French practice.
Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Nay.
What's your all-time favorite ship?
Hmm I'm not sure I have an OTP to Rule Them All. The TMFU ot3 seems an obvious answer. That said, I am a chronic multi-shipper within fandoms so I rarely even have an OTP within a fandom. This may not be obvious in my writing but it is my reading habit if nothing else.
What's a WIP that you want to finish but don't think you ever will?
Before anyone says "so give me a line and take me home", it's getting finished. Just not quickly. Stop telling people I'm it's dead
In terms of genuine "yeah I'm probably not gonna finish that", birthright, my Rogue One Pacific Rim fusion.
What are your writing strengths?
I would say writing nuanced/ambiguous/fucked up little guy characters? None of my favourites are free from sin, if you feel me, and I like to explore those sins.
Also @takingoffmyshoes tells me they want to write Gaby/Napoleon the way I write Gaby/Napoleon so that, apparently :D
What are your writing weaknesses?
Structuring conflict and resolution. I often find myself resolving conflicts too quickly/easily in longer fics.
What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?
Entirely dependent on the context. I've done it multiple times, in multiple languages, some instances more successfully (imho) than others. For me, the most seamless way to integrate it and have the audience understand is via framing things in the POV character's thoughts (assuming they understand what's being said).
What was the first fandom you wrote for?
Doctor Who. Somewhere in the presumably purged depths of LJ there was an 11/Rose fic I wrote.
What's a fandom/ship you haven't written for yet but want to?
Too damn many. If I had to pic one, Widows (2018), a film which left me clinically feral in the best way, has a woeful lack of fic (or people who've watched it in general. Go watch Widows. It rocks. It will fuck you up and devastate you emotionally. It's got muscly Viola Davis in a tank top. Range.)
ETA oh and Lower Decks. Because the world will be forced to endure the result of my "Mariner and Ransom have been fucking since season one and neither of them acknowledges it and both of them kinda loathe themselves for it but the sex is so goddamn hot that it keeps happening" conspiracy theory slant on watching the show.
What's your favorite fic you've written?
I'm going to completely sideline the bigger/more popular fics of mine (such that my limited popularity is). They're fine. I like them. "so give me a line" makes me want to eat plaster (Affectionate) every time I return to it. Choosing trompe-l'oreille (Atomic Blonde) because it fucks severely. By which I mean it is both emotionally and literally haunting. That is a form of fucking, right?

this might be my new favorite interview of all time
holy fuck
im cackling like mad and cannot stop grinning.
theyre such adorkable beans
have an image description-
“Its not really in our nature to argue , except through lawyers. We sulked.” -Roland orzabal “Now i've got you!!” Smith prepares a sneak attack.  Duran Duran collect their Q award. Tears for Fears were not, repeat not, even a tiny bit jealous.  Launching the new Seeds of Love in 1989. No mic for Curt, then? Curt Smith, one day he’ll graduate to the driver’s seat.
Roland, is it true that you once foresaw Curt’s death in a motor race? And have you had any premonitions lately? RO: No, that’s made up as well. Predictive astrology I know nothing about.  CS: Basically, we are dull people so the press are forced to make things up about us. That said, he did used to try to pick up attractive young ladies by guessing their star signs and, 95 percent of the time, getting it wrong. RO: Actually, I didn't do that at all. I would ask them their birthday, and was then able to tell them what their father was like. I was spot on, mostly. It was very impressive.  CS: No, you would tell them that it was in their future to have an affair with a middle-aged pop star…
Curt, what have you been doing for the past 10-plus years? CS: Hanging on. [Orzabal erupts into slightly manic laughter. Smith ignores him] The day after I left the band, I moved to New York because I wanted to disappear. It’s no coincidence that I moved into a city in which you could disappear very easily. A while later, I made a solo album, which I hated; I had a syndicated radio show in America; I was an MTV VJ. In other words, I had a life.
How the hell did you spend one million pounds making The Seeds Of Love? And do you still consider it to be a work of genius? RO: It cost a million pounds because it took over four years to record, and the studio was 1500 a day. I don't think that, overall, it was a work of complete genius, but there are definitely elements of genius in it. Parts of the album are overproduced and pompous, and listening to those parts now makes me cringe. But every time I do listen to it, I still go, Wow, how did I do that? That’s amazing. It’s the most genius Beatles rip-off in existence. Q gave us five stars, you'll remember. I wouldn't have given it as much as that. But you did.
Who ripped off The Beatles more- you or Oasis? RO: Oasis ripped off The Rutles, not the Beatles. But Liam does do an amazing Lennon, he just does, his voice sounds beautiful. We were ripping off one aspect of The Beatles- Sgt Pepper- while Oasis have made a career out of it.
Roland, is Fish Out Of Water (from Elemental, his first ‘solo’ Tears For Fears album) about Curt? If so, those are some pretty cutting lyrics… RO: Yes, it is, and it contains some of my favourite lyrics. “We used to sit and talk about primal scream/To exorcise our past was our adolescent dream/But now its sink or swim since your memory fails/Now in Neptune's kitchen you will be food for killer whales.” Fantastic, no? Pure vitriol.  CS: I couldn't give a fuck, quite frankly. Its a compliment, in some ways. RO: Absolutely. It means I cared deeply for him. [Laughs] That’s one way of interpreting it, anyway…
The ‘80s: an era of cocaine, non-stop fashion disasters and infinte greed. Discuss RO: Absolutely. It was a time of Wall Street’s “greed is good”, of Margret Thatcher and rampant free market capitalism, that kind of thing. True, the mullets were a disaster, although my hair is much the same today. But, by then, we were the very antithesis of rock’n’roll. The drugs didn't come until much later- I didn't start doing charlie until the ‘90s, and only then because I wanted to catch up. In the ‘80s, I’d denied myself many pleasures. I was very introverted, very anal.  [Smith nods in silent agreement]
After the fallout in 1990, was Roland pleased to see Curt’s career flop? RO: I didn't like his first solo album at all, but then nor did he. I felt it was going in the wrong direction. But his second, Mayfield, was really good. I thought to myself, Why didn't he do this when we were together? I wouldn't have let him? Well, thats probably true. I did view Tears For Fears very much as my band, I suppose.
Who is the best singer? RO: I am. CS: I am.
You were really pretentious, weren't you? RO: [laughing again] We Still are pretentious! But we’re much better at it now. We’ve blended our pretensions with humor, wouldn't you say? We are humorous and pretentious and middle-aged. We’re both 42, after all. CS: But I look younger RO: Cunt. (yes he says cunt, not curt)
Duran Duran got a lifetime achievement at last years Q Awards. Were you jealous? RO [scoffing]: I think, basically, you are running out of people to give awards to, so watch this space, because it could be us next year? What I want to know is why you didn't give it to Phil Collins. Genesis, the solo years and of course The Lion King, the best record he’s ever made. Anyway, how do you define achievement? As Sting once said… CS: oh, for fucks sake, please don't start quoting Sting.  RO:.... As Sting once said, Music is its own reward.

I really wish the el/riels would just trust SJM and wait until she wraps the series, before making judgement of the possibility of Elucien and/or Gwynriel endgame. Like if you've made it this far and read her all her books, safe to say you enjoy her work. Not saying she is perfect, she has made some writing decisions I've questioned but nothing to warrant never wanting to pick up another book. I find her books to be some of my all time favorite, despite some of my criticism.
My biggest issue is when readers act as if THEY they are the author, or try and claim they have some insider news.... looking at the el/riel who for years now have been proven to be a lair, each time she claims she has some source, karma comes around, she deletes her post, like screenshots did not make their round. Sure, some of her "insider information" is the same educated guess the rest of us made, based on very easy accessible information. But otherwise, most of their claims have blown up in their face, like when she said Elriel was confirmed in HOSAB, umm, what a fucking lie - yet, her followers continue to believe her "trust me, I have an insider BS". And even aside from claiming to have a source, posting theories as factual and trying to dismiss the potentially for elucien, who are mates, or gwynriel, who were given a foundation of the start of a friendship, when we know SJM has built romance on a lot less (TOG PEOPLE) is choosing to be ignorant. I think they are setting themselves up to become anti's should SJM go the gwynriel and/or elucien route with how nasty they've been towards any other outcome. I literally had an elriel tell me SJM doesn't know what she is talking about in her interviews. Excuse me? You are telling me that the author, who created this world, these characters, doesn't know her own fucking story? Who the fuck are you to imply you know more than the author. I'm telling you, some elriels have lost their goddamn mind. Don't make such absurd claims and throw insults that could come around.
At the end of the day only SJM know's what all happen, yes, we can make assumptions based on our understanding of her writing, but until she confirms it, no one of can claim we are 100% right. until the book is out. If El/riel happens, I'm fine with it, I trust SJM will find a way to make it compelling, despite me rooting for Elucien since day one. I'm not naive enough to say with certainty my ship will be endgame, I can only HOPE and as a reader wish for it, but really it's up to SJM and what she decides to do, and I can only respect that if I wish to continue reading her books.
I fully agree with what you are saying and I wish more people grasped the concept.
Based on SJMs writing style and past couples, I think she is building toward an Elucien / Gwynriel endgame. It doesn't matter what has happened so far, who it looks like Elain and Az want, how many hints E/riels think there are hinting at an E/riel romance. None of that matters to me because they same thing can be said for other SJM pairings that did not end up being endgame.
Could I be wrong? Absolutely. Could she still decide to make E/riel endgame? Sure!
I still think Elucien is more likely but it's ridiculous to say that there is zero chance in the world that Elain will end up with anyone else.
E/riels don't think that though. They literally say we're idiots for thinking Elucien / Gwynriel is a possibility, that there is no chance SJM can find a way for a couple who had a rocky start to end up together (even though that's been the formula for every single one of her endgame couples), that we're misogynists for wanting Elain and Lucien to end up together (and on and on).
But why??? Elain and Az aren't together. She hasn't officially rejected her bond. We don't know if Az has an actual Mate and if he found her, what would he do. There are a million questions still surrounding Elain, Az, Lucien, etc, and as a result, hundreds of possible outcomes to the current scenario.
I get people like to hold tight to the "no team is better than our team!" and that's fine but saying, "no team can possibly win but our team!" is stupid. Seriously. I'm not trying to name call but acting like there is zero chance of Elucien and Gwynriel happening is stupid. There's obviously enough in the books to support people feeling these ships have a real shot. Elucien was so much a possibility that SJM imagined where they might go on vacation at one point. So calling us stupid is calling SJM herself stupid and that makes no sense at all considering she's the one who wrote the books and dropped all the hints making Elucien and Gwynriel as much a contender in the ship wars as E/riel is.

Wreckless - The Package
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
Emmett
I spent the rest of the day doing laundry in my new rocket-ship washer, playing with Marten, watching YouTube and managing to install the water line I needed for the fridge and stocking it well.
I'm not sure when I got so old but really... I was never wild and crazy.
Whatever bit of rebellious young man I ever had in me, was handled quite thoroughly by the army.
Once I got home... I'd had enough of everything... teh bars, noise, people, danger... I'm very happy in my little nest.
Finnegan texts me, apologizing again and thanking me for lunch and dessert.
It didn't go according to plan... I'd hoped to have a sweet, loving session that we both enjoyed but I didn't get him off because after the argument, we had very little time but that's okay.
He didn't seem to mind and he has an amazon package arriving today.
Emmett Locke: You're welcome. You have a package waiting for you at home. Feel free to use or not use it to your heart's content.
Finnegan Walker: Interest piqued. Tell me?
And ruin the fun I'm having?
Besides, maybe it'll help distract him during interviews.
Emmett Locke: No.
Finnegan Walker: Something I can use, not wear? Huh, no idea.
Nope, his cute new undies and t-shirt are coming to my place.
I found him a 'little' matching set that I think he'll love.
A little... I'm funny.
Three hours later he calls me and he's laughing.
"You got me a unicorn dildo?"
"You mentioned it, not me. When I saw it, I had to get it for you."
"And it's rainbow coloured."
A definite benefit.
"They had three sizes. I hope you enjoy this one since I couldn't take care of you at the office."
"It's huge. A smaller one would have been plenty."
"That's the medium size."
"WHAT? They make a bigger one than this? You're fucking with me, right?"
No I'm not.
That's the whole point.
"I swear, Emmett"
He suddenly sounds shy.
"Can you... I mean can we talk while I uh... you know?"
Is he really asking that?
Has anyone ever... EVER... said no to that? Ever?
"Of course darling. Facetime too, if you want."
"Not sure I can handle that, no, no, you'll have to settle for my voice. I have to get changed first though and take my contacts out, you know."
"Prep, yes, yes you do that. Call me back whenever."
I grab my laptop and pull up the picture so I can really visualize everything he's saying and then pull out my favorite dildo.
It's been awhile and this sounds fun, especially if he's on the other end of the line doing the same as me.
He doesn't make me wait too long.
"Hey darling."
"Hi. I'm on my bed."
He's so cute.
"Funny, so am I. I'm on my side and am about to lube up."
"Wait, you're going to...? You're going to play too?"
"If you don't mind. I promise I'll pay lots of attention to you."
"Of course I don't mind Emmett. I just... no, it's nice. I haven't done this, phone-sex I mean, in like a million years and I was SO bad at it last time."
He seems to have no idea how incredibly sexy he is.
"I doubt that. Are you going to get yourself hard first?"
"Already am. I've been sort of miserable since lunch. Not that I mind," he adds.
"Yeah... But I'm... um... on my front and I'm rubbing against the sheets."
That explains the rustling and it's a nice visual.
Very nice.
"Do they feel good against your cock, Finny?"
"Hmm... I wanna suck on it. I wonder what the spiral will feel like."
"You'll have to twist it once it's nice and deep inside your ass, Finny."
It's the perfect time to shoot some lube up my ass and I can't help but moan.
Yes, it's been way too long.
"Suck on it. Do it while I start working this dildo in. I'm going to be so damn tight, Finnegan, it's going to take me awhile."
"Holy SHIT you're... Oh God I thought you were going to jerk off... I mean... Oh God you're playing... I mean you're...?"
"I'm gonna fuck myself just like you are, yeah. How deep in your mouth did you get, hmm? What color?"
"Ooh... Do you know the...? Of course you do. Most of the orange. I can do most of the orange without gagging."
"You're such a good boy. Lick it for me... all the way from the bottom to the tip."
He moans and I imagine he's doing it to my cock.
I love his tongue and lips around my length.
"I bet you can get it into your ass that deep as well.... don't you think? You'll need lots of lube babe, remember that sex-toys aren't supposed to hurt."
"No, that's your job. I remember, Emmett."
I shiver and push the sex-toy in a bit further... until I can really feel the nice stretch.
"Oh damn... that feels so good. Yes."
"You sound so good, Emmett. You're breathing hard."
"That's because my ass feels good and I'm stroking my cock. I want you to lube up the horn and rub the tip along your pretty little slit."
"Okay. I will."
It takes him a moment but I know as soon as it's pressing against him because he sighs.
"Feels so good."
"Do you want it? Keep teasing yourself with it until you really, really need it... until you can't stand not having it inside you."

Big Boss Vette is RESILIENT
Big Boss Vette exudes classic underdog hunger spiked with a fresh, fearless, and fiery approach to hip-hop. The rapidly-rising St. Louis rapper and singer Big Boss Vette shares her anxiously awaited debut EP, RESILIENCE via Beatstaz/Amigo Records/Republic Records. Listen to RESILIENCE—HERE.
In celebration of the project’s arrival, she uncovered a personal short film that digs deeper into Big Boss Vette’s story of RESILIENCE. It opens with a powerful line from the hit-maker as she states, “the good shit yall see came from a million failures.” Then it proceeds to chronicle her success from the very start up until now. It’s a transparent and inspiring story of how self belief will unlock the doors to achieving your dreams.
With no shortage of quotable wordplay or massive melodies, RESILIENCE boasts seven brand new songs. The stand out track “Get It” is a multigenerational anthem fit for any backyard bbq. While other songs including the punchy “Another One” and club-ready banger “Lick The Cat” double-down on Big Boss Vette’s strong aptitude for creating memorable hooks.

FEATURE INTERVIEW
You’re more than a rap artist, how would you describe your sound?
I would describe my sound as authentically different, that's because I show up, and I shout out and I'm authentically myself. I don't want to sound like nobody, I don't want to be like nobody, I just want to be Big Boss Vette.
You are definitely giving authentic. When I think about a playlist that includes Big Boss Vette, I think of Azalea Banks, what other artists come to mind for you?
If we are going to mix and match Big Boss Vette, we gonna ass in some Latto, we're gonna add in some Cardi, City Girls, Maiya The Don, Foxy Brown, Lil Kim, Nicki Minaj... we gonna add all the girlies okay!
You're giving you're ready to be on go at any time. You’re hard at work promoting your debut project, Resilience, how did it feel to perform your new works for the Rolling Loud audience?
To be honest, I've been teasing these tracks for a very long time. To perform them I was ready! I already know I create great music and bring out great energy. When I hit that stage, I demand for my cousins to rock out with me, turn up with me, and give me their full, undivided attention. It's my time to shine. They loved it! I was grateful, it was an honor honestly.
I just heard that BET premiered your "Get It" video in Times Square -
In Times Square Baby!!! Ahhhh
Let's go! How does it feel to have your first ever billboard in Times Square?
It feels amazing! The whole time I was just screaming, I couldn't contain it, it's Times Square it's an honor. They actually tricked me, they said that we were going to be out there to film content, and then they had me turn around and look and I was so excited and I couldn't contain it! To have that type of support while I'm building means everything to me.
It's great that you got to start your day off with such a celebraroty moment!
Yes!
You also have an exclusive EP Release Playback tonight for Republic NYC Studios. I'm excited for you to pop out. My favorite tracks from the EP are “Fly Shhh”, “Get It”, “Can't FWM” & “Dollas”. If you could choose your top tracks which would they be?
I would do "Get It" because that song is everything, it's house, work out, family function, it's commercial it's everything. That record is so big and can be pushed so many places.
I like “Can't FWM” because when you're feeling down it's gonna snap you out of your bag. I would also say "Dollas" and "Another One". I love both of those because it's giving. we're in the club, hookah in hand.
You’re from St. Louis, Missouri, how would you say St. Louis is different from NY?
First things first, we don't have such a big scenery there. St. Louis is like an off market type of place. To be honest, if I didn't blow up off of social media, I don't know how I would be here today.
Our accents are also very much different, I'm country as hell.
I'm here for the southern girl accent!
Thank you, thank you!
What’s something you look forward to doing in NYC when you’re not performing and running press?
Eating. I be ready. I'm an open person so I will try any place. I also want to see the scenery and meet new people. Networking and creating content in this nice city.
I first discovered your song “Snatched” at a queer party in Brooklyn. What impact does it have for you that your music resonates in the queer community?
I love it because I am pansexual, so my love has no limits. To be accepted and streamed by everyone means so much. Not too many people can resonates with my cousins (her word for fans/supporters).
You are signed to Republic Records. In previous interviews you mentioned getting signed means things get harder (meeting deadlines, getting clearances, marketing yourself etc). Would you say things have gotten easier?
Now yes, absolutely. When I first started, absolutely not. You are starting over at the bottom in a new playing field. I had thought that when you get signed, you are Beyonce, and that's not what happens. You gotta get your name out there, having dates for drops, clearances if you use certain sounds or references in your songs. everything is different on a corporate level. They also reach certain points you can't reach if you was not signed.
What advice do you have for independent artists looking for more exposure?
I would say just keep posting cause I went viral off of being broke. I had propped by phone up. I had a Playstation 2 to have the beat and I was just posting, I didn't have a plan behind it I was just doing it. When I started going viral, that's when the money started to come. At one point I traveled fourteen hours via car for seven-hundred dollars. Just do it. There will be days you wake up and see certain things on blogs and you may feel like "why I'm not there?" Don't take the media serious. Just do it.
Some of your recent & upcoming festival performances include - ROLLING LOUD (LA, SAN FRANCISCO, MIAMI), LOLLAPALOOZA, AND SUNDOWN ALASKA. What’s one city you haven’t performed in that you look forward to performing in the near future?
I wanna perform in Jamaica. Every artist that I've seen go to Jamaica has had a ball out there.
To end with glam...
What is your favorite perfume?
Carolina Herrera, when I first seen it, it was the heel that caught my attention. I went to see what it smelled like and instantly I was obsessed. I just have her every where I go. I don't put her in my checked bag because she smells to good and I don't need anyone to steal her.
What’s your favorite fashion trend?
I like the 90s spice baby, pop star era, that kind of just sticks with me.
What are some beauty tips you can share with the Galore audience?
On a very hot day baby, don't do a full face baby. Get you a concealer of your choice, put it right up under your eye, your cheeks, your forehead, get some setting powder and that's it. You don't need nothing else cause it's going to melt off. Get you some setting spray and baby keep it with you. It's going to get you together I promise.
Now that I know that your face is glowing without the foundation, what's your night routine.
I use this black soap and then I go in with an oil cleanser.
What is your zodiac sign, and how do you feel that influences your creative process.
I am a libra, balance, and I just wanna say, if I can't figure it out, then I just won't do it. I need to feel good about what I'm doing. I don't mind doing new things, but if it just feels so foreign, I'm not forcing creativity because that's when you start putting out trash. I just wait for it to come to me.

Parasocial relationships.
I wanna talk about them.
What are they? Wikipedia says: "Parasocial interaction (PSI) refers to a kind of psychological relationship experienced by an audience in their mediated encounters with performers in the mass media, particularly on television and on online platforms."
While this did exist technically for decades it's really only recently become more of a mainstream term and that's primarily bc of social media platforms that continue to push the boundaries of what is personal and what is public.
With technology being where it is we are finding so many issues that are side effects of these advancements. People filming others in public spaces wasn't seen nearly as big an issue in the past as it has become now partially bc of how technology has advanced so you aren't carrying around a tape recording video camera like they did when video cameras were stil relatively newly publicly accessible tools (as opposed to tools of an industry). It is also impact by how we interact online. And this stems back to the dawn of the internet.
When the internet was first being birthed into people's homes it came with a lot of freedom. It also had a lot of holes. Internet safety became a huge topic in the 90s that for some reason faded almost entirely. Back when i was growing up you were told not to talk to strangers online on the same level as don't get in a car with a stranger. It was for good reason too, the internet was a much easier way for those who wished to do harm to find a way to do so. It's only gotten worse.
Nowadays there is two factor and secure passwords and encryption that can help protect people but that's bc the threats have gotten to a point where it's a danger to governments. No amount of passwords or authentication is going to eradicate the human error. And the human error is what people count on when they are trying to do something they shouldn't.
All that said i think it's clear how there are a lot of different factors that play into this: safety/security, technology, boundaries, etc. Parasocial relationships have grown with technology. Back when Hollywood was the end all be all, back before the internet, famous people could have more of a buffer. This isn't to say those parasocial relationships weren't happening. They were very different though.
Imagine if your favorite YouTuber or tiktoker or internet personality did nothing but movies and the occasional late night show interview that if you didn't have the tv on at the right time you missed it forever. That sort of division between creator and audience gives the audience room the breathe and recalibrate back to reality. Social media platforms thrive on interaction even if it isn't positive or good.
I think creators are going to need to incorporate some different techniques in order to communicate better with their audience. "Why not the audience just change their behavior?" Idk have you tried getting hundreds or thousands or millions of people on the same page as one another? Yeh it's a little cumbersome. Artists have had to adapt before and it's literally part of being an artist. Communication needs to be clearer.
This isn't just about people who don't log off. It's being aware of how many different people there are and how everyone is going to see something different at different lights of the day you know what i mean? Like even ONE person can view a video at one point of the day feel one way about it then view it again later with a completely different perspective on it.
Now if you as an artist want fo leave it open to interpretation (🙄) fine, but you then give up your right to dismiss complain or judge any of the interpretation.
However, if you communicate clearly what you are doing and why it will serve you in the end bc you will always be able to go back to that and say see this is what I'm doing what I've been doing this is my intention and you cannot take that from me.
Creators have got to really think about their intentions and the impact of those intentions on others. Your intentions can be harmless, but the side effects you didn't consider could be harmful to you or someone else.
On the other we do need to do work on the audience side OBVIOUSLY. We need to really start investing in educating YOUTH on psychology. I'm not saying like cognitive development theories or anything extreme. But having conversations about relating to one another is something long overdue in our public schools.
We also need to rethink what socializing means today. Let's not conflate internet friendship with parasocial relationships. Lots of kids cannot connect with others in their life and being able to connect with anyone even if they live half way across the globe can literally save their life. Let's nurture that while keeping in mind that though there are risks we can do what we can to lessen the risks without destroying the ecosystem that is being built. We can teach kids that a relationship is a two way street and that just because someone says that they love you doesn't mean they know you.
I think the region it may get really muddy is live streaming. Because there is typically a central figure, the streamer, and then the audience. While streamer may interact with the audience individually directly in ways we haven't seen in media typically before, it's still not the same as bonding with someone in real life. All it really is is a quieter live show like you would see on stage, except everyone in the audience has blinders and a gag on and can only applaud by spelling it out one letter at a time.
However, there are friendships and bonds made between streamers and some audience members. I haven't seen it cause issues necessarily, but i wouldn't be surprised if it does.
This is mostly a brain dump. Im nearing the end of my shift so I'm ending this also my mind is scattered so idk what else i had to say. I just need to go to bed ASAP

Today's Topic: Accepting Failure
Today's topic is one that I've had a hard time grasping. I am a perfectionist at times, and I can't even fathom failing. But that's a lie. I have failed in my recovery many many times before and had no issue with it, it didn't break me. Only the last few times, that failure really hit. Which, in turn, helped me to be sober again because I hate feeling shitty and feeling like I not only failed myself but the others who love and care for me so much.
Accepting failure and learning how to accept "No", is something that a lot of us struggle with. What I have as experience in relation to this topic comes from my drug use. And what I had to keep accepting was that every time I picked up, I was failing. I was failing myself, my loved ones, my unborn children, and people who are looking up to me. When you not only just think about yourself, you realize how much and who you are hurting. In the "Serenity Prayer" it says, "Help me to accept the things I cannot change." There's just some things you cannot change; like my boyfriend for example. The post the other day where he had an unfair interview, he could not change those peoples minds about their opinion on him, he couldn't change the situation, so he had to accept the "failure", that was not getting the job.
Once we can accept our "failures/shortcomings", we can start to focus on what we can change or receive. This goes into our "Affirmations", as we are visually seeing what we want out of life. This does not mean that every single thing on your list will be accomplished and successful. Some of the things on your list might not be fulfilled, and you have to take in that moment and accept that. Then, move forward. We can't sit on our failures all day, because you have more to look forward to then what you didn't get. This also ties in to your "Grateful List", being thankful that you even had the opportunity to have that chance, instead of focusing on the negative of, "Why didn't I get it?", or "Why is this happening to me?".
Think about your favorite celebrity. This could be anyone from an actress, to a famous doctor or fitness celebrity. Anyone. Think of how they got to where they're at. How many times do you think someone told them no? I recently watched a short film on Dave Chapelle, where he spoke at the arts school he attended, doing a motivational speech for the younger generation about how to never give up. And it surprised me when he said that he was told no the first time and was told that he wouldn't make it. I couldn't believe that this millionaire, who's traveled all over the globe, and is so successful, got told NO. You think he just said, "Okay, well, guess this isn't for me." If you want something bad enough, no one is going to stop you. You will get a million "No"s before you hit that one, great, amazing YES!
Right now I am unemployed, barely just starting my journey of sobriety (2 days currently), and I can sit here and focus on the negative in that. I've applied to hundreds of jobs over the last few weeks and have been told "No" 90% of the time. I could easily give up and go into a funk, not wanting to do anything. But I want to work, I want to do more with my day, and make money for my family. So, no "NO" is going to stop me. I am determined, and will push through all the shit until I get to the other side. You have to have the same mentality if you want to accomplish anything.
I love this quote, and I've mentioned it before, "Stand for something, or you'll fall for anything." Stand tall in yourself and your good choices, today and every day! Or you will fall and succumb to your failures and regret. Learn to accept the "No"s, and see them as a sign that you are most likely meant for something better than what you had your sights on. We think we are the authors of our own life story, but God knows all. He knows everything before we do it. He knows when we are going to fail and accepts us anyway. Do the same thing for yourself and accept the failure, but move on towards better things, because better things are waiting for you if you allow them to come!
Exercise for this topic:
Think of the failures you have accepted or are wanting to accept. Write down how you are going to move forward from that. Put sticky notes of encouragement for myself and reminders of how you are going to push through that failure. It could be "I will not stop looking for work.", "I will not smoke." "I will eat better." This is going to be helpful reminders and help you visually see how you are going to move forward. It's okay to think about what we lost, but not for too long. We have to always think positive, even in shitty situations. Just remember they are only shitty for a moment in time.
*Always be honest with any lists you create for yourself. Think of it like going to the doctors. You wouldn't lie about something serious you should be telling the doctor. SO, being your own doctor in this sense, we have to be honest about everything with ourselves, or there will be no resolution.*
Thank you again my fellow readers for taking time out of your day to read what I have to say! If I just reach at least one person, to help them feel better, then I've done my job, and this isn't all for nothing! Please feel free to DM me for any topics you want covered, or email me directly at [email protected]
Have an amazing Monday, let's have a great start to our week, and HUG YOURSELF!!!!!!!!!

✰ Iwa is a fairly blunt person who doesn't mince words.
✰ That's not to say that he doesn't have a filter, but if he thinks something needs to be said, then he's going to say it.
✰ You were discussing plans for what to do after highschool, and Hajime said something that implied that he thought you were being naive.
✰ "You need to be more realistic about your plans for the future. Not everything is a fairy tale like you think it is."
✰ You understood his point, but the way that he said it was undeniably hurtful, and you reacted negatively almost immediately.
✰ You've always been worried that he sees you as being immature, and this really struck a nerve. After all, Iwa has always been calm and collected when it comes to making plans, he always seems to have it together.
✰ All of those little insecurities start to bubble up, and before you know it, there's a lump in your throat and your eyes are watering.
✰ The second you start to reply, and he hears the way your voice breaks, Hajime realizes that he's screwed up.
✰ "I-I know I'm not as good at this stuff as you are, Haji, but I'm not- I'm not an idiot. I just wanted to be optimistic."
✰ Hearing you say that breaks his heart a little bit.
✰ "Hey, hey, don't cry," he mumbles, and brings up a hand to the side of your face. He feels absolutely awful—all he wants to do is help you and make sure you're prepared, and instead he's made you feel like he doesn't trust your judgement. "I didn't mean that, not the way that I said it."
✰ He's stroking your cheek and trying to stay calm, but he's sort of panicking on the inside, because he can tell that there's something deeper that he's struck on and he doesn't know how to approach it.
✰ "I know how hard you're trying, baby. I know you're taking your future seriously, and I don't think badly of you for being optimistic. I'm sorry, I just want things to go well for you."
✰ He's just as straightforward about comforting you as he is about everything else, and that really helps.
✰ When he sees that your eyes are still watering, he pulls you to his chest and holds you tight. He presses his lips to your forehead and holds you there for a moment.
✰ You're starting to feel better as he addresses some of the root of the problem, and you sink further into his hold. Iwa always gives the best hugs, and it's hard not to feel better when he's holding you so lovingly.
✰ "I'm so sorry if I've ever made you feel like I don't believe in you," he murmurs. You can tell in his voice that guilt is eating him alive.
✰ The two of you stand there like that, with Hajime holding you and whispering reassurances, and just trying to fix any damage he might have just done.
✰ In the aftermath of it happening, he'd be a little extra sweet, take you on a nice date and just try to make up for it, and give you more reminders of how amazing he thinks you are.
✰ He's extra affectionate that evening too, and holds you close as you both fall asleep, as if he's still trying to apologize in his own way.
✰ Long term though, I see him wanting to have another discussion about why you might have those insecurities, because the idea of you thinking that he sees you as anything less that brilliant kills him a little inside.
✰ He loves you so much, and going forward he's much more careful of how he says things, and you guys have a much healthier, much more communicative relationship.

✰ As much as we all love him, it's no secret that Tooru can be a little bit of a dick sometimes, even to people he cares about, and even when he doesn't mean to.
✰ He's really good at reading people on the court, but sometimes misses things when it comes to other people's emotions, especially subtle things.
✰ It's not that he doesn't care, but Oikawa is a hard worker who gets really caught up in his own routines and goals, which means he doesn't always stop and think about someone else's perspective.
✰ It happens over something that he sees as small, but something much more meaningful to you.
✰ You'd stayed up late preparing food last night, knowing that Tooru had an interview with a professional team the next day. You put a lot of effort into preparing a meal for him, wanting to give him a little extra motivation and support, even if you couldn't be there with him in person.
✰ It was a lot of cooking, but more than that, it was something that you had poured a lot of love into, and you were really proud to give it to him the next morning.
✰ "Sweetheart, I made you a bento last night to take with you; it's got all your favorites in it!"
✰ Tooru is shuffling around the apartment, finding his coat, keys, wallet, making sure he has everything he needs with him. He's preoccupied, and doesn't really stop to process what you've said.
✰ "That's okay, babe. I'm gonna eat out today," he calls as he gets to the front door. "I'll be home for dinner, love~!"
✰ And just like that, you hear the door shut, and Tooru is gone.
✰ You try not to feel too defeated, but the longer you stare at the tupperware on the counter and replay Oikawa's careless response in your head, the more frustrated you become.
✰ You'd stayed up all night just to make a stupid meal for him, and he didn't even say 'thank you' or 'sorry' for turning it down. Hell, you'd barely even gotten a goodbye out of him.
✰ You headed to work and tried to carry on with your day, trying to tell yourself not to overreact or be selfish. After all, it was a big day for him, and you were worrying about a stupid lunchbox.
✰ Trying to get over what had happened, you send Tooru a text at around lunchtime.
✰ hi love, how's it going so far?
✰ He didn't open it right away, but you assumed he was just busy, and didn't think anything of it.
✰ You finished your shift, and when you checked your phone. . . Nothing.
✰ Tooru was busy, yes, but he normally always found time to text you back. In fact, it was usually him blowing up your phone while you were at work.
✰ You just sighed and headed back to the apartment and decided to wait for him.
✰ By the time he got back, his dinner was cold and you had already eaten, and were now sitting on the sofa, watching reruns on TV.
✰ "There's my girl!" he chirps like nothing's the matter, and stops dead in his tracks when you cast him a cold stare over your shoulder before looking back at the TV.
✰ "Oh..." He sets his things down on the table and rubs the back of his neck, unsure of what to do. "I did something, didn't I?"
✰ "You think so?" you mutter, though you can't help but feel like you're reacting a bit too harshly. But even when the anger subsides, the hurt is still leftover, simmering.
✰ He slowly sits down next to you, and pokes your cheek, knowing full well that you're not in the mood. "C'mon," he chides, his voice light and playful even though he's clearly worried. "Are you gonna keep pouting or are you gonna tell me what's the matter?"
✰ You resist for a moment, but melt as he continues to stare at you. Finally, you groan and turn to face him. "This morning, Tooru. I spent hours last night making you that lunch, and you didn't even care. You barely said goodbye, and you didn't tell me you'd be home late tonight, either."
✰ "Ah... Crap."
✰ He's quiet for a minute, and you're not sure what he's thinking, and then you realize that he looks like he's about to cry. He starts apologizing profusely, and pulls you into a hug so tight that you think your lungs might have deflated.
✰ "I promise I'll eat everything you cook for the next million billion years! And I'll say goodbye to you every morning for the rest of forever!"
✰ You can't help but smile now. "Tooru, I don't think we'll be alive that lon-"
✰ "Don't say that! The rest of forever! Goodbye kisses!"
✰ Oikawa is nothing if not theatrical, but the emotion is genuine, and you're reminded why you love him so much.
✰ The rest of the night he might as well be glued to you because he literally does not leave your side. You're loading the dishwasher and he's hanging off of you like a giant whiny koala and kissing all over your face.
✰ And you know what, you love it :,)
