Something I wish more “trapped in a videogame” isekai-ish anime like SOA would do is talk about who the players are outside of the game, and just making deep and interesting characters to begin with. So heres my proposal: an anime like that with 5 main characters. 2 game reviewing brothers who are like a straight man wise guy comedy pair who have a gaming podcast together and probably a wall of funko pops. One of them is good at combat and physical challenges like platforming, the other is good at puzzle solving and predicting what the game will do based on his knowledge of game design. Another character is a really positive and cheerful streamer who’s finding it harder and harder to keep the character going since she has to be streaming 24/7 now. Another character is a bit darker and plays videogames to escape her terrible family situation and learns to love the group in this game like the family she never had. Maybe later on when they get closer to escaping she could try to stop them because she’s not ready to go back to her old life yet. And finally, the fifth character is a bumbling but good natured dad who just wanted to have something he could talk about with his kids and has no idea how games are supposed to work, but ends up finding creative ways of getting out of situations because of it. He would bring his dad energy into the game with him, becoming the heart of the team and encouraging teamwork. Before finding him, the group just kind of stayed together because it was convenient, but after the dad joins he encourages more teamwork and emotional openness, and opens the door for them to become close friends rather than just, “a group.” Please let me know what you think and if I should start writing down ideas for this.

Due to my new hyperfixation that is Outsiders and everything else POWcreations makes, they have now entered my AU/headcanon (this also works for Martyns canon from what I know, explained at the end)

How this came to be:

-Owen learned how to run games without Watchers help from scott, so he got Apo and they created Outsiders by themselves

-No Name was impressed by this and reached out saying they could help

-Owen and Apo agree as long as theyre still able to participate (like how Scott is able to compete in MCC), No Name agrees and makes them apprentices 

-Watchers still arent supposed to play any games themselves, but most groups nowadays ignore this rule for their apprentices 

-Bek said every watcher group has a name so they should have one too and came up with POWcreations

Explains:

-Tubbo thinking Owen was in charge of rats, Owen having to explain he’s not in “canon” (Rats)

-“telepathic communication” between Owen and Apo (Pirates)

-Owen and Apo constantly having to keep taking stuff from Tubbo because he broke rules (Pirates)

-Apo being a fucking COW because he was bored (Outsiders)

How it doesnt interfere with martyns lore:

-EVOLUTION watch martyn wherever they can (not on empires or hermitcraft as those are under Noxcrew and Hivemind’s jurisdiction)

-POW are very inexperienced and dont know all of the rules, they also dont know what to look for when it comes to other Watchers interfering

-POW also have no idea about anyone elses history with Watchers (other than Scott with Noxcrew) They dont know Martyn is being targeted, so they dont know to protect him

-EVOLUTION threw Martyn into Rats and Pirates because they knew they could get away with watching him without having to make a new game themselves

-No Name knows EVOLUTION is there but doesnt say anything as they dont want to get involved and EVOLUTION isnt hindering their work

I've realized that my mom isn't ever going to let me go on testosterone. This is obviously really shitty. I've decided that I'm finally gonna live my life for myself the way I've always dreamed of it being. I'm gonna try my best to finally stop constantly disassociating, and I'll finally go job hunting.

I obviously won't be able to go on T for 2 more years, but until then I can try to improvise. I've heard about trans guys growing facial hair pre T by using facial hair creams. I don't care about what my mom does about it at this point. I just wanna be myself. A few days ago she got pissed at me because the hair under my arms is long, and she threatened me saying that if I didn't shave it, she'd take my stuff. She's ridiculous. I'm sure she'll be SuRpRiSeD when I move to Europe and never come back.

Sorry. I just really needed somewhere to rant, and this is just something to motivate me a bit more.

I'd appreciate any advice that any of you have. Thanks for bearing with me here.

I wish we had more female characters like Eleanor Shellstrop. One of the most unlikable people you've ever met. Read a Buzzfeed article on most rude things you can do on a daily basis and decided to use that as a list of goals. Makes everyone's day worse just by being there. Dropped a margarita mix on the ground and tried to pick it up, only to get hit by a row of shopping carts which pushed her into the road where she was hit by a boner pill delivery truck, killing her instantly. Cannot keep a romantic partner despite being bisexual. Had a terrible childhood but will die before she gets therapy. Best employee at a scam company. Just the worst but also can't help but root for her to improve.

Absolute loser. Girl-failure. Bad at almost everything. Literally perfect female character.

it's incredible that tumblr fandom went from DESPERATELY trying to see ANY sort of queer love in the shows we liked, to having shows—high budget, well-made, interesting, mainstream shows staring known actors—that are ABOUT queer love. explicitly, without argument. and just ten years later.

i saw (and reblogged) a post about how GO, ofmd, and wwdits are the new superwholock and i havent stopped thinking about it. cuz i was there, i was in the trenches back in the day. i was there when the writers and actors made fun of us for seeing on screen chemistry and perfect stories to set up romances. they all humored us then shat on us and saw us as a joke. a bunch of weirdo faggy teens that don't think two men can just be friends.

and now look at us. we're seeing the on screen chemistry and it's REAL. it's ON PURPOSE. these ARE romantic stories about queer people. we're not projecting or have wishful thinking... it's TRUE!! it was written and directed and edited and acted that way in earnest. i will take NO SHIT regarding these shows and people's love for them.

and do you know WHY these shows are being made now? these well thought out, feels-real, non-pandering queer stories? it's BECAUSE OF WHAT WE DID ten+ years ago. a lot of queer media never got the green light to be made because execs don't think there's enough of an audience. that more people will dislike the gays than like them. and we've shown them that that's unequivocally untrue. the outcry we had for all those years, the reviews we left, the statements we made, the backlash, it gave show runners ammunition to say "hey. people will watch this. they will like it. let us make it."
