A brief tangent into AI music generation

Hi guys, this has nothing to do with... literally anything else I post here but I figure that I need to document this somewhere.

I like mashup music, the kind of stuff where one song is smashed into another one by people who know what they're doing. Here's an example:

Anyways I found a website called rave.dj, who purport to have a way to do this AI.

Great! I think. There's only so many people to make these, now I can get custom ones whenever I want!

The first result... did not go well.

That's... supposed to be a mashup of Echoes of Love, by the Pointer Sisters, and Waiting for a Star to Fall, by Boy Meets Girl. They're both very good songs, and could go together, if done right. That is not it.

So, as a test, I decide to try something: mashups are subjective by their very nature, but there is one that has an objectively correct version.

See, both the Pointer Sisters and The Doobie Brothers did versions of Echoes of Love, and wouldn't you know it, they toured together in 1979.

So we do actually have a formula for this:

"we talked about this.."

he only really manipulates/gaslights you when he's genuinely worried you may leave, (even if you aren't actually going to) he uses it as a way to make sure you stay.

for him, there is no stopping point unless knows 100% that you're gonna stay.

He will literally fall to his knees, and break down in (fake) tears in a public area and BEG you to stay with him.

He doesn't get embarrassed by it because he knows it's "necessary"

If an argument is getting too heated, he may bring up your ex-partner(s), or people you just went on dates with before you two got together, even if it didn't go any further than that. Especially if you didn't tell him about them previously.

Don't ask him how he knows about them, he'll immediately take that chance to shift the blame onto you, asking why you didn't tell him about them beforehand if you had told him about them earlier, he wouldn't have had to go digging to find out about them.

when he does that, It's really just him grasping for straws, usually in an attempt to change the subject.

If you couldn't already tell he's a smooth talker, not just in a manipulative way.

he is such a flirt, there's rarely a conversation between the two of you where he doesn't slip in a little flirting, whether you pick up on it or not.

Since we're on the topic of him being sneaky, he's a bit of a thief.. he'll steal your things and carry them with him whenever he leaves you for more than one day at a time.

If you collect little trinkets, you'll definitely have to buy a lot more of them because he'll steal them and hide them away in the glove compartment of his truck.

He doesn't steal with malicious intent, he'll return them eventually (except for the trinkets) he just feels like he needs something of yours, other than pictures to be close to you when he can't be, yk?

Something that smells like you, to remind him of what he has waiting for him at home.

Kind of like when you randomly catch a whiff of a nostalgic smell from your childhood, how it brings you peace, even if it's only for a second.

honestly, he's not very big on physical touch. he does enjoy having little intimate moments with you, like cuddling or playing with your hair, but other than that.. he's never one to initiate it. unless of course he really needs your touch.

Since Michael has the daytime off (although he sleeps most of the day, reasonably so from his late night shifts), he likes to spend his time with you!

Like watching scary movies!

Yeah..Michael is not so into scary movies. He will watch anything you pick that isn't too gory. He prefers to watch dramas or pg/pg-13 Halloween movies/tv shows.

So something simple like the Addams Family, Scooby-Doo, or something romantic like Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride, he would enjoy. "Scooby Dooby Doo, where are you? We got some work to do now!" You both would idiotically sing along, almost choking on popcorn.

Horror movies are just a bit too real when he is trying to enjoy his time away from the horrors already. He would much rather watch something you both can enjoy and cuddle on the couch to watch.

Would he like to carve pumpkins? Yes

Would Michael be good at it? No

While Michael would enjoy going to a local pumpkin patch (or more likely picking one out from the store) and picking out the perfect pumpkin and getting the special tools, he would not be good at carving.

Good carving takes practice. It's fair to say he didn't have the practice when he could carve. Meaning Michael remembers carving pumpkins with his dad and brother, but couldn't really carve.

As a teenager, Michael spent his Halloween out of the house at parties or 'pranking' other houses, he was out doing anything to stay away from home. When he moved out, he didn't go out of his way to celebrate the holiday. Maybe a bucket of candy outside and a decorative pumpkin but that was the extent.

But you were more than happy to teach Michael how to carve. Or perhaps both of you will learn together!

"Brains!" Michael groaned, imitating a zombie, holding a handful of pumpkin innards to your face. "Eww!" You laughed and slapped his hands away, making the innards splatter on both of your faces.

You would definitely have to physically help Michael carve a pumpkin. As much as he wouldn't like to admit he's weak, he's not afraid to ask for help getting around on his elbow crutches, getting up, eating, or other tasks, and you gladly help him with an exchange of a kiss. Your body hugged around Michael's back as he leaned forward on the counter, your arms slithered around his waist while your hands rested on top of his to help steady the knife on a pumpkin you deemed perfect. The cuts were jagged and uneven, but perfect, perfect in your eyes.

In which Peter nearly gets killed because he's a dumba** so you do a lot of screaming at him.

Warnings: swearing (whaa ikr?) Injury, insult to injury, Rocket being himself, Peter being an idiot (aka himself) mebbe some slight foreshadowing for vol. 3 but it ain't a spoiler if you don't think too much about it.

"Rocket, where's Peter?" You gasped.

In your glorious retreat back to the Bowie, you'd lost him in the chaos that he caused. How does the idea of stealing a heavily secured antique piece of junk sound now?

"He had to go and get the damn Zune he dropped in the hallway of that security station."

"He told me he was down to one blaster!?" You shrieked, realizing that this was not, in fact, going well.

"And he's the lazy asshole who didn't charge them up!"

"You didn't think to, I dunno, COVER HIM?" You flapped your arms in disbelief.

"Hell no, you're the girlfriend!." The insufferable Raccoon snarled. "If you wanna go get Star munch, he's all yours missy."

You muttered under your breath as you turned to go get your boyfriend. "That stupid Zune is gonna be the death of him someday I swear. Thanks a lot, Yondu."

You readied your blaster and dodged bullets in the space between the ship and aforementioned security station, before kicking the door open to find an incredibly absurd sight.

The Doobie Brother's 'What a Fool Believes' blasted from the ridiculous object he went back for, as he was trying in vain to fight off the security droids. Sighing, you stepped in and blasted to your heart's delight, until the two of you (or, mostly you) successfully eradicated the rest of them.

"Thanks, babe." Peter offered a sheepish smile and you just rolled your eyes in frustration.

"Let's go before these guys blow a freaking hole in our ship!" You growled.

His eyes widened and the smile dropped. "Ohh ok yeah you're like really mad."

Once again you we're crossing the distance back to the ship, only this time, you didn't dodge one of the bullets as it lodged itself in your calf. You were already frustrated beyond rational capacity, and physical pain just added insult to injury. But you were too hyped up on adrenaline to care. Tumbling into the ship, Peter in tow, you sat down and glared.

He wasn't sure whether to apologize or leave you be, when he noticed your leg trembling. That's when your world went fuzzy and you sorta just, checked out of reality while somehow staying conscious.

"Shit! I need a med pack and a pair of tweezers." He hollered for anyone in earshot as the ship lifted off and set out for Knowhere. Soon, the bullet was pulled out of your leg and the med pack placed over the hole.

And this...this, is where you snapped back to reality.

"You asshole!" You screamed, "You could've gotten yourself killed!"

Kraglin, who had brought the medical supplies, just cringed and stepped away, leaving you two alone.

"I'm sorry, y/n..."

"Sometimes I feel like that stupid thing is more important than any of us!"

You regretted the statement as soon as it left your mouth. The Walkman was one of the only things he had left of his younger years, and when his father had destroyed that, the Zune was all he had left of Yondu.

His eyes fell and your heart broke. He moved to stand up, but you stopped him.

The One With Cecelia's Special Brownies (Rhett Abbott x Reader)

Summary: You and Rhett love your cat, Garfield, to death but he gets into everything

"Aw perfect," Cecelia said, inhaling the smell of the fresh brownies that had been pulled from the oven. She set it on the back burner to cool off, grabbing the broom from the kitchen closet to sweep up the small dustings of flour that had gotten on the floor, when a loud meow caught her attention.

"Damnit cat!" she exclaimed. "C'mon get outta here."

She nudged Garfield, the orange tabby cat with the broom but he refused to move, having just plopped himself right on the mess she was about to clean up. No matter how hard she nudged him with the broom, Garfield refused to move and kept meowing at her.

"Rhett!"

"Sup Ma?" he called from the living room.

"Fat ass parked himself in the kitchen again."

Rhett laughed and nudged Garfield with his toe. "Alright dumbass, up.....c'mon, stop botherin Ma when she's gotta clean up."

Garfield gave him a cheeky little meow before he finally moved, slinking off to go and catch whatever house pest was sure to catch his attention.

"Oh he'll listen to you but not me?" Cecelia chuckled. "Thanks I feel so loved."

"You are Ma," Rhett replied, hugging his mother. "Don't worry, (y/n) and I love ya'll and so doesn't Dad."

He made his way back into the living room where you were still laid up on the couch with a bad cold, your nose stuffier than ever and your top lip burning from how much you had been blowing your nose.

"Feelin ok sweetheart?" Rhett asked.

"Still feel like I've got the plague," you croaked. "I think I caught it from one of my fifth graders."

Rhett kissed your forehead and pulled you in so you could rest against him. "Just that time of the year darlin," he said. "Bet ya'll ten to nothin it was......"

"Cody Campbell?"

"Yep," Rhett chuckled. "Came to get your kiddos for the woodworkin class and he was snortin back his snot all the way to the practical arts building."

You cringed at the memory, one hundred percent sure that the ghastly illness would be raging throughout the Amelia County Steiner School like wildfire.

"Um......." you heard Cecelia's voice from the kitchen. "Rhett?"

"Yeah Ma?"

"Who got into the brownies?"

You and Rhett shook your heads. "Wasn't us Ma," he answered. "Why what's wrong?"

"Those weren't supposed to be eaten," she answered, the panic evident in her voice.

"Why?"

"Your father and I were saving those for the Zac Brown concert next week."

You and Rhett gave each other a look, the realization hitting you a split second later. "Uh oh," you squeaked.

"Did Dad eat one?" Rhett asked her.

His question was answered when the door creaked open and Royal came traipsing into the house, wiping his muddy boots on the doormat before sticking them on the boot rack. "Hey what smells good?" he asked.

"So if it wasn't Dad that got into'em then who did?" Rhett wondered aloud.

"What?" Royal asked. "Who got into what?"

Cecelia bit her lower lip, balling her fist as she pressed it to her mouth to keep from speaking another word.

"What'd you do woman?" Royal asked her.

"I didn't do shit Roy."

"Sugar bear, I know that look and it ain't good," he said. "Now what'd ya'll do?"

Garfield came around the corner, stumbling and meowing with the cheekiest grin on his face, his tail swishing in the air as he plopped himself right on the living room rug. Rhett snorted and Royal started laughing.

"Oh my God," Cecelia groaned.

"This remind ya'll of anything?" Royal laughed.

"Yeah reminds me of that time you, me, John and Evelyn went to a Doobie Brothers concert and I had to drive ya'll home because ya'll got blacked out high from the brownies," Cecelia told him.

You and Rhett had a good laugh on the matter, teasing Garfield until his high finally wore off later that night and making a note that should Cecelia ever make her special brownies again, to put them in the back of the fridge.

The Ink Demonth 2023 - Day 6. Machine

Day 6. Machine Crossover: Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? (and later series) "Scooby-Dooby-Doo, where are you? We got some work to do now. Scooby-Dooby-Doo, where are you? We need some help from you now." I cannot wait for the scene when they take Sammy's mask off :3 I'd watch an episode like that. Btw. in case anyone is wondering, Shaggy checks whether bacon soups are 20 or 50 years after expired, because it depends on whether he decides to heat them before eating or not :D

Am I a fan of Scooby-Doo? Well... yes and no. As a little kid, I loved the show, I even had VHS tapes of the episodes... But then my lil brother got hooked on it and watched it so obsessively that I hated the whole show (especially since his favourite was that damn Scrapy-Doo, so he was tormenting me episodes with him, and Scooby-Doom, the other son of the b*ch, which I hate). However, I still enjoyed the full-length movies, and to this day I still enjoy watching some of them (for example: "Scooby-Doo! and the Reluctant Werewolf" or "Scooby-Doo! in Where's My Mummy?..." by the way, the former was made in the year of my birth, so he's older than me, yay!) But then came the era of weird Scooby-Doo series that delighted me again and stole my heart, like "Shaggy & Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!", "Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated" or crazy one  "Be Cool, Scooby-Doo!" (I love self-ironical, self-parodying shows). So... yeah, I guess I'm a Scooby Doo fan now. What's more, I will now say something that will probably make some people hate me: I like the "scandalous" show "Velma". Uuuu! Everyone will stop following me now, what a drama.

I have to admit that I had fun - although it was probably one of the most difficult Ink Demonths so far (counting the future ones I've already drawn). Scooby-Doo is damn hard to draw, because he has very caricatured features while having quite a dog's build, and when broken down into simple shapes, he's... just plain ugly to draw. Shaggy was a bit of a challenge, but it was a real pleasure to draw Velma. By the way, these two are my favourite characters - and I ship them in their youth (in their mature life, I prefer Shaggy with that cool alien from one of the movies). I used, of course, the background from BATIM - and choosing the right one and then framing it the best took me a lot of time and frustration too. I originally wanted a setting from the first chapter, but nothing looked right with the characters on it. I finally made it to the second chapter - and I think it turned out really nice. However, I am extremely proud of how cans turned out, the expiration date of which is checked by Shaggy.

If anyone doesn't understand why this entry is for "machine" theme, let me remind you that the Gang drove a cool, colourful van called... that's right! The Mystery Machine! If you didn't know that, you can't consider yourself a Scooby-Doo fan :D
