So I'm making this post because I saw a YouTube video the other day where the YouTuber made an offhand comment poking fun at people who don't think Chara is evil, and that was enough to annoy me, but also, it inadvertently brought up a good point for me personally.
I was originally firmly in the camp that Chara was maybe not the best person, but they weren't evil, and the Genocide route is an outlier, and I was upset because I didn't feel like they were considering any of the other routes at all (which they weren't), but it made me realize I was also completely discounting the Genocide route, and I can't just do that for the sake of an easier analysis because it's there for a reason. And I certainly can't get mad at this person for doing the exact same thing I was doing. So here is a hopefully as objective of an analysis of Chara as whole as I can get.
At first I tried marrying the two versions of Chara that we see in the game: the traumatized and suicidal child who wanted to sacrifice themself for the sake of freeing monsterkind and getting revenge on humanity which left them hurt on a fundamental level and wasn't really the best to Asriel, probably because they still hadn't unlearned mimicking the way they were treated and then never got the chance to, with the kid who actively encouraged the slaughter of all of the monsters in the Underground and then destroyed the world after killing Frisk themself and seeing what the connection was. And to be honest, I didn't really find anything.
Then I started thinking about Frisk instead because it was late and I couldn't keep my focus, but that turned out to be really helpful because, while Frisk is a player stand in most of the time despite being revealed to be their own person, there are things that they do by themself, either implicitly or explicitly, and if you try to analyze them to figure out what kind of person they are, you also get two wildly contradicting versions of them. And which version you get is entirely dependent on how you choose to play the game.
Because your choices have a lot of weight to determining what happens in the game, not only does it affect which ending you get, but it also effects how you get there and how you choose to tell the story. You get to choose what kind of story you want, and with that choice comes whatever characterization of Frisk would fit the most for whatever you are doing.
If you play pacifist or neutral without starting off with a genocide, when you first encounter Sans, it's implied Frisk laughs or at least has some sort of reaction, no matter how many neutral runs you have done without true resetting beforehand. Frisk sits through and humors Papyrus in all of his puzzles and japes even if they've heard the same joke or solved the same puzzle a thousand times beforehand. Mettaton comments on them looking bored at the beginning of the musical if it's not your first playthrough after true resetting, and he gives you the option to skip it, but he doesn't say Frisk looks hostile or anything, and in the fight against him, you have the option of just calmly flipping his switch to just get the fight over with. Sans implies either Frisk looks like they're really thinking about what they did on a first neutral run or they look bored and not particularly bothered in subsequent runs after that unless you do pacifist which he then comments on the fact that they were exceptionally kind to everyone and even when they ran away, they were smiling the whole time.
But if you do a genocide run or start off with a genocide run, Frisk doesn't react at all to Sans' handshake joke, they don't sit through any of the puzzles Papyrus has and they don't acknowledge him at all, they give you the option to just keep taking and taking snowman pieces until the snowman is dead, and they move on their own to walk toward whichever area boss you're up to at the time in a threatening manner and even move toward Monster Kid on their own to intimidate them. They're really into the killing people thing in these routes while in the other routes, they're a lot more into engaging with people or at least giving you a better prompt of being willing to spare them.
So if it's true that Frisk has wildly different personalities and goals depending on how you play the game, it must be true with Chara too. For the majority of the time, Chara was just a kid who loved monsters and loved their family and felt extremely guilty for accidentally poisoning their dad and didn't know how to handle it and probably guilty and unworthy of their love because they were human and weren't used to receiving that kind of care in the first place. But if you choose to play the game where another human who falls down and decides to kill as many monsters as possible, Chara will be another human who hates monsters, or at least, grew to hate monsters and was only concerned with getting more and more power as they woke up because that's the thematically appropriate characterization of them for that route and way of playing.
So they're both not evil and evil, but which one you get is entirely dependent on you.

I once wondered if a crossover of undertale and mortasheen do exist, how it would work. So was thinking about the main character... and begin to design them
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Frisk: From the wraith civilisation. They have fallen from on a damaged celestial engin Toriel: a difformed goat like mutant, quickly took frisk as one of her many lost lambs and take care of them even if they are unwilling and fleeing her clutch Sans: Mysterious weirdo who is able to do weird spatio-temporal stuff. Maybe not a 'skeleton' after all Papyrus: Sans ''brother'' gullible and can be even befriended but technically a dangerous killing machine Undyne: A vampiric merfolk knight. Patrol the blood cavern in search of intruder Alphys: You average run of the mile mad scientist but darker than the original undertale (not as edgy as underfail but something that rhyme with a poor grasp of what can be considered ethical and no remorse) Napstablook: (ghost and spiritual thing aren't technically canon in mortasheen, but the definition of science in the setting was already stretchy) A psychic manifestation of a deceased person.. Temmy: A experimental mistake who were thrown in a dump. It have spred and build a small "town'' in here Mettaton: pretty much the same as his undertale version but more biopunk(ir: a brain in a machine) Asgore: A powerful but fair darklord that control his small empire with a firm hand. Hate the wraith for some reason flowey/Asriel: The son of toriel and asgore, he received occult experiment on him to help them fight the wraith resulting in the birth of ''flowey'' Flowey is full of resent about what his ''parent did and want the whole world burn Muffet: just your average muffet but a lot bigger
Further oddity of the AU
-The respawn system isn't based on determination. But on cloning. They're some cloning machine spread everywhere on the city, you just need a DNA sample and a clone is spawn when you die (the pacifist/genocide route will be very different or even a complety different nature if their no permadeath) -Frisk didn't receive a phone from toriel but some kind of goat headed worm that she detached from her body. Frisk will wear the creature on their back as it will serve as a some sort of spiritual guide
How the AU can work and some specific story point Undertale AU usually copy the term and story of the original even if it contradictory. (the best exemple is underfail/horrortale who just use the same plot point but try to make it edgier sometime it just dosen't work or barely make any sense) Some plot point may be kept but he whole story and it nature may be changed.. Like rather to kill or not to kill system. It more of a keep your humanity system (rather than the genocide route it the extremly hard YOLO route, no save(cloning) to achieve it -There some rivalery with the wraith and underworld -The celestial machine have weapon of mass destruction -Asgore tried in vain to defeat them -A ''un-exister'' kind of device lie somewhere in the world. It own reality is hotly debated. Sans seem to be aware of it existence -Nobody can truly ''die''(not impossible but vaporising a poor mofo who didn't have any cloning data seem to be the only normal way to permakill) but they will be still pretty pissed if you kill them -frisk wasn't the only member of the wraith who have fallen -Frisk have something inside them, so that why asgore is addement to retrieve it dead body something necessary to build a super weapon -On the main reason why everyone want to take frisk, is they are a ''genetically pure'' human -the amalgate are failed alphys experiment. Some kidnapped human something something involving soul and true immortality (chara vs frisk is kinda murky here, maybe chara itself is just some AI generated tough of wiping clean the earth of all ''evil'') may elaborate later when I will get idea...

GLITZ AND GLAMOR [CHAPTER 11]
The Cooking Show
Tumblr media
Before you left Alphys's lab, she gave you a new phone.
Because the one Toriel gave you was "too ancient".
And now you were on the underground's 1# social network.
The Undernet.
After you left her lab, you were constantly getting notified whenever Alphys posted something.
Everytime she posted, it was about how she's supposed to be guiding you.
Maybe she forgot she put you on.
After completing some minor puzzles and fighting a few monsters, you wound up in a dark room.
Then Alphys called you.
"H-Hey...it's pretty dark in there, isn't it? D-Don't worry! I'll hack into the system a-and turn on the lights!"
The lights turned on a few seconds later and you appeared to be in a kitchen.
"Oh no." Alphys said.
Soon, Mettaton wheeled into veiw wearing a chef hat on top of his..."head".
"OHHHHH YES! WELCOME, BEAUTIES, TO THE UNDERGROUND'S PREMIERE COOKING SHOW!!!"
A sparkley pink text appeared on the screen above the makeshift kitchen, reading: "Cooking with a killer robot".
"PRE-HEAT YOUR OVENS, BECAUSE WE'VE GOT A VERY SPECIAL RECIPE FOR YOU TODAY! WE'RE GOING TO BE MAKING..."
"A CAKE!"
"How...special." You mumbled quietly to yourself.
Mettaton seemed to have heard what you said and wheeled closer to you.
"MY LOVELY ASSISTANT HERE WILL GATHER THE INGREDIENTS. GIVE HER A BIG ROUND OF APPLAUSE!"
Mettaton clapped as more confetti rained down on you.
"WE'LL NEED SUGAR, MILK, AND EGGS. GO FOR IT, SWEETHEART."
You gave Mettaton a side eye as you moved to the fridge.
You were about to open it until Mettaton said something.
"WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THE INGREDIENTS AREN'T IN THERE, THEY WOULD GET COLD!"
You decided it would be best to not argue with a robot, especially if that robot was like Mettaton.
You turned your head and saw all the ingredients waiting for you on the counter.
You picked them all up and set them on the counter Mettaton was standing in front of.
"PERFECT! GREAT JOB, BEAUTIFUL! WE'VE GOT ALL THE INGREDIENTS WE NEED TO BAKE THE CAKE!"
"MILK...SUGAR...EGGS...OH MY! WAIT A MAGNIFICENT MOMENT! HOW COULD I FORGET!!! WE'RE MISSING THE MOST IMPORTANT INGREDIENT!"
Mettaton then whipped out a chainsaw.
You stared at him horrified, but you were too scared to even move.
"A HUMAN SOUL!!!!"
Mettaton then wheeled towards you and raised the saw above his head.
You cowered up into a little ball on the floor.
But a phone call, from your phone, interrupted Mettaton before he could strike you.
He pulled the phone out of your pocket and answered it.
Why?
No one knows.
"HELLO...? I'M KIND OF IN THE MIDDLE OF SOMETHING HERE."
You couldn't hear who was on the other end of the receiver, but you assumed it was Alphys.
"A SUBSTITUTION? YOU MEAN, USE A DIFFERNT, NON-HUMAN, INGREDIENT?"
Mettaton gave you a quick "glance" before turning away again.
"...WHY?"
As the other person (who was probably Alphys) was talking on the phone, Mettaton was playing with the little cord on the chainsaw that starts it up.
But he stopped, suddenly.
"...VEGAN."
He stood still for a few seconds before then suddenly tossed the phone back to you.
"THAT'S A BRILLIANT IDEA DOCTOR ALPHYS!! ACTUALLY, I HAPPEN TO HAVE AN OPTION RIGHT HERE!!! MTT-BRAND ALWAYS-CONVENIENT HUMAN-SOUL-FLAVOR-SUBSTITUTE!"
Mettaton gestured to a can with a red heart on it nearby.
"A CAN OF WHICH...IS JUST OVER ON THE COUNTER!"
He then put the chainsaw away under the counter and turned to you.
"WELL, DARLING? WHY DON'T YOU GO GET IT?"
You side eyed Mettaton again as you walked over to the counter.
But before you grabbed it, the counter shot up into the air and raised at remarkable speed.
"BY THE WAY." Mettaton said directly behind you, which caused you to jump and snap towards him.
"OUR SHOW RUNS ON A STRICT SCHEDULE. IF YOU CAN'T GET THE CAN IN THE NEXT ONE MINUTE... WE'LL JUST HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE ORIGINAL PLAN!!!"
"SO...BETTER START CLIMBING, BEAUTIFUL!" Mettaton said before rolling back over to the ingredients.
"Oh no!!!" Alphys said, who was still on the phone for some reason. "There's not enough time to climb up! F-F-Fortunately, I might have a plan!"
"When I was upgrading your phone, I added a few...features. See that large button that says: JETPACK? Watch this!"
You pressed the jetpack button on your phone and your phone then turned into a jetpack using all sorts of weird mechanical bits.
"Woah, transformer style!" You said as you put the jetpack on.
"There!" Alphys said, her voice coming out of a speaker from the jetpack. "You should have just enough fuel to reach the top! Now, get up there!!!"
The jetpack started to fly and you starting flying to the top.
However, Mettaton was flying as well, and carried the ingredients with him.
As you flew up, Mettaton threw the ingredients at you, trying to slow you down.
However, he failed, and you reached the top within the time limit regardless.
"MY, MY..." Mettaton said as you reached the top. "IT SEEMS YOU'VE BESTED ME. BUT ONLY BECAUSE YOU HAD THE HELP OF THE BRILLIANT DOCTOR ALPHYS!"
Mettaton put his hand on his forehead dramatically. "OH, I LOATHE TO THINK ABOUT WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED TO YOU WITHOUT HER!!!"
"WELL, TOODLES!"
Mettaton flew away again as the cameras cut and you were lowered to the ground by the jetpack.
After you landed, you pressed the jetpack button again and it detransformed back into a cell phone.
"What about the substitution?" You asked.
Mettaton flew in again. "HAVEN'T YOU SEEN A COOKING SHOW BEFORE? THE CAKE IS ALREADY MADE, DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT!"
Then he flew away, again.
"We...we did it!" Alphys said. "Wow! We really did it!"
"That was actually pretty cool how the phone turned into a jetpack, Alphys. That's insanely cool!"
You heard Alphys let out a nerdy giggle. "Aww thank you."
"Let's keep heading forward, okay?" She said before she hung up.
[Hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for more and have a good day]

Welcome to the world of Underjumble!
I've never really been a fan of most swap aus, because it always just felt like a retexture to me. Yes, they have a different look and name, but I like swap aus where the characters aren't just character A 2.0 but also that they're a different enough character. So here's a dumb little au of my own! Each character's personality is not only or mainly the character they replace are, and I'm hoping I made them rather in character. This does not mean that the characters will always be 100% canon compliant ofc, they're still somewhat different. idk how to describe it ;-;
Don't have any sketches at the moment, but here's some explaining! I have a lot of little bits of world building that's small things that I'd love to share :)
Sans!
The backstory stays mostly the same, but some boss monsters, afraid for their life, sided with humans. They were granted in because the more the better. After that, though, they were outcasted and were seen as unequal. Although, some reproduced with humans, giving a breed. Most look like normal humans or monsters, but they have certain qualities and they're different enough for both of the races to be able to absorb their souls. Sans is like monsters, but his soul lasts for a little while. He has a very unhappy past and has some problems with emotions and lashing out. He deeply regrets a lot of his actions, but he can't fix it now. He is 12 and his au nickname is Wisp. I can't remember where I got that.
Unrelated to Wisp, but if you have any suggestions for any nicknames or changing it, feel free to shoot an ask! You can also use different nicknames for people but I'd like to know first so I can understand ^^
Papyrus/Doggo!
Papyrus takes the place of Asriel/Flowey! In present instead of a flower he is a dog plush, and the eyes were cracked by being dropped on when he was still alive. He's also color blind like an actual dog, leaving him with subpar vision. With this and the fact Frisk hunches over with their hood on, Doggo mistakes them for Sans. He has a resentment of being coddled and treated like a baby from Sans (who does have a reason, but Doggo doesn't know that. He's not mad at Sans though.) He believes Sans is upset at him for being weak for not continuing the plan. He's 9 mentally, and his au nickname is Angeco. It was originally a mix of French words, but I realized that I chose the parts that are exactly like the English version. It's a mash of ange corrompu, or corrupted angel.
Asriel!
Asriel takes the place of Toriel! Asriel is an adult. He is not a father to Sans and Papyrus, but is the King's past advisor. He was really good with the kids, though, leaving him their babysitter a couple of times. He doesn't hold as much hatred to Gaster as Toriel does to Asgore. Asriel tried to reason with him, but after realizing nothing would work, they went their separate ways. Asriel does not like Gaster due to his decisions, but he's not as brutal to Gaster as Toriel is to Asgore.
Xakial is his au nickname, a misspelling of Zadkiel, the angel of mercy.
Napstablook!
Napstablook takes Sans' place! They aren't lazy or really as aware as Sans is. Instead, they're kinda jumpy and scared, which is why they're not the best person to post at a station.
They are better at keeping their promise than Sans. They try to help you throughout it but are too afraid for combat. They met Asriel through venting to the door.
They are the final boss of the genocide route, but don't like it and realizes they have to do it because of how they don't want you to hurt anyone else. You keep attacking and attacking but you don't hit them, until the final hit where Sans takes control. They blurrily know that you can go back in time, and thinks they can stop you because physical attacks can't hurt them, but know not too much other than that.
Valuar is their au nickname. It's a mash of valu pisarad, which means tears of pain
Mettaton!
Mettaton takes Papyrus' place. He wants everyone to idolize him and doesn't really care about the royal guard in any other sense, and is less selfless than Papyrus. However, there are still moments where he shines and shows care and love for others, despite being mostly self absorbed.
Maddie!
Maddie takes Gaster's place. She was a mad scientist type where she just fucked around and found out. She isn't too serious of a character lol. She follows around Frisk sometimes but mostly hangs out with her cousins while making crude jokes although they can't see her. She does miss being with her family sometimes though, and would do anything to be able to interact with them. Au nickname is Madcie, based off her name and mad scientist.
Chara!
Chara takes the place of Undyne! Like Sans, they are one of the very few human monster hybrids. Their soul would shatter quickly, so there's no reason for them to be slain. This brings them a bit more self hatred, that they aren't able to give their soul. They don't know what happened to Asriel, and misses him. It has katana magic, and has some muscle with some scars. In the genocide route, their eyes and mouth get gooey to show that the magic side of them is unable to handle the determination. As you defeat them, their magic becomes melted.
Au name is Lehanial (Perennial, a yellow flower, + Lehanii, a tribute to a friend)
Asgore!
Asgore takes the place of Maddie. He's just a sad little dude who takes care of the flowers in Waterfall. He's an optional fight, as he will only fight you if you nag him. He won't try to kill you. There are two ways to end the battle. Kill him, or wait until Napstablook finds you and gains the courage to tell him to leave you alone (He wasn't really looking to fight and thought you wanted it just as a game, but Blooky doesn't know that)
Toriel!
Toriel takes the place of Alphys! She and Chara are in a rocky relationship because Toriel doesn't agree with the violent approach. Chara argued it was the only way that lead Toriel to try the true lab. They miss each other but believe the other is angry, which Frisk has to make them come together again in true pacifist.
She's also why Asriel and Chara have such high rankings, because she knew Gaster and thus Gaster knew that the two were qualified from them meeting a lot.
Alphys!
Alphys takes the place of Napstablook. She's shy and wants to be your friend, but is scared of annoying you. She looks up to Undyne, they were once friends (well. Crushing on each other) before Undyne got famous. Undyne planned on coming back but always got caught up and was under a lot of stress. Alphys keeps watching and coming to her stuff, hoping to get her attention.
Undyne!
Undyne takes Mettaton's place! Toriel got her a boost in success due to her status and being well known. Undyne believes in Justice and isn't super self absorbed like Mettaton. She always planned on coming back to Alphys but she got juggled in all her work that she lost sight of what was important. She's a celebrity, but doesn't do shows like Mettaton, instead being more known for fighting.
Gaster!
Gaster takes Asgore's place. He isn't as heartbroken over hurting humans, but he doesn't enjoy it. To him, it's a necessary sacrifice. He holds no hate to the human children, seeing it as professional.
These aren't the only ones switched but they're the main and I've gone long enough FUGKXGIDYIDYID-

An Undertale Au I made
Hello. Welcome to the Undertale au I thought of last night at approximately 3am.
I’m calling it Undervoid, since Voidtale has been taken!
Undervoid is an AU where, after a series of genocide routes, something changes. The thing that changes is that the Core is now incredibly unstable and it officially blows up before Frisk (Who was running a Pacifist Route at the time) could do anything about it.
It decimates everything. Due to the volume of the explosion, it tears a rift in the void and the void literally swallows everything.
Player resets.
But instead, a new person falls down.
Now they’re thrown into a world where they’re constantly on the run from Void monsters- Gaster Blasters, Dragons, Fucked up sludge-Goat monsters.
And they meet a new Sans (It’s all from Void!Sans perspective). He’s aloof, unlike the original Sans and holds a strong dislike for Frisk. He also has a long whip-like tail that he keeps coiled around his leg when he’s not attacking. He also has horns. The void has literally changed his appearance and he is extremely bitter towards Frisk, who tries her best to apologise.
He completely ignores her.
Frisk gets sad, dies, and tries to reset.
She finds that instead of ‘RESET’, it’s a button that simply says; ‘CONTINUE.’
When she touches it, she’s promptly dragged back into her body as her soul pieces itself back together.
Papyrus is still trying his best to be good and provide shelter and homes for everyone.
Undyne is still Captain of the royal guard, but she also takes on the responsibility of guarding the kingdom against the Void monsters.
Toriel has formed an uneasy alliance with Asgore, but she refuses to stay in the palace. Instead, she works on providing what food they can find in the void to feed to the people.
Asgore now needs fourteen human souls to ‘break the barrier’ of the void back to society.
They have thirteen souls so far.
Alphys is trying to find a way to break the barrier through science.
Mettaton is still no longer a star, but instead takes care of the wounded and sick.
There’s places where Sans travels where he can see the barrier thinning to the point where he can view outwards and towards society (Where the other Sanses are currently- the Surface, which they call ‘Reality’)
Void!Sans is capable of sending his consciousness out to the other AU’s, in which his physical body is ‘asleep’ in his AU. His consciousness is fully tangible but remains to have that samed dull look as he does in his au. Shadows and light also doesn’t work on him, and he can’t feel anything like water or sunlight, even if his body is manipulating the water to make it look as if he’s touching it. He also doesn’t have a shadow.
UV(Undervoid)!Sans
Void!Sans is a 193cm male Void-skeleton monster with two horns and a 2 metre, whip-like tail that is very similar to a spine in it’s looks. Both his horns and tail have a black gradient, which matches his hands (which are pure ebony) and lower arms (where it starts to fade.) Both of his irises as a norm are indigo-coloured. One disappears and the other iris flashes vibrant indigo and blood orange. (Courage and Animosity) He has a crack in his jaw that runs up to his nose bridge. He got this when some flying debris hit him when the Core exploded.
He’s an aloof version of Sans that generally keeps a very neutral expression on his face. His emotions are extremely hard to decipher as he’s become extremely guarded and he has no thoughts of self-preservation. He’s just… done.
However, once you know him, he also becomes extremely mischevious and a massive prankster.
UV!Papyrus
Void!Papyrus is easily still freakishly tall (Even taller than before). He wears actual armour now- Red, gold and black, as are the colours of the kingdom. His features are a bit sharper, yes, and his eyes are more tired, but he continues with his cheery disposition and tries to make everything lighter.
UV!Undyne
Void!Undyne is a bit more laid-back than she used to be. Or, rather, is more tired than she used to be. Her hair is a darker shade of red and her scales don’t carry the same vibrant colours. She, too, has void markings over her hands and ears.
UV!Frisk
Void!Frisk- a traumatised person that flinches away from any sort of contact. They’re covered in void markings- humans were never meant to survive in the void- and their soul is severely cracked from the amount of times they’ve ‘CONTINUED’ after dying.
UV!Alphys
Void!Alphys has a few void markings- along with quite a few more scars. She’s still shy, but again, is often quite exhausted. Her scales are duller, and she’s more focused on figuring out a way out of the barrier. She and Undyne are still in love.
UV!Asgore
Void!Asgore is an exhausted, kind man who is fighting to keep society running at all costs. He is less kind to humans and is very often on the verge of collapsing all together, scumbing to the void.
UV!Toriel
Void!Toriel is a tired but still very loving monster who has devoted her life to help and save the people. She’s quite strict when it comes down to rationing out food, but not unkind. She knows what everyone needs to survive, and will give them that amount.
UV!Mettaton
Void!Mettaton is less flashy, but still talks the same. He and Papyrus are the only two that try to keep things light. His body is well-oiled, but still quite a bit duller.
UV!Muffet
UV!Muffet is always trying to put smiles on people’s faces and goes around providing food for the rest of society. Like the others, her colour is dulled down a bit, but she’s always willing to help out. (It’s also Canon that she treats Void!Sans like a son because of how he cares for any spiders he finds.)
UV!Grillby
Void!Grillby is often scorned at by society. His flames tend to change colour every now and then, depending on his emotions. However, they’re dulled down a bit. But he still tries his best and is no longer running a bar, but battles and also takes care of food rations.
UV!Burgerpants
Void!Burgerpants is a heavily-traumatised character that still tries to look on the best side of things, despite the fact he’s been diagnosed with severe deppression.
...
Yes, Void!Sans, which quite literally goes by Void, is a thing now.
Void!Papyrus goes by Umber, which was a nickname given to him by Stretch when Umber didn’t know what to call himself.
He’s very cool and funny in my opinion.
He also has a massive collection of spiders that chill on his roof in his room but are mostly venomous.
Yeah! So that’s Undervoid!
Random Canon stuff
- Void’s stomach is a literal pit of emptiness, so he can inhale proportionately impossible things because his mouth acts like a vaccum. Like houses. Or Cruise ships. He also doesn’t need to eat/inhale edible food, as his body sucks up the power of the people’s magic around him.

so i made another au.........
this ones a roleswitch one
character-role they take
flowey-papyrus
papyrus-sans
sans-toriel
toriel-napstablook
napstablook-mettaton
mettaton-alphys
alphys-asriel
undyne and chara swap
asgore stays the same
frisk tries to help out everyone but i mostly metta's lab assistant
everyone else gets minor design and maybe personality changes
story:
once upon a time, two races ruled over earth, humans and monsters. one day, war broke between the two races. the humans were victorious and they sealed the monsters underground. they say that those who climb mt. ebott never come back. that is because they fall into the underground. monsters don't feel any resentment towards humans, though. no, they welcome every human with joy. humans are very treasured in the underground. in fact, the current leader of the royal guard is a human. but that's a different story. if you'd like, i could tell you...
long ago, the two kings lived together happily with their two best friends. it was all so fun and amazing. until one day, both of thee kings' friends got sick. they did all they could to try to save them, but with one of the two being the royal scientist and the best and one of the only doctors of the underground, it was almost impossible. ultimately, the two died, and the underground seemed much quieter and sadder. but life goes on, and even if you miss the ones lost, you must always remember the good times with a smile and don't get caught up in the past. alright kid, it was nice talkin' to ya, but i gotta get going. kingly duties y'know?
(the introduction is narrated by sans ^)
stuff abt the characters:
this au is mostly for fluff tbh
let's begin by talking about the two idiots that live in snowdin.
so flowey and paps are two best friends and roommates who cause chaos in snowdin town. paps hasn't changed much, besides being much more laid back when it comes most stuff and being a bit less childish. on the other side, flowey is more childish than before, but is still the same chaotic little flower who wants to see the world burn (but he doesn't really wish death upon anyone unless they deserve it). he was never asriel, he was born a flower monster. also these two have very obvious crushes on each other but are both too oblivious to realise and too scared to tell each other.
frisk is just a human who fell down to the underground and just kinda became friends with everyone. they like to help people and they admire chara a lot. they're best friends with monster kid (who still has the same role btw) and they're very goofy and love to joke around, even tho they can be serious if needed.
chara is another human that fell down and somehow ended up becoming thee captain of the royal guard after undyne's death. they are literally so cool what else can i say abot them.
tori just kinda chills inthe ruins. she lives in the same house as the original game and is still the caretaker of the ruins. she also has a snail racing business in waterfall. she's very good friends with sans and they cook together a lot. they're besties your honor <3. she gets along well with everyone else and she's kind of like a motherly figure to almost everyone who's younger than her.
metta was the former star of the underground, but after alphys' death, he became a bit more depressed. he's fine tho. kind of. he decided to take the role of royal scientist because he knew a lot of stuff from alphys and he was interested in it. he really misses her, but he's trying his best to move on. he was able to repair a body alphys made that was similar to his, which he gave to his cousin blooky, who is now the new star of the underground. he's become much more secluded and less scoial, but he still has a lot of friends and his past fame still sort of lingering. blooky is trying their best to cheer him up.
sans and asgore are happily married, no angst here bc i said so. sans goes to the ruins everyday to see if any humans fell down and to hang out with the monsters there who are usually lonely. he'd be the first monster you'd meet if you fell down to the underground, but im still not sure if i want to make a human that goes through the whole underground undertale style or not. asgore is the same as always, but a bit less depressed cuz he has a great husband who always cheers him up :D
undyne and alphys are fucking dead. thats it. if i were to do the human thing i said earlier, they'd probably show up at the end of the pacifist route to thank you for freeing the monsters. idk what else to say
i dont even have a name for this au. it just started cuz i had the thought of flowey with papyrus' personality and it just spiraled into this. help me...

What if each of the Main Characters had killed one of the 6 humans (except for Papyrus; and in Toriel’s case, it was an accident) … What if even when the Souls are harvested, and in jars… Their Spirits can still haunt their Killers… What if the Spirits haunt their Killers, by sitting on their shoulders and quietly death glaring them (their sins; literally on their shoulders) … And only the Killers can truly see the Spirits… Killers: Toriel + Asgore + Undyne + Alphys + Mettaton + Sans! 👻
Hmm... That could be interesting.
I already have the hc that Sans killed Justice & Undyne killed Integrity, so this works out just fine.
Though, with Integrity, she'd been running from Undyne & had gotten spiked by one of her spears shooting up from the ground. After which, she fell off a cliff & died in the tall grass we find her pointe shoes in. She had likely been hiding in the little cave we find her tutu in beforehand & it was ripped off her by a rock.
Interesting thing, in my hc, Integrity (whom I named Clarissa Bellerose) had been essentially Hapstablook & Napstablook's best friend who was very encouraging to both of them. She wanted to be a star & bring the theater to the Underground & it was their dream to do so as a trio. See, I see her as having been alive during the times where musical theater was getting big & that had a major influence on her growing up.
So, when they heard what happened to her, they reacted in 2 different ways. Blooky by closing himself off & Happy by becoming angry & driven to accomplish their dream even if it had to be on his own. In truth, Mettaton despises Undyne. Absolutely despises her. And the reason why he stopped being Alphys' friend is because he found out what she was doing to Integrity's soul.
That just... It'd really hurt him.
Clarissa actually used to talk like how Mettaton does now & it's one of the ways he tries to keep her memory alive. Like, he actually legitimately did begin talking like her while she was alive, but after her death, he really sorta embraced it.
In a way, I see Mettaton as a very angry individual who's been disillusioned by monsterkind. After all, how could they be as compassionate & merciful as they claim when they snuffed out the single brightest star he had ever seen? The 3 of them were supposed to take the Underground by storm! Shake it to its core! So, he just wants to get the hell out of the Underground & away from the people who celebrated his best friend's death.
That doesn't make him a good person, but it'd certainly explain some things.
As such, I also think that he takes out his frustration & anger at the monsters in-gerenal on Burgerpants.
I also hc that Bravery had been Paps' first real friend way back when he was a kid, that she taught him how to always keep an eye on his opponent's hp. The reason being that Bravery had been reckless in the Ruins & had accidentally dusted a Froggit or something. This traumatized her & it took her a while to recover from it. In this way, she likely stayed with Toriel the longest before eventually leaving.
She was killed unexpectedly by someone. Originally, she was killed by one of the Dog Squad & Pap overheard a member of the Dog Squad talking about how they'd sent a human to Asgore. However, he only thought that it meant she'd been taken home. In this way, he's kinda angry at them for taking her away from him, so he avoids them whenever possible, which is the actual reason he doesn't like going to Grillby's.
I mean, he also thinks it's greasy there, but that isn't why he absolutely refuses to go in there.
However, it could be someone else.
Hey, if ya'll are tired of hearing about my hcs, just say so.

Okay, okay, Undertale AU now.
So... I’ve been playing Undertale again... as I do once a year since it came out. It’s tradition. So I was kind of thinking who from the Dsmp whould fit which role... and yeah...
(I also wanted to add that none of the characters who are in a romantic relationship in the game are in this au. As a matter of fact, no romance in general here!)
First of all, we gotta give the role of Frisk to Ranboo, not because he played Undertale, but because of that one time that he told the story of how he flirted with his opponents in volleyball (was it volleyball? Maybe another sport. It’s irrelevant!) and that’s simply a very Frisk thing to do...
Then first monster we encounter is Flowey and... I mean... that’s c!Dream right there. All the focus on “fun” and “power” and seeing life as a “game” and the bloodlust... yeah, no that’s definitely Dream right there.
Then Toriel comes in! Yay! Puffy is Toriel, no doubt. Both of them have a focus on protecting the children and they’re both really kind, but can get hella scary when angry...
Also Niki is Napstablook ... mostly because she basically did end up haunting/being haunted by the Secret City for a while... also pretty sure both like music and are pretty soft spoken
Then we get the skeleton brothers! Well, Sans first... and who would fit Sans better then Wilbur! Both of their characters struggled heavily with mental health related problems and they are both really strong but somehow also weak at the same time... (strongest boss in the game with 1 hp and all that) not to mention that they both have way too many simps...
Also that means Tommy is Papyrus. I do not make the rules here. Hyper younger brother who is endlessly optimistic and soft hearted? Yep! That’s him!
Which, may have you think that Tubbo is Undyne because, you know, best friends, but no. Undyne is, in fact, Philza Minecraft everybody. They don’t call him Angel of Death for nothing, so he definitely gets to be the captain of the royal guard in this one! He’s just a much more laid back but equally deadly Undyne.
Also Techno gets the role of the socially anxious nerdy scientist, because he’s been ibernating under a pile of dogs for a few months now and also because he once got peer pressured into murder much like Alphys did into building a murderous robot... so yeah.
Also, to complete the ghost family now: Jack Manifold gets the role of Mad Dummy, cousin of Napstablook, because they’re both short, bald and full of spite
And none other then Eret gets the role of Mettaton (other cousin of Napstablook) because they’re both absolutely fabulous and because they’d rock the Mettaton EX form...
Moving on,Schlatt is Asgore. He and Puffy are brother and sister. Why? Because they are both sheeps and it would fit... though admittedly Schlatt has had less moral qualms with killing children then Asgore so far, they do both have that in common as well
Which brings us to Tubbo inevitably being Asriel, because sheep guy, but also because, as a character, he has a history of being pushed around by power hungry people with more charisma then him, and also because Asriel in his God of Hyperdeath form has a f*cking rainbow laser cannon and I think that’s a very Tubbo thing to have...
Quackity is Chara. Both are pretty vengful and power-hungry characters who are not afraid of doing some seriously f*cked up shit to get to their goals, but also they both care about those close to them deeply and have a sort of tragedy to their character
Also Awesamdude gets to be Gaster, and no it’s not only because there is as much Awesamdad fan content as there was Dadster despite neither of them ever being confirmed as canon, but because both characters are brilliant inventors who got screwed over by their own creation...
For some other fun bonuses I could think about:
Sapnap as Monster Kid just because of the absurdly chaotic personality
BBH gets to be Muffet, for no particular reason aside from general vibe
Foolish as Burgerpants because they’re both underpaid and extremely stressed
Punz as Grillby because: money and intimidating aura
Purpled as Nice Cream Guy because: money
And this is pretty much all I could think about... I would include others but I’m kind of stomped at the moment...
So here’s some revisited quotes instead (under the cut):
Flowey!Dream: “Howdy! it’s me Dream. Dream the Dreamon!”
Toriel!Puffy: “Did you want to hear about the book I’m reading? It’s called “72 ways to crack an Egg”. How about it?”
Papyrus!Tommy: “Ah yes, Music Disks, a great reference for theoretical battle scenarios and parties! To which I get invited just constantly!”
Papyrus!Tommy: “W-well, that’s not what I expected... but st- still! I believe in you prick! You can definitely do better! Even if you don’t think so! I... promise....”
Sans!Wilbur: “On days like this, kids like you... should be suffering in Limbo!”
Sans!Wilbur: “Just... don’t say I didn’t warn you. Well. I’m going to Punz’s. Tommy, do you want anything?”
Undyne!Phil: “...Forget it. Look mate. Tommy didn't come to his meeting today. Say what you want about him. He's loud, he's bit selfish, he's obsessed with disks... But Tommy has NEVER missed a meeting. (...) But now he's gone. And his brother isn't around, either. ... What did you do to him? What did you DO TO HIM? Tommy, who I have trained every day... Even though I KNOW he's too soft to ever hurt anyone. Tommy who is... was just a child... ... Go ahead. Prepare however you want. But when you step forward... I will KILL you”
Alphys!Techno: “A long time ago, I made a robot named Eret. Originally I built them to be a farmer robot for my potatoes... didn’t turn out quite right there. Anyway, recently I decided to make them more useful. Heh, you know, just some practical adjustments.... and I might have been carried away a bit and added some, um... Anti-human combat features?”
Asgore!Schlatt: “I'd like to ask, 'would you like a protein shake?' But... you know how it is”
Asriel!Tubbo: “I always was a pushover, wasn’t I, Quackity? I know... you’re not actually Quackity are you? Quackity’s been gone for a long time. Um... what... what is your name? Ranboo? That’s... a weird name bossman...”
Chara!Quackity: “Hey man. I am Quackity. Thank you man. Your power brought me back from Limbo. My "human soul"... my "determination"... they were not mine, but YOURS. At first, I was so confused. Our plan had failed, hadn't it? Why was I brought back to life? ...You. With your “guidance” I realized the purpose of my reincarnation: POWER”

Alterverse
Today I'm gonna be talking about a multiverse for the very first time :0
But first we need to get some basics down:
1- The "Alter" stands for some swaps that will happen, personality and role wise. Specifically: Toriel-Sans / Asgore-Papyrus / Asriel-Gaster /
Got it? Just these 3 swaps, everyone else is the same as the original Undertale. This fact makes some pretty cool character dynamics happen :)
2- We got some ships here, so just a warning if you not into this.
Soriel (sans +Toriel) / Papyred (Papyrus + Red) /
Asdyne (Undyne + Asgore) / Muffeton (Mettaton + Muffet)
(These couples even got their own kids :D)
Ok now that we understand the concept let's look into the Multiverse:
Altertale:
The "Alter" happens in a normal Undertale world.
So Toriel is short, lazy and have knowledge of timelines, while her brother Asgore is a puzzle lover and very excited about stuff.
Sans is the calm caretaker while Papyrus is the king bla bla bla. The standart Alter.
Tumblr media
Alterswap:
This one was tremendously confusing at first not gonna lie. I was just getting used to Toriel being a lazy ass than suddenly here shes so "wheeeeeeeeee"
But yeah, so the "Alter" happens in an Underswap universe.
So, Toriel is overly excited and kind. She wears bright fluffy pink. Asgore is a lazy ass and always has Pocky on his mouth (smoking is for losers).
Sans is more shy than the standart "Alter" and has some cute dynamics with the "not shy" Toriel
\\\^~^\\\
Also, since the universe is swapped, the dynamics between lazy ass Asgore and timid scientist Undyne is unbearably cute.
Tumblr media
Fanart by @nonfahoney :
Alterfell:
This edgy "Alter" happens in the universe of Underfell
Everyone's got some anger issues >:0
Toriel wears more open and sexy clothes and has a love-hate relationship with Sans, who's a real bitch that doesn't admit his feelings easily (fuck, i love this weird sexy horny angry couple)
Asgore is real narcissist and whos always getting in fights with his sister and Undine (cuz he REALLY dosent know how to flirt.)
Its a lot of reds and blacks, and shoutings.
It's so cathartic and I love it lmao
Tumblr media
Alterreap
This "Alter" happens on Reapertale :0
In here, Sans is the God of life and Toriel, the Goddess of death. They meet, Sans is super kind and Toriel is a kuudere (someone that REALLY don't let their emotions out, always with a blank face. ( YEAH FRISK IM TALKING TO YOU >:0))
I love this version of Reapertale and i live and die for kuudere Toriel aaaaa
Tumblr media
Fanart by @vrochart :
Welp, these are the main "Alter" that Alterverse has. I tried my best to explain nicely, but if you want more details here is the link about Altertale that the author made:
Bônus:
A link about the Soriel dynamics (cuz that's the best part of the AU not gonna lie ~):
All about it and more on @friisans :
If you like the concept of role swaps, then I reccomend you this link here

The thing about Undertale that intrigues me the most is that every character is both likeable and dislikeable. None of the characters are entirely bad, but none of them are entirely good, either.
I can hear you shouting, "But Toriel! What about Toriel? Goat Mom did nothing wrong!" Well... Toriel is, imho, the most unambiguously good character in all of Undertale, with the possible exception of the Human Child. She's unceasingly kind and generous, it's almost impossible for her to kill you in her boss fight, and she desires nothing more than your safety. Going off that last point, though, I find Toriel is a lot like Marlin from Finding Nemo. She's overprotective to a comical extreme. Of course, there's a good reason for this behavior. When I first played the game, though, I found her mollycoddling excessive, to the point where I was almost grateful to leave her behind and escape through the basement! Not that I don't love her, because I do, she's so sweet and funny, and I felt horrible when I accidentally killed her; but Toriel has flaws, and she's not just a one-note maternal figure. And that makes her no less loveable. (Side note: Toby Fox originally planned to have you kill Toriel at the end of the Ruins. He changed his mind and created the SPARE system instead. But I wonder if Toriel was intentionally made smothering to make it easier to off her?)
I'm not gonna discuss Flowey because we all know why he sucks, and I can't say anything that hasn't already been said about his good side.
Papyrus, Papyrus, Papyrus... I love this stupid skeleton himbim. (Why is he a himbim, do you ask? Well, he fits the himbo criteria, but literal skeleton-bodied individuals cannot be considered traditionally handsome.) If he wasn't "pure of heart, dumb of ***", he would be utterly obnoxious. Case in point: his egoism. Papyrus thinks he's the greatest. However, what makes him so lovable is that he thinks everyone else is also the greatest (the "pure of heart" aspect), and that he's really not that great (the "dumb of ***" aspect). Papyrus can be grating and loud and all that, and yet everybody loves him. I have yet to hear tell of anyone who dislikes Papyrus. (Is it because he's probably neurodivergent?) It's interesting how we as a fandom don't really discuss the downsides of Toriel and Papyrus. (Again, not that I don't love them! I do!)
Ah, sans. Finally some good comic relief character. He's a very nicely three-dimensional character. I'm no expert on him, but I will say that his depression doesn't completely excuse him from inaction. There's enough talk about sans to fill a novel or two so I'd suggest consulting another source for more info.
Undyne. Probably the first character (aside from Flowey) whom you truly view as a bad guy. And she has her bad side for sure. She's one of only two Normal Route bosses who will not hesitate to kill you. (Asgore never kills you unless your health is at 1 point.) I understand why she's justifying killing you, a small, possibly harmless child, because she thinks it's the only way to free her people and doesn't have any reason to believe otherwise. But, still. I will say that she's the most human of all the monsters (again, besides Flowey) in that she exhibits the most traits of one: DETERMINATION and cruelty.
Okay full disclaimer I believe that Alphys did nothing wrong and I love her and would die for her BUT. But. My friend has argued for why she kind of sucks, and (though it pains me) I don't disagree. Alphys is basically anxiety given bodily form, and she embodies all the negative parts of anxiety, too. Like the Avoidance Spiral. She screws up, she's afraid of what'll happen if people find out, she hides it, people start getting concerned, she's even more afraid, she avoids it, the problem gets worse, she continues to push it away until the problem has grown too big for her to handle but she refuses to let anyone else help her because having other people know she failed is the last thing she wants. The Avoidance Spiral sucks. And with a problem this major, too; no wonder she contemplates and possibly commits suicide. (Interesting side note: the two Normal route bosses who show you the least mercy are the two who, when killed, lead to Alphys's death.) Also, she manipulates the Human Child without a second thought and never apologizes for it. That's, uh, not great. She needs therapy badly. (Another side note: Alphys is the best-handled instance of mentally ill quasi-villainy in video games I can think of. The only others I can think of are Nathan Prescott and Josh Washington so the bar is not high but I digress. Fun Fact: all those games were released in 2015!)
Mettaton has the most unambiguously rotten personality of the bunch (yet again, aside from Flowey). He's breathtakingly self-absorbed, neglected his own cousin, and is downright abusive to his employees. What redeeming traits does he have? Well, uh... he's a loyal friend to Alphys? Ok yeah that's all I can think of. He's extremely entertaining, though, which is probably why more people don't hate him.
Yes, I know, Asgore is a war criminal, but he's also very soft. And I think that sums him up pretty thoroughly. (Asgore: I have done many things wrong in my life, often. Me: I know this, and I love you.)
TL;DR none of the Undertale characters are perfect, and it's not entirely hard to find a reason to want one or the other of them dead. Does that go against the message of the game? Very much so. Does it make the characters any less lovable? Not at all. Should we give more thought to them all being so lovable despite their flaws? Ab-so-lutely.

Falling Down Around You
Sans had been helping the Guard. His shortcuts were one of the most useful things he could provide to the Underground. It was why he’d kept his job as a messenger and mail carrier despite being the Judge, despite being a practicing psychiatrist. He could jump around the Underground in a few minutes, a journey which might take several days depending on which areas you needed to go through. The fastest road might take you from Old Home to the Castle in New Home in a few hours if you ran the whole way and didn’t stop to talk to anyone. But even the Human had originally taken a few weeks to make the whole trip, because they’d been stopped by numerous puzzles, Monsters who wanted to fight them, and even things like buying things at a shop or getting a room at the Inn. A closed down elevator or a blocked tunnel could delay you even longer, and what if you kept being forced down side routes? So if someone needed a message delivered right then and there, they could either send a text or call. But what happened when you needed to deliver something? Or someone? What happened when the person you’re trying to reach wouldn’t answer? The answer was simple. Call someone who can go there in a flash. And of course he’d been happy enough to do it all. Kept things interesting, let him hear news. Occasionally important things would go through from Gaster or the Royals. He’d be the first to hear about Mettaton’s newest shows. It was he who’d been able to congratulate Undyne on her first ever action film even before Alphys could. All the best Undertube videos, the most interesting articles on the Undernet, even plans for new puzzles. He heard about all of it as he zipped back and forth. Tonight however, he’d taken more shortcuts than ever before. First the King and Queen to Snowdin for Isa, then he’d taken them back to the Palace and immediately began transporting to the furthest areas of the Underground. Looking for the most obscure and hidden Monsters to let them know about the King’s order for evacuation. And he’d even helped special cases out for the guard, transporting fire Monsters who couldn’t enter in through the Waterfall Area, or various Monsters from Old Home who couldn’t easily pass through Snowdin Caverns. Then a Guard had asked him to go down to the Lower Waterfall City in the Cliffs and the Outpost below in the Depths to help transport people out so the elevators would be freed up a little. He had to pause and crouch down, his skull nearly level with his knees. Dizziness was making his head feel fuzzy, but he didn’t want to spend too long recovering from it. A real break would be needed soon or he’d regret it. When he had enough strength back he took a shortcut to Gaster’s cave. Asgore and Toriel were up on the platform with Gaster. He headed that way. “Hey Tori,” he said, and she turned with...well... not quite a smile, but more of a flicker of polite recognition. “Have you seen Papyrus?” She shook her head. “I haven’t, but Gaster said he went to inspect the ship, I think he is still on board.” Sans gave a small sigh of relief. Really there hadn’t been too much to worry about. They were trying to hurry with the evacuation because they wanted as much time as possible in case something went wrong or some Monster was missing. And there wasn’t anyone that could really do his bro any harm, or would even want to. But he’d still felt the icy chill of panic throughout this whole thing. Over near the catwalk, Seamus was packing up the last of the recording equipment, with his husband Evan helping him. Mettaton was nowhere to be seen, and Sans decided that the robot had probably either already boarded the ship or was in line somewhere. Or maybe searching for Napstablook. Over the years the two had had a strange friendship, though neither had ever really said how it came about. And the ghost had become somewhat less self depreciating and a little more confident in their abilities. Really their music had been in the top musical hits chart for over a hundred years now, even the newer albums were popular. Even so, Napstablook was still somewhat gloomy, and that was alright. Nobody could ever match the constant energy that Papyrus had. If Napstablook wanted to be a little gloomy and enjoy long periods of solitude, that was their right. Still working at the computers in the section of the cave that served as Gaster’s lab was one of his assistants. Tertia, who was bird-like and hunched over. She poked at the keys in manner that might have seemed like boredom to anyone else, but Sans knew it was just her way. All four of Gaster’s assistants were very strange Monsters. Suddenly the cave shook.  Lights flickered as the very roof of the cave trembled, screams and gasps came from the lines of Monsters waiting to board the ships. Alarms began blaring loudly and little red lights began flashing all over the cave. Gaster whirled round. “What is it? What’s happening?” he demanded of his assistant who was now typing frantically away at the keyboard, trying to find the source. Down below the Monsters were beginning to panic and the Guard was having to step in to keep things from getting out of hand. Tertia gasped, her grey eyes going wide, the most expressive face he’d ever seen on any of the assistants. “It’s the Core! It’s experiencing an overload! It’ll go down in just a few minutes!” Gaster’s mouth fell open in shock. It was only for half a second that he stood there, but with everyone staring at him, waiting for him to carefully explain to them what that meant exactly and what they should do, it seemed like an eternity of waiting. When he finally did move it was neither carefully nor calmly. The scientist threw himself forward towards the ledge looking down on the ship, grabbing the rails to push himself up so that he was right above where the Guards were. “GET EVERYONE ON THE SHIP NOW! DON’T COUNT THEM! JUST BOARD!” Pandemonium ensued. Monsters surged towards the doors of the ship, climbing aboard with the assistance of the Royal Guards, who were doing their best to keep smaller Monsters from being trampled in the chaos. Gaster was halted by Toriel and Asgore who were demanding to know what was happening. But he had no patience for careful explanations. He dove past them and started grabbing files and notebooks off his desk and stuffing everything haphazardly into a briefcase. “It’s the core!” he screeched, almost in hysterics. “If it falls the entire grid will go down. It won’t be enough to kill anyone as long as they aren’t in the machine itself, but the shock wave will be enough to reach this cave. The ship is programmed to open a Rift in the event of an apocalyptic emergency, and it will think this is one!” Glancing behind and seeing their blank expressions he growled in frustration. “Don’t you get it?! If we don’t get on board the ship will leave without us!” That did it, horrified understanding dawned in the eyes of the two Monarchs and they ran for the stairways along with the rest of the crowds. But the lines still stretched out through Waterfall, there were still over 600 Monsters who hadn’t gotten the chance to board yet. Feeling sick to his stomach, Sans wondered for a second what he should do. Shortcuts. He could save some people. Seamus and Evan were making for the stairs as well and he ran to catch up with them. Grabbing their arms he used a shortcut to tear all three of them from their current position in space and onto the ship, where he left them confused and disoriented, and took a shortcut back. Next was Tertia, who was sitting, not moving, in her chair, staring blankly at the computer screen in shock. She didn’t thank him as he handed her over to the Guards in the ship’s hold. He’d gone back for Gaster when he spotted Realis enter the cave looking frantic. Running that way instead he brought the prince into the ship as well. Monsters outside were desperately pushing relatives, especially younger ones, forward. Though there were no real children left after three hundred years, many still appeared to be children, and their parents lifted them high, ignoring their protests, and practically handed them to the Guards, who took them into the ship. Cousins, lovers, and friends were shoved forward, and other Monsters who only had themselves to worry about pushed their way to the front. He saw Papyrus pull a Froggit as well as both Bratty and Catty into the ship all at the same time. Even Monster Kid had leaned back as far as he could to take the tiny Cinnamon with the curl of his tail while Goner helped Cinnamon’s older Sister, Lapina, climb up using his tail.  A tiny yellow bird who had once carried people across a disproportionately small gap was clinging to her fur, terrified out of its mind. Where had Gaster gone to? He spotted Gaster fiddling with the computers, Sans appeared behind him and saw the little storage chip he’d plugged into slot. The Scientist was trying to copy over his research. “Doc! Come on! There’s no time!” And there wasn’t time. The surge from the collapsing Core hit and the cavern shook again and the lights went out, leaving only the ship and it’s power system separate from the main grid still lighting the space. Screaming and panicked shouting rang out and the Monsters nearest to the ship were forced back. The Rift had begun to open up underneath the floor of the cave. Papyrus was looking frantically around the cave, pushing against his own guards as they tried to close the doors for their fall into the Void. “SANS!!!” he screamed. Sans was only a few steps from the edge of the platform, right over the ship. He didn’t think, he only moved. He was already in the air when he realized that Gaster was with him,  having tried to stop him from making the jump and fallen with him. To all those still in the cave it appeared as if a gigantic flat disk of nothingness you couldn’t describe that had no color to speak of but wasn’t black or white and could be seen even in the dark despite not giving off any light had opened up where the floor was supposed to be. The Ship and the pair of falling Monsters seemed to slow and freeze in place, then slowly... without moving, they simply began to fade away as if they had never been. And with them went the strange grey disk that made up the Rift. From San’s point of view the world around him began to warp and twist as if it were being turned inside out. He could still see the Monsters in Gaster’s cave, but instead of the cave being all around him, it was as if the space around him had been turned inside out and shaped into an orb, leaving only the Void around him as he fell away from the orb. It got smaller and smaller until it was gone, and so was the ship. He and Gaster were adrift in the Void.

The Multiverse Migration
I love skeleharem fics.
Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut you gotta admit, it seems a little short-sighted to go falling in love with a gaggle of skelemen when they’re all actively trying to leave. Like, polyamory is becoming more common in skeleharem fics because nobody wants to actually choose any of the skeletons over their brother and/or alternative selves, but that means that you, the Reader, are entering a relationship with several individuals who plan to go their separate ways into DIFFERENT PLANES OF EXISTENCE.
Even without the polyamory angle, if you choose someone that didn’t come from the world that you already have a life in, one of you is going to have to make a very difficult decision.
Some fics have given the skeletons other excuses to flex their science muscles by keeping an eye on interdimensional mishaps (usually somehow related to whatever brought them all into the same world, to begin with), which--I’ll admit--does provide a reason for them to keep doing what they’re doing without necessarily wanting to leave as well as some interesting plot potential. Personally, though, I would like to see a skeleharem fic where the skeletons in question have more reasons make new lives where they are than just being stuck or liking something about the new locale (including the Reader).
I once considered writing a scene where a couple of Sanses, whilst still in their separate universes of origin, get in contact with each other to discuss the upcoming move that would result in the potential set-up for a skeleharem fic (that I never had any intentions of actually writing, sorry~). The scene would discuss these points:
The skelebros of UnderSwap, SwapFell and UnderFell are all migrating to the world of UnderTale.
In UnderSwap, the skelebros are pretty much the only survivors. US!Papyrus doesn’t like to think about whatever happened, while US!Sans simultaneously doesn’t want to talk about it in front of any Papyri and refuses to leave his Papyrus’s side for longer than a couple minutes at a time.
In SwapFell, everyone’s pretty much alive, but SF!Toriel is considerably stricter in how the Underground is run, more invested in the prospect of war and downright ruthless with preparing her own people for combat when compared to UF!Asgore. The SwapFell skelebros are technically under less immediate duress than the Swap or Fell bros, but SF!Sans still thinks the move would be best for his Papyrus’s safety. SF!Paps (being a Papyrus and considering that I believe all the AU characters should be the same at SOUL-level) just couldn’t bring himself to keep his mouth shut around their version of Muffet or Undyne, who wants to go with him but won’t leave without Alphys, who wants to do whatever makes Undyne happy but is conflicted about leaving Catty and Bratty behind, etc, etc. The scene in question would be SF!Sans and UT!Sans discussing how many people could be brought over and how to talk SF!Paps down to a nice, manageable number, since SF!Sans is having a difficult time convincing him to just pack up and go.
In UnderFell, Toriel and Undyne are dead, resulting in a Mettaton Ending. But in UnderFell. (Regardless of if you headcanon UF!Mettaton character as a more homicidal and sadistic version of his Tale counterpart or as a hated and abused outlet of the Underground’s aggression, the result of him suddenly having so much power and using it in the manner described in that ending of UnderTale is not pretty.)
Nothing against the other AUs--I love a lot of them!--but I tend to mentally organize the AUs by their relationships to these main four worlds and ever since I saw the different versions of NyuBlackNeko’s Mob AU, I just can’t picture a multiverse situation where both UnderSwap and UnderFell exist but SwapFell and four variations of every other AU don’t (like in @optima-chama’s remake of It Feels Better When I’m Dancing or this DanceTale pic that made me cackle when I saw it).
(Well...technically I can imagine UnderSwap and UnderFell or UnderTale and SwapFell existing if the other two don’t, but that kinda limits what other AUs make sense...)
That’s a lot of AUs.
That’s a lot of skelebros to keep track of.
Pile on every AU you find interesting in groups of four variations of each to keep that model (as I would because I keep my hoarded piles of magazines I’ll never read in neat, organized piles, thank you) and that’s probably too many to squeeze in any meaningful character interactions/development.
(Also, yes. Swap-verse Alphyses are more likely to keep secrets from their Queens than non-Swap-verse Undynes are from their Kings.)

I have a question that you might be able to answer. How would I write a trans sans AU? Like male to female without making it offense. They're skeletons so I'm not sure how make it work out.
I mean I'm notoriously bad at explaining gender to people, but I can do my best! It's one of those concepts that I understand but don't quite understand how others can't since it just works in my brain, ahah 💦💦
I do know that there is a short AU comic that I read a while back that had a trans Sans. I can't remember the name... "Spring Before Another Winter" maybe? Something like that. That might help you, too!
But the thing with gender is that it's not biological. It's just... a way of expressing yourself, I guess? Being trans is just going from one side of the spectrum to the other (or transitioning from whatever your assigned gender may have been. In the case of Mettaton and Mew Mew notably, they were both non-binary originally before transitioning.)
Besides, monsters aren't exactly depicted canonically to have any reproductive biological differences, and monsters are pretty open when it comes to gender (calling Frisk "they" rather than "he" or "she" as a default; ghosts all being essentially agender until they decide otherwise such as with Mettaton and Mew Mew; Papyrus's door saying "No boys, no girls, only Papyrus allowed;" probably many other examples). It's to be inferred that they probably don't really have the same binary system that humans have. Which, actually, this may seem like useless information for writing a trans character -- but considering this is a pre-established work, taking into account the culture and society of monsters is actually pretty important! It would be strange for monsters to suddenly have human customs or suddenly go against what they usually believe.
There's a few different ways I often see writing characters as different genders goes, too, but they all are pretty different, despite on the surface being the same.
1) Writing a character just in general as a different gender from the start. For example, Aqua (ULR!Muffet) is like that for me, being that they are genderfluid. Or people tend to have different interations of Frisk or Chara, such as XTale. Or, another example is nekojaf's Idoltale, where all of her Sanses are girls. If you were to write Sans as trans from the start, it's probably best if you establish them as a woman and have the topic be brought up naturally. A very cliché way of revealing a trans character tends to be a "Oh no, I walked in on you dressing" scene or something, which I would highly advise not doing, because this has a lot of implications that go against the gender spectrum itself by enforcing "biology defines who you are" and creates and uncomfortable scenario for the viewer and characters too. (Obviously, the characters are characters and not people, but I mean this as... it's not a good way of establishing relationships between characters.) That and it's just very overdone. Unless this Sans you're writing is younger -- Sans by default is an adult, and is definitely (despite their jokester attitude) mature enough to bring it up if necessary. But you also don't have to bring it up at all! It could just be something in your notes and you go through the whole series writing Sans as a woman. Mettaton, for example, is a character that is wholly written as a man despite being trans. It's only clarified in his diaries that he used to be a ghost.
2) Writing a genderbend, which is... often frowned upon. I separate this from the first one, because genderbending is typically done in a manner that is more focused on the idea of "biological gender," and often it's done to either be a gag or sexualized. Some people just do it for designs, but even still it often makes people uncomfortable. (Frankly, changing anything from canon will always make people uncomfortable, but genderbending has always been a touchy subject.) I'd try to avoid this, ESPECIALLY if you're trying to write a trans character.
3) And, of course, writing a character who is still discovering more about themselves! This can be a bit more difficult to write, especially if you've never experienced this yourself. If you're uncomfortable or unconfident in this, you don't have to write it -- but either way, I WILL advise reading or studying how trans folk think and feel when discovering more about themselves (if you don't have any personal experiences with it yourself.) I feel as though the experience is pretty similar for a lot of people, just based on the ones I know and have talked to. I know for me I actually figured out I didn't fit my assigned gender at a really young age, like before middle school (though I didn't know what it meant) just because of my surroundings being harassed for wearing the "wrong" clothes and following around my very gender-ambiguous sister. However, it took me until I was 18 to really feel remotely confident in who I was -- and honestly, I still question it. It's a learning process, and people tend to be really flexible in going between a few different things before they settle on something that really clicks.
I... think that's about all I can think of. Anyone else can feel free to add on to this!! Or.. remind me of the title I forgot earlier lol. But I hope this helps!!! Like I said this is kinda hard for me to explain sometimes so 😅

Tag Fact #3 -  I’ve come to realize I’ve always been a fan artist more than I thought. so here is a timeline of influences that shaped my childhood to now. from nostalgic times, to sad changes, to great loss, to strange rises to fame and phases, to stepping stones and finally a laughing place. all the things that make up your favorite fan artist Tag.
1. Rayman (bumped into this in the year of 1999) was actually the first fandom (with crossovers) I bumped into when I was 9. although the internet wasn’t available at the time it was still fun to dwell in home amusements. I remember the storylines and the OC’s I made but they’re kind of embarrassing and it’s probably a good thing there was no internet. I’ve done fanart and comic crossovers of Rayman with Calvin and Hobbs and Nights Into Dreams, spinoffs of Sonic the Hedgehog OC’s, Yoshi with Pikachu, and the Pokemon/Digimon craze with OC’s and other Nintendo comic shorts. but the drawings and comics are long gone and disappeared in the garage in a backpack due to suspecting my sister’s dad accidentally throwing them away. years later towards the year 2018 (now 28), we decided to move to North Carolina and it was my chance to find them again. unfortunately the backpack was gone just like I suspected (my main stuff), but for some reason I found my Pokemon/Digimon fanart, a good batch of Super Mario drawings (vaguely remember doing these), my sister’s drawings and some other neighborhood kids’ drawings in a dirty box. I was partially happy I found something at least but it was the backpack I wanted the most. sometimes I regret not looking for the backpack (’cause I was too busy being a kid) but it’s alright, noone needs to see that shit anyway, ha ha. anyways, I recall being a fan of Rayman from 1999 ‘til 2002.
2. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle (bumped into this in the year of 2003) my second fandom I bumped into when I was 12 going on 13. at the time, my sister and I both liked the Sonic The Hedgehog Franchise based on the Battle remake and ended up making our own secret fanart club that consisted of only us two members. she liked Sonic (and that was her boyfriend, ha ha) and I liked Knuckles (and he was my boyfriend, ha ha) and we were crazy in love about Shadow’s backstory. we listened to the game’s soundtracks as we drew fanart and comics after school and man, those were good times. however, as we grew older towards the year of 2005, we ended up having separate rooms and I believe it played a part in disconnecting on the same interest. then one day, I asked her why she wasn’t into Sonic anymore and she replied, “Because I grew up.” I was sad after that and slowly observed that she was influenced by the emo culture and the new friends she’s made. I was the only member of our little club for a little longer...but eventually I moved on too. I still have some surviving fanart we did together but it doesn’t mean shit anymore since she turned out to be an abusive mother from the last I’ve heard of her.
3. Gorillaz (bumped into this in the year of 2006). as the Sonic years were at its end, I first heard the song “Feel Good Inc” on Music Choice and seeing the first image of them as displayed on this post (except the fan-made background doesn’t count since I can’t find the original artwork). this was my third fandom and later had proper access to the internet to the website I still currently use called DeviantArt. at first I liked 2D but eventually fell for Murdoc and developed a spiritual connection towards the character as obviously seen in my old fanart and rare photos of my devotion shrines on Valentine’s Day and his birthday every year. for the longest time since being a permanent fan from 2006-2017 (11 1/2 years) I had no knowledge that it was a political propaganda band and other realizations I don’t want to talk about. I only followed them because it was a cartoon and not the bullshit behind the musical project. the world I’ve built and support for them for all those 11 1/2 years shattered the fuck out of me and I just wanted to be left alone to find myself again, somehow. activity stopped on all my profiles, the flow of fanart stopped since I now cringe from the fan service and felt I was used for my talent. I didn’t want to be reminded of it all so I took down all my Gorillaz fanart and archived them for old followers’ nostalgia but also in the hopes they’ll be forgotten in my timeline. I ceased to exist in the fandom for huge personal reasons but it’s best to not say why. I know for sure that the fandom wonders what happened but it’s none of their business. THE END.
4. Waluigi (although I knew he’s been around since 2000 during childhood, I took deep interest once I revisited the character again in the year of December 2013). as silly as this sounds, when I revisited him again, the character was so bizarre that I ended up staying up 3 nights and 3 days in a row just looking all over the internet on everything about him and the questionable “hush-hush” absence of a backstory. despite there being no backstory he slowly gained a cult following and in many ways it’s a good thing. however, since the early 2010′s tension has been building up between Nintendo and its fans about him starring in a main game but everyone hasn’t fully gotten it in their heads that it’s not gonna happen. as long as Nintendo is in control of that, the fandom will not win, I’m sorry to say. on the other hand, if it’s going to be this way, then that’s what fanart and comic projects are for. as for me, I am doing my very best to get my comic project “Waluigi Land” going. again, I apologize if it’s taking very long to get Chapter 2 going if you’ve been keeping track but aha moments need to develop before I start permanent drawing (since concepts, character design and storyline needed improvement badly). as of right now I am still a Waluigi fan and I will not quit on him.
5. Turbo from Wreck-It-Ralph (although it debuted in 2012, I watched the movie two years later into the year 2014). for some bizarro reason, I had an unhealthy obsession with this character to the point where I dressed up as him for Halloween 2014. only 2 fanarts of him and the Turbo Twins exist on my profiles, mainly because my mind was more focused on just ‘thinking about him’ or ‘being him’ rather than drawing physical drawings. luckily, this supposed alleged fandom didn’t last long a little after Halloween so I chalk it up as a very short phase. to this day I don’t know what has gotten over me about him. the only thing I can think of now is that I think it’s because the character had yellow eyes and teeth but I don’t know. now that I think of it, that little fucker was ugly as hell and I STILL don’t know what had gotten over me. one day, my brother mentioned what that was about, and I said to him, “I don’t wanna talk about it.”
6. Undertale (although it debuted in 2015, I later took interest in it in 2016). It was all about Sans and Papyrus. I couldn’t get enough of the skeleton bros. eventually Toriel and Mettaton EX became my favorites but it took a long time to draw more of all 4 of them because I had other important things to do in my life plus I was still waiting for the next Gorillaz album to revive my imaginative juices (or so I thought). I really want to have this as one of my frequent fandoms but I just don’t have time for it anymore. it’s still in the back of my head to want to draw them but at this point I still have other better interests to be in. and besides, I’m lazy just like Sans.
7. Cuphead (June 28th, 2017 was the official day I called quits on the British-based band Gorillaz due to the bullshit behind it. since that date I was lost, had no inspiration to look forward to and no cartoon guy to make me smile...but lo and behold of the same year, I took an interest in playing the game Cuphead and man...that shit was a frightening exaggerated metaphor for being on that one drug (forgot the name though) and having sex at the same time but man that was the best fun I’ve had in years. I mean, it’s like, enemies are just so happy to murder you and that scared the shit outta me. and the facial exaggeration?....I think I should stop, ha ha. anyways, the Moldenhauers saved my ass from spiraling down, they have no clue. anyways, eventually I became a permanent fan of their work so to ease the hurt and erase my past from the G-fandom I had to re-wire my brain into a different cartoon category that’s a rather more American, so anything Toon related like Roger Rabbit, Felix the Cat or another favorite that’s a western-based cartoon makes me feel better, especially my new man .......King Dice <3 <3<3<3. however, there was something about this new fandom category I still didn’t quite understand until the date March 14th, 2020. I finally understood what it was but I feel I shouldn’t bring it up. anyways, Cuphead and anything western or rubber hose is my last stop in inspiration for the remaining years of my life. many say never say never but I believe I’ve found my laughing place and that’s all that matters.

Good evening,morning,afternoon-wherever you are! x) I’m really happy to bring this piece on ground,It’s been a while since I’ve been working on and off, making these new original characters the “best” I felt I possibly could do. :)
Carter Henwood
Carter is a gentle middle aged man with alot of kindness up his sleeves.Ever since the loss of his wife,he promised her and himself, like he always did, to do everything he can to protect, help and love their daughters. He works as a business worker that got moved over from another country and often works night shifts to make  money on the side to adjust to his family and his needs and hobbies. He loves listening to music, read novels and write little letters, talking about his day, hoping Anastasia gets them from up above… But most of all,he loves spending time with his daughters and..just see them happy. Some say he may be overworking, but to Carter,it’s only a matter of time he can get that promotion and see his girls more often.
Mona Henwood
Here comes Momo!!Alphys’ little sister.Mona is 9 years old attending Ebott Elementary with alot of energy and good grades in almost everything. She likes pop music bands(boy bands especially), reality tv shows and of course cartoons.Althought Mona inherited her sister and her mom’s beautiful blue ocean eyes and her dad’s caring nature, she also inherited a little issue of her own from her mom’s illness! Mona lives with Type 1 Diabetes that was easily diagnosed from her young childhood. She also is ADHD but this little rascal has so much excitement to share that sometimes Alphys or Carter (if not busy) come at school and help her calm down!By last,Mona and Alphys both easily get sick during the colder seasons, sometimes, unfortunatly needing more professional help.
Julian Davis
If evil was a person, unfortunatly you now have the bad luck of knowing “Mr.Davis-or Mr.Garcia”.Julian is Undyne’s biological father. After a serious series of violence against his own daughter, this man has been roting in prison.Instead of working in the police departement like he so enjoyed, roting not only others but his only daughter’s life. There is no pity in this man.Only a poor excuse of a human being. ((WRITER’S NOTE)) Originally,Julian was ment to be alot more evil than I am describing here.He was even supposed to be actively part of the story as a “free” character for a while! But with pure understanding of people being afraid of corrupted cops, and I care alot about the Black Movement,Julian was permanently removed as a free roaming character .My first thought is telling a story and I have alot alot ALOT of care for my readers, my last nonexistent thought is bringing back traumatic events with such character.
Savannah Beauregard
Everyone to your stove,Mademoiselle Beauregard is in the place! Savannah is a nice, caring mom to Mettaton and a loving wife for her husband Caleb. (And an amazing cook!) She’s alot of the main reason of her son looking up to her, especially fashion wise.Savannah is very well known for her culinery skills,so much that she owns her own restaurant, downtown the city. She doesn’t mind being under the spotlight next to her good looking and loving husband…but it’s not something she’d do everyday!Somedays, just a couple of days away from the crowds,or even customers with her family wouldn’t hurt. But still..this lady loves life..and is proud of her son,no matter what he wants to be!
Caleb Beauregard
Caleb Beauregard is a well known french actor, from appearing in countless movies, talk shows and game shows. This main was BORN to be an actor and he WILL tell you twice! As much has he loves his job, paparazzis are..another story.Of course he loves his fans!But…don’t..get too close from me guhhh..!! To Mettaton, his dream to become famous comes from Caleb. (Could you have guessed :’D) Since very young,Papa Beauregard brought Mini Mettaton to screenings and behind the scenes segments, where mini could learn everything about the inside world of showbiz!Even if Mettaton and him have a really great father and son relationship..will Caleb be able to understand, more in debt and care about Mettaton’s way of life, filled in this world of people and drama?
