There is truly nothing I loathe more than the "cooking vegetarian/healthy food is classist" vs "cooking at home is cheaper than eating out you guys aren't really poor you're just lazy" debate because both sides refuse to acknowledge that poverty and the pressures on poor people with respect to food manifest differently in different countries and situations

#like even in the same country #im a uni student and not in full time work #so im not super time poor #therefore it is cheaper for me to cook at home #if i was working 2x jobs then the labour involved in grocery shopping and cookint would mean it would be #'cheaper' for me to eat fast food because im saving time and can rest more #also food deserts dont exist everywhere #i live in a pretty lower middle class community and i can easily access fresh veggies #obviously this isnt true for everyone
