I have now decided that for next Eurovision every country choses their artists/songs same as every year and also the semifinals are completely the same. BUT then it is announced that every artist will now have to perform a randomly assigned song from another participant. As soon as everyone catches up to that scheme people will of course submit the most batshit insane and difficult songs which is why everyone including the big five will have to participate in the semifinals so they can proof the song is playable.

#i have way to many thoughts about eurovision although the closest they come to my taste in music was Lord of the Lost and Voyager #Voyager actually being a band playing the genre I mainly listen to #esc #eurovision

I'll be honest: I'm not much of an "album" person, I'm more the sort of person who listens to anything I might like- a single, selected songs from any random album, orchestral symphonies (the fact that claire de lune comes right after brazil, by declan mckenna, in the only playlist i have ever made should tell you everything lmao). mostly because my mood is almost as inconsistent as jason's characterization and because i have yet to hear an album with unskippable songs. with all that unnecessary info out of the way, here's some albums i sort of remember listening to recently:

I never get it when Death Grips fans go on and on about how "everyone finds Death Grips unlistenable the first time they listen to it but then it grows on you" because I do not have that experience in the slightest. I listened to Takyon and got into it pretty much instantly. Funny because usually I have to listen to songs more than once for me to start liking them but the supposed "grows on you" music was an instant click

damn i love Brad Taste In Music

i feel like his community is the only community on the internet that can be considered truly safe and welcoming. his fans are the best, his sense of humour is insane and i love it, and i truly appreciate all of his takes even if i disagree with his goofy ass.

for example, i completely disagreed with his twenty one pilots hatred and disgust with their lyrics, but i still love the fact that he has no filter and just says what’s on his mind. the only reason why i got angry with his takes was because i knew it would influence my own experience with this band. but that’s okay? honestly. it’s just difficult to separate your own opinion from someone else’s. i don’t know how to explain it, but when you’re like “DAMN THIS BAND IS INSANE AND I ADORE THEIR WHOLE DISCOGRAPHY” and someone else is like “DAMN THAT’S LIKE THE WORST SHIT EVER😃😃😃”, you kinda wanna die inside, cause u don’t understand. then you grow and your personality changes. you become more chill, i guess.

but anyway! Brad is one of the best music critics out there. not because he’s the most musically trained guy, but because he’s extremely human and intuitive. and the fact that his community is so amazing just proves it one more time. ily🥰

mhmm honestly i think like, the one i never get tired of is The Cross. and also probably Murder. (Murder is. 3rd in my most listened songs of those past 6 months. ✌️ And The Cross is 5th. ✌️) Any of the others songs can come and go depending on how much i listen to them but those two are some i never skip, i love them so much.

On some honorable mentions tho, bc those two songs have been songs i've only listened to """"recently""" (as in like, when i went back to listen to the discography 5 years ago and rediscovered the band of my teenagehood), but a song that deserves an honorable mention is Our Solemn Hour, which has stayed in many of my playlists even during the cringe phase of my life where i thought i was too good for Within Temptation (i was wrong. but even when i was wrong i knew to recognize greatness.)

So those would be my picks for sure, but that's evil i love this band soso much. I almost listed just "fav song from each album LETS GOOO" but i'm being so brave about it. and reasonable looking at my spotify stats and seeing that i have clear favorites.

a scene from Start Of The Breakdown, the first part of You should've raised a baby girl, I should've been a better son:

The day consists of going in and out of classes, trying to memorise what the teachers say and only writing down the most important parts, trying to memorise and make sure that he doesn’t mix up his letters, trying to memorise and make sure his handwriting is legible.

He doesn’t eat lunch, not wanting to see Tommy and Carol. He fills up on water in a bathroom and doesn’t think about the soft-looking hair of the freshman washing his hands next to him.

His own hair has a side part that he only sees when his parents are home and he has to hide the Farrah Fawcett hairspray. It looks wrong, and he gets so caught up staring in the mirror that he doesn’t notice the freshman being replaced by a senior until a flash of rings in the corner of his eye startles him.

Steve leaves the bathroom, hoping it looks natural and not like he’s running away.

the same scene from Thrill Of It All, a companion piece from Eddie's pov:

Eddie Munson has always been aware of Steve Harrington, since before high school even though he’s loathe to admit it. There’s just something about the Harrington heir that draws his eyes, which is why when Gareth had come back to their lunch table commenting about Harrington being weird in the bathroom, Eddie had gone to investigate.

Weird was certainly one way to put it.

Eddie sidles up next to Harrington by the sinks, turning on the tap so that he can use washing his hands as an excuse for being there. Harrington doesn’t react, his reflection apparently holding the answers to all of Earth’s questions. It’s strange because Eddie has focused his high school years on being loud, putting a target on himself that makes him hard to ignore. Harrington is only a grade under him, so he has to be aware of who Eddie is, and he won’t take being ignored by some rich kid experiencing an existential crisis.

So Eddie talks.

“You take something, Harrington?” he asks, because he knows drugs, and he knows that Harrington hasn’t. Provoking is always a safe bet. “Hope not, since you haven’t been buying from me. I wouldn’t trust any other dealer, even your friend Tommy H. knows to only buy from me. Don’t tell him, but I overcharge him since he’s such an asshole. I would probably overcharge you too, so maybe it’s for the best that you’re not buying from me….”

He trails off at the lack of a reaction.

There’s only so long that you can realistically wash your hands, so Eddie turns the tap off and tries to shake the water off his hands just to get some of the awkward energy out.

“I would overcharge you because I think you’re an asshole-” he starts to explain, thinking that maybe the insult wasn’t blunt enough to provoke, but then Harrington startles and the next thing Eddie knows, he’s alone.

He doesn’t think Harrington heard a word he said, which makes the whole thing so much stranger.

And Eddie likes strange. Likes weird. Is downright fascinated by it.

So he decides to watch.

i started this blog like a year ago (november 2022) (it's been more than a year but technically it's been one year and a bit more so i'll just call it one year) and it was supposed to be a blog dedicated to kpop but my laptop broke down and i was inactive for 9 months and then i got into the it fandom in like july of 2023 and there is no way out now i am stuck here in the deep crevices of the it fandom and i shall stay here
