Feel like I’ve said it before but I’ll say it again:
What I would give for there to be a f1 special of gbbo like even if it’s just the brits doing it.. like just imAGINE the chaos. Lando would just cause absolute carnage like flour everywhere, egg shells everywhere, undercooked but also overcooked at the same time (think ‘started making it, had a breakdown.. Bon appetite’ vibes).
Then you’d have galex who I think would start off good and they’d be careful about measurements but would have some whacky experimental flavours in there and they’d be helping each other out but then just rile each other up and end up turning it into a disaster with them not being able to finish anything bc they’re laughing too much and their end products are something a 4 year old would be ashamed of.
Then you’d have Lewis who would just be quietly getting on with stuff and turn out to be a pretty decent baker and is the only one who actually completes the brief (and has the only thing to present that’s edible).

Some things:
I can’t stop thinking about The Bear. I don’t want to stop thinking about it. Something about it is so painful and real. I love it.
I just turned 26 so I guess it’s time to run headfirst into trying to improve my entire life. I don’t feel particularly hopeful I can do that though.
My summer is over in 3 days and I’ve been having back-to-school nightmares for the last 3 weeks. This happens every year, but by year 5 of teaching this feels especially concerning and unhealthy.
Idk I want to have a positive thing because I’m still reasonably happy, I just feel like I’m somehow getting worse at taking care of myself as I get older, which feels like failure.
I did feel super loved by my friends and family today!
Oh and I made these almond croissants for bestie’s bday and they’re far from perfect but I’m really proud of them.

Because I’m absolutely hopeless
My mudcake in a mug just exploded in the microwave
I’m 21
I followed a YouTube tutorial conducted by a five year old
oh noooo baby I’m so sorry 😭 honestly I’m not the best at mug cakes - but I do love baking — here’s an easy recipe that I’ve used in the past:
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
Pinch of salt, optional
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
Splash vanilla extract, optional
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (I usually add more than this)
Combine all ingredients and microwave for 90 seconds
I would say microwave in bursts if you can — because maybe your microwave is too intense that’s why it exploded — usually it explodes from too much baking powder or microwaving for too long (2 minutes is too long) or the mug you have was too small (mug cakes need a lot of space).
cookies are more my forte personally but I think this recipe is very good 🥹💕

Pumpkin Pie

My husband liked it (I could tell because he ate most of it when he came home from work - I woke up the next day to a “instructions say to leave one for wife’s breakfast” piece, hooray!)
Anyway, I made this with acorn squash that my husband cooked:

It came out a bit too savory for me, so I know I should have added the full amount of sugar (I don’t enjoy overly-sweet things so I often err on the side of caution and use a couple tablespoons or so less sugar). Another note about the recipe: I definitely had to add more than a tablespoon of cornstarch (perhaps 3?). I used plant-based heavy whipping cream, and I actually topped it with chocolate.
The end result, as far as looks, really reminded me of a pie from a movie and I cannot figure out which one…
