It's not that I didn't think they'd have any focus at all. I knew in my heart that everybody would get at least ONE big cool moment as a send-off to their character. So I expected another big badass Willow outburst (like in COTH) with an animation quality bump just for her.

However, I also believed that, since they were being set up with all this suspense over them learning the grimwalker secret, most of Willow and Gus's role in ftf would revolve around the specialist boy in the world, Hunter. Like I knew they'd get some attention but I genuinely believed the focus would be tipped in Hunter's favour and the scenes would slot them into the role of supporting characters in his story. And I had made peace with that. I was like "Okay. Fine. I'll take them being supporting characters over minor characters any day. At least we get SOMETHING."

But given that the show was running so short on time and had a lot of stuff to establish, I never would have imagined them squeezing in such an in-depth deconstruction of Willow. Never in a million years would I have predicted that she'd get this level of care and attention. Never did I imagine that Hunter was more like a supporting role in HER story. Never did I imagine that he'd be the one comforting her.

NOBODY SAW THIS COMING!!! Like we wanted it and some of us believed they might scratch the surface of the issue but never anything to this extent!! I was going to Hell and back writing about Willow and all her complicated little feelings because I truly believed the show never would. This shit is insane!!!

We expected NOTHING and we got a FEAST!!!!

Oh and I don't want to hear anybody complaining about how Gus didn't get the same level of attention as Hunter and Willow. That is the STAR of Watching and Dreaming. We are not READY for the shit they've got cookin for Gus.
