there’s something so bloody brilliant about the character of nicky di genova. it’s this pure contradictory awesomeness that i struggle to word but i’ll give it a go

the way he is so kind. when i haven’t seen the movie in a while i get to thinking his kindness is exaggerated in fanon but it truly isnt, he’s this lovely, solid warmth in the group, full of empathy and a desire to protect and help. i just love the contrast of that person being a terrifyingly adept killer. every scene where he fights with the sword im just in awe at his speed and precision. this calm, quiet, caring man houses such ferocity but it’s so controlled, so efficient and neat, it’s fascinating to see. it’s like how could you be scared of this guy, but also you’d be insane not to be scared of this guy.

you imagine nicky to be the medic in the war. the one who cooks for the team. he is the one who greets and smiles at the locals. the one who doesn’t regret losing for even just the chance to help someone. the one who pushes for helping nile, instantly putting himself in her shoes. he’s all that and he’s the sniper.

Okay so I read blondes really do have more fun by @suzukiblu today and it blew me away! It was beautiful and heartbreaking and bubbly and sweet and so, so many things.

I knew as soon as I finished reading that I wanted to make a moodboard. At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go with a fic or character focused moodboard. Ultimately, the imagery and emotions that supergirl wrestles with are so vivid and gorgeously written I just wanted to put something together that kind of looks the way she feels as herself, that light, floaty happiness.

Gender swap AU’s are such a good opportunity for exploring gender identity that don’t get used often enough. Blondes is probably the best I’ve ever read and I’m already looking forward to my next time through.

Hey Pasta! I loved your thoughts on the episode, spot on. But people are theorizing and or complaining that Matt and Jen are gonna be a couple and while not opposed ( and I kind of ship them) I don't feel like that's gonna happen. Because I think people are forgetting Matt is a SLUT period. They just gave me a one-time thing leading to friendship vibes. But we'll see, what are your thoughts on this?

Ok so MY THOUGHTS on this:

Do I ship them? Yes. I thought they had amazing chemistry, and were uniquely good for each other. Matt has a lot he can teach Jen about balancing these two lives, and Jen can help him stay light and not get too locked up in his own head. They understand all the lawyer-ly ins and outs the other might deal with. I loved them. I'll read 50k pounds of fanfic about them. I'll get a fucking ART PRINT, I love this ship.

BUT BUT BUT: do I see this as a permanent couple thing canonically? No. I don't see that happening. I'm with you, and I think they're heading towards friendship, potentially with a few more fuck-buddy moments until one of them ends up in a serious relationship with someone. Part of this is the Los Angeles - New York distance divide (they both need someone far more present), but I got the feeling with Matt's character, yeah, they're leaning into Matthew Manwhore Murdock, so he's going to roll on. They'll both have no hard feelings, and and maybe they'll wish it could be permanent (because dear god Jen needs a good guy like Matt, and Matt can at least SORT OF recognize what a healthy relationship might feel like), but I think this will indeed wind up a one-two-three-time thing.

I could be wrong, obviously! I love them as a ship, but I recognize canon goes its own way and I'm fairly c'est la vie about ships. I was happy to ship Matt and Jessica Jones too, and god knows that never went anywhere. 😅
