This is not a rant, however …

I’m mildly irritated that Donghae’s recent drama has such poor ratings.

I know that the romance/romcom genre prevails in kdrama but not every drama has to follow that pattern.

Some dramas are very predictable, they don’t care about suspense, it’s more about the look of everything.

With the exception of Panda and Hedgehog, all of the other dramas/series Donghae participated in were not your typical kdramas. Oh Youngshim was maybe closest but since it was based on a webtoon it missed some key elements.

I think it’s safe to say that Donghae, while loving slipping into different roles, isn’t your typical male lead either. Even compared with other idols, I guess he would feel too embarrassed to act like Lee Junho in King The Land, D.O in 100 Days My Princess or even Suho in Rich Man Poor Woman (for me one of the tamest performances by an idol in a kdrama).

And I’m asking myself, is that a bad thing? Must every male lead actor be Prince Charming? Must every kdrama be a Cinderella story?

I was very excited about Donghae’s drama and counted down the days until it premiered. I have watched all 7 episodes so far. Yes, it’s true, not much is happening, yes, sometimes I wish they’d focus more on Jung Hyeon-seong and Han Seong-ok’s storyline and less on the supporting actors’s. I wish not every episode would end on a cliffhanger, but that’s how the writer thinks the story should be told. I’m hopeful that by the end everything will be revealed.

Having said that, I wish the viewers would watch the drama with an open mind and focus on what they see instead of what they want to see.

I know that drama means exaggeration, everything is either seen through rose-colored glasses or it’s the end of the world, but every now and then there’s a more realistic, more close-to-life story and it should be celebrated likewise.

That what this drama does. Showing that life is tough, relationships are tough and the dreams you had an a young adult may fade away as you grow older. There’s no glamour, no grand gestures. Sometimes it’s even plain and monotonous because that’s what life is like sometimes as well.

(Also I’m reading comments about how viewers call Donghae’s character a red flag and I don’t agree with that either. There are always two sides to a story.)

I will continue watching and hoping that the end will bring a smile to every character’s face.

And I will continue to support actor Lee Donghae in whatever role he feels comfortable slipping in 🥰

GASP i do listen to kpop!

For girl groups I mainly listen to Itzy and Twice - my biases there are Ryujin and Dahyun respectively

For boy bands i like Super junior (although that's uh. definitely an outdated taste sldkjfsldkfjsdlf), Astro, and Stray Kids - From SJ Donghae's def my favorite, from Astro it's MJ (silly boi I love him sm aaaa) and in SKZ I've gotta go with Lee Know

HOWEVER I do love listening to J-pop, anime ops and eds, obviously enstars songs, the Obey Me! character songs, uhhh hypmic tracks, and songs/covers by Mafumafu and Soraru

I like Latin American music too! Fav artists are Shakira, Alvaro Soler, and Renata Flores

Ch3; Ch5

Chapter 4

I went to join everybody after I recollected my surrounding on where I am, with makeup on, just to see on how everyone else would react to my Emerald Green eyes. But I can’t ever shake the feeling of being yelled at for not being awake at a certain time, I walked into the living room, sat in my chair, trying not to look at anyone. When I looked, it was just the K members, that's right, the group is somewhat divided into 2. EXO M and EXO K, great, now I can bond with half and someday I can do the same with the other half of the group. Kai was the one who sees a major change, "Hey, have we established that it's impossible for us to change our eye color?" "Why do you ask?" asked Sehun. He pointed to my sparkling green eyes, I looked around, "What's wrong with them? I can put my contacts back in." "Wait you were wearing contacts to hide those?" I nodded, Baekhyun asked, "Why did you hide those?" "I can't figure out why I started to hide these to begin with," I said, "I've been told that I can never be loved with these eyes being this color." "So much for being honest with us," said Chanyeol, "We want full honestly." I was shocked, "How can I be if I'm beginning to? Remember what I said yesterday, you are on thin ice, Chan."

After that, no one bothered talking to me, great, I've lost trust from them, I went to the building to bury this hurt that I have caused, I warned them. I went into the dance practice rooms where I walked into seeing 9 guys, one sees me, walks over to me, "You have beautiful eyes, have we met before?" "I'm with EXO," I tell him, "But you look familiar actually. Are you the one that they call Lee Donghae?" "Indeed, I am," he said, we both bowed. Oh great, I'm in the prescence of Suju, maybe this is my time to get some growth, "Hey, I have a couple questions, and it's extremely important." "I might have answers," he said, "But everyone might hear your questions." "How do I tell my group that I'm trying to be honest by giving little piece of information about my traumatic childhood?" "Traumatic? What are you talking about?" asked Donghae. I sighed, "I hid my eyes because someone told that I look like a wh*re for how highly pigmented my eyes are." "Whoa, that's very harsh for someone to tell you that," said Leeteuk, "Did any of the members tell you this?" "No, a woman who is in jail for life told me that," I said to them, "She never loved me for being her daughter, she always abandoned me ever since she thought that she had me wanting to become someone who sleeps with a lot of men." "Oh whoa, that is very heavy," said Eunhyuk, "Are you sure that you are ready for this?"

"Somehow I feel so loved around you guys," I said to them, "I am just as surprised as you all are." I was never this talkative towards my own group, maybe something about them made me feel so protected, Kyuhyun asked, "Would you like to join us for lunch?" "Sure, if you guys don't mind me tagging along," I said. He goes, "I wouldn't have asked if we didn't." "Fair point," I said, "What should I say to my group when they walk in?" "Nothing, let us handle it," said Leeteuk, "You are healing from a traumatic childhood, and we are making sure that nothing bad happens to you. If you feel like you are getting a sense of paranoia, come to us and we will help you out." I jumped for joy, well, inside anyway because I finally have an escape to release this all inside of me, I followed them. Oh shoot, I was spotted by Baekhyun, he shouted, "Yah! Shadow!" "Damn it," I mumbled under my breath, Ryeowook sees my expression change from being full to empty, the guys walked up to me, I asked, "What do you guys want?" "Why are you with Suju?" asked Chanyeol, "They are not your group." "And? They offered me to go with me," I said, "Believe me or not, I am not your property so back off!"

"Wait, we didn't say anything along those lines," said Kai, "We should've rephrased that, guys, she needs to feel a part of this company, leave her alone." "Kai is right," said Siwon, "Leave her alone, she is with us." So off I go with Super Junior, go eat or something along those lines, I kept finding myself looking at the farmlands that this country has. Donghae sees this, "You live in the country or the city?" "I'm from the country part of America, I am always calm when I see any farming material or crop fields," I tell him. Then I hear a song from Josh Turner, called Long Black Train. I sang along to the song, we pulled into a driveway, Donghae opened up my door, "We are doing you a big favor. Natalie kept saying that you have a freak dream of becoming a farmer." I rolled my eyes, "I would rather not hear her name ever again." "Noted," said Siwon, "Can we have your number so we can keep contact with each other?" "Oh, well, of course," I said, then I gave them my only number that I set up for myself. Donghae nods, "We'll be nearby if you decided to join us once you are done with your favorite thing in the whole wide world." I giggled, I kept on walking towards the field of wheat, the owner that owns the land comes over, "Excuse me, miss, but I can't help but asking for your help with my field." "Of course, just lead me to the harvester and header, I'll take it from here," I said to him.

He nods, not arguing with me, I got in the harvester and began to wheat harvest. The smell of wheat is extremely calming for me I really needed this for a while, I was recieving a call from my personal manager, I turned off the harvester, I picked up, "Hello?" "Where are you right now?" she asked, "Your group is waiting for you." "I'm with Super Junior, why do I have to check in with you on what I am doing?" I asked. There was a silent pause, then I hear the CEO, "You are in a field of wheat, aren't you?" "Yes, sir, they dropped me off and the owner of the field offered my help," I said. Then he hung up by saying, "See you later then." Then Siwon messaged me saying, that they are settling on what I should be doing, I'm sorry, I thought I need to tell them on what I need help with, not tell me what I should be doing. I called the manager back, she asked angrily, "What do you want, Kimberly?" "I don't want my own manager, since I am going to be doing my own thing, what is the point? It's not like you get to force me to be in a certain genre of music without my say so," I tell her off, "I'm going remain in the Rock genre until I get tired of it, you don't get to say I can't otherwise, first Natalie now you? What are you, her sister? Or mother? What is going on here?" She was dead silent, the CEO asked, "What were you planning, Manager Belinda?" "Why are you defending her?" she asked.

"Uh, excuse me, do you realize that you talked back to the CEO? The man who can fire you if you mess up on something," I said to her, "As a matter of fact, what happened to the manager that was assigned to me? I do not like this tone with you, Miss Princess." "How dare you speak to someone who is higher than you?!" she asked. I widely grinned on what I just made her do, "I'll hang up now." I hung up and continue to harvest the wheat field, I saw a van pull up and it was my favorite manager the one who assigned to me, she saw on how calm I am being while harvesting the wheat. Once I got done harvesting the wheat, I dumped everything into a trailer of an eighteen-wheeler, I parked the harvester where it was originally, gave the farmer the harvester keys, he thanked me, "Can you take the grain to the mill? I'll pay you half of the money that is given to me." "Oh alright, you don't have to do that, I'm doing this from the kindness of my heart," I tell him. He insisted, "I've heard that you had nowhere else to go, it will be my most pleasure of putting you in my will of getting my farm business."

It surprised me that a farmer is wanting me to look after his farm when he passes, I always wanted to achieve my goal in farming. I called Donghae, he answered, "Hello?" "This is the right number? Am I talking to Lee Donghae?" I asked. He answered, "This is him speaking, Miss Shadow, are you willing to join us?" "I was letting you know that I am going back to the dorm of my group, thank you for letting me relax and become myself once again," I said. He welcomed me, I went to my best friend, my manager, "I'm ready to head back." "May I say this, but you have the most beautiful eyes," she said, "Why were you hiding them?" "I was told that I would never be loved with these kinds of eyes," I tell her, "I was called so many names that this woman kept calling me, she knew every trigger that she inflicted upon me, that woman, I can never forgive for what she has done."

Devastation! A Love Letter to Mystic Code

Few months ago, LucyDream announced that Mystic Code will no longer be available, and true to their word, it’s no more on the App Store.

This is the third otome game I’ve every played in my life -- I played Mystic Messenger and @lucydreamgame ‘s Dangerous Fellows prior to this -- but this game was the first one that grabbed my true and full attention and affections.

A sad thing for those who never got to play it. 

And to this day, I look back fondly on the wit of the story, the charming characters, and the passion and thought put behind each forked decision. Heck, it made a full reboot to upgrade the experience! 

No otome game I have played since then has quite so raptly made me return to play it each time.

Which is why now that it is officially gone, and “spoilers” are basically now a nonentity, I’m going to pay homage to this game on my tumblr. 

On my laptop I’ve written lore, headcanons, tidbits, and scenarios of the characters and the Mystic Code universe that I thought would never see the light of day... but now it will be gazed upon under a glittering spotlight.

Lee Donghae (SuJu) Drabble - July 5th (12:09 pm)

“Why are you so tense?” you teased your husband from your spot on the hospital bed taking note of how stiff his arms were as he held your the newest member of your little family.

“I don’t want to drop her or hurt her,” he whispered, not taking his eyes off of her.

“I think you’re more likely to drop her or hurt her the way you’re holding her right now. Relax and come take a seat here with me.”

He moved at a painstakingly slow pace in your direction, sitting down at an even slower pace than the one in which he moved. The minute he was settled comfortably beside you, you cuddled close to him leaning your head on his shoulder as you looked down at the little girl that had caused you so much pain over the last 72 hours.

“I still can’t believe she’s this little when I was so huge. Do you remember the kicks she would do? I was sure she was gonna be born a little boxer.”

Donghae smiled at the memory, “She was rather active wasn’t she?”

“And now look at this delicate little rosebud. All innocent and cuddly.”

Your finger naturally reached out stroking her rosy cheek causing her to open her mouth making the two of you awe at her cuteness. Despite only being a few hours old, you could already see the many features she would grow into that would lead to her being nearly identical to her father. At that moment Donghae placed a soft kiss on the top of your head, his arms much more relaxed than earlier.

“I can’t wait for the boys to meet her,” he whispered. “She’s going to be the most loved and protected little girl on the face of this planet.”

You smiled at the thought, “I agree, but let’s hold off on introducing her to them for a while. Just while we get the hang of things and settle into the reality of being a family of three.”

Donghae smiled, leaning down and pressing the most gentle kiss he’s ever laid on anyone to her forehead.

“You don’t suppose we could keep her a secret forever, do you?” he suddenly asked.
