Harry woke first from the sun streaming in through his bedroom window, he groggily rubbed his eyes as he lifted the covers and planted his feet down and letting his toes wiggle in the fluffy rug by his bed. Standing up he stretched, tilting his head as he does before heading out of the room and down the hall. On the way he passes by your room with the door slightly ajar, he glances in as he walks by to see you haven’t woken up yet. Making his way down the stairs and into the kitchen he sees his mum fiddling with something on the counter while his dad seems to be helping from behind, arms wrapped around hers, both smiling and giggling away
“Morning” he chirps catching the attention of his parents
“Morning honey” his mother smiles brightly
“Hey little man” his father says with a similar expression, pressing a quick kiss to his wife’s cheek before moving away and sitting down
“What’s for breakfast?” Harry asks as he takes his usual seat, sitting right back so his legs dangle off of it
“Pancakes…well there will be pancakes, we weren’t expecting you up so soon” James lets out a chuckle “Y/n up yet?” he inquires to which Harry shakes his head
“Well honey while dad makes pancakes why don’t you come with me and we’ll trim your hair” Lily suggests
His eyes light up nodding quickly and following his mum through to the living room. He weirdly loved getting his hair cut, to start he hated it because it made him all itchy when the hair stuck to his neck and his dad used to do it for him. Not that his dad wasn’t good at it, it was more he was rather chaotic and Harry just didn’t match that energy as well as you did, his sister, so you and he switched, after that he loved it as he got to spend quality time with his mum
“Sit down honey while I get the scissors” Lily gestures to the seat she pulled out, placing it on the hardwood so hair wouldn’t get stuck in the carpet
As he sat down he wiggled on the chair to get comfy, soon his mother returns and wraps a little cape around him before beginning to pull some of his hair between her fingers and trim along it
“So what do you want to do, it’s a gorgeous day outside” his mother says as she continues to trim the back, little clumps of hair falling softly on the floor by her slipper clad feet
“I’m not sure” Harry shrugs to which earns him a light scold to ‘stay still’
“Well your uncle Sirius and Remus called earlier and suggested a BBQ” she informs him as she moves around to the left side of his head
“Oh” he lifts his head to look at her before cringing “Sorry mum” he watches her giggle at him motioning with her finger to keep his head straight
“So, does a little barby sound alright? We could even see if your Aunties Dorca and Marlene want to join” he can feel her smile as she says their names
He resists the urge to nod his head “Yeah! Can you ask uncle Sirius and Remus to bring their dog?” he pouts at his mum with big doe eyes, he really liked their dog but he never got to see it often
Lily lets out a little giggle as she moves to trim the front, taking some of the hair and holding it up high and to the side as she speaks “I don’t know honey we’ll have to see” he sees her giving him a knowing look like she knows something he didn’t, but be doesn’t have time to think as the hair lands on his nose to which he tries to blow it away and fails wiggling his nose as he tries not to sneeze
Lily leans down and brushes the hair out of his face gently pulling on the ends to check they are even “My handsome little man” she leans in and nudges her nose with his, a habit she had done with him since he was a baby “Okay honey almost done” she says moving to the right side of his head continuing to cut
As he looks forward he can see his dad in the kitchen preparing the pancake mix, he smiles as he sees you walk up and pull on his sleeve. Watching as he kneels down to your level and you whisper something in his ear before giving him that little look filled with a smidge of mischief which means you were planning something
“Lily love?” James pops his head through the door “I’m going to take y/n up to get her hair cut” he smiles
Lily stops cutting and looks up “Okay…hi sweetie” she peers down at you whose head is poking out from behind James
“Hi mum” you say before turning to Harry, giving him a big smile, ‘what are you planning’ he mouths to you, to which you mouth back ‘you’ll see’
Tumblr media
Your eyes slowly fluttered open as you gripped the quilt closer to your chest, stretching your legs out as you wake. Lazily looking around you let you a little yawn before lifting the covers and swivelling your legs out. Gliding your feet into your slippers you stand up grabbing your cardigan, well actually it was your uncle Remus’ and it was huge but he let you keep it since you loved it so much. Walking out you head down the hall to go annoy Harry, pushing his door open you saw his bed empty so you headed down the stairs instead.
As you made your way to the kitchen you saw through one of the adjoining doors Harry getting his hair cut, how could you forget, you had it marked on your little calendar for weeks. You quickly walked into the kitchen seeing your dad mixing something so you tug on his sleeve to grab his attention
He stops what he’s doing and kneels down in front of you straight away “Morning my little fawn” he smiles brightly at you as you beam back, loving the nickname even if you didn’t fully understand it
You shuffle on your feet “Dad?” your voice goes up at the end
“Yes?” he matches your energy and copy’s the tone
You glance over at Harry and your mum “Can you cut my hair differently than usual?” you ask pouting as you sway
“What you thinking?” he looks at you intrigued, you never really did anything different always a trim keeping it long like your mum
You lean in and whisper “Can you cut it short?” gesturing discreetly to your shoulder “Like auntie Marlene and then when I curl it will look like Uncle pads?” you bite your lip looking at him to see if he’ll grant you permission
He tilts his head almost confused as he thinks before a big smile takes over his face “Sure” he nods making you light up “You want to do it now?”
Tumblr media
As your dad prepares the chair, getting out the scissors and comb, you rack through your drawers for a picture, smiling as you find it, it was one of your mum and Marlene taken before you were born.
You hand it to your dad “Like this please” you say eagerly
He chuckles as he takes it admiring it for a second before nodding and gesturing for you to sit, before he makes any cuts he kneels in front of the chair “You sure?” he asks but you know he already knows the answer
“Yes” you give a confident nod
Your dad moves back, wetting your hair with a spell before brushing through it. He then pulls out a few hair ties and splits your hair into four even sections, securing them just below the length you wanted. He then makes the big chop, you try to keep your head still as the excitement grows. After he cuts another he moves to the front giving himself fake pigtails with your cut hair which makes both of you laugh.
As he finishes cutting off the length, he starts picking up the hair in smaller sections, lining with the comb as he adds some layers for volume
“Keep your head really still, okay?” he says as he moves to begin shaping the front smiling dearly at you
As he finishes he runs his hands through the front sections of your hair, getting you to stand up and lean your head back as he checks everything is perfect before casting a quick spell to dry it “Can I look?” you ask
“Yeah” he nods
You walk over to the little mirror in your room, a huge grin on your face as you see your new do, you look so different but in the best way. Turning back to your dad you run up, he seems to know what you’re doing and drops down to his knees to give you a big hug
“You like it?” he asks as he pulls back
“No I don’t like it” you say with a cheeky pout “I love it! Thanks dad” you throw your arms around him again as you pull back you ask one more thing “Can we curl it?”
“Of course”
Tumblr media
Harry was currently helping his mum bring out the plates as his Uncles arrived, both offering their hand by bringing out the pancakes, toppings and juice although they did cheat by using magic. He took a seat at the table, his mum on his left and Remus on his right, while Sirius sat alone opposite
Remus looks over at him and his mother “Where Prongs and y/n?” he tilts his head
“She’s getting her hair cut…although they are taking longer than usual” she notes
“I think I know why” Sirius nods for them to look back at the house
Harry looks around first, smiling as he sees his dad and you with your new hair “WOW!” he exclaims jumping up and running over
You look at your mum, seeing her look shocked before a pleased smile appears on her face but you don’t have time to see what your uncles think as your brother reaches out to check touch your hair “You like it?” you ask a bit nervous as his opinion meant the most to you
“I love it you look so cool! You think I could pull off longer hair?” he asks pulling the ends of hair down a little
“No” you say straight away making your dad bark out a laugh while Harry scrunches up his nose and wiggles it in false annoyance
You then run up to the table hopping up next to Sirius as your dad take a seat on your other side and Harry returns to his “You like it mum?”
She nods “You look so pretty sweetie” she says giving you a warm smile
“Cutie pie” Sirius adds giving you a light nudge
Remus hums in agreement “It looks great, what inspired the change” he asks kindly
“I found a photo of auntie Marlene and I thought it would look cool” you answer
Soon you all had eaten and Harry insisted even with a belly full of pancakes that he wanted to fly around on his broom, to which your dad soon run off to join while your uncle Sirius took a seat next to Remus first. You watched as he took a bobbly off his wrist and put Sirius’ hair in a half up and half down style, after he was finished Sirius turned around and gave him a quick kiss before running off inside to grab one of your dads’ spare brooms
You looked down at the bobble on your own wrist, standing up and walking around to sit with him while your mum was going to greet your aunties as they would be arriving any minute “Uncle Moony?” you look up at him
“Yeah pup?” he smiles
“Can you do my hair too?” you hold out the hair tie “Like uncle pads” he lets out a chuckle nodding as he takes it, you turn around and let him split your hair and up it up just like he did before, as he finishes you turn and give him a big hug, which he returns right away “Thank you!”
“You’re welcome pup” he says before glancing over at Sirius the two seeming to have a similar idea in their head

A completely unhinged discussion about every one of Chloé's outfits and how I feel about them:
under the cut because it's too long
First up, Chloé's childhood outfits. I will admit the details are hard to make out. In the first image she's pretty much covered completely in a cloak. All we can really see of her dress is the sleeve but I think the sleeve is cute. Solid 5/10 Chloé outfit. Nothing noteworthy but perfectly serviceable and I think she looks cute bundled up in a cloak.
Then we have the dress she's wearing while her father promises to make her human. I like dark colours on Chloé and the dress does suit her but again, not many details that can be made out. I like the collar that can be seen briefly in one panel but I'm not a fan of the headpiece really. It's cute though 6/10
Tumblr media
Next up, this outfit is only seen very briefly in one panel. It's what Chloé wears at her father's bedside when he dies. Chloé's wearing a light shawl/cloak and a dark dress, neither of which can be seen particularly clearly. 0/10 this makes me sad and there aren't even any cute/pretty details.
Then there's Chloé's mourning outfit after her father's death. It's a simple black dress and a veil. I really like the veil honestly, it looks super pretty in my opinion and the dress isn't bad either, I like the detail on the collar and the little white ruffles at the sleeves. It's probably Chloé's simplest outfit and that makes it stand out as quite unique and interesting. Still, -100/10 this makes me even sadder than the last outfit I never want to see her wear anything like it again.
Tumblr media
Next up the dress she was wearing when she met Ruthven! I love when she has ribbons tied around her neck so that the ends can billow dramatically behind her! Top notch for when she's being more threatening. The ribbon does lose points though for looking potentially scratchy/uncomfortable according to my sensibilities anyway. Of her outfits this looks like one of the warmest ones, potentially because she's carrying a really lovely shawl most of the time when wearing it. I like when she looks comfy and the shawl is very good for that! Maybe this is just a manifestation of my desire to wrap Chloé in a warm blanket? Anyway, the details on the bottom of her sleeves and around the white part at her shoulders are a nice touch that I'm really fond of. I like the puffiness of her sleeves too and the little flower on the front of her dress is cute. 8/10 great outfit, very pretty.
Tumblr media
This one only appears in a few very small panels but nonetheless I am unreasonably fond of it. It shares some elements with the previous dress but is clearly a different outfit. The sleeves of this dress are pretty, I like any that have ruffles at the bottom and the neckline of her dress also pleases me. The shawl is nice and again plays on my desire to see her rugged up and safe. I am extremely in love with the little bow around Chloé's neck, it's incredibly appealing. 7/10 love this but can't see enough of it to rank it higher since these are the only panels it shows up in.
Tumblr media
Next outfit! From the time she met Jeanne and one of the outfits she was most consistently drawn in! Point one in its favour, it's dark and I've already stated that I'm biased towards dark dresses on Chloé. Really I love everything about this to be honest. The necklace and choker combo is so pretty and it may be my favourite of Chloé's many neck accessories. I like the lacy collar of her dress and the bow with the rose in the middle too! I absolutely adore the sleeves on this dress, they just look so cool to me! The sleeves are potentially my favourite thing about this outfit ngl. I also think the dark cloak she wears on top of it briefly looks quite nice, it seems really soft and warm. Also there was a very brief flashback that I think involved this outfit (based on the sleeve) in which Chloé was wearing gloves and I don't know why but I'd really like to see her wearing gloves more clearly now. I just think she'd look cool. Overall this outfit is 10/10 perfect I am incredibly enamoured with it.
Tumblr media
I've said I like darker colours but regardless I still think this one suits Chloé perfectly well and am not docking points for colour. First off, my favourite Chloé shawl, it's so big and flowy! Looks warm and is still very pretty. The skirt of this dress is really nice. I love all the bows and the way the layers are separated. It's beautiful! Chloé's choker is one of the ones I'm less fond of. I think I just dislike the beads over the top of the fabric? Not sure. It's still very pretty regardless. The sleeves on this dress are awesome too! I like how wide they are at the ends but also the beaded bits higher on the arm that match her choker. This outfit is very well coordinated and it looks amazing! 9/10 superb
Tumblr media
Next we have an outfit that upfront is being judged more harshly because it is solely associated with Chloé in one of the worst states she's ever been in and therefore gives me bad vibes. I enjoy the cape attached to this dress, it's very dramatic and adds a cool flair to this. Also stands out because neither Chloé nor any other character has worn anything else quite like this to date as far as I can remember. I like the bow around her neck and all the bows running down her chest too. They're cute! But also they may be a bit much for me? Makes the front of her dress look very busy. The sleeves are top notch though. I love them. Some of the prettiest sleeves Chloé's worn. Not sure if this is just me but something about this dress doesn't feel Chloé enough. It looks good on her but somehow feels like it suits her personality less than some of her others. 7/10 gorgeous but the vibes throw me off.
Tumblr media
Next up is pretty much all she's drawn in throughout the part of her backstory connected to JJ. The only instance in which she wore this without a cloak was when she was still putting it on to go help Jean-Jacques after he became the Beast but I haven't included that panel. She wore a few different cloaks with this outfit that looks pretty similar, though my favourite has to be the one with the ruffles on the hood. I just love it! Though the one with the soft looking hood and bigger bow is a close second. I enjoy the sleeves on this dress, the ribbons tied around them are cool and I'm partial to how they flutter around. The dress itself is pretty, I like the darker part of the skirt in the middle and the details at the bottom of the dress. The bodice of the dress is also nice, I appreciate the buttons running up it. I don't have any particularly strong feelings about Chloé's choker in this outfit but I like how it matches the rest of what she's wearing. A strong 8/10
Tumblr media
We have three panels of Chloé in her nightgown and all of them make me sad. It looks cute and the detail around the collar part that I can see is nice. Unfortunately, this is hampered by the fact that Chloé was in a terrible state of mind while wearing it and there aren't any super clear pictures. If Mochijun ever drew Chloé in a nightgown again and she didn't look horribly depressed it would go up the rankings greatly because it would be very cute and I'm weak for Chloé looking cute. For now though 2/10 is the best I can give it because it upsets me.
Tumblr media
Last up Chloé's main outfit. I love the ribbon at her neck that billows behind her dramatically and I'm equally enamoured with the big bows at her shoulders and waist. They're so pretty and they blend in with the rest of the dress seamlessly. The lacy parts around the sleeves, the bottom of the dress, the neckline, etc. are really cool, I like how they flutter around and they just generally look incredible. I love the skirt with the little roses and the slightly lighter coloured parts that break up the blackness. The rose on Chloé's chest is also very pretty, I adore how Mochijun coloured it in the volume 6 inner cover. This outfit also has the best Chloé shoes, I love her boots so much (no, I did not talk about the shoes in her other outfits. Yes, I could have. But these shoes are the only ones that matter!). The sleeves on this dress are top tier as well! I like how they flare out at the bottom and the bits at the shoulders. It's just so pretty! This outfit is stunning, jaw-dropping, the pinnacle, 100/10 I am in love with it. Is it boring to pick the main outfit as the best one? Maybe, but it simply is the best. Objectively. Because all my Chloé opinions are correct.

Chapter Twenty One: House of the Devil
My computer deleted everything I had written for this episode, so this is take two. Hopefully it’s as good as my original.
Tumblr media
We start with the sex montage. First up this cute black sweater/burgundy skirt. While very similar to the burgundy skater skirt Ronnie wore in the last episode, this is in fact a different skirt. It’s TV land, and in TV land people own almost carbon copies of the same item. I wish I lived in TV land. Other significant piece in this item in the navy velvet coat we haven’t see since the start of this season. I miss this coat. I LOVE this coat.
Tumblr media
More sex montage. Cute throw back to Ronnie and Archie’s first night together with her wearing what I’m 99% certain is the same shirt Archie wore to the Jubilee/Ronnie wore very shortly after that.
Tumblr media
Can we take about her underwear for a minute? I’m so used to seeing women on TV walking around wearing their skimpiest underwear as if women do that on a daily basis. While I’m sure that may be the go to for some, I feel like, for the majority, the idea of comfy high waisted undies and a bra that actually covers our breasts is what were more inclined to wear on a  day to day. I’m actually really impressed with the Riverdale costume department for showing that comfy can 100% still be sexy.
Tumblr media
Can we count a fur rug in an outfit analysis? How about the new pearl necklace? Not quite a pearl strand, not exactly a major statement piece either. It’s just different enough to be different, yet the same.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ah ha! Clothes! Actual real clothes! This dress will come back multiple times over the series, so get used to seeing it. I love the brocade floral pattern, paired with the slight scalloped collar and dramatic bow. It’s such an interesting piece that, paired with the go to tear drop pearl, constitutes a perfect Ronnie outfit in my view.
Tumblr media
The scalloped coat makes a return. There’s a lot of scalloping going on here.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Offft. I say that because I love plaid and that is the sound I made when I first saw this shirt on screen. The purple/pink colours work really well here and it’s definitely one of the brighter shirt we’ve seen our girl wearing. Paired with a simple black skirt, possibly the one she wore in 203 but don’t hold me to that, it’s an iconic Lodge investigative statement.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
IT’S ANOTHER CAPE! It’s BURGUNDY! This is everything to me. Ronnie’s investigating cape has had an upgrade and it is glorious. I like the idea that, since Ronnie is taking over from Betty in investigating this case, her usual investigation cape wouldn’t work. It’s almost too iconic Veronica Lodge for her to wear in an episode where she’s supposed to be playing the role of Betty. I literally only say this because we only ever see this cape one more time over the rest of the series so far and that feel like a crime against nature if it’s not for a story telling purpose. I need to move on from this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This ones interesting, because while it looks like it’s a shirt and a pinafore, it’s actually one whole dress which is very on brand for our girl. I think the professional nature of this outfit fits the scene, while I feel like you wouldn’t see very many high schoolers running around the halls in a crisp white shirt with a bow neck and matching bow pumps, this is very much the look for a Junior Detective which we know is the role that Veronica is trying to fulfil.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
WE SEXY AND WE KNOW IT! Ronnie is bringing the sexy out tonight and I am here for it. While not very easy to see this VERY low cut crop and plaid zip front skirt is a very different look for our girl. Have we EVER seen her in a zip front skirt? That comment aside, I’m OBSESSED with this whole look. The not pearl pearls, the heeled sandals, did I mention the leather trim? It’s edgy. It’s Biker Bar chic and that’s all I’m going to say on the matter.
Total: 10, including one rug, one underwear appearance and two counts of sex montage wear.
Ted Baker Count: Thirteen. I’m considering changing this to a Kate Spade tracker.
Tear Drop Necklace Appearance: Oh yes, she back and looking as good as ever.
Favourite Outfit: Biker Bar chic. I would wear that whole outfit in a heartbeat.

1980s Fixer Upper Home Renovation
Buying a 1980’s fixer upper requires some courage, but more than that, it requires a lot of vision, which can be a little easier if you aren’t afraid of some elbow grease and if you have a talented daughter to help you out! This is exactly what happened to this lucky mother who had her daughter, Shelby of Farmhouse Living, envision the new areas and improve the spaces that needed improvement.
This fixer upper felt outdated but had the perfect layout for Shelby’s parents and all they really needed to do was add new flooring, bring some cozy furniture and accessories (think layered rugs and slipcovered furniture and add a new kitchen – a space that Shelby’s mom can certainly feel proud to call her own!)
The interiors now feel approachable with coastal farmhouse influences and the homeowners are happy with how they turned out.
Find a comfy spot and who knows… maybe this might even inspire you to renovate a fixer upper some day!

Modern Farmhouse Interior Design Ideas
Having a blog for ten years is truly a blessing. I am so grateful for each and every one of you, my loyal readers and I am also grateful for all of the many interior designers, builders and architects I feature on the blog with frequency. It’s also fun to have new people on the blog from time to time and you will agree with me after seeing Erika Gervin’s work of South Harlow Interiors. Kitchen Trend: Wood Stained and Painted Cabinets
It’s really wonderful to have Julie Smith of Jula Cole Design (previously featured here) back on HomeBunch. I am feeling very inspired by this designer’s fresh approach and this kitchen design should inspire you, especially if you’re loving this new kitchen trend: painted cabinets mixed with stained wood.
It’s really wonderful to have Julie Smith of back on HomeBunch. I am feeling very inspired by this designer’s fresh approach and this design kitchen should inspire you, especially if you’re loving this new kitchen trend: painted cabinets mixed with stained wood.
Here, the designer shares more details about this kitchen renovation:
“This was a fully gutted kitchen and living room renovation. The home was stuck in the early 2000’s with maple cabinets and old-school granite. The clients were craving a fun tile which was the inspiration for the project. I chose a Tabarka tile with a fun pattern and built everything around that. I wanted to make sure I was adding lots of wood to add warmth and ground the space as the ceilings were more than 11’. The oversize pendants were another element we used to play with scale.” – Julie Smith of Jula Cole Design.
Kitchen Trend: Wood Stained and Painted Cabinets
This recently-renovated kitchen features a balanced combination of stained wood and painted cabinets with black accents.
Kitchen Cabinets
Wood Cabinets: Custom stained Alder and White Oak. The custom stain color took a few times to reach the perfect shade. I think that Julie has found a really special color for this kitchen. It feels modern, clean without being too trendy. I couldn’t get tired of it!
White Cabinet Paint Color: “Benjamin Moore Simply White”.
Refrigerator: LG.
Counterstools

Traditional Home with Classic Design Ideas
Hello, my friends. How are you doing? I honestly can’t believe Christmas is a week away from today! Oh, wow… I can feel butterflies when I think about it and yes, I am allowing myself to be like a child at this special moment of the year. I think that only children can feel the magic of Christmas and I am hoping to have some of that… I hope you allow yourself to have a truly peaceful and happy time with your loved ones, from start to finish.
I could talk about Christmas for a long time, but that might tire you and I am guessing you’re here to see some inspiring interiors, right? If not, leave a comment about your favorite Christmas traditions at the end of the post. I will love to know them! Meanwhile, I am really excited to share this gorgeous historic home renovation by Edward Deegan Architects and Interiors (previously featured here, here , here & here – find a comfy spot and make sure to see these house tours!).
If you think that classic and traditional interior design are boring, this home will change your mind! Sure, you will find some extraordinary architectural details that you’re only able to find in historic homes, but the design here really brings this entire home to the next level. Forget everything you have seen when it comes to renovations. This team knows how to keep things fresh and current without compromising on quality.
Traditional Home with Classic Design Ideas
Designing a spacious and practical kitchen in a historic home is always more complicated than anyone can anticipate, but the designers did an excellent job with this space. The entire room was completely reconfigurated and it now hosts a large kitchen with two islands, a Breakfast Nook and a large Family Room.
Grilles
This kitchen island features Butcher countertop and a panel-ready beverage center. Custom cabinet doors with metal diamond-shaped grilles and wire mesh add a timeless appeal to the island.
