I've rewatched the Owl House dozens of times now and my favorite scene (excluding season 3 because that shit is magical, pun intended,) is Hunter and Amity's fight at Eclipse Lake.
Earlier in the episode, Amity and Hunter have a chat where Hunter proclaims that they both have a lot at stake, unlike Eda and King. She attempts to argue but is interrupted by the sound of her Tamagotchi-Text thing, as Luz sends a text that Amity misinterprets as Luz threatening her with leaving if she doesn't return with the Titan Blood. Hunter almost directly after takes off and gets a massive head start to Eclipse Lake.
While Eda deals with the scouts and Kikimora, Amity chases after Hunter with King by her side. She enters the room to have this exchange with Hunter.
"Don't worry. I won't pick a fight. There's no Titan Blood."
"Then why are you digging?"
"Oh, it's simple really. Belos needs Titan Blood to make a new portal key. Can't get to the human realm without it."
"There's blood in the key?"
*Amity tightens her grip around the portal key.*
"Since I failed my last mission, I thought, 'Hey, a chance to make up for it.' But I can't go back empty-handed. Not again."
Hunter is noticeably hysterical, laughing between almost every sentence he speaks.
"Long story short, this is my grave. Want me to make you one too?"
"This is really bumming me out." King says simply.
"That's just life, rat. Everyone has a use, and if you don't pbtpbt bye-bye! Your friend gets it."
With the help of King, Amity finally learns how to interpret the text. Luz had never even thought of leaving her awesome girlfriend. Almost immediately after realizing, she becomes almost as bright and sunny as Luz is. With a burst of inspiration, she decides to give Hunter the best message she could think of.
"I grew up thinking that everything was an opportunity to justify existing, but there are people out there make you feel worthless. You just have to let yourself meet them."
She offers her hand, but unfortunately, Hunter notices the key sticking out of her coat, and a battle ensues. Hunter is sweating and incredibly anxious, which shows with the way he fights. Hunter keeps dashing around, making magical sparks fly everywhere. Meanwhile Amity is holding a poker face as she almost effortlessly dodges and blocks every one of his attacks. Every attack that she throws out has a very obviously calculated plan attached.
Hunter eventually tears the key away from Amity and they end up cornering each other. Despite that, Amity still very clearly has the upper hand, with a blade pointed at the neck of the battered Hunter that is caked in abomination goo. Hunter desperately thinking of a way out to give the blood to his uncle, tells Amity, quote;
"Listen, you're strong, and I'm tired. if this continues, you'll probably escape, but here's the thing: We know where to find you and your human. So just hand over the key."
Hunter's threat to kill Amity is completely empty, as they just displayed, Amity clearly has the upper hand. But Luz? The last time she saw her she was sick out of her mind and incredibly delirious. So Amity finally slips, the key cracks as her grip tightens, spilling half the blood. Hunter wins and slips away with the key.
This scene is so damn great because the emotions of the characters make perfect sense and intertwine with everything, we've known about them up until this point. Not to mention the music in this scene absolutely slaps ass and the animation is top-notch.

So I was thinking about Izzy and Stede's duel lately and what I think most interesting about it is that though killing Stede isn't "on the cards" and Ed really deeply emotionally cares for Stede at this point even if not perhaps romantically, he still allows Izzy to carry on the duel.
And by allows I really mean that like, yes he told Izzy that they weren't doing it and Izzy said: "no you're not doing it, so I must." I really do believe that Ed had insisted or demanded that Izzy not do it, Izzy wouldn't have- though not without consequence. Because Ed is always always the one who has the power in that dynamic.
But he doesn't stop it. He turns away. He waits for Stede to get killed. Though why is this? I think it falls into the line of Ed being a very unreliable narrator, even to his own feelings and emotions. He plays a good game of not caring (because by and large he needs to), but he feels deeply, and I think is deeply afraid even here. Because if he confronts Izzy, if he makes Izzy stop, if he forces it then he risks breaking that relationship-- one of his oldest. And though Ed and Izzy have their issues, they're still bound together. Siding with Stede means that he's siding against Izzy. And then what? If he breaks with Izzy he has Stede left and though Stede says he's Ed's friend, that's a hard thing to trust. (and when he believed it, when he allowed himself to trust fall, all he hit was an empty pier. There is really no one for him at the end).
However, letting Izzy win or lose on his own merit, even if Ed loses Stede (which even Ed in some small part feels like it's a better thing to do- a better thing to let go of) that means that he can lose Stede without guilt. That he can let him go without guilt. And, if by some strange twist of fate that Stede wins (which I don't think Ed believes) then the break with Izzy is Izzy's own fault. He named the stakes and he lost. And though he ends up breaking with Ed anyway (sort of, but not really) there's still the part Ed can say: You did this to yourself.

of course ted is afraid to be close to henry. his dad died by suicide & ted never knew something was wrong. and he loved his dad so much. and losing his dad strained his relationship with his mom. mae said (was she quoting something 😭) our parents fuck us up. they give us their flaws & then pile on a few more they didn't mean to because of their flaws & issues (their insecurities, what they have yet to heal, ways they haven't learned to grow...)
he doesn't want to let henry down the way his parents let him down (or in a brand new way he didn't even think of), and he can't bear to lose his son in whatever way he will. losing his dad crippled him. and he is so like his father (and mother) he hasn't been able to see another way. especially on top of the divorce.
but just like ted has been helping the team & beard & roy & nate & rebecca — they've all been helping him too. to me, this was practice for ted to go home & be the dad henry deserves. which is really just ted, but ted had a lot of healing & growing & believing to do.

i don't think some of y'all understand how significant it is that annabeth chase, the leading lady in an IP/brand as big as percy jackson, is played by a black girl. she is not some sidekick or comic relief. THEE annabeth chase, one of the wisest, intelligent, brave demigods and love of percy jackson's life, is played by a BLACK GIRL!!
but you're so hateful and caught up with book inaccuracies and changes that you can't even offer a sliver of hope for things to improve in continuing seasons, and instead immediately resort to wishing the show gets cancelled because they didn't do that specific thing in that specific scene in the books. makes me think there might be another underlying reason as to why you want it to fail.
and before someone starts, this isn't to say you can't have criticism, but if you really love percy jackson, why wouldn't your hope be for things to get better?
"i hope this show gets cancelled" yeah girl fuck you
