Literally this weekend we made two paper wallies for the coloring book that came out on Tiktok, WE NEEDED TO MAKE OUR CHILDREN

So My friend was not happy with the design that appeared, so I did it in the clown style and man IT IS THE SAME STYLE I love it

There were no special cutters to cut more precisely, so I bought it for him, the best thing is that when the meeting ended his brother casually bought him cutters and he was like "bruh"

Your post made me realise that I see Izzy as 24/7 regressed just fluctuating in age, he's Like That because he's a 7 year old with adult responsibilities, and as much as he'd rail against having the adults take over his stressors and gentle him all the time so he can just be a happy kid, it is exactly what he needs, he isn't gonna go down quietly though

like he's a grumpy shit... because he's a child dealing with violence and danger and an intense workload managing an entire crew as well as the person who really should be managing him.

he spits and he snaps and he grabs and he pulls and yanks and snatches and yells because he literally has no other way of expressing himself. 90% of the time he's not in the right headspace to realise he could explain himself, he could ask, he could wait, he could get Ed or Stede, he just knows there's pressure on him and he needs to get it off of him.

the likelihood of him ever accepting help from any of the adults is.... pretty slim, but if anyone ever managed to pull him, kicking and screaming, from his responsibilities and give him even a tiny bit of the gentle care and help he needs it would benefit him so much.

of course, he's not going to let that happen, because he firmly believes that he is not a regressor and would never need to regress or have a caregiver or anything like that, but on the off chance that it does?

For the first time in at least ten? twenty? years, he's not completely squashed by his responsibilities to take over everyone else's responsibilities and then manage Ed and all of his responsibilities, and he's finally able to relax and just.... be chill.

So after what was probably hours, if not several days worth, of screaming and kicking and fighting and then a fair bit of tears, he's calm and happy and holding as tight as he can onto Ed's arm until Ed has to use a chamber pot and is forced to pry Izzy off of his arm and onto Stede's.

By the time any of the crew catch a glimpse of him, he's calmed entirely and is happily trailing around behind random crew members and hauling around one of Stede's miniature mannequins and asking politely for a second serving of dinner and telling Pete as nice as he can to please be quieter because his ears are hurting, and the entire ship is completely bewildered and suddenly very aware of the situation at hand.

also I think once the general consensus that Izzy is a chronic (?) regressor spreads across the ship, a lot of his aggression is just treated like a toddler ramping up to a tantrum.

like he pulls Fangs beard and then Ivan's hand is around his wrist and is gently prying Izzy's fingers out of his beard and telling him "Hey, we don't do that. That's not nice. Use your words." Which of course makes him more cranky until he simmers down and ends up very sleepy and getting a midday nap in Stede's bed.

The next time he's yelling at a crew member for not securing the sails or tying reliable knots or swabbing the deck, oluwande or one of the captains will come down, get the information out of a very wound up Izzy and calmly reassign jobs so that everything gets done properly, since regressed Izzy kind of can't communicate his stress and worries without snowballing into anger and physical aggression, and then Stede or Ed will take Izzy to go get calmed down in private and come back for an apology (from both parties) once he's calm enough to be able to ask for help communicating.

once some of the stress is taken off of his shoulders (i.e. the crew start picking up their workload) Izzy is way more chill, and if that work gets done correctly? it's smooth sailing.
