I Got You Babe - LN

Request from @tommienoir - lando takes reader with him to karting in bahrain. She watches from the stands as he films with the 2019 rookies. He's tired (inspired by the clip where he looks really sleepy as he watches oscar kart) and reader notices and goes to him to ask if he wants to leave. Reader run her hands through his curls and he gives her a loopy smile. But eventually they leave and lando falls asleep on her lap on the way to the hotel (cue cute fluff)

PS I know what clip you mean, but I like the gif of all three drivers so I wanted to use it for the image.

Also it's short, but I hope that's ok.

Y/n is like anyone else who is a fan of F1, she looks the 2019 rookies content. But recreating a karting race, y/n is rooting for them.

They spends quite a while bickering about qualifying before finally getting on with the race.

It's fairly obvious who is playing into the entertainment (Alex), who is there to just win not caring about entertainment (George) and who has the worst engine (Lando).

The race itself has everyone laughing as they watch from the sidelines. George's engine does him the favour, but Lando and Alex lose interest in playing fair with their disadvantage and begin cutting entire parts of the track only adding to the entertainment.

Lando gets the win and points at y/n shouting "this win is for you baby". Y/n just laughs shaking her head before they begin to bicker about who actually won with George calling for penalties.

Lando is generally the quiet one when it comes to the three rookies. Maybe because he's the youngest, or just because that's how he is. But when Alex and George begin to bicker about George's engine, Lando gives up and moves over to y/n.

"It's going to be a late one." Lando mumbles earning a smile from the young woman.

"Yeah, it's looking that way, isn't it?" Y/n smiles before she kisses him softly. "Are you ok?"

"Yeah...when Alex went over the gravel it kicked a rock up and hit my neck." Lando mumbles making her frown before almost aggressively pushing his head to expose his neck.

"Lando...that looks sore." Y/n grimaces then sighing softly while he hums wringing his nose a little bit.

He's eventually called back over to them, giving her a quick kiss before he takes off and y/n sighs feeling like there's something off with the man. He just seems...off and like he's not really in the mood to be here.

They finish up and Lando ends up moving to watch the McLaren team in their bonding karting session with Oscar. Y/n sighs as she moved quickly to jog over to the post that Lando has perched himself on.

"Hey, baby." Y/n smiles handing him his water bottle. "Are you-Oh-"

Lando places the bottle down and pulls her close and nuzzling his face into her tummy through her top.

"Baby?" Y/n frowns running her hand through his hair.

"I'm so fucking tired." Lando groans earning a small smile before she laughs and continues playing with his hair. "I'm not leaving till the team wrap up."

"I think they wouldn't mind if you wanted to leave early. They've seen you." Y/n tries since Lando is never really like this. His mood can shift sometimes but never because he's so tired that he just feels it like this. "Come on, there's no point in getting all caught up in it. Let's get you to the hotel."

Lando sighs but nods and follows her from the perch, heading to the team that isn't out on track. They exchange goodbyes and Lando tells everyone to enjoy the rest of the evening before they head off.

There's someone else driving them so Lando takes the opportunity of lying his head in y/n's lap as they drive. Her hand automatically goes to his head her gaze mesmerised by watching herself play with his curly strands of hair.

When he relaxes down against her, she smiles knowing he's without a doubt fallen asleep on top of her. Especially with the sensation of his hair being played with. She might as well have just pressed an off button on him.

Y/n sighs looking at him for a moment as they pull up. As much as she'd love to have his ability to just pick him up and carry him like he does with her when she falls asleep, she can't.

"Lando, baby. We're at the hotel." She states moving her hand to rub his arm a little thankfully stirring him and successfully waking him up from his sleep.

She does manage to drag him from the car, thanking the driver and any time that they stop, like waiting for the lift and waiting for her to open the door. Lando is leaning on her from behind, nuzzling his face into her neck at any opportunity before she finally guides him to sit down on the bed.

"Alright, rockstar. Let's get you ready for bed." Y/n smiles placing her palm on his forehead when he goes to lean forward and nuzzling into her stomach again, instead pushing him back so he's lying on the bed with only his legs hanging off of the bed as she reaches her hands to undo his jeans.

"Well I'm awake now." Lando states with a small but still very tired smirk.

"Perv."

"You're the one undressing me."

"Yeah, and you're the one too tired to actually get excited about it." Y/n laughs finally getting his jeans off with a couple yanks then sitting him up and pulling his t-shirt off. "Alright, just need to brush your teeth and then we can curl up...you can go to sleep. I' going to find something to binge watch for a bit."

"Not tired?" Lando frowns looking almost confused as to how she's not tired.

"Not yet. But I wasn't karting and bickering with other people." Y/n laughs then moving to kiss him lightly. "Come on, stinky."

"Stinky?" Lando snorts as she turns for him to follow only for her to have her ass slapped.

"Ah, Lando." Y/n giggles making a grab for both his hands to prevent any further smacks.

"We'll have a quick shower since I'm so stinky."

"I'm just saying, if the heat bothers you so much, you could cut your hair" Nancy points out, after declining Eddie's pleas for her spare scrunchie.

Robin sits on Nancy's lap, clutching the back of Steve's seat and she looks at Steve through the side mirror like she's afraid that he's about to go on a mission to defend Eddie's honor or something but Steve rolls his eyes at her. He's not that gone.

Or at least he knows how to hide it well.

Eddie's lost several of Nancy's favorite hair accessories and two weeks ago she bowed to never lend him any ever again.

Which, does not stop Eddie from asking her anyway at least once a day.

But the point is, even if Steve wanted to, Eddie's honor cannot be defended in this situation.

Nancy's leaning behind Argyle's back now to glare at the metalhead. Steve can see them in the rearview mirror.

Eddie gasps "I would never" he says, clutching his chest dramatically.

Steve secretly breathes a sigh of relief.

Johnathan chuckles at the wheel. "But you could" he comments, eyes on the road.

Steve can see Argyle subtly laughing and shaking his head out of the corner of his eye.

Today is a rare occasion, Jonathan is driving them in Steve's car.

The goal of Steve's rant earlier about having to drive them everywhere was to get Eddie to drive them, so Steve could sit shotgun and watch Eddie drive.

Instead, Jonathan had offered first and then Steve couldn't go in the backseat because he's in charge of their map.

But whatever, this is fine too. He trusts Jonathan and it is nice to get a break and to be able to fully turn around when he's talking to someone in the backseat.

"Jon, I would lose all my sex appeal, you don't get it" Eddie answers, getting a box of Twinkies from one of the many bags they packed and placed on the floor of Steve's car.

"I get it" Argyle chimes in, watching Eddie pull out a Twinkie and shaking his head no when Eddie offers him one.

"You'd still be sexy with short hair" Robin comments from her seat on Nancy's lap.

Everyone turns to look at her.

"What?" she shrugs "I can say that"

Nancy chuckles into her shoulder.

Steve opens their map again to stop thinking about Eddie's 'sex appeal', even as the guy is excitedly munching on a Twinkie in the backseat of Steve's car.

He's got cream in the corner of his mouth and he clearly put more in his mouth than he can comfortably chew. He's leaning one elbow on Argyle's shoulder, his hand holding half a Twinkie, his other hand holds his mop of hair up in a high bun, causing his cut off tank to sit barely covering his nipples, his tattoos on display and his armpit hair fully visible.

Steve's fairly certain nobody else in this car would get it, but to him the sight is mouth watering. The guy is practically irresistible.

"I don't think i would've gone on even half the dates I've gone on if i didn't have my hair" Steve muses, for something to say and to add to Eddie's point, even though he agrees with Robin.

Almost everyone answers with agreeable noises, except Eddie and Robin.

Robin snorts and says "You are relentless"

While Eddie says "You don't get dates for your hair" at the same time. In a tone that suggests he thinks this is an obvious thing.

"I mean- it doesn't hurt" provides Nancy, she sends Steve an apologetic look but Steve waves her off. It's a compliment as far as he's concerned, he loves his hair.

Eddie finishes his treat and opens a new one while everyone else gives their opinions.

"For a lot of people, hair is a big part of attraction" Jonathan is saying, trying to seem like he's not speaking from experience.

"Especially hair as luscious as Steve's" Argyle agrees, leaning forward to lightly comb the side of Steve's hair, making him laugh.

"Thanks, man" Steve says overlapping Eddie's response.

"And I agree!" he exclaims "I'm saying he doesn't get dates because of his hair." Eddie goes on, waving his new Twinkie around for emphasis. "People throw themselves at Steve, and always will, but it's not because of his hair" he repeats.

Steve feels his cheeks heat up but still asks "Then why?"

"Well, because you're very pretty!" Eddie answers easily, like everyone should already know this.

Steve keeps his eyes carefully trained on the map, like he needs to study it meticulously, right this moment, while they're in the middle of a highway.

His cheeks are burning up and he can feel it spreading to his ears.

"And that's if they don't know you!" Eddie continues "If they do know you they know you're kind and brave and strong ...and generous and funny. Who wouldn't want all that in a date?" Eddie finshes.

Oh I don't know, you? Maybe? Do you? Steve thinks.

"Even bald, people would still go crazy for you" Eddie adds, his words slightly muffled towards the end as he shoves almost all of the new Twinkie in his mouth but apparently thinks better of it, biting all but a small piece.

"Here. You want the rest of this?" Eddie offers Steve, talking through his mouthful, and presenting the small piece with his ringed fingers, right in front of Steve's face.

Without thinking, Steve leans forward and takes it with his mouth, his lips burning where they touched Eddie's fingers.

As Eddie retrieves his hand Steve realizes what he just did and how quiet the car got.

He sends Robin a panicked look through the side mirror as Jonathan awkwardly clears his throat.

"Argyle's got nice hair" Robin tries.

The car immediately fills up with enthusiastic agreement and Steve slowly breathes out.

He can't bring himself to look at Eddie as he chews on his bite. He practically licked Eddie's fingers. Unprompted! The guy probably meant for Steve to grab the treat and then eat it. If he even accepted it at all!

Steve feels like an idiot and he frowns at the map again, willing himself to ignore the goosebumps in his arms and the tickling on his lips.

He doesn't see Eddie worriedly staring at him for the remaining of their conversation, until Nancy takes pity on him and offers up her spare scrunchie to distract him.

steve harrington has powers

and they will be revealed in s5

steve’s power reveal has been hinted at from the very beginning, and now we’re in the final season, all our waiting will have paid off, and his status as an escaped child from the lab will play a key role in defeating the upside down and vecna for good.

first things first, let’s think about two factors that define steve as a character. ask any fan, no matter how casual, about steve, and they’ll know these two things; he gets into fights every single season and his hair is a key part of his character.

steve’s hair plays a role in his character arc.

as steve grows fully into himself as a character, his hair changes with him, becoming longer, wilder, less neat and styled. his hair represents his growth within his current arc.

who else is a character with an arc that can be well represented by their current hairstyle? eleven.

as el’s hair grows, we watch her figure out who she is as a person, learn to style it, grow and even lose it. this is no coincidence.

steve’s hair growth is directly tied to his status as a lab child. his rejection of the abuse he faced growing up can be seen in the care and attention he directs towards his hair. as he becomes a more fully developed character, who is learning and changing as he interacts with more environments, his hair changes with him.

not to mention that steve using women’s hairspray and stying products for his hair clearly show that he was raised outside of the bounds of normal gender roles. he has no issue with using woman’s shampoo and condition because he wasn’t taught to. his ideas of masculinity don’t revolve around social expectations, much like el.

steve’s fights are the biggest indicator of steve’s abilities.

or rather, should i say the aftermath of those fights.

we watch steve get obliterated in a fight scene every single season, and yet not five minutes later, he’s walking it off! he has zero repercussions of these fights. no headaches. no scars. no lingering wounds.

he routinely throws himself back into the fray. no matter how badly wounded.

this is NOT an accident, nor was it a choice made so that the duffers could beat up their favourite punching bag and still use him as a key player in fights. it’s obviously there as a hint to the audience as to the true nature of steve’s ability.

now, it’s fairly obvious where i’m going with this: steve has accelerated healing as a result of the experiments performed on him by hawkins lab.

now, you might just say, “so what? he healed from battling humans.”

but it’s so much more than that.

steve fought and was eaten by upside down creatures.

no other character has survived that. no other character carries wounds and scars from surviving a run in with a demo-creature.

bar one.

eleven.

coincidence? of course not.

steve is the only character that wears a wristwatch in near every single scene he’s in.

not only is his watch constantly on, it’s takes a prominent place in key scenes. the duffers want you to look at it.

why else would they refuse to show his wrist in every single scene? they don’t want us to see what’s underneath. so what could the duffers be hiding under there? his number.

and the number, god it’s so obvious. STEVEN. SEVEN.

i mean, it’s staring us right in the face!!!

steve’s past

now, this point is so obvious, everyone can see it: we’ve never even met steve’s parents.

the only teenage character from prior to s3 whose parents we haven’t met. we don’t even know their names.

in fact, tommy and carol even seem used to the fact that steve’s parents aren’t home. implying that they’re never there. because they don’t exist.

we’ve seen his house! and yet… empty. the room is blank. there’s nothing in there to even suggest it is steve’s house. he has no personal effects.

every single other character has identifying objects in their room. but not steve. why would the duffers do this? because they’re hinting to the audience that steve doesn’t belong there.

there’s not even any reference of steve prior to the beginning of s1. jonathan? we see flashbacks. nancy? we get mention of her playing dnd years before. all the party have pictures. we watch max’s childhood memories play out.

and yet. the closest we get to characters remembering steve in their own past, is steve from the year 1983. naturally, that isn’t the year that steve escaped the lab, but it does bring up interesting questions about steve living on the edge of hawkins population. he may have been the most popular boy around, but it seems no one truly knew him.

steve didn’t go the college.

and it’s not because he didn’t get in.

steve was getting c’s in classes nancy found difficult.

steve was in at least two different sports (basketball and swimming), he was a lifeguard and co-captain of the swimming team. that takes work and dedication, and it looks good when applying to college.

to be in all these sports, steve had to have been getting above a certain grade level. certainly high enough to get into college.

the duffers know that steve could’ve gotten into college, so why would they make it so obvious that steve is lying?

because steve didn’t apply in the first place. because as an escapee from the lab, he doesn’t even exist in the real world. he has no birth certificate, no records from being a child. attending some high school in the middle of nowhere would’ve been easy, but attending college? drawing attention to himself? steve couldn’t risk it. he knew he’d be found.

TL;DR

el and steve are purposefully paralleled to hint towards steve’s past and secret abilities. there’s a reason the duffers have never allowed prolonged interactions between el and steve, because they want to drag out the reveal as long as they can. there is so much more, but god, it would take forever.

we still don’t even know the full extent of steve’s abilities (i personally believe that steve has some variation of a charisma ability. i mean. every single character that’s disliked him has spent a very short amount of one on one time with him and immediately come around.) and we likely won’t until s5 finally comes out. and then the world will know…

As I continue my rewatch my frustration with the timeline of The Mandalorian is not eased by having two seasons under our belts or more information on the Children of the Watch because there’s a very central question that haunts me: Why does everyone act like Mandalorians not removing their helmets is the default and never mention any other way? To establish a timeline, centering the first season of The Mandalorian as year zero: - 28-31 years ago, the Clone Wars take place, which is likely when Din’s parents were killed and he was adopted by Death Watch - 11 years ago, the events Rebels takes place, in which Sabine gives the dark saber to Bo-Katan, who unites the Houses to rebel against the Empire - 9 years ago, the events of A New Hope take place - ?? years ago the Great Purge, the Night of a Thousand Tears happens, where the Empire wipes out the Mandalorians (this is likely somewhere around 10 years ago, but could be anywhere in this timeline) - 5 years ago, the Empire fell in the events of Return of the Jedi In the first episode, Mythrol asks if it’s true you guys never take off your helmets. In episode 2, Kuill says he’s never met a Mandalorian, he’s only heard stories about them (and their battle skill is implied). In episode 3, Paz Vizsla says that the beskar was from the Great Purge, the reason they live like sand rats now. In episode 4, Cara asks what happens if Din takes off his helmet, despite that he never told her that about himself, but she has no mention of any other type of Mandalorian. The thing is: The Mandalorians we know from The Clone Wars and Rebels were running around the galaxy eleven ago at minimum (likely less even!). And the Empire has been gone for five of those years. Which means, even if the Empire would have suppressed knowledge of the Mandalorians (and there’s no suggestion that they did, nor an obvious reason to), it wasn’t just within living memory, it was only a five or six year period where they would have had time to do so. So, within those eleven years, did the galaxy forget that any other kind of Mandalorian exists? The Children of the Watch were wiped out in the same Great Purge, so it’s not like they sprung up in place of other types of Mandalorians, and they’ve lived in hiding ever since. But are apparently common enough that people know they don’t take their helmets off, ever? I can believe that, despite that Din is fairly aware of the state of the galaxy (he knows the New Republic is a joke when Greef suggests reporting the Imperial remnants to them), he’s extremely unaware in other ways. I can believe that even when the Mandalorians were running around the galaxy eleven years ago and he would have been in his 20s at earliest, more likely in his 30s, that the Watch was all he knew, he’s not a chatty guy, and somehow he avoided running into any other Mandalorians during the years of the Empire before Bo-Katan united the Houses. What I’m forever ??? about is how do people around Din seem to accept his religious rules as the default on Mandalorians? Are we just supposed to think that everyone else knows most Mandalorians weren’t like that but don’t say anything because they know Din does follow those rules? Are we supposed to think that they were killed off and eleven years is long enough that nobody remembers anything but the Children of the Watch version of Mandalorians, despite that all of them would have been plenty old enough to remember? My frustration is that people seem extremely aware that Mandalorians exist and understand that they don’t take their helmets off, they’ve “heard the stories” or they know tidbits about them. I get that the Empire suppressed and changed knowledge of the Jedi, they had ~20 years of propaganda and Palpatine made a hardcore point of it because he didn’t want anyone else to have access to the Force. And if all knowledge about Mandalorians had been wiped, okay, sure, maybe there was a reason. But people are aware Mandalorians exist! They’ve heard the stories! They know details about Din’s version of Mandalorians! How do they know that, but nobody seems to be aware that Din’s not the default? Or are they just extremely aware of the difference between the Houses of Mandalore and the Children of the Watch and so they know Din’s different, but they’re not interested in asking about other Mandalorians, only Children of the Watch? I just don’t really see how the galaxy goes from what we knew during the Clone Wars and Rebels to the state of the galaxy re: Mandalorians in The Mandalorian. If nobody mentioned it and Din was unaware, sure, but multiple people around him seem like Din’s version is default and, like, JON, DAVE, I WATCHED REBELS, I KNOW THE STATE OF THE GALAXY, COME ON.

Egwene and Being "Ignored" in the Tower

SOOOOO.

I actually have a lot of thoughts about this and I think this is a very good instance of Egwene being an unreliable narrator in terms of what she thinks is happening and what is actually going on. (I was reminded of wanting to go on a tangent about this by a recent post.)

For starters, Aes Sedai are all very, very good at manipulation. We're not supposed to know in the beginning just how invested in Scheming they are, even though the text and to some extent the show tells us over and over. We're supposed to believe it's an exaggeration, playing on our own knowledge that woman are generally painted in a bad light when they have power. It's wickedly clever.

They're all a lot older than Egwene and have seen a lot of things. From the moment she put on that novice dress it was easy to peg her as someone who not only wanted to be one of them, but also had an instinctive need to be noticed. That shaped how they were going to train her.

Now wanting to be seen? That isn't a bad thing! Everyone likes to receive praise! But this is the tower. Part of their training is to break down the girls who enter and rebuild them into the image of an Aes Sedai and Egwene's obvious pride and need for praise are easy targets for them to start doing just that.

You can't tell me they don't have plans for her and you can't tell me any part of her novice training is unintentional.

For starters, as a fairly new novice she's cleaning the Amyrlin's study. I think this is a subtle way to remind her of her goals and aspirations, to see what she could be if she applies herself. This also allows Siuan to keep an eye on her - even when she's away from the Tower, Siuan naturally has other means of doing this through Leane or her personal staff.

Which Leane is doing. Maybe I'm reading too much into it but did she really need to carry that cup around just to toss it in Egwene's bucket? We see cups left all over the place throughout the episode, yet Leane makes a point to take hers to Egwene.

That she ignores Egwene while she tosses it is classic Aes Sedai behavior. Think back to the books - Moiraine conditions the boys after they've been away from her for too long by getting them to do chores until they don't question it.

By ignoring Egwene, Leane is able to both check on her and also help work on breaking her down a little. It's not malicious - it's just how they operate. Had she remained by the time she was Accepted she would have craved their approval and notice, and would be very loyal to the tower. That's just how conditioning works.

Madeleine Madden does a great job of showing all of this on her face and with her body language. She's a kicked puppy, arms crossed, curled in on herself. This isn't what she wanted at all. Why don't they notice her? Didn't Moiraine say she was special? She needs to work harder. Do better.

We next see her in Alanna's room, basically being treated as if she's invisible. On the one hand, it's shocking to a fairly sheltered country girl (Which Alanna very much knows - she tells us later she wants to get Egwene to be less uptight later in the weird meeting they have after the kitchen scene), but again, it hurts her feelings and sets her off-balance. Alanna does give her some notice, but Egwene is so uncomfortable she books it.

The first clue for the audience that she's missing out on the subtle ways she very much is being watched is after she passes the novices watching the warders. There's two blue sisters just casually talking in the hallway. As a viewer you might think that's normal, but why are they there? There's plenty of places to post up and they just happen to be in Egwene's path? Both of them take notice of her immediately, and presumably begin discussing her once she passes.

To Nynaeve she defends the Tower policy, even if she doesn't believe it, she's trying to believe it. And naturally all the spies in that kitchen happily report that back. (Liandrin later actually gives away the game, though Egwene is too upset and angry to realize Liandrin is saying outright she's being watched.)

Another way they're trying to break down Egwene is by using Nynaeve as a really big convenient stick. I dislike the term break because I feel like it comes off as negative, but I don't mean it that way.

To be an Aes Sedai she needs to be able to control her emotions, to hide what she's thinking. Right now she's too obvious and that's a weakness. (Although I think they want to break down her pride so another reason - she needs to accept that she's a baby compared to them and has a lot to learn. She doesn't have anything to be proud of just yet in their eyes.)

So, yeah. I don't think Egwene is nearly as invisible as she thinks she is to the women in the tower, she's just too young and not really away of the games going on around her yet. And I like that she doesn't notice, because she shouldn't. Not at this point in her life.

Okay, I finally got to watch the whole episode with subs and I have some thoughts. Short answer? Yes, I still think we’re heading towards a SandRay endgame. And here’s why:

Everyone seems to have come away from this episode mad at Sand, but I can’t for the life of me figure out why because Sand did nothing this entire episode except make it glaringly obvious that he’s not interested in Boeing. He was cordial, he was polite, but he never crossed that line between friendly and flirty. I think what people are mistaking as lingering attraction is actually just that caring personality his mom talked about at the beginning of the episode. In fact, Boeing says as much: “You never yell at me. That’s why I like you.”

This is just who Sand is. He doesn’t get mad at the people he loves no matter how badly they hurt him.

If Sand had tried to hide Boeing’s newfound presence in his life from Ray, I might be worried, but he didn’t. And I don’t think he had any nefarious intentions in sending Ray away when Boeing approached them at the bar. I think he was probably trying to avoid exactly what ended up happening because he has plenty of evidence to know that when Ray gets jealous, he gets passive aggressive (and suggests threesomes!). And it’s not even like he sends Ray away out of the blue. He only does it when Boeing starts playing games. “Oh. Sand didn’t tell me he had a boyfriend.”

I think Sand was looking for closure and knew it would be best to get it alone without having to worry about Boeing and Ray’s warring egos. But I do think it’s important to note that even when Sand and Boeing are alone, Sand defends Ray. Boeing says Ray clearly isn’t his type and Sand snaps back, rightfully saying that there are more important things in a relationship than how compatible you are on paper.

I actually came out of this episode much angrier at Ray than I was at Sand. I mean, you can kind of see what he’s trying to do—if you squint—but he’s going about it all wrong. He’s trying to show Boeing that Sand is his, that he doesn’t see him as a threat, and, as I said here, I think he’s also trying to show Sand that he’s willing to do whatever he has to do to keep him—even if that means sharing him with someone else.

The problem, obviously, is that Ray and Boeing are both treating Sand like an object here. Not a real person with real feelings. And Sand is rightfully pissed about it.

I suspect this problem will be resolved fairly quickly in the next episode. Sand is going to finally start yelling—at both Boeing and Ray—and hopefully Ray will learn that Sand doesn’t just want his money or his body. He wants him. No one else.

Honestly, the couple I’m most worried about right now is BostonNick. Don’t think I didn’t notice that Nick never actually said yes to being Boston’s boyfriend. He gave him the exact same runaround he gave Daddy Dan earlier in the episode. I think we’re heading towards a right person, wrong time ending for them, which I don’t completely hate. They both still have some growing left to do.

"Hey... can I ask you something?" Kunigami asks while running his hand through your hair. You've been cuddling with him for a while with your head resting on his chest. "Sure, what is it?" You raise your head a little to look into your boyfriend's eyes. The blush on his cheeks is more than obvious as he tries to find the right words. "Well uhm..." He stutters a bit, but then clears his throat and continues. "We've been dating for a few months and... I was wondering if you're ready for the next step?" Kunigami doesn't have to say the word to let you immediately know what he means. He's wondering if you're ready to have sex with him. "U-uh..." Your face gets even redder than your boyfriend's and you try to hide it. You always knew you'd have to tell him you're asexual at some point, but something always held you back from it. "Is everything okay?" Kunigami asks in a very worried tone before he cups your cheeks with his hands and makes you look at him. So now, you have no other choice than to tell him what you've been afraid of for a while. "I'm actually, uhm... s-sorry for never telling you but, I'm asexual." Kunigami's eyes widen for a moment before he gets even more flustered than he already was, but now it's because of embarrassment. "Oh... I'm sorry for asking." - "No no it's okay-" For a moment, everything is a bit awkward because neither of you knows what to say now, so your boyfriend pulls you into a tight hug and whispers into your ear. "I'm okay with that... I still love you the same, even without that stuff, you know?"

You and Chigiri have sleepovers fairly often, which always ends up with him lying on top of you with one of his hands on your chest. It's something you never minded, but today his hand starts wandering down to your waist and he's about to move it between your legs. "Uhh... Hyoma?..." You ask, almost whispering. "Maybe... not there..." - "Oh sure, sorry." Chigiri moves his hand away and wraps his arms around you instead, pulling you into a tighter hug. Since he already made the first move, you get the urge to finally tell him you're asexual. You planned on doing that a while ago, the right moment just never came. But you should better do it right now before your boyfriend tries making another hopeless move in the future. "Can I tell you something?" You ask as you sit up. Chigiri removes his arms from you and sits up as well, leaning his shoulder against yours. "Is it because I tried touching you down there? I'm very sorry about that." Chigiri takes a deep breath and sighs. "I should have asked first. Really, I'm sorry for doing that." You give him a soft smile and put your arm around his shoulder, pulling your boyfriend closer to you. "It's okay, it's not a big deal." You give him a quick kiss on the cheek before continuing. "So, uh... What I wanted to tell you is that... I'm asexual." Chigiri needs a moment to process that information, but he's not responding negatively in any way. He gives you a peck on the lips and looks at you with understanding in his eyes. "So... can you tell me your boundaries? I don't want to accidentally cross one of them again."

One of Aryu's favourite things is to buy new clothes for you and watch you try them on for the first time. Just today, he's getting a bit more touchy than usual while helping you put the clothes on. You've seen each other in underwear multiple times, so changing in front of him isn't much of an issue. He's helping you much more this time, as if he's looking for an excuse to touch your skin more. It doesn't make you uncomfortable, but you get a little worried that he might ask for sex sometime soon. After all, you've been dating for quite a while now. So after you finish trying on your new outfits and you've changed back into your regular clothes, you decide to sit down with Aryu to talk to him about your asexuality. As you sit next to each other, Aryu notices you getting a bit nervous so he takes one of your hands into his to calm you down a bit. "You can tell me anything, you know that?" He says in a comforting tone before giving you a kiss on the cheek. "I'll always love you." Your boyfriend's comforting voice makes you less nervous, so you get the confidence to tell him what's stuck in your mind. "I've wanted to tell you about this for a while. So uhm, I'm asexual." Aryu's immediate reaction is a soft smile on his lips before he pulls you into a hug. "Thank you for telling me..." He places a short kiss on your forehead before looking into your eyes. "I don't mind that at all. Sex isn't that important to me anyways." He takes a short break to think about what to say next. "Actually... I might be on the ace spectrum as well."

Raichi has always been fairly touchy with you. Never in a sexual way, but he just loves holding your hands all the time and prefers you sitting on his lap rather than you sitting beside him. And that's just how it is right now. You're sitting on his lap while you're scrolling through Instagram on your phone, just looking at memes and laughing at them together with your boyfriend. But in the meantime, you notice Raichi's hand gripping your waist a little tighter than usual and slowly, his other hand starts grabbing your butt. It's something he's done many times so you don't mind at all. Actually, it's funny to you, so you let him continue. Just this time, when you raise your head to look at your boyfriend, he immediately leans in for a kiss which he holds for longer than usual. And he's just about to use his tongue when- You quickly pull away the moment you realize that and turn your head away. First, there's a moment of awkward silence, but then Raichi speaks again. "That was too much, huh?" His voice doesn't sound embarrassed at all, but you can still tell he's worried about crossing a boundary. You don't really respond anything except for a nod and continue sitting there in silence for a bit. You're a little lost in your thoughts, looking at the floor while thinking about if this is the right moment to come out to your boyfriend. "Jingo, can I tell you something?" You finally look back up at Raichi, only to see his usual grin is gone and is replaced by a concerned expression. "What is it? Spit it out." He answers and pulls you a bit closer, making sure you're still sitting comfortably on his lap. "I'm actually asexual so uh-" - "Oh." Raichi stares into the air for a moment as he's thinking about what to answer. "So uh..." He pulls you even closer and rests his chin on your shoulder, "I really don't mind that but... you're still okay with me being so touchy, right? If not, tell me if it's too much."

*pretends to be an analyst like in the mcc subreddit* okay so do i think Cyan Coyotes will win

My main point here will be to compare MCC Underdogs Purple Pandas and MCC 33 Cyan Coyotes. Obviously my brainrot causes me to involuntarily compare a team that Bdubs was on and a team that Etho is on, however there are a few parallels.

First off, the most obvious one is FireBreathMan. He's an insanely good player, he's good at movement and PvP, and he's known for being ❗ Technoblade's sensei ❗ he also used to be an MCC tester, which, while a lot has changed since then, means that he has almost as much experience as a regular MCC player; and, after being in a few actual MCC's since then, would amount to a serious amount of experience.

Secondly, from my observations, Etho and Impulse are about on the same level in general Minecraft gameplay. They both learn quickly, are able to adapt and are smart and agile players. I would compare Bdubs and Scar in terms of skill as well, being only slightly behind their partners. That would mean that Etho and Scar would be on about the same level gameplay wise as Bdubs and Impulse were, BUT impdubs were both new to MCC, while Scar ISN'T, meaning scab could potentially be even better. I don't know how well Etho and Scar play together, but they certainly get along very well. I haven't watched MCC in a while, but i remember Scar's big problem being communication (when he went silent and the rest of the team didn't know where he was, how he was doing, what was happening, etc). I can see Etho communicating fairly well, but there's also a factor of being new to a THIRTY THIRD EVENT and getting a little paralyzed and overwhelmed, which WILL be an obstacle.

Now, Scott, FBM, Etho and Scar is a strong team with a lot of potential, and a similar team from before won the event, despite having 3 new players! BUT there is a key difference... In that MCC Underdogs, in which Bdubs, Impulse, FBM and Blushie won, was an MCC that only had people that haven't won yet. This means that, on average, it had less super good very competitive players. This time it's a normal MCC, which has more competition and more players that are a big threat (Fruit, Pete, Jojo, Purpled, Punz and Sapnap on the same team?!) Teams like Red, Aqua, Blue and Purple will be BRUTAL.

Do i think Cyan will win? No. Do i think they can win? Definitely. I don't think that's very likely. But i do think they will come in top 6. I predict Etho will be in top 35. He will do well in Grid Runners and Ace Race, maybe well in Parkour Warrior, TGTTOSAWAF and Sands of Time. I could see him do well in Battle Box, Sky Battle and Parkour Tag IF HE'S LUCKY. I don't remember other games.

But idc if all of what I'm saying is wrong!! I don't care if he's great at everything or if he sucks and comes 45th in a game with 40 players!! I just want to see Etho in a new setting that's unusual for him, and to see him have fun with his friends and meet new people :D my biggest wish for this MCC? have him join a few vc's at the end, when everyone is just chatting and discussing each others performance. Or others joining his vc would also be neat. I don't see him staying on for long, but imagine Cub, False, Joel, Impulse, Philza, Captain Sparklez joining to praise him???? That would be so sweet!! Maybe people who don't participate could also join the vc since they probably have access to it wink wink Bdubs wink wink actually i also want Bdubs in Etho's chat, and Etho replying to his messages once in a while. Usually it's Etho in Bdubs's chat, so to see this get reversed???? ONCE IN A LIFE TIME OPPORTUNITY, I TELL YA. Even if Bdubs ends up being too busy, he will definitely come watch at least for a little bit. Can't wait to see Tango and Skizz and Doc and Ren and perhaps some other friends in chat too. Can't wait to see them discuss Etho's first MCC afterwards. Can't wait to just. See Etho in MCC! It's wild that it's happening!!!! People have been speculating about him joining since the first events. It's actually happening guys. I'M SO EXCITED.

Edit: so, update, Etho won't stream apparently :( but hey! At least a part of my dream will happen right :D?

Things weren't totally serious, totally crazy all the time in his timeline

Before Raph and Donnie…moved on, everyone was fairly optimistic. I mean, sure, it was the apocalypse, but they had hope.

When Casey was little, all four brothers would take turns playing with him. While each one had very different interactions, they all universally loved doing one thing: tickling him.

After all the sadness, Big Leo still tried to keep things uplifting for the boy.

He rarely full-on tickled him, but a few light pokes or squeezes here and there were the perfect thing to put a smile on the teen’s face.

Big Mikey would abuse his powers and sneak up behind Casey, squeezing his sides or teasing his neck.

Occasionally, when the boy was really down in the dumps, holding his arms while Big Leo cheered him up with some tickles.

Lee:

Let's all be honest here: he's a lee. No matter how hard he tries, he always ends up getting his ass handed to him.

Not that he doesn't adore it, of course.

He sees it as a fun way to bond with his new family, even if they do tease the shell out of him.

Worst spots are his hips, belly button and armpits. He likes all of them, though his melt spot is his palms; the best snorty-giggles stem from there.

Bushiest boi, will turn red as fresh cherries if you tease him right~

While he loves tickles from the whole Hamato fam, his favorite lers would have to be Raph and Leo.

He never really got to know Big Raph, but young him is a giant, compassionate teddy bear. A teddy bear that also happens to have a night job as a professional tickle monster!

As for Leo, he'd always felt close to the blue-themed turtle. Besides the obvious connections to his Leo, the guy’s just fun to be around.

The jokes get him giggling, and he feels safe around Leo.

Reigning loser of every tickle fight ever.

He's won maybe twice. Once against a very sleepy Leo, and again with a partner.

Self-conscious about his laugh, but the fam works daily to try and help him jump that hurdle! -♡

Little pill bug: his first response to anything tickly, from pokes to full-on tickled, is curling up into a tiny ball.

Adorable to watch, and even cuter to hear his little squeal when you get to his spots anyway!

Ler:

Rarely happens, but he's still not bad!

Really giggly ler, likes to laugh with his lee.

Definitely gets flustered when someone asks to be tickled by him.

Again, rare, but it does occasionally happen.

He's afraid of hurting them, so only the gentlest of tickles and little scritches unless/until they ask for more.

When he does tickle someone, it's usually Leo, Mikey or April.

Leo is a sorta-undercover angst lord, and Casey likes to hear him laugh when he's bummed or overthinking things.

Mikey is just playful. He'll annoy Casey, mostly on purpose, and get what's coming to him. Other times, he'll be attempting to help the artsy turtle with his makeup and tickle him with the brushes. Intentional or not, I'll let you decide…

With April, it's almost always circumstantial. Dragged into a random tickle fight, Raph asking for backup, Donnie needing someone to do his dirty work.

April tickles him more than he ever gets her. Very few times does it happen, but he's capable of giving revenge tickles.

Doesn't usually tease, but he will compliment his lee's laugh and/or reactions.

“I love your laugh, it's so happy!” “Hey, don't be ashamed of the blush. Red's a good color on you!” “Was that a snort? No, don't hide it, that's adorable!”

It took a while to get to that point, but with self confidence and a whole family of support, he can finally start putting himself out there. Even if it is with something as goofy as tickling.

do you think that a lot of s4 critique (esp on tumblr) is coming from the tomgreg “field”? bc i mean - they all seem very disappointed with the way this season is playing out and, without meaning to be patronizing, i’d say unmet expectations like that can cloud (or at least colour) one’s general opinion on a piece of media immensely. we’ve all had it happen to us in some way at some point, so i get it but also…don’t shit in everyone’s müsli just bc a specific relationship didn’t happen in the way you’d envisioned :( alsooo tomshiv is much gayer than tomgreg could have ever hoped to be idc idc

it's something i've been avoiding saying directly, because it feels slightly dickish, but We Can All See With Our Eyes that there is a correlation between people heavily invested in tomgreg and people who are expressing dissatisfaction with s4. it's also fairly obvious that i stopped giving a shit about tomgreg over the course of the year+ of getting harrassed and finally getting my blog terminated for expressing mild criticism wrt patterns of misogyny in fandom. which i think entitles me to a little bit of dickishness.

the thing is, you can have whatever opinion on a show you want for whatever reason you want. it's fine to say you're disappointed in the relative lack of tom and greg this season, because that's what you were personally invested in. your emotional response to the season is your emotional response. full stop. a big part of why i've been enjoying this season so much is because i started watching this show after my dad died, and it's very cathartic for me to watch such a realistic and thoughtful depiction of grief in all its messiness and complexity. i'm connecting to these characters more than ever because i've been there. that's personal! that's subjective! that's okay!

what irritates me is: a) being disingenuous about the reason you dislike the season, b) in a way that implies disliking the season is the 'correct' opinion to have, either on a moral basis or because this season is objectively and uniquely bad writing/directing/editing, c) to the extent that it creates a noxious and unpleasant fan environment to participate in.

i understand where the urge comes from to defensively say "no, it's not just about my businessman yaoi, there is actually a high-minded, intellectual reason for me to spend all my time bitching." because yeah, there are people who are delighted to go fuck you anyone who cared about tom and greg, you were watching the show wrong, and that's aggravating.

deliberately misrepresenting your opinion as something with a more "rational" basis doesn't make you any better off, because it's laughably obvious when that's what you're doing, and it undermines your initial position, which was not inherently invalid in the first place. it's fine to be sad that the thing you personally wanted to happen did not happen. you can say that. you can call people dicks for being rude about it. it's fine. it's literally okay. we are all just saying shit online.

but you are just not going to be able to convince me that season 4 is overall badly written, or that it suffers from unique mechanical issues that were not already present throughout the show. it's not going to happen! d*sha redscare was literally in s3! the fact is that in a season where logan dies in episode 3, and if anybody tries to say that was a bad writing decision you know they're pulling it out of their ass, it simply Is Not Possible for tom and greg (who barely had a relationship with logan and so has fuck all to do in the wake of his death) to spend 15 minutes an episode engaging in slapstick routines. is it an awkwardly truncated storyline? maybe! but succession is littered with those, and that's because it makes the choice to prioritize its main story, which in s4 is more focused and thoughtfully written than ever.

i won't even touch on the queerbait discourse because i do not think queerbait has ever been a useful term and the idea of trying to apply that kind of analysis to succession is too idiotic to even bother engaging with. the virgin representationcel vs the chad [i will not talk about my politics on tumblr but i am a trans fag of color deeply disillusioned with most of the discourse on 'representation']. representation win! the chair of fictional fox news cheated on his wife with her cousin #gayrights. Be serious.

My Sexy Speed God Boyfriend - Charles Leclerc

Summary: Charles' girlfriend has nothing but praise for him following the Bahrain qualifying.

No part 2 requests please

Y/n already knows Charles will be absolutely ripping into himself for getting the fastest lap of qualifying overall but it being in Q2 so it doesn't matter.

But for now he's on the front row and she's about ready to scream in joy for him.

Charles does rush up to the team with his smile beaming and upon spotting y/n he kisses her quickly as he puts on his bracelets, watch and rings. Half of which are for sponsors, one of which he claims is a good luck charm from y/n.

"You did so good. P2!" Y/n grins while Charles smiles at her, the joy just radiating off of her.

Sure he'd prefer P1. But P2 is front row and he'll take that for now.

"Ok, go on. Go on." Y/n smiles getting one more kiss before he disappears.

Sadly waiting for him to finish media duties is a drag and she nearly scrambles to her feet seeing her boyfriend upon seeing her boyfriend approach.

"You got front row, baby!" Y/n beams making Charles laugh as she throws herself on him and kisses around his face before finally landing on his lips. "I'm so proud of you."

"I got my best lap in the wrong round." Charles mumbles earning a small sigh before she kisses him again.

"The first corner of the lap can change a lot. Maybe George can crash into Max and you will lead." Y/n jokes though she may just be praying for that to happen. "We could pay him off."

"Am I that bad?" Charles jokes earning a huff before she moves to kiss him a couple times.

"You are amazing, baby. Amazing!" Y/n states too proud of him.

It's fairly obvious Max is just unbeatable right now, he's in the best of his career and there's no doubt that Charles is the best of the rest in y/n's eyes. The matter of Lewis taking Carlos' seat means that everyone has begun to question what Charles will do both this season with his current teammate and next year with his next teammate.

"Alright, you go do your debrief. I'll be waiting and then we can get something to eat because you need to have something to eat." Y/n declares earning a small nod from the Ferrari driver.

Starting the year with a car that Charles doesn't look like he wants to toss away is so beyond an improvement on what y/n witnessed last season. She just wants a good season, he doesn't even have to be the champion. But a race win or two, if she's being greedy more than that, would be amazing.

By the time Charles is done eating, he ends up going back inside to talk to a few people in the team, moving around and rushing about to speak to different people and discuss things ahead of the race tomorrow and y/n begins to feel she has managed burned her energy up a little feeling slightly more drained.

She decides to just pass time sitting outside, it's getting cooler but she's quite enjoying the people watching. Though at some point Carlos appears and decides to sit with her.

"I think I should put money down on another Ferrari race win." Y/n comments to the Spaniard who she admittedly hates to see leave.

Despite what the fans want to paint a picture of within the team, Carlos and Charles are very good friends. They enjoy being teammates and while Charles is looking forward to having Lewis as a teammate, it hurts to see it come at the cost of losing Carlos. But that's F1 and that's "the business".

"Money down for both of us or just Charles?" Carlos teases making her smile a little.

"Both, I know where to hedge my bets and as much as I wish Charles had got a race win last year, I can't change the fact you were the one to achieve that miracle. I hope you always take pride in that too, like parade it around for the rest of your career kind of pride."

"I definitely will. We will do it again, and Charles will see P1 this year too." Carlos nods before tilting his head to look behind y/n making her turn and find her boyfriend walking towards her. "I think it is goodnight for the two of you."

"Hi, mate. We are looking good out there." Charles smiles fist bumping his teammate while looking at y/n and noticing her eyes are slightly puffy from just getting tired.

"Yeah, we'll just have to make sure we get in front of Max tomorrow and then we have ourselves another Bahrain 1-2." Carlos states since they've done it once, although that was before Red Bull had managed to make a car out of a rocket ship.

"That's the goal...I think it is time to get back to the hotel." Charles declares softly holding his hand out for y/n making her grab her bag and stand up from the seat taking Charles had while managing to give Carlos a one armed hug as she passes behind him.

"We'll see you tomorrow, Carlos."

"Yeah, bye mate. Have a good night." Charles smiles giving a quick fist bump before they head out of the paddock for the night.

Y/n is pretty quiet with them moving from the Ferrari unit, linking her hand with Charles'.

"I'm so proud of you." Y/n smiles almost dopily as she looks up at him while he opens the car door for her.

"I think I could take P20 and you would say that."

"I would...but this isn't out of pity or just to make you feel better. I really am proud of you for the front row." Y/n states before quickly pecking his lips while he leans on the top of the car door.

"Very kind of you to say." Charles chuckles before she climbs in and he closes the door moving around to the driver's door before he climbs in too.

Y/n manages to capture a video of her boyfriend in the dim lighting and posts it to her story with the caption of "my sexy speed god boyfriend" then tagging him in it since more often than not Charles reposts her stories of him and even gets upset when she doesn't tag just because sometimes he misses them being posted.

"I can't wait to see you back in the car tomorrow, all race ready and then out on track really in the race. Not just practice-although I do think you perform magic and miracles in qualifying. I think seeing you in race is something else." Y/n smiles always sort of ready to boost Charles' ego and encourage him however she can.

"All Characters Are Equally Important" Is Usually A Lie

There is another media thing I kinda wanted to talk about for a while and recently I came across this discussion again and I was like: "You know what? Now is the time."

See, when there is a media thing with a ton of characters, especially in TV, the creators will often claim that "all characters are equally important" and also "all characters are fair game for dying and bad things happening to them". But, okay, let's be honest here. This is pretty much always a lie.

While I never liked GoT (or the books) because of all the rape happening, I kinda had to put in that GIF because it was one of those examples. Even as someone not actively engaging with the fandom I stood there as the Red Wedding happened and rolled my eyes so heavily. Because there also was the claim that "all characters are fair game and everyone can die". It was fairly obvious, that this was a lie.

Because GOT had a lot of characters, yes, but it was fairly obvious who were the main characters and who were the side characters. And as such it was fairly likely that the main characters would survive at least till close to the end of the show (and the books). They could claim all they wanted that this was not the case. A lot of people called it out, and guess what? The characters who all those people named as the "main characters" did in fact survive till the last two episodes.

And while I also never at all got sucked into the LOST fandom, I recently had a lot of fun watching the Billiam reviews of the show. And apparently it was happening there, too. Where it became fairly clear fairly soon, who were the actually main characters, and who... well, was more easy to write bout of the show.

The thing that got me there, is with all the stuff happening with RIOT and LoL right now, there is this claim going around with Arcane, too. Especially regarding season 2, that will not be released before later next year. And sure, I get that for RIOT it is a marketing strategy and stuff to hype up the new season. What I do not get is, how people will argue that this is actually totally the case.

Like, look, especially with Arcane gaining importance in terms of the actual canon of the LoL verse, it is fairly safe that all champions are gonna survive in one form or another. Like characters such as Mel and Sevika can die, sure. But Caitlyn, Vi, Jinx, Viktor, Jayce, Heimerdinger? They totally are going to live. And be it just in a way of "Sure, they died. But don't worry, they got better."

And it is okay. It is okay that in a story with a lot of characters are more important than other characters. That in fact is just good storytelling. Because if you really were treating the characters all equal, it would be harder for whoever reads or watches your thing to get invested into the characters and kinda get really into the story. Because the main characters are the gate for the audience to enter the world through.

And sure, everyone who is active in fandom will tell you about this random background character they personally are obsessing over. But in general, yeah. People will focus on the main characters, which is totally fair. Because... Just logistically speaking, if you really were making 10+ characters equally important (or at times even 20+), you would be so held up with giving them all enough background and enough development, that the main plot would get lost.

Believe me, even as someone who somehow ends up writing stories with at times up to 30 characters... Even there I usually have more like 5-7 main characters, whose decisions drive the plot - and whose point of view is going to be the dominant one.

Yeah, alright, I get the frustration when your favorite character ends up being one of the side characters, who just do not get written out that much - or get killed just to hammer home how dangerous an antagonist is. But... It's just how it is. And, I mean... canon is just a suggestion ;)

So, yeah. My point is: Yeah, no, Caitlyn isn't going to die. Nor is Jinx. Or any other champion from the game. Not for real. There might be a fake out death, but... they will survive.

RWRB Essay Part Seven: Intimacy

Word Count: 867

I was absolutely blown away by the intimate scenes in this movie. I'm demisexual, on the the ace-spectrum, and I am not personally a fan of sexual content in film. This is mostly because it's usually poorly executed, unnecessary, or over-the-top. It pops up in places it doesn't need to be, and makes me roll my eyes or get pissed off.

Part of this frustration undoubtedly comes from my bias as part of the queer community, and I'm willing to admit that. I've developed a slight bitterness towards most portrayals of straight couples in media from it being shoved down my throat my entire life.

It was new for me to see intimate scenes with a queer couple, or rather a gay couple specifically. I have encountered lesbian sex scenes, like in Wynonna Earp. However, I had never seen two men together. I think the reason for this difference is fairly obvious, as it's been widely known for some time that lesbians are very often fetishized by straight men, who are unfortunately the majority of higherups in Hollywood. It is far more likely to have a straight executive sign off on a lesbian sex scene than a gay one, because to them, women together is "fun", while men together is considered "uncomfortable".

This is not to say that gay men aren't fetishized, because they unfortunately are too, but only to point out the disproportionate amount of lesbian intimacy vs gay intimacy in film.

The point being that I had never seen two men be intimate with each other on screen. I was nervous going in because of my issues with most sex scenes, but there was something magical about how they handled them in this movie.

Like I said, I hate when sex scenes are tossed in for no reason, but in the case of Alex and Henry, it is a core part of their relationship and its development. It was the first time I watched a sex scene start without going "here we go with the sex" with a sigh. Their sexual dynamic is part of their dynamic as a whole, that is a key element in becoming closer and understanding each other more.

The thing is, I say all that knowing that there is still a lot of "gays being horny" moments in the book, some of which making it into the movie. What was wonderfully done about that though was that the fast and aggressive encounters were limited. They didn't show any further than making out and the motion of taking off pants. All of those horny moments were handled perfectly to provide the right amount of comedy and yes, sexiness, without shoving it down our throat (pun not intended).

I personally don't need to see a guy giving another guy a blowjob in a romantic comedy film! Ace-spectrum or not, if I wanted to see that, I'd go to a porn website like everyone else. Romance and pornography are not the same thing! Having them go far enough for the viewer to know what they were doing without showing it was perfect.

That brings me to the sex scene. Yes, the work of art that is their first time in Paris.

I said before that a lot of sex scenes make me annoyed or roll my eyes, because most of them are just thrown in for the sake of playing to their audience. In this case, this scene was not for the audience.

I've seen several people say this, and I have to agree, that watching that scene feels like you're intruding on something very personal and it is the truest example of intimacy I've ever seen. It's the most graphic scene in the film, yet it does not show the graphic parts, if that makes sense. Yes, they're naked, and you know what they're doing, but they don't film them in a way that made me uncomfortable, aside from feeling a bit bashful because, I mean, have you watched the scene?

There's no showing of their genitals or private areas at all. It's almost entirely focused on their faces, and the few cuts to their bodies only include Henry's hand on Alex's back and shoulder, in his hair, and the two of them holding hands. This is because they're not just "having sex", but as Henry put it "making love". Yes, that's a bit of an old fashioned way to put it, but it makes far more sense than simply saying it's a sex scene.

It's not just "two characters have sex whoo!". They're not crazily fucking like porn stars. They're clearly going slow and cherishing each other. It's almost impossible to put into words how intimate the scene feels and how not like a sex scene it feels despite being one. There's only some soft instrumental as the background as well, not some pornographic moaning and whatnot that you might find in other movies or shows.

This is all coming from a demisexual who has no interest in sex and gets genuinely annoyed with how often it comes up in film. That is how different this scene was. Their intimacy coordinator, Robbie Taylor Hunt, deserves a huge bonus.

the truth is that Jk is very affectionate and most members share fond looks, hugs, back rubs and praises. And so are most of us irl. We hug our parents, we cuddle with our siblings, we are affectionate and caring with our friends. And at the same time we do all that with our partners too. With the exception of mouth to mouth kissing and actual sex, all else is the same. So why are anons so confused? Don't try to find the difference in counting the actions, the answer is not there. The difference is in two places:

the energy of the action

the response of the other person

Please tell me you can't feel the difference for example in a hug between Jk and Hobi and Jk and Tae. Jk will hug Hobi in a burst of love and appreciation that screams platonic feelings. Hobi will smile and pat him and will end there. With Tae it is not the same.

In Taekook there is two people. Tae AND Jk. Why you always try to "prove" only Jk? Tae reacts to his touches and responds. He plays with his hair, his ears (the ONLY actual ear kissing we have seen between members was in that Festa), he puts his fingers inside his shirt and caresses his naked skin, he shows lust while looking at his body and lips, their stares are long and charged with sadness/emotions/love and hide silent conversations. Their relationship creates confusion in the fandom and even gp and locals. They hide most of their private trips (remember when Tae took Jk with him when he won that trip in that Japan show?), they hint to something more between them (remember the infamous bv Malta photo of jk that tae took and he has talked about how special it is to him and even made it in the life goes on mv?) and they feel like they must keep eo a secret (remember when tae came live from his bedroom and as soon as we heard jk singing from the other room he panicked and stopped the live. he came back to admit jk was there. why panic?).

Sigh. Its so obvious..

Hi anon! Jepjepjep! It is so difficult to explain (for me anyways) because we talk about differences in levels of intimacy and familiarity... and how do we show those? It's comparing best friend/sibling behavior to that of romantic partners, but all those are actually close bonds that are shown through familiarity and intimacy. Especially when we also take into account that Tae and Jk hide their romantic relationship.. it's so tough. I always think everyone who wants to try and see should just watch multiple (and by that I mean a shit ton) of footage. Because it is all there, and people are able to grasp it... but it just takes looking at a lot of footage. It takes a good understanding of BTS members and their characters in general. And it takes a good understanding of social context as well as BTS specific context.

I don't think I'm always only trying to prove Jk. I think both of them show a lot. Most people ask about Jk though, because to them (especcially this last year) it is only Tae doing the Tkkry. So if I seem to have been using more Jk proof, that's probably why (I honestly can't even remember all my posts on this at this point).

I'm fairly cautious using the words 'it's obvious'.. because I mostly think it's obvious once you've understood everything. But it is there... it's most definitely there.

I'm just so fascinated by the fact that Eddie, who hasn't known Buck for as long as Bobby, recognized and verbalized that Buck sees himself as expendable and therefore acts as such Bobby thinks (or want to believe?) that Buck feels indestructible and reacts/responds to Buck's self harm and constant near death experiences as such.

Also, Eddie understands that Buck needs to be useful/helpful to everyone all the time, so he went "You wanna be useful? Ok. Help me out, then. If something happens to me on or off the job, I need someone to take care of my son and I only trust you to do that" and honestly, props to him for figuring that out and then proceeding to give Buck a way to be useful to him and a reason to not die.

And, like, if the situation were different, I would probably just say Bobby could have, should have properly communicated with Buck that he just didn't want to watch him nearly die again (which is perfectly reasonable and understandable and everything!) so that Buck could've kindly reminded him that a doctor, a literal entire trusted medical professional who knows what they are talking about, cleared him to go back to work and that he let Chim get back to work a month after he took a fucking rebar to the fucking skull.

But, I mean, you also have to remember Bobby saw both of his kid's corpses and watched his wife die right in front of him so he's already got that trauma and that he's a recovering alcoholic and alcohol negatively affects your emotional intelligence (and so / does trauma) so in that way it makes sense why it didn't occur to Bobby to just tell Buck why he wasn't allowed to go back to work, but he's also just... A human being, so he's going to mess up and make bad decisions sometimes that will usually be fairly infuriating and what he "should've" done will be obvious to the viewers, but maybe not so obvious to him.

But also, back to Eddie.

Eddie.

Mr. Diaz.

Sir.

You yelled at Buck in the middle of a grocery store about him neglecting to still spend quality time with your son who had you especially stressed out at the time having reoccurring tsunami nightmares during the lawsuit. So stressed out, in fact, that you managed to physically fight a man over a parking space, get arrested for it, get bailed out by Lena because he couldn't call Buck about it, join an illegal underground fighting ring, and nearly kill a man in said illegal fighting ring. Because you missed Buck and needed his help and support at that time.

Eddie. Sweetie. You literally played The Son Card with Buck, like, as if you two were divorced parents having a custodial disagreement in the middle of a fucking grocery store because you missed him after asking Buck why he couldn't "just suck it up", which Chim told you was harsh. Sweetie.

But with the parents Eddie has and the added army trauma, it really does make sense how Eddie handled the situation. As sourced above, trauma fucks you up and affects how you handle particularly stressful situations. So, like, of course no one was going to handle this stupid mess well.

And then there's Buck's entire childhood to think about and oops, this was about to turn into a rant. Nope, Buck's My Sister's Keeper-esque childhood is another rant for another day.

Uh, in conclusion, petition for the firefam to just go to family counseling at this point.
